Speaker 1 (00:25):
Hey, what is going on everybody? This is from the
Forum sponsored by the Fantasy Football Advice Network. He used
to a pretty amazing face with bad taste in Jersey's
sitting in the pole position. He's off today, probably had
a hot date with his wife. But you know what
it is. I'm Joe Frick with the Fantasy Football Advice Network.
I've got quite the crew with me today. I'm gonna
(00:47):
let them introduce themselves. We got one that's still stuck
in traffic, so hope youre joining us momentarily, So we'll
go around the horn.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Jack.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
We'll start with you. Where can the people find you?
How you doing today? And what's been going on? Fellas?
Has been a crazy offseason.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, well, I mean we were talking a bit pre show.
I've gone through kind of my own Catharsist this year
where we're shifting the channel. We'll be coming backstrong in
June with kind of a rebranding, going full best Ball
only best Ball all the time. But till then, you
can find all my old stuff at the Worst Fantasy Show.
(01:22):
It's just called the Worst because it's got wrestling and
fantasy stuff, so it's kind of a bit confusing. But hey,
you can watch old interviews and cool stuff. We've had
Joe on the show before for a worst interview, so
go check that out.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
That was the time, man, that was a time. There's
nothing that can prepare you for something like that. So
if you like a different slice of content than what
you're typically sipping on, then you're pretty much good to
go there. So Tyler, we'll see what you gotta say.
Let's get you introduced.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
What's up, Dave Jave jumpson, old friend and good to
see you, dude wearing the Tigers hat. It's a beautiful thing.
What's up, folks.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
F F.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Tyler Roe here formerly of JWB, recently got plucked shifted
over to FTN.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
That's where I'm gonna find all of my work. No,
I'd like, I'm going to get a white club dude.
I love it. Yeah, So everything's at FTN on Twitter.
F F.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Tylert to be here ready to talk some ball. I mean,
it's it's the quote unquote slow season now.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
In the NFL.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
But at the same time, I'm digging it.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
I'm digging it right now.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
It's past ball season, it's prospect season.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
The train never stops. Yeah, And what's great about that.
So you said you had this recent switch over. I
wish that the rest of NFL free agency was efficient,
as like your transition from like one spot to the next.
As a Steelers fan, this whole Aaron Rodgers saga has
really been driving me nuts. I was very thankful today
(02:54):
that the Steelers brass did not show up at the
Jackson Dark Ole Miss Pro Day, because that is basically
the if you're if you've got Omar Kahan, you've got
Mike Tomlin there, then it's a pretty good chance that
they're gonna take that guy in the first round. We
passed that test us sleep easy tonight where I guess
that's where we'll start as Dave goes and gets his
(03:14):
white claw. So, if you are looking at what's happening
with the rookies right now, where do you see, especially
as we're moving into pro days, where have you seen
players really elevate their status or where have you seen
players that have kind of just taken a hit and
we could see them fall out of the drafts And
(03:36):
before we get there, Dave and I do want you
to I can't hear us yet. No, possibly better, here's good, good?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
All right?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Well, we'll keep browing, so Jack Tyler Dave will be
here in a second. We'll get him introduced. But where
do y'all see the biggest risers followers from the rookies,
and then we can kind of go from there.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
I mean I can start because I did my first
view of the rookies all year this year, and the
guy that really bounced off the page to me was
a running back. This is like the very heavy running
back class. I've heard lots of different names, and the
guy that actually jumped off I hadn't heard his name
at all mentioned by anybody's Bajol Tutin out of Virginia Tech.
(04:28):
You know, this guy impressed me on so many levels,
Like he's not just a burner. I mean he's a
little bit undersized at five nine two six, but man,
his broad jump at ten ten and his vert at
forty inches just proved that he was an all around athlete.
He also just looked incredible, like in the daily drill
(04:50):
and in the receiving drills, like he looked the smoothest.
He had the fastest feet. In my opinion, That's something
I always look for in running backs, especially as the footwork,
like he just absolutely crushed every single possible aspect of
this pro day. I think he might. I think he
might go day two now because of just how well
(05:12):
he did. And considering that you have all these like
huge names like the Judkins and the Omari and Himton
and like all you know trade out him like these
guys all impressed as well. But I had not heard
of the Touting kid even at all. And honestly, his
workout was arguably better than even all of the big names,
(05:34):
including Genti obviously didn't work out all right.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
So this is a good segue for Dave. Dave, I
know you're a big boys guy, So let the people
who you let them know who you are, how to
find you, and what is your take on this rookie
class right now? What are you feeling about it? What
are you thinking? Who's rising, who's falling? As we're seeing
some of this pro day involve.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I just have to make sure you guys can hear
me right now? Can you hear me? Bob clear?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
You look great. I hope the White Club the list.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Sorry, I was having some audio issues. I apologize, but
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
You guys all saw me flip you the bird. I'm
really sorry. About that. That was rude.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
But anyway, yeah, of course I am here in Boise.
I live in Boise, and Ashton Genty is arguably one
of the best athletes we've ever had at this university.
He heads the class. But you know, it's not incorrect
to say that this class is deep. It's totally deep
(06:30):
a running back, you know, but Ascien Genty proved it
I think the other day and is pro day. You know,
he showed what he had to do, and he showed
that maybe taking the day off at the combine wasn't
such a bad idea, which everybody was drenching him for
here in town.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
You know, they were saying, oh you guys, which.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
In fact, I think we're going to see I'm sorry, Audio,
what's the rest of your question?
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I guess, Yeah, So let's jump in there, see where
do where do you see that you've seen Ashton GenZ
potentially top ten pick potential for sure? Does that something
that you align with? Do you think that that's bound
to happen? How high can we see him go? Realistically?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, I mean I think when I I think top
ten is it's possible?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
I mean for running back that you know, it's not crazy.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
We've seen it happen recently, but considering what he was
able to do at Boise State, the production that he had,
I mean, it's tough to poke holes.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
I really I can't.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
I can't voke hoals like part of me, you know,
and all the respect to Dave of like, you know,
there's a level of competition. That's something I always care about.
Boison State plays good games, but it's not you know,
it's not that zec.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
It's not the Big ten.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
But that's not enough for me to come off of
Genet from everything that I've seen, like he continues to
prove that he is one of the best running back
in the class. He's probably one of the best running
backs that we've seen probably the last like four or
five years.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
So I think it definitely deserves go there in the
top ten.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
I think it's I wouldn't say it's more than likely,
but if I had to be a betting man, I
would say it's possible. One thing that scares me as
a Lions fan is if the Bears decided to take
that swing at the ten. Right there, they're already putting
together some really good stuff. They already took our offensive coordinator,
the offensive lines coming together for them to grab guns
at ten. It'd be great for fantasy but bad for
(08:22):
my football fandom.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, there's definitely a lot brewing in the NFC North.
