Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hello, and welcome to side Quest. This is our weekly
video game show here at Geek First, I'm your host,
Still Musn't with me the super Galaxy Kirk Glen Patzer.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
How are you doing tonight, my friend. I'm doing really good.
I'm uh yeah, I'm doing really good. I'm excited to
start my week. Today's Monday, so I'm excited to just
start my week here the side Quest. It's always a
nice ease into.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
The week that way.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
And uh yeah, I'll just mention to you offcast, we're
entering the fall months, so I'm getting pretty excited. Japan
is coming up really really quickly. I think it's like
thirty eight days away. We have a little countdown going
on on our calendar, and uh yeah, no, it's it's exciting.
We're gonna be talking a little bit Nintendo stuff in there,
and I'm gonna be going to Universal Studio with the
Nintendo World. So yeah, no, I'm getting into the into

(01:03):
the groove here, excited right on.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, this is gonna be a fun episode, mostly talking
about the intended direct and then of course starting with
the games we've been playing, which I have a fun
one to talk about there. So yeah, pretty simple, straightforward episode,
but a good one. Nonetheless, I feel like it's crazy.
There was through July and August there was three Nintendo directs.
Now we have this one here, and of course they
are all different scales and different focuses and whatnot, but
it's just been an overall extreme blast and I'm sure

(01:28):
this is the Well. Actually this isn't even the last
one of the year, because they announced another word Kirby
one happening, so we're gonna get at least one more direct.
Saw some rumors swirling that a Nintendo or Sony showcases
happening soon, so we'll see if that happens. I don't
think Xbox has anything else but game wards, but all
that stuff's coming up pretty soon because we're already halfway
through September so and October has insane amount of games

(01:49):
coming out that I'm gonna be playing a lot of.
So it's gonna be a good closing out to the
fall here. But let's let's let's get into the games
we've been playing. You know, just Silksong I talked about
last week. I beat that game today, Kirkling second try
on the on the Final Boss. Might I add so
many other bosses destroyed me tens of times. Some of

(02:11):
the final boss I was just dialed in and then
there's like a different alternate thing you can do, and
you have to beat it again to get to this
other bonus game postgame area kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
First try on that time, So I don't know this.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
This final boss fucking hooped them and smack it down,
so that felt pretty good. I think I'm gonna do
a spoiler episode about that, just the solo one, later
this week, so stay tuned to the feeds for that, people,
because I'm gonna sharel I don't want to bore Kirkling
here with all these little intricate details about a game
he hasn't played, unless he wanted to surprise me with
the game he's been playing this week and throw it
in the mix, but assumeing not. I'll save those thoughts

(02:45):
for a few days from now. So the other main
game I've been playing over the last few weeks here
is Tony Hawk's pro Skter three plus four. So this is,
of course the remake remaster that came out in July,
but I'm finally playing it as of now. Before we
get into that, I want to kind of you know
circle it a little bit as we like do like
a couple of vultures. Have you played three or four?

(03:08):
Three and or four? Uh?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yes, it was on the PlayStation monthly release a couple
of months. This was then is this the new one?
Or am I thinking of the other one?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
So they?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, they did one plus two like a few years ago.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I think that would be the one then that I
that I played.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
On PS plus or was it a monthly game?

Speaker 1 (03:28):
What's the situation there, because I guess that's still even
though it's owned by Xbox and this one, this new
one's on game Pass. That one point plus two is
not on game Pass yet, which is trouble. I've been
waiting for that. It's weird the new ones on there.
But I didn't see it on PlayStation Plus either, So
it must have been a monthly game or something.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
That's too bad, I think, yeah, because it was.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, let me look here.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I'm pretty sure it.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Was a monthly game because I got pretty excited to
see it on because I'm always checking those every month
and just adding to the library there.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, man, I should have subscribed for that one month.
Maybe it happened one before I had a PS five
or something, because the game did come out of it.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It was a little while ago now, like I think
it was I want to say, over twelve months, like
like maybe over a year ago now. But I jumped
in there and I dabbled and I put in I'm
pretty sure it was the same one that we.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Played on the stream.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
That's correct. We were okay plus So yeah, I would
have been that one. So three and four did you
play either of those back in the days?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I maybe, but like really not familiar. Yeah, it was
your big Thug guys. I know that absolutely. Like pro
Skater two.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
I remember playing that at like my cousin's house or something,
but it wasn't until the Thug era that I actually
got my hands onto one.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
M hm.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
For me, I had two pro Skater two on the
N sixty four and it was the reason it's memorable
to me is because it was one of the few
yellow carts that and Donkey Kong sixty four were the
yellow carts. And then I had like the gold Majora's
Mask one. But man, I did not get into that
game at all, Like I think it was too hard
for me. That was like before Thug where there was
like you know, the time limit on each level, like

(04:56):
the two minute time limit kind of thing, and like
I was even just today, I was looking up, like,
what are the maps in two again? And I literally
only recognized the first one, So I don't know if
I ever even made it past the first level of
that game, which is crazy because back then it was
four era, I owned like eight games, you know, so
I was playing them like by the end of that
console's lifespan for me, so I was playing all my
games a lot, but that one just didn't click for

(05:17):
me at the time. And then in the GameCube era
with Thug and then even American Wasteline is when I
played a lot of as well. Not as many times
as Thug, but yeah, that's kind of where I fell
in love with the series. And I had another one
on game Boy Advance, which sucked. I hate those like
portable ones were not very good in my opinion. And
then I remember, specifically because I didn't get a Wee
at launch. I was trying to but it was like

(05:38):
sold out everywhere, and I don't know what the pre
order situation was like, but I remember a few months
down the line finally getting a Wei. I think the
two games I had Day one. Of course, we sports
also Excite Truck and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. I think
that was out like around that time. That's because it
seems to I have a distinct memory of that being
one of like the early games I had on the
WI and loved that back in the day. But man,

(05:59):
that's all one that like has completely fled my mind.
I like looking up the maps for that one. I'm like,
I don't really remember any of these except for like
maybe one or two. I remember a couple of the characters,
but yeah, it's like really fled my mind. And Thug
is the one that I just always revisit. And I
think it's because like not just you, but like all
my other friends or my cousin, Like that was everyone's
favorite growing up, you know, so it's like you just
played at friend's house. You'd be talking about at the time,

(06:21):
getting nostalgic about it. And it is one that I've
revisited more than even like American Waste One, which I
don't know why, because I feel like those games are
probably very similar, But for some reason, Thug was the
one that always spoke to me. And so yeah, this
is my first time playing really any of these maps.
And I've seen a few streams, like one of my
favorite streamers last year was doing Tony October where he's
playing through every single Tony Hawk game. Like each stream
he was just kind of blasting through one of them.

(06:43):
And so I've seen these maps, and like other videos
and whatnot, I've seen a lot of these maps in passing,
so it's interesting to see them get the glow up.
And I don't know, of course, not all the intimate
details until now that I've been playing through three plus four,
But yeah, this is pretty similar to that one plus
two remake from what I understand, where it's just taking
the games, kind of giving them a new code of paint,
taking out a lot of these you know, a lot

(07:04):
of those the game. Those games back in the day
had like weird references or strange things in them, and
I feel like they've kind of send it off the
edges a bit and it makes it a little bit
less edgy and a little bit less cringely at the
same time too, which is maybe to the detriment or
maybe to the benefit of the game, depending on how
a nostalgic Q are for some of that stuff. And
of course for three plus four. I'm not particularly nostalgic

(07:24):
for those details in this one, but there's some interesting
changes that I'm excited to kind of talk about here.
But I also the thing is, like I feel like,
with Thug being my my Tony Howkins and I've played
the most, the thing that I miss the most from
that is just being able to get off your board
for me as such a boon in terms of like
positioning yourself correctly, you know, because that game obviously had

(07:48):
that it had different kind of platforming things wor you
could like climb walls and things, and so obviously rather
than putting ramps everywhere, sometimes you could just shortcut by
like just running up straight up a wall.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
That kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
And then the other thing from Skate that I really like,
I think is maybe been in some Tony Hawk games,
has been able to like set a waypoint down wherever
you are, so like right before a certain trick area,
set down that way point in that way you don't like, Okay,
go all the way back up this thing again, just
like try again, which another thing too, Matt. I don't
know how often you played Tony Hawk in these days.
I you know, obviously we did on the stream, and
it's like, I think for all of us that had

(08:17):
been a while, it's like, holy hell, these games are hard.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, so you can.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Get you can get away with it, but to like
get a sick combo or you have your balance in there,
and obviously having a mastery of the maps helps a
lot too. But man, I set this game, which is
fun to kind of build up again. I'm curious how
I if Thug would probably feel about the same, Like
there's so much muscle memory there and I'm just I
just don't have it anymore.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
But it's just so fun getting back in here because
it's been a long time.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Since I really indulged deeply into Tony Hawky Mother than
that little bit we played on that stream. That one thing, right, Yeah, No,
I did a quick google also, it was August twenty
twenty two was the monthly PlayStation for so I was
definitely not playing much PlayStation in that era. That makes sense,
I told you.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Which is way longer ago than I thought, So that
would have been like, well, I guess we play on stream,
but yeah, just does not feel that long ago.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah, it's funny.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
I feel like part of me in like my skillful
era of playing these ton of Hawk games, Like I
don't even think I was that good, honestly, Like I
was just button smashed.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I wonder how good I actually was on my GameCube
memory card if there is remnants of like oh here
was my high scores, like oh, five hundred thousand, Maybe
I actually was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
I can't do that anymore exactly.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
And like that was also when like me and my
cousin were always on those like cheat websites, like any
any game that you could activate cheats. We were probably
doing it on back then Infinite Balance, Yeah, just getting
insane combos because you would never wipe out. You just
you just like manual out of a trick and then
get onto something else. So and I feel like even
when we played it on the stream, that was a Okay,

(09:44):
it's been a while, so I play these games, but
also be just like eye opening how difficult those those
games really are, because it's different than just oh yeah,
I'm gonna do an all onto a grind, but like no,
you gotta do like a kick flip three sixty into
a into a grind, into a manual grind up the
telephone wire, you know, the classic Tony Hawk things.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
But yeah, yeah, and so one of the things, so
obviously I like I said, I haven't played these maps
back in the day, But one of the interesting things
I think they've done here from what I understand, is
like they kind of took these maps and like these games,
you know, three and four came out what fifteen twenty
years ago something like that originally, and what they've done
for these maps is like take those maps and emulated them.

(10:23):
Here is if fifteen to twenty years have like passed
for those actual maps. So for something like Airport, which
is just an airport, like I don't know, different art
on the wall, different posters, whatever, but like it's still
pretty much looks the same and has the same machine
to it. But one of the maps from four that
I always remember being an iconic one, even though I
haven't played it is the zoo, where there's like animals
doing all sorts of crazy stuff and all sorts of

(10:44):
the different objective you can do, like you know, free
animals and they go running around you all this crazy stuff.
But in this game, it's like a closed down, decrepit zoo,
and so it's just like a freaking wasteland and it's
dark and there's no animals, and it's like, I feel
like that's a dumb idea because Zoo is like a fun, weird,
goofy concept. They feel like one and two were maybe
even more grounded, and then like with three and four

(11:06):
they got quite a bit more goofy, and then with
Underground they're like, Okay, we're telling an actual like story here,
so we're gonna ground it again. And but I feel
like three and four maybe a bit of a time
where they got a bit zanier or some of the maps,
but then like you take Zoo and you take all
the animals out, and it loses like all of its personality.
And I remember watching streams of that level and being
like this is such a weird level. I can't wait
to play it someday, and like finally get the chance

(11:26):
to play it, and it's like this map kind of sucks.
And honestly, it's not really well designed either, Like it
doesn't have great flow to it, a lot of like
there's not a lot.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Of great connection points.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
It's some of the rails are just like randomly cut
off in the middle, and it's like what that should
be like one long rail, so weird things like that
are happening, and like the theming is kind of boring
because they took out the character of it, so I
don't know how, Like I can't obviously make that comparison
for all of them, but Zoo is the one, especially
because it's like the final level of the Game of
four specifically, they're like, man, they really dropped the ball here.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
I don't know what they were what.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
They were thinking with this one, But for other levels,
that is really fun to see, like you know what
this place look like then and what what it kind
of looks like now, And it almost gives like a
post apocalyptic vibe to a lot of the levels. It
feels like like these could be locations in the Last
of Us or something like sections of those kind of
games or things are very overgrown, there's graffiti everywhere, things
are broken down, So I don't know, it's a weird vibe.

(12:17):
I got to say, it's definitely not as bright and colorful.
And even looking back at some footage from these maps
back in the day, a lot of them were like
almost every levels like set during the daytime, and in
this like I think half of them they set in
the night, so it even just changes the vibe. It's
a lot darker, Like London was like bright and colorful,
but now it's like dark and rainy, which is, you know,
a fitting and setting for what London is. But yeah,

(12:38):
it's interesting to see kind of the creative choices they
took here instead of just like okay, let's just throw
a code pain on here, but like, let's re envision
this a little bit, but just keep you know, the
kind of props in the same location. So kind of
interesting to kind of go through it that way and
see all the changes that were made. It makes me
curious for one and two if they did a lot
of those things too, because I don't remember those discussions happening.

