Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen to another installment af the Fan,
episode number one sixty two. As always, I'm Will and
we have Dom here, and that's it. Just Dom. It's
like we're back to our old ways back in September.
But instead of sharing one little crappy blue yetti microphone,

(00:21):
that is it's in the rafters over here for me
on a shelf. Eccellent or microphones.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah, actually both of us? Yeah, how great? Good for us? Man,
it's been.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
We're closing in on.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Seven years, eight years now, seven years twenty eighteen season.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yeah, seven years, yeah, seven years. Man, what a wild
ride it's been. It's gonna continue to be a wild ride.
We got so much stuff going on here. Dom's it's
been pulling clips all week. He's excited to show everyone
that what he saw probably what he's bought on TikTok shop.
He's gonna be doing that as well. He's excited. I'm excited. Dom.

(01:06):
We're just gonna get right into this. Okay, you're listening
to for the Fan. You are listening to for the Fan,

(01:33):
and here we are. We're ready. AFC South time. This
is not our favorite division, but yeah, we're gonna try
making this as quick and painless as humanly possible. I
think it's the appropriate term here. So thank god there's
only two of us here having to break these down,
so it won't be taken that long. Maybe we'll be
joined by Colond in a couple of minutes, but we'll

(01:54):
figure that out when the road there comes. But let's
talk about the Tennessee Titans and the number one pick
who has not been talked about for a very long time.
Do do cam Ward? Where a year ago in twenty
twenty four, Brian Callahan leaves the Cincinnati Bengals, he goes

(02:16):
down to Tennessee, becomes the head coach, the heir to
the Vrabel era of Titans football, and it was just
not a good era whatsoever. Three wins, three and fourteen.
The man on the screen right there is gonna be
the air to the quarterback throw, maybe the air to
Titans football where that is gonna be something to figure
out as we move forward. But the least talked about

(02:38):
number one overall pick and cam Ward looks to turn
the tide and the page for the Tennessee Titans and
second year head coach Brian Callahan. As we shift into
the offense here blah blah blah boom oh, look at that.
It's like a fireball. A lot of changes on this team. Listen,
the quarterbacks were beating up last year. Will Levis was,

(02:59):
you know, just ransacked. Everything was just not going right
for the Titans. But camera ward, camera award my bad
number one pick looks to turn the tie. They revamped
the offensive line for the second consecutive year. Kevin Zeitler
comes in from Detroit. They get Dan Moore Junior, a
big money contract from the Steelers, four years, eighty eight

(03:19):
million dollars twenty two million dollars per year. They revamped
the receiving corps once more, bringing to Tyler Lockett, who
was released from Seattle after a very long tenure there,
Van Jefferson after a brief stint with the Steelers. Calvin
Ridley really is the one piece that's staying the same
in Chakwan Jackson, Bruce Oliver. But they do bring in
two receivers in the fourth round this year. Jamiir diyke

(03:42):
if I said that correctly, and then alec Ao Minner,
I'm just gonna go with that. Tashi Spears had a
spraint ankle in the first preseason game, so obviously there's
now a whole lot of stuff going on with him
as he's trying to get healthy and back for a
week number one for the Titans and Dom To bring
this back over to us, what's your standouts here? I

(04:04):
mean expectations for cam Ward entering the first year at
least talked about man. Eric Fisher had more hype in
twenty thirteen anyone that wasn't a quarterback that's been drafted
so much more talk Walker from the Jaguars, who will
talk about in a couple of minutes. Just yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Know, man.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Apparently he's looked pretty decent, right, he has a preseason
game under his belt now.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Right, Yeah, played the Titans, I think five of eight passing,
so it was uh yeah, okay showing Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
He didn't look bad, So okay, we'll get more as
the sample size probably increases next preseason game. Maybe, I
don't know, it will find out this. I don't think
it's like some of the quarterbacks we've seen drafted recently

(05:04):
in some of the recent years high like it's it's
not I don't know, I really after looking at this
and like seeing all these dudes drafted right in this
roster right here right. I went and looked up the
average age of every NFL team, and this is like
the seventh oldest team.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
So that's kind of crazy to think about.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Even after all this youth and these draft picks, this
is still the seventh oldest team in the league.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
So lockets up there in ahe Dan Moore, I think
is twenty eight, Kevin Zeitler's thirty five, Van Jefferson late twenties.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I don't know it.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
It's tough because we've now covered more than half of
the league, right, yes, and a.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Lot of that was like, hey, new situation on this team.
It's kind of set up. They did a good job
setting this up for a foundation to find out this
for like a.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Building year this year and it'll seem like it's in
a good place and get better for next year and
find out more things. And I don't really know how
to feel about this team, if I'm gonna be honest
with you, they went three and fourteen.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Like you said last year, I did say the expectation
of I don't know what the team could do last year.
Going to the twenty twenty four. It could be anything.
It could be from a number one pick to a
playoff team maybe winning the division. Obviously, we struck gold
in the one pick because you know, we laid every
single scenario on the line. But I think cam Ward's
going into a good situation. Brian Callahan has been comparing

(06:37):
him to Joe Burrow, especially in like the youthful years
of Burrough, so acl early on he compared him to that.
So he sees comparisons obviously of experienced receiving corps. Tyler
Lockett obviously has caught boss from Russell Wilson, Gino Smith,
so he's been around there. He's been around, you know,
guys like DK Metcalf, Doug Baldwin, Jimmy Grant for a

(06:58):
little bit up there in Seattle. Then you have, you know,
a lot of youth on the offensive line that took J. C.
Latham in the top ten last year, Dan Moore who
honestly he had an okay year last year. So paying
them a lot of money is a little concerning for me.
But Zeigler, he's still a proven starter. Devin Lloyd Cushionberry

(07:19):
still a proven starter. I mean, they're kind of I
don't really know which way they're following, but you know,
Tony Poller another year removed from that leg injury, so
he's kind of I think he's getting the confidence back.
Taji Spears was expected to take a big leap this year,
and also Chiga Quonkwo. I think he's gonna be a
nice deep threat there for fantasy football users moving forward.

