Speaker 1 (00:02):
H Hello, Hello, Hello, how you going?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
How you doing? What it do? Baby? By baby? You
know that babe ever beat by now? Right? You know
you can try the sound of the song to the
college football function. You know the voice by now? At
least I hope you do. And it is that I
am formally introducing myself. I go by the name of
cm A KA cousin, Mike a k A cm funk

(00:46):
aka Professor c m A k A. Mister still your grandma,
just call me the host that knows the most. Welcome
to the college football function under the football function brand
that is NFL. I got the college game all sewed up,
all by my loansome all you know, one hundred and
thirty something, one hundred and forty something teams. You know,

(01:08):
I try to keep up with the best of my ability.
Here we are yet again. Another week has gone by.
I do believe it is Wednesday, the fifth, fifth, or sixth,
I can't really remember what day it is. But welcome
to August. We are officially into football time, right, you

(01:28):
know we've gone through the dog days of summer. You
know XFL or the UFL, I can't remember the name
of it. That expansion league you know that's coming gone.
You know, baseball is getting into you know, the fall
when it starts to get the serious. You know, you
got playoff pushes coming up for that, and then of
course you got college football and NFL starting up. We

(01:51):
just had the Hall of Fame game not too long ago,
not gonna lie. I forgot about it and I finally
tuned in and watched like the second half. Yeah, it
scratched the itch, you know, somewhat, but it was still
kind of unsatisfying. You know what I'm saying, You're watching
guys that you might not even see on Sundays. I

(02:13):
get the preseason thing for NFL, I say, cut it
down to two. I mean, hell, you're playing seventeen weeks
of football, you know that count. And then you add
you know, three preseason games, and you know, I get it.
You're trying to just strengthen your depth chart. See what

(02:36):
you got to determine who's going to be on practice squad, YadA, YadA, YadA.
I kind of wish college football had, you know, something
like that, you know, to where two weeks before the
season starts, they have a scrimmage. You know, Ohio State's
B team goes up against USC's B team or just

(02:59):
kind of scattered around, you know, kind of like a
spring scrimmage kind of and just to kind of hit
somebody else other than your teammates. You know. I think
that was what was fun about playing football back in
the day. Was Yeah, practice sucked, but getting to play
your game. You were really excited to play because you
got to hit somebody else, you know, other than the

(03:20):
same people you hit every single day. But like I said,
we're off season mode is on its way down. You know,
we are slowly but surely getting to week zero. We're
officially on Saturday, two weeks from week zero and some
actual football. Now, is it going to be Ohio State

(03:41):
versus Notre Dame National Championship quality? Absolutely not week zero.
Week one, you see a lot of mistakes, you know,
false starts and encroachments off side, you know, holdings and
you know all those good things. You see a lot
of it more the first couple of weeks of the season,

(04:02):
just because you're trying to get used to actual game
speed and going up against somebody else other than you know,
the same the same teammates that you know you go
up against every single day. Last show of my you know,
schedule breakdowns, it's his team nineteen and twenty two special teams.

(04:22):
I saved these two teams for the end for a reason.
I think these two teams make noise, and not just
make noise, make loud noises as in contend for conference titles. Now,
of course, I'm talking about the Illinois fighting a lion
out of the Big Ten. And then I'm going to

(04:43):
my backyard, literally my backyard, the Texas Tech grad Raiders.
It's the Jones At and T Stadium is in my backyard.
I am less than a quarter of a mile from
the stadium where I live. So yeah, it's to say
my ears to the street when it comes to Texas

(05:04):
Tech and what's going on here, and you know, all
that stuff is minuscule because I am so close. I
can hear, you know, I hear the cannons, I hear
the crowd go crazy if I'm not there. It's pretty
cool to live really close to a stadium. So those
two teams for a reason, because like I said, I

(05:25):
do believe these two teams will contend for their titles.
Both teams definitely coming about it different ways. But I
think every year a couple of teams kind of you know,
throw their hat in the ring, even if it's just
for one year, right, you know, last year, of course,

(05:46):
it was the Georgia Techs and the Miami's, the Indianas
and Arizona States teams that really made some noise instead
of the same ten fifteen teams that you always hear
about that are always talked about that you lump all
those teams together and say, hey, one of these team
is going to win the national championship. Yeah, it's kind

(06:07):
of a cop out, right absolutely, But yeah, I think
really big aspirations for these two teams. I think big
expectations for these two teams, and why not us, you know,
for these two teams. But before we start, we had
the coaches Poll. I do believe. It came out two
days ago, that Monday. I do believe. That's how you

(06:30):
know it's starting to get serious. They took all the
coaches and they started voting, and out of the twenty
teams that I'm going to be finished with because with
nineteen and twenty Illinois and Texas Tech respectively, eighteen of
those teams are ranked in the preseason coaches Poll. So

(06:51):
let you know, yeah, some of them are cop outs.
It's easy to say, you know Texas, Ohio State, you
know Clemson, you know the usual suspects, Georgia, YadA, YadA, YadA,
throw them in the pile. But now it's not every
day to say, okay, throw in you know, a Michigan,
throw in an smu Arizona State XX and X. Now,

(07:14):
I went mostly on last year's success, and you also
have to look when it comes to these coaches. They're
being safe about it too. They're saying, you know, hey,
that guy, that team's got a quarterback coming back. You
know six of you know, eleven defensive starters are coming back.
That coach was doing really good things last year. You

(07:36):
kind of just bet on consistency in college football. Now,
out of the twenty, of course, the two that didn't
get preseason ranked is owe you in Colorado. So eighteen
out of twenty isn't bad. Of course, I only did
twenty teams. I felt I needed to talk about certain teams.
You know, of course, your big bads, you know, your

(07:56):
blue bloods, but also throw in teams like these two today,
about the Indianas and the SMUs and the Boise States,
and teams that kind of disappointed last year, and I
want to give them another shot, going, hey, things you
know work out for them this year. Last year will
be so far gone from their mind that it's not

(08:17):
going to matter. You know. I think a lot of
good coaches will do that, just say hey, that last
year was last year. Even Ryan Day at Ohio State,
they're not saying, ho, we're not looking to repeat, We're
looking to win again. You know, that's a really good
mindset's you know, mindset to have, even though that target's
going to be so big on Ohio State's back going

(08:39):
into week one, and it starts with a doozy. You know,
you got Ohio State in Texas. They're saying the two
teams picked one and two in the coach's poll. You know,
that's they said that this hasn't happened a long time
that the preseason number one and number two teams are
playing each other in week one, So it's going to
be a doozy. That's week one. So we still got
a little ball of that, and then we got weeks

