Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now dammage Infringemen.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome everybody to the Can Make Infringement Podcast. I am
Brad Winchester and with me as always as my tag
team partner Tyler McDowell, Blank and Tyler. At Sunday, the
NBA Finals are headed to the most magical words in sports,
Game seven.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
How are we doing the strip? We're doing well. Did
you see KD just got traded?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
No, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
We did not discuss this in the precial meeting because
I was hoping we would have an organic Oh no,
where's it going right now? It's not Detroit. He has
He has been traded from the Phoenix Suns. I swear
to God. If you say Miami a team, you may
have heard of the Houston Rockets. Okay, yeah yeah, Long
speculated that could be a destination. I would argue that
(00:55):
Houston needs him the most out of any team in
the association. They need a closer, they need to go
to score. Katie certainly checks those boxes. So the Suns
in return are getting Jalen Green, former top five pick.
They're getting long time heel in the NBA, Dylan Brooks,
Oh my gosh, they're getting the number ten pick in
(01:16):
Wednesday's draft, and I believe five second round picks. Maybe
they'll include that in the package for something or somebody else.
I honestly am fascinated to see what becomes of Jalen Green.
Super talented dude. He's in all these Wingstop commercials. I
just don't know that he's the best fit with Devin Booker.
So I suspect. Granted, I haven't read anything or heard
(01:38):
anything since you and I met for the production meeting, Brad,
but I just get the sense that maybe Jalen Green
is not actually going to suit up for Phoenix. I
wonder if he gets moved at some point this week. Wow,
it's official. Wow, Kevin Durant Phoenix experience over. It was
good until it wasn't Was it ever? Good?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Great? Great? Nick Elvis, Wait not it wasn't Nick all this.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
National treasure, Nicholas.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
No, now it's gone. It left me.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
It was great content for audio listening.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
It left me. It left me. I had I had
a thing. It's gone.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Kad got moved, though. Man, that's a big deal around
around these parts. Is the state we call home here
in Arizona.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
He is one of my first memories of seeing the
footprint because I had never been there. We spent ungodly
amounts of money to park and then walked to the
footprint and there it was his giant.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Poster, giant like huge, huge kd up on the wall
right outside of you.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
In a different time, that was our first dynamite.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
That was my first time in February.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Life was different back then on the basketball front, on
the on the just life front, and Brad, can I
just say, and I'm pretty sure this is documented production
team if you could work on researching this for us.
I I was never a huge believer that this was
gonna work. Brad. You know my gimmick. Ten percent of
the time I have to puff my chest out and
say I was right. Yeah, this is a case where
(03:09):
the beat Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker experience building
your team around a big three, that's just a relic.
That's how dated. That's not how teams win anymore. So
I am not shocked it ended this way, but it
makes me sad that the Phoenix Suns didn't even sniff
anywhere near a championship after acquiring Kevin Durant. He was
(03:29):
actually pretty awesome. While he was here production wise, but
it's not surprising to me that this formula didn't lead
to the outcome that matt Ishbieh and company wanted.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, it's it's unfortunate and it sucks for the state
of Arizona. To be honest, interest in the Suns is
always good for the state. It just is like our
our sports teams we've had. We've had a lot of
sports teams, and some of them have left.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Had I noticed you said that past tense.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Well, I live in Tucson. So we got we got
our our Cactus.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
League games stopped entirely. Our our our semi pro baseball
teams they left, got a new one.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
They left.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
The Coyotes they're gone. We still have the road Runners.
I don't know how long that's gonna last. I don't
know how long that leases. So as soon as that happens,
they're probably gonna move in somewhere else. That's my guess.
I'm not sure how they're doing fiscally. Speaking of speaking
of uh hockey, uh, the Florida Panthers are your Stanley
Cup champions back to back, an elite group of back
(04:32):
to backers. I think about how it's probably because do
you have any idea where the Panthers play.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
They don't play in the Heats Arena.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
No, they they they don't play in Miami. They're outside
of Miami. No, they're in like the middle of nowhere,
sawgrass like they're in the swamp.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
They're in the swamp like.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
They're when they're like, yeah, they're playing the Cup in
the swamp.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's the swamp. Really, it's legit the swamp there.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
There's there's a huge mall and there's like some some
areas over there, but it's it's in a really weird spot.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
It's a hockey arena those specifically it was. It was
built for them.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Uh yeah, I believe so. But it's I it might
be one of those universal places. I don't know. I
don't know what else would go on there.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Sure, it's not like the Little Caesars PiZZ Arena, to
be clear, where you're you're double dipping.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Well, and that was the issue with the Coyotes, is uh,
where are they going to play? Right? Because they were
playing for the last year or two they were playing
at Arizona State University's Mullet Arena, ironically, which is where
TNA against the Odds was that in the recent TNA tapings.
We'll briefly talk about CNA later. Yeah, venue wise, I
know that was an issue for the Coyotes when the
(05:45):
lease ended here at in the Westgate area. You know
here in the valley, Well, where in the heck is
this team gonna play? They're going to stay. It was
at ASU. But then Tempe voters struck down a potential
new hockey arena in the city, which was pretty shocking
for those in favor of it. It was just it
was just a comedy of airs. Man, we don't have
a place for this team to play, and it seems like.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
They were asking way too much money from the city.
It was was gonna happen. They needed to put more
money into it.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
It was not good.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
But that venue was.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Incredible, like that what they had planned out, it looked,
it looked amazing. Where people were shot, people were shot. Tempe,
a liberal city much like to its on, a college town,
liberal city. Folks were shocked that. Overwhelmingly Tempe voters said.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, it was an it was an insane amount of
money to put into it, where the owners, like, I
can't believe the city rejected it. They made it too
difficult to blah blah blah, and it's like you should
have put more money into it, like you're you're asking.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Too much of the city.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
It's sort of like the the Marlins Stadium exhaled that
that they probably were looking at it more like that.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
And this is actually talking value.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
We're talking about millionaires and billionaires, and yeah, lib for
a lot of these cases, I know they I believe
a bill is going through the Senate right now to
get upgrades for Chase Field, where the Diamondbacks play. I
think voters across the state are film like, yo, y'all
got deep pockets, you pay for these things rather than
it's complicated. But still said the Coyotes left. Granted, I
(07:12):
haven't been at Coyotes game since I was eight years old. However,
I enjoy having sports franchises here and especially if they're successful,
which to your point, we're such a tortured fan base
that I would love to see a championship one of
these years. The Phoenix Merkury. Man, it just goes back
to the Phoenix Mercury. They're having a great regular season
with the most successful franchise in our state. We need
(07:36):
to put some respect continuously on the Mercury's name because
they are and continue to be the exemplary franchise in
many ways for the entire state of Arizona. Definitely not
the Suns.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
It's definitely not the Suns. Wow, Okay, I'm glad you
said it. I was feeling it. They are a representative team.
When I think about the song and how they're doing,
I think about.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
The way the books look. Oh man, that's not.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
That book one, the book one. Can I tell you?
