Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hello, and welcome to side Quest. This is our weekly
video game show here at gig Versus. I'm your host
till must night with the Dive into Hell, which could
be referring to many topics we have on the dock vernay.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
But Taylor, how are you doing tonight?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Everriend? Doing pretty good, doing pretty good. Excited to be
here and to speak to my name later on.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Mm hmmm yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Today's episode a little bit of mixed matter. We got
some we've got some news, we've got some games we've
been playing a little bit of this little bit of
that should be a good one, So let's just get
right into it.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
I want to talk about first some.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Of the games we've been playing, and I'm gonna throw
it right to you because i want to know if
you've played any more Sacred Stones, and if so.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
It's coming and that Oh man, yes, I have played more.
I've taken a brief pause just because busy, busyness. But
what what mission did I get to? You're very familiar
with this game?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yes, very I This would be a good quiz opportunity
if you know a character you just got, or a
level even you could loosely describe. Maybe I can like
pinpoint exactly where.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I've I've surpassed the part where the father and son
join in and you have to like pick them up
and fly them over the mountains so like and heal
the sun right axe boys, Yeah, I passed that, and
I'm a few missions ahead now and I think I
have like I had to pick only a couple members
of my team of all the characters I've gotten, And
right now I'm trying to clear clear out an area
(01:47):
where there's a bunch of bad guys. They were like
moving from village to village and like destroying them, and
I was trying to trying to get to them and
stop them from destroying them.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
That's kind of where I'm a gotcha.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Okay, So do you have like, are you around like
ten to twelve people and your like crew now.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
At this point, i'd say totally, Yeah, I've got quite
a few.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
You're at the point now where you can't bring everyone
into a mission. You kind of have to pick and choose.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I have to pick and choose, and I will say
that there's some characters. It's so nice having the rewind
feature because I just go back and like trying to
recruit someone back into my team that I missed the
chance too because he was on the enemy side. Like, oh,
it's such a game changer.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, that's great. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Are there any characters that you're like specifically avoiding or
people that like, are you know, crucial to your to
your strategy there, Like do you have any favorite archetypes
or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I really like people on horseback, and so I've got
the two of them so far, and I mean you
get them from the very start. I think Seth and
I can't remember the name of brand guy Frands. Yeah, yeah,
but I usually like people that can dish out like
one square like distance where the enemy can't hit you necessarily.
And of course I like my my tanks too. I
(02:58):
have the one guy that you start off at the
beginning with, but I was I thought you could recruit
another one at some point, and I've been trying to
figure out what point that starts, Like a night you
mean like a big yeah, one of the big heavy
guys with the spear that they like.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Right, Yeah, you definitely you get. I think there's another
like late game one you can get, and then there's
definitely like one of the horse like cavalier upgrades goes
into like I can't remember the name exactly, but they're
kind of like an armored version, so like when you
upgrade Gilliam eventually like the night you can put them
on a horseback, So you get that version that obviously
(03:32):
make like friends into that or something. And then there's
a character that I don't think you've seen yet named Amilia,
who you pray yeah, I don't think you would have
seen her yet. She's maybe a few chapters down the road,
and she's kind of like a almost like a not
a jack of all trades, but she has a lot
more options in terms of the route you can go,
so you could make her a night eventually if you
(03:52):
wanted to. It's kind of like, you know, Ross is
like I forget what the term is for it, but
they're almost like recruit like amateur level, like they're they're
way worse than everyone else, but they have a lot
more growth potential because they like have that extra like
pre class before they get into like the standard classes.
So you get another yeah, a girl like that later
who can go into a night later on if you
(04:12):
wanted to. So gotcha's more potential for that, Yeah, gotcha.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
One of my hiccups so far was just the weapon
degrading factor, and I totally forgot that was a component
in this game. So Erica I was just popping off
because her chance of hitting criticals was through the roof,
and she kept one hitting, well two hitting because she's
just the one strike and then she winds up inos
a second strike and it's just we would kill in
one turn so many bad guys. So her her sword
(04:37):
is now kapiche and I gave her another one, so.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Right, yeah, I think she says, with the Rapierre right,
and Rapierre yeah, Trent, so there. Yeah, you'll definitely get
a bunch of other like crit heavy weapons, and then
I forget when but at some point you probably just
buy rap yeers if you want. But I mean it'll
kind of become a little outdated eventually in terms of
the damage of it. But yeah, that's great, And yeah
it sounds like the range characters definitely, like magic classes
(05:01):
are just great because they have one range and two range,
whereas you don't need like a javelin on like some characters,
which are not really a strong weapon. They just have
the ability to hit multiple ranges. But yeah, magees great
because they're just always going to counter attack, so they
can like have a higher chances to survive even if they're
super squishy. So yeah, hopefully you're using some of those
as well.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yes, yeah, I have two so far. And now can
I give healers like, uh, like, can they actually have
like combat spells combat of spells?
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Not? Yeah, not in their current form.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
But then when you when you upgrade that class that
monk you have Reese right right now, when you upgrade him,
no matter what you pick, you'll get one that can
use different types of tomes, so he will be able
to attack eventually, but right now he's uh just stands
there and gets hit. But yeah, it's funny they give it.
They eventually added that in later fire emblems, like even
(05:53):
like with a staff where you can just like punch
or something like you can get a little counter attack off.
It's pretty weak, but yeah, back in those days, you're
pretty much only a healer.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Until you have you upgraded anyone.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, have you got to that point where you've like
promoted anyone's to a new class like the.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Ces or anything.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
I haven't promoted anyone to a new class, but I've
just been leveling up everyone out the waz Zoo does
that automatically trigger the promotion once.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
So yeah, the max level is twenty, like per class,
and then once you at any point after ten, you
can use like Elasian Whip is what it's called, like
flyer units or like a night crest it was one
you might have, or like a thief crest something like that,
which are like designated for certain classes, so like a
night class for example, would be like for a cavalier
for like the night and then you can Yeah, so
(06:38):
once they reach level of ten, then you can use
it on them, and then they'll promote into that next
like rank, which get like more weapon types, more specializations
and whatnot. You generally do want to still level them
to twenty before using it, because then you'll just get
more ability or more chances to level up, and then
you can get like more stats overall. So it's usually
best to save it for the characters once they hit
level twenty, but yeah, you will. It doesn't ever happen
(07:02):
automatically except for like a couple points in the story
where a certain character will get a free upgrade, but
that's pretty rare and reserved for like spoilers like Erica.