(12:59):
I think the other big change from what I understand
four was a more open game actually was it almost
was like that stepping stone that bridge from the from
Tonoks one two three over to underground, where like it
was more open and there was objectives and you had
to go around the map and like talk to people,
and I don't know if it had the time like
the two minute timer, but they've stripped all that the
way here and they've just put it into like the

(13:20):
two minute time or format all the objectives are built
in there, which I know is like a controversial thing.
A lot of people were kind of pissed about that
because that was kind of like the character of the game,
and they kind of took it out, which I guess
they did it to make it feel more cohesive, so
you wouldn't have like one game with the classic two
minute time or all these objectives and one game where
it's like a more.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Open format, I suppose.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
So obviously I'm not too bummed, ause I don't really
know what I'm missing out on, and I think I
think it's like, as someone who's played so much Thug
in American Wasteland, like as my two I played the most,
the two minute timer thing and these challenges is a
really fun, like different thing too. It makes it feel
much more arcadie, which is kind of the original intention
of it. But you know, as you go through, there's
like ten objectives, like three or four of them margins

(14:00):
like high score things, and all of them are like,
you know, do a wall, plant off this kind of
thing and knock this particular thing over, get the letters, skate,
collect the secret tape, all these.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Kinds of different things. But one of the really fun things.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Once you beat a level, do all of it, you
can do the speed run of it, and so you
can try and get all those objectives in like a
short amount of time. So and then like there's a challenge.
Usually for most of them, that's like around four minutes.
So to get all these objectives within four minutes has
been a really fun challenge. I've only done on a
couple levels because I'm still so bad at this game,
but man planning out like Okay, what does the exact
droud I need to take to get all the skate

(14:32):
letters as quick as possible, and then also along the
way stop and like, okay, knock these things off my
bucket list, and then also make sure I end up
kind of in like a nice pool area so I
can just like crush it with some score to close
it out there. Super duper fun and I'm really really
locked in for some of that, other than the fact
that some of these layer levels I can't even get
the high score even though like take away the speed
run time or I can't even do it at all,

(14:54):
Like I'm just not good enough at the game for
that kind of thing yet. So it's yeah, it's fun
feeling like a first time playing Tony Hawk again just
in terms of my skill level. But man, this makes
me under round right into one plus two and just
like plug through that now that I'm on a bit
of a streak and I'm building up that muscle memory again.
But yeah, I'm really it's funny too, like I'm playing
this now like last week that skate early Access release,

(15:16):
so like I have both these series back in the
same year. Is interesting, and I don't know, I'm hopeful
for what we get kind of in the future here
with more skateboarding games and what then you're next with
the Tony Hawk, because like, I don't know, do you
think they would do Underground Underground two remake remastered? Do
you think it's time? Like okay, maybe they're set up
to make their own game now because one thing I
haven't mentioned as there's three new levels in this game

(15:36):
that I've never appeared in any game before Movie Studio,
which is kind of what it sounds like. It's super
fun water Park, which is like a just once again
decrepit like worn down water park, and then Pinball, which
is like a crazy one where you're like a little
guy in a pinball machine and you look up and
there's a gigantic Tony Hawk like playing.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
The pin Bull.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
That's funny and all through these levels are amazing, like
some of the best in the game overall, And so
it's like, Damn, I won this team to make new
maps and do it their own game because their level
design is peak, like especially water Park and Pindlic. These
are really great maps, even I think top some of
like some of the ones in Thugg, which I'm deeply
nostalgic for. That just shows how good they are. So

(16:14):
I hope, I hope they get the chance, But yeah,
what would you like to see next from them?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah? I mean, like when I dabbled on one and two,
it was fun to kind of get into those old
maps that I remember playing and enjoying. But it just
doesn't really seem like the type of game like I'm
really seeking out these days. Like I think part of
me is like wanting to just wait for that skate game,
you know, just just different gameplay mechanics. But man, i'd
be lying if I wouldn't be a pretty easy sell.

(16:40):
I think if they did a remake of Thug like
I always enjoyed, Like there's many aspects to thug that
I enjoyed over the pro skaters, but just like the
story is just so fun to kind of go through
if you.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Just started this little local skater.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
And then you go to like the big contests, and
those were always just so fun, and I'm sure those
like cut scenes and the story is so aged.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
So I'm curious if they would just if they do
go that route, they just completely re like.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Just do what was already done, or if they try
and I don't know, redo some things, because it sounds
like they've already it's just kind of the maps, but
they are changing some things from the original. And does
three and four have the original tracks? I heard they
changed that or something like the music is I think it's.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Almost all new, or at least like they could only
they were only able to get some of the original ones,
or maybe the price for.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Some of those has gone up. I'm not exactly sure
they have changed it.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
I mean, this is a big podcast game for me,
so like I I feel like I'm listen to any
music anyway, but I wouldn't and since I haven't played.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
The originals, I wouldn't really catch the difference.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
But it's you know, as far as background noise going
like it feels very Tony Hawk to me. But yeah,
like I'm not really paying too much attention to that
that detail, but I can definitely see That's another reason
why some people are kind of pissed about this, because
it's like not like that that music is so important
for the vibe of this game, right, and so for
a lot of people who are specially nostalgic for the
tracks that were in these games to not have that anymore,

(18:00):
I can see why that's a bummer. But also you
all got a phone a Spotify on it that has
these songs on it playlist, and then you know it's
not the best solution obviously, but like you.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Can do it.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Man.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
You just reminded me as I work today and I
can't I can't remember what song it was, but I
heard the song and I'm like, man, this is from
cool borders, like specifically like the PlayStation one, like Snowboarding game.
Hadn't heard it since then, but man, just just hearing
those certain music and like even pro Skater one or two,
like just the tracks that would I remember playing Tony
Hawks Underground and stuff like that, because there's just always

(18:33):
music blasting, you know, when you're doing those those uh
those runs when you're trying to get the two minute
time or whatnot. But yeah, I getting back to the
question at hand, I think it would be Tony Knock
Underground would be a really good sell for me, especially
if it is one and two.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Uh they do three.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
They didn't do three, did they? Tony Hawks Underground three.
That's when they went into like American Wasteland.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah, exactly America was I think there was eight was
like another one might have been a Wasteland too. No,
there wasn't a Wasteline too. Yeah, project they I think
at somewhere that they did a pro Skater five which
like everyone hated apparently it was very good. Yeah, Project eight.
There was like Shred, which is the one where they
had the peripheral with like the little skateboard on your
Oh yeah one that was we and then there was

(19:16):
like there was also like Tony Hawk Motion I think,
which I I forget if it was a phone game
or a wei game with a waggle or whatever. But yeah,
they've definitely they lifinitely lost lost their.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Way after I haven't because you have you you haven't
played Thug two or or have you played Thug too. No,
I played Thug two. Okay, Okay, I like that one
a lot. Wasn't that one like very Jackass inspired?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Like, wasn't it like all the Jackass characters because Babar
was huge in that era, and so.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
I for sure the story and made it the opening.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
It seems like a like a like a scene out
of Jackass, like like kidnapped people and they like make
this guy pe like it's just very sure.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Very stupid. Yeah, yeah, which, you know, I almost nostalgic
for Jackass. That was a big This arrow was very iconic.
So it's it's crazy to me that I never played Thug.
It feels like the easiest rental of all time, or
like someone in my life would have owned it. But yeah,
I just never never happened across my doorstep. But I
guess I just skipped it and went right to American

(20:11):
Waistline for whatever reason. But yeah, I just feel like
those games are probably individually bigger than pro Skater one
through four, and so I wonder if they would do
the combo pack, and especially since they're more story based,
I don't know if the remaster bundle makes as much
sense for them because it's not like it's one cohesive story,
whereas these games don't really have a story one through four, right, Yeah,

(20:34):
they have like individual little moments in the levels, but
not like an overarching thing.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
So yeah, I wonder how they would do that.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
I feel like they could get away with just selling
a Thug one remake at this scale with like the
full price and maybe add a couple of new maps
in there or something like that, or remake some of
them or something like. I wouldn't want them to change
too much, but some levels, like you know, like Hotter
than Hell, the Kiss level where Kiss are on stage,
like cool idea, but like not really that interesting. It's

(21:02):
pretty empty, like boring when you actually play it. So
I don't know even just like adding a couple bells
and whistles on there. And I think even in that
original Thug they had like some remakes of games the
one through four, So I don't know if they would
do that for a remake now because they just did
remakes of like these other games, right, so it might
make sense to add a couple of fresh new maps
in there, which would be cool or something else. But

(21:22):
I think they would maybe go that ud instead of
bundling Thug one plus two. But I would want them
to do that because I, like I said, I haven't
played too so that would be a good chance for
MENA finally knock that game off the backlog.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Do they do they have like the same skaters like
the people that you'd be playing in the game, or
did they because I thought for one and two they like.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Brought in like more modern people.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah, there's a lot of new people in here, and
I know that they at least removed a couple people
from the OG one or if not more than that.
I think it's like the biggest roster Tony Hawk game
has ever had. But you know, that's adding a lot
of new people that didn't exist back then or were
babies back then, whatever. But yeah, also remove some some
that are some favorites. And then there's on the X

(22:05):
I don't know if it's on the PlayStation version as well,
but they have Doomslayer and like one of the beasts
from Doom in here as playable characters. There's also I
think it's Michael Angelo like the TM and t like
the Turtle, but only one of them, like not all four,
which is super weird. There is like a in the
movie studio level there. At one point there's like a

(22:26):
sewer grain drain whatever the heck. That's like bouncing up
and down and you can like acid drop into it.
And then you drop into like a little TMNT section
which is like five seconds long.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
It's not much, but it's just like a sewer area.
And then there's also.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
A bikini bottom SpongeBob area, and skater island. You fly
off the front of a pirate ship and go underwater,
but like SpongeBob is not a playable character or anything
like that. And then I don't know if you gonna
walk him. But one of the characters in four that
I didn't know is in here is Jack Blacks, like
a voice actor. He plays like a cop essentially in
this who like can teleport around. It's like crazy, And

(23:00):
he's in here too. I don't know if he recorded
new lines or if they just used the same ones,
but he's still in there. I hope you can unlock him,
and he has a couple of quips if you pick
him and like do cool tricks and stuff, because I
would like to do that. But yeah, I think they
definitely called some people to make room for some new ones,
although I've been using a custom skater for almost all
this so far, but there's a bunch of challenges for

(23:21):
like every individual character, so a lot of cool stuff
in there. Now, that's the thing I'm also nostalgic for,
just like when you re you boot up one of
these games and they just have like live action, like
actual footage of these skaters doing cool tricks. Because I
feel like in the age of YouTube, I should have
some like skateboarding YouTubers that I just follow and watch
some cool new stuff. But I just I feel like
it's been so long since I've consumed skateboarding content, so

(23:43):
I don't know, it's been It's been fun, but yeah,
what is the Barracks?

Speaker 3 (23:46):
I haven't heard of that?

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Oh man, that was like high school. I think it
was high school. It was when I first like got
experience experience with it. It was like a skate park
that a couple pro skaters owned. Okay, oh my gosh,
I don't even remember like their names. Now I'm I'm
aging myself because I feel like I just followed all
these all these famous skate pard Yeah. Absolutely, but they

(24:09):
had yeah, they had their own YouTube channel. They also
had like a shop and then they would do like
basically like a massive skate tournament with like just a
plethora of like professionals, so it would just be like
YouTube series doing stuff like that, or maybe like like
a famous person coming to the you know, like their
little skate park, and then it's just like just a
YouTube channel. So I would follow that and then tie

(24:31):
that in with I think it was called skate League
or or something like that. It was basically like the
World Cup of like skateboarding. Yeah, it's been a while
I watch these, so maybe you know I'm getting some
names wrong here, but definitely an era.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Interesting you mentioned that because like, since you know, this
game originally release and now like skateboarding is in the
Olympics now, and I think some of the characters in
here are like Olympians for skateboarding, which is cool to
have that kind of crossover because that, yeah, just didn't
exist back in the dank skateboarding add like two or
three Olympics ago or something like that, so it's still
pretty fresh in the mix. Of course, they've always had
like X Games or whatever, like all these other things,

(25:06):
but the Olympics is something a bit different. So I
think that's pretty cool that they can get some of
those people in there, and I think from what I understand,
like the Japanese skateboarding scene is like blown up over
the last few years.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
It's like huge now.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
So they have a few Japanese characters in here too,
which is which is really awesome. So yeah, there's some
some nice details in the mix there.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Eric Costin, that was Eric. I don't know if he
is in Steve bar.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Okay, Okay, Yeah, I'd have to go look at the
roster because it's pretty big. Yeah. Some the other level
highlights for me, of course, Canada a classic if you
played have you played the Canada level in any future game,
because a lot of the games have like old I
think Canada has come back.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
A couple of Thughead Vancouver, but like.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
So just that. Yeah, so this one's like very because
Vancouver isn't like a snowy location. But of course every
Canada level and any video game has to be like
just covered in snow, so this one is more generics
snow in that way. Like one of the objectives is
like a guy got his stung, his his tongue stuck
on a pole, so you have to knock him off
or there's like a bully who's under a big tree
covered in snow, so you have to like smack the
tree and drop the snow on this bully and all

(26:12):
this crazy stuff. And there's kind of like a skate
park area and then like just like a.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Wild area with a forest, couple of trees, a bunch
of wild things like that. So that one's a classic.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Of course, As I mentioned Skater Island, it's a small level,
but I think it has a really cool design. Los Angeles,
I think is the one that's been remade a bunch
of times in other games. Alcatraz is a really fun setting.
It has like a very big vertical sequence to it,
so you can just get some crazy airs flying off
like the top of it. So that one's really good. Yeah,

(26:42):
I mentioned Movie Studio. Water Park, San Francisco is like
the tutorial level but also has a bunch of objectives
because it's a faint it's a full main level later on,
and I love the design of it. I thought it
was super good. So yeah, I like, yeah, this game
is really really great, really funny get back in the
Tony Hawk vibe and yeah, like I said, I might
just because I saw it's like on sale right now
in PlayStation. I might just buy one plus two and

(27:02):
get right into it because I kind of want to. Yeah,
I just want to keep this train going here, So yeah,
I might might pick that up because, love me, some
Tony Hawks want to get back in there.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Hell yeah, m hmm.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
I think that is about all I wanted to talk
about with that game.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Uh, Kirklam, what have you been playing? Uh? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I boot it up randomly because I was watched, Oh Shane,
I watched Uncharted okay a little while ago. Didn't get
through the whole the whole movie I was. I was
pretty uninterested and fall asleep, but I was like, man,
I gotta play some more Naughty Dog adventures. And of
course I had the Drake Nathan Drake collection on my
PlayStation so installed that I've in the past played through

(27:47):
Uncharted two, which was probably like my favorite game at
that time. I was just randomly going through my PlayStation
trophies and I was like ninety eight percent of the
way for the platinum. I don't know why I didn't
get the platinum. The only thing I'd never got on
the three version is I need to get like five
hundred kills with like a mini gun. So in that game,
if you like beat the game, you could like go
back and it's almost like an arcade mode. You can

(28:08):
just like get guns at like any period, Like you
could do missions with like a mini gun that you
normally would only have a pistol on stuff like that.
But like I had beaten the game on crushing difficulty,
which was like I think was like the second or
third hardest difficulty or no, like like three levels passed hard,
Like it was so much harder to actually beat the game,
and I just never got the platinum that was back

(28:30):
in that era when I would like go for platinums,
and I just never got it.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
So that's a big disappointment for to tell you how
many kills you have with the minigun out of five
hundred it would have in game.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
But I don't even have my PlayStation three anymore, and
I doubt I could throw that in MPs five, I
lent to my cousin and he got his vehicle totaled
and the PlayStation was in the vehicle and it did
not survive the adventure.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
But luckily I love my cousin least what he told.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Okay, yeah, but no, I Nathan Drake collection, and I've
I'd only ever played the second one before, so I
started with the first, and man.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
I've been having lots of fun with it.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I think the movement is a lot more arcadie than
I kind of remember it being, and like the shooting
is is whatever, Like I don't know, it's it's not
like a very gameplay heavy game, but like just a
very like easy not drain a lot of brain power.
I was pairing this game with elden Ring when I
was when I was grinding hard on elden Ring, so

