Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming to you live from a rainforest cafe. We are
for the fan. This is episode number one fifty six.
As always, I am Will and we got Dom, Jake
and Coltland. Gentlemen. Hello, how are you happy?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
League?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
New Year? Are we popping the champagne or what here?
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (00:15):
I mean Jake's popping the champagne. I think everybody else
can kick rocks.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Kick rocks and touch grass. That's we're all gonna be doing,
because all the right to pop all the champagne. It's
been a hot minute since we've been on here, and well,
hey we're back. We're here. You can follow us on
all those platforms down below. YouTube for the fan network,
TikTok for the fan network, Twitter or x however you
want to call it. If it's even up still for
(00:41):
the fan Underscore on Instagram for the fan football uh
fifty three hours after the negotiation period open, a lot
of people now can sign their deals if they are
free agent, trades can finally be finalized. Teams can announce
these trades. The whole shebang, the whole thing. I don't
know what else to say. I don't know if we
want to just jump right into it. I'll just play
(01:03):
the Rainforest Cafe intro again if we want.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
That was new.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I've never I've never been the one, never been the one,
but that's what I expect to be played there. But
without further ado, leadies, gentlemen, you are listening to for
the fan. You are listening to for the fan. And
(01:43):
here we go, uh TikTok, open up and start playing
some Jimmy neutron. So that was pretty funny. There a
lot of stuff went down. We're gonna try breaking it
down as best to our abilities. Hopefully we'll get it
all correctly the first time a ground so agency. We're
gonna view it on two separate sides of the football.
We got offensive defense. We're gonna just you know, dive
(02:05):
in right here. Let's start out with the quarterbacks, where
Friday Night was the first piece the first domino of
thefl Gino Smith got traded to the Raiders. A third
round pick, which was the Jets to go be traded
to a former Jets quarterback to bring him into Las Vegas.
So that new contract they're working on between forty forty
five million dollars. Pete Carroll reunites with his once time backup.
(02:26):
Now he now is there doing his stuff in Las Vegas.
Let's talk about the other former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold,
who finally gets his bag thirty three point three to
three or whatever a million dollars a year. He goes
to Seattle three year deal. If you want, I could
just go down the list and we could talk about
(02:47):
what we like and dislike here. Sure, so we go
from Justin Fields, who went from Pittsburgh to the Jets
two years, forty million dollars with thirty total million guaranteed.
Daniel Jones or as now he's going to be called
Indiana Jones rob the Colts blindly one year, fourteen million
dollars and he gets thirteen point one five guaranteed at signings.
(03:12):
So once he signs the dotted line man, that's that's
guaranteed there. Mark Smaryuyo returns to the Commanders one year,
eight million dollars. Joshua Dobbs past or not goes cross
country from San Francisco to New England two years, eight
million dollars. Zach Wilson returns to the AFC East after
being traded away last offseason for one year and six million.
(03:34):
Jacoby Brissett agreed to a deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
Length and value is unknown at this time. What do
we like and dislike about these quarterbacks? Yep, zero dollars
and zero cents. You get the work for free, big guy.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
There's honestly, not one I like.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
It's just like a bunch of whatever.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Justin Fields, it's about it. The only name on that.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
List, and there's any Slayton tree to it, and it's like,
oh yeah, that could be decent. The rest of them,
I could care less of that. You named a bunch
of backups Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson. Oh joy, wonderful
to watch in Indianapolis. And oh yeah, forgot to mention
the Steelers are starting scholar freaking Thompson at the moment,
(04:23):
and uh yeah, I don't know what to do with myself.
Just draft Jackson Dart the twenty first overall pick, and
then it's just like Kenny pick it all over again.
I get to be all excited, and then I get
to be pissed again, and then.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
The rest is history.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Who the hell cares about any of these guys?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Sam Donald sucks, Justin Field sucks.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
I gotta off there Okay, you're the Steelers are gonna
get the best quarterback. His name's Mason Rudolph. Okay, and
Miles Garrett may Or may not attempt to decapitate his
head once again on a Thursday night game in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
I was only half joking when I sat saying, okay, uh,
Mason Rudolph Steelers QB one, because I don't think they're
signing any of them besides him.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
They're still in the Rogers Street sweepstakes. Russell Wilson, he's
taking visits with Cleveland and the Giants Thursday and Friday.
There's also some other quarterbacks like Trey Lance and Drew Lock,
Joe Flacco, Jamis Winston, mac Jones is available, so there
are some options out there. Carson Wentz, Easton Stick.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Teddy Ellier not really, He's happy.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
There are choices glore out there at quarterback for some teams.
I do need a quarterback? Shall I skip ahead to
the running back position?
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Oh? Another boring market? Please fire away there, Sir William.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Naja Harris, he gets to go to the Los Angeles
Chargers and fun fact, Naje Harris is a career long
of thirty seven yards on a single rush. Jim Harbaughs
is forty two. There you go. He's gonna teach him
how to run, just like how he was a wide
receiver one for Herbert during training camp. One year, five
point twenty five million dollars. Elijah Mitchell, the once backup
(06:10):
for the uh Christian McCaffrey experience there in San Francisco,
goes to the Chiefs one year, three and a half million.
Javonte Williams an interesting move, goes to Dallas one year,
three million. Kenneth Gatewell goes across Pennsylvania, two cities in
the same states as Charlie Day one time. Uh, no
money amount has been seen. And Khalil Herbert just agreed
to a deal with the Indianapolis Colts for one year.
(06:34):
And we also have some other free agents there. Miles
Sanders got released from the Panthers or he Mosters out
on the market. They could see her potential reunion there
in San Francisco. Jamal Williams got cut. Gus Edwards is
out there, Jeff Wilson, Nick Chubb, that's a name that
is out there. Uh.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
JK. Dobbins.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
Yeah, let's say before we keep going, can I gotta
say how what are the Chargers doing un us They're
like committed to draft running back, which I don't think
they're gonna do. Like why bring in Najie Harris when
you could just resign Dobbins who's better.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
And younger and is not younger.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
It's not it's no, I mean, I mean there's the
big elephant in the room that JK. Dollins is always hurt.
So Naji Harris hasn't missed it snap for Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
So that's fair.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I mean cool, those nice two yards of carriers.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Hey, they might run him to be fair with Naji Harris.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Uh, four years in the league, over thousand yards in
every single season, Like oh, I got like the numbers
aren't like amazing, Like it's not his fault.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
He's running behind morons in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Because Jalen Warren is so much.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
It's like, oh, I agree, Jalen Warren hits the but
like the series also design plays better for him. Yet
we're running toss place in Najie Harris, who can't move
like he's between the tackles that you ever thrown him.
Toss plays so like we do it to ourselves with
the guy where Harball's gonna run him the right way,
and the more nause he probably the better it goes
throughout it throughout the game usually gets better. Wait in
(08:06):
the game. So, like I said, I'm not upset. I
thought the series made the right decision letting Naji Heris go.
But I mean a run first team and a guy
that's always healthy. I think that's a good move for
the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I'm excited for Warren season there in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Seers are going to draft a running back too, and
not just rocking them with Gainwell.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And hey, they play the Giants this year. If you
need easy touchdowns, Gainwell he owns them. Don Mara has
fifty one percent of ownership. Gainwell has forty nine.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
That's the wrong one, guy, that's the wrong.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Oh geez, I butchered that one. So let's move on
to a wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
I don't want to watch the Scott, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, Scott, I messed that up.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
There are legitimate running backs left.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
I mean, like there's that are kind of under the radar,
like Kareem Hunt, who like is still good.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I think I think they want to wait till the draft.
