Speaker 1 (00:05):
Mmm, Hello, Hello, Hello, how you going, how you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
What did do? Baby? By? Baby? You know that banger
would be by now you know that's the intro, the
sound of the song, the theme to the College Football Function.
You might be asking yourself, what is the college Football Function?
It is CM show, just me doing me talking about
college football because it's my favorite sport football, of course,

(00:55):
and then I'm a big sucker for college football. I
love it. That's the perfect day for football. You know,
a lot of people don't work on Sundays and you
can watch football all Sunday, Fire up your grill, pop
a few tops, and just watch a buttload of football

(01:16):
from in the morning all the way until sometimes late
Saturday night early Sunday morning. So they just call me
professor CM. I am cmfunk aka cousin Mike, just the
host that knows the most. This is the College Football Function.
If this is the first time you're listening, thank you
for tuning in. I hope you become an official Funkie

(01:37):
and listen all the time. Of course, become a Patreon member.
And to all the patreot members out there, I cannot
thank you enough. I appreciate your dollar a month it
goes and helps the show, and it helps us grow,
and it helps us get out there. And we also
appreciate if you're out there showing people this show, if
you're out promoting this show, even giving likes, comments and

(02:01):
stuff on our social media's, we cannot thank you enough
because that is exactly what we're here for. We're here
to give great content and talk a lot of football
because I feel, you know, we may be some stooges,
this band of brothers. You know, we call ourselves the Avengers.
Well I call each other. I call our group the Avengers,

(02:25):
just because I feel we were all different and we
all have a hard strengths, and we all have different
things that we bring to the table. But like I said,
this is the college football function. Thank you so much
for tuning in. Still in the off season mode, as
you know, but every time I talk to you, we're

(02:45):
one week down. We're one week down, We're one week down.
This is the last. This will be the last show
in June, and you know we still have July and
then a few weeks in August. So you're thinking maybe
about seven or eight, maybe nine more shows until it
is official. We are kicking off week zero, Week one,

(03:09):
and we are all full fledged, you know, ahead, you know, attacking.
This college football season is a very short season. Fourteen weeks,
twelve games. Each team gets two buys, and we're in
it again. Like I said, I got these two special
teams to break down their schedules today. Very if you've

(03:31):
noticed a kind of common occurrence, if you've been listening
for the past three or four weeks, of these two teams,
the two teams I talk about and break down their schedule,
they're kind of close to each other, whether they play style,
whether they both got far. Of course, I started this

(03:52):
with Ohio State and Notre Dame. You know, the two
teams have played in the National Championship. And then it
goes to you know, Texas and Penn State. Two teams
that overperformed, two teams that have good coaching, two teams
made the college football Playoffs, so on and so forth.
Two coaches that needed to step up, needed to have

(04:13):
a good year, and they did. You know, last time
I talked to you guys, I talked about two darlings
that were probably picked, you know, towards the bottom of
their conference preseason rankings, were not expecting a whole lot
from them, and that was Arizona State and Indiana, and
one of them ended up winning their conference and the

(04:33):
other one ended up making a lot of noise and
brought themselves up in weight class and really shocked the
world many many times. Last year, that was the Indiana Hoosiers.
This week we're getting back to the heavyweights. No offense
to Arizona State, No offense to Indiana. I still talked

(04:53):
about you, but these two teams. You can't not talk
about call football and not talk about these two teams,
seeing how respectively they've won four of the last I
don't know fifteen to fifteen national championships. I can't really
remember off the top of my head, but we have,

(05:15):
of course, the Clemson Tigers out of the ACC, led
by Doabbos Sweeney, two time national championship guy. I do
believe he has two rings as well. I almost want
to say he does. I think one of the best
coaches in America I think is that Clemson team got
slept on a little bit last year, kind of had

(05:37):
some head scratching losses, but still ended up winning the ACC.
You can look up the ACC, you know, championships over
the past ten to fifteen years, and you will see
the name Clemson over and over and over. They run
that conference. Now, my rebuttal is the ACC is at

(06:01):
the bottom of the Power four. It goes SEC, slash
Big ten, one, A, one, b ever you want to
look at it. You're not wrong if you think the
Big twelve's the best of the Big ten is the
best conference in America. And you're not wrong if you
think the SEC is the best conference in America. But
three and four. You interjectedly put in ACC in Big

(06:24):
twelve or Big twelve ACC either way, ACC had a
very bad year last year with teams like you, d
C kind of underperforming. Louisville was eh A. SMU being
great last year definitely helped out the conference. Florida State
having one of their worst years in decades hurt. A

(06:49):
team like Georgia Tech definitely overperformed you. It's great, but
just not enough. There's not enough star power in the
ACC and Clemson's just kind of ran away with that
conference for the past fifteen years. And there's no exception.
Like I said, Dobbel Sweeney is in the top five
of coaches in the game, and there's a reason why

(07:10):
he gets the best players, he has great years, and
they're dominant. You know, you can't talk about college football
and not talk about Clemson. So we're gonna do them,
break down their schedule, and then we are gonna go too,
back to I should say, the SEC Conference, and we're
gonna talk about the team that runs that conference at

(07:32):
least for the past three or four years. That's the
Georgia Bulldogs. Yet again, another team won their conference last year.
You know, went to in O against Texas Kirby Smart,
you know, one of the best coaches in America as well.
Georgia gets the biggest and best players every single year.

