Absolutely, and yes it's all black, gold and processed blue
as far as the eye can see.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
You know, I'm winning Rome.

He's gonna be Rome.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Call us.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Let's fight about it. It's the call two four zero
fifty four eight day. Now here's John Ls and Trey
Polly Walnut's Falco.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It is a football Thursday we can confirm that, yes
we can, Yes we can. Week ten starts tonight in
the NFL, and we got a big Week eleven coming
up in the world of college football. It's going to
be back with you today live from the Ingles Studios.
It's John I Listen's, Trey Paully, Wannat's Falco. It is
game on on another beautiful day in the Upstate. I

(01:26):
will once again just plead to the weather gods out there,
let's bring the temps down about fifteen degrees.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Hey, they may be listening to you. I think on
Monday it's supposed to drop.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
It's supposed to be cold. You know. I was looking
at our buddy Chris Justice on Facebook and he had
this big graphic the free zone, like temperatures are gonna
plumme it next week. Then I go to the extended forecast.
It looks like Monday's gonna be like in the forties.
I love it anytime. I guess cold weather, bring it home. Man,
got a lot of football to get to, including a

(01:57):
story out of Dallas. That is the utmost importance we
need to bring to you. Question of the Day is
brought to you by Eagles who markets low Brice's love
the Savings. It's been a hot topic on Twitter today,
so I thought i'd bring it to your attention and
see if you'd want to bite on this one. You
had to have one receiver all time to make the
big catch at the end of a game. Who would
it be Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson. Randy Moss or

(02:19):
Calvin Johnson? Which one of those big bodies that you'd
taken for the biggest catch? You need two four zero
five four eights here? Look, you can throw in Jerry Rice,
you can throw in sure, Larry Fitzgerald, a number of
great receivers between Antonio Holmes. He did it. Well, that's
the thing. There you go. You just blew the whole
thing up. Thanks a lot. Okay, throwing Santonio, there's a

(02:43):
whole term. Now you moss in people I don't know.
For me, I have to go. I gotta give it
to Moss. You're not calvining people. You don't. You got Calvin.
It doesn't have the same effect. It doesn't have the
same ring to it. Although we saw at times, I
never saw this with Randy Moss. Its all people covering
Calvin Johnson like they were a gunner on a punt team,

(03:04):
I had two people on the line of scrimmage. Who
would you take in the big moment? Would it be
Calvin Johnson Randy Moss? Give us a call? Two four
zero five four eight zero. I want to spend a
few minutes on this one, y'all. I know we're in
here having fun. I'm throwing a football around. Football is
what we love to talk about. But this is life round.
This is a big story ties into football. And you've

(03:25):
heard by now, I'm sure if you have not heard
the tragic news that was discovered this morning that Marshawn Neelan,
the defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, has died of
apparent suicide, only twenty four years old. Trade twenty four
and here's what hit home for me on this one.
I was broadcasting up Her Live during the Monday night hours,

(03:47):
and during Monday night football. One of the plays that
we were talking about was this very player, Marshaan Knillan,
with his first and now tragically only touchdown in his
very short NFL career, was on a block punt where
he jumps on the ball. And then you hear this
news today. This is from Todd archery ESPN. If you
have not heard, Dallas Cowboys defensive end MARSHW Neland, who

(04:10):
is twenty four years old, died Thursday morning from an
apparent self inflicted gunshot, according to law authorities. The team
put out a statement Thursday, but did not mention the
cause of death. It is with extreme sadness that the
Dallas Cowboys share that Marshaw Neelan tragically passed away this morning.
Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of her organization.

(04:30):
Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawan are with his girlfriend,
Catalina and his family. The Cowboys have made counseling resources
available to all players, coaches, and staff. The players are
on their bye week and are not scheduled to practice
again until Monday. Now. Some of the details here. According
to Frisco Police in Texas, the department responded to assist

(04:51):
the Texas Department of Public Safety with locating a vehicle
that evaded troopers during a pursuit that entered the city
around ten thirty last night Central time. DPS troopers found
Neeland's vehicle crashed on southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway.
According to the report. Neiland fled the scene on foot,
and officers searched the area with the help from canine

(05:13):
and drone units, and approximately three hours later, Neiland was
found with what appeared to be a self inflicted gunshot wound.
During the course of the search, officers received information that
Neeland was expressing suicidal ideations and thoughts. According to the report,
there is more to the story, obviously, but that's the
crux of it. And I want to remind those out

(05:34):
there that are struggling with this. I have known people
in my life that have been down that dark path.
I just full disclosure. I deal with depression every single day.
I've been open about that. I have never felt the
need of desire to take my own life, but it
is hard. There's that fog that we go through. And
I think one of the great people that has loaned

(05:55):
his his life and his platform to talking about this
has been Glazer of Fox Sports, and he's often talked
about that word, the fog you go through. And we
don't know the entirety of this story. Certainly we know
bits and pieces of it. I think we know enough
to understand that this is just a horrible, horrible story.
And as Tom Pellsero tweeted out earlier. If you need

(06:18):
emotional support, reach out to the National Mental Health Hotline.
The number is nine eight eight, and you are not alone.
And that's just a little PSA from your friend John
here and your friend Ray. Look, everybody goes through something.
It's it's something that somebody's going through right this second
in America that we're not talking about. Oh yeah, more
than likely because the fact that we're talking about a

(06:40):
player in the NFL, it sheds light on it, It
sheds awareness on it, and it gives us all a
reason to pause. Look, there is a player. I'm sure
chiefs Jay remembers this. I think he's brought this up,
Javon Belcher who did something similar and I believe it
was in the parking lot of Arrowhead Stadium a while back.
So just kind of one another. You never know what

(07:01):
somebody else is going through, and sometimes it puts it
in perspective. While we might go through some things in
our own life, whether it's professionally or personally, boy, we
hope we're a long way away from going down that road.
And we never know when somebody we love might leave us.
So that one hit home for me today, and I
just wanted to give it its proper context and thought there.
But I think it's a good thing at least the small,

(07:25):
very minuscule silver lining because you know the team, and
we talk about the Cowboys all the time on the show,
and it's all in good fun and we have fun
with it, and we're going to have fun with him
again at some point. But for today, you know, the
family is devastated and crestfallen. You know, the team, Oh dude, dude,
this is one of their guys. I mean, this is
and the fact that there is a bye week at

(07:47):
least gives them and I know it's petty because it's
time football, but it gives them time. I couldn't imagine
having to go out there and play a game four
days after this happened. So that's the news on Marshawn Neeland.
We'll keep you post if there's any other relevant updates
to that. Cowboys are on a bye week, and of
course it is week ten in the NFL. And as

(08:09):
we shift gears back to the world of what we do,
which is covering sports and having a little bit of
fun and trying to get our minds off things that
are in the darkness there. I was amused today when
I saw what's going on in Minnesota with JJ McCarthy
nine nine. Apparently he's no longer JJ McCarthy. Have you
seen the video of McCarthy where he looks deranged in

(08:31):
the locker room? He looks, Yes, he looks like he's
on one right there. Yeah. Yeah. And apparently he has
talked about very openly the fact that he goes into
an alter ego by the name of nine and nine.
Isn't it from Stranger Things? Or is that eleven? Well
that's eleven, okay, nine, gotcha eleven. This is That's what

(09:00):
he had to say about it. It really kind of
started to show up this year and it came about
during injured reserve last year. Just never had a full
season where you want to be out there so bad
but you can't. It was just this build up anger
that was kind of ready to explode. I just chose
to harness it instead of letting it go. And it's
a unique way to perform. But I also think there's
a lot of power that comes with that build up

(09:20):
anger and you can transmute into your performance. He's an
interesting cat. I'll tell you that like say, if he wins,
who cares? I was gonna say, who cares? He's playing
with a bit of a passion right now that the
teammates seemed to respond to and they like. But this
quarterback carousel that we're in right now, it's so interesting,
especially when you look at the dynamics of the playoff picture.

(09:43):
Right now, You've got Mac Jones.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
Of all people, Yeah, who'd have thought coming into this season?

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Who on their bingo card? You talk about an afterthought
right like to me, Daniel Daniel, Daniel Jones, Danny Dimes,
any of Jones. He's got so many names now can't
be entered. Daniel Jones was not an afterthought. But it
was widely considered that it was going to be a
battle with Anthony Richardson, right, But we thought he'd be

(10:09):
on the radar somewhere. Same with Sam Darton. We knew
he was the guy in Seattle. How good that was
going to go. I don't think anybody predicted it would
be MVP level like it is right now. But like
Mac Jones, nobody had him. We were not talking about
Mac Jones. It was six months ago. Brock Perdy just
got paid, Yeah, big money and so the thought was,
and even though I it's not the elbow injury that happened,

(10:33):
it's a turf toe now. And there was a general
injury prone nous with brock Perdy where I was like,
you pay him that money, look out and Mac has
done what other people have done within Kyle Shanahan's system,
grabbed it, run with it. And now this team is
six and three and it's one of the best stories
in the NFL right now. And you wonder like where

(10:55):
the next stop is going to be for this guy,
because there's gonna be another team Jets maybe oh interested
might dive into that. Here's another question for him, for
all of y'all too, What the hell's gonna happen with
Kyler murray Man?

Speaker 6 (11:10):
Because you know Brissette comes out and starts bawling out there.
I think you sit down and you have that question
look at it. Go all right, Kyler, what are we
doing here? We need to see it might be one
of those a here going out and prove it. I
don't know, but yeah, what is it that's coming out?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Thanks? Is a call of vooty it?