A lot of these guys probably aren't going to take
jobs right off the bat.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
There's there's a ton that could go date early day
two that is super valid, Like, besides genty and Hampton,
I think are day Wise or witch On, Judkins, Caleb Johnson,
Trayvon Henderson, uh Rashuel Touton, Bashard.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Smith, Cam Scattiboolunch.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
There's gonna be good like fifth sixth round running backs
that you're gonna see and be like, where'd that guy
go from?
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I'm already having a camp Scatigebou in my watch list
for fantasy football. Oh yeah, go Sun.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Devils currently getting sued. But that's a different point.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
That's a that's a different story for a different day.
Maybe we'll talk about that on the draft. Who knows,
shall I go for it? So let's talk about this.
The Rams wanted to get younger, so they told uh,
Cooper Cup, Hey, we're gonna you know, get younger. We're
gonna release you, try trading you Davante Adams. He goes
to the Rams two years, forty four million dollars. Uh.
(10:00):
He agreed to the deal while he was in Japan
or something like that. He was somewhere in the other hemisphere. Well, no,
other's part of the world, not Hemisphere. Push that one,
and then we have another cross country travel here. Josh
Palmer goes from the Chargers to the Bills three years,
thirty six million dollars. I think that is a really
good deal for him. I think he is an underrated guy.
(10:22):
Darius Slayton stays with the Giants three years, thirty six
million dollars. Diami Brown he heads from the our nation's
capital to Jacksonville one year, ten million.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah, what's the hold on you? Contend you?
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I just.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
My brain hurts watching Jacksonville sign free as and wide
receivers Christian Kirk for eighteen and Diami Brown for ten million.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, some of.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
These agents in Jacksonville.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Christian Kirk broke the wide receiver market back then.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
It's like the Browns.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
The only way they get players is to bribe them
and just shovel money at.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Him, like a million dollars. Yet d hob got five million,
Like what is going on around here?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Then we got DeMarcus Robinson who heads up the coast
to California to San Francisco two years, nine and a
half million dollars. Mac Collins the savior for Mac Jones
wide receiver won two years eight point four million dollars
here heading into New England. Ashton Dollan stays in Indianapolis
two years, six and a half million. Nick Westbrook akeene
(11:32):
forty catches and like eleven touchdowns last year he was
gone a role for whatever reason. He heads the South
Beach two year, six and a half million dollars. Trent
Sherfield he heads from the Vikings two mile high, two
years six million. Cordill Hodges stays in Atlanta two year
six million. Marquez Valdez Scaling heads up into Seattle one
year five and a half. DeAndre Hopkins he heads the
(11:56):
Baltimore one year, five million dollars. Van Jefferson leaves Pittsburgh
to go down to Nashville one year, two and a half.
Braxon Barrios one year just shore of two million dollars.
We also have Justin Watson who's with the Texans. Not
really known what the deal is there. First contract day.
Jones resigns with the Arizona Cardinals. Uh yeah, Dante Pettis
(12:22):
stays with the Saints. D Wayne es Bridge he stays
with the Dolphins. I need to bring this up, Okay.
I think the Ravens are the actual team where veteran
receivers go to die. That it's not the Titans anymore.
It is the.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Baltimore Ravens under Lamore.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
It is as Bryant Deshaun Jackson, obj there was also
another guy there. I'm drawing a blank of who it is,
but now de Hops now that fifth person to fall
into that range.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Sammy Watkins, did you saying it?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I probably even I don't know if it was Blawkins.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
It might have been like twenty six though, I don't know.
There's still a lot of good receivers.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Last man, I love one underrated one I love is
Nick Westbrookina went to Miami. Yeah, like you know, with
that system and what he was able to do with
almost every touch being a touchdown m M Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Like every like he had a touchdown every like three
and a half catches or something was like the most
ridiculous thing. So out there.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
I want to see what he does with you know,
Daniel and that uh you know that offense down there
in Miami.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
I mean, you got Keenan Allen, you got fun Diggs,
you got Cooper Cup, you got Mauri Cooper, you got Brandon.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Imagine talking about this like two years ago, like these
free agents would be like, how are they not signed yet?
This is ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
Tyler Lockett on the Low, Williams, Robert Woods, Agalar, Tyler Boyd,
Zach Pascal Moore. I mean, there's dudes that are gonna
believe land on teams. There's a lot of room left
for dudes to be signed. This makes me curious about
(14:09):
Seattle because they went from having the tree they had
even though Tyler Lockett wasn't doing too much, to Tyler
Lockett currently being a free agent DK going to the
Steelers and so now all they have is what's his
name there? Who's great, fantastic If you're gonna keep one
(14:31):
of them, he was your guy, but like you're gonna
need someone else. So that's I'm interested to see what
Seattle does after departing from.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
The duo that was like the duo for years for them.
So Jackson Smith.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
And Jigba and Jake Bobo. Yeah, okay, the new Cooper Cup,
Sure he's gonna he's gonna do wonders there.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
But there's a lot of dudes left.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yeah, Cooper Cup was just released. They didn't find a
trade partner. The Rams didn't, so he gets released. It's
gonna be interesting where he goes. Obviously, the Packers are
a team to watch, Seahawks, the Patriots, even the Titans
are a team to watch for him. So I say
it's an interesting to see where he ends up going. Obviously,
Diggs is the ACL so they could get him on
(15:20):
a very cheap deal. Uh and Keenan Allen, he says
he either wants to go back to the Bears or
the Chargers. Okay, we'll figure that out as that bridge.
Speaker 7 (15:31):
I mean, guess here, if a team wants a receiver
right now, they have a wide selection to pick from,
so you make your pick. So it whoever people sign
at this moment, they're very purposeful.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
It's who they think is going to fit their team
to leave at this point.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
So it's this is like the time to make a
wide receiver move, even if it's going to be your
third wide receiver. You have the selection, man like it's
I mean juju is even they're still Noah Brown is
out there, Alan Robinson.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
There's just dudes that are just like on the low.
Speaker 7 (16:05):
End as a third or fourth string great decisions, go
for it.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I mean it's it's there. It's for the picking. Rondell Moore.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
The list is huge at the moment, So are going
to make signings soon for receivers. They're going to be
really purposeful and it's who they want. I'm interested to
see that more than anything at the moment.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
UH Taking a look at tight ends. Juwan Johnson returns
to the Saints three years, just short of thirty one
million dollars. Evan Ingram goes to Denver for two years
and twenty three million. Luke Farrell three years, twenty point
twenty five million. The backup for Evan Ingram there in Jacksonville,
and Jacksonville brings in two tight ends, one being Johnny
Munt two years, five and a half million and Hunter
(16:51):
Long two years and five million. Durham Smythe agreed to
a deal with Chicago for one year. Nothing really known
about the money. But we also have Tyler Conklin, Gerald,
Everett Moley Cox as some of the suitors here in
the tight end market.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Do we care, Yeah, there's not too many crazy tight
end ones.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Let's head to tackles here in the free agent market. Here,
Dan Moore from the Steelers to the Titans four years,
eighty two million dollars. The big money guy gets his money.
