Speaker 1 (00:05):
H Hello, Hello, Hello, how you going? How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
What did do?

Speaker 1 (00:28):
But a baby? You don't have Banger reb by now right?
You know that is the angel of the Sound of Song,
the theme to the College Football Functions, all the voice
at least, I hope you do. I'm the host that
knows the most about college football. I go by the
name of C. M Aka because of Mike Aka CM
funk aka mister a k A aka Professor C. M

(00:51):
I got Aka's four days. I'm just here to talk
college football on the College Football Function. And this is
the first time you're listening. I formally introduced myself. Like
I said, I am CM the host of the College
Football Function. And this is underneath the Football Function umbrella.

(01:12):
That's just a college football show. I'm mister college Football,
mister NCAA. I hope you are enjoying your summer still.
Of course, we are still in off season mode. But
the light at the end of the tunnel is getting
brighter and brighter. Last time I checked, I do believe
we are exactly a month away, less than a month,

(01:37):
because today's the twenty fourth, so a month from yesterday
we are at league zero. You know, we got form
again that week. I have to look into more of that,
you know, as we go forward and get through this
off season stuff. But we were almost there, you know,

(01:59):
just key hanging on with me and go on this
journey that the off seasons has done for us, and
doing these shows and predicting and going through these schedules
and talking about some of these great teams and some
cinderellas from last year, some of the best teams in

(02:21):
the country. You know, you got your college football playoffs representatives,
teams that won their conference, teams that played in their
conference championships. A lot goes on in college football. It's
organized chaos in college football. There's a bunch of teams.
You know, you look at everybody just thinks about the
you know, the three main or four main conferences. You know,

(02:45):
you got to sprinkle in a Boise State every once
in a while. There's always somebody that comes out of
the woodwork. And these conferences are huge, and as many
teams as I want to do, I can't. You know,
I only have so much time, and I'm doing two
teams an episode. And I've been doing this for over

(03:07):
a couple months now, so you know, if I don't
get to your team. I'm sorry, don't think I don't
like your team, because there's gonna be at least thirty
or forty teams I think legitimately can win a national
championship every single year. You can eliminate three quarters of

(03:27):
every all those Division one teams. I think there's one
hundred and thirty four, one hundred and forty three, I
can't remember, it's over one hundred. You know you got NFL.
There's thirty two teams. Ideally when you go into this season,
are all thirty two teams really gonna contend for the

(03:47):
Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
You know you can cut that list in half almost
from the start, and that's sixteen teams. I do believe
this is my fifteenth and sixteenth teams. No correlation at all.
But there's still Boukuo's the teams that I haven't done
yet and I'm probably not going to do. But you know,
I'm doing my best. But I'm also doing these teams

(04:09):
that were relevant last year and teams that could be
relevant this coming up year as well. This one's no different.
I got two teams that really overperformed, definitely had better
years than a lot of people were expecting. And overdid it.

(04:30):
You know, I think you looked at these two teams.
You got the Miami Hurricanes, the Florida Miami Florida Hurricanes,
do you out of the ACC and you got Colorado
out of the Big twelve. You looked at their schedule
last year and you went, you know, hey, I see
some potential here. Sure I see you know, double digit wins.

(04:51):
You say, oh, I see some tough losses here as well,
But you all would also say, I don't see these
two teams potentially playing for a conference title, right, But
neither of them did. Don't get me wrong. You know
now I already talked about all the teams that played
in their respective conference championships. But these two teams still overperformed.

(05:14):
Like I said, Colorado went nine to four, Miami went
ten and three. Real good show me seasons. College football
is great when teams like Indiana, teams like Arizona State
teams like this Miami Florida Hurricanes team was good. Colorado
was good. It's not the same old people, you know

(05:38):
what I'm saying. When you see the Hurricanes, I think
of the nineties and the two thousands, of course, but
also it's more relevant. I think of their last twenty
years as being kind of woeful.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
You think of the.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Same thing about Colorado. I can think of, you know,
back in the nineties. You don't think of Cordell Stewart.
I do believe they won ninety I can't remember. I
think it was actually nineteen ninety. I'm not real sure,
but they won.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
A national championship.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You know, had some really really good years, really good
players played for Colorado, and then it kind of dwindled away,
you know, they when they went to I think it
was the Back twelve. Yeah, but I mean they were
still pretty decent in the Big twelve, right, But college
football is a lot better when certain teams are doing
good this and last year was no exception. Last year

