Speaker 1 (00:05):
Mmm, Hello, Hello, Hello, How you going? How you are doing?
(00:27):
What did you do? Baby? You know that the finger
would be by now, right? You know how as you're
intro the sound, the song, the theme to the college
football function, you know the voice by now at least
I hope you do. If this is the college football function,
you must be listening to CEM aka Cousin Mike aka CM,
Funk aka mister Aka aka mister Studio Grandma aka Professor CM.
(00:53):
Call me whatever you want, It's just I'm here. I'm
here again, yet again, with another episode of a college
football function. How are you guys doing? How is your
summer going? This will be the last show in July.
I'm actually recording this on the it's the thirtieth, Yes,
(01:14):
it's Wednesday, the thirtieth of July. Last day of July
will be tomorrow, and you know this show should be
up in you know, a couple of days, so the
last show of July. I told you guys, July was
gonna go by fast. Like I said, it feels like
a few weeks ago was fourth of July, and the
(01:34):
next thing, you know, it was the middle and my birthday,
and then now it's the end. Of July. If August
goes as fast as July did, college football is right
around the corner. And I'm not even kidding. We're getting
into August. The month of August starts college football August twenty,
third week zero. So I have two more of the
(02:00):
college you know, going through these teams, you know, predicting
their schedules, you know, looking at tough stretches, wins, their buys,
going through some things that you know, kind of concerned
me with their schedule. Things I like, of course, going
back and saying, oh, you know, hey, how did they
do last year? Kind of a recap show. I like
(02:21):
to do that, you know, for this at least this segment,
because you know, you kind of forget, you know, January.
You know, it was a long time ago, and that
was six months ago, and we haven't had college football
in six months. So yeah, you probably remember who won
the college football playoff, you know, you know who the
two teams that were that played. But do you remember,
(02:43):
you know, who won a certain conference. You might go hoo,
and you have to think about it for a second. Now,
if you've been listening to all these shows, you know,
I've talked about every conference champion, every single member of
the College Football Playoff after this show. Because the twelfth
and last team to play for the College Football Playoff
(03:06):
National Championship was the Boise State Broncos. So after this show,
I have two more teams and that will be it.
I will have done twenty teams. So this is Team
seventeen and eighteen. Next week will be nineteen and twenty
and I'm done not doing anymore because that puts me
a little bit behind. Now after that show. Next week,
(03:30):
I'm gonna go through all these schedules, maybe throw in
a wild card team here or there. I'm gonna predict
the College Football Playoff of twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six,
maybe predict the national championship yet again, and then do
my Heisman show. And the next thing, you know, it's
gonna be Week zero. I'm doing Week zero preview week,
(03:50):
and then we're right back in it, and it's it's
gonna be hot and heavy all the way through January something.
You know, whenever the national Championship is Team seventeen and
eighteen are are good ones. Like I said, one of
them played in the College Football Playoffs, you know, was
one of the esteemed, you know, twelve teams to get
invited to that big tournament for its first you know,
(04:13):
inaugurational year of twelve teams. And that's the Boise State Broncos.
No stranger to being recognized, right, I think they are
the giants of the non power fours, you know, and
starting next year they actually get to join a quote
(04:34):
unquote power conference. Now, the PAC twelve will be bigger,
you know, starting next year, not as deep, not as strong,
but the PAC twelve is not going away. I'm actually
kind of happy about that. The PAC twelve's doing everything
they can. You know, they went and poached some Mountain
(04:55):
West teams. You know, they did everything they could to
keep Pack twelve intact. You know, it's a good thing
for college football when you have a power five quote
unquote conferences. And Boise State will join PAC twelve next year,
but this will be their last year in the Mountain
West Conference. And then I have to talk about a bully.
(05:19):
I have to talk about him. He reminds me of Debo.
This team, Now, this Debo got its ass kicked last week,
you know, or last week last year, you know, like
at the end of Friday, you know, Craig knocks out,
you know, debo, and that was Alabama. Alabama was the
bully on the block a couple of years ago, you know,
(05:43):
and for a decade, you know, when you think about it,
when Nick Saban was running the Alabama Crimson Tide, they
were damn near playing conference championships every year, damn near
going to the playoffs every year. And you're talking four
teams only got invited to the college Football Playoff and
you go, you win the SEC, you know, yeah, you're
(06:05):
gonna get a spot in the collegewole playoff right now?
Exit Nick Saban entered Caitlin de Bore. Not a good
year in Alabama, you know. Standards now nine to four
for the Texas secrederaiders. We'd be happy about you know.
(06:25):
Of course we could always be more happy, but it
could be worse. Right now Alabama standards, it's ten eleven,
twelve wins a year and going to conference titles and
going to college football playoffs and winning Heismans and all Americans,
(06:46):
I mean, they want it all. They are one of
the most esteemed, most privileged, most prideful, most prestigious schools
in America. For the past twenty years. You know, you
can think about some of the greatest players in the
in NFL right now play for Alabama. Right. You know,
(07:07):
there's a lot of Crimson tides all over the NFL.
Right They just a breeding ground for NFL. So I
felt it's kind of disrespectful to count Debo out for
two years. You know. I looked at their schedule. I
think after last year, you know, Alabama losing someone like
(07:29):
Nick Saban, you know, getting a new coach. Do you
think it's gonna run how it used to run with
Nick Saban, a probably the best college football coach of
all time. It's not easy to transfer to a new coach.
