Welcome to the Full Time Fantasy Podcast. Please m it by the Fantasy Football
World Championship, home to the industry'smost accurate rankings. What is up,
(00:51):
everybody? Welcome to the Full TimeFantasy Podcast. I am your host Adam
Krauwersen with me as always as JackColsen, and tonight we have a special
guest for us tonight, Robbie Dingis, who's a high stakes player doing really
well. This is this season.Unfortunately he's a Cowboys fan as well.
Not a good week for that. But other than that, Robbie, how's
(01:14):
everything going with my friend? Everything'sgoing great. Looking for the Cowboys to
bounce back this week against the Dolphins, so we'll see what happens there.
Right I immediately I like that,Yeah, became a Cowboys fan right after
the game. I'm not a Billsfan Western New York. As soon as
we beat the Cowboys, I'm notgiven the biggest Cowboys fan in the entire
league. So perfect percenario, Jack, how's everything going with you? I'm
(01:36):
my friend, Hey doing well. You know, we're at that time of
the season where it's like I'm tryingto decide whether I'm more excited to see
how this ends, or just likeexcited for it to end and just the
relief of not having to to stressand go through all of these big decisions.
Either way, we're in the homestretch, yes, yes, we
(01:59):
are. So before we get goinghere tonight, guys, we're going to
talk about a lot of the playoffstuff that's going on right now, the
Fantasy playoffs here, the World Championships, stuff like that. Robbie, why
don't you tell the people a littlebit about yourself and more importantly, how
you're doing this year because you're havinga next excellent season. Yeah. So
it's my tenth year with full timeFantasy. I've been doing it all but
(02:20):
one year, I guess since it'sbeen there, I've been in Vegas for
the opening draft, I don't knoweight times, seven times something like that.
Now I've got a bunch of buddies, we go travel to it.
We have one of the best timesever. That first week is awesome,
and this week was extra special atCirca and talk off and now a couple
(02:40):
of my buddies we bring our twentyone year old twenty two year old sons
now and they're getting into it,and so it's really cool. That's kind
of our thing. So we hada really really good season I did this
year. I did ten World Championshipteams, and then I did five.
I have midstakes, And the goodnews is nine of my ten World Championships
(03:06):
made the playoffs, one of themas a dominator, yeah, one of
them having playoffs. And then Igot nine teams planned for the big money.
And then in my midstakes, Ihad four of my five teams make
the playoffs. So that was allgreat. Actually midstakes I'm doing, you
know, had a decent week lastweek. I still got you know,
(03:31):
all four of them are in contentionto win the league, and I don't
know, I'm you know, Ithink I got one in fifty ninth place,
which you know, it's still outa little bit, but I never
know. That's the team that Iactually partnered with my son and my my
daughter's fiance and we put the teamtogether and we were running. We finished
(03:52):
the year at ninth and now we'reat fifty nine half week one, but
never know. And then on myWorld Championship teams, there unfortunately seven of
my nine teams performed under the averagefor the year. That's right, but
we're still hanging on here. Thereyou go. Listen, there's two more
weeks, two more weeks left. You know, I'm right there with you.
(04:15):
I got a lot of that situationwhere I listen, co owning a
team with your son and your daughter'sfancy. That's that's the circle of trust,
Foker, right, I mean, once you get in there, once
you get in there, there's nothere's no getting out, there's no getting
out. Fantasy football money on theline. That's excellent stuff. But no,
Robbie, that's excellent to here. And yeah, dude, the Vegas
experienced circa out here, I sayout here like I'm there now, I
(04:35):
wish, but out out in Vegasis just so good. I can't wait
for next season. A lot ofa lot of great stuff coming five year
agreement they made with Circle. Sothat's excellent, excellent stuff from scott Ian.
So that's gonna be it's gonna begreat next season. I can't I
can't wait. But but yeah, let's let's dive into the show to night,
guys, let's dive into to kindof what we're here to talk about,
(04:58):
and let's talk about Jack. Anice little spreadsheet here of all the
of all the teams here that allthe players on the percentages of the top
ten and the overall percentage. Jackbreak this sheet down. We're gonna go
position by position and a kind ofmost commonly owned players and stuff like that.
But talk to the talk to everybodyabout about the sheet here. Sure.
(05:19):
Sure, So the spreadsheet is notexhaustive of all players on all teams
in the championship round. I focusedin on all the players that are rostered
on a top ten team. Sothis gives us a really good look at
the people who are in the leadright now, the players that they have,
how concentrated they are in the topten, and then kind of versus
(05:39):
the overall or the rest of thethe everyone not in the top ten is
in that overall percentage column, andthen it's kind of sort of then based
on those percentages, so that youknow, there's a few things that jump
out to me. At least youknow, at the top you could see
Christian McCaffrey, both the high stoneplayer over half or right at half.
(06:01):
Five out of ten of those topten teams have Christian McCaffrey, and he's
also ten percent of the two hundredand six championship field teams. So so
by far and away is clearly provingto be the most impactful player, not
only for the most successful teams, but also just the ones that have made
it thus far into the season. So, you know, we had our
(06:25):
I'm going to take that as aw for our earlier Fantasy MVP conversation where
I said that was CMC. Ithink the you know, I have spreadsheet
that says so, So that mustmean I'm right, well, hold on
of it. Your spreadsheet also hasGabe mfing Davis on it. Okay,
so I don't know the algorithm's broken. The fact that ownership not starting ownership,
(06:51):
that means a lot of smart peoplehave Gabe Davis on the other bench.
That's exactly what that means. Butalso Jack to tell like, so
looking at the look at looking atthe sheet and the numbers. If I'm
not in the top ten, okay, what type of players do I need
to get back into the top ten? I probably don't want the players that
(07:14):
are already in the top tenker, correct, That's right. So when we're
going through each position now, you'regonna want to look and the teams that
are the players that are in thedark green on that left column, with
a higher percentage in the top ten. If you're on the outside looking in,
that's me. I'm literally at elevenright now, so I am very
much on the other side of thefence trying to break into this elite group
(07:38):
here. These are the players thatthey are getting points from. Now,
I'm not going to say, like, if you have Christian McCaffrey, you
should sit them in order to getunique or different, like that's ridiculous.