We've seen the bold of confidence of what seems for
JJ McCarthy. I think one of the cool things that
came out this week they said in an interview with him, like, hey, like,
we're not really sure, Like if we've seen the offseason moves,
they haven't really picked up on Darnold Aaron Rodgers. It
seems like they're not all that interested. They pretty much
(08:45):
named you the starter, right, And then he turns it
out and said, no, they haven't named me the starter,
Like I'm glad that they haven't. They I like to
put in the work. I want to prove myself every day.
So for someone that's coming in, I'm really excited to
see what he can do. Everybody in that rookie class
from the quarterback position last year seems to have turned
to gold. So he does have that potential to be
(09:05):
a value pick going into redraft in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
So one of the names I.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Mentioned there we started talking about a little bit at
the jump of the show. So we have Aaron Rodgers
deep in a dark mister treat right now. What's the
vibe that y'all are getting? Do you think that he
is going to go to Pittsburgh? It seems like a
lot of these doors that were opening or starting to close.
Do y'all see him going somewhere else? What's the vibe
that y'all are getting from it right now?
Speaker 4 (09:33):
You know, it's funny to me because I think I
saw that he was considering sitting a year out. You
don't do that in your mid forties, right, That's called retirement.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
I think some teams. I think some teams are a
bit weird. Like I saw how he played the last
couple of years. He's clearly not the guy used to be.
You know, is he a top thirty two quarterback in
the NFL? You know, I'm not really ready to write
that off as like, you know, that's not true. But
at the same time, like there's there's media that comes
along with it, there's baggage that comes along with it,
and it's like, do you really want that out of
a you know, the twenty eight to twenty six best
(10:05):
quarterback in the NFL? You know, I'm not really too sure.
It just seems like there's some drama that that follows
Aaron Rodgers, and I don't know if teams are willing
to pull that trigger to take on that drama when
he's really not who he was, like, I mean, he's
probably what like forty percent at best, fifty percent of
best at what he was five six years ago. So
for me, you know, it's clear like he's not gonna
take a backup role, right, I feel pretty confident that
(10:27):
he's not going to go somewhere to be a backup.
I don't think his ego would allow that, So I
would think that he sits a year out. But in reality, man,
I just don't see a world where he comes back
and is a difference maker for almost I mean almost
any team in the NFL. Right, there is some teams
where he could find some success, sure, but at the
same time, those teams are probably already set at quarterback
(10:49):
and anywhere he goes it's probably not going to be
like one of the best teams. Pittsburgh is obviously probably
one of the best landing spots, obviously the spots where
they're the tables decently set around him, but still man,
I just I see him sitting out. I don't really
see him being able to play.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Dave thoughts, what are you thinking about that? You uh
excited about him finishing his potential Brett farb arc making
it to Minnesota? Where do you think he ends up
planning at this year?
Speaker 5 (11:17):
That's what my neighbor's been saying for a while is
he's got to continue the Brett Farvark.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Go to him minute on my notes, But he just
he pretty much said a lot of the stuff that
I was thinking.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
You know, I mean, Pittsburgh is the best available spot
for Aaron Rodgers, but Aaron Rodgers is not Aaron Rodgers anymore.
It's not what you think about when you think about
Aaron Rodgers, you know.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
And could he be.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
An upgrade to what Pittsburgh would have based on the
fact that they don't They literally don't have an act
trule starting caliber quarterback in their in their quarterback room
right now. Sure, but that's not saying I mean, I'm
not I'm a Steeler fan.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
You know that, Joe are y'all Steelers fans. Are we
sitting with three Steelers fans right now?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah? We think you think going on I've got hold.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
But yeah, you know, I've been a Steelers fan since
I was a little kid. Terry Bradshaw was my first
favorite player. You're Terry Bradshaw, and that's how I became
a Steelers fan. I'm I don't know, I don't want.
I don't really feel excited about Aaron Rodgers. I don't
(12:43):
know how I can get myself excited at Aaron About
Aaron Rodgers, what I'm trying to say.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, it is a tall order for him to come in.
I think the biggest challenge that you have here is
that one, He's gonna want to run his offense, So
that's gonna be an immediate thing that you have Ardi
Smith there. How are those two gonna mesh? Second piece?
Is that sort of like Lebron James. Lebron James signed somewhere,
(13:11):
James Jones gets a contract, these other couple guys end
up getting deals. Aaron Rodgers the same way Randall Cobb's
gonna end up on your team. Alan Lazard's probably gonna
get traded to you. Like you know, It's just one
of those things. It's like, do you have all of
those accessory pieces for a guy that probably isn't a
long term solution. If you look at when the Jets
signed him, they expected him to kind of be like
(13:31):
this rejuvenation of the team, win now mode. He gets
hurt in the first quarter of his first game, they
kind of stick around with it for the second year
to see what they have. But yeah, like you're saying,
he's a bridge quarterback at this point, probably better than
most bridges that you would see, but the spots are
kind of drying out. I think he wants to play,
but it's like, is it worth it? I don't know.
(13:54):
I don't see him getting more than twenty five million
on the market, which is probably way less than he's
wanting to take on.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
He would never take. I don't think he would ever
take it.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
He would do it, Yeah, how much that the ego
will he allow him to take? So Jack bring it home?
Where do you think he lands?
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I mean, I think much to all of our chagrins,
we are going to have to deal with Aaron Rodgers
being the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
And that's very brunshaw though I'm not giving him number twelve, right,
that's fair, right, I don't.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Know about that. I just really think that the Steelers
they're gonna do the same thing to me that they
did in twenty eighteen when I wanted them to take
the quarterback that I thought was actually the best in
the class, and it was Lamar Jackson. And we have
(14:47):
it's not Lamar Jackson, but I actually kind of see
him as almost like a Jalen Hurts type. But I
I think, and even my dad thinks, which is crazy
because he's an old school Steelers fan, we both think
it's Jalen Milroe should be the pick twenty one.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Yeah, in the first round.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Take the kid who can't do it the most physical specimen.
It's it's what we've seen, actually can.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Throw it a mile, but he can't hit a fucking barn. Dude.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Josh Allen neither could. Jalen Hurris neither could. Again keep
naming physical. This is like the new model of developing
NFL quarterbacks is you take the most physical player. I'm
looking at the fact that he ran the four three seven.
I'm looking at again, you said he can throw it
a mile. All of the footwork and the accuracy can
(15:43):
be developed at the next level. Now they might still
take I just don't think they're gonna take Milroe and
Rogers is the thing. I don't think they're They're gonna
take a random your linebacker, because that's just what these
Steelers all always do. They disappoint they never do the
thing that I want them to do. And it's gonna
(16:05):
be Aaron Rodgers. And again, I just I don't see
like you can't go in with Mason Rudolph. And you know,
Aaron Rodgers might not be a top five quarterback, but
he's still a top fifteen twenty quarterback. Like he's better
than the bottom ten guys even last year. It's even
(16:27):
with the numbers kind of inflated, like thirty eight hundred
and twenty eight and eleven, you can't ignore that.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah, I mean, if you look at what the Steelers
have had eleven, what you are I.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Mean eleven interceptions on a season compared to like Jameis
Winston for example, or any other number of quarterbacks that
throw fifteen plus interceptions a season. Like, Actually, eleven's manageable.
