Speaker 1 (00:00):
Day, gentlemen, thank you all for tuning in to for
the Fan episode number one sixty four. As always, I
am well, we got Dom, Jake, and Colton. I don't
think we need to talk here. We're just gonna go
right into the inturre. You're listening to four the Fan.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
You are listening to for the fan, Dude ball.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
I think it's actually funny because well, yeah, I didn't
edit the thing on YouTube, so I have to edit
on TikTok. So I'm just gonna do everything else correctly
there from.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Here on out.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
But yes, let's talk about the final division here. We're
gonna go right into it. We don't need any more
explanation here, but here we go.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
The San Francisco forty nine Ers.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Were coming off the Super Bowl in twenty twenty three.
Injuries piled up, contract disputes happened. It was not a
good year, Just like the last time they came off
the Super Bowl in twenty nineteen, injuries piled up, it
was not really looking all that well for the Niners.
A six and eleven season. I think that might have
been the same as their previous one in twenty twenty,
so it was I think a six and ten.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
I think it was because it was the last game of.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
The sixteen game schedule. But yeah, the Niners are looking
to bounce back from what was a very bad year
for them, and they're trying to get back into what
they've been for I don't know a lot of the
Kyle Shanahan era, which is a playoff team, And here
we go into the offense. Brock Party is still there,
(01:37):
everyone is.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
There's still a lot of big pieces here.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
The big question mark here are you coming off the
ACL injury that suffered against the Chiefs. How is he
gonna come back? When will he come back? They don't
think he's gonna come back until week six. So Ricky Piersao,
Juan Jennings, DeMarcus Robinson, Jacob Cowing, your time is now
to step up and be a big piece of this offense.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Bringing Mac Jones.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
As the backup quarterback after I don't even know who
the backup was last year. And also the bigger question
marks here, there's only one healthy running back in this room,
and it's Christian McCaffrey. Every other person is banged up
and hurt's hurt.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
I Garndo on the current depth chart is healthy.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Okay, so it must have changed then from Monday.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
So Dominic Pooney that's how you say his name. He
is hurt on the current depth chart. So that's a thing.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
A lot of big stuff going down here. Yeah, George
Kittle still there. They get Luke Farrell from the Jaguars. Uh, yeah,
I I don't know. I'm minus the Iyuk situation. I
am pretty excited for what the Niners can be with
Pearsall and Jennings and DeMarcus Robinson on the offense.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Kind of wild. How long is Brandon Ayu count for
East Week six? Damn?
Speaker 5 (03:03):
What?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yeah? I don't know. I tell you what.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
This is a competitive division, so if you lag behind,
that might not be fun.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I mean this division was like competitive, but it was
like a tightly competitive race where like everyone was within
a game of each other.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Yeah, you kind of can't afford.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
All of this crap if you can help it.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
You know, you gotta hope Christian McCaffrey plays like Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
You still gotta win the games.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
You have George Kittle, You'll have games from him, Like
you have a roster still this is you can easily
work with it, but you do have a competitive division.
You know, you can't discount anything that happens in this division,
So got.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
Compete, boy. This team shot load. Let's just let's just
call it what it is. This team shot there load
and they're now gonna based the consequences of missing their
opportunity to win the Super Bowl. Still solid roster. The
problem is the division is still really good. And yeah, no,
(04:10):
Yu is a problem. So you have freaking Pearsall who
didn't play a lot last season. You're asking a lot
from him to take a step. Juwan Jennings, solid player.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, breaking news, breaking news right now, DeMarcus Robinson has
been suspended the first three games. So the receiving core
gets even thinner as we're talking about this. So this
is horrible here for the Niners. But yeah, pear Saw
and Jennings, that's good. And then, uh, I don't know
who's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Your Russell Gage, dude, he's back from the dead.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Russell Gage, Oh boy, probably chosen to look at that.
Look at him down there.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Isaiah Hodgens, the guy from the Giants.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Hey, this team's going, this team's going to Super Bowl game.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
This is a b dude, Like, all right, you gotta
give me the defense.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
I gotta see what's going on with this defense that
they are still like loaded defensively, because like I kind
of forgot what's going on, Like one of my favorite
players is on this defense and Fred Warner.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
So Fred Warner still there.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
They bring back Robert Salad, who was a very big
piece of their defense. So Bob sala he's gonna be
running the steps again, and so Levi Stadium. So that's
a good thing there. They did add Jason Pinnock from
the New York Giants. They add a lot of big pieces,
but they also got rid of a bunch of pieces.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
So take as you wish.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
They did trade for Brace Huff from the Eagles after
a very disappointing year with them. They get Mike Williams
in round number one.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
CJ. West.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
They bring in Alfred Collins, Nick Martin. Did they just
draft all defense here? Like, what's going on here? Can
we flick back for like one second? Like, did they
only draft defense?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Basically? Ed DT linebacker, corner, DT wide receiver, running back, safety? God?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
But yeah up in stout great name. Uh yeah, that's
probably a first team all name. Uh marquess single, So yeah,
Trey Trey Brown, A lot of these pieces.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
They add a.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Lot of a lot, a lot, a lot of pieces.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
As we're looking here for Uh.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Yeah, this is gonna be a rough season. They shot there,
that's the best way to describe this team. Shot there
would and they.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I disagree, Tell you what?
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Tell you what?
Speaker 6 (06:26):
You disagree? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Because no, why this is what they do is exactly
what the Niners do. All the time they go to
the super Bowl, they lose, they get they have an
injury season where they're really bad, getting easy schedule right
back up. They have the easiest schedule in the league
this year.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
See, I don't due the problem is the hell that's
the problem.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
The team's making the playoffs. I bet you just had
no reason they might win the division. It really would.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Yeah, no, no, no, they do have legitimately the easiest
strength schedule in the league.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
They do. That's that's actually true.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
They ride easy schedule every time they have those up years.
Every single time they have a bad year, they can't
use schedule. They get a good draft pick.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
The problem is this lineup isn't as good like even
their defense isn't as loaded like. Yes, there are some
very good players still, of course, mcbotha, of course one
of the best mint linebackers in the game, and Fred
Warner like I got it, but like, this team lost
a lot defensively and they lost a lot offensively. If
you gotta right Jake at the end, I'll give you
(07:27):
your flowers for man. I just don't, dude, I think
this team shot their load. Now everyone who's said the
most overrated quarterback in football, and brock perty got paid
a lot of money like, so less can get distributed
around the roster, like, dude, I there's a lot of
question marks on this team. Dude, speaking of the schedule,
(07:48):
if you guys are done, can we see what this
schedule looks like and how easy this actually is. I'm
actually curious.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Here, uh, Week one away in Seattle, so against the
brand new offense with the Seahawks, and then they go
to the Saints where they always have a great matchup
with the Saints for whatever reason. But then you have
the home opener against the Cardinals in week three, Jaguar
is not really.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Too scared of.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
You don't really know what's gonna be going on with
that roster, and then bam the Rams in so Fi.