And there are certainly players that havegotten you here that you need to keep
playing. But especially when it comesto close decisions, to flex decisions,
to if you have multiple good quarterbacksand you're trying to decide, you're going
(08:01):
to want to find ways to scorepoints and have big games from players that
aren't necessarily high owned in this topten because they're already ahead of you and
they're getting those points from those exactsame players. So every time, CMC,
I've got Christian McCaffrey on my numbereleven team, which unfortunately, half
(08:22):
the teams in front of me aregoing to be scoring touchdowns the exact same
time I do. Yes, Robbie, looking at this at this list here
real quick, before we move onto the position by position. Do you
have any of these guys kind ofon any of your teams you're looking at,
Yeah, I mean, you know, and that's obviously this list right
here is Evan and why I didn'thave a good first week. I've got
(08:45):
one share Christian McCaffrey, and unfortunatelyI went I picked Hill twice over McCaffrey.
We want to have the opportunity. So I've got three three out of
my ten teams have Hill on it. So that tells you part of the
reason why I didn't have a goodfirst week, because you know, I
was without him. And then I'vegot, of course thelan is another guy.
(09:05):
I've got a handful of shares ofmy Honestly, my biggest share guys
Rashid Rice. I was a bigRashid Rice guy this year. I loved
my ten through twelve round was myI picked up every round. I got
Theelan Ingram or Rice pretty much. And so Rice, you know, he
(09:26):
started the week off great, butunfortunately, uh yeah, without having Hill
there for three of my teams outthat's smarted a little bit. And then
but yeah, well the plus sidefor you, Robbie is that there's not
a single team in the top tenthat has Racie Rice starting or on the
bench. So between that and andTyreek hopefully looking to come back here in
(09:50):
week sixteen, you should be primedfor a good bounce back week here.
Well, I think if the Dolphinsgonna have any chance, it's gonna be
Tyreek Hill go I'm crazy for somethingcrazy. Hopefully his ankle miraculously gets better
and he can, you know, put up a big week and the Cowboys
can win fifty two to forty eight, and you know he'll have five touchdowns.
(10:11):
I don't know, I love it, no anything anything that happened.
I think you're right. You hitthe nail on the head there too.
With CMC like that. His weekwas so good. It's like if you
had him, you were probably gonnaget out of be up there and look
at five teams. I was thesame as you. I didn't have a
lot of top picks, and whenI did, I was going receiver,
so in big spots I do nothave any concursion McCaffrey. So again,
I didn't have a lot of thosetop picks. So you know, that's
(10:35):
sad for me, but good foreveryone who took McCaffrey the guy I mean,
the guy was hurt for every gamefor three years and now he hasn't
missed a game into two years.So but I love him. He's he's
he's excellent. So let's move onto let's move on to the quarterback position
here, Jack, and we cankind of look at it from like a
micro perspective. Talk to us alittle bit about that. Sure, So
(10:56):
when we pop this up here, one of the interesting things you'll see here,
three out of the top ten teamsare quarterbacked by Matt Stafford. And
you know, if you look,I went through and checked on those three
teams, and he's not a backupquarterback. This is he's been on quite
a bit of a heater here inthe last few weeks, coming on strong
at the end of the At theend of the year, he might have
(11:18):
started out a backup quarterback given howthis season has progressed. But he is.
He is the starting quarterback for threeof those teams and is definitely overrepresented
compared to the field. You've gotthree out of ten teams in the top
ten having him, and then overallfor the rest of the championship field only
four percent. Now, I'll bakethe caveat Obviously, the overall numbers are
(11:41):
going to be lower because everything. If you're on this list in the top
ten, you're going to be atleast ten one out of ten. But
that's why it's color coded, andyou're looking to see, you know,
relatively speaking, who's overrepresented and underrepresented. So Stafford definitely popped out as somebody
interesting. If you look a littlefurther down, though, Jalen Hurts.
(12:03):
Only two of ten have Jalen Hurts, but he has almost twice as many
in the overall field as Matt Stafford. So Jalen Hurts a one who isn't
is a killing teams, but he'skeeping them in contention. But he obviously
isn't driving people to the top tenat the rate of some other quarterbacks.
(12:24):
So that's kind of a sneaky onewho I also have personally invested in hopes.
You know, he really turns iton here in weeks sixteen and seventeen.
And then you'll also just see someomissions from this list. You're not
going to see Josh Allen on thislist. For example, you know when
you only throw the ball like whatseven, yeah, exactly like and score
(12:48):
seventeen points at the FFWC. You'renot going to be in the top ten,
but that's primed in these next twogames to really catapult teams into the
top ten. So if you're notthere now and you have Josh Allen,
uh, don't panic yet. Yeahexactly, Alan, Right, Allen's the
type of guy that, yeah, like I said, you don't see him
(13:09):
here, but if, if,if you've got him, he's a guy
that can catapult you right back upbecause you'll be starting him and the people
ahead of you in the top tendon't have him. So that's that's the
type of player that you want tohave and go through and do that.
Robbie, were you on any ofthese quarterbacks rumoring a bell for such?
Are some of your teams? Wereyou? Were you a quarterback early guy?
Sorry? Go ahead, No,you know the one team I I
(13:31):
went early on, well, twoteams. I went early on a quarterback
out of my ten, and Itook Mahomes and Alan, so neither one
of them performed here. And thenof course I stacked Kelsey and Diggs with
both of those, so you know, look good if they have one of
those incredible weeks. But that didn'tpan out. No, my I've got
Dak a couple of times and thatdidn't work out well. And then I
(13:54):
got two a couple of times, and then of course the Allen team,
and you know I had to pickup for you. I lost Herbert and
a couple other guys. So Igot Flacco on a team. I've got
Browning on a couple of teams,So jump on those guys when that a
couple of big weeks. But yeah, like I said, my team that
finished sixteenth in the regular season wasstacked with with Alan and Diggs. So
(14:18):
yeah, there you go. Wehad a Jack and I had a team
that was tent overall most of theseason. And now it's in the fifties.
