Welcome to the Full Time Fantasy Podcast. Please have me by the Fantasy Football
World Championship, home to the industry'smost accurate rankings. What is up,
(00:51):
everybody? Welcome to the Full TimeFantasy Podcast. I am your host as
always, Adam Krautwurst with Full TimeFantasy and with me again for the second
or third or tenth time because welove having him so much as check.
Cole Sheen. Welcome to the show. Jack. How's everything going going well?
Man, Good to see you. It's that time in the season when
(01:12):
depending on how your team's doing,it's like, let's either wrap this up
get to the playoffs, or it'slike I need a few more weeks just
to make up the difference. Iknow, I know, I feel.
I feel the same way this. The last week six and Week seven were
sensational for me, and I lovedit. And you know, it's those
meet where we want to absorb everythingand you're just everything's great and you can't
(01:34):
wait to do waivers and lineups.Week eight was was horrific. And it's
funny, like I don't I'm nota guy that looks at the scores during
the week, but I could justI just knew, like okay, like
I'm not seeing the usual suspects, not really going off, and then no
one owns more gibs than me,and it's still I guess it mattered to
Vontae Adams crushed me, you know, but just I mean, I lost
(01:57):
a couple. I lost a fiveK jack a point, which is just
excruciating, Like how do you goto beat it for Monday night football?
You're lost by a five K bya point. So I've got a team
that this was the first week Ibenched DeAndre Hopkins, so I hear you
brutal, brutal, But listen,we're grinding it out every every week doing
(02:23):
waivers and all all that good stuff. So we'll uh yeah, well we'll
jump into it this week. Andyou and I have a team that I
think you drafted it. We're comingin together. That's doing pretty well.
Where are we in the overall rankingsfor the for the World Championship, top
top twenty or so. We droppeda little bit in week eight to the
top fifty, top fifty five somewhereelse there. We didn't have a bad
(02:44):
week. We just we won,but we won. We won, so
love it. That's all. Matters. That's right, that's right. And
I'm looking to I'm going to dowaivers and all that type of stuff today
and I'm looking and so how Irank my teams on the site as I
do it by like league rank. But I've got like a like a like
a fourth place team that's not inthe playoffs, but I've got two seventh
(03:04):
place teams that are in the playoffs. I'm like, well, well,
this doesn't make any sense. Iget actually by this, I organized by
points and I've got like at thetop it's usually one, two, three,
and then you'll get like the secondplace team where it's your lowest points
of all teams. Yes, youknow, variants. But I have a
circle Las Vegas championship team that sitslike fortyth overall, and it's like in
(03:30):
seventh place, it's four and four. It's a four and four, like
one hundred point lead on first. It's like, what is going on?
So anyways, let's let's dive intoit here. I'm sure everyone knows uh
has experienced that and what we're talkingabout. Let's talk about a guy that's
kind of breaking out here, TreyMcBride for the front of the Cardinals here
(03:51):
a guy that a tight end.You know, full Time's not tight end
premium, So a lot of timesyou find tight ends in a waiver.
Can can you hear that? Upstairs? Jack? And you that it sounds
like I got an avalanche coming downover here above me. You know it's
funny a little bit. Hey,guys, you're gonna do a podcast.
Can can you be quiet? No, We're gonna jump as loud as we
(04:11):
can on the ceiling above you insteadof actually being being quiet. I thought
you were looking around for full Time. It's like Scott's behind you or something.
Right, Yeah, that's behind me. So anyways, Trey McBride has
a breakout game. Right, we'vebeen kind of waiting for this. Zach
Ertz finally goes on the eye,not finally goes on the iron, but
zach Ertz finally out of the way, I don't want to make it sound
bad, gets out of the way, and last year's second round pick for
(04:34):
the Cardinals goes off twenty six pointfantasy output here eighty eight cent, eighty
eight percent participation, forty percent targetshare. What are you thinking? You
know, I think this is goingto be a case of you know,
last Week's probably gonna be the bestweek of the season, and it's certainly
not gonna be always like this, but I do think this is the turning
(04:58):
point because, like you said,is wrapped, participation skyrocketed without earths,
Like his prior high was just aroundfifty percent, so just getting onto the
field that often. You know,he was targeted in week eight on like
you said, forty percent of youknow, the routes run, so that's
really positive. I think I wouldmaybe temper some expectations because you know,
(05:20):
like six of his catches came inthe fourth quarter. I could I could
see Kyler Murry, which you knowcatches or catches garbage time counts two,
but I could see Kyler Murray andhis return maybe making it a more functional
offense overall instead of just having somesome dump offs. And Arizona does have
(05:40):
the fifth most difficult strength of schedulefor tight end's rest of season, so
not necessarily I don't know if he'llbe league winning at the tight end posission,
but given that it's second half ofthe season and he's a waiver wire
pickup, I think he's definitely avalue. Yeah, definitely a valuable ad
(06:01):
depending on like the injury. Imean, I'm I'm adding him over like
a guy like Tyler Higbee, stufflike that, especially with the quarterback situation
there, Murray coming back giving hima big boot, maybe a big boost,
but a boost at the quarterback positionthere coming off the injury. But
I got like Stafford, like, you know, who knows how long he's
gonna be out, but I wouldthink he'd be out at least, you
know, through through the bye weekfor that. So that's kind of where
(06:26):
I've got him in that range, you know. It's kind of it kind
of has like Michael Mayer vibes tome, like the guy has one good
week and then all of a suddeneveryone going going crazy over him. Although
McBride has you know, this ishis second year, so he's developed a
little bit more than Mayor has.So so yeah, we'll see, we'll
see about that. But certainly worthan ad and not even really available in
a lot of leagues either. Alreadypeople were kind of waiting waiting for this
(06:49):
for sure, all right, weremoving on to another position here. Uh,
you know, kind of this guyhas been probably one of the biggest
busts of the entire season. We'renot talking injuries here, obviously injuries happening.
