Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now Jimmage Infringemen.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome everybody to the Gimmick Infringement Podcast. I am Brad
Winchester and with me, as always is my tag team
partner Tyler McDowell Blank and I remember this time, Tyler,
we are not alone. We are joined once again by
a very special guest. How you doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Doing great? I'm so happy to be able to join
y'all in full so we can have a nice full
edition of Gimmick Infringement. You know, I consider myself to
be the third the third member of the gi at
the Gimmick Infringement Crew, so I'm glad to have both
you and Tyler and me in the middle so we
can make a nice traffic sandwich.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Tyler, Okay, I'm gonna see my coffee.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Well, I just want to reiterate, Brad is great to
see you number one. Also, we're so thankful that the
host of the Salty Thoughts of Mike Steph podcast is here.
As you just heard, Mike Steph is in the building. Mike,
We're so happy that you're back.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
We have a lot to get into on this episode.
Of course, we're going to discuss wwe we're going to
discuss aw in preparation for Double or Nothing weekend pop
culture Talk. Mike, I think the only way to start
this conversation is in celebration of your New York Knicks.
(01:36):
They did it for the first time in twenty five years. Yes,
they're heading to the Eastern Conference Finals. I think, Brad,
we got to start with a vibe check. Mike, Steph,
how are you feeling? And is this the year that
the Knicks get over the hump and not just return
to the ECF, but return to the NBA Finals.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I do believe so. I'm I'm cortioually optimistic because while
we're in the Eastern Conference Finals, I'm not gonna lie.
I want to be a little bit greedy. I want
to get to the finals. We owe the Indiana Paces
a beating from last year. I think we have all
the pre records of parts to do so. You know,
(02:21):
we have Captain Crunch himself, Jalen Brunson, We have the
Bodega cat called Anthony Towns. If he plays like he
played in Game six, I think that'd be a that
would be a great upgrade to what we had last year.
Last year, Indiana corters shorthanded and I'm not using that
as an excuse, but by the time we got to
(02:42):
Game seven, we was missing Jalen Brunson, Julius Randall, Mitchell Robinson,
og Ananobi, Josh Harp. We lost literally out our start
in five, did not finish Game seven. So now since
we're pretty much like pretty um, we have one hundred
percent healthy going into this series. I don't there's nobody
(03:04):
that's left in the playoffs Indiana, Oka, See Denver, Minnesota.
There's nobody in the playoffs that I look at and like, oh,
that's a mountain that we can't climb. So yeah, I'm
fully engaged. I'm fully enthusiastic and Tato Trup my official
prediction is Nixon six.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
I prediction, Brad.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I think you're hitting this with a with a mister
t there my prediction pain my favorite of all time.
It's such a great but looks right into the camera
for it. Oh, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I think I think Mike's giving that vibe as well.
I think he's just understood that he's predicting pain for
the Indiana fan base.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, predicting, predicting if we're onto predicting Tyler, Mike, if
we're predicting things. The basketball playoffs are here and the

The defending Stanley Cup champs are on the brink. We
(05:28):
could be looking at like a Canada team winning for
the first time in what like fifty years or something
forty some years. Canada has not won a Stanley Cup
in forever. It's a It's an underreported story in all
of sports because we get we forget that hockey's really
a thing, even though ESPN is doing a good job
promoting the sport. I implore people that have not watched
(05:48):
the Stanley Cup playoffs to give it a chance, because
the Stanley Cup playoffs are a lot of fun. Otherwise,
I even struggle watching regular season hockey. It's it's it's
different in person. But of all that, we got plenty
to get into here, Tyler, Mike, I know we got
to get into WWE talk. I know we have questions.
I know Tyler's going to bring us a question here,
(06:11):
but as per our tradition, I know we have to
do first. Tyler. I know that it's time for stuff.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Wow. And that's not even in anticipation to be coming
on the double on time.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, Steph, I care, Mike Steff, Oh wow, this was
the perfect debut. Brad Winchester. You've done it again.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
You're a genius.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
I'm speechless.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
I don't know you.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
In the production meeting, I had a surprise for you.
I did not tell this is a shoot. Tyler had
no idea this was coming. Nobody knew what was coming.
I had a moment this morning. It was a lot
of fun.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Okay, Okay, I'm brow well, Mike, Steph is my tag
partner laid out for you. Some things have changed since
you've last been on g I. Okay, the two most
important words on this year podcast Steph watching and and
she is the focus of my question. So here you go.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Are NXT Women's Champion Stephanie Bacerra team with number one
contender Jordan Grace on Tuesday's NXT They handled fatal Influence
fairly easily. Given how well we've seen Vaker translate with
the main roster audience, would her dropping the title to
Grace at Battleground on Sunday be the best move for business?
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Mike Steffan, Wow, that's a that's a good question because,
as you say, we've seen her transition to raa the
last couple of weeks, actually since post WrestleMania, almost on
a weekly basis, she's been not even a focal point
of Raw, but pretty much she's been uh in the
best match of Raw that that that match again, her
(08:00):
and Io was a good one. The tag match with yeah,
matter of fact, yeah, her EO was a great one.
So the answer that question, you would think it's time
for her to drop the belt so she can move
up full time, especially and hopefully I'm not getting too
ahead of myself, but especially with the call up of
(08:24):
Julia on this past week on SmackDown, you would think
that they would have for or Roar because that's where
she's been established already. But I firmly think that her
staying at NXT at least until the end of the
summer to legitimate. I wouldn't say solidify the women's division
(08:48):
down there, but Jordan Grace, it's time for her to
take the mantle. So you don't want to have her
lose lose too many times, cause remember last year she
did while she was still with TNA. She did go
after the NFT Championship when Roxanne was holding the title,
So you don't want her to come up short too
many times. But I just don't think it's matter of fact,
(09:12):
I'll split the bitch like I'll split the middle like this.
Jordan can win, She can win the title, but I
think Stephanie should not immediately be called up right then
let her tie up her loose ends, maybe for another
month or so, if anything, maybe put over talent, put
(09:32):
over somebody else on her way back up beside Jordan,
and that's where it goes. So to answer your question,
I wouldn't want to see her lose the goal, but
at the same time, Jordan can't afford to come up
short again. So yeah, I think Jordan's probably gonna walk
away with the championship.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I I kind of I agree that she's gonna walk
up with the championship. I don't know that she'll get
called up yet. She's been, she's been everywhere and wrestling
a lot. It's a little early, but I don't think
it's super early that. I think her call up happens
when they're like, we got a mystery person entering the Mattress.
(10:13):
Maybe somebody gets injured and she makes her main roster
debut Saturday, June seventh, twenty twenty five. That's I think
that's the one, right, Like, have her show up at
Money in the Bank run and and now maybe Julia
is in that match. Maybe that's her one of her
first things that she does. Now you have that stand
off that happens, plus you have you already have these
(10:35):
connections throughout with Stephanie already meeting up with main roster
folks people in the rumble, Like, it just makes sense
to have her go in there and have some moments
and then throw her in a match like that. She'd
be a perfect fit. Hell, I'd love it if she
walked away with holding the briefcase. I think that would
be dope. Like that would be that would be what
(10:56):
I would do. But I could also see that being
a really good sort of a rival moment, which I
don't know that she really has because so much stuff
has happened since her arrival. For Julia. She debuted in
n XT. It was a huge moment. They waited eight
seconds to debut Stephanie vau Kier, and then it just
became like, oh, we got all these moving parts and
(11:16):
then her sort of I don't say she had her thunderstolen,
but like she sort of got overshadowed by all of
this stuff that was happening that I think people forgot
how ridiculously talented she is. And then she had I believe,
an injury for a while, so it just sort of
took the wind out of her sales a little bit.
And I think that could be really good for Julia.
(11:38):
But I also want Stephanie Vauchcare up there as soon
as possible so that she gets a wider audience, a
wider appeal, and eventually we get to see her in
main events, and man, I'm so excited and in Tiler,
I'm so happy for you and your picture behind you.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
I would to you both.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I okay, So I love the vision that you laid out, Brad.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
You put it perfectly.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Money in the bank as a mystery opponent, let's say,
would make so much sense. I don't think Steph is
dropping the title this weekend, and part of me is
factoring in, Okay, this summer. I believe in June you
have that World's Collide show NXT versus Triple A at
at Kia Kia Forum in La I would assume Steph
(12:24):
is gonna be a big part of that. Not saying
she needs the title to win in that card. Yeah,
not saying she needs the title to be on that card.
But I don't see her dropping until later this summer.
