Speaker 1 (00:22):
Act for sure stadium do they even nickname for the
stadium in Hinesville. It's the unhappy hour here on. It
took jay Z seven years to become an overnight sensation.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I mean opponents are running through them like skyline chill.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Why are you?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I don't understand this, Edmunds Tinkle tackle.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
This is actually going over the air.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
It is.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I love to wait a two minutes doing that, Clark

Did we peek early put it in the flub file? Probably?
Are we still coasting on it? I've seen it a
couple of times.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
Absolutely, and yes, it's all black, gold and processed blue
as far as the eye can see.
Speaker 7 (01:15):
You know, I'm winning Rome.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
He's going to be Roman.
Speaker 6 (01:17):
Call us, let's fight about it. It's they're all call
two four zero fifty four eight day. Now here's John
Ellis and Trey Polly Walnuts Falco.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Yeah, manby Old Man's back together today. We need to
save some of the fun we're having off the air
for you guys. How you doing. It's John Ellis, There's Trey,
Paully Wallace, Tlcolm. It is Game All live from the
Ingle Studios downtown Greenville. It's not Monday, it's not Tuesday,
nor is it Wednesday. It is a football Thursday. Yes, oh, yes,
(01:48):
that means it's Pickham Day here. Oh yeah, in the NFL.
I'm breaking news. Got a text about twenty minutes ago
from a special guest to tell can I come by
the studio and make some picks with y'all?
Speaker 8 (02:02):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I know who that is?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Chad the Bending Machine King. I've got the human cheek
code coming in.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
He's going to come on in and make some picks
with us here y'all, and you guys can join the
party as well. Eight six four two four zero five
four eight zero coming up in about forty minutes on
Another entertainer, Joe Dolan is gonna stop by from Fantasy
Points dot Com. Joe Dolan, who does a great job
operating that great megasite.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Uh, that gives you all the fantasy football insight you
need throughout the year. Is gonna stop by here in
just about thirty thirty five, maybe forty minutes or so,
depending on how this hour goes, and we'll bring him
into the Eagles hotline and have a conversation with him
as we're monitoring all the injuries right now in the NFL.
Lamar Jackson's back at practice today as uh, you know,
(02:49):
Trey Pawley Wannat's FONNCLE back with us here. Oh yeah,
we're in the Steelers hoooting, yes, feeling feeling good still.
I guess a little bit about your Steelers. But all this,
here come the Ravens, here comes Joe Burrow back practicing it.
Just it feels inevitable.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Man, It's uh, I'm used to it.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
So can we get those T shirts printed out for
both of us? Yeah, I'm used to it. Panthers have
a big game this weekend. They're on the road against Atlanta.
We'll make all of our picks coming up later in
the show. A big question of the day brought to
you by our brands Mingles Markets. If you could take
one job in sports, trade it in uh and be
that for what you're doing right now in your career,
(03:28):
what would it be? Pick one job in sports right now.
It doesn't matter how good or bad you'd be at it.
One job in sports. You could be a quarterback, you
could be a half patch, you could be a coach,
you could be one of us. What would it be?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Your quarterback and half back?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Your dream job in sports?
Speaker 7 (03:46):
Two?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Four zero five four eight zero? What would you want
to do?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Like Patrick Mahomes, backup quarterback, best job in the world.
Speaker 9 (03:54):
I'm guaranteed to ring just about he rarely goes down barely.
And it doesn't matter who the backup is, they're probably gonna.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Hate him anyway. So it doesn't matter how I play,
because they're not my homes.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Anybody, uh, anybody would love that job. I would. I
would take being the backup for the joker right down
in the NBA, because you know, it looks you know,
we've got the body type down. He dropped fifty five
last night.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Dude, He's so good.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
He's amazing, so is Wemby. I mean, it's we're getting
to the NBA starting to heat up here. You got a
couple of rookies for the Hornets that are playing out
of their mind right now. Conk Nipple from Duke and
then Caulkin Brinner who they drafted in the second round.
Hornets are an exciting little rebuild right now as we're
getting into it. But uh, look here we go. I mean, look,
(04:45):
it's Jamis Winston season.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Baby, Yes it is.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
There is nothing finer than having Jameis Winston back on
the field as when we make our pick. So I'll
go ahead tell you right now, I'm already picking the Giants.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Ye spoiler alert, breaking news. It's hard not to.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
It's Jamis. He's so much fun to watch play.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
He's fun to watch play, and it's it's the commentary,
it's everything he does on top of the commentary, and
even when the play is bad, you're gonna get great
talking points from him throughout the week. Usually that first
game when he comes back, there's a spark. We saw
it last year in the snow Globe game where it
(05:29):
was about this time last year, where he's coming out
it's snowing, he's mesmerized. He's like a kid in a
candy store.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
In his kJ Watt's career, he did.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
It's the the Cam Newton Alliance. Yeah, Cam Newton Camden's
career was killed by by mister Watt. So cam and
Jamis being acquaintance this probably got together and say please
him anything Jamis in his career, and last year they did.
I think we've got some audio of Jamis Winston who
hit the podium yesterday to to to announce that he's
(06:02):
going to be the quarterback this week. And and here
well here here it is. I'm on fans and know
that I'm going to do my best.
Speaker 10 (06:08):
You know, obviously I'm going to have fun, but I'm
going to execute, have a surgical execution. Uh, and just
and just play ball, man, Like this is something I've
been doing since I've been four years old, and I
just get to do it in the greatest city in
the world. I'm gonna be saying to what my son,
what's the greatest city in the world. That's that's a
Hamilton reference. If y'all don't know T year reunion.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's so great, it's perfect, it's perfect. Oh, here's the
Chiefs jd him in and on the text line, any
job in sports, he would like sports agent, specifically Pat
Mahomes agent, way more money than backups and never gets
hit by Max Crosby.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Okay, that's a that's fair, but it is part There's.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Part of me too that wants to be on the
field like I would love to. You know, I tried
for years to convince myself as a teenager I'm going
to be a pro golfer one day, and I have
talked about that many times on the show. How clearly
as you hear me on the radio right now, that
is not the case. I'm not out in Bermuda playing
right now on the PGA door. I'm sitting here talking
noodle Mike. I think coaching would be something I would
(07:16):
have loved to have done. I mean, you know, I'm
sort of a film nerd. I No, there's a clip
I need to find of Mike francessa who is a
longtime New York radio host, and I looked for it
during the break. I have no illusions that I could
do that job. You know, I fancy myself a film buff.
I know football to a certain extent. I would walk
(07:40):
into a high school right now and they'd say out, no,
you're not qualified to be a head coach. But if
I took a year or two and just applied myself
to all of it, the schematics, some of the fundamentals.
I think I could step into an entry level position
and work my way up as like a oldest grad
assistant ever, and then one day be that that kind
(08:01):
of grind really intrigues me. But yes, sports Age, it
would be great. Like he's just sitting there collecting Pat
Mahomes's money.
Speaker 9 (08:09):
Just put me on the sideline, put the tablet in
my hand. I'm not doing a damn thing but playing
Candy Crush and just let Pat Mahomes cook.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Well, did you see the memes from the game the
other night were Matt Lafloor. That's funny you said that
that lerfloor.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
He wasn't playing Solitaire, was he?
Speaker 1 (08:27):
No, he was not. He Uh. He came over to
the came over to the sort of the they've got
like the heater set up and all that the bench levels.
The game is going on, and he's sitting there. I
find a picture in a minute. But he's got his
Microsoft Service tablet laid down on one of the tables
and he's just sitting there, kind of leaned over and
just scrolling. Packers fans. Packers fans are making photoshops of it,
(08:51):
like he's playing candy, crush Fruit and Ninja. Remember that game?
Oh man, oh yeah, or whatever the game was called.
We used to love that game. Angry Birds. Remember those
early all those early apps on old heads. All right,
I've got this clip I'm gonna send you here. This
is Mike Francissa, a longtime radio legend in uh New York.
(09:13):
And you know, look, I don't necessarily think that he's
truly believes what he's going to be saying in this clip,
but this is from the account Funhouse. Funhouse does a
great job lampooning a lot of bad sports talk takes
out there, and hopefully one day we have enough prominence
to where Funhouse will say, trying to trade you guys
are garbage. Yeah, let's play these guys. Let's set this
(09:36):
up for you. Mike francessa longtime sports talk host, explains
why he never coached in the NFL other than the
fact that he's not qualified to coach in the NFL.
Here's a real conversation he had with a caller Mike
in Manhattan. What's up, Mike, Yeah, Mike, thanks for technical Yeah,
what's happening?
Speaker 8 (09:56):
I was wondering, if you know so much about sports,
how can you know he became like a head coach
or something.
Speaker 11 (10:03):
Why didn't I become a head coach? I mean, I
don't know. Wound up being a broadcaster. I really didn't.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
I really didn't.
Speaker 11 (10:12):
I never really had a chance or gotten to that
end of the business. Thought about it a few times,
but that's a long time ago. But you know I
had to, you know, to break it in those days,
was very hard. Almost went into it once, almost went once, nineteen,
Almost went into the team once.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
But yeah, I can't remember. Let me see.
Speaker 11 (10:38):
Early nineties, ninety one, ninety two, ninety two, ninety three,
right around there. Well, you know, we had taken off,
had an opportunity to go, uh into the NFL, and didn't.
That was the only chance I had to go in
and didn't go. And when I take a pay cut
to go, which was hard to do at that time,
that was a big part of it, to be honest
(11:00):
with you, because you know, Michael Amado had kind of
taken off and would take a paycock to do it
to take the job I was offered. But it was
I mean, if I had done it, I think I
would have done well in the NFL. But I don't
think you know what, at the time, I decided to
stay here. And that's a long time ago.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
So Mike, who basically I love Princess Love. He's a
legend in our business, but he's oftentimes been called like cosplay,
parcels like.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
It sounded like cosplay. Mike McDaniel right there.
Speaker 12 (11:29):
With, uh, well yeah, I got off of uh, you
know something in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Know you didn't what?
