Get Out of Your Own Way with April Yee: And get what you want through transformative self-care

What does getting in your own way look like? Here are a few ways I’ve gotten in my own way: - Hustling for worthiness - Letting other people define my value and worth - Ignoring my body by not taking care of myself - Lying to myself and others, aka people-pleasing - Thinking I wasn’t good enough. Here are a few things I’ve practiced to get out of my own way: - Asking myself “What brings me joy?” and honoring the answers - Being okay with me - nothing is wrong with me and my life - Connecting with my body, listening to it, honoring it - Telling the truth to myself, then to others if I want to - Loving myself no matter what - Practice, practice, practice. At the end of each episode, I present new questions for you to engage with. Answering the questions helps you gain insight and clarity for yourself. You’ll hear new perspectives on self-care and how you can feel empowered by caring for yourself. Through small acts of kindness to yourself, you can strengthen your relationship with yourself. I talk about self-care and self-care practices in a deep and meaningful way, and offer transformative, expanded possibilities for how you can view yourself and your life, for how you can show up for yourself and your life. If you don’t yet, you’ll start to believe that you are worthy, valuable, and good enough. You’ll be able to see how you’ve gotten in your own way, how to get out of your own way, and how to create what you want. You’ll start making more aligned decisions, which will affect your whole life. It’s about even more self-love and self-acceptance and how we get there. https://thehealingmodalities.com/

In this episode, I share the concepts of unconditional love and lovability. Do you know that love and loving never hurts? Loving is the opposite of hurt. When we think we can protect ourselves from being hurt by not loving someone who we want to love, we’re just hurting ourselves ahead of time. And when we think our lovability is related to whether someone loves us or not, we’re getting it wrong. What if we can have unconditional l...

Well, have you ever found yourself analyzing the pros and cons of a decision for days, weeks, even months instead of actually making the decision? In this episode, I share the concept that it’s not better over there than it is right here. What does that mean? When we’re focused on achieving our goals and we think that once we achieve them, our life will be better, we may be in for a surprise. Things will be different, not necessarily better. Life will still be 50/50 - yes, certain things may be “better” and other problems may arise that haven’t been there before achieving the...

In this episode, I talk about the concept that life is 50/50 - 50% positive emotions, 50% negative emotions - and what happens when we try to deny the 50% that is negative. When we don’t know or understand that our lives are 50/50, when we’re experiencing the 50% negative aspects, we think something terribly wrong is happening. But if that 50% is part of our lives, we’re just experiencing THAT part of our lives. Nothing has gone wr...
