since I'll be visiting family and friends in Connecticut this week,
I have a special radio show called the nineteen eighty
(02:17):
five Naugatuck, Connecticut KEG Party. And what I'm gonna do
here is I'm gonna attempt to recreate a typical weekend
party night at one of our hangouts. We had so
many around town. But we're gonna be going to a
place called Linden Park next to the Naugatuck River, and
we loved going there. I mean, it was a cool spot.
(02:38):
There was lots of parking, there was a lot of
trees alongside the river bank, so it definitely was a
cool place to party in the summertime. The disadvantage to
Linden Park was there was only one entrance in and
out with your car, so if the cops showed up,
you had to leave your car in the parking lot,
run the opposite way down along the river and wait
(03:00):
for the cops to leave. All right, scavengers, I'm gonna
create some old school radio theater for you by jumping
in my time machine. But it's not a Dolorean. This
is gonna be one for Joe Pace. Joe Pace is
gonna love this car. My flux capassitors inside of a
nineteen sixty nine Pontiac Gto the Goat with the endured
(03:23):
nose and hidden headlights and the most powerful production Pontiac
Gto equipped with the ram Air four four hundred V
eight engine with three hundred and seventy horsepower and four
hundred and forty five foot pounds of torque. Now, this
time machine will definitely kick the ass of any Dolorean
out there. So let's go back in time and take
(03:44):
a drive down to Naugatuck, Connecticut to experience one of
my small town party spots at Linden Park down by
the river in nineteen eighty five. Whoa wow, that was
(04:13):
totally rad What a rush I mean, Oh, look at this.
I can't believe I'm back here in nineteen eighty five,
forty years ago. Okay, let's just jump right back into
the car and get right down to Linden Park. Oh
my god, this is so freaky. What a trip to
I'm actually putting a cassette into the tape deck in
(04:34):
my car. I know exactly what I'm gonna play. Okay,
(05:09):
I got my boombox and a bunch of cassette tapes
in my leather jacket. All right, let's go. Now, everybody
at the party won't know that I'm a time traveler
from the year twenty twenty five, so I have to
be careful with when I say and how I act.
Oh my god, there's a lot of cars here media,
so I'm gonna do my best to lay low and
just play the tunes on my boombox, because that's what everybody.
Speaker 6 (05:29):

You're listening to DJ Hollywood on ninet nine point one
FM KLBP. This is the time Machine episode, the nineteen
eighty five Nagata, Connecticut KEG Party episode. I just traveled
back in time forty years in a nineteen sixty nine
Pontiac gto forget the Glorian This was even more awesomer.
(51:49):
And we just finished the entire cassette of Master Reality
by Black Sabbath from nineteen seventy one. What an amazing
album that is. It's it's it's too short for me.
It's only like thirty four minutes or something like that.
But man, some great songs on there. And who would
have thought that forty years into the future back from
(52:12):
nineteen eighty five to twenty twenty five, that Ozzy would
be dead and there'd be millions of people around the
world just memorializing him and mourning his death. I mean,
he truly was a legend. He not only was he
legendary in Sabbath, he became a legend in his own
right in a solo and on reality TV even being
(52:34):
entertained by presidents. Just insane that the life that he led.
And I'm so happy that we lived in a time
where we're able to celebrate Ozzy and no, come on, okay,
you see hear what's happening? Okay, whoever's out in the
parking lot of Linden parking lot of Linden Park here,
(52:58):
they're gonna they're attracting attention. The cops are going to
be down here soon. Oh man, the motorcycles and the cars,
you know. Uh man, let's do this. I'm gonna put
in one more cassette. Let me go and hopefully I
can get through this cassette before the cops come.