Jalen Moore heads to the Chiefs two years and thirty
million dollars. Trent Williams' backup there in San Francisco. Morgan
Moses heads the division rival Patriots three years, twenty four million,
(17:36):
James Hudson heads of the Giants two years eleven Cornelius
Lucas from the Commanders to the Browns two years, ten million.
Matt Pert stays with Broncos seven million dollars over two years.
And let's see Josh Jones to Seattle one year, four
point seventy five million dollars. We got Dan Skipper who
(18:00):
stays with the Troy on a one year deal, and
a couple of other ones, so obviously noteworthy people here,
Cam Robinson, Joseph Noteboom, Tyron Smith, Jedrick Wills.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
So are we gonna talk about the Texans in this?
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, let's bring up the trade, the blockbuster trade that
the Texans did on Monday. They acquire a second of fourth,
a seventh, and a third, so twenty twenty six second
and fourth and a twenty twenty five seventh and third
round pick for Laramie Tunsel, and they traded away a
fourth round pick this year to the commanders. Holy hell, uh.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Don't know what they're doing.
Speaker 6 (18:49):
You took the only good things about your worst position
unit and through it in the trash.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
They got rid of four guy Chef Mason was one
of them, Larry Mutunsel, they traded. They traded the guy
at Philadelphia, who will talk about in just a second
here Kenyon Green.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Talk about him.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
So, yeah, there are there are positions like the Texans
are imploding their offensive line. Obviously they know something that
we don't or we know everything that they don't know.
We're still trying to figure that out as we're moving
along here.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
They don't have like they like, and the guy they
brought in is terrible like Lake and Tomlinson is one
the worst tackles to have played this Oh I'm to
have played.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
And that's the guard I guess, yeah, anybody that's the
guard you're bringing to replace Jack Mason and do Or Green.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
They also do have George Fant who was released from
the Seahawks, and they're releasing of last week's players, So
that is an aim to watch as they go along
and send them out to wherever they want to end
up going. So that would be obviously a viable left
tackle or right tackle, whichever way he can go. He
could play both positions, be the blind side or you know,
(20:14):
or Stroud's non blind side. So there's there's that. Uh,
I mean they want me to move on? Yeah, Beck
then is out there. Well we can move on. The
guards here, Will Fries the big money guard here, well,
(20:36):
one of the big money guards. There's two of them.
He goes to the Minnesota Vikings five years, eighty eight
million dollars, big contract there for the Vikings, who are
now the firstifying money out into all these positions we're
gonna end up talking about shortly. Aaron Banks leaves the
forty nine ers with you know, the great migration away
from San Francisco. He goes to Green Bay four years,
(21:00):
seventy seven million dollars. Patrick McCarry goes to the Jaguars
three years, thirty seven and a half million dollars. James
Daniels he goes to Miami three years, twenty four million.
Alex Kappa. He finds himself there in Las Vegas two
years just north of eleven million. Kevin Zeitler. He heads
down to the Titans really trying to solidify the offensive
(21:23):
line there in Nashville one year, nine million dollars. Bradley
Boseman stays in lac two year, six and a half
million dollars, lake In Tomlinson, as you said, Jake one year,
four and a quarter million dollars, Robert Jones, he had
the Dallas one year three three and three quarters a
million dollars. And Brady Christensen season Carolina one year two
(21:47):
point seven eight seven million dollars. And we also have
Blee Kant and Coleman Shelton who agreed the deals. But
we're patiently waiting to find out the numbers of those.
Some of the bigger name guards, brand Cher or if
he was a big ticket item a couple of years
ago for the Jaguar. Shac Mason's also up there. Will
Hernandez's contract expired with the Cardinals. Nate Herbig is there,
(22:08):
Mackai Becton is there, John Feliciano is out there, West
Sweetser is out there. If you're looking for a guard,
and yeah, there's there is a decent amount of people
out there who are probably vying for a new position
or well, new team, I should say, for free agency.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
It's a lot of one year deals, you know.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
The weirdest moves of this free agency period were made
beside some of them. But like the the.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
Bengals don't really have seemed to have a plan, the
Texans don't seem to have a plan. And then on
the flip side, I'll praise the Bears for once, like
they said, we're not letting Caleb get hit so much
or at least in the middle, and lock down the
three interior players.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Yeah, Joe Tooney, he heads to the Bears. A fourth
round pick was exchanged, and then Jonah Jackson, a sixth
round pick was exchanged. Two big moves there. And now
the offensive line seems to be stable enough there in Chicago,
so hopefully not another seventy seven sacks season there for
Caleb and company.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I don't remember who their tackles are or if they
need one.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
They did sign a center though, they got the top
center in free agency. They got Drew Dallman from the
Falcons three years, forty two million dollars.
Speaker 7 (23:39):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
And then Robert Hainsey heads the Jacksonville three years twenty
one million. Robert Kelly goes to the Vikings along with
his teammate Will Fries two years, eighteen million dollars, and
then Danny Pinter resigns with the Colts one year, one
point six six seven five million dollars. Not a lot
(24:00):
of experience here in the Center's market, Daniel Brunskill, Nick Harris,
Dan Feeney, Josh Myers. Not a whole lot of experience.
But it's a very small market there for teams that
are looking for maybe a starter, but more than likely
death positions there for them.
Speaker 7 (24:21):
It's a line. So like whoever you think is gonna fit,
you know, there's not. Teams are gonna make good choices.
Teams are gonna make bad choices. You don't really know
until it happened, you know. I mean, look at Makai
Beckton last year. The Jets like just so lost on him,
and look how that went and now his value so high.
It's either're gonna be good for whoever gets the more
(24:43):
they're not it's just gonna be whatever. It's just a
line always because it's just you get who you can
or who you want. If you're looking for size, you
don't know, you know, every team is a little bit
different with that, and if they think they want it.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
For them, you know, so every schemes different.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
It's just a lot of one year deals on the
guards that I'm kind of surprised about.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
One of your deals for O Lineman, I think is
kind of lack o.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
I think you kept saying one year, and I was like, damn,
Like that's that's kind of new. I feel like for
O Linement, I I feel like all the other years
it was never just.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
You know, like a bridge deal or just like a
rental year or something like that.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
It's a little bit odd to me you.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Could shift away from a bunch of one year deals
and talk about the defensive linemen because they were the
position that hashed in the free agency.
Speaker 7 (25:43):
Tell you what they looking before we get into that.
There's a lot of linebackers still out there, dudes.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
I start one inside or.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Mostly edge.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
But I'm not going to talk about all thirty one
people that's signed here. But let's break down this the Patriots.
The top two people that ended up moving were Milton Williams.
He got the big money this free agency four years,
one hundred and four million dollars. Josh Sweat reunites with
Murr out there in Arizona four years, just north of
seventy six million dollars all together. Jonathan Allen, he cashes
(26:18):
in big with the Vikings three years, fifty one million dollars.
Chase young Cash is big with the Saints three years
fifty one million. I'm not even gonna pronounce this guy's name.
