Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ldies and gentlemen, Welcome back to another episode of For
the Fan, episode number one fifty one. I am Will,
We got coland Jacob Dom, the gangs all here. We're
all back. Christmas, New Year's Kwanzahnka, all these holidays they're
all gone. Uh yeah, we're back. Gentlemen, Hello, yop, what's up?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Good afternoon.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
You can follow us on all the social media pages
down below, YouTube for the Fan Network, TikTok for the
Fan Network, X for the Fan Underscore on Instagram for
the Fan Football. Uh yeah, two hundred and seventy two
games have came and went and well, just like that,
it felt like yesterday we witnessed Isaiah La Likelee's toe
on the end of the goal line there, well, edge
of the end zone, missed out on a touchdown potentially,
(00:45):
you know, over time in Kansas City and woof from
thirty two, we're down the fourteen and I don't know
about you guys, it's a very sad time because well, yeah,
less teams to talk about, but we're always gonna be
talking about all thirty two teams at least through the
rest of the regulars. Well, the rest of the season
shouldn't say regular season anymore? Gentlemen, are you guys ready?
We got a lot of stuff to talk about today,
(01:07):
head coaches ready to rumble. That's a great movie. Yep,
Damon Arnette was in it. So yeah. Favorite memories from
the wildcard round. We got a little bit of debate
questions game of the weeks by selling holds wildcard picks.
Everything is here, and gentlemen, and to the fans watching us,
(01:29):
thank you all for tuning in and you're listening to
for the fan. You are listening to for the fan.
(01:56):
And here we go. Let's go looking over the head
coaching opening. So by the time the regular season ended,
there was three openings. We had the Jets, the Bears,
and the Saints all fire mid season guys, And we
just got three more. We got Draw Mayo, who was
fired literally an hour after the Patriots win messing them
up out of the first overall pick, get fired. Doug
(02:17):
Peterson early Monday morning after the Jags were delayed in
Indianapolis to the ice storm and the snowstorm going through Indianapolis.
He got canned. And then yesterday we saw Antonio Pierce
get fired from the Raider And I mean, I can
ask about all these reactions and all that stuff, but
who really gives a rats ask about it? But out
of the six, which opening would you consider to be
(02:39):
one of the best openings in the league.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I've actually thought about this because everyone loves the idea
of the Bears Jets of what they have, But mine's
the Patriots. It's a stable franchise. They usually last with,
you know, people they hire and bring in, and I
really think Gerd.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Mayle will still be there if coming back.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
But you have Drake may who really looks like the
best of that crop, and along with the stability of
management and making the decisions, unlike the Bears, to me,
that sounds like the best idea of them all.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Yeah, I'm piggybacking with Jake. I'm also taking the Patriots raiders.
This quarterback class blows and you blew that opportunity anyway,
so your rosters are going to continue to stay terrible.
I think it's easily the Patriots job. The Bears dysfunctional franchise.
I don't know what Cale Williams is definitely look to
(03:42):
struggle after being the kind of can't miss kid. Yeah,
I think it's the Patriots job. You're in a very
good spot. Financially, you got your quarterback, there's opportunities for
you to go out and splash the dough and free agency,
and they have a tradition. So I'm going with the
Patriots as well.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I mean I kind of agree.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
I also think because they fill it with Rabel, I
think essentially is kind of the course of action.
Speaker 7 (04:11):
So I would have said, and I just looked it
up just because I wanted if maybe there's a possibility,
but it just seems like there won't be.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
If Zach Taylor got fired, I would have said, that
would have probably been the spot that would have been
bad for anyone looking to make a team.
Speaker 7 (04:34):
But immediately, I mean, you can do a lot with
that team.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
It's pretty built as far as offense goes. Obviously we
know that. But I don't think that anything's gonna happen there,
which is crazy because he has a career losing record
on the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Or currently still.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Marvin Lewis also had a losing record with the Bengals
as well, and he stayed around for like what he
was a ten year for like fifteen years.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Cousin Taylor had.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, he's that he's.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Been there since twenty nineteen, so entire time.
Speaker 7 (05:07):
Yeah, see, like it blows my mind.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
I blows my mind that they're holding onto Zach Taylor still.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Honestly, well, they finally they made the move of firing
lou Ana Rimo, who will get a shot again as
defensive coordinator because he is a great defensive minded guy.
Speaker 7 (05:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
So you make those moves and it's like, okay, hey,
you know, the seat's warming up a little bit. We
got to get back into the playoffs. I mean, this
team is an AFC title contender every single year. As
long as Joe Burrow is healthy and mister seven to
eleven himself, Jamar Chase is healthy, they should be competing
every single year for the AFC title.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
Yeah, you know, I did not know.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
I didn't know. I just seeing this over there. I
did not know Taylor as his brother, Press Taylor is
just as trash as he is, Like you must run
in the family, Press Press Taylor's if you look at
like the jobs he's had, he's pretty bad.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
I didn't know.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
That's kind of funy do his job.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Yeah, But nonetheless, I think Patriots is the shiniest one
as far as like like just there's still built there where,
it's like you know, some of the other places.
Speaker 7 (06:19):
That's rough, man.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
I think you could do something with the Saints maybe.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I mean the Saint salary cap right now is fifty millions,
so I think you're better off doing nothing with that.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
Yeah, No, I mean it's rough, rough rounds.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I would say maybe the Raiders. I mean, the Raiders
are right behind the Patriots and cap space next year.
They have one hundred and seven million dollars and they
do have, you know, a top five pick, So I
think that could be another good move. And with Tom
Brady being in the hell, maybe he could swing the
franchise because you know, minority own, you want to make
as much money as he humanly can, so trying to
under there right be involved.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
No, isn't that part of the situations with uh.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
He can't be involved in Fox production meeting, so he
can't be in there talking to like the other teams
and all that stuff, trying to get like the game plan,
gauging everything, So he can't be a part of that.