He's going to come in instill what he wants to instill,
you know, whether it be you know, I don't care
(07:51):
whatever it is. It's still gonna be hard and it's
gonna be tough. So looking at their schedule, I was like, oh, man,
I gotta talk about Alima Obama this year. I said,
there's no that's just disrespectful. Right, So Boise State Alabama
two teams I think, have a good year. You know,
I put these two guys together because one kind of
(08:15):
did what Alabama usually does, you know, Alabama didn't make
the College Football Playoff last year, Boise State did, so
I'm thinking maybe this year they flip fup again. You know,
Alabama goes back to the College Football Playoff. Boise State
is kind of on the outside looking in. But that's
just my opinion. Like I said, I lumped these teams
(08:38):
together because I see similarities. I see maybe two teams
that are gonna have regressions like last week with Miami
and Colorado. I don't think they have as good of
a year as they had in twenty twenty four five.
These two teams I think are still good teams, but
they're gonna be better, I think. So let's go through
(09:00):
their schedule. Let's talk a little bit about them. To
start with Boise State last year in the Mountain West
co Mountain West Conference, Sorry, Spencer, Dave Danielson is the
head coach going into his first official year. Kind of weird.
(09:21):
Boise State had to get a new coach midway through
the year last year. I totally forgot about that right
when I was doing my homework for doing you know
this show and all my research and stuff. Yeah, he
coached only half of last year, so he's going into
his first full year, you know, at the helm of
Boise State, like I said, going to the Pac twelve
(09:43):
and starting twenty twenty six seven, went twelve and two
last year, beat the UNLV Rebels, I want to say rebels, Yeah,
and the conference championship to win the Mountain West got
him a spot you know, of course in the College
football playoff losses last year though at Oregon. It was
(10:03):
an early game in the year. I remember it kind
of pissed me off. I watched that game. Boise State
was the better team for a long part of that game.
I think the whistle was wearing feathers. Let's just say that,
it is what it is. And then they lost, of
course to Penn State and the quarters the quarterfinals of
(10:26):
the College Football Playoff last year. So you know, two
respectable teams to lose to, you know, of course, two
Big ten teams. Yes, now it's gonna be hard for
for Boise State. Their schedule is always a little you know, filler.
It's a lot of appetizer's. No steak, you know, it's
a big old baked potato and a little surloin. You know,
(10:50):
I want a big steak, Don't get me wrong. I
want a big potato too, but I want a big
ass steak. I want some juicy matchups on your schedule
that I can go, Hey, hey, I can look through
your schedule, or I could pick four games that could
possibly go the other way. Now, it's not Boise State's fault.
They're in the Mountain West Conference. Now, next year you
(11:10):
might get a little juice here going to the PAC twelve,
maybe get some juicy non conference games going. But you
play the schedule you play. So let's go through their schedule. Now.
Eleven and one is the best they can do. Because
they go to Notre Dame October fourth, and since I've
already done Notre Dame gave the Fighting Irish that win
(11:34):
that week, so I have to give the loss to
Boise State. So best they can do is eleven and one.
All right, let's start with the first game of the
season Thursday, August twenty eighth at USF. The Bulls. I
talked about them. I don't know who it was last week,
you know, kind of a middle of the pack team USF.
(11:55):
I think they're in the American Conference. I'm not real sure.
But still then that's a lot long track, you know,
Boise Idaho to South Florida. That's got some trap all
over it. Man and Ashton JT. You know, not walking
through the door, you know, first year head coach official.
(12:21):
For some reason, I'm thinking a loss. I don't know why.
Like I said, shits and giggles, guys, we're having fun,
so I yeah, weird, right, I don't know that's so
weird to me. I just see a lost right there. Sorry. Thursday,
August twenty eighth at USF Boise State starts the years
Ozero and one Friday September fifth, Eastern Washington. You know,
(12:45):
they finally get to come home after that, you know,
long trick trek Idaho to South Florida. It's a long track,
and they lose and walks in Eastern Washington. I think
they're a bird to be exact, I'm not sure, but
that's an easy win. No need to talk more about that.
September thirteenth is their bye, you know, not ideal for
(13:06):
your bye to be, you know, third or fourth week.
But like I said, some teams get the short end
of the stick. It's like Boise States one of them.
September twentieth at Air Force could be an interesting game.
The Air Force was a pretty interesting team last year
from what I remember. I think they started the year
(13:27):
eight no seven, eight and oh maybe ninety oh something
like that, and then all of a sudden lost like
two of their last three or something, and then President's Cup.
I want to call it what it was, you know,
when it's air Force, Navy and Army the best team
with the better record at the end of the year,
Commissioner Commissioner, Commissioner Commissioner's Trophy something I can't remember, but
(13:53):
I don't know. It could be interesting at air Force.
I'm not sure at where air Force is, but give
me boise, give me the goes. September twentieth at Air Force,
September twenty seventh. Welcome in Appalachian State. Definitely trap game
right here, absolutely hold on one sec. All right, Sorry
about that, and I felt a tickle in my throat.
(14:16):
Had to give me some water real quick. So as
always say, in Appalachian State twenty seventh, I got to
trap the game next to it. Appalachian State's an interesting
team almost every year. You know. It took one year now,
you know, going to the Big House of course, knocking
off those Wolverines week one. A few years ago. I
say a few years, but it was a long time ago.