So obviously a third home game there for the forty
nine ers. That's how well they're traveling. I'm not scared
of the schedule like the Browns, the Colts, the Titans,
the Bear whatch.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Win teams easily team.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I could even give them eleven or twelve ten.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Geez, guys, this is kind of crazy. I'll give you
guys your byes if you're right.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I know.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
The schedule, Oh, it is easy. Like if this we're
looking at this schedule and we're talking from like the Bills.
This team is not losing a game this season.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
The schedule scares you at all if your team even
played them.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
Well, I mean like they'll probably split against the Rams,
they'll probably split against the Cardinals, probably against Seattle. So
there's three losses. Then the only team they really could
play is the Bucks and the Texans.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
That the Texans are back. Other than that, they should
win every other game.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
But in the strength this team is always pass rush,
which the Texans can't defend supposedly.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yeah, I mean, if they're back, they're back.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
But I mean still, I don't, like I said, I'll
give you guys your flyers there right on it, I
don't The schedule is definitely easy. I'm not gonna like
hard argue that God looking at the schedules, shot, I'm
telling you, if we're talking about like Kansas City looking
at the schedule, or the Bills or the Ravens, they
may not lose a game looking at this schedule.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
They don't seem to be world beaters to go ten wins.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
But but you know what, here's the thing, Like when previously,
when they were what they were and whatnot and whatever,
they made playoffs and they had a very competitive team
going into playoffs that could compete in playoffs.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
This team could easily go into playoffs and hit a wall.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
I mean we're also talking about like they're going six
weeks without a number one receiver. Like imagine George Kittle
gets hurt in any which point McCaffrey gets hurt again.
Like then it's like, oh no, this team's actually gotten
dog water and they're asking a lot of rock party
and then you're all gonna be like, oh God, the
Saint's actually have a chance to possibly win a game
if Arizona, I mean, Marvin Harrison will get to them
in a little bit. Marvin Harrison looks like he's putting
(10:21):
on some muscle and they can be decent if Kyler
Murray can like actually get him in the football this season.
Like when I look at him, Yes, I agree with
the promise. I no McCaffrey's injury history. George kill hasn't
been the healthiest guy the last few seasons. Like oh,
and by the way that I mentioned they don't have
a number one receiver for like the first six weeks.
And by the way, even when uh, Brandon a you
played after he got his back, he looks at Dogwaterer,
(10:44):
So like, what are we getting from Brandon Ayuk when
he comes back? Like, I got what you were saying.
And we also talked about Rock Party, how he's asked
a lot of people talk about how he's asked and
he fits in with a great head coach. I can
put him in a good spot. He's not gonna be
asked to like, hey, Brock, you're gonna have to take
us to the next step and teach Rickey Gersoll how
to play football on a consistent level and take him
into a higher end wide receiver like Peyton Manning did
(11:07):
with guys like Eric Deckeran got him paid. Like, yeah,
he's gonna have to do that. That's what scares me
about this team saying like, oh yeah, they're not gonna
be that good. Like the schedule. Absolutely, you'll get on
paper and you think of Anderson the past, gott not
losing the game. The problem is no wide receiver one.
George Kittle has been fragile the last year's season. McCaffrey
is the word fragile. The defense has lost a lot
(11:30):
of players. That's what scares me about this team. So
I will give you guys your flowers. You can bookmark this.
I will bookmark it. Mentally, I will give you guys
your flowers. If they win ten games, you'll get the schedule. Absolutely,
the team stuck on the schedule.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
What they do they had they had Kaepernick and then
the team kind of falls apart. They hit, they hit
a dip. They're right back up with Jimmy G. Jimmy
G gets hurt, gets hurt. All ten teams hurt all
the time. They're down because the injury year gets any
other easy schedule.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
Brock Perry, I'll see it. I get what you're saying.
I'll give it to you.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
I will.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Hang up, I apologize follows, I will do it. You
will see me in the end of the season.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
The thing to me this season is like, all right,
what stands out and like, here we are.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Everyone says that Kyle Shanahan's the genius, and like that
this coaching staff is this coaching staff, this I think
is the most real test and like if they can
do this and do all these things, win all these games,
and they go on the playoffs and genuinely be like
as competitive as they're supposed to or as as he's
(12:42):
been and they still put all that together, then genuinely like,
this is the most testing season for this coaching staff easily,
and we'll see how that turns out them.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
This also might be the season that Kyle Shanahan gets fired, yep,
even after making the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
We were actually, I mean, while we're given that question
the other day, is if Kyle Shanahan is on the
hot seat, And I said, he probably should be on
the hot seat, but he isn't.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
I think he's a great coordinator, terrible coach, absolutely terrible coach.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Like we were asked, like, is McDaniel on the hot
seat with Shanahan? I said, McDaniel's absolutely on the hot seat,
but I don't think Shanahan is.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
I agree but I think this he has these years.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
He has like as you said, Jake, he has those
years where like everyone's hurt, you got a good draft pick,
you got a great player, and then boom, you're back
in the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Like listen, last time.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
The forty nine ers were all hurt.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Dak Presca had a leg injury, which again twenty twenty
four had that. Okay, he didn't play the whole year.
Like it just kind of like adds up. It all
adds up.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Because guess what I'm saying, though, is like they make
the playoffs because they follow the cycle and its schedule
is stupid easy. But this is not. This team's not
as good as those old ones objectively. Yeah, so they're
gonna likely get demolished by the first good team they
play in the playoffs, and it's gonna be the end
of Shandy.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
That's what I'm saying. The playoffs, I think they hit
a wall, and I think that's that. I don't know
if Shanahan gets fired per se, but I think questions
will definitely be raised and then at least by then
the hot seat happens. But I have a hard time
saying that this is the Super Bowl competitive team that
(14:22):
they're supposed to be technically that they've been for years.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
So schedule side.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, I forgot.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
We've been talking about the schedule this entire time because
something that matters for them.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
No, no, it wasn't a contest.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Can we go on? Shall we move on?
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Let's head back down to the Candy Brito Capital of
the world there the Arizona Cardinals, where a year ago,
at one point they were leading the NFC West and
we were kind of thinking, hey, could this team make
this step ken gannon Ma, this team go to the playoffs?
