No Hells be children, Hell Hell.

Speaker 9 (07:57):
Hell.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
My name is DJ Vin and yes I am the
vin Man, the vin Meister, the one who creates vinsane
setlists that go against the algorithms of traditional rock radio.
And that was a song called hell Is for Children
by Pat Benatar, taking off of her sophomore album Crimes
of Passion from nineteen eighty and many female singers will

(10:05):
say they're influenced. Then they look up to Pat Benatar
as one of the legends of female rock with the
attitude and the swagger that she had and that incredible
vocal range. But still she was able to do just
raspiness when needed, just like in the song we heard
Hells for Children. And before that, we started off the

(10:25):
show with a song called Seether by ruk AsSalt, taking
off of their debut album, American Thighs from nineteen ninety
four now. Last week, obviously there was no Beyond the
Realms of Rock due to DJ Hollywood taking over the
slot with a two hour Ozzie tribute. Sadly, as everyone

(10:47):
knows in the world of rock, Ozzy Osbourne did pass
away on July the twenty second, and so DJ Hollywood
did that tribute for a couple hours. It was a
great show. He was very emotional about it, and the
world was emotional, and so definitely Ozzie is a legend
and will continue to live on in his music. So

(11:09):
before that, though, about a week or so before, there
was the Waiting Abigail show at the Whiskey of Go Go,
and I was there along with DJ Hollywood, and people
would look at as like, are you guys twins? And
I'm like, you know what, I hear that quite often
it's like we're what in the same anyway. At that show,

(11:33):
so all these bands were opening up for La Guns,
and four of the six bands had female singers. Now,
I do play a lot of female singers in between
a lot of male front and bands on Beyond the
Realms of Rock, but there are so many bands out

(11:54):
there with female singers, female musicians. I just decided, you
know what, let me just do ale a full show
dedicated to ladies called Women of Rock. So that's what
I'm doing today. Obviously, we started with a Luk assault
and then Pat Benattar, and now it's time for something new.

(12:14):
Because on every show Beyond the Realms of Rock, I
want to make sure that I go ahead and play
a few brand new tracks, either from an established artist
or a brand new band, because, as you guys know,
I love finding new stuff and sharing it with all
of you. So this is a brand new track from
a singer guitarist that totally kicks ass and she simply

(12:35):
calls herself Memy and the name of the song is Miracle.
This is Beyond the Realms of Rock On ninety nine
point one FM KOBP, Long Beach, California, What's.

Speaker 4 (13:16):

new KLBP ninety nine point one f M KLBP, Long Beach, California,

DJ vinn I am the vin Man. And that was
a killer track by Memi called Miracle. So Memi she's
a Korean artist who sings in both English as you

(15:51):
just heard and Korean, which is her native language. And
I've seen some videos with her, and I love the
fact that she's playing a gifts An SG guitar, kind
of like Angus Young from a CDC and Tony Iomi
from Black Sabbage. So that's really cool. And coming up next, Now,
this looks like we're already shaping up to be an

(16:11):

Speaker 15 (23:50):
Play something different, clean, beyond the realm of rock.

Speaker 20 (24:01):
We play different.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
You're listening to the vin Man DJ vin And that
was a song called for the record by Perilandra, taking
off of their debut full length album Street Magic from
twenty twenty one. And while the powerhouse vocals there of
Cassandra Carson just amazing, I mean right up there with
Lizzie Hale from Hailstorm. And you know, not that I

(24:27):
think about it, I wonder if they've even toured together.
That would be a pretty cool tour to see Peralandra
and Hailstorm together. Anyway, before that, we had Pacifica with
a song Premature Rejection. That band is from Argentina and
love the indie rock from them. I've played other tracks
from Pacifica before on the show, and keep an ear
out for that particular band.

Speaker 20 (24:49):
Coming up next.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Now we have some punk rock. So we just played
some metal, we played some indie rock. Now it's time
for some pop punk, post punk, pop whatever. This is
a song from the Donna's called Take It Off.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
I'm gonna take a dream, but I've had a few before.

alone and alf let see take it out, take it off,
baby for me, taking it out, take it off baby
to me.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Playing the rock that gives you the nostalgic fields, yes, yes, yes,
and playing the new stuff that keeps you awake.

Speaker 15 (27:49):
Wow, that was different.

Speaker 20 (27:52):
You're listening to beyond the realms of rock on the

Speaker 27 (28:32):

Speaker 7 (30:23):
S.

Speaker 32 (30:30):
Because I'm rereading the thousand.