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I was in the team with the team.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Offered what And now the funhouse account after Brian Table
got fan they're saying, do it Giants? Do it? Yes,
make it happen? Why the hell not? Who will be
the next coach of the Giants. That's a big question
we can ponder as well today. Jackson Dart obviously will
remain the quarterback moving forward. I was talking about this
(12:02):
the other day. A lot of Giants fans that I've
heard on sort of the New York radio circuit and
some of the national shows still lament the fact that
they never really pursued Belichick that heavily because Belichick was
removed to have wanted to come back home to New
Jersey and tried again. But the big one that got away,
I mean it's Mike Rabel. I mean to me, that's
a guy that would have been perfect for what they're
(12:24):
trying to do. Now they get the.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Youngest uarterbacking the Patriots right now.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Absolutely, That's one of those things you look at and
you say, you know, if timing had worked out better, maybe,
But the Giants have seemed quite content over the past
ten years since since sorry saw funny meme, Since Giants
have been quite content since Tom Coughlin left. Just going
(12:49):
through the motions with the same type of stuff, which
is a round of offensive coordinator types that's been New
York thing. It must be a New York thing. And
the Jets have been much less prolific, and the fact
that they have not been to the playoffs and what
fifteen years or so. I have a higher degree of
confidence in Aaron Glenn right now than maybe I would
(13:12):
have before the season started. Get ready for a ride.
I love how he's handling the media up there. I
love he's been calling out reporters. Yep, he's been calling
out his team. He's got these guys playing hard. But
it's been a rough go this year for the New
York sports market. I have loved the camps scataboo AI stuff.
Did you wait one more clip? We'll pull this up.
Speaker 9 (13:36):
I think I know what you're about to break. Got
to send me this is what I was laughing at.
By the way, the suddle, it just randomly hit my timeline.
Uh yeah, I'm gonna send it to you the break.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
We'll come back and we give you some cam scataboo
audio actual audio camp Scataboo where somebody on a livestream
asked him something about tacos. There you go. We've got
Joe Dolan coming up in about thirty minutes to talk
some fantasy football in NFL with us here. He's from
Fantasy points dot Com and Chad the Venning Machine geam
(14:09):
rumor has it he's heading up to the building right now,
so we'll get chat on in here. We're gonna make
our weekly picks for week eleven in the NFL, some
big matchups, some big games coming up this weekend. It's John,
It's Trey, It's game on. We're back after this.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
This is Game on on one O four nine Fox
Sports up Stand. Get in on the show, A two
four on Twitter at four nine Fox Sports.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
I won't nation Broyhill.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Yes, you just got bad today while boys that had
been away heaven't change had much to see.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
But then I still think them castle Quin.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
They were asking if you were around, how you lose
where you could be found?
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Told them you would live.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
A downtown dropping all the old men clins.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
It's football Thursday, man. We're getting you ready for a
big start to your weekend.
Speaker 8 (15:29):
Here.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
It's got some huge college football coming away this weekend.
And of course it all starts tonight in the NFL.
Is a game that has some intrigue. Gets the Jets right,
Aaron Blennon Company gonna be buckling up that seat belt,
getting ready for the ride. Put your seatbelts on and
get ready for the ride taking on the Patriots tonight.
And this is in New England, eight fifteen, Amazon Prime.
(15:52):
Al Michaels who just had a birthday yesterday, al Michael's birthday.
Al Michaels will be eating that steak and hopefully that
damn dog, herb streech dog doesn't eat my stake tonight.
That's coming up on Prime Video tonight, eight fifteen, the
eight and two Patriots. This is a stumbling block game.
Could it be? This has been a wild year yet? Has.
(16:14):
I was doing some Panthers content earlier today during the
course of my preparation for the show and talking to
a couple of guys around the league, and we have
come to the conclusion, I think you and I have
talked about this too, that this has been one of
the most Jekyll and Hide seasons. Absolutely. Remember, nothing has
gone truly as plan to the point where we're in
(16:36):
mid November and I still think that we're going to
see Kansas City in the playoff picture I could sit
at Yeah, but they've got a hell of a test
this weekend against Denver. Yeah, on the road. They lose
that game, there's suddenly four games back in the win
column in that division, and you've got a competitive bunch
of teams that are real hunger right now, like the Texans,
(16:58):
the Jags, the Chargers that are light and for those
last couple of playoff spots. This is a huge game
for Kansas City in a lot of ways this weekend.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, it really is.
Speaker 9 (17:06):
And it's a weird year too, because like there's a
few good teams like but there there aren't, Like there's
not one team that I look at.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
And go, oh yeah, all right, those are the front runners.
Those are the guys.
Speaker 9 (17:17):
Like part of me is like, okay, maybe the Rams,
But at the same time I'm looking at it, I'm like, okay,
but it's Stafford.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
He's older.
Speaker 9 (17:24):
Like, does he have sort of a coming back to
Earth moment?
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah, because he's he's been playing lights out.
Speaker 9 (17:31):
I even look at like a Sam Darnold there in
like Seattle, and I'm like, but but there's nobody that
I look at and go, well, they're just gonna run
away with it. There's too many teams and too many
weird just especially at the beginning. You remember at the
beginning of the season with all the blocked field.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Goals, all of it. It's been a weird season. And
the injuries too, well, yeah that too. You look at
the playoff teams that are on the outside looking in
by a mile right now, Cincinnati, there's no question there.
Chances were derailed early on when Burrow got hurt. Oh yeah,
they start fast, but Burrow gets hurt. That's been the
name of the game for them. You look at Washington. Yeah,
(18:05):
we sat here and talked about and I heard Dan
Patrick today talking with Chris Simms about this on his
show on the station. Dan brought up the fact that
we have these short term memories, and like Jaden Daniels,
for instance, we were talking about this guy as possibly
having the best rookie season by a quarterback ever. Last
year he gets hurt and now all of a sudden,
it's like, damn, you know, were three and seven. He's
(18:28):
not playing, and it's all of a sudden, now it's Drake May.
Drake May is the best rookie of that class. It's
been a crazy year not to mention like Dallas is
a prime example of a team that is just so
Jekyll and Hyde within the confines of their own structure. Yeah,
they've done everything this year except put together winning football,
good offense, a lot of points, getting a lot of glory,
(18:49):
winning a lot of trades.
Speaker 12 (18:51):
Oil and gas is up. I'm all in on money
and profit and not defense.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Not so much. Although to move forward, every division you
look at has intrigued Hunter.
Speaker 9 (19:05):
Bruce chimed in on the text line, said, Jameis Winston
starts this week four touchdowns, four interceptions which two pick
six is four hundred yards, one pregame speech.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
And one prayer slash sing along which we've already hit.
The sing along. He's already doing Hamilton.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Hambleton the sing along. You could already check that one
off your checklist. He's already accomplished one of the four
metrics this week. Hunter, I also think those metrics could happen.
But here's what I see. I see a grand debut,
three tutties, no interceptions, like three hundred and fifty five
(19:40):
yards passing. Yeah, and then the next week the four
pick game. They're right right, like one touchdown, four picks,
and then the next week after that will be the
game Hunter's talking about. Yeah, three tutties, three pick sixes.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
I thought he was delivered from the pick sixes though.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Yeah, he seemed to have hinted to that last year,
delivered Lord, I think it was. I think it was Lord,
just deliver.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Me, Lord, to deliver me for these big sixes.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Now I'm gonna find that one jamis delivered me. Well, James, Oh,
I found it. Okay, that was last day.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
I believe this is a real quote.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
It was last December. Yeah. Do you have the scataboo
audio cam scataboo who you're way? So, yeah, he is.
There's there's a real fine line these days between figuring
out what's real and what's not on social media. Some
are easier to detect than others. This is real. This
is Cam Scataboo on a livestream playing video games.
Speaker 13 (20:50):
Do you like turn your head to eat a taco
or do you turn the taco for you?
Speaker 14 (20:57):
Like?
Speaker 13 (20:57):
Are you dominant to the taco or to the taco?
Like do you turn your head for the taco. It's
about the dominance of the taco though, like if you're not,
if you're turning the taco, you're dominating the taco.
Speaker 9 (21:17):
My favorite is his face because he like when he
when he gets about halfway through, you can see he's
got the smirk on him like, yeah, yeah, I got you,
I got you.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
But think about it this I mean, play it again
one more time, Cam Cam's Kataboo. This is a great question,
like your head, y'all ask us the same thing and
we'll answer it as best we can, and we'll ask
you is what We'll all have a big taco con.
It's a taco Thursday. Cam'scataboo asking the question do you
submit to the taco and turn your head for it
(21:46):
or do you force the taco into submission and eat it?
Go ahead, Kim's katabo.
Speaker 13 (21:53):
Do you like turn your head to eat a taco
or do you turn the taco for you? Are you
dominant to the taco or to the taco? Like, do
you turn your head for the taco?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
The pause, he's waiting.
Speaker 13 (22:10):
It's about the dominance of the taco, though, like if
you're not, if you're turning the taco, you're dominating the taco.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
You're dominating the taco.
Speaker 9 (22:21):
I'm also dominating my cleaning bill because I gotta clean
it spills out the contents.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
So you're telling me, how how do you eat a tacos?
Speaker 2 (22:28):
I've never thought of that.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
No, I guess it's I guess I'm the next time
I eat a taco, which, by the way, we had
Mexican last night at the house.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I'm trying to remember how I yea.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Submit the Taco's always this cam.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Seems like the type that he would turn that taco.
It would dump out. He'd be confused because he made
a mess.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Welcome to the Taco Hut. How can we take your order?
Speaker 8 (22:59):
I got.
Speaker 9 (23:02):
Milder medium, We're faster.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Stupid camp scatter, who's so funny. He's so funny. I
saw a video lesson.
Speaker 8 (23:18):
This.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
What's this awful app Sora?
Speaker 9 (23:21):
Oh yeah, yeah where it makes AI videos could but
it's still off.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Were like, yeah, yeah, the jerseys it's it says like
forty four, but the fours are backwards. Yeah. It's just
running into somebody's front door full speed and knocking it over.
