Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now Dammage Infringemen. Welcome everybody to the Gammick Infringement Podcast.
I am Brad Winchester with me as always as my
tag team partner Tyler McDowell, Blank and Tyler. It is
almost May as we record. This is the last recording.
In April, we were almost into the fifth month of

(00:25):
twenty twenty five. I can't believe that that's a sentence
that is true. There's no lies there. This year is
whipping by. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I did to hear a single lie. I hope it's
been good for you. I'm grateful, right, I'm happy to
be here. I'm really excited for all the conversations that
we are going to get into. I have some shout
outs as well for our supporters out there. One of
my favorite conversations that we've had this spring on air,
on air in particular, is that conversation about what's the

(00:54):
best pe.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
The best PE game? We got some thoughts and it
did numbers.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, yeah, we had we had a huge reception to
I'm so grateful for everyone who contributed their thoughts so
as to kick us off here and then I want
to hear how you're doing. I am so thankful for
many reasons. First and foremost is the continued support that
we receive from people near and far. So big shout
out to the following folks. Again, what is the best
pe game? That was the question a couple of weeks ago,

(01:17):
and we have responses. I want to begin with the
great Warrenshaw of nineteen Media. This response gott me, I
know you saw this too. Brad Ward said, the carnage
of dodgeball. Please and thank you. That's fantastic. That's exactly
a perfect way to describe dodgeball. There's a lot going on.
Desmond Pal All these people are great, by the way.

(01:39):
Desmond Pale, fellow nineteen Media member said, the parachute and
don't sleep on four square intense stuff. George Romero fred, oh,
do you want to jump in there?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Brat, No, No, that's right, he's right.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, he's right as well. Friend of the show and
former guest George Romero chimed in kickball and dodgeball, two
strong choices. George, we see you. And then finally, Sofia
Sophia Bedoni says, the thing with the big color sheet that.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
You sit under one hundred percent parachute. I think that's
what it's parachute, yes, yes, yeah, yeah, one hundred percent.
Uh yeah, the parachute game, dodgeball and kickball. I think
those are the three main pe activities. Shout out to
four square and and all the other ones that I'm
telling you that that lay down flat and do the

(02:28):
dolly cart race thing was always a go to because
you got to be on a little machine with wheels,
basically not thinking it's gonna run over your hands and
break your fingers. But when you're little, you don't care.
But it's it's not just the game of kickball or
even dodgeball. It's the sound the ball makes when it
makes contact with skin. It's that that kind of tinny,

(02:49):
hollow rubber. It's indescribable. That sound. You just know what
it is. You can't replicate it. But it's the sound
of somebody getting there rocked by a rubber ball somewhere.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Which which which which is fun by the way, when
you are the one throwing that ball. But I think
we've all, brad been on the other side of that
when you get hit, when you have that sound when
you get rocked, and it's yes, I've had a better time.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, it's well, it's embarrassing, right, like it's it's it's
not just that you got hit. It's not that you
got that sound. It's that everybody saw it and heard it. Yes,
and there's no escaping in the fact that you just
got blown up by a rubber ball, a bit brightly
colored one.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And I was telling you when I had that experience,
that great experience at the Boys and Girls Club Sands
Club in Glendale. Highly recommend the staff there, shout out
to Trey and company. I got to see this is
such a third grader thing when you dispute, if you
actually got hit, and then that causes drama, and then
and then it's a time out, and then it's a
whole thing. So I got to see that as well.

(03:54):
As to your point, I think that's when we also
learn some people, you just got to admit your losses,
learn from them, and move on. But I will admit
I was probably that third grader on more than one
occasion to dispute. No, you didn't get me, No, no
that no, that' did not touch my foot, No I
dodged it. That's also a whole other element of then
you have those other shots. To your point, Brad, where

(04:15):
you do get hit. Everybody saw it, and my man,
I'm not hearing any excuses. We saw you get get
hit in the left pectoral. Sit down and wait till
there's a joie break.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's it's also the second second grade thing. So so Frey,
I will do this. Well, we'll play a game and
it's if it's a physical game. You know, I'm not
gonna hold up. I'm just gonna dominate her and she'll
she'll make up rules be like no, no, no, no, only kids
can do this, adults can't.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Yeah, yeah the rules.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to change the rules here. Yeah,
in my favor. Yeah, I'm calling it off this piece
so I can win and go like, no, you cheated,
You're a cheater. Then there's tears, there's anger, but like
you gotta know, you gotta let them.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Know these are life less? Is that from these people?

Speaker 1 (05:01):
We watched you cheat. We watched you cheat, and cheating's
a sin. Tyler, I know you got to go check
out a film I have been wanting to see for
the better part of a year and I haven't been
able to see it yet, and I don't know when
that's gonna happen. I don't know if that's gonna happen
until it's on video. I am stressing because I want
to go, but you got to see Sinners this week,

(05:22):
So cue up the music. It's time for GI at
the movie Sinners edition, and now.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
It's time for GI after a move. I want to
start by saying, I'm sure at some point I will
ask how you're doing and ask for your updates, but
that will have to wait.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Don't need it, that will have to wait.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
I hope you're doing well.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
And how we're doing is we're doing April. That's what
we're doing. That's how we're doing April April.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
I am ending the month on a high because I
finally got to see Sinners. I wanted to catch it
opening weekend. The stars did not align, Brad, but I
did go to my local AMC to check this out.
In fact, I sprung for the Imax theater. The Imax
price tag well worth it. I don't remember the lie.
I don't even think I saw a Fast and Furious
in Imax. So this is a big This is a bit.

