Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to another installment of For the Fan, episode
number one fifty nine. As always, I am Will and
we get Domin. We got Jake here, gentlemen, Salutations's up?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's up.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Uh yeah, eight teams down.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
We got twenty four more teams to go twenty four,
which is obviously needed to ban the Tush Push, and
the only twenty two teams voted to ban it, so
we get another year of the Tush Push year, which
makes sense because we're talking about the NFC East today. Uh, Jake,
how do you feel about paying the wheel off a
couple of Benjamin Franklin's to not have to wait that long?
Speaker 4 (00:35):
It was threatened with some spent shoes. Didn't want to
smoke this year.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
I heard there was a ben Franklin or two on
this wheel that you offered it just to make sure
landed on East. And we're not talking about Weast here,
We're talking about East.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
He was actually getting a little jealous because they were
only doing the rest of our teams. So we all
decided to switch it up this year. And we don't
even get we don't even get to August and we've
done all of our teams are so that's pretty remarkable.
That's never happened.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Yeah, we don't have to wait until the season is
about to start.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, we should go and get a magic conch and
ask it what team.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
We should do next.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
That would be a kind of magic eight bril every division.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, it would be kind of cool. I could probably
make that up. But it's okay. You are gone. No
East's left.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
No East is gone. We can only go from the
Midwest and outwhere. Well, we can go south, but who
really wants to go south?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
But yeah, all the teams have reported the training camp.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
The final two teams today reported, which were the Pittsburgh
Steelers and the Atlanta Falcons. So all thirty two teams
have reported for camp. Very exciting times. Let's get into this.
So you guys are listening to for the fan.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
You are listening to for the Fan.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
As always, we start with the worst team and we
work our way to the division winner. So how else
would we start this episode? But the armpit of America
called MetLife Stadium, the Graveyard, whatever you want to name it.
Here the New York Giants, where a year ago, Daniel
Jones coming off an ecl injury. A lot of questions
going around the Giants didn't keep Saquon Barkley. He made
(02:31):
a trip down nine ninety five to sign with the Eagles,
and I guess he had an okay season down there.
But Daniel Jones, he didn't really live up to the expectations.
They end up releasing him. They go through the quarterback
gridlock of Tommy Cutlet's ban I don't even know Tim Boyle,
I think was also there for a hot second Drew
Lock to a whole lot of ups and downs there
(02:51):
for the Giants last season, and maybe they could turn
the tides with a new quarterback room that they've acquired
and affected, and I don't know, maybe no more of
this garbage. I'm so tired of this shit, so tired
of it.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
So let's go into the offense.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
So the offense here a whole revamped quarterback room. They
go from man Daniel Jones, Drew Locke, Tommy Cutlets. I
think Tim Boyle was honestly there. I might be a
dreaming or something. But they go to Russell Wilson, who
had success with the Steelers last year. Jamis Winston, who
put up a hell of a game Monday night against
the Broncos when he was on the Browns and they
(03:34):
draft Jackson Dart.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Who quarterback in the future.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
We will figure that out. We are going to see
how that goes. But for the offense in general, a
whole lot of it's the same the ad camp scat
about at running back. They do draft Marcus bows in
the fifth round, and they also bring in James Hudson
on the offensive front. So a lot is the same
(03:58):
here for the Giants, except the quarterbom where they've already
come out and they've already said Russell Wilson is gonna
be our Week one starter. Obviously it's a quarterback battle,
but right now, Russell Wilson's our starter. Gentlemen, how are
we feeling about this revamped Giants team that's trying to
return to the playoffs for the first time since twenty
twenty two?
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Are we considering this revamped.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Well, if quarterback room, I mean, anything's better than Daniel Jones,
So I say, yes, it's a revamped offense.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I mean, all right, listen, Russell, do you think from.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
A one touchdown and eleven interception college quarterback in Tim
Boyle is better than anything that they've had? So I
consider this really revamped.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Russell Wilson played well last year. I don't think we
can really discount that the Russell Old.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
It looked like the Russell Old in some parts. He
put up some pretty good games, and then obviously the
nine win hit for the Steelers, ten win hit for
the Steelers, and you know, everyone just crashes down the earth.
Whatever's going on over there?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
You know, this is actually very alike a team we
talked about last week, which I genuinely I can't remember.
Oh is it? Okay? Is it the Jets? Yeah? I
think it was the Jets. Where this is I mean,
same stadium, same place. What else is new?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
If your color? If your color blind, I mean they're
both gray.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
So yeah, okay, where.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
This is like clearly set up as a bridge year
thing into a hopefully future thing. I said this about
the Jets. They've had a successful running game set up
with the same group. I can say that with the
Giants as well. I liked Tyrone Tracy a lot last year.
(05:47):
I think if they could, just like I said about
the Jets, if they could establish a kind of locked
in running game with this group and then figure out
what the hell you're gonna do at Passer and if
it will even work for the future.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Cool, I guess.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I mean it's really essentially the same conversation I think
I had about the Jets. We're just talking about some
different personnel, and.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Except they signed two quarterbacks and then drafted one.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah. So but you know, these are two quarterbacks that
are a little bit over the hill, that are temporary
solutions to a permanent problem. And you're hoping the permanent
solution is the third guy on this chart to the
permanent problem.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
And I don't know, So why do you see if
you think you're undrafted quarterback, which I guess they weren't
really sick because they traded up later to get him. Yeah,
but what is the point of Russell Wilson's starting games?
If you have Jackson Dark waiting there?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Like, it's not like not.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
To rush him, I would say, I mean, look at
some of the other quarterbacks. They kind of throw him
out to the Wolves and they kind of just like,
you know, say good luck, little wave.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Give him a guy that you can like actually have
a camp battle with, not a guy who has won
a Super Bowl, had a decent season last year. It's
made a bunch of money.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I think it's also too like you have to have
your job. You have to protect your job. So having
Russell Wilson, who can win games, maybe protect you shown
and dable for at least another year, preserve it for
another year.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Joe Shane bought himself time with with dirt just drafting
them period.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
That's the only reason the.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Bears buy every the Bears, you know, they buy time
with drafting quarterbacks and you get fire and even before
the end of their rookie season. I mean like that's
potato potato here.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Like they're going to take a quarterback regardless so that
he can say, well, listen, look we got to give
the kid time. Can't fire me yet?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Look how many planes can fly over ahead during warmups
for you to make it through the season. You know,
it's like, well there.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
How many high knees can you go through? With Russell
Wilson and talking about a spicy sandwich, it's spicy.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
You know, there's not gonna be many plane rides. You've
got a lot of a couple of buss in there,
you know, might not.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Be able to do the same.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
And they would they take a train or a bus
down the DC or would they fly just so it's a.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
That would be a bus.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
That definitely a bus.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Eagles definitely bus. I mean they probably take a train to.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Dallas, who knows.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
But also one thing to point out to Evan Neil
listed as guard. So that's also one other thing we
got to look out for here. Okay, So I'm just
saying he's not obviously the starter Greg Van Rotten who
came in last year from the Raiders. So yeah, a
big puzzle piece there for the fifth former fifth overall
(08:35):
pick or seventh overall pick, fifth seventh, something like that
in the draft. I don't know, very high draft pick
and not expectation, no expectations living up.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
From Yeah, I don't know. There is a there's a
factor of bridge year setting up for a future thing
and it looks possible maybe, but there is the factor
these dudes had this offseason to save their job for
at least just another year. So there's definitely some overlapping
(09:11):
of the two things for sure.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Let's shift over to the defense, and the defense really
improved a lot last year. So drafting a dual quarter
number three overall, you bring in the best free agent
safety on the market, Javon Hall, and you get bring
in a corner who I think was one of the
most more highly underrated corners on the market, a pulse
and a debo from the Saints, already matching up with
already a pretty stacked front seven. Now the secondary has
(09:39):
a little more consistency going on with at least someone
to be on the complimentary side of Dante Banks. Where
adri Jackson he left, he went down to the Eagles.