(29:27):
I need a little break, you know, a nice simple
game to just plug in there.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
And I don't know, I'm really vibeing it.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
I love the like the charisma that Nathan Drake has
some of like just the cutscenes are like just dated
and like just kind of cringing in some aspects. I'm
curious if I make it through the first one and
continue on, like I would redo two, even though I've
beaten that game many times in the past, just to
kind of continue on in the adventure, because I think
I also have four on the PlayStation catalog or it's

(29:52):
just on the like the their game pass on the
PlayStation extras, so I I would love to just get
through them because they are very well known, well regarded games,
and I love the second one, and it just scratches
that like Indiana Jones itch. I know there is an
Indiana Jones game out there, but just just PlayStation yeah exactly.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
I don't know. I've been really vibing with it.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
I think I'm like, I don't know mission like three
or four. I've only played a couple hours into it,
but no, it's it's lots of fun. And for the
first game having come out, like I think it was
kind of early PlayStation three era, like and it is
like remastered or whatever, like re re upped on the graphics,
but like just the base substance of what the game

(30:36):
is like yeah, head of the game, like PlayStation like
back then, just just thinking about what this game was.
I remember like the super cheesy PlayStation commercials too, where
there's like a guy and a girl like playing and
like the guy's playing the game and the girl like
thinks it's like a movie or something, and it's like
and then it would go to the PlayStation like simple
and then it would show like Uncharted on PlayStation three,

(30:57):
and it's like I'm like playing this, I'm like, I
don't know who would think this is a you know,
a movie, but that was just the media, the marketing
back out of the day. But yeah, no, I've been
pushing through Uncharted and then, as I also mentioned, I've
been pushing through elden Ring also, Dylan Muss, I am
pretty damn far into the game.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
I am.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
I think I'm approaching millennia, like at the Hallid treekay so,
And then yeah, no, I fucking love this game so much.
I'm I've taken a little break now just because I
don't even know why. We are just busy weekend and
haven't really played on the PlayStation for a little bit here.
But yeah, I am very very close to the end.

(31:41):
And something that's really been motivating on Plane right now
is I got so obsessed with the lore of elden Ring.
I was going down many YouTube rabbit holes. There's some
fantastic YouTubers out there that like dive deep on just
the just the blank nature of what the lore of
Ring is and like how like unclear a lot of

(32:02):
it is, and like it in like going through like
the Eldin lore like subreddits and stuff like that, Like
it's just It's crazy how much is just like up
for interpretation and like it's set up to be that way,
but just hearing other people's theories is just so fascinating
to me. And uh, yeah, I was just going down
rabbit holes on that and then just pairing it with
playing like I was listening like YouTube lore or sorry,

(32:23):
elder ring lore videos while I was playing the game,
because I was just like getting so engulfed on I
don't even know, like just talking about like the Omen
and like what even the omen are, and just just
different aspects of America and and just the importance of
America and Radagon. Like, I just was going down so
many rabbit holes and has me getting really excited for
when we eventually get that movie. And yeah, just just

(32:44):
just a round out the game.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
You gonna be much with Dark Souls, like the lower
videos for Dark Souls say that one more time? Sorry
is there how much have.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
You dug into like lower videos for dark Souls? Have
you done that too or is it more just elder
ring as you've.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Been Yes, definitely, Like I think when I get in
do a game, I just kind of absorb as much
as I can around it, So I definitely went that
route for Dark Souls. Also, I have a pretty good
understanding of like the story of Dark Souls, even though
I haven't wrote credits on it, Like I kind of yeah,
I kind of get the gist.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
I'm wondering how different that feels, because obviously I've played
both these games, but like, I don't really know what
that was going on. I'm the lord, Like, how much
how different does it feel considering you got like the
Georgia R. Or Martin effect with elden Ring lore or
is it all just feel like from software stew where
they kind of just don't really answer a lot of things,
A lot of things are weird, and they have strange

(33:34):
language and and all that sort of stuff.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
That's a great question because I had been thinking about that.
I feel like, just while I'm playing the game of
Ellen Ring, I kind of forget how much like George R.
Martin kind of helped craft this just entire universe, Like
it's it really is just a universe, as opposed to
like this boss is related to this boss. It's like no,
the actual like fabrication of the world, like they they
set up a universe here, which is pretty fascinating. With

(33:58):
Dark Souls, it's very simplified in comparison to that, and
and it's not so much like galactic scale, like like
what elder Ring kind of goes with. And I also
feel like just the complexity of like people actually being
related to people and like who feuded with Hugh, like
who like like just the whole trifecta of like Meerica

(34:19):
Ratigon and like ray Lu Ranala from ray Lukaria, Like
I don't I don't remember if you exactly know what
happened there, but like just like yeah, like just the
marriages and then like the dismantling of the marriages and
then just just the whole thing with the demigods and
like Marka's children and like that is so far from
what Dark Souls one is, at least I even't played

(34:41):
Dorzels two or three. I imagine that the stories get
maybe a little bit more like concrete, but I'm sure
there's still so much just off for interpretation when it
when it comes to that stuff. But I like, I
don't know, I don't want to take away too much
credit for what Dark Souls one has as its story.
Also of just like the history we have the ancient
dragons and just the whole birthing of the uh what's

(35:05):
it called, like the internal cinder or whatever it is
whatever Gwynn kind of harnesses. So but I prefer elden
Ring just because it is just such a vast game.
I think on it, like after I roll credits and
like like just kind of play through Shato of the
Ar Tree.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
Also, I'm excited to get into that DLC. Have you
played the DLC? You have, right, yep, okay, nice, I've
heard it's extremely hard. So I'm I'm.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Looking at the bosses complete bullshit, but it's so Millennia.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Those two bosses. Oh man, Yeah, I'm so scared.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
I'm so scared, and like I gained confidence in this game,
and then I get like one not even like main
boss but just like a subside thing that just focks
me up so hard. I'm like, Okay, I don't even know,
like maybe it's just my my my affinity type or whatever,
the damage, like they're just immune to what I'm dishing out.
But that game is so humbling in the greatest ways.
And yeah, the more it's like once I beat it

(35:58):
and get through shut of the Ar Tree, eventually, I'm
sure I'll you know, in ten years when we do
our ten Top ten video games, I think it will
be on there, just because just because I'm so obsessed
with it now, like it's just getting so ingrained and
just how I don't know, there's a lot more into
the surface, and I'm just yeah, I'm just getting so
obsessed with it, so really really vibing with the Elder

(36:19):
Ring there. I'll update you if I get through Millennium
or if she crushes me. I haven't interacted with her yet,
even though I know a lot more about her kind
of backstory with the rot and Michela and just all
that stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
It's so fast, which areas and like the overworld you
have been through then to get to Millenia, because I forget, yeah,
I enter that area with the truths and shit.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Yeah, So I and I pulled up like a like
a because I finish Laneedel and then I went to
Volcano Matter, which I pulled up on on Reddit or
like the the wiki of what.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
The Elder Ring.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
It kind of has like a suggested progression route, and
I kind of went backwards like like like I ideally
you're supposed to go like the opening areas, maybe the
Weeping Peninsula, and then like up to ray Lucaria. I
was like klid Ray Lucaria, and then I kind of
like scratched the surface of Landell and then backtracked like
I was all over the place on my actual play through,

(37:21):
like I completely finished Landell, went into the sewers and everything,
and then went up to the Volcano Matterer, So I
was like over leveled when I got to that spot,
just kind of fucked up everyone fucked up right card,
which was really satisfying.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
And then after that I went.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
To Yeah, it's such a beautiful boss fight. In my gosh,
this game is just there's so many areas I get character.
Oh yeah, it's so terrifying and just gross and creepy.
I love it so much. But yeah, so then after
that I went into like the four second Lands, which
leads you to the mountaintop of the Giants and.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
What's it called Castle Soul I think, I think is
what it is.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
And then from there, yeah, got down to Nichola's Tree
or the Halock True whatever it's called, and then kind
of going through that route but uh, yeah, like there's
so many different biomes that I get to where I'm like, man,
like this can't be topped. This is just so gorgeous
here the first time I entered Landell and just like
the scale of what the city was, it's just kind
of yeah, just just just left me with my job.

(38:24):
Just this giant like stone dragon, just like in like
in the city.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
It's it just it's just.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Yeah, it blows my mind what they're able to achieve
this game, which is like old now, you know, like
I'm late to the party. It's just crazy how nice
this game is. And yeah, I am excited to get
in the Shadow of the Archery because I've kind of
been avoiding a lot of that lore aspect of my
my videos, like I don't want to read too much
on like things I haven't crossed. And fortunately, like the YouTube,

(38:52):
I should pull up his name to shout it out there,
but he doesn't really spoil too much, like it just
kind of focuses on the part that he's talking about,
which has been which has been nice.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
And yeah, no, highly recommend the ring. It's amazing. I
held off for so long.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
And then to try and then I get defeated, I
take a hiatus, and I get back in there and
I get obsessed and I take a hiatus, but no,
it's it's amazing And this is definitely like, well, it's
by far the furthest I've ever been in the game.
And yeah, kind of vibeing with it. I can't remember
what was your play style when you when you went,
You're like a big strength, right.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Big, Yes, the bigger the acts the better, nice and
big jumping attacks. Yeah, massive amounts of damage, which is
not what I've done previously. But I think Eldering just
had so many great weapons, like the physical design of
so many of them, Like I used it's not Morgot.
What's the guy like through that big first castle that

(39:47):
you beat Margaret?

Speaker 3 (39:51):
God got God God? Yeah, sorry God, Rick, I got
Rick the grafted. There you go. There's so many names
that are so his acts I used for a long time. Okay,
nice something.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Else kind of like same style and I always kind
of use those types. And yeah, I really I really
liked that style.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
I didn't even know that you could like get weapons
from those guys for like so long, like if you
go back and like do the remembrance, yeah, yeah, yeah,
one hundred percent. Yeah, No, I I started with I
don't even know what I started with and then eventually
I was unlocking like some magic stuff and I'm like,
I like the spells in this game just look so cool.
So I started kind of going to that road, and
then my skill tree was just fucking so spread out. Luckily,

(40:31):
there's like a way to just respect. Fortunately in this game,
you go to Ranala, and I felt I started going
into like a bleed type character with uh basically just
dumping it into arcane and it is insane.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
It is.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
I did pretty much.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
The whole game with Eleanora's pole Blade. I don't know
if you know that one, but it's like a you're
basically Darth Maul, like you have like a two twin
blade thing. And the Ash of War is just absolutely insane.
You get like a guaranteed stagger off on like ninety
percent of the enemies and because it's like you just
hamorrhage them for so much damage until you come across
people that are immune to Bleed and then that was

(41:06):
very humbly and kind of having to switch up the
place out there. But no, it's it's been. It's been
so fun, and it's just so like while I'm playing
the game, I'm like, man, like I want to play
like a faith character now just because like there's so
many like cool things that you can be getting in
different areas of the game, and yeah, no, I'm just
I'm just totally getting obsessed with it.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
So I think the DLC does a good job of
it kind of has its own progression system completely removed
from the main game, which is helpful if you're coming
in like New Game plus seventeen, or if you're just
like me who beat the main game and then went
straight there, and it because of that, like you're leveling
up is so much more meaningless, and it's more based
on this other currency that you can kind of do

(41:47):
a lot of that where I started putting stats, putting
points into stats that I had never loved love before
because I just wanted to try different weapons and it
didn't affect my ability to defeat bosses because you're and
your damage reduction is based off a whole other currency.
So yeah, I mean, I guess you're still a bit
away from the DLC, but I think for me that
was one of my favorite pairs about it is that
you could kind of switch out and try different weapons

(42:07):
that you really just couldn't afford to put the points
into in the main game, at least for me, who's
not like super great at these games. I really felt
like every point needed to go to something. Yeah, that
was gonna help mee like with my dominant strategy already.
So that's something to look forward to with the with
the DLC.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
But man, I'm impressed.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
I feel like I'm so bad at coming back to
these kinds of games. I'm amazed that you're able to
go on hiatus and come back and like find success.
Like that's very impressive, and I'm glad that you're sticking
with it because I think I'm really curious to hear
your thoughts when you've.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
Finally beat it.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
I'm here curious to hear if you hate the game
after playing Millennium, if you like it even more and
then yeah, the deal, well you think of the DLC,
because I didn't love it overall, that was fine, but yeah,
I'm curious to hear what you think of that when
you get to that as well.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Yeah absolutely, well yeah cool. How about with that we
go to a quick ad break. We will be right back.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Okay, we are back, and I of course want to
thank our beautiful Patreon producers. Aaron Braden, April of Darkness,
Jack Grant, Sam super Bad, Mike TGGLM six nine, Jeremy Renner,
Charlie Randell, Cocktail, Clay John with No H and Sam
Green newly minted Sam Green. So, last week or a
couple of weeks ago, we all recorded for Patreon our

(43:21):
top ten games of all time. Because of that, a
lot of people in the discord were sharing their top tens.
Me and Travis broke down. We did like reviews of
people's top tens. This was just one last week and
we got one more from I leave Sam Green here,
so I wanted to share that here. So his top
ten or their top ten, I don't know his pronouns there,
but their top ten number ten, Battlefield one, number nine,

(43:43):
Star Wars, The Force, Unleashed number eight, James Bond, Night
Fire number seven, Assassin's Creed, Brotherhood number six, day Z
number five, Go Freak On wild Lands number four, Splinter Cell,
Conviction number three, Ultimate Alliance two. You'd love to see
that number two, Red Dive, Redemption two and number one
Batman Arkham City so super stealth focused. I feel like

(44:04):
between Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and then even Daisy.
I feel like it's a pretty stealthy kind of game too, right,
I love to see that obviously a lot of like
some Star Wars in here, got some Marvel in the mix,
I asked too, like, what's marvel in?

Speaker 3 (44:17):
The line?

