Speaker 1 (00:19):
Hello, Hello, Hello, how you gonna? How you doing what
it do? Bye? Bye, baby man. You know that bang
or book by now right? You know that it's the
intro the sound of the song fe to the college
football function. You know the voice by now right, At
least I hope you do. And if this is the
(00:41):
first time listening to a college football function episode, welcome.
I go by the name cousin Mike. Everybody calls me
c M A K A C M. Funk aka Professor
CM aka mister Steele, Grandma, just I got a lot
of a ka's just study you just call me the
host that knows the most, just the guy in charge
(01:01):
of this college football function show. And recharged the batteries
a little bit. Welcome back. Last time I talk to you, guys,
we were wrapping up draft discussion, you know, prospects, kind
of ranking them XX and X, and kinda just gave
it off, you know, send it on its way. Hopefully
(01:24):
the masses went out and listened to it and got
prepared for the draft. You know, I've said before the
first day of the draft that Thursday night, it's kind
of a crap shoot. Sure, absolutely, it's a crap shoot.
You can do as many marks as you want. You
can't simulate trades. You can't simulate someone picking someone that
(01:51):
you had no idea that they were looking into. A
lot of wild cards go into first dad draft. But
I'm pretty sure Micha has said this as well. If not,
I'm sorry, but my favorite day of the draft is Friday.
It's the second and third rounds, and you know the
(02:11):
first part of the second and third rounds as well.
It's it's you know, who didn't get drafted, you know,
from the first day, you know, Thursday night to get
that day kind of went by and you were expected,
you know, projected to be a first round draft pick.
You know, you come back the next day and you
(02:32):
know you gotta wait. You know, you gotta wait overnight.
Just imagine that feeling of, you know, being in the
green room and you gotta wait that three and a
half hours. We gotta do something about that too. By
the way, good night, It's gotta go a little bit quicker,
you know, thirty two picks. It takes three and a
half hours. I think it wasn't over until ten thirty,
(02:55):
close to eleven. I can't really remember, but yeah, it's
I get it. It's a huge night, a good celebratory
night for college football and NFL shaking hands pretty much.
But good night. It's got to do something. And what
sucks here is where I live, there were tornadoes in
the area, so it was cutting. I was watching it
(03:19):
on ABC, and the first couple of times he popped
up the meteorologists letting everybody know that there was tornadoes
in the area. I was like, and it would cut off,
it cut off. I do believe it was the I
do a Carter pick and I didn't even see who
it was. So I had to switch the channels to
ESPN to watch that until I don't know when it was,
(03:45):
maybe even pick number seven, maybe even Carolina that they
finally got the meteorologists off the TV. They would just
put the a little box in the corner of the
draft and he was doing his meteorology thing. You know,
it's a it's a joy and a pain to live
in Texas sometimes. You know, our summers are rough, but
(04:06):
this is the type of year that we get tornadoes.
You know, we in where I live, we call it
tornado Alley, and it happens. You know, it's just part
of living here in Texas. You know, you live in California,
you live in New Orleans, you live in Florida. California's
got to deal with hurricanes, I mean earthquakes. Sorry, I
(04:26):
mean I'm sure they could get hurricanes over there as well,
but more of the Florida's and the New Orleans and
you know, the Carolinas all the way up the East
coast and you got hurricanes. It's just part of living
where you live. So yeah, that was my Thursday night,
but caught it back up on the draft. I got
(04:48):
all these picks for you. We're gonna do it. I
don't know, I don't really remember how I did it
last year. To be honest. Here in a second, I'm
gonna kind of go through the first rounds very very
small because I have some just a few things I
want to talk about. But when we actually get into
this draft breakdown, I'm gonna start with the AFC. We're
(05:11):
gonna go northeast, south, then west, and then we'll do
the NFC. Same thing, Northeast, south and west. You know,
never eat sagi watermelon or never eat stupid witches, you know,
whatever you were taught back in the old grade school.
That's how we're gonna do it, and then I'm gonna
(05:32):
kind of grade you. I'm gonna kind of say, oh,
I love this pick for X, I didn't necessarily agree
with this pick for X. And then we'll just kind
of go and I'll say at the end of that division,
I'll say, hey, you know who's gotten better, who's kind
of sat on their hands, and who has kind of
(05:55):
dropped the ball. So let's go to the first round,
shall we? Kind of disappointing, like I said, with the
whole Tornado thing, and then the sure the Sudar Sanders collusion,
the mal kuiper bs. Uh. They these guys, I understand,
(06:16):
you have these rankings, and you've been doing this for
so many years. You don't know everything. Uh, and they
took a lot of uh praise that needed to be
displayed to guys I can't ward even when uh I
(06:36):
can't remember what it was. Uh, they just it. It
got annoying. Let's just say that with the whole shoulder
Sanders thing, y'all know it. When I was talking about
the quarterback position, I had him as my seventh ranked quarterback.
You know, I didn't think he was the first round grade.
I seriously didn't. I knew somebody was going to reap
(07:00):
and draft him. Didn't think it would be, you know,
all the way and one of the last days of
the draft, to be honest, but things happen. Like I said,
this guy, if you went purely on tape in game film,
sure he's a second day talent. But it's not just
(07:20):
how far you can throw it and putting on shorts
and shirts and running a shuttle and a three cone
drill and you know, running the forty and all that.
It's a lot has to do is what goes on
between your ears, and that's what these guys really have
to go through. They're gonna get asked questions, They're gonna
get picked and prodded. I think what Shrtshid or Sandrews was,
(07:45):
he's he's a me me me guy and this isn't Colorado,
And it was a very I mean, I think it
was a fork in the road for a for guys
like Sugar Sanders and even his dad to be perfectly
honest with you that the world don't revolve around you.
(08:07):
And I'm sorry, but if you don't teach your kids
that at a small age, you're gonna get spoiled brats
that the world doesn't revolve around you. And the NFL, really,
I think they handled it great. Was a collusion, I'm
not sure, but from what I heard was he didn't
test well when you know between the ears. They didn't
(08:28):
like his interviewing processes. A lot of guys didn't and
didn't like what he did at Colorado. How he was
in charge and you know, he got to make decisions
and you know all this stuff. And he's a like
I said, a me, me and me guy. And NFL,
you know, you play for the badge, you know, you
pay for the patch. You know, the that team on
(08:51):
your helmet, you know, the team on your front, not
the team, not the name on your back. And I
think they really put out a message. Now. Of course
we'll talk more a little bit about him, of course
when we get to the team that eventually drafted him. Right,
but uh, I thought the first round was with entertaining,
(09:12):
of course, don't get me wrong. Uh four head scratchers,
though I can say honestly, we all saw you know
cam Ward pretty much, you know, when the one of
the last you know, uh prospects. I delved into a
quarterbacks and I said, Kim Ward's you know gonna be
(09:32):
the number one pick. You know, I would hear that
from Tennessee Travis Hunter was going to get Travis Hunter
or Abdul Carter was going to be drafted second. It
was just who you know, Cleveland, I guess wasn't as
high on Travis Hunter and up comes Jacksonville to get him,
you know, one of the best players. Absolutely, Giants stayed pat.
(09:54):
I think the Giants were in a great position because, uh,
Travis Hunt, Bill Carter. They just pretty much had that
right in front of him. Either one guy's gonna play
both sides of the ball, and then you're gonna turn
around and get the best I thought prospect out of
the whole draft was Abdill Carter, so they they falls
(10:17):
to them, so good pick Will Campbell. Will think we
all knew he was gonna go early. Mason Graham as
well to Cleveland from Jacksonville. From that trade, New England
getting Will Campbell the best offensive tackle. You know, you
get the best possible position, the number one guy early
and often Las Vegas with Ashton James. That was forecasted
(10:41):
a while back with mock drafts, and I think I've
even said that before with even one of my mock
drafts as well the Jets with armand Membu the offensive
tackle out of missoo big shout out to Andy Lafon
and nailed that on his mock Mania two point zero.