That's really all I got for this team. But really,
I think this is a really good defense. It's gonna
finish probably second in the division. It's not gonna finish first, obvious,
(10:00):
that's gonna be a team we're going to talk about
in a little bit. But this defense I think can
be a home rerecord, a game record. They could do
a lot of damage here on this defense, especially if
you have the veteran presence of a Russell Wilson under center.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, I mean, I think this will be an above
average defense. Again, I think the tools are there sure that.
I mean, you need to put points on the board,
and that's been their biggest issue over the last few seasons.
For sure. It's been a competent defense for years.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I think honestly, Yeah, the defense hasn't been the problem
been the guy under center and maybe having a one
and a half receivers.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, so I think, like you said, this will you know,
be a pretty good defense.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
It could have the ability to finish top ten. I
really think it absolutely.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
I wouldn't doubt it.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
I really like the moves there with Holland and a debo,
and also you added a couple of upfront presents too,
and Robertson, Harrison led Better, Chauncey Golston, you got you
got a lot of good pieces here.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
But then ultimately it's like it's like.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
The Browns how we talked about, Like the Browns defense
is good, but it's okay, what will the offense do
to prevent the defense from being on the field for
thirty five to forty minutes game?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Who's their coordinator?
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah? I was thinking that too, because it's not what's
his name, it's not.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
It's not Wink Martindale. He left, so good to see
quick google search the Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh that's right.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
They thought he was a whole big deal in the
hard Knocks from uh he was Braebel's DC.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Wait, okay, that's not terrible.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
He was DC of the Titans from twenty one to
twenty three.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
So yeah, I mean, you know what, I actually really
don't mind that because the Titans. This is up a
more talented, better fit ross than what the Titans had,
and the Titans weren't terrible as far as that's concerned.
So yeah, cool, I like you said, this will be competitive.
I don't even with one hundred coins.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
He gave us a heart, Steve returns Steve murp oh Man.
He's a big, very good guy in the fantasy shows.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
He really is.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
So Steve, I appreciate you tenfold. Thank you for the handheart.
Let's go to Let's go to uh, let's go to
the schedule here.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
I can't wait for those fantasy shows to start.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Um.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
I enjoyed even the fantasy segments in general. Yeah, they're fun.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
They were fun. Change your pace.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
So for the defensive side, uh yeah, you gotta do
a lot of uh oh.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
He's just sending us everything. There.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Let him cook, he said, he's sending us everything. Steve,
I'm blushing. Please, so's that time of the year. We're
gonna be cooking this year, don't you. Or we're gonna
have several of some fantasy shows going on. But the
schedule here very two very big weeks ahead of them.
Week one, obviously I go to DC and then you
gotta go to Dallas and then you gotta return to
(13:06):
Okay here, I gotta get back out here. How do
the Giants get three wins and they just get Sunday
Night Football just handed to them every single time? You
want all the Jets, I have to wait like twelve
thirteen years between Sunday Night Football games just to sniff
a primetime game.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Well, this is clear.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
This is the epitome of bullshit. This is such, This
is the showcase.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
This is the showcase.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
They can't even flex them out week three.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Okay, what happened the last time the Giants were in
Sunday Night Football?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
The Cowboys blew them out forty to nothing. Like that
was just like the worst showing on Sunday Night Football
I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Well, didn't the Jets just have like one thousand primetime
games the last two years because of Rogers?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Yeah, they got flexed out of like the last one
though last year, so they got flexed.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Out of one. Sorry.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
The Eagles got flexed out of two at least two
games last year and they won super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
But yeah, big big matchups though, NFC East, uh, you know,
Cowboys and Commanders. Then you gotta play the AFC West,
and then you gotta go to the Saints. Then you
go to the Eagles, and you're doing this and you're
doing that the Broncos. This is a very unrelenting schedule,
I really like.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
I've been thinking that since I saw the schedules when
they came out. There is a good chance that Dark
is playing before one of those Eagles games.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
There's a good chance he plays, Yeah, easily. I agree.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I thought it was gonna be the first one at home.
But then I there's the whole Broncos Russell Wilson thing
that I didn't that I forgot about, because they might
actually be like zero and five before that Eagles game.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
I think they could. I mean if any one thing.
I mean they played the Commander is really good.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Last year.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
They gave it all the way to the end with
them in those games. I'm not saying they can flip
a game, but you know they're gonna be given it.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
They're all chiefs. I'm gonna already chalk up an L
Chargers and L Saints. I think they could pull off
a w.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah, it's in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Though it's in New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
I mean, like, how are they really going to be
over Tyler Shaw?
Speaker 3 (15:08):
And is he and Bookie.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Even I don't even know who his speakers anything?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Rattler. I I just I find it really hard to
see him improve from three to fourteen. Maybe they could
get four or five wins, but I think it all
depends on what's going to go on under center.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Who's gonna keep you in games? Is gonna be the
offense or is it gonna be the defense?
Speaker 1 (15:30):
And then which side's gonna you know serious counterrack that
other part.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Unless they win the Saints game, it's probably gonna be less.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I see, like, I see like five wins as a
hopeful season. I forgot that the NFC East this year
has like one of the has the hardest schedules in
the league.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Technically the Giants have the hardest because they don't like
the Eagles are second because we get to play the Giants.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, I I really think if this is I mean,
it shows it shows this is gonna be.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
A This is not a good schedule.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
No, this is a grueling, grouling, grueling season for the Giants.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
To be fair, the NFC East usually has the hardest
schedule just because of how the winning percentages between the
teams usually are.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
This is for rough.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Let's move on. I'm kind of over the Giants. Oh yeah,
this season is successful for the New York Giants.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Honestly, it's a failure if Dark doesn't play games.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
If Dark can win three games, I'd be pretty saye
out of the five.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
What's the point of the year. If the guy you
drafted to be the future quarterback doesn't play games, it's
just the wasted year.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Then you just wasting time.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Yeah, I kind of got nothing. I mean, it's just
like this is rough.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
That is true.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
It's hard to hope when you look at the schedule.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, I'm done with this. How we move on.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Let's go to America's team, the Dallas Cowboys, where twenty
twenty three, they come off at NFC East Division championship
and while they kind of crumble in the playoffs last year,
they're looking to be that first team to repeat as
champions in the past twenty years. They obviously didn't get there.
