production meeting. It's a beautiful day. The sun is out.
I'm excited to go out to dinner with the fan

this is the only time. There's the only window of

Overall, was the show a hit or a miss for you? Uh?
CEZ was a miss?

It was such a miss for me. The women's match great,
the four way was a lot of fun after that,
I don't know it missed the way that Drew did,
and I hope he's just gonna be okay. That scared
the crap out of me. Man, Like that looks so bad,

(09:00):
ad I I like, it's nobody's fault. Stuff happens. It's
a live event and things are going fast, and people
are going going through tables and crap like they're nine
feet tall, eight hundred pound people throwing each other around.
Crap's gonna happen. I just hope he's okay. And to
have it be at a big poe with like some mistakes,

(09:22):
it just I don't know. I thought the show was
there were parts of it that were really fun. There
were parts of it that were really bad, and it
wasn't like they were I don't want to say that
they were performed poorly because I don't. I don't think
that's what I'm trying to say. Just a bunch of it.
The easiest thing is the bunch of it just wasn't

for me. It just wasn't for me. Going through Pat McAfee,
I don't care. I don't care, like I just don't care.
The no nobody thought like, oh Randy's gonna walk away
with this one. Nobody thought that Randy was gonna be
john Cena for this. This was this was cool in
that this was probably it for them, right Like I
met Randy and Johnson are running it back during his

farewell tour, So for for.

That was cool.

The the AA counter into an r KO was cool.
That that was really good. But otherwise they made it
a five moves of Doom match and it was just plotting,
and oh it was. It was hard to watch because
it was so slow. I found myself getting really bored.

And they had way too many interference finishes. Was like
almost all of them had interference in it, and I
just yeah, do whatever once in a while, or or
have one or two on the card, But it can't
be the vast majority of your card has tom Foolery
in it because I don't don't. I don't know why,
because because I guess why is it a p l E?

Like what makes a p l E tyler? Because last
to that question, what makes it different from a raw
or SmackDown? Because they still have commercial breaks?

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah right right, yeah, yeah, that they do, especially for
US peasants on the basic we can see so many
Morgan and Morgan ads before it just you know, get
a step away. Sometimes I would say, I mean straight
up the matches that you get, there's just this vibe that, Okay,
if this match is going to be on a pl E,
either it is the crescendo to a worthy food, food

to a worthy feud, or it's a match yeah, or
to match that I know just based on the star power,
just based on the anticipation. We can only get this
at a pl E. That's the formula for me. Either
the rivalry is worthy of it or it's just oh,
we've been waiting for these to go at it. It
can't happen on a RAR SmackDown. It has to happen

(11:48):
at the biggest show of the month.

Do you feel like those expectations were met?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
That's and that's the part for me where it's like
this just didn't really feel like a PLEE. It had
pl present Haitian, but it didn't have pl E substance,
And I think that's fine every once in a while.
Like I don't think it was like a terrible event
by any stretch.

I was.

I was entertained for the bulk of it. I just
found myself going like, oh, this is this, this is it? Huh?
And that was and that was my problem was like, okay, fine,
it's sort of like looking at you know, if you
wanted to take it with with a W. We got
Samoa Joe and John Moxley in a steel cage. We
have the I think the last champ right before before

Daniel Danielson, it was it was Joe to SWERVEX.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, So we have a former a W champ fighting
the current a W champ, Samoa Joe, scary dude, John Moxley,
scary dude, locked inside of a cage. Gonna be on
T at least. The TV thing is a named event.
It's Beach Break, It's it's a named event on TV.
That's kind of what Backlash felt like to me, was

(13:08):
a name TV event rather than a pl E. And
it's the easiest way I could describe it, you know,
it's it's like blooder Guts or something like that, where
you put a title on it, you put it on
a weekend, you can even look at it as a
Saturday night main event. This felt more like a Saturday
night main event than it did a pl E. After WrestleMania,

(13:30):
and I also think that, you know, to no fault
of their own. What do you do after mania? You know,
like it's it's okay. Mania is the ultimate culmination in feuds.
It's rarely the start of the new feud. It could
be the continuation of some stuff. But do you pull
the trigger on something that fast after Mania? If people

(13:50):
got beat down or betrayed or whatever, does it immediately
go to the next poe or do you build on
that for a while? And you know, how do you
make those decisions? I don't en be them because no
matter what you do, people are going to be mad. Right,
I'm not mad. I just didn't feel like a pla
to me. But it was fine. I just feel like
it was a mess. I wasn't excited for backlash and

I left going, you know what, I was right?