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yeah, yes, somebody took your queue and ran with that.
Because Twitter's blowing up.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
I saw the guy where he's like PanicIn depress, the
two buttons.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Kyler of course a big video gamer. Uh, there's a
big premiere of one of his favorite video games coming
out right in line with his injured reserve designation here.
I do think that, like, if you're the Jets, right,
look at what Aaron Glenn has come from. Look at
his dynamics in terms of his resume as a coach.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
I woke up.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
He worked with that guy. Yeah, you know who that
guy is, Big old Dan Campbell.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
Who, by the way, Dan Campbell coaching tree.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
No, it's a coaching tree, but it's a huge tree
to Redwoods trees got Gasolina. When you look at like
Dan Campbell, you look at Dan Campbell's ultimate influence, which was,
among others, Bill Parcells, Sean Payton was a part of
that tree. These guys all have something in common, and

(12:32):
I think this is instructive when we look ahead, and
maybe it's the draft for the Jets. But each time
these guys got into coaching situations, they wanted veterans. Parcels
wanted veterans. In New York, he wanted a veteran obviously
with the Jets, he brought in Vinnie Testaverde. With the
Cowboys they had Quincy Carter. Then they went back to

(12:54):
Vinnie testa Verdi, then they went to Drew Bledsoe, and
then eventually Tony Romo, who by then was a veteran
although he had started look at Dan Campbell. What did
they do? Did they draft one? No? No, Jared Golf
traded for Jared Goff. He's been great ever since. So
I think we got to be careful to assume that
with all these picks they have right that they won't
go out and try to find somebody the next version

(13:15):
of what we've seen. Yeah, maybe it is Kyler.

Speaker 6 (13:18):
I mean, you want to go on the veteran move, Like,
I don't know, there's a guy I can think of
that might retire next year that could potentially go to
the Jets and be a great veteran there in the pocket.
You know, you got Aaron Rodgers, it's going to be
a free agent next season.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
I think there's a little conflict there when it comes
to the the way it ended with Aaron Glenn with
Aaron Rodgers, the two Aarons butting heads. Yeah, as Aaron
Rodgers reportedly had to fly all the way across.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Country just to be all that, yeah, yeah, just to
be fired walked in. It was a two minute conversation
or something.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I've never had to go through that, thank God. Maybe
into work, but not cross country anyway. I digress here.
What do y'all think about Kyler Burry? What do you
think about the Jets? Would that be a fit? What
about Mac Jones? Would that be something that's in the division?
They've seen Mac before? The macover Kyler Murray? Man, I

(14:10):
just I don't know.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
You've already got Justin Fields there, and I don't know
what you really do him with that.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I mean, I think Kyler is a better passer than Justin.
I think he is. I think that Justin Fields thing
just isn't it isn't it isn't working. I like the guy,
but man, nobody can get him to play the way
he needs to play. Say that I like the guy,
but that's that's Justin Fields. He needs to go to Minnesota,
Minnesota or the Rams. San Francisco would be a possibility.

(14:35):
I'd be interesting. Where is Trey Lance right now?

Speaker 7 (14:37):
He got Chargers?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Is that where it is? Is that?

Speaker 5 (14:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Is that where he got traded to. Yeah, that is
such a bizarre sequence that they traded all the way
up and they wanted mac Jones ultimately, but they end
up taking Lance. Now Jones is there in San Francisco.
The game tonight is interesting. We're gonna make our picks
later in the show. It's the Vegas Raiders and the
Denver Broncos, and we're also gonna play a little game
called where They're going to be in three years? Three

(15:01):
each of the NFL quarterbacks and decide, right, where are
they going to be in three years? I like it.
Let's go to the ingle sideline, Welcome into game on
good afternoon.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
Hey guys, joh Trey, good to talk to you, guys.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Hey jas Man, you know.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
This is a tough one, man. I mean, you know,
I love sports, and you know I love sports talk radio,
but you know, some things just transcend the moment, you know,
and you know, look, I'll be perfectly honest with you.
I don't remember the young man's name, right, I don't

(15:39):
know him as a player. I'm not familiar with them,
but you know, like you you know, I deal with
depression on a daily basis, and you know I have
in my you know much younger days, had issues with
with substance abuse and you know, things along those lines,

(15:59):
to the point that you know, I have seen far,
far too many people die. I've seen I've buried too
many friends, too many loved ones. And you know, you
you brought up the the Javon Belcher incident, and you're

(16:21):
exactly right. A couple of days before game day, you know,
there was an incident where you know, he and and
the mother of his child were fighting over something and
the mother in law got involved, and you know it,
it ended up in in a murder and and suicide,
uh you know, situation where he literally uh took his

(16:44):
own life there in the parking lot at Arrowhead in
front of the coaches, and you know, uh CTE and
mental health issues and all of those things. You know,
I think that I think that we've come a long, long,
long way in the last you know, twenty years, thirty

(17:04):
years in destigmatizing to some of these issues. But I
really think, you know, especially when it comes to men
and especially when it comes to that that that sports.

(17:24):
I don't know, I don't know how I'm going to
get into this, but but you know that that kind
of macho. You know what I'm talking about. It it's
that that that whole you know, we're we're big, strong, giant,
strapping guys. And you know, whether we played the game
or we just love the game, you know, we get
we get that that kind of do it all by

(17:45):
yourself or you know you're weak, you know, handle it,
deal with it, you know, get get get.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
By yep, tough it up. And no one cares hear
that a lot, No one cares that.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Work harder, yeah, you know, and I just I just
want to remind everybody that's listening that, you know, please
don't ever say that again. Please don't say tough it out.
Please don't say hey, hang in there, hey, you know,
just just deal with it. Be a man, man. Don't
you know when you catch yourself saying these things, stop yourself.

(18:20):
You know, you've got to be You've got to be
conscious about it. Man, You've got to just think. You
know that that may not be what somebody needs to
hear right now, and frankly, it's really never what somebody
needs to hear. Let's stop reinforcing that. You know, it
takes strength to be a man. You you have to
be you know, quiet and reserved and keep your stuff

(18:42):
locked in, man, talk about it, because I'm telling you
right now, I get better every day when I talk
about the issues that I struggle with, and you know,
I will lock those things away, those emotions, those fears,
those those concerns and all that. And I'm I know
I can't do this all day long. I know that
you guys got to talk sports, and.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
I know it, but we have all day long. This
is an important subject.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
It is it is, and it's a hell long reportant.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
And then making our picks. I can tell you that, honestly,
I think Jay, where I can chime in on this
a little bit is you know, since I was a teenager,
I have dealt with depression, clinical depression, and I didn't
really realize it until I was in my early twenties.
And I've had such a great support system with my wife,
with my dad, my mom who has since passed, but

(19:32):
now my new mom, Laurie, and my entire family, even
my children, and it's gotten much better. And never did
it rise to the level where I felt as helpless
as I would assume Marshawn Neeland felt last night. And
I'm blessed for that but it is that fog that
creeps up once in a while, and you're right until

(19:52):
we and I think it's gotten a lot better over
the past couple of decades. Boy, when I was growing
up in high school, it was like that.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Like you know what, Oh you didn't talk about it.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Oh you're afraid to you're afraid to even address it.
It was ripe for the bullying, and it was ripe
for being called weak. And now we all have to
see these stories and absorb them in a way, I believe,
not only to make ourselves better, whether we deal with
it directly or not, because we all know somebody who's
in a darker place than we are. And you're right
about what you say to people that are going through something.

(20:25):
Sometimes it's better to say nothing if you can't say
the right thing. Sometimes if your idea of this is
going to be well, you know, no one cares. Tough
it out. Be a man, grow up. Look, we all
have responsibilities and obligations. But boy, when you fight two
battles at once, which is trying to be a grown
man or a grown woman in this world, an adult
or even a child or an adolescent, and you're tackling

(20:47):
fifty thousand responsibilities, and on the other side, you've got
this demon on your shoulder that you're trying to fight
off every single day. You're doing double the work. It
doesn't make people in that class special. It just makes
it that much harder to fight something that's invisible, that
nobody can see. Nobody can look at it and say, wow,
that looks like it hurts because it's all from within.
And I appreciate your candor, Jay, it means the world.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Well, you know, I have I have tried to teach
I mean not teach people. That's gonna sound condescending, and
I don't mean it that way, but I've tried to
explain to people. You know, I think that that we
need to get into the habit of asking people are
you okay?

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Right?

Speaker 5 (21:29):
Four letters? Are you okay? And I mean, you know,
how are you doing? How are you? I mean, that's
that's that has turned into hi, right, how you doing?
I'm good? It's automatic, right, It It elicits an automatic response.
But are you okay is a completely different question. It's

(21:50):
out of the it's outside of the norm. It's it
makes you stop and it hopefully asks you to speak,
you know, and I mean when you're thinking tough it out,
when you're thinking, hey, be a man, instead just ask
are you okay? Because you know, I mean it again,

(22:13):
giving people the easy out, making it comfortable. How you doing,
I'm fine. I mean, we'll lie to ourselves and we'll
lie to each other all day long. But when somebody
asks you are you okay? It lets you know that
that person is there and listening to you. They're listening
for a response, because that's not a typical question. It's
not a question that people ask all the time, you know.