Cowboys really looked abysmal. Dan Quinn leaves, he goes to Washington.
(17:21):
He's a head coach. I think he has a little
bit of success there. I don't know. But Dak gets
hurt against the Falcons. He has a hamstring injury knocks
him out the rest of the year. Team really hasn't
never really game the part and never went to the
expectations of what the giant should be. Mike McCarthy as
I just spit all over my phone. Geez, yeah, he
(17:44):
gets let go. He's not fired, he's not extended.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
He's just let go.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Contract expires, he goes off and does his other thing.
But then the biggest question for the Cowboys going into
twenty twenty five is the man picture right there Micah Parsons.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
When will he get paid?
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Obviously the number to beat is forty one million dollars,
which was set by TJ. Watt just the other week.
And let's go into the offense where Dak is now
one hundred percent healthy. He's gonna be participating in the
offseason training. Everything's going good for Dak. I suppose they
make a trade for George Pickens, they hire their new
(18:22):
coach as I forgot to mention Brian Schottenheimer, but they
kind of pushed that in to about a ten to
thirty time slot on a random Friday during the playoffs,
which if it's the Cowboys, they gotta be making some noise. Obviously,
it has to be at noon or one o'clock during
the some weekday, not kind of tucked away where no
one's gonna be reporting the news or seeing it.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
So who knows if.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
The Cowboys really enjoy the Schottenheimer hiring, but first time
head coach. They revamped the running back room. No more Zeke,
no more Dalvin Cook. Javonte Williams is free from Denver.
Miles Sanders gets released from Carolina.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
The team up there. They also draft the Jada On.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Blue and Phil Maffey in the twenty twenty five draft,
and Dom if you could pull us out here for
just a quick second. Here they draft Tyler Booker in
round one, and now they have to trade for Tyler
beat oddish be oddish, yeah, yeah, something like that. They
(19:22):
got a trade for the Commander Center, Okay, and they
got to convince Terren Steele the change his name with
Tyler and they can have the Great Wall of Tyler
in Dallas.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Everyone's team.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yes here, they have to bring him back, and they
gotta convince Tarren Steele, the change his name to Tyler,
the Great Wall of Tyler.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Put it on shirts.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Jerry Jones can make a million dollars if he did that.
I'm just saying they could be the greatest economic move
Dallas has seen since those Super Bowl VHS tapes.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
I'm done. I'm done. You guys talk, you guys talk.
I need a drink.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
How do you feel about the How do you feel
about the Miles Sanders stuff? Jack, he's had it. He's
been talking a lot. You haven't you haven't seen it.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
It's okay, I got my two Super Bowl rings plug
in my ears.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Miles Sanders basically said, oh go look at Saquon. Dude.
Saquon didn't do that for the Giants. He's not that good.
I've been doing this. And then you just see his
Carolina stats and you're like, been doing what, dude? Because no,
that's where is this coming.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Like he took the you were better in the Super Bowl.
He would have had two against the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
He was like, yeah, he went totally absorbed the Cowboys
end of the Cowboys Eagles rivalry. It sounds like he's
a little bit salty that the Eagles didn't resign him specifically, so.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
There, Yeah, it'sh nod him dirty, but it's also you
got to play better. No, yeah, pissed off his performance
in the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
He also can't say that like Sequon didn't do that
for the Giants. It's all the old line, not Taquon.
I've been doing this and you haven't been doing this, dude,
You've been really not doing this. So that was that
was a lot of talk man from I.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Think I saw a Cowboys account like preaching about Miles
Sanders and it was like the twenty seventeen game against
the Bears.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Like yeah, also Tyler, the Tyler Booker from the day
got drafted talk shit about.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
The Eagles, so kind of nuts. Yeah, that one is a.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Really fun week one.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
The one is how one how long?
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Forty three day?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Forty yeah, forty three days? I think from today last
week was fifty days, so forty three days until the
season opens up in our the founding of America in Philadelphia,
so defense time. Yeah, I got nothing else on this team.
I would hope that they can read bound. The offense
is built to, you know, do a lot of stuff.
I mean, you got Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens which
(21:49):
on paper should be a really top five one two
wide receiver duo. I mean on paper, I mean there.
We talked about paper a lot in this team. We
also mentioned how the Titians could do out so much
last year and they ended up with the first pick, So.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Predictions potato potato.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
On the defense here Trayvon Diggs looking for a new contract.
Apparently Michael Parsons also looking for a new contract, but
Diggs is on the pup list, so is the Marvin Overshown,
who had a very bad injury I think at the
end of last season against the Bengals. So they bring
in Dante Faller from Washington. Kenneth Murray they trade for
(22:26):
from the Titans, Keir Elam, who really wasn't living up
to expectations for the Buffalo Bills. He gets traded down
to the lone Star State. They also bring in Solomon
Thomas and Jack Sanborn from Chicago. They also draft Chevron
Revel Revel. Yeah, uh, for a team that's really been imploding,
(22:50):
they kind of look like they look a little bit
better than what they were putting up on paper last year.
But yeah, it's let's kind of see what uh Schottenheimer
can do as a first time head coach. No, mich McCarthy. Uh,
just see what he's able to execute there. For the
Dallas Cowboys, I really.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Liked their draft, to be honest, like the Giants too.
The Giants had a good one, but between Revel and
where is he going here is a roku.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Uh yeah, he's a third third d.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Yeah, So they went back to their old Uh. What
made them good is building up front. And the only
difference between then and now is I doubt that half
these guys get suspended in the middle of the season.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
H But it's the Cowboys. You never know.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
You never know in the world of Jerry uh Jura
Jarrow world.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Sorry might be maight be uh.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
But yeah, there's how long until Michael Parsons gets paid
by the Eagles, just in collect if any the guntons
from the rest of the division he gets paid.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
He gets paid.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Twenty four million dollars this season, fully guaranteed fifth year
rookie contract, so the number to beat is forty two.
But I'm pretty sure Digs got paid just two years
ago before he blew out his knee, so I'm pretty
surprised he's asking for a new contract already.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Well, it's do you see his last name?