Speaker 7 (30:58):
Smile.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
We're in the middle of one hour of commercial free
rock beyond the realms of rock right here on k
K kick k l BP. All right, you're listening to
the ben Man. And that was a song called hate
You by Delana, taking off of her second album called
Inside Out from two thousand and nine. That's a really
cool track by Delana, who is a South African singer

(32:09):
songwriter who placed second as the runner up on the
reality show Rockstar Supernova back in two thousand and six. Now,
that was a show that was hosted by Dave Navarro
and the band that was looking for a singer was
Tommy Leon drums, Gilby Clark on guitar, Jason Newsted on bass,
and they did do one album after the show was
over with the winner, who was Lucas Rossi, but then

(32:32):
the band just fell apart quickly after that. With that
being said, I think it's a perfect time now to
tickle our funny bones with a moment of mirth. All right,
it's time for a moment of mirth on beyond the
realms of rock. Because we live in a world that

(32:55):
has a lot of serious issues and tragedies around the globe,
and so if we want to keep our sanity, we
need a little levity each day to cackle, shortle cafar, giggle, snort,
and howl with uncontrolled outbursts of glee, hilarity and merriment.
So today's moment of mirth comes from Kathleen Madigan.

Speaker 33 (33:17):
Even if I did something bad, I couldn't tell Jesus.
I had to go to confession. I had to get
in a creepy closet with a guy in the dark,
and then I had to tell him that he's gonna
tell a guy. And I wasn't good at confession because
my dad, for many years was a defense attorney, and
starting in second grade, he would tell us all at
the dinner table, I want all of you kids to remember,

(33:38):
if the police capture you, are anyone in a physician
of authority, ask you questions, your response, no matter what
are I do not recall I need an attorney.

Speaker 14 (33:49):
I do not recall.

Speaker 27 (33:50):
I need an attorney.

Speaker 33 (33:53):
Ninety percent of people are in prison because they can't
keep their mouths juged.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Never ever snitch yourself.

Speaker 33 (34:03):
And then I would go to confession in the closet
and the priest would go, Kathleen, have you done anything bad?
Is there anything you'd like to tell me about? I'm
not falling for this. My dad's probably planted him here.
I know, I know what I'm supposed to say. I'm sorry, father,
but I do not recall, and I need an attorney. Honey,

(34:35):
you're only in second grade. Well maybe you don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
This fathering anything.

Speaker 33 (34:38):
But ninety percent of people are in prison because they
can't keep their mouth shut.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
If you'd like some more information.

Speaker 15 (34:47):
On that.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Rocking you on the beach on ninety nine point one
FM kk LBP, I'm giving.

Speaker 6 (35:12):

Speaker 34 (35:17):

Speaker 6 (35:35):

Speaker 3 (35:39):
See my station.

Speaker 34 (35:48):

Speaker 7 (35:53):

Speaker 3 (36:02):
I don't give it a reputations.

Speaker 9 (36:07):
I have a bad shot.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
Go stay giant, check.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
A bad repetition, shout.

Speaker 9 (36:20):
Wow wow.

Speaker 6 (36:26):

Speaker 2 (36:39):

Speaker 8 (36:53):
I can't bad reputations everywhere.

Speaker 6 (37:12):
Generation?

Speaker 1 (37:39):
I am the vin Man DJ Vin and talk about
a high octane rock and roll track. I mean, I
absolutely freaking love the attitude and the raspy, throaty vocal
that Joan does on this song. It's it's just it's
just one of my favorites. Time now for another brand

(38:00):
new track of the show. This is from a band
called Blitz and the song is Fight or Flight And
you're listening to Beyond the Realms of Rock on ninety
nine point one FM KLBP, Long Beach, California.

Speaker 16 (38:19):
I was living in the city with my hopes and dreams,
trying to make something to live.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Don't forget to eat because in the middle of the
scene doesn't let you live.

Speaker 16 (38:28):
But they like every one a while, they don't let
me free.

Speaker 9 (38:31):

Speaker 28 (38:38):

say the woman if I can't even say myself.

Speaker 9 (38:55):
Yeah, myself, don't forever. Yeah that be so well down
the store, feel so.

Speaker 7 (39:14):
Bad side.

Speaker 28 (39:24):
That the test is coming. I don't have a sense

(39:54):
of my name.

Speaker 16 (39:55):
I think that I expected Hollywood to bring these games
and then I see that there's a hunt thousand means
to sync the teken to the industry. I'm back in
the tree to be fun a fama second day and night.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
Ninety nine point one FM KKKKKLBP. All right, you're hanging
out with the vin Man on Beyond the Realms of
Rock here on KLBP. And how can I do a
women of rock radio show and not include the legendary
Ann Wilson from Heart That was a song called the
Wolf by Heart, taking off of their self titled album

(50:35):
from nineteen eighty five. Regardless of what songs she sings,
she's amazing. And I think that both Ann Wilson and
Pat Benattar with their songs from the seventies and the eighties,
both of them super influential to many female rockers that
idolize them. Up next is a band that fuses Japanese
pop music with heavy metal and it's sung by little girls.

(51:01):
And if you've never heard this before, be prepared to
be a little freaked out about how strange it is,
but addictively how good it is, and actually watching the
