Speaker 5 (03:25):
The best I've done is a fourth place finish, which
is still pretty good. But I threatened to body slam
a few people, power bomb a few people through some tables,
and you know they Harwood told me that. The good

it's bad for the bad for the business.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yes, sir, speaking of that Bourbon fantasy football, we got
to comment over on Twitch, which happens every now and then.
I love bourbon and fantasy football me too, So let's
get into it. If you're if you're in draft season
right now. I know I'm drafting in the scott Fishbowl
right now. I have another redraft league that's kicking up

(05:31):
next week. And you know, people ask me, they say,
who are your go tos? Like who are the people
that you can't leave the draft without, Like, you know,
the the guys that you're going to reach for. And
I've heard so many people, whether it be like somebody
taking Brian Thomas Junior as early as the one six
because they knew they wouldn't get him around on the turn.

(05:52):
You know, who are your guys that you think are
going to be just staples for your team? Because you
you know, and Matt, I know you can you can
agree with this that that first pick, those first two picks,
and really even that that first slate of the draft,
you have to get your home runs like you have
to get at least three. I would say that you

(06:14):
know you can lock in and guarantee, you know, and
when you can't, Like last year, I lost CMC early
in the season in the King's Classic, which is a
big analyst tournament they put on and H and I
recovered because I drafted really well in the middle rounds.
Like so, I had staples in the middle rounds and

(06:34):
I hit on the late. I mean I got a
couple of gyms late. JK. Dobbins got me a few
ws through the first half of the season. You know,
that's usually the route for him first half of the season.
But you know, so we're gonna get in. We're gonna
dig into golds here for this first portion of the
of the show. And really we're targeting players three through
nine ADP rounds that that you're gonna make sure that

(06:59):
you get on your squads. So, Matt guest, let us
who's your first one.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
First guy I chose is all reliable George Kittle tight
end for the forty nine ers. I think that he
is the best receiving option on their team. Currently they're
going through kind of this metamorphosis. Brock Purdy is now
a paid man, Deebo Samuel is off the team. Christian McCaffrey,
all things being equal, should be healthy this year. I

(07:30):
think we're going to see a different style of the
forty nine ers offense, and I think the George Kittle
at minimum is going to be the number two target
earner in that offense. And we have seen him when
he is a high volume player, when he starts to
feel himself, he is the epitome of what you want
as a dynamic tight end one and I think we're
starting to see his ADP slip a little bit because

(07:50):
of the age, because of the wear and tear in
his body, and I completely understand that. But the tight
end position is deep, and a top tier tight end
is a league winner. There was this series of years
two or three years ago Travis Kelce was the I
think it was like an eighty eight percent of all
leagues that won championships. He was a part of the
team or some crazy statistic like that. When you have

(08:11):
an elite, top tier tight end, it really does make
your team even more versatile. And I think George Kittle
you can get in the later rounds as a steal
to potentially bring you over the top.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
So let me ask you, say, later rounds i've seen
Kittle go. I mean really on the top side of that,
like round four, you know, round five. I mean, is
that too early to go tight end or is he
that much like of a difference maker dynamically that it's
worth taking him over like or right there alongside like

(08:43):
a Kenneth Walker or you know, well, George Pickens is
probably much later, but you know, like Jackson Smith and Jigba,
like somebody in that tier.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
So I think that the range of outcomes, I'll use
ken Walker as the example there. I think that's probably
a good round that we could see him start to
go the range of outcomes. George Kittle has a realistic
shot to finish at the number one at his position,
and it's a hard position. There are some really good
talent at the top tier of tight end, but I
think realistically, when you start comparing the players down there,

(09:15):
like a ken Walker, I don't see an outcome where
ken Walker finishes at the top of the running back
list or even really comparable top percentage of that position.
George Kittle, we have seen be a tight end one.
We've seen it happen. It's in the range of outcomes.
He's gonna be probably the safety net for brock perty
this year. Now that we're starting to see all the changes,
I think Brandon and Ayuk is gonna be fine, but

(09:36):
it's gonna they're gonna start to wean him back in.
So with George Kittle being there getting all the targets,
I could see him just shooting up the board and
four or five.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
That's the sweet spot for me. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Well, you're getting some love in the chat, Mike said. Uh,
Corey said, agree on Kittle. Mike said, yes, So getting
a little kittle love. By the way, guys, if you're
tuned into the show, feel free. We got some great
minds in this room. Uh you know, drop your questions,
if you you have questions, if you have draft questions,
or maybe even two people that you're debating between at
around ADP, drop it in there and we'll give you

(10:08):
some feedback. Seth, mister body slam himself. Let me know
who's the guy that you gotta have, and you will
body slam somebody else if they if they snipe you from.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
So the guy that I you know, when I got
the pre show notes, the first name that came to mind,
and he's probably on the upper end of this third
and fourth round. But I do see him slip down
some draft boards now because of his age, because of
what is his team has drafted this past year. But
it's Mike Evans for me. Mike Evans is a guy

(10:41):
that I think is because of his age. He's thirty one,
because they drafted the kid from Ohio State. I couldn't
say his name if I had to, if you were
holding a gun to my head right now, I just
couldn't do it. But he is a guy that has
averaged one thousand yards every year he's been in the league.
Baker Mayfield loves him, and as a Cleveland Browns fan,

(11:02):
I can tell you this. When Baker Mayfield walks onto
a target, when he likes the guy, he feeds him
the ball as much as he can. He's never had
any major health concerns. I know the age he's getting
up there, I know they've went younger, but for me,
it's Mike Evans.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I don't mind it. Mike Evans. Somehow, every year, every
year there's some narrative, despite every year he gets a
thousand yards, every year, there's some narrative that somehow pushes
Mike Evans down our draft boards by the time we
get to actual draft season, and so you end up
getting them in like the sixth or seventh round. You're like, cool,

(11:40):
I got a wide receiver one for over a thousand
yards almost guaranteed in the seventh round. Love it, you know,
So that's a good take, seth. Appreciate that got more
people popping in the chat more kittle love, getting a
lot of love on that. Great way to start it off. Monty,
let's see big said, I'll body slam anyone that takes Landlerson. Uh, hey,

(12:06):
who knows, Joe? Who you got? Man who can't leave without?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
So my can't leave without. I left without in Scott
Fishball because I got slick and I planned on reaching
and I just couldn't reach far enough. But that guy
for me right now is Alvin Kamara. He's currently in
ADP looking at like fifty four running back eighteen. Kamara's

