Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's just so weird. But hey, welcome everyone to for
the Fan episode number one sixty. As always, I am
Aquaman aka Will. We have the man with the middest
forearms of all time dom and we have the strongest
human to ever live in Jake, gentlemen, Hello, okay, Hello,
throwing right for a loop at the beginning way to go, No,

(00:20):
I was just like I was gonna say it. I'm like,
we're live and my TikTok chat forever appears on the
other screen here and not in TikTok. I don't know
why or what. I'm gonna try figuring that out, but yeah, uh,
we're now gonna be at the end of this episode.
Sixteen teams through, We're going out West. We've been stuck

(00:43):
in the Eastern time zone for jesus. Oh well besides Cowboys,
thank you Dallas.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Now we go out west. We deal with all the
West coast teams. Yeah, the specific time zone, the Pacific. Geez. Okay,
are we excited to talk about some Raiders, Bolts and
Broncos and Chiefs today?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I think I'm really only excited to talk about the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Our friends are in here on TikTok right now. I'm
not even lying to you who the NFL and Fox
is here right now. Our friends. We love them so much.
We appreciate them. Ten hold the second time. This is fantastic. Yeah, fun.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
We did love them last year when they joined right
before a Thursday night football game and.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
It was the Chargers and the Broncos. This is mat that. Listen,
there's rating on the wall, there's everything that's going there.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Whoever manages that must be a fan of one of
the two.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Oh man, But everyone, thank you for tuning in. We're
gonna get the show on the road. You're listening to
for the fan. You are listening to for the fan.

(02:12):
I do have the photo just in case anyone doesn't
believe us they were actually in the chat.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I just have to say that I also have the photo.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Got the pots. So as always, as always, we always
start out with the worst team. We work our way
to the division leader. And we're gonna start out here
in Sin City of all places, with the Las Vegas Raiders,
where a year ago they hire Antonio Pears to be
the full time head coach from the interim guy they

(02:43):
hied Tom Telesco, the former Chargers general manager, trying to
get something good to happen in Vegas after coming off
a pretty good interim season. They bring in Pierce is
a full time guy. Locker room loves him. They really
want him to, you know, make the lumps, the lumps,
the leaps and the bounds and all that stuff to
go through higher. Well, drafting this guy and Brock Bowers

(03:08):
as the captain of this offense. And well despite the
four thirteen record they fired to LESCo, they fire h Pierce,
they do bring in a Super Bowl winning head coach
and Pete Carroll and former Buccaneers exec someone up top
there in John Spytech as their next guys. So here

(03:32):
we go. Let's go right into the offense here where
Gardner Minshew and Desmond Ritter and some other guy I'm
totally drawing a blank on at the quarterback room. They
release all those guys, they move on. Well eight on
o'connells still there, so I should not say I forgot
about him. Gino Smith. The trade for a third round
pick from the Seattle Seahawks. They bring in Alex Kapu

(03:53):
got released by the Cincinnati Bengals, and they really tried
to build this offense up to really high stands. There's
drafting Ashton Gent in the first round. They bring in
a great leadership role in the backfield with Raheem Moster.
They revamped the receiving corps with Jack Beck, Tommy Mallett,
Dante Thornton Junior, also Colin Johnson from the Chicago Bears

(04:17):
last year. They're trying to find some stability. Pete Carroll
brings in this guy that he had his last couple
of years as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
And I want to turn the conversation back to you, guys.
H We clicked at the same time. Done happens often.

(04:38):
Let's see is there gonna be any clicking though with
this team? As they're trying to switch the atmosphere of
the locker room, the environment of the locker room, they
bring in a guy with Pete Carroll who was one
in the elite, he's one in the NFL. He's won
in college, he's done everything, really, he's won a Super Bowl,
he's been the two as head coach. We can what's

(04:59):
next now for the Raiders as they're trying to find
something new there in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
No longer be garbage actually having a line that can
do anything.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, I don't know. I mean Gen T and most
are that should be pretty sick. Uh should be pretty sick.
I mean there's so much there is a lot of
talent athleticism out of Gen T. You gotta hope they
make plays and running game. And I mean Gino Smith

(05:35):
is very competent, a very competent quarterback, maybe the most
competent quarterback that they've had since Derek Carr. So like, okay, no,
maybe maybe this is on the up, I guess, but
you know, we still have a lot to see here
like that, there there's a lot that needs to be

(05:58):
proven to us. I don't know. Pete Carle's decent head coach,
she's gotten it done. I don't know. You gotta hope.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I would love to see the like Beast Quick Era,
marsha On Lynch, Pete Carroll offense with this team. It'd
be pretty fun with Ashton Gent.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
A lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
She's got Michael Myers back there, standing straight up and
then running over people, and.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Michael Myers with Michael Mayer blocking him, so that'd be
even funnier.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well, for how long are they going to trade him?

Speaker 1 (06:35):
I think you got to keep him at that point.
I mean, yeah, you bring in Ian Thomas from the Panthers,
but brock Bauer's clear cut number one tight end. I
probably the best tight end prospect coming out of college
since Geez. I would say Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts was
pretty good in college and you know, obviously didn't Has
it really gone the expectation rout in the NFL?

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Yeah, allegedly he's now a receiver.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, apparently.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I like what they're doing here. There's a lot of
clips of a gentee out of the backfield doing a
lot of big plays there in Raiders camp. I think
they are a couple pieces away. I really think they
can start clicking. It's just when are they going to
start clicking? Obviously, Pete Carroll's not going to be there
for ten years seventy four years old, so obviously you

(07:22):
got to think of, Okay, who's going to be the
heir to the Raiders throne following Pete Carroll. But if
anyone's going to correct the locker room and make the
locker room better, it's going to be Pete Carroll, plain
and simple.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
The Steelers have really lacked stability. I mean, they hired
they hired Gruden on a ten year contract, right, and
that went well as south as that went.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
The NFL rat fucked him.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Yeah, and then you had you know, Antonio Brown, you
had that whole thing happened. Then since then, it's been
nothing but instable. Is instable word unstable?

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Unstable?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Jeez, it's been nothing about unstable because you've had you know,
Josh McDaniels, you had that shit show. Did quarterback positions
just been rough? This is the most stable we've seen
this team. Gino Smith is reliable at least.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
He could win you games. He won ten games last
year in Seattle. They were half a game at well
a full game out of the playoffs with a very
stacked NFC.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
And then you have Pete Carroll, who is a reliable
head coach. You know, it's like you gotta hope that
this is the most stable we've seen this team in
a while, and that it stays that way, and that
you gained some traction this year and to next year,
and that we have a foundation building blocks, something that

(08:54):
I feel like the Raiders have been trying to establish
for quite a number of years and fail pretty hard
at so I feel like, you know, this is the
best chance they've had to have those building blocks and
foundation and potentially a future which so many teams try
to accomplish and fail, including this team. So you know,

(09:17):
I if that's what we're looking at, that's awesome, and
you gotta hope that's what we're looking at. Well.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean, you go by last year. There are so
many games where the running back position had negative rushing yards.
You get yourself asking genty who was should have been
in the Heisman winner? You have Raheem Oster, who's two
years removed from leading the league in touchdowns. I listen,
I'd like to Zamir White Sincere McCormick, But like, you