For whatever reason, Jordan Grace has been built up, Mike,
you said it. She's been a fixture of sorts on
NXT for over a year now. You give a shout
(12:44):
out to that match with Roxanne. The NXC fan base
is known about her is like the worst but the
worst kept secret in NXT that she was eventually going
to go there once your Tama contract ended. I don't
think this is the time that they pulled the trigger
on Stephanie losing. I would predict that Jordan will be
the successor. It's a lot premera, But I don't think
(13:06):
that happens in Tampa this weekend at Battle. I don't
think it's going to be the right time. I think
we're gonna wait until at least July or August. Steph
is ready to go, as you guys both laid out,
But I'm predicting she retains this weekend. She debuts officially
as a member of the main roster closer to the fall.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I think that a lot will depend on whether or
not Mariah may shows up. She's working without a contract
right now. She's a no brainer signing for WWE. I
like her in AW and I'd rather see her there,
But I can also see her going and doing really
cool things in WWE. I think that's a lot of
a lot of women's talent to put on the roster
(13:49):
where I don't know that they're utilizing women's talent very
effectively right now anyway, on the main roster, not overall.
I mean, like when they do they do great, and
when they don't, they do really they they do nothing,
I obviously really poorly. They just don't do anything at all.
So I guess I guess wait and see. I would
love to see it. Well, Brad, correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
That's always kind of perpetually been a concern for you
and I, and I would also include Mike in that
conversation about Okay, we have our favorites in NXT. This
is going all the way back to the black and
Gold days. Grants that we're in a different era now,
but there's always that low key concern of Okay, it's
great right now, they're a centerpiece of NXT, but when
they move to Mondays or Fridays, does anything change? Is
(14:33):
it going to be a seamless transition. You have a
seamless transition for let's say Kevin Owens, for example, immediately
in the feud I believe with John Cena for I
want to say us title at that time, but for
so many other talents it hasn't necessarily been that immediate. Okay,
they're a big deal in the next and then they're
also a big deal on the main roster. So I worry,
(14:56):
even though all the signs are there that Steph is
going to translate. Admittedly, worry about Okay, she is a
face of this brand, which I correctly predicted Mike, Steph,
I'm right on ten percent of my predictions. Steph, this
is in writing given confrigement pod dot com. Truly is
I told people Stepha care was going to be a face,
the face of wrestling on the CW. It came true.
(15:17):
I just worry that she's such a big deal in
XT right now. I just to your point, Brad, I
don't want her to get lost in the shuffle if
she moves over to Mondays or Fridays.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Well, you know what, that's why we do this. That's
why we always make sure we have.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Okay, hit me with your w W question or was
that your w W question?
Speaker 3 (15:41):
What do we got? B WE question?
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I'm satisfied now, thank you both.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I I just I don't know. I'm just gonna Mike,
you got a question? Or are you on our.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Well Bike's notes, Yeah, yeah, trust.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
The old notes, embrace the mess, Okay, I have.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
My question is concerning the debut this past well this
past week at Backlash and the official debut this passed
Friday on SmackDown of the former Jeff Cabb now going
as j C. Matteo. Now he's being input it into
a like a a situation where between him, Solo Socoa
(16:34):
and Jacob fatsu in whatever's left the remnants of the bloodline.
Now this is twofold one and it's a little bit joking,
but one, have we come to the part of the
bloodline saga if we can even term that as a
part that anybody can gain entry into the bloodline just
(16:57):
by looking the part you know you had, okay, first
it was all simoens right, and you know Tanga Loa
and Tomatanga. Matter of fact, it's Tomatanga? Is he is
he missing? Is he? Is he gonna milk Carton somewhere?
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I mean we got j C. Toma Tonga know where
to be found, but doesn't need to hear there. Number one,
now we're getting to the part of UH. Now South Pacific.
You look the part. Matter of fact, prior to that,
we had an Australian Bronton Reed in the bloodline. He
looked apart and hopefully I think Bronson Reed should be
(17:37):
coming coming back soon. He should be upon his return.
So that's gonna be inter into dynamic. Are they gonna
reassert him that or was that just a war games
UH scenario? But J C. Matteo. First of all, how
do you think his debut went? Do you think he
looks the part? Do you think, uh, is that gonna
(17:59):
be his wrestling attire or that was just because it
was the impromptum nature of the match. And two, how
many more people they're going to pry to bring in
on bloodline? Are we gonna get the son to see
the AFI any anytime soon? You know? I mean, I'm
just saying this. A lot of them did. I think
Jacob got seven? So that's my long question. And I
(18:22):
actually got a follow up after that, but that's my
long question.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
He was he was born in Honolulu. He represented Guam
in the Summer Olympics. I did not know that he
was forty two years old. Yes, that that surprised me.
He's he was born two months after I was, less
than two months after I was July eleventh. He Yeah,
(18:48):
he looks the part. I don't think his ring attire
is going to look like that. They're probably trying to
figure that out right now. How do you fit it
in there? I think it's I think it's a strange fit,
but it makes I mean, it makes sense for for
having a guy that looks like that. With that size
and stuff, being like another enforcer, but like you already
kind of have those things, so how do you switch
(19:09):
it up. I'm excited to see what he does, so
I don't I don't mind him being in there. I
thought he he outshined Solo, which maybe that was the point.
But Tyler and I talked about this last week. But
it's just like the worry about the rest of the
Bloodline two point zero being just overshadowed by Jacob Faughtu,
(19:31):
And now you have somebody like Jeff Cobb, who is
not quite as charismatic a figure as as Jacob Fatu,
but I think certainly outshines a lot of the other
guys that are in that group that might end up
overtaking them, just in terms of just sheer presence. Dude
is he's got an interesting look. He's he's just like
(19:54):
kind of a truck out there. But I also, to
your Bronze and Reid point like, yeah, what do you
do with him? But I also Jeff Cobb versus sorry
JC versus Bronson Reed at some point is going to
be earthquake worthy. I'm I'm I'm ready for that all
day long. So I don't know I thought the debut
(20:17):
was it is what it was. It's it was good,
it was fine. It wasn't like blow my mind away.
But I don't like the let's just put him in
there because they look a certain way. That's kind of
what I feel like it is. We were talking before
we started here. It's how I feel about the LWO,
where you have like the Mexican flag colors, but then
(20:39):
you have people that aren't Mexican in the LWO. It
just sends a weird message where it's like, oh, you're Latin,
that must mean your Mexican. Okay, tell that Doeslina, who's
pretty famously not so. Yeah. So it's it's very very strange,
but also like I don't really care because if they
(21:00):
come out and do a problem, like we're just collecting
the best or people that have similar backgrounds and similar upbringings.
We know that he knows what it's like to grow
up on an island and to have to have to
feel like you're outside of everything because you're trapped in
the middle of this little circle out floating on the
giant pond. So I don't know, something like that, you
can pretty easily stretch it in to go like no
(21:21):
islanders stick together. We grew up with surrounded by water.
We're always surrounded by enemies from every side, so it's
us against them, and he was looking for people that
understood him, and that's why we asked him to be
a part of the bloodline. Problem solved. Everybody's on board.
But right now, the way it looks is ugh, it's
it's not great, but it's also I'm going I don't care.
(21:43):
I want to see Jeff Cobb in WW and see
what he does, so hopefully, hopefully we figure it out
over time. I don't like to have to keep going like, yeah,
let's let it play out. When it comes to stuff
like this, when it's not a great look, I don't
want to let it play out. I need to know,
like right away. It's different than when it's like, oh,
the storyline needs to play out. Let's see where this
is going. This is like, so why is he here
(22:04):
in that group? In particular, I'm confused because I this
isn't this isn't a situation of Owen Hart. I'm just
gonna leave it at that. I'm just gonna move on, Tyler, Tyler,
Owen Harley, what are your.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Thoughts well, I want to know, you know, you know,
I want to start by saying I have not thought
about backlash since last week's recording. So Mike's Steph, how
dare you?
Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:40):
How dare you?
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Mike? No?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
The issue, so the issue was always going to be
what do we do with the blood line after after
we do away with the after the Ulafalla match, right
so after Netflix January sixth, what do we do following that?
With this group? I was always concerned that Solo Sokowa
(23:01):
was going to come off as a chump and just
be several notches down. He was not going to be
a priority after this, which I think is a major,
major blind spot for the company. So now we know
there's there's no chance they're going to get to where
they were before. Okay, totally understand that, but how do
we freshen this up? Bringing in the artists formally known
(23:23):
as Jeff Cobb. I'm here for it, Brad, you said it.
