Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hello, Hello, Hello, How you going? How are you doing?
What you do? Baby? Baby? You know that baby be by?
Now you know what? As he entered the sound that
song the lean to the college football Function. You know
the voice at least I hope you do. And if
this is the first time listening to the college football function,

(00:45):
I am here to formally introduce myself. I go by
the name of CM AKA cousin Mike AKA, mister still
your grandma, call me professor CM because I just know
the most about NCAA, that college football action. CM funk.
I got Aka's for days, so just call me mister AKA.

(01:07):
Here was another banger of an episode back in the
off season mode. I hope you enjoyed that show I
dropped for you guys. Last week National Championship. Two teams,
you know, Ohio State and Notre Dame went through their schedules.
It's only fair to start the off season stuff exactly

(01:28):
how the last season ended, and this one is no different.
I hope you're still having a great summer. I don't
think it's officially summer, you know, as in ak you know,
quote unquote summer, but whenever school ends, I consider that
to be summer. Up until school starts. So, like I said,

(01:49):
I hope you're having fun. I hope you are letting
loose a little bit, finding some time to have a vacation.
I am as well already been sunburned. I've already been
attacked by mosquitoes. The storm season is not quite let
up here in Texas either. We've been getting a lot

(02:10):
of rain lately. Actually had a really big scare down
here in Lubwick not too long ago. Tornado sirens went off.
There was a tornado about ten fifteen miles west of me,
and everybody knows a tornado could travel really fast, and
I was this close to having to go to my

(02:30):
neighbor's house to get in their cellar. Let's just say
it was a little too close for comfort. But when
you live in Tornado Alley and you live, you know
between the months of you know, May and June, it's
tornado season, you know, and it happens. So sun's been
coming out though. I've already fired up the grill at
least once. I hope you have as well. I know,

(02:51):
my boy HP Howard Pool, mister Patrion of the Year, dude,
that dude fires up the grill probably you know, fifty
one weeks out of the year for sure. But all's
good down here. You know, I'm still safe. Everything's all good.
I hope you were enjoying yourself. But here we are
again with another great episode. We're gonna go to the

(03:13):
college football semifinals. We know Ohio State played Notre Dame
for the national championship. But who did they beat to
get to the national championship. We have the Texas Longhorns.
Of course, someone who's literally throwing their hat in the
SEC Conference Championship talks. First year in the SEC. Yeah,

(03:38):
didn't quite win the SEC, but I think they took
a lot of teams's notice. I think they a lot
of teams picked their ears up. Yes, you know, the
Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners joined the SEC last year,
and I you know, as big as the target on
their back already was it almost doubled, hell even quadrupled

(04:01):
the size going to the SEC and those old SEC
teams going, hey, you want to come in the big pond,
We're gonna come after you with everything we got. Texas
had a great year, only lost two regular season games
and are one regular season game sorry, and then lost
in the conference championships at Georgia, you know, but still

(04:22):
had a great year. I mean, Ole Miss didn't have
that good of a year. You know. You can say
that about Alabama as well. Alabama getting blown out by
Oklahoma and I think he lost to Vanderbilt if I'm
not mistaken. Texas still has a lot to prove. I
do believe going into this year, the Texas long Horns,
it's their conference to lose. I think they had the

(04:46):
most coming back, a lot of momentum. You know, a
lot of people will say what you in the season
on is what you build on going into the next Absolutely,
Georgia is still relevant. Alabama can't be held down for
very long. Will Oklahoma reclaim its glory? Teams like Old

(05:06):
Miss that kind of hang in the wings every once
in a while. You got to watch out for teams
like the Texas A and m Aggie's as well. You
got to throw in some of those teams, even a
Vanderbilt and Auburn SEC is very deep. Texas is going
to have a lot to prove, but they have one

(05:26):
of the best players in the country coming back. Now,
I'm a little hesitant to say that didn't really see
a whole lot of arch Manning. Last year he did
get some playing time, don't get me wrong, when quinn
Ewers went down. But it's a whole lot easier to
come off the bench and take over someone else's team
than to go into a full offseason mode knowing that

(05:49):
this is your team and all the pressures on your back. Yes,
he is a Manning, probably the highest recruited Manning that's
ever been in that family. He could do something definitely
only one of his uncles have done, and that's when
a national championship. So, if I'm not mistaken, I think
Peyton won that national championship for Tennessee. Was it ninety eight,

(06:11):
ninety nine? I can't really remember off the top of
my head. If I'm wrong, sorry that it was twenty five,
twenty six years ago. But anyway, Yeah, like I said,
Texas is gonna have I think a decent year. We're
gonna break through. We're gonna break down their upcoming twenty
twenty five to twenty twenty six season. And on the
other side, we got the Penn State and any Lions
who lost to the Notre Dame fighting Irish in that

(06:33):
semifinal twenty seven to twenty four, another team I thought
took great steps forward. A coach like James Franklin. Definitely,
a lot of Penn State fans would say, hey, when
are you gonna get over that? Hum? These ten win
seasons just ain't enough. When you're gonna win eleven? When