Guys bust that way. But TonyPollard he's just not I mean,
they put up forty something points lastweek. I think they've had major scoring
(07:13):
weeks and he just isn't a partof it. And no one can really
figure out why except he's just notefficient, right, I mean, mistackles
forced fiftieth in the NFL for runningbacks, average, jarge after contact thirty
sixth in the NFL. Like,he's just he's just not been good.
Yeah, yeah, I mean theoptimist in me and the Pollard fan it
(07:35):
wants me to say, he's justyou know, in Week eight he didn't
even touch the ball in the fourthquarter. He's just been in funky gamestript
game script after funky game script. But if you look, you know he
was an efficiency guy. And thisseason he's got the lowest yards per carry
of his career by like three pointnine versus a five point one career average.
(08:01):
Lowest yards after contact er attempt that'stwo point five to five this season
versus three point eight six career, the lowest rate of explosive runs for you
know ten plus the second lowest yardsper route run in the receiving game of
his career. So it's just fallingoff. And it's not clear whether it's
(08:22):
you know, coming back from theinjury and related to you know, the
lack of explosiveness, if it's agerelated, or if it's you know,
the going from Kellen Moore to MikeMcCarthy. But whatever it is, I
don't see any indicators that it's goingto turn around anytime soon. And that's
and that's you know, absolutely right. And pf fee ranks third worst and
(08:43):
expected Fantasy points per game, likeyou know, right now, he's I
think RB eighteen, I think inFantasy and p PPR sorry RB sixteen,
I mean right there with James Cook, Devin Chan. It's still ahead of
him. Is he hasn't played inthree weeks, you know, he's been
splitting carries with him moster So yeah, Poward's been absolute. But now again
(09:07):
you're not cutting him, obviously you'renot. You're not dropping him, but
it's a situation where maybe in Dynasty, if you're that route, see if
you can trade him. I tradeduh. I traded him for DeVonta Smith
in the offseason and loved it,and now I love it even more.
Not that Devanta Smith's having a greatyear, but he's you know, five
years younger and a receiver, right, that's right. So so yeah,
(09:28):
I mean Pollard, I don't thinkit's gonna get much better for him.
And again, I think it's beenunlucky game scripts too. Like you said,
I mean, you get guys likeJalen Hurts, right, Jalen Hurts.
Every drive ends at the one yardline where he can just fall into
the end zone. He plays ina ninety nine yard field and they always
get to the one. Gus Edwards. Let the last week he's just plowing
in these short touchdowns. You know, Odell Beckham has three touchdowns called back
(09:50):
Gus Edwards score. Like, it'sjust you know, guys, some guys
get all the luck, and thisyear Tony Pollard hasn't been good and he's
not getting any so unfortunately you probablystuck with him at this point. But
but yeah, it's just gonna bea down year for Poward and we'll see
where it goes from there. Butspeaking of a team that's just been unlucky,
(10:11):
the Minnesota Vikings, I mean, first, you lose, you know,
statistically, right, the greatest receiverwe've ever seen through his first three
or four years. And then youlose the heart and soul the team,
the quarterback, Kirk Cousins. Whatlike, where do you go from here?
Obviously they trade for for Dobbs, which is good. It shows it
(10:31):
shows that they're still trying. They'vewon three three straight games here. But
what so, what is how doyou see this going forward? I mean,
I have some Jefferson teams where I'mstill alive, and like, hey,
if I get Jefferson back, nowI lose Cousins. I've got a
lot of Addison teams stuff like that. What what should we expect? Maybe
not this week, Jaron Hall isprobably starting this week, But what can
(10:52):
we expect when we get the newthe new quarterback? And you know,
Josh Dobbs did well for the firstpart of the season, and he played
well for Tennessee last year in theselimited outings. I do think though there's
enough tape on him. Now thisseason, the teams were able to start
figuring him out, which we sawin the second half of the season.
(11:15):
He's certainly a serviceable quarterback. ButI don't think that people quite realize the
level that Kirk Cousins was playing atthis season, he was leading the league
in pass attempts, pass completions, and was tied for most passing touchdowns with
Tua. So he was playing lightsout as far as you know his career
(11:37):
goes, and supporting that team. And I mean, really, the only
better signings you could have hoped forwas maybe getting Kyler instead and having the
Cardinals tank, or you know,I heard some rumors about Jameis Winston.