I wasn't as high on the you know, I actually
have him, I think at three on my offensive tackle list.
(11:05):
But you know, he fits of course New York. He
would have fit, you know, fit at a lot of teams,
to be honest, but he kind of grew on me
late and some guys that happens. You know, a number eight,
it is where it starts. To be perfectly honest with you,
of course, do we need a number one receiver, absolutely,
et cetera. McMillan goes to Carolina. I would have rather
(11:30):
had Tyler Warren, to be perfectly honest with you, helps
out a struggling slash succeeding quarterback that is Bryce Young
going from being bench last year to last you know,
(11:50):
however many games of the season, you know, finally turning
it on and it finally hit him, you know, everything
that he had been working for, and it fit better
to me, and I would rather have him. Am I
gonna complain? No? Was he my tenth best you know
wide receiver. Absolutely not. He was number two for a reason.
(12:10):
I just I don't know. I have this gut feeling
about him, and I get gout feelings about players and
people all the time, and I've always learned to trust
your gut ted Troy mcwillan, I hope he pans out.
Just wasn't too happy with the pick New Orleans Kelvin Banks.
Good pick. You know New Orleans needed help on the
(12:31):
offensive line early and often, and you don't really skip
on this pick. You know you went and got of
course tully'st Wawonga last year. It helps sure up your
offensive line, and this guy's gonna help you absolutely in Banks.
Here's my next one, number ten in Chicago. Another ex pick.
I just don't agree with Colston Lovelin going to Chicago,
(12:55):
the tight end of Michigan my number two best tight end,
great potential. Don't get me wrong. If there wasn't the
guy named Tyler Warren in this year's draft, absolutely Coaston
Loveland's dumb man. It could be a you know, Midwest thing,
you know, picking the guy you know kind of went
to school kind of around up there. Just maybe they
(13:18):
just love Coaston Loveland more. I would have had to
Ty Warren. That's just me. Especially with a young quarterback
like Caleb, with all the weapons they have, I think
they're gonna throw the ball a little bit more in
Chicago this year than run it. But then again, what
do I know. I'm just saying why I took this
number two guy when you can take the number one.
(13:39):
That's all I gotta say. San Francisco with Michael Williams,
another guy A lot of people were gonna say he
was going to go early and often. Well, Tyler Booker
to Dallas a great pick. I thought he fits the
scheme then, and with the Pro bowlers at retiring for
(13:59):
a Dallas Cowboys, I thought that fits perfect for them.
It's not a sexy pick, but you know guys like
Gene t and McMillan and players like that that I
thought that maybe Jerry likes sexy, not necessarily what do
(14:20):
you need? He kind of goes with what he wants sometimes,
so maybe he is learning in his eighty eight years
of living. But good pick there. Miami with Kenneth Grant,
another great stud, the number two defensive tackle on my board.
Great pick. Here's the one right here, Indy at fourteen
getting Tyler Warren. I mean thinking they're lucky stars because
(14:41):
I thought, you know, in the pre draft process when
I did one of my first monks, I put Bonnick's
pick Indy at fourteen. They would love to have Tyler Warren.
He's not the second coming of Dallas Clark, but he
fits that offensive scheme. Of course, you draft a guy
like Warren and he kind of makes his own scheme,
(15:03):
or you scheme around guys like Tyler Warren, so it
helps out the young quarterback. So great pick. One of
my favorite picks of the whole first day, Atlanta at fifteen,
getting Jalen Walker, my number one linebacker out of Georgia.
I know Michael was not happy about it. To be
perfectly honest with you, He's not as high all Jalen
(15:26):
Walker as I am. But just they're gonna end up
putting him at edge. To be perfectly honest with you,
he's a real linebacker if you want to call him that,
but he plays closer to you know, the line of scrimmage,
so he's probably gonna play edge most of the time.
Hopefully make him a true defensive end in my honest opinion,
because they drafted a true edge player. A little bit
(15:48):
later talk about that sixteen Arizona Walter Nolan. Yeah, another
guy that was gonna come off very early seventeen. Here's
my next one, Cincinnati, Sorry CM, the other CM, Cameron Lyndez,
Shamar Stewart, Jena, Texas A and m uh, there's better
(16:10):
there's better players there at that at that position. Just
the production as it just worries me, to be perfectly
honest with you. In Cincinnati, with as small amount of
picks as they had, I felt they kind of whiffed
on their first one, and one of the most important
(16:32):
ones I think Cincinnati is is uh, you know, yeah,
from that Super Bowl year a couple of years ago,
of course going not winning, Uh, that division has gotten stronger,
you know. Pittsburgh is always gonna be a thorn in
everybody's side. And then teams like Baltimore I just kind
of separated themselves from Cincinnati when you could have said
(16:56):
two or three four years ago Cincinnati had a better
team the Baltimore Ravens, but not so much. But I
hope it works out for Cincinnati, be honest. I hope
all these picks work out. Eighteen Seattle Greg Zabel offensive
guard in North Dakota State didn't really that's a that's
a me. That's a I wrote down next to this
(17:17):
because wasn't too familiar with this guy and he kind
of came up late. I did some of my middle
offensive guys early and didn't go back and kind of
tweak them, and this is a guy I missed it.
I'm very disappointed because I did go back and check
him out this past weekend and stull it. Seattle needed
(17:39):
him absolutely, the offensive guard out of North Kota State.
Tampa Bay I met a book, a perfect pick. They
needed it. I mean they need some offensive help. Great
complimentary player to a guy like Mike Evans, and who
knows how long he has so he would step in.
I e right when it has decided. You know I'm done.
(18:03):
You know I've done. All I can do. Is Tampa
baysed championship window kind of still open. I don't know.
I mean, they're doing great things with what they have.
But a good pick. Mika Buka as a winner as well,
Denver at twenty Johnny Barron great pick. I mean, of
course I heard all the bad things about Will Johnson.
(18:24):
I just think Will Johnson fully healthy, is better than
Johnny Barrett. Nothing against Johnny Barron. If you had Johnny
Barren at number two, of course, behind Travis Hunter and
Will Johnson, maybe a little bit lower on your list,
just because of the injury concerns, maybe because of the
gambling concerns. All I'm all for it. Great pick though
(18:46):
Denver and Denver. He would fit. He fits Denver's defensive
scheme a little bit better. I would say. Pittsburgh Derek
Harmon great another great pick. They got the best player
available at the position they needed. Good pick. Chargers with
the Maryon Hampton running back. Yeah, I see the appeal.
(19:07):
I mean absolutely, Now they're gonna have a dual headed,
wretching attack because I do believe that. For Nagi Errs
is now so yeah, and Najie Harris is kind of
past that point of his career where he can't run
the ball thirty five times. It's like, you know, let's
give him twenty five, and you know, let's give this
beast of a man a Marion Hampton. Let's give him
(19:28):
twenty five and try to because remember a lot of
these picks, guys, they're picking these players to go up
against a certain team, like the Chargers, Vegas and who
else am I thinking of Denver? They're picking players because
they want to be Kansas City. You know you're picking
(19:51):
if you're Dallas. You're trying to stop the run because
you gotta play Philadelphia two times a year. You know,
a lot of this stuff coexists with teams you're trying
to beat because you're trying to win your division. So
you got to look at some of those things too
as well. Let's see here Green Bay. I thought one
of the biggest steals of the draft right here. Matthew
(20:12):
Golden falls all the way down here to twenty three
to Green Bay. Loved the pick, my number one receiver.