(12:31):
worst finish since he's come into the league has been
running back sixteen, so like in his worst case where
he only played fifteen games, he was running back sixteen.
But he's been in the top ten for all but
two seasons. He's been in the league. I get that
there's a murky quarterback situation. I get that that offense
doesn't look so great, but if you look at what

(12:55):
they're doing with the team, they're gonna be running a
lot more plays under More He's averaged around sixty plays
per game, which is going to put them in the
top six to seven in the league. So you have
a running back who's going to be getting dump offs
from either a bad quarterback or an unknown probably bad quarterback,
and then you don't have a lot of receiving talent
outside of Chris Olave, who is a health concern. So

(13:17):
if he's looking to go in the fifth round, I
will happily jump into the fourth to make sure that
I leave with Kamara.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
I don't I don't hate the here's the here's my question, Joe.
And this is just you know, I think that people
are wondering, this is like, when does the cliff come
for Kamara? Because you know, we saw it with Zeke
right like Zeke was that Zeke was consistent, like top ten,
top fifteen every season and then all of a sudden

(13:48):
he just falls off. And I say that falls off,
I mean he drops probably twenty twenty spots in rankings.
But that's a that's a significant drop off for somebody
we're taking in the fourth or fifth round. Right, So
we talked about RB thirty thirty something, you know, or
probably like twenty seven, but you know it is it?
So you're saying that the cliff for Kamara is not

(14:10):
here yet, and the does the fact that you have
young quarterbacks and young quarterbacks inherently do not protect the receivers. Right,
does it worry you that Kamara catches one over the
middle and then boom, his season's done.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
No, you can't live in your fears when you play
fantasy football. And that's why we're talking about guys rounds
three or later. Like if you don't if you're not
willing to take Christian McCaffrey in the first two rounds,
like why do you bother playing this game? So it's
like I'm never gonna be like, oh, don't draft this
guy because he might not be able to survive this season, Like, oh,
don't do this, Like I would rather have Chris Godwin

(14:46):
for the seven games that he had last year where
it was like, hey, like you're in my lineup. You're
putting in wide receiver one numbers and then I go
and find something and replace that rather than oh, like
here's this guy that happened to be on the field
whole season and like he was technically RB eighteen, but
I never felt great about his performance. Like I think
one of the worst things that you can do as

(15:07):
a fantasy player is look at what was the total
points of the year and like, how did that help you?
Because if you have let's take like a couple of
years ago, the Dolphins put up like a seventy burger
on a team and then it was like everybody and
their mother had got like sixty fantasy points that year.
It's like if your guy scored one hundred points on
the season, but sixty of it came in one game,

(15:27):
Like sure, yeah, he might have on average looked good,
but you need to look at like the consistency of
which they're performing, like how often are they performing at
like a starter level? And if it's not like sixty
percenter above, like this isn't best ball, Like it's you're
trying to get into the playoffs and see what happens.
But if they if they're gonna have spike weeks and

(15:49):
all these duds, like finishing some number in total points
means nothing to me, So give me the wins. I
always say, hey, like home field advantage doesn't mean anything
fantasy football. I'm trying to get into the dance and
I'm trying to have the best team when I get
to the dance. Kamara is gonna help me get seven wins.
Kamara's gonna get me seven wins. I don't know if

(16:11):
he's gonna last the whole season. I don't care if
he lasts the whole season. Give me seven wins. Give
me thirteen weeks to get better than everybody else in
my league, and I'm gonna do that, and then we'll
see how the chips fall when the games are played.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Dude, I love I love that. Like just get like
the you know you think about trying to be undefeated,
or just get to the dance.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Get to give me seven wins. That's all that I need.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Let's go. I love it, We're getting some. Let's see
some more in the chat talking about Evans book of
me in more of a slot receiver. He's still a
value in that format.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Out out my boy Meatball, by the way, I hope
he's good.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Meatball's Meatball is that guy? Look, Joe is a legend.
Not surprised. I love his first must have Kamara is
a monster. I agree Mike Evans over under nine to
twenty five. I don't know that you can bet against
him for another thousand. And you know the cool thing

(17:05):
is they're gonna let Baker air it out and they're
going to you know, Mike Evans last year, like there's
not much out there. It's him and McMillan, and so
he's getting the double teams. You put a mecca out there,
you know, you put a healthy wide receiver court. Maybe
that frees him up a little bit, and you know,
I think he's I think we still see some production

(17:26):
there out of Mike Evans. What's up, Brian, Hello, all
in the chat, Let's go Pete's I love Kamara. Kamara
has just been clutch ever since. The third round pick
out of Tennessee comes in and just owns it. Let's
see here, stud take Seth. Can Evans get a thousand yards? Again? Seth?

(17:47):
Can he get a thousand yards.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Until he proves that he can't? I can't bet against it.
Literally every season he's been in the league, he's had
a thousand yards. He barely got there last year, but
he did get there.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, yeah, they got him there. Look at Meatballs even
get some love in the chat. Meatball, appreciate you. Glad
you're back, so ready for this season? Oh, Matt number two?
Who's your second guy you can't leave without? In this draft?

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Well, I know everybody in here is sharp because we
didn't even make it one rotation before I got stiped
by Joe on Kamara. So pick there, Joe. I am
gonna go with O'maron Hampton, the rookie running back for
the Chargers. Last situation is everything in the NFL, and
you are getting a running back who was going to
go into a Jim Harball offense. If you don't know

(18:39):
anything about Jim Harball, he is a hyper, hyper aggressive oddball.
He plays football the old school way, punch you in
the face, and defense stop you from trying to punch
us in the face. And I think that they're going
to at least prior to the Najie Harris news probably
one to two punch. That's going to be a run
heavy lead team that they're going to pass after they

(19:01):
set up the run. Naji Harris firework incident. Let's be real,
it's scary at best. Okay, firework eye injury. Jason Pierre
Paul famously had the firework incident a few years back,
and he just never was the same. Now, he was
a bit older at the time, but he wasn't also
transitioning to a new team and trying to kind of
remake himself. So this is a bit of a step

(19:22):
back for Najie Harris. I'm thinking of him. I hope
he does well. I hope that this doesn't derail anything.
But let's be real. Vision is everything for running backs.
You have to be able to see the hole and
hit the hole instantaneously, and I think that we're going
to have to see Najie Harris now. To believe Najie Harris.
That will benefit the rookie Omarion Hampton to get on