(22:35):
It just we need to get back to, or into,
I guess, a different culture in this country and in
this world. And I think that you know, we spend
so much time beefing ourselves up and protecting ourselves and
and you know, building this this shell around us that

(22:55):
you know, we just we never take the time to
just look at ourselves ask how we really feel ourselves,
you know, And it's it's it's just so important, man,
And it sucks that it takes something like this to
bring it out. But at the end of the day, man,
I mean, there is something more important to me than

(23:19):
than football, than the Chiefs, than than the playoffs or
than any of that stuff. And it's and it's ay, John,
are you okay to me? That's more important? Man? I
you know that is that far out weighs the score, Yeah,
you know, or or or the you know the box
score or or you know the the daily stats and
all of that stuff. So man, I'll cut it off there.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
That was so well said, Ja and Jane. I'm not
going to call you chiefs Jay today. This is Jay
from Goodwill Industries and it's Jay, who is a great
friend of mine, a great friend of Trey's, a great
friend of this entire iHeart and Engles family. And you're
very very brave for speaking out as you do, and
we need more people like you on this line like that.
I appreciate you so much, friend.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
I appreciate you. Brother. Keep doing what you're doing, and
you know, listen, seriously, guys, if you're listening right now,
call somebody I don't care who. Call somebody that you know,
Call another man that you know, and ask them how
they're doing, ask them what's going on in their lives,
and just have conversations that are uncomfortable because they will

(24:23):
make us more comfortable over time. Thanks, guys, have a
great one.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
All right, Jay well said man Jay out in the
Upstate and Jay Handler, that's his name. He's from Goodwill Industries,
is one of our partners here and he's also a
huge Chiefs fan. And that's the intersection of sports in
life of real life where we are right now, and
we're going to hit a break here when we come back.
We'll continue to dive into sports as best we can.
Eight six four two four zero five four eight zero.

(24:49):
Thanks for being with us today here on Game on
Okay Live from the Ingle Studios. We are Game on
Welcome back in It's John and Tray Paulie Walnut's falcon
talking a little football now. Put getting back into the
world of sports is we've got a lot to get
to here. We're gonna be playing a game in just
a few short seconds. Where they're going to be in

(25:10):
three years easy enough, and hopefully all of us in
three years will be in a better place than we
are now. We're all working towards being better. This on
the news that we talked about earlier, the unfortunate, timely, untimely,
i should say, passing of Marshawn Neeland, twenty four years young.
It's a suicidal death, and it's something that we have
opened up the lines for you to talk about. Jay

(25:30):
has talked about his struggle with his battles before and
so many he is known, but we want to keep
it light as well. We want to be able to
pivot back into what we had formatted to do today,
which is in large part making you smile, giving you
something to laugh about. Maybe because we are just stupid
sports talkers at the end of the day, we have
no idea what we're talking about. We're like making guesses

(25:51):
the rest of everybody else that does this, that gets
a microphone, we're just throwing those darts that we're blind
as hell or hopefully they land on the right spot.
And we've been asking the question too, like the Jets,
what do they do moving forward with their quarterback situation
when they have all these draft picks? Do they go
the retread route? Right? Maybe? You know, like you've seen
these teams, like the Colts, they decided, okay, let's have

(26:13):
an open competition between a Danny Dimes and a Richardson.
And obviously Richardson can't stay healthy for more than well
a couple of seconds. Yeah, find a fault. It's Indiana
Jones season.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
The Colts is actually a really interesting team to look
at compared to the Jets because Aaron Glenn comes from
that tree of We just talked about it, but that
Dan Campbell smash mouth hit him in the face.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
We want to run the ball.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
And I mean, granted, Danny Dimes, Indiana Jones, whatever you
want to call him, is playing really well. Yeah, but man,
that run game is cooking, and it allows somebody like
a Dandy Dimes to go out there.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
And cook as well.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
I could see, you know, you could take something a retread,
something like a MATC.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Jones.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
You put a good running game together there, you get
a couple of draft picks. You start building that the trenches.
Maybe it's not gonna happen overnight.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
No, I don't think it's gonna happen overnight, but I
think it's something to look forward to in terms of forecasting,
where these teams will be taking a look at what
the playoff picture would look like today. And you know, Paul,
I'm gonna make you sick here again with what the
Steelers are looking at. At least they're in the playoff
picture right now. They're sniffing around, sniffing around, here's how
it would look. Indy right now would have the one

(27:17):
seed at seven and two. Patriots would be the two
seed at seven and two. Not a lot has changed
since last weekend, but a few things have. Denver's the
three seed at seven and two. They played tonight, by
the way against the Raiders, Picks coming up later. And
the Pittsburgh Steelers are at five and three. They're the
four seed at five and three. Your three wild cards

(27:37):
are Buffalo, Chargers Jacksonville. So here are your current NFC
I'm sorry, AFC playoff matchups. Jacksonville at New England, battle
between Duvall and Brabell. Who would smack the Duvall right
out of his mouth? Please? Chargers who would take on Denver.
That'd be a saucy matchup. And of course, for the
third straight week, Pittsburgh would draw Buffalo. I think it's

(27:59):
just written in the cards at this point. They're gonna
play Buffalo this year. It's gonna happen. It's gonna the
limp into the playoffs like they always do. Old man
Tomlin with the gray and his beard. They'll get there
and here comes peak Josh Allen. Finally they put it
all together for a forty one to ten playoff win
at after Sure Stadium.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
You know, I saw I think it was a Yenzer
posted on Twitter and they had a really good theory
about the Pittsburgh Citiers.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
They're just old men. They don't play well at night.
They're tired. We were talking about this last night. By
the way, happy birthday Andrew. Yesterday. We had a good
birthday night. Uh he's seventeen now. But around the dinner
table we were having some cake and talking about this night,
said who's the dustiest team in the NFL. We brought
the Commanders. Yeah, And then my son was like the Steelers,

(28:44):
I mean, it's not wrong. It's got you got some
old heads, not only on that staff, but on that team. Rodgers,
I mean, he's right there at the forefront of them.
He's playing good football. People get down on him about well,
you know, short area passing. It's like it what he's
been asked to do. That's what you know, one of
bombs away. You're not going to play that type of
game in the NFC. Philly still has the one seed

(29:05):
right now. Then you got Tampa at two, Seattle three,
Green Bay is four. Your three wild cards. The Rams
the Niners the Lions. The seven to two matchup would
be Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay. I'm get
any better. It's everything you dream. Oh my goodness, Baker
Mayfield against Dan Campbell. That would feed generations. Yes, San

(29:26):
Francisco would take on Seattle right now in the six
to three matchup. That'd be a saucy matchup. And then
the Rams would be at Green Bay if it all
ended today. And don't look now, kids, but the Carolina
Panthers are a half game back of that seventh seed.
We're chasing the Lions right now.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
So I thought about you because Rich pulled a stat earlier.
I think of since October h what is it x
amount of games played?

Speaker 1 (29:51):
There's these quarterbacks are.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
I think undefeated or five and oh or whatever it
is four to oh, and one of them happens to
be one Bryce Young. Bryce Young because technically he didn't
lose that game against the Bills.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
He did.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Rocket.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
No, it was Chad's buddy, the Red Rifle, the Red Rocket.
One of the things Chad has gotten wrong all season long,
by the way, has been his affinity for Red Rocket,
who looked like well, he looked like an old man
out there. It was like Antique, that's sorry, the anti
Gartillery did not perform that day. And and Rich is right.

(30:24):
He is undefeated dating back to when he got that
first win of the season and did set out that
Buffalo game. But they got to get more out of him. Like,
this is a big moment for Carolina too. We were
talking about this on the Tailgates show up there at
ninety nine seven the Fox last weekend. And yeah, they
did win against Green Bay and they put together in

(30:46):
an excellent game plan that limited Bryce's exposure. Yeah, because
you've got this psycho Micah Parsons out there that's ready
to just wreck your whorld, right, and they took the
game away from Parsons by taking the game to him.
In the running game, they made Rico Dowdell, who is
slowly becoming my favorite Carolina Panther of all time the

(31:07):
two pumps. Yeah, yeah, he starts to go fund me
now he actually legitimately start twenty thousand dollars he's raised
so far for charity. Oh, for charity, Okay, good done,
Yeah for charity. No, not from s He's like, what
it's the two Pump fund. But he's got to get
more involved in terms of making bigger plays in the

(31:29):
passing game. I think that's coming eventually. I think they're
easing it back in. He's had the high ankle sprain.
Their defense has been cooking in the run game especially.
They are hosting Asante Samuel for a visit, so maybe
he joins the cornerback room with J. C. Horne. It's insurance. Yeah,
and it all runs through Rico Dawdle right now, like
the spark he has given this team, even if they

(31:53):
don't make the playoffs, it's so cool to be right
here in November again as someone who covers this team
and we all we all love the team in one way,
shape or form. I know my kids love the team
and they've never seen them in November be relevant.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
Yeah, they're fun right now. They're fun.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
It's like a fun rebuild like we talked about with
what's going on in New York. Oh yeah, yeah, this
is more fun because we have five wins. They have
two wins. But it was fun when they had Skataboo
and Jackson Dark together and neighbors, and now they've only
had one left. But Dowdell has been so much so
Central to the fun part of that story because he's

(32:27):
running like a demon out there. He's a funny guy
in the locker room. We've played that interview before that
I've had with him. We're not going to play it
again because you've heard it a couple of times already.
But we talked to him at training camp, and you know,
he is just full of energy, full of life. And
I asked him the question, you know, look, you're coming
here obviously with Chuba Hubbard on the roster, who's coming

(32:48):
off an eleven hundred yard season, you were a thousand
yard rusher, you had your pick of the litter and
free agency. And he talked about, among other things, the
local connection, played high school football in Ashville, Grupp and Gaffney.
It was cool. I was talking to him and I said, well,
I'm live up in Bowling Springs, A number nine, yeah,
number nine. Yeah. And I'm not giving it much thought

(33:09):
of the time because Tyrico is a very good football player,
and that's how I looked at it that point. And
he was an available interview for a one on one
that day. But I don't think two months ago any
of us were thinking, Okay, he'd be the leading rusher
in the NFC. No, No, he's been on a tear
this team over the last five games. His rush for
eight hundred yards. Good lord, Yeah, that's what Steelers are
trying to do. I know, right, So this team in

(33:31):
Carolina was trying to do for ages and they finally
found the formula. So we will continue to see. But
that's the current look at the playoff picture. When we
come back, let's go ahead, make our picks for Week ten.
Let's do that. Get those picks in, we'll start picking
the games, and if we have time, we'll play uh
where they're gonna be in three years. If we don't
have time, we'll do that tomorrow, and we're gonna decide
we're each of these starting quarterbacks and some of the