You know, that might have beenfun for fantasy purposes, but you know,
(11:58):
any available quarter back it's just goingto be a considerable step down and
could really lead to a much moreconservative offense where you know, they're just
afraid to pass that often and everybodysuffers. I mean, justin Jefferson's going
to get his he always does, but I think it could start to look
(12:20):
closer to what we're we've seen fromDevonte Adams this season, you know,
having those those quarterback problems. Ithink the bigger hit though, is to
TJ. Hockinson and Jordan Addison andunfortunately know those that was a top three,
top four tight end and wide receiverplaying his way into wide receiver two
(12:45):
territory, and now you know,I think Hawk will be just another streaming
tight end, maybe streaming tight endplus like i'd put him pretty comparable to
Trey McBride right now. And youknow, Addison is back to a flex
play. Yeah, no, II completely agree. I mean asking might
(13:05):
even be less than than that aflex play once and once Jefferson gets gets
back, I think I think it'sright. Jefferson's still gonna He's not gonna
probably get the quality of targets, but I still think he's gonna get his
targets, and it's gonna be likean offense like like the Bills where they
run through it's it's you know,it's digs or busts essentially. And then
Gave Davis has one game every fourgames that'll be Edison, you know type
(13:26):
of deal. So you know,it's just it just hurts. It hurts
them all. It hurts a lotof the Cousins teams out there out there
too, a lot of a lotof a lot of super flex Cousins teams
are are in big trouble because there'sand and you know, all the injuries
of the quarterbacks. We'll probably gettingtoo more of it here, but it's
just a complete mess out there. You know this week is the like I
was looking like, I have alot of teams where like I went elite
(13:48):
quarterback and I have no backup,and I'm a scar. I'll just wait
till they're bye week to grab them. But by their bye week, Week
thirteen is is like a big oneweek week ten for from a homes like,
there's no I can't wait. There'sgonna be no quarterbacks left on the
waiver wire, So I have tocompete with all the other teams this week
that had injuries and try to grabsomeone before there's nothing left. It's crazy.
(14:11):
Yeah, between the injuries and andyou know QB is getting benched and
the turnover, it's kind of creatinga bit of a grab in this particular
waiver wire week to you know, get at least your starting quarterback if you
if you waited or or had somethinghappen like Cousins. And then certainly as
we start to look ahead to themoney weeks in the tournament, you know,
(14:35):
grab it. You're looking at aquality backup quarterback with a good schedule
for those three final weeks. Uh, we're about time to start looking to
do that too. Yeah, forsure, for sure. And it's It's
interesting because this week was like outsideof quarterback, it's a gross family week,
like there's just there's nothing, there'snothing out there. I mean,
(14:56):
we're looking at Khalil Shakir as likethe Golden Hey, we'll get to that.
We'll get to that. That's right, that's right, all right.
Moving on Cuba, Hubbard took overas the number one back there in Carolina.
You're a Carolina guy, you canprobably give us the insight over there.
But I mean, Miles Sanders,I mean, I don't know if
(15:16):
this was an easy and back inor as you just straight up benched,
Cuba's played better than them all year. What do you think of going forward
here? I mean, I thinkit's a backfield to avoid if at all
possible. It's my hunch. Ithink that Sanders is being eased back in
(15:37):
due to the you know, boththe most recent injury, but he's kind
of had a pattern of injuries forthis whole season, during the training camp
and all of that, so Ibelieve they're they're easing him back in.
And the reason for that. Hubbardhad fifteen rushes to Sanders two, which
on its own you would think, well, he's now the workhorse. But
then Raheem Blackshear ye also got threerushes and two targets. And so the
(16:03):
fact that black Shear is playing aswell seems like it was a close game.
So you know, I think wecan say Sanders is at least better
than Raheem Blackshear. The fact thathe's not getting out there for those snaps
it seems to be an injury relatedas well. I mean, Hubbard was
also just bad from a like areal life football sense, Like there was
(16:26):
a series where he was stuffed onthree straight runs inside the five. Then
they brought out Sanders for fourth downand ended up passing and not you know,
turnover on downs. But it wasnot an effective outing for Hubbard.
So if if it was a coachingdecision and not injury related, his ineffectiveness
might have played him back into amore evenly split committee. But certainly something
(16:52):
will have to continue to monitor.Yeah for sure, I mean I wouldn't
I wouldn't drop Miles Sanders at all. I would hope that crossed my fingers.
Someone in my league does after theysee this always been heard and now
this like I'm just gonna drop andpick somebody else up. And then yeah,
because I mean listen, every runningback especially again, I mean also
isn't super talented, but he's notbehind Marihene Black sheear uh to talented either.
(17:18):
And you know we looked on benchespecially if you went Hero RB or
this. I mean you've got guysin your bank. I mean Clyde Edwards
a layer is on benches. Imean Miles Sanders has a better shot at
at at at production than Clyde Edwardsa lair does. So there's stuff like
that. So yeah, no,definitely don't don't drop him, but you're
certainly not starting him yet at all. A guy that's hopefully people started this
(17:41):
week. And I know a guythat you were higher on this week is
Javonta Williams uh for the Denver Broncos. He found they had a guy got
himself a touchdown, finally, eightytwo rush share, finally, sixty six
snap rate, nineteen fantasy points. That's what we're looking for from a guy.
I saw him progressively getting more work, progressively getting better than a cold
(18:03):
game where they want to keep theChiefs off the field in a game script
where they're winning, right, Itwas kind of perfect for Jabata Williams.