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Yeah, Cardi B.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Cardigan backyard again, that's what I see when I see
Trayvon Diggs.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Yeah, I just need to see improvement from the defense. Obviously,
the defense was known in Dallas with dan Quinn he
leaves and it has been imploding. So maybe they could
get Elam back on track, Kenneth Murray, who obviously hasn't
been living up to expectations, and then Dante Faller who's
been bouncing around from team the team since he's been
drafted by the Jaguars way back in the day. Maybe
(24:55):
continuity could be a perfect thing for the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I honestly don't think that they can even sign persons.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
They have supposedly res of right now eighteen million cap
space for next season, and I don't know, I don't
know how you have I mean, capturymnastics is a real thing, but.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Figuring out the entire cap situation Olympic sport, yeah, especially
who could get the gold medal first, that's what you're
looking at here for the Cowboys. I could shift over
here to the schedule. Let's bring this full screen wherever
this I don't even know where the full screen is
(25:40):
now it's full screen for me. They gotta keep it
like this. But yeah, week one, most important matchup there,
they go into Philly. They got to back up the
talk and they gotta walk to talk, and then they
go back through they're playing the Giants at home, and
then they're on the road for Chicago. A lot of
back and forth here, not a whole lot of continuity,
especially gotta go to the Jets.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
I don't know why this.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Cowboys nation decide these the old Jets logo.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
What the hell. It's a lot of back and Yeah,
that's a lot of cross country travel.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
You're going from Green Bay, then you gotta go to
the Jets. You're staying on the East Coast with the Panthers.
Then you're home for the Commanders. Then you got to
go to Denver, and then your home for the Cardinals,
which I'm already going to chalk a couple of loss
because Calamaris never lost at home.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
I'm gonna say that's worse than our schedule. Like I mean,
I I don't remember what the travel looks like on ours. Yeah,
but are technically on paper by one percentage, Like the
heart is the hardest. But then you're your East Coast,
then home, staying the same time zone, going north in
your back home, then it's east coast, east coast home,
(26:52):
you know, then you're crossing back the other way. Just
a lot of like there's no you're never in the
same time zone twice.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
I'm thinking they can get eight wins. Well, I think
eight or nine wins. I think they're gonna you know,
they're gonna sweep the Giants. I think they could take
a game against Commanders Bears. I think they should absolutely
throttle Panthers. I'm not really too worried about. I don't know,
Cowboys have not beaten the Jets in MetLife, so that's
also another big if question. I don't even know the last
(27:22):
time they beat the Jets. So Raiders Dom returns, Uh.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Yeah, what do you guys have?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Matt wins wise, eight nine wins, Yeah, I mean I
feel like that's that's pretty on part.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Well, they're gonna sweep the Giants. They should absolutely throttle Chicago.
As I said, Packers. Who knows what's gonna happen there.
It's still gonna be warm. You're not gonna have to
play cold in Lambefields. So that's also a big. No,
they're at home. That's even worse. Okay, so Jordan Loves
absolutely gonna throw them then week four, But yeah, I
(28:00):
don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
That's a night game. They win night games to tell.
Oh my god, holy wait.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Yeah, they're back and forth. They go one one at home,
one on the road. They just there's no continuity on
the schedule whatsoever until the end of the season.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Uh yeah, I don't know. I think Michael Parsons being
in verse note makes a big difference. That's like, give
her a take.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
To practicing though, So that's also a big bonus there.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
For Cowboys theory. But that's just me that Jerry's going
to have him. Jerry's going to have him sit out
that first game, So that talk isbut the Cowboys and
less about the Eagle super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
They're going to put him up in the box suite
next to Jeffrey.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Lorie, so they show him all the time, you know,
show Michael, show Jerry.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Chris Jones is going to be up there too, holding
out again. Who knows that exactly how that was? Yeah,
well there's goodell. Oh he's talking with Chris Jones.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
I think it's actually, you know, what. I didn't look
at this last for the Giants either. I have those
odds up again. Yeah, see the Giants. Oh, they're generous
the Giants.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Talk about the Giants. We're already done with the Giants.
I can't talk about them anymore.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Well, I will tell you they are generous. With the Giants.
Cowboys are probably middle of the road. Yeah, seven point
eight wins. There you go.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
I mean, you gotta play in the cold for the
last two weeks of the season. Is gonna honestly kill them.
You gotta go to DC on Christmas. Christmas, and then
you gotta go to Jet Life and play the Giants there.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
There a lot are worse than the Patriots by a
pretty decent amount.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
That after the bye I mean, hey, the Raiders, okay, cool,
you should be able to beat the Raiders in Las Vegas.
But then you gotta play the Eagles, and then you
have a short week. You gotta play the Chiefs. Yeah,
and geez Louise. Then you gotta play the Lions the
next week.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Well again, this is this nfcast is tough, tough schedules, man,
tough tough year.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
They're all gonna be hard, robot Nick said, is in
the chat going oh seventeen, you know we're gonna agree
with this one here, that's what we're gonna do. He's
cooked them. So what's gonna make this season successful for
the Dallas Cowboys?
Speaker 2 (30:12):
If you could make playoffs, that'd be pretty great for you.
I don't know, you.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Usually bounce back after the Dak's injury that he has.
I mean four years ago when he has that freak
leg injury, they bounced back the year after. They should
be able to bounce back. I think they should bounce
back this year. But yeah, as you said, the Vision,
I think you not the Vision playoffs. I think you
gotta make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Yeah, yeah, I mean you just need to have a
pretty good, decent season, compete DAC play play good again.
Things come together. It'd be nice to establish the run
game again because the last two seasons have been pretty brutal.
Last season was just ugly, dude, and then wait, yeah, defense, so.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Last year but dan Quinn left and the defense just
took a nose dive. They went from top three in
the league to really a bottom ten unit. They were
not impressed whatsoever. Sow'd you know, Parsons, who's just you know,
that the hymn he's had.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
That was what Derek Henry like exposed them hard that
Ravens game, Like.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Oh yeah, the Ravens, they just cooked them the entire time.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Yeah, that was that was That was a rough watch.
So yeah, you kind of need the bounce back, like
you said, I think that's really all all I got.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
I think if they're challenging for the division, yeah, that
would be a successful year for them.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
I think that's a good, good take.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Because you never know who's gonna win the division because there's.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
No back to backs ever.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Last time was the Eagles back in two thousand and one,
the two thousand and four where they won four in
a row.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
So NFC championship every year, Eagles, that's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
All right, let's continue.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Let's go to America's capital in Washington, DC, landover Maryland
where they have a better.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Stadium in life. Let's also put that out there.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
But a year ago, they draft Jayden and Daniels with
the number two overall pick, trying to find some consistency
at quarterback, which they've been lacking since Kirk Cousins was there.
They go through the ringer of Alex Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taylor, Heineke,
They just the names go on and on. Sam Howell
was also there, and they find their man in Jade
and Daniels the rookie of the year. They have one
(32:30):
of the most Cinderella seasons ever. They go through. They
make the playoffs to the sixth seed. They go into
Tampa Bay, they upset Baker Mayfield's Buccaneers. Then they go
into Detroit upset the number one seeded Detroit Lions, although
falling short in the NFC Championship game against the Eagles.
It might be on the rise here for your Washington Commanders.
