Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now Damage Infringemen.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome everybody to the Gimmeke Infringement Podcast. I am Brad
Winchester with me as always is Tyler McDowell blank, and
I didn't even call you my tag team partner. I'm
I'm dazed right now. I'm stunned. It's Mother's Day, Tyler,
and I'm gonna do something today that I have not
done in like six months. I feel is go to
(00:31):
a movie that I chose to go to. How are
you doing today, my friend?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
I was gonna say I'm thankful, but it sounds like
I got demoted. But my tag team partner's slot is
no longer.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, I'm trying to think of what no no, no,
no no, I got it. Main event tie, Main event
tie is out here. I am, I am TI, I
am the wise man in this situation. Ring Manager Jones
taking bumps gonna turn on you eventually.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
You flipped that. Oh okay, hopefully, hopefully we'll make it
too when we get to out for the anniversary celebration.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Bullethoorn, go Jimmy Hart.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah yeah yeah, pup some ratings now, man, I'm thankful.
I'm super excited to see you and I first want
to give a nod to Desmond Pal shout out to
our fellow nineteen media group member. Dez contributed to the website,
so we recommend you all visit Gimmick infringementpod dot com,
click on the writing section and check out DES's new article.
(01:25):
It's entitled The Ball Is Life. It's a reflection on
basketball and the life lessons that come with playing the
game and being around the game for so long. Dez
is just always I mean, they call him the young
Goji for a reason, Brad, He's just always a reflective,
great guy. And of course, long time listeners and viewers
of Gimmick Infringement No, Dez, you know who we're talking about.
(01:46):
But this article is just a really beautiful meditation on
where he's at in life and thinking about how basketball
has been a vehicle to so many life lessons and
discovering his identity as someone who's in their twenties. So
big nod to Dez. You can also check out my
latest article, same website, same section. I celebrate the five
year anniversary of Kailani's It Was Good Until It Wasn't album,
(02:09):
my favorite. I have the vinyl mat behind me, but
somewhere in this room. It's important. It had to be recognized,
and I encourage you all to check out that piece
and let us know what you think about Guess's article
about Kilani's anniversary, about pro wrestling and pop culture, which
we're going to get into shortly. You can leave us
a comment here on YouTube. You can find us across
the social spaces. When I say that, I may mostly Facebook, Instagram,
(02:33):
and the artists only known as Twitter at gipod nineteen Brad.
All that being said, I am grateful. It's a great
Mother's Day. I know we're recording on Mother's Day itself,
so I'm so thankful for all of the amazing moms
in my life, including my actual birth mother. Who is
I like to say the goat feeling very great today,
very excited to see you. I know we're going to
(02:54):
get into a lot of fun conversations today. But before
all that, how are you, my friend?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
I'm doing great? I know can Lonnie's not back there
because I'm sure we're gonna say the words in a
little while, but we're gonna have step you know what?
Speaker 1 (03:07):
You know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what time
it is? I got you?
Speaker 2 (03:11):
We should you know what potential potential sponsorship opportunity for
all of you listening out there, if we could get
some actual Steff watches, that would be amazing. Happy, happy
to shill that on our podcast. I'm doing great. It's
great inside the house right now, wonderful in here outside, Tyler.
(03:32):
I went to go get some some Mother's Day coffee
this morning. I thought, I'm gonna go just be nice,
get up, you know, early, go go get an iced
Chelly donut breve with extra raspberry from Dutch Bros. And
I couldn't decide. When I got there, I was like,
just just give me another one, and could do two
of those and a kid's chocolate milk out the door.
Waited forever, crazy busy there This morning. I stood outside
(03:56):
in that wind, like twenty thirty mile an hour, just
just wind, not gusty, just leaf blower out there, hot
desert wind, just constant stream of wind, with all that
tree poison floating around, absolutely bonkers out there, new construction
all over that area. I was like, I don't know
how the Lord is going to take me, but it's
(04:19):
probably going to be because of this right here, standing
out in all of this, I got the immune system
of a like a cum quat, and I'm out here
standing and just debris in the sky waiting for some breadves.
And it was worth it. It was so good. And
we started off Mother's Day right. Happy Mother's Day to
(04:40):
all the moms out there. I just got off of
FaceTime with my mom before talking to you in the
production meeting. It's a beautiful day. The sun is out.
I'm excited to go out to dinner with the fan
today and then and then catch thunderbolts afterward. The students
have been bugging me about it. You gotta go, you
gotta go, you gotta go. I don't have time, man like,
this is the only time. There's the only window of
(05:01):
opportunity I have. I also got to go work and
do my job. There's all kinds of things happening right now.
We've got concerts, we got graduation coming up. I got
to update the great Book. I was going over all
kinds of plans for the future with you. I have
plans for the future. I haven't even written down yet.
There's so much on my mind. And I haven't even
talked about the playoffs, Tyler. We haven't talked about the playoffs.
(05:23):
Mostly because I'm trying to purge it from my memory.
Proud of the Pistons. I'm kind of rooting for the
Knicks here because I hate the Celtics that much. But

So much stuff, so much stuff happened this week. This
week feels like its own, its own month. It's wild
(07:13):
and you know with with with any action there comes
to consequences or a backlash, and backlash happened, and boy
were there consequences, mostly for me watching it. But I
can't wait to get into it.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Tyler. Hit me with your WWE question. That's a great tease.
I have a feeling how you may answer my question.
But we'll get to that in just a moment, Brad,
you actually did, in fact tease this earlier, give me infringement.
We have two very important words around here. Some are
saying the two most important words on this podcast. Steph Watch,
(07:50):
Steph Watch. It's official. This may be the shortest Steph
Watch today. By the way, this week, Wick, it is official.
Stephanie Bucker will defend her NXT Women's Championship against newly
mint a number one contender Jordan Grace at Battleground on
the twenty fifth. Unfortunately, we won't be able to catch
that live, which we'll get into later. But I am
excited what we are gonna watch live that night.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Oh, I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
And competition is good for the industry, and you can
just probably acknowledge a competition as competition. But that's a
topic for another episode perhaps. Okay, here's my question, Brett NXT.
I'm sorry NXT Battleground No. I wrote that twice WWE
Backlash premium live event with the other b name.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah please?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Overall, was the show a hit or a miss for you? Uh?
CEZ was a miss?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
It was such a miss for me. The women's match great,
the four way was a lot of fun after that,
I don't know it missed the way that Drew did,
and I hope he's just gonna be okay. That scared
the crap out of me. Man, Like that looks so bad,
(09:00):
ad I I like, it's nobody's fault. Stuff happens. It's
a live event and things are going fast, and people
are going going through tables and crap like they're nine
feet tall, eight hundred pound people throwing each other around.
Crap's gonna happen. I just hope he's okay. And to
have it be at a big poe with like some mistakes,
(09:22):
it just I don't know. I thought the show was
there were parts of it that were really fun. There
were parts of it that were really bad, and it
wasn't like they were I don't want to say that
they were performed poorly because I don't. I don't think
that's what I'm trying to say. Just a bunch of it.
