We got twenty four more teams to go twenty four,
which is obviously needed to ban the Tush Push, and
the only twenty two teams voted to ban it, so
we get another year of the Tush Push year, which
makes sense because we're talking about the NFC East today. Uh, Jake,
how do you feel about paying the wheel off a
couple of Benjamin Franklin's to not have to wait that long?

Speaker 4 (00:35):
It was threatened with some spent shoes. Didn't want to
smoke this year.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I heard there was a ben Franklin or two on
this wheel that you offered it just to make sure
landed on East. And we're not talking about Weast here,
We're talking about East.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
He was actually getting a little jealous because they were
only doing the rest of our teams. So we all
decided to switch it up this year. And we don't
even get we don't even get to August and we've
done all of our teams are so that's pretty remarkable.
That's never happened.

Yeah, we don't have to wait until the season is
about to start.

Yeah, we should go and get a magic conch and
ask it what team.

Yeah, it would be kind of cool. I could probably

But yeah, all the teams have reported the training camp.

The final two teams today reported, which were the Pittsburgh
Steelers and the Atlanta Falcons. So all thirty two teams
have reported for camp. Very exciting times. Let's get into this.

As always, we start with the worst team and we
work our way to the division winner. So how else
would we start this episode? But the armpit of America
called MetLife Stadium, the Graveyard, whatever you want to name it.
Here the New York Giants, where a year ago, Daniel
Jones coming off an ecl injury. A lot of questions
going around the Giants didn't keep Saquon Barkley. He made

a trip down nine ninety five to sign with the Eagles,
and I guess he had an okay season down there.
But Daniel Jones, he didn't really live up to the expectations.
They end up releasing him. They go through the quarterback
gridlock of Tommy Cutlet's ban I don't even know Tim Boyle,
I think was also there for a hot second Drew
Lock to a whole lot of ups and downs there

for the Giants last season, and maybe they could turn
the tides with a new quarterback room that they've acquired
and affected, and I don't know, maybe no more of
this garbage. I'm so tired of this shit, so tired
of it.

So let's go into the offense.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So the offense here a whole revamped quarterback room. They
go from man Daniel Jones, Drew Locke, Tommy Cutlets. I
think Tim Boyle was honestly there. I might be a
dreaming or something. But they go to Russell Wilson, who
had success with the Steelers last year. Jamis Winston, who
put up a hell of a game Monday night against
the Broncos when he was on the Browns and they

draft Jackson Dart.

Who quarterback in the future.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
We will figure that out. We are going to see
how that goes. But for the offense in general, a
whole lot of it's the same the ad camp scat
about at running back. They do draft Marcus bows in
the fifth round, and they also bring in James Hudson
on the offensive front. So a lot is the same

here for the Giants, except the quarterbom where they've already
come out and they've already said Russell Wilson is gonna
be our Week one starter. Obviously it's a quarterback battle,
but right now, Russell Wilson's our starter. Gentlemen, how are
we feeling about this revamped Giants team that's trying to
return to the playoffs for the first time since twenty
twenty two?

Are we considering this revamped.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Well, if quarterback room, I mean, anything's better than Daniel Jones,
So I say, yes, it's a revamped offense.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
I mean, all right, listen, Russell, do you think from.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
A one touchdown and eleven interception college quarterback in Tim
Boyle is better than anything that they've had? So I
consider this really revamped.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Russell Wilson played well last year. I don't think we
can really discount that the Russell Old.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
It looked like the Russell Old in some parts. He
put up some pretty good games, and then obviously the
nine win hit for the Steelers, ten win hit for
the Steelers, and you know, everyone just crashes down the earth.
Whatever's going on over there?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
You know, this is actually very alike a team we
talked about last week, which I genuinely I can't remember.
Oh is it? Okay? Is it the Jets? Yeah? I
think it was the Jets. Where this is I mean,
same stadium, same place. What else is new?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
If your color? If your color blind, I mean they're
both gray.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
So yeah, okay, where.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
This is like clearly set up as a bridge year
thing into a hopefully future thing. I said this about
the Jets. They've had a successful running game set up
with the same group. I can say that with the
Giants as well. I liked Tyrone Tracy a lot last year.