Entering year number two of the Jayden Daniels experience and
(32:53):
also another year removed from the Dan Snyder experience.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Good riddans.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
The offense here, obviously, you got to talk about the
offensive line. They bring in Laramie Tunsel via trade. They
get Nate Herbig from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sam Cosmy, who
knows if you're gonna be playing Week one or at
least for the first half of the season, touring ACL
in the Divisional round against the Detroit Lions. As I'm
stumbling over my words here, they bring in Deebo Samuel
(33:29):
They've drafted Jalen Lane. The offense is a lot of
the same. There's more depth there for the offensive line,
drafting Josh Connerley Junior in the first round. But yeah,
it looks like the up is going up for the
Washington Commanders. Obviously, there's gonna be some questions here, just
like how we had for Stroud entering year two. Is
(33:50):
he gonna hit this so called sophomore slump. That's where
I want to direct this conversation too. I mean, Jayden
Daniels a great year, nonetheless, really magical year there for
the Commanders, but can we avoid the sophomore slump for
mister Daniels entering year number two?
Speaker 2 (34:09):
It's tough because we just saw CJ. Stroud, who was
one of the most.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Successful rookie quarterbacks of his class.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yeah, sure, thing super secure in thinking that he's there,
that he's so good, that he's and and we definitely
saw a sophomore slump. So I don't know, I really
don't know. I mean a lot of this team is
kind of the same.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Tunsil is obviously great, so that's cool, but I mean
it's it's ah, I don't know, it's more of the same.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
You have also Terry mclarn who did not show up
to camp yesterday.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
He's on the reserve list, so.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
He's really not two thousand dollars fifty dollars a day.
I mean, I think he's just down the street from
where they practice, so, which is funny. He was at
a yoga class today and someone like took a selfie
with him, So got gotta stay loose though for these
training camp sessions whenever he's gonna end up returning to
the team.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
I mean, if you're scared of Deebo Samuel wide receiver one.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Yeah, but though Debo is down what like, he's down
a bunch of weight, so at least.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
I think he's like two ten. I think.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I don't even I don't even know what the exact
way was.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
I saw two ten, But I could be a telling
them a lie.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
I thought I saw he's about he's he's like the
most fit he's been in a couple of years. I
could be wrong, but.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
But yeah, I do like this offense.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
They really do build up the offensive line there, so
Jaden's not gonna get hit. He might not have to
scramble as much, especially with a guy like TONSU is
gonna cover your blind side.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
I still don't know why.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
The Texans just decided to dump them for a second,
a third, and a fourth. I know he's getting paid
a lot of money, and the commanders can you know,
use that money, especially with the rookie contract. But yeah,
they've revamped a lot of parts here on this team
and on the defense as well.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
So well, let's do that.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Let's shift over here to the defense where a lot
of new names, a lot of new faces.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Are added on here.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Javon Kinlaw comes in from the Jets. They get Von
Miller just last week off the free agency market a
six point five million dollar contract. Jonathan Jones comes in
from New England. Will Harris from the Saints comes in.
They also draft Trey Amos for in round number two.
(36:50):
But a lot of a lot of the same there.
For not a lot of the same, but they kind
of fill out the defense, which obviously was their weaker
point laste here. But with Dan Quinn, it really brought
the best out of him, the better out of them.
Let's do this here, let's bring this back. Uh yeah,
(37:13):
what do you guys think of the defense? I don't
even know what's going on with Jake's camera.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
It's been like weird for the last like five minutes.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
What's it? I didn't see it.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
Oh, it's like spas it out. It's like it's somehow
showing like the wall. It's like glitchen Aut, like I
think we're possessed here.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
There's yeah, dude, what is it showing?
Speaker 2 (37:32):
What?
Speaker 3 (37:33):
What's going on here?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
I don't know what spells are you doing right now?
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Jake?
Speaker 4 (37:38):
I don't know, trying to put a curse on the Commanders,
although their stadium kind of does that.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
I think Jake's not doing the right curse. He's cursing
himself with this camera out it. I don't know what's
going on here.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
I will say I think the defense is going to compete.
It is what it is like, this is we should
see what we see normally for them. So I don't
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
How can you say the defense compete when I actually
played good teams he got torched.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
I mean, yeah, that is true.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
I really didn't did help win a lot of those
games last year.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
I think the Commander has benefited a lot from playing
pretty bad teams last season, like if we're gonna be honest,
and a lot of the moves they made, like they
don't exactly like move the needle as much. They're a
lot of like, hey, it's a name from five years ago,
as well as.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Up, I'll wait until you're done talking so that I'm
going to remove you. And then re said it just
all right, well this is all you because we won't
hear me.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Okay, I won't hear dom, so I'm gonna re lip
read everything that he's going to be talking about here
as he's trying to undo the spell that Jake put
on himself. Here we go, Oh nope, it's oh, it's
even twice as bad. But yeah, this defense is a
lot more. You know, it's on the older side. This
team is I think the oldest team in the NFL.
It's like twenty six year twenty six point two years
(38:59):
old on average, so it is on the older side.
Steelers is not too far behind him. I think the
Steelers like twenty six point one four if that's the
number I saw correctly.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
But yeah, a lot of a.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Lot of weirdness though, But yeah, we're gonna get through this. Commanders.
Can they repeat this year? We're gonna go right into
the schedule. As Domb's figuring this out.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
I can hear you. We're good, all right. It can
also talk technically too.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
It's just the voice of God.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
So Week one, though, against the Giants, that is a
big game. Last time they played in DC, it came
down to the final moments. I think other kicker had
like six field goals, so they obviously snuck out a win.
But short week Week two against the Packers, then you
got the Raiders. I think this team could do a
lot of damage. I think they can. I think they
can upset a lot of these games. But yeah, the
(39:54):
Penix and Daniel's matchup showdown another year with that going
into week number four, Uh, let's see, I'm gonna have one, two, three, four, five.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Six, uh seventy.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
I think they could go eleven wins again with the
Giants the Giants, and I think they can go three
and not to start the season. I think they can.
Maybe I think they can upset the Packers early on.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
What do you think.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
I think if any team, Yeah, I guess they're the
team you kind of have to put your money on
for the win the division just because of the NFC
East curse. But you know this is like the most
unpredicted it's.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
A gender reveal.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Oh it's bad, it's I think this camera is just toasted.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
This camera. I gotta do something with this.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
Geez. I think it got worse. I think the camera
finally melted from the heat from this.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
I don't know what's happening. I'll have to deal with
it off, you know, when we're down. But you can
still hear Jake. So there's that.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Sorry, it's they don't they don't. They don't want the when.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
The Eagles rather come up, you know, trying to sabotage you.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
What what is? Uh, let's see what our odds are
for this team. I mean it's gonna be up there,
you think, right, Yeah, I mean they had sports books
got them somewhere around nine and a half wins, fifty
five percent at playoffs. So I mean it's it's what
(41:36):
did they do? Last year?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Was twelve and five? I said eleven.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
I say, you know, you tone it down a little bit, but.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
I could do that not Sorry, yeah, twelve, I don't know. Yeah,
like you said, like ten wins is not unrealistic at all.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Nine or ten, it's it's.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Gonna kind of be a similar season. You would hope
you would hope you would think. I mean, we spoke
very highly of the Texans last year and that went
downhill pretty fast.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
I do also think the Cowboy like the Cowboys are better.