(09:01):
zero in a couple of weeks. But let's wrap up this,
you know, twenty team you know, schedule analysis, schedule breakdown
and let's just wrap this up, because I truly think
out of the twenty teams that I broke down, one
of them is gonna win the national championship. Do some
teams have better shots, you know, better percentages to even

(09:25):
get there or win their conference. Absolutely, they're the best
teams in the country. They have some of the best
coaches in the country, facilities, you know, players, YadA, YadA, YadA.
The list goes on and on. Some teams have an
unfair advantage, you know, to be perfectly honest, But out
of those twenty, yeah, I can safely say one of

(09:46):
the twenty teams that I broke down, y'ur in this
past oh, I guess ten weeks. I guess because I
was doing two a week. Yeah, so the past two
ten weeks, yeah, a little over two months. Yeah, I've
done all the work, you know, and going through all
these schedules and looking through hard little places where their
buyes are if they can get past this little stretch

(10:07):
of games, so on and so forth. Now, of course
I skipped out on some teams, you know, teams like
the LSU Byou Bangals of the SEC, A team that
could make some noise ole miss in the SEC another
team that they're always right there. You know, they do
something great and then fumble, you know, lose to a Vanderbilt,

(10:28):
you know, lose to's someone they're not supposed to, but
beat somebody that they were supposed to lose to. Now
in the ACC, you know, you got North Carolina wanted
to talk about them. Of course, Bill Belichick's first year
coaching college football going to be interesting. He did a
great job and somewhat of a softer schedule they were saying,
you know for North Carolina, so you know you got

(10:49):
to kind of keep an eye on them. The Georgia Tech,
you know, yellow Jackets, another team that I thought really
overperformed last year. I really wanted to talk about, but
like I said, I kind of ran out of time.
USC of course in the Big Ten, I didn't talk
about them. Teams like Wisconsin k State down here in
the Big twelve BYU, same same thing there. Maybe like

(11:12):
a JMU, if it's not a Boise State that is
an quote unquote non power four makes it, you know,
to the College Football Playoff. It could be JMU. You
never know, there's just so many teams to talk about
and not enough time, you know, it would take me
all of summer to talk about half of all college football. Right,

(11:36):
it's just so vast and so wide. But let's get
into it, right, you know, let's talk about the last
two teams, Illinois and Texas Tech. Start with Illinois out
of the Big ten, went a solid, silent ten and three.
Last year, just an impressive year, double digit win. Like
I said before, Brett Bilima is a highly respected coach,

(12:00):
which when it comes to my eyes and his resume,
I think Arkansas kind of did him wrong. That was
a team that was overperforming most years. But in the
SEC it's they kind of get tired of you after
a few years of quote unquote mediocrity. They go for
greener pastures and look at Arkansas now and then look

(12:21):
at Illinois. You know, the past couple of years, he's
transformed programs and turned them into winning franchises. He he
reminds me of an NFL style coach. He's very hard nosed,
he's sound defense. You know, no, let's not turn the
ball over, let's not commit penalties. I know, when you

(12:42):
think about it, that's every coach's goal, but some coaches
are just better at it than others. Just play loose,
but also play hard. And I'm big utmost respect for
brettbal and I love the guy to death. Great year,
like I said, still had some hard losses. Of course,
you look at their three losses last year, going up

(13:05):
to you know, Happy Valley at Beaver Stadium and losing
at Penn State. Not the worst loss in the world.
Penn State ends up going to you know, the Big
Ten championship game, ends up going to the College Football Playoff.
That's a respectable loss. Going to Oregon, the Big Ten

(13:26):
champion last year. Had two hard places to play as well,
Addson and of course Happy Valley Beaver Stadium. But this
one was the one that's the head scratcher. At home
to Minnesota. That's the Illinois problem. That's the Texas Tech problem,
that's the Old miss problem. Good teams don't fumble those

(13:48):
those games that they're not supposed to lose to. Texas
Tech does the same thing. Been a Texas Tech fan
pretty much my whole life since I was a lad,
and that's what we always do. Beat the number five
team in the country at their house and then come
home and lose to I don't know, Baylor. You know,

(14:11):
there was a lot of times in the past we
owned Baylor. You know, that's what Texas Tech would do.
It seems like that's what Illinois kind of does too.
It's kind of like the Old Miss problem in the SEC.
I think every conference has a team that every single year, Yeah,
can a mass talent, can have a good schedule, can
still win eight, nine, ten games a year. But they

(14:34):
always go, you know, here's the spotlight. You know, hey,
can Texas Tech finally do it? Can Illinois finally do
it this year? Can All Miss finally do it this year?
And then they go, oh, they lost to blanketty blank
by fourteen at home, and you go, what the hell?
And we played so great, you know, two weeks ago

(14:55):
at Norman. Sorry to bring you know up old stuff, Mike.
I know you're probably shaking your head right now, but
that's the Texas Tech thing to do. That's what some
of these teams do over and over and over again. Now,
that was the loss. Like I said, that was head
scratching for Illinois that they can't they want to contend
for the Big Ten this year, you got to win

(15:17):
that game. Losing two games a year to respectable programs
like Penn State and of course, Oregon, that's respectable, but
the Big Ten got stronger. We've all known that, right,
So and then that South Carolina game and their bowl,
A good South Carolina team. I felt that that was
probably one of the better bowl scenarios bowl matchups because

(15:39):
I even put it in my best ranked you know,
bowl games last year going into it, and it was close,
a nice, hard fought battle. Illinois comes out on top.
You know, there's nothing like capping off a good season
after a good bowl win against a really good team,
especially like South Carolina. Now, sixteen returning starters coming back

(16:02):
for this Illinois team, most in the Big Ten. That
means something that's familiarity. That's looking over to your left,
lookt over to your right, your quarterback, ride receiver, you know,
defensive end, safeties. That's huge to have familiarity with the

(16:23):
same guys that you've played with last year. So keep
an eye on that. Like I said, most in the
Big Ten, impressive. You got nine returning off offensive starters
and seven defense. I mean, that's pretty even for a
good coach like Brett Bielima. I know it's hard to
just go, okay, let's fix this s depth chart. When

(16:43):
you have nine spots pretty much sewn up, and then
seven on your defense. All you need is four and
two on their respective sides of the ball. That's a
good offseason. Now we'll see now also why I'm predicting
ill to have a good year as well. No Penn
State this year. They don't play Michigan, and like I said,

(17:06):
I've broken Michigan's you know, scheduled down. I do believe
they will bounce back. They will not have a year
like they had last last year. And they don't play
Oregon this year as well, Illinois, so that opens up
a little spot. You know, you can't play all the
big boys every single year, and those monster conferences like