Javon Kinlaw somehow got a three year, forty five million
dollar deal with the Commanders. DeMarcus Lawrence just about an
hour ago signed a big deal with the Seahawks three
(26:39):
years forty two million dollars. Grady Jarrett lands with the
Bears three years, thirty four and a half million. Javon
Hargraves also heads to Minnesota two years, thirty million dollars.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Yeah, I'm not gonna go through all these ones. I
mean there are some big, other big names there. Larry Ogunjobi,
he heads from Pittsburg up into Buffalo, So that is
a yeah, that is a big move there for uh
the Buffalo Bills, And am I is he in here?
He might not be in this one. I don't see him,
(27:15):
But then you got Joey Bosa. It was probably gonna
appear on defensive ends there. But yes, the the big
money ticket this offseason was defensive lineman, and they cashed
in big.
Speaker 7 (27:31):
It's really one of the I mean, it's one of
the highest paid positions for sure for the dudes. Like
the high end of the of the past rush market
is gigantean like enormous.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
And that's why some of them go high in drafts,
high high in drafts.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
You talked earlier Indiana Jones, you.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Know, Indiana Jones.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Flacing the bag. There's one in particular that I have
my eye on right about here.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
Well with Milton Yeah, yeah, dude, I don't know how
as a Patriots fan, I don't know how I feel
about that.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Dude. Listen, he played forty eight percent of the Snaps.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Hey, I mean that was also like Trey Hendrickson, he
played only like forty eight percent of the Snaps and
got his bag when he left New Orleans. Then he
was still you know, he's still killing it.
Speaker 7 (28:20):
Milton was in a really phenomenal position to succeed the
way that he did, and he's now going into a
spot where that it's not going to be that.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
It's a lot do.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
I think Do I like a lot of money? Do
I always like? No? One? Yes, I think that he
would be.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Oh, here we go, Matthew Smith. Here in the comments,
Patriots are having an awful free Agustry. We got all
the we got all the takes here.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
C J.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Stroud's gonna die this year. Chances are that's probably gonna
end up happening. David Carrsack record's gonna get shattered here.
You probably would be a better guard than Lake and Tomlinson.
Mat Rough. I mean if I think Ivon Kinla might
be the worst signing in the past five years. Yeah,
I don't know how he ended up getting fifty million dollars.
(29:04):
He was terrible on the Jets. He was absolutely dog water.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Like.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
The thing about Milton, To get back to what I
was saying, like, he's never John the guy. Not one
time he was brought in specifically.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
On third downs, and even that split time war a
duma who had a.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Better win rate than him, and it was either him
next to Fletcher Cox or then.
Speaker 6 (29:36):
Jalen Carter where he saw a double team in his life.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
I guess he still won't be Christian Barmore, but as
long as he's healthy, I don't there's a lot.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Of question marks.
Speaker 6 (29:48):
You pay that much money for a guy that you
don't expect to take on double teams.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
And the Patriots also traded away Devon Goochow good show.
He went to the Saints for a seventh round selection.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
J Dylon will not be eagle.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Okay, wow, like it, that's pretty how much?
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Damn that say.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Says one year deal does not give a price tag?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Probably nothing, because that's how we roll one.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Oh. It just refreshed on this thing too. That's so wild.
Uh yeah, I'm gonna have to break these all down here.
So let's see so defensive ends. Chauncey Golsten he goes
to the Giants three years, nineteen million dollars. Malcolm Coon
(30:41):
stays with the Raiders for a one year, twelve million
dollar deal. Edward stays in Houston nine and a half million,
two year contract. Derek Barnett stays in Houston for four
million dollars on one year. Peyton Turner. You know, all
the reporters say, if your former first round action goes
to this team, you know you're terrible. And Peyton Turner
(31:03):
he had the Dallas for a one year, three million
dollar contract.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
That's gonna be so fun It's funny because like Philadelphia
in general are already ready to kill that man. And
he just went to the Cowbs. That's gonna be real
interesting next season.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Also, side note, the jokes are already starting because AJ Dillon.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
He didn't he didn't play last season due to a
neck injury, so he did end up missing the entire year.
So I want to see what, you know, what a
year off did to him. And you know, biggest quad
are they are? They are? They gonna have the biggest
quads competition.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
I say, the Quad the Quad show in Philly.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah, time to get on all fours here in Philly.
Here we go. Hey, uh, let's go into the linebacker
spots here. Harold Landry he reunites with Rabel up in
New England three years forty three and a half million
dollars Dre Greenlaw gets himself a decent bag there in
(32:09):
Denver three years thirty five million. Robert Splain heads the
New England three years thirty three million dollars. Michael Hoak
goes to Buffalo three years, twenty one million dollars. Cody
Barton heads the Tennessee three years twenty one million. Patrick
Jones to Carolina two years, twenty million, dollars. My favorite
one on this Listavin Diablo to the Falcons two years,
(32:32):
just a forteen million dollars. Hasan Reddick gets a bag
in Tampa Bay for fourteen million dollars on a single year,
Joey Bosa twelve point six million for one year in Buffalo,
Leonard Floyd ten million dollars. He returns home to Georgia,
and that I yeah, I'm not gonna go through all
(32:52):
these ones, but a lot of available players. Von Miller,
although he's gonna be turning thirty six in just a
couple of days, he's up there. Matthew Judon is also
up there all right right now.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
I find it funny that the team that always complains
how they never have a defensive line or stud edge
rusher is letting one walk and that not signing any
in the Falcons. You know, you finally had a guy.
You're like, one year, we don't really need him anymore.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Even had a good year last year.
Speaker 7 (33:25):
But nonetheless, I don't know, I think judn' is still
very serviceable. He was phenomenal, phenomenal for the Patriots, and
then you know, obviously went to the Falcons.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
I don't I don't know. If he had the best year.
Zadarius Smith is just a dude.
Speaker 6 (33:40):
Every turn though, that team just decides we don't want
you had a chance to be there last season, you
draft a quarterback instead, and now you just have Kirk
Cousins and like as a hostage.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Also Shaq Thompson, Dom's guy. He's out there in free agency.
Eric Kendricks, He's also there. WILLI Gay juniors there.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Josh Isaiah Simmons, who's hey.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Hey, your guy you Dom Anthony Walker Jr. He's available.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Just a bunch of dudes, middle linebackers.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Shack Barrett.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Yeah, is he still like down to play?
Speaker 6 (34:15):
Well, he was about to come back and play for
the this season and then whatever, whatever team it was,
Florida team said no, we're not gonna activate them enough
so you can mmm. Actually whatever it works is they
basically no, screw you as the team.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
For a guys not playing.
Speaker 7 (34:34):
I mean there's a there's there's still guys out there.
This is like the receiver market, there's still guys out there.
People are gonna get assessed, assessed and whatever teams think
they need.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
I think this one's a lot more like running back though,
they're gonna Yeah, guys are trick lowering numbers, and then
there's gonna be kind of a rush after the draft.
Speaker 7 (34:55):
I liked I genuinely liked Isaiah Simmons for the Giants,
like I thought he was one of the very few
players on that team that were better than.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
What the rest of the team was. And he's still young.
He's still twenty six like nicol Oh. Yeah, I don't
know exactly.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
I'm surprised he didn't go, just because out of all
these dudes that are still kind of out there, they're
older and he's the young one.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Nobody's been able to figure out what to do with it.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
That is another part. I'm sure someone's gonna take out
as the project. I can guarantee.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Joe Tryon, he went for the former first round pick
of the Bucks. He's a Brown. Devin Bush stays in
the Browns, Ali and Roberts goes to the Falcons.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
That's actually pretty big though. That try On left, that
was like Todd Bowles is like, yeah, that was his
I don't know to do, so I'll just blitz this guy.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
That's kind of how Shakill Barrett was.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
He's available. Yeah, let's see, I can go to cornerback here.