Speaker 1 (44:18):
Is too interesting? I feel like that's a bit of
a hot take. I feel like people are either diehards
to the original or number three, but obviously that was
like the nostalgic one for them. So that Songbird, I'm
sure that's yeah, I mean that's what I mentioned. I
was like, I love that game for Songbird alone, like
let alone all the other stuff in there. So and
then I as also showed it to Hogwarts Legacy probably
should be the list, and forgot hell is Loose as well,

(44:40):
which that one like just came out I think, right,
so that's kind of crazy, that would be like a
top ten contender already. But yeah, I think this is
a really great list. A lot of different ones from me.
I feel like this one is very Kirkland kind of coded,
with like the fire this.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Fields, even Battlefield one, Yeah, honestly, man, like Battlefield one.
I was just over the weekend I was talking to
a friend about like Battlefield overall, we're just talking about
our favorite battlefields, and I'd like Battlefield one like that
might have that might have scratched the surface for my
top ten video game list, like honestly, like like it's
at least an honorable mention. That is like some of
my absolute favorite first person shooter gaming moments, just like

(45:16):
the operations, the large scale of it, just holding down
your one trench where like I got my LMG and
I'm literally running out of AMMO to the point that
like I'm not dead, I'm just completely out of AMMO
and I'm just still trying to hold the line. And
it just was so cinematic of a game and really
really satisfying running like a.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
Like a bolt action with no scope on it.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
And yeah, many other games on that list also that
I had lots of lots of fun with splinter Cell absolutely,
so yeah, great lists.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Are Where are you at with the Star Wars Force Unleashed?
Is that when you played?

Speaker 2 (45:47):
Yeah, I love that game back in the day when
I would play it like at a friend's house. I
never owned it. I just I just loved what that
game was. And then I I got like the like
the Force on the Pack or whatever like on on Steam.
So I jump back into the game, and I was
loving it, and then I got to one boss battle
and it's only a Dark Souls game where it's like

(46:08):
really challenging. I think it's just like a Hack and
Slash Devil May Cry sort of Avenue type game, really cinematic,
and obviously scratched that Star Wars itch. There was one
boss battle I got fucking destroyed on and like, I'm
not playing on hard, I'm playing on normal, and like,
I just could not beat the boss and I just
put the game down and I hadn't gone back since.
But good shout out at least definitely nostalgic for it,
and very very interesting character that the that they just

(46:32):
yeah introduced to what you would call it a non
cannon story, but I think it just adds a lot
of juicy substance, and as me being kind of like
a pro Sith type character, you know, I'm usually more
interested in those type stories to be falling a character
that that's basically who they are.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
So I liked it a lot.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Yeah, I feel like I'm used to seeing like Kotor
making on people's top top list, or you know, Taylor
has maybe a different one if you tune into that
episode on Patron, So it's cool to see kind of
some different representation and even like Ultimate Alliance too, like
that being kind of a different pick from other people's
like favorite Marvel games as well, is a cool one.

Speaker 3 (47:08):
So yeah, it's not too late.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
If anyone else wants us to talk about their top ten,
send it in, send it on Discord or Patreon, YouTube,
wherever you want, We'll find it and put it in there. Yeah,
Patron's a great place to go to episodes early and
ad free.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
That's of course.

Speaker 1 (47:21):
Also you get access to all sorts of exclusive episodes,
most recently that top ten video Games of all time
lists from all of us. We also did movies, TV shows,
and yeah, like exclusive stuff. Every month, you're getting something
up there. You can join after nine, you can vote
on polls and the content we make. So it's definitely
worth it. We make it worth it in my humble opinion,
So go over there, check it out, support us, and

(47:42):
how about that we get into Nintendo Direct. So last
week there was a direct that happened on a Friday,
which was over an hour long, an hour and like
six minutes, I believe of content if.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
Anyone wants to.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
We did a live watch along reaction to the stream
on Friday morning. It was me and Travis there. Well,
Travis bailed in the final announcement because he had to
start his day. I was there the whole thing. Kirkle
was there for fifty minutes, Taylor was there for half
an hours. It's kind of all of us. We all
popped in for different parts of it, but yeah, it
was you know, mostly or the first maybe quarter of

(48:16):
it or third of it, I should say, was kind
of the Mario fortieth anniversary sort of section of it.
And then they went in and they even kind of
broke up like that in the direct itself, and then
they went to all the other stuff, which had a
lot of release dates. We've been looking forward to some
third party stuff, some new Nintendo games, all sorts of things.
I think the sentiment to capture all of us on
the stream was a lot of us were quite underwhelmed,

(48:41):
not super vibing with it, a little disappointed with some
of the announcements or maybe some of the pricing of things,
and by the end of it, like, oh, that was fine,
because hoping for maybe a couple more things, maybe some
more surprises that kind of stuff, which is interesting because
then I've listened to some other podcasts or whatever impressions
of it, and seems the people super duper hot on this.

(49:01):
And as I've watched it again, as I was doing
so to take notes, went through it and it's like, yeah,
this actually is a.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
Pretty solid direct. I think I was missed.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Maybe it's because I woke up and was watching it
at six am or something, and that was like I
was extra unagreeable. I hadn't had my caffeine yet, so
I needed some higher quality things. Overall, I think there
could have been one or two more things personal to me.
There's just a lot of things in here that whole
cool or maybe not games I'm necessarily not picking up
and so that's maybe a point of disappointment. And then
one particular thing with contended search online that was kind

(49:29):
of a bummer for me. But there is at least
one in here that's like a huge, great announcement that
I'm excited to see. So overall, I think I'm more,
you know, maybe above average on it. I think it
was decent. I can see why it's a great direct
for a lot of people. For me, just on the
personal level, it's a little bit lower than that, but
still overall sawid direct and a lot of great announcements
that I'm excited to break down. You obviously were only

(49:50):
joined for a bit of that stream, so I only know,
you know, fifteen percent of your impressions or something. But yeah,
now that you've watched the rest of it and been
thinking about it for fete, is how you feeling about
this Nintendo Direct we got last week?

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Uh? Yeah, I think it's fine. I don't think there's
a lot in here that that really grabbed me. Grabbed me,
that's a weird word. You grappled me. It wrapped me.
Did all the above, Like, there was a lot of
interesting things in here, but there wasn't a whole lot
that was really swaying me to to the point of like, okay,

(50:24):
now it's my switch to time, you know, like I'm
gonna be jumping on on it now or just getting
super excited for some things. I think there was some
stuff in here that did look really fantastic. The thing
at the end actually was getting me pretty excited, and
uh yeah, no, I was pretty pumped for that. And yeah,
but overall, although there was a lot of good, good

(50:46):
looking stuff in here. It didn't have a lot of yeah,
just just stuff that was that was selling it for me.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Yeah, and I guess you're also not a switch to
owner yet, so obviously a lot of these things, well
you can still get hyped for them, are interested. Obviously,
there's just gonna be a little bit less buying naturally
because you're not on the platform, so that that definitely
comes into it too. Let's start with we'll go through
order on this one, through it in order on this
one Mario fortieth anniversar or the few things here. The

(51:13):
first thing to kicked it off with was they said
that the main thing to celebrate the Mario fortith anniversary
is the Mario movie, which you know, as a I
like the movie, but as a gamer first, I was
maybe hoping for something else as like the main course
of this Mario fortieth. But yeah, they showed off that
the Super Mario Galaxy movie. That's the official title, so

(51:34):
obviously that it gives us a lot of room to
speculate on what this sequel would look like. There was
a trailer, but I guess it was more of a teaser.
It didn't really show a whole lot and then along
with that, they kind of just did the weirdest thing
in my opinion, where they just like reconfirmed the cast
from the first movie, where instead normally this would be
a point where you'd be like, here are some of
the new actors appearing in this sequel movie, but instead

(51:55):
it was just like Chris Pratz back on his hit
It Always back, Jack Blo Is back, Like just a
weird call in my opinion, Like, I don't think anyone
expected that any of these people would leave, but it's
just not a very exciting thing to be like, oh, yeah,
these people are coming back for the sequel to this,
like a direct sequel order this thing. So that was
a bit unsurprising. And then Galaxy it had been leaked

(52:16):
a little bit, but only a few days before. But yeah,
how are you feeling about this that they're going all
the way up to space in the sequel here? Obviously
Rosalina or not Roseleana, but Peach, I think kind of
hints at it in the first movie. But now that
we have it confirmed, how do you how are you
feeling about that being the setting of the sequel here?

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Yeah, I'm really excited for it. I had a lot
of fun playing Super Mario Galaxy, specifically with Shay, Like
I didn't play the game beforehand, but once we started dating,
she had it on the Wii and they had the
little co op modes, so we were kind of playing
together and it was just a fun time there. And
it's just just a cool aesthetic, cool cool world. I

(52:53):
like the little Luna. That's what they're called, right, the
little lumah.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
Luma or Luma. It's Luma with an ani Luma.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Okay, those are cute little creatures. And yeah, no, I'm
I'm I'm excited. I I really enjoyed the Mario movie.
I think it's a fun time, so I'm expecting a
little bit more of the same and just, uh yeah,
it's cool. It's kind of where I thought we were
going anyways, just because of what was kind of hinted
at or for what I thought was hinted at from

(53:22):
the first movie. So not too surprised, but it's exciting
to see and just a good reminder of like we're
getting pretty close to it.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
Mm hmm. Yeah, Like I imagine they planned these things
out years in advance, and I'm guessing that line that
Peach had in the first one was directly referencing what
they were gonna do with the sequel. But I wonder
if that was the case. I wonder if when they
released that movie, obviously not knowing how huge would be.
Obviously if it bombed, maybe we wouldn't have gone a sequel.
I don't know, but it was a huge, billion dollar movie,
and so I wonder if in that moment they already
knew Galaxy was the sequel, or if they decided to

(53:51):
go that way after because interesting to me, Like I
feel like, with Yoshi being like the post credit tease
of that first time, I thought, maybe go like Yoshi's Island,
may go Super Mario World. That kind of introduced Yoshi
as well, right, But no, but we're we're going all
the way up to space, so that should be fun.
I'm curious to see if there's other what other people
are up there in space, because I feel like Galaxy

(54:12):
doesn't introduce a whole lot of new characters. But obviously
we know Jack Black is back, so like, I guess
he's just the villain again, and maybe there's a couple
like smaller side villain kind of things. But yeah, I'm
curious to see what other freaks we get in the
mix there, who makes it, who doesn't? And yeah, I
guess who we get for the new cast that'll be
fun as well, But yeah, excited for that. I'm just
not a ton to two on here. And then along

(54:32):
with that, they are officially bringing back Mario Galaxy one,
and then for the first time on the Switch and
Switch to bringing in Mario Galaxy two. So obviously for
the thirty fifth anniversary they did Super Mario three D
All Stars, which was Mario sixty four, Mario Sunshine and Galaxy,
but that was only a limited time thing. You can't
buy that anymore unless you find a physical copy you
had a used game store, game stop or something like that.

(54:55):
But yeah, they're bringing back Galaxy one in two as
a combo pack, and then also Galaxy one and two
you can just buy like individually as well. So obviously
for the people like me who bought All Stars, that
could just buy Galaxy two if we wanted to. And yeah,
I don't think there's really any changes to them. I
think they said most controls are going to be part
of it. I also I don't remember if those games
are wide screen originally, so like adding wide screen support,

(55:18):
not like an HD remaster or anything. It's pretty much
the support of them. Yeah, so those those are coming out, that's,
you know, good to have those on the platform. It
makes a lot of sense. I guess one thing I
should have mentioned at the top of this, because I
don't want to just do this all the time, but
one of my big bummers with this direct and like
just in the direct in the moment, but then more
so seeing all the news that came out afterwards, is
like there's a lot of just extremely egregious pricing for

(55:42):
a lot of stuff in here that really rubs me
the wrong way. And so rather than bringing that up constantly,
I'm just gonna say here at the top, like really
bothered by a lot of that stuff. But I don't
want this podcast to just me be complaining about prices
the whole time, because that's not super interesting. But that
was kind of part of this too, is that that
three D All Stars collection, you know, in US dollars
sixty sixty dollars for three games. Now this is like

(56:03):
sixty dollars for two games, so it's a little bit less,
and when they've already released before and then I don't
know what it would convert to if you just got
the individual versions. But kind of interesting choice there. I
wonder if they considered like releasing three D all Stars again,
but like bundling in Galaxy two. But they're probably gonna
make more money this way, so it makes sense to
go about it in this way. But it's cool that

(56:24):
you'll now with these four games coming, have every three
D Mario game on the Switch, like the entire catalog
of three D Mario games will just be available in
one platform, which is pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (56:35):
There's another thing.

Speaker 1 (56:35):
Oh yeah, the other thing was gonna add since the
three D all Stars happened, Mars sixty four and Sunshine
are just like on well, I guess Sunshine. I don't
think it's on the GameCube Service yet, but I think
it's coming at some point. I forget if they confirm that.
But sixty four is obviously playable there as well. So
other ways to play these games than just that three
D All Stars collection. Another thing they're doing is Mario
Wonder Switch two Edition, which has some new minigames and

(57:00):
some new levels. It appears some other random odds and
ends one of the minigames or a couple of mini games.
Looks kind of like Smash Bros. Type combat that you're doing.
So that's that's cool, that's fun. I like that as
a smash player, I will not be picking this up.
I you know, had a decent enough time with Wonder,
but I don't need to play more of it. So
that's the thing. What did you think about Mario Tennis?

(57:21):
Fevers is coming out February twelfth, so the first sports
game for the switch to. Yeah, how'd you feel about
this one? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (57:28):
I mean it looked really fun. It looks like there's
a lot of variety with the different rackets and stuff
that you can get along with the different characters. I
imagine it's like Mario. I can't remember if they answered it,
but I mentioned, like Mario Curry, we can kind of
choose your character and then your kart. Hey like like,
like the rackets seem very different. It's not like I'm
choosing Boo and I'm only getting that racket.

Speaker 1 (57:49):
I think you can. I think you can pick like individually,
so you can pick Peach and then do all the
different rackets with her. It seemed but it seems like
everyone maybe has one themed after them, But I don't
know if they have because they mentioned those like the
biggest ross or in the series history and maybe even
in the Mario sports game history with thirty eight characters.
So I don't know if they would have thirty eight
different rackets because that seems like a lot of different effects.

(58:09):
So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
I don't know if that's a quite a one to one.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
Yeah, I don't know, but it looks really fun. I
had a lot of fun with that other Mario Tennis
that we played multiple times and in the gauntlets. Well,
there's been a couple, hasn't there Because there was one
on the Switch.