(17:28):
you have in the Big Ten sec the heck even
acc in Big twelve. There's there's gonna be years that
you're not gonna play somebody. So let's get through their
schedule shadowing. Let's see how many wins this Illinois fighting
Alli and I are gonna have and see if they
can contend for the Big Ten title. Friday, August twenty ninth,
that their season opener. They welcome in Western Illinois. No

(17:52):
need to talk much about that. It's a very common
occurrence in college football. Besides the Texas, you know, Ohio Day,
Florida State, Alabama. They're gonna have those juicy matchups, but
there's only a handful of them. The rest of the
teams in the country gotta play Western Illinois and Arkansas,
Pine Bluff and Grambling and Charlotte and you know all

(18:15):
these Northeastern Southwest State Bobcats. You know it's gonna happen.
So warm up game, halftime game, go out and wax
Western Illinois by forty nine. You're ready for the next week.
September sixth at Duke. Not the hardest game, of course,
it's up in class absolutely, you know, go from a

(18:36):
Western Illinois to a Duke on the road. Definitely have
trap game potential here. But like I said, this is
a different team this year. I think, and I really
do think this team can contend in the Big Ten.
So that's a win. September sixth at Duke. September thirteenth,
come back home face Western Michigan. I do believe that's

(18:57):
the Broncos or Bronchos. Can't really remember. But like I said,
it doesn't really matter. It's a team like Western Illinois,
smaller infearor team not quite a half time game, but
at least three quarters, right, and that's a win. September
thirteenth hosting Western Michigan. Now September twentieth at Indiana. Done

(19:21):
Indiana already, and of course Indiana beats these Illinois Fighting ALIONI.
So that's a loss there. Now. You would think after
ten weeks of doing this, I would get this, right,
best Illinois can do is eleven to one, and that's
their only loss. And I'll show you the other team
that they beat or the team that they beat here

(19:42):
in a few seconds. So September twentieth at Indiana, that's
an l but that's a respectable loss that's not going
to necessarily hurt you at the end of the year. Yeah,
a couple of conference louces will hurt you going necessarily
to Lucas Oil Stadium, you know, to play for that
Big Ten championship. But who's to say Indiana's gonna have

(20:04):
the year like they had last year? Right? So I
just think it's too early for Illinois to go to Indiana,
a team that's a little more put together than the
Illinois Fighting Lion, and I I just think Indiana wins
that game. September twentieth. All right, September twenty seventh, Welcome USC.
That's a long trek from California to Illinois. That's I

(20:28):
think it's Champagne. Where is that Syracuse? I don't know.
I want to say Champagne. Not sure. But either way,
like I said, I don't have high admirations or any
real conversation about USC this year. I think they could
shock some people, but I think the Lincoln Riley magic

(20:50):
has kind of run away and it's kind of worn off.
I think people are just kind of going, you know.
I think it was as players that made him better
than vice versa. So I'll have to see about USC.
But give me Illinois at home hosting the Trojans. Now
Illinois going to South you know, South Cala, California, that

(21:10):
could be a different story. But yeah, give me the
home team. Illinois beat USC September twenty seventh, October fourth
at Purdue. Now have a trap game here, definitely. At
Purdue is just one of those damn teams. Man, there
are just a thorn in your side. They could be

(21:32):
oh to eight and you're playing in week ten after
you've already had a bye, of course, and they play
amazing it's this it's weirdest shit, especially at Purdue. Yeah
give me Illinois, but I'm gonna say closer than the
experts think. October eleventh already did this team. Ohio State

(21:54):
goes to Illinois to face, you know, the face that
he's fighting a lion I for the Illaba Trophy. You know,
two teams definitely don't like each other. It doesn't have
that same hate factor like a Michigan Ohio State. You know,
a Texas ou that trifecta trifecta of hate in Florida.
But these two teams definitely don't like each other. Now

(22:16):
that rivalry is a little one sided, especially probably the
last twenty years, but every once in a while, Illinois
will sneak one in there, and this is the one
that they get. They host Ohio State, the buck guys
come into town and lose to Illinois, because I already
did Ohio State. So that is a win right there.

(22:37):
October eighteenth is their first buy great buye. When you
think of their last four games, two of them are
teams that finished at the top of the Big Ten
last year, and then you have a lumped in usc
that could be a storm breaker going into the Big
Ten for I do believe their second year, but so

(23:00):
Lincoln Riley's third you're at USC Sometimes that's when the
Bowl breaks for coaches going into the third year because
they can finally really get their own players, like they've
really recruited and now they know what they have instead
of having to deal with somebody else's players, they have
their own now. So that could be an interesting And

(23:21):
then though the in that random at Perdue game, in
that tough little four game stretch, that's that's a good
time for a buye. You're gonna need to definitely recharge
your batteries after at least three out of the four
of those games for sure. October twenty fifth, have two
weeks to prepare for Washington. You're going up to Husky
Stadium to play the Huskies. Tough, Yeah, definitely tough. That's

(23:45):
a long track again, you know, Illinois to Washington. You're
pretty much going three quarters of the way across country.
Now I gotta try a game next to it. But
Brett Bielima, you know he's got that Andy Reid factor. Uh,
give me a week, give me an extra week to
prepare for you, and we're gonna beat you. And I

(24:07):
seriously think that going in to October twenty fifth, Yeah,
at Washington, Illinois gets to win. Wouldn't be surprised if
Washington was a favorite in that one though, either. So
November first, come home, Welcome in Rutgers Scarlet Knights that
do you believe? Yeah, they're they're they're bottom half Big

(24:28):
ten team. Now could they be gangbusters and pull in Indiana? Yeah,
you know from last year? Absolutely, who's to know. Nobody
predicted Indiana have a good year last year, but maybe
some Hoosier fans, right, So that's a good win November first.
But that's also that little area that Illinois seems to

(24:50):
have a problem with winning games that uh, they're not
supposed to and then losing games they're not supposed to.
So that's an Illinois think. It's a Texas tick thing.
It's all these teams things that's scary, especially at home.
You know, you kind of, oh, you're kind of walking
high in mighty nice little four game win streak, and

(25:11):
then here comes this lowly quote unquote team and Rutgers
and they could beat you. So that's a I would
watch out for that one. Remember first hosting Rutgers. Remember
eighteenth last buy. Not that great. They're both their buyes
within a month of each other. Not the best thing,

(25:32):
but you know, it is what it is. Remember fifteenth
Welcome in Maryland, another one question mark t whatever you
want to think about it. There could be something interesting
about that Maryland team as well, a lot like Rutgers,
a lot like Purdue, some of the bottom dwellers of
their conference. But you gotta watch out for those teams too, right,