It's like a ring camp. Yeah, it looks at it says,
I'm camp scuta.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
It could be real footage. I would It wouldn't surprise
it could be. It couldn't be real footage.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
It could could very well be. There. Also, let's leave
Brian Dable alone. There's well because I mean, look, the
four guys just got fired and then like the New
York Daily, New York, they're out side the front of
his house camping. Look at this picture of him, the
first ever he's farted snowing and he's look, he's got
(24:05):
on a Penn State hoody suppress.
Speaker 9 (24:08):
Is not the full Affleck meme where he's out with
the just out front of.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
His with the hater. I think we found the Jamis
Winston flip. This is Jameis Winston. Last year, UH prayed,
praying and and and pleading to the Lord above to
help him with these interceptions.
Speaker 7 (24:25):
I am I am, I am a bet I am
a better player, you know, but in times like this,
you know, that's it's it's the opportunity to continue to
go off out of the Lord, even through the toughest circumstances.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I know him better than this.
Speaker 7 (24:42):
I know. I'm like, I'm just praying for the Lord
to deliver me from pick sixes.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Like that's just that's not me.
Speaker 7 (24:49):
Like phenomenal game offense do some great things, but I
miss it up.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Awkward, awkward.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
He's low key got to be a comedian, Like there
there's he had to have written that, right, Like, there's
no way that was all legit.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
I think he's just freestyling. I think this stuff just flows.
Some people prepare their work. I watched a great documentary
earlier today about the life of Eddie Murphy. It's outstanding. Yeah,
it's on Netflix, and he talked about his creative process,
and look, I am never going to be at the
level of anybody relately or remotely related to Eddie Murphy
(25:28):
in terms of like talent or achievement. Right, But I'll
say this, I understand what he's saying about a process.
Some people go through a process of preparing for their
work like they're rowing a boat. Sure, others it is
very much like a sailboat. You get in and that's
Murphy's a lot.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Of hot area.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah, yeah, a lot, definitely lot of hot air. But
you just kind of just wherever the where the rhythm
takes it, it goes. I think that's where Jamis is. I
think Jamis gets in front of a mic. Chris Simms
talked about this earlier on Dan Patrick. You know, he
was talking about, Hey, he feels like early in James's
career there was some bad stuff coming out from Florida
State and he probably felt more reserved, more corporate, less
(26:10):
inclined to be a goofball.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Trying to get that professional.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
First round pick all that comes with that, and I
think finally after about five years, he's like, to hell
with it. Yeah, I'm ready to have some fun. I'm
gonna sign a veteran minimum backup deal. I'm gonna go
to New Orleans and then I'm gonna go off on
this tour to where the Cradlake store. Yeah, yeah, the
crad Lags store Cleveland. Maybe I'll go to New York.
Oh yeah, I will go to New York. Then yeah, absolutely,
(26:35):
he is a treasure. Coming up in about ten twelve
minutes or so, another one of our great friends, Joe Dolan,
stops by from Fantasy Points. He's gonna help us understand
all that's happening around the NFL. We'll ask him some
Steelers questions, get his take on Arthur Smith's offense, of course,
and twelve tight ends much much more. It's game on.
I'm John Ellis for back.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
After this game on with John Alice heard everywhere on
the iHeart rate you.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Wi bye.
Speaker 8 (27:12):
Bye.
Speaker 15 (27:16):
Now in the street there was violence and no.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
Lots sound weapons, no.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Washington, and then I can't.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Name on the South Oh no a round down to
shake a.
Speaker 15 (27:37):
High, Oh round down to shake Avenue.
Speaker 13 (27:44):
Man, I don't know High.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Having a good time here on this football Thursday. Good
to be with you. It's Johnny, Let's it's Tree, Pauline
Water Flaco and you guys are invited to the party.
Eight six four two four zero five four heads zero.
Big question of the day. If you could take one
job in sports, any job, what would it be? Two
four zero five four eight zero. Had a few texters
chime in on this. Jay chimed in earlier that he
(28:08):
would be Pat Mahomes agent. Not a bad choice. Yeah,
don't get your head clobbered in by Max Crosby.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Might take Kirk Cousins agent though. Oh we'll tell you something,
he makes some money.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
You got to get Luther Broughten back on this show
because he knows Kirk's agent. That's one Mike McCartney who
negotiates these cherry deals. Yeah. Yeah, man, No, that would
be a good job that has worked out really well
for all parties involved. I was thinking about this too,
Like the NFL schedule this week is so good, and
(28:40):
we're still going through this dispute right now with YouTube, TV, ESPN,
Disney all that stuff. So Monday Night Football it's not
looking good if you're a subscriber to that platform that
you're gonna be able to watch the Monday night game.
But the Monday night game sucks this week. I mean, honestly,
no offense to Brodie or Billy. You're any Cowboys fans,
but it's Cowboys at Raiders. Yeah, and this is what's
(29:02):
just about the schedule flexing process. You've got so many
good games that would be great as a standalone product
this weekend, right Tampa Bay at Buffalo is buried in
the one o'clock window. It'll be one of the many
red zone games. I'm sitting there frantically watching trying to
figure out who's gonna win. Other games, just like four
or five between teams with winning records. Chargers at Jags
(29:24):
is a big Seattle at the Rams Monster game, and
then of course the marquee matchup that many would assume.
Detroit at Philly is in primetime, but Kansas City at
Denver is in the four to twenty five windows. So
you're gonna get this what we would assume to be
this great wave of football on Sunday, and then the
(29:45):
Cowboys and the slop. Yeah, the Cowboys and then look
Gino Ashton Genty, Max Crosby and Brock Bowers and that's
literally all they have. Yeah, everything else is slop and
Pete Carroll looking increasingly like this might have been a
mistake to come back, but some of these other games
are outstanding. I'm just hoping like we get a trio
(30:06):
of primetime games this week that are marginally better than
the three trio to pick three slop like the garbage
that we were given last week. Three of the worst games.
How do the Raiders get back to back primetime games
they were last Thursday night? Now there you go.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
That's It's the only thing I could think of.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
It's ridiculous. Man. Oh I don't. I don't like it
at all. I don't. Some big college football games coming
up this weekend too, And that's where this YouTube teeth
fee thing is just hurting so many fans out there
because they can't get a look dollar credit.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
But I couldn't figure out where to go.
Speaker 8 (30:45):
Damn.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
I go to this and I was like, I don't
have that in my settings.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
I'm telling you, I have no idea how to get
the damn credit.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
I click on it several times and it takes me
to some other page. It's just all a mess.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Well, okay, that's a nice thought. I guess.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Here's a look at what's coming up in the top
twenty five this weekend. Emson is at Louisville coming up
tomorrow night game seven thirty Yeah, Friday night festival there
seven to thirty pm kickoff that is in Louisville, and
that's going to be an exciting game for them. They're
trying to keep pacing the college football playoff rankings. Clemson
trying to play spoiler right now. Minnesota at Oregon coming
(31:18):
up at nine pm tomorrow night on Fox. Some of
the other notable games. Indiana their number two in the country.
They're taking on Wisconsin. They're favored by twenty eight and
a half. Should be a breeze game. Cocks are back
in action. They're at Texas A and M. And this
is once again an opportunity to play spoiler. This is
where they've landed this season in terms of Shane Biemers's
(31:38):
team has already fired their offensive coordinator. We know the
story with Leonora Seilers. They can't keep him up right
and healthy, and it's been so frustrating to watch this
offensive line struggle the way it has. Texas A and M.
They play good defense. They've got a really good young
quarterback in Marcel Reid. That should be an intriguing game.
You can hear that game right here, because you won't
be able to watch it if you get YouTube TV.
(32:00):
So turn the TV off, turn the radio onto one
oh four nine Fox Sports Upstate, and turn into Gamecock
Network coverage of a big game at noon. Of course,
coming up this weekend, Notre Dame is traveling to Pitt
to take on the pit. Pitt's coach totally disregarding the
game with his comments this week saying I don't care
(32:20):
if for lose by one hundred pretty much saying it's
not a conference game, don't really matter. I think he's
tongue in cheek there. But again, big time game. I
think College Game Day will be at that one. And
then of course Oklahoma and Alabama eleven versus four in
that game in C State. It's a huge game for
not only them, but mostly Miami. They're fifteenth right now,
right there on the bubble of the playoffs, and they
(32:41):
can't afford another stumble. They've got to play strong here
and show the committee that they're ready to roll. Maybe
as an at large team. They get Georgia Tech at
Boston College. Georgia Tech quietly at eight and one. I
still think they're the best team in the ACC right now.
Host of other games, including Texas Georgia on Saturday night
should be an exciting weekend of college football. Coming up next,
(33:03):
our good friend Joe Dolan, He's from Fantasy Points dot Com.
He's gonna stop by. I'm gonna chop it up with
him for a good ten fifteen minutes or so about
the NFL, maybe a few thoughts on quarterbacks around the NFL,
and of course the Steelers question to get his blood
boiling and Tray's blood boiling, and much much more. You
guys are invited into the show as well. Eight six
four two four zero five four eight zero. It's a
(33:25):
football Thursday on, Game.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
On, Game On with John Alis, weekdays four to six
on one oh four nine Fox Sports up State.
Speaker 14 (33:39):
Wow good, Please allow me to introduce myself.
Speaker 6 (33:58):
I'm a man.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
And jeans.
Speaker 15 (34:03):
I've been around for long long year, stole many a mess,
solo bae. I was around when Jesus Christ at his
moment down the pain.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Me.
Speaker 15 (34:20):
Damn sure the fighter washed his hands, seal his face.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Please to meet you. I'm a good time here Game
on Football Thursday. Welcome back into the program, Johnny, Let's
trade Pauli, Waltaspalco. And we've got a special guest that's
going to be joining us here after our next guest
joins us here in a few short minutes. We're brought
to you by Ingles Low Prices love to save us
joining us now on the Ingles Hotline. He's one of
our favorite people on the planet football are not football.
(34:53):
He manages Fantasy points dot Com here. He is the
great Joe Dolan. Joe, how you been, Bud?
Speaker 8 (35:00):
Hey? Boys, I noticed that the guest after me is
the special guest. I'm just a guest.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
No, then I completely understand that that's fine. You're just Joe.