(07:53):
It seems like they contend every single year, have a
couple of rings to show for it as well, and
just a dominant team. Like I said, you see the
Georgia Bulldogs on your schedule, you know you're going to
get everything you wanted and more so. I definitely got
to talk about these two teams. Like I said, they're important,

(08:13):
they're relevant, they're big dogs on campus. Uh, don't be
surprised if they're back in the College Football Playoff this year.
Don't be surprised if Georgia is back in the Georgia
Dome playing for the SEC championship again. Don't be surprised
to see Clemson playing at Bank of America Stadium in
Charlotte in December for another ACC championship. It's it's just

(08:38):
kind of foregone. Uh, you know, I would probably put
my money more on Clemson because they He'll have the
they'll have the easier, you know road to get there.
And how much longer can Georgia have this success in
the ac SEC before you know they finally fall from grace?

(08:59):
You know what I'm saying. A few injuries here and there,
and you know, who knows, you know, you could be
they could run into the Arizona State or the Indiana
of college football last year and just got to you know, shit,
the bad. But that's neither here nor there. Let's go
through their schedules, firts. Like I said, let's start with
the Clemson Tigers champions out of the ACC. Like I said,

(09:22):
led by Dabo Swinging great coach, went ten and four
last year. I think that's a kind of a disappointing.
You know, ten and four did end up winning their conference,
like I said, started their year off losing to Georgia
in a blowout fashion thirty four to three opening day

(09:42):
game and just getting thrashed. Like I said, this happens
a lot on those opening day games. One team's just ready,
and it just seems like Clemson was. And they also
lost to Louisville last year, very head scratching loss, thirty
three to twenty one. Losed, lost, los lost to South
Carolina and the Pole Metal Bowl, very great game. I

(10:04):
remember that they launched seventeen to fourteen to their sec rivals.
That's a very good game, that Pull Metal Bowl. And
then beat SMU of course thirty four to thirty one
in Charlotte to win the ACC Championship. Got a spot
in the College Football Playoff, but played first round against
the Texas Longhorns and lost by fourteen thirty eight to

(10:29):
twenty four. Just a summary of their season, because that's
very Unclemson like in multiple ways. I should say, very
Clemson like to win their conference, but very Unclemson like
to not go far in the college football playoffs. So
let's go through their schedule, shall we, and see if

(10:51):
Clemson has another great year. August thirtieth starts their season.
It's a doozy, I mean, more than likely these two
teams are going to be preseason ranked and this one
is no slouch. They play LSU. This is going to
be probably one of those Chick fil A kickoff games
or blankety blank bowls where it's at a neutral site

(11:15):
and it's gonna be a good one. I mean, Brian
Kelly led LSU and Dabbo Sweeney, that's gonna be a
tough one. It's a coin flip. It's hard to pick
a game like that with two equal strength teams. On paper,
these two teams are probably gonna be really close to

(11:35):
each other. But I think LSU has problems for those
opening day games for some reason. Brian Kelly just sticks
out to me that they just don't play well. And
if it's like in the Sugar Bowl, you know in Louisiana,
I could see that helping LSU. I just don't know

(11:57):
where it's at. But either way, I think Clemson comes
out and beats LSU opening Day. But don't be surprised
if it's the other way. I really wouldn't. He's gonna
be two equal equal teams. September sixth, Troy, they go home,
you know, start their season, welcome in the Troy Trojans.
You know it could come out. I do have a trap.

(12:19):
I have a team next to this. It could be,
you know, your little hard fought games, you know, against
a team just as your caliber just up there in stature,
and you just go all out, you know, and you
empty your tank, you know, almost week one, and you
come home and you kind of get that letdown game

(12:40):
where you go, oh, it's just Troy, you know, man,
we just beat LSU. You know, well, this Troy Trojans
team ain't gonna be able to hang with us. Don't
be surprised if this one's close, or heck, they could
even lose it. You never know. Don't know about Troy,
but hey, there's gonna be some up sense every single week.
September thirteenth, Georgia Tech. Here we go, that's conference season starts.