You know, being like the lowered character, like kind of
that just happens at some point in the story rather
than you using it.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
You don't, I believe now A long long.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Time ago I beat Shadowed Dragon. But uh, there's there's
a character I got in that game. Because you're talking
about like the items and and well what not with
these characters, There's a character I got in there and
he was just like like a wizard kind of person,
and I found an ORB on one of the other levels,
and I put that ORB on that character and then
allows him to actually turn into a dragon and deal
(07:38):
like crazy damage. Is that a feature in this like
in the in Sicred Stones?
Speaker 2 (07:46):
It seems it's a little bit different.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
And I don't remember Shadow Dragon enough to comment on
exactly how that mechanic worked. But in this game, there
is a character who transforms into a dragon, but they
essentially just like have a resource that they'd use as
an attack, which actually might be the same. It might
be the same as Shadow Dragon. It's just I don't
remember how that worked in that game. But you do
get a character that does that, but I think it's
just the one character.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I think it is.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It's like a secret character you get quite a bit
later on, and then that's definitely more of a feature
in a path of ratings the GameCube once. So when that,
remember that hits nso you'll be able to check that
one out. That one has a ton of transformations. There's
like nice ten or fifteen characters in that game that
have that, and like some of them are bird people,
some of them are like cats, some of them are
like lion types, and then like little variations in there.
(08:31):
And yeah, that's like a huge mechanic in that game.
It's a it's it's a much more involved mechanic, whereas
this is just like a couple kind of special classes
in the mix, and these other games usually nice.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Mm hmm. Yeah, I'm excited to hear.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
When you get a few more missions in there's like
some bigger choices and things like that that will occur.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
So I'll just say, Taylor, be prepared.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Every time you're on side Quest for the next few months,
I'm gonna ask you about it. The guy who's like, oh,
I haven't played you don't want to be a Kirkland patzer,
I don't like, Oh yeah, I played it, then I
forgot about you don't want to be that guy.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Okay, you want to.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
You wanna like if I'm the teacher here, you want to,
you know, want you want to you know, make sure
you finish your homework and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
So no, I'm very glad you're playing. Like anything else
that you've been playing recently?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Oh man, Uh, you know, it's been a long time
since the cod has been booted up. I haven't touched that. Really,
what else has there been? I did get an urge
for Rocket League, so I was playing that a little
bit the other day. Other than that, I've just been
it's just been a lot of Mario Kart. I've had
one of our friends came over and we did like
a whole Mario Kart session. We played every Trap or
(09:37):
every Grand Prix, and then a little bit of free
roams so got some more skins which was nice. And
uh yeah, just really buckled down and did a bunch
of races, which is a lot of fun. Uh. But
what else is there that I was playing?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (09:52):
I thought there was something I can't recall. I can't recall.
My my friend at work, he's been reckoned mending a
few a few titles for me to try out.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Did you see on game Pass game that just came
out on there called Rematch. I don't know if you
remember the trailers for that one, but it's a soccer
game from like the team that made Seafu. So if
you're getting that Rocker League stitch and you want to try.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Something new, you should. You should give that a go.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Play a couble matches on on game Pass there, and yeah,
if you do, let me know we could play some online.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
With it as well.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
But it's because it was one that I tried a
little bit and I was like, not playing this without
friends just kind of sucks, Like the same with Rocket League.
I never really want to play that alone. So yeah,
you should give that one to go. It's a cool game,
has some nice mechanics. Obviously a big striker's guy too,
so I think you'll like the kind of it feels
very Rocket League to compare it to any of the
soccer games, but it has its own kind of special
(10:45):
quirks and a little higher skill because you have to like
aim your passes and stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
So it's it's a cool game.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Mm hmm. Okay, yeah, I think that's one of the ones.
My cork Or was actually mentioning to me was that
and there's another one, another shooter, but the rematch sounds interesting.
Then with the news too of Strikers coming to you
switch one think the right that drop now, Oh, if
it's on there, it's it was supposed to because they
released a trailer for it, which usually they do that
(11:10):
like when they drop it. No, the trailer dropped with
a release state. Okay.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
There was also some some rumors or like a leak
or something like that it looks like they might be
finally adding don Yong sixty four and Smashed sixty four
to the n sixty four one, which I'm so happy
about because those are two games that I have been like,
where the heck are they don Kyong? I didn't know
if it was like some weird rights thing with rare
like making that game, but obviously it's owned by Nintendo.
So if that does happen, that's cool, especially in time
for Bonanza and then Smash sixty four like that game
(11:40):
I feel like for so many people is just kind
of forgotten because it's so old and isn't hasn't been
playable on like anything modern in a long time. The
last thing was like on the wea virtual console. If
you bought it, you know, so I'm excited to go
back to that or like whenever we're on a stream
or we're doing the fighting game tournaments, like, I think
that will be a fun one to bring out and
you know, blow the dust off that cartridge of Smash
sixty four or and play that O G One because
(12:01):
it's it's still a great game. I you know, it's
hard to play these days just because it is not
on that modern harbor.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
But I'm excited for that if that does actually happen.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
You're right. Strakers dropped four days ago onto a switch online,
which I just totally lost track of time. My god,
that's so night.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Now we have battle League and that one for we're
doing streams and stuff. It just becomes easier and easier.
We don't need to change things around. We just plug
in the switch now, so and just you know, have
access to a bunch of things.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
That's that's right.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
I just a quick note on the Mario card side
of things. I picked up finally a pro controller because
I wanted to get you know, obviously, I've been climping
by these joy cons a lot, and so I wanted
to get a nicer controller in time for Donkey Kong,
so ordered that nice and early, and yeah it is
buttery smooth. Did you you got a pro controller right
or did you just get the GameCube one?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I have neither. Actually I'm still just using my joy cons, right.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, you don't have as many issues with the joy
cons as I do. But yeah, the pro controller, I
mean it's not cheap. It was like one hundred and
twenty dollars or something Canadian, which is cracked, but it
is really nice. The buttons are the face buttons are huge.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
They're almost like the size of like the a button
on a GameCube controller.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Like they're big and all, like all four of them,
the AB, y and X, but everything feels really good.