(09:44):
got two guys in here who will be able to
find the ends of gonna be able to shoot the
gap and just run wild with it.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
You also like the most fun story of last season
in Jacobe Myers, at least from a fantasy perspective, Like
you can actually have like a real season.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah, I mean that is true. Jacoby meyerstod did have
a real season. And you know I expect him. I mean,
he's what the number one receiver on this now.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah, I would expect him be a number one receiver,
depending if you consider Bowers number one.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
But yeah, I mean that's also true. But yeah, it's
this should be a competent team, something that the Raiders
have kind of lacked. The stable, the stability, reliability, you know,
it should be somewhat exciting at times, watchable games that.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
The right side of the of the offensive line is.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Kind of yeah, yeah, I mean that's.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Never good when you get somebody like the worst offensive
lineman that they was a cast off on the worst
offensive line.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, it's true.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Let's go to the defense here where just a week
ago they ended up releasing Christian Jeez, I don't even
have drawn a total blank on his name, Christian Wilkins.
There we go, after just a year on his new contract,
the big ticket free agent in twenty twenty four. Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
There are some reports of what's going on. Some say
it's surgery, some say it's team stuff. It's a whole
big thing. But what Pete Carroll does best is try
to rebuild the defense. They brought in a lot of
guys who are hungry and they want to win, starting
with Jermaine Prat who was released from the Cincinnati Bengals.
They bring in a Landon Roberts from the Pittsburgh Steelers,

(11:37):
Devin White, who's been bouncing around since the Buccaneers released
them a couple of years ago, Lonnie Johnson, Junior, Eric Stokes,
Jeremy Chen. But that's also with the the side of
Max Crosby. You saw Malcolm Coots. You still have a
lot of these other guys. And they also draft a
Darien Porter in the third round. This year, they draft

(11:58):
Tonka Hemingway. It's a it's a defense in progress. I
think that's the best way you could put it there
for the Raiders. But yeah, they're gonna make some strides.
You still have Ja Corey and Bennett, Darnay Holmes, who
was making a couple of plays last year. I got

(12:20):
nothing else to say on this team right now, but
it's it's a work in progress. There can they can
only get better.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Let's be Carol an offensive coach. No, no, I will say,
on paper, a lot of these later Seahawks teams, even
when he was there, obviously a lot of those later
Seahawks teams after the legion of Boom that on paper,
when we could look like preseason like we're looking now,

(12:48):
we thought looked pretty terrible. I did at least and
still performed extremely well.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Well what y're talking about because there was like that
Errow where their defense was actually terrible.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Are you talking about the early years?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
No, I mean like the let Russ cook because that's
the only thing they had going for them. They had
to score forty points a game to win.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I guess that's true, maybe not, I don't know. I
don't know. This is just like a I don't know,
the Raiders. The standard for the Raiders is the floor,
So like if we see better than that, I guess
we got to be happy. So I don't know, I
don't know. We just kind of have to see.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Listen. I think you can just jump into the what
makes it success is like if Pete Carroll starts to
bring that winning foundation and winning culture into the locker room,
that they can actually build on something. I don't think
him or Gino are going to be there much longer,
Like they're not going to come in for really more
than I think even three years. They really like I

(13:56):
think they got Geno to the ship and be competitive
and worst case, we go get a quarterback you know,
in this upcoming draft that they can bring along under
this and build it all together.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
What's Junior's contract?

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Two years?

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah, they sign them to an extension, so it's three
years total. So it's the same amount as what Carol's
coaching right now.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, I mean that's yeah. I'm kind of fine with
pivoting a little bit into that because I really don't
know what to say about this defense other than like
this year, like I said, with the offense, you we
just need to see what they've been trying to strive
for a year and year out, with the stability, with

(14:42):
the building blocks, with the foundation, with some kind of
a future, competitiveness, just a culture, just something something with
some kind of stability. Every season's an issue. Every season
ends worse than it begin. It feels like, h I
don't know, you we need to go into next season

(15:04):
and feel like where you have some momentum into something.
You know, it's tough. This is a tough division too,
like it. We just need to see something out of
this team, man, that's really ultimately it. Other than being
a bottom five team in the league. They need to

(15:24):
get something going, some standard, some something foundation, anything, you know.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
So schedule, yeah, we do have one. We have one
question in the chat here, but it's not relating to this.
It's a fantasy question. Oh DJ Moore or Michael Pittman
in Dynasty should keep I don't know. I would have
to be DJ Moore. Just yeah. Pittman's awful. Yeah, okay,

(15:53):
now that's over.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
The schedule yelled at me for calling him slant boy
two point zero.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
DJ Moore, No or Pittman. Yeah, he kind of is.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
But here is the schedule. Big game Week one, the
Josh McDaniel's revenge game as they go to the New
England Patriots, and then you gotta go all the way
back across the coast for a Monday night football game
against the Chargers in week two, and then all the
way back across the Oh Jesus, this is just Ben.
That's terrible.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
My god. No, all the way back and then back
to the East a little bit and then.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Yeah yeah, then you no, you gotta yeah. Basically, you're
back at You're in the Eastern time zone for three
of your first five games to start the season.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
This is rough.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Oh man.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Home, East Home, kind of east ish.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
You're on the edge of the Eastern time zone. Indianapolis
is a weird town. Also, well, I've been there, it's.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Weird furthest you get so you get walloped.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
And then buy, or you can win and go on
the buye okay, listen, they play, they play that.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
They play.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
The Chiefs really tough in Arrowhead. If you go back
to last like four years.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I still don't have the face in that one. I
I see two wins going into the by maybe three,
which would be cool because it's almost their season total
from last season.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
I could five.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I could probably go as high as like seven. But
also Pete Carroll can just like surprise anyone. I don't
has he had a losing record. I think he only
had one losing record. That was in twenty twenty one
when Russ had the broken finger and they were just
like losing every close game. That was the start of
our stadium tour down they're down there for the comedy

(17:53):
the football team. Actually they weren't even the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah. Yeah. I Seven would be my like complete ceiling
of a of a number. I'm between five and six. Probably.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
What do the experts say or should we call them experts?
Should we call them degenerates?

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Degenerates? I like that better.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
What does the finance department tell.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Us they're not bottom five, So that's something. They have
them rated at exactly seven on the dot, which is
actually kind of surprising. And this is crazy twenty two
percent chance at playoffs, twenty two and a half percent
chance at playoffs, which if it.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Was any other coach you'll probably be like ten percent
or less. But I think because it's Pete Carroll, like
you got to put some respect on them.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
It's true, I get them with seven. If you're including
the Chiefs resting everybody at the end of there.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
That might be true.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Or what if the Chiefs are trying to fight for
that final playoffs spot, well.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Then I think.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
This division's not a pushover. I mean, listen, this division
brought put three teams in last year.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Also consider that. Yeah, again, I would love to see
every year they say, like the Chargers had a good
roster in the Charger can do something. But we'll get
to that.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, I mean, it's they're about somewhere in the sixth
or seventh worst team for the betting odds, so like
they're not bottom five. I guess, yeah, I mean, I
don't know. I guess that's kind of where we're sitting.

