rock radio. Welcome to Beyond the Realms of Rock. And
that track that you just heard was called Generation Swine
by Motley Crue, taking off of their seventh album Generation
Swine from nineteen ninety seven, and obviously that sounded nothing
(07:54):
like Motley Crue from the nineteen eighties. That wasn't even
a heavy metal track. That was an alternative rock track,
but you know what, alternative rock ruled the airwaves back
in the late nineties.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
And we started off today's setlists with some britpop by
The Libertines with a track called Run Run Run, taking
off of their last album which from twenty twenty four
call All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade. All Right, Time

Speaker 2 (12:45):
You're listening to Beyond the Realms of Rock on KLBP
in Long Beach, California. And that was a brand new
single released on September fifth, twenty five by the band
Sticks and Stones called Feel Again, and if you go
to their website, their bio states there quote. Sticks and
Stones are a Canadian hard rock band based out of Toronto, Ontario.
Led by brothers Nicholas and Robert Lesanti. This hell raising
(13:09):
band brings a ton of energy and excitement to every show.
They're hard hitting riffs, intricate guitar solos, and heavy breakdowns.
We'll have you grooving along, combining their love for rock
and metal music from the seventies, eighties, nineties, and two
thousands with their ambitious personalities and unified dream of sharing
their music on the world stage. So man, that was
a really cool track. I love the melodicism in there
(13:31):
mixed with the heaviness and really cool track. I'm gonna
follow this band and hopefully play some more music from
Stix and Stones from Canada. Time now to go back
to the early two thousands for a little punk rock
one oh one. This is a band called Bowling for
Soup and you're listening to Beyond the Realms of Rock.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Play something different, Please beyond the realms of rock, we
play different.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
I am the vin Man, DJ Vin, thank you for
listening to Beyond the Realms of rock right here in
Long Beach, California. And that was a track called Fame
by the band Unto others taken off of the third album,
Never never Land, which was just released last year in
twenty twenty four. And this is a goth metal band
from Portland, Oregon. They formed back in twenty seventeen. Some
say goth metal, goth rock, whatever you want to call it,
(21:12):
but that was a really cool track. I've been getting
into this band heavily over the last year since the
release of their album Never never Land, and I've played
several tracks and I'll continue to play some more. And
before that, we had a band called Bowling for Soup
with a track called punk Rock one oh one from
their album Drunk Enough to Dance from two thousand and two,
and that wasn't on their original release, but it did
(21:35):
appear on their two thousand and three re release. Really
cool track. Time now for our super massive classic track
of the show. And today's super massive classic comes from
an album that knocked off Michael Jackson's Dangerous from the
number one spot on the US Billboard two hundred charts
(21:55):
back on January eleventh, nineteen ninety two. This is a
little known obscure band called Nirvana with a track called
Drain You and You're listening to Beyond the Realms Rock
on ninety nine point one FM klbpe.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Never says I'm mocking you.
Speaker 5 (22:21):