(06:28):
was a great year for college football. I'm expecting it
to be a lot better. But every year there's two
new teams or four new teams, and some teams kind of,
you know, fall into the bush, like hom or Simpson,
you know that memes. So I think these two teams
don't perform like they did last year, and I'll tell

(06:51):
you why as I break down their schedules. But let's
start off, of course, with the Miami Hurricanes from the
Miami Florida Hurricanes. The u ACC went ten and three
last year. I had a great year. I think it
was a make or break year for Mario Cristibaal. He
is going into his fourth year. Have a great year
like that, and of course they're not gonna fire. He

(07:11):
went double digit wins now here. Here's the bad side.
You know, they started nine to zero. I remember a
lot of people were talking about, oh man, this is
Cam Warrid's year for the Heisman. You know, he's got
some players on that team. Mario Cristobal is being talked
about as one of the best coaches in the country.

(07:31):
You know, nine to zero is that that's a great start.
You know, that's attention, attention, attention, right, But he's a
bad side. They lost three of their last four games.
Head scratchers, right, you know they lost at Georgia Tech. True,
that's that's a respectable loss. We know how good Georgia

(07:52):
Tech was last year. Here's that one at Syracuse. They
were a better team than that Syracuse team. And no, no,
that's a that's a tougher place to play. I get it,
But shouldn't have lost that game, you know, that's that's
a good team, but you're the better team absolutely, and
then lost to Iowa State in the ball game. Everybody

(08:14):
remembers Kim Ward only played like the first half or something.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And you know, this is.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
The pop Tarts bawl against a respectable team in Iowa
State and cam wore checked out. And of course Iowa
State plays all their guys and they lose that. So
they lose three out of their last four you know games.
Here we go game Ward gets drafted first overall, probably
one of the weirdest offseasons I've ever heard. Usually the

(08:40):
number one pick is all being talked about, you know,
in the NFL, and nobody's really talking about Tennessee and
cam Ward, so it's kind of weird. You know, lost
Xavier Strepo, They've lost some really really good players in
the draft this past year, so it's gonna be hard
for them to have another double. As you win season, now,

(09:03):
there is optimism. If you're Hurricanes fan, you're probably don't
don't be going, oh see him. You're pumping us up
just to you know, drop us on our face, not
necessarily enter Carson Beck. Carson Beck is a well qualified quarterback.
You know, he played at Georgia I just think his
leash got real short and the kiddos were nipping at

(09:26):
his heels, and a lot of people said he's a little.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Overrated in Georgia.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
And you know, when Georgia don't win national championships, they
have to blame somebody, and if it's not the coach,
it's the quarterback nine times out of ten. So Carson
Beck transfers out he is down in Miami kind of.
I mean, that's a great thing. I mean, to lose
Cam Woord and get Carson Beck. There's a lot of
teams that wish they could get something like that. Going

(09:54):
to be perfectly honest with you, now, does it give
him a really good shot to win a national championship?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
I say no.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I don't know what they did in the off season.
I know they lost for Strepo. But it's hard to
be dominant every single year. I mean, I'm telling you,
you can have one good year and then it all
goes as shit. Everybody knows that. But let's talk about
their schedule, shall we. The best they can do is
eleven and one, because they're opening game against Notre Dame.

(10:25):
I already did Notre Dame and Notre Dame beats the Hurricanes.
I just think Notre Dame with you know, I know
the National championship hangover from losing and going back to
the bottom of the mountain might be hard for Notre Dame.
A lot of teams, don't, you know, have a good
year after they lost the national championship. If you can

(10:47):
look at the TCU, the Michigan Michigan last year. It's
gonna be hard, But I think Notre Dame's still a
better team on paper than this Notre Dame team. Sunday,
August thirty, first, they lose to the Notre Dame fighting Irish.
Like I said, it's gonna be a good game. You know,

(11:07):
Catholic sources convicts, it's gotta have that type of feel.
But like I said, I think she think Notre Dame's
just built different this year. I would not be surprised
to see them in the College Football Playoff again at
the end.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Of the year.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
September sixth, Bethune Cookman, they get to play their opening
day game at home. I'm pretty sure that Notre Dame
game is going to be a neutral site, so September
sixth should be their first true home game. Bethune Cookman,
No need to talk about that. They lost the week
before they go out and wax Bethune Cookman, you call