(19:40):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Well, as far as oh, I said seven begin with no.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
I mean, like, as far as the season for the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Oh, what makes it successful is gonna be? Hey, you
paid Juna Smith forty million dollars? Can he live up
to the forty million dollars? Wekay? I mean, hey, brock Bowers,
he was an offensive master mind. Who's gonna take Brock
Bauers in the twenty twenty four draft? And I think
he was the best rookie receiver last year? And what
Sash Jenny gonna do? Everyone's talked about, Oh, is genty

(20:10):
gonna be you know, in the top five, a top ten?
Or is he gonna like slide down the first round?
Like what's he gonna do? And the Raiders took the
chance on him? And what can he do? Can he
produce what he did at Boise State a year ago?
Or I mean, hey, he's not the whole offense now.
I mean there's a lot of good pieces on the offense.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I think this team's gonna be a lot flashier on
the offense than we're gonna be expecting on defense this year.
So I think the offense is gonna be a very
big surprising point for twenty twenty five Okay.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Do we think they ever, at any point in time
put up forty points in a game this year?

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yeah, they're absolutely going to do.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
You think, so look at the Colts.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
They're gonna definitely put it up on the Colts.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Or the Titans.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
I got a little bit of respect on the Titans. Okay, maybe,
I mean I would say it's either the Colts or
the Browns. Yeah, maybe the Giants.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Good defense, Maybe the Giants.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
The Bears out of camp has not looked good.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Maybe the Bears. All right, if they could put a
quarter points in it in a game, I'd be pretty proud.
I'd be like, Okay, maybe we're seeing a team here,
So Gino could do it.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
I think I think Gino can do it. I'm a
big believer. I only have his jersey.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Oh we know.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Shall we move on? Should we go five two and
eighty feet above sea level? Where I put the wrong record?
It was supposed to be ten and seven? Oh geez,
that is so bad. Wop, I'm gonna have to cut that.
I'm gonna make that better. But a year ago, the
Broncos did make the playoffs, okay, and they were the
AFC Cinderella. They did everything right, bo Nicks performed amazing

(21:47):
second quarterback to throw for thirty three seven hundred fift
yards of rush for another four hundred yards, tied with
Cam Newton as the only rookie quarterbacks to achieve that
in their very first year. And although the ended the
last year with a playoff loss, this team has a
lot more to go for them as they're looking to
go up and up heading into twenty twenty five with

(22:08):
now even more competition, even more readiness in the AFC West.
So looking in the offense here, uh JK. Dobbin's a
new piece. They bring in RJ. Harvey. They really resolidify
this running back room. Unfortunately someone's gonna be left out,
either Jeli McLaughlin or Audrich estime, they bring in Evan

(22:32):
Ingram who got cut by the Jaguars, So another big
piece for bow Knicks to throw to Courtland Sutton got
his big payday four years ninety two million dollars, followed
by Marvin Joe, Marvin Mims who really erupted last year.
Troy Franklin had some flashy plays, Devon Vell had another one,
and also Pat Bryant who's been making a lot of
waves there in a Broncos camp. The offensive line's really

(22:56):
the same. But I'm going to bring back the conversation,
you got what do you guys expect here heading into
twenty twenty five with the AFC Cinderelos a year ago?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
I absolutely do not know because I don't know how
much of that was some magic bottle crap that just
came out of nowhere. Like, at no point did they
look like overwhelmingly impressive, but yet they just kept rattling
out big wins. It made no sense.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Yeah, I mean, it's true their defense performed last year,
which was a complete shock to us after what we
did to them a year ago. Now, yeah, I don't know, man,

(23:52):
I really don't know what to say about this team.
Now we do say, you know, like, hey man, you
know Jayden Daniels sophomore slump, su J Stroud sophomore slump,
Like do we is this a conversation about bo Nicks?
Are we even gonna say sophomore slump is like a possibility?

(24:13):
Like did he performed last year? I don't think you
could take too much away from him when our expectations
was this isn't even a top thirty two quarterback in
the league. He performed like a top twenty quarterback in
the league. That's fine. I mean he kind of balled
out at times. They had a decent running game. Courtland

(24:35):
Sutton was what Courtland Sutton was supposed to be. A
thousand yard receiver, eight touchdowns. I don't you know. I
don't know this. This team performed last year. I don't
know what else to say, and the offense did enough,
so I don't know. I don't know how to judge

(24:56):
his team after last year. I guess they run it
back kind of. Ten wins is still a lot of wins,
especially in this division.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Well, seven according to Will.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Seven according to Will, he might have wrote their future
record this season. Who knows.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Which one of us supposed to be dyslexic.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
I didn't. I didn't change any of the records. On
the first first slide there, the Raiders was correct. Everyone
else isn't. So that's what's going for going for us.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Yeah, I don't. I don't know, man, I really it's uh.
I guess we'll find out. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
It's really like it's so hard to tell because like
as a team like this on the in Washington, yet
rookie quarterbacks who overperformed or over performed expectations as a rookie. Yeah,
so you don't know what to expect the second year thing.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Did CJ. Stroud over perform as a rookie?

Speaker 3 (25:52):
I don't know, because I think like we thought he
was gonna be good, like Shroud was like one of
those high pedigree guys. So it was Daniels, but like
Nick's not.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Really Yeah, well that's why I said so, like, is
it a conversation that we have with Bonick sophomore slump?

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Like it's not going to be a conversation, But I
think so too. I don't really remember their schedule. I know,
for I watched enough Commanders games to know that that
was some there was some you know, luck involved in that.
I got him right here. Don you got like, you know,
thirty seven hundred yards okay, you know, twenty nine pass touchdown,

(26:33):
the twelve picks.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
That's not bad, dude. I don't know when our expectations
where this is the worst team in the league. This
roster sucks. We don't know anyone on it. Defense is atrocious.
Quarterbacks aren't good. They're all a bunch of backups, like
and then they go ten and seven. He throws for
thirty seven hundred yards.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Three total touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
That's not bad. I'm okay with that.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
He really went from a game manager to making plays
that what Bownicks did, and he.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Played gritty and that's something you don't even see, like
that's not well, I mean, not really a Jayden Daniels
thing either. Caleb definitely didn't do that with the.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
First two weeks. It was like, uh, okay, it's just
the same Broncos. Oh they took bow next, it was
already each blah blah. And then they go to Tampa
Bay they beat the Buccaneers and then they beat the Jets,
and then he just kind of just kept on winning
after that.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
And then like also on top of that, he's he
caught that touchdown, right, he caught that touchdown where he
kind of like got bodied and like he put his
body out there a little bit, and right, Am I
wrong about that?

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Oh? Yeah? He did the Mile High Special? What's that
the Philly Special?

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Oh yeah, he did, right? And then he like the
dude has heart, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
I Mean, he plays, he competes, so it's like, all right,
I I don't know, man, I give him, I do
give him credit, but I don't know where to move
on from there.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Absolutely demolished in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
He did, but we didn't expect this team to even
sniff playoffs. So I don't whatever. If that's what it is,
that's what it is. I don't know. Good for them
is all I have to really say. Oh, did I
import the right one? Well, I don't think I did.
Did I No.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
I didn't change that one. It was too late because
let's go to the defense. I just did the next two. Okay,
So on the defensive side of the football, they draft
Jaddie barn in the first round. I think like the
top ten rated rookie going into Matta twenty six Patzertan
who made a big payday thirty million dollars a year.
I believe they draft Salvion Jones, and I think they

(28:49):
get two pieces who I think could be the biggest
difference makers and probably be the largest outliers if they
remain healthy, which is tell no Hufunga Andre Greenlaw from
the San Francisco forty nine ers. If those two stay
healthy and they when they're on the field, they play great, Yeah,
watch out. This is gonna be a wild one to

(29:10):
say the least, so watch out for them as they
go through heading into this year. I really think this
defense can step it up and perform to a whole
other level. What do you guys think is the thing?