Super happy for the guy who's been grinding. You know,
I remember discovering him all the way back in Luca
Underground days as the monster Matanza and the work he
did there, and you know, kind of being the villain
in Luca underground for a long time, so just happy
for him right off rip. But then secondly, it was
(23:45):
needed that we have some new wrinkle in this Bloodline
story to ensure that it's you know, not on life
support heading into summer. So I'm here for it. But
I agree with what you said, Brad, and that, Okay,
the move seems to be We're going to Aventu get
j C. Matteo versus Jacob Fatu, and of course Solo
(24:06):
so CoA versus Jacob Fatu. I would argue that the
move should be Solo is the one who defeats Jacob,
and then after that Jacob clearly is going for the
main title either on Mondays or Fridays, and in Solo
we can ideally revamp some of what he had previously
(24:26):
if he is the guy to beat Jacob. So I'm
here for it, Mike. I'm gonna stay, as you would say,
going back to our other conversation about the Knicks, I'm
gonna stay cautiously optimistic, but I certainly have concerns about
the presentation for all the all the reasons Brad said.
But if this is gonna end up with Solo so
CoA getting back some of that Seane I'm here for.
(24:47):
I think it's imperative.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
I have one thing to add concern is Solo. I
believe this last Friday promo with him and Jacob was hilarious.
He showed a part of his personality that I wish
they would have showed when it mattered most, instead of
having him trying to be the stoic, serious killer guy
(25:09):
went because once he became the focal point of Bloodline
two point zero, that was the time to show his personality.
That was not the time for them to keep him
so serious and so stoic and so quote unquote Vonna
in his face. He just like Roman finally showed his
personality when he was the lead dog at the beginning
(25:32):
of the Tribal Chief. What we saw Friday, even though
it was more comedic, I think that would have allowed
Solo to branch out further than where he's currently at. Now.
Did y'all know what I mean? And all that stuff
and asking Jacob what was that the thing you used
to say? You know, say it? And then Jacob acting
(25:53):
like he's code switching. I love him, so it was
so hilarious. But I think if they can tap into
that then they can have something to salvage for Solo.
So if Solo is the person to beat Jacob and
get the rug from beating Jacob, which is ironic because
you would think that Jacob received the rug from being
(26:15):
called up into the bloodline, but in the actuality, Jacob's
gonna be the one that gives Solo the rug. Then
Jacob go his way. Solos which has his personality, has
has something, has a you know, a sounding board you
know for him, a foundation for him to go forward.
And everybody, everybody needs to met. So so yeah, yeah,
(26:38):
that that was. That was That was like I said,
that was that was? That was lovely. I loved that one.
I loved it. I watched that little clip on YouTube
to probably about five ten times. I'm like, did he
just wow? That was hilarious. Yeah, that was good.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Sold did the emo in the ring that Jacob emode
and this is okay, this is this is this has
legs literally this this could this could be something fun. No,
I'm here for it. I'm consciously optimistic that they needed
something here, and Jacob thought to beating l a night
at WrestleMania clearly was the right call. He's as hot
as anyone in the company. I'm very optimistic about what
(27:15):
this could lead to.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
La Hogan read and right like, con don't be.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Putting don't don't be putting that on on l A.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
That's that's that's crazy feeling connotation there.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
I'm gonna have to hear LA's voicemails now, like I
need to now, I got now, I got some new
questions after that. Okay, uh transition Julia SmackDown. We talked
about this simple question, guys, who do you want to
see for her first viewed Tyler. Let's let's start with you.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Wow, she's on SmackDown now. As we mentioned earlier, a
great look for her. I'm glad and Brad you being
the resident Julia super fan on this show, I'm so
glad that it's now evident for folks. No, Julia is
a big deal. She's great at.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
This and coming out of that room.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, and she's a priority first feud man, so I
would love for her.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
In my ideal world, Chelsea Green is the person to
beat Zelena for the US title, and she gets her
title back and the secret Harvest is up and all
this ride in the world Mike. Shout out to Mike
Steph's wardrobe today, shout out to our YouTube viewers. But
if it's not Chelsea to dethrone Zelena, Julia has to
(28:41):
be the number one candidate. I don't want to mess around.
I don't want to waste time. Julia should be here
for gold and if not Chelsea Green, she should be
the one to dethrone Zelena. So first big feud, I'm
going I'm going straight for Julia versus Alena.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
What's you, Mike? I agree, just for the fact that
baby faces. I don't think you slow her directly into
the world title field w field right yet with Tiffany,
I think Tiffany has a couple of opponents lined up
already that should last her and leasten to the SummerSlam.
(29:19):
But on the face side, now, Julius, okay, now, one
big question. Did Julia coming in as a face or
she's gonna continue that? Heal Forsona? Yeah, it is. But
then at the same time you look around and all right,
the only person really that's available for her to go
against whoop be Selina. You know, because you have you
(29:44):
have you have alexibilists.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
With the belt. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I think Alexa Bliss and Charlotte something's going on there.
I think they're gonna end up. They're gonna end up
fighting each other. I don't think it's gonna be a partnership.
I think it's something's gonna blow up there. So you
take Alessa out the way. Well, the faces are there,
you know, I mean, uh, Jada's Jada's is occupied with Naomi.
(30:10):
Like I said, Tiffany is probably occupied with Naomi and
Jade and Naya. So yeah, I think it's Elena Delena
just by by by you know, process of elimination, and
you want to slot her in a way that she's
not undercard because she's a former NXT champion. You know,
you have all the accolades coming from coming from stardom
(30:31):
and so forth, so you're gonna bring up it's a
big deal. You don't want her to be lost in
the shuffle especially, and I don't want to come over
wrong a bad way. But she's going and she doesn't
have a mouthpiece, and she's not gonna be promo heavy.
Then you need to slot her where you want her
(30:53):
to be. You don't want her to have to you
want you don't want to have to build her up
because for years, when EO came on the Maine roster,
literally she had a mouthpiece, she had Bailey, she had
the Coda, and she would say her little bit bit
bits and pieces. Then when she got to the point
that popularity was overwhelming, now they can remove that and
just let EO be ill. You need that for Julia,
(31:16):
so yeah, put a belt on her, you know, and
and and let her rot. So yeah, I think Jelena
would be right.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Yeah, right now. I think that that's if we're gonna
have a feud. I think it's either gonna be Easilena
or it's gonna be one of the two women that
you mentioned. But but it might also be whatever happens
in the ring at money in the Bank is what
comes out of that is the first real program that
she does with somebody. It could also be returning Oscar.
(31:44):
We don't know if she's coming back, when she's coming back,
if she's healthy yet. I know she was she was
down with an injury or another health concern. I'm not
exactly sure what's going on there, but I know she
has been out. I think the plan is to return,
but I don't know or again maybe keep bringing her up,
but maybe maybe Mariah bypasses NXT, if she gets called
(32:07):
up or hired by WWE, goes straight into the WWE.
You have people that have already worked together instantly. Great
look great, look that'll draw like you know, the match
is gonna be hard hitting. I don't know what will
happen there. I hope something happens there. If Marima in
fact goes to WWB and doesn't stay with AW, I
(32:31):
think that would be a great one to do. I
just don't know if it would work in WWE, because
I don't know how many people know who Mariah may
is that are casual fans that are you know, how
many people are watching both products, are doing it consistently,
that kind of thing. But Osca and Julia would be awesome.
If it's let's get her into a title picture right away,
(32:52):
then all right, money in the bank. She wins, cash
is in on Tiffany. But maybe she doesn't went like
at an inopportune moment for Tiffany. Maybe she just goes,
we're fighting Monday, or we're fighting Friday or whatever. I'll
see you there. Here's the contract. I'm gonna I'm gonna
knee your face right off your head and that'll be
(33:14):
the end of it. And she does it, and then
she just takes the belt and walks out champion like
goes in, gets business handled, looks at the camera, holds
up the belt, and just walks out of the ring.
I could see that happening too, because it would be
like a giant like, holy crap, that just happened. Now
what does Tiffany do? And now we have an interesting
point for her. So there's there's all kinds of stuff
that could happen here. I'm excited to see what happens.
(33:36):
I'm pumped at Julia is there. I hope she doesn't
get put in a program and then lose right away.
I don't think they'll do that, but I just worry
about it.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
A little bit. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yes, yes, that'll be amazing. I think it would be amazing.
And and fellas speaking of amazing, I got to go
to a movie for the first time by my choosing
like a movie. I was like, I want to see this. No,
it wasn't Sinners. I still haven't been able to go.