Speaker 1 (14:15):
How about you? Yeah? Well I'm mad. I thought I
could sleep it off and be less upset, but I'm
just not. This was such an upsetting choking up my water.
This was such a this this was such an upsetting show.
I'm glad. I'm glad we can laugh about it now.

That was that was actually very hilarious production. Please you
know what to do? There? The biggest Winners of the Night.
Jacob Flats who Enlabra Valkyria. I thought they were great.
I am always I am always in support of companies
building new stars, establishing new people as faces of your divisions.
Jacob Flatsu, Oh my gosh. I don't know what Paul

of that Triple Ahian company works back when they brought
him in, but this has to be exceeding even their
best case scenario. He's gotten over with the audience so quickly,
and he is just musty TV for me every time
he's on Big Winner. Of course he was going to
win the Fatal four way, but I just thought it
was validating in terms of how Saint Louis reacted to him.
And then Whyra getting to win over Becky. I will

(15:20):
say I was surprised, Brad. I did not think she
was going to retain. I'm so happy she either. Yeah,
because again you're establishing that next generation of the stars.
We'd love to see it like you, although it might
be more upset than you. The rest of this card
is where it really started to trail off for me.
Dominic mysterio. Listen, I'm not going to slander Dominic, but

(15:44):
he had his moment to win the title at Mania.
I'm ready for him to drop the title to somebody else.
That's just me that match, like you said, with the
interference element of it, El Grande Americano showing up, this
means we're getting closer to the Luccha Brothers reforming. Perhaps
that's a win, but the interference there, and prior to that,

(16:05):
Becky was trying all these nefarious ways to win the match.
That just got absurd to me. Then we get into
Gunther versus Pat McAfee. I would love to have thoughts
for you, Brad, but I didn't watch much of this match.
You and I have reached a level of friendship where
we will often send voice memos to each other, and
these will often exceed five, six, seven minutes. So I

(16:26):
thought to myself, you don't if the content is fitting.
So this was the perfect time in the show for
me to send you a seven minute voice memo. I
told you, I just walked away. I didn't even mute it.
I just walked away and said I'm protecting my piece.
I don't need to see this.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
You did the rock. This guy sucks. I'm gonna go
take a leak and then just dip.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yeah, I Just to your point, this card, particularly this
match was not built for me. I recognize that, and
I made I made a business decision for myself, and
I just stepped away and sent you a long voice memo.
But the fact that Gunther didn't just squash Pat McAfee
in three minutes, I don't have anything else to say

(17:09):
about it. I'm glad Guther got the win. How they
booked Pat McAfee to nearly break out of Gunther's sleeper
hold that he had on him for like thirty to
forty seconds it seemed. And then we have to put
over Pat McAfee in this match against one of our
established killers on the roster, at least a former killer

(17:31):
on the roster. I completely disagree with how that went down.
And then finally Brad Winchester the main event, Randy Orden
versus John Cena. Big shout out to Randy Orden, big
shout out to Saint Louis. I mean, this pl was
built on the fact that the hometown hero is going
to be in the main event. Like tickets were moved,
that was a packed house business wise, bravo there, John

(17:55):
Cena as Champ. I mean, I guess there's no turning
back now. But the nostalgia, the excitement about what this
could potentially be, it's completely evaporated for me. The match
versus Cody at WrestleMania was already unforgivable, and then this
match overbook City interference ref bumps, nick All, this bumps,

(18:21):
Jamie Noble, nick All, this, Jason Jordan KOs. They were
getting killed back there, which which is kind of fun.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Yeah, that was great.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
I did laugh at that.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
I wouldn't keep it, but that's a contract signing.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
It's yeah. And then our Truth factoring into the future
Hall of Famer, no doubt, our Truth factoring into the
main event championship match, and then this could potentially rumors
are lead to John Cena versus Our Truth at Saturday

(18:53):
Night's main event in a couple of weeks. It's just
surreal to me. I did not expect five this is
what we would be delivering as a main event. I'll
say this brand and then I'll kick it back to you.
I was so upset last night and even waking up
this morning that I had to go back. I went

(19:14):
on to Peacock today this is a true story, and
I pulled up an XT stand and deliver from just
a few weeks ago, and I went to the main
event of that show, Javon Evans versus Trick Williams versus Obafemi,
and I just wanted my hope, restored my hope in wrestling,
my hope in humanity, my hope that I deserve nice things.