I was actually thinking about getting a new pair of
book ones. I'm not just saying that. It was. Really
it's in my cart right now. Foot lock.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Oh lord, I mean they look at God's on his truth.
I think they look like great wearable not basketball shoes.
I think they look like wonderful not basketball shoes.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
I would wear these pair for fashion purposes only.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah, that's I would do that too. Just when people
are like, yeah, I look at tho basketball shoes. Where
where'd they go? Where did you hide them?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Somewhere? There are some atrocious ones. There is a conversation.
Maybe there's an episode to be had here of just
unpacking not only the last three years of the Suns,
but the rollout of the Book one and all this
is happening, this Book one, the highs and lows of
this rollout, while Devin Booker is at a fascinating place
in his career. Brad, you remember, I remember we both
had the merchandise that twenty twenty one finals run for
(08:56):
the Suns, the Valley Oop, all the merchants. I see
it at Goodwill's, every good one, the Greater Phoenix area.
I'm so serious about this.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Yeah, I believe.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Also, Devin Booker was on this road to ascension and
the past two years have have been really a fallback
to Earth for him. So I wonder. I wonder what
he's gonna look like next year. I wonder about dare
I say the Book two's and if there'll be more
of a consistent hit with audiences, Because you and I
have talked about it on air. Some of the Book
(09:26):
one designs have been atrocious. Others I really enjoy. I
own a couple pairs, but there have been some I know.
They're on sale right now at Dick Board and Goods
for like forty eight dollars. They're available in every size.
The Book one flag staff joints, the dark Green, the
Book one sedonas that are not good.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, those are the ones I think of. Those are
the ones I take of.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, it's just it's just questions have to be answered.
Over the next year.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
We shall see, well, Tyler, I know we're going to
be answering some questions about w WE, about a e
W about a movie.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
You gotta you gotta gi at the movies. Today.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I was surprised by that we got a gutbuster. I
have no idea what this is, so I can't I
I can't. I can't wait to hear about it. I
haven't even had time to look. But first we got
to talk about Freya. It's time for someday when you
have kids, play.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
The music, and now it's time for Sunday someday when
you have kids. That's okay.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Last week was Freya's eighth birthday and yesterday was her
eighth birthday party.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
So last year we kept it, we kept it really
low key.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
It was it was Freya, it was her friend, and
we met up up in Scottsdale and and spent three
four days whatever it was at the Great Wolf Lodge.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
It was.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
It was one billion degrees outside. I can't believe it
was a year ago that was a year ago.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
It was a year ago. Yeah, and I had a
blast going on the water slides and stuff. Bray did not.
She just wanted to go in the waypool and kind
of go buy the little kid stuff.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
She's in that in between space where she's like, I'm
a little kid, but I'm not a little kid.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
She's not, so so it was difficult.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
For her to want to get on a raft or
anything like that. And then she finally got on when
she's like, just do it, like nine more times, but
it was the spinny one. I just still sick thinking
about it. This year, she wanted a Minecraft party. She
wanted a Minecraft themed birthday party. I'm sure it was
spurred on by the movie because we had just seen
the movie. When Jess was like, Hey, what kind of
(11:45):
movie or what kind of party you want to have
this year? Minecraft, It's like, all right, Well, a little
recency bias there, but okay. So Jess rented out a
truck that plays video games. There's like five or six
screens inside of this truck and there was like ten
kids in there and a couple of parents playing video
games on these walls of monitors.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
It was really really cool, and.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
She decorated this house now, Tyler, someday when you have kids,
your partner's going to decide to have a birthday party
at your house.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
What I need you to know.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Is that while it sounds cheaper, while it sounds more
convenient because it's at home, none of those things are true.
None of those words are true. It is a nightmare
of getting things done.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Now.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
If you're on top of it and your house is
set in, your backyard is great. You've never touched it
and you don't need to because it's like a wonderful,
magical land of perfection unlike mine, then you're good. But
if it's not, my friend, you are going to have
a sweaty, sunburned week filled with yard work, hoisting things
(13:01):
into the sky that you have no busy business, poisting,
digging out, digging out tree roots, just doing absurd stuff
and then walking in and traping mud all over the
floor because that's what's happened, and.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Then getting looks like why would you do this? But man,
did it come together?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Shout out to Jess because she decorated this house so
well and so thoughtfully, and Freya had a great time,
the kids had a blast. There was the Minecraft movie
on the TV.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
We got little Caesars over here. We got drinks for
the kids, we got drinks for the adults.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I sucked down like five sixty four ounce waters before
the day started because I was outside pouring concrete, which
is the thing I did.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Absolute madness. But I'll send you the video later of
her opening some presents.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
The reactions, the the excitement, the energy of all the
kids was so awesome.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
It was so much fun.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Kids are kids, man, and they just had such a
great time hanging out, playing with each other, being goofy and.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Freya had a great day.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And you always want your kid to have a great
day on their birthday, so to watch her have this
really special day, even though it was a ton of work.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
The house is really clean. The house is really clean.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
The backyard is pretty well organized and set for the
summer now. So well had to get it all done
at once, But I'm glad it happened. You'll find out,
I know you'll find out someday when you have kids.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
So beautiful, Happy belated birthday, Freya Winchester, eight years old.
We knew this day would come, Brad, but my goodness,
what a special young lady.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
You and just had I have a short story that
happened before this. So on her birthday, which was on Friday,
I was out in the back and I was digging
the post holes for the concrete were and Freya came
out to talk to me.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
And she was like, what are you doing. It's like, okay,
I'm just showing around. She's just out to hang out
with dad.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
And I looked at my phone and I saw I
had a text from her friend Dax from her dad,
his dad, and he was like, hey, can I call
you or you by Freya? Dax wants to say happy birthday.
And I was like, oh, shoot, this is like two
hours ago, and his bedtimes around when I got the text.
Prayse is around ten hours after that. So I got
(15:32):
the text as a crap.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
I missed this. I'm sorry. I've been outside working and
he was like okay.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
So I looked at Frey and I said, hey, I
just texted Harper's Harper's mom the address, and then I said,
I am sorry I missed the text from Dax. I
don't he was going to call you and say happy birthday,
but it was a while ago. So then the phone
rang and it was Dax's dad. So I was like,
oh cool, just hey, you want me to just hand
(16:01):
it to her?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Yeah, go ahead, And I was handed her to the phone.
Frey did not know it was Dax Fry. I thought
it was Harper because I just talked about Harper.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Oh, so she's talking to him about dance class and
about all this stuff. I didn't I didn't hear a
word of this because that kid answered the phone and then.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Just walked the heck off. She walked back into the house,
She's like.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Hello, hey, and just left, and I'm like outside in
the dark, looking around, going like, I don't have a phone.
How am I going to listen to this podcast? That
was in the middle of it. It was just getting good here.
So uh. She came back out and she looked pretty upset.
And she came back inside and I was like, what's
going on. Jess was like, is she's really upset? She
thought it was Harper. She didn't know was Dax, unbeknownst
(16:49):
to her. On the other end of this line, Dax
called to play on his little guitar, just bang on
it and sing Happy Birthday.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Basically.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
While he started playing it, one of the street broke
and he was like he got a cut from it.