(06:53):
are we gonna compete for a Big Ten title? The
Big Ten got better with the additions of Oregon, you know,
USC Washington, the competition gets better. You know, they were
a middle tier team, maybe upper middle tier team in
the Big Ten. And Penn State had a great year,
you know, made it all the way to the semifinals,

(07:16):
you know, losing by three barely to the Notre Dame
fighting Irish. But I think they have a lot going
for them going forward. I think James Franklin can definitely
take a breath. You know, his seat isn't as hot,
it's not necessarily cold either, but he kind of got

(07:37):
some monkeys off his back last year. I love Drew
lar I'm a huge fan of Drewelar. Nick Singleton, I'm
a big fan of him. Those are two guys definitely
gonna be on my Heisman conversation when I have that,
probably right before the season starts. I'll break down some
of my favorite players, guys to look out for. Maybe,
if you're a betting guy, give me some arch Manning

(08:00):
will be the Heisman front runner at the start of
the year, and then you have I'll throw in some
dark horses, some long shots as well, like I do
every single year, and we'll go from there. But I
like Penn State's chances. Don't like that they're not playing
West Virginia this year. Though I missed that rivalry game.
I do believe that was called the backyard bro If

(08:21):
I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong. But let's go
through these schedules and see how good the Texas Longhorns
out of the SEC are going to be this year,
and see about Penn State out of the Big ten.
I start with Texas first, of course, like I said
las of Ohio State last year twenty eight to fourteen,

(08:42):
I don't think Texas should have beat Arizona State and
that quarterfinal. Will be perfectly honest with you, Arizona State
was the better team. I think Texas got away with
too much stuff. Those whistles were being blown for one side,
not both. Arizona State was just a better team and
Ohio State came out and showed them the next week

(09:03):
that Texas isn't quite there yet. Ohio State beats him
by fourteen. Of course in that semifinal. The two l's
to Georgia last year, and let's go into their schedule
Shanby and you know, without Matthew Golden as well, I
think that could definitely hurt them. But arch Manning leading
the shit, Let's see how many wins this team's gonna
have August thirtieth. Like I said, I've done Ohio State.

(09:26):
This is a College Football Playoffs semifinal rematch going to
the Buckeye State. Not an easy place to play at all,
it's gonna be it's one of the hardest places to play,
definitely top ten stadium wise, you know, sound wise, hard,
hard place to play. And it's Banner Day. The crowd's

(09:49):
gonna be a little extra juiced. Yeah, I know it's
an eleven am kick on Fox. It already came out,
but it's still going to be a juiced a juiced place.
And I've said it last week, Ohio State wins, so
this loss has to go to Texas. I gotta keep
track of every single thing. If I gave one team
a win, I gotta give the other team at L.

(10:10):
So Texas starts the year off with an L. I
wouldn't be surprised, though Texas goes up there and beats them.
I would not be surprised at all. It's gonna be
a close game, like I said, regardless, maybe Ohio State
is still kind of high on that on that national
championship last year and just kind of limps out there.

(10:32):
You never know. Sometimes that happens in those opening day games.
You know, two top five, top ten teams going up
against each other, and one team just had a better offseason,
one team more ready to play. It happens all the time.
Nine to six, September six is their next game. Get
to come home home opener San Jose State University. Of course,

(10:54):
that's a dub. You know that's gonna be I call
it a first half game. You pretty much it's gonna
be forty nine three, forty nine seven and a half.
You can let your second, second and third stringers go
in there. You gotta see what you have barring injuries,
of course, but you also want to see how your
depth chart works out, especially when it comes to that

(11:16):
tough SEC schedule that they're gonna have to go through
later in the year. September thirteenth, Stay at home yet again.
Welcome in UTEP, the University of Texas El Paso Minors.
Of course, on paper, of course, UTEP doesn't hang with
the Texas Longhorns. I think they struggle a little bit.

(11:40):
They do this every year. Texas will play a rice
Texas will play a Texas team at their house or
go somewhere, and those first couple of games, they're just
not quite there yet. And that's the best time to
hop on these teams, by the way, and that's the
best time if you are one of the top ten teams.

(12:01):
The best time to lose is early. And don't make
it often either. But one of these games, Texas is
gonna stumble. I'm not gonna say they're gonna lose, but
I'm saying they're not gonna look like they did more
than likely against Ohio State. And that's why these games
are a little iffy, especially after a hard fought game
than their first week August thirtieth, September twentieth, staying home

(12:24):
yet again. Sam Houston State that team can be tricky
as well. San Jose State was. I do believe there's
still a Division two. I can't remember or not, but
you know that was a team I quite fondly remember
a year or two ago, maybe three played for a

(12:45):
national championship against North Dakota State, or can't really remember
off the top of my head. Sometimes those teams, man,
they just have something to prove and they just go
somewhere and give a team like Texas around for their money. Now,
Texas will win, But if that spread is outrageous, if
that spreads like thirty five, I'm taking San Jose State