The easiest thing is the bunch of it just wasn't
(09:44):
for me. It just wasn't for me. Going through Pat McAfee,
I don't care. I don't care, like I just don't care.
The no nobody thought like, oh Randy's gonna walk away
with this one. Nobody thought that Randy was gonna be
john Cena for this. This was this was cool in
that this was probably it for them, right Like I
met Randy and Johnson are running it back during his
(10:06):
farewell tour, So for for.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
That was cool.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
The the AA counter into an r KO was cool.
That that was really good. But otherwise they made it
a five moves of Doom match and it was just plotting,
and oh it was. It was hard to watch because
it was so slow. I found myself getting really bored.
(10:32):
And they had way too many interference finishes. Was like
almost all of them had interference in it, and I
just yeah, do whatever once in a while, or or
have one or two on the card, But it can't
be the vast majority of your card has tom Foolery
in it because I don't don't. I don't know why,
because because I guess why is it a p l E?
(10:57):
Like what makes a p l E tyler? Because last
to that question, what makes it different from a raw
or SmackDown? Because they still have commercial breaks?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah right right, yeah, yeah, that they do, especially for
US peasants on the basic we can see so many
Morgan and Morgan ads before it just you know, get
a step away. Sometimes I would say, I mean straight
up the matches that you get, there's just this vibe that, Okay,
if this match is going to be on a pl E,
either it is the crescendo to a worthy food, food
(11:26):
to a worthy feud, or it's a match yeah, or
to match that I know just based on the star power,
just based on the anticipation. We can only get this
at a pl E. That's the formula for me. Either
the rivalry is worthy of it or it's just oh,
we've been waiting for these to go at it. It
can't happen on a RAR SmackDown. It has to happen
(11:48):
at the biggest show of the month.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Do you feel like those expectations were met?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
That's and that's the part for me where it's like
this just didn't really feel like a PLEE. It had
pl present Haitian, but it didn't have pl E substance,
And I think that's fine every once in a while.
Like I don't think it was like a terrible event
by any stretch.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
I was.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
I was entertained for the bulk of it. I just
found myself going like, oh, this is this, this is it? Huh?
And that was and that was my problem was like, okay, fine,
it's sort of like looking at you know, if you
wanted to take it with with a W. We got
Samoa Joe and John Moxley in a steel cage. We
have the I think the last champ right before before
(12:39):
Daniel Danielson, it was it was Joe to SWERVEX.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, So we have a former a W champ fighting
the current a W champ, Samoa Joe, scary dude, John Moxley,
scary dude, locked inside of a cage. Gonna be on
T at least. The TV thing is a named event.
It's Beach Break, It's it's a named event on TV.
That's kind of what Backlash felt like to me, was
(13:08):
a name TV event rather than a pl E. And
it's the easiest way I could describe it, you know,
it's it's like blooder Guts or something like that, where
you put a title on it, you put it on
a weekend, you can even look at it as a
Saturday night main event. This felt more like a Saturday
night main event than it did a pl E. After WrestleMania,
(13:30):
and I also think that, you know, to no fault
of their own. What do you do after mania? You know,
like it's it's okay. Mania is the ultimate culmination in feuds.
It's rarely the start of the new feud. It could
be the continuation of some stuff. But do you pull
the trigger on something that fast after Mania? If people
(13:50):
got beat down or betrayed or whatever, does it immediately
go to the next poe or do you build on
that for a while? And you know, how do you
make those decisions? I don't en be them because no
matter what you do, people are going to be mad. Right,
I'm not mad. I just didn't feel like a pla
to me. But it was fine. I just feel like
it was a mess. I wasn't excited for backlash and
(14:12):
I left going, you know what, I was right?
Speaker 1 (14:15):
How about you? Yeah? Well I'm mad. I thought I
could sleep it off and be less upset, but I'm
just not. This was such an upsetting choking up my water.
This was such a this this was such an upsetting show.
I'm glad. I'm glad we can laugh about it now.
(14:35):
That was that was actually very hilarious production. Please you
know what to do? There? The biggest Winners of the Night.
Jacob Flats who Enlabra Valkyria. I thought they were great.
I am always I am always in support of companies
building new stars, establishing new people as faces of your divisions.
Jacob Flatsu, Oh my gosh. I don't know what Paul
(14:58):
of that Triple Ahian company works back when they brought
him in, but this has to be exceeding even their
best case scenario. He's gotten over with the audience so quickly,
and he is just musty TV for me every time
he's on Big Winner. Of course he was going to
win the Fatal four way, but I just thought it
was validating in terms of how Saint Louis reacted to him.
And then Whyra getting to win over Becky. I will
(15:20):
say I was surprised, Brad. I did not think she
was going to retain. I'm so happy she either. Yeah,
because again you're establishing that next generation of the stars.
We'd love to see it like you, although it might
be more upset than you. The rest of this card
is where it really started to trail off for me.
Dominic mysterio. Listen, I'm not going to slander Dominic, but
(15:44):
he had his moment to win the title at Mania.
I'm ready for him to drop the title to somebody else.
That's just me that match, like you said, with the
interference element of it, El Grande Americano showing up, this
means we're getting closer to the Luccha Brothers reforming. Perhaps
that's a win, but the interference there, and prior to that,
(16:05):
Becky was trying all these nefarious ways to win the match.
That just got absurd to me. Then we get into
Gunther versus Pat McAfee. I would love to have thoughts
for you, Brad, but I didn't watch much of this match.
You and I have reached a level of friendship where
we will often send voice memos to each other, and
these will often exceed five, six, seven minutes. So I
(16:26):
thought to myself, you don't if the content is fitting.
So this was the perfect time in the show for
me to send you a seven minute voice memo. I
told you, I just walked away. I didn't even mute it.
I just walked away and said I'm protecting my piece.
I don't need to see this.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
You did the rock. This guy sucks. I'm gonna go
take a leak and then just dip.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yeah, I Just to your point, this card, particularly this
match was not built for me. I recognize that, and
I made I made a business decision for myself, and
I just stepped away and sent you a long voice memo.
But the fact that Gunther didn't just squash Pat McAfee
in three minutes, I don't have anything else to say
(17:09):
about it. I'm glad Guther got the win. How they
booked Pat McAfee to nearly break out of Gunther's sleeper
hold that he had on him for like thirty to
forty seconds it seemed. And then we have to put
over Pat McAfee in this match against one of our
established killers on the roster, at least a former killer
(17:31):
on the roster. I completely disagree with how that went down.
And then finally Brad Winchester the main event, Randy Orden
versus John Cena. Big shout out to Randy Orden, big
shout out to Saint Louis. I mean, this pl was
built on the fact that the hometown hero is going
to be in the main event. Like tickets were moved,
that was a packed house business wise, bravo there, John
(17:55):
Cena as Champ. I mean, I guess there's no turning
back now. But the nostalgia, the excitement about what this
could potentially be, it's completely evaporated for me. The match
versus Cody at WrestleMania was already unforgivable, and then this
match overbook City interference ref bumps, nick All, this bumps,
(18:21):
Jamie Noble, nick All, this, Jason Jordan KOs. They were
getting killed back there, which which is kind of fun.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Yeah, that was great.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
I did laugh at that.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
I wouldn't keep it, but that's a contract signing.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
It's yeah. And then our Truth factoring into the future
Hall of Famer, no doubt, our Truth factoring into the
main event championship match, and then this could potentially rumors
are lead to John Cena versus Our Truth at Saturday
(18:53):
Night's main event in a couple of weeks. It's just
surreal to me. I did not expect five this is
what we would be delivering as a main event. I'll
say this brand and then I'll kick it back to you.