What can the Cardinals do going forward with a healthy
Kyler Murray now gonna be you know, several years off
(15:08):
the ACL injury, off that catastrophic knee injury. Well, unfortunately
it kind of fell down back to earth there eight
and nine. It was the final record for the Cardinals
as they're looking to you know, rebuild and try to
get back into what they were at the middle of
the season last year, which was trying to be fighting
for a playoff spot, looking where they could stack up
(15:28):
against other NFC powerhouses. Essentially, as we head into the
offense here, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
A lot has changed.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
This is like the Falcons as we talked about. Yeah,
really everyone's there. They bring back in Will Hernandez, who's
been hurt. I think he's going to be eventually activated
off the pup list, which is gonna be good there
for the Arizona Cardinals. Obviously, the question here with the
running back room. James Connor got hurt at the end
of last season. They saw Michael Carter get a lot
(15:58):
of snaps. Trey Benson maybe can take over the Jane
Conner snaps that he's.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Been looking to get. He's been looking pretty good in
the preseason. Uh, yeah, I I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I don't know anymore guys can just take over talk
about it. I I sincerely don't know.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
Well, well, by the way you seem way out of this,
you would think we're talking about the NFC South again.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
There's nothing exciting.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
I love when, like, you know, like all these rosters,
it's like, oh, hey, here's your yellows, your red, your
you know, your magenta's your there's like green colors.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
Like I love that we're gonna get you. We're gonna
get you in the trading cards. Then you start pulling cards.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
And I alread I've already done that. I've been a
big fan of Ultimate Team. I'm not going to discuss
how much I spent on Ultimate Team. Okay, Big Matt
and twelve Guy love Man at twelve, Man at thirteen,
Great Mann in sixteen.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
I peaked at it.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I'll send you, I'll have a screenshot on my team.
I'll send you how good this team was back in
the day. Just wait one team and they'll be all
excited again the next time.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Forgot, we don't We don't know about that one.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
That's it's looming over for that one.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
He doesn't care about before.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
He just needs to get through this so we can
talk about his.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
Dude, he's so excited, we might as well buzst through this.
Like Kyler Murray comes out of Coller, can Kyler Murray
get freaking Marvin Harrison the football? And can Marvin Harrison
move up to the hype that Marvin Harrison came out
of college with. I mean, he had all the hype
coming out of Ohio State. And last year's like, oh
my gosh, everyone's jumping for Marvin Harrison and all their
drafts Keeper Loaves, Oh my god, got to draft Marvin
(17:32):
Harrison's gonna be the next freaking like Randy Moss type
of guy, Jerry Rice type of player, and holy cow
was an utter disappointment from Marvin Harrison and Kyler Murray
last year.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
So I, according to Kyler, it's not his job to
get in the football.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
Yeah, Kyler's the problem is Kyler's a jackass. Let's play
this for call duty and uh yeah, he can't win
any of his medal games.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
The call of Duty trailer looks awful this year. I
found Kyler Murray, I wouldn't be excited. I just say,
you know what, let's play football.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Kyler should played baseball at the athletics is what he
should have did. So yeah, like I said, I don't know.
I agree. Nothing jumps off the table here. It kind
of reminds me of the Packers. Like, okay, cool Kyler Murray,
Jordan willad Eh, like cool Marvin Harrison is a cool
little toy there. Can they actually get him involved in anything?
(18:21):
And can he live up to what he is? Otherwise
it's this, eh cool? So like, I got it. I agree,
there's not a lot of pop on this team. If
Marvin Harrison live up to the hype, that's the problem.
These guys get a lot of hype coming at You
think we're talking about the New York Yankees fucking prospects. Uh.
With these guys, he's got that dog in him.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yeah, great timing. Let's let's go to Let's go to
the defense here where they did add a lot of pieces.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Calias Campbell comes home what you would have to assume
is his final year in the NFL. He returns to
the Cardinals after going all over the league, the Jaguars,
the raven He's been everywhere, Spin's been everywhere. They add
Dalvin Tomlinson to on the defensive front, so that's really good.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Walter Nolan the third is also another really good pick
there for the Cardinals. Akeem Davis Gaither from the Bengals.
Josh Sweat comes in. He gets big money from after
leaving Philadelphia. Will Johnson the round two pick who could
have possibly been around one due to injury he fell down.
Denzel Burke also in round number five. Cody Simon, Uh yeah,
(19:33):
Jalen Jalen Jones there from the Chicago Bears. They've made
this defense a little bit better, which is good because
you need this defense to be playing in football games in.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Order for you to win. These games. Look at Steven
Gilmore all the way down there.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
This is like.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
This is other thing that kind of annoys me about
defensive head coaches is they'll put a ton into the
defense and when the team still can't score fourteen points,
they still stink.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
Or in reality, it's not super even game changing in
the first place. Uh, it's like they'll put so much
into the defense and it'll equate to like one win
that mattered because of it.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Shouldn't it be that you don't need to get star
players because you can scheme up a good defense when
you think that'd be more.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
That's what the Chiefs are, right, isn't that the thing?
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yeah, it's like the Jets did this, the Saints did
this forever, the Bears did this forever, and the team stink.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Though this team surprised us last year. How many wins
did this team have?
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Well, eight wins, it's banging the door down eight.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
They're really great.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
They at one point they were the number one team
in the NFC. Was they we thought they could have
possibly you know, hey, and.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
How many times does the door they starts the season
awesome and then sucks.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
It's kind of true.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
What did I send earlier. I gotta find this. Let's see,
it was about the Cardinals. Only one team has yet
to score fifty points in the regular season, and it's
the Cardinals.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Since nineteen sixty five, they.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Scored one time, and I was against the Aaron Rodgers
in that historic playoff game in two thousand and nine.
Carlos Dansby gets the fumble and returns it for a touchdown.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
That's kind of nuts, to be honest. Well, they go, yeah,
which is crazy because really, on paper, this team should
be doing that. Well not that, but like this team
should be putting up points, uh and be doing more.
Especially I don't know, whatever if they couldn't do it.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
With d Hop and they did do it with d Hop,
they just imploded.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
No, I mean putting up all this points oh you know,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, the one here David Johnson two years actually, and
then Cliff Kingsbury decided, oh hey, here we go Kenyan Drake.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Ken Drake was sick.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I refuse to talk about it.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Let's look at the schedule.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Let's head to the schedule here, big ones.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
Dude, Will just wants to blow through this team.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
This is a top schedule again.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
Agreeents, when we get to the next team that none
of us speak and just will talks about it. I
gotta tell you will. You're you're very Your game is
very familiar to a foe of mine who just has
like four different teams that he roots for. It's like, oh,
I'm a Jets fan, but it's like, no, I root
for like these teams like really hard to So we're
(22:45):
gonna make sure the four is yours.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Are you talking about Joe?