(07:43):
So there is some valuable pieces to look forward there.
I think there might be some growing pains, but I
think they might be in good hands with Callahan.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Now was pill Lo is not on this team anymore.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
He's on IR so he's already out for the entire
He had that shoulder injury, you know, against Miami last year,
and yeah, so obviously they don't have him on there.
It doesn't take up a roster spot. They did cut
Tim Boyle after his preseason performance, so but you know,
Trevor Simeon takes over a QB three role.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I don't know, man, It's tough because I don't think
Tony Poler did spectacular last year. So it's like, I
don't feel like the running game is like great. They
can't really. I don't think it's something they just fall
back on.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
I don't know. I feel like this is going to
be a sub.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
There's gonna be growing pains with this team.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yeah, I feel like it'll be a sub six win year. Still,
I feel like it's.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Is playing Hammore's gonna be playing with a chip on
his shoulder because like no one talks about him and
it's always Oh, Travis Hunter, he went behind them. Oh
Jackson Dart. Look at Jackson Dart like he's still not
even talked about. Like, I don't even know if a
lot of these people are gonna be And you know,
I got Zulu in the chat here he says, Nashville,
you are on the clock Titans in twenty twenty five.

(09:08):
A lot of crying emoji's. Yeah, I mean, oh, we
got some comments too on YouTube.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
What do we got?

Speaker 1 (09:15):
We got cam here, buns, cam ordating anything special? He
quit the pop tarts actually on my thing right there.
I still haven't put it away from Steves, but we'll
be joining. Oh no, it's Jake. Why did I say Cam?
That's mine? Bad?

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Well, I mean both Philly fans, so.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Both Philly fans, A lot of Philly go birds. Shall
we move over to the defensive side of the football.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, I don't real fast.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Nick Foles the offensive coordinator of this team.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
I don't know his resume at all. Does he have
much of a resume?

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Which which person? I'm sorry, I just read a TikTok
comment and just really threw me off here. I'm not
even gonna read it out loud.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
I mean, I tell you what, So the offensive coordinator
for this team, nick holes It doesn't have a very
exciting resume. Actually, dare I say, doesn't really have that
good of a resume.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I don't know. This is tough, man.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
It's a growing paint. It's a growing pains on offense.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I have a hard time having a lot of hope
for this team and this offense and saying that they
will be improved and know their future after this year.
So that's that's tough season. Tough season. But yeah, let's
get to the defense.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Let's go to the defensive side here where yeah, a
lot of stuff went down last year. Defense didn't really
look all that good. So Javier Woods, the former Cowboys safety,
Carolina Panther safety, he comes in, lugerious sneid. I mean,
the A was traded two years ago, so that's not
really a whole lot of stuff to talk about. But
Draymond Jones from the Seahawks, Cody Barton, Jihad Ward from

(11:06):
the Vikings. If you remember the infamous Hard Knocks clip
of him telling him Aaron Rodgers, I don't even know
who you are, Bro, I don't know who you are, bro.
Funny Tammy Horne from the Giant, Giant, Carlos Watkins. But
I think you gotta highlight the defensive front there with
a Sebastian, Joseph Day, Tavean Sweat, Devandre Sweat, my bad

(11:28):
Jeffrey Simmons, and Arden Key. Another year with the same
rotation there, I think it could be pretty good for
the Titans, at least having consistency there for the defensive front.
But Jarvis Browne Junior, he was making some sound waves
at corner last year. Roger mccrurry, I think he's gonna
have a really good year this year, contract year, so

(11:49):
expect him to make a lot of noise. And they
also re signed Quandre Diggs right before training camp or
really early in the training camp. But yeah, obviously this
defense I think might be in the middle of the road,
maybe a little bit less the middle of the road,
but I think this defensive front, if there could be

(12:09):
anything that goes on the defensive front is going to
be causing a lot of disruptions for whoever they're going
to be facing. But veteran guy like Jeffery Simmons, who's
been at all the bad, the ugly, all the way
to the AC Championship game to the lows of you know,
vraybel and last year, he's been on both sides of
that spectrum there.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
So well, yeah, I mean, I tell you what, the
Titans allowed the second to least average yards per game
last year, so like there's that. They did allow quite

(12:49):
a bit of touchdowns, actually some of the most touchdowns
in the league, So despite the yards not being much,
they allowed a lot of touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, I can't imagine.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's a growing it's a growing Paints team.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Again, I really don't know how this team will be
any better than last year.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
And they also rotated out their GM. They brought in
a new GM, so it's the GM that was before
them fired, I mean, one of his own guy. The
GM then gets fired, so it's like we're gonna it's
a I don't know at what point it was exciting
to watch Titans football and now it's kind of like,
what's gonna be going on here.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
At one point? You're not wrong, I don't. I don't
even all right.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I mean, like this defensive coordinator is much better. He's
actually been a coach on actually some great defensive teams.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
So okay, like I don't know, let's go to the schedule, yeah, dude.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
So we can figure out a little bit more of there.
But uh, the late window is the debut of cam
Moore as they go into Denver. They have four late
window games. No Thursday night football this year. I do
not believe. I skimmed it pretty quickly. So yeah, I
don't know. It's it's tough, man. I can at a

(14:25):
high six and I think it's a generous six three
and fourteen and twenty twenty four. So it's a lot
of growing pains there for the Titans.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
I mean, I've like four winds going into the by
four or five wins going into.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
The bye max, and then.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
After the bye I can really only squeeze out like.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Yeah, I mean like six or seven wins is like
hopeful as hell.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Yeah, So.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
It's tough season. Man, I don't really know. I don't know,
and I the question is what makes this team successful
after this year?

Speaker 3 (15:20):
I don't really know. I guess I.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Think this is their last year in their stadium, So
why don't you just have the stadium go out with
a bang, and you know, just build something new for
the new stadium. Stadium's not even that old. It's like
twenty five years old, and it's somehow falling apart more
than like half of these other stadiums.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
It. I guess you just kind of play this year out, man,
get get some ye, some experience under the belt of
cam Ward. I guess that's got to be your future quarterback, right,
So get some experience under under cam Ward.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Hope.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
It's tough that he You can win a tough game
or two, and you go into the next offseason.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
I guess if this is your last season in the stadium, I.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Guess you try to kind of it might be a
good rebranding, retooling time for.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
The team top to bottom in the next season. Like
that might be cool.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Yeah, I got nothing else. Just go out with a bang,
send Nissan Stadium, well, Nissan Senior out of the bank
so Nissan Junior can start winning.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Yeah, that's your that's your the best you got.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
All right, let's move on here. Let's go down to
do b We're gonna have to do it. Don We're
gonna be going back on Cameron to say it. But
a year ago, the Titans, Titans, the Jaguars really fell apart.
End of twenty twenty three at one point where the
one seed collapsed last year really wasn't that good. Doug