I was so upset last night and even waking up
this morning that I had to go back. I went
(19:14):
on to Peacock today this is a true story, and
I pulled up an XT stand and deliver from just
a few weeks ago, and I went to the main
event of that show, Javon Evans versus Trick Williams versus Obafemi,
and I just wanted my hope, restored my hope in wrestling,
my hope in humanity, my hope that I deserve nice things.
(19:36):
And I thought, wait, NXT has the formula. That triple
threat match is a pl main event. It's grabs, it's athleticism,
it's intensity, it's building fresh stars. It was just giving
me everything I wanted. And the women's four way before
that was also fantastic and was better than John c
universus Randy Orton. I know this match, though, was built
(19:58):
on one last time element. You know, you have two
veterans of the industry going at it once more in
Randy's hometown. I get it. I was actually somewhat looking
forward to this match based on that. But this scene
a run is already leading me to ask you, are
(20:19):
we sure that turning John cen a heel was the
right move for this last title.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Run, not for a title run.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Now, I'm not having a good time. Another another nutshot.
I don't I don't cracking with the belt one two, three,
is that gonna be just how we're ending these matches
for the next three months, Because if so, I'm gonna
be sending you more more voice memos away from the
television during the show.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
That's what I don't mind him doing the heel stuff.
I don't mind him like I feel like he should
be doing cheating in within his own realm, Like when
he does the five knuckles shuffle, it should be with
brass nuts on his hand or something, you know, like
do the same stuff but just worse or in a
(21:08):
cheety way. It's just using the title and then having
commentary site that that that title shot on the ref
bump as one of the most vicious title shots he's
ever seen. He hit him like that Hogan TNA chair shot,
and that was just vicious, and it's like, wait, you
need to stop. He saw it.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Wasn't he unconscious for like four or five minutes. I
mean it was just right and like stuff just didn't
make sense. Okay, the first ref goes down, he gets
back up, then he gets he hits his head on
the on the steps, and he did and he was fine,
but like he hit his head on the steps, and
it gives a good reason to justify that, Hey, let's
get some doctors out. Nobody comes out, send another ref
(21:51):
he dies. Now people care? Now, people care. And the
thing that got me is they sent all these officials out.
Not one of the damn people that came out there
was a doctor. They sent like lawyers, Like what are
they gonna.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Do, like sue the concussion? There's what is happening here?
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Nick?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
All this is out there to go like, Hey, if
you don't do this, we're gonna book the Undertaker, Like
you can't, what do you? What is happening? Just make
it make sense? And then we're getting the goofy John
Cena smile smart thing they do, just a I'm gonna
stare at the camera with the audience and go, h
I'm up to something now, and it's and it's just
(22:30):
goofy and and the whole time I was like, go faster,
for the love of all that's good. I can't even
remember all the moves in this match because ninety nine
of them were just attitude adjustments and r.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
KOs and spam finisher. Yeah, it's just ask that, you know.
That was That was a stage of w W and
the not not so Distant pass. I just thought we
had moved on, and granted, we are all gonna miss
John Cena when he's gone. If anyone deserves their flowers on,
they're fine to run. It is him.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
But that's the point, showcase, what you can do now exactly?
Speaker 1 (23:05):
My taste in wrestling match has so evolved and it's
just okay, So WrestleMania, last thing I'll say, maybe WrestleMania
Travis Scott appears, No Rock, that's already strike number one,
that may even be deserving of two strikes. And then
for this match, John Cena wins. No surprise there, and
(23:28):
then after you remember this, after the match, he gets
on the mic, Saint Louis, you peasants, I am the
last real champion. I am looking for real competition, do
dot a Brett? Is it just me? Or did you
think someone was gonna come out? Did you think we're
gonna get? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Because why do it otherwise?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Why it so we get? We get? The executive producers
Paul avec Oh, Yeah, you know, okay, okay, this is
a swerve. I've been watching long enough. It's either gonna
be seeing punk or it's gonna.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Turb your enthusiasm. Credits pop up like we're gonna we're
gonna get something.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
But then you end the show with just that again.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah. No, I'm with you, man, I'm with you. And
then we got Our Truth taking a bump through table
at the press conference.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, and then certain xtren event is going to be
built around potentially John Cena versus Our Truth. I'm still
out as two weeks. That's the same weekend as as
battl Rhythm. Yeah, that's Saturday, the twenty fourth, that's coming
up less than two weeks.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
That'll a birthday celebration, got it?
Speaker 1 (24:30):
So two weeks, two weeks, something good is happening.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
The two weeks, I think they can foster enough sympathy
where the crowd will be firmly behind our Truth and
want to see him win. And they'll build a lot
of hope spots in there. And I promise everybody you
can just put it on your DVR and watch it later.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
It's just the show will potentially be built around Scena
versus Truth and Logan Paul versus Jay Ussa that I'm
not watching. I'm not watching that, y'all. Really.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Tody Cody returns probably that night, probably, Yeah, good call
or see him Punk Rushes in to interfere with the
beatdown of Our Truth after the match when when Sina
kills him, good call because he doesn't want to fight
him because he's his hero.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Please add an Eo Sky or Bianca bell Air or
gets Steph on that card so that I'll tune into something,
but just based on what we could possibly get from
those two matches, respectfully, not for me, but this time
I'll actually have the foresight to not put myself through
through watching it. I love what I'm really down on
it right now, Brat.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I love Our Truth and I think I think that
he deserves his flowers for all he's can you know,
contributed to the w W over the years, and he's
got to be getting close too. He's got like kids
in college and they could be easily wrestling in the
w W this point too. So yeah, I can so
he truly is, and I would love to see him
at some point when the big belt and just hold it,
(25:57):
even if it's if it's briefly, and if he beats
scene it would be briefly. What a way to f
up his entire title run to have Our Truth win
this belt off of him at Saturday Night's main event,
that would get me to go like, Okay, I'm back
in because what is happening?
Speaker 1 (26:15):
This is so messy. You want you know what can
get me back in if Our Truth just says, you
know what I talked to Adam Pierce, I'm nominating someone
who's gonna wrestle on my behalf and then we can
finally get montes Ford in a singles title match. How
is it in twenty twenty five? Fully respectfully Our Truth
potentially in a title match of Saturay nights me in
(26:37):
the event, but montes Ford coming up on forty has
not had that opportunity yet. I think about he's a
champion though he's a champion. Shout out to shout out
to Angela Dawkins too.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Since it's since it's the same day, is it the
same city? Is main event and battleground same city?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
That's a good question. I think they're both in Florida.
