Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now Damage Infringement.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome everybody to the Gimmick Infringement Podcast. I am Brad
Winchester with me as always as my tag team partner
Tyler McDowell, Blank and Tyler. It is a windy Sunday
in early May. I saw a yellow, a bright yellow
tornado go down my street as I dropped for you
off at the grandparents, I am itchy. Everybody down here

(00:31):
is a little sneezy, but.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It's so nice outside. Otherwise the weather is beautiful. How
you doing today?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Well, first I thought that was gonna be like an
innu window to me and my fashion choices. Now today
I realized as I met you on screen that I'm rocking,
rocking a lot of yellow today. It's the first episode
of May Brad. I'm excited. I know we have a
lot to get into speaking about pro wrestling and pop culture.
It was a good week. I'm grateful. I'm happy to

(00:58):
see you as always was going on. How are you?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I am good?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
It is it is the busiest time of the year,
from from April to the end of the year. Now,
it's just it's just it's NonStop. I believe there are,
if not three events three days of events in the
building in the auditorium this week. Plus I have the
timed practice test on Saturday for my ap syite kids

(01:25):
to lead them into the following Friday where they have
the actual psych test. So lots going on, very busy
weekends from here on till the end of the year.
Graduation is coming up. It is wild around here. I'm
ready for the summer, and people keep going like, oh,
summer's gonna be great, Summer's right around the corner, and
it's like it is.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
There's a lot to.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Do before then. It's not, Wow, I'm on break already.
That's not how this works. There's a lot, a lot
to do. But blessed to have so much to do,
Really happy that I get to do it, Really happy
that I'm not coughing and wheezing as much as I
thought I would be. Right now, I'm telling you, man,
that that yellow in the air, all the mesquite trees,

(02:10):
the peal of verides are everything is just producing pollen
around here, and it's like watching it swirl and then
clump into a pile right at your doorstep.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's certainly something.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
It's it's the swirl for you.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Soon, Yes, as soon as as soon as this is over,
I will be changing the air filters. It's I'm getting
the new ones up there. They're like heavy duty Allergen removers.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
And yeah, it's the deluxe version.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yes, the MERV, the MERV thirteen's I believe they are.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, try to trying to take care of that,
trying to mitigate it as much as possible.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
It's just it's it's.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Itchy around here, and I'm the least affected in the
house by this stuff, the least affected, and.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I'm over here going like taking everything. I mean not
to go. Man, I'm Michie. I'm just yeah, I'm glad.
I'm glad.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I thought I hadn't bought these, these these filters. Because
it is May. We're heading into June, and then we
have the kind of the doldrums of sports for about
a month where there's there's baseball and that's it. And
I have a hard time getting into baseball Tyler, because
Tiger's usually play around two pm. So when am I

(03:18):
going to watch these games? They're they're always playing when
I'm when I'm at work, or by the time I
can actually watch, I don't want to watch anymore. But
they're giving me a reasonable want to watch. They have
a pretty darn good record this year. They are on fire.
I can't believe it. But before before any of that
gets super interesting, Tyler, the basketball playoffs are here and

(03:40):

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Run your game.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I'm sad that I can't read Cake Cunningham in copy anymore,
but the future is really bright for my pistons uh
to to take it to six against a really, really
good team.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I'm okay with that.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I was sad, happy for Mike Steph, sad, sad for
sad for Brad Winchester, but.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Hopeful, hopeful for the future.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Maybe they get maybe they maybe they make a move
to try to pick up one of the eight hundred
All Star players that will be available in the off season.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Hmm, there's a lot, And I don't mean to put
this out in the ether because I sincerely hope Devin
Booker will be a Phoenix Sun for the rest of
his career. If there is any team, any franchise that
he could ever depart Phoenix for, it seems like a
given that it would be his beloved city of Detroit,
state of Michigan and going to the pisiness. Now that
I want that all of our Arizona listeners, But you

(05:57):
have a very bright future with with your Pistons.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Man.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
They're scrappy, they're good, they got lots of young talent,
and I think they really I think I think, yeah,
I think they really discovered something this year. This this
experience I think is gonna be super valuable for them
and then heading into next year and beyond. And who's
to say that they're not a legit threat in the East.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, And they had some injuries and stuff Isaiah Stewart
and I just it's it's gonna be It's gonna be
fun to watch. I hope. I always hope it's gonna
be fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I was really hopeful with like the the the Blake
Griffin era of basketball. It was like all these players,
These name recognized players were there, Blake Derreck Rose, like
all these players were just sort of yeah. The fact
that you had to say, oh, that's right, because the
next sentence is I forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah that was like that was like eight seed was
the ceiling for those squads. This squad sans dep Booker
because the book is not Leavening Phoenix. But I din't
already say that this squad has a much higher ceiling.
Kate Cunningham is legit. You got the other Thompson brother there. Uh,
Jalen Duran is a problem, Like, come on Hardway, there's yes,

(07:07):
Dennis Shuter fantastic pick up for them. Yeah, they got
the right coach. Yeah, it's I can see right now,
Mike stuff typing in the comments. Dad is right right now.
Guaranteed he is typing his thoughts in me. Maybe he
has a different take. I don't know, but he loves you,
so I'm sure he'll. I'm sure he'll. He'll provide a
nice balance for us.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I don't know. I sent him a video about about
the about the Jets, So we'll we'll see, Tyler.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
We gotta we got a lot to get into. I
have a feeling. I know where this is gonna go,
so I try to tweak it the w w B.
I'm excited to get your question here because a lot
of things happened outside of the ring this week. I
know we're gonna get into it. Hit me with your question.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah, all facts, Brad Winchester. You know where we're starting.
The two most important words on gimmick infringement. Steph Watch
Steph watch Steph watch our NXT Women's champ, Stephanie Blacker
did it again, Brad. She wrestled on Raw for a
second straight week, defeating Ivy Nile. Vicer is featured prominently

(08:14):
on the poster for NXT Battleground, the next pl at
the end of the month. I actually think it's going
head to head with Doubler or nothing, so we'll probably
end up catching the replay of that. But regardless, very
happy for her. She also reached one million followers on Instagram.
We called this weeks ago. Her star continues to ascend,
which makes me very very happy. However, it wasn't all

(08:36):
good this past week. Another set of WE superstars were
released on Friday, bron Stroman, Shana Basler, Dakota Kai Jakara, Jackson,
Kora j Gigi Dolan, Kayden and Katana, Eddie Thorpe and
others are looking for new wrestling homes. My question, what
are your thoughts on this news and how does it impact,

(08:57):
if at all, your excitement for Backline this weekend.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
H doesn't really impact it at all. I most of
the talent I want to like, I want to be
really surprised by any of it. I like the one
that I thought was probably that this one, this one
might surprise you.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Maybe, I don't know. The one that shocked me the
most that got released was was core Jade.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
That was when I thought they were investing in long term.
And maybe it's because she's been injured so often. Maybe
they just went like, well, I don't know if it's
if we can, if we can rely on her body
to hold up. I don't know if that's what it was,
but that that would surprise me more than anything Shane
has been there forever. But as as soon as Sonya left,

(09:43):
I was like, man, this is they haven't really been
using her. They have her come out every once in
a while, but she was doing stuff at NXT. Really
surprised by that. Bronz Stroman had a thing and then
just kind of disappeared. Has he hasn't been around in
a long time, so doesn't really affect it in any way.

