Speaker 2 (00:47):
What is up? Everybody? Welcome to the Full Time Fantasy
Football Podcast. As all as I'm your host, Adam krutwerzt
Ad'm on sure a crowd Werst You can find me
on the X their snake joining me again tonight. What's up,
my friend?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
What's up? Adam? What's up? You know, the last time
you and I did a podcast together, it was a
mirror five weeks ago, that's it. And since that time,
you would think that the look the Fantasy football where
entire world sky is falling down on all of us. Adam,
(01:22):
What to do? What to do? Especially coming off of
this past weekend of not decadence in debauchery, but debauchered
and deranged detwo euration. I mean, a lot of shit happened.
It happens all the time, every year, every week in
the NFL. It's just because now we're at present and
(01:42):
we're speaking, but it seems like the sky is falling.
What's going on? What the freaking flip? Man?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I know it's it's we had a couple of good weeks, right,
maybe two weeks or so, maybe three where it was like, Okay,
it's not that bad, and then this week was just destruction.
I was in Miami on Sunday having an R and
R with the wife and I so I didn't watch
a ton of football, but I'm just getting these updates
this guy's or that guy's or it's just it was
(02:10):
a disaster. But yeah, dude, I mean, how do we
do it? You know, it's a people who don't play
high stakes fantasy football don't really understand, Like it's not
even about the money. It's about the Christine a mental health,
well not just a mental health. That's what makes it hard.
It's like, man, when you're in for thirty forty fifty K,
(02:30):
one hundred k, it's like an injury, you know. And
and we play these high stakes leagues. It's not some
home league. Oh I just lost Brendan and you go,
I can go trade for Juwan Jennings or I can
go you know, Jennings is available on waivers here, Like
we're gonna have a question here from three here in
a second here that I'll bring up. But yeah, it's
(02:51):
just it's hard when week to week, it's just.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh, this is this is no joke, man. We're playing
for real bucks here. This is real loot on the
line along with Christie and honor. And when players get
hurt more than anything, forget about underproducing. I can always
handle that because that's not you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
I stick them, he sucks. I can that I was wrong.
I'll take responsibility and accountability. But when players get hurt,
(03:16):
and the big name players a list of them this year,
especially a wide receiver, man.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Dude, and you know, more than I've been playing Fantasy
for thirty years, I'm forty years old. The last couple
of years, there's been more zeros out of just I
remember Gabe Davis last year, like four zeros in ten weeks.
This we just we're just we constantly get zeros. Tank
Dell zero, DeVonta Smith point eight, like might as well
(03:43):
be zero. It's just constant zeros, like it's normal, it's
zero's never existed. Look, if you've got a zero, you
you were embarrassed, like, oh my god, how did I start?
Divanta Smith or Tank Dell twenty one percent target share?
Who freaking cars? Because you don't get point fantasy points
for share. You know, I got ripped for starting Javata Williams,
and I know you appreciate this. All the process was wrong.
(04:05):
The process was wrong. But you know what he got
twenty six fantasy points. How was the process on Tank Dell?
Twenty one percent target share, led the team in air yards.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Nobody cares, man, everybody's playing a gay Davis first of
all this year because it's not even in in game injuries.
They're just getting shut out, which is kind of, you know,
contrary to the norm. But what you just said, I
forgot what you said.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Lots of zeros that you know, Javanta Williams, And.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
It's not about opportunity and target share, man, At the
end of the day, it's all about production and results.
It always has been and it always will be. And
that's why I say analytics.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, yeah, you got you gotta start. I mean, there
is a certain process, But at the end of the day,
it's like, do I think Denver's gonna play with the lead?
Probably Javanta Williams can be a workhorse for them. He's
he was due to score. I mean, the guy's been
tech with a half yard though, like four times this year, right.
You know, it's like he was due to get a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Her too overdue, and he's not. And he's a manifiation
of that team's offensive struggles. The player himself looks dynamite.
I wish you would get fifteen to twenty cat touches
Dan Man. I think he can really uh really produce well.
I think he will going forward. You know, we can
give him a report card for half the season and
also going forward later on. I love Davonte, You and
(05:24):
I are planning. He's our fucking flag plan guy.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, we love him, one of them. Yeah for sure.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
A quick question from three Pick Fail. Do we think
Juwan Jennings plays this week? Beca is it did not
play today in practice waivers tonight? How much fabs should
I put on him? I would put a lot of fabs.
I would put a ton of fab on him. And
I'm only saying this because even if he doesn't play
this to this week, you've got a yuke out for
the year, and Jennings want to be really good. To
hear pretty is shown to trust him like I would
(05:52):
even if he doesn't play this week, I think you
still gotta gotta go get it. He's not available in
a lot of a lot of leaks. I don't know
if this is up.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Oh yeah, I mean I'm in thirty three leagues. He's
available on two of mine. How many is he available
in six hundred and forty three of your leagues?
Speaker 2 (06:05):
That's right, I don't even know. I didn't I didn't
go look. I just go league by the league. I'm
a grinder, so I'm gonna look.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
When i'm bu I would, yeah, I'd spend the house on.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yes, he's a guy you're gonna pay up for for sure.