Just okay, tune into Just Joe every single Thursday game
on Joe, you know, especially you are to all of us,
man and kicking ass over there Fantasy Points. Okay, So
let's get down to it, man, I got to keep
it local. Here. I was in Charlotte covering the Carolina
(35:26):
Panthers against the New Orleans Saints, and one of the
big topics of conversation about this Panthers team has been
the lack of vertical passing, particularly with Teterero McMillan's specialty
being just that. What are you seeing from this offense?
From Bryce Young in particular? Is there reason to believe
it's time to start shopping for another QB?
Speaker 11 (35:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (35:48):
And I mean I think if you are not sure
after two seasons that it's probably time to at least
start looking for the next guy.
Speaker 7 (35:59):
We have.
Speaker 8 (36:00):
Seeing flashes from Bryce Young and and we've seen stretches
where he's actually been pretty good. But that's not going
to be enough in the NFL unless you build a
just a completely ridiculous team around him, which can be done,
but it's it's a lot easier said than done. When
(36:22):
it comes to Bryce Young, we're looking at somebody who's
average step the target really at seven yards isn't awful.
It's not close to some of the lower ones.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
In the end.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
Aaron Rodgers has a much lower one. Dylan Gabriel is
much lower than that. Kyler Murray is much lower than that.
Gus Jared gobb has a lower average step of target
than Bryce Young. So when when we look at when
we look at Bryce Young's deep throwing, he's doing it
at a little bit of a higher rate than some
(36:53):
of the other quarterbacks. The problem for Bryce Young is
some of his downfield throwing has not been catchable's. He's
throwing just some of these less accurate passes. We have
Bryce Young as charted with a highly accurate throw rate
of under fifty percent. Now, for comparison's sake, we have
(37:15):
Sam Darnold as leading the NFL in that rate at
sixty four point nine percent. So here's here's what highly
accurate throw rate means. We mean it's basically a perfect throw.
It's a throw that hits the receiver and stride hits
them in the numbers, not just catchable, but highly accurate.
For Bryce Young, we have his highly accurate throw rate
(37:36):
at fifty at forty eight point three percent. That's below
Russell Wilson, that's below Michael Pennix, that's below Trevor Lawrence,
who's been having some struggles. It's ahead of guys, just
like it's right ahead of cam Ward. We have Bryce
Young's catchable throw rate at just seventy two point one percent.
For comparison's sake, the NFL leader in that department is
(37:59):
Dak Prescott at eighty point five percent. So Bryce Young
is struggling with his accuracy and as you guys well know,
his limitations as physical limitations would require him to be
a really highly accurate passer to overcome some of those
physical limitations, like when he uncorks it, he's got to
(38:21):
put it on the money, and we're just not seeing
that right now. It's something we did see at Alabama.
It was part of his game there, But I think
it is showing up that his his size, his physical
limitations aren't hurting him right now and hurting this team.
So I think Carolina is going to be in a
rock between a rock and a hard place when it
(38:42):
comes to the quarterback position. This is a five and
five football team right now. So it's not a team that,
unless it goes completely in the tank, is going to
have a really high draft pick and put that other
quarterbacks out on the market. Who you're hearing about, Oh,
this this team's going to move on from this guy. Well,
one of them is Kyler Murray, shorter than Bright, and
the other is to a Tonga by Loa who looks
(39:02):
like he's throwing a helium below. So you're in really full, Like,
what do you like if if Mike question, if you're
gonna tell me, oh, we're the Carolina Panthers. We're gonna
move on from Bryce Young to go to Kyler Murray?
Why would you do that?
Speaker 12 (39:15):
No?
Speaker 8 (39:15):
I would rather just give you another year.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
I'm will you doing that? But and Joe, the more
I look around at the alternatives, I'm I'm I'm at that,
I'm at that intersection you're at right now, It's like,
why would you do that, Trey Falco Steelers officionado, take
it away.
Speaker 9 (39:30):
Yeah, Joe, this probably the most Jekyll and Hyde Steelers
team I've seen in a while. It feels like every
time one side of the ball starts cooking, the other
side just kind of falls off.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Yeah, but uh.
Speaker 9 (39:39):
Ugly, ugly performance from Aaron Rodgers this past weekend. That
this is the second year of washed quarterback kind of
coming in about halfway through the year and falling off.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
You will get one more year out of Aaron Rodgers.
What's going on there? What's what's up with the Aaron
Rodgers train right now?
Speaker 8 (39:54):
Well, let's let's give it another couple of weeks to
see as a break now. You know, look, you've been
watching these Steelers. I would say Aaron Rodgers up to
this point has been reading expectations right right. You brought
him in to be a stabilizing force, and he had
done that. Now he's not the MVP, he's not playing
(40:14):
like the MVP, and he's never going to be that
guy again. I'm going to let him give him a
little bit of a mulligan for having one really bad
game because I don't think I had seen him. Look
that bad this year, he played pretty well. I think
one of the problems is when three of your four
best receivers are all tight ends and one of them
is a three hundred pound ackle adjacent player, that's probably
(40:37):
a little bit of a problem. Why Arthur Sip loves
his tight ends. But and look look what the Rams
are doing with their three tight ends sets right now.
But Aaron Rodgers with those guys, I just don't see
a whole lot of high upside because there's nothing booking
down the field. You know, you look at some of
these teams playing heavy personnel. The Seahawks are doing it
a lot, the Rams are doing it a lot. There
(40:58):
is a lot of vertical drop back under center passing games.
Jackson Smith Jig was making big plays every week. Devanta
Adams and Pukaku are making big plays. There's no porticality
to what the Steelers are doing, and it's making their
offense really easy to defend in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
All right, I'm giving you a couple of teams here
to be most afraid of. Are you more afraid to
face the Rams or the Colts? Right now?
Speaker 8 (41:22):
Oh? The Rams?
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (41:24):
Now, I think the Colts. By the way, Colts beat
the Rams. But they beat the Rams because Ady Mitchell
had a brain fart and then basically ended up skipping
himself completely out of the out of the city because
he was part of the soft Gardner trade. And the
reasons simple. The Rams have not just Pukinakula and Savante Adams.
(41:44):
They've got Matthew Stafford. Now, I think Shane Stichen is
doing as good a job as any coach in the
NFL in scheming up his team. But Matthew Stafford is
a really, really scary player right now. I think he's
I think he's playing better than any core. We're back
in the league, and I know if if you actually
are going to watch this game tonight, which God bless
(42:07):
you if you are, I wish it was on ESPN
so I couldn't watch it. But if you are going
to watch this game tonight, you're gonna see Drake May.
But I think Staffords, just at playing the level he's
playing at, I would have to him as my MVP favorite,
And that makes the Rams the scarier team.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Yeah, and that's what we're trying to figure out in
this ever evolving landscape in the NFL, Like who are
the real teams that you are looking at like, do
you still have that belief or did you have the belief.
I don't know where you were preseason that the Chiefs
are still the team to beat right now. I mean,
they're not even in the playoff picture as of right now.
(42:45):
Do you see them at the end of the day
sneaking in at ten to eleven wins and then okay,
they'll take it on the road and do it the
hard way.
Speaker 8 (42:52):
You know. One of the funny things I said was, look,
I'm from Philadelphia, I'm the Eagles fan, and everybody at
the beginning of the year, you know, especially after the
beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl rematch and the
Chiefs row and two, Everybody's like, oh man, the Eagles
have completely broken the Chiefs. And then I just looked
at it and I said, this is a short handed
Chiefs team. It did not have her she Rice, It
(43:12):
did not have dager Worthy at that time. And now
they have Rice, and now they have Worthy. And I
know they're five and four, but we know Andy Reid
coming off a bye historically great. The AFC goes through
Kansas City, and I understand that this is a cliche
until further notice, and I'm gonna and I'm gonna tell
you why. Let's look at the other AFC teams right now.
(43:34):
Baltimore is certainly under five hundred. Now, Baltimore is still
the favorite, the betting favorite to win the AFC North,
But Baltimore is under five hundred. Lamar Jackson hasn't looked
really sharp since coming back from injury. Okay, Buffalo just
had to leak to the press that they almost got
a trade done for Jalen Waddell to try to get
their fans off Brandon Bean's back for not making a
(43:54):
trade at the deadline. I think it makes them look
worse in opinion, but in my opinion. But Buffalo just
had one of the most embarrassing performances of any team
all season against Miami. Yeah, the Chargers have no offensive line.
The Broncos are the biggest paper tigers. I think I've
ever seen that team has a horseshoe so far up
its butt that it's coming out of its mouth. So
(44:16):
Bonus says, no clue where the ball is going. Yeah,
I'm looking and look the Colts. The culture probably the
most complete ASC team in general. Ultimately, it's a highly
schemed offense. Daniel Jones has not played sharply the last
couple of weeks. And if you were to ask me
to place one bet on a team to win the
AFC right now, it's on the Kansas City Chiefs. And
(44:37):
it's not just because I'm going to sit here and
tell you, oh, it's the Chiefs until it's not the
chief anybody can say that. But I absolutely think they're
really positioned well with the flaws of some of these
other ASC teams.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Joe Dolan Fantasy points dot Com. Go there to find
out all the key metrics you need for your fantasy
football needs and much much more. Joe, it's always a pleasure, man.
Enjoy a great week into football until Monday night where
half the country can't watch it and it's a slop
fest between the Raiders and Cowboys.
Speaker 8 (45:06):
Oh yeah, that's I'm really glad that game's on ESPN
right now because I do not want to see Geno
Smith play football for.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
Oh yeah, in the Dallas defense and all of it. Joe,
we'll see it, but be good man, you too, man.
Joe Dolan from Fantasy points dot Com one of our
favorite people on the planet uh covering the world of
fantasy football NFL at large. Go to Fantasy points dot
com and subscribe to those guys. Man, they do a
hell of a job breaking down everything that's happening in
(45:34):
the world of the National Football League and even a
little college football as well. We've got some college football
and some NFL chatter coming your way. We got a
special guest in studio with us. In a few short minutes,
he'll be joining us at the top of this hour.
We'll make our picks for a week eleven in the NFL.
It's game on. I'm John Ellis. That's Trey Facca. Rebec
right to this for sure? Stadium? Do they have a
(45:57):
nickname for that?
