And that was a song called you Can't Stop Rock
and Roll by Twisted Sister, which is a title track
off of their second album released back in nineteen eighty three.
And I'll always remember playing this song jamming this song

(09:06):
with my high school band. The name of the band
was called deaf Con, and I think at one time
I called it deaf Con five or deaf Con one
or whatever, but I just remember as deaf Con. And
you had Dirty Jim on vocals, metal, Mike Heston on
rhythm guitar, Rich DeCarlo on bass, Craig Bozani on drums,
and of course myself on rhythm and lead guitar. And man,

(09:28):
we had just such an awesome time jamming out on
just a ton of cover songs and this was one
of them, and this one sounded great. I loved playing
this song, and Dirty Jim sounded great on vocals. So,
if you guys out there, if you want to hear
a song that you've never heard on the radio, or

back in nineteen ninety. Seven lead vocalist Is Ralph sheeper's
and the bass and background vocals Is Matt Sinner and
this is the first album that will be featuring a

(20:24):
new Smoking hot Guitarist Talia Bella. Zeca she's only twenty
five years. Old she wasn't even born When Primal fear was.
Formed not only is she's smoking hot as a technical
wizard on the, guitar but WELL i Sent Dirty jim

(20:46):
a picture of her and he texted back one, word damn,
yes because she is an attractive young woman Of Cuban italian.
Descent and her story is that she was taking guitar
lessons when she was really. Young she was only like
eight years, old and at that time she told her

(21:08):
teacher she wanted to learn something that was, heavier and
so the teacher gave her A Primal FEAR. Cd now
that was seventeen years, ago so she became a huge
fan of the. Band fast forward to twenty twenty five
and now she's the brand new league guitar player For Primal.

(21:28):
Fear talk about dreams coming. True, anyway here we, go
continuing with the. Show AS i mentioned at the top

Me this is ninety nine point ONE FM, klbp where
Every monday night at nine pm you could hear hard
and heavy rock and metal deep, cuts just like you've

(25:20):
been hearing. Tonight and that was a song Called hollywood
by the Band. Junkyard and, sadly as we, Stated David
roach did pass away from, cancer and ALL i can
say is that cancer. Sucks my own father passed away
of cancer back On march, eighteenth twenty twenty, one and,
yeah it. Was it was the worst day of my

(25:42):
life to just watch him take his last breath and
die in front of. Me but at least he got
his last wish to die at home and not in a.
Hospital so rest in peace To David roach From. Junkyard
the next person who died in the world Of medal
Was Brent, hines the former guitarist and founding member Of.

(26:03):
Mastadon he died On august, twentieth twenty twenty, five in
a motorcycle crash when someone who was driving an suv
they failed to yield at an intersection and they crashed
right into his motorcycle and killed him, instantly where he
was pronounced dead at the. Scene Brent hines was only
fifty one years. Old So i'm going to play a
track THAT i actually was introduced to the Band macedon

(26:27):
from this video THAT i saw ON. Mtv and the
very first song THAT i ever heard From macedon from
the video ON mtv was this song Called. Oblivion and
this is GEN x Rock Hidden.

Speaker 15 (31:53):
So so.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
S my name IS Dj Hollywood and you're listening TO

(32:30):
klbp From Long, Beach. California and that was a song
Called oblivion By, masdon taken from their fourth Album crack The,
sky which was released back in two thousand and. Nine,
now WHEN i heard that song and watched the, VIDEO
i was blown away by how different this band was to.

(32:52):
Me it was like alternative progressive modern rock. METAL i
don't know WHAT i was listening. To it was so
hard to categorize, that AND i think that's WHY i loved.
It it was just so different AND i went out
right AWAY i bought the. Album So macedon has been

(33:15):
one of those bands That i've followed for a number
of years. NOW i don't necessarily like everything that they put,
out BUT i definitely do like a lot of the
songs That Bran, daylor who is the drummer From. Macedon
he is just this amazing. SINGER i love When Bran dayalor.
Sings so as far As Brent, hines you know he

(33:39):
had recently Left. Masdon it wasn't necessarily a mutual parting of,
ways so it's kind of sad how it ended a
few months ago that, way and then here we are
Now Brent hines has passed. Away so rest in peace
To Brent. Hines and the last person to be honored

(34:02):
for my In memoriam section Is Larry, gilstrom who was
the guitarist For canadian melodic metal Band Kick acts and,
who Like David, roach he also died of cancer On august,
fourth twenty twenty. Five now back in nineteen eighty, FOUR
i was sixteen years old and in high school and

(34:25):
this one album came out THAT i JUST i. LOVED
i saw the video ON. Mtv it was from an
album Called. Vices and the song That i'll be playing
to Honor Larry gilstrom is track Heavy Metal. Shuffle and
you're listening to GEN X Rock Hidden treasures From Long, Beach.

Treasures my name Is. Hollywood i'm broadcasting here From Long, Beach.
California and that was a song called Heavy Metal shuffle
by the Band Kick, acts taking off of their debut

(38:10):
Album vices from nineteen eighty, four and in a statement
released by the band Kick as they stated this, Quote
larry maintained a positive and upbeat attitude as he quietly
fought a courageous battle with, cancer all while performing live
shows With kickaks and twenty twenty Four. Crazy this guy
was still performing while he had. Cancer larry and the

(38:31):
band were working on a new Kick axe album until
the very. End Larry gilstrom was seventy years. Old, so you,
know with all these individuals who have passed away, RECENTLY i,
MEAN i think the, solace the only solace that all
of us fans, have is that we still have all
the music that these individuals have given to the. World so,

(38:53):
really at any time that we, want we, can essentially
we can bring them back to, life so to, speak
by cranking and enjoying their, music just like our next,
person the one and, only the Legendary Ozzy. Osbourne so
right now it's time for The Ozzie forever segment of the.

Speaker 16 (39:16):
Show breaking news from the world of, entertainment we have
received word that music Legend Ozzy osbourne has. Died, osbourne

(39:38):
as you, know pioneered heavy metal music With Black sabbath
before going on to have huge success in his own.
Right he was known for hits Including Iron, Man Paranoid,
Warpigs Crazy train Of, course And bark at The, moon
both with the band and as a solo. Star his
death comes just weeks after reuniting with His Black sabbath

(39:59):
bandmates and performing a massive farewell concert for fans in
his hometown Of, Birmingham. England he had been diagnosed With
parkinson's disease in twenty, nineteen and in a statement his
family said that he was surrounded by love when he.
Passed Ozzy osbourne was seventy six years.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
Old so this is WHERE i delve Into Ozzie's sabbath,
catalog his own solo, albums as well as guest appearances
with other bands and artists in order to find deep
cuts and hidden treasures THAT i totally dig and hopefully
you will as. Well so for, today on The Ozzie
forever segment of the, show we'll be playing a song

(40:40):
Called Jack's. Land and this is not from An ozzie

(45:57):
nineteen ninety and hearing this, Track, ozzie he just had
this amazing gift to create a vocal melody that was
creepy to match the feeling of the. Song and this
song That bill put, together it's kind of an atmospheric.
