That's all right, Welcome to Beyond the Realms of Rock.

(07:37):
My name is DJ Vin. Yes, I am the vin Man,
the vin Meister, the one who creates vinsane setlis that
go against the algorithms of traditional rock radio. And that
was a track called Still Remains by Stone Tuple Pilots
by off the album Purple from nineteen ninety four, and
I love this band this this one particular song. There's

(08:00):
a line in that right there in the chorus where
Scott sings take a bath, I'll drink the water that
you leave if you should die before me ask if
you can bring a friend man. I've always focused on
those words, those lyrics as kind of the ultimate lines

(08:22):
of love, like this person loves the other one so
much that they're willing to drink dirty bath water and
die for them.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Awesome song. The very first song that we played to
start off the show was a song called Rebel Girl
by Bikini Hill, released back in nineteen ninety three, and
this song is actually considered a classic example of punk
music girl punk, and it's actually foundational for this riot
girl movement back in the nineteen nineties. And Rebel Girl

(08:57):
was actually listed at number two ninety six on the
updated list of Rolling Stones five hundred Greatest Songs of
All Time. So high praise indeed. Okay, now it's time
for something new, because you guys already know every show
of Beyond the Realms of Rock, I make sure to
play a few brand new tracks, either from an established

(09:18):
artist or a brand new band, because I just love
finding new songs, new stuff and sharing it with all
of you. So here's a brand new song. It was
just released by AFI. The song is called behind the Clock,
and when you hear it, it's super different. Davey Havoc's

(09:39):
voice is very different in this song, but I dig it.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
I like the change.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I think it's very cool. Anyway, here we go AFI
behind the Clock on Beyond the Realms of Rock, on KLBP, I.

Speaker 13 (10:05):

Speaker 2 (13:41):
On the new KALBB You're listening to Beyond the Realms
of Rock with the ben Man DJ Vinn. And that
was a brand new song by a f I called
Behind the Clock, and that's going to be on their
upcoming twelfth album entitled Silver Bleeds the Black Sun, which
is going to be released on October third, twenty twenty five.

(14:02):
And can you believe it's been now thirty years since
the release of their debut album back in ninety five.
That's crazy. I can't believe thirty years has passed already. Anyway,
on this song behind the Clock, it's this is a
cool song. I mean, Davey Havoc is giving total gothrock
vibes here. He has this super deep baritone vocal, and

(14:24):
the music itself is really cool. I love that driving
bassline and the guitars are kind of reminiscent of the
Edge from You two. So overall, I'm totally into this song.
I love it, and we're gonna continue with the show
here with another song that I absolutely love. This is
a very cool band. This is phil X and the Drills,

(14:44):
and the song is playing fair on Beyond the Realms
of Rock.

these aloud.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
Need to introduce myself.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Come on not again. I just heard this song an
hour ago. Sweet Silver, play something different.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Please beyond the realms of rock, We play different. I
am the vin Man DJ Vinn and thanks for listening
to beyond the realms of rock and joining me on
this freaky, crazy variety rock showed ride that I got

(22:26):
going on here. That last song was a song called
Midnight Mover by accept taking off of Metal Heart from
nineteen eighty five, and before that we had Phil X
and the Drills, with a song called Playing Fair and
that was from his third album from twenty twelve. So
Phil X, he's Canadian and he is the official league

(22:49):
guitar player for bon Jovi since taken over for Richie
Sambora back in twenty thirteen. And I absolutely love this
dude's vocals and that vocal melody line and chorus.

Speaker 10 (23:00):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I mean, I dig when bands just start a song
with the chorus, and in this case, Phil X, he
starts the chorus kind of with this altered arpeggiated guitar progression.
It's just it's fantastic and just the melody, the melody,
I love it. In this song, I just want to
sing along and just you know, singing out loud, and

(23:22):
I totally enjoy it. Now coming up next, I implore
you stop whatever it is you're doing and listen to
the lyrics of this upcoming song. I mean, not only
are they hilarious, but at the same time, they're kind
of touching when you realize what this dude is trying
to say to his girl. Here's a song called Normal

(23:42):
Chicks by the band Bowling for Soup.