He's kind of fit like a glove in Green Bay,
and he's just a great player. Twenty four Minnesota Donovan Jackson,
guard out of Ohio State. Another pick. Didn't really offensive guards.
Offensive line this year besides tackle was kind of lackluster
(20:34):
in my honest opinion, and I missed Donovan Jackson. But
I did go a little bit on the weekend and
look at him. He's a stut He's gonna be great
for Minnesota. Great pick, but Minnesota didn't have very many
picks this year either. So I'm kind of a little
on the fence about this pick, to be honest. Let's
see here twenty five Houston to New York Giants, Jackson Dark,
(21:00):
great pick there. He of course grew on me. His
I did say, he's Doctor Jekyll and mister Hyde. But man,
I see a lot of potential on him, and I
think he's gonna do gory good pick there. The Rams
to Atlanta at twenty six, they go up and get
James Pearce Junior, the edge out of Tennessee. That I
(21:26):
think changed the draft. I completely thought that. I think
at Atlanta went we're gonna double that. Man, We're gonna
go up and get this guy. I know that James
Pierce off the field stuff kind of heard him. I mean,
if it wasn't for James Pearce's off the field stuff,
he would have got picked in the top fifteen. He
(21:48):
is the true pass rusher, he is the true edge prospect.
And that send alerts to not only in the NFL,
but also the NFC South, going, hey, you better shure
up your offensive tackle situation because we got two guys
on the outside. They're gonna come after Bryce Young And
(22:10):
of course, you know Baker Mayfield and of course whoever
becomes the quarterback in New Orleans. You know we're the
ringing you know, guys that you know we can't get
pass rushers, and we go right here, bam, we're gonna
get two in the first round and set a tone.
(22:30):
And I loved it was great, something great to do.
Twenty seven Malachai Starks to Baltimore. Great pick fitswell, he's
gonna match up real well with Kyle Hamilton, those of
you guys. It's kind of scary backfield, to be perfectly
honest with you defensively. Twenty eight Tyleek Williams, Ohio State
(22:50):
defensive tackle. Great pig bp A something that he needed
as well. Washington Josh Connery offensive tackle on Oregon. My
next best guy, another great pick. Who's talking about that
number thirty Buffalo. Here's my last one, My head scratching pick.
Maxwell Harston, cornerback out of Kentucky. Now at the time,
(23:16):
there's still some pretty good cornerbacks on the board, and now,
of course, coming from myself, I'm gonna pull out my
people real quick. I'm gonna pull out my cornerback list
if I can find it. Yeah, you know, Travis is gone,
Johnny Bearn's gone. Shabon Revel Junior is better than Maxwell Harriston.
(23:39):
In my opinion, Ben Morrison is better the Maxwell Harriston.
Trey Amos is better the Maxwell Hellerston. Now they know
something I don't know, but just a questionable pick. I'm
not gonna say it was a bad pick. No, I'm
just gonna say if they were going cornerback, there were
(24:01):
better players available. But then again, I don't know what
happens in these rooms when these execs and people interview
them and what they're asking them and what they're going
through and YadA YadA YadA, and what they qualifications and
what they're looking for. Blah blah blah. Don't tell, but
we'll see. Thirty one the champions trade up kind of
(24:25):
crazy and pull off is still right here. Johan Campbell linebacker,
my number two linebacker right behind Who was it, Jalen
Walker stud I mean the rich get richer, right, I
mean the offense is set, they just need depth at
core position on defense, and they nail it right there.
(24:48):
Linebacker from Bama, Jahada Campbell, good pick running out the
first round. Kansas City gets Josh Simmons offensive tackle. Ohio
State concidered, you know, absolute number one what they needed
to do in the draft, especially with their first pick,
go and get one of these stud offensive tackles. They
have to sure up that line. Especially looking at that
(25:11):
Super Bowl. You know a lot of people will say, hey,
we're about to get into May February. It was kind
of a long time ago when you think about it.
And Kansas City's offensive line got manhandled by Philadelphia's defensive line.
And then on the other side of the ball, Philadelphia
had their way with Kansas City's defensive line. So they
(25:34):
have to do what they have to do. I think
Philadelphia got better though. Here we go. We're gonna start
with the AFC, Like I said, Northeast Southwest, not getting
into complete, you know, because some of these teams they
had eleven picks, some teams had ten. Some teams only
had six. You know, Minnesota only had five. You know,
(25:58):
it's a lot easier to die. Know, so's fixed whenever
you have a small amount, when you have a big amount,
I'm not gonna dive all the way into your complete,
but we're gonna go through it. Like I said, Sorry,
I don't know where this is colf just come from shit. Okay,
we're starting the AFC North. Like I said, we're gonna
go alphabetically as well. Baltimore, I think their best pick
(26:20):
was Mike Green absolutely great pick. Teddy Buchannan the linebacker.
I think that is out of cow and then had
got a little wide receiver help as well. And Johntay
Western out of Colorado, a little speedy guy. Uh is
a great player at Colorado last year. I think can
(26:42):
help compliment, especially when Zay Flowers kind of went down
last year. I think they kind of had a hiccup.
You know, you need to have guys that just kind
of fill in right from the get go and uh
don't don't miss a beat, so you know, so to speak.
And I think John Tay Western right there is perfect.
(27:03):
They need the depth at at the wide receiver position
as well. Let's move on to Cleveland. A lot of
picks there. I mean Mason Graham, great pick the defense,
tack on a Michigan Like I said, their first Carson Chwessinger.
I thought that was a great pick. In their second
round pick at the top of round two, lanky guy.
(27:24):
I know he needs to add some size, but he
could fit that offensive game plan that they have. Quinn
John Jenkins as well, gives him some depth. I mean,
you think of Cleveland, you think of Nick Chubb. That's
a guy that would fit that offensive scheme. And he
was the more I don't know, Travon Henderson was more
(27:47):
thunder and Quinshawn Judkins was more lightning, you know, but
great running back regardless. I love that pick. Harold Fanning
Junior though, that was a guy that crept up my
tight end list. That guy had a bowling green, small school,
but I think he fits perfect now. Dylan Samson running
back kind of cogs up the running back room a
(28:09):
little bit. I know Cleveland likes to run the ball,
but they're gonna have to tighten some things up on
the offensive line and they got to figure out the
quarterback position because this is why Dylan Gabriel and Sear
Sanders got drafted by Cleveland. Wolf. That is an interesting
quarterback room. Is did Cleveland draft like this just to
(28:33):
get on hard knocks? To be perfectly honest with you,
you have those are some characters all in one room
and all gonna be fighting to be, you know, the
number one quarterback in Cleveland. That's just kind of crazy
to think about. So what a more interesting You know
teams in the in the draft for sure, Pittsburgh who
(28:57):
they get Derrek Harmon Okay, first round and they didn't
have a second round pick, you know, so I thought
they know their first one. My favorite pick of there
is Caleb Johnson, running back in Iowa. I had him
so high on my running back list. A guy from Iowa.
You know, yellow and black translates to black and yellow
(29:18):
for Pittsburgh. He won't miss a beat. He fits the
Pittsburgh work pale Iowa style, you know, offense and kind
of the Not about myself, I'm about the team. Iowa
players are a lot like that. They translate into great
Pittsburgh Steelers. Jack Sawyer another guy stud one of the
(29:38):
main reasons why Ohio State won the National Championship games.
You will remember strips back on quinn Ewers ran it
to the house. Great compromary piece to the watt over
there on the other side. Yeah, y'all, black another Iowa.