Speaker 2 (45:58):
CITIU Hines Field?
Speaker 1 (46:00):
You can play him out at Parson What have you
got hit by Trump again? I'm not taking CJ over Maholmes.
Let me tell you about Sam darm You could have
him right now for a bag of him and it's
Philly's I'm just a dumb sports talker, but I love you.
Start up, John, Oh yeah, baby, the weight is over.
Speaker 13 (46:20):
I got pure team right now.
Speaker 7 (46:21):
I woke up. I'm ready.
Speaker 6 (46:22):
Finally something to argue about. That isn't your co workers
fantasy trade proposal or Bryce Young's height. It's game on
with John Ellis and Trade Poly Walnuts Falco with wal
to wall NFL action all season long. I am the
new from first snap to final whistle, rookies, revenge games
and questionable calls and absolutely zero patients for.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Your power rankings.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
Yeah k brought to you by Ingles Low Prices, love
the savings hit The phone line said two four zero
fifty four eighty.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
Let's talk some football. Here's John Ellis. All right, it's
a football Thursday. Welcome into the Happy hour. Actually we're
one hour plus the happy hour now. Yeah, yeah, it's
a game on John. Let's tray. Paul wanted to Malcolm.
We've got a special guest that'll be joining us here
in just a few short minutes. Some sad news out
of the world of college athletics right now. This news
(47:18):
comes from kron Television. John Beem confirmed as a victim
in the Laney College shooting on Thursday. This from Alex Baker,
who covers news in the Oakland, California region, and just
want to give you a quick update on what happened
out there. One person was shot at Laney College in
Oakland on Thursday. According to a notification sent out to
(47:39):
the students, the shooter has been reported at the Laney Fieldhouse.
A fifty eight year old man was shot near the
football field at the school and taken to the hospital,
according to the Oakland Fire Department. According to school officials,
the victim was a senior member of the Laney College
athletics staff, and kron Channel four sources have confirmed that
the victim was former Laney football coach and the current
(48:01):
ad John Beam. Wow. We don't know much more about
this story than that, but it was passed along to
us here and we wanted to make sure you guys
were aware of the story that's circulating right now. It
is miles and miles away from where we are, but
our thoughts and prayers are going out to the Beam
family right now with what they're dealing with currently. And
it just goes to show you, man, we've had some
(48:24):
moments over the past couple of weeks on this show
where real life has sort of inserted itself into this
as we talk about the NFL and joke about the
Dallas Cowboys. You know, it is fun in games, but
they do have to play a game on Monday night,
and this is just a week and a half after
losing marshaw neland to a self inflicted gunshot wound suicide.
And I still can't imagine the depths of where you
(48:48):
have to dig as a team. It is in a
way of blessing. They had a bye week there, but
now they have to go back out and play a game,
and I think the bye week does help to heal
some of those wounds. But they put together a foundation
that looks like yep, four Marshawn Neeland's girlfriend. Just some
sad stories going around the world of football right now,
but we're here to lift your spirits over the next
(49:08):
hour or so. It's John Eltz's, It's Trey Falco. You
guys are invited into the show. Two four zero five
four eight zero. Here's the big question of the day.
It's roughly by our friends at Ingles. If you could
pick one job in sports just to try out just anything,
no matter how bad or good you think you'd be
at it. What's that one moment you'd like to have,
that George Plinketon moment where you could step into the
(49:29):
arena and do something. Two four zero five four eight zero.
What are you laughing at?
Speaker 2 (49:35):
I had a random thought.
Speaker 9 (49:36):
I was like, what about what if you want to
You know the guys that stand on the side of
the tennis court at Wimbledon, and they.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
Were like, sprint and grab the ball. Thats a good
job that could be.
Speaker 9 (49:44):
That would be an interesting one, just to try it,
just to say I've done it, just to say that
you were able to do it. What I'd like to
do in the world of sports is to be able
to pick every game right, every single week, one of them.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
That leads us to our next guest here joining us
in studio in the flashes, Chad the Venning Machine King,
what's going on, Big Daddy?
Speaker 4 (50:03):
Big Cat walnuts? What's going on?
Speaker 16 (50:07):
Dad?
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Sounds a lot better in person, does it.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
We ain't got the snack man air conditioner on.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
We need to get your some ambient air.
Speaker 8 (50:15):
Well.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
We had one behind me for a walk and to
hold the make up to it. Good to see it, man, Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
We decided to come up here and enjoy the show.
Speaker 5 (50:23):
Come here and studio and check y'all out and make
some picks with y'all.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Yeah, I'm about to do that.
Speaker 5 (50:29):
We're gonna tune in on the on the question of
the day, Man was gonna ask you. I got the
perfect answer.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Man.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Well I'm thinking I know where you're going. But oh well, you.
Speaker 4 (50:40):
Ain't even got it.
Speaker 5 (50:40):
Okay, Man, I want to be the dude at the
Panther game that bangs the big drum that says, keep pounding.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Just what I want to do. We'll make some noise
in bank.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
Tonys.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
It's gonna replace keep it.
Speaker 5 (50:57):
I can't play with the crap. I can't do no.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
It probably wouldn't even be a good.
Speaker 17 (51:04):
Guy.
Speaker 5 (51:05):
But man, I could beat the crap out of that
drum and make some noise in the Bike of America.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
I see that drum all the time when I'm at
the stadium. It's right there in the tunnel, and I'm
always so tempted, with the credentials over my neck to
find something to hit that damn thing with.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
It might be a good way to lose a credentials,
that's the ticket.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
Yes, you do not want to do that. You want
to hold onto those credentials as long as you can't
be on your best behavior. Here's some breaking news. Uh
Antonio Brown released from jail a waiting trial for attempted
murder charge. This comes from an incident back on May sixteenth.
This is just breaking from Sports Center, so we'll keep
you updated on that. I think I heard something to
(51:45):
the effect that he was given house arrest while waiting
this trial.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Really, I mean that interesting.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
That's pretty easy soft treatment for a guy who was
flown back from wherever he was Dubai.
Speaker 5 (51:58):
Yeah, that the quitter brown dude took his shirt off
in the middle game.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Yes, the same guy. Yeah, the one that Vontez perfect
altered his life.
Speaker 1 (52:08):
Sorry, runs in the court. That's what he's gonna do
it clear, sentencing comes down and the gavel comes just
rip off his suit, peace out. He runs out shirtless.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
I ain't got no respect for that, dude. How you
quit on your team? Man, you can't quit.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Plus there's that whole attempted murder thing.
Speaker 5 (52:30):
But before before all that, I agree respect for him.
I can't do that, man, you just quit on your
team mate. You can't.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
You were talking about the chain gang like in the NFL,
like the old guys to do that, and we've been
talking about the Hawkeye technology that has taken over, and
these guys right now are just like n PC's on
the sidelines. They just hold the chains, they move them.
But they don't do any more measurements during the Panther game,
and you know, we didn't have the luxury of hearing
(52:58):
in the press box or even for the few I
was outside with my kids what the story was behind this.
But like there was a nice delay in the middle
of the the like the commercial break. Not when I
say nice, I mean extended. It was not nice for
any of us. We're sitting there waiting, like what are
we waiting on? All of a sudden, these geezers come
out with the chains to do a measurement. When I
(53:20):
was told and we were all told that it was
all about Yeah, so I'm guessing in that particular case,
the Hawkeye technology malfunction, and I could I would love
to hear the conversation like where is it, what's got
we need to measure this? And finally they go to
Plan B. That's why they have those guys still out there. Yeah,
just in case this sony Hawkeye technology malfunctions, they can
(53:40):
run these geezers out and do a measurement. I think
the Panthers lost that measurement. Chad. That was an awful game.
It was so bad.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
Yeah, a lot of a lot they do the College games.
Will they show the riffs talking about the call.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I love that. That is awesome.
Speaker 4 (53:54):
They would have done that on the thing.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
That needs to be a standard thing around every league
in the NFL. If they're going to continue to employ,
especially at the NFL level, part time officials that aren't
round the clock NFL employees, and the gambling world being
what it is right now and all that it entails,
I'm on full transparency. I want to know, find the scenes,
(54:20):
what they're discussing, why they're discussing it, and I want
to hear the process. There are so many of these
calls that don't make sense when they review them, and
usually it comes down to camrangles and another thing that
just just boils my blood. As long as I'm in
an angry mood right now, it boils my blood that
the NFL, with all the billions they have, you know
(54:44):
the Super Bowl, you know the NFC and AFC Championship games,
they're unlimited angles. They have three yard like the pylons
are there where the markers are first down markers have
a camera in it basically down the line. But Saints,
Panthers one PM, Jets, Dolphins one pm, nothing, cut corners
(55:05):
why is there. No, it's the same thing with the
playing surface uniform standardized. Yeah, everything should be standardized, from
everything from the playing surfaces to the camera angles. Like,
there's no game that's unimportant in the NFL, right, they
all matter. A few matter more than some. I get that.
(55:25):
But as long as we're doing this right, let's fully
do it right. Let us do this. We'll take a break,
come back. We've got a lot of picks to make
for week eleven in the NFL. Chad is in the
house with us trays right there. I'm right here.
Speaker 6 (55:37):
We're gonna come back and make our picks for week
eleven right after this game on with John Alice heard everywhere,
I mean, iHeartRadio Whive.
Speaker 1 (56:20):
Having a good time. It's came on a football Thursday, Johnny.
Let's tray, Pauliguana. There's Chad the vending machine king in
the house as always, did you guys know the big
news around the country right now, among other stories that
we won't touch on, but this one's worth mentioning. We've
got a vending machine king in the house. Doesn't really
affect vending machines with the penny going out of circulation
(56:41):
no more pennies, No more penny for your thoughts. I
guess nickel for your you graduated up to the nickel.
Speaker 4 (56:46):
I read its four cent make a penny.
Speaker 2 (56:49):
Well, it seems that's about what.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
That's what I'm hearing too, So the hell with that?
Cast them out? Just round it up. We're asking you
during the break. I mean, you're working for US State Vending.
You've been running that operation there. What's the what's the
strangest thing you've seen in terms of uh currency inside?