(17:06):
Peterson ends up getting fired. Trevor Lawrence got hurt. Mac
Jones saw it. There was some bright spots. There were
a lot of bright spots on this team, but obviously
a lot of negative outweighed the good. The Jaguars ended
up trading up three spots and the future first round
pick to get a choir My Bad, the Heisman Trophy

(17:27):
winner and Travis Hunter, the two way player who's trying
to be the first two way players all the way
back in the sixties where a lot of these players
are playing two way and he's looking to turn the tide.
With Liam Cohen at the helm.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Do.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Gotta do it, Dom, come on, come on, you gotta
do it.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Do do a.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Gotta do the eyebrown the entire thing there. Ah, all right,
let's go into the offense here. Trevor Lawrence healthy supposedly,
so that's good coming off of a very bad hit
from Aziz al Shire against the Texans late into the
season last year. But they bring in Nick Mullens, who
is a veteran that's been all around the world throwing

(18:13):
everything fore headed running back monster. Apparently these guys are
all going to be getting reps at one point. So yeah,
pick your poison, which running back you want to face,
whether it's ETN Tank Bigsby by Seayl Touton, And then
like Quint Allen Jr. They revamped the entire receiving cord.
Gabe Davis no longer there, Devin Duvernet no longer there.

(18:33):
They bring in Diami Brown from the Washington Commanders, Trenton Irwin,
who's been kind of floating around since the Bengals have
cut him a couple of seasons ago. Travis Hunter, now
listad as the slack guy. Didn't have the most positive
outcome well introduction to the league, but he's looking to
make some sound waves. They do revamp the offensive line
just a little bit. Patrick mckarey from Baltimore and then

(18:55):
Robert Hansey from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Also some other
depth pieces as well. They do trade away Cam Robinson
last season to the Vikings, who now has become back
in the division. There dom is there hope for this offense?
Do you have any hope new tight end room? Evan

(19:16):
Ingram no longer there, he's up in Denver, but Breton
Strange tight end one. And then Johnny Munt Hunter Long
who was in that Geleen Ramsey trade, Quentin Morris who
had a little bit of sound waves with Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I don't know, dude, It's uh. I'd like to say
it looks like they have a decent roster to work
with every season now and then they kind fall a
little bit on their face at times. I mean, Trevor
Lawrence has only had like one really solid extended run

(19:53):
in his career and that didn't really result in too
much anyway.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
You had a name, Yeah, twenty seven point comeback, then
unfortunately lost against the Chiefs with Mahomes injury.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
So yeah, I like they're running games good. That's cool.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
I don't know. I'm over the ETN experience. Tink Bigsby
was good last year. I'm over it. It's a it's whatever,
Like Tank Bigsby was really cool. But now it's like
you're gonna get these other guys in rotating them through
and it's like okay, like you can trade away each yeah,
and you have a little bit of value there. He
can acquire some draft capital because obviously I don't think
they're gonna be resigning him.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, go out and get James Cook or something. Cool, dude,
do something.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
No James Cook up resigned. He's good.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Oh he finally did.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Dude, you were sleeping when this happened. I was awake
from the night out of the group.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
That's all that.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Now. I'm just saying, like, trade him away, get some
assets and know the Cowboys are apparently looking for a
running back, you could maybe trade them up to the
Vikings that they're have any draft capital up to think
they only got like a one and a five coming
up this year. But find the draft capital for you know,
etn and then just go with the guys that you're
paying you know, pennies on the dollar for This is.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Like the most average team ever every year. Like it's
just made.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Like like the Trevor Lawrence thing is crazy because you're
you're like, hey, there's this raw talent dude with the
hair who looks like a freaking superhero, and then they
just like don't really do anything exciting ever, I don't know, dude. Again,

(21:34):
the running game is good, that's fine, Tank Tank, Bigsby's good,
Etn's been good when he's been good, like, but that's.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Not winning new games and the.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
People that should be winning new games really aren't doing
it either that much. It's just average a hell, it's
not an exciting experiment or experience for Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
So, like, I don't know, there's a lot of names
on here. Maybe the Travis Hunter thing. Maybe the Travis
Hunter thing like adds some excitement. Maybe I think.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
It's exciting, Like, Okay, we haven't seen a guy play
like two ways, Like yeah, yeah, Edelman do it with
the Patriots a little bit, but like also Edlman's trying
to find ways to make the team. He just playing
linebacker and all that stuff. Corner a little bit goes
to the offense plays a little bit of a offense.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
You have receiver, yeah, dude, whatever it Well, well, I
can't imagine we see really anything different out of this
team and this offense.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
That's the hard part to say, Like this is a lot.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Of changes a lot of stuff on here, a lot
of different colors you're seeing on the screen. I don't
know if it equates to really much of anything. Maybe
you get a player or two out of Travis Hunter
sometimes and that's sick, but that might be it.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Like it still might not equate to wins.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
So I don't know, dude, that shipped over to the
defensive side of the ball. Here where look at that
Travis Hunter, their first round pick cornerback. He's doing it
all all over the place. It was like, we just
talked about him on offense, but yeah, defense, it really
wasn't that spectacular. Last year, they bring in Eric Murray

(23:21):
from the Texans, Jordan Lewis from the Cowboys to want
smooth returns after a very long hiatus, Manuel Agba from
just up the just from South Beach, he went all
the way up. I mean, yeah, I'm trying to get
excited for this team and it's just kind of like
hard for me. Like you bring in Dennis Gardick and

(23:44):
he was fun on the Cardinals. He obviously didn't really
pan out for them last like two years, but you know,
he was fun, Like early on, he really made a
lot of sound waves with him and Zach Allen, and
Zach Allen moves on, and yeah, there's a lot of
they have a lot of like in house pieces, Devon Hamilton,
Trevion Walker, Josh heinz Allen, Devin Lloyd, Like they have