(11:43):
that a halftime game. September thirteenth, they face USF University
of South Florida the Bulls. I do believe now kind
of a rivalry, you know, I kind of got a
little I got R and a T next to it.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Rivalry.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
And anytime you play anyone in your state, regardless of
it's Texas versus Rice, USF versus this Miami team, it's
a little brother, big brother concept, and the little brother
wants to beat them, and it happens a lot, but
not here. Give me the win for the Hurricane September thirteenth,

(12:21):
hosting USF. September twentieth, Welcome in Florida, the Gators. This
is one of the greatest rivalries in all of college football.
You have to lump in Florida State into this rivalry
because of the three main teams in Florida, the Hurricanes,
the Gators, and the Seminoles. It's the only three way

(12:45):
rivalry in all of sports that each one hates of
the other just as much as they hate the other one.
You know what I'm saying. But I think Florida's man.
They're playing at home, and I know it's not far away.
I just I have a feeling about Florida this year.

(13:06):
I think Florida has a good year. Give me the
l for the Hurricane. September twentieth against Florida September twenty
seventh is their first bye goodbye.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
I like that buye.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
You know, two other first four weeks of the season
are are good, gonna be good teams, I truly believe so.
Another Dame of Florida now the Buttune Cookman and us
SEF Gains should be wins. Three to one is definitely
a possibility going into this buy but four to oh

(13:38):
would definitely shock me. That means they would have to
have beaten Notre Dame and Florida, and true, this non
conference season is looking really tough for Miami, so at
least that would help them definitely at the end of
the year. You know, if they end up ten and two,
they can look at that Notre Dame win, they can
look at that Florida win and go, hey, this team

(14:00):
deserves to be in the College Football playoffs. But first
by it's a goodbye. Two of the first four games
were tough. October fourth at Florida State. Question mark, Yeah,
I got a question mark, I got a T and
an R next to this rivalry game. Of course, these
Hurricanes have played, will play the two teams they absolutely hate.

(14:24):
Two out of the next three games, you know, or
three weeks September twentieth against Florida like I just said,
and then October fourth at Florida State playing the seminals.
I just don't know about Florida State. I think by
this time in your year, you should know who you are.
By the fourth fifth game, you should go, Okay, we're

(14:44):
either a bad team, a good team, or a great team.
And I think Carson Becks got his feet underneath him
buying by then. This would be his third tough game.
Don't get me wrong. I just don't know about Florida State.
Of course, I would as a safe betting man myself,
I would say Florida State's not going to have the

(15:06):
year that they had last year, right, two and ten
something like that, I mean, just an atrocious year. Right,
It's pretty safe to say that they're not going to
go to and ten. So three, you know, three and
you know three and whatever, four and something you know whatever,
I don't see it, but I still think Miami's a

(15:27):
better team than Florida State. So give me the win
at Florida State October fourth, October eleventh.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
This is weird.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
This is the first time I've seen this in a while.
It's their second and final bye. They have their two
byes are within three weeks of each other, you know,
September twenty seventh, and then a game and then their
second bye.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Is kind of crappy.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
You don't want your buys that close together, but hey,
sometimes you draw the short ended straw. Friday, October seventeenth.
Host Louisville could be an interesting team. I'm trying to
think of who they got in. There's a quarterback that
transferred to Louisville to take over for Tyler Shuck. Not

(16:11):
really that big shoes to fill. Yeah, of course, I
think Louisville went eight and four, maybe seven to five,
I can't really remember up the top of my head.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
But Louisville could be a problem in the ACC.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
If it's not Clemson, but it's not SMU. If it's
not you know, University of North Carolina. It could be
these Hurricanes, but it also could be these Louisville Cardinal.
But since they're playing at home, these Hurricanes, they're welcoming
in Louisville. I got to give them a win. October seventeenth,
that's a Friday night game. October twenty fifth, here we go,

(16:43):
take our post the Stanford Cardinal. That is a long
plane ride. That's California to Florida. That is a long
plane ride. Yeah give me that when they're just just
for the simple fact that Stanford has to travel that

(17:03):
far to play a team, you know, that's that just
takes a lot out of you and Stanford question mark
on them, absolutely, But yeah, give me the team that's
going to be sleeping in their own beds and not
traveling cross country. Yeah, give me the Hurricanes. November first
at SMU. I already did the SMU Mustangs, and I