And also depending on depending on how your what your
receiving room looks like, what your injuries look like, if
you lost Godwin, or if people aren't even talking about Evans,
Evan's gonna be out a month. A month at this
time of the year, making a playoff grind, it's like
he might as well be out for the season. Like,
so Evans is out for a month? You god Win, Shaheed?
(06:37):
That was just like this week. So oh, I know,
I know. So you definitely got to put in for
those guys. Another question, speaking of the rest of the season,
Ferguson or Aughton, rest of the season, that's a great question.
I have a lot of aught, and we might even
have a lot of oton together. I haven't looked.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
No, we don't have any aton together. I don't have
him on a singles on zero shares. Having said that, man,
the opportunity is right for him. The door has been
has been pride wide open with the two injuries. He
has manifestation of it a couple of nights ago. I mean,
forget about targets. Look at the production. I think he
was tight end went overall for the weekend.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yes, yeah, he was. Well, I was close. He was
the twenty two or so. Yeah, it was. It was
close there. There was a lot of tight ads it did.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
They did really well, but including our guy Kyle Pitts.
By the way, I have much maligned and deserves some
kudos and accolades going forward.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Finally coming around. But I like Ferguson going forward. Here
I got Ferguson as a top ten just outside the
top ten. But again he could creep up. He could
be a target monster for them. I'm excited to have
on the team. On my team's now looking to get
him into line. Honestly, dude, I would like would you
start and over like Sam laporta this this week. I
(07:52):
know it's crazy to say.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
He is crazy to say, and I don't do those
type of things, to be honest with you, and that
that will answer the Ferguson question for me. To me,
Ferguson's the second target after lamb On that you know
receiver Dallas Cowboy offensively challenged team year to date. But
hell man, I see, I can't do that, Adam. I
cannot start a guy like Kaitott and with his opportunities.
(08:17):
This is a perfect quintessential example right here. Classic I
cannot in good conscience put Katot in my starting lineup
ahead of Jake Ferguson or Sam laport because I would
feel absolutely dreadful if things didn't go according to plan.
And if things don't go according to plan with Ferguson
(08:38):
and the aforementioned reporter in the lineup, I can kind
of live with myself and shut my eyes at night
and sleep.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, it does. I that's how I That's the Patrick
Mahomes argument sometimes too. I know you're off from last year,
but it's like, listen, I have Patrick Mahomes, Am I
going to start? You know, I don't know Drake may
over Patrick Mahomes like probably not question.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Man, It's completely legitimate, like the Atton question is, and
the fantasy football community is struggling with that question. Personally,
I mean, I'm gonna go down with my best. That's
how I feel about it. I'm sorry, I'm not gonna
play the matchups. I'm not going to play who's hot.
I'm going down with my best. I'm adaptable. What do
(09:20):
you how do you feel about it? I'm adaptable, but
I'm still gonna stick with my best. I'm going with
my studs. Man.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, I think it's hard because who are the studs
like Mahome? Who say the stud I know you, you
know your views on Mahomes, But like there's like a
handful of studs. Period. Laporta stud. He hasn't been you know,
he hasn't been good all year. His best game he
had one catch, one catch for like a sixty yard touchdown.
Like there are no more stuff. I think the matchups
(09:45):
are super important. I think weather is important. I think
game script's important. I think but that all this stuff
so hard to predict. So as far as when you
say studs, and I understand what you're saying, but who
the freaks of stud and.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
He it's a very legitimate point that you bring up
the point, But let me ask you this, do you
think that Laporta. I agree with the premise of what
you're saying, but I disagree with the on how to
proceed and progress actually applying it. So do you think
Laporta at the end of the season is going to
(10:21):
end up with thirty nine or forty one grass for
five hundred and thirty four yards and two touchdowns. I
don't think so. I don't think that's going to be
his final stat line. He is going to turn it on.
He's too talented. The offensive, the offense of the Detroit
Lions is a machine, a well oiled machine at that
And at the end of the year, he's not going
(10:41):
to end up with the numbers that he has to
date half the season, so it's going to be higher
in my opinion, So the explosion, he's got to make
up for it. See, I think contrarily. You know, maybe
it's unconventional, but I think contrarily. Okay, the guy hasn't
produced up until now. He's due. He's primed for putting
up some numbers in the second half of the year.
He's a perfect bi Loo candidate. In my humble opinion,
(11:04):
sam La Porter is, yeah, he's.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Got a nice schedule moving forward the rest of the
rest of the year. I mean yeah, I mean there
is a good point on the Porter. Jameison Williams now
missing two games for suspension. That opens up targets. It's
it's amazing, how like everyone wanted Jamison Williams to be
a thing and then it's like, yeah, but you don't
understand there's only so many balls to go around. Jamison
Williams has become a thing now, yay, but now I'm alright.
(11:28):
Saint Brown is much less consistent. Laporta has been unstartable.