I think still got a shot fiftiesor sixties. But that was that
was a CJ. And uh whowas our other Kyler? Like Kyler?
Yeah, started out Danny Dimes andGino Smith and quickly pivoted to c J.
(14:41):
Stroud and then Kyler Murray. Listen, speaking of Gino Smith, how
about that sweat Monday night? Peopleare like, oh my god, are
they gonna Now I'm good, I'vegot both quarterbacks? Are they Are they
going to announce who's playing in thisgame, like luckily in one of the
leagues I needed. I started Kyleralready on Sunday, just to kind of
I have to deal with it.Not that Kyler did did anything good,
(15:03):
but but I didn't have to dowith with I can't even imagine having to
sweat that out. Oh my god. I I was messaging during that with
Jerry Bryant, who was at workdoing some important model review but had DFS
lineups for the showdown and had tofigure out was it locker gino from his
(15:24):
phone so that he could set thelineup before it locked while at work.
So Jerry was doing the real sweatthis this past Monday. Gross. All
right, let's move on here tothe running back position that you know,
a little bit more of an interestingkind of position here to look at and
take a look. You know,a couple couple names here, obviously for
(15:45):
Christian McCaffrey, Rare, Shad White, Kyrin Williams. Those guys have been
studs all year. But man,James Cook's a guy that here he comes
right and people I don't want tohear. I'd make ear to the ground
all summer I was, I was. I'm a bi fan Western New York.
I was not on James Cook atall during draft season. And the
reason why is because they don't hedoesn't get goal one carries and he is
(16:07):
and he doesn't. They don't throwthe ball to the running backs and that
was the case all season. Andthen they make an offensive coordinator change and
the basically traded Gabe Davis for JamesCook. They sent David, gave Davis's
corpse off to c and now JamesCook is the guy. So if you've
got James Cook and you made itthis far, wonderful, good for you.
(16:27):
But you kind of got lucky withthe offensive coordinator change. But he's
gonna win a lot of people money. Yeah. The interesting thing will be
when Buffalo's schedule kind of lightens uphere towards the end. I got what
they're playing the Chargers next. Willyou know, when they're not in these
(16:52):
real high octane games and they've gota little bit of comfort, are they
going to go with whatever works? So they're going to appease Diggs because obviously
he not going to appreciate being therole that he's had lately with James Cook.
Are they going to try to,you know, make everybody happy?
Heading into the postseason or are theygoing to continue that. I'm kind of
speculating this because I do not havea lot of James Cook, and I'm
(17:12):
trying to cope with that fact bycreating some of these theories as to why.
Maybe that won't hurt me as muchas as it should, but will
definitely be interesting to see and aninteresting takeaway that I saw just when you
look at running back in these ownershipconcentrations compared to other positions, far more
(17:33):
concentrated than the other positions would theaccept of tight end and laport, which
we'll get to basically what that tellswhen you compare this to quarterback, but
especially when you compare it to widereceiver, a lot more concentrated at the
top. So you know, inorder to have gotten this far and to
be at the front half of therankings, you really need at least one,
(17:57):
if not more, of CMC JamesCook, Ky Chandler, Rashad White,
Kyron Williams. There's a lot ofdifferent ways to a lot of different
receivers to solve the puzzle, butthere's only a handful of running backs that
at least in Week fifteen were theanswer and It's interesting too. I know
(18:18):
what type of drafter Jack is.I don't know what type of drafter you
are, Robbie. But if youlook at this, Jack and I have
been doing these podcasts for months andmonths and months, and you look at
this James Cook, he peaked atwhat sixth round? Chi Chandler Waivers,
Rashad White, sixth, seventh day, thround, Kyron Williams thirteenth, fourteenth
round, Chuba Jalen, Warren KhalilHurt. Like none of these guys our
(18:40):
first, second, third round runningbacks. These are all you know,
guys who went late running back orguys who went McCaffrey and one of these
guys. But most of these guys, man, are not guys that you
spent high draft kick at capitol on. Whereas if we haven't gotten to the
receivers yet, and I could bewrong, but a lot of those receivers
I think, well Tyreek and KeenanAllen obviously, But again, this isn't
show how many fancy points these guysscored, but it just goes to show
(19:03):
you a lot of these teams arewinning with you know, late round draft
capital on running backs. Google Ahead, Robbie, Yeah, yeah, and
here again and running back of coursetwo of my big snags for Stevenson and
Taylor, who are out well withHill. So I had nice benches on
some of these teams with Taylor Hilland Stevenson out then I had mixing.
(19:23):
I have some shares of mixing.Uh Swift and Walker Swift was I you
know, I was loving getting Swiftevery seventh round. And at the beginning
of the year it looked like hewas gonna be something special, you know,
ironic enough, Yeah, I was. I was total Uh. I
stayed away from Minnesota. I didn'tlike the backfield. I didn't know which
one was gonna do it. Theywere talking about bringing another guy's same thing
(19:45):
with Buffalo. You know, therewas some mention early on the year that
they might bring in some help, and I was like, is it gonna
be James cot Who's it gonna youknow, what's gonna happen. I know
he's a great talent, but Ijust I stuck the stateed off those two
guys, specifically U Well, Minnesotaand buff just stayed out of that that
backfl all together. Zero shares ofboth those guys. So once again,
another reason why Week fifteen run agood one for me. But so far
(20:08):
this year, I mean I hadJames James Cooker. Chandeler hasn't hurt me
that bad because you know, I'mhappy with my receiver through the year,
I was happy with my running backs. But and I, like I said,
I have won Christian McCaffrey's share.I took Hill twice in front of
him with the same idea again, some good, you know, taking your
swift Montgomerys, those kind of guyslater in a draft, Man, I
(20:30):
tell you I have swifted some bigspots too, man. And last night
or a couple of nights ago,he just looked terrible. It's not even
like one of those bijon things whereyou complain like, well, the guy
doesn't get the touches. They triedeverything in their power. I had a
five K with Swift on it whereI just needed him to get going.