Has the back paddle things too, so they get like
two extra buttons that you can map to anything.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Which is this like an actual like Nintendo official switch
to pro controller?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah? And is the switch to be cause on the
switch one.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
I got the like a knockoff pro controller and it
was good enough, but it did break eventually, and I
don't even know if there was a good third party
one out there yet, and so I just kind of
went for the went for the main one, and I'm
sure it'll treat me well for the whole life span
of of the console. Yeah, I definitely needed something for
Donkey Kong. And yeah, I'm excited to try out those
back paddle buttons. I don't think I've ever had a
controller that has those, So I don't know what I'll
(13:48):
map that too for Donkey Kong. But I can maybe
put some weird, some weird button on there and get
some crazy crazy tech going, some speed run tech or
something like that.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
I want to see someone get the conga drums from
GameCube and played New Donkey Kong with those those bad boys.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, that does plug in through a GameCube thing which
you put into the game controller adaptors. I guarantee within
like a month of that game being someone will make
that YouTube video.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You don't that be a thing? Yeah? I always forget.
It's like, you can you get like the elean R
buttons you have like a m B.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
I think the issue is moving so people beat that game,
but maybe you can beat a couple levels or collect
some specific bananas. But who knows, maybe with like the sliding,
like the uh the freaking like surfboard thing you can
do in that game, maybe we'll just slide around that way,
even if you're not holding a direction. So that'll be
fun to see. I always love like seeing weird speeder
and just just wrote these strange runs in the games.
(14:38):
That's always always a good time. Uh yeah, I think
for me, you know, I beat us training too, just
last night. So me and Travis are gonna do a
spoiler episode for that, which we might record this week,
so it might be out sooner, like very very soon.
I still haven't playing a little bit more after that,
just knocking out more deliveries, getting that collection level up.
We were actually we were talking last me and Travis
(15:01):
were theorizing about you because that comes on Xbox now.
The first one like do you have any interest in
Death Stranding?
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Have you seen? Like?
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Because I know one of the weird things with those
trailers of the first game was like, what does the
game even look like?
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Gameplay wise?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I'm sure you've seen some footage nowadays, but yeah, do
you have any interest in, you know, picking up a
backpack and delivering packages across America?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Well? Two things? When the heck did this come out
on Xbox?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
I don't know, but it is out there now.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Let me see if I'm interesting, Okay, uh. And secondly,
I'd be inclined to try it, but from what I've
heard from you guys, I don't think I got the
patience to commit to it, just like carrying a big
load and then just tripping or falling and going down
the hill and like, ye, man, I get I have
already getten frustrated enough in life. This doesn't sound like
(15:52):
it's fun.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Okay, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
It came out in November, by the way, last year,
so oh, that's right, which is maybe when the director's
cut first came out. I think you know, that's when
they had some new content in there, put it out
on Xbox, and then it came on PC.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Way earlier than that.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
But it right now everywhere, Yeah, not like funded somewhat
by Sony, but is not a Sony studio obviously Codream production,
so this one as well. Eventually we would assume it's
gonna go everywhere. And same with like OD which is
like the Xbox Kuajima game. I'm sure eventually or if
not at watch, that'll be in other places.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
There might be a stream.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
I don't even know it's gonna be on Xbox or
it was just like streaming on your phone or some
weird thing.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
So that was November last year that it came out. Okay,
so what is that for? Four years from console to console?
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Then twenty nineteen was when that came out, so I guess, yeah,
five years because five years November of twenty nineteen, so interesting,
five years. You can play DS two on the beach
Box perfect.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I'll be waiting.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I mean, it's a long game, so if you do
eventually pick it up, you know, I I don't know
what Kujima is working with Xbox on this OD thing,
so maybe it will be a game pas thing eventually,
but it's definitely not at the moment.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
But yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
It's it's a polarizing game for sure, And I don't know,
it's hard for me to say for any individual person
what they would think of the game, just because it
doesn't really have a direct comparison to anything else. But
in terms of weirdness of the story in the world,
I think you'd like that stuff and the performances. But
obviously there's a lot of you know, trudging through rivers
and falling over on mountain sides in order to get
to that point, So it could be not for.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Everything the second one, is it kind of like that too,
same thing.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Yes, it's it's a lot easier, and it's a big
thing we talked about last week. And maybe part of
that is because I played sixty hours of the first one,
and I know the mechanics and stuff, but I think
I've fallen over twice maybe in like, okay, sixty hours
of this game.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Like, it's a lot easier.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
The vehicles are a lot better, so you can just
drive like I'm driving ninety percent of the time, whereas
in the first game you're obviously trekking on foot.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Most of the time.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
So it's a different vibe, I would say, and definitely
not as difficult. And even the combat's a lot easier,
just a lot more tools and stuff, so it's a
much easier game. But I think for story purposes, you
got to play the first one. You get a lot
of people stick into the second one. But these people
are crazy, like you need to play the first game
like it, or at least watch like some thorough recaps
of the story I suppose before you jump in, because
(18:14):
I feel like you really need that context for this
for the sequel to make sense. And even then it
doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
So it just goes to show how wacky the story
is cool.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
And then the other what else I want to mention?
I wanted to showed out my UFO fifty Game of
the Week. I've been bringing this back again recently. It's
a game called Grimstone. This is one of the later
games in the collection, and this is just a full
on RPG. It's it's a Western theme, so you're like
cowboy themed thing where you're cruising around like the state
of Texas, fighting bandits and you know, kyoes and weird
(18:49):
creatures like this and the classic turn based RPG.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
The combat is interesting. It's the classic like you're you know,
choosing to attack or maybe choosing to defend. But then
it has like an act time battle thing where you
kind of nail it timing down, almost like in that
golf way where you gotta get that timing. So that's
like kind of an interesting evolution there. The game starts
out in an absolutely crazy way where there is just
a fire at like a tavern and eight people have died,
(19:15):
and then there's like an angel that walks into the
tavern and it's like, okay for these people, I can
save and that'll become your party for the game. The
rest of these people stay dead, which is like such
a crazy intro, and so you you just pick which
four party members you want. But then obviously, because other
ones are dead, it's not like they join your party later.
You just never get to experience those characters on this playthrough.
And as far as I know, you never swap people
(19:35):
into your party, like it's just you pick your four
and those are who you get. So the first time
I started to pick some people, one of which was
a dog, and the dog has like auto attacks, like
you don't actually choose what he does, and the stats suck.
And the first hour or two I was getting crushed
and this dog sucked and was dying constantly. So I'm like,
you know what, I'm sorry, dog. I started a new playthrough.
(19:56):
I'm rewriting the timeline you are dying the Stafford fire,
and I'm picking another character. I can select their actions,
and it's been going much better. And now I'm like
a bunch of hours deep. But this is by far
the longest game in UFO fifteen. I think it's like
fifteen to twenty hours to beat, which is crazy. That's
just one of fifty games in there, but yeah, I've
been making my way through it. It's also in the
same world as another game in the coquestion called Rail Heights,
(20:17):
which is another Cowboy themed one, and so I love
that because Raylhigs is my favorite game in there, so
to have that kind of connections nice and yeah, like
it's it's a weird balance, right, because you're picking four
classes at the start, you don't really know much about them.