(10:03):
And it seems like it wasn't this this particular departure
seems like it was pretty amicable. It was sort of like, yeah,
we're done, Shatzi was, We're just not going to renew
your contract, which they haven't been using her. So again,
it makes sense, and I correct me if I'm wrong.
I thought she had gotten injured and had come back

(10:24):
off of that, and then that is waiting for creative.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
I don't really know what happened there, but.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
There's not a lot of people on that list that
I was like, oh man, they're gonna have to change
everything around this.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
They have a loaded roster. Alistair Black is back, russev
is back, Stephanie continues to climb. There's all this.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Mariah may could become an insuer then later.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Right, there's just all this talent that's there that.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
While I would love to see Mariah may continue in AW,
I get it like I get it. She seems very
well suited to go over to w W right now.
I think she makes the most sense in NXT and
I could see that changing later, But like who she
would face on the main roster, I'm less interested in

(11:14):
than who she would face on the current at XT
roster Steph watch between her and and running it back.
I'm pretty sure she and Julia had some matches when
they were both over and stardom New Japan, So there's
there's a lot of And actually I have no idea
if she's ever faced you know, Sky or Kyrie Sayin.

(11:36):
I would imagine if either of them, it would be
Kyrie Saane as the most recent stint.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
But yeah, I have no I have no idea what
to expect.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
All I all I could say is that this doesn't
affect my my my viewing, or my desire anything for
for backlash at all, because none of them really had
anything to do with any of the storylines or the
talent that are involved right now. So it's just sort
of it sucks. I feel for the whole the whole
group of people that lost their jobs. That part, that

(12:07):
part really sucks, and that's the most important part. But
in terms of just consuming content, not doesn't it doesn't
affect it. This is not this is not a Vince firing, right.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Right, Bron Stroman's had a fascinating career. Two that sticked
out to me from this list, I arguably the two
most high profile names Bron Stroman the ebbs and flows
of his run in WWE, and then SHANEA Basler. Yeah,
it seems like we have the Shana Basler conversation at
least quarterly here on GI about Man. I think back
to when she was in NXT and she was tearing

(12:38):
me up yep, and I would say, correct me if
I'm wrong, since she had that vampire turn like low
key like Sinners before Sinners hit theaters many years before
this was the Pirate WrestleMania, the Pandemic Mania. She had
that match Tropicana, Yeah, she had. She had that match
with Becky Lynch for the title. I believe she lost,

(13:00):
but then she became a vampire and bit Becky And
since then it just hasn't for me as a Sheen
a Basler fan, it just has never approached the highs
of that NXT run. And maybe you could talk it
up to those who were in charge back in twenty twenty,
different regime than who we have now. But bron Strohman,

(13:21):
she in a Basler. I'm very excited to see what's
next for all of these talented superstars. Brad, Dakota Kai
has really developed a ground.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Really, actually, I take that back, that's probably the most shocking.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
That's very shocking. Yeah, well, you said, Cordiate, she was
just in a program with Masha Slamovich. Yeah, the WWE
NXTTNA partnership. She was just she was just over there
prominently over the last couple of months. That surprised me
as well. But I think I agree with what you're
about to say. Dakota Kai incredibly surprising. I'm glad we
at least got to see her when we went to

(13:54):
RAW last year. She's great.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
I forgot to even bring her up because it's like,
oh yeah, why would they really, it didn't even enter
my mind. So when I saw it, I was like,
this is this is wild because she was in that
icy picture for a while and she almost won people,
and people wanted her to win the fect.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, it was like that's her time. It's coming all
the shores and it's like all right, well never mind.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, Kaden and Katana are dope. I think they bring
a ton of value. And again, if we're going to
invest and this is for All Wrestling Company. I actually
would argue, I know we've been a bit critical of
TNA as of late. We'll talk about TNA later also,
but if there's any company that's consistently invested in women's
tag team wrestling over the last decade, TNA is probably

(14:37):
sitting in the driver's seat in that conversation if there
WW be serious about investing in their women's tag division.
I know Live Morgan's off the shoot A movie, and
it looks like her and Riquell are going to be
a bit inactive as the champs. Kaden and Katana are
such a fun duo. I really enjoy their work. I
think they're going to kill it if they go on
the indies or if maybe they're poised to sign with TNA.

(15:00):
I think they would be front runners to defeat Ashen
Heather by elegance, and I don't know what that's like now, Brad.
With the TNA partnership solidified, is it possible that some
of these superstars end up in TNA. Is that totally
on the up and up? They can sign with TNA
even though they were just least I know Andy Hartwell
just signed with CNA, so business wise, I'm curious if

(15:21):
that that official new partnership with TNA, if that plays
a role into how some of these talent may be impacted.
No pun intended with potentially signing, because to me, it
seems like a lot of them would thrive in TNA.
I mean, bron Stroman would be the biggest name in
that men's division the moment if he signs with TNA again.

(15:43):
Kid Ni Katana would be dope. The code is great,
Eddie Thorpe, I think would be a fantastic edition. I
think you'd have a Steve Macklin like Presidence, who's the
new TNA International Champion. So I'm really excited. I think
that these these superstars have to be super motivated, and
I can't wait to see what they do when thirty
or or ninety days. It's just it's it's interesting when

(16:04):
and granted, all these companies are businesses at the end
of the day, right, but they often will tout we
made record profits. You and I joked on air weeks
ago about when they make the announcement at the p
l E this is the highest grossing weekend ever.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Yeah, we you know, we spent rat money on this
show because we're a bunch of marks. It's just it's
just that that juxtaposition of Okay, you do that, but
then at the same time you trim.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
The roster, and I know you're thinking about shareholders and
what have you. But to me, I already told you
I was. I was a bit out on backlash to
begin with. Once very predictably, Logan Paul was mentioned as
the next challenger for JUSO, so I shouldn't be in
my feelings about that even though I am. And then
Pat McAfee gets the gunthir match.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
I was already kind of like, I'm not all that
interested yet.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Can we just put those on the other pre show
and then I can just tune in for the main one.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
It has it has to sting to to see two
not wrestlers get spots on this ple amidst a bunch
of wrestlers getting released. Yes, if I'm if I'm one
of the talent, perfectly, I'm I'm probably not feeling great
that Pat McAfee is getting the spot, but I just

(17:24):
got leto for my job or or even the people
that are still there. Pat McAfee is getting that spot,
it has to be it. Listen, man, I understand completely,
why it's happening, completely, why it's happening. Backlash as a
ple e completely not important, not important at all. If

(17:46):
you asked me to name as many pos as I could,
I don't know that I get to backlash at all
just just naming them. I'm probably I probably would go
in order. But like, nobody really cares. Nobody's like, oh man,
I can't wait for Backlash. No, it's WrestleMania. You care
about WrestleMania. You care about like money in the bank.