Speaker 4 (42:09):
Ye, we don't know what the Russell Wilson experienced Giants
are like. For however many weeks that's how long that's
gonna last until it's dark. Yeah, just and I don't
like as much as like they look like their upcoming
team from last season, they were very impressive. It was
a lot of fugasy wins, like just you know you're
(42:31):
gonna lose the Bears unless the guy decides he doesn't
want to play. And it just touched show voting with
the crowd and the fact that the Bengals can't stop
a nosebleed.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:45):
So I if they if their defense can actually make
stops this season, they'll be formidable.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
If not, they're they're gonna might they might even be worse.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
I'd still say, yeah, I mean, the right thing to say,
I think is just hover around that ten win nine
win mark when.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
A team but when like a team runs seven rushing
touchdowns on you, that's a bad sign for your defense.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
That's also true.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
What's gonna make the season?
Speaker 1 (43:13):
I'm successful for the Washington Commanders, easy, avoiding a sophomore slump.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yeah, show us prove it all over again, show us
it all again one more time this season, and then
I'll put you.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
In all those lists of everyone already is if you
do it again.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah, cement yourself in the in in that spot second
in the division, competitive year and you're out a playoff
team in the NFC every year, and then like here
we are, this is this is now, what this team is,
this is who Daniels is.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Like, that's the command is annoys me because they just
like had how great everyone already says they are because
of the one year with like Jaden Daniels is already
like the best quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
Apparently you gotta do it more. Look at Stroud like.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Happened so doesn't happened so many times where a guy
that goed one year and then what does he do?
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Heuse again?
Speaker 4 (44:10):
Then you're actually then you're cooking some gas. But gotta
do it again.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Yeah, that's what I think really ultimately makes it. Let's
do it over.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Let's head to the champions aka our Super Bowl champions,
where a year ago the head of Sirianni was being called,
especially after the disastrous end of the twenty twenty three season.
Eagles started out two and two to start the season,
Sirianni said was still being called for. Then they go
(44:43):
on this run. They only lose one game throughout the
rest of the season. They're fourteen and three, number one
seed NFC East champions. They run through the Packers. Oh, no,
number two seed. I'm sorry. They run through the Packers.
Then they run through the Rams, which probably one of
my favorite playoff games in recent memory. Then they go
through the Commanders, and then they put up the most
thumping Super Bowl since the Seahawks and the Broncos played
(45:05):
in MetLife Stadium, where again Russell Wilson somehow gets mentioned
in this. But Super Bowl champion Jade and Daniels hoist
the Lombardi and hopefully silences the haters as he heads
into a Super Bowl defense. Uh for his defensive year.
I don't even know what words was trying to go
out there.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
I hope you know you just head Super Bowl champion
Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Oh, whoops, Jalen hurts. I am so bad oh geez Louise.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
Disrespect continues even to hear damn it.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
Jane Daniels gets hurt. I believe talking.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
About the I blame the Commanders being successful last year,
and I had to talk about them just before. So yeah,
it's just the Jays. It's always the Jays.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
It's close, it's close, like it's close.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Jalen Hurts super Bowl Champion. Let's also put that there.
Jalen Hurts super Bowl Champion, my fantasy quarterback last.
Speaker 3 (45:55):
Year, super Bowl MVP.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
To you, super Bowl MVP, can you Pikett? Also super
Bowl MVP quarterback? If you get a snap, your super
Bowl champion in my heart. Let's go into the offense
here where the offense A lot of it's the same.
Makai Becton. He goes to the Chargers, so they slide in.
Uh Tyler Steen there at right guard. They get a
(46:16):
lot of the backups here. Uh uh oh no, we
gotta pause here, we got to pause. The man of
the hour is here, the mister seawagon, mister married man,
he is here, he is in tune here, he's two
months in to forever to go about the about marriage
and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Colton how are we doing here?
Speaker 5 (46:38):
Oh, you didn't need to stop the show for me
to slide right in here.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
I was just hoping.
Speaker 5 (46:41):
To sneakily join in the show. But well, what's up, fellas?
Speaker 1 (46:48):
How are you besides Jake's camera going haywire?
Speaker 5 (46:52):
No New Year's same Wi Fi issues?
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Oh no, just wire issues.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
This might be a hardware issue that look further into.
Speaker 5 (47:02):
No, everything's good, though, follas can't complain. Mine's very busy
at the moment. But hey, that's how these things work,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
It is.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Life's a crazy thing.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Sure is your next up on the docket there, mister.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
I got like four hundred seventy days on that next
Yet I am the furthest thing.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
The fact that you know the exact days. Yeah, my man.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
The fiance keeps it on her phone, just does a
countdown on our little widget banners.
Speaker 3 (47:30):
I I have no say in it. I don't follow it.
It's just on her. It's on her phone. I'm gonna blink.
It's gonna be here.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Speaking of blinking, let's talk about Jalen Hurts and the
Super Bowl champion Eagles team. Okay, so I butchered that,
but yes, Jalen Hurts still there. Saquon Barkley after what
twenty four hundred yards including the playoffs combined, puts up
one of the more historic running back seasons to date.
A lot of backups though, Kenda Lamb from Miami. They
trade for Kenyon Green.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
And a C. J. Gardner Johnson trade. Uh A J.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
Dillon.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
I don't know. Was the AJ Dillon on the Eagles last.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
Year or was he on the Packers before he had
the UH signed him recovering from the neck injury. But
Will Shipley is still there.
Speaker 5 (48:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Really, it's a lot of the same. Colin McCord comes
in the tray for dt R from the Browns for
a Super Bowl champion quarterback Kenny Pickett. Good thing someone
joined here to talk about picket man. I do have
the screenshot, Colton, and it does say that man's going
to hold the Lombardi Trust me on this, and you
(48:36):
are not wrong.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
I said that, Yeah, I said the d M.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
I said the man's looking small. He goes the man's
gonna be holding a Lombardi trophy.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
By the way, it's funny like you mentioned Kenny Pickett
and that's it right When Colton joined Sure, yeah, interrupted, Well.
Speaker 5 (49:02):
From I can't run away from Kenny Pickett. What can
I say?
Speaker 2 (49:07):
You interrupted Will saying that Kenny Pickett's the super MVP
or something like that.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
So all right, so I interrupted Will talking stupid. Okay,
so it sounds like a good time.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
Yeah, it's all right. But gentlemen, what are you guys
thoughts on the offense here? A lot of it's really
the same.
Speaker 5 (49:24):
I think we got to give the birds fan first
crack at this one, I think.