We still haven't been able to work it out. But
I got to go see Thunderbolts. I took the family,
(34:14):
play the music, let's talk about it's GI at the movies,
and now it's time for GI after a movie. Okay,
so full disclosure, big Marvel Mark. I love me some
Marvel movies. Even the bad ones are still Marvel movies.
(34:35):
It's I had a conversation with my buddy Might climb
In back in the early two thousand's, late nineties, somewhere
around that, whenever Jurassic Park three came out. We were
going to the movies. We were watching all these different things,
and we like to go see really good films. We're like,
all right, this movie is coming out, we got to
go check this out. And we had a conversation about
(34:58):
Jurassic Park three, and it was this movie's gonna suck.
It's gonna be so bad, but who cares dinosaurs? Like
That was one of those so I don't go into
Marvel movies expecting high art. I go in expecting to
be entertained, to get a story out of it that
makes sense, and then just be like, oh, that was
really cool, that was fun. I'm not gonna go home
(35:18):
and just spend the next eight hours thinking about life.
I'm gonna go like, oh, that was really cool. This
movie got me thinking about life and it was also
really cool. The main antagonist of the film is Century,
who is a created superhero that's sort of godlike and unkillable,
(35:39):
and they have a This character has an alter ego
that is sort of the opposite. This person struggles with
mental illness, always has had a rough childhood, and when
the mental illness side kind of wins out, the character
twists and becomes the Void. And it's a pretty in
your face metaphor, right, Like they're not trying to hide
(36:00):
any of the symbolism in this movie, and they never have,
but I loved it in that like what happened is
like no, it's easier for all of you to just
let go, and he becomes this overwhelming darkness that starts
taking over the city. I can't spoil a lot, but
it's great. All the characters that are the heroes in
the story are it's there. It's Marvel's version of the
(36:21):
Suicide Squad kinda, only it's not we're taking all the villains.
We're just taking these like sort of anti hero characters,
putting them together in a team. And they've been throughout Marvel.
They've been in the television shows, so Yolena, Black Widow Sister,
the Red Guardian for the Black Widow movie, Bucky, the
(36:42):
Winter Soldier, ghost from ant Man, and task Master from
the Black Widow movie. And we also got the US
Soldier who was in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier
who was sort of a we're going to replace Captain
America now that he's gone, he's the new Captain America.
But he ends up like just losing it and kills
(37:04):
a dude and he's not like a good guy. But
great complex characters throughout, like they're the most interesting characters
probably currently in Marble. And the end of the movie
sets up spoiler. The post credits scene sets up the
next movie. They tease the Fantastic Four. The Thunderbolts title
(37:24):
fellas was always Thunderbolts with an asterisk next to it.
And this is a spoiler. It was spoiled before I
watched the movie because they were putting it on social media.
The font had kind of progressively changed for the logo.
I had noticed it because I'm obsessed with this stuff,
but it was Thunderbolts asterisk, Thunderbolts asterisk. It's the New Avengers.
(37:48):
The title of the movie is actually the New Avengers,
and by the end of it they're called the New
Avengers post credits. Trust me, it's a great storyline because
you're like, wait a second, they're not the Avengers. You're right,
they're the New Avengers, not the Avengers. The Avengers are
a separate group. They're the New Avengers. And there's like
consternation there and and Sam suing them for for licensing. Guys,
(38:13):
this movie is is so good. It had me going like,
this is really emotional. I really care about this character.
The character's name for century, the guy is just He's
just Bob. Bob, He's just Bob. It's so dope. Please
check it out if you get a chance. It was
totally worth every second. Best Marvel movie in years. I
(38:37):
don't I don't have anything else to say. That's that's
really negative. Like if you're going into it again expecting
high art, you're not getting it. If you're going to
go in to go like this is sort of a
redemption story with a lot of like hope in it
despite it being really gritty and really dark. Did not
I brought I brought Free to see Spider Man. No
(38:57):
way home and I was like, Oh, she can do that,
she can do this, this will be fine. This won't
be that dark darker. Whoops. Probably a bad idea, but
she got through it. She was like, Oh, that was
really cool, and she was pumped for Fantastic four. Sorry,
I just wanted to let that hold drive by pumped
(39:18):
for Fantastic four. Uh, pump for this really dope film.
If you like Marvel movies, go check it out. If
you're just into Redemption arcs, I'd say check it out,
but you're gonna be lost if you don't know these characters.
They're still easy to root for, and they still do
a good job of connecting the threads throughout. I think
it was great. Check it out if you get a chance.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
The trailer looks fantastic. I know nothing about the context
of what's happening, but it looks great. Brad, you just
affirmed that for us and Mike Steph.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
I'm I'm hooked. A ticket has been sold.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
For me, Well, I'm I'm other thought. Wait for stuff
to come out on streaming, so as soon as they
hit fifty plus.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
I want to, like, I want to go. It's so
hard to make it happen that like even my apologies,
my apologies to everybody involved with Captain America. It's that
Memphis back.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
All right.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
I'm going to fight someone this week that lives in
my neighborhood who drives that car or motorcycle or whatever.
I'm going to get a stick space space right through
the spokes. We'll see. Well, we're gonna go old school
on that stick's probably gonna break, but it'll be worth it.
Moving on, embracing the mass. Let's talk, aw Tyler, what
do you got.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Let's get into it. And if you saw Thunderbolts by
the way, let us know here on YouTube in the comments.
We're across social media, namely on x and on Instagram
at gipod nineteen, hit us up. Let us know if
you agree with Brad or if you have a different
po V. Guys, I need your POV on my aw question.
(41:01):
So clearly Thunderbolts was excellent. I hope AW double or
nothing is excellent because Brad, we will be in the
building for this. All of the wrestling is making its
Arizona Paton.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
I can't wait debut.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
I can't believe it's already here. Okay, I'm gonna get
straight to the point. Several matches were added to the
card over the last week as we anticipated, including Ricochet
versus Mark brisco in a stretcher match. Last week, we
obviously went hard on the Owen talk. I'm sure we're
going to discuss the Owen Cup at length on our
(41:35):
next episode, but I want to ask you guys about Ricochet.
What do you think is the ideal use of him
in aw this summer and beyond.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Oh, Brad, yeah, you can lead this off.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
I was so scared that you're gonna take my question
that the backup started rattling off the matches. So I
was like, you've got to be kidding me. No, No,
to answer your question, I have no clue. The only
thing I want for him is to be in the
main title picture. I want to see him put on
like classics. Give me, give me something meaningful for Ricochet
(42:22):
to do that is not this. I think it's gonna
be fun. I think him and he and Mark Briscoe
are going to have a fun match, Like it's gonna
be great. Like I'm not all that invested in this
at all, but I know what I'm about to watch
is going to be dope as hell, So I would
(42:46):
like to see him in there with with with Hangar
or with Kenny or I don't know, Halograham like having
Ricochet in there with with somebody like that or Ricochet
Samoa would be fun having that juxtaposition of styles, especially
with Joe winding down his career. I would love to
(43:07):
see something like that help Rickochet and somebody else who
got added to the card. Nigel McGuinness would be fun.
So there could be like a whole bunch of different
things that you could do here. But I don't know
what the right answer is. I really like his current character.
His current character's awesome. Heal Ricochet, that's just like super
Weasily has been so much fun to watch. I've loved it.
(43:31):
Other people are like, it's not you owe everything that
wwe and it's like why are you what? Like why
are no? Like? This is great what he's doing over here?
He was doing nothing over there, so yeah, get out
of here with that. He was coming out and he
was and then getting squashed, right.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
I think I meant to look up the numbers, but
I didn't because I'm going to say this with my chest,
which projects confidence. I think Ricochet has already had more singles,
pay per view matches in aw then his entire main
roster run. It's wild, It's it's it's incredible. We know
how I feel about Ricochet, Like Steph Ricochet, Do you
(44:10):
want him because he's kind of been adjacent to the
elite and their nefarious business? Do you do you see
that for him? Do you want him to continue, like
Brad said, being this Weasley heel on his own chasing
the main title. Can I interest you in Adam Cole
versus Ricochet for the t NT Championship run that feedback
going back to that days? Where where do you want
(44:32):
to see? Where do you want to see him best
utilized this summer?
Speaker 3 (44:35):
And I want him to be utilized in something that's
that's tangible. I don't want him just to be also ran.
It's like he had he had to run with Swerve.
Swerve is still in the main mix, and Ricochet's on
the side doing gimmick matches with UH with Briscoe, you know,
and that's and that's not and that's not any shade
(44:57):
to a brisco But Bristol is not a main Evanda.