But like as a minority owner, he can still do like,
you know, like a day to day whatever a minority
owner does. Okay, And I mean they did. They The
(07:25):
Raiders did apparently contact Belichick about going trying to become
the head coach, but it was quickly shot down. Belichick
was to say at u NC, so the six week
tenure as a head coach now will expand to seven
weeks and counting for Belichick.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
But I gotta think I gotta think they probably contact
Ben Johnson. I think everyone's gonna contact Ben Johnson at
this point.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I know the Patriots are.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
The Patriots have an interview with him on Friday, but
I don't think they will because they already got their
Rooney Rule all shaped up together by interviewing Pep Hamilton
and Byron Leftwich, which I don't really know how to
feel about that because I don't really think they're going
to be coordinators this season, so they kind of got
(08:10):
the head coaching gigs so they can kind of get
the Rooney roll all done. I watched Albert Breer talk
about it, and you know, the Patriots kind of like
manipulated the rules trying to get that role all done,
try to quickly get everything done so they could hire
Rable probably by tomorrow or Friday morning.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
I don't know if it's just manipulating the rules is
what everyone does. I mean, it's happy. It happens every year.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Now it's just filling the checking the boxes what they're doing.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
Yeah, me and Jake were talking about it. That used
to be the Romeo Crenell thing. That's what you say.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Every year.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
It was always room doing every single job because they
just got to check those boxes.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Untun So we move from head coaches. Now I could
go into the injury round up and well I put
rest update because I did it for week eighteen and
you know completely forgot to change it now. Uh, let's
see if I scroll down a little bit. Commanders. Marshaun
Lattimore he practiced in full today with from his hamstring
(09:09):
injury that he suffered yet again with the Commanders, So
him and Mike Evans were gonna have a clash of
the century, probably better than Paul and Tyson, so expect
a good battle from them. If Latimore does infect play
Sunday night in Tampa Bay Ravens are expected to not
have Zay Flowers this week. He's considered a long shot
to play for the Baltimore Ravens, but Kyle Hamilton, who
(09:31):
got hurt in the middle of the game against the
Browns last week, did practice in full, so expect him
to potentially be a full go for Saturday night against
the Steelers. Antoine Winfield was a full participant with the
knee injury, and Jordan Love, who was limited with an
elbow injury, says he's hopeful to play on Sunday in Philadelphia.
So yeah, a lot of uh, that's really it for
(09:54):
injury news. There's really nothing else. Usually I'm going off
for like ten minutes just talking about injuries, and it's
a very late day in the news world. But gentlemen,
we bring up this question once again, and I'm gonna
click it off here so we can all talk about
it and fall here. What are your what is one
one favorite memory from the Wildcard round you can remember
(10:15):
or can recall. Obviously, we talked about this last year,
so we might honestly repeat the same stuff as last year.
But that's okay. If not, we always have, you know,
hundreds of years of uh well hundreds, Yeah, that's a lie.
One hundred years at least of the Wildcard Round being
played here in the National Football League. So whoever wants
to go first can go first.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
I doesn't want to say the exact one.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
What's that the Andrew Luck rookie year come back on
the Chiefs? Like that game is That's probably one of
my favorite games period NFL history because all the sort
of situation around it. I liked Andrew Luck a lot
at Staff, so when he came into the league, I
was like, Wow, just that sham of a game, and
(11:02):
then the whole the situations about around When I was
watching it, it was just a good time.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
That game always will stick out of my brain.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
I'm gonna try to change mine up from last year.
I know I didn't say this last year, so good
to say it. And this segment's about memories and wild
for memories and favorite moments.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
Mine's a little bit different.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
It's not really too much game about the game, but
it is kind of the memory I have. Meanwhile, we're
at Buffalo wild Wings watching the wild Card round in
twenty twenty two, and we were watching the Bengals and
the Raiders and I hit the best odds bet I
had ever hit in sports betting, and it was for
(11:46):
both kickers. They well plus each and I went into
the second half. We went in the halftime and one
kicker at eight points and one kicker at seven points already,
which is insane because I mean, that's a better hit
most games.
Speaker 7 (12:06):
And I think I think it was.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Like a plus thirty two hundred odds bet, like nuts odds. Yeah, crazy,
did not put much money on it, but I still
won like money. So it was like halftime was happening
to me and while we're high fiving for every extra point,
everyal goal. Everything was so hype because I wasn't hitting
(12:29):
any other bets, but I was hitting at that and
that bet was awesome. And that's also the game where
the refs screwed up bad than the whistle out of
the playoffs immediately, and that changed the course of that
playoffs because that was Burrow making it into the super Bowl,
and if the refs maybe didn't up, Burrow wouldn't have
(12:49):
made it out of the wild card round. So that
was a substantial game that that, you know, the results
came out of that year.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
But yeah, no memory.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I see that was the best single I've hit, So
I remember that one.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
What about you, Cole, and what's your favorite wildcard memory
from history?
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Probably not mine. Never saw it. I don't, at least
don't remember seeing it. Clearly, you're gonna go with the
history of I think it was today.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
I think I heard it on the radio today.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Music Music City here, Tennessee. Beating the Bills, walk off
end of the game, think the game's over throw the
ball back, row it again, and the rest is history.
It's easy. Low hanging fruit. That's fine. That's that's meal
all the time on this show. Low hanging Fruit. I
(13:45):
will take it here easily the best moment in Wildcard history.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
I remember watching the when I was like a lot younger,
like probably middle school US. I was watching, like, you know,
the NFL does there, the NFL films does their thing,
and I remember watching like an extensive thing about that
and how like there was like mathematicians, scientists and whatever,
like showing the replay and still shots and doing like
(14:14):
geography or not geography, geometry and stuff about like how
it was correct and this whole thing, and it was.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
I remember how impactful that was.
Speaker 8 (14:25):
I was like, I can't I get tripped up, which realm, yeah,
vividly at like certain games I really liked.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
But when it comes to doing this, I always forget
which actual round.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
It was, So I got mine. It's from two thousand
and nine. It's it used to be, you know, NBC
at the four thirty and then the eight fifteen game
on Saturday, and CBS and Fox had the you know
the one in the four thirty games. You didn't have
you know, two three and the Monday night game. But
I'm gonna pick the best game from the two thousand
and nine Wildcard round, which was the Green Bay pack
(15:00):
in the Arizona Cardinals, the absolute shootout in the Desert,
where the Cardinals had a twenty one point lead going
into the third quarter. Larry Fitzgerald's just having a Larry
Fitzgerald game as usual. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers go
all the way back Greg Jennings, he goes in, Remember
the game that I had a broken leg in. That's
Greg Jennings. Let's not forget about who Greg Jennings was.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Okay, then.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Let's not forget about Gumby either. Okay, big big historical
pieces in this, Okay. And then you know, they go
into overtime. Somehow, Mason Crosby forty five to forty five.
Aaron Rodgers gets face mass he kicks the ball up
to Carlos Dansby. Arizona walks into the end Zone. Probably
one of the most electric finishes in Wildcard playoff history
is just this game alone, just looking at it. Kurt
(15:46):
Warner twenty nine to thirty three, three seventy nine, five touchdowns.
Let's also bring up some other people. Beanie Wells, You
remember Beanie Wells, Ryan Grant, Guys remember Ryan Grant? Yes
on that Amon Green was on this team. I didn't
even know a Mon Green was still playing in two
thousand and nine, but he was there. Tim high Tower
(16:09):
with the Cardinals, Uh, Donald Driver, Early Ducet, Steve Preston.
Oh man, there's a lot of great names on here,
Klay Matthews, Jarrett Bush, Nick Barrett, Geez Calias Campbell, Darnell Dockett, Yeah,
a lot a lot of Antrell Roll was a Cardinal then, jeez, there's.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Just so.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Ended as legacy with the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
There's just so many, like, there's so many names on
that that'd be one of the biggest What if is
just that Cardinals team? Man, if they won the Super Bowl.