(13:03):
This is a Georgia Tech team that I thought was
pretty good last year and I think should have beat
Georgia in that clean, old fashioned hate game at the
end of the season and it went to like seven
or eight overtimes. I can't really remember off the top
of my head another team that overperformed that definitely. I
would quote unquote call them a Darling or Cinderella X.

(13:25):
You know, etcetera, etcetera. Had Georgia Tech. Though, Man, that's tough,
you know, I yeah, I'm gonna give them an l
right here. They go to Georgia Tech and lose September thirteenth,

(13:46):
September twentieth, come back home, get the lick your wounds.
You welcome into Syracuse Orangeman. Uh, it won't be ugly.
I say they went by like fourteen, but just for
the you know, the loss of the week before against
Georgia Tech. You know, you lick your wounds. Good coaches.
I've said it before. The good teams don't lose consecutive weeks,

(14:09):
and they bounce back with a good win against Syracuse
September Twentieth's Attorney twenty September twenty seventh, first by good goodbye.
You know two of the first four games of their
season was is against quality opponents. You know you have
LSU week one at Georgia Tech Week three. A couple
of korem puffs in the middle. But this could be

(14:32):
a four to oh team at their first bye. Heck,
this could be a two to two team at their
bye going really into their conference season, so interesting. Bye.
October fourth at u NC North Carolina. Bill Belichick, Welcome
to college football. I don't even know if he's ever
coached in college football. To be perfectly honest with you,

(14:55):
could be an interesting team. I'm thinking about doing them,
to be perfectly honest with you, definitely question Mark. Not
too sure about the North Carolina. It's argills. But the
whole Bill Belichick thing is going to bring eyes to
college football. It's going to bring eyes to the pedestrian

(15:16):
college football fan. Heck, even you know New England Patriots fans.
It's gonna it's good for college football. Don't get me wrong,
it really is. But can Bill Belichick take that pro style,
pro run dominance that he had in the NFL for
so long and turn it in and take these kids,

(15:39):
and a lot of them are kids and get them
going right? Especially year one I expect, you know, I
see some promise and Bill Belichick. But the wife thing,
the girlfriend whatever she is, the twenty something year old,
and the distractions are kind of there. It's kind of

(15:59):
like the coach prime thing in Colorado. To be honest,
so could be an interesting team, But this could be
welcome to you know, acc football. Welcome to college football,
Bill Belichick. Here is an l Clemson Ghost in North
Carolina knocks off the Tar Hills October fourth. October eleventh,

(16:20):
they go to Boston College. Not gonna talk too much
about this, John don't know. You know, I'll give me
if I'm I had a hundred bucks, someone goes, hey,
bet on this game. Of course, I'm gonna put that
hundred bucks on Clemson, just because they're gonna be the
better team, let better coach, you know, all kinds of stuff.
I get it. At Boston College, it's gonna be a

(16:43):
ruckus crowd quote unquote. But Clemson wins October eleventh, at
Boston College. October eighteenth, here we go. Welcome in the
SMU Mustangs. The team they just played in the ACC
Championship last year, and it was a close game. SMU
really overperformed. Throw them in that pile with Georgia Tech,

(17:05):
throw them in that pile with Arizona State and Indiana.
Didn't see it coming. You know, That's what I'm gonna
call those teams. And they had a great year. Can
they have self you know, success, self success, self sustaining success,
you know, prolonged success. Not sure. I don't know how

(17:25):
they did in the recruiting. I don't know how they
did in the transfer portal, not real real, sure this
is guy I got an R next to it. Could
be the start of a rivalry game. But I also
have our next to it for a revenge game. You
could definitely see it SMU going, hey, you know we
almost had you last year and we're better this year.

(17:47):
I don't see it though, Clemson at home. It's just
a different team, I think SMU. That's a long track. Yeah,
if SMU is playing at home, I give them the
upset special. But who's to say SMU is could be
better this year and these two teams could be top
fifteen at this time. I can never know, But like

(18:08):
I said, it's gonna be a close game, it could
be the start of something beautiful in the ACC with
the rivalry kind of game. October eighteenth against SMU, that's
a dub. October twenty fifth is their second and last bye.
Not a bad place for a bye. They had at
North Carolina at BC and then the week before SMU. Hey,

(18:30):
it's not a bad place for a bye. November first,
here comes Duke into town. Yet again. Another team lumped
them in there with the BC's lump them in there
with the Syracuses some of those teams. Just I don't
know much about you. I'm not gonna talk much about you.

(18:50):
You're not on my radar, quote unquote, because you guys
got to know if you're Duke Finn. I'm sorry, you know,
you could be going, Hey, this so and so coaches
on his fourth year, had a great recruiting you know,
class had a great transfer portal. They took in a
great quarterback from blankety blank. You never know. I just don't.