(13:09):
plus thirty five. Don't get me wrong, but I could
see it happening. You didn't have a no Septimber. Sorry
about that. Twenty seventh first by ideally not bad. It
kind of cuts your season into thirds or yeah, third,
so not a bad play for a buy. The twenty seventh,
October fourth is their next game. Conference season starts, and

(13:32):
this one's a doozy. I think this is definitely a
team I'm going to talk about. I thought they had
the hardest schedule on paper last year and still made
a bowl game, and that is the Florida Gators. Texas
has to travel to Florida to play the Gators. Yes,
it's not in September. Don't get me wrong. You don't

(13:53):
want to play in Texas in Florida, you know, down
in Louisiana in August, their September because it's just god awful.
The humidity is horrible. But Texas can kind of relate,
you know, down in Austin. It's kind of humid down
there as well. But I see Florida given Texas, they
run for their money. And I think last year, if

(14:16):
I'm not mistaken, Florida went to Texas and Texas just
beat the breaks off of them. So I'm gonna call
it right here. I'm gonna say that's a hell. I'm
saying they go down to Gainesville, to the swamp and
lose to the Gators. October eleventh, Here we go red

(14:39):
River rivalry, rivalry game, trap game, the Oklahoma Sooners. Definitely Mike,
close your ears if Texas loses that game, like I said,
at Florida, oh you will get stopped. They've already lost
two games. You can't really ask Alabama how many losses

(15:00):
get you out of the College Football Playoff, and the
magic number is three. They'd have to win out just
to get a shot at getting in the College Football Playoff,
and the two conference losses in and your two first
conference games with spell disaster for Texas. So I'm sorry, Mike,
you got to get that l right there. The Texas

(15:22):
Longhorns beat OU in the Red River Rivalry October eleventh.
October eighteenth, head to Lexington to play the Kentucky Wildcats.
Got this right here, I got it is a trap game.
Kentucky's another one of those teams. Man, they're just kind
of in the middle of the pack. Have good years,

(15:43):
but they'll also have one of those sneaky wins that
they're not supposed to have every single year. Every once
in a while, it's those middle of the pack teams
do something they're not supposed to. I mean, ask the
NIU Huskies about the Notre Dame fighting Irish. They beat
Notre Dame, you know, in Week three, week four, whatever

(16:03):
week it was, and sent shock waves to the college
football landscape last year, and it happens every single year.
You just can't really predict when and where it's going
to happen. Yeah, I think they finally got their footing back,
you know, with that win, that rivalry win against their

(16:24):
hated rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners. They kind of need to
get roll into as well. So that is a win
at Kentucky. I'm gonna say less than fourteen though. The
twenty fifth of October head to Mississippi State. Not sure
about them, to be perfectly honest with you, Dak Prescott

(16:44):
don't play there no more. I'm not really sure about him.
I'm not even sure I know who their head coach is.
So let's give Texas that win there. I'll say they
win by twenty one, twenty four, ten to one. Oh sorry,
week ten eleven one, so that would be November one.
Welcome in the Vanderbilt commodorees. Put a tea next to

(17:07):
this one. Now, if it was at Vanderbilt, I picked
the upset right here. I think Vanderbilt has a little
something work, and I think do think Diego Pavea is
coming back. They're not gonna sneak up on anybody this
year like they did last year. You know, ask Alabama,
but that could have been a little start of something.

(17:29):
Now Vanderbilt going to Texas, I think it's a little
too much for Vanderbilt. I gotta give him a loss
right there. Texas beats the Vanderbilt Comodores November first, but
that could be very close. Don't be surprised if Vanderbilt
keeps it close, because I think they kept it close
last year against Texas as well. If and I'm mistaken,

(17:52):
November eighth is their last bye. Good time for a buye.
You know your Red River Riberry at Kentucky, Mississippi State,
and teams that you don't necessarily know anything about, they
could be very good at that time. And then a
team like Vanderbilt it can shock you. So that is
another good time for it. By the eighth of November.

(18:15):
November fifteenth, here we go. Got to start next to
this one at Georgia, the reigning defending conference champions. I mean,
everybody knows the SEC runs through Georgia until somebody takes
it away. They're the big dogs. I mean they are

(18:35):
the Bulldogs, are the big dogs in the SEC. And
here we go. They get that monkey off their back.
They're not going zero and three against Georgia. Texas goes
to Georgia and beats the Bulldogs. November twenty second. Welcome
in Arkansas, the Razorbacks. I got a t next to

(18:58):
this game and have an r next to this game
as well. TA for trap or for rivalry. Arkansas and
Texas do not like each other. Granted, there's not a
lot of teams that like the Texas Longhorns. Don't get
you wrong. OU is definitely one of their most hated rivals,
up there with the Aggies. They don't consider the Texas

(19:21):
tech Red Raiders. Are you rival I don't either. They
kind of own us three to one something along those lines. Yes,
we'd love to play them, but they're on our minds
more than we're on their minds, just to say the least.
But Arkansas definitely has something to say. That's the old