They couldn't. They were given itto him. Inside the five he couldn't
get in. Then one they handedhe gets in. It's him and a
(20:53):
guy blocking in front of him inthe end zone and he runs into the
freaking ass und of his linemen. It doesn't get in. He freaking he
was terrible. It was terrible.I think Jason Kelsey tackled him on the
ones so that they push him.Jalen Hurts plays in the ninety seven yard
football field every freaking week. Theydon't even huddle. A guy goes down
(21:14):
at the two, they don't evehuddle, they just walk up and they
push him in. It's like,it's it's unbelievable. But sorry, that's
my that's that's by ran On Swift. But but yeah, no, it's
just some interesting spots here and againhaving these guys. Not having these guys
doesn't mean that they were good, they were bad. That's just interesting to
see the type of player, thetype of running back where you were able
to draft them to get in uhand be in the top ten. And
(21:37):
like you said, you know yougot a lot of you got a lot
of Tyreek Hill. Hopefully Tyreek playsthis week. It's good to have.
At this point. You want ifyou're trying to catch up, you want
the Tyreek kills, you want theJosh Allens, you want the explosive players
who the top ten don't really have. That way, you can Taylor.
You can find Jonathan Taylor fully practicethis this week, right and and Moss
(21:59):
didn't. I think, so Ihaven't been deep in the news today,
but I think that's how it was. So that's another guy that could just
bang puts what you're right back upthere. There's two weeks left, not
a ton of time. But Icame in the top five a couple of
years ago and I was like thirtyninth going into the final week and flew
up till like third on that finalSunday. So you can still get there.
Guys, don't be you know,I don't know what the points are.
(22:22):
Jack might have him in front him, but the difference between first and
fortieth fiftieth is probably not that manypoints, so it's one big job.
Like if Josh Allen goes for thirtyfive and Stafford goes for fifteen, well
there's twenty points right r right there. So but anyways, any more thoughts
here Jack on the running back ofthe position. Yeah, there's a few.
I was interested or surprised, Iguess the better word. You have
(22:45):
to scroll down to find Kenneth Walker. He's only one in the top ten,
definitely owned larger in the field. But I guess what surprised me so
much is that he he looked reallygood and explosive, and it had a
good Monday Night football, and especiallygiven that Charbonnay was healthy as well and
(23:06):
that they really just gave it tohim and let him dominate, very similar
to how they did in the startof the season before they started to kind
of cut into fifty to fifty.I was a little surprised that he wasn't
more higher represented that that also maybedraft styles that that maybe just be that
in the fifth or sixth round thatthese players were taking other people. But
(23:29):
that's also a unique leverage point,an explosive running back that just coming off
of it, you know, hecertainly didn't kill you in Week fifteen and
is looking primed given his role toto do well over the next two weeks.
That could be another one of thosehigh leverage players that helps kind of
catapult you ahead into these top ten. Again. How stupid they're playing against
(23:52):
the worst secondary in football with sleighhurt and they're they're pounding out kind of
walker. Listen, we're contractually obligatedto talk about JS side. Oh,
let's throw the JS that touchdown game. What they finally decided to throw the
ball and they go right down thefield and score like Pete Carroll is.
I just can't stand the sight ofhim. It's just kind of stumbles.
(24:14):
He stumbles into these wins, Likewhy would you come out in grounding pounds?
It's just so dumb, like allthose Seattle receivers out there against that
terrible secondary. But man, ohman, what a mess. But you're
right the numbers say, Kenneth Walker'sa guy again can catapult you if you
were able to kind of get inthere with him. At this point,
Gibbs is the same. Only onein the top ten as Gibbs. Yeah,
(24:37):
yeah, he had a great game, you know, Yeah, Which
I think that's I think that's justanother case of draft styles, not necessarily
that he was not a good enoughplayer to get you here, but that
the top ten players were probably takingreceiver when other people were taking Gibbs.
So if you've got Gibbs and youknow you're looking back and you know in
(24:57):
the fifties, sixties, seventy, like it's not over, you're still alive,
and that's a way to easily lapsome people with, you know,
in these next two weeks for sure, for sure, all right, we're
gonna move on here to the receiverposition, Jack's favorite position in the history
of sports. Uh, So we'llslide over here and we'll see de Bell.
(25:18):
Of course, Feeling's a shocker tome. I mean, Feeling was
on all the top teams because hehelped get you there for for the most
part. But then he didn't.You didn't do much of anything in that
in that first round game. Sointeresting to see him on there. Probably
people, I mean, we didn'teven start him in a couple of leagues
Jack in the in the teams thatwe have, and I was okay with
it, and I still am okaywith it. Even the Keenan Allen's up
(25:41):
there. You think you'd see likemore Jordan Edison than you would see Keenan
Allen considering he got zeros. Butwhat do you think about this receiver position
here? Yeah, that's the interestingthing. So like number three is Quinton
Johnston, and I went through andhe was not started on any of those
three teams. But that a commonbench players. You can strike QJ as
(26:03):
just irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. Keenan Allen the same thing. Injured
and given the state of the team, not sure if he's in a rush
to come back, So if youlook at the wide receiver position, it's
really wide open. You've got Debogiven the performance he's at over the past
three weeks. T Higgins is certainlyinteresting with Jamar Chase out this week and
(26:25):
likely next, but then after that, it's not dispersed at all, which
tells me that if you again,if you're a little further back and you've
got a team that's very you reallyinvested your draft capital into wide receivers,
you've got solid, good wide receiverswho are performing, You're not locked back
(26:45):
there. If you've got wide receiveroptions, there's not a lot of teams
that are going to maybe duplicate yourparticular combination of wide receivers given how dispersed
they are. And part of that'salso a function of the format. When
you're starting three wide receivers, itforces a little bit more diversification, which
means that you're going to get moreunique combinations. It's a it's a great
(27:06):
place to get unique. But yeah, if you look, you know just
at even the the players who gotyou here are not the players that are
continuing onward. And the high ownershipplayers that you're talking about, like Keenan
Allen. Uh, it's going tobe somebody else from this point forward.
