Speaker 2 (08:45):
My name is DJ Vin and yes I am the
Vin Man, the Vin Meister, the one who creates the
incredible set lists that go against the algorithms of traditional
rock radio. And that was a song called Flood by
Jarson Clay taking off of their self titled debut from
ninety five, And that particular mix is actually called the
(09:06):
Adrian Belle Electric Guitar Mix, named after the producer of
this specific song, Adrian Blue. He is known as a
guitarist for King Crimson and he's you know, into experimental
rock and all that kind of stuff. But that electric
guitar mix with you know, the freaky kind of guitars
and raising the distorted guitars in the mix is because
(09:28):
of Adrian Blue. That's the song and that's the version
that we heard back in the nineties mostly, but if
you go to the album, you're only gonna hear really just.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
The acoustic version.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
And before that, we started off the show with Velvet
Revolver with a song called Dirty Little Thing from their
debut album Contra Band. And on that particular song, looks
like the band got in a little trouble with a
band called Dirty Deeds who sued Velvet Revolver and they
won for plagarism and the Velvet Revolver had to settle.
(10:00):
If you go and listen to a track on YouTube
called Cyber Babe by the band Dirty Deeds, the main
guitar riff is slower, but it's virtually identical to this
Velvet Revolver song Dirty Little Deed.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Oh Well, what are you gonna do? Pay up, guys.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
Up.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Next, we have something brand new, because on every show
Beyond the Realms of Rock, I make sure to play
a few brand new tracks from either an established artist
or a brand new band because I love finding new
stuff and sharing it with all of you. So right now,
here's a local Los Angeles band called Tijuana Bullfight and
a brand new single called Fire, and you're listening to

The station with the best, best, best music, best music,
I loves. You're listening to me all the realms of
on the new KOVP. I am the vin Man DJ
vinn And this is Beyond the Realms of Rock. And
that was local Los Angeles band Tijuana Bullfight with a
(14:11):
brand new single called Fire, which was just released on
July twenty eighth, twenty twenty five. Now I was checking
out the backstory on the song. Looks like they wrote
the song during the Verdugo Hills Blaze, which is about
five years ago, back in twenty twenty. Now, Verdugo Hills,
that's the community and area in the hills above Glendale, California,
(14:32):
not too far from where I live myself, And they
sat on this track for years and they just didn't
want to release it, and they were about to release it,
and then what happens these devastating wildfires here in California
that just destroyed Pacific Palisades and Altadena. So they didn't
release it at that time, but now they felt, Okay,
it's time to go and release it because the song
(14:54):
really does underscore the resilience of these communities. And after all,
the song really is about just kind of running through
the flames and not running away from them. So good
for these guys that was Juanna Bullfight. Check them out
all right, now listen to what I'm hearing.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (15:13):

Speaker 1 (23:49):
This song is so great.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
And before that we had a song called the Weight
by Killing Joke, another song that I totally dig. And
right now it's time for some German goth rock. Here's

Speaker 1 (31:09):
We're in the middle of one hour of commercial free rock.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
I'm beyond the realms of rock right here ONKIKLBP. All right,
I appreciate everyone listening to Beyond the Realms of Rock.
My name is DJ Vin the vin Man, And that
was a song called Mental Hopscotch by Missing Persons, and
that was taken off of their EP, their debut EP
from nineteen eighty and most people know Missing Persons as
(31:33):
the band who released the song walking in LA. They
also did words another song called Destination Unknown. So those
are songs that you really hear mostly on flashback radio,
but this particular song, it was a minor hit here
in Los Angeles. There was another radio station here at
that time that started playing Mental Hopscotch and it actually
(31:56):
went up the charts locally. But great song to hear
now at this time. And before that, we had a
song called Choices by German goth rock band The Fright.
And I think now it's the perfect time to go
ahead and tackle for our funny bones with a moment
of mirth. All right, it's time for a moment of
(32:19):
mirth on Beyond the Realms of Rock, because we live
in a world that has a lot of serious issues
and tragedies around the globe, and so if we want
to keep our sanity, we need a little levity each
day to cackle shortle gefaw, giggle, snore, and howl with
uncontrolled outbursts of glee, hilarity and merriment. So today's moment
(32:42):
of mirth comes from Brian Reagan.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
You what the lamest crime is? Loitering?
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Loitering?
Speaker 25 (32:51):
You imagine a guy with a thirty page rap sheet.
That's all it says on there, loitering, flittering, cloitering, cloiter
employ loittering.
Speaker 6 (32:58):
Guy's got nowhere to go, fluttering clutter. What do you
do with a guy like that?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Throw him in jail?
Speaker 6 (33:04):
We can't go anywhere.
Speaker 25 (33:09):
Loitering is something really a crime when it's remedied as
easily as all right?
Speaker 26 (33:14):
Move along?
Speaker 25 (33:19):
And on the other end of the spectrum, I think
the most horrible name for a crime has to be manslaughter? Damn,
can you please change the terminology? Can anything conjure up
anything more hideous?
Speaker 18 (33:33):
So what are you in for?
Speaker 14 (33:34):
Man?
Speaker 12 (33:35):
Slaughter?
Speaker 5 (33:42):
Man just like a pig.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
Put him on a spit, put an outlet in his mouth.
Speaker 12 (33:53):
Who are you in for?
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Loitering?
Speaker 6 (33:57):
I'm like you man, I live on the edge. They're
like you gotta move on. I'm like, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Rocking you on the beach ninety nine point one FM

Speaker 3 (35:16):
And merry brother time say on man, you got it,
(36:24):
man said.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
After And as if you didn't know, that was a
song called We Die Young by Allison Chains, taking off
of their debut album Facelift from nineteen ninety And when
(36:50):
that album came out, I was like, who the hell
is this?
Speaker 27 (36:55):
It was?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
It was metal, but not quite metal. It was just
there was something different about those vocals and the weird harmonies,
and it was so different. I loved this band right
from the beginning. And Jerry Cantrell he said, when he
wrote this song We Die Young, he was riding the
bus to rehearsal and on the bus he's seeing all
(37:18):
these nine, ten eleven year old kids with beepers dealing drugs.
And he said, the sight of a ten year old
kid with a beeper and a cell phone dealing drugs
equaled we Die Young to me end quote, And so
fantastic song. And right now it's time for another brand
new track of the show on Beyond the Realms of Rock.
(37:41):
And so here is Canadian artist One with a brand
new single called Float on Beyond the Realms of Rock.
Speaker 6 (38:14):
Let it call the energy through it away from the craven.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
For selling that.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
It's change word we set up.
Speaker 5 (39:00):

Speaker 21 (39:06):

Long Beach, California. And this is Beyond the Realms of Rock.
And that was a brand new track by Ony called Float,
taking off of the new EP Genesis Part two, released
on August first, twenty twenty five. I really dig the
atmospherics going on in this modern metal track, really cool song.
(41:51):
I like Onie's voice, and if you look at his
back catalog, looks like he has about three albums, a
bunch of EPs and singles, So go ahead and check
out Onye cool stuff. All right, let's continue with the show,
and here's a little bit of blind melon for you.
Speaker 26 (42:12):