Like you get a lot of these receivers now that
you can't trust them because there's not that many balls
to go around.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh, there's no doubt that Jamison's emergence, says really hurt
the value of the other receivers. And also the running
backs are getting more involved. Gabbs and Montgomery are getting
their share as well. How come Jamison can't stay out
of trouble? Man, He's a bloody mate.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
I don't know, dude's free. He's a freaking mess.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
He's a head case, man, He's just like many other
wide receivers in the league.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I can't stay out of trouble man. You suspend it
every year.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Just attracted to it, that's it. But but yeah, hey,
let's let's quick. Let's talk about one of our teams
that you and I did did together. A little fantasy portfolio.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Oh it's self chest beating time, is it right?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
A little fantasy portfolio.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
As we always hire state building.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
We like to kick our we like to kick ourselves
for all the terrible things, but sometimes it's every now,
and that's it's good to talk through the through the
process here and get rid of this banner as we go.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Overall, by the way, I'm you know, you and I
have teamed up on a couple of teams, but overall,
with half the year in the books, personally speaking, I'm
perfectly fine with where things are right now with the
Snake squads. And if I can have a second half
akin to the first half, I'm going to be in
dann good shape personally for my teams. And you and
I were going to talk about right here, how are
(12:54):
your teams individually doing overall?
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, my my porfosed doing Okay, it's been an interesting
year where like I have a lot of like it's
a year where you really want to look at the
points because I scroll through and look at the rankings,
like I have a lot of teams snake where I'm
like seventh and I'm like, how is this team seventh?
And I click, oh, I'm actually I'm actually in the playoffs, yes,
(13:17):
second in points or third in points, or I've got
a team that's seventh and I'm twenty five points away
from second place, Like it's a it's very tight. So
I'm in a lot of those. I'm in a lot
of those those races.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
For an example, that's only point that you may kind.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Of like this one that we're in here, how we
I we are in second place and we are six
and one with one and fifty three points, but we've
also you know, there's a team behind one than sixty
three and behind that, you know, oney fifty seven, Like
it's a it's a it's it's a race. There's a
couple team nine to sixty two. Now you know, there's
(13:57):
a lot of it's very very tight, like we are,
you know, absolutely, So I.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Don't look at one loss when you look at one
loss records I think too many owners focus on the
standings and they're looking at there and they see their
name in the middle or the bottom of the pack, yep,
and then they don't pay attention, like you stated, to
the points. I mean, the points that we're ultimately going
to get you in the playoffs. And that's all you want. Yeah,
(14:22):
what I'm saying, You've got to keep grinding. So look
at the point totals the average. You know what, Adam,
I don't even look at when I look at all
my teams. I don't know if you do or not.
I don't look at the one loss. I always my
eye is first attracted to the total points.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Yeah. I just resorted my teams actually by points to
help with like, you know, kind of what teams to
really really kind of baby and nurture towards the end
because I have been so many teams. But listen, this
is a tough league. Schlisburg Daily offending, champ Lilass is
in here, Dimmings in here, cubes and Santos are in here. Camera.
I mean, come on, they got Palerimo Palermo down there
(14:56):
at the bottom one and six. What happened palermalist and
I can't.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
You're mister pink. What's going on? Mate?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
He's probably kicking my button a bunch of other leagues.
I'm justus on. But let's let's take a look at
this team quick here and see what was going on.
So Gino and Jalen, you know, this was the team
that we went and we went heavy, heavy Eagles right
right out of the gate. Yeah, we went Barkley and
AJ Brown right out of the gate. Hey, listen, if
we've got Barkley, we want Hurts, we want all those
(15:24):
rushing scores, and it's coming to fruition. We got to Barkley.
We've got a J. Brown. And this is a team
that was without a J. Brown for weeks and weeks
and without T. Higgins for weeks and weeks, and here
we are in second in points and Dobbins one of
your guys, Javonte, one of our guys, how do you
feel about this roster looking looking forward here?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
I like this team, Adam. I like this team a lot.
It's looking real good. I mean, unfortunately, we lost Shaheed
who's on the roster. He's going to be gone after tonight.
But I'm not telling you anybody who were bidding.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
On that's right. Come on, uh but but yeah, we'll
be gone after tonight.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
And we were cursed with Shahid, Yes, we were conversely
blessed with DeAndre Hopkins heading over to that. That's right,
super Bowl champion, undefeated.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
So let's say that that makes me.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
That makes me as yes, and the DeAndre Hopkinson, it's
got to make it a little bit happy.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Yeah, Metcalf might be out this week, but it's it
doesn't look to be a serious injury for him. So yeah,
I mean, I like our solid receiving corps are really
good receiving corps moving forward here. But listen, this team
is going to live and die with these horses, right,
Barkley Dobbins, Javonte Jontay's got Carolina this week, but it's
all be able to schedule at the end of the year.
(16:49):
You know, Concincinnati hit I'm sorry, can the Eagles said?
I mean, that's a Listen, this team's getting into the race.
The question is, man, can these Eagles go off for
two or three weeks as a group and really smash
for us? I like their you know, I like their
chances to do that. What are your thoughts on your
Dobbins and Gavante. As we kind of move forward here,
I'm gonna look up the Eagle schedule.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Well, first of all, from your mouth to the fantasy
football God's ears, as this team is going to definitely
be in the race, because with fifty percent of the
season over and fifty percent still to go, nothing is
a given, you know, nothing at all. What looks is
like first place today can easily in one week, as
you know, we've seen through the misfortune of injuries through
(17:32):
the weeks and through the years can change things on
a dime, a mere snap of a finger. So yeah,
we're looking good right now, as long as we can
avoid injuries. I don't worry about underproduction.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I like the team, but I mean we've been we've
been kind of snake bitting, and we're still here, right
AJ Brown, T. T. Higgins. I mean here we are Eagles.