You're getting like a broad stroke like this is a
tough guy, this is a bandit. It's like, well, I
don't what does that mean for a class. I don't
know what that means in terms of combat, and one
(20:37):
that is like this must be a healer.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
I guess I should pick that one.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
But yeah, you're not getting a whole lot of guidance,
and then obviously you can't like reroll that unless you
just start the game from scratch. So really weird, really
cool game, really great aesthetic, great music of course, as
everything does in UFO fifty, So I don't know just
the gift that keeps on giving. I cannot wait for
that game to eventually come to switch switch to whatever
it is, hopefully switch one as well. And yeah, I'm
just gonna play a shit ton more of that game.
(21:01):
Easily pick it up again, just like I've bought Splunky
on every platform maageable. I'll definitely do that for UFO
fifty and just this would be a perfect game to
have on the go, just with the mobility of it,
how long it is, do some grinding that kind of thing.
So yeah, show us the UFO fifty yet just deep
into twenty twenty five here, and it still is like
one of my most played.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Games in you know, recent times. So games just amazing.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Yeah, Okay, I think that's pretty much it for the
games we have been playing.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
So how about we jump.

thing that you didn't, notice like a jump and audio.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Quality hopefully you just sound it so. Good it's JUST
i didn't even catch.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
On it was an immersive experience that you were in
the room with. Me is that that's?
Speaker 1 (22:36):

First so, yeah me And rubin get back into the
the saddle with that and we talk, about, yeah like the,
GAMES tv show, books saw All Assassin street, stuff will
we cover. It so it was a good little recap
and re immersion back into that that. Franchise so check that.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Out that's.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Great, Yeah i'll have to give that download and listen
on my commute, tomorrow because, yeah like how many episodes
of original kind of?
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Run OH I.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I i light that actually in that in The Geeks freed,
EPISODE i want to say it was like fifteen or
sixteen is a very short exclusive run limited.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Series yeah, no but really fun to have that back
as well as you, know bringing back all sorts of
other Shows netflix and. Fail hunk is coming back, unfortunately
so there's one. That sorry but you'll see that in
your feet at some. Point but, yeah bring it back
all that og. Stuff because so ten year Anniversary geeker
is coming up pretty soon here In august.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Ninth we are celebrating with a. Stream couldn't do some
fun trivia, there all sorts of things here and their,
activities play some.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Games it'll be a great. Time so mark that on your.
Calendar be there or be. SQUARE i don't, know do
people still say.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
THAT i feel LIKE i haven't heard that in a.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
While they're saying it. Now so there you.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Go ANYTHING i did not, plug anything that is worthy
of a shout.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Out, TAYLOR i think you got. EVERYTHING i. CAN'T i
can't think of any of the reviews or. WHATNOT i
mean we got. Used did you Say fantastic four at
the end of the. Month that's how the things to
look forward.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
To, yeah SO i guess prediction will be in a
week or. Two and, yeah, yeah that movie dropping in
a few. Weeks that's that's, exciting big Big marvel, movie
BIG Dc marvel. Months that's gonna be a good time
for Even, ALSO i guess quick shout out. Here june
was a huge month for, us big, month one of
the biggest months in a long. Time and so thank
you everyone for, listening because, yeah that's that's great to.
(25:21):
See you, know there's always there's ups and downs in this,
business but that was definitely up a month and that
feels very.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Good so thank you for doing.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
That you did a Weekly geek With kirkland, yesterday, RIGHT i,
Did that's?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
True he?
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Did? Yeah was it? Was it a? Good good?
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Episode it sucked you don't listen to it was? Good,
yeah it.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Was it was one of those ones that didn't have
tons of like pipe and hot topics on, paper BUT
i think we like had some fun discussions around the stuff,
anyway and actually a big part of, That i'm glad
you shouted. Out it was a Big nintendo discussion because
obviously Recently nintendo Confirmed, slash LIKE i guess just hinted
at there are making more movies past Like mario and
(26:02):
The elda stuff that we already knew, about and so
we kind of had like a longer discussion just theorizing
what that could. Mean so, YEAH i think for anyone
listening to, this definitely worthy of checking that out because
some good video game conversations happening happening in.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
There.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Cool, Yeah so let's throw to AN ad break here
that you could skip if you're on patrens that of
course you get episodes early and ad free, there but if,
not you can feel the pain of. THIS ad will
be right. Back, okay we are. Back So, taylor your
name dive into. HELL i THINK i know what that
(26:38):
is referring. To but if you are a developer that
works For xbox and Or, microsoft it's been very hellish
lately because you never know what your job security is
gonna look. Like so obviously they announced just a few
days ago That Xbox microsoft is closing fired thousands more,
People and of course they did this last, year AND
(26:59):
i think last like every year they're pretty much doing.
This they fired a bunch of. People they canceled several.
Projects the ones that we know are canceled are Ever,
wild the game From Rare so the cee If Thieve Thieves,
team which you know that game was announced like a
million years, ago and so that's. Canceled Now Perfect, dark
the reboot of that is canceled as well as that
(27:21):
whole studio of the initiative is just closed down. Now
so that, was you, know announced years. Ago we finally
got that trailer last year which had gameplay in, it
and now that game has just. Gone other ones that
are kind of maybe they didn't really announce these, necessarily
but Other Scrolls online team was working on a NEW
mmo for years and years that apparently is. Canned John,
(27:44):
rimiro who is the creator Of, doom was working on
a game that was funded By. Xbox xbox pulled the
funding on, that so that studio is now. Closed it's
looking Like contraband is a game that From, avalanche not
The avalanche that Makes Howgward like, see but the ones
that make The Just cause, games And contraband this one's not.
Gone but all this is just like scuttle, butt but
that they pulled the tragiler from that from YouTube like
(28:05):
right after this, happened so hinting at maybe that game getting.
Canceled we haven't heard from that one in a long,
time so there is probably. More and obviously a bunch
of studios had a bunch of layoffs and stuff like The,
turnten the studo that makes for The, Motorsport like half
the team got, Cut SO i don't know if that
means a game is canceled or if it's just going
to take a lot longer for that game to come.