(18:06):
And then you know, like your big one survivor series.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
And typically for Backlash because it's so close after WrestleMania,
and in this case it's literally two to three weeks
after the main event, finish is usually not in question.
You know the champion is not going to drop it backlash,
And in this case, I don't think anyone outside of
Saint Louis and Randy Ordon's close family believes that he
has a shot of winning this. Like John Cena did
not win that WrestleMania just to drop it three weeks

(18:32):
later in Saint Louis.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
No no chance, no chance.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
But we know the finish, I mean, it's going to
be a spectacle, it's going to be the last time
these two duels, So there's a lot of intriguing cashe
just based on that these are two future Hall of famers,
but typically backlash also has that, well the storylines following
the show, is it really going to be anything super substantial? Right,
last year was in France. I think previous year or

(18:57):
two before was in Puerto Rico. So that's already enough
reason to tune in, enough buzz. But the actual matches, Yeah, okay,
let's throw Logan Paul in the championship match. Let's throw
Pat McAfee. We know it's gonna be on Sports Center.
We know people are going to tune in.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
On their own platforms.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
They're gonna Yeah, just for me and my own personal taste,
you know, these two guys do nothing for me. And
to your point, you have a roster full of incredibly
talented wrestlers who I believe are deserving of those spots.
But if you draw, you draw, and certainly McAfee and
Paul have that that skill and they can go when

(19:33):
they ring, right. Both of them are not They're not putzes. Like, no,
they had fun, they've had fun matches, but Gunther is
for sure beating him, and I hope Jay Usso defeats
Logan Paul. That also, there's no way Logan Paul becomes
Champ this quick. That would seem absurd to me.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
No, And Logan Paul is very good in the ring.
And Pat McAfee has I'm kind of curious to see
what they do with him.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Me too, When all say, match against Barren Corbin two
years ago?

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Was it Corbin?

Speaker 1 (20:03):
There was the Adam Cole match in n x T.
There was Baron KORbin at either WrestleMania or Summer Slam.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
I know it wasn't Baron Corbin. It was it was
Austin Theory. Wasn't it Theory? I think you're right, but
it's been a minute. Yeah, but he did the Austin
Theory match. It was the exact same match as the
Adam Cole match, Like after the finish was the same,
Everything was exactly the same. So that's why I'm curious
to see what they do. Are they going to do
the exact same match again and just have him do

(20:33):
the exact thing same things because they're like, well, we
know you can do these things, so do the exact
same things.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
And if you had to destroyer wrong going there. I
just I don't know what I'm gonna I don't know.
I don't know what I'm gonna do. Brad, Yeah, I
might just might just have to take a break.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
So it's it's yeah, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Look at Paul, I know, well, he'll go in there
and wrestle and it'll it'll be interesting and different. I
just the storylines are just, man, I don't care. I
really don't care all that much. Not when you have
somebody as like popular right now with fans doing absolutely nothing.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
In cross and carry across.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
That dude built his brand back up, and they want
him on TV because every time he comes out, it's
like massive cheers and massive pop. I think he's I
can't remember the last match he wrestled.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Was it AJ.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Probably, And then there was some.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Like dark stuff or main event I can't even remember.
And then he did Blood Sport Media weekend, but.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
We'll talk. We'll talk about that later. Tyler.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
My question for you, well, first, obviously, releases are the
biggest topics, so I'm sure there are fiscal reasons that
the release has happened on Friday, but they happened before
SmackDown This allowed the talent to piggyback off of the
Mackdown audience on social media enough where people were talking

(22:03):
about them and not the show. I was so locked
in on that I forgot about anything that happened on
the show, to be honest with you, So because really
enjoy most of the talent who were released, and we
always want to see people find success.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
My question simple, what has been.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Your favorite way of growing name recognition and building hype
for talent on social platforms I should say released talent
talent that are in the wind. What's your favorite thing
that you've seen talent.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Do someone who'd been released and then built their name
back up.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, think of a Matt Cardona, or he's the first person,
or even like just just building a brand based on
socials like like Dan Housen or or so many, so
many different people.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely so Matt Cardona of course is up there.
Even Stephan Ruby, Yeah, of course I was just thinking
about too, Yes, yeah Ruby. So even Steph de Lander,
who was teaming with Cardona for a long time on
the indies, she built up her name. I think she
was actually just down the road at the Wrestling Guy
store shout out to Tony and Crew for a book signing.

(23:07):
She wrote a book which is amazing. Dan Housen, as
you said, what a great entrepreneur. Yeah, you know, I'm
really good to see. I don't think we've spoken about
him lately. Actually, Cedric Alexander really eager to see the
summer of Cedric, if you will, on what he's going
to do in terms of building up that name id
and reminding folks that he's spectacular in the ring. I'll
give you one more. Maybe this is actually my official answer.

(23:30):
Must off Ali. Granted he signed with TNA. Now he's
opened to his school in Chicago, but he did a
phenomenal job when he developed the campaign in Ali, we trust.
I love the vignettes he shot. I love the merch
and just the interaction with fans and how he was
developing a new character. To me, these are all great

(23:50):
templates for what any of the names we mentioned before
can do. I didn't even mentioned Shakhar Jackson. I think
you gave her a nod. Thank you for that. That
was also surprising to me. I thought for sure her
and Lash could be future tag team champs. I really
enjoyed their work together. I think she could also be
a great candidate for building her identity as a singles wrestler. Now,
so these are all I think, great, great basis for

(24:14):
what these released talent could could implement on their own
moving forward, and luckily with live in a time now
with social media, with more wrestling companies than ever, hopefully
hopefully no recession inside. Yeah, Asha absolutely GCW. The list
goes on the weekend. Yeah, of course, So that's that.

(24:34):
That leaves me hopeful and excited to see what all
these folks are going to do. I think Eddie Thorpe
as well showed a lot of promise as a character
in NXT, and I think he's gonna shine wherever he
ends up. How about you.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Yeah, all the things that you said, I think all
of those were great examples. I can't think of anybody
else right now the top of my head that I love.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
But I think.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Part of it doesn't it doesn't really count because it's
it's through a promotion. But you know, I had seen
I had seen Jay White Russell and never really caught
much like I said, don't watch New Japan shows that
I didn't really know what was going on in there.

(25:17):
He's in the Bullet Club I don't really know what's happening.
It was his promos after a match, but it was
like the post match press conference promo, not I'm on
my own kind of promo. But those promos allowed him
to just sort of show his personality and his character,
and I think having those things available for people would

(25:40):
be would be really great. Great or even like carrying
Cross Killer Cross, whatever he goes by, I think there
might be changes coming there.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
He went.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
He went viral over Vermania weekend when he went in
there and basically said the stuff about about Logan Paul
getting the spot at Mania and all these things, and
he just he spit dragon Fire, and obviously it was like,
this is a character thing I'm working. There's no chance
he didn't have that preapproved. But it was great and

(26:15):
it was enough where it's like he showed up on
like a totally. It wasn't after a match. It was
just he crashed oppressor, did a thing. It went viral.
I can't wait to see somebody like corridated is she's
not cordiating now, she's back to what Elena Black?