Speaker 3 (58:24):
Release there was, Yeah, mar Tennis aces was like an
early Switch one, right, yeah, and then the game Cube
is that the other one.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
I mean, I think every platform has had a Mario
to Oh wow, it's out of the sports games, it's
probably the most common that in golf, I think has
been like even on the handhelds. I think there's been
a Mario Tennis on every everything since in sixty four,
I believe. And I think there's even a tennis game
on like Snees or something. I don't think it was
called Mario Tennis, but.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
Crazy like that.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
Yeah, Yeah, I mean it looks it looks really fun.
I think it'd be fun to play with friends. Yeah,
it could be a fun party game. So I am interested.
I'll keep an eye on this one. Not commiting yet.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
Yeah, I'm a little ah, what's the word.

Speaker 1 (59:09):
I guess disappointed is the basically easy word to use
a little disappoint with this for the one reason that
like it's almost like you know, with GTA, obviously with
GT six coming out, we're going back to Miami. We're
going back to Florida, and it's like it's like we've
been there before. You know, we did the Vice City
and then we got like our you know, we got
our LA with San Andreas. Then we went to New

(59:32):
York and then we kind of went back to LA,
and it's like now we're back to Miami, and then
I feel like by the next one, it's like, oh,
we haven't done New York in twenty years, so we're
gonna go back to New York. And then by that time,
it's like, oh, we haven't done LA in twenty years,
Let's go back to LA. And it just feels like
the cycle of like just kind of getting the same locations,
and I'm kind of worried. That's what's happening here where
with the switch one obviously the first sports game there

(59:52):
being Mario Tennis. I feel like with us already kind
of repeating that cycle now we're kind of back on tennis,
is like the next one we're gonna get, we're gonna
be an art Mario golf, and then maybe another Strikers.

Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
You know, obviously we're big Strikers.

Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Fans here, but like I just I kind of was
hoping that they would do something different, whether that's like
bring Sluggers back, which hasn't been out there for a while,
do a Mario football game like like American football, do
a Mario hockey game like obviously they've done through Sports
Mix and all these other games like they've had little
minigame versions of or like they had Basketball in the DS.
Like I was kind of hoping for something different, something fresh,

(01:00:24):
and then that hasn't been done a bunch. But obviously tennis.
The reason they keep doing is probably because it sells
the best. Maybe out of all the sports games that
in golf probably sell the best, so it makes sense
why they're doing it. But I'm just kind of unfortunately
looking at the cycle and being like, Okay, well it's
probably just gonna be golf next, I guess on the
switch too, and then we're just never getting anything new
and fresh, which is we're just too bad in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
But I think as for what this game actually is,
it looks great.

Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
I love having a big roster of Mario characters, because
this is one kind of like Mariocar World. We have
a lot of the freaks in there, which I love,
you know, I love my freaks. There's there's like some
of the rackets are crazy, like one of the ones
I really liked it was like a negative mode for
Boo where you have just like a black like kind
of reverse version of Boo in there, which looked really cool.
Change Shamp is one of the playable characters, which I

(01:01:08):
don't think it has been like ever in a sports
game maybe, and like his little chain's just kind of
falling behind him, looks super cute. And then there's even
like a full or what appears to be like a
full adventure mode here where a lot of characters are
transformed back into babies and then they have to like
work their way up again. I guess, and I feel
like and I could be wrong here, Mario historians let
me know, this might be the first canonical inclusion of

(01:01:30):
Baby the Wallawigi, who we saw in that cut scene,
because Baby Warrio has been around before. I think he
was in like that Doctor Mario Mobile game, but I
don't think we've ever got a baby Wallawigi before, so
it's of course a little bit cursed. But hell yeah,
chow its to baby Wallowigi get in his first appearance.
I wonder if that means he'll come to uh Marioco
World him and Warrior Baby. A couple baby versions there,

(01:01:50):
So that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
I really know my quick Google search.

Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
There you go, first time ever in Mario history baby
wall Owigi. So that's pretty hype as a Wallian. Moving
along to some other Mario news, so a bunch of
physical things. The Talking Flower from Wonder they're doing as
like a physical thing you and buy, which I don't
know why would ever want that in their home. One
thing that's cooler than that, though, is that they're doing

(01:02:16):
like a Rosalina Kid's book like from Galaxy, like the
story book that kind of tells a lot of the
narrative in those games. So that's really cute. One of
the things I thought was crazy to include in this
direct is like I guess there's like a Kyoto Marathon
happening this year, and there's getting there's like Mario bibbs
for the razors and that, which is all in Japan.

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
Yes, yeah, yeah, it disrupted my.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Purchasing of my certain tickets I had because of this
damn Kyoto fest.

Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
That's that's too bad.

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Yeah, I mean there's there's a lot of because I
think for a lot of the directs they do localized ones. Well,
they'll have like here's the japan director. Maybe it has
a couple different announcements, but usually it's the same with
a couple exceptions. But that seems like you can save
that for the Japanese direct, Like, I don't know if
anyone in North America needs to know about these racing bibs.
Another one and they showed off was like the Mario
Museum or the Antenno Museum, whatever it is, has like

(01:03:03):
a limited edition tickets. So are you going to get
one of these limited edition of tickets? Are you going
to this specific place? Because I think it's gonna happen
while you're there, right, I probably won't. Are you going
to partake in this race? Are you going to go
to this marathon.

Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
I cannot.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
I cannot. My life depended on it. I could not
compete in this race.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
So there you go a bunch of weird physical odds
and ends. And then the other new announcement for Mario game,
Mario Ish is a Yoshi and the Mysterious book coming
out spring of next year, is what they've said here.
This is a looks like a sequel to Yoshi's Story,
which was the n sixty four game, because obviously we've
had Yoshi's wullly world, Yoshi's crafted world, and this is

(01:03:44):
kind of in that ballpark, but it seems more of
that storybook style which maybe those games had. I haven't
played them. This game looked really cute. I love the
kind of intentionally lower frame rate gives it like a
bit of a stop motion y kind of vibe, like
cardboard cutouts, which Yoshi kind of always has. But I
feel like for me, you know, Nintendo obviously is like
a family friendly console. Mario is something that can be

(01:04:05):
enjoyed for five year olds all the way up to
two hundred year old how whatever, the oldest person is
one hundred and twenty seven years old or something like that.
Anyone in that range can enjoy Mario, and I feel
like for other Nintendo franchises it kind of varies, like
maybe Splatoons like a bit older. Maybe maybe Kirby is
like younger, like you know, five to twelve or whatever.
But I think Yoshi is like kind of the designated

(01:04:27):
like baby games, like this is your great first time
ever playing a video game. It seems like you play
this because this trailer looked like the lowest octane platformer
I've ever seen in my life. It just didn't look
like fun at all to me, And I know there's
an audience for it, but I don't think this game
is for me. I love Dyoshi's story as a kid
on the n sixty four, but this this one's not

(01:04:49):
for me, even though it looks really cute to just
gameplay wise, seems a little too basic for my liking.
I think I need a little bit more dopamine receptors
being hit when I'm playing a video game, and this
doesn't not seem like it's doing that for me.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Yeah, no, I completely agree. It didn't really do much
to move the needle.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
I don't love the title Yoshi and the Mysterious Book,
like just call it Yoshi's Story.

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Yoshi's Story any page. Yeah, I don't like this this title.

Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
That was kind of the end of the Mario specific stuff,
so we can kick it along. The first game after
that was Storm Lancers, which is kind of like a
cell shaded art style two D roguelike game. The thing
that stowed to me about this and comparing each other
roguelikes is the co op factor of it, and that's
an out now, out now today kind of game for them.

(01:05:42):
You mentioned that you like this one on the stream, Kirkland,
any any other thoughts on Storm Lancers.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
I mean the co op that's always gonna, you know,
be interesting to meet, a little couch co op experience.
And just like the colors looked so cool and very
vibrant to it just looked like a fun time. So
it kind of checked a bunch of boxes on a
title or franchise I didn't really have any interest in.
And I feel like it's always a good signing because

(01:06:11):
I'm usually pretty selective of the things I am jumping on,
but whenever something can really just get my interest level,
I'm gonna be intrigue because I feel like it's a
good sign. Like Cult the Lamb. That was a big
one for me, where like the first time I saw it,
I'm like, Okay, what is this game? I gotta get
in there, And then here I am all these years later.
I absolutely love that game. So I could definitely see

(01:06:32):
this one crossing.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Was this just a regular switch game probably.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
I assume, yeah, yeah, I didn't see anything about switch
to only, so I think it's me, I don't know,
a little bit more excited.

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
Actually, yeah, cool throwing the wish list. Next up was
a absolutely insane one two punch of Dinkum into pop
a Cum Poppycum, which are two games with absolutely wild titles.
Dinkham is like pretty much Australian animal. Uh, it is
kind of the vibe there. This actually a demo and

(01:07:03):
I downloaded that and played a little bit of it,
which I gotta say, the start of this game is
absolutely wild. You don't start in this beautiful, id like island.
You start in like a depressing, cold, snowy world. Everyone's
depressed and it's like in this world everyone has had
to go south and this this is me paraphrasing now,
it's like this world sucks and no one has the
motivation to better their life. And everyone's just super sad

(01:07:26):
doing like the the you know, Michael Sarah, like walking
with his head down kind of thing. And then it's like,
but you are different, and there's this one lady who
wants to go to the island of Dincom and needs
a research assistant. You apply for the job, and that's
like then and then you get sent off to the island.
So it's a pretty quick sequence, but like, fuck, this
is a crazy volume.

Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
I was expecting.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
It's like the opening to fire Watch, where it's just like,
why am I like crying all of a sudden, right.

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
It was absolutely insane.

Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
And then like as soon as I got dropped on
the island area, I was like on a smaller, tiny
little island off the bigger island, and I immediately it's like, oh,
put this tent down somewhere, so I'll go put on
the main lengths.

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
This tiny island is not gonna be good enough.

Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Walk into the water. A huge shark immediately starts attacking me,
Like this game is crazy, Like this is not what
I expected at all, So I think I didn't die.
It's not that punishing in a game. I just got
out of the water and after it nibbled me a
few times and then wait for it to leave and
then got back on the mainland there. So yeah, pretty crazy,
But honestly it looks looks like a totally solid kind
of life sim animal crossing light game, Starry Valley type thing.

(01:08:27):
I think there's probably a co op in there, so
check it out. There's a demo of if you want
to visit some of that. And then yeah, popcom was
like kind of a three D crazy game. I had
all sorts of weird mini games in there, but almost
look like a three D Match three at first, and
then there's like these splatoony type looking characters going through
all sorts of different puzzles. Seems very co op focused.
That's coming out this winter. I think that game actually

(01:08:49):
looks really cool. If I had the right person to
play co op with, I might check that one out.
So yeah, any any thoughts on those two games?

Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Uh, really interesting titles by not much more than that.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
For me personally, the co op.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Of popacumb wasn't speaking to you as a maybe you
and Shay game.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Not off the cuff.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
I feel like, I don't know, maybe I'd be surprised.
I'll shore the trailer and then and see which she feels.
But yeah, I might have to be convinced to get
that one.

Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Next up is a game that we had got an
announcement of previously, but just kind of confirming I guess, well,
it doesn't have a release date here, but Tom Dauci
Life Living the Dreams coming out Spring twenty twenty six.
This is one of the switch one games. This and
Rhythm Heaven are a couple more like first party Nintendo
Switch one games that we know are happening. Uh so
we kind of knew this was coming at some point.

Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Crazy game.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
I've not played the originally, think goes the three DS game. Originally,
it's pretty much like you're just making mees. You're dropping
this crazy world and like just insane things happen and
weird things happen, and it seems like very funny. It
seems like a lot of people that create their friends
or create like celebrities with the me you know, through
the mees and then just watch all these antics happen.
Seems like a very funny game, seems like it has
a good sense of humor to it. I don't think

(01:10:02):
I'll be picking it up personally, but I know there's
a lot of people that are really excited for this one.
So that's coming out spring of next year. Maybe I
forget if we've talked about this one, But what do
you think about the Mortal Kombat Legacy collection that's coming
out next month, and that is a collection of a
bunch of Mortal Kombat games. I don't know if you've
seen a trailer for that one yet. So what did
you think of this scene it here? As a fan

(01:10:24):
of the series, I.

Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
Thought it was really cool. I think it did a
good job. It's just kind of capturing the elements of
I feel like majority of people that played games have
experienced a Mortal Kombat experience and like you know, at
some point in their lives, whatever game it might be,
it's just popped up in so many eras of gaming
that it just seems like a good place to kind

(01:10:46):
of like bring anyone together, Like if you had only
played the Saga one, or if you had only played
the Super Odd PS two Mortal Kombat Apocalypse I think
is what it was called. Stuff like that, like just
just to get characters from that I think is really cool.
And U I mean, they've just established this this long
run of games, so they have such a a just

(01:11:08):
a catalog of things to pull from, and yeah, it
seems really cool. It It's should be unexpected. I think,
like it should be one of those things where it's like, oh, wow,
they finally did it. But I didn't really feel that way.
So I was I was pleasantly surprised by this, And
I don't know, I think I could see myself getting it,
but I'm not going to race to it, like maybe, yeah,
I don't know, maybe in the future, because it's also

(01:11:29):
like getting it on the switch. Would be fun to
be able to play it kind of anywhere, you know
what I mean, Like, like it's just the accessibility of
it would be fun. And yeah, I thought it was
really cool.

Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
Yeah, it'd be fun to have for one of the streams.
Sometimes go back and play some of these absolutely Mortal Kombats,
which I'm sure would be good, yanky fun and yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
They're super super hard.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
I replayed Mortal Kombat too, maybe on the Sega a
couple of years ago. Man, it like you're talking about
Tony Hawk pro skater. These Moral Kombat games don't fuck brutal.

Speaker 1 (01:11:59):
Yeah, this is what I'm gonna someday, like the Mortal
Kombat stuff like one even eleven. Like these games go
pretty deep discount pretty often, so someday I will pick
this one up. And yeah, I think, as you mentioned,
like there's a couple of the weird games in there,
Like I think they had a couple like third person
like action games back in the day that I think
suck and bombed and people didn't like them, but like
it's those are great games to put into collection like

(01:12:20):
this alongside the games that people actually want to play,
just so someone can play it for you know, ten
minutes and be like, oh, yeah, this game is super weird,
but at least it's in there, and obviously having some
of the documentary stuff in there too is really cool.
Digital Eclips, I believe, is the developer of this, and
they've been doing a lot of these great collections, so
I'm sure they're gonna crush it with this one. And yeah,
like I said, I'll pick it up someday. So looking
forward to that one next up on Fay seven, finally

(01:12:42):
coming out in January linked Ben Or the Spark is
out now and then Haities two. So this is a
big one where this game has been in early access
for a year, a few months something like that. With
this trailer here is when they finally announced that it's
coming out one point zero September twenty fifth, and it
is around Steam as well, same day as it's early
access there. But also it's a console exclusive to Switch

(01:13:04):
when it launches, which is a pretty big deal because
that game was huge and people love it and so
to have and I think even Haites one is on
the Game Pass right now. I'm sure it was on
PS Plus at some point.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
I think it is on there.

Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
Yeah, so pretty crazy that this game's launching like exclusive
onto Switch. I think Switch and Switch too, I think
both of them. So that's a really good get for
Nintendo to have this exclusive over there. I'm sure it's
gonna blow up.

Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
And do do numbers. I'm not really a Hades fan.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
I played it years later and just don't really vibe
with the gameplay or the art and all that, but coldly, hell,
this fucking cut scene was godlike. Like, this trailer was amazing,
one of the best trailers I've seen in a while,
Like just the not necessarily the gameplay aspect of it,
but just like the crazy animations and combat that was happening,
and this character just looks like the coolest character ever.
So they did a good job of like almost selling

(01:13:50):
me on it. You know, I'd maybe check it out
some day if it does it a game pass or something.
But man, I was just thinking about this, like Hades
two Silk Song just coming out mean to the hollower,
you know. The next follow up is from the shovel
Night team, like pretty crazy fall for like indie games
like those are three monster indie game. Well, mina, we'll
have to see if it ends up being a monster
like shovel Night was. But between those three, man, that's

(01:14:10):
like a huge indie game, like Triple A indie game,
the Triple I indie game Fall. So pretty cool that
Hades is coming out pretty soon here.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
Yeah, I know, I've yet to play the Haites franchise
any of the games, which would just be the one
out right now game of the year, Right, did one
game of the year that year?

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Did it somewhere somewhere? Not a Game Wars, but somewhere?

Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Okay, anyways, uh yeah, no, I I thought this trailer
looked so good as it was going along, because I
I don't think they said it at the beginning of
the trailer, but I'm like, man, this is totally Hades
vibes like that, like whatever this is, this looks so interesting,
and then and then just seeing the characters look really
cool and then' like okay, no it is it is
Hades two because back in my mind, I just thought
Haites two had already come out because it's been an

(01:14:53):
early access for so long. But yeah, it definitely makes
me at least want to try the first. And I
do want to see if I have it on the
catalog because I remember it came across there at some point,
whether it was just on the the like the extras
for a limited time because they do cycle games in
and out of that, or if it was a monthly.
I I just remember adding it to my library at

(01:15:15):
some point in time, and definitely makes me want to
to try that one out at least before you know,
I go a full full swing on Heats two.

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
Yeah. Yeah, Next up Kirby air Riders. Not much here
in the Wave gameplay, but they announce him in AMBO.
They also announced that another direct is coming for this game,
which is crazy because that first direct for it was
forty five minutes long. But you know, the reason more buttons,
more buttons showcase, yes, tell us more buttons somehow, But
I mean the reason this is happening is because like
Sakarai makes these and like edits them himself, right, Like,
it's not like Nintendo is paying someone to do like

(01:15:45):
they obviously pay sacked They might not even pay Sackery
to make that direct.

Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
He might just do it because he wants to market
his game that he's making.

Speaker 1 (01:15:51):
So I don't know. I will watch every second of
it and love how crazy it is and want to
play the game, but I don't know if I'll be
picking it up. And then the other little note there
is that they announced that the Nintendo app, which the
Nintendo Today app, they launched this sometime this year, which
every day if you go on this app, there's a
new announcement of some sort. Not necessarily announcements. Sometimes it's
just like here's a three D render of the switch

(01:16:12):
to JOYCN, like it's weird stuff. But sometimes they do
have announcements, like they announced a new Splatoon game on
there that was not shown off in.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
This direct weirdly enough.

Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
Sometimes there's some crazy stuff, but one of the things
they announces that like there's gonna be a Kirby theme
getting added to it, and then they're gonna do like daily.

Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
Updates for Kirby air Riders.

Speaker 1 (01:16:29):
Which the reason I wanted to bring this up is
because back in the day, I don't know if you
know this, Kirkland, but there was a website called the
smash Bro's Dojo. When Brawl was announced, there was a
smash Bro's Dojo which like just had like a page
for characters, page for items, paid for, stages, paid for mechanics,
and every single day there would be one new piece
of information on this website. And as a kid in

(01:16:49):
middle school who was a diehard Smash fan, I would
go on there every single morning before school and see
what is the new piece of information? Are they gonna
announce a new character today? Are they gonna announce a
new item, new stage? You're always hoping it's gonna be
a new character. I remember when Sonic was announced, It's like,
holy hell, that's insane, Like all the all the stuff
when they finally showed off these characters was it was
like crazy information. And so it's really cool that's happening

(01:17:12):
for Kirby, but more so it's it's made me realize that. Man,
when the next Smash is announced, I bet he's gonna
do the same thing here with daily updates on there.
He's gonna bring the Smash dojo back. He didn't do
it for Smash four, didn't do it for Ultimate, but
I am already excited for that, and if it doesn't happen,
I will be disappointed because that would get me to
use that app every single day. So please do it, Nintendo.

(01:17:33):
So I just had to shout that out a little anecdote.
I rle Warriors Age of Imprisonment. The Uh yeah, that's
coming out over November six. I don't think we had
that release date, so we were waiting for that one.
So that's coming out soon.

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
Dragon Quest seven Reimagined is coming out in February of
next year, which I think this is a new announcement.
But it's crazy, man, like with the Dragon Quest three
HD two D and then the one plus two HD
two D and now this, like they're just pumping out
these these things in This has a different style. It's
not the two D HD style, but I think this
looks gorgeous. This is on the wish list someday I

(01:18:05):
will definitely pick this up and play this. I've not
played seven. I love the art style here, except for
the one guy who looked like Lord Farquad who did
not fit in with the cast at all, But everyone
else I thought it looked super cute and great. It
has that Toriama style, the dragon Quest style, super colorful, vibrant.
It seems like they've streamlined the story. I know this
game's like one hundred hours long, but maybe that means
they've shortened it and made it more compact someday. I'm

(01:18:28):
looking forward to playing this version because I think this
h This looked great.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Yeah, looked fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
I'm just expecting to see like a dragon Quest every
time I get like every year.

Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
Essentially, it's just like they're you know, they're they're in
a role.

Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
Yeah and yeah, maybe that new one will come out
like literally the when are were on eleven twelve? Whatever
it is? Who knows where that's happened someday. So next
up was an update for Nintendo Switch Online, which is,
of all things, the Virtual Boy, the Nintendo VR console
from like the eighties or whatever, the kind of faux

(01:19:04):
VR you know. This is coming out February seventeenth, along
with this they're they're bringing back the peripheral that you
need for the virtual which is the ugliest looking thing
you'll ever see in your life. So there's the plastic version,
or there's like a cheaper labo like cardboard version you
can get as well. They say you need these to
use these games, but like, I'm guessing there's not like
some weird soft lock on the heartlight that you would

(01:19:26):
need to connect it to the hardware. I'm guessing you
can just boot them up and they'd probably be weird
because of the three D effect if you just played
them in two D like on your regular switch handhelder
on a TV. But I'm guessing they're not gonna lock
that information out. I think this is really cool from
like the conservation of games media pretty much like you know,
it's cool that these games which are kind of lost

(01:19:46):
of time are gonna have time to shine again. And
I know some people are excited about this, but for me,
as a subscriber of Switch online and knowing that this
is like the update we're getting for next year, is like, yeah,
Like I'll try these games out and I'll probably spend
you know, two minutes or each of them, and then
like move on with my life. It's like not really
what I wanted from the service. I was hoping for
either more just confirmations of games coming to game Tubrand

(01:20:09):
sixty four or like the next console.

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
I don't know what that would be.

Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
But like, obviously now it's a virtual boy, which is
cool for like the history of it, but not really
that cool in terms of like this is what I
pay a monthly for, Like just kind of disappointing in
that way. So I'm happy for the people that are
excited for this, but I'm not buying this. I'll try
the game's two D version when they hit the service,
just to say I have But that's the most I

(01:20:33):
can say about this. Unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Yeah, I just didn't do anything for me. This was
the I feel like part of the watch along. We
were joking it's like, well, at least there's no cardboard
labo stuff in here. And then like on on the
dot that this came out and it looked pretty cool,
you know, like like if I was if I was
at a friend's house and they had it, like Okay,

(01:20:56):
let let's see what this thing does. But never what
I kick or never can I see myself really going
out and seeking this out and.

Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Just has me wondering who this is really targeted for.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
Yeah, like like who who's gonna be doing that if
they're just looking for really unique ways of playing old,
old classic game Like I don't know, it's it's weird.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
Yeah, And to me, it doesn't seem like it really
fits well with the Nintendo Switch online format, Like I
feel like they should have done this as and this
could have been like a connection with the Mario fortieth
you know, you promote some of the Mario games that
exist for that virtual boy, because I think it would
have made more sense as like you know how they
did the NES Classic and the SNES Classic.

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
I think this sort of made more sense.

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
As that, Like just you buy the peripheral, it comes
with the games packed in. You plug it in. It's
kind of a cheaper version than it was back in
the day. You can play it, have the oddity of it.
But to me, it like you have to you have
to be subscribed to this service this monthly or I
guess you don't buy it as a yearly service. So
if you buy the hardware, you just can't do anything

(01:21:54):
with it unless you're also subscribed to the service, which
someday will inevitably like not exist anymore. So it just
feels like kind of a miss in that way too,
especially if it's only.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Like fourteen games.

Speaker 1 (01:22:03):
Like I feel like they should have just done it
as a separate thing and not plugged it in such
online because I just don't feel like this really ads
a lot of value to the service. But I guess
they're running out of consoles to do because like obviously
DS three DS is tricky because of the double screens.
We I guess they could get away with it with
like the motion controls because their joy cons do have that,
but it might be a bit unelegant. So I understand

(01:22:25):
why they've done this choice here, but like, I don't know,
I would have been hyped for Dreamcast if they did it,
because obviously they have the Genesis on there. Give me
the freaking Dreamcast or something like there's some weird games
on there.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
It would have been cool. But anyway, that's that's that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:39):
One. One thing I was excited for though, is early
twenty twenty six is Fatal Frame two Crimson Butterfly remake.
So I've never played a Fatal Frame game, but I
really like what it is, like just this weird Japanese
Nintendo horror series that's kind of like under the radar,
pretty low key. I've never played these games. This This

(01:23:00):
looked gorgeous, like I love the arts doll because it's
got a fresh coat of paint, but it still has
this kind of retro lower res style to it, like
it's extremely stylish. The cut scenes look great. It looks freaky.
So I as a as someone who's been getting deeply
into horror games the last few years, I'm pretty intrigued
by this. I put the first one this kind of
reminded me of the first one. Got like a remaker

(01:23:21):
remaster recently, and I put that on my wish list.
So cool to see fatal frames still existing. I wonder
if they'll do a new one at some point. If
these are this, then the other one I have been successful.
I mean, if they did a remake of this after
that last remaster, that one must have done decent numbers,
so we'll see what happens there.

Speaker 3 (01:23:37):
But cool, kind of weird oddity.

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
Yeah, I know, I had never heard of the series before.
It looked really creepy and just creepy.

Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Yeah, some switch to versions are coming from few games
one piece, overcooked, Stardew Valley is getting mouse controls, which
is which is cool, and then Human Fall Flat, so
there you go, and then Powerwashed Theater is para Washerton
there two. I should say it's coming out soon or
might be out now. Sweek of Game Planet, which that
was like a weird, sweaky game where like randomly came

(01:24:09):
out and was like huge. It's like a weird little
Arcadie tetrisy kind of thing. So this is kind of
like that, but like almost like a Mario Galaxy version
where it's like a three D thing now or other
than just like dropping things directly downwards. So that's cool
for people who are into that. Next up was Metroid
Prime four, which finally got its release date of December fourth,
so it is finally coming out this year. What did

(01:24:30):
you think of this spicy new trailer for Metro Prime.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Yeah, it was exciting to finally be able to see something.
I while watching this, it was reminding me of the
Metro game that I played on Nintendo DS, not even
three DS or anything like way back in the day, Hunters.
I think it was Hunters because I remember playing it
with friends and just just the gameplay reminded me of that,

(01:25:00):
and just like the sound effects was like reminding me
of that and some some happy memories in there, and.

Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
That's kind of where it ended.

Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
Honestly, I was surprised that it didn't have a lot
in here to really sell me on it. It seemed just,
I don't want to say dated, but just like like
a different era of gaming for me while watching this,
and not really what I personally would have wanted for
like just having so much build up to it. But
I don't know, like maybe other people are getting super super.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Jazz for this.

Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Maybe I'm just not a metroid fan like I thought
I was. I don't know, there's something in the trailer
that just didn't really do it for me.

Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
Yeah. Yeah, I've been kind of on the fence with
this game and just like anxiously waiting for more information,
and I think with this trailer we got to see,
I guess a bit more of the visual des I'm
obviously the big new highlight here was that Samas has
a bike and there are kind of like these open
world sequences, But the bike didn't look very fun to drive,
and the open world sequences looked boring as hell. I

(01:25:58):
also think the visuals of this looked quite bad, to
just be honest. I don't know if they were showing
like the Switch one version or something. But I've been
on the fence. I think I'm officially jumping off the
fence and I'm not picking up this game. I love
Dread and I've played a few of the two I've
played I think every two D Metroid game, and I
really like that series. Prime I've only played a bit

(01:26:19):
of it, so it's like, obviously, it's like not really
my sub series, but I do love first person shooters,
so there's potential here. Some the other trailers had intriguing
stuff in them, but I was waiting for a bit more,
and this trailer just I thought it just looked really bad.
So I'm unfortunately out on this one. I'm wondering if
this game is gonna also get a direct. You know,
they've been doing a lot for Marco World, Donkey Kong, Bonanza,
Kirby getting two of them, so I feel like this

(01:26:41):
game it could use one. But also I feel like
Metroid is such a mysterious series that I don't I
feel like you don't want to show too much, but
I feel like they probably will do a direct for
this one. Maybe not forty five minutes like Sacrize Kirby ones,
Maybe just like ten fifteen minutes show off how the bike,
how the open world works, some of the mechanics, and
maybe I could get resold on it. But this game

(01:27:03):
just not doing it for me, unfortunately. I will I
gotta ask you, what did you think of Samus's design.
It's kind of like more red than orange, and it's
kind of more like hybrid black and red rather than
just like one solid color. It's kind of been used
in more recent designs of the character, but this red
version is kind of new for this game. And yeah,
I'm curious what you think of the visual design of it.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
I liked it.