(19:36):
And I thought, wait, NXT has the formula. That triple
threat match is a pl main event. It's grabs, it's athleticism,
it's intensity, it's building fresh stars. It was just giving
me everything I wanted. And the women's four way before
that was also fantastic and was better than John c
universus Randy Orton. I know this match, though, was built

(19:58):
on one last time element. You know, you have two
veterans of the industry going at it once more in
Randy's hometown. I get it. I was actually somewhat looking
forward to this match based on that. But this scene
a run is already leading me to ask you, are

(20:19):
we sure that turning John cen a heel was the
right move for this last title.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Run, not for a title run.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Now, I'm not having a good time. Another another nutshot.
I don't I don't cracking with the belt one two, three,
is that gonna be just how we're ending these matches
for the next three months, Because if so, I'm gonna
be sending you more more voice memos away from the
television during the show.

That's what I don't mind him doing the heel stuff.
I don't mind him like I feel like he should
be doing cheating in within his own realm, Like when
he does the five knuckles shuffle, it should be with

cheety way. It's just using the title and then having
commentary site that that that title shot on the ref
bump as one of the most vicious title shots he's
ever seen. He hit him like that Hogan TNA chair shot,
and that was just vicious, and it's like, wait, you
need to stop. He saw it.

Wasn't he unconscious for like four or five minutes. I
mean it was just right and like stuff just didn't
make sense. Okay, the first ref goes down, he gets
back up, then he gets he hits his head on
the on the steps, and he did and he was fine,
but like he hit his head on the steps, and
it gives a good reason to justify that, Hey, let's
get some doctors out. Nobody comes out, send another ref

he dies. Now people care? Now, people care. And the
thing that got me is they sent all these officials out.
Not one of the damn people that came out there
was a doctor. They sent like lawyers, Like what are
they gonna.

Do, like sue the concussion? There's what is happening here?

All this is out there to go like, Hey, if
you don't do this, we're gonna book the Undertaker, Like
you can't, what do you? What is happening? Just make
it make sense? And then we're getting the goofy John
Cena smile smart thing they do, just a I'm gonna
stare at the camera with the audience and go, h
I'm up to something now, and it's and it's just

goofy and and the whole time I was like, go faster,
for the love of all that's good. I can't even
remember all the moves in this match because ninety nine
of them were just attitude adjustments and r.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
KOs and spam finisher. Yeah, it's just ask that, you know.
That was That was a stage of w W and
the not not so Distant pass. I just thought we
had moved on, and granted, we are all gonna miss
John Cena when he's gone. If anyone deserves their flowers on,
they're fine to run. It is him.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
But that's the point, showcase, what you can do now exactly?

Speaker 1 (23:05):
My taste in wrestling match has so evolved and it's
just okay, So WrestleMania, last thing I'll say, maybe WrestleMania
Travis Scott appears, No Rock, that's already strike number one,
that may even be deserving of two strikes. And then
for this match, John Cena wins. No surprise there, and

(23:28):
then after you remember this, after the match, he gets
on the mic, Saint Louis, you peasants, I am the
last real champion. I am looking for real competition, do
dot a Brett? Is it just me? Or did you
think someone was gonna come out? Did you think we're
gonna get? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Because why do it otherwise?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Why it so we get? We get? The executive producers
Paul avec Oh, Yeah, you know, okay, okay, this is
a swerve. I've been watching long enough. It's either gonna
be seeing punk or it's gonna.

Turb your enthusiasm. Credits pop up like we're gonna we're
gonna get something.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
But then you end the show with just that again.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah. No, I'm with you, man, I'm with you. And
then we got Our Truth taking a bump through table
at the press conference.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, and then certain xtren event is going to be
built around potentially John Cena versus Our Truth. I'm still
out as two weeks. That's the same weekend as as
battl Rhythm. Yeah, that's Saturday, the twenty fourth, that's coming
up less than two weeks.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
That'll a birthday celebration, got it?