And I think you put you take him off the Jets,
who are obviously a dysfunctional organization. And this is the
thing of why I think it fits too, is because
(17:03):
if there is a coach. There's only a handful of
coaches in the NFL that could handle Aaron Rodgers' ego,
and Tomlin, I think is one of those few coaches
where it would fit because he can keep it in check.
I actually just think like if he comes in and
plays as a kind of game manager for an Arthur
Smith's system, which relies mostly on two tight end anyways,
(17:25):
Like they run the highest percentage of two tight end
in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
It's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Run game stuff, like Rogers meshes well with the system
that they want to run with the coaching like, it's
actually weird that he fits kind of well with Pittsburgh,
except that he's kind of an a hole.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Aside, So throw Rogan aside. I want to come back
to what was being discussed because I think this is
a very interesting point, and I think that there's a
little bit more of a fantasy segue into this. So
one of the things that you mentioned, Jack is that
you think somebody like a mill Row could be in
play for the Steelers at twenty one. So if we're
looking at the board of superflex drafts right now, so
(18:11):
you have Genti Tet, a lot of questions about what's
going to happen with Travis Hunter in what position he's playing.
And I feel like this is one of those years
where a quarterback isn't necessarily being considered like the top
two or three picks. Cam Ward's being floated a bit there.
If you see someone like a Jackson Dart, if you
(18:32):
see someone like a Millroe get first round capital on
the back half of the round, how does that shift
the way that y'all are approaching going after them if
you are willing to go after them in a Dynasty format.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Excuse me, I.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Mean, I'll just tack on to the Millroe point. I
think that's this is a very much depends answer, because
in Dynasty you're either rebuilding for the long term or
you're competing for the most part. And if I'm rebuilding
for the long term, whatever capital that I have to invest,
like i've and again this was my first day of
(19:09):
going through all the rookie stuff, I've identified Jalen Milroe
as my guy. I think out of the quarterbacks, regardless
of where they get drafted, even if he slips to
a Day two pick, I think in five ten years
we're gonna look back and say oh, he was actually
the best quarterback in that draft. It might take him
(19:30):
a year or two to develop into that. I think,
especially the running quarterback hack for fantasy, Like I'm taking
mill Row above all these guys, I might not have
to take it.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Now.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
That doesn't mean I'm gonna take him at the one
oh one in a super flex. If cam Ward is
the one that's drafted to the Titans, you just can't.
But I wouldn't take I don't think I would necessarily
be sold on cam Ward either. I might take Gente
at that spot. I might not be sold on taking
quarterback at all. But I'm when I'm looking at kind
(20:02):
of where these guys get drafted and where I might
have to take, like Milroe is going to be my target,
which would mean to me, like, okay, then I don't
have to take Ward at one oh one in a superflex. Sure,
because I believe so wholeheartedly in this other guy. And
even Jackson Dart, who you know we were talking about
the Pro day before. He really did impress a lot.
(20:23):
Of the Pro day they commented weirdly a lot about
how he was chewing gum quite literally and just seemed
really chill while he was going through his throws, and
I think it does kind of display some of the
mental acumen and how he is more of like a
traditional pocket quarterback. And I think a lot of NFL
offenses still value that incorrectly because again, like I was disgusting,
(20:47):
I think Milroe is the hack. It's the Josh Allen hack.
You take a guy who is just the most physical
and you develop him into an NFL quarterback.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
No, for sure, I think probably decently how to take care,
We can go down this rabbit hole if y'all want to.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
But Jackson Darts might q be one in this class
right now.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
If he gets first round capital, you know, I'll take
him pretty early. You know, I'm I love Tet like
he's I think he's clear far and away probably my
easily my favorite wide receiver, and a tier of his own,
just like Genet is.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Like gen t is a different tier of a player
than Tet.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Don't get me wrong.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Those those are two guys that I'm very much like.
These are tiered out like because of I would consider
this a decently weak quarterback class. It's probably better for
fantasy than is in real life. You know, It's definitely
one of those years where I could see myself not
going quarterback at the one o one and super flex,
which is kind of crazy to say out loud, but
at the same time, it really depends on the structure
(21:44):
of your team. But for me, Jackson Dart getting first
round capital, I'm kind of banking on it, to be
completely honest with you. And I think one of the
things that really stands out, and I think jack did
a good job kind of teeing it up a little
bit is the rushing. I mean, you look at Jackson Dart.
I think he in his life three years as started
an average five hundred yards rushing every season, right, so
(22:05):
he can scoot like He's not like a rusher like
mill Row. Totally understand that, right, but he's way more
of a rusher than Sanders is way more of a
rusher than Ward is.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
He's kind of gonna.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
I think he has ability to get you that kind
of floor of like, yeah, he rushes, you know, thirty
forty yards a game could easily see that happen. The
guy can move, so I think there's like there's value
theres him adding value as a rusher in fantasy. You
either have to be in my opinion, an elite passer
that doesn't rush, or you have to have at least
a decent rush in Florida, like have pretty good value.
(22:34):
And I think Jackson dark can get that. And if
he gets that opportunity at the first round draft capital,
he is a guy that could easily see myself drafting early.
And then to talk about the mill Row thing, you know,
it's a really good point because I think he's a
horrendous thrower. I think he's a terrible passer. I actually
I think somebody, I don't know who said it, but
they called him a regular size Anthony Richardson, and like
(22:54):
that really resonates for me because I've been off Anthony
Richardson forever and so far, I think I've been pretty right. Right,
it's not good, And I think that that's kind of
what you could expect from a passing lens. He would
kill the wide receivers, might be able to prop up
one guy. But if he gets the opportunity and he starts,
I do think the Russian could be there. So it's
a really interesting opportunity. Does Milroe sneak into the first
(23:14):
you know, I think Jackson Dart has a better chance
of landing the first round than you know Milroe does.
But if they're both in the first round, I don't
think we can ignore it. Jackson Darts my favorite quarterback
in this class. He could's got a rushing floor. Miroe
can rush for eight hundred nine hundred yards in the NFL,
just based and doesn't even matter what he does.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Is the passer right if he's be able to do that.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
So if those two guys are able to get first
on draft capital and there's like a clear path for
them to be like, okay, like this guy can start
and it's not like a weird like some team just
like draft like to have like the Rams drafts like
Jackson Dart or something like that, I'd be like, man,
you know, I think I might pump the brakes a
bit because it might be a little bit till he plays.