(19:42):
the field early and often in a Jim Harball let offense,
where there will be schemed runs more so than there
will be passes. Ignoring the fact that Harball in the
offseason did say he had a dream that Justin Herbert
was going to be in the Hall of Fame, so
we'll see. I think O'maron Hampton is a steal here
and I think the he has heavy running back one upside,

(20:02):
especially with the unfortunate news to Naji Harris.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Bro you can't make that many vision like statements that.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Got something for everything, and I love it.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Oh Man, I was like, does this take have anything
to do with the fact, like he even said, he's
like the running back has to be able to see
the field and I know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
There was a lot of that, and I think that
they said it was a superficial injury. I'm afraid that
Hampton's being overdrafted a little bit. Even with the Nausey news.
I think that Hampton is somebody that I would rather
trade for in season because they're not going to give
him the reins right away. So if nause wasn't there,
like he's not playing this year, I think that he

(20:46):
would probably go into the second or third round of drafts.
He's sitting in like the fourth round right now. I
feel like with the murkiness of the backfield, I think
that you're going to be disappointed until he claims the role.
So to me, it's just like do I want to
use a fourth round pick there? That feels a bit
steep for me Dynasty, Yeah, no question. He was my

(21:06):
RB two in Dynasty, But like fourth round for a
guy in a split backfield like that, Like I don't
know that one. That one's harder for me to just
kind of make that call.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Here he would have just stayed away from Kamara. It
would have been perfect, man.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yeah, no. Here, here's the thing. So, like when you
talk about and Hampton's one of those that has risen
the boards, right, Like when you like Hampton is being
drafted before Kamara, He's being drafted before Chase Brown. He's
being drafted before Cuba Hubbard, before James Cook, before Joe
Mix and James Connor, like you know, and as we

(21:41):
get down that list, obviously it's a little bit more
desperate you know space there. But like, are you taking
them over Chase Brown? Are you taking them over Cuba?

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Me personally, probably probably Cuba, not Chase Brown.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Fair enough? Fair enough? Hey, real quick? I mean I
missed something in a chat big draft Energy as being
the antie and saying I'm taking the under on Evans
and also calling for a regression on Baker. He will
have a new OC, so we shall see. It's not
a bad take.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Well, the other thing with Baker two is if you
look at his touchdown percentage, he was in the seven
percent like range. So historically quarterbacks that have had that
high of a touchdown percentage tend to drop off a
pretty sizable amount the next year. So I do think
that you have that Disco just mentioned in the chat
as well. They are having this issue with Worth, So

(22:36):
it's like, what's gonna happen with the left tackle that
only not only is a concern from the Baker perspective
and the passing offense, but like what does that do
for Bucky Irving as well? I know that he's more
of a pass protector, but he's obviously going to be
better than whoever the backup is in the run game
as well. So it's like that could really be a
big blow for that offense. Anytime that you have players

(22:58):
in the offseason that are already worried about injuries, like
they're people that I prefer not to draft, I can't
take them off my board. But when it's already before
the season starts, like hey, like this guy isn't looking
too good and he was banged up all season last
year too. It was like he was having all these problems.
There's a lot of skepticism on like why he didn't
get the knee scope sooner so he could be ready.

(23:19):
But I mean, knee surgery isn't fun from experience, so
I get it.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yeah, we got a few more comments in the chat there.
Keep an eye on the doll sneaking in as a backup.
Possibly got here with that Kaman.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Everybody and their mother last year was all Kmali good.
Doll's gonna take over the backfield. He's better than Dobbin's.
He's better than this. He's practically Jesus And what did
he do? Nothing? He's a bump. There's a reason he
was drafted when he was and he's not ever gonna
be a thing. Stop trying to make the money. But
all a thing.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
David's gotta, David's gotta. We haven't really seen a lot
of them now because he sucks. What a hate or Joe,
I'm a certified hater. Well all right, all seth, just
get to get us past the hater raid over here.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
So I'm going with narrative on my second pick. When
I'm thinking sixth, seventh round, I'm looking for value, I'm
looking for production, and uh, this pick really is for
doctor Harwood to uh the commissioner of the SBFFC. Check
out the link to join and maybe face off against
me or get bodies slammed by me. It's your call.

(24:32):
One hurts a lot less than the other. But I'm
gonna go with Tony Pollard, and simply because of the narrative.
He had a thousand yard season last year. He caught
somewhere in the forty to forty five range on on
target on receiving. And the thing about it is, I

(24:53):
think the narrative last year was well, Taise Spears, Taise Spears,
Taise Spears. I think Spears got overdrafted a little bit
last year year Pollard came in and he was still
productive in that role. But the other thing about it too,
I think going in, I think people are afraid because
the Titans just sucked. They were bad. And I think
that the argument against that is they sucked last year too,

(25:15):
and Tony Pollard was still a guy that was productive
in that offense. And you can get a RB one
on a bad team later in the draft and still
get great production for your fantasy team.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
No, the I mean it's their Pollard's possibly, you know,
I can't answer. I can't talk about this question. I
am partial. I worked. I worked down the street from
from Tony Pollard's Folks Barbecue restaurant. You know, I go
in there and grab a barbecue sandwich every now and then.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
You know, he's he's you can't say nothing bad. They'll
spend this.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Support. My god, we still believe in you. You know,
helped the Titans be relevant again. Nashville needs, Tennessee needs hope.
Now that I like Tony Pollard, I think there's a
lot of potential there. I think that cam Ward will
open up that game a lot. I'm interested to see
how that offense pans out. But I mean Tony Pollard's

(26:14):
what like later in that in that range, He's probably
closer to the nine. And so when you get in
around eight to nine, you have a shot at somebody
that could have significant starting capabilities, right, somebody that could
in fact have a handle on the reins for the offense.
You gotta roll with it, right like you got to
give it a shot. So I love that take seth

(26:39):
real quick hit this. Anytime somebody does a super chat,
we want to get to that question immediately, just to
support our listeners. Make sure you like and hit that
subscribe button. But we got meatball coming in in a
start eleven half point PPR half point first down bonus.
I have Nause and Hampton. It's an inherited team, not deep.