Yeah, yeah, I'm buying whatwe're seeing because I think for Javonte it's
been an expectations problem. Like ifyou asked us prior to all the preseason
reports and things like that, he'scoming back from injury. You know,
(18:26):
we plan. You know, theybrought in p Rhne is kind of the
bridge. It'll be a mid seasontill he's really able to start taking off
and then his recovery and we getall these reports on how well he's doing,
and that may be the case, but he was still recovering from a
really terrible injury. So the factthat now we're seeing him start to consolidate
(18:48):
the work. He had a seasonhigh sixty three percent of snaps. Of
the rushing attempts, he had twentyseven of the thirty two, and he
was splitting the receiving work with pRyn. This is what we would have
expected had he not been such afreak athlete been able to recover as fast
as he did. You know,he was able to get out on the
field and make himself available, butyou know there's still I believe those lingering
(19:12):
effects that were sapping explosiveness and hisability to make cuts that now he's you
know, able to start overcoming that. I do think that he has a
tough road ahead of him. TheBroncos have the second most difficult strength of
schedule for running backs rest of season, but it actually lightens up a bit
(19:34):
weeks fifteen to seventeen, So ifyou can make it there, it certainly
gets better in the important weeks.Yeah, he gets he's got a buy
and then he gets the Bills coulddo not have a good run defense in
two weeks Monday night in Buffalo.I might be at that game. Actually,
we'll see, We'll see what theweather looks, it looks like.
(19:55):
And then he gets New England andthe Chargers the last two games of the
season for the fantasy season, socertainly could could pop off. Pop off
there. You know a guy,a guy that I you know, would
be buying for Dynasty too, anda guy that I really like what I've
seen is Julia McLoughlin. I meanthe guy, even when he doesn't get
a lot of touches, he looksso explosive and a lot of his runs,
(20:17):
So you know, he's a guythat I'm still holding this year because
you're an injury away from him playing. I think pe Ryan is. I
don't know what I don't know whatcontract is and all that, but I
mean, Pete Ryan's a you know, he's he's older now, he's yeah,
I mean, he's just he couldbe a cut in the off season.
Mcgofflin's way better than Pee Ryan is. So Peter I could be the
RB two there next year behind Javantaand then uh and he just just looks
(20:41):
really really good. Still all right, Speaking of looking good, Khalil Khalil
Shaker for the Buffalo Bills here bignight on Thursday Night football last week,
and uh, you know he hedoesn't he he doesn't score. I had
a buddy, buddy man who's textingme, you know, he'd I don't
(21:02):
normally bet whatever, but he sendsme this random he doesn't my Bills fansic
sends me this random Khalil Shakir anytimetouchdown bet and the Bills come out.
The Bills. It's the only bethe made. I'm like, yo,
I'm like, take the Alin over, take take the Gabe Davis over.
Every every bet I gave him hit, he didn't take any of them.
He took the Khalil. He comesout catch catch, catch, him like,
(21:25):
Yo, we're gonna have ten forone hundred and eighty and no touchdowns.
And and he caught that one thatwas within the five. Yeah yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, that'sright rough. But but anyways to
get to get back to it,No, Dawson Knox, Dalton Kinkaid gets
the Dawson Knox targets, gets hisfirst touchdown. Looks excellent, But they
(21:45):
that other role went to Khalil Shakir, And I think that as long as
Knocks is out, Shakir, hopefullyfrom a Bill's passing perspective, we'll get
those targets. What do you think? Yeah, now, I think they
don't have another tight end that theywant to put on the field behind Kincaid
and Dawson Knox. So you seethat eleven personnel coming. And since Shakir
(22:07):
played in Week eight, seventy percentof his snaps from the slot, so
being out there on the field makesa big difference. You know, he
saw six targets, six receptions, ninety two yards and you know with it
was showing a two point seven nineyards per route run and an eight out
of nine, which actually is alittle interesting for a slot player. They
(22:29):
kind of inverted our expectations. Atleast in that week, they were playing
Gabe Davis more up close and actuallyhaving Shakir the slot go out a little
bit deeper, which I think itreminds me of when the Chargers started bringing
in Mike Williams last year instead ofjust having him run those deep routes.
So it's going to be an interestingchange up. But I think, you
know, he's certainly a viable flexplay for at least the next three weeks.
(22:52):
And I think there's a good chancegiven kind of some of the fits
and stumbles that the Buffalo offense hasseen throughout the year. They've been great
in some games and terrible in others. Given how they played on Thursday,
And if this works, if Kincaid, you know, becomes the guy and
they see the advantage of having threereceivers on the field more often, I
(23:14):
can see Shakir playing himself, youknow, in the second year, playing
himself into a more long term role. But you know, it's certainly optimistic
because it appears that he's beat outDeontay Hardy and whoever that other guy was.
I remember there was a cycle ofthree that they were pushing through.