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Because Kufunga is awesome when he's on the field.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, I mean there's another I don't. I don't know
what to say when I look at this team. Bro.
We looked at this team last year and thought this
defense was hot in garbage and we didn't know a
single person on the team and thought it was gonna
be the worst defense in the league that we've seen
in years, and certainly was not the case. This was

(29:53):
like that stupid Browns defense that just like performs and
keeps them in the game and the offense just does
enough and they're good. I don't know, cool, Like, this
defense got better for sure, So does that mean they're
gonna be a top eight defense in the league. I don't.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
I mean, they got one of my favorite linebackers, Nick Benito,
because he took one to the house last year. I
had to call him Cassa Bonito. And it's only fitting
because they're in Denver in South Park's just down the road.
Oh boy, Cassa Banita.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Yeah, that is kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
This defense is gonna play. I think Sean Payn's really
got him turned around, especially from the Russell Wilson experience
in Denver there, so I expect him to do a
lot more Like Zach Allen. He can't get after the quarterback.
John Frank la Me Myers is pretty pissed that he
got traded for a literal seventh round pick, so he
has something to prove. Jonathan Cooper's also another guy who

(30:57):
wants to prove. Nick Benito really exploded onto the scene
last year, and you have the best corner in the AFC.
I believe in Pats or Tan.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
See the thing like with Zach Allen, it's weird too,
is like he had like nearly half his career sacks
last season.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I think all it takes is just the defense, Like
just some guy, is it Vance Joseph, who's the defensive
coordinator for the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Yeah, And it's like you look, you look at it.
You look at the defense as it was last season
before like Zach Allen's breakout, and it's like, oh, Vance Joseph,
It's like this looks like it's supposed to stink.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Listens as what Sergio dipp said. There he is on
the sideline, player in the NFL, coach in the league,
and here he is he definitely had the time of
his life last year with this defense.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Uh well, I'm not sure if you knew this, but
if you just scrolled down a little bit more on
our lads, it does say all the coaching staff NGM.
So okay, from now on we don't have to look
it up. We just look on there. But yeah, either way.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
But I like using the Google machine.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
All right, let's let's kick the schedule. Let's see what
we can come up with for this team.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
So Week one's a big one. They played the Tennessee
Titans at home against the number one pick cam Ward.
For some reason, every couple of years they decide, oh,
Broncos and Titans could play Week one. There it is.
I think the last time was like twenty twenty, whenever
the Titans decided like run the league, that's what they did.
But a lot of it's this is a schedule. All right,

(32:44):
you have the Colts Week two, the Peyton Manning Bull
Chargers on the road. That's gonna be, uh something to
deal with. And then you got the big one there. Listen,
Bengals Week seventeen rematch. This team could have shut them
out last year for the playoff spot, but Bengals held on.
They got to play a Week eight team being in

(33:07):
the hunt. But then you gotta go out out east
to Philadelphia, and then you go to London for the
Jets game, and then you go back home for the
Giants and the Cowboys. I after Week six, I really
don't mind it because you're not doing a whole lot
of traveling from week seven to twelve, you're not doing
all that much.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
I got nine or ten.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Wow, this is I think they could match what they
did last year, which was ten. I think they can
easily do it. Sean Payton, hey, he's a brilliant head coach.
I think they can do it. I think it just
all relies on what we've talked about with some of
the second year guys like Jayden Daniels. Is what's gonna
make this team successful, and it is he gonna hit
a sophomore slump like bo Nicks was the second best

(33:50):
quarterback from last year's play rookie wise, If he doesn't
hit that sophomore slump, I think they could do a
lot better. And they did rebuild the offense a little
bit more for him to let it out a lot more.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Maybe I'm not giving him enough credit. I had him,
I load him around seven to maybe nine one. But
sports books have them at nine. They have them ranked
like pretty much just slightly above like the middle of
the whole league.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
I gave him the home Chiefs game.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Okay, and that's fair. They're gonna play. This is another
The Broncos actually do play tough against their hole.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
They do, and they especially at home. They play they
Chiefs very well.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Chiefs and the Chargers they played well.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
I think they could beat the Packers. I mean, the
Packers don't play well in Mile High and you can
watch all like that footage. You can. The Broncos always
give them, you know, the run for it. I think
they could go three and three in this division. I
think they go go five hundred.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
I mean, damn, you gotta Christmas Eve. I mean, at
least you play the Jaguars before and then you play
Christmas Night against the the Chiefs that that.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Well, you know that game is gonna be stolen from
them because it's a you know, big audience game.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Oh it's an away game too, damn.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yeah, they no chance. It'll be some poorly placed field
goal that you know, Oh it's all of a sudden,
a false start and they fumbled. Still somehow.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
They have a Thursday Night against the Raiders too. That
might be a really terrible game. The Broncs always have
a Thursday night game in the middle of the year,
and it's awful. It's like one of the worst watches
ever we've we've that's one of those ones where like, man,
every Thursday night game sucks.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
That's the Thursday night schedule. This year is actually pretty good, though.
I'll give them credit. They did up it good.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
You mean, went from unwatchable to well watch a couple
of games.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Yeah, okay, Well what's what? Uh? What makes it you're successful?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Bow Knicks doesn't his sophomore slump.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
I think all of those breakout years can you are
built on because it wasn't just Knicks mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
I mean they just need to kind of run it back.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
What makes it a success is cementing themselves as not
a fluke year.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah, not a fluke year. Winning a playoff game would
be spectacular.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
I mean, make it to the playoffs. They don't have
to hear it anymore. I mean, it's been a decade
since they were last there before the last season with
Peyton Manning. Now bow Nicks solidifies himself as hey, I
brought him to the playoffs. Shut up there it is.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
I I like this comment.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
I mean, this is a take. This is a take.
I don't know if it's the worst take, but it
is a take.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
I'm getting all the Chiefs refs things out of my
system today because as of today, you lost the super Bowl,
and like super Bowl winning gloating is ending as of today.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
I don't know if I could comfortably say they're going
to win the division, but I think.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Has some stuff has to happen for them to have
that happen. To be the tough thing, I think the
Broncos are a year out and they're gonna get all
that money from the Russell Wilson contract too, so like
they can stockpile next year. I think next year they
could honestly win the division. It's just this year is okay,
You're on the end of Russell Wilson's ninety million dollar

(37:30):
cap hit between like the last year and this year.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
I don't think this is the year for them.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
But next year they could definitely build off of it.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Yeah, I mean again, make playoffs again. That'd be sick.
And then if you win a playoff game, man, I
don't know. I mean, that's just you're playing with house money.
At that point, i'd I would say nothing short of
you're having a really great season for this team. So

(38:00):
let us move on.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
Let us move on, and we're gonna bolt the f
up with the Chargers here where last year, well twenty
twenty three, we saw the absolute collapse with Brandon Stali
and we're all pretty much thankful for that. Tom. You
can hit them, you could cue the video you've been
waiting for it. The last time we're ever gonna mention
this man's name.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
I don't know if it's the last time there it is.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
All right. So after that blew up, they bring in
a national champion coach with Harbaugh, and he has just
been obsessed with his quarterback, sleeps of him, doesn't think
a sheep before falling asleep. It's just justin Herbert, how
many times are you leaping overthrown passes?