I mean, like an old show biz pizza token I'm
(57:11):
sure has made its appearance and within the coin catcher there.
Speaker 5 (57:15):
Game tokens, a lot of foreign coins. Actually had a
freaking dollar printed off on a xerox machine.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
One cut out the.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
Machine took it.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
Yeah, it passed the test, it went through.
Speaker 5 (57:30):
I changed the dollar taker next after that, I was like,
I don't know what's wrong with this?
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Yeah? What about those who shake the vending machines?
Speaker 7 (57:38):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (57:38):
Man, that happens all the time.
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Yeah. You ever get some injuries that you used to
put it on? I r for a few weeks. Got
it's got scattered.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
I've never had one fall on anybody.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
That's good. Before breaking news. This is big you just
how the hell did you survive that?
Speaker 5 (57:56):
Probably about ten fifteen years ago.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Drink machine or drank machine.
Speaker 5 (58:00):
Man, I was pulling it into my shop and the
shop had a little threshold and the hand truck caught
the threshold and it went down with me and landed
on me and my gosh, yeah I was. I was
by myself, man. I just laid there on the ground
for about thirty minutes, couldn't get my breath.
Speaker 4 (58:16):
My little dog was there, all she was doing, just
licking me in the face old time.
Speaker 5 (58:21):
Finally, after about thirty forty five minutes, I was able
to get up and make it back home.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Thanks.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
Some of my ribs hurt for about three months after
I got doctor. But I mean, they can't do nothing
for a broke grib anyway. But I'm sure I'll be
the broke or cracked a couple that's.
Speaker 1 (58:34):
Sneezing and coughing but would not feel good breathe for
a few days, breathing all that good stuff. Well, I'm
glad you're okay. I never know that.
Speaker 5 (58:42):
Yeah, that was that was years ago. I was still
young back then. It probably put me in the hospital.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
Now I'm old.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
Guess how many things a penny has seen over the years,
like all these wars that we've been through nine to eleven,
but they've never seen a Panther super Bowl, never got
to see it. You got to the print Steelers? How
many ultiple six super Bowls that penny got to see? No,
old honest ay, retiring at the age of two hundred
and thirty three.
Speaker 4 (59:08):
I got buckets of them things at the house. I
don't know what to do with them all.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
Now I'm might be worth something. Get you know what
they're worth? Four cents apparently, just to them go down
to the bank and tell them, hey, I heard on
the news.
Speaker 5 (59:22):
Yeah, actually, man, I've been saving pennies so I was
a teenager.
Speaker 4 (59:26):
I got jars and jars and pennies at the house.
Just I don't even know what to do with them.
Speaker 5 (59:31):
I'm sure some of them probably old, worst something, But yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (59:33):
I ain't going through them all. It's too many.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
All right, Well, let's get your penny for thoughts here
as we fire up the band, get ready for another
huge week of victims here on Game On, where you
continue to lead our standings. You have one hundred wins
on the season right on the button. One hundred wins,
and you've got that Biff Sports Almanac and your Dolore
(59:58):
and I'm convinced it is. None of us had a
great week last week, but last week was slop. Nobody
could tell what was happening. Let's start with what's going
on tonight here? Is there any chance Chad that the
New York Jets can upset Drake May on the road
as they play the Patriots?
Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
Well, I'm gonna shoot it, take you straight juh, not
at all? Fair enough?
Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
You're taking the Pets. The spread, by the way, we're
picking them straight up. Spread is twelve and a half,
one of the bigger spreads of the year. What do
you think, Falco? Is there any chance for Aaron Glenn
to give us something to look forward to here?
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Man, I'll just talk about pennies. I'm gonna keep it
a buck. The Jets are ass Give me the New
England Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Yeah, give me the Pats as well. That's a bridge
too far. All right, here we go. The Sunday Slate
gets kicked off. Oh we got another overseas game. This
one is in Madrid, y'all. A couple teams that aren't
as attractive as the ones that have been playing lately.
Although the Dolphins have been coming on strong lately. They
(01:01:02):
are the designated home team. The Commanders know Jade and Daniels,
it will be Marcus Mariota once again in this game.
The Dolphins got hot last week they beat the Bills
thirty to thirteen. I'll lead off here. I do like
the Dolphins. I think the Commanders are a little depleted
on both sides of the ball. The defense has been
very leaky right now. And no Jade and Daniels Falco.
(01:01:25):
I just I gotta go Miami here.
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 9 (01:01:28):
I'm gonna go with Washington though, because I gotta beat Chad,
because I feel like he's probably gonna pick Miami.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Well, here's the suspense moment, Chad, who you got?
Speaker 5 (01:01:36):
Man? I think I am gonna go with Miami just
because Washington is an NFC team and they need to
lose to get the Panthers of.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
You know, logic strategy? Now if you well so far
this year?
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
And plus I want to hear the referee might coll
in Spanish?
Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
Yes, yes, all right, here we go Panthers Falcons. They're
in Atlanta this week. They have won a couple of
straight games against the Falcons, including Bryce Young's five touchdown
performance Week eighteen last year in this very stadium. Mister
two tuddies, how do you see this game going?
Speaker 5 (01:02:13):
We gonna take the Panthers about two touties, big guy, Like,
we got Atlanta's number right now.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
I think we're on a roll against these guys. Who
you got in this game, PAULI.
Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
I'm gonna get kicked out of this building. Give me
the Falcons. Yeah, I know, Carolina's got their number straight
through jail.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Yes, but I just I don't know, Jim. At some point,
the stats have.
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Got to flip around and Atlanta's got to win at
least one. Maybe that's this week.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Well, the key is Bejehon Robinson, as it is with
every game they play. If he gets shut down of
neutralized and Pennis is not proven to this point that
he could really be the elevator of that team. Carolina's
run defense has been their strength. They've had the Falcons number.
Give me the Panthers. They're an underdog again of the
fact they're an underdog in this game, Give me the
Panther straight up on the road, all right, Oh boy.
(01:03:05):
Bengals Steelers Sunday, one pm. Joe Burrow will not play.
Joe Flacco has been limited in practice this week.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
All right, there we go.
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Might be the Jake Browning Show. We don't know yet,
but I'll send it to you, Trey. This is your game,
this is your team.
Speaker 9 (01:03:23):
Who you got, well, Big Cat is gonna be them,
Pittsburgh Steelers by two.
Speaker 7 (01:03:29):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
I like it, Walnut, Who we got? Man? Who got? Steelers?
Are Bengals?
Speaker 5 (01:03:36):
Man?
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
The Steelers got me last week?
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
But they do that.
Speaker 5 (01:03:40):
I'm still gonna pick the Give me the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
I think they got I think they get over.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Field. We got to split it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Since it come on.
Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
I'm tempted to pick Sincy here, but I think there's
too much stuff going on with Cincinnati injury wise. Steelers
are dealing with their own injuries. On defense, Darius Slave
has been banged up. A couple of other guys on
the offensive line have been in and out. But I
do like the Steelers at home. It's a five and
a half points spread, but straight up give me Pittsburgh
to get back on track at six and four. All right,
(01:04:10):
here we go, another huge game in the AFC Chargers,
Jim Harbaugh's team who dismantled Pittsburgh last Sunday night, or
at Jacksonville to take on Duvall. Let's start with Trey.
I know where this is going.
Speaker 9 (01:04:26):
Give me that Disney villain Harball to upset Duvall and
put it into this.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
I'm with you. Look, I don't have the irrational hatred
of the Jags that you seem to have adopted this year.
Just Cohen, Liam Cohen, Yeah, Liam Cohen, what a bum
he is. That was a catastrophic loss they had last week.
It's the kind of loss that the Bears had last year.
A couple of those that can send your season in
(01:04:55):
a tailspin when you're one of those kind of five
hundred ish teams. And I think Jim Harball takes no prisoners.
Their offensive line's banged up, but I don't think they care.
They going to Jacksonville. It'll be a bit of a
neutral environment. They'll go down there and they'll win. I
think they'll win big in this game.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Chad, I'm gonna do Harball is a better coach. I'm
going with Chargers all right here.
Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
We're going another huge game in the one o'clock window,
Buccaneers Bills one pm on Sunday on CBS. Chad, who
are we thinking in this game? Now?
Speaker 4 (01:05:28):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:05:29):
That's a tough, tough, tough, tough.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Josh Ally versus Baker Mayfield. But two good defenses, one
that can't stop the run.
Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
Though right now with Buffalo, they eat Buffalo though, No.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
Yeah, they are in Buffalo.
Speaker 7 (01:05:43):
You're up.
Speaker 5 (01:05:44):
I think I'm going Buffalo just because I want Tample
to lose a game. You Yeah, that's the only reason
I'm saying Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Gimme, Yeah, give me the Bills at home. Look, here's
the one sticking point. I will say it'll be close.
Baker has played so well this year, even when they've
lost those games, He's been near perfect in terms of
the stats. It looks like Bucky Irving could be back
in this game. That'll help them run. The Bills have
been really bad against the run lately. But I think
at home, in a must win situation, Buffalo wins this game.
(01:06:17):
They they've got to keep pace with New England, especially
if the New England wins tonight. Give it the Beals
over the Buccaneers.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
Ethan Parsons.
Speaker 9 (01:06:23):
This one goes out to you give me those Tampa
Bay Buccaneers at Baker Mayfield because I need him to
put up points and I need Agi Bookie to put
up fantasy points too, So let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
You don't remember gronk gronk?
Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
Careful, yeah, yeah, Oh, you're always a couple syllables away
from being unemployed in this business. All right, Here we go,
Bears Vikings, a sneaky good game here where Caleb Williams
played better football of late and this Bears team six
and three they're in Minnesota, who is four and five
right now? JJ McCarthy, his altary go nine has not
(01:07:01):
been living up to expectations so far. I do like
the Vikings in this game. Sorry, Tim, to do this
to you might not mean anything, but I think the
Vikings are gonna blitz. They're gonna get after Caleb, They're
gonna take away the run. I love Brian Flores' attacking defense.
I just have a feeling about this one, Trey. I
think the Vikings win at home.
Speaker 9 (01:07:20):
Yeah, give me nine, and then double it and give
me Caleb Williams because Chicago's gonna win this one.