Speaker 4 (49:29):
And what do you want me to really say besides
the camp the one like possible change at guard. Yeah,
there's nothing much really to say about the offense besides
like the is. As long as once again Sirianni stays
out and keeps his ego at the door between Colin
plays with the new OC, it should be fine. Not
(49:52):
really worried about it.
Speaker 5 (49:55):
Where did Makai Beck did end up going the charters?
Speaker 4 (49:59):
Ah, that's right, I know Steen, Well, Kenyan Green didn't
practice today. He was one of the couple guys that didn't.
But Steen got all the first team reps. And it
sounds like as long as it will be a story
if he doesn't rather than he is, That's what I
understood is. So they're basically saying Steen's your starting right
(50:22):
guard week one.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
I mean it's a it's expect more of the same
from last year. I don't know success. I don't know
what else you need to say.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
I mean, this team should again. I want to say
cruise because I think Washington should be another interesting team.
Dallas kind of sort of going all in with getting
Pickens and like kind of adding more to it to
the roster. Russell, Yeah, the Giants aren't going to be
(50:59):
as shitty as they usually are. Like, the Giants are
still gonna probably finish the last in this division with
how good it is, but they're not gonna be like
a rollover dumbster fest like they usually are. I at
least I don't think so. Like I think Russ could
win them some games. Jamis could possibly win them some games.
They're not gonna be like an easy win. I don't
think going forward, at least this season. I mean, see
what happens next year when Jackson Dart gets on the field.
(51:22):
But I think Russ can win them some games, so
it's not gonna be a rollover fest. I think Philly
still wins this division. I mean I just don't think
Dallas has the macho or the kicking the ass to
win this division. I think Washington they've had an interesting
off season with Jayden Daniels knowing how good he was
last year and the fact that they're messing around with
(51:44):
Terry McLaurin. I thought this was gonna be very simple, like, oh,
Jayden's on a cheap deal, let's lock up Terry, mccaorran
and Deebo Samuel. And then here they are messing around
and Mccaorran's not happy going into camp, Like I don't
know what the hell Washington's doing.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
As far as that goes, Yeah, I will say we
did say we think the Giants would be more competitive,
and then we took a look at their schedule and
we had a really hard time justifying improvement.
Speaker 5 (52:13):
Oh I know, Like my thing is like they could
surprise you they like with a winner two like those
games were last year, like division games, Like okay, division
game cool, but you know they're god awful. So like
they're gonna lose anyway where this season. Sure, Like you're
all gonna at Giants Eagles, it's probably a loss, like
sixty five seventy five percent chance it's a loss for
(52:35):
the Giants, but if you're talking last year's team, it's
probably a ninety five percent chanceer losing the damn game.
Or this year it's like, sure, still shit, but not
as shit. So I not a rollover. Like again, I've
seen their schedule. I think it's absolutely terrible too, Like
it's I don't see a lot of wins. That's where
it's kind of like the conversation starts with Jackson Dark
(52:58):
possibly getting game time that week nine, week eight, because
they're gonna be already out of it probably, So I think
Hilly wins his division again. I just think they're locking
and loaded again.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
Absolutely, that's that's kind of what we were saying.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
As long as the NFC East curse doesn't you know,
weird said I.
Speaker 5 (53:16):
Would say it was like every other year it's a
new winner sing.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
The last wrap back to back was the Eagles with
McNabb back in the early two thousands.
Speaker 5 (53:23):
That's insane, which.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
Means, by the math, could be the Commander's Division they
win every five years.
Speaker 4 (53:30):
By the cycle that it's actually Pattleman that's actually done.
It's the Commanders.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
It's just weird.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
Let's go to the defense.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
Here, let's break down this defense where Eagles they move
on from Darius Slay, they ship them across the state
to the Steelers. James Bradberry gets kicked off. I don't
even know where he is Love Island. I don't even
know where the hell he's even located. Brandon Graham, he
hangs up the cleats after winning his second Super Bowl
title and retearing the triceps that he tore in season.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
But he played in the Super Bowl. That's all that
matters here.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
But with all the old asia's left, this team got
even younger on defense. And I don't even know who's
the oldest guy on this team. I would have to
put some money on a Dori Jackson, but I don't know.
I think everyone on this team is in their mid
twenties on defense or younger.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
This team is.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
A rookie contract a lore if you really deep dive
with this.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
Besides this defense in the NFL Wow.
Speaker 1 (54:29):
Beside Zach Bond, who got a big extension, the Eagles
don't sign the middle linebackers very often. He gets his money.
Nikobe Dean, who knows if he's gonna play. I know
he's coming from a very bad knee injury against the
Packers in the wildcard round, So Chihaw Campbell is gonna
slide in there and take Dean's spot until Dean's back healthy.
So the defense, the best defense in the league, gets
(54:51):
even younger, which who knows if that was humanly possible.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
Not me.
Speaker 4 (54:59):
This is my favorite part of the team. I love
the defense. It's so fun. It's just young, fast and
just aggressive. I love the fancio so much. I know
there was like, up until today, there was a big
concern that because the reason Johan Campbell slipped is he
was hurt. But he practiced today and looks like he's
(55:22):
gonna play Week one likely, and they used him a
lot like how Michael Parsons was in college, and that
off ball can cover and then run all across the field.
Speaker 3 (55:35):
Guy, m.
Speaker 4 (55:39):
The only if I'm gonna say, if anything actually concerns
me about this defense, it's the opposite corner of Pumon
Mitchell because with Slay there, they weren't picking on Quinnyon.
He was doing really well so that they decided that
they had to pick on the Pro Bowl.
Speaker 3 (55:59):
Was he ever in all? Definitely, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
At least maybe for Detroit he might have been.
Speaker 4 (56:06):
They picked, They decided that their best option was to
pick on the older all pro corner and not throw
at the rookie. But now it's kiey Ringo or Dori Jackson.
And that's a big concern for me, considering that khiey
Ringo had got torched today in practice. So I smell
one of the Howie late late training camp moves where
(56:28):
he either where he brings somebody in a possible as
Sante Samuel Junior.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Is he still out there?
Speaker 3 (56:36):
He's still out there.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
That's crazy how he always tries to make him like
he always picks somebody up late. He tries to see
what's happening in camp. And I think that's the one.
I think Assante will be an Eagle by the end
of August.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
That'd be pretty cool Fort Eagles fans.
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Because when you get I mean, you get cooked by
aj in practice. Fine, then he got burnt deep. The
only the one, the one rule the fanjo defenses do
not get beat deep. And you got beat by Terrence Marshall.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
L shoot guy, go Diaggers.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
I mean this defense is still gonna be good. It
just whatever.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
I don't know if we could be better than what
they were.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
But geez, as young as they are.
Speaker 4 (57:20):
I mean, but again they did it with the youngest,
least experienced defense, and.
