It looks like tomorrow. So you've got me solo for
the next hour and a half or so. Big question

the next Daniel Jones is the next Baker Mayfield is
the next Sam Darnold eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero. As it was announced just moments
ago earlier, this afternoon officially that Jameis Winston will be
getting the start for the New York Giants. That's right.

The world keeps spinning in East Rutherford up there as
this Giants team coming off the dismissal of their head coach,
Brian Dable. This team has blown a number of leads
over the course of this season. Now they're leaning on
not only one of the more entertaining backup quarterbacks in
this entire league. Let's face it, off the field, behind

the microphone, the guy is golden. But even on the field,
you just don't know what you're going to get. And
that brings so much excitement to me as a neutral observer.
Now as a fan, I don't know, there's a bit
of an up and down factor there. But there will
be one of these guys, and we touched on this
a little bit yesterday. One of these guys, whether it's Jamis,

whether it could be maybe Anthony Richardson, it's a good
candidate for this, Maybe it's Gardner Minshew as we talked about,
that could revive their careers elsewhere in a starting capacity.
I don't know if that inventory is as promising right
now as it has been in the past. I know
Carson Wentz tried it this year. It wasn't exactly great.

Do we think Russell Wilson has anything left in the tank?
I don't. I don't get the sense that he does,
but it's something worth mentioning. We're going to preview some
of the games coming up in week eleven in the NFL,
burning questions around the National Football League as it pertains
to each of these matchups, and boy, there are some
juicy matchups this weekend, even tomorrow night's game with the

Jets and Patriots. You've got to rejuvenized Jets team that
you know, the head coach Aaron Glenn has been talking
trash with reporters. They've got obviously a lot of players
that have been siphoned off and in the trade market,
but they've gotten themselves back on the winning track to
a certain degree. And then you got Drake May coming

in nineteen tuties five interceptions. Should be entertaining to watch
that game, although it looks like Gared Wilson fantasy owners
out there, looks like he's not going to play in
this game. And then a host of other games. I
think it's four games total this weekend. A team's above
five hundred facing off with one another, and of course
one of the headline games as Buccaneers Bills and then

the four o'clock windows. We talk with our buddy Chiefs
Jay about it every single week Chiefs and Broncos, A
big time game for both teams where the Chiefs are
coming off of course they're bye week and a chance
to take aim at a team that right now leads
them by three games in the win column in that
Western Division in the AFC two to four zero five

what's you feeling after they win?

I mean, you know, I hate to call the games.
I know you touchdown it yesterday. My nephew was listening
there and hurt a little bit, you know, So I
hate to call now to make you, you know, reiterate everything.
But I feel I feel good, man, I love I
love defensive games like that. Last year, I told you guys,
a lot of people were complaining the Super Bowl was

kind of boring. But you know, defensive games like that
I get excited about. And you know, Green Bay has
they got a solid defense. Man, the Eagles, they got
a solid defense. I just feel like offensively, it was
you know, it was this news fans. Both teams were
kind of playing tight, and I wanted to make a
crucial mistake. And I don't know, man, I feel good though,

you know, I feel good. The Eagles are at number one.
See right now, you got a couple of tie breakers.
They could possibly be making a tie breaker against the
Lions on Sunday night.

Oh man.

So I just I feel like, you know, everything's right there.
You know, everything's right there. A little a couple of things, Sirianni,
A couple questionable calls that I don't agree with. A J.
Brown at the end of the game, I felt like
he didn't really put much effort, yeah, to try to
get that ball. I felt like he could have got
a penalty maybe or maybe even made the catch and

that the game right there, which was the whole point
of going for it. But I mean, other than that,
I feel like it was a solid game.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
What do you make it? Just so quickly on the
play was the fourth down play where they're you know,
just near midfield basically and they decide to air it out.
Do you do you feel that that was something that
they did off script without Sirianni? Do you think that
ball was supposed to be snapped? Because if the ball
was in the air, I was surprised. And then the