Let's break this down here. The Giants, they got one
of my favorite guys, Paulsonadevo from the Saints. He got
three years and fifty four million dollars.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Carlton Davis says on here, got three years fifty four million,
but there are reports that he got sixty million. I
wonder what the actual numbers are. So we're gonna see
when those get out here. Tarvarius Ward a lot of
people three let's see, three years, fifty four million dollars.
Paulsonadebo went to the Giants, Carlton Davis went to the Patriots.
Travarius Ward went to the Colts. Bira Murphy stays with
(36:38):
the Vikings. Everyone just signed for the same amount. Nate
Hobbs stays with the Pack four years, forty eight million dollars.
DJ Reid he heads to the Motor City three years,
forty eight million dollars. Brandon Stevens replaces DJ Reid on
the Jets three years, thirty six million. Jordan Lewis he
heads out of Dallas into Jacksonville three years, thirty million dollars.
(37:01):
Christian Fulton he leaves the Chargers, who goes to the
Chiefs for twenty million dollars and a two year deal.
Mike you stays in Atlanta three years, eighteen million dollars.
Michael Jackson he went, stays with the Panthers two years,
fourteen and a half million dollars. Dante Jackson he heads
to the Chargers. Isaiah Rodgers he goes from the Eagles
(37:24):
up to the Vikings. Darius Slay makes the cross country
trip with Gainwell to the Pittsburgh Steelers. H Yeah, Michael
Ford he gets a two year deal with the Falcons,
and Yeah. Eccles he goes to the Steelers. Isaiah Oliver
stays with the Jets. Jonathan Jones he goes to the Commanders.
(37:46):
Eric Stokes. He goes from the Packers to the Raiders
and some of the big name cornerbacks available. Jeff Acuda,
Kendall Fuller, Stefan Gilmour. How much does he have left
in the tank? James Bradberry, how much does he have
left in the tank? Russell Douglas is there, Mike Hilton, CJ. Henderson,
uh Shaquill Griffin is also there, Trey White, Ronald Darby
(38:09):
to name some of these guys, but.
Speaker 7 (38:12):
Yeah, dude, I don't know other than like Akuda and
that's a big maybe. And then maybe Gilmore as the
one year deal thing that he does and plays solid
but not spectacular just like whatever. Other than like a
couple of these dudes, there's really notch of a cornerback market.
Just a bunch of guys that are just going to
(38:33):
be deep in a lineup, like like Jalen Mills and
like maybe Cameron Sutton.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I'm just will feel because he lost a good one.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Uh, dj Reed did not want to come back to
the Jets. I can promise you that he was not.
He was not going to deal with that stuff. I mean,
I think you would have ended up. I thought he
would have liked, you know, Wilkes and h Glenn there
on the defensive side of the ball. But Brandon Stevens,
as the Ravens called him, he's a flag merchant. So
that's that. So I'm pretty excited for us some penalties
(39:08):
this coming season.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
Flag merchants is a wild man.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Just like Shy Shy whatever on the Thunder. He's a
free throw merchant. He you know, Yeah, that's a debate
for a different day.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
I just hold holding penalties incoming.
Speaker 7 (39:27):
Yeah, I mean, like I don't know, I love Carlton
David the Patriots apparently.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Apparently I was just reading.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Christian Gonzales is super psyched about it, like you.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Get a good complimentary two for him. Yeah, so hey,
one of them is gonna be Mac Jones' favorite target
in preseason.
Speaker 7 (39:49):
But it just I don't know. This market's not there's
not much going on in this market. I'm sure we'll
see names off this board whatever, but no one. It's
not like anyone needs to go get a number one
and they're not.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Sante Samuel Junior is on there still, that's crazy.
Speaker 7 (40:04):
It's just whatever teams are gonna grab names, they're gonna
be dudes that are on the field, and that's it.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I don't know. I don't think it's too too crazy.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
Rock your Sin's on there too, that's one of Dom's
like great Madden players.
Speaker 7 (40:21):
Yes, there's like yeah, it's just a bunch of threes
or whatever, threes and depth and the cool like cornerback.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Twos that are on here. And that's it. I don't know,
interesting market.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Let's head to the Safeties altogether. Uh Cameron bying them.
He leaves with his Cordio graphic dances. He has to
the Colts four year, sixty million dollars. Trayvon Mowrigg. He
goes to Carolina three years, fifty one million. Javon Holland
he catches him big with the three years fifty three
(41:02):
fifty forty five point three million dollars. Holy Hell Talanoa Hufunga.
He goes to the Broncos three years forty five million,
justin reed. Somehow the Saints found money and we're able
to pay him just north of ten million dollars a
year over three years. Eric Murray he leaves, He goes
(41:22):
actually in the division. He stays in the division. He
goes to the Jaguars three years, nineteen and a half million.
Jeremy Chin leaves the Commanders. He goes to Las Vegas
two years, sixteen million dollars. Andre Cisco he goes to
the Jets for ten million dollars on a single year.
Xavier Woods two years, ten million dollars. Yeah, DeMar Hamlin reees, signs,
(41:45):
Jason Panack, he goes to the forty nine ers. Let's see,
Elijah Campbell stays with the Dolphins. They pick up Ashon Javis.
The Dolphins do, and that's really it there for the
safeties market. Justin Simmons is availed, Juan Thornhill is available,
Marcus Epps. Would you want him to return to the Eagles?
Speaker 4 (42:06):
No?
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Not Kick Rocks. And we also have the one trade
two C J. Gardner Johnson he got traded for Kenyon
Green and a player player trade plus mid round pick
swap there in twenty twenty six. We also did not
mention ker Elam he goes to Dallas from the Buffalo.
(42:28):
Bill's two late round picks go to Buffalo, and then
Kenneth Murray got traded to Dallas for a six roup
pick this year.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
Did you mention this is something that happened, right Jeremy Chin.
Didn't he go to the Raiders?
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Yeah, I just mentioned, Oh you did, Okay, Yes?
Speaker 1 (42:50):
I do like the Justin remove he matches there with
Tyra Matthew. I don't even know if they even had
lined up at the same time there when Matthew was
in a Kansas city, but it'd be interesting if they did.
So that Chiefs defense is slowly becoming a Saints defense,
so that's something to look at there. Also, Raven scheme
(43:13):
is far different than the Jets scheme. That is true.
I gotta see what the what they're actually doing there
in New York before quickly judging there. But yeah, that's
it for the Safeties. And there's really no other positions
to talk about unless we want to do kickers. But
no kickers are signed, No punters are signed. I'm sorry.
(43:34):
There are punters, okay. Riley Dixon Tampa Bay, San Martin
to the Carolina Panthers, Johnny Hacker goes to the Titans,
Brian Anger stays with the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
I'm just the more I'm just not just clicking through
and screwing around.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
What are the banks.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
Doing screwing themselves?
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Right? Just none?
Speaker 6 (44:00):
Well, they have dons like no, they have like the forteen,
A couple of guys they I know they coached or
in book burks from us.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
They got they were signed Bj Hill.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
It's it's not gonna you know, I mean, they got
rid of Alex Kappa.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Finally they're I don't know, I'm just you don't alas even.