(14:38):
And then every once in a while, the Appalachian State,
I want to say, they're raiders, they'll they'll beat somebody
they're not supposed to. They're kind of a sleeping giant
as well. But I got to trap in next to it,
just because the week after is that big Notre Dame
matchup at Notre Dame in Indiana, so you kind of
overlook the n Appalachian State. But oh yeah, that's a
(15:03):
hard w closer than the experts think. September twenty seventh,
Appalachian State comes to the Bluefield at Boise and loses
to the Broncos. October fourth, like I said, they go
to Notre Dame. Notre Dame hosts the Boise State Broncos.
Another long track, you know, Boise to Indiana. Not the
easiest playing right now, give me Notre Dame. Notre Dame
(15:27):
is definitely one of the best twelve teams in the
country that's coming up here. And last year, of course,
Freeman's doing his thing. Notre Dame's playing at home. Easy
win for Notre Dame, I say easy, but I say
fourteen points at least Notre Dame. They're just built a
little different Notre Dame and Boise It's just you'll be
(15:48):
able to tell the difference by the end of that game.
October eleventh, University of New Mexico. Yeah, no, need to
talk about that. Lost to Notre Dame the week before,
so you know, they come home New Mexico. They believe
that's the Lobos come to town. You know, get beat
(16:09):
up by these Boise State Broncos. Octember eighteenth, UNLV rematch.
This has kind of been a little brewing thing these
two teams. I think Boise State played twice last year,
once in the regular season and then of course played
in their conference championship for the Mountain West Championship. Beat
you them twice. UNLV had an interesting year. Now, if
(16:32):
they're playing at University of Las Vegas, I take them,
but give me the Broncos because they're playing at home
on the blue field. Give me the Broncos. Friday, October
twenty fourth at Northwestern on Nevada in ev it looks
like a in w Okay. Yeah, the wolf Pack. Yeah,
(16:56):
don't know much about them. Like I said, the Mountain
West just a bunch of names, you know. I hate
to bash on the Mountain West Conference, but can only
really one team, maybe one team, make you know, the
college football Playoff at that conference this year. I'm gonna
(17:19):
say no. Like I said, Ashton Jaine T was the
reason why Boise State got in the college football playoff
last year. And if you're shaking your head, you're you're
wrong because he was the best player in college football
last year. I'm sorry. If you believe Chavis Hunter was
the best player in college football last year, you're wrong
(17:41):
because Ashton Jaye T was the Heisman winner. In my
honest opinion, you take him off the Bois Day Broncos,
they become the Nevada wolf Pack, they become the Eastern
Washington something's. They're just a team not going to the playoff,
not winning their conference. With out Ashton JC and with
(18:02):
Jravis Cuenter they only won nine games. So you know,
come on, man, let's let's be real about this. Man.
We gotta fix the Heisman and that's but that's for
another day anyway. Yeah, Nevada go to Nevada, get a win.
November or Friday, October twenty fourth at Nevada. Sorry win
there November first Welcome inn Fresno State, the Bulldogs yet again,
(18:26):
another team. You know, Boise State is a big fish
in a small pond, a lot of EH teams, and
Boise is a you know, an evy you know, seventy nine.
And if you had a ranking of Boise State, but
all the other teams in their conference are all sixties,
(18:48):
fifty eights and sixty two's. Yeah, of course you're gonna
win ten games every year. You're not playing anybody, so yeah,
give me a win. Fresno State comes to town. That
don't matter. Boise all day. Renumber eighth, their last and
final bye, goodbye. They had a nice little stretch between
September thirteenth or first by and November eighth, their second
(19:11):
November fifteenth at San Diego State. They believe that is
the Aztecs. I do believe so, And yeah, yeah again,
un nothing to talk about, man, I mean, there's really
nothing to talk about. I'd give Boise State the benefit
of the doubt. They're the best team in that conference,
(19:33):
I mean, single handedly. Like I said, if they only
win ten games this year, like it looks like they're
going to Yeah, I don't see him going to the
college football playoffs. But let's get through the rest of
their schedule. November twenty second, Welcome in Colorado State could
be a trap game. You know, it starts getting to
(19:53):
the end of the year. It's hard to focus that
many weeks in a row. Yeah, I know, a fourteen
week season two buys only twelve games. It's not the NFL,
you know, it's not an eighteen nineteen week season. It's shorter,
it's sweeter. But these are also kids. These are kids
(20:15):
that have to go to school. These are kids that
have families. Things just don't work out. You know what
I'm saying. Nobody can play twelve perfect games. It's never happened.
You can even look at my old time Machine episodes.
You can go back in time and look at some
of the best teams in the country to ever live.
They had shaky games or are close losses. You know
(20:37):
teams that you know you look at it and go, dang,
that team was ranked number one and they hosted somebody
that only had like three wins that year, and they
only won by seven. You see it all the time. Now,
Colorado State could be interesting. I know Colorado State gives
Colorado fits a lot because it's a rivalry game, So
I thought this wouldn't could be tricky, but you know,
(20:58):
give me the Brouncles Regardlessber twenty second hosting the Rams
of Colorado State Friday, November twenty eighth, last game of
the season. It's a roague trip to Utah State. I
do believe that's the Aggies. Yeah, nothing else. I mean,
I can't really see nothing else. Man, that should be when,
(21:19):
like I said, this is a team that's the conference
runs to Poise State. They will be in I think
they played in Las Vegas. I think they played in
the Raidersome Stadium, you know where the Mountain West Conference
is for the conference championship. So if they're not there
at the end of the year, I'm gonna be shocked.