He's not in the main mix. He's not going for
a title. He's like, all right, he has this slot,
He'll have an entertaining match. He never has a bad match.
He'll get through crowd into it. He's a solidified fan favorite.
Fine Ricochet, I think for the work that he's put in,
especially from the beginning, and he made that pivot of Okay,
(45:20):
this is not gonna work. You know what, I'm gonna
come up with this character. I'm going to come up
with this to get me some more gramatized than They
need to utilize that, like, uh, the six man match
with him and him and the Elite they they played
off each other. He needs to have some type of
association with that. Maybe they should, you know, even though
(45:41):
they have this MGS step storyline or whatever, maybe they
can circle back to, Oh yeah, y'all rejected me before,
but that was the old Ricochet. Now I'm coming back
from revenge on y'all, something like that.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
I got my I got my gold cheers with me.
I heard people, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
Like he showed that vie on inside, right, So wouldn't
that witn't even though he's the chicken ish heel, wouldn't
he still want some type of revenge for how the
hurt business well, the Hurt Syndicate treated him, They treated
him like a joke that said, now get out of here,
and that kind of causing the snap. That was the
impetus for in the snap. So therefore circled around to that,
(46:22):
you know. So, I mean, that's that's my that's my
short answer on what I went for Rickette. I want him.
I want him to actually matter, you know. So if
that has something to do with him going with Adam
Cole for the CNT, all right, that's actually gonna elevate
that title. Even though they got a million in one type,
they got a million and one title. She should be
going after one of those, the Continental Championship, the International Championship,
(46:44):
the TNT champion, one of those titles should he should
be going after, and one of those titles should be
around his ways point blank.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
Hard to argue with that. Listen, I I don't I
don't know what happens next. I need to see him
in something more meaningful, not to say he hasn't been
doing anything meaningful. I think it's it's hard to remember that,
Like there's always that mcguffin. We were talking about that
not that long ago, that thing to chase that thing
to chase. The title. The last one was like swerves
(47:14):
jacket and having that viewed. So he's always got that
thing to chase. I just need him something chasing something
or running from something that really matters, because somebody that
works the way that he does, how fast he does
with the risks that he takes, I don't know how
long that that lasts. Now, one thing I would love
(47:36):
to see that I don't think we've seen yet that
I think is a real possibility. Probably not for a
couple of weeks. Ricochet and Darby Allen. Ricochet and Darby
Allen give me that, give me that now, and jected
right into my eyeballs. Darby shout out to Darby's in
(47:58):
my what do we miss? Summited mounts? He reached the
summit of Mount Everest and then nobody walks away from
that just feeling good. So give him a little bit
to rest up. He's now the Guinness record holder for
like the highest kickflip on a skateboard because he brought
it with him, because of course he did. I don't
(48:19):
think you brought it to the summit. I'm pretty sure
that stayed at base Camp six, but absolutely wild. But
I would love to see that. I think that would
be a lot of fun. Even if it's not anything meaningful,
that match itself could be easily pitched as a really
meaningful thing, be like you can come here and you
can try to take over and do all this. No,
I'm a pillar, You're gonna fight me now, and just
that would be dope. I would love that. I think
(48:40):
everybody would love that.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
I'm so excited. Yeah, Brad, you and I spoke weeks
if not months ago about Ricochet ceiling in aew and
I don't know if you remember your answer at that time,
but you said, no, top goal, Yeah, Maine Prize Jones
world champ. And with the way he's been presented weak
in and week out, even though this stretcher match, it
won't be a top five candidate of matches we're most
(49:04):
invested in. I think you put it perfectly via text, Brad,
excited to see the talent involved, not necessarily invested in
the match. With the way Ricoshet has been presented, I'm
fairly confident that, oh man, that can actually be a
real possibility, that he's not just chasing Mike the TNT
title or the international title. But I really think the
company values him as potentially being the top guy. Maybe
(49:28):
you run back him versus Swerve, but this time for
the World Championship. I just think the way he's being
presented right now, and if you also insert Samantha Irvin
right not just as a commentator, but if Samantha Irvin
gets what reportedly she wanted WWB of actually being an
on screen talent, whether that be a manager. Yeah, if
(49:50):
you put them with each other, to me, that is okay.
Ricochet is coming for that top title. He's got Samantha
with him, and he will not be denied. I just
think in conclusion, I think the three of us agree
most fans agree that Swerve and Timeless Tony Storm have
(50:10):
been the two biggest w W E T a W victories.
Ricochet is climbing the charts. For me of if they
really land the plane on this, if he does continue
to ascend and hold singles gold, I think we have
to insert him in that conversation of being in that
picture with the Swerves and the Tonies of someone who
signed with the company and it worked out incredibly well
(50:32):
nol on me for the talent, but also did great
things for the company itself.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Yeah, yeah, totally. On that note, I wanna, I wanna pivot.
It feels like a good transition into my question. And
forgive me if I'm stepping on your toes here, Mike.
There are there are the six six matches that are
announced for double or nothing. Okay, I'll give you some
picks here. You already laid it out very nicely. The
Hurt Syndicate versus the Sons of Texas Sammy Guevara and
(51:05):
what was it called the phenom? The Prodigy? The Prodigy?
I can't remember what it was called the Natural, the Natural?
There we go. Was he always the Natural?
Speaker 3 (51:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (51:12):
I feel like he had something else before that, But
I'm drawn a blas.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
I if if Roxy and Perez is popping up by
double or Nothing that's what it was, that would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
My brain thought, like, wait, he was seven for a minute,
and they should never have done that. Character good lord?
Speaker 3 (51:25):
Uh the Natural?
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Yeah yeah, yes, yeah. Well anyway, Tustin Roads with with
the with the Blue and the Red a very nice look. Uh,
the Sons of Texas first, the Hurt Syndicate presumably with
m J f uh Timeless Tony Storm versus Mina Sherikawa
that spoke it into existence. It happened, Yes, okay, f
(51:50):
TR versus Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGinnis, Mark Briscoe versus
Ricochet and the stretcher match. Of those four matches, which
match and actually you know what three I'm removing. I'm
removing Tony and and Mina of the the Brisco Ricochet
and the two tag matches. Which are you looking forward
(52:11):
to the most and which is most likely to have
a clean finish?
Speaker 1 (52:19):
Tyler, I did actively listen, you did removes, which of
course would have been my Yeah, yeah, would be very.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
FTR Danny, Danny Garcia and then uh Ricochet and Brisco.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
Yeah, for sure, for sure, I'm gonna go with F
t R versus Danny Garcia and Nigel McGinnis. In terms
of match that I'm most excited to see from an
in ring perspective, to me, that has the highest ceiling,
but which match will likely is least likely to involve
(52:56):
you said interference or some sort of finishing or thank
you more effective way to say that, which is most
likely to have a clean finish? My answer would be different.
I would actually go Hurt Syndicate versus Sons of Texas.
I do not think you need to protect the Sons
of Texas. I will admit I've not watched an episode
of our HTV ever, but you don't need to. You
(53:21):
don't need to protect Sammy and Dustin. Hurt Syndicate are
clearly winning this, and I will be right with the
world match most of them four two FTR, the Danny
Garcia and Nigel McGinnis. Would be fun to see Nigiel
McGinnis for the first time in my life. But clean,
finish worthy, and that has to be the Hurt Syndicate.
They hurt people.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Mike, you have any thoughts with the single match again,
Mark Briscoe and Ricochet in the stretcher.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
Match, Okay, I guess that'll be well.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
That one's tough to say clean finish clean for what
it is. I guess for that one, we'll any.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
I guess right interference. Ricochet is winning that, by the way,
we can all agree.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, you know, being affected no rules,
just you don't got to worry about running or whatever.
Speaker 1 (54:10):
So Bristol just beat him on Dynamite a few weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (54:14):
Oh yeah, so fifty to fifty. Yeah, Ricochets is gonna
get it back. Period. And as for the interference, that
would probably be like you said the f t R
Nigel Danny Garcia, because Big Stoke is going to it's gonna,
you know, stick his head into that, you know, because
(54:36):
Big Stoke has been been played, he's been he's been disrespected,
and Big Stoke don't play that. So so yeah, so
I think that would be it. But you mean to
tell me decently Marquee matches. He's in the marquee matches that.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
They have, like we're getting anarchy in the arena.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Oh, we're getting anarchy in the hellow night included we
got we got Lost Pray versus Hangman Out and Page Okay,
that's one, and we got Jamie Hayter versus Mercedes my.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
Name Okay, So according to my taste, there's two matches
that I'm looking forward to. I'm looking forward to Mercedes
versus Jamie, and I'm looking forward to hang Man and
will Ospring easy everything else. And listen, I probably shouldn't
be saying this on the airwaves, but guess what, y'all
(55:28):
gonna be there, so I'm gonna be on the lookout
for y'all. But but uh yeah, let's say let's say,
I got I got a special VPN, so I'll be
watching it, but I will not be coming out of
my pocket. So yeah, so yeah, I just I'm sorry.