Speaker 3 (38:47):
All that stuff?

Speaker 1 (38:48):
And as we said last year, Chargers could turn around,
especially with Harbaugh, and they did just that. They went
from a five win team of twenty twenty three to
a playoff team. Last year. Herbert had the best touchdown
interception ratio Chargers quarterback history twenty three to three. And
they're looking to build off of what they did last year,
especially on the offensive side of the football, but on

(39:09):
defense as well as I pull us back here slide
into the offense here where they've made a couple of
paydays with well Herbert. Obviously they paid They paid for
Shaun Slater, big time money. He's done it all and
speaking a big time the big ticket Makai Beckton. He

(39:30):
goes from that Eagle's dominant offensive line all the way
down to the Chargers to now probably solidify this line
and make it one of the elite units in the AFC.
They bring in Trey Harris with the second round pick,
KeAndre Lambert Smith. He's been making a lot of plays
in training camp this year. They also brought in Mike Williams,
but he ended up retiring right as camp was opening

(39:54):
up for the Chargers. And a big name here o'mari
and Hampton Nagie Harris is out for a little bit
firework injury. Good thing, he didn't lose any fingers, that
is a good sign. But an eye injury that's going
to hold them out on the Non football Injury list
or the NFI for short. Omario Hampton now gets crucial
snaps into trying to make himself the absolute lead back,

(40:18):
the dominant back for the Chargers. And also I should
say Lad McConkie rookie playoff record with receiving yards. I
think it's like one ninety eight he had against the Texans,
although it wasn't a lost geez, he killed it. And
also Quentin Johnston, how can we forget him? But gentlemen,
what do we think about this offense? Who's there's a

(40:41):
lot more character now, especially among the receiving cores.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
They have the most important things a sick o line
and a good quarterback.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Yeah, I mean, you know, Lad McConkie was sick last year.
I don't know how I feel about the running game
this year because last last year was such a thing
with JK. Dobbins.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Dobbins got hurt and then they brought in that space. Yeah,
like that.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Was those were two guys we already knew of. We
already knew what they could do.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
Logie was confusing and when they first signed him, but
then they drafted Hampton.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
So and sneakily in there is Naim Hines, which I
don't think he's necessarily that bad. I always liked him.
He's still I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Let me check out if that's actually him, because that's
Nahim Miller Hines.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Yeah that's a new one, right, but you would think
there's no way that's not him.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
That is Naim Hines, who we haven't seen in a
couple of seasons due to way Jet skiing accident where
a guy ran over his leg last year.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
What I'm saying is he even like able to play football.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
That's kind of crazy, to be honest. I really liked
him when he was on the Colts, and then he
wasn't bad on the Bills. He was super dynamic. So
it's like, okay, that was when what's his Who is
the guy on the Colts Marlon mack Marlin mack Man,
remember that little duo that was happening.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
Yeah, you know who their coach was, Nick Sirianni.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Yeah, that's also true. So it's like I liked him
as a little gadget like dynamic running back. He was
kind of fun. I don't want to talk about him
too much, but it's just kind of cool that he's there.
If he makes the team, that's it. Good for him.
I don't know. I don't know how to feel about
the running game. I think Najee Harris would genuinely succeed

(42:32):
on this team with how this running game could be
designed for him and whatnot. I don't know how much
we're going to see of him in the first place.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Now, I think he'll be back before week one.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Okay, well then you know what I mean. This just
could be kind of the same team we saw last
year with a little bit of some different names and
maybe even slightly improved. Actually definitely maybe moved with back.
Then it's good. It's a good team. We we still
have yet to see the justin Herbert that like really

(43:09):
takes over.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
And I don't think we're gonna see that Herbert, like
Harba is not the guy that's like, okay, hey hey Herbert,
you everything's on your shoulders, that's not it. That's why
they have Hampton, they have naj They're paying Nashi Harris,
I think like nine million dollars, So it's like obviously
they're gonna like split carriers, they're gonna do all that stuff.
It's not like one guy is reliable.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
I mean Herbert still had thirty eight hundred yards in
a one oh one rating.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Well, and then he played really good like once once,
like midway through the season, happened like he figured out
what was like the rhythm, and he really blew up.
Like after that, I think, like the bye week, he
just took off and it was the Herbert a old
and they're still down at the end of the season.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
I still think we see a season from Herbert that
is still elite, Like I still think he's got it
in him. I still think the ceiling.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
You're paying him like two hundred fifth million dollars, and
I think last year was the end of that rookie contract,
so now it's like that big contract he signed just
two years ago. I now starts.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Still hope that that ceiling is there. I still hope
that we do eventually see that from Herbert, that the
Herbert that we always hoped for, we always talked about
in the beginning of the year before the season started.
I hope that shows up at some point. I really
still want to see it. I still think it could
be there. Still.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
He also had the highest yards for a tenth of
his career.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Oh, I believe it all. And I think past Brandon
Staley is going to be better. I truly do believe that.
And I think it continues to snowball and momentums there,
and I think he's prepped to have a legitimately good
season again, maybe better, hopefully better.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
I think this offense could be the best offense in
the entire AFC West.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Yeah, I think that's an accurate statement.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Now, I know we're talking hypotheticals here, Okay, but I
don't want to like throw that out there.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
To talk about every year with them, is the hypotheticals. Yeah,
that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Yeah, that is the truth.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Also, Trey Lance quarterback, probably starting the Hall of Fame
game tomorrow and then DJ I'm not even gonna pronounce
his name, he'll probably play on the Hall of Fame.
I'm not repeating that, but yeah, he'll probably be playing
in the Hall of Fame game tomorrow. Defense. Defense what
all right? So here's the defense snthing. Samuel still in

(45:30):
the free agent market, so they bring in Dante Jackson
for the cornerback spot. They bring in Benjamin Saint Juice
for this other cornerback spot, a little bit of an
under the radar signing Deshaun Han from the Dolphins. They
also bring in uh Kyle Kinnard in the fourth round
along with Jamir Jamari my bad Jamari Caldwell in around

(45:54):
number three. There is not a lot of whole difference here.
Joey Bosa got cut, so he went to the Little Bills.
But Khalil Mack after a dominant performance last year, he's
still trying to capitalize off of still a man. What
was a year eleven in this league? Twelve?

Speaker 2 (46:13):
Right, he could be up there.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
I'm old. I don't understand this. But the defense is
the secondary is still good. Derwin James back there to
he still made the name of himself last year along
with Cam Hart a lot he uh Gilman as well. Uh.
But yeah, Tony Jefferson still there. I actually forgot that
he was on this team. But yeah, what are your

(46:36):
guys' thoughts on the defense which kept them in a
lot of games last year?

Speaker 3 (46:41):
He wasn't for a long stretch of this season like
they were like the best defense in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
Up there was it last year that Mack had six
sacks in a single game against the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Maybe, yeah, I think he had six sacts.