(19:12):
I'm not going to talk about the Duke Blue Devils.
This isn't a hardwood you know what I'm saying. But
that should be a win for Clemson. November first. Welcome Inn,
Duke November eight. Here we go. Got a tough game
right here. I got a start next to it. Florida State.
You're probably saying, CM, Florida State. Didn't they just win
like one or two games last year? Absolutely, I know

(19:36):
they did. They had a horrible year, you know, and
it started at the first of the first game of
the season losing to Georgia Tech and kind of steamrolled,
you know, Georgia Tech into having their great year, and
then you know, kind of forecasted Florida State to have
a shittyer. I just don't see good teams have consecutively

(19:57):
shitty years. I just don't see it. This could be
a win. But at Florida State, I'd say, you know, yeah,
give give me Clemson just because kind of Clemson stumbles
around this time towards the end of the year. And
I don't see it though, But this could be closer
than the experts things Like I said, you know, this

(20:18):
is week eleven. Who's to say Florida State is undefeated
at that time? Could be a doozy, But I think
that one's gonna be closer than the you know, experts predicted.
I say, Cleansing by seven. At see here Friday November fourteenth,
they get a Friday night game. It's always nice you
could change of pace every once in a while. Yeah,

(20:39):
it shortens your work week, I get it, but it
lengthens your next work week, you know. At Louisville, Like
I said, Friday November fourteenth, I put an RN next
to this for revenge game. One of the teams that
beat Clemson last year, and they're playing at Louisville. You know,

(21:00):
remember Louisville went into you know, Howard Rock and the
quote unquote Death Valley, not the real Death Valley, but
that's what they call it in South Carolina. And Louisville
went in there and beat them. So will I could
see that Louisville going to and oh but I don't know.
Was it a flash in the pan. I'm gonna say no.

(21:23):
I'm to say yes, that was a flashing pan Louisville
having a decent year and getting that flukey win. So
give me Clemson right here Friday, November Friday, November fourteenth,
go to Louisville and get the win against the Cardinal.
Week thirteen, November twenty and a second. See this a
lot with some of these schedules. They get their last

(21:45):
non conference game the second to last week of this season.
I think it's bullshit. I hate it. You shouldn't be
playing a Charlotte. You shouldn't be playing a Grambling, a
rice A Northeastern Western State Cats the second to last
week of the season. It's a you know of a
powder puff. You know? Can they lose? Sure? I don't

(22:08):
see it happening here. November twenty second, welcome in and Furman,
Come on now, I mean We're not gonna talk about Furman.
I don't even know who they are. Furman Forecasters, the
Foreman farmers. Heck, I have no idea November twenty second,
easy win, non conference win for these Clemson Tigers, Week fourteen,

(22:31):
last week of the season. This is November twenty ninth
at South Carolina the pul Meto Bowl rivalry game, trap game.
I put a trap game just because of the week
before they're played Furman. You know, could it be a
blessing of disguise? Could it be a halftime game? Could
it be forty nine to you know, three at halftime

(22:53):
and you rest your guys get ready for your hated
rival in South Carolina. Absolutely, But the competition goes up,
you know, it goes from down here up to a
team like Furman to a team like South Carolina. Now
they lost last year, these Clemson Tigers to these South

(23:15):
Carolina Gamecocks. Yet again, another team overperformed, had a great year.
But can they do it again? Can they be SMU,
Can they be Georgia Tech? Can they be Arizona State?
And can they be Indiana? You gotta be have s,
you know, have stream gears together if you want to

(23:38):
be relevant if you want to become a quote unquote
blue blood. Here we go el at South Carolina Ball
Meto Bowl. South Carolina goes too and oh back to
back years and beat the Clemson Tigers. That looks like
ten and two respectable. Again, another great year for the

(24:02):
Clemson Tigers. Yet to get another double digit win total
for the Clemson Tigers. Now you I gave him the
loss to Georgia Tech, you know earlier in the year
at Georgia Tech at South Carolina. There are some potential losses.
Could be an eight and fourth season. Two at Louisville,

(24:22):
the Florida You played Florida State at North Carolina, and
not to mention the opening day game against LSU. Going
ten and two, we'd get you in the College Football
playoff with this schedule, granted, not the strongest, but going
to tough places that parmamentable at Georgia Tech LSU kind

(24:44):
of sweetening up that schedule a little bit, fattening it
up quote unquote. That is again another you know, potential
spot in Charlotte for another conference championship and yet again
another spot in the College Football Playoffs. Four. Dabo Sweeney
and the Clemson Tigers out of the ACC. Let's moved

(25:05):
to SEC country. Show win usuff about the Georgia Bulldogs
yet again. Kirby Smart, one of the great coaches in
the game, definitely took the mantle from Nick Saban after
he retired. It's it's there's a crown and Davos Sweeney
has one side of the crown. Kirby Smart has the
other two coaches just going hey, I want to be