(25:55):
So give me a dub right there for the Illinois
fighting ALLIONI hosting Maryland. No, remember twenty second at Wisconsin. Now,
that's that's gonna be a loss. I don't think this
Illinois team is an eleven win team, but another double

(26:16):
digit season. It looks like we still have one more
game up, of course, but that's looking really really nice
now at Wisconsin. That two teams, i'd probably say that
are probably kind of close together, depth chart wise, coaching wise.
Wouldn't be surprised if Wisconsin upset in Illinois. It wouldn't

(26:38):
surprise me at all. They're playing at Wisconsin. Camp Randall
is not an easy place to play, so you got
to throw in a game like that every once in
a while. So at Wisconsin's loss. Remember twenty ninth home finale,
you know, last game of the season, Northwestern comes to town.
Poor guys get half a hundred hung on them and

(27:00):
gives them their tenth win of the season. Looks like
ten and two absolutely two conference losses, absolutely keeps them
in you know potential, you know, Lucas Oil Stadium visit,
you know, to play for a Big Ten championship, you'd
have to also see how Wisconsin finishes their year. How

(27:20):
in Indiana finish this year? And of course that Ohio
State win that I gave it Illinois earlier in the
in the year on October eleventh, how do they bounce back?
You know, it'll head to head matchups, you know, are
relative when it comes to picking two teams for to
play in the college you know football Big Ten sorry

(27:44):
Big Ten conference championships. But of course you know winning
your conference doesn't hurt, right And remember this year in
the college football playoffs, it's not the Power four champions
get the one, two, three, and four seeds and the
buys anymore, it's the highest ranks four teams one, two, three,
and four At the end of the year. When they're

(28:06):
picking a college football playoffs. Those are the teams that
are going to get the buy. So it could be
two sec, it could be two Big ten, it could
be three SEC and a big twelve. You never know,
so interesting things going to happen with this second year
of the twelve team playoffs. But ten and two respectable
now ceiling eleven and one. Yeah, at Indiana Ohio State,

(28:36):
they're going to lose one of those. Now, some of
the other games at Purdue that could be a trap.
At Washington hosting USC at Wisconsin, there's a potential to
have the floor kind of come out from underneath them,
at least from what I think. You know, floor on

(28:57):
this one could be eight and four, maybe even more.
But nine ten wins is doable and it would not
surprise me. And it's not the toughest schedule. Yes, I
get it at Wisconsin, at Washington hosting Ohio State at Indiana, sure,

(29:17):
but this is the most put together team into Big
ten right talked about it. Sixteen returning starters. That could
be the difference maker in going to Wisconsin and winning
instead of losing, and going to Indiana and winning there
instead of losing like I projected. So it could be

(29:38):
a good year for Illinois, Like I said, they could
go who knows twelve and oh, we'll see, but that's
a good year. Brett Bilimo wouldn't be going anywhere, absolutely not.
Illinois would have back to back ten win seasons. And
who's to say, you know, the sky is super blue,
you know, for a team like Illinois. So that's a
good team, A good team if you are or not

(30:01):
necessarily into you know, quote unquote blue bloods, or you
don't necessarily like Ohio State or like Michigan, Penn State, Oregon. Hey,
give me a team to keep my eye on, just
in case. You know, there might be someone lurking out there.
And that's the Illinois fighting a lion. I So keep
an eye out if it does happen. You heard it

(30:23):
here first, see him talked about it. Now let's go
to a big twelve country mine Neck of the Woods. Literally,
let's talk about my Texas Tech Red Raiders, big twelve country.
Like I said, an interesting eight and five last year
for my Red Raiders finishing off, you know, a decent year.

(30:46):
Lost at Wazoo Man. That was a disappointing loss. And
it came right after that overtime win Week one, against
a Joe Blow team. We won like fifty five fifty
four Week one against some team I can't even remember
who it was. But we go to Wazoo and Matier

(31:08):
man just ran ape shit on him. That's the new
Oklahoma co new Oklahoma quarterback, by the way, So I
don't know if I talked about that in the Oklahoma episode,
but man, I think his name is John Mattier. Dude's
a baller. Oklahoma's in good hands man, and that's a
guy who likes to run as well. But that yeah,

(31:29):
losing at Wazoo second game of the season, very head scratching,
of course, losing the Baylor it seems like they've had
our number for the past fifteen to twenty years. At
TCU went down to Fort Worth and just a close game,
one mistake and we lost that game. And then losing

(31:52):
to Colorado that real big game. We had big new
kickoff here in Lubbock, Deon, Sanderson, town Sheder, Travis, you know,
all the big boys, and losing that game was very disappointing.
And then bowl game we play Arkansas and they beat us. So,
you know, not the best way to end your season.

(32:13):
Now here's the bright side. Here's why I'm talking about
Texas Tech. Joey McGuire. You say the name in South
Texas Joey McGuire, they know who that guy is. He
ran high school football down in South Texas for a
long long time, moved up in weight class when you know,

(32:33):
assistant coaching and for Baylor, a very developmental coach, a
very player friendly coach, a guy that when everybody says
the name Joel McGuire, they smile. He's a great recruiter,
he's a great scope of talent going into his fourth year.
Like I said, those third and fourth year sometimes the

(32:55):
ceiling really just breaks. So I see it for this
mind stick red graders, I should say, now what helps?
Also having the number one transfer portal class going into
the twenty twenty five twenty twenty sixth season. That don't
hurt either. Now here's where the talk starts, right Not

(33:18):
the biggest fan of the transfer portal, I'm really not.
There needs to be regulations on it. There needs to be,
you know, some sort of rule, you can't do it
certain times of the year, things like that, and those
things and those conversations have been and already are starting.
Now that being said, you go to a team, you know,

(33:41):
the coach ends up quitting or getting fired. They promised
you playing time, or they say, oh man, you're a
great tight end, but we're gonna movie to offensive tackle.
That's what the transfer portal is really for. You know what,
this isn't really what I signed up for. Right, then

(34:02):
you can go on the transfer portal. Now, when it
comes to transfer portal, you have to talk about NIL. Now,
this is another problem that many people seem to keep
bringing up about Texas Tech. Yes, we have a multi
billion with a b booster that graduated from Tech, played

(34:23):
for Tech. Yeah, he goes in his pocket and you know,
gives the money to the Red Raiders. And you go
out and those guys are in the transfer portal. You
talk to them, You go, hey, you want to come here,
We'll give you X amount of money. And they came,
and we spent twenty eight million dollars. Of course, with