Speaker 3 (26:33):
What's that look like? After having experienced so.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
She's got for several years? And then they say thanks
but no thanks.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Taking pics with CM Punk in the back and then
having Punk comment with encouraging words.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
I thought was really cool. On her post, what's what
Shatzy black Heart looked like? Is she still Shotsy black
black Heart or is she something else? Because I think
Shotzy black Heart she owns. I think just Shatzi is
what the w W has, because remember she went to
the main roster and she was just Shatzi, So I
think that she might still own Shatzi Black black Heart,

(27:09):
kind of like uh Eyo Shari had to go up.
She got called up and became you know, sky Yes,
it's probably something similar there where NXT. It's probably still
more local, we'll call it versus w w B owned
for some of the talent. Kora je Aide seems specifically
like a w w B invention, and that was back

(27:29):
in the sky Blue Darby Allen phase of Kora Jaide.
The I look like sky sky Blue but have a
skateboard like Darby but couldn't skate I really I always
thought that was funny.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
Get out, but that was a whole recent era. Yeah,
the origins of n E T two point no. And
she you know, there's a she put in time and
work to develop a main roster. Yeah, sentation, and now
for her to get that news. Yeah, I am also

(28:05):
very excited to see what she does well.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
And as a woman in the in talent, Like, I
can't imagine what the pressure is to go like, well,
if I want to go on main roster, you physically
have to look different and then talk about it, the
pressure for plastic surgery and stuff. I don't know how
much she's spent to specifically enhance her appearance very much
for a WWE main television product that probably felt like

(28:28):
this is the best way for me to get it,
like go up in the industry and then to have
to do that where you basically went, I'm going to
change the way that my shape is forget like I
put in the work to become stronger, grow muscle, I'm
going to change my physical appearance through surgical means and

(28:49):
then have them go eh, like that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Yeah, to me, that's something I would imagine. Dude, just
don't have to think about. Like you said, it's more
about what I need to hit the gym, I need
to lift heavier weights. But for women there's such a
pressure and for the longest. You and I've talked about
this on and off here for the longest, there's just
been this sort of glass ceiling of Okay, once once
you hit thirty four, thirty five, your usage is it's

(29:13):
it's came and went. Unluckily, it seems like we're not
exactly in that era anymore, but seemingly there is that
pressure for women to look a certain way if you
want to reach the highest of hies on on Mondays
and Fridays, and an example of that just from our couches,
it seems like that's an example of she put in
work and time and and the like to have that

(29:36):
presentation that could work on Mondays and Friday. She's really improved.
She's grown on me in the ring and as a character. Yeah,
she's awesome.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
And she's not.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
You know, women aren't the only ones that had probably
felt pressure for this, because you know, COVID happened and
Roman came back with new teeth like it.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
That's a great point. Yeah, he did. He looked, he
looks much different before the pandemic. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
I actually at first I was like, ooh, this is
a lot.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
And then they kind of the issue with a black
light they're going to see in space, but then it
flash forward to now and I can't.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Imagine him without that change.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Yeah, and we know, and I think he may have
said it Ortis in the Vanity Fair interview, amongst other things.
He said in the Vanity Fair interview, Hollywood certainly in
his future, in the next five or so years. I
forget the exact timeframe he used, but we know he
has ambitions to have opportunities in Hollywood, which again that's
part of the presentation. When he came back, it's like, oh,

(30:28):
this guy looks like he just and I'll defer to you,
this is more your expertise. Bread. It looks like Roman
Reigns just stepped out of a Marvel set. Like well once,
once he's set all the WrestleMania records, I think we're
gonna see him pop up on a Max series or
on the big screen.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Well, I mean, again, not to harp on this point,
but like the rock in the I'm wearing like the
big baggy jersey in my wrestling match phase was because
he had surgery to reshape his pecks because.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
He was a little I didn't even realize that.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah, yeah, so that was all because he was still
recovering and he had scar tissue and stuff.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
It's a cosmetic business.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, yeah, it totally so you know, uh, and obviously
that was a long term payoff for him, So it's
not like it's it's only affecting the women. But I
named the kind of couple examples I could think of
in the men's division outside of No, I broke my
whole face in an accident. Now I need to have
a cosmetic repaired. It's not I have to do it

(31:29):
because Vince wants me to look a certain way. However,
there was a steroid era, so there all all of
those things are It is a cosmetic business. You are
on television with your barely your clothes on, so so
I totally understand that part. It's just I'd like to
think that we've moved as a society away from having

(31:50):
to go like, no, being in shape and not passing
out in the middle of the match is more important
than the cosmetic thing.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
I don't think we have.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
But because I was, oh, yeah, there's some there's some
wrestlers from the from the eighties and nineties that had
unbelievable physiques that were not easy to look at in
the in the face. There was a lot of people
that were.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Like whoa, hey.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
Both when you were on the poster, right, like who's
going to be on the poster that will listen? Then
you lean into it, that will listen.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Fans saying, you know, I'm thinking Luna right now, ludavitit like.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I want to pay my money, my harder money, and
see this person, yeah, fight someone else in the ring.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Yeah, and they did, and they still did it for
mankind and they weren't going out of the way to
go like I can't wait to see his apps, right,
it was No, his character is awesome. So yeah, that's that,
And that's the importance of having all of it. I
just it bumps me out when I see talent put
in all that work and all that time and get
injured and then get released and it's always, you know,

(32:55):
grind and work your way back up. Maybe it's just
been depends on the talent. Because Braun reinvented himself, got shredded,
came back, got released again.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
The real question is do you think he starts that
company back up?

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Oh see y n control your narrative parton Yeah, sure,
I sure hope not. Remember ere I remember when e
C three was one of the hottest acts in the industry.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
What a time.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Yeah, speaking of time, it is time to move on, Tyler.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
We have a what happened here?

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I've heard, I've I've heard interviews about this interview, and
I have not yet seen it. So we're gonna We're
gonna cueue up the music, and I'm gonna let.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
You tell the folks all about it. Play the music.
It's time for what happened here? What happened here?

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Where to begin with this? I have not as many
no as I usually do for what happened here, Brad,
because I am still processing this story. It was a
week ago, actually just a few hours before we recorded
last week in which Bill Belichick's interview aired on CBS
Sunday Morning. This is maybe the first CPS Sunday Morning

(34:17):
reference in gimmick infringement history. So Belichick, longtime NFL coach,
widely considered the greatest coach in the history of the sport,
feel free to push back. I know you just mind, Brad,
but undeniably uber successful with the Patriots. He is now
entering a new phase of his life in many different respects.
Occupationally speaking, he is heading into his first year as

(34:39):
the head football coach at the University of North Carolina.
He is also on a book tour. He published a
book about his career, and he has a new boom. Brad.
In case you haven't heard, the seventy three year old
Belichick is allegedly dating, not even allegedly. I'm pretty sure
both have confirmed it in their own words, twenty four
year old Jordan Hudson. And the reason why these two

(35:03):
are the subject of what happened here is the aforementioned
CBS Sunday interview. Brad. It is eight minutes of sheer cringe,
if I may use that word. First of all, cosmetically,
I never thought i'd say these words. Bill Belichick, to
an interview that he was given advanced notice for, is
wearing a distressed sweatshirt. There's there's a hole in it.

(35:29):
Intentionally content wise, in this interview, things really went south. Well. First,
he says it was a mutual decision between he and
the Craft family to let him go from Newing, and
people are like, well, it wasn't really your MUTUALI did.
They kind of let you go because you were struggling.
But the part of the interview that's getting all the
headlines is when the interviewer for CBS Sunday Morning asks

(35:54):
how did you and Jordan meet? And then Jordan Hudson,
who was now moonlighting and as his PR agent, is
seen in the foreground and says, interrupts and says, we're
not answering that, we are not discussing that, and Bill
Belichick just goes with it. And then you have New
York Post headlines claiming that George Hudson has now inherited

(36:16):
a multimillion dollar real estate portfolio. And there are so
many different directions in which we could take this conversation.
Rad I'm not sure which one is the right or
less problematic avenue. If you I'm gonna ask you this,
if you were maybe Stephen Belichick, bill Belichick's son, or
you just have Bill Belichick's phone number, he's your homie,

(36:40):
are you reaching out to him to check in? Because
I don't know if this is a you'll Bill blink
twice if you need a situation. Maybe they're just in
love and we should celebrate that. But it seems pretty
jarring that we're in this place with Bill Belichick, does
it not.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
It's really strange when you think oh, this guy is
dating somebody that their difference in age is greater than
my entire span of life. And I turned forty three
in twenty days. It's one of those things that this
is the America of double standards, because you know that