(33:52):
backups right now will be in three years from now?
What's our best estimate? Will they be the franchise quarterback still?
Will they be out of business? Will they'd be backing
up somewhere? Did you see the story today about Kirk Cousins. Uh? What, No,
I mean I know he got he got paid, Yes, yeah,
ninety million guaranteed went into his bank account because he

(34:12):
met that deadline. Well, I know the agent a little bit.
He's old Luther Browton's old agent. Mike McCartney. Yeah, McCartney,
the son of the late great Bill McCartney, who coached
Colorado years ago. Mike McCartney is the uh, he's the designer.
He's the orchestrator of one of the great fleecings of
all time, which is Kirk Cousin's entire career. Yeah, we'll

(34:35):
talk about that in much much more. It's game on it.
It's John and Trey. We're having a good time. Joined
the party eight six four two four zero five four
eight zero.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Game on with John Alice, weekdays four to six. What
a far nine Fox Sports up State. I can't come down,

(35:07):
Miss Benning, Round running round round.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Where it stops? Nobody news.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Time, having a good time here.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
It's game on. I'm John, that's Trey. Join the party
two four zero five four eight zero. We're going to
make some picks here in a little bit. This just
in Antonio Brown. Did you see this? He was apparently
extradited and has been arrested for something. We'll give you
some more updates on that. It's been a strange newsday, obviously,

(35:42):
the the sad news out of Denver. Uh the untimely
demise of Marshawn Neeland, who took his own life last night.
And uh, once again, just a reminder to those out
there that are dealing with something anything, or if you
know somebody that's dealing with someone, if you need emotional supporter,
you know somebody that needs it, reach out to the
National Mental Health Hotline. The number is nine eight eight.

(36:05):
You're not alone, and make sure you remember that if
you or someone you love or know is going through
anything that resembles anything like what happened to Marshall Neelan.
We use this platform as a reminder too, you know,
to help you in any way we can. And it's
a small piece of help. But that's just a little
PSA for you out there. Shifting back to sports, a

(36:26):
little levity is okay on day like today, And we
do have a clip of I believe it's Jalen Phillips
is yeah, who played for years with the Miami Dolphins.
Here is Jalen Phillips responding to being traded away from
the Dolphins and now he's a member of the defending
World champions.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
I mean, I thought I was excited at day one.
I mean, talk to me now, like this is literally
the greatest thing that's happened to make a model life, probably,
but this is awesome. Maybe the guys are awesome. Everybody's
my super welcoming and I love the environment here. I
love live Yere with City of Phillies giving me I
was very young to welcome. I got about twenty times
the amount of Instagram likes that I ever got in

(37:05):
a post before from the Hilly Francis shots a way,
but yeah, it's been very so far getting out their faction.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
I love the weather here.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
I love the locker room.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Everyone's talking about positive vibe infusion for Jalen Phillips, who,
by the way, has had a very good career down
there in Miami. But it goes to show you like
on on trade deadline day and we oftentimes talk about
these athletes like their widgets they are. We've had Luthor
Broughton and Scott Schandley and so many NFL guys on
the show before Ricco Daddle's been on the show. We've

(37:36):
talked about, you know this with these guys, the human
side of it, and there it is right there on
a funny note, like, man, this is the greatest day
of my life, and he started talking about everything that
comes with that. I go like twenty times the Instagram
I hated Miami. That's what he could have said. That's
what I was thinking about a five second clip. It's
always like, you know, thanks to Miami. You know, those

(37:57):
players always send out this, you know, lovely Instagram post.
Oh yeah, thank you, peace out. I enjoyed my time
for blah blah blah. No they really should say is
thank god I'm not here anymore. Thank you. Guys like
Brice Hall mention him during the bridge. Yeah, one out,
don't give me. Let me in going up to every
scene that has a chance to do something good this year.
Please let me in. The woody Woody, trade me The

(38:21):
Prince walking back into the house and he's looking around.
All of his friends are gone. Yeah, except for Garrett Wilson.
Somehow he stayed. Garrett and Brice Hall are the last
men standing. Uh with the Jets is the Quinn Williams
among others and Sauce Gardner YEP have been dealt away
on the trade deadline day. Let's fire up the band.
Let's start making a few picks here before we hit

(38:42):
the top of the hour. It's week ten of the
National Football League, and boy, we've got some games to
examine and look at and decide who's going to win.
And you know, Chad's already going to make his picks.
I thought about getting him on here as a celebrity picker,
but you know he's out there doing a man. I
don't know what. You know, Chad will make your picks
in due time and then we'll go change our picks
to what the copies homework. At this point, we can't

(39:05):
because we have to make up twenty games. No, yeah,
we have to almost pick the opposite just hoping he
has a slump heer. All right, Here we go Week
ten and the National Football kicks off tonight. It's the Raiders.
They're two and six. They could easily be in four
and four right now. They've lost a lot of close games,
including one heartbreaker last week where Gino Smith had his
receiver open in overtime to win the game and it

(39:27):
got deflected. And those the Broncos seven and two. They're
at home. This game is on al Michael Jean Primes video.
Sleep your howl is gonna be hopefully not too sleepy.
Tonight eight fifteen kickoff. Who you got Trey.

Speaker 6 (39:42):
I have the Denver Broncos, but I could see something
crazy happening tonight and the Raiders went upset.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
But I feel more comfortable with the Denver Broncos than
I gotta catch up to Chad. So yeah, I was
gonna say, yeah, I'm with you on Denver. Their defense
has been outstanding. Oh yeah, they're on a record pace
for sacks. Right now. You've got Nick Benito, Jonathan Cooper,
Zach Allen, all these guys that are rushing the passer.
I think they're going to make life a little uncomfortable
for one Geno Smith tonight and asking genty he hasn't

(40:11):
gotten the motor running.

Speaker 6 (40:12):
No, he hasn't, even after the stance change.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Even after the stance change and Mike Myers and Halloween
is now gone. Yes, he'ssed the boat. He he missed the boat.
He gets to do all of his good work in
the month of October. Now it's November. I don't think
it's gonna happen from the night. But we'll see the
Broncos win tonight. We both got them all right, here
we go. Oh, it's a nine to thirty wake up
call in Berlin. The Atlanta Falcons, who are banged up

(40:36):
on the offensive line right now taking on the Indianapolis Colts.
No DeForest Buckner for the Colts. He's not traveling with
the team. But they're coming off a loss to your Steelers.
You got to scout that team out pretty good. Oh yeah,
last week the Falcons three and five. Right now, I'll
pick this one first. Andy. By the way, if you're
picking on the spread, they're a six and a half
point favorite as you stand right now, we're picking them

(40:58):
straight up here, I'm gonna go the Colts. The Falcons
are a tough out. Look, We've seen them play all
sorts of different type of football. They've been shut out
by the Panthers thirty to nothing. They have beaten the
Buffalo Bills. They also lost to the Patriots by a
single point. But what the Colts do so well is
they eliminate the run game on defense. They now have
Sauce Gardner to lock up Drake London. Yep, Colts by

(41:21):
seven in this game. Yeah, give me the Colts. All right.
Here we go Giants and the Bears, And look, I
don't know what to make of the Bears quite yet.
Tim shout out to you for listening. Greg and Honey
a Path a big Bears fan by the way, we
found out yesterday. I'm gonna take the Bears here. They're
four and a half point favorites. I'll take them straight up
here in this game. It's at Chicago. If Scatabu was

(41:43):
in this game, I give him a shot. I just
I don't like the matchup. I like what they do
up front in the pass rush game the Giants, and
I like Jackson Darts, moxie and his playmaking skills. I'm
just not sold that they can take it at the
distance with the Bears. I'll take Chicago to win up
in a deep dish.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
Sheaty give me Old bald Day Bowl in that Jackson
Dark Giants. Seriously, Yeah, I'll go contrary on this one.
I'll take the Giants.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
I was leaning that way for a minute. It would
be an upset, but they've been close a few times
this year. Yeah, two and seven versus five and three.
We'll get one more pick in here before the break, Bills, Bills,
you can probably get two picks in. Wait a minute.
If Action Jackson's listening out there, he's gonna be offended.

(42:30):
Maybe he wouldn't. Maybe be like, yeah, go go ahead
the weekend, baby, It's gonna be a rough weekend baby
for the Dolphins, who hosts the Bills at one pm.
The Bills have had a couple of stumbles down there
in Miami, but overall, Tua and that offense has never
looked great against Buffalo and Sean McDermott's defense. I know
you pretty picked Buffalo. It's a nine and a half

(42:52):
point spread. I'll take him straight up to win this
game on the road. And look, I think a big
part of the reason is James Cook, they running back
for Buffalo, who is hitting that motor running right now.
It's a big game for them too, because if they lose,
it's another divisional loss, right they can't afford a second
divisional loss because they already lost New England earlier this season.

(43:13):
We'll pick New England coming up next. They've got an
interesting game this week on the road against an NFC team,
and also a few other games including Carolina will be
at that game. By the way, I'm taking my kids
to that game this weekend. Yeah, for Andrew's birthday. Shout
out to Bill and Lorielli's for the tickets on that
We appreciate you little birthday gift for Andrew. Happy seventeenth,
my boy. We'll see you in a little bit. We're
brought to you by Ingles Low Prices, Love the Savings.