You know they Pittsburgh is smart. They all picked out
(30:03):
of the Big Ten. You know, all of their main
picks come from the Big Ten. You know they're gonna
be familiar with Pittsburgh football. They're going to a lot
of them are gonna contend, I think for first spot
day one. I mean, I don't see why not to
verber Glens with you. And then they get Will Howard
as well. I love it, to be honest. I mean
(30:26):
Pittsburgh's quarterback situations a little Harry as well. But you
get guys like Will Howard, winner, Jack Sawyer, winner, Caleb
Johnson professional. That's a great class. I love Pittsburgh's class.
Right here. Cincinnati, I would say it's the loser out
(30:46):
of this AFC Nord. Sorry the Shamar Stewart you start with.
You only have four picks, four picks, and you start
with an edge guy that just didn't produce. Sorry Demetrious Night,
South Carolina linebacker. No of them not bad pick though,
Dylan Fairchild. I thought this was the highlight. This is
(31:07):
the highlight of their very very small and draft. I
should say, helps out there guard. You know if Fairchild
was great last year for Georgia and he'll fit on
that offensive line is what they need. And then of
course Taj Brooks get some running back help in that
running back room in Cincinnati. The runner back out of Texas.
Attack right, It's go to the east. Buffalo. T J. Sanders,
(31:32):
defensive tackle, South Carolina. First round. Yeah, first round pick
Landon Jackson. Love that pick out of Arkansas, the edge guy,
six seven big. You remember I said that he's a
guy that likes to swim, get in the quarterback's face asap.
Look at Buffalo's problems the past X amount of years,
(31:53):
can't get past Kansas City because they can't get Patrick Mahomes.
And that is a guy that's going to help On Walker,
another defensive tackle. Buffalo definitely sent a message with their
draft as well. All these guys are defensive players, like
I said, Dean Walker defensive tech out of Kentucky, Jordan
(32:14):
Hancock quarterback o Ohio State, and Dorian Stron cornerback out
of Virginia Tech. That's what they need. You're gonna have
to stop your Kansas City Chiefs. You're gonna try to
sack them. You're kind of living them in your offense.
Is it's pretty fun. So that's a pretty good draft.
Miami Kenneth Grant, defensive tackle out of Michigan. Great pick.
(32:37):
Jonah Savanaya, guardener Arizona, Jordan Phillips, defensive tackle, Maryland, Jason Marshall,
junior cornerback out of Florida, Olie Gordon tecond right here
running back out of Oklahoma State. Sorry, and then of
course Quinn your's quarterback out of Texas. Not bad. I
(33:01):
mean you gotta have some quarterback depth. You gotta have
some running back depth. That's a team that they still
have some explosive capabilities. You gotta have a nice deep
running back room. Look at a chain with him going down,
and they had those problems. I don't think it was
last year, but two years ago. How about your offensive line,
(33:23):
how about your defensive line. Get some quarterback depth and
get some playmakers. I think Miamie did a great job.
New England. Of course, Will Campbell nailing that, you know
pick in the first round. And then of course Trebon Henderson.
You know, the lightning to thunder of Quinn Shudd Jenkins
out of Ohio State. Great pick. Kyle Williams Wazoo wide receiver,
(33:48):
great pick. Eleven picks total, got safety, defensive tackle, edge,
long snapper, and some quarterback help. Andre A Goless. I'm sorry,
I bor A Goless. I'm not saying that's his name.
Kicker out of Miami, New England. New England needed help.
(34:09):
I know they had eleven picks. I didn't think it
was that great. I think, of course the Will Campbell
pick is great, and of course the Trevion Anderson picks great.
I mean, where's the wide receiver help? You know, Kyle
Williams sure does he move the needle? Absolutely not. But
(34:31):
I think they kind of just filled holes, you know
what I'm saying. They got some depth at some positions
that they needed. But New England this is they're still
a little whiles away from being back to true contenders. Absolutely,
Jets at seven got a marred Amond Membo. Of course
(34:54):
that studoff Hans the tackle out of Miszoo in their
first round pick. And then they get Mason to, you know,
Ken to Jason Taylor, All Star Pro Bowl guy, you
tied in LSU. Guy's gonna jump in Day one. Ergan
Smith Berner wide receiver out of Georgia. Malachi Moore safety
(35:14):
at Obama, Francisco, Negoa, Nwagua. Sorry if I messed up
that buche of that name linebacker out of Miami, and
Tyler Barron edge out of Miami. Great picks man, the
Jets are still another one of those teams. Don't know
(35:36):
what they're gonna do a quarterback to be verba with you,
but what they got is definitely gonna help. You're definitely
gonna protect your quarterback of the future with your first
round draft pick, and then with your second rounder, you
know you're gonna give him a weapon. Smart picks. Like
I said, I like the Azariah Thomas pick though, that's
(35:56):
my favorite pick out of the whole their whole draft.
To be alongs with you, Florida State cornerback. I think
he's gonna be stood all right, Let's go to the south.
Houston's first Jaden Higgins was their first round draft pick.
I do believe so right, Not sure. Kind of lost
(36:20):
my point there. Cole A ringma ain'tady a Conte Actuary
tackle out of Minnesota. Jalen Noel wide receiver Iowa State
got that uh wham bam combination. The two wide receivers
know each other out of Iowa State. Houston goes out
(36:43):
and drafts them together. Jalen Reid safety anapein state, Jalen
Smith cornerback out of USC and my favorite pick, Luke
Leshe tight end out of Iowa. If your name is
Jalen Though, you got a good chance of getting drafted Houston.
Like that's crazy. Jade, Jayden Higgins, Jalen Noel, Jalen Reed,
(37:07):
Jalen Smith. I don't know what it is man. That's
that That just blew my mind when I was writing
all this stuff down. But they hit what they needed.
They got the wide receiver help. Yeah, I mean they
got what they needed. Some tackle and help, some back
end help. I think that will help him out as well.
And a guy like Luke, Yeah, he's not gonna be
(37:29):
a Day one starter, but eventually he's gonna be a stud.
Indy the pick of the whole first round, of course,
with Tyler Warren tied end out of Penn State in
their first round draft pick, and what was at fourteen
j T Tuamilau edge out of Ohio State. Great pick there,
(37:50):
loved that guy out of Ohio State. DJ Giddens a
great running back out of k State. Definitely helps out
that running back around, give him some depth. And then
Riley Leonard quarterback at a Notre Dane. Interesting pick. There's
a lot of good there's a lot of interesting things
going on in Indianapolis. I think the leash has gotten
(38:12):
shorter and shorter in Anthony, and they're going to put
in a guy like Ridy Leonard that he can wing it,
but he likes to run the ball as well. He's
definitely gonna have to change it. But him and the
DJ Giddons, Tyler Warren, it's kind of a setup in
my honest opinion. It's like these guys could work together, well,
(38:35):
not necessarily this year, but in the future. So I
like that pick there, Jacksonville of course, Travis Hunter trading up,
putting the balls on the table, Tradie mccleveland to get
up and get one of the best players period. Cornerback,
wide receiver combination out of Colorado, Kayleb Bransaw cornerback out
of Tulane on my list, great pick. Wyat Melon guard
(38:58):
out of West Virginia. Talked about him well, Jack Kaiser,
lane backer, got a notre dame. You know he's gonna
be smart. Jalen McLeod, what's that say? Another linebacker out
of Auburn this time. And then bray Shawn Tuton running
back out of Virginia Tech. Not flashy, not a flashy draft.