If I'm going to be bold, I'll say they'll play
(21:41):
UNLV too. The team that was pretty good last year
gave you know, these boys State Broncos a run for
their money last year. And yeah, I know lost, you know,
lost to them twice. But yeah, I see potential there.
Maybe let's see m Yeah, I don't see anybody else,
(22:03):
to be honest, and I don't know enough about that
conference to strongly, you know, go out on a limb
and say, hey, Fresno State, right, no, but that gives
them ten to two, you know, that gives them that
opening day game Thursday, August twenty eighth at USF. I
don't know. Just something about that game just worries me.
(22:25):
And I haven't gone on out on a limb very
much through you know, these last what is it eight
weeks or so, doing these scheduled breakdowns that I don't predict,
these these these teams to get a week one, week
two loss, it's going to happen. Somebody's gonna shock the
world week zero, week one, week two when all these
(22:47):
non conferences, you know, schedules are going on, That's when
all the craziness happens. So I have to go out
on a limb and I have to say right there,
Thursday August twenty eighth at USF. These boys, you Saint Broncos.
And then of course the hardest schedule, the hardest game
on their schedule is of course October fourth, going to
Notre Dame, cross country trip to play the Fighting Agist,
(23:10):
you know, the national runners up. I think a team
that's gonna have a Heisman contender in the backfield and
Jeremiah love. Yeah, and just Marcus Freeman's doing this thing. Yeah,
I'll take the gold hats over a lot of teams
this year. Like I said, if they're not back in
the College Football Playoff at the end of the year,
(23:30):
I'm gonna be completely surprised, to be honest. So they
could fall off. But man, that's a talented team up
there in Indiana. Man, that's all I gotta say. So
ten and two for the Boise Broncos not enough. You know,
I'm not gonna I'm gonna say no CFP just because
there's not any mean on this bone. They're short rips,
(23:54):
you know, is anybody ever had you know, b fribs
where those ribs are just this big again. You know,
you can eat on one rib and you're full after
you eat it. With those little ribs you know those
little Chinese ribs too. You know, you have just a
little bit of meat on it and you eat it
and you have to eat fourteen racks all those damn
ribs to get full. That's Boisse State's fucking schedule. Man.
(24:18):
At Notre Dame is their toughest game out of the
whole year. Of course, there's gonna be traps here. And
there there. You know, some of these teams could come
out of the woodwork. You never know. But when you
only have one team on your schedule that you're they're
better than you, you know, on paper and should beat
(24:38):
you handily. H Yeah, I understand. It's nothing else to
talk about. Boys Steak goes ten and two, like I said,
could be an interesting team. But yeah, I might have
to watch that October fourth game at Notre Dame for sure.
All right, let's go to Southeastern Conference. Let's go to
SEC country. Shall we talk about the big bad Alabama
(25:01):
Crimson Tide. Now you're probably saying ceem big bad. You know,
you don't watch enough college football. You know, this recentcy
bias really gets on gets to meet with people, they forget,
you know, really fast. You know. I know it's technology.
I know it's our attention spans, always looking for the
(25:24):
bigger and better best. Yeah, and moving on quick, you
know what I'm saying. But you have to respect put
respect on the name of the Alabama Crimes and Tide.
Just because they have one bad year and nine to four, right,
and that's a bad year for Alabama. That tells you
how good this team is, how this team has been.
(25:45):
You know, there was a stretch between Collie I mean
twenty oh seven to what a few years ago that
Alabama was competent, winning ten or eleven games a year,
winning the conference, winning national championships. I think Nick Saban
won four or five since he's been the head coach
(26:08):
at Alabama, that's won every two or three years. Do
the math, I mean, come on, like this is a big,
bad bully now. Yes, Georgia has been quote unquote the
craig of the block the past, you know, a couple
of years. Nick Saban's gone, but Deebo can still be debo.
(26:28):
You know, all it takes is one punch for Deebo
to get you, you know. And Georgia, yes, they've assumed
the new debo roll. There. They're the bullies on the block.
They say, hey, you want this block, you know quote
unquote this conference, you got to go through me and
one of the teams that can go head to head
(26:48):
with Georgia. And it seems like almost every year it's
a hell of a game. Is the Alabama Crimson tie
Now Caitlin de Borg going into his second year nine
and four, Like I said, last year, but it was
the losses is what drove people crazy. Right at Vanderbilt,
you know that one sent college football into a frenzy.
(27:11):
I remember, I don't know. I don't know if I
was a wedding that week or something. I can't remember.
And yeah, I can we talk about that real quick.
If we're having fall weddings, it's not I don't want
to have to turn down your wedding because I want
to watch college football. Come on now, I mean, weddings
(27:33):
are overrated anyway, I don't anyway, let's get back to this. Alabama, Yeah,
losing at Vanderbilt. You know that was the biggest win
Vanderbilt's ever had, right, and something about thirty something consecutive
wins or something for Alabama gets Vanderbilt bloody, bloody blog.