He's at least made the third Billswide receiver, and now that's becoming a
(23:36):
more prominent role. Yeah. No, I think I can't describe to people
like Khalil Shakira is not a greatplayer, but he is so much better
than Dawson Knox. Like Dawson Knocksthinks. I've been saying this since his
rookie year. Now again you givehim past the rookie years. Is a
second round tight ie, not anold miss maybe that never got a lot
of targets. There comes in,has a big play and a Sunday I
(24:00):
was at the game against the Bengals, trucks three people and takes one like
sixty yards and alls. Oh everybodythinks. My nickname for Dawson Knox is
rocks Knocks because he has hands ofstone. Everybody that's during the game,
he stinks. He dropped every everypass that matters, he dropped. He
dropped one. He dropped one tosteal the game against the Giants two weeks
ago. Like Khalil Shakiir so muchbetter and to have him and Kincaid working,
(24:25):
I mean, the offense just waswas, I mean, so much
better. Again, they only scoredtwenty four, but you know they easily
could have scored, could have scoredmore there. So yeah, no,
I think Shakier is worth a pickup, but I think it probably only lasts
for three more weeks because of youknow, they're going to go back to
Knox because they signed him and theylike him and all that stupid stuff.
(24:48):
But but hey, maybe this weekand a Sunday night shootout against the Bengals.
And I will say that the onlytouchdown the Bills had last year in
the postseason game against the Bengals wascol Easley out of the slot, So
maybe maybe that's a uh that's scienceright there, that's science. He's gonna
argue with that. He's a bigscience guy too. I'm sure. All
(25:11):
right, we got we got aquick start sick question here, going back
to McBride, would we start McBridethis week versus Cleveland with a terrible quarterback,
or in Joe cooovers Arizona or TaysomHill verus Chicago. I'm going I'm
definitely going Taysom Hill against Chicago.I just feel like he's gonna get quarterback
(25:32):
reps, receiver reps, tight endreps, running back reps. I think
he's just gonna get too many targetsaround, and they're all valuable around like
the five yard line, the tenyard line for me to take him off
the field. He's got that spikethirty point week. What would you think,
Jack, Yeah, I mean,I think it's the past three weeks
with you know, since Week six, Taysom Hill is number two at tight
(25:52):
end only behind Travis Kelcey. Youknow, short sample size, and it
happens in bursts, but it seemsto be working with them right now.
The New Orleans has been working througha lot to try to figure out how
to get the offense moving and itseems like Taysom has been a part of
that. And uh yeah. TheCleveland defense against tight ends against everybody,
Yeah, yeah, so I definitelygo Tayson. Yeah. I don't want
(26:17):
to start anybody against Cleveland. Jimmyasked a question, speaking of the Bills,
can we talk the rest of seasonschedule for Kincaid and Cook? I
would be happy to The Bills havethe best the best tight ends, right,
that's right, they have the bestrest of season schedule. On Dalton
Kincaid, I mean he's got sixgreat matchups Cincinnati, Denver, the Jets,
(26:38):
believe or not. Just are sogood against receivers. You go to
the you go to the tight end, and then to end this season they
have Dallas Chargers New England. SoI really like Kingkaid. I'm kind of
the opposite. I'm Cook. Imean, they just signed Leonard for le
Leonard Fournette, who's a better passblocker than Cook, who can catch passes.
Cooks still going to have this role, but now I think Cook is
(26:59):
fourth on the depth chart at thegoal line. Right, you got four
Nott, you got Allen, youknow when you got the other. You
know you're gonna get Harris back soonon top of that. So Cook's just
he's I'm not an I wasn't AnneCook in the preseason either. I just
thought that he wasn't gonna get thegoal line touches. He doesn't. They
don't throw to the ball at therunning back. They haven't. So I'm
(27:22):
not on Cook, But Kincaid,I love it. Jack. Yeah,
No, I agree with everything yousaid. Uh you know, James Cook,
I'm I was not as excited abouthim going into the season. I'm
also not as worried about four Nette. Sure. I think I think you
know, I think James Cook profilesis a really steady, low ceiling,
(27:45):
high floor receiver. You're running back, who's going to get the work between
the twenties. Yeah, And Ithink Latavious Murray finally just had his last
ride last week and just played himselfout of the job, and you know,
without having him be reliable on thegoal line. And then Damien Harris
(28:07):
on ir, I think it's justthey need somebody who they can at least
count on to do the simple things. And listen, I would want nothing
more than Allen to get in theshotgun. And he's got Cook and King
Kaid and you know, and allthose receivers out there, Shakir and all.
You know, obviously digs and gaveDavis and just spread it out and
light teams up. But they justdon't. There's a disconnect. I mean,
(28:29):
we can talk about this all there'sa disconnect between the offensive coordinator and
the head coach. That's why Daboleleft because Daboll wanted to open it up
and Ron and run Josh Allen. They haven't run Josh Allen. There's a
big disconnect there between the offensive coordinatorswho they've had and the head coach.
The defensive coordinator, head coach whowants to slow the game down and all
that stupid stuff. But James Cook, I mean, and I will say,
(28:52):
he's been better than I He's RBseventeen. You probably drafted him after
RB seventeen, so you've gotten enoughof him. It's not like he's been
a bust at all. He's beenhe's been fine for you. But going
forward for that's definitely better than whatthe Bills had there before. And so
I don't think that helps Cook atall. So but kin Kate, I'm
excited about for sure. All Right, moving on to a guy that I
(29:14):
know you want to talk about.Do to Mario Douglas for the Patriots.
Talk to me about about him,and before you do, I'm sure you'll
get into it, but I'm gonnasteal so some of your thunder here.