I think if they could, just like I said about
the Jets, if they could establish a kind of locked
in running game with this group and then figure out
what the hell you're gonna do at Passer and if
it will even work for the future.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Cool, I guess.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I mean it's really essentially the same conversation I think
I had about the Jets. We're just talking about some
different personnel, and.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Except they signed two quarterbacks and then drafted one.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah. So but you know, these are two quarterbacks that
are a little bit over the hill, that are temporary
solutions to a permanent problem. And you're hoping the permanent
solution is the third guy on this chart to the
permanent problem.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
And I don't know, So why do you see if
you think you're undrafted quarterback, which I guess they weren't
really sick because they traded up later to get him. Yeah,
but what is the point of Russell Wilson's starting games?
If you have Jackson Dark waiting there?

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Like, it's not like not.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
To rush him, I would say, I mean, look at
some of the other quarterbacks. They kind of throw him
out to the Wolves and they kind of just like,
you know, say good luck, little wave.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Give him a guy that you can like actually have
a camp battle with, not a guy who has won
a Super Bowl, had a decent season last year. It's
made a bunch of money.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I think it's also too like you have to have
your job. You have to protect your job. So having
Russell Wilson, who can win games, maybe protect you shown
and dable for at least another year, preserve it for
another year.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Joe Shane bought himself time with with dirt just drafting
them period.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
That's the only reason the.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Bears buy every the Bears, you know, they buy time
with drafting quarterbacks and you get fire and even before
the end of their rookie season. I mean like that's
potato potato here.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Like they're going to take a quarterback regardless so that
he can say, well, listen, look we got to give
the kid time. Can't fire me yet?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Look how many planes can fly over ahead during warmups
for you to make it through the season. You know,
it's like, well there.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
How many high knees can you go through? With Russell
Wilson and talking about a spicy sandwich, it's spicy.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
You know, there's not gonna be many plane rides. You've
got a lot of a couple of buss in there,
you know, might not.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Be able to do the same.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
And they would they take a train or a bus
down the DC or would they fly just so it's a.

That would be a bus.

That definitely a bus.

Eagles definitely bus. I mean they probably take a train to.

Dallas, who knows.

But also one thing to point out to Evan Neil
listed as guard. So that's also one other thing we
got to look out for here. Okay, So I'm just
saying he's not obviously the starter Greg Van Rotten who
came in last year from the Raiders. So yeah, a
big puzzle piece there for the fifth former fifth overall

pick or seventh overall pick, fifth seventh, something like that
in the draft. I don't know, very high draft pick
and not expectation, no expectations living up.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
From Yeah, I don't know. There is a there's a
factor of bridge year setting up for a future thing
and it looks possible maybe, but there is the factor
these dudes had this offseason to save their job for
at least just another year. So there's definitely some overlapping

of the two things for sure.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Let's shift over to the defense, and the defense really
improved a lot last year. So drafting a dual quarter
number three overall, you bring in the best free agent
safety on the market, Javon Hall, and you get bring
in a corner who I think was one of the
most more highly underrated corners on the market, a pulse
and a debo from the Saints, already matching up with
already a pretty stacked front seven. Now the secondary has

a little more consistency going on with at least someone
to be on the complimentary side of Dante Banks. Where
adri Jackson he left, he went down to the Eagles.
That's really all I got for this team. But really,
I think this is a really good defense. It's gonna
finish probably second in the division. It's not gonna finish first, obvious,

that's gonna be a team we're going to talk about
in a little bit. But this defense I think can
be a home rerecord, a game record. They could do
a lot of damage here on this defense, especially if
you have the veteran presence of a Russell Wilson under center.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, I mean, I think this will be an above
average defense. Again, I think the tools are there sure that.
I mean, you need to put points on the board,
and that's been their biggest issue over the last few seasons.
For sure. It's been a competent defense for years.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I think honestly, Yeah, the defense hasn't been the problem
been the guy under center and maybe having a one
and a half receivers.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, so I think, like you said, this will you know,
be a pretty good defense.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
It could have the ability to finish top ten. I
really think it absolutely.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
I wouldn't doubt it.

Yeah.

I really like the moves there with Holland and a debo,
and also you added a couple of upfront presents too,
and Robertson, Harrison led Better, Chauncey Golston, you got you
got a lot of good pieces here.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
But then ultimately it's like it's like.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
The Browns how we talked about, Like the Browns defense
is good, but it's okay, what will the offense do
to prevent the defense from being on the field for
thirty five to forty minutes game?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Who's their coordinator?