(43:35):
We're taking your nominations on this one. Who would you
rather have to make a big time catch at the
end of a game? Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson? You
can say a host of others, but who are you
picking of those two? Who would be the guy? Eight
six four two four zero five four eight zero is
the number. And don't forget Ingles has you covered for

(43:57):
all you need for an exciting weekend of football, whether
you're homegating, where are you're tailgating, wherever you're gonna be
all weekend long stopping and see our good friends at
Ingles Markets you can stock up on all those good
snacks and goodies and tailgate needs for your Week ten

you covered Low Prices, Love the Savings with our good

(44:18):
friends at Ingles dash markets dot Com. Coming up next
more NFL chatter. We're going to continue to make picks
for Week ten in the NFL and your calls as well.
This is game on, and we're back right after this
act for sure stadium? Did you have a nickname for
that ctadium? You can pay him out at Barston.

Speaker 5 (44:36):
What have you got?

Speaker 1 (44:37):
Hit by Trump? But again, I'm not taking CJ over
my homes. Let me tell you about Sam darm You
gonna have him right now for a bag of emil
him and it's Philly. It's gonna be Philly. I'm just
a dumb sports talker, but I love to starry up John.
Oh yeah, baby, the weight is over.

Speaker 4 (44:55):
Well, I got pure octane right now.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
I woke up.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
I'm ready finally something to argue about. That isn't your
coworkers fantasy trade proposal or Bryce Young's height. It's game
on with John Ellis and trade Paul Walnuts Falco with
wal to wall NFL action all season long. I am
the new from first snap to final whistle, rookies, revenge

(45:17):
games and questionable calls and absolutely zero patients for your
power rankings. Yeah, kirked over as brought to you by
Ingles Low Prices. Love the savings. Hit The phone line
said two to four zero fifty four eighty. Let's talk
some football. Here's John Alice.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Hey, Well, that'll be enough of playing with the football studio.
Did a little grunks bike. I about took out two computers.
We're good. We're on the air, hopefully engineering and programming.
He's listening right now. We're good. We're all good. We'round
the air. Listen to us. Here. It's a game on.
I'm John Ellison. It's tray Paul Wallat's Falco where we
vent all of our fun and frustrations during the break.
We run a good time out here, Ingles Studios, downtown,

(45:58):
griev Winn A sunset we've got over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Man,
it is a beautiful, beautiful night outside. I hope you
all having a safe ride home. I have a new
big question of the day for you. I went to
the audible bin scratching around in there. The trade deadline
has come and gone to the NFL. If as a fan,
you had to be traded from one team to another,

(46:19):
who would it be, Oh, that's a good one. Who's
in your trade clause? You gotta be traded from your
favorite team to any other team out there in the
same league. Who would it be eight six four two
four zero five four ead zero Or would you simply
just retire.

Speaker 6 (46:33):
Sewn's pretty primed to answer this question. He was traded
earlier this year.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
Yes, we beat the trade deadline with Sean. We got
a valuable member of the Panthers community. Sean out there
in the upstate is now. I mean, you can look
at Chad and say, one of the big storylines of
game on this football season has been Chad's winning picks
for House. You do know it. You've been twenty games
ahead of us basically for the last three weeks in
terms of your picks. Yeah. And Sean he started this

(47:01):
season by saying, well, guys, I'm converting from Commanders to
the Panthers. Yeah, and the Panthers have just been playing
lights out. I was just say, may I won that trade.
I was gonna say, yeah, I think we all won
that trade. If you love Carolina, such is the case
with Sean Man. Sean, if you're listening, give us a
call two four zero five four eight zero Russo it

(47:21):
is the role call. We're picking games in the NFL
right now. I like this too. Before we get back
to it, Mike McDaniel, I don't have the stamina to
listen to his press conference. Yeah, it was another one.

Speaker 5 (47:32):
Of those.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Well, if you're not winning, you're losing. You need to
learn how to win. If you're gonna win, If not,
you're gonna lose. Dolphins are locked in moving forward. According
to bleacher Report, they've removed the Papa Shot basketball game
from the locker room. Oh, come on, not the Papa
Shot after a two and seven start. I can't stand
when teams do this, like when they ground them. Yes,

(47:54):
I can't think it's probably the leadership committee of the team,
like Ravens got grounded a couple weeks ago. Remember that
all the video games out. I think Lamar was behind
that too, was he really Lamar came out and was like, yeah,
I remember that now that that may be a one
time thing where it's actually aligned and worked, But you
can't point to it and say, yeah, we took the

(48:14):
video games out of locker room. Thus we're winning. I
think a big part of the reason they're winning again. Well,
Lamar's healthy, Yeah, he's back. Everybody's healthy again, Rocwan Smith, Coyle, Hamilton.
But like I have rarely seen and if y'all have
seen this, correct me, two four zero five four eight zero.
Rarely have I seen a team at two and seven
say all right, you know what, now it's time to

(48:35):
get down to business. Right, We're taking the Papa shot
away from the locker room, the the ping pong tables here,
these like midweek press conferences. Here, go to an NFL
locker room. You got guys around there, you know, lockers
being you know, interviewed, and then you hear it's the
ping pong table. You gotta be able to relax. And
I'm behind a little bit as an NFL player. It's

(48:58):
a tough business. But apparently Mike McDaniel has just said
it enough is enough and the team has removed the
Papa shot mission probably removed Mike McDaniel too. On the
abbit on Twitter. They need to put in for the
football version of the Papa shot. That's so mean and
great and funny. It's fantastic. That'll fix things, that'll do it. Yeah,

(49:24):
that's what if they did that? What if that a
smart ass coach would do that with sarcast That's something
Parcels would have done, or Buddy Ryan, somebody would have
shown up if their quarterback was playing like Mega Cheeks
and shown up with the ball Papa shot that you
played at Chuck E Cheese. Want to see thirty five reps.
That's right. No, don't even say anything. Just put it
there in the middle of the locker room and just

(49:45):
let him figure it out, like, wait, what the hell
happened to the Papa shot? Why? Oh I'm the quarterback
and I suck right now? Oh man, this sucks. Let's
get back to business and pick some games. Only we've
already picked a handful. Got a big one tonight, We've
already picked. We both had the Broncos beating the Raiders.
That's an eight to fifteen kickoff on Prime Video. All right,

(50:08):
here we go. Panthers are back home. They're hosting the Saints.
I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time
on this one other than to give you some background
on what's going on here. Injury wise, Derek Brown missed
practice today in full. He was limited, but his elbow
is fine, he says. I can also report that Rico
Dowdle and the two pump machine is back at practice healthy,

(50:31):
So that's a good thing. He was dealing with a
groin injury. A lot of inuin do there too. I'm
screen entry, but he's back and he's also raised over
twenty thousand dollars reportedly for this go fundme campaign on
behalf of the two pumps celebration he was fined for
and it's off for charity that notwithstanding, that's a healthy
Panther team coming in. The Saints have just traded away
a couple of their valuable assets, namely Rashid Shaheed, who

(50:53):
has been a nightmare. The one thing that concerns me
is Taysom Hill running the ball out of the wildcat.
He's all given Carolina fits. But I think Carolina wins
a game here. I'm gonna say, by ten points at
home and get the six and four.

Speaker 6 (51:06):
Yeah, I'm not gonna steal a bit, but this is
this is actually a two tounny game that I could
see Carolina.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Yeah, give me Carolina. This is the first time since
they played the Steelers in twenty twenty two. I should
say the Panthers have been a favorite in a game. Really. Yeah,
at all relates at home? Yeah, been a minute. Ravens Vikings,
Oh this is a good matchup now one pm on Fox.
We Lady told you the story about JJ McCarthy who

(51:34):
goes into an alter ego named nine. This is a
real story. He calls himself nine when he gets into
playoff time. They may not score nine points in this game.
The Ravens come in with the defensive performance that they've
been having lately. They got Rokwan back healthy, Kyle Hambleton's back,
and it wasn't nine touchdowns, but it was four touchdowns

(51:55):
last week for Lamar Jackson in that game against Miami.
Give me the rape on the road to get to
four and five and Faco, I know you don't like
that as a Steelers fan, but I just think they're
a little better than Minnesota is right now. Yeah, I
agree with that. I'd take eight over nine. Hi, Hey
took me a minute, but I did hear what you said.

(52:15):
Doan give me the Ravens stupid chill here we go
and more picks? Do we have to do this? When
the Browns and the Jets, Ah, they're the dude, white bull. Dude,
it's definitely a dude, white bull. It is bad. It's
in the middle leans. I'm sure there will be sparse

(52:37):
people in attendance. I'm sure there are plenty good seats
available on stub Hub if you're interested in the trip.
Jets are a disaster right now, but I give Aaron
Glenn a lot of credit. He's got a vision for
this team. They're trying to get things back on track.
They have no more Quinn Williams, no more sauce guard
the Browns. They have Dylan Gabriel. They got a good defense,
Miles Garrett. Of course, I'm gonna take the Jets at home.

(52:58):
I'm ready to buckle up and head out for the
ride with Aaron Glenn. I'm taking the Jets at home.
It's only a two and a half point spread. Cleveland
is favored, but giveing them Jets to upset I guess
upset the Browns. Yeah, technically, yeah, I got that. Wow,
what a what a move? Yeah? Actually I agree with
this one. Give me the Jets.

Speaker 6 (53:16):
It's a gun feeling pick. Really, yeah, I just I
don't know. I Dylan Gabriel, I don't know that. I
nearly believe it. I don't believe in any of these
quarterbacks right now playing in this one, So you can
go anyway.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
I'm just happy as a Panthers guy. Then I'm looking
at this and I'm not one of those teams anymore,
you know how happy? Like I used to look back
at those games and like Oh, the Panthers come in
taking on the one and seven Jets. The Panthers are
two and six. It's like, can we be one of
these teams? It's at least five and four. Now, finally
they're relevant. Look at it. I'm just happy they're having fun. Yeah,
it's big brother and you. Yeah, let's take a call

(53:50):
real quick in the middle of East picks. Go out
to the English hodline. Welcome in to game on.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Make call?