The Patriots wide receiver strength of schedulethe rest of season is top top eight
or nine, because I know thequarterback strength of schedule is actually number one
(29:37):
or two going on for the restof the season. So talk to me
about about the de Mario Douglas.Well, you know this past week we
saw him on eighty four percent ofroutes and he was targeted on twenty six
percent of his routes. He ledthe Pats in both of those metrics.
And that's even with ju Ju SmithSchuster coming back. You know, you've
got Kendrick Bourne out for the restof the season with the ACL which opens
(30:00):
up a lot of opportunity, andeven in the short term Devanta Parker out
with concussion. I think they actuallyfound that the offense is working better through
some of their younger receivers. Itcertainly takes some time under Belichick to get
the rookies more involved, but he'sproving himself to be pretty reliable. You
know, he's got one point nineto three yards per route run that's actually
(30:22):
better, and that's you know,to this date, so that for the
first half of his rookie season,he's got a better yards per route run
than Chris Godwin, Christian Kirk,Garrett Wilson, Jordan Addison and Josh Downs.
I think he's got tons of opportunity, and you know, looking forward,
I think absolute worst case scenario, this is wan Dale Robinson and I
(30:48):
think, you know, best casescenario, you're talking like a dark horse
candidate for this year's I'm on rasSaint Brown, somebody who's just going to
absorb targets, move the offense, and have that consistent role. I don't
think he's am On Rob, butI also don't think he's Wan Dale.
So I think for the rest ofthe year, he's gonna be a really
(31:08):
valuable flex play. I like it. I like it if someone that people
went on to pick up on waiversthis this this week, if he is
still available, He's probably not gonnabe available in Jack's leagues to tell you
that he's available in one, andI almost didn't talk about him tonight the
purposes of depressing to make sure I'mgonna get it, but we gotta do
(31:29):
it the eleven other people in thatleague. I'm bidding so high you probably
shouldn't even try. That's right.Stay away from him, yeah, stay
away from him. A guy that'savailable on every single waven I know we
didn't put this in the in thein the show notes here, but a
guy that I'm just kind of goingthrough, you know, waivers and rosters
and stuff and seeing stuff. Jamisoncrowder back in Washington has an opportunity there
(31:52):
goes for twenty two fantasy points andkind of gets that slot role due to
an injury there is Is he wortha pickup? Is it just because there
was an injury, you know,Washington selling, I feel like it's just
that role that leaves behind all thoseall those targets. What do you think?
(32:13):
Yeah, I think if I sawthe practice reports for today, Curtis
Samuel not practicing, you know, due to the injuries from that game.
Yeah, it's tough to say.It could be something, but I worry
more that that this is Eric theEnemy taking kind of the offensive philosophy of
(32:34):
Kansas City of just rotating receivers andtaking that to the commanders, you know,
with the exception of you know, last week John Dotson was not included
in that rotation, but now it'sfinally you know, back into that.
But it just seems like between thereceivers and tight ends, it's kind of
(32:55):
whose week is it this week?So there are certainly worse plays, and
you can probably, like you said, he's available and all your waiver wires
and you might be able to pickhim up for a dollar if nobody's watching
the show, but you know, certainly you get what you pay for for
sure. Yeah, I think he'sprobably more of a dfs play or something
(33:16):
like that rather than waiver waiver dollars. Okay, quick quick question here,
start sick. Would you start toMario Douglas this week or Dotson versus New
England. I'm gonna let you answerthis first. Jack, you're the You're
the to Mario guy. Uh,you know. I I'd say it's a
me to Mario because you know,I think the Commander's defense was terrible and
(33:42):
just got worse as they've traded awayboth of their edge rushers. I think
the New England defense at times canstand up, and Sam Howell has been
great in certain games, but hasreally struggled against an average or above average
defense. It's really those plus matchupshe takes advantage. I think, you
know, we've seen a week fromDotson, but but there's been a real
(34:07):
steady climb for Tomorrio Douglas, andI just there's so much opportunity there in
front of them, just from aI think the base case projection of the
volume he can expect. Unless unlessthis is a like a Hail Mary,
I need some some serious points, come from behind sort of situation. I
(34:28):
think tomorrow is much safer Tomorrio Douglassaid top seven or eight receiver schedule,
rest away, it's actually top four. He's got four really good matchups,
including this week against the Commanders, who now have zero pass rush by the
way, you know what I mean, like they're not certifiably objectively zero.
Yeah, they're not trying to zeropoint zero. Anthony briks up in the
(34:49):
chat they lost Born as well thePatriots diad for the year unfortunately. So
yeah, no, I'm in there. You know, he's got Washington and
then Indy, who's another positive matchof and then a bye week and then
then he comes out again, Imean, gets a build and maybe a
shootout week seventeen. So we'll see. Yeah, tomorrow, I think it's
certainly an ad, and he's availablein some of the leagues that I got,
so I'm definitely gonna put some waiverclaims in for him. All Right,
(35:13):
what else do we get here? For the for the people? Uh
who? Tomorrow night, Will Levisand the Titans to Titans offense, Titans
team, Hey listen, then theydon't sell anybody, they keep the gang
there. Will Levis talk to meabout Levis because I don't. I went
back and watched his stuff, youknow, looks looked competent, fine,
(35:34):
looked athletic, looked strong, youknow, strong arm. Some of it's
you know, having that DeAndre Hopkins. But listen, no one else was
doing it there before him this season. To me, I get that now.