Speaker 6 (44:23):
Good players get wasted as dominos from hockey and just
like and again, like Joe Burrow kind of did this
himself with his contract, but geez, you got it.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
You can go out and sign these contracts.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Mm hm.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
They in the time that since in the time that
it's cost.
Speaker 6 (44:44):
From the two quarterback signings, there's one fifty million dollar
number just like the benchmarks they used.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
The signed one signed eight like, so can be done.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Cowboys haven't sent the guy over like eight million dollars
in fre age seasons, Greg Hardy like ten years ago.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Don't look where they are and they have got worse.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Yeah, m hm.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Like I get that we kind of do things differently
money wise.
Speaker 6 (45:23):
We don't really pay in freight and see me, but.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
At some point you gotta give. If you give Joe
Burrow any help, you'll win. You were almost a playoff
team with that bum defense and bumbo line, and you
made a super Bowl with that bumo line.
Speaker 6 (45:42):
And just a mediocre defense. So like, geez, just little things.
It's all takes.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
Sure.
Speaker 7 (45:53):
I'm looking at some of these what Fox for saying
winners and losers. I certainly think you know, the Bears
did a lot of what they probably wanted to accomplish.
Don't mind that. I will see how the Patriots pays off,
(46:13):
because that's an avariable thing.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
I like, did not over.
Speaker 7 (46:19):
I think they accomplished what they really genuinely kind of
would like to have pomblished.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
So like, I'll give them that. That's pretty solid.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
I mean, the Broncos didn't do too much, but I
actually don't mind what they've done. They have the colts
on here as a winner, which I don't know how
much I can stand behind that.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
They did get a good couple pieces though, and you
know Travarious Ward buying them. They replenished a secondary that
was really depleted by like weak sex.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Maybe on that side of the ball, I can stand
behind that.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
But they also were They also were pretty big losers
because they ended up losing you know, their center and
their best guard.
Speaker 7 (47:03):
Well, Quentin Nelson is alive, Yeah, but he didn't have
a good did not have a He.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
Was a little pro over Lennon Dickerson.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
So that's kind of crazy.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
But this brings me to this question here, because I
do have a couple of questions here. Set up who
is your winner? Who's your top winner? It could be
player or a team in free agency.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
I can't say the Vikings because you don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
Yeah, and none of it matters.
Speaker 6 (47:28):
That's super valid, but I would like to say them
as far as I haven't dug that deep into who didn't.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
I think the Commanders did an okay job.
Speaker 7 (47:43):
They don't have the commanders on here as it's a
lot of money and money out.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
Yeah, but you know, getting Tunsil's big Apparently he had
a lot of holding penalties a season.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
All so Ronnie Stanley had a ton of.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Uh yeah, legal formation.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Yeah, so you.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
Know I got only when you play the Chiefs though.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Flave Merchant, h.
Speaker 7 (48:09):
I don't I don't know to be honest as far
as like if I don't know if I could just
assign a clear winner to anyone or your teams.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
I'm confused in what the Rams are doing a little.
Speaker 6 (48:23):
Bit because you said you wanted to get younger and yeah,
shed money, yet you.
Speaker 3 (48:29):
On multiple receivers.
Speaker 6 (48:35):
You lost Marcus Robinson but brought in Devonte Adams, lost
Cooper Cup.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
You're gonna just say, I don't want Cooper Cup anymore.
Speaker 1 (48:43):
I don't want to play with you anymore.
Speaker 6 (48:46):
You say you want to like and then you still
go out and get Jimmy like you clearly want to
Jimmy G.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
Yardless. So why did you sign Stafford?
Speaker 2 (48:56):
I don't really think anything changed the game for the Rams.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
I think they'll they tried to really establish on the
offensive side of the ball. They want to just see, hey,
we were a fourth down away, maybe you know, playing
the overtime Philadelphia, maybe being in the Eagles. They're there.
They're there as a competitor in the NFC right now.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
The Snow made it so that that game was close.
They If you think that they were really that close,
you're fooling yourselves. We played them earlier in the season
and dog walkd them.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
I just I don't know the Rams.
Speaker 7 (49:40):
I think it's like nothing's going to change from last
year to this year. It's just going to be like whatever, same.
I don't think the big deal, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
I do.
Speaker 7 (49:50):
I mean, honestly, what the Ravens did wasn't so bad.
They're not on this list of winners at Fox Sports,
but on here.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
I'm kind of surprised Justin Fields is a winner. He
he got his little bag.
Speaker 7 (50:03):
I don't mind what the Ravens did. I'm not, again,
not my clear.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Winner or anything.
Speaker 7 (50:07):
I really don't know if you could just designate a
clear winner. You know, this wasn't an off season where
it was just like game changers, like it's.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
Not like every off season where it's like this guy
goes here in your jaws on the floor. There also
hasn't been any free agent moves. At like three in
the morning when I wake up and I'm a little
sad over.
Speaker 6 (50:25):
That Wednesday, the league year started today. The off season
is literally one day old.
Speaker 7 (50:31):
It's not over, that's true, But seeing the names on
the list, it's not like, you know, it's not incredible.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (50:37):
I don't know how many other Eagles fans listen to this,
but we do this every year. How he's quiet the
first week of the seeon first week besides leak one
to one last year and we all freak.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
Out, like what is he doing?
Speaker 6 (50:52):
June he has a couple of sneaky pickups in the draft,
and then training camp opens and he goes out and
takes somebody's garbage that becomes good for us two years ago.
The team isn't finished. H Okay, I'm not happy with the.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
Place.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
See yeah, j Matt chimed in here. It's over.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
You're cooked, cooked, You're cooked, totally cooked.
Speaker 7 (51:24):
I think this is such a it's great evident. This
is such a draft heavy off season, Like there's a
lot of reliance on the draft. There's a lot of
thinking towards the draft. I mean, there's a lot of
picks that have I have on in a lot of directions,
not just in the off season, but just in general.
(51:44):
I don't know, again, not like gigantic splashes, I feel.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
Like I but I do like the moves the Broncos made,
I really do. I like the Hufonga move. I like
the Drake green Law move. If they're healthy, then there's
going to be really good you know, no, really good
value for what they signed those guys too. You gotta ask.
Speaker 7 (52:09):
This this off season and like you said, the Broncos
like again, solid moves, but it's just like it's filling
out the roster with better talent, not like, let me
get this big splash and like change the.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
I don't even think they can make the big splash.
They're still paying Russell Wilson a bunch of money too.
Speaker 7 (52:29):
I'm saying I don't think any team's made a big
splash necessarily.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
You know, it's like, I.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Don't know this. This free agency class was just like nah,
I've remember previous years for my jaws on the floor.
Speaker 3 (52:40):
There were so many overpays because of that.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Yeah, it's true. Yeah, it's interesting.
Speaker 7 (52:45):
The Patriots thing is interesting because it's something that we've
never really seen the Patriots do, just because it's just
never been the way and even when it was slightly ness.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
It never really was crazy like that, you know.
Speaker 7 (52:58):
So it's like this is a getting some of the
most we've seen the Patriots ever doing an offseason.
Speaker 2 (53:05):
In a while. So, you know, okay, I don't know,
you know, the.