Speaker 2 (01:27:26):
I thought it fit the just just the color palettes
that were shown. I don't know, it seemed less like
classic Arcadie than it normally.

Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Is, so I liked it overall.

Speaker 1 (01:27:41):
Yeah, I feel like Dread was a very red kind
of game, so this almost feels like a more like
visual identity for the series now. Yeah, but I love
me my Salmon's orange, so I was a little little
I'm not really liking the new design a whole up,
but maybe it'll always in the game you get different
suits and things change up. You always get the purple
suits or whatever. So yeah, we'll see what that looks like.
But yeah, that is finally coming out of December fourth.

(01:28:02):
I'm glad that it's finally coming out, and I'm excited
for the people that are excited for it. I'm excited
to get those impressions of it. But yeah, I think
I am officially out on Metro Prime four beyond. Unfortunately.
Next up is donkey Kong Bananza is getting its first
and maybe only DLC called DK Island plus Emerald Rush.
It's out now out a few days ago. They have

(01:28:25):
the direct So this is adds one new layer, which
is don Ykong Island, which can go around. It's got
the theme from Don Kong sixty four, So they're tugging
on my heart strings there showing off that same giant
DK head Island that of course in don Kyong sixty
four some references. And then Emerald Rush is like a
roguelike kind of mode or you're smashing up stuff, You're
getting different upgrades and then you're smashing more stuff collecting gems.

(01:28:48):
I this is the one time where I'll break my
rule of complaining about pricing. So don Kung Bonanza Kirkland
in Canadian dollars with tax was one hundred and ten
dollars for me to purchase that game. This is coming
out two months later, less than two months later, an
extra thirty five dollars for this, which is one layer

(01:29:11):
and a roguel like mode that doesn't look that good.
And this isn't like a season past situation where there's
more come in so extreme it seems like extremely overpriced.
I've been reading some impressions of it on the subreddit
cause Obvious out now, and almost everyone is like, yeah,
this kind of sucks, or yeah this is fine, but
like way overpriced, and so I just think this is
like kind of grimy, And like the comparison I've seen

(01:29:33):
people make is that in Mario Odyssey, the post like
once you beat the game, the last level of you
unlock is like a Princess Peach like Mushroom Kingdom level,
and it's a very basic level. There's not a lot
to it, but it's kind of more like a victory
lap or like a little fun little bonus on top.
And it kind of seems like that's what this is
for this because it doesn't seem like a very intense layer.
It compared to other layers in the games is pretty basic,

(01:29:55):
and so it kind of just feels like, well, shouldn't
this kind of be that fun little post game like, hey,
you're just your relax, you go back, you chill, But
instead they ripped it out and charge for it. And
I think the other grimy part about this for me,
and this is a bit of rumor has but to hearsay,
so maybe call me out for this. Apparently this game
was done quite a long time ago, or has been
done for a while, and they kind of held it

(01:30:16):
back obviously to release it as a switch to game
because it wasn't working super well and switched once they
had to make it a switch two game, And so
it seems like this game has been done for a while,
and so naturally it seems like this mode and this
new island have probably been done like even before this
game came out, and so they obviously just kind of
like stripped it out to sell it as DLC later,
which a lot of games do that. It obviously is
pretty common, it has been commonplace for a long time,

(01:30:37):
but for a game that was already one hundred and
ten fucking dollars seems extremely egregious for me, so I
would have liked to play this obviously. I'm so nostalgia
for n sixty four Donng Kong sixty four that like, man,
I really want to get in there and see what
it's all about. But yeah, this just seems ridiculous. So
I'm not gonna buy it, not gonna support it and

(01:30:59):
do better in him know this is this is gross
and nasty and bad.

Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
No, that's nuts.

Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
I always hate like DLCs that are already on the
release of the game, like it's just it's just so
just so ridiculous, and it sounds like that's pretty much
the case here and just just having the prices of
what they're at, it's just nuts to me.

Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
I'll always look back on the Great Witcher three.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
And they you know, they had two fantastic dealcs that
were like Massive Mass.

Speaker 1 (01:31:27):
Project pops off, Yeah, and like Vauly they give you
a whole new game.

Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
Those are like fifteen bucks, you know what I mean,
Like like with how much extra content you get for
fifteen dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:31:38):
The same with like the Cyberpunk Liberty Oh yeah, City Phantom.

Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
Yeah, Phantoantom, Phantom Liberty was like a huge.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
DLC, which exactly, it's cool they do that, and then
you get this and be like this ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
Yeah. Next up was a bit of a surprise for me,
so Pokemon Pocopeia coming out twenty twenty six. So it's
funny when we were watching this during during the watch line,
I think you and Taylor had dipped at this point
this game. First of all, me and Trevs were like,
what the hell is going on here? Because it's like
a Ditto is there, and a Ditto transforms into this child,

(01:32:14):
which is like a you know, nightmare fuel kind of thing,
and then it goes into like what is essentially like
a Pokemon Minecraft, like you're just building up a little town,
and rather than having like different tools and things like that,
it's like the different Pokemon and their elemental abilities or
their attributes, those are the things that are helping you
do this kind of stuff. So obviously, use squirtle to
water your plants, use bubble sort of like start a

(01:32:38):
or sorry not use bubble sort of you know, plant things,
squirtled water things. Use charmander to like you know, mike
a campfire or whatever. Maybe you could use like a
sea sort of like chop down trees. You could use
I forget the name of them, a little digging Pokemon
to like dig up crops and so you can plant stuff.
So really great idea is super cute. I think the
graphics are gorgeous in this I love it. I I

(01:33:00):
want to pick this game up. I'm weird with Pokemon,
where like I'll, you know, I'll play a mainline game
every once in a while and it's like it's fine,
but it's kind of the same thing. But I just
kind of impulse bot Pokemon Snap the new one when
that came out on the Switch, and loved it. And
I think for me, it's like the combat in Pokemon
is fine and it's kind of always the same and
you kind of get the idea of it and it
gets kind of boring after a while. And I like

(01:33:22):
that this game seemingly has like no combat and it's
just like what I love about Pokemon is like I'm
nostalgic for the original one fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
This game has a lot of them, and I just
think it's like a cute, low key, vibing world.

Speaker 1 (01:33:33):
This game looks gorgeous, so like, I don't know, I
might buy this, Like I it has that Pokemon snap
aesthetic to it, which is like I just want to
be in a cute, fun, happy world where nothing bad happens,
and I just want to build up this cute town.
I've always loved the look of a Pokemon town, and
now you even like build one up from scratch. There was
like a Pokemon center at some point, and like that
just seems great. So I don't know how much compares

(01:33:55):
to Minecraft in terms of like the the scale of it,
Like are these world Is this like an infinite world
you can build forever? I'm gonna guess know, So I
have to, you know, definitely wait and see impressions or
get more info on it. But like I though this
game looked great. This is kind of exactly what I
personally want from Pokemon. So I could see myself picking
this one up. And uh, yeah, I'm wondering what you
thought of it. As someone who's kind of into games

(01:34:16):
like this, I feel like, I don't know if Shaye
is a Pokemon person, but this is right up her
ally for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:34:21):
Yeah, no, one hundred percent. I think that's that would
be the way that we purchased this one, is if
she superre.

Speaker 1 (01:34:28):
You just co op in there? Did they say anything about.

Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
It, I can't remember if they did say that or not,
but just the trailer itself, it just looked like a
mix up of like some animal crossing with Pokemon in there,
and like she got absolutely obsessed with animal crossing. So
I think it would be right up their alley or
up her alley. It looks really cute, and I don't know,
it's just a different Pokemon type game that I'm used

(01:34:50):
to seeing. And although I'm not like super into Pokemon
like I used to be, I still love, you know,
I still like Pokemon. I like especially the classic book
one that I can at least identify. See my charmanders
in there, my squirtles, my my bulbole sores, like I
always love those guys. So yeah, I thought it looked
pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
Nice. Yeah, I think, uh, because you know, a lot
of people I'm talking about like is Animal Cross and
people have been theorizing or I don't know, necessarily rumors,
but people just kind of theorizing that maybe an animal
crossing new Animal Cross is gonna come out next year
or something. I wonder if that's the case, Like between
Tomadacci Life and I like, dan Come is a smaller
one for sure, But then this which is very Animal

(01:35:32):
Crossing me like, I don't know. To me, it feels
like they're almost trying to fill the void a little
bit of like, yeah, Animal Crossing is still few us away,
and so like we're gonna get some other games coming
in the door that are kind of similar to that
and like fill that niche. And like if you are
a switch to owner and you want games like Animal Crossing,
we don't have that for.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
You, but here's what we got. You can check out
these other games instead.

Speaker 1 (01:35:50):
So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:35:51):
My theory right now is that Animal Crossing is so
kind of far away.

Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
We'll see. I'd love to be proven wrong about that.
Let's take our last ad break of the show and
then we'll start speeding run through. I have notes for
all this stuff, and man, we still have a lot
to get through, so we'll kind of speed run through it.
So we'll be right back. All right, we are back
after Pokemon was another Pokemon I got z A. I
think it already had a release date, but mid October

(01:36:14):
that's coming out. They confirmed with this there's DLC coming.
So you know, however you feel about that announcing DLC
for a game that's not out yet, you know whatever,
Mega Rischew X and Y is like a new thing
going on here. They didn't really show much of the DLC.
They just kind of showed those two characters and then
like talk that about it being a thing. So we'll
see what the setting is. If it's still in the
city or something different. Let's see.

Speaker 3 (01:36:37):
I'll just plo out through these Degan Rampa two times two, which.

Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
Is a great name for a remake in my opinion
of that. Dynasty Warriors Origins coming out or is out,
Monster Hunters Stories three, which I know some people are
excited about. Dis Guy is seven EA Sports FC, Dragon
Quest one and two. Those remakes that's reconfirmed come out
and I think early next year. So as you mentioned
Dragon Quest just everywhere, Virtual Fight of five Lego Voyagers

(01:37:01):
is coming out and just I think it's actually out today.
That's that co Op one that looks super cute, so
looking forward to that one. The Little Lightmare's three is
on the switch now. Persona three reloads on the switch
now and or at least the demos at now. They
confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem which is coming out obviously
February twenty seventh to forty knew that is coming out
on the switch too, and there was actually kind of
some new footage here to my eye, some new footage,

(01:37:24):
and one of them was the main character who I
can't even remember the name of, but she was like
walking around a populated city, which sounds like a small detail,
but like, you don't do that in Resident Evil, Like
it's always like you're in a raccoon city which is
burning to the ground, or it's a world where like
there's just dead people and zombies everywhere, and so her
just walking around like a regular ass city and going

(01:37:44):
into a building is like a crazy thing to me. Like,
I don't know if that's just a cut scene. I
assume it kind of is, but if you actually get
to like walk around cities and stuff, like, I don't know,
it seems like an interesting detail that I can't think
has been done in a Reside Evil game before. I know.
There's like other cut scenes like people in like an
office building just talking about news and stuff, and it's
like just different vibes here. And obviously then you get
into like a creepy motel where the power goes out

(01:38:07):
and all the things you typically expect to happen. So
I like the new footagechair. I thought it was actually
the best trailer we've seen for the game so far,
So shout outs to the game for doing that. And
then Residin Eevil seven and Air also come to the
Switch to the same day, I think, so that kind
of new trilogy is all popping up on the Switch,
which is cool because I think the Switch already has
a ton of those games on there, so good console
for Resident Evil. Any any thoughts on the ri stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
I mean, I thought it was it was a cool trailer.
I'm liking more and more what I'm seeing for for
this new, newer Resident Evil. And yeah, and I Spooky
Season's coming. I'm I'm gonna I think I'm gonna attempt
to jump into to a Risin level game. Uh, Resin
Evil two is not on my my games pass anymore,

(01:38:51):
so I can't jump into that one, but I do
have like bile Hazard's such a bad one to jump
into first. I kind of want to build up courage
for that one. But maybe it'll be Biohazard but Age.

Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
If not, two and three is a little combo pack.
I think I've Recollected You Before would be really really good.

Speaker 1 (01:39:07):
The remakes there or just RESONU Before remake if that
has a good sale on it as well. Right, great
game for sure, and the DLC is great as well. Okay,
so last announcement of the show. I'm glad I have
you here for this, Kirkland, because of course it is
a shared level of Bar's Fire Emblem. Fortune's Weave is
the new subtitle here. It's games coming out next year.

(01:39:30):
I guess maybe off the top, it's like a kind
of Roman colisseum sort of setting and styling, and it
seems like you're gonna have battles in this coliseum and
then presumably you're kind of exploring out to areas around that.
So with Fire Emblem, I think there's two teams making
these games, and so there was a Three Houses team
and then there was a separate team that made Engage,
and this appears to be the Three Houses team again,

(01:39:52):
and it makes sense, and there's even one character that
kind of connects this in Three Houses shares more closely
with the art style and the gameplace. Presumably it looks
closer to this than it does Engage. So yeah, as
a as my fellow fire Emblem enjoyer here, what did
you think of this? Uh, this new news, new game.

Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
This got me pretty excited. I knew about.

Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
The announcement before I had actually seen it, so that
was that was pretty I was looking forward to it.
And then the trailer itself, I don't know there, like
there wasn't any like particular character or setting or like
like did it show a little bit of gameplaying here?
Like there wasn't like a unit type that really sold
me on it. It was just like a new era
of firearms. It gets me kind of excited and just

(01:40:34):
just intrigued at what they're gonna be adding and the
I can't remember her name, but the character at the
end that's show and that's yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
Yeah, sawfist.

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
Very interested on just what that entails, like like for
what the story wise is.

Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
I kind of forgot that.

Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
She was like a kid in three Houses. So it's
either this is her grown up even though she's like
Godden doesn't age, yeah, or it's like her mother. I
think I've seen people theorize, so I don't know what
it is, but it's yeah, some in some way shape
or form has some continuity with three Houses, which is
interesting to see more of that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Yeah, And I mean I absolutely love three Houses and
just just the setup of like a tournament. It just
fits so well with fire Out like they had it
in three Houses. I'm sure they had it well. I
think they even had it in a Weakening. Yeah, they did.
There was one specific mission that you do that's kind
of like a tournament. It just, yeah, seems to fit
in well there. And of course, like every Fireland game,

(01:41:35):
there's gonna be some like crazy story like big scale
wars that are going on in tandem with this. I
feel like they kind of they kind of mentioned that
a little bit in the trailer, and it just it
just it looked intriguing. I'm always I'm always intrigued when
it comes to a fire in the game, even though
I might not get all of them. I'm just enticed
on what the possibilities might be here. They're just really

(01:41:55):
cool games. I love the combination of tactics with my
good old anime stuff in there and just ridiculous characters.