Speaker 1 (53:59):
Oh we got you roked in now? Oh man, what's
on your mind?

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Brother?

Speaker 8 (54:06):
Oh man? We're there, and you pick them trying to
figure out who I'm going big, that's all.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
That's nonsense, nonsense. We know we're in some sort of
Biff Allman act. Wall You've got everything mapped out for
your week ten. We know you do. I just need
to find your picks.

Speaker 8 (54:24):
I ain't posting them yet.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Damn it.

Speaker 8 (54:30):
Started on it. Yeah, that's why I called in.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
Have you even picked the game? All year? Is the
only picks the Panthers else blank? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (54:43):
I picked the Panthers every time. I man, even if
I think they might lose, I'm picking the Panthers.

Speaker 5 (54:49):
Man.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
Should you want to pick some games with us? Right here? Yeah, yeah,
let's go all right, let's back track a little bit.
We've already made our fix. Yeah, Raiders, Broncos, Who you got.

Speaker 8 (55:04):
Broncos?

Speaker 1 (55:05):
All right? Saints Panthers? Do I need even ask? How
many tuddies?

Speaker 3 (55:08):
That?

Speaker 1 (55:08):
That's the question? How many tuddies? Wow, he's all right
on the conservative side. It's fine. Falcons Colts in Berlin
nine thirty am.

Speaker 8 (55:21):
Oh oh, oh, give me the coat. How many the Falcons.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
Give me the coat?

Speaker 8 (55:30):
Who did the coat lose their quarterback?

Speaker 7 (55:34):
Colts?

Speaker 1 (55:34):
No, no, no, he's playing.

Speaker 8 (55:37):
Okay, yeah, give me the coat.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
Anina Jones knows how to travel to Berlin. Yes, his hometown.
Favor the Bena mean yet for that? Oh dear, Let's
steer away and go back to the NFL games. Giants
at Bears. Who do you got, Chad?

Speaker 2 (55:56):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (55:56):
Give me the Bears?

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Man the Bears, Bill's don't Dophins, Bill's Dolphins at Miami.

Speaker 8 (56:04):
Oh, Bils man.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Ravens, Ravens at Vikings.

Speaker 8 (56:13):
Oh, that's a toughy where they are in Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
That's right, yep. Lamar is gonna play.

Speaker 8 (56:22):
Gimme thet get.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
Them Browns and Jets at New York like it matters,
none of them.

Speaker 8 (56:32):
Oh lord, I'm just going this. They got the home
build advantage.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
You know what I hate about the app that we
use for this. It doesn't let you pick a tie,
does it?

Speaker 5 (56:41):
No?

Speaker 1 (56:42):
It doesn't not you should be able to pick a tie.
There's already been a couple of those recents. Yeah, all right,
here we go, Patriots and the Buccaneers. Now we're picking
together again. Okay, so let's let Chad lead off here.
Pats at Bucks, Chad, who you got?

Speaker 8 (57:02):
Where are the playing at Tampa to New England?

Speaker 1 (57:05):
Pat's it Bucks? It's in Tampa. One o'clock CBS.

Speaker 8 (57:12):
Buck comeing off the bar. How long the Patriots to Land?
But I think the Tampa's gonna get them. Bakers a
better quarterback than Mayfield's icy pick?

Speaker 1 (57:25):
All right, who we got? I agree? I have the
Buccaneers in this game.

Speaker 8 (57:29):
Baker is a better quarterback than may I said, Baker's
a better quarterback Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
I'm gonna take may over Mayfield in this game. I'm
gonna take the Patriots on the road. I love what
Mike Rabel's doing with that defense. They have one of
the best run defenses in the league. They'll make the
Tampa one dimensional. The Baker can still cook against any
secondary in the league. But I'm gonna lean New England
here and not just out of my heart, man out
of my head here, all right, Chad, you lead us

(57:57):
off here. The Jags are at the No. C. J.
Stroud this week. It's gonna be the long neck bottle.
Davis and Mills. Davis Mills, Next man up?

Speaker 8 (58:12):
Who you got Lawrence is playing?

Speaker 5 (58:15):
He is?

Speaker 7 (58:16):
He is?

Speaker 8 (58:16):
Yeah, Lawrence is a better quarterback like going with the Jags.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
Yeah, that's the logistical like that, that probably makes the
most sense. Give me the Texans. Oh yeah, next man up,
Davis and Davis Mills, we trust. I'm going Jags here
on the road. Although the Houston defense has been great
this year, they just got nothing on offense and their
quarterbacks out now, all right, Cardinals on a short week

(58:41):
coming off that big Monday Night win at Dallas. They
got Jacoby Brissett in the lineup, Chad, They're at Seattle
against Sam Darnold and company.

Speaker 7 (58:49):
Who we got.

Speaker 8 (58:52):
Gimmis Seattle.

Speaker 1 (58:53):
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I'm gonna go with
the Seahawks here. Yeah, I agree with that. I think
this was one of the underrated teams in the league
right now. They're doing everything so well. All right, this
is a big one now, Oh it's huge the six
and two Rams at the six and three forty nine ers.
It's in San Francisco. Chat it's a four to twenty
five kickoff on Fox and Mac Jones looks to be

(59:15):
starting again this week for the forty nine ers, who.

Speaker 5 (59:17):
We got.

Speaker 8 (59:20):
Oh Man McCafferty playing.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
Oh yeah, Oh, they're working them to death right now,
but amazingly not be stayed healthy.

Speaker 8 (59:27):
Yeah, laying Candlestick, man, give me the Niners stick. What
gear you in, Candlenick?

Speaker 1 (59:40):
They're one hundred miles away in Santa Clara. I haven't heard.

Speaker 8 (59:49):
Liberals.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
That was that content of money? Okay, whould you pick again?

Speaker 8 (01:00:04):
Geez?

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
The election day was the other day. Keep that out
of my shoulders.

Speaker 5 (01:00:09):
Here you go.

Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
I'm gonna go Rams on the road with Stafford just
to blister that secondary.

Speaker 6 (01:00:14):
Yeah, I'm you know, I was going with the forty
nine ers, but I gotta go with the r I
gotta pick against Chad because I gotta catch up.

Speaker 9 (01:00:20):
I know it's he keeps picking on my picks. That's
the sad part about what we are. He's got all
the answers, yet we can't pick with him because you're
so far behind. It's only chance we have Lions commanders, Chad,
it's in Washington.

Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
No Jaden Daniels in this game. Lion's coming up the loss. Here,
you got.

Speaker 8 (01:00:40):
Man get me Dan Cambell and boys. I think they
gonna get them.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Oh yeah, can we all agree on that. Lions got
right now?

Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
I woke up.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
I'm ready. Oh give me some more Dan here, come on,
I got to It doesn't matter if you have one ass,
cheek and three toes. I will beat you round and
give me some more. Come on better, it's everything you
dream more. Dan is gonna take his vengeance out. D
It's Danvers, Dan Bulls Danno Bowl. Yeah, rematch of last
year's playoff game. Oh, they're off for blood. Oh remember

(01:01:10):
the Das what they did do in the playoffs. All right,
here we go. Trey's gonna leave this one off. This
is a great matchup.

Speaker 7 (01:01:16):
Now, I love this.

Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Steelers are five and three. They're traveling out to LA
to take on the Chargers. Jim Harball versus Mike Tom
an old school type of game. There will be a
ton of Steelers fans waving those towels in that stadium.
Let's go with Tray first. Who you got, man, big cat?
Give it him? Steelers by two field goals, two safeties. Yeah,

(01:01:41):
what do you think, Chad? Steelers are Chargers.

Speaker 8 (01:01:45):
A man?

Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
Steers?

Speaker 8 (01:01:49):
I'm going with you straight.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:01:53):
Last week. I bet they gonna come back win this week.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Look, I think this is a vital game to see
where the Steelers really are. Is it Jekyl and hide?
Is it feast or famine? Once again? Defensively, had they
finally fixed something as it did last week against the Colts?
Are they gonna find a way? I have this vision
that Jim Harball is gonna line up without any offensive
tackles and run for three hundred yards against that Steeler defense.

Speaker 6 (01:02:14):
Said Jim Harbaugh was gonna line up a line Joel, Yeah,
he could do it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Jim Harball could a few weeks so it could have
run one hundred yards against the Steelers. Sixty five year
old Schiff Harball there with his jackis yeah, yeah, give
me the Steelers. I do think the offensive line issues
with the Chargers are real. I think between what Herbi
herbec gets more snaps. I think it's the whole crowd

(01:02:40):
was doing nice. Yeah, Sawyer, all those guys. I think
they'll make it hard for Herbert to function within the
pocket and a Monday night g in some good night
games coming up. Hopefully we'll all be able to watch
this one. H On Agenc. It's the Eagles at the Packers.
Eagles are six and two, Packers are five to two
and one. Chad, who you got?

Speaker 8 (01:03:01):
Damn fly Eagles, fly them. Packers didn't show me nothing
last week. They took a woofing. They're gonna take another
one this week.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
I guess give me the Packers because they're gonna catch
up Chad. I'm gonna stand on business. I don't care
if I'm not catching up with Chad. The Panthers laid
out a blueprint, well what you do to Green Bay,
and I think this Eagles team is as well qualified
as any to do it. I know they've been banged
up on the offensive line, but it feels like a
Saquon Barkley coming out party. I could see him going
for one hundred and fifty and two tutties. I think

(01:03:29):
the Eagles win, and I think they win by a tutty.
And a half, maybe two toutdies in this game, Chad.
Forty nine for the tiebreaker? What forty nine points for
the tiebreaker?

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
Chad?

Speaker 8 (01:03:48):
Right, yeah, that'll work, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Picks for Week ten of the NFL, Chad, anything else
on your.

Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
Man?