Speaker 6 (22:48):
No, I'm not talking about Joe.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Give on the team.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
No, not the next team. It's not the team that
he goes about.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Uh man.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
But yeah, you learn about Arizona. Here you go from
you know, West time to Mountain time. After the clock's
flipboard on November ninth, they go from instead of a
one o'clock start, it's a two o'clock start. So that's
also uh you know a little he he haha joke.
But yeah, a lot of up, a lot of a
back and forth. Here you go to the Saints, you're
home for the Panthers. Then you go to the forty
(23:23):
nine ers. You get some consistency at least, but then
you know the Colts. Then you go to the Jerry
World like the same could be an eight or any
one team. I think Kyler Murray's never lost in Texas,
so obviously he could chuck up at w there for
week number nine.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
And I think that is a Monday night football game,
So like eight wins? Cool, what are we doing, Kyler?
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Kyler Murray should just eat some shrimp from Walmart. And
I think we know Kyler Murray grow in the Superman
and then the teams you lead.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
How could they just give away free mutations shrimp for
like market value in this economy.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
So active nuclear shrimp.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Actually shrinks, he'll be He'll be super shrimp.
Speaker 7 (24:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Hell growth four inches an only be below average height.
Oh man, Yeah, I don't know. Eight or nine wins,
like all right, listen, it'll be the same thing as
last year.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
I think they compete for the division up until December,
and then whatever team's actually going to win the division
will win the division.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
I think that's ultimately what it is.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
I don't think they will pushover team at any given point,
but I don't think that they're a top team either.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
They're like the eighth or ninth or tenth team in
the NFC.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Yeah, maybe one of those fake wild card teams.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Yeah, I think they'll be in the hunt up until
the last week season. I believe, and then you know,
I mean, like that's just I think that's what we'll
get from this team. Again, I don't think this team improved.
I don't think it'll show on the field that they
improved from last year.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Uh, it'd be cool if what Colton said, if.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
Nuclear shrimp part of what I said, the nuclear shrimp
part for Kyler, or absolutely.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
If Marvin Harrison went nuclear and bulked up like you said,
and like you know, it was just like an absolute stud.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Harris on the shrimp. God, that's why he looks big.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
If that's their new menu item.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
It went from brito, Oh my god, the freaking candy burrito.
But what's gonna make this team successful this season is
that you have to make the playoffs and you gotta
you gotta win a game.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
What the candy burrito is so much? We spent more
time talking about that stupid bread.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Oh the Cardinals fans hated that last year too. It
was like, why are we talking about some confession stand item?
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Because it was the most that we thought, it was
the most exciting part of their team. That's why.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Because the Yeah, because we because it's like the most fun,
not predictable thing. Do they buy it? Do you die
after you eat it?
Speaker 1 (26:21):
What's the over and under that they have for you know,
selling that is that Harrison.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
Had to be eating that. That's why the season was disappointed.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
What's worse? Nuclear shrimp or candy burrito?
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Bro We don't destroying you?
Speaker 4 (26:35):
Yeah, the shrimp come alive inside of you at that point,
who knows? God? Can we move on from this team.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Let's go from the southwast to the northwest where a
year ago the Seattle Seahawks Gino Smith, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett,
Jackson Smith, and Jigba. He starts to get a lot better.
He's coming along in this offense teams fighting for the
NFE West crown and ultimately fell a half a game
short to the Rams and winning that title. And the
(27:07):
Seahawks and the first year of McDonald decide, let's just
blow the entire thing up. So they blow up the
entire offense. They ship DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh for a second,
you know, Smith goes away for a third. Tyler Lockett,
the you know, eleven year veteran of the Seahawks leaves,
he goes to where receivers just ultimately go to die
in Nashville, Tennessee. So looking around, they decide to acquire
(27:30):
the two pieces that are pictured here, Sam Donald and
Cooper Cup to be the heir to the thrones of
the Seahawks offense.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Let's go into the offense here, but b b bam
here we go.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
So Sam, they revamped the quarterback room. Sam Donald comes in,
Drew Locke comes in. They trade away Sam Howell for
like a fourth or a fifth round pick to the Vikings.
They draft Jalen Milrow.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
They end up releasing Noah Fan kind of early in
the training camp. He actually bound landed with the Cincinnati Bagels.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
So A J.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Barner Elijah Arroro uh fills in there for the Titans spots.
Gray Zebel from the North Dakota State comes in to
try to solidify this offensive line. Uh Tory Horton. Another
guy for the receiving corps, Marquez Valud. The scantling finds
himself there, Jake Bobo. Can he find himself a larger
(28:27):
role in this offense?
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Amid a very big uh.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Renaissance here for this offense and I have to zoom
back out here. This team has three fullbacks. Okay, we
thought the Saints were ridiculous with eight tight ends three
fullbacks in the ninety man roster.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Here for your Seattle Seahawks, Uh, Jake, anything on Brady Russell?
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Is he good?
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Is he not good? Or I didn't know we had
a second fullback Van Sumerin. I don't know who that
human is.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
But you tut the.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Super Bowl champion right there. You gotta relax, geez.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
I don't think he is a super Bowl Champion's not
new to the roster, so I don't even know when
he decided to like to get him there.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
You see the the yellow orange ones are the new people.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
Wait he's back?
Speaker 3 (29:20):
How long until Milroe starts? I don't know.
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Hey, you can talk the crap that you could talk
and about Will and this human Sam Darnold.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
But he did have a phenomenal season last season, his
whole career. It did just take him his own career.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
But listen, hey, he's got that Gino Smith contract that
they signed them after Russell Wilson left, uh Seattle. So
he gave him the you know, the one year of
like guaranteed money. The two years of no guaranteed money.
So listen, it's a low risk, high reward thing. And
if ultimately Darnal plays, well, if it's just like Gino Smith,
you're gonna trade him away for a third round pick.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
So that's ultimately what you're looking out there.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
They're they're harboring rejected Jets.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Listen, Hey, the first year of Gino Smith a started,
they made the playoffs. If if Sam Donald gets it there, like, hey,
I'll be okay, I got a DK metcalp jersey there
and I'll I'll duct tape Donald's nameplate on it.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
Okay, you are good, Charlie Brown. Why did we allow
you to have a microphone up?
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Why do we let this man have a voice to
talk anything sports related?