(25:27):
the next Nick Saban, you know, I want to be
the best coach in college football. And they're both pretty
neck and neck. Like I said, these two teams resemble
each other, mirror and each other. Kirby smartn as a
hell of a coach. He went eleven and three last
year losses at Bama, at Old Miss, and then of
course in the College Football Playoffs semifinal against the national

(25:49):
runners up twenty three to ten and the Notre Dame
Fighting Irish yet again, another team one their conference has success.
They are great, you know, always in the top five,
top ten, and recruiting can recruit who they want, turn
people away if they want, YadA, YadA, YadA. George is

(26:10):
a good team. Like I said, don't be surprised if
you see him in the college football playoffs yet again.
It's there, you're gonna see the same team sometimes, Yes
there's twelve, you got a one to twelve shot, but
it's almost you know, written in Penn that there's some
of these teams that I've already talked about are gonna

(26:31):
make it to that that final stage, you know that
that college football playoffs. So let's start off with their
Let's work on their schedule, shall we. Let's see if
Georgia wins the SEC yet again and possibly goes back
and goes and fights for another national championship. August thirtieth,
Welcome in Marshall, uh turned during heard you know, a

(26:53):
great team last year. It was definitely unfortunate what happened
to them. I think they had like a ten to
two year something like that. Nine to three, had a
great year, had some great wins, and then their coach
leaves and then they boycotted their bowl game. They just say, hey,

(27:14):
we're not going to play our bowl game and did
it and they turned down their invitation. So who's to
say Marshall has a great year. I don't know, but
Georgia opening day games at least, oh, they're going to
destroy these Marshall thundering herd. I guarantee it. September sixth,
here we go APSU. No idea who that is? I

(27:36):
could not recognize the mascot. I have no idea who
APSU is. I know it's not Appalachian State University because
that would be APST. I have no idea. I really
don't and I didn't even want to look it up
because I'd be wasting my time. It doesn't matter. The
Georgia Bulldogs beat APSU at home September sixth. Between the

(28:00):
September thirteenth and we go conference season starts at Tennessee
to Wolf. Tough game, tough team, now, I see that now,
just because Tennessee has been pretty relevant the past couple
of years. They're known to knock off in Alabama every
once in a while. They are definitely in the talks

(28:21):
of being in the upper echelant of the SEC Conference
and fighting for that trophy. You know, No Nico Alamon
Lava though, still have a good coach. But m that's
tough at Tennessee. After after now, you know, I don't

(28:44):
have a good feeling about this ell they go to
Tennessee and lose. I just it's too early, man, for
a game like that, especially with the cupcakes in Marshall
and apsu. Nah, that give me the l September thirteenth,
O Tennessee, September twentieth, that is their first buy and

(29:06):
that's that's a blessing. You look at that, going, oh man,
week forward, my bye. You lose the week before, you're going,
oh hell yeah, yeah, I got a week you know,
I get a week off. I get to get better,
I get to learn from my mistakes. And you're gonna
know why that this is a goodbye. Here we go.
September twenty seventh. Welcome in Bama, Alabama thorn in Georgia's

(29:30):
side now and of course lost to Alabama at Alabama
last year. Bama comes into your house two weeks to perform,
perform practice, get ready for these Alabama Crimson Tide. Nick
Saban's not the coach anymore. Don't get me wrong. To
Boor is a great coach. I just I'm going with

(29:52):
who's been better lately. Yeah, I'll take Kirby's mart over
to bor. I mean, I will en. They're playing at home,
so I got to give Georgia that win against Bama.
September twenty seven. October fourth, Welcome in the Kentucky Wildcats.
I did put a tea next to this, just because

(30:13):
that the game before. Those Bama Georgia games take a
lot out of each other. They throw everything at each other.
They might even be some injuries, tough, hard fout games,
and then you turn around and you say, oh, a week,
you can you can get better in a week. You
can heal up in a week. Not necessarily, I've felt

(30:35):
that before. You play a team and manly, you know, yeah,
you may have won, but you just feel like for
the next couple of days, you just like you empty
the tank. You get everything you had at that team,
and it's it's it's hard to bounce back sometimes let's
just say that, but it's still a win. I'll say,

(30:55):
like less than fourteen. They're not gonna blow out the
Kentucky Wildcats. But then, yeah, I know. October eleventh at Auburn,
I actually have a question mark nest to this. Is
this Auburn team gonna be the one that I talked
about last year being a potential conference championship contender or
are they gonna fall by the wayside kind of like

(31:16):
what they did. They were there and then they weren't,
and then then they would win, and then they'd lose.
Very interesting team. But at Auburn, Yeah that's tough, don't
get me wrong. But Georgia on paper, better coach, better success,
you know, YadA YadA. I get Auburn's playing at home,
but George is just one of those teams. Man, give