(17:26):
gave these Hurricanes that win. I just think that's a
real true welcome to the ACC moment for SMU. You know,
the Hurricanes are going, you know, hey, great year last year,
you got to the conference championship.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
You know, went to the College Football Playoff.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
But the U is back, you know, and you know
you're gonna you're probably gonna hear that you know throughout
the year, and I think SMU takes a step back,
you know, this year as well. So give me the
Hurricanes November first at SMU. Remember eighth they host Syracuse.
Got an r for revenge on this one that was

(18:06):
at Syracuse, So of course Syracuse comes to Miami in
hard Rock Stadium. Give me the win right there, just
for the sheer fact that that's a revenge game. Syracuse
beat them last year. November fifteenth host NC State question
Mark as well. But they're you know, there's a track
game in here somewhere. There has to be. They're not

(18:29):
going to just breathe through these quote unquote question Mark
teams like Stanford, Syracuse, North Carolina State. Yes, of course
the ACC is very top Mayby, but someone else has
to come out. There has to be somebody that's gonna
be at this time. Have at least eight or nine wins, right,

(18:54):
so it could be one of those. But nah, give
me the Hurricanes fifteenth hosting Ency State November twenty second
at Virginia Tech.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
I see this as a loss. Something about Blacksburg. If
this is a night game and you're seeing man definitely
a team I thought was gonna do better last year
and didn't. But Miami's got to lose at least three
games this year and in their season. I just don't

(19:29):
see that many wins. But yeah, I have to throw
in a trap, a road loss, and this one fits
the mold, especially at the end of the year. Kind
of when my when Miami started to fall apart last year,
that's kind of the same feeling, right, and I think
that happens again this year. November twenty second at Virginia Tech,

(19:50):
the Hokies beat the Hurricanes. November twenty ninth at pitt
Not really much to talk about with the week before lost. Yeah,
you do go out and go at pit and you win.
Not really much to say else, No need to talk

(20:11):
more about that, to be honest. So it looks like
nine to three, I mean, not bad. It puts them
on tap for another, you know, double digit win total,
and it looks like they only lost one conference game,
so that could put them in the conference championship talks.

(20:31):
But some of the just some games really stick out
to me. That's their I think ceiling is ten and two. Absolutely,
I don't see this team going undefeated. There's no way.
Too many tough games on this one Flora though, floor
on this team seven and five, you got Notre Dame

(20:53):
Florida at Florida State. You know, you got your two
out of your three rivals, that big rivalry. Sorry, who's
to know about Louisville and at SMU that's a good
game as well. At Virginia Tech. And who's to say
some of the easier quote unquote home games you go

(21:14):
out and blow n C State, Syracuse, Stanford, even that
US game third week of the season September thirteenth, that
could be a trap as well.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Yeah, yeah, I think nineteen three is safe. I think
that's a safe bet with those losses. Absolutely, But like
I said, it could be better, it could be worse.
But I predicted nine and three. So let's just, like
I said, just keep having fun with this kind of
stuff and we'll move on to the Colorado Buffalo, shall we?
Big twelve Country with nine and four? Last year, of course,

(21:52):
Deon Sanders at the Helm. Yet again, losses at Nebraska.
You know, remember that game right there, looked horrible, Travis
got cooked. Nebraska ended up being a team in the
Big Ten last year, and that was just a huge
game I remember it had old Big Twelve feelings to it.
Nebraska used to be in the Big Twelve as well,

(22:15):
and it had that feeling, a nice old school rivalry,
nostalgic phil and Colorado went to Nebraska and lost one
of the first games of the season. I remember I
lost to Kansas State. Respectable team in the Big Twelve.
Everybody knows Kansas State. You can pretty much put them
in the top half of the Big Twelve standings every

(22:36):
single year. You know they'll finish around that area every
single year. At Colorado, I mean at Kentucky's I mean
Colley Kansas, I'm so sorry at ky U, Yes, that's Kansas.
Kansas was a head scratcher last year. Did they have talent, Sure,

(22:58):
they have a good coach.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
At that time, I thought Colorado was a little better team.
They had good wins though here at Texas Tech, good
win there. But their bowl game, man, they got they
got beat up a byt B y U, a Big
twelve four. But they still went seven and two in conference,
So you got to look at it like that. They