(24:06):
a lot of pieces that stayed in house, Like Darnell Savage.
You know, he came in. He was making a little
bit of good plays last year. It's just hard for
me trying to get excited for this team. I really,
I'm trying.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
So this defense was.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
The thirty first last year, and yards per game allowed,
they were somewhere halfway, like somewhere in the back sixteen
of touchdowns allowed. So this wasn't that really that good
of a defense either. Like you said, it's so difficult
to get excited.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
I don't want to offend Jaguars fans, I really don't,
but I just can't get excited. I own a blow,
I own a Blake Bortls Jersey behind me, I own one. Okay,
I owned the boat. The greatest quarterback to ever play
for the Jaguars, Okay. But it's just it's just so difficult.
It's just really difficult for me to get excited for
the Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
This is the fucking.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Don't care, Like there could be there could be a world,
a world where this team could finish last and the
Titans finished third. I'm like, I'm I'm trying to get excited. Obviously,
you know, we've had weird head coaching hires like Dan Campbell,
like we're gonna rip a femur off, We're gonna know
on their kneecaps, bite it off, and okay, they turned around.
Maybe Liam Cohen with the weird come on you do

(25:23):
you know, maybe the weird tick works and he can
turn the tides in be a great head coach. Like, listen,
the jet the Buccaneers go through freaking I don't know,
offensive coordinators like it is a revolving door, like there's
always someone in it and they always get shot out.
There's always someone in the helm there for them to
go through. So obviously, hey, if you're a Buccaneer's offensive coordinator,

(25:46):
you're guaranteed a coaching job within a season. So we
have that. But obviously this is the Jaguars. I'm kind
of done with this. I want to move on to
the schedule. This is my favorite looking schedule that I've found,
so far because it's actually like detailed, it's in depth
every thing home and away. Even though there's the old
logos and new logos and this and.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
That, it's not exciting per se.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
I got I got off some like news site. So
it's not like the actual Jaguars like posting this. It
was like, you know, this actually looks not half bad.
But the season does open up against the Panthers. Forever
whatever reason, every couple of years it's always the Panthers
and the Jaguars opening up the season either at depending
on whoever's home opener there is. But yeah, I'm just,

(26:31):
oh my god, dude, I I really, I I'm just
it's so difficult for me to get excited. It's it sucks.
Like I before they go to London, I think they
can pull off maybe one or two wins. I just
if they could start out to and O, but then
they could fall two and five. I I just you know,

(26:53):
you don't know what you're gonna get the Panthers. Panthers
obviously finished hot last year, like that was great for them.
I don't know what you're gonna get. Can the has
Street could take you for them? Will the Bengals be
slumpy or are they going to be playing the entire
preseason to get their heads out their asses. Let's you
don't really know what's gonna be going on there with
Zach Taylor. And then you got the Texans. They obviously
play really hard against the Niners. I don't know, you

(27:16):
don't know what you're gonna get with the Niners this year.
And as the Chiefs, I think they got the Chiefs
at home at least, so that's a pretty good one.
And then the Seahawks and the good to one. I
just I can't get excited for this schedule. I really can't.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
I have a hard time trying to give them six wins.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I have a tough time giving them anything more than
like four wins.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
I know, like they could probably don't.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Know, to start the season and then win their last
two games, Like that's what I think could happen.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
I don't know, I mean a bye weekend, then the
Raiders maybe they could win.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
I don't know. Raiders on Route on the road. I
mean they did play them well last year. I don't
even I don't remember that game because it was like
Mac Jones and I don't even know Desmond Ritter. I
think was the quarterback. So it was just like, yeah,
let's just turn it off. Let's you know, it's enough
football for the deck.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
That The one thing with this team is you need
something to get excited about, dude. You need a head
coach that comes in and O see whatever, just something
that makes makes this team play exciting football. I there's
nothing that I look forward to on this schedule for

(28:29):
this team.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
It's not like a new quarterback.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
It's just the middest quarterback in the league. That's just
is he gonna play bad? Not always, he'll play pretty good.
Will he be so spectacular? It's must watch football like never.
I don't know, dude, whatever I did. Like you said,

(28:53):
I think the best way to put this is this
really could be.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
I think there is the worst team I mean the league.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Well ship, they could be competing.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
This could be the.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Losing team in the division. It's really tough. What makes
this a good and that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
What makes it successful is I don't know. Some sparks.
Prove me wrong. I have that will make it successful. Here.
I will go back and you know, rewatch this and
be like, Okay, I was wrong, make it prove me wrong.
That's what's gonna make the season successful. Yeah, I don't
want I don't want to be offending to Jaguars fings,
but like, I just can't get excited.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
This being a successful season is like pushing towards playoffs
because everything else is a step backwards.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
I don't really know.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Whatever unproven head coach, like you just got all this stuff.
It's like, yeah, it's like, let's yeah, all right, let's uh.
I usually want to talk about like hyping the teams
up and all that stuff, but obviously you got to mention,
you know, jim orsday pass away right before Memorial Day,
right after the spring league meetings for the NFL very tough,

(30:06):
just very tough for Colts fans and just the NFL
in general. Like he was a larger than life person. Obviously,
he lived a life and that's the best thing you
could say about him. So obviously with him bringing the
Colts to Indianapolis, making Indianapolis a football town, the whole
ten yards, and you know, I don't really know what

(30:26):
the right words are to say for the Colts, but yeah,
it's it's a very tough break for the Colts. Obviously,
his daughters are taking over the ownership all three of them,
So they're gonna be trying to turn the tide to
the football realm, which they've been trying to turn. They've
been trying to find that guy that peace ever since
Andrew Luck retired. So obviously the two people pictured here,

(30:47):
Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones, are looking to become a
quarterback one in some realm, some way, shape or form
for the Indianapolis Colts. As we had an to the
offense here, a lot of uh yeah, just there's not
really a whole lot of change here, but obviously the
quarterback battle Daniel Jones Anthony Richardson. Daniel Jones is supposed

(31:10):
to play the second week of the preseason like a
quarter and a half, but with Anthony Richardson's injury, he's
now starting, and obviously it's cutting down the time. So
it's a lot of questions here. Let me get back
out here, dom I got a Colts fan page thing
eleven and six with Anthony Richardson, like, let me, let

(31:30):
me let me finish my spiel really quick here. But
obviously they get the best tight end of the draft
Tyler Warren. Obviously there's no way, shape or form me
should have fell to them. The Bears are stupid to
take Loveland over him. So he's gonna have an eruption
of the year. Jonathan good Jonathan good one yet Jonathan
Taylor my bad. Yeah, he's still a stud. They'd ended
up losing their center and the right guard. They both

(31:51):
held hands and went up to Minnesota to be on
the Vikings. They really didn't go after all that much.
Bernard Raymond got a big the extension four years and
one hundred million dollars, So twenty five million dollars of year,
middle of the road. It's not that much. But yeah,
obviously the thing of the Indianapolis Colts is the quarterback

(32:13):
battle here between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I mean also, this team is built around this run
game of Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Honestly, I've loved Khalil Herbert. So that's cool.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Is that your guy right there? DJ Giddens, Yeah, k State.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Like this is cool. It's it's the team that we
saw last year.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Actually, except like Anthony Richardson goes down because historically he will,
And I don't really think Danil Jones is the worst option.
I think he's a competent quarterback.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
He looks good.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
He looked good against the Ravens. He didn't look bad
at all.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Like, like, I don't think he's that bad.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
There's a lot of pieces here. There really is, Like, yeah,
this is like not a bad team, dude.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
This this is a contesting team.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Jonathan Taylor makes this a contesting team.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
The offensive line is cool.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Seven and ten with Indiana Jones. I think we were
joking about that back and much. Oh Indiana Jones one year,
sixteen million dollar deal, So like, obviously he's trying to
compete and be a starter. Again. The Richardson experience obviously
has it.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
What is he still making that Giants money?