Speaker 8 (01:04:03):
I don't know. That's pretty sad about that fella in Dallas,
you know us, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know.
I really ain't got much sale and prayers for his family.
I guess it's sad.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
Yeah, Marsha Kneeland who took his own life last night.
Just a horrible, horrible story and just a reminder for
all of us to pray for one another and then
be thinking about one another. And if anybody knows somebody
that's in a spot like that, please get them help
and get yourself help.

Speaker 7 (01:04:32):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
I appreciate the sentiments, Dad.

Speaker 8 (01:04:36):
Yeah, man, oh man, I won't say contract. Congratulations to
my brother bow Man participated in the Special Olympics this morning.
Yeah man, he got him a ninety one and a
one old nine and one strike. He did pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
Whatever, Chad, I didn't know you had a brother. I
got a brother bow really yeah, yeah, I don't have
a brother law name bow right, the boys both both
times three Chad. That's awesome, man.

Speaker 8 (01:05:16):
You know that's a really good organization. Man. If anybody
out there wants something to donate their time or the
money due man looking through the special limit people, Man,
you should see the joy on their face when they're
out there competing. Man, it's nothing like it.

Speaker 5 (01:05:32):
Man, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
Well do you tell Bo we're thinking about it. Man,
we're proud of them. That's awesome. I will say this
before we let you go.

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Bill Ellis has chimed in. He's he's predicting three tuddies
for the Panthers. If Bryce is in and the Moldy
Musket is holding the iPad on the sideline, he's calling
your guy the moldy musket.

Speaker 8 (01:05:55):
For some reason, the hold musket, Holy musket. I don't
like it.

Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
All right, get on out here, man, we'll talk to
you tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (01:06:13):
Alright, big cat man, we're gonna be two then I.

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
We'll be righty Jeoria. That's Chad, the vening machine king
out there. Two four zero five four eight zero the
Molti musket. That's just disturbing in so many ways. More
NFL chatter More college football chatter. When we come back,

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Yeah, we got it?

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Hey John?

Speaker 1 (01:07:47):
Hey, what's going on? Mcdog?

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
This is Rocky.

Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
I know I know the voice. What's going on? BigDog?

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
I want to say this and and this is kind
of in regards to the young man in Dallas. And
I call Richmond's show earlier today, so I'll call yours.

Speaker 5 (01:08:08):
And you know, we never know what.

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
People they may present one thing on the outside, but
we never know what's going on on the inside. I mean,
I've just had my second bout with cancer and I'm
cancer free, thank goodness.

Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
And but I can promise you I've had over the
last year of the year and a half, you have
those thoughts of things. And you know, I mean, I
got two wonderful children, two wonderful grandchildren, and you you
have those and I would never do anything like that.
But you when you're going through chemo and you're going

(01:08:54):
through all these things and and and so on and
so forth, and you you you have the thoughts. But
I mean, he's twenty four years old. But what I was,
what I just want to say is that we to
keep in mind that people may I mean, we're all

(01:09:15):
human and oh gosh, I just I pray and and
to the Lord just to just to h to uh
folks that may be out there that may be dealing
with things internally okay, and and that can that can
present problems. I mean, I mean, you may make all

(01:09:36):
the money in the world, John matter, and you got it,
but if if if your life is not good and
you're not happy, you know, money doesn't mean a thing. Okay,
it doesn't mean a thing.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
Not Sometimes it can, it can, it can complicate things.
I mean, there are so many factors that go into
rocky and your story is a real testimony of not
only dealing with the you know, the challenges of going
through what you've been through with your cancer diagnosis. And
I'm so glad to hear that you're battling and you're
beating it, man, and God bless you for that and

(01:10:10):
the fact you're opening up. It means a lot to
me personally. Yeah, I you know, we all go through something,
and some go through it more than others. But you know,
no one truly figures out this cheat code of life.
There's always something that keeps us back or keeps us down,
and some just have it chemically. Just it's so imbalanced.

(01:10:31):
It's so hard to know what's going on because you
can't see it. You see somebody with a happy face,
a hatchy disposition. Ah, yeah, he's fine, she's fine, nothing's
wrong with them. They've got a great life. More times
than not, that's not the case. I tell you. I
tell you that not as a doctor, but as somebody
who's been through the depths of it. And knows firsthand
what it's like to go through that of Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
A man of life is not easy. It may you
may have everything. You might have the big house and
the car and all that stuff. But you know what,
if you don't have the things inside of us and
you know, I'm gonna get spiritual on you. But if

(01:11:11):
you can, if you can have have something inside of
you that you can in your soul and and and
and and faith and that kind of thing, it means
a lot. Uh you know, Look, God works, God works
at his own pace. Okay, if you're asking him to

(01:11:34):
be in a hurry, I don't know, Well, sorry, good luck,
that's not gonna not gonna work. But if you do
have the faiths and and I'm I don't mean to
go go there, but you're young man, But I just
take that.

Speaker 8 (01:11:49):
Man, I just ate it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
It's awful, but I just wanted to share that.

Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
I appreciate you, man, God bless you, Thank you be
good man. There's our good friend Rocky in the Upstate,
and of course, uh Rockey sharing some of his own
bit of a narrative and story from his own life
as it relates to a little bit of what happened today.
A we all have a unique story to tell in
a unique perspective on the challenges, and I'm always hesitant
to be the first in to say this was mental

(01:12:17):
wellness or mental illness that affected somebody's demise. But in
this case, it's pretty well chronicled that Marshawneeland, twenty four
years old, who died of an apparent gun shot wound
self inflicted. This is according to law authorities out of Frisco, Texas.
There have been reports also from multiple reliable sources, including

(01:12:40):
from the Frisco Police Department, that approximately a few hours later,
it looks like from when the troopers found Nieland's vehicle
crashed southbound Dallas Parkway, Neeland was found with what appeared
to be the self inflicted gunshot wound. During the course
of the search, officers received information the Kneeland quote express

(01:13:01):
suicidal thoughts, according to the report, So yes, there's something
there with a young man that a lot of people
that I know that cover the team, not necessarily close
friends with, but were acquaintance through the business people that
have been on the beat with the Cowboys have posted
thoughts on this, and it's the one thing we always hear.
It's just you never would have guessed it. You never

(01:13:23):
would have guessed, especially after the lights and the glamour
and glitz of the NFL Monday night packaging that is
the NFL, and these guys are lifted up as mythical
godlike creatures, and look, they are human. They are so
very human and so very vulnerable in so many ways.

(01:13:44):
I know this because I speak with these men all
the time, and everybody's built a little bit differently like
we are in the everyday world we live in. But
this man just scored his first NFL touchdown on Monday Night.
And you know, I'm not equitting that in a trivial
way to the real life struggles a lot of us

(01:14:05):
go through. But that's a major milestone in the life
of a football player to get to the NFL, to
be on the biggest stage, and whether you win or lose,
you're scoring a touchdown on special teams and you're thinking
to that point, well, man, the guy has it all
and he looks so happy. And he was by all
accounts known Marshawn Neelan as a guy with always a

(01:14:27):
big smile on his face, and that typically from my
experience going through my own therapy and my own trials
with depression, typically are the people that you need to
be most concerned about in terms of making sure they're okay,
checking up on them, especially if you know them well.
But I appreciate you, not just you Rocky, for coming
on and sharing some of these thoughts on a very

(01:14:48):
sensitive topic to many out there. But Jay, our good friend,
chiefs Jay from Goodwill Industries called in earlier with a
great testimony from his own struggles with depression and the
depths of where you go through with that, and so
many people he have known, he has known through the
years that have that are no longer with us because.

Speaker 5 (01:15:09):
Of that, and.

Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
It does scare me. It's it's a scary thing. It's
a daily battle you go through it. And I'm blessed
to have my support staff at home and at work
and my work community as well. And you know, Falcon
I were talking about it before he headed home just
a minute ago to see his young family. But you know,
we were just talking about the daily struggles we all
go through. And you know, I'm blessed to have a

(01:15:34):
friend like him to work with every single day. And
that's what makes this show I think so wonderful in
so many ways, at least the way we see it is,
it's just dudes hanging out and we're here for one another,
and y'all as well. You can call me eight six
four two four zero five four eight zero is the
number we're praying for Marshawn Neeland's family and everybody within
the Cowboys organization and the NFL. Orbit it's a terrible story.

(01:15:59):
I don't know where the NFL is right now, and
where specifically the ESPN family of networks is right now
with their negotiation with YouTube TV as we pivot back
to the NFL and what's coming up this weekend as
well as college football. But I'm getting a growing sense
that if you do have YouTube TV and you're coming

(01:16:22):
up on a weekend of games, that it's going to
feel a lot like it did last Saturday, where it's
going to feel like an emptied dinner menu, like there's
nothing to choose from, almost nothing to choose from. CBS,
we have a few good ones. NBC will be there
for you. But you know, for those that have not
been aware of this story, YouTube TV, which is owned
by Google and Disney, have been at odds about the

(01:16:43):
carriage fee agreement in terms of, you know, supplying programming
for all of Disney's family of networks there, which includes,
you know, unfortunately for football viewers out there. You know, ESPN, ESPN, two, ABC,
ecc SEC Network, all these networks that are under that umbrella,
and so many more. And now I'm at ESPN dot

(01:17:04):
com just checking out you know, some of the headlines
here in the top left corner where they've got all
the score bugs that we look at right here, you know,
golf leader board, you got your college football matchups, and
then a big bold font right here right beside it,
Big Week on ESPN. Make sure you can watch Fridays
Kansas UNC men's hoops and Saturday's college football Slate on

(01:17:26):
ESPN and ABC. And when I click on that, it
takes me to this link that so many of these
ESPN personalities have been tweeting out. And McAfee had a
bit of a meltdown about it on his own show,
where if you've seen I don't want to put them
all in the same bucket, but you've had I think

(01:17:47):
Greenberg has done this, maybe Chef the did it once.
I think Herb Street was part of this where they're
tweeting out, hey, look and not so many words. If
you want to see all these great games this weekend,
click on the link below. It's like a petition, And
as McAfee said and others did, it's not going to
do a damn thing, it's not. It's just not. At

(01:18:10):
the end of the day, it feels like it's more
on the ESPN side than the YouTube TV side that
we're getting squeezed like this. And it's a damn shame
because again, you look at some of the games that
are coming up this weekend, not just college hoops. We're
gonna get into that a little bit further down the
road this season. NBA has some games as well on
ESPN ABC. But look at the Monday night game coming

(01:18:33):
up in the NFL Packers Eagles. Do we really want
to be scrambling again if you don't have any other
cable providers to be able to watch that game? Do
you really want that? Do you really want to be
dealing with that? As well as the college football slate
that's on this weekend. You've got so many games that
are gonna be right there front and center on those

(01:18:56):
family networks that I know This hasn't applied everybody, but
it applies to a lot of people that you get
entangled in one subscription service and then your left is
a consumer just in a bad place. And there's much
worse going on in the world today than that. I
get that, but just on a fan level, it just sucks.