Speaker 6 (30:31):
Good you? And like again like they are harboring bum jets,
like oh god. And then it's like, oh see, I
told you, I knew you were gonna be good, Like,
oh god.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Listen, Gina Smith, I never gave up on Geno Smith,
I never gave up on Donald.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
I don't work for the Jets and then attached quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Let me let me ask this question for you, guys,
can Jackson Smith and Jigba be the number one receiver
for this team, especially with the kind of the uncertainty
a quarterback because Donald last year, Addison, Jefferson, TJ. Hockinson
obviously a great trio there, and now he goes to
Jackson Smith, a questionable receiver, and Cooper Cup and then you.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Got a J.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Barner Elijah Roro proud of Miami.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
So I would say yes, I think could he match
the seam production as he did last year? Yeah, I
think so because he still has his cover with Cooper Cup. Sure,
Cooper Cup isn't what he was, but if he can
somehow get himself back into it and he's not being
looked at as a number one receiver, I absolutely think
he can. And Jackson Smith and Jiggla also has taken
(31:36):
that role as the guy, and he did at Ohio
State as well, so kind of the new form of
wide receiver U is Ohio State. I think Jackson definitely
continue his high role and I think it can be
successful for Sam Donald as well, as much as it's
to Will's pleasure and his ears are probably all getting
a warm and fuzzy. It's a very similar rosters shape
(32:01):
up as far as offensively. When you look to the Vikings,
they should have a decent run game. For Kenneth Walker's
ten games he plays, Charbonnay has done well when he's
filled in for him as well. So I think you
have the nice run offense that they're gonna want to have,
just kind of like what Minnesota had, and you have
some talented receivers. Is it justin Jefferson? Absolutely? Now it's
(32:22):
not kid ourselves, but Jsm's a good receiver. Cooper Cup
as the number two is a nice piece, so I
think he can definitely succeed Saandar.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
Also, this is as long as they compliment the whole
passing game with a really genuinely like top tier running
game that Kenneth Walker provides and win called upon Charbonne
also provides. Like those guys have been so so great,
I mean I talk about it, I'll do it for
(32:54):
a third year now.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
Of Kenneth Walker's production and how if if he's playing,
he's touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
I mean there was like fourteen weeks in a row,
fourteen games he played and started in a row he
scored a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Like he's as genuine production.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
They do a really good job running the ball, getting
those guys the ball too, so like as long as
you complement it correctly, I think Sam Donald can do well. Again,
I think Jackson Smith and Gibb it could be great.
Like I think they I think they're fine. I really
do think they're fine. I think the production will be there.
I think they will be there in this division like
(33:32):
they are like every other team in this division.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Is so you want to know an underrated thing? What
So their new offensive coordinator is Clint Kubiak, the guy
responsible for the most electric two weeks in sports with
the Saints.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
There you go. I mean it could be great.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
I think Zach Sharbonnez takes this number one job from
Kenneth Walker and just doesn't look back.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
I think ultimately it's going.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
To go to that. I think that's you're in a year.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
It's a contract year for Kenneth Walker.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Wow, maybe after this season. I don't think he ever
performs better than Kenneth.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Walker per se, not one time, but not a single game.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Yeah, I don't know. But when he's called upon, I mean,
he performs just as well.
Speaker 5 (34:13):
But I don't think I think Kenneth Walker is your
best option every single time.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Nonetheless, I mean to have that problem is a good problem.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
So whatever, let's head to the defense here where obviously
the defense wasn't the shining star, the shining point as
you know they were, you know.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
In previous years.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Obviously look at McDonald in his first year with the
Ravens as DC horrific and then they became really good.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Maybe he can have that mojo going into this year.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
They get the Marcus Warrence a three year deal, so
match him with Leonard Williams could be you know, a
lot of great stuff there. Bira Murphy the round one
pick from last year, obviously a very good pick up
there for them.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Obviously he's gonna be filling into a much bigger role.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
But you know, Devon Witherspoon, Rek Wollen is Josh Job.
You have these pieces here, and then you also got
nick A Maori from the USC of the East in
round number two who could be a really good complimentary piece.
They were running three safeties at one point, so because
he's a dog, that's why.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
I actually I like this defense man.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
I think the defense could be better.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
I don't know where they finished last year in rankings
on defense, but it's gonna be a lot better than
what they were. This was I think it was a
really bad defense. If I saw correctly, I could be wrong,
but I would love for someone to, uh, yeah, I got.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
You do do do?
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Yeah, it should be a solid defense. I I'm excited
to see what Sam Donald does. It's kind of what
it looks like. Is one of those teams that brings
in a quarterback and see what they all like.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
I've been waiting for those words all all the time.
Now I'm excited to see what Sam Donald does as
Coland now my heart's happy.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
They were like dead middle of the road.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Okay, so it wasn't what we're used to seeing from.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Them.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
They they are always a good defense, like that's what
the Seahawks are.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
I'm sorry, is this This is incredibly off topic, but
it's in front of me, and there's no way this
can be correct. But you guys correct me if I
just truly don't remember, it's just what is it even
based on the Commanders let up fourteen touchdowns in the
playoffs last year?
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Is that correct? Oh?
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Yeah, we mother got seven or eight on them alone.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
That's the same the Eagles put up a lot on them.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
It was seven rushing touchdowns and a receiving one.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
That is more than twice anyone else in the playoffs
last year, more than twice of anyone.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
In the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (36:50):
You know, they weren't high scoring games, if you don't recall.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Their defense is ass and they got run over wild man.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
Well it wasn't, didn't they They beat the lines right,
and that game was like a shootout. There's a lot
of points in that game, wasn't there. Yeah, I mean,
and then Philly put up like eighty so I mean
it only makes sense.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah, Harrison Phillips is a jet.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Okay, I don't know everyone's breaking news on it, so
I'm just like, I don't even know who I'm even
looking at here.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Oh well, just talk about your Seahawks. Get excited, I know,
because I.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Think until the next team. Okay, the next team is
my team. Okay, I know.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
I know you went out to see them once. You
might as well skip the schedule. Who gives a who
give me ram it ramming all day, ramming all night.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Ram And I'm so happy you said this.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
I just reposted the stream. That's all I did, doing
God's work, reposting the show.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Nice stream this.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
I don't know why it says that. By the way,
I just reposted the show. I don't know why I
would say that.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
This is their schedule and we could just look at
it real quick before we say that they're just gonna
be the same as the rest of the teams in
this division basically where they win eight or nine or
seven or whatever the heck, right, I.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Don't know, but hey, going to Pittsburgh Week two is
gonna be really interesting going against DK Metcalf, really a
whole revamped team, Like that's gonna be a really good matchup,
especially in the early.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Window of a Week two Sunday. I this team could
go with like three and one.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
I think through the first four games, I think it could.