I don't want to fend Colton at all, but you know,
Steelers won a fair and square But like, what if
the bounty gat never happened? Would the Cardinals have been
able to do it. They don't have people to targeting
(17:00):
Kurt Warner and concussing him getting all that out of there.
But yeah, let's shift gears here. Okay, we're gonna shift gears.
Which performance from the twenty twenty four regular season stood
out to you most? We got a lot we got
season wise, could be a single game season. If you
(17:21):
guys want to think I could go first on this one,
go for it.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
We know what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
I gotta say it's Lamar Jackson. Wow, Lamar Jackson, Like
there there could be a chance where Lamar Jackson doesn't
throw an interception. All four interceptions of his were not
his fault. They bounced off the receiver's hands, they caused
an interception. Like Lamar could have been absolutely perfect on
the year with no interceptions, and he blew out his
(17:48):
last year MVP results by like tenfold. I got I
give I give credit to a lot for you know,
Lamar and all the slander he gets and he became
that big pocket presence, he's really doing a whole lot
for himself. So him going out there performing each and
every week and kind of like, oh hey, there's not
gonna be a hangover for the Ravens, even though the
Ravens defense looked terrible and the offense had of really
(18:10):
pick up on it. But yeah, I give I give
the credit to uh Lamar here as the performance that
stood out to me the most.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
You know what, I'm gonna have to I'm gonna do this.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
I'm gonna.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Eat some crow.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Bonix crushed the season, and to me, he was one
of my least favorite draft prospects of any of the quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
I thought he was not. He was pretty much pretty nid.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
One of those guys just gets taken in the first
round because of main recognition or combine stuff, and that's
not the case after you're one, not even a close.
I was wrong completely, honestly.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
I'm gonna go with Brian Thomas.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
I he put up what I think he's third in
yards all like the entire season.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I think he finished fifth. You had the l Shue,
you had the lsue, bros A Monrae.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
We know that might have been before Detroit's game.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
No no, no a monro was fifth, So that would
put Brian Thomas probably fourth.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
You could look about it. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Nonetheless, dude's top five in yards on a team that
we objectively say kind of sucks every week between two quarterbacks,
not one, I mean between Mac Jones and Trevor Lawrence.
The year was kind of split. A team was kind
of not an identity whatsoever. They went through running backs,
(19:48):
they went like they they played across seas for two
weeks in a row. You know what, all the factors
that were there for the Jags. Uh could not be
in the best He's third, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
He's third. He's just ahead of Drake London and a manra.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Good for him. Man that's on that team with the
rest of those guys.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
I mean, I mean, Drake London has a good quarterback
though kind of I guess so maybe he's an argument
there the other way, but either way, whatever, Uh, good
for him.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Good for Brian Thomas.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
I think that needs to be Rookie of the Year period.
It probably won't be, but I think it needs to be.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
What what was Garrett Wilson to be the year of stats?
Was that worse than this?
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
He was over a thousand hold and I can tell
you his Rookie of the Year stats.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I'd love to know.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
But Thomas got eleven three.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
So less Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Yeah, So you know what, man, Brian Thomas, I think
he deserves Rookie the Year.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
I think he's earned it. Uh And that's despite all.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
Those negative factors around him every week on that team,
two different quarterbacks coaching everything. So I think that stands
out a lot. I'm glad that we're saying that. I
don't think any of us thought we'd say.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Can I just say that three of the top five
receivers and four of the top ten for LSU guys.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
That's kind of wild how many didn't make plays in
the top five.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Receivers, Jamar Jamar London, Brian Thomas, Yeah, Jefferson's in it,
Sat Brown's in it.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Crazy, that's kind of nuts.
Speaker 7 (21:45):
But uh yeah, Colton take it away.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
For me, it's the Washington Commanders and Jane Daniels who
would have thought this team was probably third in everyone's
division picks. This Giants sucked, That's whatever. But this is
how important quarterback is in this league. Because it's not like, oh,
(22:09):
he's got a ton of weapons. He rejuvenated an old,
washed up zach Ertz to having a hell of a
season for zach Ertz, a guy that's probably in the
comeback player of the Year type of role here, just
like Sam Darnold, another gentleman who had a hell of
twenty twenty four, got himself probably a paycheck at least
another legitimate shot at a starting quarterback, whether that continues
(22:33):
to be in Minnesota depending how their postseason run goes.
But Jaden Daniels big shot to this draft class in general.
I mean, we talked about Brian Thomas. You just mentioned
the league neighbors with shit quarterback play from Daniel Jones,
the Drew Lock, Tommy.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
Cutlets, Tim Boyle. Can't forget about Tim Boyle, man.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
You and these all these random bum jet quarterbacks NFL.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
One touchdown in twenty one in somehow he has a
job in the NFL. I can't ever figure that out.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
Yeah, the NFL is weird with guys that they keep around.
But this draft class was definitely special. There's a lot
that you can shout out in twenty twenty four. I
mean what Jim Harball did with the LA Chargers. I
think we kind of all knew that this team is gonna,
like actually have its crap together and show what they
could be. And I mean this team people probably wrote
(23:24):
off you trade away Keenan Allen, you trade away your
first two receivers, and then you have a guy who
had zero like catch his last season was absolutely terrible,
and Quentin Johnson is like your only receiver on the
active rockster pretty much going into the draft. Then you
have Lad mcconachie. Like, there's a lot in twenty twenty
four that you can shout out. That's what's cool that
(23:45):
the NFL. There's a lot of stories that you didn't
see coming. I can tell you that. That's what's fun
about football, man, That's why football is always king. And
it's gonna be fun next year seeing what happens. I mean,
not as exciting, because unless cam Ward magically turns into
something special or Door Sanders, you're not gonna see those
(24:06):
big leaps from some of the franchises like the Titans
if they take a quarterback, or the Raiders or the
Giants wherever they may go. But it was a fun
receiver class, I mean, neighbors and.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
The most receptions in a season, the battles.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
He had history all over the place from this draft class.
So it was definitely how the job from a lot
of the teams this year with the draft class, and
we'll see how good they do this year. I know
this draft class coming up is a little bit tighter
as far as talent wise, so we'll see what teams
gets them hits and that'll be cool at the end
of the season, as we can't that. But there's definitely
(24:44):
a lot you can talk about in twenty twenty four.
Which coaching performances shocked you? And what rookies, I mean,
took the lead by storm this season, And yet again,
big shout out the boat Nicks. I thought the Denver
Broncers are gonna suck balls. I thought they're gonna be
laughing stock of that division. Bo Knicks played very very
well with just one receiver by the way, in Courtland
(25:04):
Sun and no more than Mims got hot at the end.