He was bleeding, and he was like looking at his dad, going.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
What did I you like?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
But he just powered through and like he was super
upset after he hung up upset. Bray, I hung up upset.
He was upset because he's like, I ruined it my
hands bleeding, the string broke, and oh it's awful, Bray.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
It was like I thought it was a different person.
I feel so stupid, like amazing.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
And then of course they saw each other yesterday and
it was all hugs and all yeah, yeah it was.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
It was great.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
But it was really really really funny, like he's she
had no idea that he was going through it.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
On the other end, she was going through it over here.
I just I love that so much. Yeah, and it's
it's what what a what a time?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Man? What a what a what a beautiful, beautiful weekend,
beautiful segment as always, Brad. All right, Brad, it's time.
Two words, ten letters. Huh uh, steph watch stuff. She
is who we thought she was not only an incredible wrestler,
(18:05):
but Brad Winchester Stephanie Bacaier seems like a wonderful person.
I say this because we are back after taking a
one week hiatus with Steph Watch. There wasn't a ton
to discuss last week. What a difference the next seven
days have made. Not only did Stephanie baugh Kier wrestle
on Raw, another standout performance, this time in a fatal
four way. Unfortunately she lost. Watch you talk about the
(18:28):
winner here in just a moment. Osca is the center
of my question. But another standout performance in the match
against Oscar, Ivy Nile and Raquel Rodriguez. But what's not
worthy hear about this week, Steph Watch, Brad is Stephanie
Bakier won the internet once again. She made two separate
appearances on my YouTube feed this week. Number one, she
(18:48):
was a guest on the Brie and Niki Bella show.
You call that Nikki Bella mispronounced Stephanie ba Kier's last name.
This was now two weeks two mondays ago at the
Stop the Raw Stop and Fie. It's probably the most
noteworthy Stephanie back care news of that particular week, actually,
which is maybe why we didn't have this segment on
(19:11):
the last GI. But this week, Nicky Ambribella welcome Stephanie
Bakker to their show. I highly recommend you check it
out on YouTube. Really great thirty minute conversation with La
Primira about not only about the gaff on Nicki Bello's part,
but about Stephanie back Ker's love of pro wrestling, becoming
the first South American WWE superstar and much more. And then, Brad,
(19:35):
I'll have you know, on Friday, I get a notification
on YouTube Stephanie Baker is the special guest on Gimus's
Celtic Warrior workout series and that's where you really got
to see more of her personality. I just I've watched
it several times now for research purposes, and again she
(19:55):
seems like an absolute joy, funny, charismatic. She taught Seamus
some Spanish as well as how to salsa. It just
made me so happy. The fact that people are really
gravitating toward her and love stepibak care as much as
as I clearly do here. It made me so good.
It made me so happy, so good to see her
(20:17):
thriving and another huge week for hopefully our future women's champion.
But in the meantime, again I want to speak about
the winner of that aforementioned fatal match. Brad. After a
thirteen month absence. Osca returned to WWE last week. She
advanced in the Night of Champions tournament, and as mentioned
on commentary during her match, the landscape of the women's
(20:40):
division has shifted since we last saw the Empress of Tomorrow.
Here's my question, what did you think of her first
match back? And how do you think she slots into
a loaded women's division on Raw now featuring the aforementioned
Stephanie Baker, Roxane Perez and several other incredible superstars.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I kind of feel like they're gonna let her lean
more into this because she started doing the kinda lean
before she got hurt. I think they're gonna let her
keep doing that. To me, it's it almost feels sort
of transitioned out.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Ask for her where they'll let her do that character
that she did in Japan.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Maybe that's her way to get out and go back
to Japan or do it in another company under that
other name, but keep that kind of gimmick going.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
I'm not saying that I think she should leave.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
I just feel like, where does she fit and where
does she go now? And it's probably a good time
to have her in Live. Just got hurt, such it's
gonna be out for a long time, feel so bad
for her.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
On a drop toe hold right against.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Yeah, and Kyrie feels really bad about it because somebody
got hurt in a match with her and she just
beats herself up about that.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
And Kyrie Sane is back, by the way, but all
I mean, the division is just stacked, man, please continue.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Kyrie Saane is back, and they continue to not really
know how to use her super well. They just sort
of slought her into be a piece and it's like, man,
it's it's Kyrie man. So I don't know where she
goes from here, Hopefully nothing dumb, hopefully something meaningful. What
I do know before I say, like what I thought
about her coming back is that there were some spots
(22:32):
in this match that were awesome. There were some hoss
parts of this match that were like, oh, this is
gonna be fun. She hits hard, she worked strong style
for so long that she's probably they're probably gonna let
him go, like yeah, just go do that. So I
have a feeling that we're going to be getting some really, really,
really fun stuff out of all these wrestlers that learn
how to wrestle, not how to be wrestlers, but learn
(22:54):
how to wrestle in places that work a little bit stiffer,
versus learning how to work a style of ww wrestling
and presenting your character and doing those kinds of things
which WWTS does excellently. I think the wrestling part of
it is going to be incredible now that she's back.
I think she slots in and in that mix of
I'm always going to be in contention for a title.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
I think it.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Would be great to see her go for like the
US or the Intercontinental titles, because we haven't seen her
ever do that. She I don't think was there when
they existed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't know.
You're right, Yeah, yeah, so And and currently we have
two other women of her of Oscar's era in Bailey
and Becky Lynch fighting for the Women's Intercontinental CHYAM, which
(23:41):
Becky Lynch holds right now. But it's just a different
it's a completely different division than yeah, what she was
last year, a year ago. It's it's pretty surreal.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
As far as her coming back, I thought it was
dumb that they teased it, and I thought it was
dumb that she was just on the tournament bracket.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Surprise US. Have it be a to be.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Announced, give her that pop, like people will go nuts
if she returns like that. Yeah, they knew she was
coming back, but it's like, are people really gonna go like,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
It just felt like.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
I don't know whose decision it was. It didn't feel great.
It felt kind of like, oh, Oscar's coming back, that's
really cool. But having her come back as a surprise
feels like a much bigger deal and she immediately becomes
more threatening than just having her in that match right
on that card. Yeah, and obviously we know she wasn't
just in that match, but yeah, yeah, but I think
(24:34):
it's like, all right, if we're gonna do that, like
let her show up and like really have give the
crowd that moment, give her that moment. And they took
it away for nothing really, and that if you're trying
to create moments, that's a moment and you really farted
that one out.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
I'm glad she's back. I thought she looked really good.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
She didn't look like she was like, oh man, this
is gonna be slow Osca or an Osca that is
not going to be able to do this.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
That I was sill great.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I'm eager to see what's next for her. And this
was part of my thought during Steph watch, was Okay,
what is next for Steph now that Okay, she's made
her debut, there's all this euphoria around her. She had
the money in the bank match, she didn't win, but
she was prominently featured. Same deal in this women's four way.
