Speaker 1 (00:26):
What's up? What's up? Everybody? We are back. Obviously, we
took last week off because we didn't want to interrupt
your Valentine's dates with your honeys if you had them,
if you didn't. We didn't want to interrupt your lonely
time of reminding yourself that you're alone. Uh no, I'm
just kidding. But we were not here. We are here now,
(00:49):
and I've got a crew with me. I got Joe,
I got Brian, and I got my guy from his
couch in his living room here in Saint Dennis in
the house. What's up, airbody?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Man, your Valentine's da must have been way more fun
than mine.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
It was very fun, by the way, I'll need to
get into all that.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I feel personally attacked there.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I'm in New Digs and I haven't set up a
streaming room here yet. So you got me like six
hours before work. You got me and my man cave
down here set up to watch hockey and I'm on
the couch.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Too many men on the ice last night. By the way,
let's learn the rules.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, yeah, this is This is worse than listening to
Kansas City opponents bitch about the refs.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
You know what it was funny.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I've been saying this to American fans on Twitter all
day from Saturday when they won. All week, hockey was
the biggest thing in the world. Then last night when
Canada won, Suddenly it's just an exhibition game and nobody cared. Anyways,
what do you have.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
It's just like my fantasy football takes. As I get
new information, I changed my opinion and it's not wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I just know new stuff now.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Righting with scrimmage that didn't matter, but I mean still look.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Speaking of new, it is new. It is time for
twenty twenty five. We are in the off season. Everybody
is tired of the chiefs, refs, saga and the will
there be a three peede? We are ready for new champions.
We are ready for the combine. We are ready for
the draft. And speaking of combine, my god, Brian, I
(02:26):
know that you are gonna be there at the combine.
Tell us a little bit what you're excited to see.
Maybe a couple of players you're really excited to see
work out. You know, I think there's a dynamic in
the NFL where you see people on film, right, but
then when you actually see them in real life, and
you see their burst and their quickness and like how
they run and move. Sometimes it changes that viewpoint right
(02:50):
like that that it factor versus just game speed or
things like that. Are there anybody that you're really pumped
to see? What are you looking forward to?
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Honestly, I'm just glad I'm getting in there. I'm gonna
scope out Chris Ballard, him and I gonna sit down,
We're gonna have a nice long chat. We're gonna make
sure the franchise moves in the right direction this offseason.
Uh huh No. But on the on the series, like,
I'm super pumped to be out there, I'm gonna be
cranking out content out the wazoo that we'll be dropping
here on the Fantasy Football Advice Network. Obviously, you know,
(03:21):
we've got a hunter going out there. He's you know,
going out as a dB, but we're also gonna see
maybe some wide receiver workouts, So just kind of seeing
him in the mix a little bit, getting to really
check out these quarterbacks. You know, I know we have
kind of like a consensus top three in these quarterbacks,
but where would they fall in previous drafts? You know,
obviously somebody's got to be the one, but where would
they be a true one if we had some of
(03:41):
the guys from last year, So just kind of seeing
how they perform. And then the running backs. This running
back room is absolutely stacked. So once you get past
the top name guys, when you have you know, some
of like Devin Neil and Ollie Gordon, like, let's see
some of them really start climbing into there to like
the top four, top fives, you know, some of these
top end metrics.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
You know, Aaron, I know you've been already digging in
a little bit into rookies. You know, this is a
heavy running back set. You know, I feel like the
past couple of years, especially last year, we saw a
lot in the wide receiver room. You know, this feels
like it could have some potential beast running backs and
some guys that you might get later in drafts. Is
(04:23):
there anybody that you're really like looking at excited about.
You know, as you just kind of started doing your
off season research.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I've learned there's nobody I'm not excited about, and there's
nobody I am excited about until after the combine. Going
into the combine, my board is five hundred players long.
And then we'll narrow it down. Actually, Brian, it's funny,
I didn't know it was you who was going. I
got creds last minute, but I couldn't make the trip,
and I said, damn it. You know what, I can't
afford the hotel last minute. Tell Brian, I'm sleeping on
(04:53):
this coach. But I didn't know what Brian it was.
Brian's going, Brian and somebody else. So but I could
you swing it? So you get to go all by yourself. Well,
you guys get to go. No, you know what, I
know you want to talk running backs. The biggest thing
I want to learn out of this rookie class is
actually Hunter.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Travis Hunter. That's the one.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I know you mentioned it, Brian. That's the one. I'm
just dying. It's all I spend my time on. I mean,
we have to data here. We Once we start getting
some combine metrics, then I dive into my numbers. But
for now, it's just kind of I want to see everyone,
and I want to be able to quickly write a
line through some names here next week and circle some others.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Well, you know, I know, Hunter's probably super intriguing for
you as like an IDP guy you know, because there's
a realm where he's actually I mean, if they give
him some dual roles, right, some dual capabilities where you
see really significant untapped effectiveness. You know, is that do
(05:54):
you think that that's a possible ability in the NFL?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Or that's where the issues are coming in on several
different fronts. I reached out to Sleeper, and I can't
get an answer definitively on how they're going to score it.