(27:03):
Would you be good starting both Harris and Hampton? Uh
in the same week? What's what's your take, Matt? You
you were high on trying to get Hampton. So he's
got Hampton and Nause. Can you do the the running
back duo? Can you do a Gibbs and Monty type thing,

(27:27):
you know, with Nause and Hampton and win.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
I wouldn't want to bet the farm on it. I
think that because of the disclaimer there at the end
where he said the team is not deep, and I
think it's safe. If team's deep, you're really just betting
on all the Chargers running. Is the Chargers running game
going to be more effective than the defense of trying
to stop it? So I think it's almost like a
streaming type of a vibe there are they playing a

(27:51):
bad run defense? If they're playing a bad run defense,
I don't think it's a bad.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
Pick at all.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
However, I don't like investing the rookie and the handcuff
in the same starting lineup. I think it's cool that
you got both. I wouldn't do too, But because you're
not deep, I think it's a safe I think it's
a safer bet than otherwise.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Yeah, getting Tony Tony Pollard should get a lift and
the Titans improving. Cam Ward getting a lot of Tony
Pollard love here in the chat. So there's your answer,
Mike Meetball. You know there's a possibility there. I don't
like it as much as gives him Monty. If you're
looking for that kind of production, I wouldn't. That's probably
not gonna happen. But you do have two very capable

(28:31):
running backs. Hopefully nause can just learn to run straight.
That's all we need Nase to do is learn how
to run straight. He tries to. He tries to dance
too much, and he's not a dancer. That's my only
hit on Nausey.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
But the hard part too, is that not that Hampton
isn't a capable receiver, because you have thirty eight receptions
last year. It's just they kind of have a redundant
role in the offense. So it's not like Gibbs and
Pollard where it's like, oh, like Gibbs is gonna be
ppr Monty probably gets a lot of the goal line work,

(29:08):
like there's a lot of redundancy between the two of them.
And then to go back to the question that you
popped up real quick, but going back to the the Titans,
that was saying, so can Kim Ward be Stroud from
two years ago or Daniels from last year? I mean maybe,
but I don't think that he's somebody that I would

(29:28):
be drafting. Daniels last year was enticing because he had
that rushing upside kind of you expected him to run
because he was capable of doing that previously. Stroud kind
of hit people out of nowhere. I don't think it's
bad to have that as a dart throw. But to me,
that would be like a if he balls out Week
one priority waiver pickup. But I wouldn't add a second
QB and cam Ward in twelve one QB redraft.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yeah, you know, Ward to me follows much more of
a Stroud type, uh you know, narrative like he's not
a bit runner, Like he doesn't have legs like Jaden.
Well he did it in Miami like Jayden, don't he
didn't have it in Miami. He has no legs like Jaden, Dude,
not like Jaden. He has ran crowd, but he don't

(30:16):
have legs like ja.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
He had one hundred and twenty rush attempts in twenty
twenty three for Washington State. He will run the ball.
He will run the ball.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
And if you were young and he was learning the
position of quarterback, but you can't say that he won't
do it because he'll run, he won't do it.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
No, hey, look off line, how was that offensive line?
Because I think when you're looking at a rookie quarterback
that could run like that, a lot of this is
going to be conducive on is he having time in
the pocket to actually make the decision to throw a
lot of these guys on bad teams, they're immediately thrown
thrown into the wolves, and the ones that fail are
usually the ones that can't handle when the offensive line
is not all there. But because he has that athleticism,

(30:56):
I think that that's where you could see the the
I know you hate it, but that's what I think
he can potentially become. Is he's the guy that can
he escape that first sack attempt and get five or
six yards and keep the chains alive.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
So I'm not a PFF guy talking about things that
I'm a hater of. It's a very long list. By
the way, they have Tennessee as the twenty fourth best
offensive line. I do think there's offensive line. But yeah, so,
I mean it's not going to be great.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
All right, Well, we're about to move on to the
next section. Seth Man, appreciate you for dropping the knowledge
this part of the show. Mike Evans, Tony Pollard, you
holl heard it, and also go to sbffc dot com
and sign up for the tournament so that you can
go be body slammed by Seth as he.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
That's fantic to me. You know, if I didn't know
where it was being located, I would have thought it
was in Buffalo acting like that. But it was great
to have you, Seth clear ball no er.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
So, uh, thanks, we appreciate you, and we're gonna bring on.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Hey, guys, I appreciate.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Go ahead, Seth.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
Oh, I was gonna say thanks for having me on.
And anybody that is watching this listen to this that
has not checked out the s BFFC or you're not
sure about it. Great event. Once a year a lot
of camaraderie. I have brothers that I see once a
year and it's all because of that event. And the
cash is good, so give me my money.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
Could you imagine? Could you imagine a body slam off
between Seth and Disco'd be crazy?

Speaker 1 (32:47):
All right, Seth, appreciate you. We're gonna get the We're
gonna bring in a previous s b FFC champion and
Sir Steve Kowski. What's up, Steve? Welcome to the show.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
How's it going, guys?

Speaker 4 (33:06):
What's up Steve?

Speaker 7 (33:08):
Yeah, great commentary, you have fun. Listen to the first
thirty minutes.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Awesome, got a big draft energy, body slams. He's down
and upset. It's like, okay, everybody go to the SDSC tournament.
We have an absolute knockdown drag out that is gonna happen.
That's gonna be something you will not want to be
like you thought.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
I couldn't bet against my guy Disco either. I mean,
I'm just saying that this goes my one on one
like talking about people you can't leave the draft without
in the body slam bawl. He's one oh one, Like.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
All right, so look, uh Steve SBFFC previous champion. Welcome
to the show. We're going to get into this next
segment which we're going to cover the gambles. This is
where we roll the dice. These are the deep players
with possibility, the people that you know, like like you
look at at McLaurin last year, falling all the way

(34:06):
down to like round fourteen. You look, you look at
the year before, Curtis Samuel going in round seventeen, you know,
and leading your team. There's so many people that you
can grab that will change the dynamic, especially as you
get late in the season. And that's what we're a getting.
And you know, Steve from you know, being in the SBFFC,

(34:27):
your league can be won by one waiver claim or
one drafting one of these guys and letting him sit
on your bench till you get to the you know,
the second half of the season. You know, as a
as a previous champion, do you have any of these
that you recall that's done really good for you or

(34:48):
just I mean even when you won, did you have
somebody like that that just appeared out of nowhere for
your team?