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Oh yeah, Like he has a little bit of money
that was left over because the Giants cut him before
the end of the season. So wow, yeah it's a
little bit. It's not like a whole lot. It was
no money after the second year. So like, dude, I
think you were more successful with Daniel Jones and they're
center than you are Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Mitchell's a great receiver like they have, and he's young.
They have people on this team.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Man, this is like really not a bad built team.
Jonathan Taylor can take a lot of snaps to like
and execute.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
You see those big.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Runs that he gets and explodes for like once or
twice a game. Even consistently, he is one of the
best rushers in the league.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Yeah, this is not a bad team. This is a
team that I think the can playoff.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Yeah, I agree with you. Colts Fan ten and seven
with Riley Leonard at quarterback, here we go. This is now.
This is a man. Now, this is a man who
knows sports.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
He's say seven and ten ten with Indiana Jones. Yeah, okay,
what about Jason Bean?

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Here? Can Jason? Can they bring four quarterbacks into the roster?
Jason Bean? You know obviously I should I want a
jersey that just Bean? Why wearing twelve? Oh, that's a
disrespectful to Andrew Luck.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Tell you what that picture that you you know, I'm
just gonna throw it right back. This picture, Oh, this
picture just makes him look like Ryan Tannehill with that
number seventeen.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
I don't know why. All I see is Ryan Tannehill
standing in the back seventeen.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
To know what Jason Bean see? This man knows ball.
This man is a sports enthusiast. He has all the
knowledge in the world. Let's go into the defense here
where ah, there we go. The cornerbacks, the safeties, the
defensive back say, it was just it's been brutal the
last couple of years for them. Obviously, depth has always

(35:40):
been an issue, especially the last couple of years. But
they bring in a travarious ward from the forty nine ers.
They bring in one of the best UH celebration people
in camp, buying them who just playmaker all around with
this last couple of years with the Minnesota Vikings. But hey,
Kenny Moore, he'd get that little he got that nice
little extension there, ten million dollars. He's due for another

(36:01):
payday coming up soon. Juju Benz, he's still making his
way around. Nick Cross also another dog go terps Rodney Thomas,
still Jalen Jones. They bring in Eric Johnson, the second
in back in I don't even know the Neville Gallimore
from the Rams, but I think what's really strengthful for
this team, Just like I said with the Tennessee Titans,

(36:23):
it's that front core. It's those guys who are gonna
get after the quarterback. Quitty Pay, Grover Street, the Forest Buckner,
Leatu Latu, These guys being there for another year, I
think really can be the cement, the glue to this
defense and get you know, kind of everyone on page,
Like these guys could do their job and they could

(36:44):
go after the quarterback. It's just what about the other
seven guys? The other eight guys, depending on what scheme
you want to be going, you're gonna have three going in,
four going in, Like who are there? Who are those
guys going to be that could stop the football if
it's passed over these guys as what the Colts fans said,
one of the best defensive lines in the league, and
I have to agree, like this is a very good

(37:04):
defensive front.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Yeah, I mean it really is. This is it's been
consistently pretty solid year to year or two because a
lot of these guys have been here.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
No, yeah, Grover Street's been there. He's been there from
the highs of the Andrew Luck times to loaws of
like Jacoby Burssett and just like all like the miserable
ness going on there, uh Zay or Franklin still there
like you have you have people that have been there
from the highs and they've been there for the lows, Like.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Yeah, it's a good it's it is a good.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
I still think they could make another move to get
more depth in the cornerback spot because it just seems
like by week seven, it's like four active corners, five
active corners, and it's like, obviously, you know you're not
gonna be rotating through corners. Obviously you want to be
on the field. You're gonna be you know, out there
on the field, you're gonna play exhausted. But it's like
injuries really have piled up for the especially in that secondary,
for couple of years.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
Yeah, I mean I I still don't think it's too
too bad either though, Like this is the maybe the
weakest spot on the team, and that's not too too bad.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
It is.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
It's solid. I mean, it's a solid team. I didn't
do that well last year.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Actually, no, I wasn't really a I mean I started
the week seventeen thinking, oh, I could win you know,
the championship negatives eight points to the New York Giants
with Drew Locker. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Yeah, that's kind of rough.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
It was terrible, all right, schedule time big one week
one obviously a healthy two is gonna be pretty Excuse me,
I'm pretty good there for Dolphins, but also the Colts.
How are they gonna fair then? Obviously the Broncos coming
to town week two. A lot of back and forth,
lot to two and then one one one and then

(38:56):
two two one one one, like all that stuff. Twenty
six to twenty Colts win Week one. I can honestly
go with it. I could go with it, but man,
I don't know. I think they get I think they
could get up it. Just it really falls on the
quarterback spot. It really is. It's like, Okay, who are
you gonna have there at quarterback? Is it gonna be

(39:17):
Daniel Jones, Is it gonna be Anthony Richardson, gonna be
a wild card in Riley Leonard? Just yeah, you get
to go to Germany. It's cool, Like I consider it
a primetime game. You have another primetime game with the
forty nine ers unless gets flexed out for whatever reason.
But a lot of four o'clocks, a lot of four
to twenty five games.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Yeah, I'm sitting around eight or nine.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Maybe I'm saying nine nine and a half.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Okay, you know, we didn't look at the sportsbook stuff
for the other two teams either.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Hope, we just got to start with this team, we're
way past them. We gotta start.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
I will say, Tennessee, they have them where we said
they do have the Jags just miraclely miraculously with eight wins.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
So there's that.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
I'll take the under on that, like twenty four to seven,
and then they have the Colts at like seven and
a half ish wins.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
The number will change it once, like here's your quarterback
one for week one, Like obviously that number will change.
But I just it's so hard to like figure it
out because like Anthony Richman has such raw talent, you know, runner,
he could throw the football, but it's just like using
his head just all that stuff just kind of like
so tough to figure out. Like they had success with