effort from Brown if it's indeed something they're on the
same page with, like, look, we're going we're going off
script here, Bud to make a better effort than that
with the ball in the air.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Well, that's the thing, John, It's kind of it's speculation
at this point, but there's the thing where Sirianni gets
shown on the sideline going why why why, Like you know,
he's questioning, like what's up with that? There's the effort,
you know, there's a little there's a little thing going around,
a little post going around. I don't know if it's
official or just something somebody made up where you know,

it's like Jalen and aj went rolled. They might have
caught an audible because really you were just you just
needed a first down. You didn't need to go for
the touchdown. Even if you threw it down to the
goal line, it's not like the ball starts right there.
So they were really trying to just score, I feel like,
which makes it questionable. So I don't know, I really
don't know. It's kind of hard to tell. But they

did audible lot of it and make a different cause.

I think it's been overinflated this story. I mean, look,
this is part of the problem with the national media.
They've got a fill time and obviously you've got a
lot of people in those seats that really don't know
football as well as they should. And so there's this
narrative that goes all week long about well, what's wrong
with the Eagles Again, what's wrong with them? They've been
winners of three straight football games, folks, And look, they

had the little stumble there with the Broncos. The Giants
got the best of them a few weeks back. But
you beat the Vikings, you pummel the Giants, and then
you absolutely throttle the Packers offense. That's a whole other
story that requires great attention and great balance when talking
about the Packers issues. But you hold anybody the seven
points in this league. That's a success story. That's a

big time moment, and that's something we should be, you know,
tipping a hat to the entire staff, including Vic Fangio
for and not spending all week talking about, oh, well,
what's wrong with aj Brown? Who cares? They'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Well, John, you know you need you just need one
point to win a game. Yeah, you know, you just
need one point to win a game. And at the
end of the day, they've been blowing up like Sirianni
has like fifty five wins. Uh, they're talking about his
win percentage as a coach. None of those fifty five
wins on on the little post that they may say

(09:11):
the score of every game, of all those fifty five games,
but he has fifty five w's and at the end
of the day, you know that that's what you're after.
So it was it was a great game. I feel
it was two great defenses. It was good to see
Jalen Phillips, the impact he had, the stuff going.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
On with that. Ye how he's done it again. I mean,
would you know it didn't work? You're Alexander, that's a
tough deal here, he's a local guy from Charlotte. He's
dealing with some stuff. But man, they hit all run
with the Phillips, the kid from Miami that he just
looks so ready to be part of this defense man

(09:49):
and that defense.

You know, that's a nice young nucleus and I think,
you know, hopefully how we can figure it out. We
signed and keep him there because it seems like he's
supposed to be there, and you know, that's a part
of the coach of that they built. So you know,
it's good to see players come to the team. Man.
You know, I go out for Alexander because I feel
like that was gonna be a nice pick up of
Dorrie Jackson. He's horrible. I don't know why he's still playing,

(10:11):
but you know, it's sad to see things like that.
You want to obviously what happened with the Cowboys player.
You want to make sure that that a player like
that is right in the head. You know, everything's good
with him, and that's what's most important. The game is
just the game. But I feel like that was a
good move. The defense is looking you know, it's looking
like it's turning the corner. Carter's looking good. Davis was

(10:33):
playing phenomenal this year. He lost weight. Everything's good on
the offenses on the defensive side, but the offense, you know,
struggled a little bit. Again. I feel like they got
away from a lot of the things that have been
working the past two games, which is kind of crazy.
You got two weeks to sit around and game play
and you know, here you come out and look at
a sink again. But credit to the Green Bay defense