So what I want to know is, say, like I
play a lot of IDP, say by some slim chance
he does play full time on both sides of the ball,
I think it's very, very unlikely. I think he's going
(06:19):
to be a full time corner who plays maybe fifteen
to twenty five percent of wide receiver snaps. So I
think it's going to be a moot point. But say
he does manage to play on both sides of the ball,
how are they going to score in IDP? Because if
they score it, where I have one guy who can
score me double points, he's the most valuable player in
IDP rookie drafts. If he doesn't get he can only
(06:42):
get one point or scored on one he's a great
IDP rookie. I want nothing to do with him on
the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yeah, I mean just a guy simply that you can
play in an IDP position and then also can go
out there for maybe like a red zone package, go
in there and catch you a touchdown, drop an extra
six eight points just like that. That is yeah, like
you said, invaluable as you would see there for for
those leagues.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Even though they doffy though, like what happened in previous years,
Like let's say like Trey Hendrickson last year, like when
he caught the cut the touchdown pass, Like did you
get offensive points for him?
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Or like what did they do?
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Because I don't I could see how they could limit
you on like hey, like Taysom Hill is not a quarterback,
we're not playing him at quarterback or like he is.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
But if they do stuff on the field, can they
not give you points for that?
Speaker 3 (07:29):
I was trying to think of that if there were
any situations where it came up, and I don't I
couldn't remember, Like you said, Hendrickson, I don't remember actually
how that was scored. I feel like they're special teams,
you know, like a hunter. I feel like if he
does kick returns or something, they might count that. But
if he's a wide receiver out there, I have no
idea how they're going to score this, and no one
(07:51):
from sleeper has confirmed or denied what the heck they're
gonna do. You know what else I want to add
into this, By some slim chance, if he does play
full time on both sides of the ball, that's also terrifying,
because now he has twice the chance of getting injured.
It's gonna happen. So I don't know, he's the most intriguing.
He's absolutely terrifying if you're an offense only there They're like,
(08:12):
I see him going as the one to Zho six.
There's no way I'm touching him in the first round
of offense only I don't even know if he's gonna
play offense.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, no, they they did say that, you know, like
as a as a route runner, Like obviously he's an athlete, right,
He's a stellar athlete, and an athlete can win, right now,
athlete can be coached. But you know, as far as
his like his route running abilities, you know, like they
weren't as strong. But obviously playing dB, you've got a
(08:41):
structure of high pointing the football. So there's a ton
of possibility with him. I am also intrigued. I'm with
you in an offense, only I'm not that interested in
going for him early. There's some other players that I
have that I.
Speaker 6 (08:57):
Would like to get a hold of.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
But you know, it's this class is full of people
like that. They're just like on the fringe on like
where you're gonna really value them. But you know, I
think most people probably are gonna look to take him
up there in that range.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Well, he's he's going as the one oh six.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
I don't have if this is no this is two QB,
so the one oh six. I see the mock draft
that Pat Fitzmorris did and he has him as the
two to oho nine. Even that seems a little high.
But like, I don't want him. I forget one oh six.
I don't even have him as the top six receiver.
I just I don't think he's gonna play like that much.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
We're gonna have.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Such an interesting evaluation because there is something to be
said of like, hey, like how good can you play
when you're playing the whole game? And if he's focused
on one side, how much better can he be.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Well, he's arguably the best defensive player in the draft.
I don't even think it's arguably. I think he is.
He he's gonna be one of the top defensive backs
in the league from day one. I don't see he's
not going to be the wide receiver one in the league.
He's far better as a cornerback than a wide receiver.
I don't see why any team would draft him and
(10:13):
not play him full time as a corner.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I think the only situation that I could see unfolding,
and based on how he's going to the combine, I
don't think this would happen. But if he says, hey,
I only want to play wide receiver because they get
paid more. Yeah, But I mean, if he's going to
the combine saying I'm primarily a cornerback, I feel like
he's setting himself up for that because I do think
(10:36):
he's going to get drafted higher as a quarterback when
he would as a wide receiver.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
That's a fair assessment.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
So, you know, you guys know, during the show, we
like to you know, go over to the Fantasy Sports
Advice Network and answer some questions live, and I'm going
to tap into this one because I think it's going
to go into some rookie conversation and some free agency conversations.
So we're gonna hop over there right after this video.
Speaker 6 (11:08):
We are here.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Every time we got one up here, and I've got
to kinda.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Tyler many time. Every time you play that ad and
I see the Reddit section, I get triggered all over.