But bo Knicks definitely surprised a lot of people, that's
for sure.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Now I got to ask the next question here, Okay,
now that we're down from thirty two teams to fourteen teams,
which team can make a surprise run towards the Super
Bowl in New Orleans this season?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
I really want to hop on everything Colton's talking about
and want to say the Chargers, I think they start
off in the most perfect position for them, and at Yeah,
I mean in Houston. I think that's like the best
matchup they could have. Houston has struggled all year to
get here essentially. I mean week after week it was like,
(25:51):
oh man, they kind of need a good week this week,
and put up a media ocre week like almost every week.
Speaker 7 (25:57):
And the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Man offense is good.
Speaker 9 (26:02):
Justin Herbert, this is like his I feel like his
real first chance because everything under Stalley sucked. I think
this is really his first chance to show it, like
in the playoffs for the first time. Burrow was not
in this playoffs, and Herbert could be the Burrow of
this playoffs.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
I mean, straight up and down. And the Chargers defense
is there.
Speaker 9 (26:23):
I mean the defense at points in this season was
like a top two defense.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
So I really think the Chargers have a solid chance.
Their path after Houston is questionable, but you know what,
get past Houston, get past the wildcard round, and anything's
really pretty possible. You're two wins away from the super
Bowl at that point. So I really like where the
Chargers are sitting in these playoffs.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I like how it's starting.
Speaker 6 (26:53):
I like going into the playoffs, and I don't think
that they're technically right at this moment, just a straight
up surprise. I think they're primed and ready for this.
So yeah, that's what I like.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
But there's one very clear answer that no team should
want to see that's not like one of the top
seeded teams, and that's the Buccaneers.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Anybody wants to see any part of them coming to
your stadium. There any given week, Baker Mayfield could go
off for five touchdowns and their defense is also pretty good.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
They beat a healthy Detroit Lions this season too, exactly.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Because Baker Mayfield. I think he had like at least
four touchdowns, may not five in that game.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, and he got sacked like six times by Aiden Hutchinson.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Like, even if they look bad in the game, parts
like they still like just hang around.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
And they've had this is a year where I feel
like we didn't see many blowouts. We didn't see many
like really large gap victories all that often, like only
maybe one or two a week if that I felt like,
and I know Tampa Bay has had a few, so
I do, I will say, like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
They made the Chargers look awful. They went to so
far and they stomped all over them.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
They have that record of ticking teams look terrible.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
Yeah, I think I underestimate two and then Tampa Bay
just like comes out and plays in your face.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Bro, I'm gonna go with a Los Angeles team, but
I'm gonna go with the Rams. I don't think any
team wants any part of the Rams either, especially on
that offense, because I still think it's very hard to
contain both Puka and Cup, even though Cups only been
working Cardio for the last four weeks of the season.
So I don't I don't think anyone wants any part
(28:54):
of the Rams team because in the playoffs they are
a much different team and they are a much different animal,
and they will just like the Buccaneers, put in your
face and back you up against the wall when you
know the game's on the line.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Yeah, I hate the piggyback off off Don, but I'm
also taking the Chargers. I don't know who else surprises
me in this in this playoff race. I also agree
with Jake on his but I think for me, the
Chargers that travels, that team travels. You have a good defense,
(29:30):
you have a super Bowl coach that's been there probably
should have won it, but he's been there, he's done
at the college level as well. He's a winner. And
the way he wants his teams to play that travels defense,
running the football and having good quarterback play, complimentary quarterback
play that travels. And that's the LA Chargers. They have
(29:52):
a nice tone setter to start off the postseason. With
the Houston Texans, I think they can get their mojo
go and get JK. Dobbins back swing at things. I
know he's just starting to get back from his injury.
I think it's the LA Chargers or the team to
watch out for as a sleeper.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
That's all I got from those questions. And I want
to just go back long season, eighteen weeks, the very
long season. Okay, a couple of bye weeks, a couple
of just everything exhaustion kind of sets in, and let's
go back and look at our memory lane. Pick I
don't have, I don't have the slide up or just gonna,
you know, break it down really quick here. Okay, I
want to scroll back up this Google doc which is
(30:35):
twenty five pages long.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
Here, should we make it back?
Speaker 6 (30:38):
You want to break it down like everyone, everyone thinks
their biggest failure was.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
And I already know what mine is. My biggest failure
if you were picking playoff teams first in the AFC
is definitely the Jets in the In the NFC side,
it's definitely the Falcons. Those are my two biggest.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Live with a lot of my my.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
But again because I could ever figure out the damn
AFC East.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Just shp.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
But I mean I like, I like, especially my awards
for me.
Speaker 6 (31:21):
I mean I going into the preseason picks and stuff,
I mean, we all put.
Speaker 7 (31:28):
The Niners and then that was a common that one
for all of us whatever.
Speaker 6 (31:34):
The fact that none of us picked the Pills for
the East is crazy, but like it made sense preseason,
but it's still funny. I was really super sold on
the Texans. I was going hardcore on the Texans of.
Speaker 7 (31:49):
Like c J. Straud's rookie year to MVP. That was
my whole move.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
Damika Ryan's head coach, Like I I committed hard on
the Texans and they super fell up short for that,
Like not one time was that confident in that the
whole year. Like that was definitely one of my biggest failures.
I mean, it's a team that still made it but
hardly like just kinda I mean sure, so yeah, not
(32:16):
what I was expecting and really holding up there for
the Textans.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
What about you, coland any any regrets from picking playoff teams?
I mean you can I know where he's gonna go
with this one, you know, talking about the Falcons, it's
always about the Falcons.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Honestly, did the Bears do? Did I not pick the Bears?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah? You picked the Bears with me?
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Yeah, I gotta stop with the Bears in Atlanta. You
freaking bastards tricked me into the Falcons. Yeah, convinced me
with all the freaking talk of the Falcons got hot?
Is the year with the Falcons? Nah, Falcons suck and
the Bears or the Jets of the NFC they're doomed,
They're screw, doesn't matter, both those franchises kiss my ass.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
I got I got double sold on the Jets, and
I regret that two years in a row.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
You you at least you picked the Dolphins to win
the division, but.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Again that that should that should have been your pick.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yeah, mine was the Jets.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
And that was the moment too. It gets hurt and
it's done. And he knew that for going in.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Uh, and looking back at the award pages and all
that stuff. If the Bengals made the playoffs, I think
Jake has a really good chance here getting m v P.
But the rest of us went oh for three and
just struck out immediately. I still think he could Burrow
could win the MVP. I know he won't because of
the playoffs, but like, look at his season compared to
like the two quarters that are like really being talked
(33:47):
about it, like he blows them both out of the water.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
God and I picked out again, I hard committed on
the Texans, I mean that was that was my move.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
And Mad Madden picked Lamar. I mean they were on
the some then.