(23:21):
lost to both those the Kansas teams. For their regular season.
Seven and two in conference is pretty respectable. I know
a lot of people will probably go, well, that's big twelve.
It's kind of like going on sothern and two in
the ACC. You're absolutely right, you know, going seven and
two in the SEC or the big ten is jeah,

(23:43):
oh yeah, that's respectable as hell. That's that's college football
playoff team right there. Right, So a lot to prove
for Colorado. No Sutter Sanders, no Travis Hunter. Lost a
lot of players. I lost a couple of their receivers,
a lot to replace, right. You know that those players

(24:04):
that I named were the reasons why they won games.
You know, it wasn't just Deon Sanders. You know, is
he a good coach? I'd probably say yes, great coach. No,
I think he's more show than go. But I don't
know a lot of people out there going on Colorad
you hate Colorado. I don't hate Colorado. I dislike Colorado.

(24:26):
I think they're, like I said, they're more show than go,
all about They're the Dallas Cowboys of college football. All talk,
no walk, all about press conferences. They're about show me money,
They're about this, They're about that instead of the game,

(24:47):
instead of what's on their chest.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
They're about themselves.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
They're more about the names on the back of their
jerseys than they are than the names on the front.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Of their jerseys.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
This is my opinion about Colorado. Yet again, I lumped
this team with Miami because yes, they had a good
year nine and four. I'd take that every single year.
But I think they regress as well. So let's go
through their schedule. The best they can do is ten
and two. They already have losses on their schedule. I

(25:16):
had to give October eleventh, they host Iowa State. Already
did Iowa State, and I had to give them a
loss the Colorado Buffaloes. And then November twenty second they
host Arizona State, the Big twelve champs, reigning Big twelve champs,
so I had to give Colorado Buffaloes that loss as well.
So ten and two is the best they can do. Friday,

(25:37):
August twenty ninth is their start of their season. Welcome
in Georgia Tech. This is probably this has got neutral
site feel to it.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
I like Georgia Tech.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
In opening day games, man, I really truly do. I
like what they did last year against Florida State really
set the tone. I think Georgia Tech is a dark
horse and the ACC. You should really watch out for them.
I really want to do them. I don't know if
I'm I'll be able to, But I want to talk
about Georgia Tech. Great year. Should have beat Georgia. Not

(26:15):
gonna talk about Georgia Tech. We're talking about Colorado. But
Georgia Tech beats Colorado. Friday, August twenty ninth, Week one,
September sixth, Welcome in Delaware. Yeah, no, need to talk
about that home opener. Yeah, give me the Buffaloes all
day Friday, September twelfth. Here we go, start right here.

(26:37):
Conference season starts and it's at Houston. Now you're probably
saying CM that you know, Houston's at the bottom of
the Big twelve. Had an old full year last year.
They upset some people. They gave Texas a run for
their money. They had a really really good defense last year,

(27:00):
in the top twenty five to be exact in college football.
But he left and came to love it to be
the defensive coordinator here in love it for the Texas
Tech Red Raiders. So Houston's strength last year is not
gonna be their strength next year. So I got to

(27:21):
give the win to Colorado there. It's just too much offense,
I think for Colorado at Houston Friday September twelfth, September twentieth,
host Wyoming. There's a nice little non conference game mixed in.
There could be a trap game. I've seen Wyoming. I've
lost to Wyoming. But at home you hosts the Cowboys

(27:45):
of Wyoming, You're gonna beat them. September twentieth. September twenty seventh,
Welcome man BYU. It's got revenge factor to it. It's
got a little rivalry brewing kind of Colorado and you
kind of close to each other as well. I expect
more now of be YU this year.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
To be perfectly honest with you.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
If this was at BYU, I'd easily take the Cougars.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
But m.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
M m m yeah, you know what, I'll give them
a win, and I'll give them a win. They're playing
home October fourth at TCU. Question Mark here as well.
When Sunny Dyke is gonna get those boys back together?
I haven't yet again another good year, I don't know.

(28:37):
Tough road trip though, mm hmm, yeah, you know what,
Now there's two teams. I don't like to be perfectly honest.
If it's a game that I probably won't watch. I
hate to say it. I don't like TCU and I
don't like Colorado, so it's picked the lesser of two evils.