I hate fantasy all Reddit. It is a horrible place.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Why I love it.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I can't stand it.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
I just you can't win.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
It doesn't matter what you write, you can't win.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
You definitely have to come correct, and you definitely have
to like come in with a pretty firm stance.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I know you can.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Write one plus one equals too, and someone's going to
argue you're wrong, and it's just based on Donald Trump
or or you know, whatever it is, they're gonna find
some way to make it. Anyways, let's move on before
I get triggered.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Please, I think we're past that.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
So I had to scroll up a little bit because
Brian had his answer down here in the chat on
this question. But you know, this is Geezer and uh,
you know, real quick, just so you guys know, on
the Fantasy Sports Advice network, you have General.
Speaker 6 (12:38):
Everybody has free access to the General channels.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
This is the Football General where you know everybody is
talking you know, fantasy football, and you can post your question.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
People go in interact, you know, check in with you.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
So this is one from the Geezer and he said,
you know, question of the day, Dak Prescott.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
Is he a bargain or a bust?
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Do you think Jones will draft sign another receiver that
demands some defensive attention to help lamb And will you
know he draft the running game? What is the projection
for Dak this year? And Dak is obviously like one
of those like those polarizing people. I'm not saying polarizing
is in like everybody is like, oh man, the talent.
I'm saying polarizing is that you're either on one side
(13:25):
of you love Dak or you were on the other
side of Dak needs to go. But he's that middle
player where you can really make arguments both ways. Right,
So you know, going into this season, you know, and
maybe you can start us off, Joe or are you
are you in on Dak?
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Are you ready for them to move on?
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Or what do you think? Do you think Jones, you know,
does anything in the draft to actually help them.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
So if we look at the last full healthy season
that Dak had, Dallas had pretty prolific passing off, they
didn't have really much on the running side, and they
had a pretty porous defense that forced them to.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Throw the ball a whole lot.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Right.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
One of the.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Big things that concerns me about Dak Prescott, which wasn't
the case before he had all these different injuries, is
that he's very much not a scrambler that he once was,
where he would take off, run, get you some yards
and up the floor a little bit. I think what
we're seeing in fantasy football today, especially as you have
(14:35):
these kind of new wave of quarterbacks coming out, in
order to be truly fantasy relevant, you have to have
some semblance of running the ball, even if you're not
necessarily designed run Lamar Jackson. You look at somebody like
Drake May, you think about Drake many you're like, oh, like, hey,
this random white dude, he ain't running too much. But
if you look back at college, if you look at
(14:57):
even just in his rookie year, dude was running the
ball a lot.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
So you have so many.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Guys that are willing to move. Dak isn't one of
those guys. I think in like a super plex super
flex format. He's a fine and capable QB two. But
as far as like somebody that I'm drafting in redraft,
it's somebody that I would probably pass on, even though
he has an elite talent in CD LAMB that he's throwing.
I'd much rather have CD than i'd have Dak.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
I think that's the nice thing about Dak though, is
the price right now. So like right now, if you're
looking an underdog, he's going to QB sixteen. That's borderline
stream I mean the streaming quarterback in redrafting terms. You know,
So like that's a guy that you're drafting at the end,
but you can drop him after week three and pick
him back up. On week five and play him in
week seven. I think what we really need to grasp
here is we just have we have our our second
(15:45):
Matt Ryan. He is back. That is what we're getting
with DAK. If you if you go back and you
look at the fantasy finishes of Matt Ryan. Fantasy finished
number three, Fantasy finished number eighteen, Fantasy finished number five,
Fantasy finished number twenty.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, at least right.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
There years he was like MVP level and then odd
years it was let's go back looking at DAK finishing
finished thirty one, three, eighteen, eight, thirty two, two, fourteen ten.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Ryan for the Dallas Cowboys is
playing it right here. And you know what, when you
finish at QB thirty one, you're finishing all the way
at the other end, I think we're looking at the
top five, top three finish for DAK just based on
this pattern alone. Like do we need real science, Absolutely
not not when we have concrete research that we're pulling
up right here. So needless to say, you don't have
(16:35):
to spend a top five pick on the guy. You're
getting them in streaming category. And I'm all in, I'm
willing to take him. He's going right around you know,
guys that don't run like CJ. Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Michael Pennix, Tua.
I'll take Dak over those guys, man.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
You know, I do agree. I do agree with the
value assessment.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I think that Dak has hit that point where people
feel like maybe he's fading, right, And I think he
is fading, but uh, that makes his price really cheap. Like,
you know, you in this normal redraft leagues, you were
getting like Matt Stafford in like the teens, you know,
you were getting people like that way late. So Dak
feels like going into this year, he's almost in that
(17:18):
afterthought level where like the value is there. I'm especially
looking if they get somebody good in free agency, they
bring in a good running back like you know that
that gets me. H. Really, they need to address some
O line because.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
That Zach Martin just retired too.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yeah, that O line is really what needs to be addressed.