(27:55):
Then of course they go, you know, the third weekend
in October, that rivalry against Tennessee, go to Tennessee, Tennessee
beats them, and then really, I thought the straw that
broke the camel's back was that OHU loss towards the
end of the year that was ugly like that was
(28:19):
oh when the lights come on at the club, ugly,
I mean wolf like. Oklahoma took them to the barn
That was the worst Alabama team I've seen in a
long time. But just head scratching, right. And then they lost,
of course to Michigan and their bowl game. You know,
that's un Alabama, like, you know, to lose in a dirty,
(28:43):
nasty fashion like the OEU, losing to a team like
Vanderbilt that they own, and then going in their bowl
game and laying an egg, you know, especially a team
that you know is very prestigious, the actual the runners up,
I mean, the national champs from the year before. You're
playing them in the bowl game and you don't get
up for that game. Woof Yeah, they have to do
(29:07):
some soul searching down there in tuscalo Loo. So I
thought this year in the offseason, but Kevin de Bor
will get his feet wet. I think it was the
clown shoes effect. I call it the clown shoes effect.
When someone who you know, you were taking over four
and they had big shoes to fill and you only
wear size ten, you know, and they were fifteen's or
(29:31):
you know, you have little feet, and man, they got
some big o' shoes because they were important, they were great.
It's gonna be hard to be like that person. That's
next saving so Cann de boor second year, I think
he's gonna do fine. But this schedule is why I
think they're gonna be fine. Now start off, of course,
with their first game of the season August thirtieth. Could
(29:53):
be interesting at Florida State. Now is it at Florida
State or is this one of those you know, neutral
site games. It has that feeling, right, But if it's
at Florida State, what better way to like send two
teams completely around, right, Florida State having just a horrible
(30:17):
year last year, Alabama having shitty, you know, a shitty
year for their standards, and then Florida State goes out
and upsets Alabama. You want to talk about some some
ears perking up down in Tuscal loose, so somebody's seats
getting warm, and then Florida State going, hey, we're back.
(30:38):
You know, we're the Florida State of two years ago,
not the Florida State of last year. But I got
to go with the team, better coach, better players, you know,
Like I said, I know it's a little overrated to
say those type of things. It's you know, kind of
the same old, same old, but you know, yeah, give
(30:59):
me a Alabama August thirtieth at Florida State September sixth,
come home, welcome in use golly the University of Louisiana Monroe.
Right yeah, U l M yeah, no, need to talk
about that. And that's an easy win. That's a halftime game.
(31:20):
I like to call them quote unquote halftime games just
because by halftime it's forty nine to zero or fifty
six to three. And let's get our second stringers. Let's see,
let's check our depth chart early in the year. See
if we've got some talent and some spots to where
we can go. Okay, hey, second strings are not bad,
(31:40):
you know. Or hey, whenever this guy goes down, that
linebacker is chomping at the bit because he went out
there and he played shut down ball in the second half.
Granted against University of Louisiana row. But you have to remember,
Alabama gets fours and five stars all the time. They're
like Georgia, They're like Texas, They're like Gahoas team, They're
(32:03):
like Notre Dame. They pick and choose who they want,
and they can get greedy. They can turn down four
and five stars just because they don't fit. You know what,
I'm saying so yeah. Anyway, September sixth, Louisiana Monroe comes
down to Brighton any and loses to the Alabama Crimson tied.
September thirteenth. Welcome in Wisconsin, Nice, home and home. These
(32:26):
two teams have had the last two years. You know,
Alabama went to Wisconsin last year, got the win against
those pesky Badgers out of the Big Ten. Now question
mark here. It's the Louisiana Monroe thing. You play a
cupcake and then you turn around and you played Big
(32:47):
ten football. The last time this Alabama team played a
Big ten team, they lost. And that Michigan team. Would
you say they were one of the best Big ten
teams last year? Now, don't think about two years ago.
Think about last year. There was probably about three at
(33:07):
least three teams you would say, oh yeah, we're better
than Michigan last year. And now Alabama lost to them. Now, Wisconsin,
we know they have potential. It's Luke fickle. I think
seats a little hot. But give them kill me Alabama, man,
just give me Bama at home. Welcome in Wisconsin. Not
(33:29):
too sure, Like I said, Wisconsin's got to show me
something this year. September twentieth by first by two out
of the first three weeks. I see they could go.
They could be two and one absolutely through here through
this little stretch. They could lose to Wisconsin or hell
lose at Florida State. You never know. But yeah, three,
no going into their first by the twentieth of September.
(33:50):
September twenty seventh at Georgia, I already did the Georgia Bulldogs. Sorry,
and they got the loss there and before Sorry, I
keep doing this, man, I'm so sorry. Best Alabama can
do is eleven to one because, like I said, I
just did Georgia September twenty seventh, they go to Georgia.
(34:11):
If they were playing at home, I would go, I'd
lean a little more Alabama Crimson Tide. But I gotta
go with the bully, the newer bully, And that's Georgia still.
You know, that's their conference. Now, you know Alabama is
you know, kind of Homer Simpson, you know what I'm
saying the last couple of years. So it's Georgia's conference
(34:33):
until someone takes it away from So I gotta go
with Georgia September twenty seventh, Like I said, did Bulldogs
already they beat Alabama September twenty seventh at home. The
Georgia Bulldogs do October fourth. Here we go, Welcome in
the Vanderbilt Commodorees. Got a little star next to it,
you know, I got a little hard next to it.