Out so obviously super, shitty and this is, like you,
(28:28):
know we don't talk about layoffs and all that a
ton on Side quest just because LIKE i feel like
it's not it's not it's hard to have like a
nuanced take on, It like it's super, shitty but, like
what do you want me to say about? It in this,
case there is more like substantive stuff we can say
because there's all sorts of games canceled and studios closed,
down which is a. Bummer OBVIOUSLY i was super critical
(28:49):
of all this stuff last year too because it just.
Sucks and obviously a big part of this seems to
be that they're just like going more in THE ai,
realm putting funds IN, ai firing people and replacing them
with robots.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Who suck at this.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Job so it's just super, sad and it's, like, MAN
i REALLY i wish we could go back in time
to WHEN i don't know if this would have, helped but
When Microsoft Slash xbox Acquired Activision blizzard for seventy billion,
dollars you, know if they didn't do, that if they
didn't spend seventy billion, dollars maybe we wouldn't have had
to close all these students and fire all these. People
(29:21):
and they've done almost nothing with that acquisition since it's,
happened so other than like putting some quality games On Game.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Pass but, LIKE i don't, KNOW i don't think that's for.
ME i don't really care too much about.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
That so it's it's, LIKE i JUST i hope that
Anytime xbox wants to acquire anyone in the future that
just gets blocked by the whatever federal organizations whatever that
can because this is just so unethical that they can
just buy up all these, studios you, know buy all
these contracts out for, employees and they just can thousands
of them year after, year it's incredibly fucked, up and
(29:53):
Fuck xbox for doing.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
That it's it's terrible. Stuff SO i, Know i've.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Just thrown a lot at you and we'll you, know
pick apart different parts of. It BUT i don't know
what are your kind of thoughts on this from prop.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Level every time you see a presentation or a show
come out Of xbox And, microsoft you Got Phil spencer
just preaching the fact that, hey we're developing independent games
and our studios are working on all these different titles and,
whatnot and really it's, well they're definitely producing some interesting
things and there's definitely something for everyone at its. Core
(30:24):
it's it's not all peaches and, cream and you can't
hide the fact, that, yeah you're you're taking away thousands
of people's. Livelihoods it's pretty it's pretty. Damaging if IF
i was in their, shoes i'd be inclined to just
start my own, company you, know bring on board a
bunch of people that were also laid, off and just
(30:44):
kind of continue working on something that you were. Creating
that's you, know there these are passion projects and to
just pull the rug out from underneath these people that
that's that's pretty. Damaging that's pretty. Hurtful so IT'S i
don't know that that kind of, career that kind of
line of work is very differ from, WELL i shouldn't
say very. Different you, know hopefully if you get lucky
(31:05):
in life and you get to do what you love
and if you're one of those, people and that's. Great
AND i think people that work in the video game
industry they're not there just because they're trying to do a.
PAYCHECK i, mean the higher ups probably, are BUT i
think most, people if you're building a game and working
on a, game you're there because you like what you
do when you were passionate about this. Project so, yeah
For microsoft to just buy AND acqui acquire all of
(31:25):
these developers and then just ax them and act their,
projects it's really really. Unfortunate i'm still holding out hope
that stated TO k three is still in the. WORKS
i saw some people talking about. It how things seem
to be safe with that for. NOW i don't think
anyone is necessarily laid off from that team that they
were talking, about BUT i don't know how reliable that
(31:45):
source is of. Information but, uh, yeah JUST i wish
THAT i wish they were in a position where they
were actually putting out really great. Games and, yeah just
because they got Called video On games pass you know.
WHATEVER i was still buying those, Yearly so that's not
changing anything for. ME i still play. THEM i would
(32:05):
love it if they actually did something with all the
other games under that umbrella that they. ACQUIRED i remember
us having that conversation when that deal was still going, down, thinking,
man we could be getting a new Guitar hero or
something like. That that would be, Sick Like i'd be
all over. That so it's just it's it's a pretty
nasty uh kick to the gut from from What i've
(32:26):
seen so. Far and the ultimately the people that pay
the price are all these people that work on all
these passion.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Projects and, YEAH i mean to The call Of duty.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Point like one of the REPORTS i saw saying, that
like because there's, like you, know so many studios that
work On call Of duty games at this, point and
like multiple of those studios also suffered a bunch of.
Layoffs like so you could be now in this, realm
this hellish, world diving in hell that we live, in
you can be working On call Of, duty the best
selling game every year for the last like however many,
(32:55):
years you, know with the odd exception like All Hogwarts
legacy beat up this.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Year who, cares you, know little, details but like the
best selling.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Games of making a fuck ton of money and still
that doesn't make you safe from these, layoffs which is absolutely.
Insane it's, like, well what are you supposed to? Do
like what what realm could you? Take because, obviously you,
know people can look at Like expedition thirty three that came,
out it's, like, oh a smaller a smaller. Team you,
know obviously they have a bunch of like contractor, stuff
like smaller team that kind of you, know rough and,
(33:21):
tumble kind of build their own thing kind of what you're,
saying their passion project. Thing but it's, LIKE i don't,
know if that game just didn't take, off that studio
would have to just close down as. Well but in
the case of Like Xbox, microsoft it doesn't seem to
matter at all what the person, like whether your game
reviews well or does well, financially it doesn't seem to
matter at. All so it just but we're in a
case where not it's not Just Xbox microsoft line laying
(33:43):
off people say. Everyone so it's like if you work
in this, industry you just got to take a job
if you can get. One so you might just have
to take a job At, xbox which is like not
a place you want to go BECAUSE i feel like
every day you might be worried if you're gonna get
that next paycheck or if you're gonna have your.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Job by the end of the. Year so it's, LIKE
i don't know what you. Do it's really.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Terrified and obviously WITH, ai there was like one of
the execs At xbox was, like, oh, yeah you can
USE ai to like help comfort yourself or some some
absolutely asinine quote of like this guy is. RIDICULOUS i
pulled this particular part From Phil spencer's. STATEMENT i recognize
that these changes coming to time when we have some
when we have more players games and gaming hours than ever.
(34:21):
Before our platform hardware and game rode map have never looked.
Stronger so they're just they're in a great. Spot yet
it doesn't mean anything at. All and so obviously like
a bunch of a lot of those when you see those,
memos like we can read them as the public but
that's very much like for like the, investors the people
in like the boardrooms and stuff like, that so they
(34:42):
can look at this, like, oh we're doing.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Good, cool that's it's not a concern inside of lay
off all these.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
People and obviously those people in those boardrooms level when
people get laid off because they just can save some,
money and at least that's how they look at.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
It so, YEAH i don't.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
KNOW i just anything out Of Phil spencer's mouth is
just comple leat bullshit at this point because he just
lies all the, time and all these people do and
it's all. Bullshit And Sarah, bahn Mat booty fuck all these.