I think based off those those face offs that we
got with Osca and Stephanie Baker, the potential chemistry that
(25:29):
the magnetism, if you will, between those two, I think
that could be a potential rivalry. Whether Osca gets gold
here in the next few weeks or does it. I
think those two could really make some magic together and
that rivalry could be very beneficial. Agreed for both women.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Agreed, and you know we love them both with all
the women that have been involved in all of these
angles right now, like that that rosters it's good. It's
like the cheat code of ty forree. And I say that,
as I wrote down in my notes, like aw's got
an incredibly loaded women's roster right now.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Too, is back on a regularly scheduled TV and we
like this.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Yeah, so it's it's there's just like women's wrestling is
just kind of on top of the world right now.
And I just wish they were presented more like they
were on top of the world. Uh, but it's kind
of hard to do that, Nick More, John Cena, So
Tyler speaking of being on top, Gunther is on top
for now, but he he is next now my question
(26:35):
might be a little bit of a left field, uh question.
So Gunther is going to be fighting Goldberg?
Speaker 3 (26:42):
Live is hurt?
Speaker 2 (26:44):
The women crushed it on Monday and John Cena crushed
CM punk on the mic. That was fun. That was
really fun. That segment the Sina pipe bomb was a
lot of fun. However, the biggest fight this this week
happened in Iran. Tyler, how do you think the US
bombing impacts the Saudi show or how do you think
(27:08):
it impacts professional wrestling in general?
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
I mean Iran or Iran? I want to say Iran
because Iran feels disrespectful.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Sure, sure, yeah, I obviously believe that WWE and ri
odd Season and TKO and everyone involved with Knight of
Champions will do whatever it takes to make sure this
show happens. It man, this is where you know, obviously,
pro wrestling in many ways is a world of fantasy
and make believe. But this is, you know, this is
(27:40):
one of those weekends where the real world and its
complexities really it's impossible to talk about wrestling without including
that human, real element. Man, I would honestly be shocked
if it affected Knight of Champions in any way in
terms of moving that date or moving the location or
anything like that. I just think they have so much
(28:01):
money invested at both parties, but WWB and TK have
so much money invested in the partnership with Saudi Arabia
that I would be shocked if anything changes with that date,
that show happening this weekend. However, if moving that date,
changing that venue, whatever the case may be, will will
be safer for the talent and the fans involved, obviously,
(28:23):
And you know, I wasn't planning to watch the show anyway.
We'll talk about other wrestling options that we get in
probably the what do we miss segment later on in
this episode, But if they have to move that a
week back or whatever the case is, to me, that
is obviously much more important than having this show if
there are potential risks, and that's you know, that's that's
(28:46):
not a groundbreaking statement by me. Obviously, I know WWE
and everyone obviously wants their fans and their performers to
be safe. But Brad, it's just it's pretty jarring again
in the world of largely based on fantasy and mention
of belief that this, this huge global situation has happened
and could potentially have impacts on WWE's product heading in
(29:10):
to the weekend. I don't think anything is going to
change by any means, but it's it's still something on processing.
How about you.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Kind of the same.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
I remember there's something that happened, not the last time
they had Night of Champions or Crown Jewel or whatever
other show they had out there sands of time, as
Alex would say, I'm not sure when it was, but
I remember we had a similar conversation where it's like
the state of the world, the thing that happened, do
(29:41):
you think this impacts what's what's going on? And it
might have been what's happening with Israel and Palestine, I
can't remember, but it was what is what is the
cultural or the economic impact of these things?
Speaker 3 (29:57):
And it's it.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Sucks to try to like go, well, yeah, we're we
basically we had an offensive, but you can call it
whatever you want. It's it's an act of war. Now
we're in it, and things are gonna change, and a
lot of people are like, oh.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
W W shouldn't go ww we should go show them
that you're not afraid.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
All of these different things are happening, these layers of
people talking about how w W should run their business online,
and I thought it was a relevant question for us
to try to address, even though we're neither of us
are equipped to really tackle it in a you know,
I don't want to say thoughtful way, because I don't
think we're not being thoughtful about it, but.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
It's informed, I guess.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
I think that they're going to have to be more
measured with where they go, and they're going to have
to get assurances from the essentially the monarchy about security
and all of those things over there. And it's not
like Saudi Arabia and Iran are high fiving each other.
(31:02):
They got their own conflicts. But there's also terrorism and
reactionary tactics and all kinds of other things that you
can't predict, because the whole point of terrorist cells is
that you don't know who's in them. So yeah, it
kind of scares me a little bit about talent safety
and all of those things where it's like, it's not
(31:26):
the same as like somebody catching up to you in
the hotel and yelling at you or trying to fight
you or whatever. This is a different thing. So I'm
curious to see what happens. I think the show will
still go on as planned. Probably, I wonder if this
affects talent going over and you know which talent stuff.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
And speaking to that bright there was a frightful select
report that came out not too long before we started
recording here, so credit to Sean Ross Sapping company. It
says five fifole reached out to w REPS in an
official capacity to ask if anything will have change given
news that President Trump coming delivered about those air strikes
and they being frightful. I have not heard back from
(32:05):
WWE yet. However, one higher up, it's noted on background,
said the situation was being monitored. Accordingly. It goes on
to say the WWE talent are currently set to travel
out to your point midweek via a charter plane that
would take them to Riod. If this was just a
night of championshow, it would have been a very small flight,
as only ten wrestlers are slated to compete on the
(32:27):
show as of now. I didn't realize it was that few. However,
WWE has a three hour SmackDown plan for the city
as well, which I did not realize. And then it
goes on to say beyond that, the source said that
Saudi quote Saudi is one of the safest places in
the world quote unquote as it relates to the situation,
and another source believe that WWE would be made of
(32:49):
assurances of said safety. Finally, the side of the event
is on full build mode as of now, and fan
events in Riod are planned to be announced for this
coming week. This situation in some ways reminds me of
the college football playoff. I want to say it was
in it was in Louisiana where there was that horrible
(33:09):
situation that happened where somebody left an explosive device. And
my recollection is that college football playoff game still went
on a day or two after. So it's this. I
don't know, man, when there's a lot of money on
the line, there's money to be made, I think sometimes
that takes precedent. But again, as you and I agree,
safety has to come first, luckily the college football playoff
(33:31):
game to my recollection, that went off without any issues.
Thank the Lord, and hopefully obviously for for this week
and this coming weekend, for the fans, for the performers,
for everyone involved behind the scenes, people are safe and
are able to have a great time, you know, around
this sport that you and I hold so dear. It's scary, man,
(33:51):
It's it's a very very concerning time and scary world
we live in.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yeah, I just I just think about the fan events.
You know, kids are going to these events, kids are
going to the shows, and it's just like, how do
you Maybe you can guarantee the safety of the talent,
but can you guarantee the safety of all the people
there to see the talent? And that's the part that's like, Man,
would I want to take my family to the show?
Speaker 3 (34:13):
I'm not. I'm not sure that that would be a
thing I'm very interested in.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
So yeah, I just I just hope everything goes safely
and without any kind of interference and thinking of everybody affected. Okay, Tyler,
weird transition, but we got to we got to we
got to talk about some levity, some lighter things, and
by the title of this film. It doesn't sound light,
(34:38):
but I can't wait to hear what you've got.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
To tell me about. It's time for GI at the movies.