(34:54):
And yeah, this one's gonna be ugly. I should put
a U next to this game. Yeah. Don't you think
that those Alabama Crimson Tide players have been chomping at
the bit in the offseason looking at Vanderbilt, you know,
October fourth, going, Man, I can't wait to beat that team. Yeah,
(35:15):
they beat us and this and that last year had
the year of their lives. Bloody blah. Yeah, this is
gonna be ugly. Give me. Crimson died by a twenty
eighth against Bandy October fourth. October eleventh at Missoo. Now
another team, you know, I haven't really talked about, but
(35:39):
had a good year, you know, nine years, you know,
nine wins, I think maybe even ten and the strong SEC.
Now can they have st you know, can they have
continued success in the SEC? I don't know. Give me
the guys that have been there and done it. Give
me Alabama at Missoo I know is it Pharaoh. I
(36:01):
think it's Pharaoh Field, Missoo tough place play. It could
be a night game, could be the game of the year,
you know, it could be that could be the game
that people buy the season tickets for just to see
Alabama play. Right, So don't cut out of Missoo either.
If it's not Tennessee, if it's not Georgia, if it's
not Texas, if it's not you know, some of these teams,
(36:23):
like I've already talked about, you gotta somewhat consider Miszoo,
you know, so keep that in the back of your heads. Here,
and it's about midway through the season. Stranger things have happened,
But give me Alabama small at Miszoo October eleventh. October eighteenth.
Here we go Tennessee and these Alabama Crimson Todd win.
(36:48):
They get that revenge. I think this is the revenge
tour year for these Alabama Crians and tie they go
man nine and four sucked. We're gonna beat all the
teams that beat us last year. We're gonna go back
to Alabama style football. So Tennessee comes down to Bryant
Denny Stadium October eighteenth and loses to these Alabama Crimson
(37:09):
tie the Tennessee Volunteers. Dude, October twenty fifth at South Carolina.
Here we go, I got a tee next to this
game right here. I think South Carolina could make some
noise again this year. Another team like Miszoo had a
pretty decent year, kind of quietly had eight nine ten wins,
(37:30):
reeled off some games they probably shouldn't have won, but
chomping at the bit. You know, a lot of teams
would love to knock off in Alabama on a down year. Now.
It's kind of you know, picking fruit, you know, low
bearing fruit, right to go after a team that's kind
of beat up, you know, kind of yet to find themselves.
(37:51):
But I'd rather get it now than get have them
figure their shit out and kick my ass for the
next twenty seven years. I'd rather least get one them now.
So don't be surprised. I like Leonora's sellers. I like
what's going on in South Carolina. They're an interesting team,
so keep your eye on them. But give me the
(38:12):
comes in tide. That's a tough place to play. That's
gonna be a tough game, So don't be surprised at
South Carolina October twenty fifth. South Carolina could get that
upset right there easily. We remember first is their last bye,
goodbye Georgia Vandy at Miszoo, hosting Tennessee at South Carolina.
(38:33):
And they went four and one through that tough little
five stretch. Now they go five to zero. Alabama's going
back to the College Football Playoff now at Georgia, hosting
Bandy Atmazoo, hosting Tennessee at South Carolina. That is a
(38:54):
huge little section of their schedule. I think they can
It was at least two or three of those games
Georgia for sure. Who knows. Vanderbilt could roll into Denny
Bryant Denney Stadium win again at Miszoo. They could have
that one huge game. Hosting Tennessee. I think a team
(39:15):
that loves to beat the Alabama comes and tied, wants
to beat him for a consecutive year. That's never happened,
you know for Alabama the last couple of years. It
seems like, yeah, Tennessee will win one every so often,
but never consecutively, so uh interesting. And then of course
at South Carolina that's not an easy place to play,
(39:38):
so that's a tough stretch man. All right, remember first
as their bye like I said, second and last by
November eighth is their last game of Oh sorry, no,
it's hold on one second, all right, Sorry, I had
a phone call. That's That's the joy of doing this
type of stuff is life gets in the middle, right.
(40:00):
Life sometimes inhibits you from actually hitting the record button.
Life sometimes helps. Now, sometimes you get a phone call
like that and you just have to answer it because
somebody has a question about something or needs to know something,
and yeah, gotta answer that phone call. So I know,
I was just talking about November first, Alabama's last bye goodbye,
(40:22):
like I said, tough stretch of games between there and
their last by so go aing into their last little
section of the season November eighth. Here we go. Welcome
in LSU. Now, this isn't the same type of rivalry
that it used to be. I know, you remember the
last miles, you know, Nick Saban, you know ones that
(40:45):
we used to have back in the day. There was
some really good LSU Alabama rivalries. It's kind of lost
its flavor, you know, so to speak. So not that. Yeah,
of course it's gonna want to watch this game. Don't
get me wrong. LSU coming to Brian any stadium gives
you some nostalgic vibes. But I don't know, man, if
(41:11):
it was at LSU, I would give. I'd give the
Bayou Bengals to win. I just I don't know about
LSU this year. I do not know. I think it's
a Brian Kelly thing. I really truly do. He left
Notre Dame and because he said, I can't recruit. You know,
I can't get the best players in the country. You know,
(41:34):
Notre Dame's harder school to get into. And then look,
you know, a couple of years after he's gone, Notre
Dame makes it to the national championship. Right now incomes
Brian Kelly at LSU and they're just still just an
average team. Maybe it's a Brian Kelly problem. I think
he's too old school. I think that's why Nick Saban retired.
(41:56):
These old school coaches, man, they just don't last their hearts.
They have health problems because they yell cuts screen. You know,
I have all these heart problems, health homes, like I said,
and they just can't do it like they used to.