Last three weeks, the big race Pittsburgh, which isn't great,
but then Washington and Dallas the final the final two weeks.
I could see an offensive explode and against those teams
the last two fantasy weeks of the year to maybe
(18:04):
make us a couple a couple of bucks. But and
then I like to look too and everyone really should
when you're start looking at your roster and building it
for the for the playoffs, because it's a you know,
it's it's you're drafting it. But you're also picking up
guys like I like to find those guys that are
injured away. Like you say, injuries and it could hurt us, sure,
but if you get a guy like Kenneth Walker that
goes down, you get a guy like DeAndre Swift that
(18:26):
goes down. Now you've got rowshawan workhorse. Sharbon A has
already proven to be a workhorse this year. You get
guys that get injured, you know, that help your team
now all of a sudden, that's how you build a juggernaut.
Try to pick up those running backs and those pieces
that are an injury away from absolutely smashing. And hey,
(18:47):
maybe Kinkaid gets rolling here down the stretch. Hunter Henry
has been really good with Drake May. He's a guy
who might need to consider starting over Dalton king Kid
here these next couple weeks, depending.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
On the stow. So now we've come my full circle.
That's what we just talked about, you know, But first
of all, before that, I'd rather be Smit Snake smitten
than snake bitten, and that's where we're heading. So I
love Devontay going forward. He has an easier schedule and
hopefully we'll get the ball in his hands more because
he's the best playmaker, arguably the sole playmaker on his
(19:19):
team after the year Sutton's having to date. But see
if you're if you and I are going to talk
about putting out our starting lineup on this team, I
don't you know, I know, Hunter Henry? What did you
have more points per game? I can't grow up?
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Yeah, yeah, Henry's got Sorry, Henry's got one more point
per game?
Speaker 3 (19:40):
And do you feel more comfortable starting a guy like
Cad Dotten or Hunter Henry over the likes of Ferguson
who was aforementioned or Kincaid, which is the example here.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I mean, do you I like Ferguson over Kincaid? Like,
I don't think I would start them over Ferguson, but Kincaid. Man,
It's like the Bills don't care. They're going to spread
it around and I would just take it week to week.
I mean, Henry's got a tough matchup this week against
against the Judge, But to me, it's a new season
for Henry right like it's a Drake May has been there.
(20:13):
It's like almost like you're start starting fresh, Like what
is he In the last two weeks he's been really good.
Seventeen this week.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Last two weeks, he's been crushing it. Man, I didn't
even like Hunter. Henry is the one guy that I
did that. I didn't sign off on your pick, and
that was well done, So kudos and accolades. But now
we're going back. I see that you're leaning. And a
lot of fantasy football owners do this. I'm not making
a judgment or criticism or a complaint. It's simply a
fact statement. They really do what you're talking about, and
(20:44):
they're watching the matchups, and they're looking at the opponent's
defensive rankings and the field conditions and whether it's a
home run away game and all those factors. And I
don't know, man, when it comes to my studs, I
have a really hard time sitting them, even if the
matchup quote unquote doesn't seem as as you know, as
(21:08):
good for them. I have a problem. I've always had
a problem with that, Adam. I've lived and died with
my studs, so to speak. So you and I are
a little bit at a disagreement on this.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I think yeah, and I think it's a conversation that
people are always having. It's just, you know, my view
of studs might be different than other people's. Like we
were hoping King Kid would be a stud. Well, he
hasn't been. He isn't or hasn't been a stud. It's
not like it's a Lamar Jackson Lamar's or a Josh
Allen or a Jalen Hurtz. No, those guys are studs
week in and week out. They put up the points
(21:38):
forget the match up. King Kaid hasn't been a stud,
so I don't view him as like, hey, we have
to you know, we have to start him whatever. I
mean again, I would lean in Kaid most times, but
I think, I think, I think it's a good thing
to talk about. We had a question here, start sitting
question from three pick again, would you start Richardson versus
Houston or b Nix versus Carolina over GENO. If DK
(21:59):
doesn't suit up, I I'll talk a little about Anthony Richardson.
I love Anthony Richard and going into the year, I
thought he'd get hurt. He has, but I thought the
gains he's played, he would be way better and he
has not. He has been Just I there are teams
Snake where I have three quarterbacks like this person does,
and I've like, I want to cut Richardson to be now,
(22:20):
I have better quarterbacks than Nixon, Gino. It'll be Geno
and maybe somebody else Gino and like Tua or something.
But like, I wish I could cut freaking Anthony Richardson.
So I'm not so that I'm not pressure to start him.
I mean I have a lot of Jared Goff and
a lot of Anthony Richardson. And last year I was
like last week I started seventy five percent golf and
twenty five percent Richardson, And I wish I would have started,
(22:42):
you know, golf the whole way. But I don't know
what what is your thought on Richardson? But in this
in this matchup, I think I would still lean I
don't know looking at the schedule that I think I
would probably still lean Gino honestly, even if DK doesn't play,
because them and the Bills are probably gonna be a
semi shootout in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Well, first of all, it's a question in a vacuum
it's hard to answer these questions without seeing the rest
of his team and the potential upside and downside at
the other positions, and what he's playing for. So, but
to echo your sentiments on a rich I think a
lot of owners feel the angst of being an a
rich owner. It's been a tough sled. He looks like
(23:21):
the second coming of Tim Tebow.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I can't hit a yeah, and you're it out man,
I know, and he has weapons, he's got a solid line.