(19:41):
Southwest Conference rivals. Now they're new SEC rivals. Arkansas would
love to beat these Texas Longhorns. They can't stand Longhorns.
They were one of the teams that was voting no
for the Longhorns to join the SEC. So don't be
surprised if this is a close, bitter game. You know,
lots of penalties, all kinds of good stuff. But yeah,

(20:07):
I kind of give them that. Arkansas is definitely one
of those teams that not too familiar with Yeah, I
could win some games, but by this time in the
end of the year. Sometimes you checked out. Sometimes you're
five and five and you know, yeah, you're hunting for
a bowl game, but you've kind of checked out. It

(20:27):
is what it is, last game of the season. This
is a Friday night game. I'm so glad they moved this.
I wish they would go back to them playing on
Thanksgiving Night. I get it NFL runs that, but back
in the day, man, you would watch your two games,
you know, your Cowboys and your Lions, and then at

(20:49):
night you would watch the Texas A and m Aggie's
and the Texas Longhorns. Used to love it. Moved it
to Black Friday definitely loses its luster a little bit,
just because I remember so many Thanksgiving nine games between
these two hated rivals. Of course, like I said, Texas
A and M the twenty eight, the day after Thanksgiving

(21:14):
rivalry game A and M going to Austin. Of course,
Texas beating A and M last year in Kyle Field
in College station. So Am would love it, you know,
I mean, Texas is hated. They want to get beat
every single week. The pressure will mount. They got to

(21:34):
lose again at some point in time, I would say,
But I just don't know about the nmagist. I really
don't they recruit well, yes, but they just one of
those teams that just can't get over that damn hump.
Can't get over that hump, and been in the SEC
for so long and yet never done anything in that conference.

(21:56):
So wanted to leave, you know, wanted to get away
from the oeu US and the Texas Is for a
long time. Hell, they wanted to get away from the
Texas Tech Graderators for a while too. There was long
stretches where they couldn't beat Texas Tech. So uh man
I sinse I loss there, But I think the sex

(22:17):
teams a little bit better than that, So closer than
the experts think. Though. Right here, that's a dub. So
it looks like ten and two. Write that down with
losses to Ohio State and the Florida Gators. Now, if
it's not the Florida Gators, hell, it could be OHU,

(22:40):
it could be Vandy, it could be Georgia. I mean,
if Texas goes eleven and one with this schedule, I mean, hell,
twelve and oh give them a national championship. It's a
tough schedule. Arkansas A and M at Georgia, you got
an upbeat, you know, Vanderbilt team with a quarterback coming
back at going to Kentucky. Of course, you have your

(23:02):
Red River rivalry, going to the Swamp and going, not
to mention the opening day game, going to Ohio State.
I mean, twelve to zero on the definitely on the table,
right they could they can stack up with any one
of these teams, even Ohio State. But the floor, the

(23:22):
floor could be bad. I see three, maybe even four
losses right here. I could see them crumbling in that
little middle part between Mississippi State and Georgia and then
going into their two rivalry games at the end of
the year, maybe losing one or two of those. I
see it. It's definitely possible. Not gonna lie, so I'm

(23:43):
gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. Though I'm
not a I am a hater, don't get me wrong,
hate the Texas long Worns. But they're better than eight
and four, they're better than nine and three. So I
just gotta go one more above ten and two. That
is a pretty good year that still gives contention in
the SEC with only one conference loss, and yet again,

(24:06):
probably another college football playoff spot. Now let's go to
Penn State. Shall we Let's go to big ten country,
Rich Franklin. You know, like I said before, you know
a little bit earlier, I got a monkey up his back,
you know, cooled off that seat a little bit. But

(24:26):
don't be content. You know, let's go out and you
know you've laid the foundation and you've taken steps forward.
Let's keep taking steps forward and upward. You know, we
never want to stay in a stationary walk. We want
to go upwards. And you got to do it eventually.
You know, yeah, you had a great year last year,

(24:46):
but do it again, and I want a better year.
That's just Penn State football. That's Texas football, that's Georgia football,
that's USC football, it's you know, ten wins is the four.
I mean, I'm sorry, but that is the god awful
truth with some of these big blue blood programs. If
you're not competing for conference championships and going to the

(25:08):
College Football Playoff, your butt's on the line. So here
we go. Like I said, lost in Notre Dame in
the semifinals twenty seven to twenty four, a very very
good game. And this is another team they the best
they can do is eleven and one. Because I did
Ohio State, and you know, Penn State goes to the

(25:28):
Horseshoe in November November first and gets that win against
these Penn State and Indie lions. I know it hurts
to hear Howard Poole, but we gotta be real. One
team owns the other. I mean, it is what it is.
I know Penn State should have beat Ohiose State last year,
but things happen. You know, things happen. I know the

(25:53):
Abdul Carter not being there this year, but I like
their offense and very disappointed that y'all aren't playing West
Virginia this year. So let's go through their schedule, shall we.
August thirtieth is their opening day game. They welcome in
the Nevada wolf Pack. Yet again, Cupcake, there, this is
in a Pennon State versus I'm trying to think of

(26:19):
somebody USC or you know, something along those lines. Not
everybody can play those big ass games to start the year.
There's only so many, you know, miles to feed. So
Nevada the wolf Pack get to go into Beaver Stadium
and get a l. Penn State wins August thirtieth against Nevada.