I don't know, you don't know what. The Niners are
gonna be the Saints seed. No, they're gonna just be,
you know, absolutely just dog water. And then the Cardinals
are just gonna be the Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
At eight or nine. The Seahawks just the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Know how to just play in Arizona. They know how
to play in State Farm Stadium. So do everyone else essentially,
I mean, the Rams do how to play in State
Farm Stadium. Besides the Cardinals is the only team that
I don't know how to play in their home stadium.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeah, this is just the team.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
Yeah, typical eight, nine, ten, whatever, competing with the rest
of the division.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
Team that's the seventh seed kind of shape in the NFC.
It's just it is what it is.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
I mean, it's like they'll split with everyone and they'll
do the thing whatever. They'll compete down to the wire. Listen,
this is a good division. This is a good division
purely because it's super competitive. There's never a team with
like sometimes it's a team with like five wins when
the Cardinals decide to be bad.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
But like, ultimately this is a five hundred.
Speaker 5 (39:36):
Plus each team division, so we'll get a competitive division.
You can't really really can't predict this division too well.
We could try, but there's always the toss ends every year.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
So one final team left, head YouTube, go take your team.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
One final team left, and it is the Los Angeles Rams,
where a year ago they came off of a playoff
berth they ended up losing in Detroit. They end up,
you know, running the table again. They go back to
back for the playoff spots. Ultimately, they couldn't play the
home playoff game in Sofi Stadium due to the wildfires
that were going on there in the LA County and
(40:18):
uh yeah, a lot of ups, a lot of downs.
But you know, they really they showed off last year.
It's really impressive. So yeah, let's talk about it. Let's
talk about it right here, right now, Dom, let's zoom
out here.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
We got this poland bolden U rampage. Rampage. Alrighty, So
talking about this.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Matthew Stafford is back from the dead after a dislocated
disc in his back. He got all these weirdly infrared
scans and all that stuff essentially trying to heal his back.
Speaker 6 (41:00):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Yeah, he's back on the practice field. Looks like he
could probably be heading to Week one, but obviously need
a lot more practice time for there.
Speaker 6 (41:07):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
They move away from Cooper Cup. They bring in Devonte Adams,
which I think really compliments Pooka Nkua to be a
probably the best wide receiver too in the league because
is him uh still another year to two at well,
you have a lot of these other pieces. Coleman Shelton
comes in from Chicago. They end up trading one of
their offensive linemen up to Chicago for I think like
(41:31):
a mid round pick, fifth round pick at that.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
So yeah, Kyraen Williams.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Gets paid a lot of a lot of a lot
of pieces here. Tyler Higbee now even further off the ACL,
so hopefully he's gonna be back to uh that form
that we once saw prior to the ACL tear.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
But yes, what are we feeling here with this offense?
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (41:54):
I think quarterback is really the only talkable top pick
for this team because it's like, all right, cool, they
have they have a very talented wide receiver group, very
good wide receivers.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Pucash proven himself.
Speaker 5 (42:10):
DeVante Adams is DeVante Adams, He's still super talented. He
is a ghost, but he's still great, uh to to
out well, super athletic, a lot of talent there.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
Then you have Kien Williams, who's who's a great runner.
Good job.
Speaker 5 (42:32):
The offense aside from the quarterbacks really hasn't changed too much.
They're still really good, they got the talent whatever. But yeah, dude,
the quarterback room is is I don't know if Matthew
Stafford plays, will it matter that much? I don't know,
you know, like that's that's part of the issue too.
(42:55):
Is he going to be actually effective for another year?
Speaker 4 (42:58):
This old in his career? After coming off of being
very hurt and stuff.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
I have a hard time saying he will then Jimmy
g I, I don't know, dude, I have almost no
faith in that.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
And then you have stetson Benton.
Speaker 6 (43:14):
What receivers both on him, and then you have no
I don't want to be added back in here. I
don't want to be added back with about the ram
and that stupid little fricking thing that he just had
a I know, I want no.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Doc had it as well.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
I'm not gonna get slandered over this, Okay, don't disrespect
rampage like that.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
Okay, I will only disrespect.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I missed when the Steelers mascot was the hind sketch
a bottle, Okay, I really missed that. And now it's whatever,
I don't know, cryptocurrency stuff that they're pushing there at
the Three Rivers.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Colden, what do you think about this offense? I genuinely
want to know.
Speaker 6 (43:54):
When is that to Matthew Stafford? If is that elbow
gonna survive long enough? Like that's kind of where it
comes down in two. I mean, he is the dislocated
disc Oh, that's he's this an old man like I'm
actually shot that the Rams decided to uh run this
thing back, and you know why, like, and the thing is,
it's kind of like useless. They If you're gonna talk
(44:15):
about a team that reminds me of the Steelers, it
would be the Los Angeles Rams. They're kind of just
doing this adding pieces in like at Devontae Adams like
it cool, like the Steers adding Jalen Ramsey Steeers adding
DK Metcalf Like, Oh, look, we're doing stuff. We're gonna
be competitive, we're gonna be good. And then I'm not
(44:36):
gonna do anything with it. That is the La Rams
because knock knock, knock, Sean McVay is on his way
out the door. So that's kind of the thing that's
going on here. The Rams are gonna give it one
final shot with Matthew Stafford and that's gonna be it.
So I don't.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Trust me.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
It's good. And if Stafford's healthy, game on, they're gonna
be from the watch, They're gonna put up points. H
Kyra Williams is a good running back, their wine solid
and they have two good receivers. Problem is, Matthew Stafford
is aging and that back is very frad Glay. So
you're talking week seven, week eight getting hit and uh yeah,
(45:20):
I think knock knock, knock. Retirement home is calling for
Matthew Stafford. I like Stafford. I think he's a gutsy player.
It's kind of like my type of guys and go
out there, play hurt. He's gonna do everything you can
for the team, an old school type of guy. I
love watching the thing of him in excruciating pain when
(45:40):
he was with the Lions early on, when they sucked
and the guys is out there and he throws a touchdown,
he's like, don't punch me.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Like it's like it's gone.
Speaker 6 (45:46):
Like. I like Matthew Stafford a lot. The problem is
like he's aged like and not like fine wine at
this point in his career. Yeah, oh it's good. The
problem is Matthew Stafford's like eighty as far as football years.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
Let's also mention this too, Like they traded their first
round pick to the Falcons and they have the Falcons one,
so next year they do have two first round picks.
And with this quarterback class that's coming in. If you
know the Falcons ones, you know any bad like if
it's like you know closer to like the front sixteen.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
They could use that other pick and try.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
To slide up because obviously two first round picks could
get you a franchise quarterback.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
That's kind of valid.