Speaker 7 (34:00):
Yeah, that's fair.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
And then I offensive Player of the Year committed at
the Jets said Garrett Wilson is gonna do that dumb move.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
I mean, hey, you got tyree kill b John Robinson,
Christian McCaffrey four four thumbs downs. Uh, defensive player. I
don't even know what Daniel Hunter has done at all
this season. T J. Watt. I mean, I don't know
if he's gonna win it. Micah got hurt, Mad Max
(34:29):
was out, you know, last month of the season. Offensive
rookie I'm very curious word defensive Player of the Year goes.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
It's gonna go to Jared versus guaranteed, no defensive player. No,
I have no idea Patrick's.
Speaker 7 (34:45):
He was favorite odds.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
I don't think that's the right move, but like, I
don't know what the right move is this year. So
would have been Aiden Hutchinson if he was healthy, like
he was off to the most incredible start.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
But yeah, they probably could have broken the sack record
if he was healthy.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
He was.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
He Trey Hendrickson, Yeah, yeah, he had seventeen and a.
Speaker 8 (35:13):
Half probably probably is maybe, And.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
We got offensive rookie where you know, four of the
five of us got Caleb Jake when Jaden So, I mean,
by the looks if it looks like Jade's gonna be
clinching that up. And then defensive rookie. We all went
different ways here, but it could be Jared versus award
to lose since the Rams have really ignited that younger
(35:40):
version of themselves.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Quenon Mitchell.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Comeback player, Jake, I think so Jake could still get
it with Burrow right hit that and then Coach of
the Year. I mean, hey, charger ball, we all we
all have gyms.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
And then I hard committed at the Texans. It's so
crazy how much I bit me in the ass, you
know what, I love.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
I was comparing. I saw a thing comparing the last
ten games of the season between like Stroud and Young
and Bryce Shung is beaten Stroud and everything like statistical
in the last ten games bad.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
He's not a bad quarterback. I don't think he's bad.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
And they got it, really got it together.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
We all kind of agreed that it was the Panthers suck.
Bryce does not.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, we all do agree. Let's going on the game
of the week here. Okay, enough of the picks. I
mean here, we got the Super Bowl ones where I
picked the Aaron Rodgers bull one of the teams is
still alive. We got lines and Texans one. Obviously, don
(36:53):
just hard. You all went hard on the Texans.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (36:56):
We all picked text to make the AFC, which is
kind of nuts.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
And it was pretty clear week for read. I remember
I was on a plane on watching I think it
was the Viking. It was the game against the Vikes,
and I'm like, oh boy, this is not good.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Yeah, uh, but here we go. Let's talk about game
of the week, which game from Week eighteen stood out
to you.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Oh I'm I'm reading damn Falcons.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
All you had to do was just to possibly get
yourself in place to win the division against Washington.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
And then.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Was losing to the Saints. All you have to do
is beat the Panthers and they put up forty on you.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
What are you doing? And let's not forget Bryce Shunk
did the whole Steph Curry thing where you know he
makes the shot, he turns around, he just starts like
show boating away and it's just like the coldest shot
in NFL history. I wish I had that sound. I
wish I had my I got I think I got
my sweat. I grew back.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
Oh that was a really honestly, it was an incredible
game because every time I looked at the score, every
time it came on on red zone, everything was up,
we're tied again.
Speaker 7 (38:12):
Oh we're tired again. Oh we're tied thirty one, thirty one,
We're tired.
Speaker 6 (38:16):
Like everything in that game was just it was such
a That was like the only game I feel like
this week where it was like, oh, hey, that's a
true regular season game, because everything else was like Denver
winning by thirty eight zero. You know, it's like stupid
stuff like that, But all you had to do was
beat an infearior opponent at home, yep, and you had
(38:37):
a chance the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Yeah, instead you got Davion Clowney. You're telling all the
Falcons fans will see you in Cancun and waving to them.
Speaker 7 (38:45):
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (38:50):
Oh yeah, I'm also jumping on the Carolina Atlanta game
as well. Bryce Young playing some great ball and the
season for Carolina. Definitely cool seeing him have his act together.
Nice to see them get another receiver there, like, that's
the only thing that scares me. They don't have a
(39:11):
legit one. It's like Adam theones eventually gonna fall off.
He's just too old. It doesn't have like the number
one wide out characteristics. I like, exaber get Jalen Cocher
as well, showed up for them as a nice little piece,
but they need a legit guy. So I'll be curious
what they do in pre agency, because now you have
(39:32):
paid two running backs and Miles Sanders and Schuba Hubbard
for some god news, what reason. What you're doing there, Carolina,
Please figure that out. You're already paid one. What are
you doing, and you drafted Jonathan Brooks. I gotta got
hurt again. I get it you can't rely on him,
but gosh, no, you don't need to pay running backs.
I thought you were wearing with McCaffrey. Apparently not. But
(39:54):
Atlanta in Carolina for me on this one also, I
wanted to take Tampa so long to realize they had
to win like that was like I just like I
remember I was doing stuff someday and then like I
looked at the score and I'm like, holy sh it,
doesn't doesn't he about have to win this game? But
what are they doing? And like sucks?
Speaker 1 (40:15):
They were on the field picking the flowers, all the
dandelion's growing in Raymond James Stadium.
Speaker 5 (40:20):
I saw Landa was winning, like, oh my god, the
Bucks might blow this thing.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Where are you going down?
Speaker 7 (40:32):
I Carolina and Atlanta?
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Like I said, it was.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
Like everything it was a higher score and tied every time. Bro,
I was like this is a game, like this is
such a game right now and then for time.
Speaker 7 (40:46):
Like everything he wanted it to be.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Did you say yours Drake?
Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
Yeah, he was the one that started this all.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
Okay, uh yeah, I'll pick the four o'clock winder here,
I'll pick a Niners and Cardinals. There past or not
makes his return to the desert. Cardinals looked really good,
forty six points. They look pretty good to close out a.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Close game until like the fourth quarter and then Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah took off. Yeah Michael Carter and then I forgot
who the other guy was that, you know, running backs
just like took off. But hey, Trey McBride the last
three games of the season scored I don't know what
four touchdowns he found the end zone.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Wow, one of mine from the start of the season, like, hey,
draft back.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
But yes, those are our games of the week and
from games of the week, buy, sell, and hold week eighteen. Essentially,
everything's up for grabs here wherever we want to go
for buying, selling, and holding.
Speaker 5 (41:45):
Uh you know, so what are we on buys? Because
I would love to just skip the cells. But are
we starting with buys here? The bad.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Dude? What do I want to buy? I mean, I
don't know what I want to buy.
Speaker 5 (42:06):
I just know what I want to sell instantly, So
I guess I'll buy into Lamar getting a big game
in the postseason. I'll keep it all revealved around this game.
I'm gonna buy on Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry steamroll
in Pittsburgh Sunday. There's my buy in. Big shout out,
Bye bye bye Bryce Young.