Otherwise he's just gonna get beat up again. Zach Martin
the you know, but you know one Brent Bradford popping
in Love the show. Are there any quarterbacks you think
worth drafting in this draft? I need a quarterback. So
(17:58):
trying to think if I draft one or trade one,
and that's where you get to it is like, you know,
if you're sitting there and you're like, Okay, I need
a quarterback this year in the draft, I don't personally,
I don't love any of this year's quarterbacks. So like,
if I'm sitting there and I'm like, man, I don't know,
like I would go for a deep grab on somebody
that could get relevance, especially if they get put in
(18:18):
a competing role, right, Like if Quinn yours is drafted
in the fifth round by the Titans, Like, I'm interested
in a late round grab there, you know.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Yeah, where's the first round pick you have? Is what
I want to know?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Early late I don't know, you know.
Speaker 6 (18:34):
Yeah, back to that question just a little bit.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
It's like if you either like, is are any of
the guys worth taking let's say if it's let's say
it's the first round period, right, or is this a
better year? And again I'm not hype on any of
the quarterback Is it a better year to maybe take
a second round or even a third round pick and
get a Stafford or a Dak or somebody that's kind
(19:01):
of fading. Even like a second round pick might pull
you Trevor Lawrence if it's early enough, who's still kind
of young, or you know, I think you kind of
have to pay up for any of the rookies coming in,
like a Drake may or something like that.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
You know, I think he played, You're gonna flip a
pick for him. The quarterbacks in this class.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
You could probably get McCarthy maybe for a second round pick,
if the person that drafted him is not attached, or
if they I haven't seen. You know, if Darnold has
some kind of longevity there could could put a damper
in it.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
But you know, at this rate, which which way are
you going?
Speaker 1 (19:43):
I mean, are any of these guys exciting enough for
you to spend your first round pick on against the
running back or a wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
No, I, cam Ward, it doesn't really excite me. And
I think the teams that he's going to have just
been perpetual failures.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
So I don't have a lot of confidence.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Like if he goes to the Browns, it's like, well
that's your career, sorry, buddy, Like it just doesn't work
out there. Sanders is going to be a very polarizing player.
I've seen people be like, he's definitely QB one. If
he would have been last year, he would have been
like the third or fourth QB taken. I personally just
like from the way that he's acted, doesn't seem like
(20:21):
a leader to me, and I think that's like he's
gonna have a hard time by getting buy in from
grown men that have been doing this. It's like, cool,
like your dad was the coach you are, Dione Sun, Well,
guess what, like we don't care about that here, So
I he's somebody that I'm kind of out on, and
then after that, there's not really anybody that's even in
the conversation for first round.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Worthy Jackson Dort. I know there's some hype with him
if he finds his way in the first round, depending
on where he goes. I am interested there at least,
you know, super flex as long as we're you know,
mainly with these guys. But yeah, I'm with y'all. I
think I'd rather take one of these second year quarterbacks
if I could flip that form one of these picks once,
because the hype's gonna grow. The hype is absolutely going
to grow two three weeks out from the from the
(21:03):
NFL draft, and you could probably you know, get a
Drake May absolutely JJ McCarthy for one of these picks.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Ward and Sanders are going twenty five QB twenty five,
twenty six in startup ADP in the group of Donald Geno, Stafford, Fields, Russ,
and Derek Carr. So that should tell you where the
uh the industry values them.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
So yeah, I do think though, to Brian's point, there's
something about pro days in combine that gets people.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Super bricked up about like quarterbacks that aren't very good.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Like if you look at like then he looks.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Like Jack Wilson, Like the money throw that he had
in the combine, like that got him picked top three,
like for no reason then he was able to throw
in shorts off.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
His back foot.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
So oh yeah, our players, like I think Jackson Dark
could make himself a lot of money if he has
a good pro day. I think Kim Ward like he
has like arm strength to say, hey, look I can
do these things.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
So I think that they are pretty deflated right now.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
I think on the point of JJ, there was a
snippet of a news thing that I saw today that
said they're considering Sam Darnold as a long term like
extension in Minnesota, but the franchise tag isn't likely obviously February.
None of these news articles mean anything, but I think
(22:28):
with all of the uncertainty in Minnesota, his price kind
of either holds or if Donald gets walks away, then
it's gonna immediately shoot up. So I think, now, if
that's somebody that you're gonna attack, I'm not a JJ
McCarthy guy, but if you are, I think now is
the time to go and get him. This is probably
the lowest that he's gonna be tending how the news
(22:49):
breaks for him in Minnesota, for sure.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Brent said he has the one to five, so that's
what he's dealing with. So you probably had two five,
three five, you know. I mean, I think you'd spend
like the two five and you could get like a
I think t law probably, especially if it's only a
one quarterback league. I think that's probably an easy pool.
If it's super flex, I think it's a little bit harder.