Speaker 7 (34:54):
Well, I tell you something funny. My name is Steve Kurowski.
The year I won, drafted Rob Gronkowski and Steven Goskowski
and my team name was Chudnofski, So I thought that
was pretty ironic. Back when I won the SPFFC, it

(35:16):
was the second year and there was sixty teams competing.
Now we're up to two hundred and fifty six or
two fifty.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Four, sixty four to sixty four.

Speaker 7 (35:24):
It's pretty incredible. My cash payout was around twenty five
hundred for that. It's over ten grand now, and that's
just for the main event alone. People I draft seven.
I go down there and I draft seven drafts in
two and a half days. It's it's it's all you do,
you know, draft, eat, drink a little bit.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
But I talked to Brian and my understanding is there
it's not just first place ten thousand. There's all kinds
of ways you win. There's a total of over fifty
six thousand dollars in payouts for a two hundred and
fifty six man tournament. So if you ain't signed up,
if you ain't doing anything. The second weekend in or

(36:09):
was it the third weekend in August? Second weekend in
August fifty's technically.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
The third weekend because the first is on Friday.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
You know, if you're not doing anything SBFFC dot com
sign up. It's gonna be a killer tournament and we're
gonna dive into our gambles right after this video, so
you guys can get another look at what the SBFFC

doctor Brian Harwood directly at Brian dot Harwood at TWC

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Awesome man, So make sure you go check that out.
Let's get into it. Let's get into the deep grabs.
The sleeper candidates. You know, we got we got one,
we got Beaches, Cardinals sixteen, the chat. I need to
know these sleepers. So Steve, previous SBFFC champion going after

(37:58):
it again. Who is your number one deep grab? High
upside risk, but all the reward that you're going you're
leaning into going into the season. Right.

Speaker 7 (38:10):
The way I look at this is the spf a
C starting lineup is eight positions, you know, quarterback, two
running backs, two wide receivers, a tight end, two xbox.
So anything after that is just free filling for you
during your bye weeks or if you hit big. So
depending on what list you're looking at, whatever I like,
Cooper Cup, the early list I printed off had him

(38:34):
in the eleventh round. He might be going a little
bit higher or whatever, but I like him to still
prove to the league and his old team that you know,
he's still wore something.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
You still think he got some juice in him.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (38:49):
And I mainly say that because when Stefan Diggs moved
on from Minnesota, he might have been younger or whatever.
But but these guys who end up on new cities,
you know, for the fan base, I think they want
to prove something. And so I'm I'm thinking Cooper Cup
for at least a first year in Seattle, you know,
might be worth something, if you know, if you can

(39:09):
give that value.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
I don't hate. I mean, you know, every year there's
these talented guys. They get dropped way back because their
age or they had a previous injury, you know, and
you end up getting them so late. Like I'm in
my Scott Fishball draft. We are in double digit rounds
and Cups hanging in there. I mean, he'll probably be
there around thirteen or fourteen.

Speaker 6 (39:34):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
You know, it's that's a good take. And they need
they need you know, they need receivers. They obviously they
let locket go. They let DK go. So it's you know,
it's JSN and cup and hopes and prayers, you know,
so I love it. Steve Matt, who's uh, who's your

(39:56):
number one on your list?

Speaker 5 (39:57):
All right?

Speaker 3 (39:58):
It feels gross. You guys ready to get disgusting. James
Connor Arizona Cardinals running back. I know everybody thinks that
this is gonna be the year that Tray Benson takes over.
And I completely understand why. The roster situation is the
grenade in the hand. I just believe they're gonna throw
the grenade. It's not gonna explode. Trade Vinson had high

(40:18):
draft capital. He was a third round, second pick in
the third round. He is gonna get better. He is
going to be more involved, But I don't believe he
is going to be so involved that James Connor cannot
be a low end RB two, high end RB three
on your roster. Nobody covets aging running backs. He is
football guys consensus running back nineteen. So you're going to

(40:39):
get a little bit of a value there. It's a
low cost.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
He is steady.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Adding he's not sexy. You have to kind of take
some of the boring plays the one yard two yard,
hits the back of the lineman.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
And falls down. Plays that sucks.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Nobody likes watching that. But what I love watching is
when it's second in goal and he's going through the line.
He's not, but he can have those weeks that are
ten fifteen points that will not lose the game for you.
When you're getting and you're looking for the gambles, you
have to find the guys that have the floor, that
won't lose the week, with the upside that could potentially

(41:14):
win the week. And I think that because the Cardinals
offense is so weird at best, I think that James
Connor is a safe option for this team. And while
it does feel like a trash pick, I do have
a tendency to be a fantasy raccoon. So I am
all in on James Connor as my first gamble of
don't snipe me guys.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
I feel like my biggest beef with them is saying
that he's not sexy, saying Connor, I.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Don't know that he's shifty.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
He's shifty, and you've ever seen that dude's back like dude's.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
We can't This is not where the conversation's going we're
not talking about James Connor's back.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
You haven't seen the picture, clearly, it's insane.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
I have, I haven't.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
It's legit like.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
It's it's like, this is like the all the thigh pictures,
Like when Mike Davis he went to the falcons and
there's the pictures went up.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
Four rounds because of the quality.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
You know, it's crazy. It's crazy. So if you want,
if you want to make sure that that somebody that
you don't want climbs the draft boards, just get pictures
of the thighs and then four round up boom, got it?
Uh No, that's you know, James Connor is is the
definition went healthy of mister consistent. You know, Mike said

(42:40):
one about Connor. He's such a he has such a
safe floor. Now, I do think that this is a
year where we could see a little bit more of
Benson than we got last year. But I love to take.
I mean, he is consistent, and you are going to
get him laid because that is the narrative. People are
looking for Ben to uh to start, you know, making

(43:04):
his way in right like. Uh so that's a good take.
The wreck the Fantasy Raccoon Bar was good.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
I was proud of that, So I appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Off the cup, all right, Joe, give us, give us
a deep must grab.