(39:20):
They hit on positions that they needed. They go double
tip with their first couple of picks and get some
cornerback help. Absolutely what they needed. They needed offensive line help,
and it looks like some back end help on defense,
and it looks like they got it. So Jacksonville, like
I said, they're the new England of the South. You know,
still got some question marks and it's still gonna be
(39:42):
a NFL battle to contend in their division. Tennessee one
overall camera Ward. Yeah, just a great overall guy, no flash,
Just a great, great dude from what I hear, to
be perfectly honest with you. So and then they get
Olami Oh wife you mean yeah? I think I but
(40:07):
of more of the second time, we're gonna call him
olu Ola Dejo. Uh the what does that say? Edge
out of u c l A. Okay, Uh, let's go
into more. What they got Kevin Winston Jr. Uh Safety
Hadna Penn State, Jim Mary d K wide receiver right
of Florida. Gunnar Helm loved that pick right there, tied
(40:30):
in from Texas. Uh, you know, guys coming into the
into the game together, they're going to work together. Uh.
They also get Rastreppo, one of my favorite receivers. And
it's another head scratcher. But the draft. Why did that
guy that get draft? I'm sorry, but if you think
it's forty is just too slow, you didn't watch enough
(40:53):
tight and I think y'all will all see how right
I was about that alec Ao Manor wide receiver at
Stanford as well, another great pit Jackson Slater, small school guard.
I talked about him. I loved him as well, Marcus
(41:13):
Harris cornerback and account and Khalil Mullings running back out
of Michigan. Another team needs a lot of help, uh,
you know, getting their quarterback of the future. Uh. Let's
see here, where was I getting, you know, an edge
in their second round? Getting some wide receiver help, uh,
(41:36):
some tight end help with Gunner Hilm and d k
and Ao Manor. Uh Jacksonville can hit the floor. Tennessee, sorry,
Tennessee can hit the floor running. Uh. And I think
next year, so uh, you some better watch out. That's
of course everybody knows. The AFC South is one of
the weaker divisions in the a f C and kind
(41:59):
of been top heavy. But you know, Jackson Midtonnessee are
closing the gap on Indy and of course the raining
back to back years. I do believe in Houston go
to the AFC West. We're gonna start with the Denver Broncos.
Of course, John A. Barron quarterback Texas with their first pick.
Love this pick right here. Archie Harvey running back UCF,
(42:22):
big bodied, huge running back, will fit. Absolutely love this pick.
Pat Bryant wide receiver out of Illinois. Talked to him,
talked about him a little bit in my draft discussion.
Sabion Jones, edge rusher out of LSU, and Quay Robinson
looks like, as I say, quarterback at Obama. Yeah, very short,
(42:47):
very small draft for Denver, but that was a team
that overperformed. Team that doesn't have a whole lot of holes,
a team that has a great coach, a good quarterback,
some prime position already covered. And they're very young in
certain positions as well, especially when you look on the outsides,
your inside rushers, your cornerbacks, and your quarterback as well.
(43:10):
They're young. So Denver good. I think that was a
pretty good, damn good drafted. But perfectly honest with you, Casey,
Josh Simmons in the bottom of the first round could
pick Omar Norman lot defense tackle out of Tennessee. Kind
of unfamiliar with him, but looked into him. He fits
ashing a lot. Edge rusher out of Louisville. Jalen Broyles
(43:33):
loved that pick right there, Utah state wide receiver. That
was a good bang for their buck at their position.
They needed some wide receiver help, whether they have to
they want to admit it or not. Jeffrey Bossa, I
loved the linebacker out of the University of Oregon. Bossa
is a Bossa. Bishard Smith as well, running back out
(43:54):
of SMU, gives them some running back room help they
fit they needed to fix. I don't think they're quite
there yet, but Kansas City seems to make meals out
of what you have in the pantry. They kind of
they and they dropted well as well. When was the
last time somebody said, oh, you know, Kansas City didn't
have that great of a draft. They seem to find
(44:17):
diamonds in a rough and this this one was pretty
damn close. Go to the chargers of La Mariy and
Hampton running back you and so he definitely head scratched
for me. But it makes sense. They're gonna go straight
ground and pound you. Know, with a guy like Herbert,
let's not put too much pressure on him, and a
(44:39):
guy like Hardball like, let's run him gun. I don't know,
let's run the ball and keep the ball out of
Patrick Mahomes's hands. Smart. But they did get the receiver
that they absolutely needed. I think there are wide receiver
room needed some help. A guy like Trey Harrish wide
receiver from miss absolutely helps Jamari If it's a tackle Oregon,
(45:02):
Kyle Knard edge rusher out of South Carolina, KeAndre Lambert
Smith wide receiver. What is it Auburn? Yeah, I do
believe so. R J. Mickens and Trackenzie Oh I can't
read my handwriting. Grecus two safeties so helped out their
back ends as well with some of their late round picks.
(45:24):
Las Vegas, of course, actually J t one of the
best players in the draft period running back Boise State
with their first round draft pick. Love this pick. Jack
Beck wide receiver from TCU. Just a doer man, a
work pill kind of guy. Does he fit a Las
Vegas Raiders style? But we don't know what they're really
(45:45):
going to do. Now. You know, this is a brand
new team. This isn't your Brothers Raiders. I see a
lot of up going up for the Raiders. I should
say Darien Porter, cornerback Iowa State, great, Kayler Rogers stud
offensive tackle from Texas Tech. Helps out their offensive line absolutely.
(46:05):
Same with Charles Grant William and Mary tackle as well.
Dante Thornton Jr. Loved that guy wide receiver out of Tennessee.
Gives a little bit of help with Beck as well.
Tommy Mellett wide receiver. Another guy they went and doubled
it triple dip actuutely Ken Miller, This one was my
(46:27):
head stretcher. There's a lot of going on in Vegas
and they got a little depth right here. I think
that was their seventh round pick. You believe quarterback out
of North Dakota State winner winner though North Dakota State.
You don't you think he's gonna come in there and
be content at being buried in that depth chart. You
gotta know anything coming. Also, they got two defensive tackles
(46:50):
and you know, three total wide receivers. So Las Vegas
is yet again another team. A lot of woe woe
is me lately, and just when baby seems like it's
been a long time ago. Uh, you know, they haven't
had a really good season since that year they got
beat down in the Super Bowl at are again Stepha
(47:12):
bay so Las Vegas. I like the drafts. I thought
they did good. All right, that was the AFC. Let's
let's go to the NFC. We're gonna start the course
with the North Chicago one of the head scratching picks,
Coaston Lovelin. Like I said, in their first round, Michigan
tight end. Uh, not gonna go in too much about
(47:33):
it if he ends up being a stud cool Uh
makes sense to a point, but I'd rather have Tyler Warren.
That's just me. Sorry. Luther Burton though, Missoo. Luthor Burton
the third receiver out of Missoo. Great pick. He's gonna
a depth definitely another weapon that Kayler Williams is gonna
get to play with. Shamar Turner defensive tackle from A
(47:56):
and M and Ozzie Trapeo tackle from BC. How about
that offensive line? Very short draft, very small draft, but
what they're getting is only successing what was done last year.
And I think with what they're doing this year, give
Katy Williams some help, but some while out the offensive line,
(48:17):
which they did a lot in a free agency as well,
and give him some weapons, got some Lovelin, Luther Burden
still got guys that they had last year as well,
with Rome and Dj Moore. Chicago outlook looks good. And
if you know, I know, I bashed Kayla Williams last year,
but I also said he wasn't gonna have a good
(48:38):
year last year. I didn't say he was gonna have
a bad career. I just didn't see a lot from
him this year. So that was last year. Now going
into twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six, there's no excuses.
Now he's had the year, He's had every you know,
a year under his belt, getting some pretty good weapons.
(48:58):
I thought he had last year now grounded, shitty, offensive, blind,
but because of coach In Lovelin, a guy straight up
baller like Luther Burden and that three headed monster that
you would have technically in the backfield too. Uh, there
are no excuses for Chicago, sure, Sorry, Detroit Tightlik Williams
stud defensive tack Ohio State Tate Ratledge. Ugh, if there
(49:23):
ever was a Detroit lion, that was him, you know,
the running mate as well that that stand up guard,
Tate Ratledge, loved him. Isaac Tela Teslaw sorry wide receiver Arkansas,
big fan of him. Talked a little bit a little
bit about him and my pre draft stuff. He's gonna
fit Miles Frasier guard out of l s U and
(49:47):
Dan Jackson another Georgia player. He's safety this time. Uh.