Cue up the music, let's go, and now it's time
for GI after move. I was scrolling Netflix over the
weekend and I came across this really interesting documentary. It's
(35:03):
been out for a few weeks, Brad. It's entitled The
Astro World Tragedy. So we're gonna pick the vibes back
up on this episode, we promised, but actually on a
really similar note, The Astra World Tragedy. So back in
twenty twenty one, hip hop artist Travis right, remember this, Yeah,
hip hop artist Travis Scott held his annual Astro World
(35:24):
festival in his home city of Houston, Texas. And this
was the first one since the pandemic. So there was
a year off and this is a massive, massive concert.
Took the year off and they were back. So there
was a lot of excitement for this festival and it
ended in tragedy. So the reason why this particular festival
(35:47):
is noteworthy and why in the title it's the Astu
World Tragedy, is because ten concert goers ended up dying
at this event, and it's so crazy, and the documentary
really focuses on the fan experience, and it actually begins
with hearing from different concertgoers about how excited they were
(36:07):
for this event and just all the kind of hysteria
that went on around the city really leading up to
this event for positive reasons, a lot of excitement and
then certainly the hysteria that followed and the dread in
the morning. Because the documentary in many cases argues that
Live Nation the folks who were in charge of this event,
(36:29):
even Travis Scott dare we say, there were a lot
of folks who were negligible about all that went into
this event in terms of crowd control. Brad. There's video
featuring the documentary of folks getting into this park because
it's at I think it's NRG Park, not too far
from where the Texans play. But the festival happened on
these grounds, and there's video from the very beginning when
(36:53):
the gates were open in effect, where you have this
just mass, this sea of concert goers, largely folks, so
let's say twenty five and under who just storm the fences.
So from the very beginning the fences were pulled down,
you have a bunch of folks we don't even know
if they have tickets to this event, who just got
into the park. Then there's law enforcement trying to work
(37:15):
on crowd control. There's not nearly enough security and law
enforcement working at this event, and that really bleeds over
into hours and hours later when Travis Scott is the
headliner for night one, you have simply more concert goers
who attended Travis Scott's performance then could safely be at capacity.
(37:37):
So it's horrible and I'm getting chills actually thinking about this.
I was just really angry and sad watching this ninety
minute documentary. You have ten concertgoers who were trampled during
this performance. A big or not really big, but an
aspect of Traviscott's concert that's well documented and why people
want to go is folks really turn up at his concert.
(37:59):
He's known for encouraging that people just get super rowdy,
and in this particular case, again because of the lack
of thought and organization and care that went into designing
the structure of this concert, folks were packed in together
from the very beginning. Folks were documented on this documentary
is saying it was hard to breathe. And then as
(38:19):
the songs went on, the crowd got rowdier and rowdier,
which of course Travis Scott is aching on because that's
what he does as a performer. People got trampled and
people got stuck beneath each other, and again ten people
attended this concert and did not make it back home.
There's been litigation, there's been lawsuits, and by the end
of the documentary you learn that Live Nation in Travis
(38:39):
Scott have not been found liable in a court for
any of this. There's not been any payments or anything
of the sort. Many families are still in litigation against
Live Nation, in some cases against Travis Scott. And it
also goes into the fallout of Travis Scott went on
Instagram and delivered a message which many found as being
pretty lackluster, and some of the fans featured in this
(39:02):
Netflix documentary speak to their relationships to Travis Scott's music
and his art is much different than it was now
last part I Want to Leave You with Brad and
I Want to Kick It to You is The documentary
also highlights that in twenty twenty four, again, this tragedy
happened in twenty twenty one. In twenty twenty four, Live
Nation and Travis Scott partnered to deliver the highest grossing
(39:24):
live concert tour in the history of the country. So
it's just wow. Okay, so this awful thing happened. I'm
not saying Live Nation and Travis Scott wanted ten people
that die, of course, but due to their negligence, particularly
Live Nation, it happened. And here we are three years later,
and their bread, their money is not affected whatsoever. In fact,
(39:45):
they went on to shatter records and gross the highest
selling tour in North American history. It made me feel icky. It,
I think in very much in many ways is related
to what we just spoke about that I'm kind of
at a loss for words. Man, I didn't feel great
by the end of this documentary, and I don't really
(40:06):
know what to make of Travis Scott, you and I.
And there's a round wrestling element, right because Travis Scott
popped up, you know, at wrestler Badia and he's been
a part of w W and you can buy his
merchandise so w W shop dot com for ungodly amounts
of money. But it just makes me think about, wow,
this guy really is one of the biggest pop artists
in the world. His music doesn't speak to me. I
(40:27):
don't see it. But it's on question that even with
this tragedy, as completely awful and sad as it was,
it has not affected his bottom line, and one could
argue he's as big as ever, including being featured in
one of the most prominent storylines.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
In w Yeah. When you said what to do, I wondered,
this is pretty dark.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
I guess it's not because it's it's about the other concerts,
but I was wondering, if do you think they announced
the record gate at the concert?
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Exactly right?
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yeah, tie it back to w W.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
That's it's just gross, man, It's yeah, I don't know.
I don't know what to do with that. I recommend
this on Netflix, but be prepared to feel something when
you're watching.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Well, I got a tab open. I'm gonna check it
out later. I'm sure. I'm sure I will.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
There's there's a there's a couple of those things where
it's like this one I'm really interested in because there's
the uh I can't remember what it was called, but
there was the amusement park in the seventies eighties in
New Jersey, and I can't remember what the name of
it is. There's a documentary about it on HBO that
is ur Max. Excuse me, that is totally worthwhile. I
(41:44):
don't remember what it's called, but it's like Murder Park.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Or something like that. It's not about people dying because
of murder.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
It's just it was so poorly constructed that people were
like launching off of the sides. They didn't have engineers
make this, They just have guys that were like, this
would be fun and then just made it, you know
I'm talking about Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Well no, I know, I don't know what you're talking about.
But a lot of the themes of what you're saying
here are seen in.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Astra World, because that's it's sound very similar, Like, yeah,
a lot.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Of the frustration was. There's footage. I mean, it goes
kind of in chronological order. There are certain parts of
the performance that are documented where there's one particular scene
where Travis Scott can see a fan being kind of
carted out, you know, because they're just in a terrible
position of health. And then there's other moments where fans
(42:28):
tried to verbalize to whether it be Scott or those
working at the concert, hey this is not okay. People
are passing out. This is not normal, and it even
shows communication and text evidence of folks being aware of
what's going on. But again, where we're delivering this concert,
people paid money to be here. We're just going to
(42:49):
continue rather than recognizing the severity of even if one
person is dying. Yeah, that's grounds, that's ground similar to
our just about other champions. That's grounds to cancel the show.