Yo Rocking you on the Beach ninety nine point one
F m k k k k k l BP.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Welcome back to Beyond the Realm of Rock. I am
your DJ Extraordinaire, DJ Vinn the vin Man. And that
was the super massive classic track of the show called
Drain You by Nirvana, taking off of their just Magnum
Opus never Mind from nineteen ninety one. And when this
album was released never Mind Actually, it became an unexpected
(26:22):
just critical and commercial success worldwide. But by January of
nineteen ninety two, the album was selling on average check
this out over three hundred thousand copies a week due
to just massive radio airplay and the videos for smells
like teen Spiriit come as you are in Bloom and
Lithium that were in heavy rotation on MTV.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
And this album, never.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Mind, is among the most acclaimed and influential albums in
the history of music. And it was added by the
Library of Congress to the National Recording Registry in two
thousand and four for being culturally, historically, and esthetically significant.
And it's frequently ranked highly on all lists of the
greatest albums of all time. And this album has sold
(27:08):
over thirty million albums worldwide. Now that's a super massive classic.
It's time now to go ahead and tickle our phoney
bones with a moment of mirth. All right, It's time
(27:28):
for a moment of mirth on beyond the realms of rock.
Because we live in a world that has a lot
of serious issues and tragedies around the globe, and so
if we want to keep our sanity, we need a
little levity each day to cackle, shortle, gfar, giggle, snort,
and howl with uncontrolled outbursts of glee, hilarity and merriment.
(27:51):
So today's moment of mirth comes from Colin quinn words.
Speaker 21 (27:56):
Her words are loaded words of triggers, and as you know,
the Second Amendment and the First Amendment overlapping at all times.
And of course you know we can blame the press.
First of all, the press is not even the press anymore.
The press is now all of a anybody has any
kind of a computer or a phone, you're actually the press.
How do you think the journalists feel at this point?
(28:17):
You could win six Pulitzs cover eight wars, but some
bloggiests more hits on you that week and they tag
they're it, and you're out.
Speaker 22 (28:26):
That's it.
Speaker 21 (28:26):
And the press was locked out of the convention. By
the way, they were locked out the founding fathers freedom
of the press starting a couple of months. When we're done,
they shut the windows and lock them out of the
whole thing. Because the press and now the press, obviously
there's two sides, and that's it. You have to see
the country one way or the other. There's no middle ground,
there's nobody in the middle. You have to see this
(28:47):
country as either it's in danger of becoming a right
wing islamophobic, homophobic xenophobic nothing to fear but phobe itself
taken over, or it's a left wing socialist, terrorist anarchist
about to take over. There's nobody in the middle. I
mean there's people in the middle like myself, but nobody.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
There's no party for you.
Speaker 21 (29:06):
If you're like me, pro gun, pro choice, pro death penalty,
pro gay marriage, all those things, what do they add
up to? Anti overcrowding.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Thank you, Bud.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
We're in the middle of one hour of commercial free rock.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
I am the vin Man DJ Vin.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
And that was a track called only a Lad by
Oingo Boingo, which is a title track from their album
from nineteen eighty one that was actually their debut album.
And nineteen eighty one was was a massive year for
video games, the releases in that year, and just just
a couple of notable releases you had Donkey Kong was released,
(38:59):
Frogger Galaga and Tempest, and any of you guys who
lived at that time, if you were a teenager preteen
right around that time, man, you were pumping quarters left
and right into the arcade at that time. But man,
what a glorious time it was. As far as this song,
only lad and the album itself. Discussing the actual song's
(39:19):
themes back in nineteen ninety three, the founding member, vocalist,
and visionary of the band, Danny Elfman, He commented that
the intention of the album was to be angry and
keep a sense of humor at the same time, explaining
that the songs themselves may not be delivered real seriously,
but there's a point which I intend not to be
(39:39):
taken lightly, and that people should not be forced to
believe any social or political agenda. He said to me,
all organized political groups have a sense of absurdity to them.
It's open to be mocked or satirized.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Huh. Apparently not anymore.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
In the year twenty twenty five, Danny Elfman said that
over forty years ago, and look at where we are today.
Time down for another brand new track of the show
by a brother and sister duo in their teens, creating
a massive buzz. This is a band called the Molotovs
with a track called More More, More On Beyond the
(40:21):
Realms of Rock.
Speaker 22 (40:34):
I wont chop on a Sunday. I'm no what's I

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Fie ninety nine point one FM KKKKKLBP. Thank you for
hanging out with me the Vin Man DJ Vin right
here on beyond the Realms of Rock. And that was
a new track by the Molotophs called More and More
(42:34):
and More. It was a single that they released back
on March twenty first, twenty twenty five. And for me,
I I just love this this this brit pop, this
kind of power pop punk stuff and just a really
cool song, very fun, upbeat and Kerrang magazine had this
to say about the band. This is a brand new
band again, they said this quote. The Molotovs have recently
(42:57):
announced their biggest London show, Tody, the young sibling duo
seventeen year old vocalist guitarist Matthew Cartlidge and nineteen year
old Bassis vocalist isc Cartledge, will headline the fifteen hundred
capacity Electric Ballroom in Camden on October twenty third, twenty
twenty five. The show will follow their North American support
(43:20):
slot with the Mighty Sex Pistols and Frank Carter, whose
tour kicks off at Dallas Longholder and Ballroom on September
sixteenth and wraps up at The Pearl in Las Vegas
on October seventeenth.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
End quote.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
So these young kids, they have such a big buzz
around them and they've only released a few singles, but
their forthcoming debut album, which is going to be called
Wasted on Youth, is set to be released on January thirtieth,
twenty twenty six, on Marshall Records. Up next, we have
some heavy alt rock coming out of Australia. This is
a band called Taylor Made Rejects, and you're listening to
(43:56):
the Vinman on Beyond the Realms of Rock.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
Inside, I'm a clutter.
Speaker 25 (44:22):