People they're all complete. Garbage so it's it's it's very very.
Sad and you, know some people have had some good
statements out, there Like raphaela Cole, antonio who you, know
(35:18):
worked On prey and then Did Weird west and is
now working on his next, game had like some good.
Tweets so they're bringing some conversation talking about how shitty
like Game pass has been for like the, industry AND
i kind of as like a direct criticism of what's
going on. Here but, yeah it's it's just it's it's
kind of, ridiculous and like specifically in the case of
the over Ever wild. Cancelation so obviously we didn't know
(35:40):
much about this. Game we got a, trailer it seemed, like,
okay this is a more fantasy, setting different kind of,
setting but similar vibes to see if there is probably
gonna be a game that's living, game you, know it's
gonna be alive for years to, come multiplayer kind of
thing that got, canceled which you, know maybe that game
was in, shambles not any good, place but to, me
that's shocking, because like See, if the incredibly successful game
(36:01):
one was one of the best selling games on PlayStation
when it when they finally poureded that. Over it's a
game that every single, conference every single, year they're showing
off this new content. Drop so it seems to be
like a consistent money. Maker it's a big marketing thing for.
Them same with the Older Scrolls online every. Year you,
know me and you And travis And, kirkham we're not
playing that, game but it obviously is making a ton
of money that they can still do expanses every year
(36:21):
and they put it in their.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Showcase it's a big. Deal and like those the next
game from those.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Two studios getting canceled is insane to me because those
seem like just, consistent constant, moneymakers big marketing beat and so,
LIKE i don't why would you not Want like if
they're if you're gonna float any project and get it
out the, DOOR i feel like those should be the.
Ones and SO i don't, know maybe everywhile there's just
been on ice for like years and they finally decided
to cancel, it and maybe they have just only been
(36:46):
Making See if these for all this. TIME i don't really,
know but Obviously rare is such a big footprint on this.
Industry they've made so many iconic games and, characters and it's,
LIKE i want something new From, rare like we got
when Did See If thieves come?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Out, tay do you remember what year it?
Speaker 3 (37:00):
WAS i remember we were in the. Basement you're your old.
Joint oh, gosh.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
Here first release in twenty. Eighteen, okay so we're looking
at where like twenty.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
EIGHTEEN i thought.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
It was earlier than, that to be, Honest but twenty. Eighteen,
uh that's the, One SO i.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Guess, okay so ever while just got, canceled maybe in
like another seven or eight years we see another game From,
rare but it's like that sucks That xbox went up
and Bought, rare one of the greatest developers, ever and
they're not really saying a game for like twenty years
or something insane other than like one see these, game
which you know it's a getting a lot of.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Updates, sure but that's. Ridiculous so they first.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
Announced it in twenty fifteen AT e. Three that's why
it feels like released before. ME i remember it kept
getting delayed and, whatnot and that we didn't think there
was much hype out that point.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Anymore, yeah so that's crazy to. Me and like the
same thing with that whatever THAT mmo was That Elder
Scrolls online team was working on like crazy crazy it
must not have been a big. Ip maybe it was
their own, ip because IF i feel like it was
like a fallout type, thing they probably would have kept that.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Going BUT.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
I just can't even understand in any realm where it
would make sense to cancel those, projects you, know The
Perfect dark, one like that game has been in development
since like twenty, SEVENTEEN i, believe so a long. Time
like that's already a shit ton of reasos to put into,
That and there's been some weird reports coming out of
like it sounds like we you, know we got the
gameplay trailer last, year but it sounds like maybe a
(38:34):
lot of that was fudged and not actually. Real you,
Know i've always, trailers of, course there's always sometimes a
pinch or sometimes a, grain sometimes a whole salt lampsworth of,
salt you, know in terms of how real this stuff
is and how much we can take it at phase.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Value in that, case.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
It sounded, Like, okay not a lot of it was,
real and so, okay maybe that game was still years
away AND i can understand a little bit more of,
THAT i, suppose but like that was one of my
most hype games from that.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
SHOWCASE i was one of the most Excited. Xbox so
that showcase looked.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Great AND i like perfect art back in the, day
and so you, KNOW i think all of us last,
year at least, ME i, think gave The Xbox showcase
like a perfect five. Score but it's, Like i'm gonna
knock some post whom you were, saying and to knock
some points off that because obviously one of the big
excitements for that is a game that now doesn't. Exist,
now it feels, like, man Every Xbox. SHOWCASE i feel
like there's gonna be now because now that it's been
(39:21):
multiple years of these cancelations and game studio closures and
things getting, Canceled LIKE i don't, KNOW i just like
every showcase now is gonna have a huge mark againstead of, like,
yeah but is any of this? REAL i don't, Know
and so therefore it's hard for me to really get
too hyped about, anything and that. Sucks and you, know
it's obviously already affected me a huge last year With
arkane BECAUSE i was like one that was really close
to my. Heart of, course this is a new, STUDIO
(39:41):
i don't have the same attachment to the, initiative BUT
i thought what they were cooking up there With Perfect
dark look really, cool and So i'm super bummed about
that game being, canceled you, know even though once, again,
yeah maybe that showcase last year was fake and not
really indicative of what the game actually looked, like BUT
i still wanted to see what the heck that game,
was and so that, one that one.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Really burns for me as. Well mm hmmm mm.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Yeah so, Yeah I'm i'm Hopefully state OF k, happens
hopefully a lot of these games that we just saw
in these showcases do. Happen but, yeah it's just Crazy.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Turmo and it's, LIKE i don't, KNOW i don't know
what any developer can do to make sure their game
stays to float in The Xbox realm right. Now so
Now i'm just hoping we do Get Eler scroll six
and they don't just cancel that for some insane. REASON i,
mean who, knows, dude they might do it because maybe
they look at, It, hey there's six more years of
development on. That we don't want to fund. That we're just,
gonna you, know do another fucking skyrimor.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Remaster but it must much. Money it must be at
a point Where, okay we've sunk so much money into,
it we cannot. Stop AND i feel like six.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Years in is the is the is The Perfect dark
and all.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
That there's some cost fallacy of, that, Right, LIKE i
don't that game's already had a huge.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Budget i'd be.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Curious to know what the budget is BECAUSE i feel, like,
ok the amount of times they've spent on that, game
even with the, budget it probably is not the same
As Elder scroll. SIX i feel like that's Just I'M i,
mean what DO i.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Know, well let's see when Was? Everwild when was Ever wild?