But if they get first on draft capital, I'm in.
(23:55):
I'm in on him, even though my gut tells me no.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
On Milroe.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
I think we all know what it means when a
guy can rush eight hundred nine hundred yards in a
season in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Oh, most definitely. And we got mister magic in the
chats and greetings, so happy Friday to you, I hope you
are having a good one so far. Thanks for talking
ball with us. It is interesting what you say when
you're talking about Jackson Dark So if you look at
the last three years that he was an Ole, miss
one hundred and twenty eight attempts in twenty twenty two,
one hundred and nineteen and twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four,
he put up one hundred and twenty four attempts. Even
(24:26):
if he's not running at a large clip, he does
keep it honest. He does have that mobility. So I
do have interest at that point. I am not a
big Jackson Dart fan. I don't think I caught that.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
I caught that from beginning to deal. I don't think
a fan.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
From like a dynasty perspective. But if he is going
to have like a good opportunity in redraft somewhere, that's
where I would see it more. I don't have a
lot of confidence in any of the quarterbacks in this draft.
I don't think it's a position of strength. So for me,
it's like, all right, let me attack the positions of
strength and deal with quarterback next year at another time.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
I don't I think I would be like, if these
quarterbacks were in this like last class, like I probably
would put like Pennix and Bonix who I was. I
was low on Bonnicks and then most people were.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
I wasn't well for sure, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Yeah, a lot of people were low on Bonnicks. Most
people were low on Bonx.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
Like.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
There's gonna be people who are right about that, for sure,
But I feel like the majority of the people I talked.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
To were loone them. I counted them out.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
I was wrong, but I probably still would have put
in bon Nick above the rest of these quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Yeah, all right, dad, anything else? Otherwise I've got like
a layup for you.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Can y'all hear him? Or is that just me? Are
you muted?
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Dave?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Huh? I muted myself, didn't I? Oh my god, you guys?
Oh yeah no.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
I married an Oregon Ducks, so I was obligated by
marriage to be high on Bonix from the get go.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Uh but yeah, another quarterback.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Pretty damn soon. You know that's how it's gonna go
for you? All right?
Speaker 5 (26:07):
So Jackson Dark Jalen millerro in the first round is
ludicrous if you're asking me, But uh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
No, I don't like any of them in the first round.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Yeah, I would be shocked if Milroe goes in the first.
It gives me a lot of feelings of like the
Malik Willis hype when it was like him and Kenny
that year where it's like, oh Yeahlak Willis top ten quarterback,
like for sure, bro for sure, and then it was
a third round thing.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
So I got it right, the league got it right.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
Yeah, dude, I'm mister Kitty Pickett, and I knew we
shouldn't even addraft to Kitty Pickett and they were talking
about taking Aleak Willis instead of Kitty Pickett.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
I mean, shoot, all right, so before we jump into
another question from the chat, and just want to show
some love and so it's up man, hope you are
doing good. You'll see this guy at the Faceabootball Expo
does a whole bunch of work for intros and all
that stuff. Really great resource if you're not looking at
his work, and you need to do that because he
(27:05):
does a lot of super cool stuff. So mister Magic
has a question here, so fill in the blank. Ashton
Gent will finish as a top blank running back in Fantasy.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
This year? Easy, all right?
Speaker 1 (27:22):
So we got an easy top ten from Dave Tyler.
You are not that's fair. I mean that's fair. I
mean that's fair.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
I was.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
I was happy to him say that because, like I
I really love the guy, but like I definitely have
like a little bit of trepidation just based on like
you know, he crushed when he's playing like the regular schedule,
and like he was really good in the Penn State game,
but like he looked a little bit more human right
playing against like you know, more elite talent was like
thirty four hundred or something like that. Definitely not a
(27:48):
bad game, Like he wasn't bad, but like I'm like,
is he gonna be that electric at the next level?
I have some like I held back just a little
bit from that, but I think the top ten is
like a good spot for I'm like, you know, talking
about that range of like you know, Breese Hall probably
like you know, Josh Jacob's range like that. I'm that
cusp of you know, kind of running back one. I think,
(28:11):
you know, top ten, sure, I'd be going on the
lower end of that. He's probably gonna settle in my
early redraft ranks around that kind of like nine to
twelve range. And I think that's really fair.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Yeah, And we're not going to just like brag on
people for the sake of bragging. But Tyler knows a
little bit about ranking number one guy last year and
doing that, so I probably want to trust that just
a little bit.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
He's a little bit of an idol when it comes
to this. I've done this guy for a long time.
I knew he was smart before everybody else.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Thanks Dave, Thanks Dave, you knew it about his side.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Yeah, all right, Jack, what do you think Ashton gents
top blank five?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I want to throw cold water on the party here,
But I said twelve and this like and that, you know,
Tyler said nine to twelve in redraft. That's kind of
where I fall for a rookie. And this is honestly
assuming that he's gonna go to the Raiders at six,
which is where I'm thinking him planted in a lot
of mocks. So if he gets that top ten draft.
(29:12):
But we saw this with Bijon, like literally, Jon and
I see ash and genty as like Bijeon Light, which
is a very like that's a big compliment to genty honestly,
and particular opportunity and everything like Yeah, I mean dynasty.
I'm very interested in genty, but I just think in
(29:33):
redraft and this this happened with Bijeon where he got
pushed up too much that first year where he was
going like high mid first round in redraft leagues, and
I was like, nah, and I think the same thing's
gonna happen, and it's gonna be somewhat like he's gonna
just do enough to be like fantasy relevant and again
(29:55):
ten to for ten to twelve. But if you take
him at like one of six, you're gonna be like,
I don't know if I like that pick.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, it's gonna be very interesting to see. I like
to pull up different ranking sites when we're talking about
this stuff. One of my favorites to use during draft
time is the Draft Sharks ranking list. I feel like
they have a pretty song set right now. They have
him listed for their redraft full PPR RB six, so
he's going ahead of people with the likes of Derrick
Henry Devon, Han Brese Hall. I feel like that's a
(30:30):
bit rich in my opinion. I would be taking someone
like a Kyron Williams for sure over him, who they
have at RB thirteen. But again it's gonna be like
a landing spot kind of thing. So we'll see what
happens running back. I'm very intrigued on how it spills out.
There's been a transition, especially in the last year, about hey,
what do we do? It was almost like a go
(30:52):
zero running back and it seems like I'm more of
a changing of the guard. I think that plays in
nicely just to how much too high safety you're seeing
in the NFL wanting to prevent big play. People are
getting smaller to try to handle the passing attack. And
to be honest with you, the quality of quarterbacks diminished
since we had so many of these great quarterbacks retire,
So you're seeing a much more of a return to
(31:12):
the run game. I think that's gonna translate into fantasy
as well. And you see teams that did well, especially
last year, really leaned heavy on running backs. So they
found gems at the right time. So we'll see what happens.