I think it's leaning into this whole like Takeover taken
over a weekend kind of. I'm pretty sure it's in.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Florida, but it's the same day, right, No.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
It'll be different, Yeah, cool, So it'll be it'll be
that Saturday night for the main event, and the Sunday
will be bad or ground to compete with double or nothing.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Okay, forgive my ignorance. There our truth, our truth makes
the call. Oh my gosh, Obafemi John Cena would be
that would be fun.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
And I just tell you, Brett and this, this is
no surprise. You know me. I've shared this on air
if Oba fem Me and Stephanie Baucier did not exist
right now, I just I just don't know. I have
to believe there's hope for w W and they're building
EO Sky but an amazing.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Maybe Truth talks to his boys, Solo Soca. Maybe he
talks to Solo and says, hey, hey, so so my
question for you, Tyler. Okay, I'm skipping a bunch of contexts.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
I don't even realize when he gets your question.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Oh that's why I was like, we gotta, we gotta go.
I thank you for Jeff cobbs debut and the w
W whether he'll remain Jeff cob or not. They didn't
actually say his name. We'll see what happens there. He debuted,
he's there, Tyler, what do you think of the bloodline
two point zero since Roman's return.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
It's it's not been great. I as a group, yeah, sure,
not not as individual star as fought he was amazing, right, yeah,
of course of course, and he and and and the bloodline.
Whole saga was essential in promoting Jashou Fatua where he
is now. It's not been great. And I think an
(28:33):
issue for w w REE has been Solo Soca and
how you warmed him up. He brad. He challenged Cody
Rhodes for the Big Belt at SummerSlam last year, less
than a year ago, and now he feels like a
total schmuck.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yes, yes, so it's indicative fighting Tody Roads and now
he's just sort of.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
And we knew this. We knew this was gonna happen
once that match was announced for the NEFT debut on
rawback in January, Roman versus Solo for the Ulafala, And
once we saw that match play out and Roman beat him,
I'm quite sure we can roll the tape back. You
and I started talking about, Okay, well, now Solo served
his purpose. He's been a big deal for the past
(29:16):
six months to a year on programming. What is his
next move? Jacob insert Jacob Fatu absolute superstar and Solo
has just felt so many levels underneath these guys that
I think it's been a product of they've really cooled
him off, and obviously I would think the move is
(29:37):
going to be Jacob Fatu versus Solo Socoa for the
US Championship. Maybe that's even the Summer Slam match two
nights SummerSlam Jones this year. But it's not been great,
and I think part of the issue is Solo has
cooled off in such a massive way. I would hope
that bringing in Jeff Cobb can insert some much needed
juice and excitement into this because Jeff Cobs certainly a
(29:58):
vet of the industry, someone you and I enjoy white
a bit, doesn't look like anyone else on the roster.
I think he's going to be brand new for a
lot of the w WE universe. And I actually think
it was a really smart move for them to bring
him in because my gosh, the bove line two point
oh storyline now it needs something, and I trust those
three guys that they can they can give us something
worth worth investing in.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I think Jeff Jeff Cobb might have the the only
person that has a wider face than Jeff Cobb with
a body that size is maybe rhino.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
Maybe like the dude is just.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Like he's built like a tank. He's an enormous human being.
We've seen him work for for years. He was incredible
in New Japan. Like dude is underground, underground. I totally
forgot when I was looking up man. He's been around,
and he's been popular for a long time, and and
people wanted him in there. I agree with you. I
think he's going to be He's going to breathe some
(30:53):
life into it. My fear, probably similar to yours, I
don't want to speak for you, is that he will
also overtake what Solo has and now Solo is even
third in his own faction. I don't really know what's
going on with the Tongas. There's just sort of like
there's lots of moving parts here, and I don't really
know what any of the parts, how they fit together,
(31:15):
if they fit together, if it's worth it. Jacob Fott,
who has transcended all of that. In my mind, he
is a main eventor he so tyler. He had been,
you know, on everybody's radar for years. Everybody knew he
was the best one, like maybe the best wrestler in
the family. Absolutely over with everybody thinks that like he is,
(31:37):
he's incredible. It was all the legal stuff that got
in the way and w W we just didn't want
to touch it. Specifically, I think Vince didn't want to
touch it. Well, obviously he's not here anymore, and now
look what happened when you give a person like that
a chance. It kind of felt similar to me for
very different reasons, but similar to me. Why like the
(31:57):
Briscos weren't on TV and then you know, flash forward
you got Mark Brisco, who I feel like has a
similar issue right now as Solo Soca in aw uh
in that like that steam seems to have kind of
run out, like the Wow, we hope he can get there.
We hope he can get there. When he got there,
and now what where Solo was like, oh he might
(32:19):
get there, he might get there. He didn't. And now
what it's if if the heel loses the big moment,
what do you do? Then? I feel like at that
point you got to turn a babyface to give the
audience something to get behind, or they're the heel that
lost and now nobody takes them seriously because they lost
(32:40):
and they it was It's fine if you've been winning
for a long time, because you can recover from that.
But he has never won anything, so anything, I think
so has he won anything on the main roster.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Not that I can recall of such. But let's also
not forget. And I was in the building for this
brad that SmackDown. This was what febus weary twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Three, I think three three or four might have been
twenty twenty four.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Yeah, it was a minute ago. It was leading up
to WrestleMania forty. Yeah, and the Rock was in the house.
Roman was in the house, and Solo was also in
the ring, and fans were not just chanting for the
Rock a Roman, they were channing for Solo. He was
that guy. He was next up. And it just seems like, Wow,
(33:27):
there's been such a tremendous not in a good way,
a tremendous cool off from that point. And to me,
that doesn't feel Wrestleming in forty does not feel like
it was all that long ago. And yet Solo has
just been pegged down so many notches that I hope
with the insertion of Jeff Cobb, not only can the
bloodline sort of be heated up, but just Solo as
(33:51):
a member of that roster can be seen as a
viable threat for in this case US title contention. Although
I don't know that I would book Jacob Fatu maybe
at all this year. Right at the same time, I
want Solo to not be a chump. That that would
make me happy.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
You know. I think they could. They could probably lean
into it a little bit and and have him do
since he's got Omaga's finisher, have him go unhinged, have
him lose it, like I can't keep losing like this,
I keep doing And then suddenly he comes out and
he's wearing like part of Umaga's face paint, and then
he just kind of adds to it as he slowly
(34:28):
tears through everybody on the roster, building his way up
until it's like, Okay, this unstoppable person is there. Now
that could be really cool, because the only only path
after that is like try to create something new, or
he's got to start dancing and doing stink faces.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Looking back on it, he's.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Got it too hoty right now, Like that's.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Maybe this is a bit of revisionist history, but I'm
quite sure I said this in the moment. I think
a lot of this could have been corrected if you
just have Solo win that match and keep the Ula falla. Yeah,
Roman Reigns wouldn't I'd have been affected. Roman Reigns can
still main event Night one of Mania. But the fact
that he went over on Solo, I just worried at
(35:08):
the moment that that would do additional harm to the
character of Solo. So and frankly, I think, I I
think I've been proven right, Brad.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
I think what they could have done that would have
made the most sense. There have Roman win, he wins
the Ulafalla, but like in a way where he like
really beats up Solo, and then the rest of the
bloodline just gets behind Solo, and then he has no
choice put to hand it over and now and now
Solo has the Ulafalla. He's the he's the head of
(35:37):
the table. Roman is in this lost place. He's not
a good guy, bad guy. We don't know what he
is anymore. And that's that's interesting. Yeah, but it's not
the But it's not the fun Netflix event. To kick
off a new business page which we got to hear
the the logistics of from the Rock that was exciting,
where he broke character and talked about Hey billionaire is great.