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Announced everwild was announced apparently begained development in twenty. Fourteen
oh my, god there was announced in twenty. Nineteen so
if it did begin development twenty, fourteen you, know that
doesn't mean the one hundred developers were working on. It
maybe it was just like some higher up creatives at that.
Point but that's well over that's over a decade of
(41:29):
development on, that and they canceled. That so you, Know
everwild probably is a much smaller team THAN i Was girl,
Six but, FUCK i don't, know, man none of these
decisions make sense to me At, Xbox, so LIKE i,
Would i'm just prepared for anything to happen at this.
Point It's i'm even more pissed off that they did
Acquire bethesda back in the. Day it's great THAT i
(41:50):
can get these things your Game, pass but if it's
at the cost of all these games getting, canceled in
these studios closing, down it is absolutely not worth.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
It SO i don't.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
KNOW i maybe there's some world Where pathesda can like
buy their independence back and like Leave. Xbox that WOULD
i would be so thrilled by. That as someone who
Has xbox and uses it my private primary console and
is usually on Game, Pass, like you, KNOW i like that,
convenience but, man it's it's not worth it if if
we're not going to get these games or the favorite
(42:17):
things are, canceled If blade gets, canceled you, know throw
Those xbox.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
In the, river Like i'm, done you, know at that,
Point i'm.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Out oh, yeah any other thoughts on, This, Taylor.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
No it's just absolute, hell absolute, hell absolute.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Hell, WELL i guess speaking of, hell one thing that
you will build to play in Your xbox Coming august twenty,
six because they can't cancel this one is is A
hell divers is coming over to this. Platform so a
weird case for this is A sony funded, game but
it's a second party ten or, right it's not a
first Party sony, thing but they're bringing it over To,
xbox presumably with play and all the bells and whistles
(43:01):
attached in, there and so, yeah it's a weird case
where you're gonna you, know we've talked about this, recently
words like now you can play gums in your PlayStation
and we'll have The Xbox studios logo pop up before
you boot it, up and now you'll have the opposite
where A sony game will be playable On.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Xbox so. Interesting but, yeah you seem to be particularly
jazzed about this.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
One, YEAH i THINK i think it's the. Trade, hey
we get, gears you get Hell diverse. Too that's that's
what they're their.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Bar that's a fitting. TRADE i see.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
That. Yeah but when this game first came, OUT i
remember my reels just being full of just heroic deaths
and just all the PlayStation PlayStation peeps just rallying, together
and just seeing all these fleets appear like and just
this galactic scale conflict against like the bugs and then
the robots and all these different things and just people
(43:48):
squat together and just rallying and. EVERYTHING i was JUST
i was loving. IT i was eating it, up just
seeing all these people making heroic deaths and sacrifices in
the name of democracy or whatever it's. CALLED i was
eating it all up so. Hard so WHEN i saw
that it was available ON, PC i came so close
to buying it BECAUSE i, thought, Oh ruben's playing, IT
(44:08):
i really want to play with, him AND i think
my other friend had it, Too AND i was really
just itching to get on board and play. It but
when it comes to getting games ON, pc AND i
have a pretty decent gaming, rig but it's not always
like the greatest with the most up to date shooters and.
Whatnot like even running Like Modern, warfare it can run or, Sorry,
warzone it can run War, zone but some of those
(44:30):
main menu screens it can be a little, sluggish but
the gameplay is usually. Fine that being, SAID i held,
off And i'm GLAD i did because WHEN i saw
that this, ANNOUNCED i just got super super jazz the
fact That i'll be able to rally with you, know
my friends, online AND i Just i'm so so stoked
(44:50):
because there's just a lot of things in this GAME
i just want to. Experience i've been looking for something
that has That Starship troopers, vibe And ruben would send me,
reels so just them killing And i'm killing like the
insects and. Whatnot it just it feels Like Starship. Troopers
So i'm so down to just immerse myself into this
game and really just squat up and it just. Fight
(45:12):
i'm Just i'm so excited to try. It So i'm
very very happy that's coming To. Xbox long last and
it's just been feeding my soul. Lately when you Just
i'm seeing all these reels pop out where it shows
like it'll be a scene from a movie where the
soldiers are losing or. Whatnot then like the aircraft bombers
come in and they put like The xbox logo on
the bombers that the guys like on the ground are
like PlayStation player. Logos they're, cheering and it's LIKE i it's,
(45:34):
like here come to. REINFORCEMENTS i can't. WAIT i can't
wait to hit those front lines with the PlayStation and
THE pc players and just uh, yeah free and liberate the.
Universe hell yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
YEAH i Mean i've had a PlayStation for a while,
now BUT i didn't have it when that game first came.
Out IF i, DID i THINK i would have just
impulse bought it because it just seemed like such a
fun time to be playing that. Game AND i think
having that second win of it coming to a new
platform will be really cool Because i'm sure it'll be
super active again and you'll have the mixture of like
all the rookies hitting the ground level mixed with, uh you,
(46:07):
know the veterans who can kind of guide them along
the way and they'll be. Fun SO i could see
myself picking this up alongside, you and, yeah it sounds
like you got some new friends in.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
There, Obviously kirkland has a.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Game travis said he'd be buying it IF i was getting,
it AND i, Said, Travis i'm buying. It he's, like, okay, Okay.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
SO I i then count me in because, yeah the
games is LIKE i think it's like forty bucks or something,
like it's a more forty game and uh and, YEAH
i MEAN I i think it always has looked. GREAT
i THINK i just kind of missed that initial, wave
but this will be a fun, second, third whatever wave
of this game is gonna. Have BUT i think it's
really cool because this game seems super unique And i'm you,
Know i've never Seen Starship, troopers so for, me.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
It's not that.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Vibe BUT i just think the multiplayer in this of,
it but like fighting against bugs and like being on
a team versus like fighting other, PLAYERS i think it
seems particularly. Interesting and Just kirklanin's talked about it a
lot on Side, quest and that's got me very hyped for.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
It Over i've been.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
Close i've been hovering on that by button multiple times
pretty much ever SINCE i got THAT ps. Five so,
Yeah i'm very excited for uh for this to come.