Speaker 3 (57:26):
Now it's even younger, younger.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Schedule.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Let's go to the schedule, the only standing up schedule
I can find. Of the Eagles, I can't find anything
with but Week one, Big week Cowboys. The banner goes
up everything, the big celebration of the Super Bowl champion team.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
That they had a year ago.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
And then they go right out to arrowhead week number two,
and then they get the rematch against the Rams. A
lot of back and forth with this team, but you know,
on the road early on Thursday night football against the Giants,
then on the road again for the Vikings, but primetime
galore to conclude the schedule with Monday nights, Sunday night,
Friday night, Saturday nights.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
Monday nights. Again, like geez, I got twelve, I could
say twelve. I got conservatively twelve.
Speaker 5 (58:19):
I hate you conservative with twelve. Oh yeah, I know,
conservative conservative. I will probably around eleven. Twelve, could be thirteen. Like,
and this team stays healthy, this they're gonna be a
problem again. It's very simple.
Speaker 4 (58:37):
Again, so long as the new OC problem doesn't rear
its like you know they every year OC. If Sirianni
can not get involved and put his offense in which
clearly sucks, is proven it sucks, they'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
I will say, out of all the NFC East schedules,
I find this one at least maybe to be the easiest,
which is insane because this is the first place schedule stretching.
Speaker 1 (59:04):
I mean, when you have a freaking super team like
I would think it would be easier.
Speaker 5 (59:09):
It's a lot easier when you have an elite team
looking at the schedule and it's like, oh yeah, cool,
Detroit's very good. Green Bay is a good team, like
oh but oh yeah, we're talking about the Eagles here.
So it's like it makes a little bit different when
you're all getting it that way.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
That stretch into the bye week is kind of kind
of nice, man, a little bit nice. Like it's it's not.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
Like this is, well, did you did you count the
Buccaneers a win or a loss?
Speaker 2 (59:34):
I kind of I mean that is a toss up.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
It's a loss. Yeah, it's not a toss up, it's
a loss.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
There's teams those first four weeks are teams that are
out to get that win to Yeah, but that's like
that's like, hey, we remember last year, like you know,
so did you have that happening for you?
Speaker 4 (59:57):
And then you got the Bills on the road in
the second last week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Yeah, that one's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
That's probably gonna be one of the closing games of
Orchard Park. So wow, emotions will be running high there
in Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
Get to see those fugazy fans.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
What's the what are the odds?
Speaker 5 (01:00:13):
Dom?
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
What are we looking at here?
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Sports books have it somewhere around eleven wins, just under
eleven wins, ten point eight whatever, and then playoffs at
like seventy so at Super Bowl the second the highest
odds at pretty much twelve percent. So there's what's the
(01:00:35):
That's what the sports books are are rating them at.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
And I gotta ask the controversial question here, what will
make the season successful for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
Doing what's apparently, as of today, the banned word around
the Eagles facility. Repeat, no one will say it, they all,
they all basically Jalen won't say the word.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
He wouldn't put his ring on.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I have I have a four step playing here for
the Eagles. Okay, step one's already been achieved. It's already
been done. Okay, the tush push is not banned. Okay,
the Eagles are dabbing up the ten teams that voted
no for that band. They're dabbing them up. They're behind
the scenes, they're going at it. Probably the loudest dab
in the entire world that they're doing. I forgot all
the teams that are on.
Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
Play them all the Rams, the Bank, the Bills, and
the Packers were the three big teams, and then the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
So you got step You got step one out of
the way. Okay, we play them all the Eagle. The
Eagles can The Eagles can do it. They can repeat
as NFC East champions. They can honestly do that. So
that's step two. Step three. Just have the entire playoffs
run to Philadelphia. They go to the super Bowl when
they do not have to go on the road. Science
backs it up, all the everything backs it up. Oh four,
(01:01:48):
twenty seventeen twenty two. Like, listen, just every no one
wants to go to Philadelphia. Okay, no one wants to
hear the go Birds guy in front of the Vikings
fan again. No one wants to deal with the smoke there.
That's step three and step four. Obviously, it's the it's
the R word. You gotta do it, and I think
they could do it really successfully. They can win another
Tiffany Silver Trophy and put it right next to the
(01:02:10):
other two that are there, and maybe put up a
new statue there with Nick Foles and Doug Peterson outside
the stadium. I think that's the that's the fourth step plan.
They're already twenty five percent of the way there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
The only the encouraging thing this time around versus twenty
eighteen is the guy on our centers, not a head
case in compared to Carson Wentz. And you got guys
like Lane Johnson who did it before, like the guy
the leaders of the team, not the mercenaries, are the
guys who did it before the twenty After the twenty
(01:02:42):
eighteen season, there was a very like the hungry dogs
run faster. Thing died very fast because that team was
fat and happy. That team was so fat and happy
it was ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
That's all I got.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
Yeah, I would love to see another you know banner
go up, aside from the one that's gonna go up
in a couple a month or so.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Forty three days. Almost there. That's all of our show, though,
But Dom, you got to bring up the most important
part here. Yeah, let's remove that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
There we go.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
Where in the world are we going to next? Since
Colton joined, I can only hope that we're going to
be going to one division A one division only.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
So let's spin the wheel here.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
We already have two AFC down, we got one NFC down,
so let's see where in the world are we heading
to next.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
They're both they're both available.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
One's better than the other.
Speaker 5 (01:03:42):
Oh god please no, alrighty.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Here we go slowing down. No, no, we got to
put the rig in here. Okay, we're going to the AFC,
and it's whether we're going to talk about the AFC
South or the af see West. Here we go, it's
fifty to fifty. Where the world are we going to
(01:04:08):
be going to? Here it goes, where are we stopping?
Nobody knows?
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
All right, we're head to get west. We're going to
talk about a.
Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
Really fun division. All four coaches uh champions in their
own respected thing, either college national champion or Super Bowl champion.
So yeah, coaches, this is the oldest This is the
oldest division.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Coaching wise, not team weist coaching wise.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Average age is like over sixty easily.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
They got AARP. They're good, They're solid.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
This is this is the Retirement Home Division. I mean
should be good, should be good. I actually will be good.
I'm excited for this week. I've been looking forward to
the the AFC West. This is going to be a
really interesting one. We have some big changes and quarterback changes.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
Everything's going.
Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
I heard Pete Carroll yesterday talking and dude seems psyched.
He seems with it. Man, he seems he does not
seem as always is.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
He always seventy four years young teaching a class. He
just finished teaching class at USC in the spring semester.
So I don't even know he's doing everything. He's doing everything.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
He is he does. I mean, he spoke with some
like he just doesn't feel like he's doing above sixty.
The way he speaks, dude's crazy. So that's cool. And
he's still out there throwing dimes or whatever in training
camp and whatnot for fun.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Showing thirty five year old Gina Smith to throw the football.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
And I appreciate that he need.
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
How do you think they made the playoffs the one
time with Gino. He talked him out through the football
and they're gonna maybe maybe they'll do it again, who knows.
But that concludes our show. You can follow us on