Speaker 16 (01:07:26):
That's good math, That Maxwell, you math, good boy, Chad,
You got man.
Speaker 5 (01:07:37):
That's a tough one too. I ain't got all the
fight than Caleb. But I'm only going to Minnesota just
because I a home.
Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
I like Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Don't you make it of the Jeds. You give him
an opening here, giving them an opening here. Texans at Titans.
Texans rallied big last week. The Titans are hot mess.
I'm taking Houston. I'm sorry. Don't forgive this one a
lot of thought, Chad? Do you agree with us?
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Oh?
Speaker 12 (01:08:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:08:02):
Man?
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
The only one one game.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Picking underdog for any other jo dog at take they get, well,
I just win it. If I did so, you would.
This one's got some sneaky good potential too, as Jamis
Winston makes his season debut at home against the struggling
Green Bay Packers, who suddenly find themselves after that two
(01:08:25):
and oh start. They're five, three and one, they're coming
off losses against Carolina against Philadelphia. Giants are two and eight,
but they're they're frisky, man, they're playing hard. It's the
Jamis Winston debut. Tray, who do we have here?
Speaker 17 (01:08:37):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
Big cat?
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Give me them Giants by four tuddies and two picks,
but they still win.
Speaker 8 (01:08:44):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Yeah, yeah, maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Give me the Giants can't pick ties. Could be like
a thirty eight thirty eight time Yeah, Green Bay hit
be two. There might be a lot of interceptions in
this game. There might be between Jordan Love and h Jamis.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Yeah, get ugly.
Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
I'm taking the Giants and I'm being this in earnest.
I think the pass rush is going to affect Jordan Love.
I think Brian Burns is going to get after him
a little bit. I think a new head coach brings
some new energy to the building. With Mike Kafka, they
had a lot of fatigue from Brian Dable reportedly behind
the scenes. I think Jamis this is going to be
his introductory game of the year, that annual clearant seal
(01:09:25):
where he comes out and airs it out from four
touchdowns before he goes on a meltdown streak. Give me
the Giants, upset the Packers.
Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
Man, I'm gonna have to go completely against y'all.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Good.
Speaker 5 (01:09:37):
I'm gonna take him Packers, just gold. I think Love
it's a better quarterback than Winston Well usually yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
Today not in New York. Four o'clock games are appealing
to Here we go, let's wrap this up here Seahawks
and Rams. This might be the game of the week.
Here a battle for NFC West supremacy is both teams
are seven and two. Stafford has been superb all season long,
probably the league MVP. Darnold has been very steady as well.
(01:10:05):
And they've got Jackson Smith in Jigba who's been amazing
as well. Chad linis off here. Who we got in
this game?
Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
I'm going with Rams? Are they playing at home? I
just like it's the Rams game.
Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
There we go, Trey who We're going?
Speaker 9 (01:10:20):
Yeah, shout out Ethan Parsons, Matt Stafford, top seven quarterback
in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
Give me the Rams.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
It's been taken on the pot of this show. Give
me the Rams at home. I do think the Seahawks
will travel well. I just Stafford has been so on
point this year. They're running the ball well. It should
be such a good, compelling game. He's only three and
a half spread, But give me the Rams out right
in this game. Forty nine ers Cardinals still uncertain about
(01:10:46):
brock Perty status. Mac Jones is ready to roll if
he needs to. They're at Arizona, another one of those
Jeckel and high teams. We can't figure out. No, Kyler Murray.
Of course, Jucoby Brissette gets the start again. The Niners
are depleted injury wise, but they're playing tough.
Speaker 8 (01:11:03):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Give me the Cardinals in an upset on the road.
Did they have the potential to beat a lot of
teams in this league? They've been close all year long. Yeah.
I don't dislike the forty nine ers long term prospects.
I just feel like this might be a sort of
a get right game for Brissette for what happened last
week and the forty nine Ers going into Arizona. I
know it's about this divisional game that's just sort of
(01:11:25):
a gut feeling game. They're only a two and a
half point favorite. Give me the Cardinals out right, Jed,
there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:11:32):
It's just and Arizona.
Speaker 5 (01:11:33):
They playing at home, but I don't think they got
the manas because San Francisco ain't that far away, and
mcmc is freaking rolling. He is well, he's got like
six hundreds.
Speaker 1 (01:11:47):
Leading the team and passer and receiving and rustling. By
the way, we just learned in the middle of this
pick brock Purty will start yes Sunday. That just about
the whole. I'm gonna stick with my pick, even though
I'm leaning against a little bit right now. Jim, give
me the Cardinals. Still in that. I'll take it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
Take Rock Party. Give me the forty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
Ers, all right. Ravens Browns. Ravens are one of the
hotter teams, so I know you don't care. Ravens Browns. Yeah,
give me the Ravens here. I just I think they're
on a hot streak right now, and I don't know
if they're going to catch Pittsburgh, but they're damn well
gonna come close. Trey, who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Give me the Browns because I need the Ravens to
not take the division.
Speaker 5 (01:12:25):
Spicy man, I ain't going in Browns, then.
Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
The Browns, Dude, White bull. Big big game of the weekend,
Broncos hosting the Chiefs. It's in Denver. Although Kansas City
is a favorite in this game, Vegas still loves the Chiefs. Chad,
who do you love in this game?
Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Man? This is a tough game and freaking Chiefs have
got me a couple of times this year and I
hate to pick against them, but man, Den were so good.
They have mile high Maybe a mess with the Chiefs
a little bit. You know, there's a little thinner up there.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Yep, voice will be higher.
Speaker 5 (01:13:05):
Yeah, Man, give me the Broncos. I think the Chiefs
and de Walls.
Speaker 4 (01:13:09):
Man, give me Broncos.
Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
Go ahead, give me the Chiefs because I gotta pick
against Chad. With the Broncos, I got a game ground.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
I'm taking Kansas City. This is where you know, despite
mahomes is octave going up, but not your two with
the helium effect.
Speaker 4 (01:13:31):
To change that by some deal.
Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
All right, gotta have traving. We're gonna workshop that one.
Chiefs are five and four. I think they'll get to
six and four. I don't see them backtracking a five hundred.
The Broncos have had some issues of late. We talked
to Joe Dolan about this a minute ago. Uh Bo
Nicks has been really inconsistent over the past month, and
he's got a real bad touchdown to interception ratio against
(01:13:55):
AFC teams. So give me them Chiefs because they am
still the Chiefs until further notice. All the Sunday night game,
you've got Dan Campbell, You've got the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 7 (01:14:11):
Right now, I woke up, I'm ready, and.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
They're gonna be in Philadelphia for a Sunday Night classic.
Six and three Lions, seven and two Eagles. This cannot
be a bad game. There's no way this can be
a bad game. Dan Campbell doesn't have bad primetime game.
He doesn't not they don't win them all. But damn
sure it's gonna be entertaining fun. Yeah, he's got a
problem score. It'll be a one score way Chad, who
(01:14:33):
do you think wins?
Speaker 4 (01:14:34):
Man? Man, I go, I gotta go with him. Eagles
they at home?
Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
Yeah, give me the flageles fly who we got found.
Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
There is no doubt in my mind.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
It doesn't matter if you have one ass, cheek and
three to.
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
Give me Dan Campbell, give me the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
All the way, especially if he's holding that Appleby's menu
like it was last week, calling them players on the sidelines.
I love the energy. There's something about Philly right now
where look seven and two. I talked to Tony yesterday
about this. Tony, this is no knock on your team,
but I think this is a Dan Campbell statement game
going into Philly. He even talked about it this week
(01:15:13):
when he played in the league, how he loved playing
in Philly because fans would throw batteries at him. Oh yeah,
the Philly fans, they're brutal. He said. One time a
fan threw a dip cup at him, spit cup on him. Yeah,
so I think Dan's got a little bit of bitterness
channeled from deep with controlled fury. Indeed, one more game
(01:15:35):
before we get out of here for a break. It's
the Monday night game. We got to pick it. It's
Cowboys at the Raiders. I'll lead this one off. I'm
gonna piss off Cowboys Nation and take the Raiders. And
I think it'll be due to the fact that I
still don't have a ton of faith in what they're
doing in the run defense game. Now they've added some pieces,
(01:15:55):
but this could be a gent coming out party in
this game. I know they're to play brock Bowers will
feast on those tight ends in the passing game. I
think it might be somewhat entertaining. And it's sort of
a gut picture. Give me the Raiders just Dallas in Vegas.
It just feels like one of those clunky matchups. I
like it.
Speaker 9 (01:16:14):
Man Big, can't give me them Cowboys with two crashouts.
Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
George Pickens Pickens in Vegas, it would be a definite
jackpot we would hit if we all could see George
Pickens have a flame out in that stadium. All right, Chad,
close us out here.
Speaker 5 (01:16:31):
We got I'm just gonna go with the Raiders because
they're playing at home in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
I think I'll stand alone.
Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
I don't think that was gonna go to Vegas and
beat them. It's gonna be a close game, but I
think the.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Raiders, Jerry's gotta find some glory though.
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
Next year.
Speaker 5 (01:16:49):
When it was glory whole days and I've been here
when it was and so having said that, I want
made some glory.
Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
Holes right.
Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
The gas out here in Vegas. I don't know those
are your weekly picks. Let's take a call before we
head the commercial welcome into game on how are we doing?
Speaker 17 (01:17:09):
Hey? John, this is rocking in Greenville, heading home from work.
I know you got your guests there and you're making
your pick. I'm actually calling on your question you had
about what job in sports you like to have if
you and that's that's why I wanted to call you.
(01:17:30):
You and Judge Kasey Manning, who good friend of my
family back in Columbia and my parents are no longer
with us. But some years ago I was talking to
him and I said, Judge, I would love to do
what you do, to be able to sit there at
court side, headphones on, next to play by play on
(01:17:52):
the radio. Oh yeah, you sit to analyze. And I
played the game at a collegiate level.
Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
I have some knowledge of it.
Speaker 17 (01:18:01):
I wish I was a little mortality. But to be
able to sit there and and just be up close
to personal with the players, find out about the opponents,
and to be able to do that and get paid
for it? Are you serious and just that when you
said when you said what would you have always want
(01:18:23):
to do? And I said, okay, I got to call
them it somethy time, because that's.