Speaker 3 (46:55):
It was like Week three or four four.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah, last year before last, I feel like he one
one game of year max, just like, hey, six sacks.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Yeah, Listen, you dropped some dead weight with the Joey
Bosa team. Like that's gone in behind you. You don't
have to be like, oh, you know what's gonna happen
with him? Is he going to perform this year? Is
he gonna get hurt? Right, you don't have to deal
with that. I feel like that is dead weight that

(47:23):
you genuinely freed up.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
I feel like you're just missing like that, that other
piece though, the complimentary piece outside of Mac.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
Yeah, I mean, nothing will beat the super.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
When potion was healthy, he was really good. But also
there's you could count more times than he wasn't healthy
compared to he was healthy.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
Yeah, they had the Bosa and the I don't remember
his name, that's crazy pull it out well on one side,
who mel ing yep. On the other side, that was
a sick combo like that. Yeah, you don't have that.
But I mean this is a good defense objectively, this
is a great defense. I mean you do still have

(48:04):
there's some older guys on here. I mean you still
have Denzel perriman older dude, like you said, Kilo Mack.
He's thirty four.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Now, can I just go back to when I was younger, geez,
I was in high school when he got drafted. But
Dupree's not young right now. But Dupree is pretty I
think he's the same age as Kloe Maac.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
Yeah. So it's like this is a little bit of
a veteran. They they have a good mix of young
and veteran, and even like on the younger veterans side,
like Derwin James, I mean they this is a good defense.
I like this defense. I expect this defense to uh
oh wow. Well I'm on our lads, and it's a

(48:46):
little bit different. I expect this defense to perform like
we expect them to perform. Be a top ish defense.
Top ten would be nice all the time. Yeah, this
offense can do enough, the defense can do enough. If
both offense and defense plays average for them, they're winning

(49:11):
still maybe double digit games, I think.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
And now bringing Denzil Perryman, who is now the last
person on this team that played for the San Diego
Chargers as well. He returns older.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Older, but veteran.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
But you know, now with a full offseason, now with
Horrorball installing the playbooks, you know, drilling these guys in
peeking behind the curtains to oh, this is when you
got to do it. I don't know if you saw
that social media clip he was teaching the receivers like
he would just pop out of this curtain and it
would be like, oh, way for them to cut and turn. Yeah,

(49:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
I think the culture will be good. I think everything
that we talk about with teams that are issues is
not really super pertaining to this team. I think it's
it's all gonna be just play on field and that'll
be it. So without any other issues, I expect good
things from this team.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Defense, defense, schedule, schedule, all right, the big one week
number one, they go all the way down south Brazil.
That's a tough one. You lose a home game against
the Chiefs, an actual home game that goes to Brazil,
that's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
That's crazy having a divisional game in a different country.
Is kind of fed up, not gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
I think the joke is like seventy two percent still
going to be Chiefs fans down in Brazil. So that's that.
Oh yeah, they come back home. Well, they go away.
Actually they're in Las Vegas for Week two against the Raiders. Geez.
I don't know if they if that Week one games
anything like we saw with the Packers and the Eagles
last year. I wasn't expecting, you know, a major like

(50:56):
shootout like that was. But I hope, I hope there
is a big shootout Week one, especially with high powered offenses.
I still think they could tie. I think they go
twelve wins this year. I think they could do that.
I think twelve wins is pretty on par for what
they gotta do.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
Man, they they kind of have an easy schedule, like you.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
Have when you have a good defense. When you have
a good defense, a good coaching staff, I think it's
really easy to be like, okay, yeah, that's easier than
other teams.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
They have a pretty easy stretch right in the meat
of the schedule.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
Oh yeah, dude.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
The left side of this graphic is like a super
good stretch for them. Like that, that's a nice stretch.
I mean, that's and there's not two really difficult games
in a row. There's really really not ever in that
that whole left side.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
I mean that Dolphins game is gonna be tough still
early October, it's gonna be one hundred degrees, so.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
I mean they play in California and the warm weather.
It's not like that crazy.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
I mean, you're right, so Fi does get pretty hot.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
And the Dolphins already down like seventeen players.

Speaker 3 (52:08):
They don't have a starting corner.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
I don't think, well, it's just whatever.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
They don't have a corner.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
They don't that's that's the better term.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
They don't have a medical staff is what they don't have.
I don't know what's either way. But then even when
we go onto the right side of the schedule, the
Steelers are the Steelers, like they the Steelers and the.

Speaker 1 (52:29):
Chargers is always like a great matchup too, Like it's
always close and competitive, Like I'm not afraid of the Jaguars. No,
the back for the Raiders, I'm not scared of Eagles.
We're gonna see what happens with that one.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
They have a bye week and then they have a
they have a that's a difficult.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
And stretch at the end is if you need to win.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
From your bye week on at any given moment, each
and every one of those games could be difficult.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
You've got playing in the cold and can the city.
Then you got to play a mile high at the
in the beginning of January.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
Right, So there's that.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
I still think I think twelve wins is perfect for them.
I think twelve wins is.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
Just what did they just go eleven and six?

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Eleven and sex?

Speaker 2 (53:15):
Yeah, So like I think this team improves from what
they were and I think that's gigantic for them. And
I think this is nothing but up for this team.
I like what they did, I like where they are,
I like the culture, I like everything about it. It
just seems like, for the first time in a little bit,

(53:38):
or at least actually kind of like a large stretch
of time for this team actually since San Diego, I
think the first time since San Diego, this team is
in a very positive atmosphere, positive light. Against you, I
would love to know.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Against the youth, it's definitely the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Okay, then we definitely didn't answer, yeah, who's that one against?
Because I like that score?

Speaker 3 (54:06):
Well, it makes more sense. I thought it just aw.
It came up when we first started talking about with
the Brazil game.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
Oh, I didn't notice when it came up. Yeah, it
came up to seven minutes ago. Yeah. I think for
the first time since San Diego, this team's in the
best shape that they've been in, the most positive shape.
No issues surrounding this team to question marks like let's
and it's not let's get.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
It in the past seasons where they were in a
Dolphins ish situation where you're kind of hoping guys stay
healthy like that kind of eras essentially over.

Speaker 2 (54:38):
I agree. Yeah, what I really think this is this
is for the first time since San Diego, and first
time since the twenty tens and back then and Philip
Rivers in that that era of time. I think for
the first time, this is like a we have no
issues happening, Like, let's go out there and let's have

(54:59):
a good season. We all we gotta do is play
and get it and that's it. That's so. Uh if
that's what we're back to, I'm pretty psyched.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Yeah, what makes us?

Speaker 2 (55:15):
What makes us successful?

Speaker 1 (55:17):
Uh? You got to make a DP playoff run. Your
built your bill for it. I mean, hey, Harball outside
Harbor has not had a losing season as an NFL coach.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Justin Herbert doesn't melt down the playoffs. That's the that's
the successful season.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
It's kind of like what the what we said for
the Broncos, you know, just run back again, have it
be better? Win a playoff game or two?

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Like Herbert in his career has four turnovers and one
touchdown in playoffs.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
How many playoff games?

Speaker 3 (55:47):
Two?