(34:46):
a m over the off season. That pretty much helps
you get the number one transfer portal class and all
of college football. Now you're probably saying, CM, what you know,
I'm on the fence about this converse station, the nil,
the transfer portal. I'm not really sure where I stand
or you're on one side of the fence and ear

(35:06):
on the other. I'm kind of the same way. I'm
a little disappointed in people that are poking at Texas
Tech joking about it, also saying, oh, they're buying their
team this and that it's unfair. YadA, YadA, YadA. This
has been done for a long time. Look at SMU,

(35:29):
you know, look at USC Reggie Bush in the early
two thousands. How many times do you think that some
of these great players didn't get anything to co play
for X Right. That's my problem is that was happening
under the table for so many years, right, but nobody

(35:51):
that was always the hush hush, nobody said anything about
it because everybody was doing it. Now that everything's on
the table doing it legally, now everybody has a problem.
So that's why I'm just so like, hey, we're doing
it like you've been doing it. This is our first
year doing it. Why is it a problem? You know,

(36:13):
make more money, you know, right, I mean that's just
what it comes down to. But it's ballsy, and that's why. Also,
I love about my school and my Texas Tech Red Raiders,
and it's going, Hey, it's hard to recruit to Texas Tech.
You know, we have Oklahoma on top of us. We
got the Longhorns below us. Don't forget about the Aggies,

(36:36):
don't forget about Louisiana right there. You want good and
great players, you recruit Texas. You want speed, you recruit Florida.
That's what Texas Tech seems to be doing. They're trying
to keep players here and going. All right, if we
can't recruit against a Texas, we can't recruit against an

(36:57):
Ohio States, and you know, the Georgia's and you know
all these esteemed places, Penn State quote unquote, all these
other schools, we're gonna say, hey, we got money. That's
just as good. Come and play football here. You're gonna get,
you know, a pretty good education, and you're gonna get
some pretty damn good money too. So, like I said,

(37:19):
it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be talked about. It's
definitely you're for it or you're against it when it
comes to the transfer portal and nil thing. But if
you're on the right side like I am. I'm not
saying the right side as in right and wrong. I'm
on the right side as in we're being talked about like,

(37:40):
you know, we're getting predicted to, you know, possibly win
the Big Twelve, make our first college football playoff, just
because we're spending money like everybody seems to be doing
every single year, right, But that's neither here nor there.
Like I said, spend a lot of money off season,
great transfer portal class went and got all these great
players from all the different schools in the country and
just kind of created a nice team preseason top ten defense.

(38:06):
Mike sent me that not too long ago. Preseason, you know,
coaches pol topped in the rankings. I do believe we're
coming at like number twenty four or something. But yeah,
big things are possibly on the horizon down here in Lubbock.
So let's go through our schedule. Show me now before
this team can go twelve and oh, I've only done

(38:28):
one team that Texas Tech plays on their schedule this year,
and that was Arizona State. And Tech goes there October
eighteenth and beats the Ragining Big Twelve champs. So Texas
Tech can go twelve and ol, I don't think so. Yes,
I'm drinking the kup late this year. Yes, I'm gonna
get excited. Yes, I'm more than likely gonna get my

(38:48):
heart broke. But I'd rather be all in or all out.
I can't say, oh I can't be you know Hopscotch
and with my allegiance, you got to be full, well,
you got you gotta be full, all in, you know,
put all your heart in it, or you don't at all.
So I'm drinking the kupl aid Manx text doing Big Things.
August thirtieth, cream Puff. Like I've said that, there's so

(39:11):
many of these schedules I've done. Arkansas Pine Bluff comes
to Lubbock, Texas and gets whooped. I hope. You know
last year that was a little scary. You know that
that little team came in here and gave us around
for our money week on because we just thought we'd
just roll our helmet out there and say, oh, you know,
here's your seven hundred and fifty thousand, here's your one

(39:33):
point two million, you know, for you to keep playing football,
and here's a little money for you know, your basketball.
You know organization, you're all the other athletic departments, and
you know, come to Lubock. We're gonna beat your ass,
but you're gonna get a check. Now, that team last
year we played, wanted to take our money and our
but didn't. So be on the lookout for that definitely

(39:54):
weeks here. In week one, there's gonna be an upset.
It happens every year, So God, I hope it's not.
August thirtieth, Lubbock, Texas, seven o'clock. That's all I can say.
All Right, August thirty, Like I said, Arkansas Pine Bluff
comes into town. We should win that game. September sixth,
Kent State. I do believe that's the Golden Flashes come

(40:15):
to town. Could be a trap. Our second game of
the season last year was a loss going to Wazoo. Yeah,
Kent State comes into town. I don't really know much
about them, but you're still trying to figure out the Kings.
You have four games. I call it the four to
eight rule. You have by the fourth game, you need

(40:37):
to know who you are, and by the eighth game,
you need to know if you're good, bad, or great.
So that's just my analysis about how to determine a
good team. September thirteenth, here we go. I think this
is going to be a juicy, juicy matchup Oregon State.
The Beavers come to Lubbock to play My Red Raiders. Now,

(40:58):
this was supposed to be Oregon. We were supposed to
go to Eugene to play the Oregon Ducks, and two
years ago they came here, and then we scheduled the
home and home, and with scheduling conflex, Oregon go into
the Big Ten. Wanting to keep the Civil War game intact,

(41:19):
they had to drop a non conference game, and guess
it just so happened to be it happened to be
the Texas Tech Red Raiders. So instead of playing the
Oregon Ducks at Oregon, we get the Oregon State Beavers
here and love It could be interesting. Yeah, you gotta
watch out for those little scrappy Pac twelve teams Asquazoo

(41:40):
from last year. Right, interesting things happened, But we're playing
at home. I think that's a nationally televised game. I
think it's two thirty on Fox. I do believe it's
already came out. So yeah, September thirteenth, Oregon State comes
to Lovewick and gets beat by My Red Raiders. September twentieth,
here we go. Conference season starts, going to a very

(42:01):
tough place at Rice Echles Stadium against Utah. Now scary game. Absolutely,
Utah horrible year last year. Them in Oklahoma State finished
towards the bottom of the Big Twelve standings last year,
and they were picked to be at the top when

(42:24):
it came to preseason shows. You know, preseason really don't
mean shit, right, But playing at Utah, they always say
it's a hard place to play. Kyle Whittingham, great coach,
Utah is really starting to be annoying. To be perfectly
honest with you, Utah didn't want to join the Big

(42:46):
Twelve initially when their feet were shaking literally underneath them
as the Pac twelve disintegrated, damn year into nothing, they
called us a pit stop conference and then proceeded to
join our conference and then talk shit saying, oh, we're
gonna run this conference. And last time I checked Utah

(43:10):
their last their last year in the Big twelve. Look
up all their sports and tell me what their combined
record was. It wasn't very good. So yeah, fuck Utah.
We're going to Utah and beating the Utes at Rice Cycle.
Supposedly a hard place to play, but I think my

(43:31):
Red Raiders are built a little different this year. September
twenty seventh is our first bye. Goodbye you know, two
out of the first four, you know weeks of the season.
I think our quality opponents Oregon State and at Utah.
So yeah, let's recharge to our batteries. Let's go into this.
You know, the second part of our season. We got

(43:51):
four games down. You know, you got eight games left.
Let's see what we can do. October fourth, you go
to Houston. Now, don't get me wrong, that's a game
that Texas Tech would lose. Right after a buye, you
go to a lackluster team. Now Houston should be bad.