Yet again Detroit needed some back end help, but they
also still needed weapons. So it looks like they got
their offensive line hell, a little bit of back end
help and also some somebody else to play with, you know,
with Ben Johnson not being there though, Detroit could take
(50:09):
a step back. Green Bay one of the steals of
the draft. Like I said when I talked about it earlier,
Matthew Golden wide receiver, Texas Swiss army knife. Is he
an ex, a true ex. No, you put in where
you want, and this guy's gonna make He will make you, amil,
(50:30):
I promise. Anthony Belton, tackle from NC State could pick
Saveon Williams, wide receiver from TCU. Another guy fits as well,
save you on Williams and saw him a lot at TCU.
Good pick Baron Surrell, edge rusher from Texas, and then
Colin Oliver, linebacker from Oklahoma State Minnesota. I close your ears,
(50:55):
Grimery for not the best draft. You only had five
picks Donald Ben Jackson, it was probably your best. One
guard Ohio State, Ty Felton, wide receiver from Maryland. Not
too familiar with, Tyrin Tyrone Ingram Dawkins the edge rusher
from Georgia. Another guy not too familiar with. I do know.
(51:18):
Kobe King though, linebacker out of Vince State. Not a
bad pick. And then Gavin Bartholomew, tight end from pitt
Just not a lot there. And Minnesota's got some question marks,
you know. Uh yeah, they have one of the best
receivers in the game, but I thought they lost a
lot in the in the offseason as well, and they
(51:39):
haven't really replaced him either. So Minnesota, no bad talk
in you, but that division is getting better and better
and better. Watch out. That's all I asked. Say. Let's
go to the East. Dallas starts ty Book of course
the guard at Obama with their first round draft pick.
Good pick, Donovan Azeraku edge guy had a BC Shavan
(52:05):
revel Bam right there. My favorite pick for Dallas helps
out their defensive backfield out of ECU the Pirate one
of my favorite guys. He was in my top four.
I do believe great pick. I love that guy. What
does that say? Jayden Blue Yes, running back Texas fits,
(52:25):
Phil MafA running back Clemson fits Let's get better. I
think Dallas did sure if the offensive line, and of
course they still need some more help. But yeah, I
liked I liked their draft. I thought this is one
of the better drafts that they've had in a couple
of years. To be perfectly honest with you, Giants. Next,
(52:45):
of course, number one overall player in my whole thing,
they get the beast Abdul Carter, and then they go,
let's see here, Jayden Higgins of course got some offensive firepower.
They get one of my favorite running backs in the draft,
Cam Scataboo running back Arizona State, Terius Alexander defensive tackle Toledo,
(53:10):
Marcus Mbo out of Purdue, guard Thomas Fidon tight end
to Nebraska, and Corey Black linebacker Oklahoma State. Great great picks, man,
I mean they did good yet again another team that
just needs a little bit more help. But automatically I need.
(53:34):
Their first three picks were slam dunks with the Giants.
Higgins is a stud of course at the Carter is
a Beast and of course Cam Scattaboo. I think these
guys are day one starter, to be perfectly honest with you,
So watch out Giants fans. You should be excited. Philadelphia
the rich get Richard Jehan Campbell, uh, my number two linebacker,
(53:58):
of course I got that just fits the SEC defense
that it seems like Philadelphia just kind of replaces every
single year. Like I said, John Campbell, linebacker at Alabama Beast.
Let's see here, I'm looking for their second round pick.
(54:19):
Andrew mccoobaugh, safety from Texas. Good pick. Uh McWilliams, Mark McWilliams,
what does it say more or mac dahle Mack McWilliams,
cornerback out of UCF sorry smile London linebacker Georgia, Drew
(54:40):
Kendall center Boston College. And of course Kyle McCord my
favorite quarterback going into the draft process, cornerback out of
Syracuse one of their last picks. But they also go
and get two offensive tackles in the six and round
out the edge position with their last How does a
team that just on the Super Bowl get better? I
(55:05):
just look at their drafts. I mean, you can honestly
say and you can look at the past, let's say,
four years of drafts. Who has been consistently getting B
plus's and a's when it comes to draft grades. It's
Philadelphia in the NFC and Kansas City and the AFC,
and who's played in two Super Bowls against each other
(55:27):
in the last four years. There you go follow the
Philadelphia and Kansas City draft molds. My goodness, Philadelphia killed it. Washington,
what do we got? Josh Carr Connolly, Yeah, offensive tagle
Oregon with their first round draft pick, and then Trey
Amis one of my favorite quarterbacks. I love that pick.
(55:48):
There definitely what they needed that defensive backfield for the Commanders.
Jalen Lane wide receiver Virginia Tech, good player, Kean Radonald
linebacker UCLA and Kobe Crosby Merritt running back out of Arizona.
Another small another team, kind of night. Minnesota, very good team.
(56:11):
Last year, over performed, but I think they needed some
more help to get over that hump you know, Washington,
you know, going up against the division rival for the
third time in the playoffs. Yeah, it takes a lot
out of you. But will these players contribute more and
(56:32):
push Washington over The only time Hotel. It's going to
the South, the dirty, dirty South. Selmy in the NFC
start with the Atlanta Falcons. Almost said brief, almost said
that sorry, of course, Jalen Walker their first pick, and
then pierced Edge out of Georgia and Tennessee, respectively. Just
(56:54):
two studs, one a true linebacker that they're just going
to make them into a defensive end slash Edge and
the one guy's just a straight up edge player. Man
and James Pears Junior love it. Xavier Wats Safety out
of Notre Dame very smart, love that guy. Billy Bowman Jr. Though,
Bottle Safety out of OU. I know, and I'm almost
(57:15):
I don't necessarily know, but I'm almost positive. My creator
is ecstatic about that pick. I saw that guy. He
is a beast. Billy Bowman Junior is a beast and
he loves seeing his OLU singiors of course go to
his professional team. Like the Jack Nelson tackle pick out
of Wisconsin as well. Another guy. You know you want size,
(57:38):
you want girth, you want just a nasty and nastiness.
Go draft you a big ten tackle Wisconsin. Jack Nelson
love that pick. It's good to my Carolina Panthers Tittoro McMillan.
Of course with our first round draft pick. Not gonna
bash him. I think he's too lean, will see. Like
(57:58):
I said, I'd rather Tyler Warnt, but we're no, that's
neither here nor there. Nick Skerton like that pick, don't
love it. The edge player out of A and M.
Love this guy though. Princeally Uhman kneelan edge out of
miss Ole. Miss love that guy. I had him a
(58:19):
little bit. These guys a little closer. But I mean,
if it wasn't for what Atlanta did, I only Carolina
goes back to back edge guys in the second and third.
So interesting. Leathan Ransom safety at Ohio State champion winner.
You needed to work on some things, but there's nothing
wrong with that. Etn is that Trevor Yeah, Trevor ETN
(58:43):
Georgia running back, give us some depth mine Cuba love it.
Mitchell Evans tight end notre Dame. Another baller, another guy
that's gonna help us out. Absolutely. And then Jimmy Horn Jr.
Slept on left on ride receiver out of Colorado last
year son of a Hall of Famer. Is Jimmy Horn. No,
(59:09):
I don't think he's a Hall of Famer, I'll say
pro bowler. I'll take that back. But Horn, Yeah, Jimmy Horn,
junior man. I love that pick. Is gonna help out
our receiver room. New Orleans, Kelvin Banks, Yeah, tackle from Texas,
help out their offensive line. And we got Tyler Shuck.