(31:38):
me Georgia October eleventh. At Auburn October eighteenth. Here we go.
Welcome in old Miss, the running Rebels. Layne Kiffin, you know,
got the best of you know this of Kirby Smart
last year. Yeah, they were playing at home. I get it.
But old Mess comes into town. You get the exact exalt,

(32:02):
you know, your revenge on a team that beat you
last year, and I see that exactly happening. Not a
fan of Lane Kiffin at all, kind of a douche,
very overrated. I hear a lot of people talk that
he's a great coach and bloody body blah, he's a
good coach. I wouldn't say he's a great coach. He

(32:24):
ain't one shit, you know, to be perfectly honest with you,
So give me Georgia by fourteen October eighteenth against Ole Miss.
October twenty fifth is their last bye. Pretty goodbye. You know,
four games since their first by September twentieth, Week four,

(32:44):
you played Bama, Kentucky at Auburn and welcome to an
old myths. There could be some losses between those two buys.
Don't get me wrong. You got Bama at Auburn and
even that Old Miss game. Who was to say Kentucky?
You know Georgia fight. You never know, But that's a
goodbye and get ready for the last part of their season.

(33:05):
Here we go November first, got to start next to
this game? Got an R next to this game. R
is Florida rival this time go to Florida or actually
they're home to Florida. But this is the world's largest
outdoor cocktail party. You played aid in Jacksonville, Florida. And
great game this year. I don't know, you know, getting

(33:30):
talk to me ten years ago and then five years ago,
I'd say, you know, the Georgia Bulldogs easily. That Florida
team really overperformed last year, got to a bowl game
after having the hardest schedule in college football. Last year,
they won at least six games. I think they actually

(33:51):
won a little bit more than that. I think they
won seven or eight, to be perfectly honest, but I
don't know. Definitely a team I'm gonna talk about. I'm
gonna break their schedule down as well. Oh mm hmm
mm hmmm. That's tough, man. They win, but I see

(34:12):
less than seven and I see yeah, I see it
the other way around as well. I am not counting
out those Florida Gators, not one bit. They should be
a lot Last year they got a lot of hard No.
Number eighth at Mississippi State. Yeah, there we go. I
do put it. I did put it t next to
this for track game. Like I've said before, it almost

(34:33):
seems like I see the same things over and over again.
But after a hard fought game, a rivalry game, uh,
you tend to limp into the next week. Now, Kirby Smart,
you ask him, Uh, you know, we're gonna play one
hundred percent all the time. It's hard, you know. I
know college football is shorter, it's a shorter season. That's

(34:53):
why these games are more important. But there are sometimes
we just kind of who you know, you're you're you're
a new for a little while because you're just beat.
I mean, you could be injured. Hell, you never know.
At Mississippi State, though, that's gonna be a win. I
don't see much from them. November fifteenth, here we go,
got a start next to this game. This is gonna

(35:14):
be a huge, huge game. Welcome in the Texas Longhorns.
Went to and zero against the Texas long Horns last year,
and if I'm due, yep, here we go. Yeah. I
have to give these Georgia Bulldogs the l because the
Texas long Horns, I already did have their schedule right
here at Georgia. I gave them the win, so that

(35:38):
means I have to give the Georgia Bulldogs the loss.
November fifteenth gonna be a doozy. That's got game day
written all over it. Two potential teams that could play again,
play could play another twice, you know in twenty twenty five,
don't get me wrong. And then of course the second
time being in the SEC Championship. Gonna be a doozy. Man.

(35:59):
I can't wait to watch that. November fifteenth, November twenty second.
Kind of like I talked about Clemson just a little
while ago. Second to last week of the Season's your
last non conference game. Welcome in, Charlotte. Yeah, we're not
going into a because I don't like that at all.
I'm not going to talk any more about it. Friday,

(36:21):
November twenty eight, that looks like Black Friday Week fourteen.
Usually that is a rivalry week, and this week is
no different. We got just a knockdown, drag out fight.
They welcome in. Georgia Tech got a star next to this,
got an R next to this, and then I got
the revenge factor in it last year because I felt

(36:44):
like Georgia Tech got ripped off. Georgia Tech should have
won that game last year. Let me look it up
right here. Yeah, forty four to forty two. These bulldogs
beat their yellow Jackets. They're old their younger brother. I
should say that in eight overtimes. If you do not
remember that game, go back and look it up. It

(37:04):
was a doozy uh just yeah, Like I said, Georgia
Tech should have won that game. Mm hmm. I want
to give it to him too, I really really do.
M hm. You know what, fuck it, Georgia Tech gets
to win that they rightfully deserved last year, but we're

(37:29):
gonna give it to him this year. Ouch. I as
bad as it sounds. Nine to three. It's just a
tough schedule. Man. At Tennessee. You always played Bama at Auburn.
You know, of course, old miss you got the red
on the Red River Pivory. Sorry, world's argist outdoor cocktail