(44:17):
You lost your defensive coordinator to my Red Raiders. And
that defensive coordinator was a top thirty, top twenty five
defensive coordinator for the past couple of years. He makes
top twenty five defenses and he's not there no more.
Now that don't mean shit. You know that could change.
That guy knows that that team knows more about him. Yeah,

(44:41):
of course he's gonna go into being here at Tech
going Okay, I know what Houston likes to do, YadA YadA,
But they're also the same. On their side, they're gonna go,
oh yeah, he likes to run this style of defense,
blody bloody ball, and they kind of go tit for tat,
and that can make it an interesting game, but closer

(45:01):
than the experts think. Tech goes to Houston, wins by ten.
October fourth. October eleventh, come home. This has got a homecoming, Phil,
I think it is our homecoming game, to be honest. Kansas,
the Jayhawks come into town. Didn't even talk about them.
I talked about them a preseason last year. I thought
it was a team that I thought could really make

(45:23):
a lot of noise Devin Neil. They had some really
good players coming back, Lance Leopold, who's doing his thing recruiting,
making a lot of people go, hey, you know, Kansas
isn't just a basketball school. We're a football football school too,
So Kansas is very interesting. But we're playing at home.
I think we don't lose a game at home all

(45:44):
all year because I like a lot of our matchups
at home. So yeah, that's a win. October eleventh, Hosting
the Kansas Jayhawks. October eighteenth, Here we go. I think
this is really truly we Mono. You know a team
that I think stats up with us at Arizona State. Now,

(46:07):
we were one of the only teams to beat Arizona
State last year and that team went on won the
Big Twelve title. Should it beat Texas YadA, YadA, YadA.
Right now, that's revenge factor. There's gonna be a lot
of people and Tempe or tuson. Yeah, I think it's
Tempe circling October eighteenth because they've heard a lot of

(46:33):
the whispers, a lot of the yells about Texas Tech
going into this year, and then they go, oh, yeah,
that team was one of the few teams to beat
us last year. And we're playing at home, and if
it's a night game, I'm scared to death. Weird shit
happens at Arizona State against Texas Tech. The name Caden
Ballage Belage, I think that's his name, Kaitlin, Kaitlin Beilage.

(46:57):
Caden Belage still get PTSD from that man one night
in Arizona against Arizona State. Yeah, I think this guy
rushed for seven touchdowns. I'm not even kidding. I'm not
even bullshitt and you look it up. Guy ain't shit
on us. Yeah, but I already did. Arizona State gave

(47:18):
Arizona State the loss, so I gotta give my Red
Raiders to win. October twenty fifth, hosting the OKA State
Cowboys yet again. Another team Whoe is me? Right? I
don't think they won a single conference game last year.
Horrible year. Now, it wasn't enough to fire Mike Gundhy.

(47:40):
You can't fire a guy who's been there for almost
twenty years, maybe even twenty years. I wouldn't even say
definitely one of the longest tenured coaches in college football,
you know, the longest tenured coach in the Big twelve.
You don't fire him after one bad year. So they
have the Utah effect, right, have a horrible year, and

(48:02):
I think they bounced back. But we're playing at home.
Like I said, I don't think Texas Tech loses at
home all year. Give me the win. Okay State in Lubbock,
October twenty fifth, November first, here we go at k State.
The Wildcats up there in Kansas State. Give us fits.

(48:28):
Don't know why this has been an off and on
thing for decades. We can't figure them out for nothing.
This is a loss. I am sorry. If you're a
Red Raider fan out there listening, that's a loss. I
gotta go with what's been happening, you know, the past

(48:51):
twenty years. I don't real last time we beat Kansas State.
To be perfectly honest with you, I really cannot remember
so at Kansas State and we were undefeated. Yeah, that's
a game Texas Tech usually loses, so I gotta give
it to him. Like I said, I don't think anybody
goes undefeated this year, and my team is no exception.

(49:12):
November eighth, here we go. I think this is a
juicy matchup BYU. The Cougars went. I do believe it
was two years ago. We went up to Provo. They
beat us. There. Heard a lot of good things though
about BYU. I heard anybody that was wearing red and
black at that stadium was treated well. They weren't getting

(49:34):
cursed at saying, you know, you know mother blankers and
their mom was a word that starts with a W.
You know, things like that. And they even got treated
to ice cream, you know. And I was like, that's
pretty cool. I have nothing against BYU, and since BYU
and Utah or hated rivals, I will always side with

(49:57):
BYU because for some reason, I just do not like Utah.
But BYU is coming to Lubbock and it's already been
talked about, and I hate to be the one to
break the bad news or good news. I should say
that's gonna be Patrick Mahomes night because that game falls
on Patrick Mahomes' bye week in the NFL. So he's

(50:21):
going to be in Lubbock, Texas for the BYU game.
And he might bring Andy Reid with him, who is
a b YU graduate. So it could be interesting seeing
Patrick Mahomes, maybe Travis Kelcey, you know, and Andy Reid
up in a suite at Jones at and T Stadium No.
Number eight. Now here's the bad side. We don't always

(50:45):
win what Patrick's on the sidelines are in the suites.
Don't think that that's a gangbuster, right, that's not automatic win. No,
but the loss the week before or yeah, we will
be pumped up for that game November eighth, b Why
you comes to town. We're gonna win. November fifteenth, Welcome

(51:08):
in you CF. This is our home finale. And like
I said, I've been talking about the last couple of minutes,
I don't think Texas Tech loses at home this year.
That's a dub UCF lost a lot, They lost a
lot of their some of their players. I do believe
to Texas Tech. I do remember. I do believe Lee
Hunter and is it Romelo height. I do believe they

(51:30):
came from the Scarlet Knights, so yeah, uh gonna. I
think that could be a good game. Could be a
track game sometimes tech lace and egg on Senior night
so or Senior Day, you know, whatever time that game is,
but it could be interesting. I just think UCF is
kind of a middle tier pack at best going into