Speaker 6 (42:29):
I held last week. I held two teams, playoff teams.
Like my hold last week was like, hey, I'm gonna
hold the playoff version of these two teams, and that
was the Playoff Chargers and the Playoff Broncos.
Speaker 7 (42:44):
I wanted to see what week a team looked like
and just like how I was gonna give up.
Speaker 6 (42:48):
And this worked out great because I'm gonna only buy
one of those teams, and we talked about it. We
did enough talking about it, so I'm gonna keep it
short and simple, but I'm gonna buy the playoff Chargers
and then ready to go.
Speaker 7 (43:01):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
I do all the things that said. I do very
much believe in that team and what they can do,
and I don't consider them a surprise. I think I
was surprised if they wins and weren't just just missing
out like you're good enough.
Speaker 5 (43:21):
Now.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
I think that the team can legitimately beat anybody in
that AFC, and again very well could be a burrowb.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I got two buys. I'm gonna buy into bray Shung
thats what Colton said. And I'm gonna buy into the Jaguars.
I think the good do what it takes to turn
to the franchise around. So I'll buy into the Jags.
As we head into the off season there in Jacksonville,
what about Cells, Colton, big cell guy, let's hear about him.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
Cell guy. I'm selling on the entire Stewards franchise. Until
Mike Tomlin's gone, this team is gonna be the mediocre MIC.
This team's gonna be the same bullshit every season. We're
a delusional fan base. I don't care what anyone tells you.
Staler fans are delusional. I bought into this team multiple times.
I'm like, oh wait, this team is legit. It is
not the team for review years back. I think it
(44:16):
was what twenty eighteen or whatever you're trying to run
in the year they were undefeated and then they just
came crappling down to earth. But anyway or no, no
twenty team, god geez, twenty yes, twenty twenty not that
long ago. Excuse me, Yeah, this team sucks until my
Tomlin's gone. This team to kiss my fucking ass was
(44:40):
deciding whether to curse or not. I'm gonna go fudging
one cake testing today, so I'll stick with fudge. This
team sucks sell Sell, Sell, sell, Sell.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
You're kind of selling. Jim Kramer on MSNBC telling you
what the Biden the cell.
Speaker 5 (44:56):
Yeah, Arms, I mean, this team sucks up. It's slipped out,
it's too late. I don't even care anymore. This seem sucks.
I'm tired of it. I want Mike Tomin gone. I
don't know how many times has to tell everyone he's mediocre. Mike,
he doesn't know how to ad justin gains. Where the
hell is justin fields? Because Russell Wilson's going losing it?
Where the hell is justin fields?
Speaker 1 (45:17):
I'm excited for Aaron Rodgers to be in a Steeler
uniform next season with the George Reagan is gonna lose
his ship.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Not getting the one't surprise me in the slightest. Aaron
Rodgers going there and Mike Tomlins the coach one surprised
me in the slightest.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
They're gonna have that camera off. They're gonna know where
the one that Jim, that Jim camera is at all
times just giving their faces to it.
Speaker 5 (45:35):
Dealers are terrified of like drafting a quarterback and waiting
and not having a five hundred season, because apparently that's amazing.
I'm just not having a losing season, but just being
one and done all these years. I guess that's great.
I guess just making the playoffs and picking back in uh,
you know, twenty one twenty two position every single time,
(45:56):
it's great. Yeah, I can keep brand on. This team sucks.
I'm so tired of them. I can't believe I bought
in on them early in the season saying this is
a contender and yeah, can George Pickins like grow up
and remember he's in the NFL and has a big
boy job.
Speaker 7 (46:13):
Please?
Speaker 5 (46:14):
Is that possible.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
To tomlin Way has let those personalities run wild.
Speaker 5 (46:19):
I that's not his thing, though, is Antonio Brown didn't
run Antonio Brown ab didn't run wild? And Levion was fine,
see you seem no, no, no, no. Leveon wanted his bag
because the Steelers would run him a million times and
still throw him the football on top of it. Boy
wanted his bag and serious, here, we're gonna be cheap.
You take this, he said, no, And I don't blame.
(46:41):
You want to guarantees. The Steers don't guarantee money their
old fashion, and Mike Thomains snitched on himself at the podium.
See you bastards did to me. I'm already still going
on this. I want to stop. Two minutes ago, Mike
Thomas said at the podium at his press conference Monday
or twosa. I don't even know what day that asset
off and he said.
Speaker 4 (46:59):
We we were.
Speaker 5 (47:00):
This is our this is our Steers culture. It is
controlling the football in good defense. Mike. This isn't the nineties.
You need to put up points.
Speaker 7 (47:08):
In this league.
Speaker 5 (47:09):
No one cares about your defense, how good it is.
I don't care. You held Joe Burrow. Who if that
Bengals had the defense, they win, They make the playoffs,
probably win the division. He wins the MVP. You held
him the nineteen points in your building and you lost.
Kiss my ass, Get the hell out of Pittsburgh and
go do the ninety shit somewhere else. I'm tired of it.
It is twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five. Kiss my ass,
(47:31):
Mike Tomlin, Holy crap.
Speaker 7 (47:33):
Please, Next I might put this on the TikTok segment.
Speaker 1 (47:37):
Actually and he goes into the abyss. Oh he came back.
I'm back, and it's like the home. It's the Homer
Simpson Bush. Just lean back really quick. You got gotta
lean back. It's like you've vanished into the abyss. There.
Speaker 5 (47:51):
I might vanish and not come back.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
I'll pick up your spirits here cold I got one.
It's the damn Giants, because not only are you going
to recognize that you spailed every this season, going back
to the hard knocks, and and we're wrong about it all.
You know, no one should paytake on the money. Montgomery
(48:14):
is just as good. You give Dayn weapons, he'll be fine,
protect them, he'll be fine.
Speaker 4 (48:20):
And none of it s beeem true.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Mart's having trouble sleeping, and he's more concerned about his
like possible acting career, and and you're you're just gonna
take all that and you're gonna keep the guy there
that just was abruptly wrong about everything about his job.
Speaker 4 (48:35):
Second, the Jaguars. I'm selling the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Because they won't fire bulky at after He's like around to,
you can't the puppy clean up the puppies mess. He's
created the mess behind me by hiring or Remyer and
all the players around that apparently aren't good enough for
the coach. And yet now when it comes to when
you can possibly get a good coach like Ben Johnson,
(49:01):
I'm not gonna go there because of him.
Speaker 4 (49:04):
That's been a report that's out there.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
They're gonna have trouble getting top coaching talent because of
Bulky being well.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
Whatever his name is, shod Cohn or whatever. He said like, oh,
if the coach wants me to fire the GM, I'll
fire the GM. Like he said that on like the
press conference.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
They're not firing him.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
So he's talking at both sides of mouthcause he always does.