Speaker 4 (43:22):
This is crazy because I'm actually a hater about this player,
but I think that the upside is worth it. So
I think a caveat of about what I'm about to
say is that if you are in these later rounds
and you are drafting players that are gonna be like
the wide receiver three for their team, they might have
like a one nice week, Like you're drafting wrong in

(43:45):
my opinion, right, So I will draft one quarterback, I
will draft one tight end, and then they're probably gonna
be like in the ninth, tenth round. And then after that,
I already have three or four running backs, three or
four wide receivers. So it's like that's my team and
everything else is a lottery ticket, right, because it doesn't

(44:06):
matter if a guy can score eight points every week, right,
it's not gonna do anything. They're never gonna see the lineup.
They're just a roster clogger that's not doing a whole lot.
So go for guys that could potentially be a number
one option on their team. So a guy that I'm
gonna be targeting like in those like tenth eleventh rounds.
Give me Keyon Coleman's gonna be the second year receiver
for Buffalo, right, I don't see it in Keyon Coleman.

(44:30):
He had a poor contested catch rating. If you saw
the video from him a couple of weeks ago, like
they were talking about his route running like it looked
pretty rough, but he was turning a corner there a
bit in the middle of the season. He had one
hundred and twenty five yard game at one point. And
there's no real clear cut number one option in Buffalo
who's tied to one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

(44:50):
We've seen Josh Allen support wide receiver ones. I don't
know if he can be the guy, but let's find
out and see and if it's not working out, I
can cut him. And that's an easy cut for me.
I won't lose sleep about it. So it's like, see
what you got. You're getting him late. He's not gonna
be in your lineup week one. But if you're talking
about longevity and people that are gonna be a risk

(45:11):
that could win big, you're not losing your league because
you draft key On Coleman. In the tenth round, right,
So it's like take the risk. If he pops, then
you've got something big. Personally, I would probably trade him off.
But like who else is like khalishak here he is
at best And I say this with the most respect
because in his prime he was solid. He's Cole Beasley.

(45:33):
Cole Beasley is never going to be this like dominant
alpha wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
He's a good.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
Player, he has a role on that team, but he's
not gonna be a wide receiver one in fantasy. It's
just not gonna happen. Coleman could be that guy, So
let's see it.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
You know who I would rather have than Coleman in
that offense?

Speaker 4 (45:53):
Kink No, No, Ray Davis.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
I love Ray Davis, but he is not the one
I'm looking for. I'm Joshua Palmer. Lock it in, Josh
Joshua Palmer steadily performed when the when it came his way.

(46:20):
You put him in an offense where there is no
clear cut one. I promise you you will get better
than freaking what round eighteen, round twenty pick production out
of him. Everybody said the same thing when Curtis Samuel
went there. But Josh Palmer can actually do what they
need Keon Coleman to do.

Speaker 4 (46:37):
Is this Elijah Morri Raser say, what is this, Elijah
Mori Raser?

Speaker 3 (46:42):
No, I feel like there was coke and Pepsi on
the table and you're like, no, no, no, I'd prefer
RC Cola.

Speaker 4 (46:49):
That's what I feel like that.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
That's okay, I'm good. But here's the thing. These takes
are about free people, you know, like like free player
that can win you your league. And I promise you
by the end of the season, Matt, we will have
you back on and you will go. Dude, where the
heck did Josh Palmer come from?

Speaker 4 (47:11):
All I know is my take was so good that
somebody just lit off fireworks.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
So look it was well, I know that was That
was the Christian Kirk take to hit the chat. Christian Kirk,
get him some love, Steve your point on cups getting
some love. Let's let's see, Uh, Kinka healthy and stronger,
Kincaid lead Buffalo, great tight end. I like Kinkaid. I'm

(47:36):
not hating on Kinkaid. They just still need a wide receiver.
And uh, you know, Coleman was actually on my bust
list coming out because you know, with Florida State. He
wasn't an amazing route runner, and it was a complete
change in the way he had played football. You go
play football in Miami, you don't know what the cold is.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
You know.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
He get the buffalo and then they start trying to
throw him in the ice box and he's like, nah,
but I'll wear this bubble jacket. I'm like, bro, you
ain't gonna do it.

Speaker 4 (48:05):
I love I love ke On Coleman the person. If
you ever did you see the video of him just
like randomly naming NBA players from like the two thousands.
The Bills tried to do like one of the like
the videos, they're like, name a random basketball player and
he sat there for five minutes with the whole team,
like people would come over and then they would just
start having battles of like random players, like he's such

(48:27):
a great guy. Like I don't see it on the field,
but like I want I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
I don't hate it. I don't hate it.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
You can hate it. Say what so you can hate it.
I don't care from one hater to another. You can
hate it. It's fine.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
I will say this is like one of the like
I feel like in our in our reign of doing
shows together. This is probably the most we've disagreed in
the show and like had a little bit of that.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
Yeah, we'll hug it out after, we'll take care of
it in the post.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
It's still my boy Blue, all right. So you got
a little love David Tate, love Coleman, and best ball.
There you go, Joe, I.

Speaker 4 (49:05):
Suck at basketball. That's why I listen to the Big
Draft energy. So help me out him.

Speaker 7 (49:09):
And can I do a shout out to David Tate?
He comes down to SPFFC every year.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
Awesome, Well then he already knows. Make sure SBFFC dot
com go sign up ten thousand dollars first prize. You know, Steve,
I've debated I might try to come for that money.
You know, I feel like that's unfair, but like it's
like who can turn down money? You know what I'm saying, Like, uh.

Speaker 4 (49:35):
Let's get his shirts on his wall. Steve, you got
this in the bag?

Speaker 1 (49:38):
Yeah, he come, DoD there's only one shirt on my wall.
That's a little bit questionable, okay, but that's fun. Uh No,
So okay, let's let's let's keep going. We got we
got about ten minutes left the show. I want to
make sure we get to some some more deep sleepers.
You know, Steve, who's your number two You You I

(50:00):
think has significantly high upside that's being drafted late.

Speaker 7 (50:06):
I don't know about late, but I'm gonna go with
Ricky Piersoll San Francisco. And this goes back to what
Mani Matt Money was talking about with George Kittle is
I like to I like to look at stuff that
most guys I talked to like don't even know exist.
And I look at a chart every year of net
at net reg net rest edge days, which means like

(50:31):
like San Francisco has plus eight rest days over their
opponent each week or a random given week or whatever.
I think that matters, like Las Vegas is at the
bottom of that list with minus nineteen and Detroit's plus
thirteen and San Francisco sits at plus eight. And also
I saw something where they have like the best turnaround

(50:52):
strength of schedule.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
Yeah, they have the easiest schedule in the league this year.

Speaker 7 (50:56):
Yeah yeah, And so I kind I like to think
that those things are just tools for you to look
at it. It may it may not win your league
or whatever, but it's just a tool for you to
look at.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
And so I'm going in.