(51:52):
the year. But who's who's to say we aren't either,
So uh, that's it, that's done when you see Yeah,
UCF November fifteenth. November twenty second is our last and
final bye. Not most excited about that. Our first buye
was way back in September and we're not getting our
second bye till November twenty second. It means we had

(52:14):
one two, three, four, five, six, seven seven games between
our two buys. Not ideal, definitely not ideal. Not especially
if your quarterback's a little nicked up, your star, you know,
defensive ends, you know needs a week with a hammy
or a quad or you know, YadA, YadA YadA. Second

(52:35):
last week of the season, have your last by It's
kind of shitty. Uh. November twenty ninth, last game of
the year, travel to West Virginia to play the Mountaineers,
now another team. We beat the breaks off this team
last year here in Lubbock. But something about going to

(52:59):
West Virginia. Yeah, Milan Pusker Stadium has something weird about
it in the Mountains. I don't know what it is.
It could be the moonshine, it could be the hills
have eyes people. I don't know, but damn man, we
cannot win there. So yeah, give me another loss for

(53:19):
Tech right there, November twenty ninth. That means we finished
the season ten and two. Nice double digit win year
for Joey Maguire going into his fourth year. Not gonna lie,
it would satisfy me, but I definitely trying to think
of what I'm trying to say. I'd be okay with it,

(53:42):
but I'm not necessarily like ecstatic about it, right, I
guess satisfied. I guess is okay? You know, but this
has twelve and zero potential. Absolutely we should be favored
in three quarters of all these games at Arizona State,
at k State, maybe at Utah. The only two teams

(54:05):
or three teams I should say that. I think, yeah,
that's got that might be the same. They're about the
we're about at but all these other teams we're better
than absolutely, so yeah, I mean I love my team.
I want them to go twelve and no, I want
us to play in Dallas, win our first big twelve championship,

(54:27):
go out and make the college football playoffs, you know,
maybe win a game or two. Yes, I want to
be greedy. Yes I'm gonna win it all. Yes, I
want to burn my fucking city to the ground, because
that's what would happen. I think that's why God hasn't
allowed us to have a national championship in a long
time is because you know that lovely people don't know

(54:49):
how to act. So yeah, it could happen. But floor
another year like last year, another eight and four years,
maybe ninety three. But there's no there's zero excuses if
we don't win more than seven I think even eight.

(55:14):
If we don't win at least nine this year, yeah,
there's gonna be some rumblings. You spend twenty eight million dollars,
the number one trends for portal class and all of
the NCAA. A lot of eyes, a lot of eyes
on Texas Tech this year. So it's put up or
shut up time, you know, full pads. Pad season has
already started. There's no more shorts and helmets. It's pad

(55:39):
popping time. That was That was the best time in football.
All the all the skinny, you know players, the fast
players and stuff. They loved it when they wore a
helmet and a T shirt. But all the big guys,
all the defensive guys like me, they liked it when

(55:59):
we put on a pad because we can start making
them pop, if you know what I'm saying. But yeah,
it's getting closer and closer, guys. So that was Team
nineteen and twenty. So, like I said, I think one
of these twenty teams out of all twenty that I did,
are gonna win a NAST Championship. And I strongly go
by it because I didn't just look up their schedule

(56:23):
and go and write it down, break it down. I
piece it all together. I look at, hey, who's returning,
you know, things like that. I like what that team's doing.
I don't like how that team ended last year. I
see big things, big jumps going forward for a lot
of these teams. And then I had a couple of

(56:44):
teams I talked about, like Miami and Colorado that I
think had great years last year, but aren't gonna quite
hit those goals this year. You know, you kind of
have to hit all around. You know, you can't just
talk about your blue buds. We got to talk about
your Illinois, Arizona's states, your Indiana's and your Texas texts,

(57:04):
even teams like SMU who are moving really quietly. It's
a great time to be a college football fan, man,
and your boy is super excited. Like I said, I
cannot wait for college football, man. And because it's seriously
the best time of the year, man. And I've the
last couple of Saturdays, I get home from work and

(57:25):
I'm flipping the channels and they're a shit on TV, Man,
not a damn thing. And I'm going X amount of
weeks X amount of weeks X amount of weeks when
I can go from channel to channel to channel and
there's nothing but football on all kinds of channels. So
I can't wait, like I said, a few weeks. That

(57:46):
wraps up my kind of off season. I still got
one more show for you guys. I'm gonna combine this one.
I thought I had a little more time to do
three more shows, but I don't think I'm going to
probably gonna have to combine this one. It's gonna be
Heisman College Football Playoff Show. I'm gonna give you a
bunch of names. I'm gonna give you the names you
will probably already know, give you a bunch of names

(58:09):
of guys you probably know. And then I'm gonna give
you some names of guys you definitely don't know that
you know, Hey, long shot who predicted Travis Hunter to
win the Heisman last year? Raise your hand? Yeah, yeah, don't.
I got all day. Yeah, all y'all don't speak up
at once, right, Yeah exactly? Ash and Jint should have

(58:31):
won that damn Heisman's but I said I must stand
on that hill all damn day. Man. I'm still mad
about that. But anyway, yeah, I got that. And then
in two weeks it's gonna be Week zero preview show.
It is here, not the greatest slate of games. It's
not gonna be Barnbusters. You know, it's not gonna be
a whole bunch of juicy matchups. I'm ready for for

(58:52):
mer Geddon. I really want to watch farmer Geddon. Iowa
State and k State all gonna be a juicy, juicy game.
Those two teams fait each other. But man, I can't wait.
And we're almost there, guys, almost there. Big shout outs
to Liberia. Man, we have a new country added to
the list. Mike texted me. Actually I think it was
yesterday he texted me and he goes, hey, is Liberia

(59:14):
on your list? And I go, Man, that list is long,
and I'm sorry I haven't shouted you guys out. It's
just so many countries, man, And I know I'm making excuses.
I apologize, but thank you. I'm thinking all you guys,
you know, all you countries. If you're not in the
United States of America and you are listening to me
right now in your air pods, ear pods, headpods, headphones,

(59:39):
are on your computer, are on your phone. However you're
listening and you're not in the United States of America,
thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're listening
to just some Joe blow stooge and lobby Texas top
college ball. I can I'll thank you enough. So big
shout out to Liberia. Welcome to the long, extensive, you

(01:00:00):
know list of all the countries that listen to this
stooge here in love with Texas. But yeah, I thank
you guys so much. Big shout out to the Football
Function group. Uh, Mike greator big us man that that
show was awesome. To Zach Thomas one, heck, you told
me stuff that I hell, even I didn't even know.
And I am a diehard Zach Thomas fan. Man. Uh,