But if you can find a running back needy team,
(23:14):
you could probably get somebody decent with that one five
that could actually be a staple for you for a while.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
If you're one five I don't know if you get
either of the quarterbacks they're going at one O two
and one oh four option, Yeah yeah, just Shedder at
one O two, cam Ward at one O four.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Maybe, so in that case, maybe you I mean, I
think I think the hype, Like I said, I don't
think I think that you can get enough hype on
a receiver or a running back to make a trade
like that for the one five. You know you don't
do it now.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Though, yeah wait.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Yeah wait, it's more valuable as we get closer to
the draft.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
You know, you get that right there, Brian, like right,
and and Aaron, I'm glad you seconded it. You know,
in Dynasty, they're you know, you can't get on your
picks too early because like when when you're working with picks,
like right now, I'm trading for picks because I'm getting
picks at value, you know, like they're not hyped yet.
(24:17):
There's people that are like right now, everybody's sitting in
the seats we are right now where they're like, I'm
just not sure about this class. I don't know if
anybody really sticks out to me, right, Like people.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Are so bored because they're used to doing fantasy all
the time, and it's like, well, now what do I do?
And it's like, oh, let me just blow my old
team and get twenty twenty eight picks.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Like what are you get those picks? Now? Though those
picks start going up Thursday or well Friday when the
running backs and whatnot start When that combine kicks off,
they start going a score of.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Ten and then it's like a pick just like does
and sand.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
But that's that's what happens.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
So if you if you're ready to deal a pick,
like if I'm in your shoes print, I'm waiting because
one the combine is going to light it up, right,
like it's gonna light it up. Then if you really
want to push, you go draft right because after the draft,
then you see landing spots, you see quarterbacks with potential
year one potential, you see running backs, wide receivers drafted
(25:14):
a killer spots, and then at that point you're probably
debating on whether or not you should move this pick
or not. You're probably like, oh, man, I might can
get tet here, you know.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
Like or whatever.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
So you're you're debating on making the pick, but just
like you're debating on trading that pick, that means somebody
else wants.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
It so much more.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
And I think that if you're I'm still not in
on any of the quarterbacks this year, but I think
at that point, you're one five could turn you. Your
one five might turn you, you know, Mahomes or Hurts.
I mean it might pull you. It could pull you
one of those guys. Just because people people get soft
(25:50):
on vets right like they're excited about rookies, they get
soft on vets and they're like, oh, this veteran is
like Josh Allen is gonna be you know, thirty to
twenty nine this year. He's getting old. It's time to
move him, you know. And I'm like, great, let me
give you my one five and I two five and
you give me Josh Allen and we'll celebrate all night long.
You know, like it's also, does happened to you?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Send me a league invite real quick?
Speaker 3 (26:15):
You trade that pick the week after the NFL Draft.
That's the week where you have your your rookie draft
set up for like what August, and right after the
NFL Draft hits, everyone's like, screw it, we got to
do it this week. Let's move it up. Because they
all have rookie fever. That's when you do it. When
they start moving the rookie drafts up, well not August
from June or whatever it is.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Hell mine usually starting the Sunday after the NFL draft,
my rookie. I can't get any of those guys to
pull back.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
I always do my rookie drafts a week after the
actual NFL draft, uh to just try to make sure that,
you know, we I like to do this style where
we follow the league, you know, the league schedule, so
it feels a little realistic, like I'm, you know, managing
my own NFL franchise, because in my mind I'm capable
(27:04):
of that. I would love to do it, but you know,
living out of the dream. You know, I was the
guy that played Madden and I never played the games.
Speaker 6 (27:12):
I just built teams.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
You know.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
We'll have the rookie draft set up for the following weekend,
and by nine am Monday morning, the day after the draft,
they'll be phoning at the mouth to start it at
noon already.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
No clock. We'll just go ahead and turn it on
so if somebody wants to draft, they can out dude, and.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Then you have twelve picks in thirty seconds with no
clock on.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
The draft ends and every reason will now what it's like.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Well want to start up?
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Yeah, that's all. It's so profitable, right, No kidding?
Speaker 1 (27:47):
So are there you know, Brian, and I'm going back
to you at the at the draft. Uh And I
have two in mind, so you know, I'll follow up
with those two players specifically. But who are there anybody
that are like so close to each other in your
(28:11):
evaluation that like maybe you're going in looking for some
kind of separation.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Uh. Yeah, I will say. At the wide receiver, I
feel like it's kind of a consensus four ish three
ish at the top, and Ted McMillan from Arizona has
been like the top wide receiver, just about consensus everywhere.
Luther Burden, Like I'm liking him more and more. He's
sneaking right there. I'm really interested to kind of see
these metrics that we get here at the combine, just
(28:38):
to get more because me as a taller fella, I
do feel like I have a little bias towards taller
wide receivers. This guy Ted mc millan six ' five, Like, dude,
we can high five together. You know that's my kind
of you know, I feel comfortable around that, and then
you know, sometimes I feel like I'm a little biased
towards He's like five eleven six foot receiver, So I
don't want to go in their bias. I don't want
(28:59):
to pick him just because he's massive. But we've seen
the highlight catches, we've seen the little the little quint
like the kids playing twister as a kid.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Crazy.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
Yeah, so I'm really excited to see you kind of
how these two go head to head.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Yeah, what about you, Joe, any any anybody you're really
pumped about.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
I think for me, we've seen in the last couple
of years where you've had immediate impacts, which isn't typically
the case in fantasy football for rookie tight ends. So
Kyle Pitts came out had thousand yard season, a big deal.