(26:40):
September sixth, Welcome in Florida International University FIU. It could
be interesting if I'm not mistaken. I think texts texts
old offensive coordinator or do he go to FAU. I
can't remember either way. I mean Penn blows them out

(27:00):
yet again. Like I called that Texas schedule a while
ago with San Jose State UTEP. These are halftime games.
You go out and you try to just obliterate that
team as quickly and as easily as possible, and get
some second and third stringers in there. Let's see what
we got, Let's see what we can hang with, Let's

(27:22):
see how good we possibly can be. So that's another
dub September sixth against f I you September thirteenth, Welcome
in Villanova yet again. Another team. I do believe they
were Division two not too long ago. Took the step
up and you know in weight class to get Division one. Yes,

(27:45):
of course, when you think of Villanova you think of
college basketball. Yeah, you know, you think of certain players
and guys like Jalen Brunson and so many other de Vincenzo.
I mean, I can go on for days. Jay Wright,
national championship winning coach that those are great teams this
is football. This isn't the hardwood. So Villanova goes into

(28:07):
Beaver Stadium and loses September thirteenth to these Penn State.
In allions, the twentieth of September is their first bye.
Interesting buye. Yeah, you don't want your bye too early,
too late. Yes, you get two byes fourteen weeks, twelve
weeks season. But I say it's a goodbye just because

(28:28):
of what's going to happen. Week five, September twenty seventh,
Welcome in the University of Oregon. The Ducks come a
calling yet again. Another team right there. You know, beat
Ohio State last year, you know in the audstin Zoo.

(28:48):
Definitely was up there in contention in the Big Ten.
Good team, very good team. I mean, this is a
coin flip. If I had to think about it, I
go head coaches. Nobody really has an advantage special team.
I mean I could go all through the line and
this is a pretty close shot. Man, it really is.

(29:11):
University of Oregon is going to have a good year
as well. It's definitely this game definitely should be the
wide out game of the year. If I had my way,
if I was up there in Penn State, I'd make
this one my wide out, and if it is a
wide out, here we go dub against the University of Oregon.
I don't see why not. I know they don't like

(29:32):
to do it too too early against certain teams. But
your home schedule is a little week this year, Penn State.
I'm sorry. Yeah, you got your Nevadas, FIU, Villanova. Those
are home games and then Oregon, and that's your best
home game. So I would go ahead and do the

(29:53):
wide out September twenty seventh and get that dub against
the University of Oregon Ducks. I'm going to give it
to him October fourth, take a long, long trip to
UCLA to play the Bruins. Definitely evens the playing field. Yes,
Penn State's better on paper, but I've said this before,

(30:17):
those cross country trips can sometimes spell disaster to the visitor.
You're changing so many things you're having to adjust and
jet lag and crossing multiple time zones. It does have
an effect. A lot of people say, oh, I don't
mean nothing. I don't mean nothing. It affects the NFL.

(30:39):
I mean, if it affects grown ass men playing the
best possible football, only the best players in the world,
make the NFL if it affects them, guess what it
affects college and you still got work. I mean, you
still have to be going to school. You still have
to be taking your tests and studying and all that
other shit. So I got a trap game next to this.
I could see this happening. Penn State High and Mighty

(31:03):
knocking off the Oregon Ducks taking a cross country trip
and blowing it and losing to a u UCLA Bruins
team that honestly don't know much about. But I'm going
to give them the benefit of doubt that it's a
w closer than the experts think. October eleventh, Welcome in Northwestern.

(31:25):
Yet again, they're in that same boat with the UCLA Bruins,
the Rutgers, the Nebraska's YadA, YadA, YadA, all just kind
of there. Would love for them to, you know, get
back to prosperity, you know, I mean, in honesty, but
it's just not gonna happen. Baver Stadium is gonna be

(31:46):
rocking for that one. That's a win I see. September eighteenth,
here we go. This's a tough one at Iowa. Yet again,
their team in the same boat kind of light. Penn
State have a lot of good years, great tradition. Iowa

(32:11):
plays great defense, puts tight ends into you know, the
NFL makes really good football players, play sound defense. They
don't mess themselves up. You know. They're the Kansas States
of the Big Ten. Tough team, and it's a tough
team to go to. So man, I damn it. I'm sorry,

(32:34):
Howard Poole. You either lose to Oregon or lose to Iowa.
I don't see beating them both. And at Iowa, woof.
But don't be surprised that UCLA Glass Country trip. Don't
make your butt hoo hooker. That's all I gotta say.
Here we go twenty fifth of October is thereby great bye.