(35:58):
See you thank you all for paying more money than
anybody's ever paid ever to enter a building for us.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yes, yes, yeah, remember the fan. The last thing I'll say,
truly the fan. Yesterday I got a lot of attention
on social media. Yeah, I sold my car for these
tickets and brilliant move. I don't know if that is,
if that is factual, but you knew that it was.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
Yeah, it's just kind of a sign of the times
of Yeah, I imagine how much I take a clause.
Probably it's probably a kid to whatever. You know, a
four door vehicle Sedaan is going for these days, used
on the market.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Yeah, we can go on and on and about that,
because you know it's it's it's a sensitive conversation.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
We all have vehicles.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
They're all expensive, and I know how you feel about
the dealership compared to the dentist. But I also know
that if we start talking prices, one of us is
going to cut a promo. And I have a hybrid
promo here, Tyler. I think it's more of a what
happened here? Though, So play the music.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
What happened here?
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Tyler? I'm where to begin. I saw some things this weekend.
Things I can't unsee, things that aren't going to haunt
my dreams for the rest of time. Often in my classrooms,
I talk about unwritten rules, and we talk about the
bathroom rules. We have bathroom rules. We know the urinal rule.
(37:38):
If you were a man, you know the urinal rule.
Similar to that, if I'm going to pick up some
Dutch bros. And there's three parking spots, I feel like
the urinal rule also applies to the parking spots. Don't
take the center parking spot. You a whole. Now, I
had to go to the bathroom, so I walked up front.
There was ap testing in the library, so I want
to use the office bathroom.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
I just had to.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
I had to go number one. Now I walked into
the room. There's only one jurnal and there's one stall
up in the main office. Urinal was occupied. So I
headed over to the stall. Out of my perif because
very tall man that I don't know at the urnal
peripheral vision, you know, I see gray hair, tropical shirt,
(38:22):
and I was like the rest of it's none of
my business. But I got this like flash of neon
and I thought I saw something funky going on here.
So I shut the door and I was getting ready
to go, and I was like, I gotta know, so
I kind of through the crack the bright green neon
were his spandex boxer briefs because his pants were fully
(38:47):
down around his ankles, like a like a toddler tyler,
like a four year old with his papa out at
a sporting event somewhere, like yep, you go ahead and
go peepe. I'll be over here, okay, just make sure
you pull up your trousers when you're done. So I
was standing there just mystified, going like I don't even
(39:08):
know how to react. This is a professional, that's that's
that works here, that it's it's not, you know, a
permanent job. But you know, like he's around the kids,
just standing there going like do I tell someone? This
is Like I don't what if a kid walks in
and this guy's just dropped trou out. I don't know
if I care. I don't know if it's a big deal.
I don't know what the rules are here. I don't
know what I don't know what to do. And then
(39:29):
before I could even decide to, you know, get ready
to go myself, I heard the toilet flush. I heard
the belt buckle jingle jangle, and then I heard the
door open and shut. Not only did this man have
a khaki ring of death around his feet, he pulled
those bad boys up and just left. He went right
by the very functional two sinks, the soap available, and
(39:54):
out into the wilderness. Now, Tyler, it's later determined when
I asked whoever this fellow is, because I don't know
their name, they have a doctorate. My question to you is,
if you are caught publicly urinating with your pants around
(40:16):
your ankles and don't wash your hands, should your doctorate
be revoked? That's the only question I have for you.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
I mean it has to right.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
What the hell happened here?
Speaker 1 (40:28):
I am?
Speaker 2 (40:29):
I am, I out of my mind? Here is this?
Speaker 1 (40:31):
No, this is really when we envisioned the what happened
here segment? I mean, this is the perfect candidate. I
think your doctorate asked to be removed. I mean, what
other potential option is there? Just there has to be
that's justice.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
I got to call the I r B back up
and be like, listen, I know you approved the research
at some point, but this is just pull it. Yeah,
just assume assume that it's faulty.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
And then then now washing the hands, come's just maybe
maybe we could tall if you spent those twenty seconds
and you did what you needed to at the sake,
But you didn't the hubris brad, the SCHARBACTERI.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Yeah, whenever I wash my hands, paper towel, paper towel,
paper towel, I dry my hands off, I hold onto
that paper towel to open up all the handles, and
I throw it out in the nearest trash cans when
I get out of there, because I do not want
to touch bye By like a by transference. I don't
want to be touching that guy. I just don't want
(41:30):
nothing to do with that. I don't like thinking about that.
But yeah, then the neon caught me like a road sign.
And then I found out why I wish I could
un I wish I could unsee things. I wish I
could unknow things. I wish that I could just go
back in time and tell myself just walk all the
way down to the J building and do it down there,
(41:50):
just bypass that end, just keep on going. Yeah, but
I didn't. I didn't because I thought, no, I'll go
where I know all the professionals are was I disappointed?
Psich Tyler, It's there's no easy transition out of this.
Let's go to AW. Let's talk. Hit me with your question.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
We must AW makes its Arizona pay per view debut
in less than two weeks, very very exciting times here.
As of this recording, Brad, two matches are announced the
Owen Cup Finals Hangman versus Osprey and Mercedes versus Hater.
My question and I do have options. What's the next
match you'd like to see added to the card? Now?
(42:32):
I want to give you my options because I'm expecting
by this week, by the next time you hear see us,
we will have more matches announced on this card. Granted
or mind you, Brad, I would just be happy with
these two matches. I will feel like it's money well spent.
I will just be thrilled that I got to breathe
the same areas as these four people seeing Mercedes for
the first time live. It's a big deal. However, it's
(42:55):
now or ever we have to really build out this card.
Here are my options, and then again I want you
to choose, or you can just choose your own option.
Four matches. I'm potentially thinking of first anarchy in the arena.
Maybe Stadium Stampede and State Farm Stadium is just a
short walk from Desert Diamond Arena. And of course that
would be the Death Riders versus let's say some the
aforementioned Samoa, Joe Swerve, Stricklyn and some other teammates. That's
(43:20):
Option A, Option B Willow. Now I'll start using last names.
I feel more proper when I do that. Option B Willow,
Nightingale versus Marina Shaffir, two of your favorites. That's a
winches are special right there? Option ce A returning a
victorious this week sky Blue versus Timeless Tony Storm presumably
(43:41):
for aw Women's World Championship. Or Option D the Hurt
Syndicate hear me out, consisting of Bobby Lashley, Shelton, Benjamin
and Cedric Alexander versus MJF and two mystery partners, whether
that be FTR or can I interest you in a
Phoenix's own Alex Hammerstone? What's the next match you like?