He is going to be the greatest thing since slice spread.
He's kind of fallen off a little bit. But fun
fact about Kyle Pitts. Every year he's increased his touchdowns
(29:38):
by one. So by year ten he's gonna be putting
up ten touchdowns and then he's going to be a
fantasy steal. So just keep that in your head. He's
like one of the only players that ever He's had one,
then two, then three, then four, so it's locked for
five touchdowns basically.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
But you keep going. We had Sam.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Laporto had the big year. Then you look at last year,
Brock Bauers did amazing things. Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland. They're
the two top guys for this year.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Tyler Warren had one.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Of the best college football tight end seasons that we've
ever seen. Loveland didn't do as much on the field
as far as numbers, but he has a lot of
hype as far as like his build, profile, all that
sort of stuff. So I'm really curious to see how
those guys test. Tyler Warren's projected to be the higher
profile guy, but he's not expected to score as well.
(30:25):
He's a quarterback for a good while transitioned over to
tight end. So I'm really curious to see how those
guys do and how they compare because they have a
lot of money riding on this. I mean, you have
people saying as early as like the Jets that you
could see some of these guys going in the draft,
so's it's gonna be big for him.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
You know, Warren type has gone crazy, you know, he
like it.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
People are obviously in on him.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
I've seen him mocked in the first like I've seen
him hit brock Bauer's territory and is absolutely in saying
to me, especially somebody that took so long to really
like develop into like that household name, what's up, Mike,
Mike tuning in? Appreciate you tuning in, And uh, you
(31:12):
know it tight ends sometimes takes so long, you know,
like like Cardinal here says Pitts is not great Evan
Ingram two point zero.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
So like that's kind of disrespectful.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Well to go to a new team. Pit's will be
great when he goes to the Colts next season when
he gets traded.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Right, you know, Pitts is like a slow start every
Like Evan Ingram came in and was like a huge talent, right,
like like this big fast receiver or tight end that
was gonna be you know, just this new new new
aspect of the position, right, and he couldn't stay healthy.
They didn't use him. Well, he had like one season
(31:51):
that was something decent and then it was like mundane.
So then he goes to Jacksonville and all you know,
all of a sudden, Trevor Lawrence revives him, you know,
or whatever, even though he's still and banged up. But
you know, like is that pits Like are we gonna
have to wait six years before he starts really.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Going off, you know? Or does he ever even reach that?
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Like I do think he needs to put on some weight,
but you know, I don't know Tyler.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Let me ask you this, where do you think Tyler
Warren is going in Best ball drafts? Right now? What
tight end do you think he's going.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
In Best ball drafts? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Probably like he can't go top in it had to
be like he's.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Definitely top ten, five, eight, eight.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
He is eight right now in Bestball.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
He's tight in four on keep Trade.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Cut leveland is sixteen in ball.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
That's crazy. Don't buy the hyphe folks, do never buy it.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
I saw it was Senate last year. We saw Senate.
I was banging the drum for ERTs Man.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeaheah, freaking yeah yeah, Senate, Like, don't buy hype on
a top like a rookie being top four. Like yes,
we saw it in freaking Laporter, but Laporter wasn't projected
for that. Laporter was like a third round rookie draft pick.
You know you you lucked into that right, and now
we're generational.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Way, I don't see these guys as generational like brock
Bowers did it from the time he got to Georgia
all the way through.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
So I was like, okay, I think you've seen it.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Bowers is an anomaly, even like Trey McBride. It took
Trey McBride, you know, a couple of years before he
really started.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
White white because he spent a year stuck behind earths.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
I don't know, they making arts for one more year.
We'll see.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Uh, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
You know.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
The rookie hype sometimes is just so crap. I can't believe,
like tight End that that early for you don't even
know his drafting spot yet, Like oh my goodness, I mean,
but like he's not like when I watch when I
watch him play, it gives me, like, you know, like Mayor,
(34:02):
like Michael Mayer, feels right like like tight End a
couple of years old. I don't know to Dame, who's
now cemented himself behind brock Bauers, you know, as really
the blood.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Would try to like trade for like a fourth round pick.
I still think he.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
I agree, I agree with you, But I think he's
one of those where it's like his next team he
lands on right like Dalton Schultz, Don Scheltz took so
long to become relevant, you know, like.