Speaker 7 (53:10):
Bears bolstered up a little bit cool, it's you know,
it's a lot of filling out rosters and proving talent.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
That is what it is. I think there's definitely losers, But.
Speaker 1 (53:22):
Let's talk about it. Who's the biggest loser here? I
have to say the forty nine ers. Man, Like, they
released a lot of people and that was just like
one after the other, and they all got posted instantly.
Once four o'clock hit today, like three of them instantly
signed the deals. Like it was just like hey, out
(53:43):
of there.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
Because they're big money. Things finally came home.
Speaker 7 (53:47):
Yeah, when you talk about like end of an era
kind of stuff, it's the Niners right now, end of
an era, end of all that team that was together
doing the suit Fava Bowl things and and all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Uh, wide receiver one.
Speaker 6 (54:06):
And they didn't didn't. I was convinced that you guys
were gonna go for sweat not knowing.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
I mean there's still times that receivers are on the market.
We'll see. I don't know, but.
Speaker 7 (54:19):
I think the Niners, like that's the biggest change in
the whole free agency market. The biggest change, good or bad,
I think is the Niners and an era like that.
Speaker 2 (54:28):
It's truly just the team we will see on the
field this.
Speaker 7 (54:32):
Year is not going to be the Niners team that
we've been seeing that we know of that's pretty outspoken,
that's been to the Bowl, you know, it's it's uh,
it's the biggest change generally on the teams.
Speaker 8 (54:49):
That have big holes and just stand had So it's
every time the well what are they gonna do? They
aren't going to out spend anybody. The Packers every year
do this. Thank you, cool O.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
Lineman. Really wasn't your issue, like you have a comedy
of receivers. There were plenty of guys that you could
have at least aggressive for, like T Higgins didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
Again, there's the receiver market. I'm not too.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
They over put, they put. They gave Godwin like twenty
million dollars over what the Buccaneers gave him.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
That's funny.
Speaker 1 (55:34):
I don't think anyone wants to pay the tax that
Massachusetts has. I don't know if NFL players got to
pay taxes.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
He's saying Packers, Oh, the Patriots.
Speaker 6 (55:43):
Gently, the Patriots are just the sec of hypothetical and again.
Speaker 1 (55:49):
Sounds like the Jets to me.
Speaker 7 (55:53):
Then there then there's Seattle lost the d amount. We'll see,
you know, that could go either way. There's the Texans,
which Jake said before, like I'm not I don't ye.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
I don't know what you're doing. You're like leaning into
losing for some reason.
Speaker 6 (56:12):
I don't know how many draft picks they have, but
it's definitely not enough first round picks to make this
O line competitive mm hmm this season.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
And if you're this is your window, you have c. J.
Stroud on a rookie deal, you should be spending all
of the money, not giving away some of your best players.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
I agree. I don't know. And then they lost dudes
in free agency too.
Speaker 7 (56:38):
It's not even like they're just given away like in
the trades that they made but they legitimately lost some
dude in free agency as well, don't I don't know
what starters they lost, digs, they lost some of the defense.
Speaker 3 (56:52):
I don't think they haven't lost signed well.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
I mean it's valid, but I don't know.
Speaker 9 (56:58):
It's kind of just like their guys. They pertained almost
all of them. It's just that they almost half their line.
Speaker 7 (57:12):
Yeah, I mean, but their line wasn't that good, but
still you couldn't afford to it.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
I think it's a it's a harsh some harsh decisions
maybe based on just a kind of slump here.
Speaker 7 (57:29):
None of us expected them to also happen next year,
So I don't I don't know.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
It's true.
Speaker 1 (57:37):
And here you guys want to go to this one here?
Buy selling hold, I mean bring it back. I like
to bring it back, bring it back. Here we go,
let's fix some wording there. Here we go buy selling hold. Guys.
Uh yeah, A lot of places we could go on
(58:00):
this one, but hey, where do we want to go
for a BUYE?
Speaker 3 (58:05):
I think the clear Yeah, I'm not gonna go first, man.
Speaker 7 (58:10):
I I okay, So I really do kind of want
to buy the Vikings other than the fact that I
what the heck their quarterback play could possibly be this year.
Like they've made some great moves actually on the lines,
I mean Jonathan Allen, Javon Hargrave. I mean, then you
have the lineman, and then they kept they decisively kept
(58:36):
Aaron Jones, right.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Yep, they signed him to two year, twenty million dollar deal.
Speaker 7 (58:41):
So like, they clearly have the they clearly have the
path they want to go on, and like, I get that, but.
Speaker 6 (58:50):
The only buy I think that the actual buy and
hold from one day is Denver.
Speaker 3 (58:57):
I agree, they're leading into the defense its aspect and
didn't really anything like I think that they're the only
to me a clear by.
Speaker 7 (59:14):
It's hard to buy a team right now because again,
no big splashes, no game changing stuff. I mean, it's
all just kind of like, okay, all right, they did
what they probably should have done.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
We'll see how.
Speaker 7 (59:27):
The season goes. I mean, that's how it is for
the Vikings, I think because of the quarterback. That's how
it is for.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
Denver. Like, all right, well they do it again, but
just with some better players.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Yet by the Jets, what doy Jonathon sucks actually really funny?
Speaker 2 (59:49):
I don't know, man, Oh, the Jags are a loser too.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
Oh the Jets released CJ. Moseley. I didn't even know
he was still in their contract.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
That was kind of funny, man. I yeah, I don't
know who to buy, dude, I really don't know who
to buy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
I'm gonna just branch of what you did, Jake. I'm
just gonna buy in the Denver defense.
Speaker 6 (01:00:18):
Yeah, good things like I think they're the only ones
that were just like across the board, addressing some issues
without going crazy and putting like that one piece in
the puzzle in the short time that we've already done.
See what they do in the draft. I guess we'll
do one of these the end of the when the
(01:00:38):
off season or when.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
We do these the day before the draft?
Speaker 7 (01:00:43):
Well mean yeah Thursday, Wednesday, Thursday?
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Yeah, what about Sells? Who do we want to sell on? Here?
Can I go first?
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
Can I just say something real quick?
Speaker 7 (01:00:56):
What CBS has an article of their their winners in
the and they're all teams, and then for one of
the winners, they have Jones.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
He is the biggest winner, absolutely the big winner.
Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
It's so funny. Uh yeah, go Will.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Sells. I want to sell off on uh crap, the Niners.
I want to sell off on them. I think it
might be the end of the ship there for San
fran And I want to sell off on X. I
gotta sell it off five times because it literally was
not working five times on Monday, and I think it
ruined freegency for everyone. So I'm gonna sell off five.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
X's hacked by Ukraine. Dammit?
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
Did the NFL break Twitter? Or did well? Usually Twitter
breaks the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
Well, Elon broke Twitter, But yeah, I you know, being
able to have to watch network and wait for news
to actually drop was an interesting twist here in twenty
twenty five. Unfortunately, my space didn't really have the news there,
so you couldn't really pick up, you know, from platform
to try finding anything.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Did you check? Are you sure? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
It's a dead platform, so I should have I should
have went. I should have went the threads.
Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
I checked out there for a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
You should have went the threads is kind of nuts,
to be honest.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
I should have checked out threads. You know, I could
have kept up with my news there.
Speaker 6 (01:02:19):
But yes, forty nine ers and Tom has always got
your back. No, I'm saying the Packers lose because every
year you stand pat and the division is getting better.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
That's kind of true.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
You're too busy trying to ban the push push bums.