Let's keep it going with questions that we got in
the chat. So we got Fizzle Dallas. He says, where
are we at with Teed Tyler? I know you mentioned
earlier that's still your guy, Sam. For Fiz, there's been
(31:34):
a lot of pushback over the last couple of weeks. Furthermore,
there was an article that came out today that said
that he doesn't like to watch film and that he
doesn't watch film in his own time. It's like a
very weird thing. I also would say that there's probably
a lot of fatigue just as far as him being
the wide receiver one of the class. He's been doing
it since pretty much he got to Arizona. So is
(31:56):
there any hesitation from y'all as far as him being
the wide receiver one of this class?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
No, not at all. Man, he's in tier of his
own mind. In my opinion, there's no one even close
to him.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
I mean, I would probably say that the next wide
receiver is probably two tears below him in my opinion,
in terms of what I think is gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
So I think people are bored.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
I think if you nailed it with the fatigue thing,
like they're just like, we want to talk about things.
You want to get some takes out there, you want
to get some interaction, like yeah, let's let's haat it
on tet.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
But it's dude, he's so good man.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Like it's like I don't I struggle sometimes with the
comp like it's almost this weird blend for me, honestly,
like AJ Green, Mike Evans, I don't know if you remember,
like Sidney Rice back in the day. Like, I think
he's just gonna be great. He's an elite wide receiver, dude,
He's He's the real deal, man. I I hope that
this uh Tet McMillan. I won't say hates, but you
(32:47):
know the way that people are talking about sticks and
we can get him later in drafts. I sincerely hope
that we can get him later in drafts because I'll
be there trading up at the one to the one
o three or the one oh four if he falls.
To grab my mind, team man, I'm definitely all in
on Teed McMillan.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
I think he's the real deal.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
There we go, any dissension amongst the ranks, Dave, I
saw you nodding pretty steadily there as Tyler was making
his points.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
No, no, no, I mean, I like, I definitely like
Ted McMillan, and I'm not gonna come off that standpoint,
but you know, Tyler over here is good at rankings
before he established that, you know, But I still like
Matthew Golden I do think is close.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I do not.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
I do not like the way that he said there's
nobody close because I don't agree with that.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
I think Matthew Golden is close. The speed that.
Speaker 5 (33:34):
That guy has the ability to make adjustments in the
air to catch the ball. I just really think he's
got a next level talent too, you know. And and
I'm not so I'm not trying to pour cold water
on Tet. I'm just saying there's two wide receivers in
this class that I'm very high on.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
He's He's my second Matthew. He's my second wide receiver.
To be fair like, he is the guy I have behind.
So I'm not totally far off with saying that he's
a down to guy. I think he is. He's my
wide receiver too, fair.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Enough, Jack, any any thoughts there.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
I think wide receiver rookies are just so cut and dry.
I also have Tet one Golden two, but they're very
different types of wide receivers, you know. I look at Tet.
It's funny you mentioned Aj Green. I I kind of
comped him to te Higgins, so another Cincinnati Bengal, but
like that big body catch radius, type guy. The thing
(34:26):
about Tet is I am very concerned about where he lands,
and if it's with the Patriots, I'm fully out. I'm
never I'm not. I'm never drafting a Patriots wide receiver
first round pick ever again as long as I live.
But there's there's situations I think Tet could potentially land
in and I would just frankly be out in terms
(34:50):
of drafting him very high in a dynasty startup or
in a rookie draft, like I will let someone else
take that mistake. You know, Tyler seems very uh, you know,
in on him. Let him have him for two to
three years, and then I'll trade for him on the
cheap and when he then starts to, you know, do
better with a better quarterback at some point. But I
(35:12):
just as a rookie, I think it's very concerning because
like they're even when you look at Ted, it's like, yeah,
he's great, but like he's great because this class is
in that great Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
All right, so let's jump back into the chat. We're
gonna hit some fan love here. So we got Mike Grindberg,
pretty much the goat of content from the Fantas Football
Advice Network. If you haven't seen his face. He's been
working on then, like you haven't been looking at anything.
Dude's a legend. We got the legendary ball Nower in
the chat. We got Captain Joe Cooking. That's great, appreciate
(35:44):
the love.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
He also we.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Got Tyler Spitten facts, fire moji, fire emoje. You just
keep it hot. Let's go. But I have a couple
of comments that I do want to jump back to.
This is something that I think is pretty relevant to
the conversation. So we have an interesting dynamic where we
have a wide receiver slash cornerback who could potentially be
playing wide receiver. I'm with chef here. Travis comes out.
(36:09):
You find out on draft night he's playing wide receiver
for X team. What does that do for you? As
far as where you see him going, I think he's
pushed down into the back half of the first round
because of the risk that he is primarily a quarterback.
I think the way that he has just kind of
navigated his college career career going both ways is awesome.
(36:30):
He'll probably have situations where he can do both. But
I love money and if I'm him a wide receiver too,
like t Higgins, is getting thirty million dollars top cornerbacks
in the league, barely sniffing that. It becomes a very
easy conversation for me to go get that bag so
the least smokes. So if Travis Hunter comes out wide receiver,
(36:53):
does that shift your ranking of Ted as one or
do you think he's established enough? And what does that
mean for Travis Hunter?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
On yourwards, he's in the same tier with Tet I'd
still hold tight on Teed. I mean, maybe it's a
little bit of a hot take, but they'd be in
the same tier together. I really do not think that
he is going to become out as a full wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
I won a team.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
It's kind of like the Jimmy Graham thing. Remember how
like he was a wide receiver, but they kept him
as a tight end because it's a cheaper and it's
a better situation for the team. That like, even if
you're gonna use him as a wide receiver, you're gonna
draft him as a corner. You're gonna say he's gonna
play corner. I don't think it would be easy to
be like a let's put it this way, he's not
playing both ways full time in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
That's just not happened. I really don't think that's possible.
And if you're gonna do something, you don't do part
time corner and full time wide receiver. I don't see
that as being something that's gonna work or gonna happen.
But can you do full time corner with part time
wide receiver certain packages, that's plausible.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
I think that can happen. So you know, for your.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
Hypothetical, he would be number two, same tier top tier
as Tet. I would go Tet over him. I'd probably
favor him a little bit. But at the same time, man,
I think it's unrealistic to think that he's gonna be
in a world where he's just a full time wide
receiver and like doesn't play cornerback reps. I mean, I
haven't seen anything to even suggest that that's gonna happen either. So,
like it's a really tough evail for me, and I
(38:12):
got some kind of taking the stance in my ranks
and now until I get something super concrete that you know,
he's a guy that's just gonna be a part time
wide receiver And for fantasy man, that's just not something,
not something that I can bite on.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Yeah, all right, good deal. All right, So I've got
a two partner with comments that we've had. So we
got chevn the chat Chip Kelly genty feeding families in
twenty twenty five. We love to see the families eating.