Maybe maybe when JT comes back it kind of helps
that offense a little bit, But I think that I
would probably go Nix or Geno. Now, again, you do
run the risk of Anthony Richardson breaking the sleeve, right,
(23:47):
so like he has, you do run the risk of, hey,
you don't stirt Richardson all of a sudden he has
ninety yards and three rushing scores and you're like, oh
my god, whereas Nicks that like Knicks, won't do that
to you.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
No. On the up side, So Anthony Richardson, question for
starting on this from this gentleman, it's the same thing
like Ferguson and then Kincaid Ferguson versus Ott and Kincaid here.
I don't think that players that are underperforming year to date,
with fifty of the season under in the books, Adam,
(24:20):
I don't think that they're going to continue their slide.
For the most part, I tend to give good players.
And again, Kinkaid is not a study, You're right, AKA
more Stuteley Ferguson, but he's I don't know if he's
a chieved stud status either. Yeah, but I think that
the players that have been underperforming that are in a
(24:42):
good position, and that we drafted after doing months and
months of analysis in the offseason. I tend to give
them the benefit of the doubt man, and I roll
with them. Maybe I'm overly patient. It's worked out for
me more times than not in my you know, twenty
five years of doing this, but I tend to be
(25:04):
patient and stick with the guys that I've believed in,
and especially if they're underperforming. That doesn't mean I mean, Adam,
if somebody is underperforming to date, what's the odds of
them in the next half of the season underperforming or overperforming?
I mean, where do you draw the line? Are they
going to underperform as they've been doing, or are they
more prone to overperform as they have not been doing.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Yeah, I think it depends on what what the cause
of the issue is, right, Like, if it's is it
they're just dropping footballs, Well, they're not going to drop
all the footballs, are they not? Are they getting targets?
Are they getting air yards? Are they getting you know,
are there injuries like Tyreek and j J Lenwaddel underperforming?
We know why as soon as two US back in
(25:48):
the lineup, you roll those guys back out there and
you expect you expect to them to perform, you know,
Or is it assist a situation where it's a running
back and they're javont Williams. The guy's been techled with
the half yard line four times this year now, and
again he's not stud status, he's underperforming whatever, But like
he's a guy you expect that, all right, he's gonna
(26:08):
that's that's gonna stop happening and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
So I think it's Pickens is another example of by
the way, he's left so many air yards on the field.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
And now he's got a new quarterback, he's got a
new season, and he looked great with Russell Wilson last week, Right,
like it was just just I'm.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
A Pickens owner, so I loved, I loved what I saw,
but yeah, I'm a little bit skeptical, man. I don't
I'm not a rust believer.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
And oh yeah rushtinks, Yeah I know. But it's like
if Rush trust Pickings and he's willing to kind of
lob those beautiful balls on the field, no pun beautiful
Adam pause, Yeah, it's it's I think it works. So
I think bank of your question is, I think it
really depends on why people are underperforming. Why are they
(26:57):
overperforming and that type of thing. You know, our guy's
catching and deep passes where the receipt where is a
blown coverage?
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Right?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Like, Okay, well you can't really count on that. So
I think you'll get to take it on a case
by case basis, and I think that's what we got
to do.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
You know, in Kay's in Kincay's, in k Ka's case,
do you think that Kinka's going to end up with
forty five to fifty catches and five hundred and seventy
three yards and three touchdowns or is he going to
better those numbers at year's end? That's my question.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
Yeah, I think he'll be better in the second half
than he was in the for in the first half.
I think I think you will now will be significantly better.
Does it catapult him from you know, tight end fifteen
on the season to tight end five on the season. Maybe,
maybe not, but I think, I mean it is you
have one touchdown through like seven games, like it's he'll
have more second half touchdowns, I think.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
But there's a lot of players like Kinkaid Adam. There's
so many that we can go through that have been
underforming year to date, underperforming and others I think, in
my opinion, been overperforming. I mean, who can we touch on?
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yeah, well, why don't we talk about this this trade
first and then and then we can touch on those players?
The DeAndre Hopkins trade, like him come into speaking of
a guy that's under underperformed. He's had a knee injury,
he's thirty two, he's been Will Levis is terrible. They
can just go cut him now and move on. But Hopkins, now,
I've heard people say he's a wide receiver fourteen fifteen
rust a season. I don't know about that, but I
(28:26):
think he can be. He can go from unstartable to well,
every receiver's kind of startable in the FFWC because you
got to start three of them, you can start up
the five. But I think he goes to a guy
that like, hey, he's got some pretty decent upside, maybe
like a Keenan Allen type of player where some weeks
he's mad, the next week he gets eleven targets and
two two touchdowns, So they desperately need somebody there. Xavier
(28:50):
Worthy hasn't hasn't been it, Sky Moore, wasn't it, Kadarius Tony,
wasn't it These little guys that they try to make
in the Tyreek kill it's not not happening. But I
think he can be, you know, a Keenan Allen where
he's like a short intermediate guy, picks up big first dollans.