And that's kind of the chaos ofthis season. We're seeing now, uh
(27:29):
fold you know, unfolding these finalthree weeks. Yeah, and that's good.
So yeah, Robbie, we're lookinghere at Tyreek Hill is only had
what one one top ten team?So that's all that's always good man,
Like, that's that's that's what youneed. That's that's what you want to
see after a bad week like that. Right, do you have any other
these other receivers Rice on it,I don't know. Rashid Rice is even
on is he? Nope? Noteven in the top ten. There's not
(27:52):
a single team, not a singleteam. Just one of my big shares
of steeling. But you know hehasn't done, like you said, even
Ardham at this point, you knowwhat I mean. Yeah, but no,
my biggest share of receivers this yearwas Rice, then Hill, Feeling,
Evans Kirk and Tankdell once again, why I didn't do good less?
Yeah, they're both gone, andthen Curtis Samuel and unfortunately being a Cowboys
(28:17):
fan if you remember, I was, I was big on Brandon Cooks and
I just thought he would come inand do something special, and I was.
I was between him and Addison prettymuch every sixth, seventh round,
and unfortunately I took Brandon Cooks morethan I took Addison. So you know,
I got Addison. But there's DeVanteAdams. I got him, you
(28:38):
know. So yeah, I needto tree kill Rice Combo to go crazy
next week and that'll be helpful.I'm just kind of surprise that even the
guy like you know, I'm aRide a great game, Cooper Kupp had
a great game like these guys thatthat are just not you know, Cooper
Cup one percent of the field, yes, one percent overall, and then
ten percent the top ten. That'sjust it's very interesting to me, you
(29:02):
know. So you're super excited ifyou have a Coop Cooper Cup team,
if he can keep it up.Chase probably is gonna play this week,
so I think he's actually out ruledout. I think so you're not gonna
use it. But yeah, there'ssome interesting players. Again, you're excited
if you see your superstars down hereat the bottom, Devanta Adams, Amra,
Cooper Cup, DJ Moore, SamuelI got three times, So yeah,
(29:26):
a lava, I'm surprised even alave is this high considering he didn't
he didn't play either, but tyreekHill. Yeah, so guys, listen,
it's it's I'm excited to see thisspreads you to Jack but together because
again, a lot of the guysthat I've got on my teams are down
here at the bottom, and that'sthat's what I want to see. I
want to see those guys help me, help me come back a little a
little bit. But I still can'tget over just Gabe Davis, get out
(29:51):
of my face with that. Allright, anything else Jack for the receiver
position. Now, now let's moveon to uh to tight end, because
I think that's really interesting as wellfrom an ownership perspective, it is it
is Laporta and then everybody else. And when it comes to the top ten,
(30:14):
four out of those ten have Laporta, the second being Kate Oughton.
But Kate Oughton I looked he's functioningas a backup tight end on those top
ten teams, So you know, same thing with Tucker Craft. I was
surprised Trey McBride not only just twoteams in the top ten, but one
percent of the overall championship field.Like I guess, Trey McBride just got
(30:38):
picked up on the waiver wire bya bunch of teams that didn't make it
through. So if you have TreyMcBride and you performed reasonably well but not
top ten well in Week fifteen, you still have a very legitimate out.
Now, if you've got an okayteam and you're relying on Sam Laporta to
(30:59):
try to get you ahead, you'vegot a tough road to hoe in front
of you. But there are alot of different options. Isaiah likely coming
on strong here at the end andlooking really good. We'll have to see
if Hunter Henry he's able to comeback at any point with that knee injury
he sustained. But I think thepoint here is just really the the overall
(31:21):
concentration in Laporta. He's driven,He's He and James Cook appear to be
the Week fifteen wonders that have drivenpeople to the top of the board.
So their continued success is going torest on those two players, and your
success in getting into the top tenis going to have to come elsewhere.
(31:41):
Robbie were you were you on theLaporta Van Dui or how did you attack
the tenant position this in this format. So you know, in five of
my ten teams, I took EvinIngram. I loved him. The tenth
eleventh round unfortunate Laporte. I hada couple of times in my midst stakes,
none of my large you know,World Series and World Championship. But
(32:05):
yeah, and then I got Kelsey. Once I've got you know, I
actually picked up Hunter twice and he'son my bench this week twice. Good,
there you go. That helps.Yeah, yeah, No, I'm
actually really proud of myself because normallyone of my one of my kind of
(32:27):
rules, my hard and fast rules, has never draft rookie tight ends because
they just never perform, and whenthey do, like you know, an
all time a rookie tight end seasonis like not even that good at all.
So I normally I'm off. Butthis year I just I don't know
what it was. If it wasjust it looked like the league was kind
of going that way. You know. I was big on Kincaid and kay
(32:50):
to the build. They're using thema lot more as tight end. I
don't know if maybe because the Lionscoach was a former tight end and all
that stuff. So but I wasI was on the porter this year whereas
normally I wouldn't be, and hehas definitely paid off. He's the future
of the position. I think himand Kinkaid both the future the positioners obviously
came about Church trade McBride as well. In Djoku has been like a surprise,
(33:12):
like he like finally breaks out.You know, he just needed Joe
Flacco apparently to unlock the madness thatis David and Joku. But you know
it was just a position, andespecially in this format too, where you
can wait so long on tight end. I mean I was able to get,
you know, for the past coupleof years, you were able to
get like George Kittle and like theninth round, Like, why am I
(33:32):
gonna take unless I'm stacking? Ido have in the midstakes, Robbie,
Like you're saying, I have alot of Kelsey Mahomes in the midstakes because
you were able to get them atthat at the right price, for sure.