Speaker 21 (23:51):
You're not Pamela Lyly, but you look good to me.
You know, Ali, but you're so much fun.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Spish and marry the dam man just gone, Yeah, comes
the work.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
We're in the middle of one hour of commercial free rock.
I'm beyond the realms of rock right here.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
On kkkick KLBP. And that last song that you just
heard was a song called the Damn by Daughtry, taking
off of his EP Shock to the System Part One
from twenty twenty four, and wow, that was just a
heavy monster of a song. And back in January of
twenty twenty four, Dodger did an interview with The Daily

(31:44):
Herald and he said that he grew tired of producing
softer sounding music at the recommendation of RCA Records, that
he did not always feel passionate about making and so, man,
this song wo.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Heavy tune. I loved it.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
And before that we heard a song called normal Chicks
by Bowlding for Soup, taking off of their album Lunch
Drunk Love from twenty thirteen, which was their ninth album,
and such a funny song. But man, some of my
favorite lines are where he says, and it's okay if
you eat a whole pizza and you got great natural boobies,

(32:23):
and then the chorus where he says, I like you
in sweatpants, no makeup. I even like your messed up hair.
You're just perfect right when you wake up. You're so
pretty when you don't care. There's nothing you need to fix.
I like normal Chicks. Ah, such a sweet song. All right,
I think it's a perfect time now to go ahead

(32:44):
and tickle our funny bones with a moment of mirth.
All right, it's time for a moment of mirth on
beyond the realms of rock. Because we live in a
world that has a lot of serious issues and tragedies
around the globe. So if we want to keep our sanity,

(33:05):
we need a little levity each day to cackle, shortle, defog, giggle, snore,
and howl with uncontrolled outbursts of glee, hilarity and merriment.
So today's moment of mirth comes from the legendary George Carlin.

Speaker 28 (33:21):
It's the old American double standard. You know, say one thing,
do something different, and of course the country is founded
on the double standard.

Speaker 7 (33:29):
That's our history.

Speaker 28 (33:30):
We were founded on a very basic double standard. This
country was founded by slave owners who wanted to be free.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
Am I right?

Speaker 28 (33:42):
A group of slave owners who wanted to be free,
so they killed a lot of white English people in
order to continue owning their black African people so they
can wipe out the rest of the red Indian people
and move west and steal the rest of the land
from the brown Mexican people. Given them a place to
take off and drop their nuclear weapons on the Yellow Japan.
You know, what the motto, you know what the motto

(34:05):
of this country want to be? You give us a color,
we'll wipe that out.

Speaker 14 (34:10):
We got it.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Rocking you on the beach ninety nine point one f

Man Man, my name is DJ the vin Man, right

(38:01):
here on beyond the Realms of Rock. And that was
a song called Sticks and Stones by a band called
Kitty in a Casket. And one of the things that
I love love about doing the show is that I
post the recordings of my radio shows on the Internet,
and I could see that I have listeners in over
one hundred and fifteen countries, and so from time to

(38:24):
time I get band suggestions from around the world, and
this particular band was suggested by Sean Decker from Germany,
and this band, Kitty and a Casket obviously a female
fronted band. They're from Austria, from Vienna, Austria. They formed
back in two thousand and eight and and kind of
hear their styles, kind of this punk rock, rock and

(38:44):
roll kind of band. I dig the vibe of what's
going on here. I've listened to a number of songs
and they're a cool band, So check them out. It's
called the band is called Kitty in a Casket. And
right now it's time for another brand new track of
the show. This is Los Angele was bass band returned
to Dust with a new song called Shine.

All right, I'm the vin Man DJ Vin. And that
was a song called Shine by a band called Return
to Dust and that song is taking off their EP
Speak Like the Dead, which was just released August first,
twenty twenty five. Now, as I said previous to the song,
this is a Los Angeles based band. They only formed
a few years ago, back in twenty twenty two, and

(42:27):
I gotta give these guys props. I'm gonna call out
these guys, and I hope I don't but you your names, guys,
But on guitar and vocals we have Maddie Bylosky on
bass and vocals, Graham Stanish on guitar, Sebastian Gonzales, and
on drums London Hudson. And I'm definitely gonna keep an
ear out for these guys because I totally dig what's
going on here. Now it's time for our yacht rock

(42:50):
track of the show. I like to play some yacht
rock sometimes because it just feels good to sit back,
relax and just mellow out. Now, I don't play yacht
rock every single show, but whenever I feel inclined to

(43:11):
just kind of chill out, I'll play some classic yacht
rock or yacht rock. And actually, here's a recent yacht
rock track from the band Sugar Ray. This is called
Coconut Bay co Oh.

I go to the Caribbean, I love listening to this style.
Of music, you know a little bit tropical or what
have you.

Speaker 14 (46:51):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
That was a song called Coconut Bay by Sugar Ray
off of their album Little YACHTI from twenty nineteen. The album,
the entire album is kind of has this yacht rock
theme to it, very a little bit of reggae, this
kind of style going on tropical. I totally dig it.
So I'm gonna sit back, relax here with my rum

(47:15):
and coke, a little Kuba libre hanging out here, put
my sunglasses on, and just listen to the ocean. Actually,
I'm gonna listen to some eaves plumb right now. This