(29:03):
Give me TCU. Screw it, so forgetta l for Colorado.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
October eleventh.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Like I said earlier, I already did the Iowa State cyclone, so.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
I had to put my hold on silent because I
thought it was Yeah, they lose to Iowa State. I
think Iowa State's just the top of the barrel. And
Big Twelve, you know, you got to put Arizona State
up there. You got to put teams like Iowa State
by u K State. I can almost positively say those

(29:36):
teams will finish in the top four or five of
the Big twelve this year. So Allowa State's just different.
October eighteenth, that's their first buy. Kind of scary. It
didn't come till week eight. Was their first buy, and
they need it. They went for their four and three
at this junction of their season. October twenty fifth at

(29:57):
Utah Give me a win right there, just for the
simple fact is the bye week before it give them
two weeks to prepare for a utah UT's team that's
coming off of a really woeful year.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
But here's my rebuttal.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Kyle Whittingham don't have bad years hardly ever, So that
tells you is he gonna have another bad year consecutively?

Speaker 2 (30:21):
And I say no.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
I c BYU getting back to prominence next year, contending
in the Big twelve. But give me the Colorado Buffaloes
because they had two weeks to prepare for the youths
at Utah. November first, welcome in Arizona. Yeah, I can
safely say that this is a bottom half team. But

(30:44):
then again, what the hell do I know? I said
the same thing about Arizona State last year, and look
who held up that trophy in Dallas, Right, Yeah, I
don't know, but I'm gonna go with the team I know,
and that is definitely Colorado.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
So give me the win. November first, hosting Arizona.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
November eighth at West Virginia could be a tough game.
I got a trap next to it. Absolutely, that's a
nice cross country trip, Colorado to West Virginia. You're jumping
a few time zones. Definitely have a question mark about
West Virginia as well. I do believe that's Rich rod

(31:22):
I think Rich Rodriguez went back to West Virginia. I
think he's coached there before. If I'm not, I'm not
for sure, but I think he has. Don't know, Usually
first year coach don't do that great. So give me
Dion and the Colorado Buffalo is November eighth at West Virginia.

(31:45):
November fifteenth is their last bye. Yeah, not bad at
Utah Arizona and West at West Virginia sandwich between their
October eighteenth by not bad. Give him a chance to
get through the rest of the year. Remember twenty second
welcome in Arizona. State already did this game. Of course,
I had to give Colorado the L right there. November

(32:08):
twenty ninth at k State to wrap up their year,
and they go another L. That place is hard man Manhattan,
That place is hard to play. And by then K State,
I'm sure KSE State is gonna be a better team
than Colorado. So I gotta go with the k State Wildcats.

(32:31):
Man and playing at home. Yeah, give me the case
State Wildcats. Oh man, it looks like seven and five
ooh mm hmmm. Now I think that's four. So that's
my of course, this is my predictions. My predictions. None

(32:56):
of them are gonna be right, you know that, right?
If I get their win total, right, I won't get
the games that they.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Lost, right.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
I promise this is a tough schedule. Opening with Georgia Tech.
You're hosting BYU, going to Fort Worth, playing Iowa State,
going to Utah, West Virginia. I know I give them
a win. That's a hard place to play. Milan Pusker
Stadium a hard place to play. So watch out for

(33:24):
that game. Hosting the Big twelve champs and going to
K State. Ooh, that might actually six and six man.
To be completely honest, that's your floor ceilington and two.
I just there's too many tough games, too many tough

(33:47):
games to win double digits. Like I said, K State,
Arizona State, maybe West Virginia, maybe Utah. But Iowa State, BYU,
and Georgia Tech. I think they're better than you are
on paper. I don't know what that recruitment was. I
don't know what they did, but they're starting quarterback and
their Heisman winters not playing for him this year. I

(34:09):
see Colorado having a regression eight and four. I think
that's a great year, but I predict seven and five,
So you know, take it up with you Mama, that's
just my predictions. Have fun, guys. I hope you guys
are still having a great summer. You boy just had
a birthday a few days ago. I wanted to record

(34:30):
this yesterday I couldn't do it. Tuesday, I was busier
in Hell. I worked, and then I had a couple
get togethers and things to do. The Missus prepared meeting
dinner with her family and had a good old day,
a good old day man and gifts and stuff. And
then yesterday I was off and I had to catch up.

