(00:03):
Welcome to Soothing POD's daily meditation inthis session will use stillness when faced with
the unknown, encouraging answers to arisespontaneously rather than seeking them out. Let's
start by sitting in an alert, yet relaxed posture. Let your back straighten,
(00:31):
relax your shoulders, and find acomfortable place to rest your arms and
hands. As you breathe deeply, notice if you're holding any unnecessary tension.
(00:54):
Use your exhales to soften, relaxingyour forehead, your eyes, your jaw,
soften your neck, and release anygripping anywhere else in your body as
(01:18):
you give yourself permission to arrive intoyour practice. Now, let your breath
(01:42):
return to an effortless pace. Noticethe easy, spontaneous breath flowing in and
out of your body, and stayas present as you can with your whole
breath, from its very beginning toits very end. As you breathe,
(02:53):
lean into your inhales and exhales, and notice the slight pause that exists between
each part of the breath. Itmay be tiny, but it's there,
this little moment when your inhale endsa suspension before the exhale begins, and
(03:23):
the pause that happens naturally when thebody is empty of breath before it fills
up again. For the next fewmoments, without forcing, just observe the
stillness between your inhales and exhales, the small gap between the ending of one
(03:46):
breath and the beginning of another. And and if thoughts arise, be gentle
(05:20):
and kind as you guide your attentionback to your breath. Follow your inhale
from beginning to end, pausing brieflybefore it transforms into an exhale, And
then follow your exhale until it ends, resting in the stillness and silence between
(05:45):
breaths. M h h h h. And now let your attention widen.
(07:25):
When we're faced with the unknown,or run into the unavoidable process of having
to make a decision, we oftenpull out all our tricks to resolve our
questions. We might think our waythrough endless lists of pros and cons,
moving back and forth between our options, and often we're left even more confused
(07:46):
than when we started. Though itmight seem counterintuitive, silence is frequently where
answers arise. Our meditation practice helpsus quiet the mind, and through stillness
clarity can emerge. We might findpause by sitting on our cushion, taking
(08:07):
a long bath, or walking throughthe woods. But regardless of how we
access silence, clearing our head ratherthan searching for answers is often the best
way to tap into our inner sourceof knowing. Now, gently come back
(08:28):
to your body, feel the groundbeneath your feet, notice your body in
space, and when you're ready, slowly open your eyes. Try tapping into
(08:56):
stillness today and let's meet back heretomorrow.