(37:17):
people are celebrating this and by people letting men as
a win for Bill Belichick, Belichick going good for you,
good for him, those kinds of things.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
And if it was a.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Seventy three year old woman dating a twenty four year
old man, people will be questioning, what's going on here?
Is this person being taken advantage of? Is this so
either she is a she's a gold digger and yes,
the song is in my head now too, or they're

(37:52):
in love, or we don't know what's going on and
they're just really just partners and they're close.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Or something else.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
Maybe there's something in the middle there, Maybe there's a
friends with benefits thing going on. All I know is
that we want to know because W Jones, if if
if Josh Allen, if you were still single and he
was found to be dating a seventy three year old,

(38:23):
just looking at the expression on your face that just
happened is kind of what I feel like is going
on here, Like, I.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
This Belichick, of all of all potential coaches that we
would have nominated for, who would be in this position,
This just seems like so far from the image of
Bill Belichick. That hoodie, the cerebral, the.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
The what does Bill do during the summer.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
Review plays?

Speaker 3 (38:49):
No, the go sailboating out in like Nantucket.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Oh is real.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
It's exactly the kind of guy I would expect it,
rich white guy from like the rich northeast part of
the country, like even rich white guy things. Of course
he's dated a twenty four year old.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Did you see the Instagram posts as well that that
Hudson put on her page where it's effectively supposed to
be Bill Belichick sort of going fishing at sea and
Hudson is a mermaid and it's like, yo, he caught me,
I'm a mermaid and we're it's just given Black Mirror, Brad.
I don't know if they're popping up in season six
of Black Mirror, but this is a story that is

(39:26):
really captivated not only sports but entertainment. Media is probably
going to be that way for the rest of the year.
Do you think Bill Belichick coaches a game at UNC.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Are you aware of the investigation and the public emails
and all that stuff. Okay, so there's way more about
this than you I think you realize.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
So I just want to talk about the Mermaid post.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
No, he had basically said specifically he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
Want one of his sons, I don't remember which of
his sons don't bring him up in the pressers like,
I don't want his name to get brought up. I
think he's trying to distance himself as Bill Belichick's son
and let him stand on his own merit.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
I don't believe it was Steve.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
I think it was I can't remember the other sin's
name it Chris will go with white guy named Chris.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
I think that's.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Probably it, or Christophe, one of the two. I can't
remember exactly what it was, but I know she had
emailed There's like nothing to farious and nothing like dirty
or anything on there. I think they were just like, well,
what are the emails that are going because it's public
record because he's doing it through UNC, and they wanted
to see what was being sent. And I know she

(40:34):
had done stuff either on his behalf or to him,
and there was some stuff in there.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
They were looking into. I think that he'll end up coaching.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
I really do, unless the university finds something in some
reason to say no, because there's a lot of like
public scrutiny here. There's no chance, zero percent chance that
they didn't think there was going to be public scrutiny,
that a microscope was going to be hovering over the
university and that attention would be drawn to the university,

(41:03):
attention they want for the university. So I don't unless
Bill decides to move on, I think he's I think.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
He's coaching.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Me too, Me too. It's going to be fascinating. Now
does it last past year? One? Probably you shall see
because maybe maybe two.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
How how long did how long did Dion last there?

Speaker 1 (41:23):
He said he's not Colorado, but where he's us at
Jackson Jackson State. He was there for a good three
four years.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
I was going to say I thought it was less
than that. I thought it was only a couple but
three three three sounds right, yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Four because he because he had said like, oh yeah,
I'm never going to leave here, this is my place.
All that. Now he's in Colorado State.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Money too, Yeah, yeah, I want to say it was three.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
Year twenty twenty two. Wow, so three years.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Okay, there you go, right, twenty twenty one, twenty two, Yeah, yeah,
there you go. Yeah, that sounds right.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
We shall see something to keep an eye on.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
So so I'm thinking less than Dione's that.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
I just don't listen, Brett. We've had situations I know,
certainly in my own life and friends where you see
a new relationship starting and you know from jump yo,
this is not going to end well. Yeah, I'm gonna
be tuned in for all of it, but it's not
going to end well. I think that's a fitting way
to describe what we're seeing here with Belichick and Hudson

(42:22):
and we shall see.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
I wasn't sure if you met Belichick and Hudson or
Belichick and Unco.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Well, yeah, all the above, both secret options.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
See yeah, all the Yeah, all the above and none
of the above area the only other options.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
All right, Tyler, let's get into aw hit me with
your question.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Yeah, I'm really excited about this one. First two shout
outs for early double or nothing predictions. I want to
give a nod to George Romero, he is going with
Jamie Hayter, And then big shout out to Mow the
Mojio King, one half of nineteen Media's founders. He is
picking the CEO Sades Monday, we shall see later this month.

(43:02):
And then also one more shout out to George. He
is going with will Osprey, but he made it a
point to say he will rep his hangman Adam page
T at Desert Diamond Arena for double or Nothing. George Mo.
We appreciate you both and thank you all of our
listeners for joining us. As always, please like, subscribe, share,
please give us a comment. If you're here on YouTube,
we want to know your predictions. We want to know

(43:23):
your thoughts on Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson and what
we are about to talk about. Brad Winchester. AW I
want to remind you of a day not too long
ago when four guys were prominently featured on weekly AWTV
Darby Allen, Jack Perry, MJF and Sammy Gavara. They're also

(43:43):
known as the Pillars now, the latter one a four
way match on Collision. You were my go to source
for Collision this weekend. Thank you for that. And MJF
seems determined to join the Hurt Syndicate, which I know
you have thoughts on outstanding tea. By the way, shout
out to our YouTube viewers. We haven't seen Darby or
Parry on screen in months now. We've entered a new

(44:05):
era of AW and therefore, I believe it's time that
we nominate four new members of the roster to become
an updated version of the Pillars. Two criteria for you,
this isn't male exclusive, and your picks cannot already have
held a singles title in THEW. Who are you nominating?

Speaker 3 (44:26):
I got nobody right now?

Speaker 1 (44:29):
Would you like to hear mine? Yes?

Speaker 3 (44:31):
I would like.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
I can't think of anybody that's on the roster right
now that I'm like that one that hasn't already had
a thing.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
Yeah, a singles title so far?

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Okay, singles AW title correct?