Speaker 6 (34:26):
It it just happens that way with tight end.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
So like I can't unless he goes to a team
that has no start, like no starting tight end, no
hope at that position, then maybe. But fun, the hype
was fun.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Do you remember the combine sled Drill and Darnell Washington?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
That was fun, dude.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
I will say this though, I mean.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
For an alignment.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Now Marty Smith loves him a good tight end too. Maybe, so.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
That's incredible, incredible, you know, So, Aaron, are there are
there two players that you find really close that you're
like looking for separation at the combine? Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
My first answer was burdened in tent and I said,
oh shit, I'll just pivot to the tight ends. And
then actually the only difference I had was for the
tight ends, I added Harold Fan and Jr.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Let's go bowling, Green Babys.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Other than that, no, that was those were my two answers.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Fus. You know.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
We don't do a pre show.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Oh my gosh. So for me, it's at the running
back position. You know, I have struggled this season with this,
like you know, Trevon Henderson and quin Shawn Jenkins breakdown,
you know, like who's gonna do?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
What?
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Who are you looking at? And like even when you
look at the stats, like they're not very different, you know,
and so like I'm I think that they both could
have extreme value, but like I mean, look at listen,
listen this so uh yards right, Trevon Henderson this season
(36:19):
on thy sixteen, Judkins this season one thousand and sixty
tight ends or sorry, touchdowns Henderson ten, Judkins fourteen. Now
yards per carry average Henderson's seven point one and Judkins
five point five because he had more carries. But they're
(36:39):
so tight in in like actually skill and evaluation in
the even in the same offense. You know what.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
That's what's gonna dose two. It's gonna be for me,
landing spot and draft capitals.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
What tells them apart.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Because honestly moved the top like nine guys. For me,
I think it's gonna be where it is, like where
do these guys land? We're gonna have probably some of
these fourth round running backs that might be more intriguing
than the second round, just based on how deep this
running back class is and where they land.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
How many of them do you think we see in
the first round of the draft.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
None, well, Gentry, oh.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
I.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Don't gen t will definitely go first round.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
I still say none. I'm sticking with none.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
I'm gonna go one.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
If it was two and a half, I take the under.
But one and a half it's hard just to say
the one.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Like who knows that this like this?
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I mean really, there's there's a lot of teams that
are like needing that next that next guy.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
I mean, Dallas needs a running back.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
An every year and they never do it. We say
this is a perfect spot. And the second round last
year and they passed and Caroline and it took Jonathan Brooks.
They never do it.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
I mean, yeah, it worked for them, take Johonathan brook
But no, I'm with you, Like, I mean, it happens
and then like, uh, you know, it'll be It'll definitely
be interesting to see how how it goes, how it
works out. Corey in the chat, he said, I swear
(38:24):
if Dallas takes a running back and round.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Luca, so like anything is possible.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Now they need they need a freaking offensive tackle. They
need to find a.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
Real Jerry's Like, wait, there's another GM being talked about
more in Dallas than me. Watch this.
Speaker 6 (38:40):
Yeah, you know they're gonna trade.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
They're gonna trade that pick away to get Derrick Henry
And I'm just kidding. They won't do that. That would
be awful, just like if you were trying to buy, Say,
what what's the I'm looking at the draft order right now.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
What's the earliest team you could see taking genty? I
know Dallas wants one, or wants a running or needs
a running back, but twelve, that's insane.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
I've seen a mock at him at seven to the Jets.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
That doesn't make sense. Also, would you do that?
Speaker 5 (39:17):
Freese is on a contract year. He's never hit a
thousand rushing yards. Like, I didn't like it either. But
like top top names that are throwing out like put out,
mock drafts have them there. So like I've like you said,
I've seen the tight end go to the Jets as well.
I have no idea what they're going to be doing.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Patriots at four Raiders Raiders?
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Yeah, so I pitied.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Yeah, I just pulled up a CBS mock draft and
they had Gent at the twentieth overall pick to Denver.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Yeah, that would be crazy.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
Denver. Pittsburgh Chargers are like three straight work, won't Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Right?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
They spent the whole UH Senior Bowl looking at defensive time.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
They're probably gonna take so many ago.
Speaker 5 (40:02):
There's so many details.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
I think they'll double. I think they're gonna go.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
The one on the depth chart is Cordero Patterson, Is
it not?
Speaker 5 (40:10):
Yeah, that's all they happened.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
That twenty one makes sense.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
If they take another first round running back when their
team isn't ready to compete, I don't know what I will.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Do, considering they never pay them ever with the receivers.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
So NFL dot com uh Rider had published mock draft
and has Gent going at number twelve to Dallas Cowboys.
Uh So, there you go our Corey dream come true.