But we also had a question in the chat, where
are other potential landing spots do we see besides Vegas?
For gent, I know that y'all brought up the Bears
(38:47):
a little bit at the ten spot. Where else do
we see that potentially happening?
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Can I jump in first?
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Yes, you can, because if Vegas passes on him, it's
Dallas and there's no other option. Dallas isn't gonna pass
on him, you know, so it stops there.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
That's what I think.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
Yeah, I think Bears at ten and then like I
think top of the line Raiders. He could fall to
ten to the Bears, and I don't think he gets
past Dallas either, not with that Jerry's world. Man, He's
not passing that up. There's just no chance.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
It is interesting. I mean, they didn't they signed folks
in the offseason, but they weren't long term. They weren't
big money, So there's there's They're not gonna They're not
gonna have any holes to start the season, but they
definitely don't have a long term solution. I do wonder
with Zach Martin retiring, the depletion of their offensive line,
which was such a strength for so many years, do
(39:40):
they have the luxury to take a running back at
that point when they only really have a one wide receiver,
a tight end, and then fifty million dollar man Dak Prescott,
Like I feel like running back. It would be a
very Jerry Jones thing to do. But will Jerry protect
himself from himself.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
Families in Dallas don't want to move him.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
He wants them to all stay there.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
I'll throw a monkey wrenching because you kind of mentioned, like,
you know, weaponized incompetence from some of these organizations, and
bad organizations make bad moves. What if the Panthers at ate, Hey,
you know this Brooks guy we drafted is basically dead
in the water. Why don't we take shit, Like I'm
(40:27):
just saying that was hilarious. They took Jen the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
And John Arrington's had explodes.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Yeah, I would, Uh, it's definitely possible. I mean, you're
not wrong about that, and it's it's it's on the table.
It's on the table, all right.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
So yeah, I think it's gonna be interesting to see.
Another one that not a lot of people are talking
about that I could potentially see is the Saints. I
think they have more pressing needs, but with Kamara getting
up there in age, they haven't really seen a lot
from the other options that they've had as more of
the thunder to the fighting that is Alvin Kamara. But
let's transition a little bit, so, mister Magic.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
The Saints connection is Kellen Moore once once estion gent
Boise State legend, once, Poise stateless.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Hey game recognized game, So low ranking exercise for y'all,
PPR Redraft, give me your five. I'll give you a
minute to think about it. We'll go to commercial break.
PUKA JJ Neighbors, CD LAMB Amara Saint Brown. So before
we answer this question, if you don't know, this show

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Awesome. Okay, so.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
We've got that, We've got the we got the people happy.
So let's get to ranking. Let's start off with just
number five. Who is there somebody that stands out to
you that's like a very easy bottom of this list,
Like this is an elite group of guys right here.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
So it's it's two or six, you know what I'm saying.
I got Jamar Chason one, and this is six or
most people unless you want to. I mean, you can
get Brian Thomason there if you wanted to. But yeah,
all right.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
So is there anyone that stands out for y'all, is like,
all right, like I'm not really feeling this person on
in this list, or is there is there a particular
person that you're like, hey, like definitely two that's neighbors.
Speaker 4 (42:59):
I mean, so sorry, Jeff Jefferson is at the top.
It's funny that you know mister magic through j j
Jeff and Chase are like the top tier for me,
like that, that doesn't get any better than those two.
So it's J Jeff and it's really the conversation comes
down to these four.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
But we don't have Chase here.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Right, Yeah, yeah, exactly, So we've got Jamar Chase. We
already know.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Chas and JJ.
Speaker 4 (43:21):
Yeah, I feel like JJ is not in this tier.
I'm saying, like this is a fine tier of guys,
but like JJ is above this tier, Like JJ is
to me, he's the clear too.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Without I didn't have to think about that one the
other ones. I think about.
Speaker 4 (43:32):
JJ was the guy I didn't even consider. It's like, oh, JJ,
let's rank the other four.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Yeah all right, so ranked the other four.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
You're you're the best ranker in Fantasy provis this year.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Ranked the other four. Yeah, So I mean after that,
I actually have this neighbors. They're all really close.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
My thing is, I think neighbors half PPR finished wide
receiver seven last year, and he did that with a
conglomerate of Drew Locke, Tommy Cutlets, Uh and Daniel Jones.
And well, I'm not the biggest Russ fan. I don't
know if you all feel this way. Russ is getting
a little bit too much hate. I think he was fine,
Like he actually made Pickens look at I was putting
Pickens in the top ten of my ranks with Russ
(44:08):
at quarterbacks of dudes.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
But yeah, so well, here's the.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Thing about Russ is that Russ his body and brain
are not in sync right now. Russ still thinks that
he's got the young legs that can do things. Like
the best thing that could have happened for Russ last
year in twenty twenty four was they found a way
to like detach his head and put it on Justin
Field's body because he still.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Wants to Yeah, for sure, five good games in five
awful games.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Right, But what we learned, what we learned from Russ
last year, that's he's hesitant to attack the middle of
the field. He is still going to lock onto his
first read and he is going to hold onto the ball.
I think Dable is smart enough to say, hey, we're
going to run this offense through Neighbors. There's not really
much else there right now besides Tyrone Tracy, so I
(44:56):
think that from what they had last year to this
year is definitely an upri We'll see what happens. I
know there were a lot of people that were ready
to sell their soul for Neighbors after the Jamis Winston signing,
and then it fell back to earth a little bit
with Russ, But I think at worst it's a net
neutral move from last year. Even if Russ sees a decline,
like in the deep ball, he had a really he
(45:17):
threw the ball really well deep last year. I don't
know if that's gonna be their game, but yeah, I
think Neighbors is gonna be more than fine. He also
missed some time last year as well, so we'll be
interested to see. I don't know if I'm ready to
crown him and that like echelon of players. Knowing that
CD has already finished his wide receiver one, he played
through a lot of injuries last season, didn't have Dak,
(45:40):
I think I would probably slot him in after JJ
and then aman Ra Puka in Neighbors are probably jostling
it out and I probably have amen Ra at the
bottom of this list.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
I do too, I do too. Do do you guys
feel the same because I was.
Speaker 4 (45:53):
Saying for me, is I love Amarram a Lions fan,
but there's just so many other guys that can score
touchdowns on that Lions team. I'm not I'm not sweating
that the Ben Johnson move like I can't uh physically
can't do it. But I think that you know, he
had a lot of touchdowns and I think he's still
gonna be He deserves to be in this tier, but
there's just a lot more weapons available on the Lions that,
(46:15):
you know, some touchdown variance goes the other way. You know,
a'm and Ra doesn't finish where he does. So for me,
it was i'm an agreeance that that i'm rad is
at the bottom of this list. But again, that's that's
wide receiver six folks. Yeah, all right, what else we got?