(32:56):
They have the same bi schedule as Ohio State was
doing the schedules, and I say, oh, that's cool. That
could actually benefit Penn State. And it doesn't. But because
the week after, like I said, November first, they go
to the Buckeye State and play the Buckeyes and louse.
So that's an l Here we go November eighth, Welcome
in the Indiana Hoosiers. Got a tea next to this,

(33:18):
and I got to start next to it because I
think this could be a very interesting game, Indiana being
one of the darlings of college football last year. Kurt
Signetti Rourke, I mean, there's just a team that just Cinderella.
You know, everybody loves to see it. You don't want
to see nothing but blue bloods in the college football playoffs.

(33:39):
You don't want to see nothing but blue buds in
your conference championships. You like to see in Indiana every
once in a while. You want to see Arizona State
every once in a while. You're just tired of seeing
the same old people. But here we go, Indiana comes
to town. Can they have sustained success? Were they flash

(34:03):
in the pan? Indiana kind of reminded me of that
TCU team of a few years ago had one great year.
Granted TCU played for a national championship. Indiana didn't, But
a lot of people can have one good year and
then just kind of fade to black. It's hard to
have continued success in college football, it really is. Indiana

(34:28):
is not going to creep up on anybody this year.
I talked about that the Vanderbilt Commodorees. They're not creeping
up on anybody this year. It's a gut check man.
It's going to be a great game, great game regardless,
but I'm going to get Penn State to win right
there against Indiana. Like I said, I trust Penn State

(34:50):
more than I trust Indiana. Granted, my Kurt Signetti don't
like what he's doing in Indiana. But was it all just
for one year? That's all I'm saying. I'm sorry. Prove
me wrong, Please prove me wrong. November fifteenth, Take a
trip up to Spartan Stadium to play in the Michigan
State Spartans. Yet again, another team has kind of fell

(35:14):
by the wayside. You can double j will definitely tell
you more about Michigan State than I could. But just
kind of there yet again, another team like the Nebraska
corner Huskers, a Northwestern and just there just taking up space,
you know, sitting at the table. You know, yeah, they're

(35:34):
in the crappy end or the crappier end of the table,
not in the high part. But you know they're getting kids,
mills and stuff, but still sitting at the table. They
still got their cut. But yeah, Penn State goes up
to Michigan State. It beats the Spartans. November fifteenth, November
twenty second. Welcome in the Nebraska corn Huskers, who another

(35:57):
team kind of question marks. Yeah, Matt Rule, great coach.
Nebraska did some great things. This great things the past
couple of years. This is usually when Rule hits. He
either hits in his third or fourth year or he
kind of goes somewhere else. It's the truth. Look up
his you know his history. Good quarterback. I mean, I

(36:22):
know he gets a lot of hate because he wants
to look like Patrick Mahomes, I act like Patrick Mahomes.
I get it. But kids got game though. If it
was at Nebraska, I give the trap special there and
I'd give it the upset special. But now Nebraska can't
hang with Beaver Stadium. That's a win. Last game of

(36:44):
the season twenty ninth and November. Take a road trip
to play Rutgers the nights. Yeah, I mean that was
pretty easy. Don't get me wrong. Sure it wouldn't surprise me.
A crappy team like Rutgers, a crappy team like Michigan State,

(37:04):
a crappy team like UCLA. Welcoming in at Penn State.
That's your game of the year. I mean, that's why
you buy season tickets. Is for one game, and I've
done it before myself. I'll buy season tickets just for
one game because I know that's the one game for

(37:25):
sure I want to go to, or I'm gonna go to.
I'll sell the other four tickets, but I'm going to
this game. And that's Rutgers, that's Michigan State, that's Iowa,
that's UCLA. If everybody wants to see the Penn State
in the Allie, so everybody wants to see the Georgia Bulldogs,
Ohio State Buckets, Texas long Worts, and they show up
and they show out, so don't be surprised at Penn State,

(37:48):
you know, loses one of these these away games. But
I'm just gonna this is for fun, This is for
shits and giggles. Got to give them that win right there,
the twenty ninth last game of the season, and that
looks like another ten and two, just like the Texas Longhorns.
But the reason why I do these to these teams
is because there are a lot of like a lot

(38:08):
of like both lost in the in the semifinal of course,
to the eventual you know, national champion and runners up,
a lot coming back, very accredited coaches, uh returning quarterbacks
for both of these teams. Yes, the loss of Matthew
Golden and the offensive tackle I can't remember his name

(38:31):
up the top of my head from Texas that draft
got drafted the first round and Abdo Carter for Penn State. Yes,
you're gonna have holes. It's gonna happen. But these are
these big schools. You know, they don't rebuild, they reload
and uh, Drew Lard coming back, Nick Singleton, Uh, that
rushing attack. I think that that that big ten blue blood.