Speaker 7 (51:07):
I'm going all in on San Francisco forty nine Ers
players if you can get him at value, so don't
overdraft him. But if you can get somebody like Ricky
pearsall who Deebo Samuel's not there anymore. You know, he
had a very good week seventeen and eighteen last year.
So I'm gambling on that.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Anybody that could get shot play foball after as a
winner in my books. So give me the Brian Robinson,
Pierce all Stack.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
You know, I don't hate the Piers all Take, you know,
like they're they're still looking. And he really started to
come on towards the end of the season. You know,
it could easily be a significant possibility that he I
don't think he leads kittle, but that he leads the
receivers in production in that offense. So I mean, I

(51:59):
love it, good one, Steve, and and appreciate the stat
carry too. Like you know, some of these little factors
we don't look at. We don't look at things aloft
often about like you know, look at depth of target.
We don't look at uh you know, there there how
many even the percentage number of targets they get, or

(52:19):
how they perform in any given position. You know when
they when teams try to play people out of position, right,
that totally inhibits their production. It just I love it.
I love the deeper look at the game, Matt, Who
is your number two?

Speaker 3 (52:36):
Aaron Jones? Running back to the Minnesota Vikings. The quarterback
situation there is sketchy at best. Do you guys remember
when everybody loved JJ McCarthy. Do you remember when all
the good press was going on and he was I'm
a JJ hitter as well, and I am a very
big Sam Darnolds fan, so very excited for him, and

(52:56):
Seattle kind of bumming. Hold on, h.

Speaker 1 (53:04):
You're the guy. You're the guy in Dynasty that I
am selling Donald to right now because we know with
that bad offensive line, by week five, he's gonna be
half broken and we're gonna be getting We're gonna begin
Jalen Milroe, which we all want to see.

Speaker 4 (53:22):
Yes, I call Donald pack man because he's always seeing
them ghosts.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Remember this. Would you rather have JJ McCarthy unproven, no snaps,
with a lot of weird training camp Ota stuff or
Sam Donald? When you saw what you got last year.
I'm of the mindset that you would rather have the
Sam Donald thing, and I think we're gonna see that McCarthy.
Is it Donald? Maybe not yet as far as what
Donald's experience as a veteran in the league. And I

(53:49):
also believe that this team as a whole, because of
this transition, is going to take a step back. And
I believe they could be in the toughest division in
the NFL with the Lions, Bears, and Packers taking up
of their games. So I think because of this and
the fact that Aaron Jones is probably the third or
fourth best option on this offense, that he's going to

(54:10):
get pass catching opportunities because he is going to get
one on one coverage in passing opportunities, and if the
quarterback is not as good, I could see them leaning
on the run game. I could see him being a
safety net for JJ McCarthy. And I just don't believe
he's going to command attention from the defense, and if
the defense is not worried about scheming against you, you're
going to have more opportunities to score points. He's always

(54:32):
been consistently good. He's like Alvin Kamara that you buy
off a team, you know, you know what you're kind
of getting. It's not you're not gonna get a six
touchdown explosion, but you've got that versatility at running back
position that Okay, there's a I'm gonna get one game
where I'm gonna get fifteen to twenty, but I'm probably
gonna have a couple of games that are gonna be
like six, and I'm gonna be bummed about it. I

(54:53):
think the upside outweighs the low.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
With Aaron Jones, though, that is amazing team move. Oh
I've never bought that was That was Sam Donald. Sam
Donald was the guy you bought off timu uh. And
then he goes to and then he goes to the
Vikings and we get relevance because they have an amazing
offensive line and they have amazing weapons and amazing coach.

(55:16):
And so now he goes to Seattle, where does a
completely different situation. So for me in Dynasty, he is
a sale in Redraft. I'm not with you, Matt. I
appreciate it. I can see it. I can see it.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
That's all right. I'm a bargain shopper.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Hey, I love the bargain shopping. I mean I seen
my wife to Goodwill often. That's where I got my
last yes, sir, And you wouldn't even know it, all right,
Joe drop number two?

Speaker 4 (55:51):
All right?

Speaker 5 (55:51):
Man.

Speaker 4 (55:51):
So, like I said, I don't like taking quarterbacks and
tight ends early just because it makes me uncomfortable, and
I never liked the look of my team. So I'm
looking atquarterbacks outside of the top twelve in drafts, people
that are drafted over the one hundredth pick. This guy
slots in right now is QB thirteen. And this is
actually a conversation that Tyler and I had before the show.

(56:14):
So if we're looking at quarterbacks that I think that
can pop. Somebody that I don't think is getting enough
love this year, and I think that's gonna outperform ADP
by quite a bit is Dak Prescott. When Dak's been
healthy and played all sixteen games or whatever, he's been
a top ten or better quarterback every year. There's a
lot of questions in Dallas about who's going to be

(56:37):
the running back of choice, and honestly, I don't think
it matters. I think everyone on that team sucks. So
I don't think Javonte's the guy. I don't think Miles
Sanders is really doing all that good too drunk to
take that chicken. And I don't think Jayden Blue is
gonna be worth the daying either. So for me, it's like,
how are they gonna move the ball? They're gonna pass
it to CD, they just acquired George Pickens, They're going

(56:58):
to be throwing the ball a lot. The guy that's
throwing the ball is going to be doing it, and
it's gonna be Dak. So to me, it's like I
can get Dack very late. Let's make it happen and
then pair him with somebody that has like a bit
of rushing upside, or just drop him if you feel
like you're not getting the production. But to me, you
can get him for basically nothing, so let's ride with it.