(40:39):
Minshew a couple of years ago. I'm surprised they didn't
try to bring a him back. They were a fourth
down away from potentially going to the playoffs and hosting
a playoff game, which they haven't been to the playoffs
since Andrew Luck in his last year starting.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
They've really been in quarterback hell since Andrew Luck retired.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
I don't think it's quarterback hell, it's quarterback.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Yeah, kinda, you're right.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Olts fan here breaking News three and fourteen, Titans six
and eleven, Texans nine and eight, Jags in eleven. How
do you have the I'm not even mad that you
have the Textans that lobe, but the Jags at nine
and eight? What are you doing? That's what I'm more
mad about.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
And again, we have this division that barely even sneaks
into the playoffs and it sucks.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
No one wants to watch it. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
This team's more exciting than other teams that we've talked
about so far, So.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Like, I like it.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
There's there's more hope with this team, much more at
a and nine last year, like they can obviously turn
the tide.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
It's more watchable, like yeah, and I would say that
the offense improved from last year and the defense didn't
really change.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
So that kind of to me says like, hey.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
Maybe we can have a nine win season sneak into
that seventh spot.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Maybe I think they could.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
They could be a sneak, Like this could be a
team that you can be like, Okay, hey they could
sneak in. I think you and I picked them as
like that little like haven't seed, Like hey, they could
like you know, hover in.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
That would be a successful season.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
To me, they sneak in playoffs, that would be or
at least just push up until week eighteen.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
You do that, and I'm like, all right, this team's competing.
They're there.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
They kind of should be. This is a good offense.
They have people on this offense. They have good weapons.
Jonathan Taylor, what he didn't play until week six six
last year?

Speaker 3 (42:25):
Right?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
I think it was like week five, week five whatever
six draft pick by.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Me than what he had that injury or whatever.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
No, he wasn't he holding out?

Speaker 1 (42:36):
No? I think it was an injury because he held
out in training camp. Then he got his money and
all that stuff. Then maybe I think he could have
been like a pup thing a pity.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
No, wait hmm, are you sure it wasn't holding out.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
I don't think it was holding out. I think he
might have had like a weird injury or whatever in
like training camp. But it was like my but they
want to like hold them out just to be sure,
I mean either way or whatever or No, what was
that two years ago? Zach Moss had like yeah, that
was twenty twenty three.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, want to say the Jonathan Taylor I think was
like a whole that situation. But either way he plays
from week one this season, this is a competitive team.
You can't you can't just discount this team and say,
you know, it's if South whatever, no one cares.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
I think this is a competitive team no matter, no
matter either of the quarterbacks that are in.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
You know, if Anthony Richard sin is in, he is
still an explosive quarterback. You see the deep balls that
he's hit.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
You see when he does launch, he's substantial, like he's
a stamp, substantially good runner, gets the ball in the
end zone.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Like that's not it's not an impossible thing.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
But yeah, you know, and if Daniel Jones is in,
you're gonna see I think, decently consistent play. There's weapons
on this team, an offensive line that'll actually keep him
up for the majority of the time this time, and
a run of games. So like, I don't know, yeah,
it's a consistently solid team. It's a competitive team.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Well, this team successful though, Like.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
I said, I think just making it pushing to playoffs
week eighteen, or making it in as like that seventh
seed whatever, making it in.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
Playoffs, I think is all you can really ask for.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
And I think that's like, all right, cool, sick, good season,
like we built I'm okay with that.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Colts fan dropped it, says ar five. Three thousand passing yards,
three hundred rushing yards, twenty nine passing touchdowns, nineteen interceptions
with six rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
That was kind of a realistic stat line.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
He could do that. But it's like, what's gonna make
this team successful is just finding the quarterback. Like Stikin's
chair is getting hot. It's hot. I wouldn't be surprised
if he could be the first coach out like it's
it's high, Like there's just not been anything there. So yeah,
that's what I have going on there. We want to

(45:07):
get the wheel ready and we can. Uh, we need
a hundred slices on their domb Oh, I want one hundred.
I want fifty of each thing. I don't want to
see where this thing's landing on until it pops up
on the screen. All right, deal, So while you're doing that,
I will adjust us for this and I will click that.

(45:27):
So the Houston Texans a year ago they bring in
Steffan Diggs. They have all these exciting pieces. Nico Collins
and the c. J. Straut experience great connection UH Tank
Dallas also exploiting onto the scene. They bring in Joe
mix In. They have all these good pieces. It was
a very weird season for the Houston Texans, say the least,
a lot of ups and downs. They squeeze into the

(45:49):
playoffs though number four seed AFC South champions winning their
game against UH. I mean, I don't even know who
they facing the playoffs now, I'm drawing a blank.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Do you remember.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
So if Steelers Broncos, Wilders, it was the Chargers. Yeah,
Chargers imploded Texans and their four thirty PM slot on Saturdays.
As always, they find their way through. They go through,
go to the Chiefs. Obviously fell short against the Chiefs. Obviously,
depending on who you called for, they could say something's
going on with it the whole ten yards. But the

(46:23):
third year Cedar Stratt, following his sophomore slump last year,
he's looking to make some sound waves and be the
quarterback the Texans envision them to be. To the offense,
a lot of new faces, new places. They trade Larry
met until they ship them up to the NFC East
the Commanders. Kenyon Green goes to the Philadelphia Eagles in

(46:45):
exchange for CJ. Gardner Johnson, who will talk about in
a couple of minutes. A lot of new pieces. Tank
Dell obviously saw in the depth chart. I don't think
he ends up playing this year. Very unfortunate knee injury
a couple of days before Christmas. Ended up seeing in
Kansas City for a little bit recovering from surgery. Just
an absolute explosion of that knee. But they do draft

(47:07):
Jaden Higgins from Iowa State. They trade a seventh round
pick for Christian Wak Christian Kirk. Oh, my lord, I
had a will moment there. Jalen Nolan around three. Justin Watson,
who you know from the Chiefs made some explosive plays
as like that tight end to wide receiver five kind
of deal. But they revamped the offensive line after ended

(47:29):
up shipping everyone away Cam Robinson like at Tomlinson. They
acquire a new right tackle in the draft, Joe Mixon
dealing with a foot injury. So obviously there's a lot
of a lot of not positive news there for Joe
Mixon and the Joe Mixon camp. But they do get

(47:50):
Nick Chubb, who, hey, if Joe Mixic can't go through
Nick Chubkins slide in, do all that stuff. They really
replenished the offensive line. Trent Brown comes in from Cincinnati,
really depthful pieces. Jake Andrews from the Patriots. They trade
for Ed Ingram from the Minnesota Vikings. I'm excited for

(48:10):
this offense. I am two full backs. Obviously one person
not gonna make it Beck Beck their fullback. He ended
up going to the Jets, So trying to refine the
replacement there at a full back?