Speaker 7 (01:02:37):
I mean, I have to sell the Niners. I think
gonna be a bottom team for a while, and I
think it's gonna be even to Kyle us Check is
kind of nuts.
Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
That was the big sign it's over.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
It's over.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
Anthony came in here and says I hate being a
Cowboys fan, and that reminds me. I got my third cell,
which is the Elam trade that Dallas did. I don't
know why they picked up the worst cornerback in NFL
history in a trade like that wasn't even worth it.
Speaker 6 (01:03:11):
I just.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:03:15):
It's funny that the Niners gave up the year after
they like signed, after the whole Ayuk thing. They signed him,
and then it's like, oh, actually, Brandon Aiyuk, it's over.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
You got in.
Speaker 7 (01:03:31):
You're just stuck here now, Like this is it. I
guarantee you does not play on that team for two
more years.
Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
It's gonna be an issue.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Hey, they do still have a really good three cord
there are Yuk, Jennings and Piersaw.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:03:50):
Christ McCaffrey is still there, so that's cool, and they
still have an O line. Yeah, I guess, but like,
what were they known for. They were known for that
defense being git and they lost.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
And hey listen when when Sala was there during COVID
and everyone else blew out their acl or tore you know,
their triceps and biceps. He brought all these like second
stringers and still made a top five defense. So yeah,
I have a lot of faith in Salad. Still, I
think you can still get the ship going right for
San Francisco, but obviously losing out on fifteen pieces of
(01:04:22):
the team, you know, everyone going their separate ways. So hey, guy,
I you know, just got to see what they do
for the rest of fregency, which guys are going to
bring in on a low dollar salary, and uh, the draft.
Speaker 7 (01:04:38):
I gotta sell out on the freaking Colts too, dude.
I don't know why. I can't why everyone has them
as a winner that from mat which I don't understand
even it's just.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
The defense man you got buying them. You got Travarious Ward.
Like their secondary at one point last year had four
active cornerbacks. It was terrible. Yeah, yeah, four active corners
and three reactive safeties. Now you at least bring in
viable starters to where you can push some of those
guys into the depth pieces. I think it's I think
it's a win. The Colts defense was a winner. Daniel
(01:05:12):
Jones was the robber of free agency.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
But what's their offense.
Speaker 7 (01:05:16):
It's cool that their defense might be good, But what
it's gonna be when like it's gonna be like every
other week, are we going to see the other quarterback?
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
And then that's good? They're gonna spend this whole season.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
I can't wait. I can't wait for a Reid option
play Anthony Richardson fakes a hand off to Daniel Jones.
It's gonna be like the Jets offense with Tebow with
special packages. I am so amped for this. I am
so amped.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
I don't know Zach pass team anymore that they make
I think they did right. They're just it's just offense
is the same thing.
Speaker 6 (01:05:46):
No, they're just cooked because they decided they want to
get the fun pick in Richardson. So they're gonna be
cooked until they decide that this is not like until
they move away.
Speaker 7 (01:05:55):
I feel like there's still so much to figure out
for them on offense they don't have an Nythy. It's
just like here we go the third season of trying
this out. But and then our backup is the guy
that's like was being tried out for seven years on
this other team and not one time did it really work.
Speaker 6 (01:06:13):
Most but Richardson is so they're gonna find out like, oh,
it's just the eary breaks out, the breaks out.
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Uh yeah, it literally could be there, just that I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
And what about holds? My hold is a lack of
wow power of this freegency. Obviously there were some trades,
but other than that, like you know, you wake up
the middle of night, you check your phone. I'm used
to seeing at least a freed and signing or two
at like three in the morning. Nothing this year doing
very lackluster old guys.
Speaker 3 (01:06:44):
So yeah, literally didn't expect this.
Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
Yeah, I mean my holds.
Speaker 7 (01:06:51):
Are the teams like the Bear, all right, you did
what you needed to do, but you were bad.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Are you going to get that much better?
Speaker 7 (01:07:00):
Or the triots the Vrabel came in and I trust
him and he if he's doing what he likes to
do and wants to do. Cool, We were bad? Are
we going to be legitimately better because of it. Like
it's it's all those fringe teams that were bad. Did
some of the right things that they think are the
(01:07:23):
right things?
Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Will that pan out? That's that's like this whole free
agency in a nutshell.
Speaker 7 (01:07:28):
I think honestly, the teams did the team what the
Bengals should have done and didn't do of the All Right,
here's our issues.
Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
Let's get some of these guys and fix it.
Speaker 7 (01:07:45):
But you know, as fans and as anyone will out
only time with hell, obviously we'll see next season, but
there's a lot of just that this season, and that's
just kind of what it is. I don't know, that's
that's where I'm at. Patriots, Bears, we'll see Eagles.
Speaker 6 (01:08:09):
Yeah, the only going to the streagen see the only
player you absolutely sign was Yeah, that was it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Did they resign them?
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
I don't care what they do.
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
They're never players in freedom, so they don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:08:24):
They draft everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:08:30):
At the corner, drafted another defensive end, get a safety.
Speaker 7 (01:08:36):
Fine, Well that's really not there other than some receivers
as depth and some of these like other kind of linebackers.
Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
But even then, so.
Speaker 7 (01:08:44):
That's just kind of I think just where we're at
at this point.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
Draft draft is the future.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Yeah, the draft is the future and that will be
our next show. So, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for
tuning in. You can find us on all the great platforms.
YouTube for the fan network, tick Talk for the fan network,
X for the fan Underscore, and Instagram for the fan football.
Uh yeah, I got nothing else, you guys got anything?
Speaker 6 (01:09:09):
No said nothing, but just setting up for what the
draft is like. I think it's it's a better have
people say there's no like good player, elite player besides
the tool carter.
Speaker 1 (01:09:22):
But like you're gonna, oh no, abdual, why do you
have the gas mask out? You're gonna fall to thirty two?
Speaker 6 (01:09:27):
Oh no, But you're gonna find like day one starters
up until like the third round.
Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
It gets gonna be good for a lot of people.
Speaker 7 (01:09:36):
And that then that means there's gonna be dudes that
just nically stand out.
Speaker 6 (01:09:40):
And there's a ton I know, defensive tackles like d
line and trench guys.
Speaker 3 (01:09:48):
It's on the running backs too.
Speaker 7 (01:09:51):
It's it's everyone is this is really super focused on
the draft season. It's it's kind of not It's like
for agency wasn't even really exciting. Honestly, I didn't even
see that many posts about it like anything special. It's
kind of just like boom like sites on the draft.
I think that's kind of just what it is, what
(01:10:12):
everyone's excited for. There's a lot of questions to be answered.
Speaker 6 (01:10:16):
Wore is elite at quitting on his team midway through
the pop Tar Bolt, that's what.
Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
He's a lead at.
Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
I don't remember that. I don't remember Cam Wore quddit.
Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
Watch you were intent on that game.
Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
Different, I was too intently trying to focus on my
fantasy championship there.
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
True, Uh, he'll be a bust, but yes, check us
out next time. We'll be live at for the draft.
And then we also got the March bad Inness bracket,
which I'll be posting on a various social media platform.
So yes we have that. So yeah, everyone tune in,
have a great day, and go Team, Go, Team Go