(57:21):
I think that he can be like the QB six
to QB eight in that range, and if you're looking
at like best ball, he's a great stackable player.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
Nice look, even even Mike said, equals winning stack. Uh,
you know it's it's it's good, it's good, all right.
So I'm actually gonna drop one that I've been taking
in a lot and a lot of leagues, and typically
I try to let I try to let our guests

(57:52):
roll with the show, and I just kind of banter
and go. But I think somebody that gives not quite
mclauren vibes, but that you can get in the last
almost the last round of your draft this year. And
I'm probably gonna get laughed off the stage here, but

(58:16):
I'm getting a lot of shares of DeAndre Hopkins. Oh,
I know. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. Follow me here.
Here's the thing. Lamar last year, through over four thousand yards,

(58:37):
forty plus touchdowns, he only ran for four. They're trying
to have him throw the ball more. What is the
one type of receiver that Lamar has never had? Planned
He's never had somebody that can go up and get it,
somebody that can do the corner ball. You know what
I'm saying. It's like he hasn't had that receiver. You know,

(59:00):
he's making do with Zay Flowers, who's a great slot receiver,
and he's making people like Rashad Bateman relevant again, right
like he you know, it's so you give him somebody
like that, and you know, DeAndre Hopkins has got a
bad rap because he went to Tennessee and he had
a quarterback that couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, right,
and then he goes to Kansas City and it was

(59:24):
probably one of the years that we've seen Mahomes struggle
the most to get the ball to to his receivers,
you know. And so there's and he's old all this stuff,
But I think he could easily when you're talking about
when you're talking about like round nineteen, round twenty, Listen.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
Man, if you have a twenty round draft in a
red draft league, you just need to shorten your bench, okay,
and then.

Speaker 1 (59:51):
Okay, so like let's go round seventeen possibilities right, Like,
you know, he a previous number one wide receiver, somebody
that's worked out hard all off season. You don't think
that he could he could give you round seven to
ten value when you think about draft I do. I mean, shoot,

(01:00:14):
all he has to do is go for like seven
hundred and fifty yards and seven touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
There's no way.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
If you got seven touchdowns, you look like a savant.

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Put it on the board, baby, on board. There's no
way the board.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Who board board? No.

Speaker 7 (01:00:34):
Look, this is like the Jerryatric version of fantasy football talk.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Please love you Tyler. But look at the end of this,
if there was if if if I could count the
amount of times that I got crap for takes and
then it ended up resurfacing, it would be crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
You said, seven hundred and fifty yards and seven touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
I'm in and I can run a four to four.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Hey, look, we will revisit it when when when.

Speaker 5 (01:01:06):
I you know what, we will let it go.

Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
Let me remind the people that I too have about.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
It ain't like this one, baby.

Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
It's not. I got this one on Amazon. It's nice,
got the winged eagle.

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Look we're talking about here's the key guys, and this
is you know, the whole portion of the show. See. Look,
I kind of like Hopkins last round, me too. Hopkins
will be available on waivers, Like it's it's literally free free, right.
And when you talk about like grabbing, you're grabbing somebody

(01:01:43):
like you're you're grabbing Tyler Lockett hoping that he's gonna
produce more. You know, you're grabbing, you're grabbing players like
you're grabbing deep tight ends that that you think are
gonna produce more. Like it's crazy, Like what's your trying
to do in these late round grabs. Is these are
pot shots, right, Like yep, And if I'm trying to

(01:02:06):
get somebody that I think can actually be relevant in producing,
why why not somebody with a resume? I mean that's like,
is Nick Chubb a complete bust this year because of
his injury? In the fact?

Speaker 7 (01:02:20):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
And so we're saying, we're saying in the same realm
that Nick Chubb can have can have a year alongside
Joe Mixon because they're both half elderly, you know, in
running back terms, right, like playing in the same offense,
that they can both that they can both be productive.
Why can't a DeAndre Hopkins be productive? You know? Or
we're talking about Cooper Cup being productive coming off an

(01:02:43):
injury riddled year, they're like the same A. Actually Hopkins
may be younger than Cup, you know what I mean.
So it's like the the key is looking for players
with high ups and it's not just older players. You
can look at younger players too. You look at a
Cedric Tillman. We're still waiting for wide receiver to one
to emerge in the Browns offense. Like sure, right now

(01:03:07):
it's Jerry Judy, but is it really Jerry Judy?

Speaker 6 (01:03:10):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
You know, like we're still waiting on some of these
people to pop off, and and I think there's an
easy route even like you look at a Jalen Wright.
Jalen Wright is free, he's free.

Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
I would much rather have Jalen Right as my last pick.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
Many on your right, because we know Devon A. Chang
can't stay on the field. Like we're gonna get Jaalen
Right and Jalen Wright's gonna be great. You need you
grab there you go, that one's free too, But.

Speaker 7 (01:03:38):
Go ahead, Steve, Yeah, didn't Kate Aughten help win two
games last year for fancy Kate.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
Aughten helped a lot of people and Kate Onten right now,
it's crazy even in tight end premium leagues, Kate Onton
is being drafted like a tight end.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
What eighteen or twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
That's fine that they have thirty seven receivers and no
left tackle.

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Well, that's even better for Auten.

Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Not if he has to stay in in block.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
He's not going to stay in in block. He's not
a blocker. They're going to get him all out in
the flats. But you know, either way, I digress again,
point made in the fact that you need to be
like right now is a great time to be looking
at the looking at these at these teams and trying

(01:04:31):
to find the people.

Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
Like when you look at your pick, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
Sixteen seventeen eighteen or eighteen, nineteen twenty, however long your
league is right, you want to target people that have upside,
don't You're not drafting a safe player in those rounds.
You already have your safe players, you already have your roster.
You're trying to get somebody that by the second half
of the season or any given week, can give you

(01:04:55):
the production you need. You need a bye week plug. Well,
you know, Marvin Mims catches two forty yard bombs, you know,
like you you need those those players. That's who you're
looking for, or you're looking for somebody that emerges, right,
and we see that every year, especially at the running
back position, Especially at the running back position, there is
such an injury riddle position. We see people that emerge

(01:05:16):
and it's always a waiver wire scramble, Keith Mitchell, everybody
get them, you know, like as soon as Joe Mixon accident,
it's gonna be a literally riot to get Nick Chubb,
you know, Like Jordan Mason was mentioned in the chat.
You know, there's all kinds of players with high upside,
especially rookies, like if Pachaco gets hurt again, you better

(01:05:39):
watch out for Smith's coming, you know, like it's so
target those type of players. Don't waste it on trying
to get somebody that's not grab Keenan Allen late, he's not.
We don't know where he's gonna play at, but we
know if he plays, he's gonna be decent.

Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
I'll do that. I'll do that.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
You had me, man, I know it. Look, these are
high upside plays. They are all risk, but they're also
all reward.

Speaker 7 (01:06:08):
Right, there's root for Keenan Allen on your bench at
SBFFC twenty rounds deep.

Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
There you go. There you have it. Hey, thank you
for tuning in tonight. It's been a pleasure, Steve, absolute
pleasure having you on the show. Matt Man, the Puns,