(01:19:16):
It just really really sucks to have to be going
through this. Here's a look at what's going on this weekend,
by the way, in the top twenty five. In case
you missed it yesterday, Max Chadwick is going to join
us I think next week, but is a cohort at PFF.
Dalton Wasserman was on with us at the end of
yesterday's show. You can now catch Game On in podcast form.

(01:19:37):
Go to the iHeartRadio app look up Game On with
John Lis. You can catch the whole show from yesterday,
including our conversation with Dalton Wasserman from Pro Football Focus.
But the game's coming up this weekend in the ranked
section of college football Top twenty five Northwestern and USC
nine pm on Fox, but some of the games on
the ESPN family networks. If you have YouTube TV, you're

(01:19:57):
gonna have a hard time catching Number five. Georgia Mississippi State.
ABC has the big one this week and probably the
biggest game of the week with number seven BYU at
number eight Texas tech Men, and we do argue that'd
be the biggest of the games. Otherwise you're looking at
Oregon at Iowa that that's actually on CBS, so you'll
be able to watch Dante More and Dan Lennon going
against Iowa on CBS at three thirty. But then you know,

(01:20:21):
Miami has got a must win game against Syracuse at
three thirty on ESPN, Auburn Vandy at four pm. Not
you know watching that if you got YouTube TV, at
least not as of right now. Virginia Wake Forest is
also on ESPN, LSU Alabama seven thirty ABC. So yeah,
it's it's unfortunate, it really is that this is where
we are as consumers right now. But we plow ahead

(01:20:43):
and we figure out how to make the best of it.
Get the get the rabbit ears out. I guess I
actually talk to a friend that did that, like and
the only channel he was out of this market, but
the only channel he couldn't pick up was ABC on
his rabbit ears. Like I did everything I could watch
Monday night football and not have to pay for it
with another app. And then even I went to like

(01:21:05):
I've got for some reason, I subscribe a long time
ago to NFL Plus, which is not that expensive. But
I came to find out in the middle of Monday
night's game, I could stream it on my phone or
my tablet, and I'm trying to stream it and it's
a spinning wheel and it's buffering. It's awful, and my
WiFi is great, and I'm like, the whole world must
be on this thing right now watching this game. Some

(01:21:27):
big games coming up. We'll give you some more headlines
around the NFL when we come back. It's game on.
I'm John Ellis, that's Trey Paul One. Let's Falco step
into the show at eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero on this football Thursday night.

Speaker 7 (01:21:41):
Hey Upstate, John Ellis has your cover.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Yeah, we got it.

Speaker 7 (01:21:45):
Game on one oh four point nine Fox Sports.

Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
Upstate get in on the show at two four zero
fifty four eighty.

Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
We're coming out home stretch here on a Thursday night.
Good to be with you. Game en rolls on, as
we do every single weekday, live from these Ingles Studios
downtown Greenville, pitch black dark outside. We had a great
sunset a minute ago. We've got this great view of
the Blue Ridge Mountains and it's just a great sunset
this time of year where they air is so thin
and crisp, and it's looking like, according to our good

(01:22:21):
buddy Chris Justice, we're gonna be getting some colder temperatures
coming up around Monday. I know the game time forecast
for the Panthers game, and I'm gonna be there with
my kids. I'll be doing my work responsibilities for iHeartRadio
covering this NFL team that has captivated the Carolinas once again.
It's just great timing, not just professionally, but personally. I've
been so anxious to see this team do well for

(01:22:44):
so many people I love that love this team that
have not seen the greatness that can be playoff football,
and that would include my children. And they're gonna be
there watching that game. But the temperatures are gonna be
in the seventies, it looks like here in not only
the Upstate but Charlotte for around kickoff of that game.
But it's gonna get down to like the thirties that night.

(01:23:04):
So we're getting to that time of year where the
chill is in the air. It's my favorite time of
year to be honest with you, and we're very blessed
to have one another. If in case you have missed
a majority of the show, we have spent a good
portion of our program talking about the terrible, awful, heartbreaking
news out of Dallas where Marshawn Kneelan, the second round
pick from last year that has just celebrated one of

(01:23:27):
his great moments of his career on Monday night scoring
a touchdown, took his own life last night. And you
don't speculate too much on what led to that or
what did not lead to that, but we have had
an open discussion today about you know, what mental illness
and mental health and mental wellness means to you and
if you've ever been through something like that with someone
you love, and I have no shame and take no

(01:23:52):
I have no reservations I should say, and taking calls
with you guys opening up and Rocky, I appreciate you.
Chad as well, Jr. Good friend had some thoughts on that,
and we got a few more minutes. If you guys
want to chime in about that or anything else going on.
In sports, We're here for you two four zero five
four eight zero. Some things to look out for in
Week ten of the NFL. Below are the players in

(01:24:15):
teams right here listed that can set historic MARKSI reach
career milestones this week. Lamar Jackson, Drake May, Justin Herbert,
and Aaron Rodgers, among others. Let me give you the
scoop on Lamar Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson, in his first
ninety nine starts has twenty one forty five passing yards,
sixty two hundred and fourteen rushing yards, two hundred twelve

(01:24:36):
touchdowns combine on one hundred three point five passer rating.
Those are some numbers right there. Lamar, with a win
in his one hundredth career start on Sunday at Minnesota,
Ken surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Kenny Stable for
the fourth most wins by a quarterback in their first
one hundred career starts, only trailing the following Mahomes Brady

(01:25:01):
and fellow Hall of Famer Roger Stallback. It has been
a remarkable career so far for Lamar Jackson, and he
gets overlooked sometimes because of all of the Mahomes hype
that has been well earned. Josh Allen has been right
there in the center of this. Joe Burrow has had
his moments. How about Drake Maythough. With at least two
hundred passing yards and a passer rating of one hundred

(01:25:23):
or higher on Sunday at Tampa, may can become the
second player in an NFL history to record at least
two hundred passing yards and a rating of one hundred
or higher in nine consecutive games. Only the second player.

Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
To do that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
The only other person who's done it is Aaron Rodgers.
Unbelievable stuff from him. Justin Herbert another player that's starting
to emerge as one of those guys that, hey, he's
not just a social media quarterback as people have called him.
He's a real legitimate player. Justin Herbert total three touchdowns
last week, his fiftieth career game with multiple touchdown passes.

(01:25:59):
With two touchdown passes on Sunday Night Football against Pittsburgh.
This week, Herbert can surpass Peyton Manning for the fourth
most games with at least two touchdown passes by a
player in his first six seasons. Here's the list of
those in the first six years of playing football. Mahomes
had fifty eight and multiple toudy games, Marino had fifty eight,

(01:26:22):
Herbert fifty. Right now, Allen has fifty four, and Peyton Manning.
Of course, we mentioned Eim earlier tied there with Herbert
right now with fifty all time. Obviously, Peyton Manning will
not be going back to throw anymore. Can't say that
about Aaron Rodgers. He's still going strong on the plus
side of forty. He's tied for third in the NFL
with seventeen touchdown passes this season, quietly, quietly tied for

(01:26:44):
third with two tudies. On Sunday against the Chargers, he
can surpass Peyton Manning for the third most games with
multiple touchdown passes in NFL history. The only people who'll
be ahead of him at that point Tom Brady and
Drew Brees. Manning and Rodgers are tied for multiple touchdown
passing games at one sixty five. Think of the longevity

(01:27:08):
required to get to one hundred and sixty five multiple
touchdown games. Just one hundred and sixty five games at
any position. It's hard enough to do. These guys Rogers, Manning,
and then Breeze At one hundred and seventy three. Britty
is the standard bearer because he had so much time
to do it. Walked home with two hundred and four

(01:27:29):
multiple touchdown games passing. But I didn't realize Aaron Rodgers.
I know Trey and I talked earlier that Rodgers is
functioning at a high level within this offense despite some
of the critique out there. Tied for thirty and touchdown
passes this year with an offense that doesn't exactly have
a ton of explosion in the passing game. It's impressive
stuff and they got a big one this weekend. That's

(01:27:50):
a fun game coming up. Chargers hosting the Steelers. Kind
of a throwback game you think about it, got Jim
Harball coaching one team, Tomlin coach and the other. They've
squared off from time to time last decade when Harball
was back in the NFL with the forty nine Ers.
A lot of big stuff going on this weekend. Glad
to be with you here. It's a Thursday night. We're

(01:28:11):
about to wrap up here. I'm John Ellis, that's Trey
Pauly Wannuts Falco. It is game on. We're brought to you,
as always by our good friends at ingalls markets, low prices,
love the savings. We'll wrap it up after the show.