(44:04):
Seeatted to the card. You're welcome to choose any of
those four options or insert your own.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
I think the Hurt Syndicate, Yeah, I think Hurts Syndicate
MGF and two others. Whatever that looks like. I think
that would be good. Something something tells me we're getting
We're getting Christian Cage versus Nick Wayne here soon. That
will probably be on there. I have a feeling that
(44:33):
turn is gonna happen because they're leaning into it pretty hard,
which is good. I think that'll be good. I think
it'll be like our return to form for Christian Cage
coming back as a babyface. Maybe that's when we get
the reunion, but we'll see. I don't know if that'll
happen or not.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
I don't know if it needs to happen. I kind
of like what they've done on their own, but you know,
we all want it. We have got close in that
Rumble match and then that was that. I think, man, yeah,
out of all those options, if if we get Tony
Storm versus sky Blue, they're gonna put it on zero Hour,
and I don't want that. They are They're not going
(45:16):
to have her return and then immediately go out on
a pay per view. I just don't see that happening.
I also think Tony Storm will end up wrestling somebody
else for that night. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Who She's got to be on the card though, has
to be in the in the company, It has to happen.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
Maybe you have her on commentary for that night and
then she she dips to confront whoever wins the owen.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Yeah, and maybe that's all she does.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
But I don't know. Maybe she maybe she wrestles somebody
from another promotion. Maybe somebody comes out and does that.
Maybe she wrestles Athena. I don't know, like, give me something,
give me something, otherwise it's gonna be Willow and Mina
for sure, will Willow on the card. Yes, I know,
Uh fightful Select reported that there it's a contract year.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Yes's great call. What do you make of that?
Speaker 2 (46:08):
And that mean is gonna be coming to a W.
Both of those things are true, So I think that
I think Willa is gonna get paid. She's it sounds
like she wants to be in a W. If they've
given her, they put a ton of trust in her,
built her up. Do I think she's perfect for w W?
Speaker 1 (46:25):
E Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
I think that character is perfect for w W. Do
I think they'll allow her to be her now? So
I'd rather see her in a W because I think
what she's been able to do. There is awesome. Yeah,
I don't have anything else, but but Tyler, who do
you have?
Speaker 1 (46:43):
What do you got?
Speaker 2 (46:44):
What do you want to see?
Speaker 1 (46:45):
So one I'll clarify for me, Willow versus Marina from
the Death Riders would make.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Marina Shaffir for some arena. For some reason, I was thinking, mean.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
I'm here, I'm here for Sikawa pulling up in Glendale.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
Mina versus Tony Storm is what I want to see.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
Oh that okay, there we go.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
And that might be the match for her signing in.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Terms of there you go. In terms of storyline wise,
Willow Nightingale versus Marina Shaffir one on one, it seems
like it's been built for months upon months, and that's
because it has. Brad. We've been seeing this since what
December January the Max debut, So storyline wise, to me,
that would be a no brainer. Again, that would be
(47:28):
a great look for Willow to get a one on
one match on the card, and really for Marina Schaffir.
I think this could really cement She's been a foundational
piece of the Death Riders but hasn't necessarily got the
n ring shine. She's been doing a lot of backstage
work and a lot of interference. I would love to
see that match. I really think sky Blue. I think
(47:49):
if sky Blue wins the four way eliminator this week
on Dynamite, returning in her hometown of Chicago, that could
be a great look to have that match on the
Double or Nothing official card. Of course, we know Timeless
Tony's gonna win, but I would love to see sky
Blue back in action. What's the biggest guarantee though? For me,
it's that first option anarchy and the arena slash maybe
(48:12):
stadium stampede. I think that's frankly likely, probably gonna close
the show. You could sell me on Ospre versus Hangman
closing Double or Nothing or Ceo versus Hater. Something tells
me though, I don't know if I want this, but
I think the death Rider is going to close out
Double or Nothing, and I think that's gonna be That's
gonna be one of the matches on the posters. We're
(48:34):
gonna get Mox and Company versus Avengeful Samoa jokes. I
don't think Somemojo's winning this week. Samoa, Joe Swerve and
some other prominent some other prominent Baby faces. Maybe Willow
and Marina are added to.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
That makes the most sense that people are just always
complaining about Shafir's matches right because she because she works
the way she fought right, which is awesome. It's just
people aren't used to seeing what, you know, like real
combat looks like yeah, like every time she's in there,
it looks dope.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
But those two being in anarchy, I think it's the
first time women would be in the anarchy in the
Arena manage.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
And then I wonder what the rules look like for that,
because you know, the women are going to beat the
crap out of the men. I don't know that it'll
get done that way, except I can absolutely see Maxley
hitting Willow again with a you know, like a DDTE
or something.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
I wonder if the Bucks would get added to the
Death Riders squad. It seems like probably at some point
they're going to team with each other.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Yeah, well, maybe we'll see something happen where like they
get beat down. Part of the Death Riders could beat
down the Bucks step in, but they're currently floating around
Japan right now. I think so with the with the
Good Brothers, So I don't know what's going on. There either.
So Bucks came back and then they left right away.
So everything is a little bit weird with with relation
(49:53):
to the Bucks. But anarchy could be really good. I
would love to see anarchy. It's always it's always a
good time. This is we have stepp watch. But I
also feel like Keith Lee watch should be in effact
was Keith Lee? Is he okay? I really hope he's okay.
I know he's been struggling with hell stuff, but like man,
I would love to see him make a return soon.
And that would be fun having Keith Lee and Will
(50:16):
and Nightingale teaming up to do like stereo pounces.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
There you go and it's swerve and swerve and Keith
can reconcile because we were supposed to get that match.
I want to say, was that at years ago against
all odds, But this is not TNA we're talking about it. Yeah,
I want to say it was that. It was at
that December show before the New Year. Yeah, it was
supposed to be at that and it never happened. I
want to say that was the Slave Show headline by
m JF versus Samoa Joe where we got the reveal
(50:45):
of the devil and it it. It didn't happen because
Keith Lee, you know, was not healthy. I hope, like you,
Keithley's one of my favorite wrestlers in the world. I
hope we see him.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Was the Devil Reveal show? Was that all in? That
wasn't all in?
Speaker 1 (50:58):
That was? No, that was I don't know why I
escaping me. I could see the graphics and the the everything.
It was definitely the December show before the New Year.
I'm gonna I'm gonna look this up.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Unless you were oh yeah, go ahead, Okay, I'll ask
the question. Uh, since we're here, you basically took it
the only the only different, like dead serious. Mine was
about double or Nothing, and I said, there's two matches announced.
It's the two you brought up. And my question was,
is there anything that could be added to the card
for Double or Nothing but top either of those matchups?
Speaker 1 (51:31):
No pay per view? Name is World's End. By the way,
I don't know why I couldn't think that I could
see the asteroid, you know, coming to Earth and World's End. Okay,
there we go. No, No, absolutely not these two matches.
I was being a bit facetious, mind you, and I
started my question, but these two matches I have such
(51:53):
high expectations for. Again, I would be cool with either
closing the show, even though I think that's probably gonna
reserve for anarchy and the arena or stadium stampede. But
Mercedes versus Jamie Brad. When you and I were gearing
up from Mercedes to debut and Aw, one of the
dream matches we spoke of was the Jamie Hater match.