(37:50):
party against Florida and Jacksonville and Florida is gonna be
no joke This year. Texas and Georgia Tech to give
you nine to three. That could get you in the playoffs.
I'm not gonna say that. Don't count them out. Let's
see here one two conference losses. Don't count them out

(38:12):
of the conference championship either, but they go ten and two. No,
crazy Lea go eleven and one. Oh yeah, this is
definitely one of the best teams in the country. Don't
get me wrong, but man, that's a tough schedule. Dude,
that is a tough schedule. Well that does it for me,
guys coming up on almost forty minutes. Yeah, that's a

(38:36):
pretty short show for CM. Damn. I must be getting
better or finally learning, right. No, I appreciate you guys
so much. I try to give you guys as much stuff.
It kind of give you like a recap, you know,
maybe if you're into you know, your streaming service and
you watch certain shows and at the beginning of the show,

(38:57):
it goes, this is what happened last week. You know.
I'm going to talk a little bit of last year
as well, and then just kind of of course, ease
into you know, our twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six
upcoming season. Predict wins and losses. Like I said, have fun,
because it's always fun to do that, to look forward
saying going, oh man, November fifteenth this year, you know,

(39:19):
Texas plays Georgia, you know what I'm saying. The Palmeto Bowl,
you know, November twenty ninth, you know, Clemson out South Carolina.
It's nice to you know, be prepared, you know what's
coming forward in the next couple of months, and get
ready for football season. Like I said, it's going to
be a doozy. I still have no idea. Of course,

(39:41):
I'm going to take these schedules into consideration. Maybe that
last week of the season, do a college football playoff
prediction show, predict the twelve teams, maybe even predict a
national championship like I did last year, and hopefully go
two for three over my three years. It would be nice,

(40:01):
But that's later, you know, talk a little Heisman as well,
but that'll be right before the season, probably the last
show before we get into you know, week zero, OVEREQ one, YadA, YadA.
But I still got some more teams to do. I
still got you know, six seven, maybe eight weeks left
of predictions. If I'm not mistaken, I think you know,

(40:23):
I'm gonna go ahead and get these two teams out
of the way. I'm gonna lump them together because of
the football function. I am going to do the Oklahoma
Sooners four of course, mister Ritter, and I'm going to
do you of them. I'm gonna do Go Blue. I'm
gonna do the Michigan Wolverines for double J. I kind

(40:43):
of have these teams connected, kind of like I've had,
you know, Clemson in Georgia. They're kind of mirror images
of each other. They're both blue bloods, both had kind
of disappointing seasons last year. Of course, the more relevant
team of those two has to be the Michigan Wolverines.
Of course, you know, winning the national championship two years ago.

(41:07):
They have to show me something this year. Though you
have a disappointing year last year, come out and get
ten wins this year? Can Oklahoma do it? Absolutely? Can
Michigan do it? Absolutely? It's seen they're what four to
oh against Ohio State? Yeah, why not go five? And oh?

(41:27):
Why not go back to you know, a conference championship?
Why not go back to a national championship. This guy's
the limit for those two teams, so they can pick
and choose their recruits. The coaching may be questionable, but
then again, i'd say more on the OU side on
that one. Brenton Vinnables, I think his his lease is

(41:48):
getting shorter and shorter every year, and he's got to
show me something now. Michigan winning the national championship two
years ago. Yeah, his lease is a little longer. But
you can't have another year like you had last year.
Michigan's one of those teams. It's like, hey, you have
bad two bad years. Ye hey, buddy, your seat gets

(42:11):
warmer and warmer. Let's just say that you don't get
to lose that many games in succession, you know, in
two years. So I'm gonna do Oh you and me
going right there? Now you have him the Michigan Wolverines.
I still got more to do, you know, I gotta
throw in the Illinois, and I might even do an LSU.

(42:35):
Let's see here, Bama Oregon, gotta go back to of
course my conference, the Big twelve. Talk about teams like
maybe like a K State TCU and of course gonna
do my Red Raiders, and you know, just do as
many as I possibly can and see what I can

(42:55):
do for those teams and see look into their schedule,
you know, yeah, are they gonna go nine to three?
Could they go twelve? And oh who knows? But this
is just fun, you know, Like I said, this is
just something to tie us over until college football starts.