But but yeah, Laporte has beenthe guy. And if you want
to catch if you don't have Laportaand you're trying to catch these guys,
you need the Porta to slow down, because that's that's how you're gonna be
(33:53):
able to catch up all these guysthat you don't have. You need them
to stop, You need to catchthem. So it's gonna be it's gonna
be interesting. Probably one of mybiggest misses from this past draft season,
and not because I was like outon Laporta or you know, skeptical of
the rookie tight ends or something likethat, but more so just it just
(34:13):
didn't fit with that stage of thedraft. Like I ended up getting a
lot of Mark Andrews, I wasreally big on. I wanted I got
it at a little Kelsey, butit was Kelsey, Mark Andrews, and
then t J. Hockinson maybe alittle bit of Kittle. But I really
tried to prioritize tight end and justhave something done. And then at that
(34:35):
point, once I've already invested somethinglike that, Laporta was going just a
little you know, I was ableto kind of make those rationalizations in my
head, like, well, insteadof going Laporta ten, eleven, twelve,
I can wait for two more roundsand get KASICKI, or I can
get you know, Hunter Henry orsomebody like that, and that'll pan out
(34:55):
about the same. And that wasdefinitely a big miss on my part that
now is biting me in the ass. So we'll see if I get bailed
out here in the next two weeksfor that. That's right, Listen,
we all need to bail out alittle bit here every every now and then.
But yeah, no, listen, this is this is great stuff.
(35:15):
Jack to quarterbacks and the running backs, receivers, tight ads. This is
all good information to have and certainlyhelpful for people looking to, you know,
to try to catch up to kindof just kind of gauge how your
team is doing. Engage like maybewhat you need to do to kind of
kind of get past these teams.Anything else you want to say before we
kind of move on to the nexttopic as far as like the sheet and
(35:36):
and just are are you going toupdate this bad boy for next week's podcast
you think or what are you thinking? I'm sure I will. I started
making this for self interested reasons sothat I could plot what I'm going to
do for this week, and thenI decided probably be better to share and
leve everybody on on it. SoI'm sure I'll be up late doing this
when my wife is asking why amI not in vet? So this is
(35:59):
from Farm Babe, it's Jake fromState Farm. It's Adam from full time,
Adam from full time. That's right. I love it. But no,
that's that's excellent stuff, Jack Dang. Thanks for doing that. And
before we move on to kind oftalking about some more stuff, I want
to remind everyone we got the theFantasy Playoff Challenge coming out this year again,
(36:20):
guys, it's really great stuff. They have a lot of different playoff
challenges for Fantasy over at the theff to WC, but one of my
favorites is kind of like their theirtheir big one for the grand price is
twenty thousand dollars guys. They alsopay out within the league five five hundred
dollars. You also can get asecond place gets one hundred and twenty five
dollars ffw C bucks. They're sixteendraft six teams as in the number six
(36:45):
teams drafts. It's serpentine just likejust like a normal draft, and you
can draft any amount of players fromany team, it doesn't matter, and
you roll through. I think it'stwo hundred and twenty nine dollars for those
and that's super super fun. Thoseare ex I'll probably do a couple of
those coming up here, and thatstarts right after the regular season, so
(37:07):
I'm excited to do those and butprobably live stream one of those. I
know I did that last year andthe year before, so I know,
Jack and I'll be rocking and rollingin those. Robbie, how did you
did you do the playoff challenge alittle last year? I love I That's
honestly one of my favorites. Imean it is. It's because you know,
you're you're you're not only picking players, but you're also picking you know,
(37:28):
he's this guy gonna play two orthree games, maybe he could get
four games, you know, thewhole thing. And it's just you know,
a couple of years back, Ihad I don't know, it was
the year that Jacksonville was beating NewEngland and I had a stack with you
know, Jacksonville and the other teamand had Jacksonville won that game that New
England pulled off late. I mean, there was nobody it was going to
catch. I mean, it wasyou know, I think like Bortals as
(37:51):
my quarterback or something like that, you know what I mean. It was
one of those and it's just butthat's what's so cool about it, because
you know you can draft a tightend. You hid it. They only
played one forty nineers gonna be onthe first game. But he scores forty
points in the first game and heout scores all the tight ends through it,
and you're like looking like a herobecause you know, no, I
think that playoff is to me,it's it's every bit as fun as the
(38:12):
whole season. And it's short. So with all his short you know attension
span, folks, you get inand you can do the draft, and
what twenty five minutes. It's quick. It's like fourteen rounds. I think
something like that. It's quick again. I like that it's different, each
kind of You can find different typeof competitions all over the internet, and
each one's kind of different. Thisis similar to like to like an underdog
(38:32):
format where you can draft as manyplayers from the same team, only six
teams. It's really fun to payout your excellent twenty grand up. Top
I did pretty well last yearn Likeyou said, it's fun trying to strategize
who's gonna win. And then youknow you can't make it the champion.
You can't make it the super Bowlwith two guys on a team. You
gotta now. It's also the otherthing too, is it's cumulative points as
(38:53):
well, Like it's not just likeyou it doesn't you don't start from zero
every single week. So if youhave a guy, if you have like
a one hundred and fifty point leadgoing into the super Bowl, will maybe
only need one or two guys.So interesting strategy, so much fun for
the people who are fans of teamsthat don't make the playoffs. It gives
you that kind of extra motivation tokind of watch and enjoy it. So
(39:14):
the first because a spreadsheet on thatone that's right now kicking, it's amazing.
That was one year in there, the guy won it. He didn't
have a bunch of guys in thein the super Bowl, but he was
had such a gigantic lead coming inand he just had like maybe you know
a handful of guys, I mean, you know, and he wasn't stacked
both ways, and he won it, you know, and I was like
(39:36):
looking through it, you know,he didn't hardly stack anything and won the
whole thing. But yet most years, of course, yeah, I mean
stacks from both you know, thewinning you know teams in the Super Bowl.