Like I told y'all on the in the in the
in the pre production meeting, that a e W. And
(55:52):
this is not my bias aside, they lost me a couple,
they lost me months ago, and so it's hard for
me to get engaged with their product. I'm just I'm
kind of like death Righters are still a thing, like
mox Is still is still it's still hanging on by
hook or crook, which matter of fact, I'm about to
give away my question, so I'll wait.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
Oh no, by by all means go ahead.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Okay, Well my question is, well number one is death
Right is still a thing? Moxley is still champ uh
he This past week when I actually did watch still
cage match against him and Samoa Joe, everybody news there's
gonna be some type of interference, because why would they
(56:37):
have a still cage with a whole premise is for
nobody to interfere. But anybody knew somebody's gonna interfere, But
it wasn't gonna be a death Rider. No, no, no, no,
because they were going to be counteractive by the resistance, right,
So who comes out gave Kid? But they didn't. I
don't think they named gave Kid by by name, did they? No?
They just said who is that? Who is that in
(56:59):
the hoodie? They gave him a break k They gave
him a breakk Oh, my god? So is this the
way that you should okay my question?
Speaker 1 (57:15):
It's a great preamble.
Speaker 3 (57:18):
Is this a problem with A E W. Ongoing problem
with ae W that they introduced characters on your screen
and potential mainstays that's gonna be in the promotion with
no backstory whatsoever. Gabe Kid is not an ae W
contracted wrestler. When's the last time Gabe Kid was actually
(57:41):
on your screen? A E W Cannon Never right? Maybe
maybe forgetten door if I remember, perhaps I knew was
the joint the joint show with A E W and
and in New Japan? You know they But that was
in Japan where he went against Kenny Omega. You ever
(58:04):
heard anything about gay Kid? But gay Kid all a
sudden now has some type of connection with the Death Riders,
even though he's technically a face in New Japan. To
Holt to keep the title around MAXI, why is this happening?
That's my question?
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Why? Why?
Speaker 3 (58:26):
I don't get it? I just turned on this the
first episode of ae W I've watched in a couple
of weeks because I know, you know, Samoa Joe, I'm gonna, yeah,
I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna root for Tomo and Joe.
I had I knew Samoa Joe had no chance and
you know what winning. But I'm like, you know what,
let me see if they're gonna give a match. Oh yeah,
we got blood. Of course, we got blood because of
(58:48):
John Moxfleet. It's the Death Riders, of course, really really
really shooter real Yoda is gonna be chased away, of course,
Sizarro on my bad. Uh, Claudia is going to be
counteracted with somebody else who uh House Tops Bops, Yeah,
the Ops. Okay, great name, But why is this happening?
(59:11):
Why we had this at this point where we're just waiting,
we're limping to all in until a new champion is
crown That's my question.
Speaker 1 (59:21):
Why phenomenal promo of the week, just thinking the same
thing said wow.
Speaker 3 (59:27):
Wow, okay, good aw to get that out of it.
Speaker 1 (59:31):
I guess so okay, So, Mike, to answer one of
the questions you laid out before the question, I remember
this because we were in the building, Brad and I
saw Gabe Kid at Collision at Collision in February. I
do remember the exact date, but that was when Dynamite
Collision came to Phoenix a few months ago, so he
was presented there. But admittedly it was random. It was exciting.
(59:52):
It's like, oh, Gabe Kid is here. But to your
point in terms of the presentation, definitely odd. And there
was no Brad that I write collect. There was no
sort of Death Riders elite tees in that whatsoever. Why
is this happening Mike's Steph. I think the powers that
(01:00:12):
be are desperate to try to make the Death Riders work.
I thought about this in preparation for our episode. If
the move is not, will Osprey finally mercifully dethrones John
Moxley at all in Texas? If Moxley leaves, was that
(01:00:33):
globelife field with the belt, I don't know what to do.
I don't know what to say, but for now, what
I will say to you is they're trying to make
this work. They're trying to get folks invested, at least
until the night of July twelfth, when presumably Max will
lose the title to the winner of the Owen Cup,
who I predict will be Will Osprey. But no, it's
(01:00:57):
been atrocious. My death Writers is still a thing. I
don't know why. I think Tony Cohn may say, oh,
it delivers ratings and it does this and that. I
never thought i'd be this down on a John Moxley
title reign. The dude is fantastic in many ways. He
has been the MVP of AW, not the main character
(01:01:17):
that's saying, man Page, but the MVP of AW, I
would argue from day one has been mox particularly on
the men's side. But no, it's been atrocious, Mike. It
had so much potential. Remember when they did My Man
Brian and Danielson dirty with the bat over the head.
The suffocation was like, Oh, okay, maybe maybe we have
something here. Maybe Shane McMahon is pulling the strings. What's
(01:01:38):
in the briefcase, Well, certainly we'll find out. I don't
know by Christmas we've not gotten any of that. It's
been bad, Mike. Fortunately the timing aligned where of course
we're gonna end double or nothing with anarchy in the arena,
so it aligns that, Okay, we're gonna get a big
(01:01:58):
plunder match, so presumably the match won't be booed out
of the building because ideally, I think Brad and I
will probably be cheering. It'll be fun. We'll see well,
you know, we'll move forward. It's been bad. I think
this is just the means to the end, which again
is Mox dropping at all. And but that doesn't excuse
the booking we've seen and the all that's been the
(01:02:20):
Death Riders. It's not worked for me, and it's been
that way since I don't know, November. It's been bad, Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
I have nothing to add. It's im bored. That's the
only it's the only part, which is crazy to say,
it's the main title picture. It's the only part of it.
I've been like, ah, this and I love Mox, but like,
get it off, Mox. It's we're gonna get a Mox match.
We know exactly how it's gonna go. It's everybody will
(01:02:50):
leave disappointed, like we're like, oh, that was something to behold,
and it's normally when something like that happened, you know
in the past we'd all be like, oh, somebody's got
to dethrone this guy.
Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
Whoever.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
We're all invested, we got to watch it. But it's
just not like it's what it's go away heat right,
like it's stop. We need we don't want this. We
didn't ask for this. We were all pumped when he
kind of turned and we were like, oh, we're getting
like this really kind of sinister John Moxley. But he's
just same John Moxley, just yeah, quieter, I guess.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
And needs to be needs to be saved by people.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Yeah, he's more cryptic than usual. And I don't I
don't know. It just don't really cool. We got Mina,
but nothing else changed other than like it sucks more now,
Like that's the only thing that happened is he got
the belt. We got Mina kind of sucks over it.
Pivot do something, do something different, Like all of this
talent in the ring, all this talent around the ring,
(01:03:47):
we're on the microphone should not be this. I don't know. Uh,
I can't even think of the word for other than
kind of I don't even think mediocre, Like mediocre is
too kind word uninspired, tedious, if if I got, I'm
(01:04:09):
gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna quote I'm gonna quote Roman
here from The Way Back Missionary every single night. Right,
It's it's the same thing. It's like we're getting this
thing that's supposed to look like this, this uh incredible
(01:04:31):
on paper and just an incredible lineup where we're like,
holy crap, if you told me three four years ago
that's what we're getting, I'm in last year. I'll be like, hell, yeah,
look at that card, look at that look at that matchup.
That's gonna be amazing. But I just feel like we're
hitting repeat. We're just doing reruns, but we're recasting the
(01:04:53):
main character to play alongside John Moxley. But we're just
hitting greatest hits, and I'm just kind of like, all right,
I'm just kind of kind of bored. For all I
know in that briefcase he's got like the Colonel's secret
recipe and not even a belt. We don't know what
the hell's going on there, so like I don't have
a clue what's happening. So I can't believe I'm saying it,
(01:05:15):
but I'm just ready for it to be over.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
You know, you're not alone Brad and just two funal points, Mike.
Number one, as you alluded to, this card is super
reliant on the Owen Cup Finals more than I can
ever remember from a previous Double or Nothing. We know
it is guaranteed that those matches are gonna go crazy again.