(10:55):
that was That's the heck of a defense. I don't
think it's just that I don't feel like it said like, oh,
they played horrible. I think a lot of that has
to do with the defense. You know, they had a
lot of pressure. Jalen's was scrambling the first drive. They
were driving methadical long drive and then you know, just
a great play where he punched the ball out of
her hands. So you know, I'm not complaining about any

of that. I think they're gonna be all right. I'm
excited about Sunday. You know, we got to play the
Giants the Lions. Everybody was expecting that to be the
championship game. Last year. We didn't get it. Obviously, they
had a lot of injuries, so it's gonna be good
to see, you know where we say against a team
like that. And again, you know they came out and
only scored ten points against the Packer. This is a

whole new game. So you know, in this game they
might score thirty points, forty points to keep up. They
might you know, need seventeen to win the game. Every
game is different. But I'm excited to see what's gonna
happen Sunday night, because that's the heck of a team
over there. And again, if the Eagles win this game,
not only do they continue being the number one seed,
but now they'll have a tie breaker for later down

the row. You know, if the Lions and then end
up with the same schedule, they'll have a tie breaker
against them, as they have over the Packers, over the
vice games, and over the Buccaneers right now, which I
think is great standard to hopefully repeat.

Right, brother, enjoy the win being enjoy being seven and two.
It don't matter how it looks it is. See you, Bud,
there's Tony out there at the Upstate, Tony, big Eagles fan,
and it truly does not matter. It matters in so
much of the structure of what your offense is doing,
what your defense is doing, and those things do add up,
and sometimes those symptoms can creep up. They can lead

(12:42):
to bigger problems within the total picture of what your
team is doing in that year. But right now you're
seven and two. If you're an Eagles fan, you're four
games clear of your competition in the division, in the
win column. You've got that division wrapped up, and now
you can focus your attention. If you're Philadelphia on the
stretch ahead, and it starts with a great matchup this weekend.

(13:04):
As Tony alluded to on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions,
it doesn't matter. If you have one ass, cheek and
three tones, I will beat you out. Dan, Dan's gonna
be Dan's gonna be worked out for that game. I
wonder if Dan's gonna call plays again. He had to
play sheet out against Washington. And we were talking with
Neil yesterday about the strategic nature perhaps ligning that up

(13:27):
properly in terms of, well, let's start calling plays right
now when I know I'm going against the Commander's defense,
it's totally cooked, totally washed. Let's make this the opportunity,
and certainly he put out a heck of a performance
as well as the team against the Commander's team. That
is just ah. Man, They're lost. They're three and seven
right now. Their defense is given up nearly three hundred

(13:50):
points this season, and they look like a defense that
should be given up three hundred points. They've got a
lot of old people on that team relative to the
rest of the league, and those kind of things do
show up over the course of a season. So we're
gonna see what happens. We'll take a closer look at
the rest of the National Football League as we roll
on through this show, and we're gonna see if the
Bills can bounce back this week. They've got a huge

(14:12):
matchup against Tampa. Josh Allen had an interception lost to
fumble in that loss thirty to thirteen against Miami last week,
and all of a sudden, they're sitting there at six
and three, and there's some question marks about the viability
of what they can do. And honestly, you know, people
have been talking about this a little bit that the

(14:34):
lack of explosion they have at the receiver position. You know,
they got some good tight ends. Reminds me a little bit.
I go back to the middle part of the twenty
tens when Cam Newton was leading the Panthers to playoff
wins and Super Bowl relevance, and he was the MVP
of the league, and there was nothing of real consequence
on the outside to threaten the defense. But you had

(14:56):
Greg Olsen inside. At some point, you had McCaffrey coming
the fold, and he was a great option rop receiver
that you could split into the slot, out wide or inside.
But never was there this you know, s tier receiver
that a guy like Josh Allen truly deserves. And you
know Stefan Diggs once upon a time provided that, but
there was some bad chemistry and I would put that

(15:18):
Bron Diggs that I would on Josh Allen. But right now,
there's just not a whole lot to throw to out there. But,
like I said, some big old matchups. So we'll take
a look at all those matchups and I'll give you
some burning questions I have for each of these teams
going into Week eleven. Man, is it week eleven already?