Speaker 3 (48:28):
Tell you what for a team, I don't this is
kind of wild. I don't know what to say.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
So right, we got what we got last year after saying, damn,
like this is.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
Gonna be such an elite team. Look what CJ. Stroud
did in just his rookie season.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Like I invested way too much into them because I
said that he would be like elite and they would
be sick and they'd be a top fource. We got
nothing of what we got from his rookie season. That
was really tough, and we can say we could. We've
been actually we've been just summing it up as like

(49:10):
sophomore stamp excuse no, like yeah, sophomore thomp whatever.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
He's fine. I don't know though, because what happens if
they come out and it's.

Speaker 1 (49:22):
They fired the offensive coordinator after two years. I I
it was kind of a shock because like guy got
head coaching interviews with the Commanders and the Jets and
like all that stuff, and it just like they just
outright dropped them. And Demiko Ryan's starting from scratch at
the offensive side. But there is a lot of good
hope there for Jayden Higgins. He's been making a lot

(49:44):
of plays in training camp, a lot of good positive eyes.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
Yeah, I mean this is a good offense, dude.

Speaker 1 (49:53):
I just don't like the complete overhaul of this offensive line.
Like Straut was killed last year and they just decided, yeah,
we're gonna trade away tunsl who's like our best piece,
ended up you know, fleecing the Dolphins for him, and
then they just end up redoing everything. Yeah, here you
go see J's draft. Four thousand passing yards, twenty five touchdowns,

(50:13):
thirteen nineties, two hundred rushing yards and two touchdowns. I
I I'm okay with that. I vibe. I vibe with it.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
I think Nick Chubb being there, it's cool, like even
if they get extremely average Nick Chubb, it's still a
good run game. That's something that they could rely on.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
That's cool?

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Wow is oh yeah, all right, Damian Pierce is still there,
so like they have Damian Pierce though they really yeah,
they have guys there. Uh this is a deep wide
receiver room which we saw last year didn't mean shit.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
I want to see I want to see John Metchi, Like,
let's get him like involved, like you know, second round
pick a lot of hype. Obviously the cancer thing. He
came back, and you know, I would love to see
a good part of the story where it's like, okay,
hey he could be a wide receiver too, maybe he
could be the slot guy on this team. Like I
want to I want to see a good story with him.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
I agree, And like there's dudes everywhere.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
Irv Smith Junior as the third string tight end is
pretty solid, Like.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
There's uh so it's well it's a third string I.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Mean, I mean yeah, I mean Brevin Jordan. I didn't
update this one, but Brevin Jordan I are knee injury.
So he's out for the entire year. But hey, Kate's over.
Let's not forget he massages the cows. Don't see that
joke again, dum like you did last year.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
I don't remember what I said last year.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
No, not the only massage that happened in Houston.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
That's funny, Yeah, because what happens. So if they come
out and they're not good, they're not up to what
we saw his rookie year.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
Does Damiko ryans? Is he now in the hot seat? No?

Speaker 1 (51:59):
I don't think he's on the hot seat obviously, Like
you made the playoffs two years in a row, you
won playoff games at home, so it's like you're not
really on the hot seat. But it's like, okay, like
you gotta figure out. Okay, is it an offensive scheme
with Stroud or is it just Stroud himself that is
like the down the the degrading of play.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
Okay, yeah, I mean if you don't think he's gonna
be in the hot seat, I'm okay.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
Okay, Like obviously obviously that would have to be like
an ownership thing or a GM thing from Casario being
like okay, like that, you know, this guy gotta go
what slowick? I think that the offensive guy of last year.
So they hey, like that had been like an ownership thing,
a GM thing, So like these were all his guys
and they were probably all a part like the Niners crew.

(52:41):
So let's uh, I'm gonna shift us over to the
defensive side of the football. Oh, that's the schedule side.
There's the defensive side. As we mentioned before, uh CJ
Gardner Johnson, he did have a knee injury. It was
thought to be a torn acl and ends up not
He could be on his way to play Week one.
Jimmy Ward's dealing with injury. They bring in Jalen Mills

(53:03):
to kind of bolster that safety tandem. Uh they ah Man,
I don't really know. Jalen Petrie's still there, Lastinger is
still there. Derek Stingley, he you know, he's making the
big money there from that twenty twenty two draft class.
Uh Man, Henry to Toe, I'm just trying to get excited, man, Like,

(53:27):
I don't know. There's just something about this defense that's
just not sitting great with me. And I can't put
a finger on it. I really can't. Like. Yeah, Danil
Hunter he got another extension with the Texans. I think
it's another year, like fully guaranteed. Will Anderson still there.
I don't know. I just I'm trying my hardest. I

(53:48):
can't get I'm trying to get excited. But I just
I really think this could be like a very middle
of the road defense. Nothing'spout out, nothing's popping out with me.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
They did a decent defense last year.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Actually, to be honest, tell you what, man, did they
let up yards in the playoffs?

Speaker 1 (54:15):
That is I mean, listen, when Lad mcconkee gets two
hundred yards receiving against you, obviously you're letting up yards
in the playoffs. But like they still ended up winning.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
Yeah, but they oh wait, sorry, wrong team. That was
the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
All right, they actually did not let up that many yards.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Okay, there we go.

Speaker 3 (54:34):
The Broncos let up four hundred and seventy one. That's crazy, dude.
Now the Texans average like two thirty six. Yeah, I
don't I don't know. Cool. This will be like a
you would think this is a decent defense. That's the
issue is you would think and then they they're not

(54:55):
like top ever. But they're not bad. They're not bad. Yeah,
I think they're competent, like this is. They they made
some explosive plays.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
Stingley's great, Petrie was great, Alshear's fantastic. Neil Hunter you
think does a little bit more, But whatever, Obviously Bill
Anderson was great. I don't think Sheldon Rankins is that bad,
so that's solid.