Yeah, a player a player thatlike that, that would be maybe
was on his team that year, was maybe like a Gabe Davis only played
two games, went for seventy fantasypoints or whatever it was in that round
two game and lost. You know, but it gives you that nice,
(39:58):
that nice boost that and so yeah, we'll definitely do a show on that
for for sure, and that'll befun. But but for now, let's
talk about Jacks. Let's show Jack'steam here that he's got the number eleven
overall, you guys don't want tolook at it that way. That's that's
only here we go. So thisis Jack's team here, who's got his
(40:19):
starters and his bench will obviously bemessing with although he's probably changed this twelve
times today. Uh and for thisshow, this is all you know,
he's not even this is this isstarting right now. Just yeah, this
is one big trying to Yeah, those were all fake numbers in the spreadsheet.
I'm just trying to you know, all of the comments, word associations,
(40:42):
everybody, this is fycraft stuff wegot going on. But yeah,
that's right, So yeah, talkto us about obviously you want to compare
some of these players to the sheet. You just showed like you've got the
Christian McCaffrey A chan, I didn't. I didn't say that list at all.
Kyan was on there. So JS, of course you're gonna I want
you to win this whole thing withto the end, but go ahead talk
(41:04):
about it about your team. Yeah, yeah, so this I love this
team. When I when I draftedthis team, Uh, this was the
team when I came to bed andmy wife was up and she said,
how did you do? And Isaid, if I win, it's going
to be with this team. Iremember drafting it. Uh. It was
a beauty. So Jalen hurts.Uh. You know, has had some
(41:25):
big games this year, but butjust they look out of sorts. The
part of that is because they've they'vebeen playing some great competition. They've got,
you know, the Giants and theCardinals. So we'll see if that
turns it around. I'm proud onthis one too. I took the hero
RB approach Christian McCaffrey, but alsodrafted not waver Wired, but drafted Kyrine
(41:50):
Williams and Devon hn which proud tohave grabbed those guys, like you mentioned,
Devon Han not in the top tenand not really in teams in the
top twenty thirty. He's very lowowned at the top here, so you
know, the roles have seemed toshift it a bit in the in the
(42:12):
past few games. Both that couldbe due to injury or to circumstance trying
to get moster the touchdown record forthe Miami Dolphins, or maybe they just
want to keep Han healthy for thestretch. Whatever it is. I'm hoping
that ah Chan can do his bestJames Cook impersonation against the Dallas Cowboys this
week. I'm hoping he can,you know, do those outside perimeter runs
(42:37):
and stretch runs, take advantage ofthe speed and if it's competitive game,
get those targets as well, andthen you know from there. It's been
an interesting team. Actually, oneof my favorite players is Dallas Cowboys kicker
Brandon Aubrey. I mean it hadhis lowest score in Week fifteen, but
(42:57):
the week prior to, when I'myou know, trying to lock up that
number two most point spot in thisleague, bailed me out with twenty four
points on that particular game. Sogiven the trust they have in him,
they are just fine when they getsixty yards out letting him boot it which
hoping that happens here in the nexttwo weeks. Wide receivers, but a
(43:19):
bit of a mess. I've hadsome injuries on this team, Mike Williams,
I've been dealing with, you know, lost might not have Jaden Reid
for this particular week. Just lostKeaton Mitchell wide receiver, you running back,
but obviously one of the flexes. So and probably one of the more
frustrating things is that I do haveJordan Addison on this team, and he
(43:42):
scored twenty eight points for my benchlast week. I just didn't have the
confidence and unfortunately I am about twentyeight points back from the number one spot,
so that one's going to eat mefor a while. But you know,
I do like my Jaden Reid,so I had to start him,
and you know, contractually obligated tostart Jackson Smith and Jigba. I do
(44:05):
think g you know Smith coming back, it's a whole different ballgame. They
were much more pass heavy, youknow, pass right over expectation Seattle was
much higher with Gino Smith. Theyjust didn't trust Drew Locke. That's fine,
but I'm hoping that that that gamewinning touchdown from JSN in the rain
over the shoulder face, beautiful catch. Maybe that'll get a little bit more
(44:30):
trust in him for the last push. But Deebo's been the horse I've been
riding. I've been trying to figureout what to do in the tight end
lottery. I also had Hunter Henryscored nineteen points on my bench and Isaiah
likely eighteen points and Adam I eventexted you and I said, got it
her likely? And you said likely? And I said, I know what
(44:54):
are we doing here? I shouldhave listened to ad him from full time.
But so yeah, that's where we'relooking. It's a it's an exciting
team. It's got a lot ofthe pieces that you have been you know,
just those big games from like KyronCMC. I'm hoping Olave is back
(45:17):
and healthy here. He's gonna playon Thursday. But I hope Derek Carr
can can find him or get injuredquick and let Jamis find him one way
or the other. They're they're inthat hot playoff race with now that Atlanta
has dropped out, it's them inTampa Bay. So hopefully they pour it
(45:37):
on here on Thursday. But yeah, it's an exciting team. Deebo c
MC root for the Niners there andwe'll see what happens. But to me,
I think this team is gonna liveor die on Devon a Chan.
So well, listen, it's goingto be the game I'm watching. We've
(45:57):
got a couple. I have ateam and you we have co owned teams
with Kyrone h Chan and a Lave. I'm gonna need your bench those guys,
Okay, so we so we cancatch up, Like, oh no,
we're gonna catch up. We gota lot of the same guys,
but we also have a lot ofa lot a lot of different guys too,
so uh so, yeah, Robbie, talk to me about you know,
some kind of common guys you've gotmaybe on some of your some of
(46:20):
your teams that are that are kindof chasing it here at the end.
Who you who you counting on heredown the stretch. Well, before we
get that, I was just gonnasay, h shange with what Cook said,
he might cook the last h mayhave four hundred yards and five touchdowns,
so you know, you never know. But if the Dulls can't figure
out a way to stop the run, it could be with him a monster
backer that could be scary. Butwell, can I just say something real
(46:43):
quick, only because just because thisis fantasy and people, obviously if you
have hang you're probably starting in anyways. But uh, the Cowboys played six
and a half men in the boxbecause of Josh Allen. I don't know.
Obviously you're afraid of Tyrek and Waddell, but I don't think anyone's really
afraid of Tua enough to put sixand a half men in the box.