Which one of the backup quarterbacks around the NFL right
now can pull a Baker Mayfield could pull off. Let's
say a well, you know, like a Sam Darnold type
of story. Maybe it's Mac Jones. Maybe he's the guy.
There's something about him I don't totally trust outside of
the confines of what Shanahan can do for him in

(16:00):
San Francisco. And I think there have been some cracks
in the armor there at times with how he plays.
But maybe he is the guy that when he does
get a contract gear up, maybe he graduates on somewhere
else and can be that guy. Are they all washed
up right now? Are there? Is there anybody? I mean?
I look at like Philly's back up, one of their backups,
Tanner McKee, as a guy that I've seen play a

(16:21):
little bit. I should have asked Tony about Tanner McKee,
but the times Tanner has been in there, he looks
like somebody who could take the reins and be a starter.
We thought that potentially about Cooper Rush, who was the
Dallas backup for a while. It had some good moments
as a backup quarterback filling in for Dak Prescott, and
when he arrived in Baltimore it looked terrible. So be

(16:44):
thinking about that throughout the show and call us at
two four zero fifty fort he said, justin fields, is it,
Trey Lance? Is there's somebody hidden out there in the
weeds that you could see getting a second chance, getting
a mulligan and making the best of it as a
starter in the National Football League. Maybe Trubisky. That's another
guy that say what you want about him, but he's
been to the playoffs as a quarterback. He had some

pretty good moments early in his tenure with the Bears.
Just something to think about today as we are talking
football all day long, burning questions around the NFL and

the college football playoff ranking. We'll go through those here
and no huge surprises, but a lot of the NRAVE

continues to be around the ACC and what's going to
happen when that dust settles, and where will Miami fall
in all this? And should Texas Tech have been ranked higher.
Maybe Texas A and M should have been ranked a
little higher than they were, but nonetheless they are where
they are the rankings around and will give you an
idea of what the matchups would look like if they

started today. Of course they do not, but it's always
fun to project what's going to happen here in the
world of college football, in the world of the NFL,
and so much more as we're diving into it with
you for the next hour or so. Here's a stat
here he told you earlier. The breaking news of the
day in the NFL, among others, is that Jameis Winston
is a starting quarterback again. Oh yeah, So this is

from Bobby Skinner, who does a great job covering the
New York Giants. Giants quarterbacks since Eli Manning was benched
in twenty nineteen. All right, strap up and get ready
for this list. It's a long one. Daniel Jones, Eli Manning,
Daniel Jones again, Colt McCoy back to Daniel Jones, Colt McCoy,

Daniel Jones. These are in sequential order of injuries substitutions.
Then we talk about one of the longest necks in football.
Mike Glennon started three times, and then Jake From got
a start. Mike Glennon once again got himself a start,
Jake From again, it's amazing. And then Danny Dimes got
sixteen starts, Davis Webb got in the mix for a start,

Daniel Jones again, then Tyrod Taylor, and then Daniel Jones
again for a game, and then Tommy DeVito, Oh remember
Tommy Cuttler's got six starts. And then Tyrod Taylor was
back in for two games, and then Indiana Jones was
back in for ten games. Divito got back in. Hey,
there's Drew Locke. There's an appearance from Drew lock for

Now it's Jameis Winston time. Yeah, that's a lot of
activity since twenty nineteen. And again it was in a
sequential order there in terms of you know how this
all has gone, and you look at the inconsistency at

that position. A lot of it's injury. The reason that
Jameis Winston, by the way, is starting this week is
because Jackson Dart and it's no laughing matter, but he's
back in concussion protocol and it seems to be a
problem that has plagued this team, not only from his end,
but you know, Scataboo's been through it, other players have
been through it. It's unfortunate. The MVP conversation. Here are

(24:41):
the current odds right now plus three hundred Drake May
plus three hundred, Matt Stafford plus five hundred Jonathan Taylor
plus six hundred Pat Mahomes. Who's your MVP right now?
Two four zero five four eight zero. Max Chadwick, who
I mentioned earlier, updated us on some of the betting
favorites for every P four opening in college football. Here's

what Vegas has right now for the potential favorites for
each of these vacancies. LSU Lane Kiffen, Florida Lane Kiffen,
Penn State, Eli Drinkwitz, Auburd, John Summer all the two
lane head coach who has some Alabama roots, Virginia Tech
James Franklin, and that seems to make sense. Arkansas John Gruden.