(52:14):
The fact that it's happening in our home state here
and you know, in my city of Glendale, I can't wait.
And then Hanger versus Osprey. You've built ostensibly Hanger's really
now a babyface. You've built two babyfaces, two people we
as AW viewers root for, but for very different reasons.
(52:35):
Redemption versus ascension. This is going to be so amazing.
I have such high expectations for both of these. I
would like to see a stacked card, I mean, not
two stycked. I don't want to be there for five
and a half hours. I know you feel the same way,
but I want to see great matches added to this. However,
I don't think there's any topping the two Owen Cup finals.
(52:56):
This Owen has been really great and these two matches
are just going to be I'm expecting match of the
Year candidates. By far.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
I completely agree with you. Maybe if you add something
like Kenny versus Okada again, or maybe Kenny versus Ricochet.
I can't like something that would really make me go
all right, this match is going to be incredible more
than anything else. But like Jamie Hayter first perside, I
thought Mercedes got hurt coming out of that balcony. Last
(53:25):
thing I want to say here, actually it's actually on
my what did we miss? But I can't. I can't wait, Tyler,
I laughed so hard at Taz calling the box seats
the gimmick balcony because he couldn't.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
I cackled at that. I could not stop laughing. It
was like five minutes like that, Uh, the gimmick balcony there,
the box seats. It's like, yeah, I couldn't think of
the word. I was laughing so hard at that. Oh,
just absolute joy.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Hearing people like aw leaning into the mistakes always makes
me so happy. Kimmick balcony. Maybe I was cackling.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
Brad, Brad, this is this is a big deal for you.
Though I've known you for many years now, I know
that Jamie Hayter and Will Osprey are two of your
favorite wrestlers in the entire industry. It is very possible,
if not likely, that we're gonna leave aw double or
nothing with two of your favorites being on top and
being title contenders. That's it. That's a that's a great
(54:23):
look for you. Yeah, I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
I think both of them are just I can't wait.
I can't wait, I can't wait. All I know is
that we're going to be there. We're going to get
to witness this live. I cannot wait for this night.
This is going to be amazing. They've never let us
down in Phoenix. I feel like we've gotten something from
every show so far. The first one Bumpy Bumpy, but
(54:49):
we got it was the worst ring.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Yeah, it was the worst of our experiences, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
But we also got to see a lot of our
favorites and we got to see some really cool in
ring action. We got to see a fair bloody evil,
you know. We we we got to see a lot
of stuff. And then we got Hangman Versus Swerve to open.
We got Sting and Darby winning the titles. That now
(55:15):
we're getting this now we're getting this and let's not
let's not forget that the live event earlier this year
was not incredible for for Dynamite and Collision. It was
a lot of fun. Was it perfect? No, But we
got to see all of these great people. We got
to see Uh. We got to see Cope wearing a
cowboy hat in the crowd.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
We got to see there was at Megan baying the
Christa arguably the match of the night.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
Julia's return. We got to see her come out with
her giant cloak up on that thing, with fire coming
up behind her. We got Yeah, that was so much. Yeah,
we got we got to see a lot of really
cool stuff. I'm excited about this as much as I'm
excited about anything in wrestling right now. So I Tyler.
This week I had a lot of time with Freya
(56:05):
a lot of times. Jess was out of town, and
we got to do something we haven't done in a while,
play the music. It's time for someday when you have kids.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
And now it's time for someday when you have kids.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
That's okay, I get I'm kind of winging this one.
There was so much going on that I wanted to
talk about it because I almost had a promo. Friday,
there was a dance show. Jess got back into town,
and Freya really wanted to go to the dance show
because miss Amy our our dance dance teacher at the
(56:41):
high school. Amy Evans shout out to her. Her daughter
and Freya are good friends. And the show got over,
not super late, but we got to clean up, lock
everything up, et cetera, et cetera, get set up for
the choir orchestra thing. Yesterday morning, we're getting done, and
it was so the girls want to go to I Hop.
(57:04):
I don't want to go to I Hop. Okay, I
got to be here in eleven hours and do this
over again, and I hop's gonna gonna interfere with that
process because I gotta get ready for that. And then
I got to get up super early to get donuts
and stuff to bring him to this whole thing. I
don't want anything to do with this. We went out.
It was I Hoop at night, which means it took
(57:28):
eighteen thousand years to get our food. They all came
out incorrectly, and then they said, okay, you had this,
you had this, I can take your card. They took
the card and just and I made eye contact and
it was kind of like, how much do we Oh?
Then they charged us for the kid's meal. The kid's
meal is supposed to be free after a certain time.
They took it off. We're just trusting that that happened.
(57:50):
No clue would happen. Kind of terrible. The kids had
a blast. Tyler, Someday, when you have kids, you are
going to see the joy that comes from having your
plans get ruined. It sounds bad, but it's kind of dope.
Tuesday night, mister Jim Addabury and his band played in
(58:12):
his last concert at Morana High School. I did not
get to go, And it wasn't that I didn't want
to go. I thought, you know, I'll go. I'll hang
out in the light booth or maybe sound and Frey
I can unmute and mute the mics when they come up.
She'd love to do that. I thought that would be
a lot of fun. She didn't want to go. Instead,
when I got home and I brought her home, what
happened when she came out and she was like, I'll
(58:35):
be right back. You gotta hang on a second. I
need to go get some paper.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
Okay, Tyler.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
She cut up all these strips with names on it
and we played charades for like two hours in the
living room. It was so much fun. We ended up
playing some charades with Mom on the phone while she
was in Indianapolis getting an award accepting an award that
she helped oversee for doing all kinds of rate work
with her job. She is a fena. I cannot express
(59:05):
to you how much fun I had that night. I
was exhausted. I was so tired. It was one of
those things where I just kind of want to sit,
I'm cooked, and then the kid comes out with a
bucket going like get up and act, I'm gonna guess
what you are.
Speaker 1 (59:20):
And it was.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
It was just a blast getting to have that quality time,
no tech in sight, absolute blast, and I hope you
get to experience that someday when you have kids.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Beautiful Charades highly underrated Frey of Winchester properly rated. Yes,
she's amazing Charades, kind of criminally underrated. Low key a
really really great crazy.
Speaker 2 (59:43):
Game, easy party game. Everybody knows what the rules are,
everybody knows what to do. Okay rules, yes, And it's
so simple and there's no real like we won. It's
just take turns and do it, yes, and then we
quit when we're done.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
That's kind of low stress of entry. That's not you say,
uh low you know, low stakes to answer the game
and people just have a good time. My biggest question,
I didn't want to interrupt you. Some part of myself
for not doing that. The I hop. Is this the
one cortro or any deal quarterro just down the road
when you pass into the others, like the Mountain View territory.
(01:00:17):
Of course it is okay, of course, of course it is. Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
It the food, the food, the food pretty good. I'm
not gonna lie. I enjoyed it. I could do with
about nine hundred percent less salt, but it was. It
was very good.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
It was just like I ate this right across the street.
Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
Yeah, yeah, I could well. And now like there's tons
of stuff around it, so much around it, Dutch Bros.