People's health, even one is potentially at risk. Mind you,
ten people and that is to include people who were
injured and need to go to the hospital. Ten people
(43:11):
perished at this concert, man, and I just it's amazing
how life just kind of continues to go on, but
not for not for ten people. So it's pretty gross.
But the documentary is really well done, and I'd be
curious to hear what our audience thought or that they're
going to check it out. We'll think of this. Let
us know obviously here on YouTube in the comment section.
(43:33):
If you're listening to us, reach out to us. Let
us know on our socials at gipod nineteen.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Okay, Tyler, we got to get into aw let's get
the vibes back up. I can feel, I can feel,
I can feel the energy right now has slipped from like, oh,
this is gonna be fun too. We got conflicts, we
got death at concerts. Let's get into aw where we
just simply have Arena Mexico and collision.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Yeah, that reasons to be Arena Mexico. Well, let let
me ask you first, what did you what did you
think about that show? The aesthetics of it, given your
tech background. I thought it was I thought it was awesome,
really well done. I thought I thought it was a
really smart thing to be like, oh, hang Man, you
know Spanish, you should go out there and start this.
I thought that that gave me Kenny Omega in New Japan,
(44:19):
speaking Japanese and surprising the crowd. I love our champion,
our future champion.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
I thought that was I thought that was the move
that was really great. I thought there were some.
Speaker 2 (44:29):
There were some moments in there that felt like you're
gonna you're gonna get hurt, especially in the MGF Mystico match,
that that scared me a little bit.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
But overall, I thought.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Presentation wise and just the energy of that building was
so so good, so good, and and I really enjoyed
that they committed to Hangman's promo for the in arena audience.
And I think that's that might be one of the
differences between w W and a W, is that AW
their shows really are working still for the crowd in
(45:01):
the house.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
It's true double or nothing in particular.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
Yes, we had Yeah versus the crowd at home, where
obviously it's for them as much as anybody, and we're
gonna shoot it that way. But I'm going to address
the crowd, and this is for the crowd. And it
felt very much for the audience and attendance, which just
feels really good when you see it because it then
it feels authentic, I think.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
And I really enjoyed it a lot.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
I'm glad me too. And then we got a really
awesome collision and mine.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Way lower after after Arena Mexico.
Speaker 1 (45:35):
I was like, ah'll be fine, but you and I
believe Aw's been guilty of that on more than one occasion.
Is you'll have all this energy and hype onto dynamite, right.
It is the A show for a W and then
collision several times over, it's felt like an afterthought. I
would include this week, but I tuned in Brad and
I thought this was one of the most fun Collisions
(45:58):
of the entire year codo she popped up. You had
the All Star eight Women's Tag main events. Some of
our favorites featured in that, and there were also a
lot of other noteworthy headlines following that show. And that's
actually where I want to steer the conversation. One of
my favorite quotes from Collision was from Ricochet on commentary
watching Gates of Agony versus Jet Speed. When asked about
(46:21):
Gates of Agony and how they were performing during the match,
Ricochet said, and I quote, I'm an impressive person and
I'm impressed.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
That's great. It bought me.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
I love this for Ricochet. He just he seems so
comfortable and he's just so leaning into this heel character
and that that was one of his one liners that
really got me. But sticking with the one and only
the superstar Who's out of this world if you will,
I think we're seeing the seeds for Gates of Agony
(46:52):
being the guys that Ricochet is going to align with
something I called four weeks ago. What's the ceiling for
this potential tree? Moreover, do you see them as a
vehicle to help Ricochet, say, become a singles champ? Or
would you rather this potential trio dethrone the current champs
the ops as soon as September is all out pay
(47:13):
per view.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
M it'd be a big deal if they dethron those guys.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
I think I would like that because that would helps
Gates of Agony and it would put gold on Ricochet.
I can see him being a single star. I can
see him be in T and T Champ Like. I
don't see that not happening for him, but I want
him in the main title feud picture. I don't know
that he's quite there yet, but T and T seems
(47:42):
super reasonable and makes a lot of sense for his
character because he goes out and wrestles every week.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
And yeah, give him a belt to have to defend
and have them chase him. I think that could be
a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
I think the ceiling is Trios Champs. I really do,
because I think it would help that. Plus they're they're great,
they they deserve to have a run, get them on TV.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
All of those things.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
I love that. I need the Gates of Agony to
hold Gold. I need Ricochet as well. But Gates of Agony, Brad, you,
I've said this to you. If they weren't any other promotion.
I think they would be the centerpiece of the Tag division.
Imagine those two guys to a Leona and Bishop Khan
popping up and let's say TNA. I think they would
run that division w W and maybe maybe take a
(48:28):
little more time, be a little more complex.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Yeah, but having the fight like the Viking Raiders, Yeah,
for sure, you know what that would be for sure.
Speaker 1 (48:36):
And when they come out in their official gear. They
didn't do this for collision for whatever reason, but when
they come out in their official gear, and if you
pair that with Ricochet and and just the gold of
it all, not just holding gold, but I think gold
is kind of a prime color for this potential trio.
I just am so high on what these three can do.
I think Kyle Fletcher is probably going to be the
(48:56):
guy to be thrown Adam Cole for the TNT Championship,
and I think that would affect kind of Ricochet's timeline
to get that title. To me pivoting and having these
three go for the trios title. What would be the
move here? And if you think about the ops, if
we're getting closer, dare I say to the end of
the Death Riders I don't know how you feel about this,
because we have these Chris stat Lander teases. If Mox
(49:19):
drops the title to hang Man at All in Texas
next month, which must happen, and then we get the
Descent of the Death Riders, who could be the team
to feud with the Ops and to to defeat them.
I would love for that to be Ricochet and the
Gates of Agony me.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Too, but I think it's it's just as likely to
be Don Callo's family. Oh no, I mean with.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Their with their seven seven or eight members that they
have o. Now, yeah, if inded a family, he just
needs to just be him.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
But if Fletcher gets the tn T title, then you
and Okada loses this title, then you have then you
have Okata, Takeshta and Josh Alexander as a trios.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
Jeez, that would definitely be able to take on the Ops.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
Yeah, and we saw them beat we saw them beat
the Paragon.
Speaker 3 (50:08):
Right, and that could be and that could be a
lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
So yeah, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
But but I also think what you said, but they
maybe have them go after the tag titles and then
Ricoshet does the uh not Intercom International or that's an option,
you know, like, yeah, so there's there's definitely places there,
but gold for sure.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Definitely your Your point, though, is so great that sometimes
you and I reflect on I mean, we did it
last week right with the Women's Tag Division a w WE.
We speculated on who could become the first champce Julia
Hart and sky Blue. We talked about tij making by
a penalty for it, but then we inserted Chris Statler,
Chris Statlander, Willow Nightingale in the convo, and it's like, oh, yeah, shoot,
(50:47):
nobody's beating them. I feel that way about the team
you've just brought up, the Eco trio of Letcher, Takesha
and Alexander.
Speaker 3 (50:55):
I think we checked all the Boss team. Yeah, I
don't know it came.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
I don't know who's going to beat in those guys.