Oh leave it. Leave it to the New Orleans Saints
(59:35):
to ship the bad. This is when I knew something
was going on for Shirreff Sanders. Is when Tyler Shuck
gets drafted before Shu Sanders. I take Shader Sanders over
Tyler Shuck and RB. I'm sorry, but this is a
guy that played seven years, only played forty two games,
(59:57):
serious injury concerns, and and maybe his best year was
that Louisville last year. Was it that great? I don't,
I don't get it. I I love it for New Orleans, though,
I'm I I laughed a good hearty you know, one
of the good, deep, hardy laughs where it's just like, oh,
(01:00:21):
fart a little bit. I laughed hard when New Orleans drafted,
because that's perfect. I said, do not draft him. Whoever
draft him, draft him at your own word, you know, concern.
I don't see any much coming out of him and
of course New Orleans goes out and does it made
me happy. That was the highlight of my draft, just
(01:00:42):
so you know. Bad thing though, they got my favorite,
one of my favorite linebackers, Danny Stutsman ou that. Yeah,
it's like New Orleans new And then they got ah.
I'll pull in your favorite players absolutely, Vernon Broughton, deepensive tackle,
Texas good pick. Quincy Riley cornerback from Louisville. Devin Nail though,
(01:01:07):
I like that pick. The running back out of Ku
sneaky good player. Running back position this year was so
freaking deep, so freaking deep, and a lot of great
running backs came out of the Big twelve. This year
also added a tight end and some edge help as well.
Tampa Bay rings up the NFC South. We had to
(01:01:30):
make a buka, of course with their first round draft pick.
Hit that out of the park, and then second round
trying to find it. Where they go? Ben Morrison? Benjamin Morrison, Sorry,
where did you go, buddy? Yeah? Cornerback out of Notre Dame.
(01:01:51):
Add some winners for sure, only had six picks though,
Jacob Parrish, cornerback out of Kent State, David Walker, edge
out of Central Arkansas, Elijah Roberts edge out of SMU,
and then Tess Johnson my favorite pick right there as
well with the UFO. I mean, a stud wide receiver
(01:02:12):
at Oregon will match up well with a guy like
to make a BOOKA yeah, I thought they did good
for that's how you pick a six pick draft right there.
I love most of their picks. I yeah, Jacob Parrish
(01:02:33):
not too much, but David Walker, Elijah Roberts, Tess Johnson
of course, a Mecha Buka. I know about those players
and they just went to the ring champs. Templarly had
a good draft despite only having six picks. Arizona, We're
gonna wrap up the NFC with the NFC West Arizona
(01:02:56):
Walter Nolan defensive tackle miss their first round pick. Good.
This is where Will Johnson stuff falls. Cornerback, Michigan Arizona.
Arizona is one of those teams that loves to take
chances a guy like Isaiah Simmons a few years ago. Hell,
even drafting a midget at quarterback. I mean, Arizona is
(01:03:19):
one of those teams. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.
Oh sorry, guys. Well Johnson cornerback. Love that love that pick.
I still think he's going to be a baller. Jordan Burke,
edge guy out of Oregon. Cody Simon bam one of
my favorite picks in this whole draft where he especially
(01:03:40):
where Arizona got him, linebacker out Ohio State. Then they
go Denzel Burke cornerback Ohio State. I mean they got winners.
Then in this draft, Arizona did Hayden Connor guard out
of Texas and the Keaton Crawford safety out of Nevada.
Sneaky good draft for Arizona man, sneaky good draft. Their
(01:04:01):
defense got better, they added depth. I think they're content
with their offense. As you can see, all those picks
are defensive players, and Arizona was just kind of wofall defense.
They had one of the worst defenses in the NFL
last year, so obviously they're draft but I think they
nailed damn near every single one of them. Let's go
to the Rams of Los Angeles. Terrence Ferguson, tight end
(01:04:25):
of Oregon, first pick, Josiah Stewart edge gutt a Michigan
good pick. Jack Quaz Hunter running back out of Auburn
fireball man, sneaky good. Sneaky good running back right there,
Ty Hamilton defensive tackle Idaho State, Chris Paul junior live
backer at A, Mississippi and Conata Mumpfield wide receiver for Pitt.
(01:04:50):
Kind of a eh jraft for the Rams, I would say,
but remember Rams made the playoffs last year. The Rams
still have a lot of good players. Now no Cooper Cup,
no DeVonta Adams, the Rams could take a step back. Yeah,
I think so. Go to Seattle, oh man. I think
(01:05:13):
Seattle had one of the best drafts, the great Zabel pick.
Of course, it kind of hit me. It was like
one of the blindside punches because didn't really study him much.
Went and studied him. Bam, He's a hell of a player.
He was a guy that was I'm glad Seattle pulled
the trigger on He's a great offensive grouard out of
North Dakoina State. And then they go and get nick
(01:05:37):
emmn worry, my favorite safety out of South Carolina. Nailed
that pick. He's gonna show the whole league he is
one of the best safeties coming out this year. Upon
stout cornerback Western Kentucky CJ. West defensive tackle out of Indiana,
Jordan Watkins. Get him some wide receiver help, which they
(01:05:59):
aptly mean in Seattle wide receiver. Like I said from
old myths, Jordan James running back out of Oregon, gott
to have some offensive firepower. Jordan James brings it. Marquez
Sequel safety out of Kansas State, and then get some
quarterback depth. I don't know about this year, but Curtis Rourke,
(01:06:21):
quarterback out of Indiana, one of my favorite quarterbacks, a
guy that it wasn't for. I wasn't a cl PCL
MCL something like that. I'm looking it up right here. Yeah,
he just had a cl surgery back in January. So uh,
probably a guy who's not gonna be able to do
much this year, but gives him some potential, you know,
(01:06:44):
depth going forward. And that was oh man. But I
totally fucked this up, didn't I ah ding it. Let's
reach out this Sorry, guys, I screwed up. I just
read you San Francisco's draft. Sorry, all right, let's just
see Okay, I got the first two right right? Uh?
(01:07:04):
Where should I go? Yeah? Yeah, Grey's Abel and then
Nicki Minworri. Sorry, here we go. Elijah Arroyo tight end
out of Miami. Boom. Love that guy. That guy's a baller.
He worked good with Kim Wore last year, and I
think he could potentially do good things in Seattle. Jalen Milroe,
(01:07:26):
here we go, quarterback Bama. A lot of people said
that was kind of a reach. I didn't think so.
I think Jalen Monroe is going to be a baller
in the NFL. Riley Mills defensive tackle, Notre Dame. Tory
Horton right here, wide receiver Colorado State is my sleeper
right here for the Seattle Seahawks. I think that guy
(01:07:48):
is going to be a beast in the next level.
And Robbie Outs, I hope that's how you said you
pronounced it. Ou Zts Outs tied end from Alabama. I
think Seattle nailed damn Mary every single one of their picks. Seattle.
Woe is me kind of lately what's going on in Seattle.
But a lot of these players, it's gonna be able
(01:08:09):
to It's gonna be band aids over a cut, but
at least it's not a gushing cut. I think Seattle
is still a decent team and some of these picks, man,
I think they nailed offensive line help, they got safety help,
they got quarterback hilled tight end, help wide receiver, help
two decent tight ends. I mean I like a lot.
(01:08:32):
I love Elijah Royal and Robbie altis not bad guy either.
So I like what Seattle did. So let's go back
and just review the San Francisco. Yeah, I totally screwed
that up. Guys, Michael Williams edge guy out of Georgia.