So give me the Alabama Crimson tied to beat the
Bayou angles November eighth, Remember fifteenth, Oh you comes to town.
(42:19):
I've already done the Sooners of Oklahoma, and I predicted
Oklahoma goes to Bryant Denny and wins, lose. I have
a win next year. So let me trying to figure
out what this is. Yeah, Oklahoma goes to Obama and loses.
(42:41):
So Alabama gets the plan. So I had it right.
November fifteenth, Yeah, oh you goes to Brian Denny. It's
a hard place to play. I think, like I said,
this is a different year for Alabama. So they beat
Oklahoma at home November fifteenth, and Bryant Denny Alabama's rolling
November twenty second. See it a lot with SEC schools,
(43:02):
you know, a lot of these schedules. Second last week
of the season is their last non conference game. Can't
stand it. You don't want to see the week before
rivalry week Alabama playing ei U, EIU that Eastern Indiana University?
(43:25):
Is that Eastern India University? I don't know, and I
don't care. Give me Alabama gosh, I wish. That's one
thing I hate, and there's two things I hate. It's
their eight game conference schedule, and it's that freaking last second,
(43:47):
last week of this season, playing non conference games. It's
freaking annoying anyway. November twenty second Eau YadA YadA, Alabima
and Alabama beats the another halftime game. YadA, YadA, YadA.
November twenty ninth, last week of the season. It's the
Iron Bowl. It's always that Saturday after the Thanksgiving at Auburn.
(44:08):
Got a question mark next to it, got a tea
next to it, got an R next to it. Another
one kind of has lost its luster the last couple
of years. This is not the kick six you know,
Auburn Alabama Iron Bowl. This isn't the Cam Newton you
know Alabama rivalry like it used to be. It's kind
(44:30):
of lost its luster now. Two teams kind of breaking
a new head coaches. So I do believe that's Hugh
Freese that's down there in Auburn, and I think he's
going into it second or third year. Now. This could
be the start of something really beautiful to look forward
to for the next ten to fifteen years. If these
two teams you don't continue to have success. But I
(44:53):
don't know, Interroestine, you know what, I'm gonna beat Ballsy
Alabama ghos to Jordan Hare loses to the Auburn Tigers
and Iron Bowl November twenty ninth. There we go. Looks
(45:16):
like another ten and two, just like the Boise State
broncos I just did a little while ago. Now you're
probably saying, see him. That's not as easy a schedule
as you thought. No, it's really not. There's some pretty
tough ones in here. But it's the question marks with me.
(45:37):
You know, is Auburn gonna be good? Is OHU is
by the time do they play you know November fifteenth,
Is Brent Vennable still their coach? You know? Oh, you
could be on a roll by that time going into
the last couple of weeks of the season. A team
like LSU can recruit with the best of them, has
really good players. Are they gonna have a good year?
(46:00):
South Carolina another wildcard? Tennessee wild Card at MISSOO wild Card.
The only guarantee game on this schedule to where I
know what I'm gonna get. September twenty seventh, Alabama at Georgia.
I know what I'm gonna get. I'm gonna get a knockout,
drag out fly Alabama usually raises you know, to their competition.
(46:24):
You know, I've seen you see it all time. But
all these other games, their fifty to fifties, you know, Yeah,
Alabama's gonna be you know, their depth chart. Yeah, you know,
give me their roster, you know, they give me their
coach some of them. Sure, but s sometimes, man, the
better team loses, So don't be surprised. That's I mean
(46:48):
ceiling absolutely, eleven and one. Absolutely, I could definitely see
Alabama just you know, hated that feeling of last year,
just been chomping at the bit to get on the
field this year. Now floor a lot like last year,
maybe even eight and four, seven and five. Let's not
(47:12):
forget that at Florida State at the first of the year.
Let's not forget that September thirteenth game hosting Wisconsin. Don't
forget about that. You know, there's some interesting non conference
games two out of the four at least that Alabama
has to deal with. So oh, man, eleven and one
(47:34):
put them in the playoff. Ten and two, well, yeah,
why not. I'll see about it. I'll look more into it.
But yeah, I got them going ten and two. Yeah,
that's another good team. Like I said, great players, We
shall see. Right. So that was Boise State and Alabama
teams seventeen and eighteen, respectively. I got teams nineteen and
(48:00):
twenty for you guys next week. It's gonna be a
good one. It's gonna be a juicy one. I'm gonna
call it the Darlings of twenty twenty five twenty twenty six.
I'm gonna predict two teams that are going to be
the Georgia Techs of college football next year. To the
(48:20):
Indiana Hoosiers of twenty twenty five twenty twenty six, the
Arizona State sun Devils of twenty twenty five twenty twenty six.
I'm looking into the future, y'all, and I got these
two teams doing great things. Good coaching, did well in
the transfer portal, can make some noise in their respective conferences,
(48:44):
because I think at least one of them that conference
is up in the air now. The other one gonna
be an uphill battle. Of course. I'm talking about the
Illinois fighting Alina led by Brett Beilama. I've been a
Brett Bilama fan for a long time, and actually it's
ironic how I became a Brett Bielama fan. A long
(49:07):
time ago, he was the head coach of Arkansas and
went to an Arkansas Texas Tech game, an old Southwest
Conference game. But this is of course, you know SEC
versus Big twelve here in Lubbock at the Jones. Arkansas
came into our stadium and completely blasted us accumulatory four
(49:29):
or five hundred rushing yards. I mean, Brett Beilama said,
you guys can't stop the run, and I'm gonna run
it down your throats, and he did, and he whooped
our butt and I went I liked that coach. Of course,
after I finally cal him down and I wasn't so
pissed anymore, but I was like, that's a good coach.