So where are we fitting in Pukah versus neighbors? How
do y'all see that unfolding?
Speaker 1 (46:35):
We saw Puka Nakua for a moment there when Cooper
cup left the Rams was really the only option that
they had other than Tyler Higbee for like the passing attack.
But now they've added Devonte Adams on him.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
So yeah, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
And you've got Neighbors who obviously pretty much you know,
talent pool of his own in New York. He's got Slayton,
He's got a couple of other options, but nothing really
challenging targets. So let's let's talk about those two for
a little bit. Jack, I'm gonna start with you, how
do you feel about Pooka neighbors? How would you split
those two up?
Speaker 3 (47:13):
I mean, for redraft, which is what the ranking was,
I actually have Pooka head of JJ. Uh so I
would have Pooka JJ neighbors Am and raw.
Speaker 8 (47:25):
So I think I pretty much the same as everyone,
except that I have Pooka and JJ flipped. And the
meaning because of the quarterback situation, I'm not as believed
for in JJ McCarthy as other people. I think that,
you know, the Larry Fitzgerald sees the potentially that people
were worried about last year with Sam Darnold and j
(47:46):
j Ata, we're it's head this year because it's if
McCarthy is not the thing, then all of a sudden,
you're looking at a bunch of you know, probably no
name backups, and there's not even any good ones available
on the market right now when you look at the
gobbling up Russell Wilson and Jamis Winston.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
So it's like, I think there's actually a lot more
risk to justin Jefferson. People might be acknowledging because of
the success of Sam Darnald last year in this coaching system,
and it's like, yeah, okay, but if you end up
with nobody, you might be having a John Skilton year
or whatever. So I think PUKA because of the situation,
(48:29):
Like you know, it's McVeigh, it's Stafford, it's the Rams.
They're they're bringing the gang back. You replace Cooper Cup
with Davante Adams, Like I don't see, and they even
lost DeMarcus Robinson. So it's like, I don't see any
reason that PUKA changes, and I do think I see
a little regression for JJ, so that's the only reason
(48:50):
I have them flipped. And it's like, as much as
I love Neighbors, the Giants are a freaking clown circus.
So it's like of course I'm gonna have him ranked
a little bit lower. Just I tend to really value
like the teams around these guys. H You're separating between
like the uber elite talent, Like, yeah, I'm going to
base it on how bad is the team around him
(49:11):
and the quarterback throwing him the ball. So that's why
for me, I had Pookah a little Harvard, I would
have pookahead of neighbors though.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
And real quick, I just want to throw this out
there before we kick at the day. Do you have
any concern about that lingering knee issue that he had
throughout the twenty twenty four campaign that Jack, that's for you?
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Are you talking about Are you about poo Yeah?
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Yeah, yeah, oh Pooka is me No, But he just
always plays their injuries, So I mean that's that's like
part of his repertoire at this point is like he's
always gonna be a little bit banged up and you
just have to be able to live with that aspect
of his game.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
Yeah, and then you also know that he's going to
retire by the age of thirty, so sell them to me.
Speaker 3 (49:59):
Now on the chie it's definitely not like again in Dynasty,
my rankings there would have been way different obviously, but
like specifically in redraft, like for this upcoming season, I
would be more on Pooka than Neighbors.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
Sure, Dave, what do you think that's a little net
crack move. That wasn't a weird move. It's just my
neck is.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
I'm an old man and I get stiff. But now, honestly,
if we're talking about these five guys, and y'all are
gonna make me sound stupid because, like I said, I'm
in the big brain room here right, y'all are smarts.
But I like Neighbors more than any of these guys. Okay,
I want Neighbors the most, dude. I mean, it's not
about the quarterback talent. I know that like Jamar Chase,
(50:42):
who's not officially on this list, has the best quarterback talent. Like,
we're not like nobody's gonna say any of these other
quarterbacks are better than Joe Burrow. But I'm not worried
so much about the quarterback talent. Of the five players
we're talking about right now. Molik Neighbors is a unique,
special talented dude, and he's gonna have an incredible career
(51:04):
in the NFL. And if you don't have him on
your fantasy or on your dynasty rosters right now, you're
gonna wish you did. He's gonna have a great career.
I think of these five guys on this list, I
think he's gonna have the best season this year. I
know it's gonna be Russell Wilson or Jamis Winston. I
don't care, because both of those guys have big arms,
(51:26):
and they're gonna get a downfield And that's what Jay,
That's what Malik Neighbors thrives on, is running under a
big pass. You know, this guy's gonna catch deep balls
from yeah or Shaduur Sanders or whoever you know, throw
(51:46):
that name out. Neighbors is gonna succeed inspite despite, in
spite of I don't know what I'm trying to say,
regardless of the quarterback talent.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
Yeah, all right. So one of the things that's been
kind of popping up in the chat is Brian Thomas
Junior Electric rookie season. The rookies last year really showed
out from the wide receiver room, which is funny because
the one that was the safest of the bunch Marvin
Harrison not even being talked about even in year two
in this conversation, But would Brian Thomas Junior slot in
(52:20):
above any of the guys that you have listed? Do
you think he's in that separate tier. I probably have
him in the next tier below these if I was
thinking so. But he's not far behind at all. I
still have a lot of faith in Trevor Lawrence. I
think they'll figure it out with the new kind of
coaching resume that they have. So what do y'all think
about BTJ?
Speaker 3 (52:38):
I have them above LAMB and I'm and raw like
I was the BCG guy last season, I asked the
third and even that I thought was being conservative only
because I was counting the generational talent of Marvin Harrison
Junior and the fact that elite neighbors exist. But I
was so in on Brian Thomas Junior, like I have
(53:00):
so much Brian Thomas Junior in Redraft and Dynasty last
season and it helped me win multiple championships. So yeah,
I was all over BTJ. I think again, it's just
like he was. He was a guy that I was like, Oh,
he's just a dude, Like he is just a guy
that's just the way Mike Evans was able to kind
of just put together ay ten every single year. I
(53:23):
was like, Oh, BTJ is that kind of guy of
like it almost doesn't matter, you know, and you give
him a quarterback with any talent, like it's gonna be ridiculous.
I still it's like you said, I still think Trevor
Lawrence is a talented quarterback. I don't think he's the
greatest quarterback contimpaly played the game the way he was
promoted when he was being drafted, But I still think
(53:45):
he's good. So I yeah, I think BTJ, I'd have
him right there with neighbors. Do you get honestly flip
the coin on them too?
Speaker 1 (53:53):
Yeah, it's funny. I think in ten years we're going
to be looking back and saying, how did that LSU
team lose a game when you had Jade and Daniels,
the league, neighbors, Brian Thomas Junior all in the field
all the time, and that just speaks to how tough
that defense was that year for LSU. So we'll see
what happened. So we're getting close to the top of
the hour. Just wanted to drop y'all with some news,
(54:15):
but Fizz said that the Cowboys are going to be boring.