They go to him in the red zone when Cauls
is getting double teamed, and he could be a problem.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
I would tend to concur with that assessment right there.
I think he's in a perfect spot. We left DeAndre
Hopkins for dead on a podcast where he did five
weeks ago based on his lower extremity injuries that he
was suffering at the time. But even DeAndre Hopkins at
seventy five percent is an upgrade on Justin Watson, right
(29:32):
and oh yeah yeah. So so if he's in the
perfect position, I mean, I don't think he's really I
don't think he can fail. He's going to he's going
to overproduce by far what he did you know up
to this point in the season. I think Deandre's due
for a resurgence for sure. For sure, he's on his
(29:52):
I just wish I had more of him now. I
was before. I was kind of happy. But but he's
in a perfect position. And I also think that he
can open up things too worthy potentially as well, just
like I thought that Adams came up would open things
for Garrett Wilson. I don't think that's a death necessarily
a negative. Yeah, Garrett's not gonna get twenty three targets
(30:13):
a game, But if he gets eight or nine and
they're concerted and concentrated, I mean, I think he can
perform just fine and even still be a wide receiver. One.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Yeah, and you're the guy like Dad who's who's searching
for that Super Bowl, searching for that ring. He's gonna
be rejuvenated. He's easy. I think he's gonna be excited.
You'll see him perform, so be excited about him. I
don't think he's a wide receiver. He's not a wide
receiver one moving forward, but he could be a low
one wide receiver two. I'm excited to. Like, Listen, we lost,
(30:46):
like I said, we lost Shahed. So Levon, let me
ask you in that team that we just showed, would
you rather have a healthy Shaheed or Hopkins in Kansas City?
You know, like, not positive you.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Got you got to go with the healthy Hopkins and
KC right, yeah, yeah, exactly. Even though she was becoming
the number one wide out and surpassing a love based
on targets and production, they.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Were kind of fading though, talking about the Saints like
they went to and oh and they were great, and
then the last couple of weeks they kind of you know,
I mean, yeah, she he was fine, was getting there,
but it wasn't it wasn't pretty the last couple of weeks.
And now, you know, well, because I mean.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Derek Carr, I've never thought i'd be saying is you know,
I hear myself saying this, but they need Derek Carr
back in the lineup.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I know, it's crazy, it's crazy to even think about
all right, running back landscape here, like, how do we
you know the studs have have been pretty studley. Obviously
McCaffrey been out, Ouch is right, but Beijeon has been fine,
Barkley's been great at Breist Hall at those guys are
(31:54):
all all hit Gibbs great, Henry. You know a lot
of a lot of the top guys have been really
really good. Haven't really busted a guy? Want to talk
about Rust of season Devin ah Chan, Right, He's a
guy that you and I both loved. We both I
think we both still do love him. The fact that
he's kind of held on like he has despite you know,
(32:16):
the the injury to are really listen to. Uh, you
know people are talking about m vps. To should be
in the top five of the m v P because
that team is unwatchable.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Without without two in there. But man, it's mine how
a team can be so decimated? I mean literally, at halftime,
Tyrek and Model combined.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Had zero zero targets, like zero.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Catchers, and they and they ended up with one each,
one catch for eight and eleven yards disrespectedly.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
It's so it's so stupid. So I love I love
a Chan rest away man I love the offense. He's
proven that they want him to be the workhorse, which
is what we wanted to see. And now wheels are
up rest the season. Talking about about Chan I.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Think has the potential would be the number one overall
running back for the rest of the year.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
A music to my years.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
I mean, I'll just state it, you know.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
I mean, he gets he gets Arizona, Buffalo, the Rams,
the Raiders, the wingl the next five that's a beautiful,
beautiful schedule.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
More than those teams that he gets, he gets back
to it of course, you know, that's what's going to
propel him and it's going to help the other skilled
players Kyreekin model as well. I like h as the
running back on the overall for the next half of
the season.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I would I would love that. Yeah, so that that Look,
how about what are you doing with What are you
doing with you know, kind of the middle of the pack, guys,
what are you doing with you know what the middle
of the pack? What do you do with Kruscia McCaffrey like,
is he a bye guy? I mean, I know we don't.
A lot of the leagues were in there's no buying,
there's no or whatever. But are you do you have
(34:02):
any teams left that are that are viable here with
with Christian mccaffick, is, I know a lot of I
don't think you and I drafted a team together that
is not in good shape with CMC.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Well, one that we are in a little bit of trouble,
like middle of the pack, but still is a team
with CMC.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Yeah, yeah, you know, but even that team, dude, we're like,
you know, sixty points out of out of a freaking
playoff spot getting.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
You know there, we've been. We've been pretty blessed with
that team. So, yeah, you're right, man, CMC is he's
produced as much as Jonathan brook says. I mean people
are picking Jonathan Brooks, right, I'm just right. I mean
people are picking him. I have zero shares of Brooks
and I have two shares of McCaffrey. But man, like,
(34:50):
how do you miss half the season? It McCaffrey comes back,
he could be he could be strong, man, he's well rested.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
And he could also you know, reaggravate it and be
done for the rest of the year. Like you know,
he's gonna miss this week's game, then they have a
buye then he'll probably come back against Tampa, I would think.