And then let's see here Alfred Collins defensive tackle out
(01:08:54):
of Texas. But yeah, Upton Stout cornerback Western Kentucky, c
J West defensive tackle Indian Indiana, Jordan Watkins wide receiver,
Ole Miss, Jordan James running back Oregon, and Marcus Siegel
safety Kansas State. And then I got Curtis Rourke quarterback Indiana. Eh.
(01:09:18):
Eh for the for San Francisco and compared to what
I just did for Seattle, Right, Uh, is there really
any names to jump off that San Francisco draft? Remember
when we were saying that San Francisco drafts really really well,
where's San Francisco been in the past couple of years? Right?
(01:09:41):
Visit the McCaffrey curs could be I mean, you know
that they had one good year since then, and it
seems like they're just getting older and older in San Francisco,
and I don't know, this draft just don't really jump
off the page. I don't like the Michael Williams pig
and then you know, Alpha Collins is okay, but I
(01:10:05):
had the rest of their draft. I don't know. Time's
gonna tell though, right, I mean, well, well, I'll go
back to this list, you know, this time next year,
and you know, we'll see. But that should do it
for me. Guys our ten. Oh, it was a it's
a lengthy, you know process. That's you know, I pretty
(01:10:26):
much had all hundred, you know, two hundred and sixty
something players all written down here. I didn't write down
some just because I'm like that guy was mister irrelevant
or oh that's another thing, man, Can we get rid
of the mister irrelevant? Like Dad is like, oh, it's
just so disheartening, man, it really is. It bugs me
(01:10:49):
every single year they just call them, Hey, you're really
you're the least most important person in the whole draft,
Like it cracks me up. And I know it's never
gonna go away because I think the NFL loves it,
but it still sucks. Anyway. I hope you had a
great draft. I hope you had a great weekend. Got
some bad news and good news. So I don't know
(01:11:14):
if you're like me. I like to hear bad news
first and then hear the good news rather than vice versa.
Because I hear good news and then I hear bad news.
I'm only thinking about the bad news. So bad news
is this is going to be my last show for
a little while. I got you for a lit, I
got you, got you for a minute. Yeah, I'm gonna
(01:11:36):
take a month off. I had, I got permission from Mike.
I know there's probably gonna be some people that I
listen to this right now going. Thank you Jesus, MI creator,
and thank you Jesus and my creator for getting that
bum see him off off the radio waves because I
(01:11:58):
can't stand him. I don't want to hear them for
a whole month. It's gonna be the greatest month of
me ever. Now, good news, I'm not taking a whole
month off. You gotta be absolutely outside your mind. I'm
gonna go stir crazy if I don't hit that record
button now. I might take an actual week off, you know,
(01:12:20):
week and a half, maybe nine ten days, But when
those days are up and I start getting that itch.
I'm gonna start racking up shows. I'm gonna start putting
out shows, and whenever that month is up, bam, we
are full off season mode. The draft. I am officially done.
(01:12:42):
I have wrapped up the draft, some of my favorite players,
questionable picks, you know, all that good stuff. I'm ready
to get into offseason. Man, I got a lot of stuff.
We got a lot of stuff to talk about. One
hundred and thirty something teams that can win the National championship,
twelve team off who could potentially win to Heisman this year? Uh?
(01:13:04):
Does Ohio State go back to back? You know? Uh? Uh?
Does Texas run the SEC? You know, does Georgia reclaim?
You know, who's going to be the best team in
the Big twelve? A lot of question marks, man, talk
about transfer, portal and recruiting and a whole lot of stuff.
(01:13:26):
And we'll start going through schedules, you know, predicting all
that good stuff all the way up until August. I
do believe it's the second to last week in August.
I do believe it's Dublin. I think it's Farmageddon. If
I'm not mistaken. Iowa State in Kansas state open up
the season if I'm not mistaken, but for week zero.
(01:13:46):
But it'll be here before you know it. Hell, April
is almost already done. So you know, you guys don't
miss me too much. You know, if you want to
reach out to me personally, you know, of course, you know,
other than the handful two handfuls of people that have
my phone number. You know, you want to get a
(01:14:08):
hold of CM, you can reach me at on Twitter
aka x at Michael H five four six nine, you know,
send me a follow, send me a message, request, say, hey,
SM I hope your vacation is going great. Hey CM,
I hope you never come back either way. Man. Like
(01:14:30):
I said, I appreciate you guys so much. Enjoy you
don't know, I enjoy. Welcome back Grim. You know, listen
to the Grim Reefer not too long ago with his
rivalry series that he's you know, putting back out. It's
almost like, you know, uh, the Grim and Goose and yeah,
(01:14:51):
even Terry a little bit through through the month of April,
a little bit of the March they were put on
the show, you know, and Seem and Mike we're doing
our thing. And now that their batteries are recharged. Mikey's
going on the show. If you know Cem, you know,
Professor cm Cem funk is going into getting put in
(01:15:12):
the garage for a little while, you know, get put
on the charger, and like I said, get ready for
the season, because if you think I'm taking a full
month off, I'm really not. Like I said, I'm gonna
start knocking out shows left and right and just have
a nice little stock pile shows to where you know,
I'll have you know, the month of June already done
(01:15:35):
by May, so you never know, like I said, I
might get even farther than that. Like I said, I
can't not do nothing for that long. There's just no
freaking way. I'll get stirre crazy. And there's always stuff
that goes on, you know, in the off season as well.
But thank you guys for coming along for this ride.
Like I said, if you want to reach out to
(01:15:55):
me personally, hit me up on Twitch, Twitch, Twitter aka
at Michael H five four six nine, and like I said,
keep me company. You know, if you have my number,
all right, your boy, say hey, cm am issue, what's
gonna be? What's first on the docket when you come back?
You know what I think I'll do is kind of
have like a review show, kind of like when your
(01:16:17):
favorite sitcoms. It's like, you know previously on Weeds, you know,
and it shows you what happened. We'll go through, you know,
the national championship and some of the college football playoffs,
you know, semifinals and stuff, and then we'll start off
the year exactly how the year ended. And I'll start
with Ohio State, the reigning national champs, and go through
their schedule, and then we'll do that opposite way as well,
(01:16:40):
and then we'll do some sleepers and has been stuff
and all kinds of good stuff I got for you
guys just in a few short months and get you
guys ready for college football, because it's right around the corner.
I know it feels like football is still in long
ways away, but it's really not. Before you know it,
it's May. Before you know it's June, and then July,
and then man, starting to get serious in July in
(01:17:01):
myest opinion, because the next month you're pretty much putting
in week one stuff. At the end of July, I
mean you really are. Most of the time, you're already
back in school. You usually go back to school a
week or two before everybody else does, and you start
really getting into weeks week one week zero preparation. If yeah,
(01:17:21):
if you work zero, you're starting to leave a little
earlier than that. So don't be distraught. Like I said,
I hope you enjoyed this whole process. That was strenuous,
It was rough, it was hard, but I hope you
enjoyed it, like I said, And I hope your team
got better, because I mean, it starts now, you know,
when you got free agency and then draft and then
(01:17:42):
off season stuff, and we'll be right back into it again.
So you guys, enjoy your time off away from cem
Grim and I know my creator and some of these
other guys got stuff for you to pick up the
slack that you know seem will inevitably leave in that
that huge hole. You know. I'm just kidding. I yeah,
(01:18:04):
I'm just messing around. I'm a very humble guy. Uh,
Like I said, you guys, I'll miss you guys more
than you know y'all will probably miss me. To be honest,
i'ms hitting that record button and just talking because, like
I know, a lot of y'all say, see him probably
loves hearing himself talk. I don't like my own shows.
(01:18:25):
That's weird. Uh yeah, I don't. I don't believe in that.
But big shout out to all you guys. You know,