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Not roah on AWTV title that they won an AWTV title.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
No, No, it has to be an AW championship.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
And not hardcore or not FTW correct.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
I'm gonna let you.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
I can't remember who who hasn't. I don't remember who
had what belts. There's too many condamn belts on the show.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
We'll have the production team fact check you. We're good.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
Huh, speedball. I like people Mike Bailey, Okay, in there
for eight minutes, so yeah, I don't know what do
you got on?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
This was This was a rare instance where I actually
prepared for the possibility of you asking me. So here
are my for that I'm nominating. I think you'll like
this list. Queen Ami Nada. Okay, we have a segment
for seventy fock care we may have I know.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
I know you said not.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
And I always go men's first because it's easier to
are harder to find the men's one.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
And with Queen if we think, okay, well she's been
around for a minute, how she held the title maybe
an r o h to my knowledge.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
It's like, I don't know, I know that she definitely
has not had one in AW thus far. So my
four Queen Ami Nada. Kyle Fletcher has not held the
singles title yet. And I think this dude is for
sure going to be a future World's okay r o h,
but not yeah, not a w proper because he was
he TV champ. I think, yeah, that's right, good call,
good call, yep, thank you for That's why.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
That's why I'm like he held the title that his
care he did.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Just for itself, the gear, the little you know, the
little point gimmick like it's just it's it's just all
working for me.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
My other two Megan Bain, Yeah that I need to
offer any explanation there. And then finally this this will
maybe a little bit dicey with our audience. I gotta
go with Holograham Man. I love me some Hologram. I
want him to be in a meaningful program, but not
only the in ring work and the lucha libre magnificence,
if you will, But I think this is someone who

(46:36):
could really captivate younger audiences. And if we continue printing
those masks and getting some te's to meet Hologram in
this in this quartet could provide something totally unique, that
is totally ae W. I think all four of these
talents represent a W and the vibes you want to
give it. Okay, here's what we present. That's a different
product to me. All four in different ways showcase that

(47:00):
that's my new new set of the pillars.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
That makes sense if you're gonna go like people that
have that are on the rise, that are that are yes,
we'll call them homegrowns Yes, because Otherwise I'd be like,
I'm shock you didn't say Ricochet. Kyle Kyle Fletcher went
in is not a not really a homegrown as a
singles talent. Yes, and that's only because Mark Davi's got hurt.
Otherwise he will be doing United Empires.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
And Megan Ban has had a storied career on the
indies before hopping up. But I had never seen Megan
Bean manage. I'll call myself. I've never seen her actually
work until she pops up.

Speaker 3 (47:33):
In You're You're the two women that you named?

Speaker 2 (47:36):
Yes, those two, those are the two I mean I
could also I could also go sky Blue. I know
she's coming back, yes, but I don't. I don't put
her in the same category as as the other two.
They're like they're just it's different somewhere else. Yeah, at
least those those are the two that I think, like
main title for sure, we're sky Blue. I can I

(47:57):
could see her taking TBS right or even going in
and doing ro Oh Gold because Billy Starks is somebody
that had put on that list too. But she's an
r OH talent kinda. Sometimes she fights champions in aw.
I don't know what the hell's going on. I don't
know why.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
I don't know what's happening.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
So Billy Starks would be another person that i'd want
to put on there, But Hologram's a really good one.
Beast more TOAs is too. I think Hologram makes more
sense to build around.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Kind of what character do I build around? I don't
know because there's nothing there at all. There's just mask
and Glow.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
Or beast more TOAs where there's Growl and mask and
both of them, I don't know anything about them. I
can't build around anything because it's like, I don't know
what do you guys want, Like, why do you care
about this?

Speaker 3 (48:51):
I don't know anything about these people, these characters.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
So I would want more, but it's really hard to
argue against any of them. Everybody else that I'm thinking
about has had a singles title, most of them. T
and T is the only Pillar to not uh hold
the TNT Championship Max and he's also the only Pillar

(49:14):
to win the Big Belt and he.

Speaker 1 (49:17):
Was International champion for a minute.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
Then yeah it will yeah because Sammy was TNT a
couple of times Babyface and then he'll turn with uh
the naked with with Tay stuff.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
That was like everybody was like, all right, this sucks,
and then it just.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Seems like so long ago. Remember there was a we
even had the Pillars match nothing two or three years ago.
I really enjoyed that four way that was like, oh man,
this is something as an a w FAM we've I've
wanted for a while now. But it just seems like
a totally bygone era at this point.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
But but Sami was also beefing with Scorpio Sky and
Ethan Page at that time.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
I missed Scorpios.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
Him year For some reason, I wasn't paying attention when
when Reach for the Sky Boy and Mark Briscoe came out, thought,
well they both start with Reach for the Sky. Reach
for the sky Boy is Mark Briscos, which makes me go,
I don't know, maybe you gotta change that.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
What are we doing, Sandy Ford?

Speaker 3 (50:17):
Uh, yeah, I've never been I'm not making chick our chickens,
Our chickens a metaphor.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Because because Scorpio Sky comes out too, it's just reach
for the and then it's the music try and he's
he's healthy by all the Yeah, I don't why they're
not using that.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
Man.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
He was he was.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Great character, charismatic, can go in the ring, should be
your top star in original conversation.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
An original Pillar original og Tax Team Champion with Frankie
a now main event sc TNA pay per views. I
I'm as scorpiosk. That's all. I'll just repeat myself.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
It's crazy. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
So a man, it's it's really hard to find women
that are in the mix that haven't won gold.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
Harley Cameron has not.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
She has not.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
She was an honorable she is that was for she's uh,
she's well I outside looking in. Yeah, yeah, she's got
to be up there for mena Jay. Yeah, she hasn't
held gold in anything, right, She's been and she was
on TV this week.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
She's been. She's been in the company for which she just.

Speaker 2 (51:31):
Sort of like disappeared, came back, got killed, like nailed
Meghan Bain and then got no sold.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
That was that was kind of fun.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
I'm not gonna lie, it's Meghan babe.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
What do you can Yeah, Okay, I have nobody else
to add because I can't think of anybody that hasn't
had gold.

Speaker 3 (51:49):
And the people that I have I think of that
I've had gold, have had it.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
R H.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
And I'm confused. So uh, I I love your pillars.
Let's go with that.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
My question where I guess my my statement is I
just kind of love first to know your thoughts on
the Collision venue because we're talking about that, or your
thoughts overall about the Owen.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
But Tyler, the Hurt Syndicate.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
I had to wear my hurt business tea today, but
the Hurt Syndicate turned down MJF once again because of Bob.

Speaker 3 (52:24):
And then Bob got in his face through MGF in
the corner, was busting through his dress shirt just insanely
large arms this man and basically said, if you want
to impress me, you need to hurt people. That's what
we do, hurt somebody to impress me. Tyler, who do
you think MJF is going to hurt in order to

(52:46):
impress Lashly?

Speaker 1 (52:49):
I fear Hangman page is the answer. But the issue,
and I've largely enjoyed the Owen. By the way, a
potential issue I see with it is regarding timing and
how the finals finished several weeks before Doubler. Nothing as
you record, Brad, it's May fourth Doubler. Nothing isn't until
the twenty fifth. So my first inclination is, oh it

(53:12):
has to be Hangman paid storyline. That makes a ton
of sense. But I don't know that we're gonna wait
nearly three plus weeks for MJF to actually do something
dastardly to someone. Maybe he beats up people backstage, and
that's just kind of leading up to the ultimate credo
of he interferes at double or nothing. Let's say cost

(53:33):
hang Man and will Ospray wins. But if my prediction
is true that Athena interferes in the women's final between
Jamie Hater and Mercedes, I don't want to see both
Owen finals and in a nefarious way due to interference.
I'm gonna go with Hangman Page, but I suspect that
it's a bit too obvious of a call. That there

(53:54):
has to be another route, and frankly a more expedient route.
I don't know that it makes sense for him to
attack Hangman Page this week or next week, because we
should be building to Osprey versus Hangman. I'm just confused
that where we're at with the Hurt Syndicate MJF storyline.
I thought they made it clear to him. I'm pretty
sure MGF told him week one, Yo Max the way

(54:17):
to impress these guys is to actually beat people up,
not just the cars or the women, which I don't
know if we really talked about that at length, but
I felt like kind of a relic that that segment.
I just I'm just confused that where we're at. I
love all the ingredients, I love all the parts here,
but where are we going with this storyline? I certainly

(54:38):
hope the means will justify whatever the end is going
to be. I'm gonna stick with hangman page, but I'm
not necessarily saying that with my chest. Unfortunately, I don't
see what the is it gonna attack hologrant? Is that the
hologram program that puts us on the map?