(01:00:20):
I just ballparked it to him. I just like, hey, man,
you know, he said he wants to do you know,
one player from every you know, franchise, and I know
Dan Marino kind of was a comp a cop out,
you know, maybe a guy like Larry'sonka, you know, Jason Taylor.
But you know, I think of Miami Dolphins. I think

(01:00:41):
of Dan Marino, Jason Taylor, and Zach Thomas. H even
Jimmy Johnson, I think of you know, he never seemed
right at Dallas. I know it's kind of weird. He
was really successful in Dallas, but he's just screams Florida
to me. I don't know why, but yeah, Zach Thomas
man one of my favorite players. I played a lot

(01:01:01):
of defense growing up and a little here, a little there,
different you know, positions, and I'm a big linebacker guy.
I love. Zach Thomas is definitely on the top of
my list, guys like Junior Seau, Brian Urlocker, Luke Keighley,
Ray Lewis. The list goes on and on, Joey Porter.

(01:01:23):
You know, there's so many great linebackers and that was
just my favorite position man. And Zach Thomas was undersized, undervalued,
like like Mike said, he had a horrible, horrible draft
process and he just outworked everybody. And that's just something
I think about too. You know, even I was undersized

(01:01:44):
where I played football. You know, if you're not six
foot three, six foot five, you know, two hundred pounds,
if you're a wide receiver or six foot four, six five,
three hundred pounds of the alignment, you kind of don't fit.
You know, they kind of don't really do it, can't
really do much with you. So I took a lot
of what Zach Thomas accomplished into my life really just

(01:02:08):
because it's like, hey, he was undervalued, he was undersize,
he was picked one, number one fifty four. You know,
weren't really expecting a whole lot out of him, you know,
not you know, too much to look at, you know,
size wise, you know, he was only like five ten,
but heart of gold man and the work ethic that

(01:02:28):
would you know, kick your ass and he was going
to go out there and do it every seque single
week as best as his body would let him. And
that was another thing. You know, linebackers don't last, and
he lasted a long time. Look at Luke Keigley, you
know he retired at the top of his game because
he too many hits in the head. And that's what
really hurts Zach Thomas Junior Sea that old style of

(01:02:50):
football is kind of gone away, so and it's very
refreshing to see all the good things that's happened with
you know, technology and all that and can cuss protocols
and stuff like that, because I've had a few myself concussions,
confirmed concussions, because they always say it's not necessarily concussion
just because you black out or you know things like that.

(01:03:13):
It's like, oh, you see stars or you know, you
get this, you get that, you get all these that's
technically a concussion. And I'm like, oh shit, I've had
a bunch of those then, and it's no joke. I
get migraines, I got CRS, I have can't remember shit syndrome.
I seriously do to this day, I will talk about
someone will talk to me something about yesterday, and I

(01:03:35):
won't remember it the next day. And I'm not even kidding.
It's not a joke, you know, and it's really not.
But big ups to him for doing that man for me,
because I I enjoyed that so much. Love my Zach Thomas.
And he's a Red Raider too, so you have big
ups to him. And of course I'm ready to hear
Terry Minnfield's voice again, and of course the Goose and

(01:03:55):
the grim Ory for as well. Big up to all them,
of course, Double j Andy lafondverybody that's ever contributed, you know,
to this podcast and crawled where I could walk. So
I can't thank you guys enough. And my family members
as well, you know, Sean, Matt, you know, Art and
Marci and Rich and Drew and Joe are so many people, man,

(01:04:16):
I can't thank you guys enough. I love y'all so much.
Chris do it for y'all, I really truly do. And
all the day Ones, all the Funky's, Howard Pool, DJ Cuzmo,
Big John, KG, Kevin Watson. I'm doing all this stuff
top of my head because I don't know what fucking
paper is. But yeah, all you guys day ones. You know,
if you do Patreon, you know you support us, you
like us, you follow us, you do all that stuff,

(01:04:38):
and you've been on the show and you contribute. You
do everything you can to help out this this program
that is the football function that you know, I'm just
the college football function guy. I am under the college
football umbrella or the football function umbrella. I should say,
I'm just the college football guy. It's just my passion.
It just truly is so spread the word. That's all
I can say is guerrilla warfare. If you feel like

(01:05:01):
I do quality stuff and that somebody would like it,
please tell you know, tell a friend, like I said,
If you don't like it, tell five people, and I
guarantee you at least one out of those five people
will will find me a feeling or maybe even laugh
or maybe go, man, they got smoking crack, or hey
that guy's funny. Oh that guy knows what you're talking about,
or that guy I don't know shit. You know, it

(01:05:22):
is what it is, man. I mean, I put my
voice out there. You know, I stand on my word,
and it takes a lot to do something like this.
You think I just hit the record button and just go.
It takes time. I have to make time out of
my schedule to do all this homework and even just
to hit the button and then get it sent out,
and then Mike's got to take time out to do it.

(01:05:43):
This isn't the easiest thing in the world, so it
takes a lot to do. So don't ever think it's
easy to just start up a podcast, because it's really not.
And if you enjoy it, help us out by just
spreading the word, man, because I feel we put out
quality stuff. And I've said it before and I'll say
it again. Wouldn't be doing this if I didn't feel
we were great and have so much potential to reach

(01:06:07):
so many years, Like I want so many people to
listen to me. It's not even funny, Like I feel
I have passion and devotion to this shit and I
put so much into it, and you know, it is
what it is, man, And I hope you guys appreciate it,
and I hope you enjoy it. And like I said,
spread the word and I'll get the Patreon app. You know,

(01:06:28):
got at least sixty six minutes. Goodness. Yeah, today was
a special one though, it's my last you know, schedule breakdown.
Of course, talking about my texta secrederators definitely get a
little excited about that. You know, it's not every day
you know your team's getting talked about like here they are.
So yeah, so when it went a little long, but yeah,
I get the Patreon app perfect. You know, I am

(01:06:50):
the representative of the Patreon guy. My show is about
an hour long. It is what it is. Get the
Patreon app. You know, pay that dollar a month, donald
or a month. You get these shows at free. You
get them a little earlier. Uh yeah, I mean that's great,
it's good. It could come in handy, especially with football
season doing two shows a week, a preview and a

(01:07:11):
review show. So uh yeah, you get that Patreon that
that helps out us. And you know, if you're listening
to us on Spotify, Google, Apple, wherever you get your
streaming services or podcasts. Uh, and it's free. I don't
blame you. I ain't mad at you. Just give us