I know it's not the same draftcapitol and stuff like that, but
I get although it could have beenbecause he was he was projected maybe be
picked in the top five. Iget the Justin Herbert vibes of the comes
(35:58):
in his rookie year an immediate oryeah, rookiear and immediately is awesome,
And you're like, well, Idon't know, he's a rookie, gonna
take time. But in no,you know, sometimes you just especially with
the quarterback injuries, you gotta takea shot. Cross your fingers. Maybe
Will Levis is gonna be great therest of the year. You can't say.
No one can tell me either wayhe's gonna be terrible or he's gonna
(36:21):
be great. My only problem isthey don't want they don't want to pass
the ball a lot. They don'twant to have to do that. They
want to run the ball with DerekHenry. They're not gonna throw the ball
out. But I think Levis couldbe a spark for some of these fantasy
teams to down the stretch. Yeah, I mean I think the I actually
thought that justin Herbert KMP as wellmyself. He's got a cannon for an
(36:42):
army. It was kind of unheraldedcompared to some of the other quarterbacks in
both of their respective classes. Youknow, Week eight, he had the
second highest passing a dot out ofall quarterbacks eleven point eight yards per attempt.
So he's clearly moving it down thefield. The issue is whether this
(37:04):
is is he justin Herbert or ishe Jordan Love Because he only completed nineteen
passes, which you know, itwasn't an efficiency thing that he was highly
efficient, there was just not thatmany passes. Of that nineteen seven of
them went to running backs in thebackfield at a negative a dot, three
of them went to Kyle Phillips atan average of two point three yards,
(37:30):
and four of them went to chigaconQuo at six point five yards. So
what this shows me is that WillLevis this is kind of the overall philosophy
of what the Titans like to do. It's going to be feast or famine.
It's going to be you know, not very many opportunities. A lot
of this short game, a lotof the running to set up for a
(37:52):
few deep shots, and some weeksthose are going to connect and you're going
to have four touchdowns, and someweeks they're not, and you're going to
have very little to go off of. So he's certainly probably the certainly probably
he is likely to be the mostexciting QB remaining on the waiver wire in
(38:14):
terms of upside. But part ofthat upside is just that we don't know
factor right. If it was ifthere was Kyler and Will Levelis on the
waiver wire, I'd certainly be takingKyler, And you know, we could
be eating our words here in afew weeks, or he could be benched.
(38:35):
They could go back to Tannehill oncehe's hearty again. That wouldn't surprise
me, given kind of the thegrumpy old man cred from Mike Rable.
So yeah, I think, youknow, I actually have a main event
league where I've got all these quarterbacksthat got hurt and got benched, and
I just an by and I needa quarterback for this week, and I'm
(38:58):
I have to I'm going with theLevis. But Thursday night against in Pittsburgh.
Just sounds horrifying against that pass rush, against that defense, those fans.
But if he can look competent inPittsburgh, because it sounds like,
you know, everything I'm reading, everything you're telling me is he just takes
what the defense gives him, andI'm okay with that, and then take
(39:19):
that to take those shots. ButI think he's an exciting player. He
also had three carries and two getthree designed runs and two scrambles, so
he does do a little work therewith it with his legs. So yeah,
I like, I like, Ilike what I saw. I like
what I saw, so if yougot to roll the dice. But I
also don't mind starting Pittsburgh defense againstme either. So I think he's actually
(39:42):
ideal on teams where like, ifI just lost my quarterback this week,
you know, Kirk Cousins or somethinglike that, Desmond Rid or god forbid,
I don't know if I would begoing to will Levis to be my
solution for the you know, therest of the season. I actually think
he's really ideal if you have somebodylike Lamar or Hurts or somebody like that
(40:07):
where you've still got bye weeks comingup, and you know there's the injury
risk with the more mobile quarterbacks. You know, Lamar has a history of
getting injured, and so he's ideallyif you have the fab he'd be a
great spot to put on rosters whereyou need to. You have some time
to wait and see play out foranother week or two, see if he
(40:30):
takes over the role, see ifhe's a fluke or not, and maybe
catches it. You know, inweeks fifteen to seventeen. That's the ideal
situation. But if you just lostKirk and you're looking at him and Derek
Carr, you know, I getthat too. Yeah, Week thirteen is
Lamar's bye week. That week, the Titans of the fourth best quarterback matchup
against Indy that week. So youcould do worse than that, for sure,
(40:52):
But like you said, you mightnot even have the job by that.
We just don't know. It's beenthat kind of year for sure.
All Right, one of your guyshere, JSM scores a touchdown again.
I think it's a second score, and I think in as many weeks JSN
scores looks good. Doesn't get aton of targets. But what are your
(41:13):
what are your thoughts on js andthe Seattle offense, and we're moving forward
here in a They had a prettytough matchup this week. I can't remember
who they have, Cleveland, that'sright. Yeah, So yes, you
know what I every time I comeon, I'm contractually obligated to talk about
JSN, So I'm thank you forallowing me to fulfill that cour obligation.