There's a couple of restaurants. Cereal Grillers is over there,
like we got all these. Uh, there's a there's a
Fu place. There's there's a couple, there's an Arby's.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
There's already was just the eye Hop and a bunch.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Of Yeah, there's a hospital like a small hospital back there,
or a pet hospital like I can't remember which, I think,
a hotel or some condos. Yeah and now yeah, yeah, yeah,
I went from dirt lot with an ie.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Hop Yeah remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Yeah, two buildings basically all the way to the front
of road.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Wow, Marana growing.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Or the railroad tracks which that light still hell on
Earth in case you're wondering, still still the worst light
in all of Pima County is really except.
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
No other you know, you know, let us know you're
experience wolf.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
But I know it's on the docket to get the
upgrade to go over the tracks and all that. Like
the rest of Tucson. This is this is what people
tune in for city planning, Tyler. People come to GI
to find out about the construction projects around Pima County.
Happy to provide the information for them. Tyler, what do
we miss? I go, you gotta no opportunities to stop.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
No transition doesn't. We're here to serve. That's what we
aim to do. Okay, what do we miss? Two items
from me this week? TNA prediction for you. I think
Trick Williams is dethroning Joe Hendry for the tea in
a World Championship at NXT Battleground. Yes, yes, only for
Mike Santana to defeat Trick Williams in New York in
(01:02:10):
July at TNA Slammiversary. I need this Texas in Mike
Santana is ready. What an inspiring story. Speaking of fatherhood, right,
I saw Mike Santana. There was an article about him
in USA today. I think last week that my dad
sent me shout out to my pops another goat who well,
Dad's go and Mike Santanna apparently also a great father.
(01:02:32):
It was just detailing his journey to sobriety, to being
a better dad, to being at the top of his
game in ring like he's been killing it since he
returned to TNA, and I think he's in store to
win the biggest prize on the men's side of the
of the company in his home state of New York
again at Slammiversary in July. It's coming up relatively soon.
(01:02:55):
I think it's gonna happen. I need it to be so.
And then finally the WNBA the regular season kicks off
this Friday. I don't know what my expectations are for
the Phoenix Mercury. I'm just Brad. I think I'm gonna
choose to live without expectations. Definitely feel that way about
the Suns moving forward and for the Mercury brand new
(01:03:16):
roster some may say revamped. I just hope for entertaining
games and ideally some wins. Caitlin Clark is a hot
pick to be MVP. I think the Minnesota Lengths are
going to be super motivated to win the title this year.
I'm really eager to see the coverage around the league
this particular season, how the w strategically looks for marketing
(01:03:40):
opportunities and other ways to elevate the game. Now is
the time. Can't wait to forget about Asia Wilson as well.
Can't wait for what's to store this regular season, and
I'm sure we'll be detailing the news and notes from
it this year on This Year podcast What Do We
Miss Bread? Did you get the shoes? Okay, that's a
whole separate conversation. Yes, I did, Hey, I did? No, yeah,
(01:04:01):
yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
So by the time I log gone, they were gone.
Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Yeah. Same here. Okay, but okay, I was so desperate
that for the first time in my life, I downloaded.
I didn't rob, I didn't I didn't rob anyone. I
downloaded the stock x app. Are you familiar with stock
x No, it's basically the stock I guess the cell
they pitch it the stock market for shoes where sellers
can sell shoes, but it's not necessarily there's a fixed
(01:04:27):
price if you want to buy now, but you can
also bid on it. So it's basically the stock market
slash eBay for sneaker heads.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
So the overhead costs are crazy, right. I know you've
had this experience where you buy something online, maybe more
than you would like, but you're you're willing to go
for it, and then when you've added it to cart,
you get all these additional fees. Shit. Free shipping is
not a thing on stock x. There's also these additional gist.
I paid way too much for these sneakers, Brad, but
(01:04:59):
I secure the a Ones. I was determined, and I
don't know future rep money went to these sneakers, so
I need to rebuild my savings account. But the sneakers
should be here at the end of the month, and
I am very excited. I got it. I secured the bag,
the a Ones. I'm coming to Glendale, amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Okay, can confirmed because I had to go on the
website to check that Wherete's is still signed with AW
After you brought up Santana, I was like, wait a second, Okay,
so no tweets since twenty twenty three though, so I'm
not sure if he's just done a different social network
or if he's just I don't know. Hopefully he's okay.
(01:05:38):
Only one thing on my list. I saw it before
we started recording. It popped up Pleach report popped up
on my phone. Shout out to doc if it was him.
Sabu died at sixty years old today had no idea.
I like to separate the art from the artists here
and say, like I appreciate all the years of him
(01:05:59):
just destroying his in the ring for our enjoyment, him
being what he is. Aside shocking to see somebody die
at a young age, not as shocking giving what that
do did to his body for all that time. I
don't know what the cause of death is or anything
(01:06:20):
like that, but thoughts to his family and to the
wrestling community that is impacted by this. But sab you've
gone at sixty and Will Osprey has a Assassin's Creed
Shadows crossover merch line on shop aw I've been playing
some Assassin's Creed Shadows when I have spirit my spare time,
(01:06:41):
which is not super often lately, or I have to
carve it out and just commit to it and go,
I'm not going to get the laundry done today or something.
But it's yeah, it's pretty dope, and I wanted to
get it, but Tyler, I don't want to spend thirty
eight dollars on the tee. It's too much. It's too
I wanted to update the wardrobe for the double or
nothing stuff, but I was just like, I can't, so
(01:07:03):
I'm gonna have to sell I'm not have to sell
my car for those tickets.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Way to bring it full circle, Yeah, it's crazy, man,
And there's just a lot of this obsously not the
podcast for it, but there's just a lot of I think,
existential worry about the cost of living and just so
many factors right now that that you know, the previous
discretionary income we had for will osp Bray teas or
or jackets anti basketball shoeser jackets. Granted, my eight one
(01:07:31):
is not an example of this, not not portraying me
in the best way, but some of that discretionary income.
Now it's like, you know what, maybe I should say that,
and maybe I should stock up on some items that
I know I'm gonna need. But you know, it's that
song and dancey and I do, and I think a
lot of our listeners and viewers do. Of a fun
part of being an adult and being knock on wood
gamefully employed is sometimes it feels good to buy stuff
(01:07:54):
you want, or that stuff you wanted as a kid
that maybe just wasn't in the cards. Now it's like, oh, shoot,
I got some I really want this thing. I'm gonna spend.
I'm gonna make up for it and save somewhere else,
but right now I want this and I'm gonna get it.
Because brat, I tried to get those eight ones. I
did my part. I logged onto the Nike app. I
logged on a foot locker at seven am when I
was supposed to, and and I couldn't. It couldn't happen.
(01:08:19):
The system crash. So I do not begrudge you whatsoever.
I hope the will Osprey Assassin's crete goes down in price.
I hope pro wrestling tease offers are responsible, free shipping,
discount and I hope you get the merch you want
this year. Hop so well. I hope that all of
you enjoyed this episode. It was it was one of
(01:08:41):
them ones. I had a great time. We hope you