Speaker 7 (01:18:26):
A no brainer.
Speaker 17 (01:18:27):
If I could be like just an analyst and talk
about the game, what are the assessed that'sfected, whatever, whatever
knowledge that you may be able to bring to it
as an analyst, that to me would just be so
fun getting paid for it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
And you're getting paid for it, Rock, It's funny you
bring that up. All the sports jobs I do, and
most of them involve, you know, live calling shows, this
being the premiere one that I do every single day.
But obviously you got some work in Charlotte with the Panthers,
and then thanks to our friends at Ingles, over the years,
I've had the opportunity through ESPN Plus and throw Next
Star to call some games, and I had always wanted
(01:19:04):
to try my hand at that, and I think, you know,
at some point, given some better time constraints, I can
get back into that. But my first time doing it
was down to Charleston Southern doing a football game against Monmouth,
and it was a big South game of the week
and I was the lead play by play guy with
the Jay Sonhalter, who's done a lot of great color commentary.
(01:19:25):
And this was back in twenty twenty one, and I
was never so nervous in my life, I swear to goodness, man.
I spent all week on conference calls, getting to know
the players and talking in the production meetings about, you know,
how to prep and came with my spot board and
had everything ready, and you know, all the thing people
I talked to, like Don Munson, I'd asked him some advice,
and Bill Razinski, a former Panther announcer, and so many
(01:19:48):
others I've gotten to know. I even touch base with
Bob Sochi, who's the voice of the Patriots who's been
a good friend for a long time, and he gave
me some great pointers. And it doesn't matter. When you
get there in the booth, you lock up and it
it went great. But boy, in my own mind, I
was never so nervous in my life. And then by
the second quarter, it was like the time of my life.
It was so much fun. It was a great adrenaline rush.
(01:20:09):
And I've done a few other spots too, But uh,
it really is a special job. It is special.
Speaker 17 (01:20:15):
Well, I wouldn't want to do the play by play,
but you have to play by play.
Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
I'd love to hear you play by play. Meant that
I want to hear rock you do play by play.
I think you'd be great play by play.
Speaker 17 (01:20:27):
Hell no, you know, and to be able to see
this and analyze this, put in whatever as an analyst,
to be able to put you know, just to go
in and put in your your why you're there for
a couple of three or four hours, and like I mean,
probably the second thing would be like a sports talk
(01:20:48):
show host. And you got to work your ass off.
I know you do, but it's got to be a
labor of love for you.
Speaker 12 (01:20:54):
It is.
Speaker 17 (01:20:55):
It is get on the radio and talk sports and
get paid for.
Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
It really well. And we are we are so blessed
to have this. We're so blessed to be able to
do it. And like we joke a lot about the show,
and we joke a lot about sort of our processes.
But it is especially for a facult and I both
and everybody here, whether it's Jeremy, whether it's Rich, we
all put in a lot of time to make sure
that it it resonates in some way with y'all. And
(01:21:20):
you guys make the show man. That's what makes it
so great. It's like a family. So Rocky, I think
that's awesome. Dude. We got to hit a break, but
call us tomorrow man, we'll be here too. Rocky and
those are Rocky with some big aspirations, big dreams out there.
Speaker 5 (01:21:34):
What did you do?
Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
Break the phone?
Speaker 8 (01:21:35):
Bull?
Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
That's fine, Rocky coming in hot, breaking wayes. Let's hit
a break. We'll come back and we'll wrap up this
edition of Game on the next fifteen minutes or so.
Speaker 6 (01:21:48):
This is Game on on one O four nine Fox
Sports Upstand. Get in on the show at two four
zero fifty four to eighty or hit us up on
Twitter at one O four nine Fox Sports. All right,
(01:22:34):
we're gonna football Thursday here live from the Ingle Studios
downtown Greenville. It's John Ellis, Trey Falco and of course,
as always, whether it's in studio, whether it's not in studio,
it's our good friend, our dear French had the vending
Machine King joining us here.
Speaker 1 (01:22:50):
It's game on. I hope you all are doing well
to day. Good to be with you, Chap.
Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
Yeah, man, we always have a good time coming up
here to stick always.
Speaker 7 (01:22:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:22:58):
I got an awesome view out there to say, the
lights in Greenville lit up.
Speaker 1 (01:23:01):
Oh absolutely, man. I mean this is a great time
of year obviously with the seasons changing, and you got
that that beautiful glow in the air and it boy,
we had that cold snap a couple of days ago.
Oh man, you're up in my neck of the woods
and boiling springs. And we both woke up the other morning.
It was Sunday morning, Monday morning, Sunday night. We're we're
at that Panther game and all of a sudden, you
(01:23:21):
wake up the next day. We roasted at that Panther game.
It's like seventy degrees and all of a sudden you
wake up and it's down in the twenties. You like,
what the hell's going on out here?
Speaker 5 (01:23:29):
Man? I know it's getting that time of year when
you stop the drinks and the drink machine. They're the
same temperature as the drinks in the machine already.
Speaker 1 (01:23:39):
It's like one of the things. We came home from
Ingles the other night, and uh, we do this from
time to time. Sometimes backs and sometimes you plan ahead.
You leave the bottled water case sitting out there on
the front porch spots. So yeah, you go out there
the next day and they're nice and cold and ready
to go. Oh yeah, y'all stop at Ingles on the
way home that I get all you need for the
week ahead, for the weekend ahead, because it's tail gate
(01:24:00):
and season right now. Low prices. Loved the savings at
Engle's Market, So Chad. This report came out earlier today.
Remember last offseason we were talking about these NFL report cards.
These players were given out to the teams, like all
the things within teams, like the facilities, the food, all
of it. Well, this story broke today from ESPN dot com.
(01:24:22):
The NFL has filed aggrievance against the NFLPA to stop
report card grades.
Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
Huh yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:24:29):
And one of the owners that led the charge apparently
was Woody Johnson, the Jets owner who does not want
to be graded apparently by the NFLPA. Here's the story
real quick. The NFL fiult agrievance against the Players Association,
asking the union to stop its annual team report cards
and saying the exercise violates the CBA agreement by airing
public criticism of teams. According to documents attained by ESPN,
(01:24:53):
the league and the owners mainly claimed the report cards,
which poll players on various aspects of working conditions and
violates the CBA clauses, says NFL owners and the union
must meet and use reasonable efforts to curtail public comments
by club or personnel players which express criticism of its club,
its coach, its operation, or its policy. This is hogwash, man,
(01:25:17):
It's terrible. It lacks trends parency if they go this direction.
The owners have all the power, they've always had, all
the power right now of these players.
Speaker 12 (01:25:25):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
They make a ton of money too, And I understand
it's a business, but damn give the players something to
be able to grade their own teams on anonymously. I
will add I think it's totally fair to do this,
to be able to look back, and it gives us
input as fans, as talk show host as listeners to
be like, hey, you know, maybe something's amiss with some
(01:25:47):
of these teams that maybe we otherwise wouldn't have known.
I think it's perfectly fair.
Speaker 5 (01:25:51):
You talked about it over. Need more transparency, yes, something
same difference than this.
Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Absolutely, need more transparency. I love what you mentioned earlier
when the ACC has been putting out these live look
ins at the command center, Yeah, talking about some of
the controversial calls throughout the season, and they'll show these
you know, referees working with the ear pieces and talking
back to you know people in Charlotte that are at
the center command and they're working together on a solution.
(01:26:18):
That is how I think all leagues are trying to
do it. But it would give us as fans a
real window inside of it to say, Okay, I trust
this because I'm not a sports better. I'm just and
I'm not diminishing those that do it. It's just not
something I'm interested in doing and ever have been. But
it's prevalent in the league right now. It's all over
the place. It's important in the NFL to have that
(01:26:40):
transparency when there's so many bad calls every week.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
What have you mocked up to NBA riffs too? That
might be pretty neat.
Speaker 1 (01:26:47):
I would love that.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
I love how the NBA, though, they go to that
table and they look into the camera when they have
that challenge. They call it the bartender cam. Oh yeah,
it's like there's a bartender every time around. Another thing
got it with officiating too, is the fact that they
never have to do press conferences. They get shielded from everything.
Is the NFL protects the reps, and they should be
(01:27:10):
protected physically, but like from a professional standpoint, they should
have to speak this Toush push play, it's becoming real
clear that it's not that hard to officiate because there's
a false start every time they run the damn thing.
This happened the other night on Monday Night Football, where
you you definitely saw early movement on the Toush push
and then when the Packers ran a standard running play,
(01:27:32):
they called a false start on them, but the guy
barely moved this head up before the snap. How do
you not see a wall of Eagles helmets moving while
that ball is still in the center's hands. How are
you not calling that? And why can't you challenge that?
It's crazy?
Speaker 5 (01:27:47):
I agree, I agree they leastly today's rule. The other
coach can challenge it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
Yeah, some news from the Jets. Ady Mitchell, the receiver
they acquired in the trade with the Colts, is active,
so he'll be playing no Garrett Wilson this game. Of course,
it is the marquee game of the slate, at least tonight.
It's the only game on the slate tonight is the
Jets are traveling to New England to take on the
New England Patriots. And the graphic had flashed earlier Drake
(01:28:15):
may is one of the favorites right now to win MVP,
and I can't argue with that. Man, He's playing some
high level football dude.
Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
Who else is in the running?
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Stafford Mahomes, Stafford Josh Allen's always mentioned in that Stafford
to me is the MVP. And Jonathan Taylor too. I
mean he would you think of the MVP in the
context of if you take that player away, what does
that team look like? If you take Taylor away from
the Colts. Man he has as much value as like
(01:28:44):
Newton had to the Panthers during that run. He makes
the whole thing go.
Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
Yeah, I wonder how must the spread would go if
he was out, you know, how many points down would
it go?
Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
And that's where the Colts have to be, you know,
praying and hoping that he stays healthy throughout this run.
Right now, two four zero five four eight zero, we
have a couple more minutes for a phone call if
you want to dive in and join us here. We're
gonna hit a break, come back and wrap up this
edition of Game on right after this