I predict that anarchy in the arena's going to close
(01:05:38):
the show. But my goodness, if Double or Nothing twenty
twenty five was devoid of Mercedes v. Jamie and Osprey Vhanger,
my excitement level would be much different. Finally, Mike, the
biggest indictment to me against where we're at with the
Death Riders. It's kind of the two strike rule, the
(01:06:00):
chance to pivot at least twice in recent memory. First
at Revolution back in March, you could have had Copeland
dethrone Mox and then likely just for Christian Cage to
cash in. Potentially that was opportunity number one, because it
was clear by that point in my opinion. I'm just
a thirty something with a podcast, what do I know,
(01:06:21):
But in my opinion it was clear the d Riders
not working for the majority of the fan base. And
then Mike's Steph the following month. I don't know if
your VPN was working. Then the following month in Philly
Temple University. I've been there. You had the chance to
pivot one year to the day swerve strictly becomes champ.
(01:06:43):
Swerve can be thrown mox. You didn't do it there,
and then now again this is all shaping up for
all in Texas where either Hangman Page or my pick,
will Osprey has to be throwing mox. It's a must.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
They had to return to the Young Books in Philly terribly. No,
you had to, you know, they had to give the
They had to give the you know.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
So they could go to Japan, right, so they can
so they could return to go to Japan. Yeah, of course, yeah, yeah.
I was lamenting that too. It's like, oh, I was
really excited for this, and then they's sort of like
we're there for a week and then gone again. I'm like,
what is happening? I know, I don't understand. There just
seems to be no rhyme or reason. I hope they
do have one. I just don't know who's writing it
(01:07:30):
or figuring it out right now, because it just feels
a lot of the times like they're just sort of
doing things and they're giving us like banger matches and stuff.
It's really good, but it's like the stories are just
they're there, but they're just not all that compelling, not consistently.
And then you have like on the flip side of that, legitimately,
(01:07:50):
every single thing Tony Storm does is gold and it's
it swerves really great and like there's just so much
good stuff happening there that the goods are really really
really good, if not great, or if not like top
of the business great, with the bads are the exact
same thing in the opposite direction. So it's I don't know,
(01:08:12):
it's tough, it's tough. It's it's it's sort of like, uh,
Tony keeps playing the greatest hits, and I know, Mike,
there's probably some greatest hits in your life. We gotta
we gotta do this. We haven't done this in a while. Tyler,
it's time to cue up the music for Trap Tales.
Mike steph Edition.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
You know, if Mike stuff was gonna reappear on GI
we had to get a Trap Tails in. Mike, I
want to give some context. I want to kind of
hype hype this up for a moment before you give
us your most recent Trap Tales Brooklyn edition, including what
is on your gym playlist? Wrestling themed? Yes, I gotta
(01:09:01):
tell you, guys, traptails very quickly for me. This past week,
the basketball training continues. It's very popular. On a given day,
there's anywhere from five to a dozen kids ages say
twelve to eighteen.
Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
This is themed.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
To set you up, Mike Steph, I am really banking
on your playlist to give me joy, to give me satisfaction,
to give me reassurance because Mike Brad. This past week,
five thirty Am Jones the basketball court at La Fitness.
The training commenced. The basketball training with these youngsters and
(01:09:39):
the playlist continues to be problematic. This is how I
know I'm at a different stage in my life where
just music, the content, the decibel level infuriates me. I
kid you not kids and some parents were present and
just blasting from this speaker which the coach brought with him.
(01:10:02):
You hear, lol, Wayne rap I put it in her
mouth like lobster tail. I said, Lord, please give me
the patience to make it through these last five free
throws that I'd like to hit and then move on
with my day.
Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
Jesus, what are we doing? What are we teaching our youngsters?
There's young ladies here and there's parents watching.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Are you.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Mike's Steph Jim music playlists? Please give us hope?
Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
How can I follow that?
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
That's a true story.
Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
Yo, I swear that came out said down the left field.
I'm like, did I just hear what I heard? Nice?
Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
It's hot out here, it's hard.
Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
Here, beautiful beautiful. Well, I love it. I love it,
like you said, my My my playlist is wrestling themes.
I have a wrestling theme playlist. The first well, my
favorite three, my top three themes that I work out
to because I am a sixty minute man. I do
(01:11:21):
the eye man on the treadmill. That that that's that's
that's my equipment of choice. That's what I go to
the gym for the treadmill. I tried to go over
and hang and bang with with on with on a
big guy brother, but that wasn't me. I got pinch nerves,
I got back spasms. You know, it just was too much.
(01:11:42):
So I was like, you know what, let me go
on the treadmill. So I do a sixty I do
sixty five minutes on the treadmill right, and I start
my playlist from the from the beginning. Sometimes I'll start
start from where I ended up, but a lot of
times I start at the beginning. Can I start with
the original shield thing? Dude, dann it because that gets me,
(01:12:02):
That gets me a little warmed up. I put it
on three miles per hour. I start walking, get a
little warmed up, right, and then it transitions over to Batista.
I walk along and now I'm getting up to four
four and a half getting you know, I'm getting a laugh,
I'm getting a little sweat, and then I cool it
down a little bit with the sultry sounds of brock Lesner.
(01:12:26):
You know, I know it is oxymoron, but it cools
me down just a little bit, you know, because after
the walk alone, it's like I'm light right. But my
top three themes are as followed, and this is when
I do my sprints, not in that order, but number
one Sammy saying row to part. I swear I'm on
(01:12:46):
that treap mail and I'm just doing I'm going.
Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
To sky movie not yeah, it's just you know, even
though it's about three and a half four minutes, and
sometimes depending on my stamina, I'm like, but then I'm
looking at the time like, no, I'm going to finish this.
Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
I want to sprint through this whole song. All right,
that's number one, number two underrated Odie but Goodie Bailly's
old thing. It ain't no stopping and that's not Yeah,
I swear, that's another one. Gets it gets the blood.
It gets the blood pumping right now when I get
(01:13:21):
back down to trying to regulate my heart rate. But
at the same time, I'm still, let's say, forty minutes
in and now I really need some motivation to really
get get everything going and not stop to keep on going.
Cuta Dirk Ring cut up. Yes, dude, yeah, it makes
(01:13:45):
me walk, but it makes me walk with a purpose.
It makes me walk with a purpose. So I'm usually
about three and a half math hour, four math hour,
you know, but I'm doing that power walk, you know.
And and and by this time I'm sweating. And now
on mentioned honorable mention is Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntire's theme
(01:14:06):
is a is a very good one. I could sprint,
or I can.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Broke brooking dreams or his current one.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
I know it's current one. It's current one. Broken Dreams
is yeah, broken Dreams, but no, it's current one, you know, like, yeah,
it just has a it has.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
A nice drums to it. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
And ben ballas new song, Oh Ship, Yes, because that
because it's it's so it's so, it's so sinister. It
gives you, it gives you another one to march to.
But also Judgment Day. I swear before I actually heard
it in my ears and not off the TV, because
(01:14:44):
every time I used to hear that song, like come on,
I don't want to hear that, But when you hear
it with the ear pugs and when you're zoned in.
Speaker 6 (01:14:54):
To the other song, the other I swear, I swear
I feel, I feel, I feel it all in my bones.
Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
So yeah, that's a technically that's my top five, but
three top and a couple of article mentions. But yeah,
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
I'm so satisfied. I I wow you you had some
some choices on their MIC that I did not expect,
namely the Judgment Day. That's I love it. I thought
you were gonna go what listen, listen. We follow your
instagram at Mike Double Underscore stap as everyone should who's tuning.
Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
In, carry on right here, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Yeah, And so if people want trap tails during the week,
follow mike'steph because you will actually post from the gym.
You have Lyra Valkyria. I mostly remember Lira. I'm kind
of sad she didn't make the list, but that was
a very very strong compilation. Thank you for curating that
for us, Mike Seth.
Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
I need I need the I need the CFOs back
in in Apple music. I need Alistair Black's theme in there,
like I don't want the I don't want the remake
of that crap like I want the I want the
o G theme that Alistair black Man, that's an Ald
Timer's that one, that one music.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
Oh no, we want wet, we want Apple.
Speaker 2 (01:16:14):
I'm paying. I'm paying for Apple, Apple, get on you
fix it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
I got.
Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
I don't want no, absolutely not. Uh but yeah I have.
I have almost all of those themes that you said
are also in the rotation of mine when I actually
go to the gym.
Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
The the other one that was really good for my
longer days because it's been you know, for a while,
I was doing an hour and a half of just lifting.