(49:49):
I like his style, absolutely loved his style. And Brett
Vieloma did some great things last year. One of the
few teams to be South Carolina. I know it was
in that Bowl game. But if there's one team that
has that Indiana like kind of coming from the you know,
around the corner kind of peeking, just kind of you know, hey,
(50:11):
they're getting talked about. Don't get me wrong, They're not
gonna sneak up on anybody. But if you're not talking
about the Penn States. And you're not talking about Ohio State,
if you're not talking about Michigan, if you're not talking
about some of these great teams in the Big Ten,
like you know, Oregon. How about we throw in a
wild card. We'll call it wildcard the last nineteen and teens,
(50:33):
nineteen and twenty, we're gonna call it wildcard teams. Teams
that are gonna you know, they're front and stage. You know,
the the lights are gonna be bright. Now the other
team near and dear to my heart, of course, I'm
talking about my Texas Tech Red Raiders. Now you're probably saying,
cm you do this every year. You have to do.
(50:55):
You have to talk about Texas Tech. They're your team,
that's where you live. You're a diehard Red Raider. Absolutely,
I think this year's a little different. Now saying that
the kool aid is a little too tempting for me
to not drink it. It's the SpongeBob, you know, where
he goes and visits what's her name, and there's no
(51:17):
water and he's starting to get drink, you know, dry,
and you can see, you know, and there's that cool
cup of water sitting on the table, and that's the
transfer portal. That's all the money being spent. That's a
coach going into the fourth year. You got like double
(51:38):
digit returning starters. You got the number one transfer portal
class in all of the NCAA. That big old glass
a kool aid. It's ice cold, it's one hundred and
ten degrees and I haven't had something to drink in
two and a half hours. I'm drinking the kool aid.
This year, I think Texas Tech makes a huge jump.
(52:00):
And I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. Go
to the Big twelve championship game for the first time
in school history. I know it's probably not surprising for
some people, and it's probably surprising for some others. No,
we've never been to a Big twelve conference championship game,
(52:20):
let alone win it. So we can be the Arizona
state of this year. And with all this hype and
us being talked about, comes expectations. So, you know, except
Texas not sneaking up on anybody this year. So I
gotta talk about them because I feel if not, now,
(52:42):
when don't waste that money, Let's go out and hey,
let's win a national championship. Right, your boy would go
ape shit I mean, not even kidding. I would probably
set fire or something. Not gonna lie, but that's they're
here or there. That'll be my teams nineteen and twenty,
(53:03):
the last two teams to break down their schedule, and
I'll think, you know, real hard, and I'll go out
of those twenty teams that I broke down their schedule,
one of those teams will win the national championship. I
just gave you guys a one in twenty by the
end of next week, a one and twenty shot to
(53:23):
win the national championship. If I broke down their schedule,
they have an opportunity to win a national championship. I'm
not even kidding. I know you're probably going. You know, Oklahoma,
I don't know Michigan. I don't know Texas Tech, I
don't know. Sure, you gotta have your big boys, your heavyweight,
(53:44):
your Mike Tyson's. Now you gotta throw in the sneak,
you guys. You know you gotta throw in Arizona State
every once so on, Indiana. You know you gotta throw
in a boise, And then you gotta throw in some
of these wild cards like an SMU every once in
a while, just someone that comes out of the blue
TCU from a couple of years ago. Crazy shit happens
(54:07):
a college football man, And like I said, I'm predicting
the two I think make huge steps in their conferences
and could be very first respective times going to their
conference championships and or going to the college football playoffs.
So Texas Tech out of Big twelve, and of course
(54:27):
the Illinois fighting a lion I out of the Big
Ten next week, and then we're gonna do Heisman breaking
down the college football Playoff and I'm gonna predict it.
And then it's Week zero preview, guys, So just hang
on with me. Like I said, that light at the
end of the tunnel and that you know, oh, it's
getting brighter and brighter, and it's not a train. It's
college football, baby, and it is right around the corner.
(54:49):
We're about to be in August and we are getting Oh.
I'm so excited, Like I said, I am so excited
to get college football back. Because doing all this and
doing all my homework and watch shows and on the
Internet and stuff like that, it just gets me going. Man,
I am so ready for college football. I love it
oh so much. So after yeah, like I said, I
(55:13):
I had last two teams nineteen and twenty. We're gonna
have We had a blast with this. I hope you
enjoyed it. Like I said, took up with a grain
of salts. You know, I had fun with it. Is
any of them gonna be right? Fuck? No? But like
I said, it was fun. Something to get us, you know,
thinking and uh, anticipating. Maybe you do have a wedding
in October and you're going, oh shit, let's not have
(55:34):
our wedding day on that day. There's some really good
games on October fourth, or you know, October eleventh, whatever. Yeah,
we're not getting married that weekend. So hopefully I'm helping
you out, you know, not just to get your blood
flowing for you know, college football, but hey, thinking about plans,
thinking about vacations. Hey, you never know, maybe you want
(55:56):
to go to one of those games, or travel car
the country or you know whatever. So yeah, have fun, guys.