(25:27):
I could absolutely see that Oklahoma State would be Zach Robinson,
who is the offensive coordinator right now. The Atlanta Falcons UCLA.
The betting favorite right now is Tommy Reese, who is
the Browns offensive coordinator. And with Stanford it's Frank Reich,
believe it or not, who has, you know, for all
measures sort of come in and stabilize things. Nobody was

(25:48):
expecting Stanford to do a whole lot this year. They
haven't done a whole lot this year, but they've been
competitive and they've stayed in the mix. More on the
Giants here. Here's the list of head coach interviews from
the last four coaching cycles. Okay, let's give you an
idea of who the Giants have leaned on to potentially

(26:10):
be their head coach. Twenty twenty two. The guys that
interviewed Brian Dabole, lou Ana Rumo, Brian Floores, Leslie Frasier,
Dan Quinn, Patrick Graham. All Right, one of those coaches
got the job. That was Daboll. The rest mixed bag
of results so far. Quinn's done a nice job in Washington.
Tough year this year. Twenty twenty, they interviewed Joe Judge,

(26:35):
Eric b Enemy Wink Martindale who's now in Michigan, Mike McCarthy,
Matt Ruhle, h and Chris Rashard Judge got the job.
The rest of them are now either back in college
or their position coaches or coordinators. Twenty eighteen, they interviewed
Pat Shermer, Josh McDaniels, Matt Patricia, Steve Spagnulo, and Steve Wilkes,

(26:58):
and they settled on Shermer. Twenty sixteen, they interviewed Ben McAdoo,
Tarah Austin, Adam Gase, Doug Moron, Mike Smith, and Steve
speG Nolo. They really want Spags back in the business,
don't they. But they ended up going with at the time,
Ben McAdoo, who had just not a lot of great success.
Here are the coaches that have been hired elsewhere since

twenty sixteen, and that's of course, when Tom Coffin was dismissed,
Mike Vrabel, Sean McDermott, Tamiko Ryans, Sean Payton, Jim Harbaugh,
Nick Sirianni, Dan Campbell, Ben Johnson, Matt Lafleur, Kevin O'Connell,
Todd Bowles, Mike McDonald, Kyle Shanahan, and Sean mcvagh. Oh, yeah,

(27:48):
that's what drives Giants fans that I talked to nuts
the fact that not only have they been inconsistent on
the field, but they have set themselves up for failure
year after year with their inability to nail down the
right candidate and just go on and get it done.
And it's wild how it continues. But now they've got

(28:11):
a clean slate. Mike Kafka takes over. He was the
offensive coordinator, although day Ball was the primary play caller
for the majority of his time there. Kafka will take over.
He will call plays and will continue to monitor. I
look at the possibilities with this job. I don't think
it's Lane Kiffen. I don't think it's John Ruden. I
don't think it's Bill Belichick. They are Giants fans I

(28:33):
talk to that are just there were hell been a
couple of years ago that they should have gone after
Belichick back around twenty twenty two instead of settling for
Brian Dabole. And now there's Bills fans begging for day
Ball to come back because Joe Brady, who was the
toast of the town a few weeks ago, the offense
has suddenly fallen on harder times and Bills fans are like, hey,

day Ball was great here with Josh Allen, let's have
a little reunion. It's not that easy. A certain thing
called contracts with these coordinators, and I don't know if
you're gonna be able to get out of that one
with as much ease as you would like to do.
College football, we talked about the college football playoff rankings here.
I'll give you an idea of what those look like

coming up in the next break here. And not too
many surprises overall when you look at what happened there,
not too many at all. I mean a couple things
you can sort of look at and say, I've done
this differently that differently. But like the guys who were
talking about last night in the reveal show, and I
love the music. I love how slowly they announced the

Oh man, there's a big work up to each announcement.
Those will become more fascinating over the next few weeks.
And I think it was Joey Galloway or maybe Booger
McFarlane that brought it up that we talk about this
every year after the second week of the rankings come out,