It was the hater Ray version one, and we're getting
hater Ray Version two. Mikey Ruckus. Uh, that's it's great
to just go play thirty minutes long, rotates through all
those songs. Yeah, it was an easy one to set
(01:16:49):
it and forget it and not have to worry about it,
because sometimes it'll have a song pop up and I'm like,
I don't want that right now. I don't want to
be picking it. Just like, just play, just play, just
go great list. But guys, we're at the end here.
What do we miss?
Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
Mike, stephf you want to go first?
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
Okay, Well, a couple of things. One, there was this
something that we were talking about offline, Me and Tyler
was talking about RJ City and his appearance on Soria's
Saya's podcast Rule Breakers. It was hilarious, Like, I am
a fan of RJ City sometimes which go out periodically
(01:17:30):
catch a e W, you know, and every time I
watch it it's a blast. But disappearance on Soirea's podcast's
hilarious because if you're familiar with RJ City, you know
the snark, you know the sarcasm. But that's that's that's
that's that's pretty much that's what makes him him, And
it was on full blast. You could tell they were
(01:17:52):
there truly friends and everything, But a lot of things
he was saying you could tell was going right over
Saraya's head because he's like making fun of the fact
of rule breakers. Yeah, we're gonna break some rules right here.
Look at all the look at all the pictures with
the Yeah, this is really breaking some rules. And and
there was one other thing he was saying that he
(01:18:12):
is the type his house is a shoes off house.
You have to take your shoes off in the house.
But even though Soraya doesn't like people with shoes on
in the house, being in fact the amount of animals
that she have a house that literally makes her shoes
on house because you don't know what you're stepping in.
Why would I walk around without my shoes and you
(01:18:34):
got all species of of of of animals around and
I'm walking barefoot. No no, no, no, but but yeah,
RJ City's appearance on Sara Pie was great. And one
other thing, if if people don't know, I guess we're
not getting paid for this. But Poker Face season two
(01:18:55):
out now on Peacock. Great series. I just started while
about a week ago, I watched two episodes a night.
I'm almost caught up. I believe they're up to episode
five this week, dropping on Thursdays. Yeah, so Poka face
on Peacock. Yeah that's what I missed.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, yeah, you missed. You missed the whole season. Now
we caught up.
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Yeah, okay, I missed a few things. Number one the
opening weekend of the WNBA. We're here, guys, I'm so excited.
If you visit Gimmick infringementpod dot com and click on
the writing section, we have new words for you. The
most recent article is entitled first Year twenty nine of
(01:19:39):
the W. We're talking about the biggest names heading into
a new season of the WNBA. Some predictions as well,
lots of first that are occurring or that may occur.
So definitely recommend you check it out. Let us know
what you think of the w what's really catching your
attention with these first few games. Finally, guys, TNA under
(01:20:01):
Siege is this Friday. It is from Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Admittedly the card is a bit lackluster. My eyes are
squarely focused on knockouts Champion Masha Slamovic versus Victoria Crawford,
the artist formerly known as Alisha Fox. W W fans
(01:20:22):
may remember that name. The Knockouts Division is in a
really fascinating place right now. Since Jordan Grace is left,
it's just been I'm glad Masha has the mantle right now,
but I don't know that they've invested in her quite
the way I would have liked to see. I have
no doubt Masha's winning this match. But also on the
card is Tessa Blanchard versus Arianna Grace. Blanchard, Crawford and
(01:20:45):
Robert Stone of NXT fame have been beefing with Santino,
the director of authority in TNA. I still think Tess
is going to be the woman to be throwne Masha,
so I'm keeping my eyes very focused on that. And
then finally, guys, not prep you for this. I don't
know if you heard news out of surprise Arizona a
very scary situation. Four fifth graders were arrested last week
(01:21:10):
for plotting to stab and kill one of their classmates.
In summary, they concocted this whole plan where they would
lure the kid into a bathroom one of the children
one of the students, would stab this boy while the
(01:21:30):
other three wrong lookout duty. Now, fortunately this did not
happen because a classmate overheard these plans being devised and
shared it with adults at their school. Luckily, I think
this was at a legacy heritage, legacy traditional school. Very
scary and again so glad that no one was injured.
(01:21:53):
And I think both of these I think all four
of these kids are charged with misdemeanors and their their
families may be able to got We'll see what happens.
I want to present a different look at this because
obviously it's it could have been a huge tragedy. If
I were the kid that they were plotting against and
I learned of this, I would walk on to campus, Mike,
(01:22:15):
I would have Bautista's I walk alone playing. I would
need someone to photoshop my face onto fifty cents Get
Rich or Die trying album. These kids tried to take
me out and look I made it. They're expelled, hopefully
they're charged with the misdemeanor and I survive. So in
a serious note, fortunately no one was injured. Very very scary.
(01:22:37):
It makes me think of where we're out in society.
But also if I were that kid that made it through,
you couldn't tell me nothing. I would show up to campus, say, man,
look these people try to take me out and look
where I'm at now.
Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
So real quick, because this is really surprising. It just
looked it up scary, this plot and this thing actually
happened October first guess.
Speaker 3 (01:22:57):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
And now it's being shared with the public.
Speaker 2 (01:23:01):
Yeah that so it's really crazy. But also support support
public schools, not public charter schools, but support public schools,
like you want to do a charter school thing. Yeah,
that's fine, that's right. But I just wanted to say
shout out to public schools. I haven't had this happen
there yet that I know of in Arizona. I'm just saying, uh,
(01:23:22):
there's no way out of that. I I don't even
want to talk about this any more. I'm just like
I'm sitting there going this is like, this reminds me
of the Beware of the Slenderman stuff. All I wanted
to know was, hey, guys, do you think Caitlyn Clark
deserved the flagrant one? Yes? Hey, there we go, that's
what's up.
Speaker 3 (01:23:38):
Let's go the way she threw down. You're okay with that?
All last year, all last year when we had all
the discussion about everything that happened with Kaitlan Clark or whatever.
Abody was like, well, this is out of n W
NBA play. Oh it's physical, Oh yo, yeah, yeah, what's
going y'all? Just Newton, Newton, Newt the Newton, the sport,
(01:23:59):
y'all I have to worry about. So now in her
second year, she's like, you know what, I'm gonna set
the tone. Don't f with me. I'm Katin and Clark,
I'm I'm gonna be I'm gonna be about that business.
All right. Fine, No, this is the no fly zone, okay,
and now you want to get up now. The only
thing I will say, if you're going to do that,
(01:24:21):
do it with your chest. You don't do that and
then you walk.
Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
Yeah that's all that ye yea.
Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
She didn't want she still doesn't want any of that
with the Angel.
Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
But the big bad Angel Reeves who who passed his
shots with with miss rebounds.
Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
You know, Oh that's crazy. Now we're just being Now,
we're just being disrespectful. I don't even I don't even
believe that Mike's staff believes that. I don't believe it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
But that's crazy, Like I said, the only thing that
I disagreed with was if you're gonna, if you're gonna,
if you're gonna get the hard file, stand there and
be like, yeah, listen, it's basketball. It's basketball. Listen you
talking on that. I find you about it. So okay,
but the walk, the walk fast away okay, but yeah,
(01:25:08):
but yeah, I don't believe it with it. I don't
believe with the flavorant. You know, she she went for
the ball. She went for the ball. Yes, she caught on,
but she went for the ball. Wasn't grabbed around the neck,
wasn't like Ach threwer down. So listen, gotta call at
like it is. I'm Jesse the body and our call
it like it is.
Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
If you want more w If you want more Brad Winchester,
he is back on the screen. In case you're listening
and not watching. He stepped away for a moment.
Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
He is back.

each and every Sunday night, last early Monday morning, right
around the time that these guys GI drops, you know,
and you know, sometimes it's a race, like I know
they dropping three, so I need to drop it two
fifty five, you know. So But yeah, that's that's that's
(01:27:15):
pretty much it. I might have a mixtape coming out
later on this month, if I ever get around to it.
It's a it's a sequel from Mike's stuff, Year two.
It's about ten tracks right now, called thirty Months. Because
I was actually gonna it's gonna it was supposed to
be a part two, but then I was like, you
know what, the material that I've written really doesn't encapsulate
(01:27:36):
what Year two is about. It's really thirty months aka
two and a half years if you really do the mask.
So yeah, that that should hopefully be completed by the
end of the month. So let's say, let's say the
thirty first, which happened to be my daughters my lovely
daughter to me is twenty something birthday, so the thirty first,
So yeah, I'm aiming towards the thirty first. But yeah,
(01:27:57):
that's that's pretty much it. I don't I don't plug much,
at least not on screen.
Speaker 1 (01:28:02):