(34:51):
I didn't get a whole lot of stuff done on
the weekend, and I didn't get nothing done on Tuesday,
so I had a few.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Loads of laundry.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
I needed to mow because it's still been raining down here.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
And I had to mo because the rest of my
week is pretty busy as well, and I wanted to
hit the record button, but I just did not have
the time. So I had a little bit of time
today before work. So I'm doing this for you guys,
and I hope you enjoyed it, you know. I hope
you were, you know, enjoying your summer. I appreciate everybody
that reached out on my birthday. That was mister Ritter

(35:24):
and the grim Reacher texting me and wishing me a
happy birthday and met the world to me.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
It really does.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
When you get up in age like I am, it's
the small things that make you happy, and you don't
look at the the bad.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
You you just look at the good.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
And when it comes to getting older, you, you know,
really appreciate the small things and a text, you know,
off phone call, things like that on your birthday mean
the world. And I appreciate that for them doing that
for me, So I thank you guys as well. But
you know, it's never too late to to hollerge your boy.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
It's not a big deal.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Like I said, it's just another day, but you know
it is my day, don't get me wrong. But you know,
like I said, when you get up in age, it's
just yeah, I'm.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Another year older.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
I'm another year closer to death, right, But no, I
don't think of it like that. But yeah, birthdays are fun.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I got a.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Party going on this weekend, so I'm gonna be doing that.
So I'll let you boy right, I'm just kidding. No,
just take care of yourselves, be good people, have fun,
enjoy the rest of your summer. Make sure you're using
sunscreen and mosquito spray, you know, firing up that grill,
popping some tops, going to water parks, in the pool.

(36:40):
I've been swimming more times this summer than I have
swam in many summers. Yeah, to be perfectly honest with you,
I've swam so many times. I'm going to the splash
pad at some point in time with the kiddo. And yeah,
I'm having a great summer. I hope you are as well.
I know it's hot, I know at night the mosquitos
come out. I know it's it's humid. But man, summertime

(37:05):
is awesome. I love summer. And you blinking it's over.
You know, I seriously thought July fourth was just a
week ago. It feels like it was just a week ago.
And next thing you know, we are going into the
last week of July. Next week. It's pretty crazy, man.
And next you know it's August and we are going

(37:26):
in two week zero. So here we are, guys, yet again.
Another two teams done, the Hurricanes and the Colorado Buffaloes.
I got a special one for you guys. Next week
I'm doing the Alabama Crimson tide. Can they bounce back?
Can Kaitlyn Debor you know, turn that temperature gauge on
his seat down because they go out and have another

(37:48):
year like they did last year, they're looking for a
new head coach. You don't get two years of mediocrity
in Crimson Sideland and that fan base is going to
be content and sit on their hands. There's no fucking way.
They will kick him out out the door in a heartbeat.
And here comes Nick Saban. You know they actually saying

(38:08):
Nick Saban is trying to come back. Already. I had
a feeling he was gonna do that that year off.
He missed it, and he's he's gonna come back. I
guarantee it. He might have come back to his own
ma and mater right to be honest. So Alabama, I
am pairing them up a Boise State. Two teams I

(38:28):
think are gonna perform. So I got that for you
guys next week. Sorry about that. Yeah, I got a
phone call and I had to go to work early,
So now I'm back. I'm pretty sure I was talking
about next week's show in Alabama and Boise State, Like
I said, two teams that could end up back in

(38:52):
the college Football Playoff. You know, Alabama missed out last year,
Boise State got to best power for non power for
I should say sorry, and Boise State.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Gonna be a good one.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
I think, you know, Alabama bounce is back, and I
think Boise State's another one of those teams that consistently
are relevant. So if you're consistently relevant, and if you're
one of the blue bloods of the non power forwards,
of the smaller schools, I gotta respect you and I
have to talk about you. So that's Boise State and
Alabama next week. So that'll be the last show of July,

(39:29):
and I think I might have two or four more teams,
and then then I should be getting into Heisman and
college football playoff talk, you know, predict you know Heisman,
predict the twelve teams, maybe even predict a national championship.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
And then right.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Before you know it, it's gonna be weak zero preview show.
So you got to take care of one another. Like
I said, sorry, if I've already seemed like a broken record,
it's been a few hours, a lot of hours since
I've started recording this show, So take care. Like I said,
have a great rest of your summer. August is coming
right around the corner. I know the kids, are you

(40:08):
gonna get back ready to go to school? Seems like
they just got out of school in my honest opinion,
and then you got to turn around and get them
all back ready, you know, go school shopping and you know,
shirts and shoes and binders and pencils.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Right.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
But yeah, love one another, take care of one another,
continue having a good summer. Look out for one another.