Speaker 1 (24:30):
So two weeks, two weeks, something good is happening.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
The two weeks, I think they can foster enough sympathy
where the crowd will be firmly behind our Truth and
want to see him win. And they'll build a lot
of hope spots in there. And I promise everybody you
can just put it on your DVR and watch it later.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
It's just the show will potentially be built around Scena
versus Truth and Logan Paul versus Jay Ussa that I'm
not watching. I'm not watching that, y'all. Really.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Tody Cody returns probably that night, probably, Yeah, good call
or see him Punk Rushes in to interfere with the
beatdown of Our Truth after the match when when Sina
kills him, good call because he doesn't want to fight
him because he's his hero.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Please add an Eo Sky or Bianca bell Air or
gets Steph on that card so that I'll tune into something,
but just based on what we could possibly get from
those two matches, respectfully, not for me, but this time
I'll actually have the foresight to not put myself through
through watching it. I love what I'm really down on
it right now, Brat.

I love Our Truth and I think I think that
he deserves his flowers for all he's can you know,
contributed to the w W over the years, and he's
got to be getting close too. He's got like kids
in college and they could be easily wrestling in the
w W this point too. So yeah, I can so
he truly is, and I would love to see him
at some point when the big belt and just hold it,

even if it's if it's briefly, and if he beats
scene it would be briefly. What a way to f
up his entire title run to have Our Truth win
this belt off of him at Saturday Night's main event,
that would get me to go like, Okay, I'm back
in because what is happening?

This is so messy. You want you know what can
get me back in if Our Truth just says, you
know what I talked to Adam Pierce, I'm nominating someone
who's gonna wrestle on my behalf and then we can
finally get montes Ford in a singles title match. How
is it in twenty twenty five? Fully respectfully Our Truth
potentially in a title match of Saturay nights me in

the event, but montes Ford coming up on forty has
not had that opportunity yet. I think about he's a
champion though he's a champion. Shout out to shout out

got to see all of these great people. We got

We got to see there was at Megan baying the

Julia's return. We got to see her come out with

and Freya are good friends. And the show got over,
not super late, but we got to clean up, lock

the choir orchestra thing. Yesterday morning, we're getting done, and
it was so the girls want to go to I Hop.

I don't want to go to I Hop. Okay, I
got to be here in eleven hours and do this
over again, and I hop's gonna gonna interfere with that
process because I gotta get ready for that. And then
I got to get up super early to get donuts
and stuff to bring him to this whole thing. I
don't want anything to do with this. We went out.
It was I Hoop at night, which means it took

eighteen thousand years to get our food. They all came
out incorrectly, and then they said, okay, you had this,
you had this, I can take your card. They took
the card and just and I made eye contact and
it was kind of like, how much do we Oh?
Then they charged us for the kid's meal. The kid's
meal is supposed to be free after a certain time.
They took it off. We're just trusting that that happened.

No clue would happen. Kind of terrible. The kids had
a blast. Tyler, Someday, when you have kids, you are
going to see the joy that comes from having your
plans get ruined. It sounds bad, but it's kind of dope.
Tuesday night, mister Jim Addabury and his band played in

his last concert at Morana High School. I did not
get to go, And it wasn't that I didn't want
to go. I thought, you know, I'll go. I'll hang
out in the light booth or maybe sound and Frey
I can unmute and mute the mics when they come up.
She'd love to do that. I thought that would be
a lot of fun. She didn't want to go. Instead,
when I got home and I brought her home, what
happened when she came out and she was like, I'll

She cut up all these strips with names on it
and we played charades for like two hours in the
living room. It was so much fun. We ended up
playing some charades with Mom on the phone while she
was in Indianapolis getting an award accepting an award that
she helped oversee for doing all kinds of rate work
with her job. She is a fena. I cannot express

to you how much fun I had that night. I
was exhausted. I was so tired. It was one of
those things where I just kind of want to sit,
I'm cooked, and then the kid comes out with a
bucket going like get up and act, I'm gonna guess

It was just a blast getting to have that quality time,
no tech in sight, absolute blast, and I hope you