It's like they're gonna spend it on players, not put
anything around him the coach coaching wise. And when you
have the opportunity right now, see cash in and actually
do the thing to maybe not to lose your investment
in Trevor Lawrence, you're gonna like just completely piss it
(49:41):
away once again.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
What about you, dumb? Where is your cell going?
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Okay, so.
Speaker 6 (49:50):
I have two cells. Now, while Jake was talking, another
cell came up on my cell phone.
Speaker 7 (49:59):
I'll start with that.
Speaker 6 (50:02):
I'm gonna sell the Jets I wasn't going to touch
anything off season.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Really pick them. They're already dead. Yeah, the Jets, they're
already dead.
Speaker 6 (50:12):
They're posting on like their social media is who they're who,
they've completed interviews for.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
That's what all teams that they all got to do.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
That they're doing it.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
Yeah, yeah, you have to post.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
What they do is embarrassing. They're they interviewed Matt n
Aggie and I just think that's hilarious.
Speaker 7 (50:32):
I just please take them.
Speaker 6 (50:34):
It's not going to fix it, but I think it's
funny that they they.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
They're interviewing uh spags at some point before the.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
End of the Week two, that's the most Jets.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
When it came across viewing Tampa Bay Buccaneers cat guy
Mike Greenberg, everyone immediately assumed because of the Jets.
Speaker 4 (50:54):
It was.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Like, that's funny, actually that that'should tell you everything about.
Speaker 6 (51:02):
The Jets and fans might not be too and my
other cells Bengals for not doing the Zach Taylor thing
because I'm over and done with it. You got to
improve somewhere, and it's just like keeping them just like
saying with what we did this season is not your move.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
So I just don't. I'm not.
Speaker 7 (51:22):
I think Zach mctaylor needed to go. The team could
be better.
Speaker 6 (51:26):
What's kind of my self because I didn't want to
sell selling the other team I held last week, which
was the playoff Broncos. But it's like low key, like
there's this really small chance that they could still have
a good game, even though it's a tough match.
Speaker 7 (51:40):
There's a small, small chance that they could do something.
Speaker 6 (51:44):
So I don't want to just outright sell them.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Uh, I got one cell and I'm just going to
resell it again like I did last week. The Houston Texans,
congratulations you used the Texans make it to the playoffs.
Saturday four thirty. They're never getting another damn slot at
all during their entire existence in the playoffs, it's only
the Saturday four thirty window. Go through history, it's always
Saturday four thirty. You have to watch the Houston Texans play.
(52:10):
It's always like that, ever since they made the playoffs
in twenty eleven, it's always them. If they advance, oh
maybe you'll get a Saturday at eight fifteen, or if
you have to go to Baltimore. It's like a one
o'clock game on a Sunday afternoon. I'm like, so over
last year they gave him two four to thirty games.
They're like, who wants to watch these guys? Like at night?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
They kid, I'm.
Speaker 1 (52:32):
Done with the Texans. I don't. I think they are
a one and done team. I think the Colts are
just gonna throttle them and just call it that. So, yeah,
that's my cell And what about holds, guys, what are
we holding on to?
Speaker 5 (52:43):
Yeah, I'm sticking all AFC Nords, Steelers, Ravens, min As
will keep going here. I'm gonna hold on to mister
Horrorball here in this game as well. I think both
coaches desperately need this game, which is kind of funny.
I think if the Ravens somehow mag if we lose
to the Steelers, I think Harball's in a little bit
of trouble here in Baltimore, just like I think Mike
(53:03):
Tomlin is in trouble here as well if he loses
with the Steelers on Saturday night. So I'm holding on
Harball and his Raven's tenure because I think if they
lose somehow to Pittsburgh, I think he's in deep crap
with Baltimore.
Speaker 6 (53:23):
I'm gonna hold two teams that I need to see,
like I mean, obviously you need to see whatever team win,
you know, whatever, But two teams that I think are
actually kind of in danger but if they win, like
I were in it now.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
Maybe one is Washington.
Speaker 7 (53:42):
We talked about Tampa Bay before.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
It's a winnable game for Washington.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
Good.
Speaker 6 (53:47):
It's an uphill battle, but it's a winnable game, and
that'd be sick for this very very new Washington team
which has succeeds. Right this is a success here. We
talked about that increasing with the success. This was successful
year for the Salamanders. But I think this is here
we are. If you win, that's credible, bro, And maybe
(54:08):
we'll see what happens next week. And the other team
for me is the Rams. I know Will is about
the Rams this matchup. I'm not the most particular to
the Rams right now. I did more research than face value,
and their last year regular season game they led up
three hundred plus the Kyler. I just don't I think
(54:32):
that Minnesota is too good and the Rams could just let.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Too much up.
Speaker 7 (54:37):
Puka is cool.
Speaker 6 (54:38):
Cup hasn't really been doing much, but it could work out.
Whatever Tiran's awesome. They're good on offense, but I just
don't know if they could do enough against this pretty
solid Minnesota team who didn't take up this past week.
They're still very much in it and engaged. Maybe the
Rams taking a break this past week wasn't the best move,
(54:59):
like you know, so I just think if the Rams win,
I'm back in it with the Rams.
Speaker 2 (55:04):
Right here we are.
Speaker 6 (55:05):
The playoffs could happen for the Rams. It's possible, but
they need to you know, this wind needs to happen
for them. I'm on the fence about them. So it's
really I just gonna approach this and who are my on.
Speaker 7 (55:17):
Defense teams this week?
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Similar thought like the Buccaneers on the other end, because.
Speaker 4 (55:28):
Is this a winnable game?
Speaker 3 (55:29):
Absolutely, Like they're probably better than the Commanders, but I
could see how like this is one of those it's
probably a win or lose for either team, Like.
Speaker 4 (55:38):
It's a pre tight one.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
But if Tampa wins this game, it really starts to
open up on what they can do.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
Much too. It is the same thought processing really a
lot of other.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
Teams, and my hold is going to be the Commanders.
Let's see what they could do National Spotlight Sunday Night Football,
second time in three weeks.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
First time.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
Let's do it pre match your week one. Can they
do it?
Speaker 4 (56:10):
Well?
Speaker 3 (56:10):
They also the they're the longest team without a playoff
one in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
No, they have they I saw it was like not till.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
Like the Dolphins are definitely there. The Dolphins were like two.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
Thousand yeah, I know, like the Washington Washington's.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
Like Washington's like two thousand and five.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
Yeah, still pretty Yeah. Even the Jets have a win.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Multiple Yeah, they interviewed the guy that last got in
this one, so that's even funnier.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
All right, here we go Week eight well, Week eighteen.
Wild card picks. Okay, wildcard picks are here, and here
was the regular season results. Dom jumped in the second
on the board. There, Jake will finish first, Colton was third,
in Iowa was four. That's how they ended here.