So it's a fair point by you in a very
very astute one at that.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Okay, Tyler, Koda Bushi is back. He looks incredible by
the way he's been hitting those reps.
Speaker 2 (51:12):
Arena Mexico was a lot of fun and MJF unmasked
Ustico and and lost.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
He lost the match, not something that I thought I
would see.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
Uh, he lost by not really losing, and then everybody
leaves happy. It was a dekey finished so he didn't
get pinned, misticote, didn't get pinned. All all good, But
then he took off the mask. Now, Tyler MJF was
reportedly in a physical altercation at his hotel because of this,
which he thought was was funny. So my question to
(51:44):
you is a couple of couple of options here. Is
this an example of people buying into the.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
Old school way of professional wrestling and just going like, no,
do such things KF.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
But just is real?
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Is this a cultural misunderstanding where it's no, you took
off that mask, you deserve this, even though it was
definitely an agreed upon spot.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
Or is this something else?
Speaker 2 (52:15):
And outside of people being physically threatened, do you like
your audience as being that invested in storylines?
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Go ahead, ho leave the Florida.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
No, in terms of that level of investment, that's that's
that's A.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
That's just a.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
A whisker too much, if you will. But I really
think it's a hybrid of those first two options. So
this is where on the test I would check A
and B. It really is a case of the unmasking
and what that represents, particularly for wrestling fans in Mexico.
Like you said, obviously, Misty Coin MJF agreed on this,
(52:54):
but I think it's really the MJF character as a whole,
and him just flaunting the American flag everywhere, picularly given
the context of where we're at this month as a
country and what we spent ten minutes discussing earlier. You know,
that's certainly a choice as a character, but then also
paired with the cultural context of of you know, being
in the epicenter of Lucha libre and unmasking what seems
(53:17):
to be there arguably their most popular wrestling figure of
the century in Mistico. I forgot just how over he is,
but I was reminded during that entrance and the fans
singing like, oh man, no, this is this is their dude.
So to me, it's a hybrid of both, Brad. But
in terms of investment, when you have fans not only
going to talents hotel, let's say, for best case scenario,
(53:41):
if you wille an autograph or a worst case scenario
wanting to squabble up, that's a little that's a little
bit too much investment. And I'm just glad people were okay,
and it sounds like, like you said, MJF, wore that
as a badge of honor. I'm just glad that that's
how this story ended, yeah, versus something that could have
been much more, much worse. A little too much investment
(54:01):
for me, but that's just my personal proclivities.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
Yeah, well squabble ups in my head now, So thanks
for that, So m J m j F. Yeah, Yeah,
the fan interaction, it's too much. It's way too much.
I love that people care that much, though. Oh, I
love that they care in in uh there there, I
guess fandom as much as they do. But this is
just like when people get in fights at sporting events
(54:24):
and it's like you're you're fighting over a beer be
because somebody threw it at you because you said the
Bears suck?
Speaker 3 (54:35):
What are we doing? Like, what are we?
Speaker 1 (54:38):
What do we we take our sports team? So seriously,
it's like, yeah, we have no we have no impact
on the outcome of this game. We are merely spectators, competitive.
Speaker 2 (54:50):
Competitive spirit. They're out there to win because they want
to win. Relax, just take a breath. It's man, we
saw I mean we saw that at the at the
double Oh up in the stands where people were like
getting super aggressive because alcohol was involved, is because they
get a little bit too tribal and all of those things.
So I, yeah, I'm not a big fan of that,
(55:12):
but I really really really liked.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
I like that it happened.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
It made me feel like it's an old school thing,
so like it'd be different if like they were held back, right,
I'd be fine with that.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
But I don't like that it was at a hotel.
Speaker 2 (55:29):
I don't like that it was you know, like that's
the kind of stuff where it's like or where it
was it was outside of the arena.
Speaker 1 (55:34):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
I don't I don't like that part. When it creeps
out of there, then suddenly you got a problem. It
can become dangerous for both parties evolved and it's it's
not a good time.
Speaker 3 (55:43):
People need to need to chill, and.
Speaker 1 (55:45):
That's part of the charm of Maybe charm isn't the
right word, but I guess the what gives MGF some
extra aura is he does feel like a throwback in
many ways to a different time in pro wrestling where
we've seen it, and I wonder if there's many conversations
backstage where MJF will be amongst the audience and just
do some things that are maybe a little bit questionable,
(56:07):
where he'll just you know, fans may take it a
little bit too far or feel attacked, and and that's
just part of the character. And I think when you're
on when you're on different soil outside of the United States,
I mean, who knows if there was an interaction with
that fan at the venue, or the fan just took
the middle fingers and the unmasking so personally that they
sought MJF out at the hotel. But I think MJF
(56:29):
has a character. I we really interested to hear his
thoughts one day potentially on just how he gets in character.
And I'm sure he's an awesome guy, you know, outside
of the ring, but when he's when he has that
MJF Field character, he's just really performing. And in some
instances I think we've seen where fans, you know, fans
really take it to heart. And in this case, Brad
(56:50):
from from Arena Mexico are ready to tell MJF what's
on their mind.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
I'm really curious to know what the people on the
set of Happy Gilmore too, what their experience was to
kind of get an idea of what MGF is like.
He's in a different contacts. Yeah, yeah, and I'm really
excited for that. I want to see I want to
see how he doesn't so so, Tyler, I I don't
have any contacts, So let's just get into it. It's
(57:15):
it's something we haven't done in a long time. Gut
Buster of the week. Play the music, and now it's.
Speaker 1 (57:22):
Time for the gutbuster of the week. Okay, we're gonna
end on an extra joyous no here, Brad, this was
shared with me. I can't believe I was. I was
sleeping on this story all month. This is actually from
weeks ago. I'll tell on myself here, but I would
imagine we have members of our audience who like me,
(57:43):
like you, who are not hip to the story until
right now. Brad Winchester. There's an internet sensation whose name
is Tyler. I'm gonna tell you first in hay story
that Hayward. Tyler Hayward, great work. Name. The tl d
are the too long, didn't read, don't read version of
this is simply you'll see this headline online. White guy
(58:07):
sings Keith Sweat on a cruise ship. Twenty year old
Georgia resident Tyler Hayworth had a viral moment earlier this
month because on a cruise, he's saying, Keith sweats nobody.
You know, I've been on a cruise before. How many
CRUs have you've been on?
Speaker 3 (58:28):
Counting in the last one?
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Zero? Okay, great us. I was at one cruise. I
was like, I don't think we've We've had a cruise
corner here on the show. We never talked about cruises before,
but I was on one single cruise. This was made
when I was eleven or twelve. And so they'll have
these different opportunities to have fun when you're on a cruise, right,
you go to a magic show, you can play bingo.
(58:50):
I'm making cruises sound great right now. Obviously cards shuffle
board should be a sponsor for us. Oh, you can
eat pizza da da dah. And they'll also, of course
have karaoke. That's just a common societal group thing. And
so in Tyler's case, and this is a majority black audience, Yes,
I'm watching this right now. I got I got this
going in the background. This is so good, so so
(59:13):
I can't even hear it. It's amazing. Oh man, it
makes me so happy. It was a good week for
my algorithm. I got, I got step back here, I
got Tyler.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
So someone in the blue that gets up right away?