Speaker 3 (54:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:53):
I got nothing. The only thing I can think is
that mgff goes. I know who it's gonna be. It's
gonna be you. Let's go out and then the Pinnacle
reforms or something. Okay, maybe maybe it's uh FTR and
mgf go after all all three guys in the ring, including.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
Can Wardlow pop back up someone else I missed?

Speaker 2 (55:16):
I don't think Wardlow will ever work with mgf ever again. Yeah,
I thought they made that pretty clear. It didn't feel
like a shoot. Well do you remember why he was mad?
I do, and it wasn't because of the pinnacle. It
was because of the I'm not showing up. And it
was Wardlow's big night to win the belting. Yeah, because

(55:37):
people were talking, were talking about the plane tickets and
stuff instead of Wardlow's big night.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
And Wardlow was the most over wrestler in the entire company.

Speaker 3 (55:46):
Yeah, it's a shame.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
It's opportunity and now he's just sort of.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
Gone ish.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
I guess, I don't know. I don't know who else
it would be. The ops are slowly disappearing because of
the death Riders. My thought was like, how cool would
it be for Shana Basler to join in there and
have her and Marina sh if you're start a tag
team together and they they they like released the tag

(56:13):
belts for the women's division, and Tony CON's like, yeah,
we're finally bringing them in, and then the first challengers
are Shena Basler.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
That's over, like it's already somebody's gonna die.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
I think it would be great if people forfeit and
they just win by default because they're too scared to
get in the ring.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
I think that would be awesome.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
It would be an understandable decision.

Speaker 3 (56:32):
I get it, Yes, so that could be really fun.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
But right now it's like I don't I don't know,
I don't know who we attacks hang Man. Hangman feels
like the obvious play. You know, it would be fun,
We've seen it be fun. It could be fun again.
I don't know what the long term payoff would be
there though, right.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
And the Bucks are already feuding with Hangman. It seems
like we're going to get to Bucks versus hang In
and Swerve. That's the ultimate now in this few I
don't know that we should be throwing MJF in there.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
Well maybe and maybe maybe MGF takes him out, hurts him,
costs him the match, and he gets on the mic
and it says, you know, I don't like you, but
I respect you.

Speaker 3 (57:15):
You should know that this is just business.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
And that's when they all give Max the thumbs up,
like that would make sense, And that feels like a
direction that it would be like all right, well and
maybe and maybe the Hurt syndicate becomes more of a
heel faction that way, Maybe that's the way to do it.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
Because it is it does feel like at this MJF.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
Thing, I don't know where it's going with that faction,
but it does make the Hurt Syndicate feel more important
because they're doing something instead of just saying it's business
and beating up Randos like they seem to have stopped
recruiting and.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
They're the champs. By the way, who yes, where are
the contenders? Are we going to get to see these
guys wrestle that's upload out there? I certainly hope we
get a tag team sidle match well.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
And that's why I said, like, if if Max just
forms somebody else, but it's not, I don't, I don't.
I don't know who it is. I just don't know
who it is. Maybe maybe they I don't know, I
don't know. Like this it's it's it's it's as confusing
as the Big Bill stuff with gates of agony, Like
that's all confusing too. Yeah, but I'm excited to see

(58:18):
what happens to play out. When I was watching, I
was like, you know, I walked away with almost no
questions from the show other than like, wow, why did
they like that venue?

Speaker 3 (58:25):
Like that?

Speaker 2 (58:25):
It looked made it look really small? I agree, And
it was small. It was incredibly small. I was thinking
about like collision really rampage, but Rampage sold out the
United Center for CMPUNK twenty thousand people strong to what
looked like maybe two thousand people in a narrow hall

(58:47):
that kind of felt like the Arizona Theater, the Financial Theater,
but like with one level and just not as wide
it was. It was a weird venue that somehow worked
really well for Tony Storm. I thought that whole, that
whole Tony Storm thing was great.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
Every everything works well for Tony Storm these days.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Her like I don't know, from from her dancing in
the ring or working in the ring on dynamite, uh,
to Jamie Hater's music to.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
Uh, how could you not to?

Speaker 2 (59:19):
I'm here and I'm queer out on the balcony to
a bunch of confused people walking by for that little
place right by the water. She's so good, She's so good.
I all I know is that I can't wait to
see this event. I can't wait for double or Nothing Live,
super excited for it. And I'm actually intrigued about this,
like I don't know where it's going. I do think

(59:41):
it's funny that, uh, the recruitment of m J F
into the Hurt syndicate is happening during the owen. Maybe
that's the homage here.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
That maybe that's yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:54):
This might be all it is. I didn't even think
about that.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
That's that's really funny. I really hope they acknowledge it
at some point. But anyway, Tyler, we have a double
feature this week, so we're just gonna get into it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
It's gi At the Movies.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Several different things addition, So go ahead and roll the
music and now.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
It's time for gi At the movie.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
You know what is going to be, specially when we
got a double feature. Okay, Bret, I saw a really
fun movie insitled Sacramento. It's a twenty twenty four American
road comedy film starring Michael and Grano, Michael, Sarah, Kristen Stewart,
and Maya Erskin. The film centers around Ricky and Glenn,
two longtime Y had distant friends played by and Grando

(01:00:46):
and Sarah. The film starts in La before the pair
taking a promptu road trip to Sacktown. Ricky recently lost
his father and Sarah is preparing to become a dad.
The film centers around their friendship and fatherhood and manhood,
and the cast is just spectacular. Admittedly this is no
longer in theaters. It popped up in my Hearkens email,

(01:01:09):
so I think I had a limited run around town,
but now it's available streaming. Actually purchased it for rent
on YouTube. So worth it an original script? You know
how I feel about this. I love when we get
original films. Erskine. The moment I saw her, I said, oh,
my gosh, she looks familiar by the way. I didn't
realize she's Mayor I think married or her partner is

(01:01:31):
in Gerano who co wrote this. So I was like, oh,
connections Hollywood. I have just been so focused on Belichick
and Hudson that I didn't realize there are other Hollywood
couples out here. But she's from Amazon's Mister and Missus Smith.
She plays the opposite to Donald Glover in that series,
which I really enjoyed, and I actually want to check
out more of her filmography and see what else she's
been in. But final reason to convince you and our

(01:01:53):
listeners and viewers to check out this film. I had
no idea before I rented this, Brad. I just saw
the trailer and thought, this looks really fun. I'm going
to check it out. There's a wrestling connection. The artist
formerly known as aj Lee is in this film. Aj
Mendez not only has a cameo, but is a full
blown character in this She plays the role of Yeah.
She plays the role of Ariol, who is heavily featured

(01:02:16):
in this film. I won't give away too much. There's
actually even a wrestling scene with a ring and some
grabs and aj mendes I forget how incredible she is
and how much of a talent. She's a natural on screen.
So highly recommend Sacramento check it out. Well worth again,
not in theaters anymore, at least not in Arizona, but
available for rent, and I think you and our audience

(01:02:36):
would really enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
I'll check it out this week. Then I'll at leastn't
give it a try. I don't know, we'll see how
that goes. I'm I'm certainly going to endeavor to try.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Tyler.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
I checked out a film, kind of a film. It's
a documentary, but it's I don't know how to describe it,
an elongated promo with some clips mixed in. Perhaps Carrion Cross.
Killer Cross released a documentary. It's forty eight minutes long.
It's free on YouTube if you go to the link

(01:03:07):
tree in Carrying Cross. I think it's at the Real
Cross his Twitter handle.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
It is again.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
It's forty eight minutes long and it's awesome. There's just
sort of this there's a killer.