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
And yeah, yeah, I like what you mentioned there of
like the theming of like, yeah, Arena's colseums there all
over this series. It's with the with the territory. But
even back to Sacred Stone, the first one that I've played.
In that game, there was like a two or three
different colosseums kind of arena battles in the game, which
is like a gamble thing. You go in, you fight
against someone, it's like do you want to risk fight

(01:42:25):
another one? You don't know who it's gonna be. You
don't get a chance to heal, see what happens, and
it's like, you know, you just kind of attack back
and forth so you survives the longest, but it's a
great way to grind and if you got super lucky.
So obviously, yeah, like that being a central theme I
think makes a lot of sense. And obviously, like in
the last few FIREMLM games, they've had this where there's
like a a home base where you in like a

(01:42:46):
you know, third person You're running around explore it. You
can talk to characters, buy items, laud of all sorts
of other random things. And so I really like the
setting of this of like it seems like you're gonna
be going around this city. I'm sure there'll be different areas,
Like obviously it's kind of primarily surrounding this big colosseum
but then spreading out to the different streets and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (01:43:06):
So I like that.

Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
I think that's a fun setting. It's funny when I
was watching the trailer, and you can see this on
the live strim if you want. First they showed the
Colosseum stuff, and then we saw two characters sitting in
like a booth and I was like, Oh, it's fire emblem.
And then we saw a third character and I was like, Oh,
I don't think this is a fire emloum because it
did not look like a fire emblem. Design of a
character looked kind of different. I was like, Oh, is
this Zeno plate or something. And then obviously pretty soon

(01:43:27):
after that, I was like, Okay, this is fire emblem.
But it threw me off a bit. So the art
style here obviously, as we've mentioned, like the theming fits,
but it is kind of different in terms of like
just the more strictly Roman esthetic here. Obviously we've seen
a kind of similarities to that before. But I think
it's cool that they're going in on that. I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:43:45):
Some of the new things that I caught in here,
some new classes. One of them that we see from.

Speaker 1 (01:43:50):
I think the protagonist or one of who knows, this
might be a multi rode game. We'll talk about that
in a second. Is the class is called a flying
or theist rider, which essentially is like the ostridge looking thing, yeah,
that he was on, And so at first I wondered if, like, oh,
is this is like a rider like a type of class,
and you're just like you can choose a horse, you
can choose this ortheus, you can choose other things. But

(01:44:11):
it's like, no, this seems like it is a distinctly
different class. I don't know if we saw like strictly
someone on a horseback. I'm sure we did, but that
seems interesting. That's something a bit different. And they called
it flying too, so I don't know if that's like
kind of like a pegasus. Maybe this is in place
of a pegasus, because I don't think three houses had
pegasus had to have it, right, had pegasus and and dragons. Yeah,

(01:44:33):
so this is something kind of different. But I don't
know if they actually fly or if they just are
called that because it's like a bird like Ostrich type thing.
So yeah, curious to see what that is. There's also
the chariot tears obviously very Roman as well, but I
really like that because that's kind of something fresh and different,
And we also saw kind of more in the cuttinge
but not necessarily in the gameplay of like other siege weapons,
which are always a big part of these series. But

(01:44:54):
I just think that idea of like large scale battles
maybe setting up the arena with like you know, thinking
back to Glass. We did that retrospective and then saw
the new one of like, oh, what kind of crazy
big set pieces narratives are they going to try and
set up for like this battle, that battle. So excited
to see what that stuff looks like. And then the
other new class that I caught here was a class

(01:45:15):
called the Hunter, which apparently has been in a couple
of Firearm Them games before and another the ones that
I've played, so like definitely way back to the OG
kind of Japan only games. And it appears to be
like an archer maybe hybrid with like archer who can
do like close range melee attacks and like the higher strength.
So that's kind of different, right, Like obviously you could
have like Bo's that had like one range, but normally

(01:45:37):
that's like the limitation of them as a character. So
I'm curious to see what the Hunter class is all about.
So yeah, three new classes. It was cool, and I'm
sure there might be a couple more than that in there,
and obviously what these evolve into or evolve from to
get to that point, So count me intrigued by that.
I like that idea.

Speaker 2 (01:45:54):
Yeah, I'm really excited about what that possibility could be because
with the Hunter, like the famous uh downside of the
Archers if their mainly range, like.

Speaker 3 (01:46:04):
They're just completely useless. Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:46:08):
I I dabbled a little bit with the Archers like
in Three Houses, just because like the limited roster kind
of gives you at the start of the game, but
like to have like kind of a hybrid potential, like
with with someone that can do melee, that that's pretty cool.
But for the Chariots, man, I'm I'm so excited to
see what that could be because chariots are arguably one

(01:46:30):
of the strongest and yet hardest like unit to control
in Total World Warhammer because they like they're all involved
in like flanking and like they got to be moving
all the time because if they're just standing still, like
they're just so useless and they die like instantly. But
like man a chariot coming into like flank someone like
that is so crushing. Uh, And like in a tactics game,
I don't really know how that would play because like,

(01:46:52):
like for my chariots, I want to run them through
a unit, but like can you do that now in attack?

Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
Like maybe I guess that that would be how are
they going through tree or water or whatever?

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Yeah, yeah, exactly all that stuff. So it's just cool
to see new unit types and the new rider fly
or whatever it is look cool. But because it just
reminded me of something I'd seen before, it didn't didn't
get me as excited as these other new ones.

Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
Yeah, yeah, the uh yeah, it's funny how that reminds
you of Warhammer? Is it? To me? It just made
me think of Sieve and like thinking with the limitations
of their movement as well over like certain terrain things.
So yeah, I'm curious to see how they relate that
kind of gameplay to attactics thing, because we've seen that before,
like different units are you know, better in certain terrain

(01:47:36):
or worse than certain terrain, So curiously what that looks like.
As for the other combat stuff, like we have attacks,
combat arts, gambits, those are off from three houses. The
new one that I caught here is one called blaze Arts,
which it seems like for all the blaze arts you
have to sacrifice HP to use this ability. So the
ones she showed in the trailer, or they showed her

(01:47:57):
using the trailer, was she summoned a beast by sacrificing
like I don't know, eight HP or something like that.
The other ones it said was the song and they
is contextualized as a song as the song to some
and beast. There's also the song of madness, song of passion,
song of ice water, song of abjuring. So some of
these are straightforward, but like madness passion, I'm not like,

(01:48:18):
is that charm? Is that making someone attack their teammates?
I'm not sure, But I like the idea that's like
a new interesting tactical thing of sacrificing HP in.

Speaker 3 (01:48:27):
Order to use a stronger ability. I think it is
really cool.

Speaker 1 (01:48:30):
And mixing that with gambits and common arts, like you're
gonna have a lot of options on a turn analysis
paralysis is probably sure to hear, but I think it's
a really cool idea. I think that's a fun new feature.
We talked about the older saw this thing, we'll see
how that connects to Three Houses. And then related to that,
I was gonna ask, like, do you think that this
game is gonna have a multi route format in the

(01:48:52):
way that Three Houses did, Like you could easily see
that being like, oh, the different houses, different kingdoms that
like go and fight in this colosseum. Uh so I
could see it be in the case, but yeah, what
do you what do you think they'll do here?

Speaker 2 (01:49:04):
Yeah, it seems like that's been I mean I can't
really speak for Engage because I didn't play that one.

Speaker 1 (01:49:09):
I think that was a one route situation.

Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
Yeah, which is very like different than it's been in
the last many games, right, Like I guess Awaking that
was you have like.

Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
Side quests, I guess, and like the what were they called,
like where you could get the children characters at pro.

Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
Ye like name right, it's like a yeah, I can't
remember what it was.

Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
But it was a one route situation.

Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
Right, Yeah, you're just falling.

Speaker 1 (01:49:34):
And then with Fates obviously they had like the three
games kind of like Pokemon style with the different routes,
and then before that Path of Radiance Radiant Down those
were single path Sacred Stones has like you split for
like four four mission paths and then it kind of
comes back in the end. So they always kind of dabble,
and I think that's what's interesting about fire Emblam is
like they have a big toolbox and they kind of

(01:49:56):
for each game, they kind of bring certain tools out
and put some back in the box. And so I
just for the sake of like time, I like a
one route situation, but with three houses, I definitely I
did two play throughs at least, and I think there's
four overall, right, three houses, plus like one of the
houses has like two variations, right.

Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
M M, yeah, I would be interested.

Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
I think what's shown in the trailer, it seems like
there's what appears to be not necessarily like main characters,
but like main players in the story, and they're talking
and they seem to be clashing. So that's just like
a classic setup of like here's your two heads of
whatever factions like going going against each other. So that's
just the vibe I got from that. I'm I am curious.

(01:50:37):
I think I like the idea of multiple route games
for the fire Emblems, but because I'm always like, oh yeah,
I'll do this, and then I'll eventually get through, but
it's like, man, these games are so long, Like I
can't even get through one play through, let alone multiple
different ones. But it's there, you know, if I eventually
want to go through. So I'm kind of indifferent. I

(01:50:58):
guess on it for me personally, but I do like
the idea of just having multiple roots. But I mean
it's also just a lot harder, I guess of a
game to make that way some movie you just focus
on a more linear story.

Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
Yeah, I'm curious to see what they do based on
the format and that it's the Three Houses team and
people love Three Houses. I assume they're gonna do the
multi route thing again, and I think it just fits
with the theming of this, so we will keep an
eye on that. Any other thoughts on Fortune's Weave, I'm
so much more info to be gained for this one,
but yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
I like it's tricky because Three Houses.

Speaker 1 (01:51:38):
I love the story and the characters, but I think
the gameplay isn't that interesting. Engage maybe had some more
interesting gameplay, but also had a ton of balance issues
and the story kind of sucks, so you never really
know what you're gonna get with Fire emblem, and I
like focusing on the story, but I also want the
tactics to be good, especially in today's age where like
there's so many good tactics games come out every year.
I just find myself getting a little bored with fire

(01:52:00):
gameplay these days.

Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
So hopefully this game can be.

Speaker 1 (01:52:03):
A nice amalgam of the two and isn't isn't faltering
in either way?

Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
Absolutely, Yeah, So that's everything for the direct, just I
guess quickly laying out the runway a little bit, so
you know, later this month Hades two. I think that's
a big get, as I mentioned, because it's a console exclusive.
But then in October they have Pokemon Za, November Highroad
Warriors in Kirby, and December Metroids, Like pretty solid second
half of the year or not second half, but you know,
closing out the fall winter season.

Speaker 3 (01:52:30):
Here.

Speaker 1 (01:52:31):
Of course, there's other little things in odds and Ensbet's
kind of the big Nintendo ones and the next year
Mario Fever or Mario Tennis Fever, the Mario movie, Fire
earmblun Fortunes, we Fatal Frame two remake, the New Yoshi game,
the new Pokemon Pacopia, Like, that's a pretty good twenty
twenty six already that we're set up for there. I'm
sure we'll obviously have a bunch of other things that
fill in the gaps. Tom Daughcy Life in There, Rhythm Heaven, right,

(01:52:53):
So there's pretty solid roster of things. I think they're
set up for a pretty good a couple of years here.
The only thing is that I thought were kind of
missing Splatoon Raiders as I talked about that game that
was announced on Nintendo today. I'm kind of surprised we
didn't actually get like a big trailer for it here.
So curious to see what that game is because obviously
it's like appears to be a spinoff of some sort.

(01:53:16):
It's not a name Splatoon title, So we'll see what
happens there. And then the big omission for me that
I was bummed about is Mario Kart World I was
really hoping for. I've been kind of pitching this idea
of like, ooh, Donkey Kong Bonanza, do a nice pairing there.
Do a little Bonanza DLC where you get like three
or four characters from Bonanza, maybe one or two new
courses or I don't know how they fit them into
the open world, right, but like maybe a little Donkey

(01:53:36):
Kong Island, you know, as they announced in this showcase today,
But we got nothing here. And it makes me curious
if they are gonna do DLC for that game at
all or now, right because obviously we talk about all
the DLC they came from Ori Credit eight, but technically
that DLC came like six or seven years after that
game came out, right, It was almost like a boon

(01:53:57):
in the end of it, and then that game ended
up selling crazy and they went ham on it. But
like they might not do anything for a world. I
guess I was just surprised to not see anything for
it here. But maybe, as I mentioned with dot Com Bananza,
it seems like that game like it's kind of fake DLC,
like that game has done a long time ago. Maybe
Mario Kart World, that's not the case. Maybe that did
kind of come in more closer to the buzzer here

(01:54:18):
on the Switch too, So maybe they just need more time.

Speaker 3 (01:54:20):
I really do want to get some PLC, I'd lie.

Speaker 1 (01:54:21):
I don't want them to be able to I don't
want it to be a live service game, but I
definitely think that we need a little bit more going
on there, some more features, some new maps, some new characters.
I think there's a lot of potential there, and so
I hope we get that. But obviously you're not a
switch to owner right now. But anything that was missing
to you or any final thoughts on this direct overall.

Speaker 2 (01:54:42):
I think the only thing that was missing is like
one title that like, okay, I have to get a
switch to now, which like man, like, maybe maybe more
info on fire Loom could have got me there. This
is like the first kind of appearance there. But yeah,
it doesn't seem like the uh the birds baked yet
for me on the on the switch to Plunge. But

(01:55:04):
I'm excited to eventually get that console, Shane. I will
be eventually getting that console. But it's also maybe a
good idea that hasn't happened right now because I got
a lot of expensive stuff coming up, so I could
use the little delay there.

Speaker 3 (01:55:14):
But yeah, I don't know. Overall, I think it was okay.
I think the more we.

Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
Broke down the direct, it definitely seemed better in hindsight. Now,
just some of the titles that we're a little bit
more intriguing in there.

Speaker 1 (01:55:25):
But yeah, I think if there's any like actual point
of disappoint for me, it is the Mario fortieth stuff
where it's like, okay, the Mario movie is the biggest
thing we're getting for Mario Forty's a bit disappointing. Galaxy
went to that, that's fine, but I already owned those games.
Yoshi doesn't look like it's my cup of tea. Mario
fevers like you know, Mario turnas Fever's okay, But like,

(01:55:46):
I think that was the point of this point for me,
is like Mario fortieth was a bit of the bummer,
and then the other stuff. I actually brought some spice
and some tea, so that was overall totally solid in
the end. Yeah, that's gonna be it for this episode.
Thank you everyone for listening. Of course, we will be
back next week for more video game goodness. Kirkland, thank
you for joining me, and we will see you all

(01:56:06):
next time.

Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
Bye bye bye,