Defensive line, offensive line. Where are we going to close
the show today? We've hinted at it a little bit.
But Stefan Diggs goes to New England. He signs this
three year deal sixty nine million dollars. Nice, really a
one year deal opt out if it doesn't go well?
What are y'all thinking about, Drake May What are you
(54:36):
thinking about this revamped New England offense? They have an
opportunity at the one zero four to maybe further boosts
that with a tech McMillan with the Travis Hunter. Where
do y'all see this offense evolving? Is there anybody on
that team worth a ride in Fantasy rejobs for the
coming year?
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Oh? Man, I love this offense.
Speaker 5 (54:57):
I love this New England offense with the addition of
Stefan Diggs. Like maybe I'm the stupid one. Uh again,
I've said before, I'm in the room with the big
bets here, But I love this offense and I love
my man. I've loved him since day one, and I'm
on record again and again I love ramondre Stevenson because
(55:18):
of this. Because the passing threat in New England is
gonna be more legitimate. It's going to open up the
space for Remondre to do his work in the run game.
And I think Romandre Stevenson is gonna be one of
the better values in redraft among the running backs in
(55:39):
the entire league this year.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
So you think he's gonna be able to hold onto
the football this year?
Speaker 2 (55:43):
Oh yeah, yeah, he's gonna fix it fumbly.
Speaker 6 (55:46):
Yeah yeah, I get it. I get it.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
I get it. No, I don't think that's gonna be
a continued problem.
Speaker 5 (55:50):
I think he's gonna hang under the ball, and I
think he's gonna pump because is a pump guy.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
And he's after first contact. I saw an article that
did like a historical look. It was talking about Romandre Stevenson.
It was the player that led the league in fumbles
in the previous season, Like the most that they had
the next year was like two. So there you go,
he'll figure it out.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
So what about fumble.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
Itis is kind of a mystery.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
It's not a real thing.
Speaker 5 (56:20):
You know, you struggle with it, then you learn to
deal with it hopefully, you know.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
Tyler, what about use anybody in New England that's peaking
your interest.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
You know, I'm generally in on Diggs, like, you know,
I think one hundred catches, thousand yards maybe maybe like
six touchdowns, what was in reach? Like, he's not the
elite guy he was before. But like, if Diggs is
sitting there in like a pretty fair spot, I'll be honest,
I haven't addressed with my ranking since the signing yet.
I gotta do that, but I'll have interested in Diggs certainly.
(56:51):
I mean, definitely don't think he's washed. I'm not as
in on remandre as Dave is, but I think he
can be fine. I mean, I think for me, it's
Drake Drake may you know, I think he's definitely like
a fine option in one QB league is if you
wait till the very end, definitely still like him in
your super flex leagues. He does have that kind of
rushing upside to him and Hunter her will always be
(57:11):
probably my favorite streamers every single week the way everwhere Yeah,
So I mean like it's it's better, I you know,
I think it has the ability to be, you know,
at least an average offense with the way things are
kind of shaken out right now. But I can see
myself rostering the decent amount of Drake may, decent amount
of digs, probably some Hunter Henry if I absolutely need to,
And yeah, I mean it's it's it's it's a sending, right,
(57:34):
but it's really had nowhere to go.
Speaker 2 (57:35):
But they'll score some points.
Speaker 1 (57:37):
Yeah, and Stefan Diggs right now. I just looked it
up on Underdog Best Ball rankings, wide receiver fifty six
with the ADP of one hundred and eleven.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
So yeah, I'll be taking him value.
Speaker 4 (57:47):
I took him on Wednesday, and I'm a live of
the Best Ball Show, a fantasy alarm, so I mean,
I'm fine with it.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
I think he could command some targets for sure, and
Drake may and get in the ball.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
All right, Jack bring it home for us. Anybody on
the Patriots, I feel like the vibe that I get
from music. You're pretty anti Patriot, But what do you
got for me?
Speaker 3 (58:06):
I'm good. I think rostering Patriots players is the reason
I don't want to play season long anymore. And I
prefer Best Ball because yeah, let me get stuff on
Diggs at wide receiver fifty six and not have to
decide which week I have to fit him into my lineup,
because yeah, I'm pretty out as far as redraft and
(58:30):
dynasty on Patriots. First, I'm not a Drake May guy.
I'm I'm not as sold on him, just because I
just don't see the upside in the Mike Rabel Patriots offense,
Like he's not Tom Brady. So I just again, I
don't I see the value of like, Okay, great, he
can be QB fifteen to twenty. I don't see how
(58:51):
that's like an aspiring thing to be searching for in fantasy.
I want the guy that can. Honestly, I would rather
have Justin Fields for next year in fantasy and just
pure fantasy than Drake May.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
And I don't think it's close. No, And I think
that's pretty fair. Look, I'm just gonna look real quick
at the QB ranks for best ball right now, So
Justin Fields, Drake May actually fifteen and sixteen respectively, Drake
May's fifteen ADP one nineteen, Justin Field's QB sixteen at
one twenty one. I do think Drake May has some
sneaky rush up side. He ran quite a bit at UNC.
(59:25):
I think I'll probably be taking a swing at him.
Obviously in a nutshell, we've seen Justin Fields be like
a QB one already and whenever he is playing, it
seems like he does have a lot of security, at
least for twenty twenty five, with the guaranteed money they
threw at him with the Jets, so he's gonna be
on the field. I don't have faith in him. From
a dynasty perspective, i'd be looking to sell high. But
(59:46):
I do think in redraft he I would rather take
someone like a Justin Fields than pray pay a premium
for the kind of like the top three to four
guys that you typically see.
Speaker 4 (59:56):
So did you all on Fields back in Pittsburgh? Was
that like kind of playing a.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Yes, that would have been my choice. Yes, for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Yeah, And I think from what I know of the situation,
they offered pretty much what he wanted and the Jets
just kind of blew the offer out of the water.
But it's it's just weird. I don't think that they
really expected anything to go the way that they did
last year. Like I don't think they expected to get
Russ for a million dollars. I don't think that they
expected Justin Fields to get traded for like a fifth
round pick or whatever it was. Like it all was
(01:00:25):
just kind of this like random thing that happened. But
I don't think that they viewed him as a QB
one like long term. It was just like, all right,
you're a bridge, we're going to give you bridge money,
and he's not going to ever view himself that which
I would expect a professional athlete to be like, Yeah,
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
At this year.
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
That's what you're right about.
Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
Yeah, I wanted them to give Fields a one year
proven deal and then draft John Mattier next year. That's
what I wanted the Steelers to do.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Where you go, there's well, there's still time for the
second half of that, all right, guys. So we have
been going at it for about an hour, so I'm
gonna let y'all get on with your weekends before we