Speaker 1 (59:22):
Man, okay. So so to set this up, the audience
had no idea what this twenty year old Tyler's white.
By the way, I don't know who is Tyler's said,
I actually I think I said that it might have
on Anyway, it's very important to know Tyler three times now, yeah,
pretty sure it's iportant to know this. So the audience
has no clue what Tyler's about to sing. And it
wasn't a case where the first few notes of the
song playing the audience got. It wasn't the one of
(59:45):
those insans at all. The song starts to play, Tyler
as his microphone backwards cap. He has his slides on,
and he starts committing to singing yeah yeah, still he's still,
he's still wide at this point in the end club
and he starts singing. Nobody goes, I want to touch
you change right, and the audience, like you said, Brad,
(01:00:06):
you have to check this out if you haven't already
after this episode, search this. The audience just goes nuts,
huge pop. You have all the aunties who are reacting.
Some are getting up and saying, oh wow, I cannot
believe this is Yeah, that's exactly. And he continues to
sing the song and does this little dance and he
just so commits to this. The crowd is in the
(01:00:27):
palm of his hand, and again it garnered millions of views.
The reason I want to tell you this, Brad now
only because it makes me happy and I'm about it
it does the same for you, is because in an
interview with TMZ following how viral this moment went, Tyler
says that he has received so much love on social
media check this out, including dmsy some dms from ladies
(01:00:49):
with maybe some spicy messages I guess, some with a
cash app love letter, which I didn't realize was a thing.
So my takeaway from this it's not about Tyler. Hey,
what about me? Tyler mcdoill blanket. Uh. Maybe I've been
thinking about this all wrong. Maybe the move is into, uh,
apply for batch and not get called back. Maybe it's
(01:01:10):
not to go on Facebook dating. Maybe the move is
I need to go on the next carnival cruise. I
need to seek out the karaoke section. I need to,
I need to sing some key sweat and then maybe
that is my my ascension into Hollywood into uh TO
to d M, d M euphoria. Maybe that maybe that's
the move. What do you think.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
It might be? It might be I don't know. Where
do you do with that's not a cruise ship? Do
you do it somewhere else?
Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
Yeah? I don't know. And part of it is like
this particular guy did it right, Like it's it's so unexpected.
We thought he was going to sing some all American
rejects Brad, so when he when he comes out with
Keith Sweat, nobody manages the surprise element that came into
the bit. I'm just impressed without Tyler executed this, and
he also mentioned that he's received invitations to perform at ways.
(01:02:00):
We're gonna take it. We're gonna take him at his word.
And I just love this Tyler. I just I love
this for him. I think about this club.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
I think you could you could pull it off, but
you're gonna have to invert it and it's gonna have
to be Tyler singing Keith Urban to make this work.
I think it's the only way that you could. You
could flip the script to get that kind of reaction.
But it's just people are just gonna line dance at you. Yeah,
it's not gonna be the same. Energy is gonna be different.
Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
The energy might might turn real bad, real quick too.
So Tyler, Uh, what did we miss?
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Yes, have nothing more to say that really turned on there,
But thank you for thank you for that idea, Brad
Like Yes, so what did we miss? Two notes, both
are wrestling centric. I teased it earlier. There is more
wrestling happening this weekend than just Night of champions Uh.
That is in the form of a wrestling Their latest
(01:02:53):
live special is going down this Saturday, a Return of
the King. This is in reference to Cedric Alexand and
his debut in the company. He's returning to his home state.
You also have Darius Lockhart versus Darius Carter for thehay
Men's Championship. Kiara Hogan is an action. Bishop Khan is there.
Jazz Wrestling Legend is going to be there for a
(01:03:14):
meet and greet. Yes, this is totally a case where
if you and I were in Greensboro or just lived
in North Carolina there for jazz. My family almost moved
there years and years ago.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
Yeah, the whole other life. But this is a case
where if you are anywhere near North Carolina, you should
consider popping up. It's going to be great. Live streaming
will be available. There will be a purchasable streaming link
at AHA wrestling dot Com. That's a se wrestling dot Com.
Hopefully that is going to come out this week and
(01:03:45):
I can't wait to report back how that chow is
on the next GI And then finally Brad a TNA
note here, Joe Hendry versus Trick Williams for the TNA
World Title is set for Slammiversary, but we've received several
teases that Mike's Santana will be added to that match.
He has to be. It's at the UBS Arena, it's
in Long Island. I think we're gonna get a triple threat,
(01:04:07):
and I believe Mike Santana is gonna leave slam Aversary
as the new world champ. I'm also eager to see
what the Masha Slamovich match is gonna be. She, of course,
is the Knockouts Champion. It seems like Indy Hartwell versus
Tesla Blanchard is gonna be their own thing. Maybe that's
another potential trio I'm sorry three way match. We also
(01:04:29):
have Masha taken on Killer Kelly this week, so I'm
assuming Masha is gonna be Killer Kelly. But maybe we
get a women's fatal four way for the Knockouts title.
We shall see one more note here. Cedric Alexander actually
popped up in TNA this past week, and we all
signs point to us getting Cedric Alexander versus Mustafa Ali
for Slammiversary. So man, that show is really shaping up
(01:04:52):
nicely and I'll be fascinated to see what TNA's Q
three looks like. They have a lot of momentum and
I just want them to do right by all their talent,
but especially the Knockouts division. That's all I got. How
about you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
I'm pretty sure that we got Falling Falling Gray and
Masha Slamovich at Dreamwave. I'm pretty sure it'saw Masha cutting
to promo on Fallen Gray on social media, which is
really cool.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Wow, I was not aware.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
I'm telling you there's an ascension happening. I think so, Tyler.
Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
I wrote down a couple of things. One of the
things was the etymology of the word copy. I will
be doing some research. Also, Queen Amanada and and.
Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
Tekla host each other host each other in that match
in the main event on Collision, which deserved the main event.
Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
That roster is loaded. There were people on that show that.
Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
I haven't seen in forever because they're on r OH
all the time, and it was just really great to
see all those women out there Atena. I'm john to
blank seeing Red Velvet come out, we build Starks was there,
Like that was really really cool.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
Thunder I think we forget thunder Rosa. She was a
centerpiece for the division, Yes, and consistently. Yeah, I mean
she was one of the most you remember the thunder
Rosa pop was its own thing. That's how over she was.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Yeah, that injury just really really hurt her momentum. And
then we got all these other people in there and liked,
it's it's crazy because like we have there's people that
are gonna be coming back at some point. We would
we would assume I saw a pick of Brett britt
Baker posting a posting a pick being all shredded, and
I don't know if or when she's coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Ruby's out right now because she is having or had
a baby and she'll come back at some point like that,
still just a loaded, loaded roster.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
After that time, I don't really have anything else because
I don't know listen Yard, you missed opportunities to watch
me sweat in one hundred and thirteen degree heat in
the backyard.
Speaker 1 (01:07:01):