Speaker 5 (57:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (57:05):
Yeah, Now they go.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Into the points and the points yeah don't matter. The
points do not matter anymore. It's like the show whose
line is anyway the points? The points don't matter, says Colin.
The points don't matter. And here we go the Houston
Texans slot for the Wildcard Round four point thirty on
(57:28):
a Saturday afternoon, so you can still get your tours done.
Because the Houston Texans. Let's also remind every one of
that AFC South winners. Two years in a row, Chargers
returned to the playoffs for the first time under the
Harbaugh residents. There. Chargers eleven and six on the year,
Texans were ten and seven. So yeah, we got that
(57:50):
going for us here and we are sweeping the Chargers,
who will be on the road against the whoever else,
whoever advances, and then we go to the prime video
game from Houston. We go to Baltimore. The third, the hey,
third matchup here. We're excited here AFC North football money,
(58:12):
the six sy Pittsburgh Steelers four game losing streak, the
Ravens killing it hot, one of the hottest teams in
the league right now. It all comes down to this.
We're all taking Baltimore. That's how it's going on.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
Mars biggest playoff.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
Now.
Speaker 7 (58:26):
He needs a point, he has one, doesn't one?
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Yeah, because like he has two, he's two.
Speaker 5 (58:32):
They're hey, we're winning the super Bowl. It doesn't matter.
I don't know if anyone saw the stats, you might
as well, throw uh, throw out your money on the
Baltimore Ravens. I don't know if anyone saw the history
with the Ravens. Oh after trying, del For won the
Super Bowl twelve years later. Oh, by the way, Dell
For twenty eight years old. Twelve years later, twenty eight
year old Joe Flacco wins Super Bowl. Twelve years later
(58:56):
this year, twenty eight year old Olmar Jackson raven win
the Super Bowl. So make sure you go out get
your bets in. Ravens win this game. Ravens win Super Bowl.
Sorry for the spoiler this early into the postseason for you,
but AFC that's already taken care for you Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 6 (59:14):
And bet on the Ravens to score thirty four points
because they do it the other two times in the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
And we go to the Sunday slate of games. We
one o'clock here CBS the Broncos, who no one had
making the playoffs. They go on a run. Bow Knicks
having an incredible season, Sean Payton definitely in the contention
for Coach of the Year. They travel a Buffalo. Last
time these two teams faced, Will Lutts kicked a game
winning field goal and stunned the Buffalo Bills. This was
(59:42):
last season and the Bills, who everyone rode off. Oh,
Josh Allen doesn't have anyone, forget about it. He's having
a MVP contention type season. We're all taking the Buffalo
Bills on this pick. And from Western New York we
go down to Philadelphia where the Packers who last year,
let's remind everyone, seventh seed, first ever seventh seed to
(01:00:04):
win a playoff game against nonetheless a NFC East team.
Eagles helped contain the entire rhythm of I don't even
know how to explain it, twenty years of different winners
in the divisional championships, winners in the NFC East, the
seventh seed and the two seed. And we're all picking
the Philadelphia Eagles. And from the coldness of the Northeast
(01:00:28):
we go down to Florida. But at this point it'll
be dark because it'll be eight o'clock. The Commanders and
the Buccaneers rematch a week one, and hey, Jaden, last
time they played two rushing touchdowns, no passing touchdowns. He's
a lot more comfortable in the offense Baker Mayfield now
under Liam Cohen, he's been lighting it up, even better
career highs than he had last season, getting them that payday.
(01:00:50):
I am going to lone wolf the Washington Commanders and
you guys are taking the Tampa Bay Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
and from Florida we go to the West Coast Monday
Night football. Last time these two teams face was Thursday night.
Jared Verse with a key face mask missed face mask
call given the Rams the win there on Thursday Night
(01:01:13):
against the Vikings can lightning strike twice. I am lone
wolfing the Los Angeles Rams here.
Speaker 5 (01:01:19):
Uh, I'm glad no one's gonna do it, but I'm
gonna call you out on it. Shocker, you pick your
damn teams to win, Washington Commanders fan go figure, and
you picked the La Rams to win. No ship.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
As I've told everyone, you have an entire other side
of that room in your basement there that it's all
Ravens gear, and you picked the Ravens. Okay, I've been
saying this for the years now. You're like, oh, try
the moonshine down here. And I saw the entire Ravens wall. Okay,
everyone everyone knows I've been I've been preaching this for years.
Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
I'm just more surprised he picked against Sam Darnold. Yeah
that I thought that was gonna trump rams fandom.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
After last week. I don't know. I'm a little nervous there. Wow,
they had what it takes to beat the Lions, but
unfortunately it didn't turn out that way.
Speaker 5 (01:02:03):
Ram's House and Commander's town Baby, So doesn't shock me.
Speaker 6 (01:02:08):
I will say, two of these matchups, I just did
the research.
Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Two of these chops.
Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
None of us picked either team in so none of us.
Speaker 6 (01:02:18):
Picked Denver and Buffalo to make playoffs this year.
Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
That's a matchup.
Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
And none of us Washington or Tampa Bay to make
playoffs this year.
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
I picked Washington. Shit christ. As I said in Week sixteen,
my cell was dom Math. Okay, I have it here.
Don Math's the absolute worst math Commy's seven.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
I was looking at I was looking.
Speaker 6 (01:02:44):
I was looking for commanders, and I was just like
singing for commanders, and you guys wrote comedies and I
just all right, never mind used to.
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
Call them the commanders.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
Yeah, no, you're right, Okay, Well, Denver and Buffalo did
so many say.
Speaker 7 (01:03:03):
It is funny every time.
Speaker 6 (01:03:07):
Time, but nonetheless, then you match up that none of
us picked any team in is Denver.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
And Buffalo, so that is cool.
Speaker 7 (01:03:17):
But yeah that's damn.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
Uh bringing something to the table.
Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
Suck.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
As I said week sixteen, Don Math, so I'm still
correct on you. I'm still selling on Don Math. Okay,
you're like Kevin from the office and it's like you're
Flevin having to balance out your papers there. But on
that note, you can follow us on all the great
social media pages. You two for the fan of work,
TikTok for the fan network, X for the fan, Underscore
on Instagram for the fan football. I have nothing else
(01:03:44):
to say. Do you guys have anything else? Before we
end the show?
Speaker 5 (01:03:47):
Mike Tomlin sucks. Stewart suck. Please fiore him. After this game,
I beg.
Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
If I'm the Jets, I would trade for tom win.
Speaker 5 (01:03:55):
And that's all I hope to God you do.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Okay, I'll be happy with ten and ten and seven seasons.
Speaker 5 (01:04:02):
See that's the difference between me and you. Jets five
hundred happy fans. No playoff wins works for them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
But as always I'm will it's Courtland streak and that's
Don Roop for the fan. Next week five of five,
Here we go, Here we go,