Speaker 1 (55:21):
It's not like Listen, he was okay with the Bengals,
but obviously that Bengals defense was abysmal. So obviously I
think Dimiko Ryan can get a lot more out of them.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
So, hey, what that Jaguars dude on the current roster.
He's not injured, so there's that.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
But yeah, uh yeah, it's wow.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
This one's so much different. Mario Edwards, that's wild.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
Yeah, not a Waivers like m Listen.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
I don't think it's that bad. I really don't, but
I guess we'll see. I don't know. It's really hard
to judge his team, it really is.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
I just can't put my finger on this defense. Like
there's just something that doesn't sit right with me, and
I can't figure it out. I just can't. Let's shift
over final part here, schedule.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
Let's look at the schedule.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
All right. Schedule Week one, obviously the Rams in so
far that is a big battle going against the potentially
Matthew Stafford, maybe Jimmy g who knows what goes on
with the Rams. But then you get home Week two,
Tampa Bay you obviously still have that sour No, you
don't have that sour taste. In Matthew beat Tampa Bay,
Baker Mayfield had a game of his career and then

(56:42):
c J. Strats said, I'm an one up you and
have the best rookie game ever. That's what he did.
Looking through it. Like a lot of playoff teams, you
have you have three before the bye. Then you obviously
are playing a year ago ten win Seahawks team, Niners
team which can probably be going back to their old ways.
But three home games in a row is really good

(57:03):
for you right in the middle of the season. But
primetime Thursday night in Buffalo, right before Thanksgiving, that's gonna
be tough. Chief. Still, I can have I can have
ten wins, but I'm having a really tough time, Yeah,
finding ten.

Speaker 3 (57:23):
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
That's exactly how I feel. That's exactly how I feel.
Is I I'm like hitting a wall trying to find ten,
like legitimate wins.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
But they could do it if they look good.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
Like I really think that Week one game is gonna
mean everything in the world.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
I think they need to come out. I think CJ.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
Stroud needs to ball out that game and be like
I spent the whole offseason hearing sophomore slump and that's
all it was. And I'm back, like, here we are.
They need to show up in that week one game.
That is everything. If they don't show up in that
week one game, I'm like, all right, cool, eight wins.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
I can't We're done here.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
If they show up and see just strap balls out
and it looks like this team is back on track
and it looks like they discounted last year and just
said it was off year. Cool whatever, then man, maybe
you know this is the guaranteed winner of the division
and they put up double digit wins again and we're happy.

(58:29):
But I really do think that Week one game against
the Rams are going to mean everything.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
Well said either Matthew Stafford or Jimmy.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
G And you know what, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter,
It shouldn't matter to them. They just got to win,
that's it. They got to come out play real ball again.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
What will make this team successful.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
I think that we just I think if we could say,
if we could truly say CJ. Stroud had a sophomore
slump and that is all it is, and that's that's
just the excuse for what last season was, and that's that.
If we could put that behind us, because they came
out this year and played better than they ever played

(59:14):
last year, I would call that successful because in turn,
you're gonna get a playoff team out of this.

Speaker 3 (59:19):
This team's gonna compete. Hopefully you win a playoff game.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
But like, as long as we're back on track and
we can look to the year after to say this
is another force in the AFC for years.

Speaker 3 (59:32):
To come, then I think we're back. We're here.

Speaker 2 (59:35):
This is a successful season again, and Jamiica Ryan's third
season on this team is a successful one and we're
just here. So I that's what makes it successful. I
don't really need results. I just need to see the
team we saw CJ.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
Stroud's rookie year.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Yeah, you just gotta see Stroud return the form. Yeah,
fans or buts about.

Speaker 4 (59:57):
It because we were saying, everyone was saying, hey, dude,
this is you got the Chiefs, you got the Bengals,
you got the Texans, you got the like you know,
So you were saying, AFC, here are the Bills, here
are the teams, they are the forces.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
The Texans are now one of them. And then they
came out and played flat last year.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
So if we get back to the notion of this
is an AFC force every year coming up in the
future thing like, then that's that's where we need to be.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
And I think we all want.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
That so damn sight, especially in a really kind of
a stale AFC where we've just kind of been seeing
the same team since COVID started. So it'd be kind
of nice to see the Texans come out and be
a fresh scene or fresh team on the scene again.
I think we'd all be pretty I think the world

(01:00:57):
would be psyched about that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Here we go. That's enough slices.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
And I shuffled them, so whatever order they're in, they
are in. Whatever you ready.

Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
H here we go. See this is exciting stet of
like half like instead of like one half, it's like
this so it's so glitchy, I can't even tell which
one we're landing on here. We don't have to talk
about the West first. I'm so excited.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Yeah, we get to we get to do our favorite
division in the Colton's favorite division, in.

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
The oldest Colton's favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons. Obviously, the
NFC is favorite team in the A f C is
the Baltimore Ravens is just that in a nutshell look
at that. Jeez, Finally we can end this tour. Last
year we did a double episode to begin to begin
the tour, and then we end this year with a episodes.
So what are you doing there?

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
I was gonna try to hide the NFC South, but
I'd have to click them all.

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
I'm looking to do that.

(01:02:33):
YouTube Pretty fun over there. But yeah, next week we
have eight teams and it's gonna take us probably three
hours AD because the Falcons are going to take up
two hours of it, realistically.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
I hope, so, I hope, so, I want nothing more
than that.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
For Colton's sake, it has to.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
I hope they took up two hours and then all
the rest teams combined here a minute, yeah, ten minutes,
be so fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
We'll be going through as to why every player on
the Falcons is named exactly why everything from.

Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
That we'll be looking at there.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
We'll be having a spelling be of every single team
until we all understand their name.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
We're gonna be looking at their horoscopes, trying to predict
the season.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Their favorite food, what they had for lunch in the
third grade. We're figuring it all out. I mean, why
Michael Pennix is a lefty and out alrighty like, we're
figuring it all out here. Listen, We're gonna just show
you footage of inverted video of him as already. It's
gonna look normal.

Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
There you go, his handwriting and you know, you never know.

Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
Yes, we don't want to get too ahead of ourselves.
We're very excited for this episode, well episodes. Colan's very excited.
I'm gonna get a text saying eat kick eat it.