And then he's got a really good schedule, honestly, down
he's got Seattle, Buffalo, Miami, the Rams, like that type
of stuff. But it's like he could also it comes
(35:18):
they're a really good team with a with a next
season to be playing the playoff contention next year too,
super Bowl contention they met, he might come back and
be tight and stiff, like you know what, let's just
let's just call it a year on him. So Mason's
the guy would not be dropping. I would not be
I would not be telling.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Yeah, yeah, McCaffrey's the quintessential high risk hy reward player
for the rest of the season. But those owners that
have been patient enough to wait this long, you say
he comes back there buys in.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Week nine, right, yes, and then he should be back
week ten.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
So two more weeks to go. You know, if you're
if you've held on this far, kudos and accolades to you,
and uh.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Yeah, talk talk to me about the Jaguar situation. Do
you think it's Biggs be'es now to lose? Do you
think I mean he's definitely everyone can see it's one
of the storms where everyone can see it. Bigsby is
the better runner. He's the better runner for sure than
ETN is. Does when et comes back, does ETN take
over the pass catching role? They let Bigsby still cook?
(36:22):
Or like what nobody really knows? Is he worth a
flex start? What's your what's your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
You would think that if Doug Petersen, being in his
right mind and fighting for you know, his job, would
would allow the better clearly, as you stated, the better
of the two backs to be on the field the
majority of the time, clearly work in his favor. You know,
as a thirty owner of Beingsby and a zero percent
(36:51):
owner of ETN, I hope that Doug comes to his
senses and does the right thing because he's, like you see,
he is a better back man. But to answer your question,
who knows what's going through these coaches? Heads? Man? You
know there's there's money involved. You know you you paid
et and more money than Bigsby. But again it comes
(37:12):
to jot down the job security. You think that Doug
would do, uh what's in his best interest?
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Now?
Speaker 2 (37:17):
Yeah, no, I completely agree. I think the job screity
thing is is the point right, That's like, if he
wants to keep his job, he's got to play his
best best guys.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
And Bigsby's Adam.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, a beast, and I you know, my buddy, it's
almost funny speak speaking of Chan. My buddy text me.
We are in a big a big money home league together,
and he's like and he he takes care of everything,
and and he he never asked me line up questions
and and he texts me he's like, hey, this week,
Bigsby over a chan, right, And I'm like, I'm like, no, no,
(37:50):
a Chan. And just to confirm, like I went to
a couple of different websites, you know, you went the
full time with a couple of like everyone has a
chan way over Bigsby, Like, I think you gotta go
with a chan, And of course Bixby goes for two touchs.
It was just like, bro, don't ask me again. I
hate being the guy to like to do that.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
That's the right call. I mean, you know, that's that
was the right call. See, I don't know, man, what
if they went off, you know, and did twice the
production that bigs we did, then that happened on any
given week, even next week, who would you play? I'd
play a Chan over Bigsby.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
Yeah, yeah, especially with to a back. I don't think
it's a question question from Jerry though McMillan or Shepherd
for waivers. I don't even want to like answer his question.
You know, I'm in about seventy two leagues with Jerry
mc millan. I think Shepherd, I mean, I think Shepherd
would have shown something by now. I mean he's just
(38:49):
a journeyman receiver who's hasn't I mean, he's shed spots
here and there. But I always like to go with
the rookie or the younger guy that hasn't had a
chance to prove himself yet. Here he has now. I
don't think either of them are gonna smash. I think
they might be flecked. I think mcmillany's flexworthy until Evans
gets back. But you know, I'm not super excited. If
(39:09):
I had McMillan already got a roster and I'm like, oh, look,
look I found a little pocket a little pocket money here,
I might I might be starting it. But I don't
know if I would go crazy on McMillan either. I look,
I look a couple other players instead.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Yeah, I would tend to agree McMillan had a lot
of He had decent opportunities a couple of nights ago,
but he didn't really make the best of him, much
like JSN, Jackson Smith and Jaba has been doing all year.
But that's a different story. Yeah, McMillan is the better play,
but I don't know if I would disrespect Sterling as much. Yeah,
he's a journeyman, but he plays hurt and he's had
(39:47):
some horrific injuries in his career. And when the guys
on the field, he produces. He's always kind of produced.
I'm but yeah, I go with the younger rookie was
healthy McMillan as opposed to chef. But yeah, don't don't
blow it. Don't again, don't prematurely blow your wad, Jerry,
which you're known for doing.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
That's right, don't do that. Have surprised he had any
money left to be To be honest, what are you?
What is your thought? We were both in on JS
and he's been disappointing to say the least. He's you know,
he's got it's a it's it's a crowded receiving core.
Maybe with Metcalf out this week, we can know us
what's gonna happen, that Calf's gonna be out in Jake
Bobo's gonna freaking like you like you did last year.
(40:29):
Is gonna freaking be a thing. But I don't know, man,
Jays sounds almost becoming unstartable.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
You know what, Adam though, It's it's kind of a
conundrum wrapped in a riddle, so to speak. Because j
s N is in the top five I believe of
targeted receivers in the NFL. Maybe, I mean he's way
up there, man, I'll look it up right now and
and air yards that he's left on the table, you know,
(40:55):
I mean, I know that's an analytical thing, man, George
Pickens and Garrett Wilson and others Courtland Sutton to name,
you know. Because the quarterbacks can't get them the ball.