Speaker 6 (46:28):
I just don't think Sean McVay. I mean, we've heard
the last like two three years of McVeigh fort leaving,
So I think so Stafford's done. I think he's done.
I mean he could swim. Oh maybe hold on, we
got your shining toy, We've got your Drew Hour. If
arch Mannon decides to come out. I know the talk
is that he's staying at Texas whatever, do what you
want with that, but they might if they throw him
(46:49):
a flashing quarterback, you know, rookie pick. Here you go.
You know, I just don't know. It's I think this
team wins the division because the division kind of sucks
as a whole, or you guys are correct, and the
Niners somehow steamroll their way with the weak ass schedule.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
I think realistically the Seahawks also could throw the I mean,
I think this.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Is a fun into that trap. Multiple times I.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Have I think this is I think this could kind
of be the last place hold it before you go
to that point. I think that was my mission for
this year.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
Is all the teams that I propped up and thought
might be good that fell on their face from injury
or whatever, like the Dolphins not doing it this year.
All of them are getting smacked.
Speaker 4 (47:35):
I really should.
Speaker 5 (47:36):
I don't even pay attention to my previous year failures except.
Speaker 4 (47:40):
For in my Texans one. But then now I'm gonna
have hope again.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
Uh No, I think this team kind of could finish
last place in the division with like seven wins, and
that's just kind of that they really kind of could
plumb it. If Matt Stafford just kind of just physically
can't put it together, then he's gonna get replaced. I
don't have much faith in me g and then I
don't have any I agree, but that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
Less than healthy is.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Their defensive run game couldn't stop a nosebleed.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
Well, let's let's actually in the defense here. That's perfect.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
So into the defense here. Really there's not a whole
lot of change up in this defensive front. But Puna
Ford comes in from the Chargers, Nate Landman comes in
from the Falcons, they get Chris Paul, he returns to
Los Angeles after a big hiatus with San Antonio and
everywhere else. He returns to the Los Angeles and also
Ty Hamilton in round number five. But listen, the the
(48:38):
big pieces here is Braiden Braden fisks uh and where's
the other guy Jared Versus as well? So like you
lose Aaron darn Donald, but these two pieces really played
well last year with Cam Cameron Kinchins, Cam Curl, Darius Williams,
Keller Witherspoon, Like, there are a lot of good pieces here,
(49:01):
but it's kind of what's going to be happening here
with the rest of this team, especially on defense.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (49:10):
I think I really think this could be the last
place team in the division. And it's not because they're
necessarily just bad. It's because there I don't know if
their competitive level can keep up with the other teams,
and they may just take enough of a step back
because of quarterback play. It's kind of like Colton, or
(49:32):
like you Colton said, they will say I don't know
who said it just now about them. Well, we'll kind
of said it about having the two first round picks
next year. Maybe you can turn that into a quarterback
next year and whatnot. The offense is perfect for a
new quarterback. It's got the bones, it has weapons, there's
(49:54):
enough there, there's youth, there's enough talent, athleticism, everything's there.
It's awesome. But right now, I mean, you know, like
you said, Matt Stafford is incredibly old in this sport.
He's been hurt more than enough times. And then you
just don't have someone behind him that anyone's really excited about.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
So you know, they could easily be the last place team,
I think.
Speaker 5 (50:21):
And this defense, it's not like this defense is the
most exciting thing ever or holding them up in certain
games or even in this division.
Speaker 4 (50:30):
So yeah, it's I think this is just kind of
where we are with this team.
Speaker 6 (50:35):
I think they have a bright future. This would be
a great team to jump on if you're an upcoming coach.
If McVeigh is actually talking about leaving, which is kind
of nuts, the guy is still very young, this is
a great team to jump aboard. With the talent they
have on offense. I mean that this run is really
really good, Like Jared burs was very good last year,
(50:59):
Brandon brad and Fist was really good last year for them,
and they're all young guys Kobe Turner. Same thing like,
they have a lot of young talent in this front.
The back end there's a lot of question marks like
a Kel Witherspoon, eh like yuh like Cam Curll sure
like they have like this, a lot of question marks
(51:19):
in the back end where it's like, eh, but boy
oh boy that that starting front, that starting d line
is legit and a lot of young talent there. And
the same thing with the offense. They have a nice
offensive line. You have a nice young receiver that shown
a lot of potential and a nice veteran guy to
go alongside him as a good legitimate number two or
(51:42):
number one, however you want to put him in Poop
and Nakula. It's a nice team to look forward to,
especially if they can draft their quarterback correctly.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
After did see Colton you came mean later, but so
you missed the Saints. This is exactly why I called
Kellen Moore the biggest idiot in the NFL. So he
was itching to be a head coach so bad that
he took the only job that was available with the Saints.
It basically begged him to hire them instead of staying
with a great situation and waiting for a good opportunity
(52:14):
to actually present itself and then you leave on your
own terms and getting get a job like this.
Speaker 6 (52:21):
Yeah, it's exactly what Harball did, which I like told
millions of people that like Carble's gonna take the Chargers
job as soon as they actually decided to put on
their their ball cap that actually has their brain in
the hat and they're gonna move on from Oh god
him forget the dumpster fires name, where's the boom freaking whatever?
Speaker 4 (52:38):
His name, Dina, you missed it, you missed it. He's
the DC of the State Saints.
Speaker 5 (52:45):
We talked about the Saints and then well like, oh,
Brandon Staley or no, I said, Brandon Staley's the DC guys,
and we're just like, well.
Speaker 6 (52:55):
And that's the problem, Like Kellen Moore. Unless Kellen Moore
was given like a five year like debriefing from the owner,
like yeah, we're gonna give you like five years to
fix this thing completely and do what you want with it,
then why would you not just stay in oc build
your resume up like you're gonna be great again. And
it's like, oh, you're like the top guy on the
market when you want to go for the job. And
(53:16):
if I mean, I would assume this job is opening
up after this year, Stafford's gonna call the quits, and
I think McVeigh leaves with him, and this easily becomes
like the Charger Show. I was like, ooh, if you
you have the two first round picks, you don't know
what's going on at quarterback, Like with other guys around
the league, you don't know what other situations are gonna
be in. This is gonna be the hot job. Everything's
(53:39):
there but the quarterback. And you could ultimately bring the
quarterback in with the draft picks and you draft your guy,
or you have the assets and your trade for a
quarterback from another team that some odd reason has one available.