(38:52):
Let's let's keep the ball, you know, away from the
air as much as possible. Uh. Two interesting teams, but
looking at their schedule, yeah, definitely Texas is a little tougher.
But I just think Penn State has more trap games.
You know, the at UCLA, at Iowa of course, at

(39:12):
Ohio State, we know what that one is. The Indiana
games a question mark, and you know, heck, you never
know about the last three games of the season at
Michigan State at home to Nebraska and then at Rutgers.
They could drop the ball, they could do what the
Penn State Nittany Lions do and just kind of fall
flat on their face. And Howard poole tell you they

(39:33):
do that a lot, get a lot of expectation, act
like your shit, don't stink, and then bam, you fall
from grace and fall right on flat on your face.
And it happens all the freaking time. So that does
it for me. Guys. Coming in a little bit under
forty minutes. I hope you guys enjoyed that. This is
just the tip of the iceberg. Definitely going to be

(39:57):
doing a whole lot more teams. Definitely gotta do the
Georgia Bulldogs. I gotta do the Alabama Crimson Tide. I
gotta do the Michigan Wolverines for my boy. Double Jay
sent me a text not too long ago, and you know,
welcome to be back. You know if that meant the
world to me, to be perfectly honest with you, it

(40:18):
just shows I'm appreciated and people actually listen to me
and actually fucking like me, so big up stuff of course,
Double j. So you know, I gotta do the Michigan Wolverines.
Definitely got to do, you know, the University of Oregon.
I gotta do the Ducks. Definitely got to do. Oh
you you know, for my boy Mike Ritter, definitely a

(40:38):
team that you know, do you just sitting there stretching
your head? You know when are they going to get back?
You know when is Venable's gonna either take a step
forward shit or get off the pot. Is pretty much
what I'm gonna quote unquote call of the Oklahoma Sooners
this year. They got to do something. I mean, have

(41:00):
to win or they're gonna have to look for a
of your coach because Venables just ain't it. Gotta do
the Sooners. Illinois this is like a team I watched
a lot last year, especially at the end of the year.
They beat South Carolina in the awesome, awesome Bowl game.
That's a sneaky team that could be the Indiana of

(41:23):
the Big Ten this year. A team that just kind
of comes out of nowhere and beat You gotta love
the coaching staff. I love Brett bet Lama. Watch out
for the Illinois fighting Ali and I definitely got to
go to the se ACC. Sorry about that talk about
the reigning champ, the Clemson Tigers, a team that's just

(41:43):
kinda they win, but they don't get talked about as
much anymore. The a SEC is definitely weak. You know,
Florida State following flat on their face last year. Yes,
the upcoming of Miami last year was great and all,
but those are big fish and small ponds. The rest
of the ACC is kind of eh. You know, North

(42:06):
Carolina could be very interesting. I'm thinking about possibly doing that,
but that's if I have time. It's just the ACC
that's the sexy. To be perfectly honest with you, But
I gotta do Clemson because I think Kate club Nick
is probably I love the kid. I love the kid.
A few years ago I see him doing great things

(42:27):
in the NFL. So let's just say that I like Clemson.
I definitely gotta go to my neck of the woods
talk a little big twelve. I gotta throw in teams
like k State, TCU and of course my Texas Tech
Red Raiders, and I gotta do another team. I think
a team that can kind of say, hey, in the ACC,

(42:50):
we had a good year last year. Maybe we were
the Indiana of the Big ten last year. That's the
s and Mustangs. Gotta put a little bit of respect
on their name. Definitely, teams had some really bad luck,
you know, decades ago with the black listing and black
flag and all that stuff that they had it took

(43:10):
a long time to get back. Was it a flash
in the pan where, like I said, we don't know
the games have yet to be played, we're still months away.
SMU definitely got to do them. But next week I'm
doing the Two Darlings. I truly thought that overperformed Arizona

(43:31):
State out of the Big Twelve. I'm doing them. A
team that won the Big Twelve, you know in their
first year. You know, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah all coming
to the Big Twelve. Big Twelve doesn't get talked about enough.
Definitely had one of the best players in the country.
If it wasn't for guys like Ash and Janet Cam'skataboo Dillingham,

(43:56):
the head coach, Kenny is it Kenny Dillingham? I think
so overperformed. Now you have to show back up nobody.
You're not sneaking up on nobody. Can you repeat as
Big twelve champs and start that long, long road of
becoming a Big twelve blue blood. I know the Big

(44:16):
Twelve kind of gets frowned upon, but there's a lot
of good teams in the Big Twelve, not a lot
of great teams. But Arizona State definitely has the one
foot in the door. You know, you go out and
win the big twelve two years in a row, you
could say you're pretty dominant. So and I thought they
should have be Texas in that quarterfinal, perfectly honest with you.