Aaron Rodgers stinks, by the way, he's such a prima dime.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
But Jay, I'm gonna hold out hope on js and
Lockett hasn't gone away like we wanted him to. He's
still a thorn on in jsn side. But I'm I'm optimistic.
I remain the glasses half full of whiskey, not milk
in jsn's case. And I think the best is yet
(41:33):
to come from him, and I hope I'm not wrong
on that. What do you think?
Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, he's not. He's top He's ninth in the NFL
and targets. Dad blows my.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Mind, Dan, come on, I thought he was top five,
but ninth. He's a second wide receiver man on his
own team.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
That's crazy. It's thirty seven catches on fifty five targets
for three injury. He's everything eight yards of catch, which
is I mean you gotta go down to?
Speaker 3 (41:57):
Like, why.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Eight yeards of catch? You gotta get down to? I
was here for thirty seven Josh downs. Eight yards of catch?
You gotta get down It's it's.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
The Robinson like four and a half or something.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Who is that?
Speaker 3 (42:11):
Wan Dale Robe? Oh god?
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Probably yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah, it's interesting.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
The opportunities at him JSN, I don't. I mean, he's
getting the opportunities. It's just they're all.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Around the line of scrimmage. Man, They're all around the
line of scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
He's not able to do. That was supposed to change
from last year under Ryan Grubbs this year and not
under Shane Waldron last year. That was supposed to change,
and it really hasn't. I think he's getting more targets downfield,
he's just not converting him. Geno and him have been off, man,
I've been watching. They've been off. They're not connecting Rodgers
and Garrett Wilson for a lot of this season.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Well, let's hope, let's hope it doesn't start. Uh, let's
hope it doesn't start this week in Buffalo. I'll to
tell you that much.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
I'm sticking with an. I'm sticking Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
I mean, I guess you got to. I mean, he's
got he's got the target, so he'said, you know, he's
he's got a decent floor, I guess, but may just
doesn't pop off or any big plays or.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
He's do man. And right way you're looking at it
is one way and the other way to look at
it is he has underperformed here to date. He's due
and he's going to get the numbers at the end
of the year. So here it comes, he's going to
start over overproducing for the second half of the year.
That's how I feel about him. Others I would feel differently.
I'm a VS and truther.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yeah. Uh. Brian Thomas Junior, that's a guy that where
we've got. I've got a bunch of Brian Brian Thomas.
I think he's he's been incredible. Lawrence loves him. I
think he's not I think he is the number one target. Well,
Evan Ingram's come back and been really really awesome too.
For the two games that Ingram's been back, when, I
(43:40):
think it's Ingram and Thomas for sure in the passing game.
Brian Thomas must start wide receive for two rest of
the season.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
Yes, you know, Adam, I'll give you a lot of
kudos and much accomplished accolades for for being on Brian
Thomas in the beginning of the year. I know you
were scooping him up in a lot of leaves that
we were competing against each other. I don't have a
single share of Brian Thomas, and he's proved me dead wrong.
(44:07):
He's been brilliant. Yeah, he's been producing brilliantly. He took
over the role from Kirk. Yeah. Ingram of course absorbs
more targets when he's back in. But I kind of
thought that Brian Thomas was more of a one trick pony,
akin to a lad DeShawn Jackson or somebody that would
just run long routes and clear it, clear things out.
But he's proven to be a consummate rock runner man.
(44:29):
He's a good football player. And I'm surprised I missed
totally whifted on Brian Thomas.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, No, I wasn't. I don't. Yeah, I just kind
of took a shot at him. I thought he was.
I mean, I didn't think he was gonna do this
by anything. I thought it'd be a decent flex guy
come out in the second half. Let the work of
receivers do.
Speaker 3 (44:45):
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
I wasn't expecting this. But he's been. He's been really
really good.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
But he's the number one overall performing producing rookie wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
Yes, yeah, yeah, but speaking of being really really good, sake,
he's been excellent. Tonight. We got we got waivers tonight
that we got to get back to because we're grinding
high stakes lunatics. We got to make sure that everything's
tight this week. By the way, thanks to Scott and
f WC for moving waivers back to eleven pm, huge.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Huge, huge thing here.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Give us an extra hour of daylight here to get
our stuff done.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
But yeah, and for Jerry, you know, daily double and
everybody out there listening. You really need to go big
tonight in the waiver wire. That's right. I want to
if you want to procure guys like Jayleen McMillan, Stirling Shepard,
Cedric Tillman and even the guy who's doing jury duty
at present. The kicker for the cowboy is Aubrey. You're
gonna have to spend so jury duty. Yeah, so loosing
(45:42):
up your pockets, man, don't be so tight, it's right.
And you're not blowing at your watch prematurely. Yeah, that's right.
Hey man, half the season's over at him.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
That's right, it is.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
It is waiting for What are you gonna do with that? Money?
Speaker 2 (45:55):
Can't take you with you, I can't take it with you.
So all right, say thanks for joining me tonight everyone.
I will see you next week and good luck with
waivers and good luck in week eights.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
See you guys, Thank you an good luck guys,