You never know after every season how how quarterback situations
end up. But this is gonna be that job. And yeah,
I get your point, j uh. It is some of
(54:02):
these coaches jump on jobs just to get the opportunity.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
Go from winning the Super Bowl to a very very
real shot at seventeen.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Could be worse.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
You could have became the Jets head coach. That's like worse.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
You're finne.
Speaker 6 (54:18):
You got the Rams, you got Seattle, you got the Raiders,
like you're fine. Well, you got a lot of options.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
You got the Commies.
Speaker 6 (54:26):
Oh you can't forget them too, Yeah, you have a
lot of options. Trust me, you're just fine over there.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
I think it's funny that most of them are just
NFC teams.
Speaker 6 (54:34):
Yeah, you're fun You're just fine.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
All right, I'll be I'll be better once we get
over the schedule here. Okay, so big Week one.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
They host the Texans, which is a very interesting Week
one matchup. But then they go out, they go out
east and you know, I love that they mentioned the
Uh oh no, never mind, that's still gonna be a
ten o'clock start for them on the West Coast, but
tight end and then Eagles in their home for the Colts,
and then the Niners. Another two games on the road
at Ravens and then in London against the Jaguars, and
(55:07):
then back home for the Saints. When's there bye week?
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Did I miss it?
Speaker 4 (55:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (55:13):
There after the London game.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
Okay, yeah, I see, I see the fine print here.
I should have pulled up my stupid magnifying glass.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Looked at it.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
Is your team, Stop criticizing them.
Speaker 7 (55:24):
Oh my god, it's not even I don't even know
if this is like I don't even know who made
the schedule, be honest, the graphic at least, uh, this
team is still gonna be flirting with the NFC West title,
Like there's no fans or butts about it.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
You're still gonna be doing that.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
I kind of only have seven, honestly, seven, Like I can't.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
I can have seven.
Speaker 5 (55:52):
I can put seven wins on the schedule. I'm saying
they could have more, but I'm saying I could put
seven wins on the schedule, not like ceiling seven.
Speaker 6 (56:01):
But yeah, this.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Not the best, that's for sure.
Speaker 6 (56:07):
It's not if Stafford was like when they first traded
for Stafford. This team is winning quite a few games.
The problem is Stafford's like Tua. I truly like the
number four the Dolphins I think is based off Tua.
I think people are born you cannot trust Tua. I
don't think the Dolphins is gonna be as bad as
(56:28):
people think, but Tua is the quarterback and cannot stay healthy.
I think the same thing's coming with old Matthew Stafford.
I sure they could come out and beat the Texans
like early on, Like Stafford's right in a rumble. Adams
Pooka is healthy, Like, let's rumble. Then you got a
young cam Ward, You're going to the Titans. Then you're
(56:49):
going to Philly. Yeah that's a loss, like and then
you got Daniel Jones, Like if Stafford's so healthy, they
could easily be U three and one here, like, then
you got the nine is like who knows what the
Niners are? Like, then you got the Ravens, the Jaguars, like,
then you got your bye week, like they could be decent.
(57:09):
But then it's like if Stafford gets blasted in that
Week three game against Philly and he gets a ship
rock and it's like, oh god, Staffords hurt already this
early in the season, like he's got paint in his
back already, Then where is this team going? That's my
problem with them.
Speaker 3 (57:26):
You know, it's not fun for if you have a
bad back, long inner inner ocean plane rides that are
eight hours or whatever, it will be ten hours from LA.
Speaker 6 (57:39):
And he got a decent flight to Tennessee too from LA.
So yeah, back to back weeks.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
So like it's just well, let me talk about the
they go play in London to play the Jags, Like
they're going that's all I'm talking about, Like that's not
gonna be fun.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
First, they have so many like across the country. Game
is like, you know, they go to the Titans and
obviously they're gonna stay out there. Then they'll just go
up to Philadelphia and come back home. Then they gotta
go all the way to Baltimore, and then they go
to one and then they go to the Carolina and
then they gotta go to Atlanta.
Speaker 6 (58:12):
Like that's a lot of just wow, they do they? Yeah,
this is easily a lot of I say, this is
easily the farthest traveling team this season.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
Right, I think it's a Charger, but because they go
to Brazil or something like that.
Speaker 6 (58:29):
Huh, let's see.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
I don't think I remember seeing it as a Chargers,
But I think this.
Speaker 4 (58:34):
Is the hardest strength of schedule in this division. But
it's still not by much.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
Yeah, but that's not taking an account travel, that's what
we're saying.
Speaker 4 (58:42):
Yeah, it's only winning percentage.
Speaker 3 (58:50):
Yeah, I'm almost almost positive the Chargers with the same thing.
It's la you have to go across the country from
most your games.
Speaker 4 (58:57):
So yeah, the Chargers and then the Rams. Yep, there
you go. Boom.
Speaker 6 (59:06):
Of course it's both California teams figure.
Speaker 3 (59:09):
I mean, it makes sense, but they're you know, Vegas
is pretty close.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Yeah, we've done it, gents, We did it. All thirty
two teams have been discussed. We rambled on about all
thirty two teams, and we still probably gave the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers nine minutes.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
I am very proud of us.
Speaker 4 (59:33):
We actually really probably did give them the least.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
Word consecutive year in a row, just nine minutes.
Speaker 4 (59:39):
Why but this wasn't us discounting them this time? At least?
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Hey, in two weeks, preview show gonna be here. We're
gonna have a lot of funds that coond best show
of the year that we do. To stay up to date,
you can follow us YouTube for the fan network, TikTok
for the fan Network, X for the fan Underscore, and
Instagram for the fan f Well, yeah, I got nothing else, gentlemen,
Do you have anything else to say before we sign off?
Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
Really excited for the predictions this year, Excited to see
which one of which team we discounted this previews, These
previews that just blow up in our face again.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Why did they have the Madden simulator picked the Cowboys
as the Super Bowl champions?
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Yeah? Because it's made by Cowboys fans.
Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
Because what was what was the two years ago? I
think it was Tampa Bay, right, we said Tampa Bay
was just pointless, blah blah blah. We didn't talk about them,
and they did good.
Speaker 5 (01:00:39):
And then last year we all were like, hey, the
Broncos are the worst team we've ever seen, and they
did incredibly well compared to that. So you know, we'll
I'm excited to see where we absolutely eat shit this year.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
There we go. That's how we're ended it. That's how
we're gonna end it. That's how we ended it as always.
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
I'm Will, that's Jake, that's Domin, that's cooling.
Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
We are for the fan.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Two weeks time, our division preview show will be here
and uh yeah, it's gonna be exciting.
Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
Everyone take care and uh yeah, cant with to be
so wrong in all these pecks