(41:35):
You know, he's up to hHe's getting nine yards of target since the
bye week, which I think goesback to what we were talking about the
first time, where you know, now that they're able to get out of
twelve personnel a little bit more often, they've got more stability on their offensive
line. Their left tackles back, and they signed Peters to be the new
right tackle. There's a little bitmore stability, so they're allowed to play
(41:59):
more eleven person now. He's ableto get on the field more often and
move further down the field before beingtargeted. And you know, he also
broke his wrist, and so youknow, when it comes to rookie wide
receivers, one of the concerns isalways pass blocking, and I would imagine
it's harder to be an effective passblocker when you're recovering from a broken wrist.
(42:20):
I will say that I like tolook at the numbers and the evidence
and make data based decisions. Thatbeing said, I refuse to accept a
reality where something called Jake Bobo willbe a better rookie wide receiver than JSN.
They seem to scheme him up inthe red zone. I have no
(42:44):
idea what his special skills are thatdeserve the sort of treatment, but I'm
going to bet on Jackson Smith andJigba over Jake Bobo, and I believe
he will continue to see This dissensionalso has Seahawks wide receivers have the best
(43:04):
strengths of schedule for weeks fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen. So absolutely,
I don't know if my wide receivertwo rest of season prediction is going to
happen, but if he erupts andmakes up for it in the money weeks,
we'll call it even. It's allthat matters. Yes, I was
just looking at that he has thesecond best remaining schedule the Seahawks ride receivers
(43:27):
do, and the number one byfar for the last three weeks Philly,
Tennessee, Pittsburgh. That's what youwant him for. You want him that
for that shootout for sure? Yeah, Bobo's killing me. I mean,
how is this guy freaking getting outthere and getting It's gross, It's hitting
gross to watch. It sounds likea like a Madden create a character and
(43:50):
somebody sat on the remote. That'sright, that's right. It's just so
bad. But we do have aquestion here, a defensive question. I'll
let you answer at first because I'mgonna look up some some schedule stuff here.
But would you start with all thatsaid about Levis, would you start
Pittsburgh Defense over New England Defense versusWalks, Pittsburgh versus Tennessee, New England
(44:14):
versus Washington Chargers versus Jets. Ilove all of those options, to be
honest with you. So most ofthe leagues that I play, and it's
like the what I'm looking at iswho has the best chance to score a
touchdown? Because that's really a lotof these It's all that matters. Like
one team might get four sacks andtwo picks and it's nine fantasy points,
(44:34):
and who cares you want a teamthat's gonna score touchdowns? So I look
a lot of a lot of stuffI look at is the is obviously quarterback
play, and then the D lineversus the O line matchup because D line
creates havoc, which creates strip sacksand fumbles and picks and touchdowns. So
that's that's really what I look atthe Titans defense. The Titans O line
stinks. Washington gives up a millionsets. I mean, this guy's on
(44:59):
pace to get sacked, you know, one hundred times, and as ben
as Zach Wilson is, they keepit pretty upright and they hand them all
off a lot. So I feellike that would be my last choice.
But who would you pick betream Pittsburghand New England. Yeah, my I
am actually making this exact decision inseveral of my teams this week. I
would take New England first with agood deal of distance. Then it's Steelers,
(45:27):
and then it would be the Chargers. I think of the three of
them. You know, we werejust talking about the big cannon arm from
Will Levis that has the biggest potentialto go wrong, to go seriously wrong,
and to end up with a verylow score. We could just because
we don't know, and the Steelersdon't have the tape on Levis that they
do, you know, necessarily inother games. I think the Commanders have
(45:52):
proven themselves to just give sex tothe other team in buckets and this is
the new defense. Defenses the onething they do well, and especially in
these these matchups against inexperienced quarterbacks. And like you said, I think the
Jets know the situation they're in offensively, and so they do a pretty They
(46:15):
limit the opportunities for pas to gotoo poorly. Feed Breese Hall, keep
it simple, and that's what theTitans could to do this week. They
can hand them off to Derek Henrythirty times to keep Levis safe on the
road against that for defense. SoI think I'm with you. I think
I'm New England and then I'm Pittsburghfor Charlotte. But you probably can't go
(46:37):
wrong on any of those. Andwhoever scores the defensive touchdown would be is
the true answer. Okay for thatone. So but guys, thanks so
much for your start zick questions. That was that. That was a lot
of fun for sure, and Jack, thank thanks for joining me tonight again.
Uh you got any waivers left todo tonight? Or what? What
(46:58):
do you? What are you doingthat's tonight? Lie? You know me
you asked that question, but youknow that I go through like six drafts
of waivers every week, so yes, finishing up that. By the way,
are you going to be uh?Are you the type of Bills mafia
that are you going to jump throughany tables if you go to that game?
Or I will not. I willjump through a table if the Bill's
(47:22):
like making to the super Bowl orsomethingthing like that, then I would.
I'll even video it for for everybody. But no, I'm I'm the guy
that I jack have been to ahundred Bills games in my life. I
just go now for my kids becausethey because they want to go. So
are they going to jump through atable? Their father? Is? I
(47:44):
hear you? We were that beingsaid. Everybody, have have a great
week, good luck this week, good look on waivers, and we'll talk
to you guys next week.