I was trying to see if there was another running
(40:45):
back anybody had inside the twelve so he can back
up Zeke.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
I'd love to see the Cowboys take a wide receiver
in the first round because they can get a running
back in round two or three, but the wide receivers
drive up real quick.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
So this okay, this this draft has a second running
back in the first round pick in o Marion Hampton.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
He can hear me out. I know we like some
of the tight ends. Could you imagine if Dallas takes
Tyler Warren at twelve? With how much Dak loves tight ends.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
So that's nuclear they have Warren.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Oh, he won't go that high, that's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
He might they have. So this this one actually has
has Colston Loveland above Warren going to Denver at thirteen
based on a trade up.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
I've seen a lot of talk about the Colts actually
going tight end Colts.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
It has Warren going tight going fourteen to the Colts.
Speaker 5 (41:47):
We were supposed to get brock Bauers, and the readers said,
I'll watch this.
Speaker 6 (41:53):
Man, what a that's gonna be awesome.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
I can't wait for the draft, can't wait for the combine.
I'm pumped for rookies. I love Dynasty Football. If you
don't play Dynasty Fantasy Football, you need to. You need
to get into Dynasty Fantasy football. It's a whole other
level to it. I know we have a ton of
redraft players that watch the show. Absolutely awesome to play
(42:18):
Dynasty and have to look at rookies and draft your players,
just a whole nother.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Dynamic to the game. We got draft, big, draft energy.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Mac Holland's legacy game is the right and only answer
that it's.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
All that's right.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Why would you encourage fantasy football players to get into dynasty?
Speaker 6 (42:37):
Oh, because it's so wonderful.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
It's like saying someone who likes coke, here's crack.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
I do think the thing, though, is that it's something
to keep in mind when if you're doing the whole
dynasty thing is that dynasty is very much more an
offseason game. Once you get into the thick of it,
mostly likely you're not making a lot of weekend, week
out roster decisions. There's not gonna be a lot of
waiver things that happened throughout the course of the year.
So dynasty is really like the off season fun. If
(43:09):
you haven't done it before, don't do like five startup
drafts like right away, just.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
Like please God, you's like one or two.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
Put the toe in the water.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
So you have a little patience with it at all.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
Have you played dynasty? You want to win a dynasty league.
Forget that it's dynasty in draft like it's a redraft.
That way, when it tanks after year one, you win
it anyways, because they all thank anyway.
Speaker 5 (43:31):
It's a numbers game. It's a number. It's like, well,
when I was in college, you know, I wasn't gonna
get one to say yes, I wasn't gonna win the
first time. I got to play like twenty different games
to figure out I'm going to win, you know, Dynasty.
I finally joined twenty leagues this year. I finally got
a chip, got my first Dynasty chip.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
Let's go all right, you got big Judge Entergy. Best
ball is the rule, and best ball is making waves.
Speaker 6 (43:51):
It is.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
It is a new way to play, but it is
for the people. I will say, it's best balls for
the people that love to draft. Like, I'm just gonna
draft five hundred teams. I don't want to do any
of the upkeep. I don't want to have to worry
about trades or anything to draft five hundred different leagues
and hopefully some of them win. You know.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
Yeah, and if you don't draft Jamar Chase at one
Disco will find you and.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Probably beat you up.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
So you can know when people played mest ball, right,
it's at the end of the it's at the end
of the year. They can have a share of every
player in the league to say, look, I told you
I was in on him on this team. That's why
they did it.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Cory said, Dallas always reaches they want their third rounder
in the first.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
Oh that's hilarious. Yeah, no, I mean who knows, Dallas.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
I'm guaranteeing at some point in the draft they will
mess it up and we'll leave all their fans going, ah,
why is Jerry Jones the GM.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
You know, if I was Dallas or like somebody that
didn't draft well, I would just go and like have
someone spying on the Eagles and then spying on the
Ravens because I always feel like they have magnificent drafts
a year after years, all Hamish is just gonna fall
to us, like how he always has something up his sleeve,
like you look at like how we did it? Or
even like the Rams, like they completely revitalized their defense
(45:08):
in one draft last year, Like yeah what was that?
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Yeah that's awesome, So big big draft Dinnery said, draft
it and forget it unless you're winning a life changing
amount of money.
Speaker 6 (45:18):
Uh ar en.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
No, if you do play, you know, if you do
play big draft energy, drop your promo in the chat.
If you do want to play best Ball, you go
over to Drafters and you can try to play and
play it underdog. But Drafters the new platform is pretty good.
Kind of yep, and uh, you know, our guy there
(45:46):
is always doing drafts, so welcome to go over there
and support them. Corey said, best Ball is the TikTok
of fantasy football. People love it and then they throw
it and even though it is trash.
Speaker 6 (46:03):
It is it is pew pew.
Speaker 5 (46:06):
It's the best. The amount of times I'd wake up
early on a Sunday morning, We'll grab a nice little
cup of coffee something like that, sitting on the porch
and just drafting.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Yeah, it's like, you know, let me let me just
scroll going TikTok.
Speaker 6 (46:19):
Let me just draft real quick, go to you know, No, I'm.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Good dinner with my wife's friends. Oh what are you
guys talking about? I'm gonna draft real quick, you know,
like it's it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