Out and, YEAH i Saw i'll be there with you as,
well so we can do another Another Hell divers review
here in the in the year twenty.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Five it sounds, like so that'll be a good.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
TIME i read that it's it's four man, squads but
initially the team had built the game thinking they were
gonna do five man but just for, playability they reverted
down to four man. Squads so.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Gotcha, yeah, YEAH i MEAN i think it seems like
one of those ones is like pretty, good like almost
like War, zone like rotate people in and o like
maybe any of the plays for a couple of.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
Games then she dips When kirkling logne or something like.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
THAT i feel like it's one of those type of
games where we can kind of rotate people in a
rout or jump out for a, round jump back. In
SO i think that's a that's a that's a good.
Side do you think this? GAME i wonder IF i
could run a switch. TOO i wonder if it'll come
there as well.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
SOMEDAY i was joking about that actually with my other. Buddy,
YEAH i think it could. RUN i think it could
run on switch. Too that'll be its fourth, wave fourth
surge for sure The nintendo fan.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
Base because not to you, know BECAUSE i don't really game,
chat BUT i actually think that would be a cool
element of like using the game chet feature like share,
screen to be able to see your friend's point of
view and see where they're at on the battlefield and
see what they're seeing like on the smaller split screen
thing that they. Have that could actually be really cool
feature mixed with the if it's not super laggy and low,
quality which it very well could. BE i don't, KNOW
i haven't used game chat a whole, lot but, yeah
(48:18):
that would that'd be. COOL i think it could run
on the switch. TOO i THINK i think it. COULD i,
MEAN i don't. KNOW i guess there's a lot of
bugs on screen at some, point so maybe maybe. Not
maybe they would just have to look like, crap like
look Like. Clay i'm not, sure Cure, clay like our our.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
Pige, no, no of, course like like. Mud, Yeah i'm
curious if you can get in and like you get
your four mats squad and you can have if you
have more people more friends. Playing can they just you,
know follow, you jump in with you in the same
area and just you, know you guys have an eight
man squad now all of a, sudden.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Right, YEAH i don't.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
KNOW i don't, know maybe with The xbox update, though
BECAUSE i don't know how much updates they've been, doing
like on a monthly or you, know a few monthly,
basis like getting like they have like a lot of
EVENTS i think in that, game BUT i don't know
how much kind of like new content and stuff BECAUSE
i Know kirkland's jump back in every once in a.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
While but, yeah he'll be it'll be good to have
him as an.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
Expert LIKE i feel, like, yes right before it comes,
out we can even do like a little mini sidequest
where you can kind of teach us the rope so to.
Speak or we could do a stream or something that
could be really.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Fun so a.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Stream would be. Good oh, yeah we.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
Should we should look into. That close to this Is?
August was it the very end Of? August pretty?
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Much? Right mm hmmmm. HMMM i like it's a good.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Pocket BECAUSE i feel like when AM i Playing Donkey
kong and then, YEAH i Think, August i'll be playing
a lot of Don com playing a lot of desk
dranding still and then pick that up before like the
Big fall games come. OUT i think that'll be good,
timing good release release calendar.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
Stuff, yeah BECAUSE i, mean what's what do we Have
fall for the.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Rest of the. Year what do you have like on
your on your?
Speaker 3 (49:44):
LIST i mean the Next call Of, Duty But i'm
really not over the moon for. That it's just inn
other black. Ops oh, BOY i don't know IF i
have really anything new unless they just unless they just
magically drop a New mario party in The, fall Then
i'll Just i'll pluck. That i'm not getting the New.
(50:05):
POKEMON i. Know ruben's been pretty excited about, that the Z.
A i think it is In Lumia. City i've not
been super super stoked on that.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
One so, yeah On september, fourth we have THE dlc
For Indiana. Jones have you beat that game?
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Yet by the, Way?
Speaker 1 (50:21):
No, no, okay SO i don't sounds like you're probably
not gonna be playing THIS, dlc.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Not right, away, Okay and then.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
YEAH i don't Like. Borderlands you're probably not picking that
up right.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
Four? Right, No i'm not gonna not gonna grab that.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
One so, yeah looking at the rest of the year and,
LIKE i don't see a lot of tailor. Things this
is my personal. LIST i don't know if it's there
might be some things like.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Are you A metroid? Guy are you gonna be A prime?
Four whenever that comes.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Out i've never been A metroid guy And i've been
told this is your time to jump.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
In maybe.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
The ship hasn't sailed, yet has?
Speaker 2 (50:57):
It? Okay what is that?
Speaker 3 (51:00):
Mean that was a, question like from from someone who
has not played any of The metro, Games is now
the time to get? In would you?
Speaker 1 (51:08):
Say?
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Sure why?
Speaker 1 (51:11):
NOT i mean the, stories like the stories like, ah
there's some weird alien and it like hijack someone's mind
and then it's a weird, Robot LIKE i DON'T i
don't know.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
If it's the story really these people were to the.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
Lore BUT i, Mean i've been selling so many posts
and things about people like really dissecting like what does
The Donkey kong bananza lower mean for The Donkey kong?
History And i'm, LIKE i don't give a, Fuck LIKE
i don't care if this is young fault pauling what
that means for the? Timeline nintendo's does not. Care you
should not, Care Like mario timeline does not matter if
this old, timeline like that's the thing that kind of.
(51:41):
Exists but even that is a total. Mess but, like
does anyone care About mario Or Donkey kong? Timeline like
it's a complete zero for, me AND i kind Of
metroid maybe is more. Interesting Maybe i'm not giving that enough,
credit BUT i don't. KNOW i feel Like prime For
it would be a good time to jump, in just
if you're looking for something new and flashy for your switch.
TO i think that would Be that would be more
my pitch more than like actually, like oh you got
(52:01):
to get Into metroid. NOW i feel like it would just, be,
uh you gotta check, out like a new game for the.
Console BUT i do have A prime or Not prime
For dread on a physical, Card so if you don't
want to boril, that let me know.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
You could play that because that's a great Too detroid.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Game and there's obviously a few other two d ones
On Nintendo Switch, online Like Zero missions on The Game
Boy one that's a really great One fusion obviously THE og,
One so there's there's a lot of. Opportunity but you,
know not my top, series but some, good good games.
Speaker 2 (52:27):
Nonetheless mm hmmm, cool, yeah. COOL i think that's probably
it for this week's. Episode it's a little you, know
short and, sweet but LIKE i, said Death straining two
spoiler discussion is probably hitting the feeds later this, week
so you can look forward to. That.
Speaker 1 (52:43):
YEAH i think that's gonna be. Everything thank You taylor
for joining, me and we'll see you all next.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
Time bye, bye