(44:38):
They were the better team. They played better, that is
my opinion. Now the other darling, of course, of last year,
the Indiana Hoosiers. I'll break down their schedule. You know,
went through the transfer portal, kurtz Ignandy doing his thing
in Indiana. I do believe they even had a game
Day this past year. It's always you know, game Day

(45:02):
goes to fourteen places during the year, and it's very
prestigious for guys likely Corso and Kirk and you know
all those other guys to show up to your town
and put on a three hour show in front of
you and pretty much saying, hey, this is the biggest,
baddest game in town. Here is college game Day and
Indiana got one last year. So definitely got to talk

(45:24):
about the Indiana Hoosiers. See if they can't do it again.
So two teams very much alike as well. And the
next one I'm gonna do and that's Arizona State and
Indiana also got to do South Carolina. Man, another team
that kind of came creeping up in the SEC last
year once and won a lot of games. And if
it wasn't for that bowl game against Illinois, they'd be

(45:48):
up there too. Man. There's so many good teams. Man.
I love the scriptancy in college football now. How the
blue bloods just aren't taking off anymore more, teams like SMU,
Indandianas and the Arizona States. You gotta throw in some
of these smaller schools that can say, hey, we can hang.

(46:11):
We got some alumni, you know, we got some nil money,
we're raising money. We want to contend and and I'm
just gonna, you know, say this now, My tax to
tick Red Raiders are are coming this year too. I'm
trying not to not drink the kool aid. I'm really not,
But when the kool aid is that sweet and it's

(46:33):
that cold, and it's my favorite flavor and it's fucking
hot and I'm thirsty, I want to drink it so bad.
I just know my Raiders can't ever get it done.
I don't want to have my expectations so high and
we fall flat on our face. Because I was pretty
high on them last year, but we're better. I mean

(46:54):
we had the number one transfer portal class, good recruiting.
We're into doing what Indiana did last year. Is what
a lot of people are talking shit about what Texas
Tech is doing and has done in this offseason and
this year, that we're buying our team pretty much. Indiana
did the same thing last year, and they got a

(47:16):
college game day, they got to the college football playoffs.
They weren't contention for their conference. And that's, honestly, that's
all I want. Yes, I'd love a national championship. I
would just even play for one. But to be relevant,
you know, that's all I want, man. I just want
to be fucking relevant, you know, and to take us seriously.

(47:37):
You see the double T on your schedule, go shit,
we're in for it. Like if we don't play our
a game, they're going to beat us. And that's all
I ever want for my Red Raiders. So definitely got
to do my Red Raiders and so many other teams, man,
I got you know, we got three months or so
until college football starts, so I'm gonna do as many

(47:58):
teams as I possibly can. And then, you know, probably
the week before the season starts, do my Heisman special
and predict the national champion. Hey, I'm one for two
these past two years. I predicted a high state win
the national championship last year, didn't see Notre Dame getting there.
But definitely gonna be fun. I'm gonna take all these

(48:20):
into consideration when I do all these scheduled breakdowns, and
take that into consideration and then throw all that into
a pot, you know, turn up the heat and see
which twelve teams are are rising to the top. And
who I gotta throw in a Boise State, you know,
I gotta throw in an SMU. I mean, it seems
like every year there's always a team that just kind
of comes from nowhere and just raises your eyebrows and

(48:43):
beats someone you're not supposed to, you know, I ask
the NIU Huskies, right, So that doesn't for me, guys.
I will be back and you know, just about a
short five six seven days whenever, you know, with the
next show, the Arizona State sun Devils out of the
Big twelve and the Indiana Hoosiers out of that Big
ten breakdown their schedules. So thank you so much for listening.

(49:05):
If this was the first time listening. I hope you
come back. I hope you tell a friend, because that's
all I ever really want. I've been doing the show
for a long long time. Am I perfect? Absolutely not.
I've never claimed to be, and I don't want to
be perfect. To be perfectly honest with you, I think
that's what makes us beautiful is we have our flaws,

(49:25):
and shit, I got a lot of them. So I
just hope you enjoy yourself. Believe I'll make you laugh
at least one time a show. I mean, that's all
I entertain you for the forty five hour long However
many minutes these shows go on because it seems like
I do ramble a lot. I go off tangent. I

(49:46):
kind of like the dog off up. I just squirrel,
you know, I think about something and I have to
talk about it. But Ethanina here and out there, thank
you so much. I hope you tell a friend to
get the Patreon app coming up on fifty minutes, you know,
paying that dollar and get these shows no ads. I mean,

not going to break down the new Mexico Lobo schedule.
I wasn't planning on breaking down the Washington Husky schedule.
I mean, I only have so many there's so many teams,
so many conferences. I mean, I don't have all the
time in the world to do all these teams. So

(51:38):
reach out. I mean, that's how that's why I do Michigan.
That's why I do Michigan every single year for one
person and then goes by the name of double J
and he reached out and said, hey, would you please
break down the Michigan Wolverine schedule. I live in Michigan.
I'm a big Michigan Wolverines fan. I would love to
hear your take. And that's what I've been doing, and
that's why I do it. That's why I do Penn State.

(51:59):
I do that for Howard Poole. I do Texas for
a lot of my family members that I freaking hate
because they're fucking Longhorns fans. You know, I'm gonna do
TCU for some more family. Do an ou for mister Ritter.