I have no idea who you are and you but

(44:48):
you reach out to me and go, hey, I would
love to hear you break down my blank from blank
conference and I'll do it for you. Like I said,
it's all start somewhere. You know, I can't do all
one hundred and thirty one hundred and forty something teams
that you know, college football consists of Division One teams.
I can only do a really good handful of looking

(45:09):
about twenty four twenty four to thirty or something along
those lines, maybe if I have the chance to do
them all, of course, but I'm gonna do as many
as I can and as long as I can. And
of course to talk about Heisman pretty college football playoffs,
we have that on the docket coming up, of course,
in the next two months or so. We got fourth

(45:30):
of July coming up, of course here pretty soon. You guys,
I hope are enjoying your summer, staying safe, trying to
stay cool. I know it's been a freaking doozy here
in Texas, and it's just been raining a lot too.
I've noticed. I just got back from my vacations from
South Texas and it's muggy down there. I can't do humidity.

(45:50):
I can't do soggy heat. I love dry heat, the
desert heat. That's what I'm used to. I don't like
to feel like I just got out of the shower
twenty four to seven, like living in down there in
Curvill where I was, you know, around San Antonio and
Houston and all that Corpus Christy. I don't do humidity
very well. I like dry heat. That's why I live

(46:12):
in West Texas and not South Texas. So I enjoy yourselves.
Go to barbecues, go bowling, go putt putt, do as
much as you can in the summer. Man, It's great.
It's a great time of the year to do as
much as you can. Yes, I know, the heat, the
flies and mosquitos, whatever the weather. You know you're not

(46:35):
into it. I get it. I love the heat, you know.
Like I said, I'm a summer baby. My birthday is
in July, smack dab in the middle of summer, and
I love it. I love the summertime, man, because it
feels like the summertime doesn't last very long. Summertimes goes fast,
kind of like the fall. Winter seems to drag, Spring
seems to drag, but always summer and fall they go

(46:57):
by fast, man, because it looks like we're getting ready
for football season and then bang, football season is over
and here we go again, back into off season mode. Right,
So big shout out to all the countries, all you guys, golly,
I feel like I haven't hollered you out in a while.
I promise I'll get you next to next week. I promise.
There's just so many of y'all. I gotta go. I

(47:18):
got to do today. But you know, like I said,
if you have an ocean between us and you're listening
to this stugent love of Texas, whether you're in India, Russia,
all those those countries continents, I cannot thank you enough
to listen to this student love of Texas. I really
can't please tell more people. We need more listeners. I

(47:41):
want to see more countries. You cannot tell me that
we as a podcast. You don't want to grow, you
don't want to be the best. If you're not striving
to be the best, you're not getting better. You know
your complacence, you're you know, I'm not complacent. I'm always
striving to be better at everything I do. It could
be work, it could be fun, you know, I'm always

(48:02):
trying to have fun. But also I want to get
better at everything I do and learn more every single day.
If you're not learning, you're dying. If you're not living,
you're dying. So, like I said, I appreciate you guys
so much, and all the diehards, all the certified funkies
like Howard Pool patron is year double J and of

they don't like me either, But yeah, you know, you
gotta take the good with the bad, right. Like I
said before in the last show, you ain't got no haters,
you ain't doing something right. So you you know, like
I said, guys, take care, stay safe, be good people.
I mean, you know, I know it's not the easiest
thing to do. And some people get seasonal aggression. They're

(49:31):
mad because it's cold, they're mad because it's hot. You mad,
you got you know, you know, swamp swamp ass working,
you know, and I get it. It happens to the
best of us. But you know, summer nights are great.
So you know, like I said, stay safe, be good,
have fun, enjoy your summer as best as you can.
Take a vacation. You know, just enjoy yourself. That's all

(49:55):
I gotta say. All right, stay out of trouble, be
good people, take your cards back. Let somebody merge, don't
give them a finger, give them a thumbs down. Be
good people, you know, just be alike. That's all I
can say. You know that we need more people, better
people in this world, you know, not evil people. And
I hope the football Function listeners are on the right

(50:15):
side of things, if you know what I mean, and
just try to strive to be good people. You know,
like I said, we need that in the world right now.
So take care of yourselves. You know, know who you are,
know who you serve, know where you're going, and know
what to do when you get there. Big shadows to
the Football function guys of course as well, Mike Ritterer,
Terry Minifield, Goose, Graham, all the guys that contribute, all

(50:38):
you guys, Captain America. Like I said, the guy that
started this a long time ago with a whim, you know,
just kind of thought of something and it became this,
you know, the football function. Its branched off into other shows.
And of course his right hand man, Captain America's right
hand man is iron Man and that is Oh yeah,

(50:58):
they beef everybody. Yeah I forgot they had a whole
movie that they fought. But yeah, you know whoever, I
don't know. We'll talk to Terry Minfold about that. See
who he wants to be the Avengers, and he's just
as important as well. Big shouts to of course Double J.
He contributed a lot back in the day, and of
course Andy Lafon. Without Andy LaFond there'd be no see

(51:19):
him and all you guys Man, thank you so much.
Welcome you ol Goose and of course Grimory for doing
their things as well. We cannot be We're not. We
wouldn't be where we are without you, guys, So I