I feel like they might put seven, seven and a half eight, Like,
(47:04):
I feel like they're more afraid ofthe run game than they would be.
And the Bills just the Bills wouldn'tlet up. They're like, if
you're gonna keep putting six and ahalf men, we're gonna keep running it.
And the weather was nasty, soobviously you're starting h Chan. But
I don't think the Cowboys defense isas bad as Yeah, I'm gonna I'm
gonna have to interject with some somehopium here. I'm gonna say that they
(47:28):
were putting six and a half guysin the box because their defensive tackle and
star run stopper Jonathan Hankins was injuredand it's gonna be out this week as
well. Yeah, they he wasone of their last season additions that they
went out and specifically got because theywere terrible stopping the run and he was
excellent this whole season and they didn'thave him, so they had to like
(47:51):
make it up in the aggregate andjust try to get more guys in there.
So that's what I'm gonna tell myselfas they prepared to watch the Miami
Dallas game with one hundred and fiftythousand on the line. That's right,
yeah, oh yeah, no,you know, like I said, like
I said, rough week fifteen forme. So you know, my my
(48:14):
top team of course has McCaffrey onit, but you know I had Henry
who put a five up you knowwhen you know that wasn't too good.
And you know I've got Evans andtheiln and Cooper and Hawkinson on that team,
so you know, hoping forgot theCowboys kicker. I got Flaccos my
quarterback because I lost three quarterbacks alongthe way there, you know, and
(48:36):
so he's been fine. And Ipicked up Josh Palmers, so if he
could, you know, you neverknow, I mean he could come through.
And so that one and then ofcourse, you know my team who
finished sixteenth in the regular season withyou know, I've got Allen, and
that's where I kind of that teamkind of has my guys that I almost
drafted, you know, other thanmy first three picks were Josh Allen and
(49:00):
then I came back with Diggs andAlan I mean Adams, I mean in
reverse for But then I've got Mixedand I've got Swift, I've got Walker,
I've got Brandon Cooks, I've gotRice, you know Ingram Cowboys kicker,
Cowboys defense. So I don't know, but I'm so out that I'm
just looking to have a miraculous weekand you know, get back in it.
(49:23):
Well listen, how many I thinkyou mentioned it earlier? Did you
get any dominators this year? Robbieone? There you go, Well listen,
that pays almost a whole thing anyway, So good for you, man,
that's always that's always nice. Yeah, yeah, got a dominator.
And then I got, like Isaid, the one in the league playoffs
looking okay. And then you know, my four, four of my five,
(49:44):
all four of my five, youknow, midstakes are looking like they
could give me a team for nextyear. So we'll see. I got
two in first place in the league, and one in second place and one
in third place. That are allthe other all within reasons. So we'll
say, well, absolutely killer advancerates. That is, that is insane
(50:07):
to advance that many of your teamand Milwaukee there definitely a good place to
do it here, you know,f FWC, the the ROI at the
league level and being able, youknow, regardless of how you do in
the championship round. Not to saythat you're not going to pull it out,
but it's nice to have the moneyin the bank, ye or at
least, you know, have oneof those teams that you've racked up those
(50:30):
points and are now able to competeagainst either one team or another three teams
and uh, you don't get thatthat bank roll back without having to sweat
out the championship round too. Well, that's so great about the way the
payoffs work and the way everything workshere is because you know, basically I
took my winnings from last year andbought all my teams from this year,
you know what I mean. Andso it's and now you know, like
(50:52):
I said, you dominate one outof you know, ten teams, and
that pays for a good chunk upand you know, that you take place
of midstakes, win a couple ofteams, and next thing you know,
you got ten teams for next year, just like that. And so it's
really cool how they do things.I think they do a phenomenal job of
running everything. I love the youknow, like I said, anyone in
Miss Circa this year, I'd figurea way to get out the next because
(51:15):
it was a really cool event. So yeah, it's an excellent event.
And it's gonna be even bigger andbetter this next upcoming season. I know
that for sure. I obviously can'tokay say anything yet, but there'll be
a lot more stuff, a lotmore social activities and stuff. So I
think it's gonna be really really goodand they're gonna be doing stuff all summer
(51:36):
there with Circa, Like you cango to your home leagues there, you
can go to midstakes drafts there allthroughout August, like people were drafting with
Darius Rucker last year. I mean, come out. I mean what other
places doing that? You know,so excellent, excellent stuff. But I've
done it at the Palms, theMirage, the MGM, and Circa.
So Circa is definitely well up there. But they're all all are great venue.
(52:00):
They were all incredible. But yeah, Circa was was off book last
year, so it was fantastic.I had never been to Fremont Street,
so the Fremont Street experience was somethingto behold. There was something going on
at all times and some interesting peoplewatching to be sure. But you know,
(52:21):
for for everybody sitting at home thatdidn't come out last to last summer,
I would definitely definitely consider it.There is something. There's something about
being able to draft face to facewith all these people that you draft all
summer with online and tell them howwrong they are to their face. It's
(52:42):
just it's it's a treat. Sodefinitely encourage everybody to come out and beat
the three of us. That's right, let's go, let's go. Ye
listen, it's it's the it's thebest ROI in the business out there too.
I mean, you don't have todo it go out there to get
the r o I. But it'salso top read people watching in the world.
Like you said, at Freemont Street, I got like, just uh,
(53:05):
the sights that I saw. I'mjust standing out there late at night
for an hour just watching all ofthe man concerts going on at one and
the more it's just bananas three orfour concerts, the more lockdowns. Yeah,
and it's do I want classic rock? No, I'm feeling country music.
Well that's what steps down that way. So so good, But all
right, boys, well listen.Robbie, thanks so much for joining us.
Man that this was excellent talking toyou again. Congratulations on your successful
(53:30):
season so far, the ro oI, the advance rate, excellent stuff.
Jack again, Tanking next for joiningme, and we will see you.
Uh, we'll see you next weekand we'll break break down week two
or the fantasy playoffs. We'll seeyou guys. Thanks guys,