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Okay, well, to be fair, that Brandon Staley playoff game
was garbage. That was I write that one off completely.
I don't even recognize him.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
I would if he didn't do the same thing. I agree, Yeah,
like the virtually the same.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
Like, yeah, well that's also true.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
It's actually kind of worse.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Let's go. Let's team all.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
Right, we're past the young you had some first years
last year, like last year was the first year of
this team. Last year was the first year of this team.
This is year two. So we're gonna go out there.
We're gonna get it. We're gonna be improved. It's gonna
be good. Twelve wins, what do they have? What do

(56:27):
the sportsbooks have? Because it better be like, no, it's
not gonna be eleven ones. It's gonna be nine, not
even nine and a half wins. You can't be rated
right where the Broncos are. Dude, Uh huh, you can't
be rated worse than the Rams.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
Don't care, that's the same not even the same conference.

Speaker 2 (56:48):
It's like, yeah, I don't like them either way. All right, Yeah,
let's go. Let's go to the.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
Let's go to the AFC champions from last year, the
Kansas City Chiefs, where they were just finding ways to win.
First it was a tow, then it was a blocked kick,
a fumble, a botch snap. Everything went right for the Chiefs.
They started nine and oh they lost to only the
Bills and the Broncos. Last year they ended up running

(57:15):
the house again in the AFC, going to the Super Bowl,
and ultimately it was an implosion that no one saw
coming in New Orleans and they're trying to rebuild up
from that in the hopes of maybe making a dynasty
for three championships in four years. As I pull this back,

(57:38):
here we go into the offense. Here they have a
here we.

Speaker 3 (57:42):
Go before we even start, the first team to ever
like collect a fumble on a false start.

Speaker 1 (57:50):
Yeah. So looking at the offense here, they redo the
quarterback room, but they're bringing them mart Gardner Minshew Appy.
They draft Josh Simmons, who the chieved since Eric Fisher
and Mitchell Schwartz have not had consistency at the tackle positions,
a big rotating door at the tackles. Josh Simmons reportedly

(58:13):
having a really good camp. Maybe he could be that
piece of Patrick Mahomes's blind side. We're gonna see, but
the reports early he's having a good camp. They still
have a lot of speed in this receiving room with
Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Rashid Rice is coming off the
freaky clchair that he had early on in last season.

(58:36):
They drafted Jalen Royals. Yeah, they also bring in Elijah Mitchell.
They have Kareem Hunt again for another year. As I
bring it back out to you guys, uh, Eli Hondre
is just going at it right now. He's just there's
no there's no give for this man. There is no give.

(58:56):
As I bring the conversation back to you guys, Uh Yeah,
thoughts on this offense.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
I will say week one last year this team. Week
one is when this team legitimately looked best last year.
Uh So, I mean like that's when they were healthy
with all the young receivers. I mean, Rashi Rice looked
great and where they looked great, well maybe not yet, but.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
We two rushing touchdowns, like they gadget them.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Up, like they have the target, they have the weapons still.
I mean, Elijah Mitchell's fast as hell as well, so
like they went with that same vibe. So it's like,
despite all the bull crap that happened last year and
every other game and that being what it was week one,

(59:45):
they still legitimately looked really good last year without those things. So,
I mean, I don't know, they a lot of injuries
last year. We saw that. We saw them go through
all those receivers. Rashi Rice was really awesome before that
before his injury. There's weapons, so and Mahomes is still Mahomes.

(01:00:08):
You can still get the guy at the ball. I
still expect this to be the Chiefs team that is.
I mean, like refs aside, this is a team full
of talent, a team that still performs, and a lot
of guys that are dynamic as absolute hell, and the
team's built that way. Andy Reid is still Andy Reid.

(01:00:29):
Like you still got to expect performance from this team.
I honestly expect the zero things from from Travis Kelsey
at this point, I think's he's straight up washed, Like
I expect him to just be buns this.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
I think you forget that the refs decided that Orlando
Brown forgot how to play his all pro position in
Week one last season. The bullshit started immediately.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Yeah, but I mean this team, this team still perform.
Like when Mahomes got the ball to the dudes, they
were still really good. I mean they Rashi Rice was
still really dynamic whereth they was still really dynamic. They
did a lot of dynamic things. I mean, the team's
gonna it was.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
The worst season of his career statistically.

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Mahomes Homes, Yeah, well I'm one. I'm like, I'm saying,
if this is still the team we see week in
week out, it's gonna be a good team.

Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
I think if you see the same team you saw
week in week out this season, there are a ten
wins at most team.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
If it's this team or if it's the injured.

Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
Team, no, if it's a team that did what they
did last season.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
Well I'm talking about this team.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
It's the same team Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
Is not the same team as Week thirteen last season.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
But still they still worthy. They still they still had Juju,
they still had Kelsey.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Well, Jujus a borderline non factor on this team. Sky
Moore is like a non factor in this team. I'm
talking about, like this team right here with this.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
My question though, is Rashid Rice. What's his suspension going
to be? Because oh yeah, it announced because he has
thirty days to jail that he can serve at one point.
It doesn't have to be immediately, but they has five
years of community service, he has like all that stuff,
Like what that even mean? He's going to be out

(01:02:21):
for a couple of games.

Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
I think three or four games. I thought I sold
it actually came.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
I don't think it's official official that he's out. I
don't think the ruling came out for because.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
The can't despite all the bull crap, you there's still
a lot of talent on this team, and you just
can't discount the talent that's on this team. Isaiah Pacheco
is still an insane runner. Like, there's still a lot
of genuine, high tier talent on this team.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
They do move on from Joe Toney, they trade him
to the Bears. Kingsley moves into left guard, so the
great rotation continues for the Chiefs as they're trying to
plug and play. But Tray Smith got his big money extension.
I think Creed Humphreys also got a big extension as well.

(01:03:07):
So yeah, it's it's time to let's figure this stuff out. Also,
robertunyans on this team. I just learned that today.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
The Robertunyan he's way deep in there. I mean, it's
it's stuff like this, Like I simply agree with this.
Mahomes is gonna get really talented, dynamic dudes the ball
and they're gonna do what they're gonna do. So I
think you can't discount those guys. Despite all the all

(01:03:39):
the ref stuff and all the bull crap we got
last year weekend week out, you take all that away,
this is still an extremely talented team. And as long
as Mahome can Mahomes can get half these dudes the
ball at any given time, it's still a very competitive
team and there's a lot to work with. So, I mean,

(01:04:03):
it just is what it is. I still think we
see a double digit win team out of this despite
the ref stuff or anything like that. Even if that
completely stopped, if we don't see that, there's still too
much talent here.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
So shall we go to the defensive side of the ball. Yeah,
so as he moved to defense, here they get George Karloft.
This his big money extension. Yeah, A whole lot of
this stuff is really the same justin Reid. He goes
to the saying, so they miss out on a veteran
presence in the secondary. I don't really have much to

(01:04:41):
say on this defense all but Steve Spagnolo is going
to be just the guy again for the Chiefs. He's
gonna find ways for this defense to be you know, stockpiling.
He's gonna do whatever he can. I don't have much
to say on this defense. I really don't. Spegnola's just
gonna do something and it's gonna be great. In the

(01:05:04):
whole ten yards. We have a TikTok common here.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
Dirk Diggler says, will Pacheco and Hunt split carries evenly?

Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
No, hell no, they shouldn't. I would hope not. I
don't think that's a formula.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
For success, and they probably will.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
I mean that mean nuts last year.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Last year they did because the broken legs.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
So when Pachecko was out, they don't. They really didn't
ever come back go back to him at the end
of the year. It was mostly Hunt from there on out.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
Yeah, but I gotta hope if Pacheck is fully healthy,
I think he's gotta be your guy.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
Like straight up, I don't think it happens until maybe
later in the year. Like a win, you're touches that
kind of thing that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
That's too stop. I mean, Hunt's good, but like I
don't know full time.

Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Yeah, I don't have anything for this defense I think.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
I mean, I think this is where the rest stuff matters,
is more on defense than anything else. It's what the
other team can genuinely do or get taken away from
them or not. But I still think offense is going
to put up a lot of points.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
The Super Bowl was a big put it on tape
for how to attack Spagnolo. Now, can ever be team
do it? No, But it was a lot of you know,
dummy count see them declare the blitz and then adjusted
and beat them at it. It was someone broke it down.
Almost every major play in that game was a check

(01:06:37):
at the line that they exploited the defense on.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
Well, I mean, is that the formula you were talking
about to me last year? I don't remember. I don't know.
Later break down it might have been that, yeah, Jalen previously, Yeah,
because they had they were kind of figured out. I

(01:07:04):
don't know, I don't know. I never actually really know
how to feel about the Chiefs defense, to be honest
with you.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Just Spags is a great defensive mind of coach, and
he's just gonna be able to figure something out and
just run with it. So it may not look good
on paper, but it's Spagnolo and he's gonna just find anything.

Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
And it's it's why I crucify Josh Allen because how
can you not do this thing like figure this out?
That you can't make these also supposedly amazing quarterback plays
where you diagnose the defense before it happens and you
ran into a triple blitz.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
All right, let's head to the schedule here.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Did they have a hard schedule? Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
Week two, they come home, they gotta play the Eagles,
so that's that they also have to go to Brazil
like the Chargers Week one. Then you get an easy
one with Giants. I'm not a bit big fan of
this team, but I think this is still another like
eleven twelve win team unless something catastrophic happens like an
injury or something. I just I don't know. I generally

(01:08:15):
don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
So you get to pick on a lot of teams
that you know, you'll be like, well.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
I think they split maybe with every team in the division,
to be honest, at least.

Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
That's just you assume that Vegas has one of their like,
yeah nowhere games that they have against the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know if I do. But
I also think Denver can just stupidly win both games,
you know, like some dumb crap like that, or even.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Like the Chargers, Well, almost every team last last season.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
Almost won every single game. Yeah, I mean that's also true.
So I think I think in the division they're just
three and three as is. That's what I'm giving them.

Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
And then you know, Buffalo, Buffalo will win that game
because it's their super Bowl, and then they'll forget to
play them later yep.

Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
And then it's like it's like teams like Houston, you know,
teams like Houston where it's like, okay, yeah, Houston should
be back to what we hope they are, So maybe
they super compete in.

Speaker 3 (01:09:12):
This Well, I don't know anymore with them. I don't
know anymore with the same unglued in those games against Composure,
wise came on glued against the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
Yeah, but I mean they still play the tough teams.
They still play Baltimore, they still play what should be
tough Washington.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
They gotta play Detroy.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
You gotta Yeah, seven prime time games on the schedule.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
That's kind of what I feel like we should expect.

Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Well eight, yeah, eight, let's say two five yeah, eight
eight games, eight prime time games.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Sorry, that was just a great comment. Should have said
that to the Raiders ran. I mean, I can't say
that'd be applicable, but yeah, I don't know what are.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Eleven eleven twelve with I think they are eleven accord
to Caesars.

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
They're never according to the sports books ever like the
number one team, but they're dead flat eleven eleven games,
seventy seven percent playoffs, which is third.

Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
Like this team should be a playoff team.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Only ten percent to win the playoff or the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
So well, never mind, I read I retracted. I was
gonna say, makes sense.

Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
Now, numbers, Mason, what do they mean?

Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Okay, it's crazy, but it's just it's just one of
those things you see like with San Fran Buffalo san
Fran not this year, the tan Fran in the previous years,
where it's all go chance to win playoffs or super
Bowl or whatever, like just crazy rated in the sports
books and stuff. Buffalo's are always the same as well.

(01:11:12):
But you know some of those teams just win the
super Bowl and in the sports books and the fans
think so too. So all right, what do we want?
Are we doing? Wheel?

Speaker 1 (01:11:26):
Go to the wheel. Let's go to the wheel of misfortune.
Where are we gonna go? We have one AFC team left,
one AFC division left, and then we got because we
have wheel the mark.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Because we have one AFC team left. I just threw
it all on one wheel. We're not doing two wheels.
That ain't Wait what.

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
There we go, hey, olea costco cool.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Some ad placement, I guess Unfortunately, uh, there you go
at placement. All right, ready, right, this is correct, NFC
West South North.

Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
That's correct, this is all correct. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
I should put a FC South on there. Twice?

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
No spin, spin the damn wheel hit it like ten times.

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Sorry, NFC South, we have to double record both souths.

Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
I might kill myself that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Might be our shortest opportunity.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Please, we were so close. Oh my god, Jake said
it into the air, and it's now slowly becoming more
true as we go through.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
So here's here's the thing, though Jake said this before
we even went live, is now there's a one guarantee
that we do at least one South on that day,
on the double record day.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Oh my god, I'm not showing I'm not showing up
for those episodes. I'm not doing it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
No, I can't do it before we started. You'll is
get one of the souths and as a warm up
and then do the NFC North.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Yep, So that's out the window.

Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
At least we have the NFC West that has come
through and save it. That has to save us.

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
So next week I might double up the Souths on
the on the wheel next week and if we still
get West. It was written in the stars. You know what.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
I second this.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Yeah, I'm just gonna make it now, all.

Speaker 1 (01:13:29):
Right, we save it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
NFC North is next week.

Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
You know how it's gonna go, right, even if we
end up getting even if you double it up and
it works out the way we want, we're gonna have
NFC South and the NFC West so that we could
talk half an hour about adult any random dumb NFC
South team. We're just the Falcons and any cold I.

Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
All right, So that that's what it's gonna look like
next week, broll.

Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
Too, souths it's gonna land on the West. I hope
you understand that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
That's what we're really hoping doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
Maybe if you put ten west, it's gonna land on
the South.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
I'm gonna copy another West and put it on there
on the opposite sides.

Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
This is we're screwed. We are screwed.

Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
No dumb as is just one okay, because if it
still lands on it, it'll be the funniest thing.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Yeah, this is a nightmare situation. Is if it lands
just like this, that is what we have nightmares about.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
But yeah, that's the end of ours show. You can
follow us on all the social media's down below. YouTube
for the fan network, TikTok for the fan Network, X
for the fantounscored, and in his term, for the fan football. Uh, yep,
we get to go I forgot what division we did.
The NFC North is next week's we get to go skull,
we get to uh the Da.

Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
Bears, the Packers, the Blights and Kneecaps.

Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
Dead Lions are ripping a femur off or something. I'm
just saying, if the ap last episode, uh, you guys
are gonna be doing it with me. We're all gonna
go the Duval chance. No, no, nope, nope, nope, nope,
nope nope. That's not how it's gonna work. You spoke
this witchcraft into the air, and now we're gonna be
living it in the next couple minutes, a couple of weeks. Now,

(01:15:19):
not prepared for it, but yes, thank you all for
tuning in tune in next week. Thank you all so much.
We will see you then.