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah? I was thinking that too, because it's not what's
his name, it's not.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
It's not Wink Martindale. He left, so good to see
quick google search the Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
They thought he was a whole big deal in the
hard Knocks from uh he was Braebel's DC.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Wait, okay, that's not terrible.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
He was DC of the Titans from twenty one to
twenty three.

So yeah, I mean, you know what, I actually really
don't mind that because the Titans. This is up a
more talented, better fit ross than what the Titans had,
and the Titans weren't terrible as far as that's concerned.
So yeah, cool, I like you said, this will be competitive.

the Giants get three wins and they just get Sunday
Night Football just handed to them every single time? You
want all the Jets, I have to wait like twelve
thirteen years between Sunday Night Football games just to sniff
a primetime game.

Well, didn't the Jets just have like one thousand primetime
games the last two years because of Rogers?

Yeah, they got flexed out of like the last one
though last year, so they got flexed.

The Eagles got flexed out of two at least two
games last year and they won super Bowl.

But yeah, big big matchups though, NFC East, uh, you know,
Cowboys and Commanders. Then you gotta play the AFC West,
and then you gotta go to the Saints. Then you
go to the Eagles, and you're doing this and you're
doing that the Broncos. This is a very unrelenting schedule,
I really like.

I've been thinking that since I saw the schedules when
they came out. There is a good chance that Dark
is playing before one of those Eagles games.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
There's a good chance he plays, Yeah, easily. I agree.

I thought it was gonna be the first one at home.
But then I there's the whole Broncos Russell Wilson thing
that I didn't that I forgot about, because they might
actually be like zero and five before that Eagles game.

hopeful season. I forgot that the NFC East this year
has like one of the has the hardest schedules in
the league.

Technically the Giants have the hardest because they don't like
the Eagles are second because we get to play the Giants.

Yeah, I I really think if this is I mean,
it shows it shows this is gonna be.

schedule just because of how the winning percentages between the

this season is successful for the New York Giants.

twenty three, they come off at NFC East Division championship
and while they kind of crumble in the playoffs last year,
they're looking to be that first team to repeat as
champions in the past twenty years. They obviously didn't get there.
Cowboys really looked abysmal. Dan Quinn leaves, he goes to Washington.

He's a head coach. I think he has a little
bit of success there. I don't know. But Dak gets
hurt against the Falcons. He has a hamstring injury knocks
him out the rest of the year. Team really hasn't
never really game the part and never went to the
expectations of what the giant should be. Mike McCarthy as
I just spit all over my phone. Geez, yeah, he

gets let go. He's not fired, he's not extended.

Contract expires, he goes off and does his other thing.
But then the biggest question for the Cowboys going into

And let's go into the offense where Dak is now
one hundred percent healthy. He's gonna be participating in the

make a trade for George Pickens, they hire their new

coach as I forgot to mention Brian Schottenheimer, but they
kind of pushed that in to about a ten to
thirty time slot on a random Friday during the playoffs,
which if it's the Cowboys, they gotta be making some noise. Obviously,
it has to be at noon or one o'clock during
the some weekday, not kind of tucked away where no
one's gonna be reporting the news or seeing it.

The Cowboys really enjoy the Schottenheimer hiring, but first time
head coach. They revamped the running back room. No more Zeke,
no more Dalvin Cook. Javonte Williams is free from Denver.

We talked about paper a lot in this team. We
also mentioned how the Titians could do out so much
last year and they ended up with the first pick, So.

On the defense here Trayvon Diggs looking for a new contract.
Apparently Michael Parsons also looking for a new contract, but
Diggs is on the pup list, so is the Marvin Overshown,
who had a very bad injury I think at the
end of last season against the Bengals. So they bring
in Dante Faller from Washington. Kenneth Murray they trade for

from the Titans, Keir Elam, who really wasn't living up
to expectations for the Buffalo Bills. He gets traded down
to the lone Star State. They also bring in Solomon
Thomas and Jack Sanborn from Chicago. They also draft Chevron
Revel Revel. Yeah, uh, for a team that's really been imploding,

they kind of look like they look a little bit
better than what they were putting up on paper last year.
But yeah, it's let's kind of see what uh Schottenheimer
can do as a first time head coach. No, mich McCarthy. Uh,
just see what he's able to execute there. For the
Dallas Cowboys, I really.

Liked their draft, to be honest, like the Giants too.
The Giants had a good one, but between Revel and
where is he going here is a roku.

made them good is building up front. And the only
difference between then and now is I doubt that half