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
There's a murderer.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
There has been a murder ambient hum kind of in
the background through the whole thing. But it's from Vegas
when he was there for wrestling a weekend and it's
just sort of a long form sit down interview mixed
with some promo and there there's stuff where it's like
trying to tell where it's work and where it's shoot.
It's that line is blurred obviously promoting his stuff with

(01:03:49):
blood Sport and going like these people can hurt you,
and I got to go in there and you know
all this stuff and it's like, well, yes, yes, that
is true of all wrestling. So it's it's kind of
easy to go like, all right, well he's selling the
show and you know that these people are badasses.

Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
But that I think people forgot that he is.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
He's a boxer, I believe my trade, and knows how
to fight, really fight, and is incredibly strong.

Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
Grew up in Las Vegas, he's.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
From there, and it's it's great, Tyler. This is so
good to get carry across's work to talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
How he said he was told to leave when he
got released and come back and be undeniable, so he did.
We'll get to it later, pal.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Being undeniable is a lie. All of these things, and
he dropped some things here. He had some great quotes.
I have a few notes. He said, at one point
killer Cross almost came out. We don't let him out again.
And then part of it is about MANI a weekend.
Part of it is about the danger of bloodsport, and

(01:05:02):
then a lot of it is a minibiography. But I
don't know if you saw the very viral quote that
that happened. And I'll just say bleep, so I have
to bleep this in post. The grass is greener on
the other side. Bleep that water. You're bleeping grass. Mow
your lawn, Okay, get some bleeping fertilizer. We stick around.
That's what I do until the grass gets really green,

(01:05:24):
or maybe I bleeping.

Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
Die in the weeds. I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
He also said, I find ways to project what people
want to see, to create moments right. Sometimes they don't
want moments, you know, but I'm in this to create that.
I learned this so I could learn how to create that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
What do I do? What the bleep do I do?

Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
And then at the end it was like he went
viral over Mania Weekend as sort of like an added thing,
and they included that whole post Mania promo that he
did about Logan Paul Media Weekend, the guy in the suit,
all of that stuff so so good. If you have
not checked this out, you have to check out that
presser or just watch The Killer. It's forty eight minutes,

(01:06:06):
really riveting stuff, totally worth the watch. I didn't feel
like any of it didn't need to be there. There
were some points where I'm like, oh, this got a
little bit slow, but it was really just him processing,
and I think it needed to be there. There's some
really cool stuff with interviews with Scarlett off the side,
getting her separate from Cross and just having her talk.

Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
That was really cool.

Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Cannot recommend this enough. I think big things around the
way for this dude. I think people that have been
enjoying him because you and I have been talking about
him forever. His NXT run was legendary, and he brings
that up he said, you know how demoralizing it is
to have people stop you in the street and say, hey,
that thing you used to do was incredible versus what

(01:06:48):
you're doing now, or have you thought about doing this?

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
And he has to lie to them and go like, yeah,
I've thought about that, really really tough. I thought it
was human awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
So if you get if you get about forty eight minutes,
fifty minutes if you count load time of clicking the
link and then.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Starting it, totally worth the watch. I would check it out.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
That's a must. I'm excited. And it sounds like not
only that ground swallow of support from the IWC, it
seems like a lot of the IWC has done a
complete one eight on on Carrion Cross.

Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
They had to you, do you remember what they did
to that man?

Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Yeah, no, exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
It was the Roman thing they made.

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
The bondage, the bondage gear, and yeah, yeah, I'm very happy.
I really enjoyed his work as Killer Cross and CNA,
and it just seemed like it was going to be
such a natural fit for him to head over Towe.
You had Scarlet with him that it sounds like we're
really turning a corner and only bright things are ahead
for another power couple and entertainment as of where That's
been a thread throughout this episode where I'll kind of

(01:07:49):
I kind.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Of like it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Okay, what did we miss? This might be the first
time I'm actually tossing this up here. I got three
notes for you, TNA Rebellion. This was last week from
the University of Southern California. Mike Santana defeated Mustafa Ali
in a fantastic falls count anywhere match. I know I
texted you about this. It is early Match of the
Year candidate for me now. Earlier in the night, Leon

(01:08:13):
Slater had one of the most breathtaking Ultimate X moments
I've ever seen. He jumped off of a really high
post in summary and was not really caught by the
five competitors who were waiting for him on the ground.
It's a whole thing. But he also showed out in
a singles match versus Case Navarro on Impact Live last week.

(01:08:34):
I think Leon Slater is the guy to be thrown
moose and I urge TNA. I'm sure TNA brass is
listening to us. I urge, I urge them to position
Leon Slater as a centerpiece of the company. He is
that dude. He is that good and I can't wait
to see him become the next ex Division champion. Secondly,

(01:08:55):
Skype is coming to an end after fifteen years. Soft
is reworking it within its team feature. This could be
the biggest bag fumble in the history of bad Zoom
just came in and said, all right, thanks for getting
this warmed up, but we got this. We got it.

(01:09:15):
So that's that's the thing. Skyt only fifteen years though
they've been around long gractually, but apparently it's only been
since twenty ten. And then finally Brad Winchester. This could
be a case of saving the best for last. Asia
Wilson's highly anticipated debut sneaker drops on Tuesday at seven
am via the Nike app or Nike dot Com. I'm

(01:09:35):
setting a reminder on my phone this will happen. I'm
very excited for a new season of The w to
get underway this month, and I think Asia Wilson is
really going to benefit not only from Nike finally investing
in her and debuting the sneaker, but also because the
Aces and Asia Wilson in general as the reigning MVP,
are totally going under the radar, and I think she's

(01:09:58):
going to prove people wrong for sleeping on her so
the sneakers dope. And I think she's in line for
another great season in the w Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
I'm actually studying a reminder for that too. I can't wait. Man, Okay,
I have a few things.

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Big Bill beat the ever living crap out of an
engineering chair in a parking lot for absolutely no reason,
right before a random extra showed up and got killed
by both Big Bill and the Gates of Agony out
in the parking lot. Ar Fox ate another pin after
we talked about it last week.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
This band does not win. This band gets pinned in
aew He didn't even lose the match. He took the pin.
I thought that was a choice they made.

Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
And finally, on Netflix, Conan O'Brien's Mark Twain for the
American Humor Award was awesome. It was really funny but
also really heartwarming. Tyler, you don't probably know this about me,
but like I grew up watching the heck out of
Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
It was a must.

Speaker 2 (01:10:57):
It was get the Rabbit Ears tuned for Letterman so
I could watch Conan afterward down in my basement during
the summer when it was way too hot to be upstairs,
I had to sleep in the basement to cool off.
No air conditioning there, you know, like those those balmy
hot nights of eighty degrees maybe at the highest. We're
a real struggle for us up there.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
I got to relive a whole bunch of my childhood
watching that. The clips were great. I forgot.

Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
I forgot how many things they did, and I can't
believe they got away with it on TV. Absolutely awesome.
I don't think I have anything.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Else it was.

Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
It was a big week all over wrestling. We talked
about a lot we could go. We could go another
hour just talking about releases.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
Yeah, we could. And I think this is correct me if