(06:14):
I will right into that. This was a big deal
for me, Brad, and I have some takeaways for you.
So as you so eloquently laid it out. Sinners, Yes,
one of the biggest movies of the spring. It's starring
Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, and Delroy Lindo, amongst others
exceptional cast. It's said in the nineteen thirties and revolves

(06:35):
around the story of two twins returning home to the
Mississippi Delta after spending time in Chicago. I won't give
away too many spoilers now. The twins, named Smoke and
Stack are both played by Michael B. Jordan. Hear me out.
They've returned home with loads of money, purchasing property early
on in the film to open a night club or

(06:56):
referred to at that time as a juke joint. This
film basically takes place in the span of For most
of the film, it's just one day focused on this
one evening and then the subsequent morning. Now they recruit
all the new friends to work at the Duke Joint.
They invite the whole town out. There's music. Eventually, when
we get to the evening, the Duke Joint is open
for business. There's music, there's dancing and plenty of livations.

(07:20):
The vibes are immaculate until three vampires crash the party. Brad,
There's a ton of vampire lore, but this film is
so much more than that. It's supernatural, it's horror, It's
a history lesson and easily the best movie I've seen
all year. Heading into this film, I saw many people
say they want to see it again, and I couldn't

(07:43):
agree more. I can't wait to see this movie for
a second and hopefully a third and four time. It's
gross one hundred and twenty three million dollars in North
America one hundred and sixty two million dollars globally. This
is contrasted with a ninety million dollar budget, so by
all intensive purposes, massive success for director Ryan Coogler and company. Brad.

(08:05):
I have three main takeaways here. Number One, this was
an experience, not just a film. An experience. I told you.
I went to my local AMC, Deer Valley. This was
the most black moviegoers I've seen at the Deer Valley
AMC in Glendale in my entire life. And I've grown
up here. Granted I was gone for like ten years

(08:25):
in Tucson, but I've grown up here and to see
how many people showed up. In fact, one of the attendees.
I was wearing my black ashe bucket hat and he said, oh, yeah,
what's up man, you go to see Sinners. I said, yeah, yeah,
I am blah blah blah. And he said, oh, by
the way, you remind me of llll cool Jay with
that hat. I said, you know what, I'll take that, brother,

(08:45):
Thank you greatiate.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Don't call it a comeback.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
I don't call it a comeback. I'm trying to bring
it back. And we were just both It was just immediate,
immediate to me that the vibes are going to be
really high for this film. And as people slowly started
to trickle in of all different shades and ages, granted
the star, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I guess I guess you could get in.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
If you're with an adult. But it's definitely an our
film in terms of content. But I would say the
youngest person who showed up was probably fourteen or fifteen,
and the eldest probably in their in their sixties or
even seventies. Lots of different shades. It was just an
incredible kind of communal experience. There were applause once the
credits went on the screen. It was really it was something.

(09:27):
It was something really really remarkable once to maybe about
seventy people in our theater in total. Once again, Imax Jones,
big Spender here point number two or takeaway number two.
Ryan Coogler has cemented himself as one of the best
and most versatile directors in Hollywood. Once again, phenomenal casting.
Brad would I love here you and are big movie folks.

(09:51):
An original script, right, we can get our remakes and
I've mentioned fact.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
And ips and all those things, so.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Totally always here for that, especially we know heading into
Summer that's kind of a hallmark of summer is going
to get those huge intellectual properties. But I believe there's
something to be said for original scripts, original films, and
Ryan Cougler does it again. It started years ago with
throu Vale Station when him and Michael B. Jordan link
Dune for the first time. We've got in Creed, We've

(10:20):
got in Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, and now here we
are to a completely different films. Ryan Coogler, I think
he's reached that level of stardom where people will come
to the theater because they know if I'm signing up
for Ryan Cougler movie, I know I'm going to get
something great and it's probably going to lead to me
needing to applaud at the end. It doesn't hurt when

(10:41):
he is working with Michael B. Jordan. It seems like
they have a really solid friendship. Two Cali dudes love that.
My third and final takeaway, this is what we call
a transition in the business. Michael Bakari Jordan. I mentioned
to you Michael B. Jordan plays two characters, the Twins,
Smoke stack Rat. His performance in the film not only

(11:04):
will lead to award nominations, I'm certain of it, but
I believe his work in Sinners has put him in
a new stratosphere of acting. He's handsome, he seems like
a solid dude. But this is the film that has
really put him on the map in terms of being
a one of a kind, a plus quality actor. I

(11:26):
can't say enough good things about what he did here,
and I believe he's going to receive his flowers coming
up very soon when eventually we hit award season. So
Michael B. Was incredible. Ryan Coogler did his thing, and
again the whole cast. We could go on and on
about the cast. I mentioned some of them earlier. The
cast was incredible and I can't wait for you to
see this film. Before I pass it back to I

(11:47):
want to give one more shout out to former student
of ours Joey Salvoro. Joey hit us up and he
said his first words about this film were fire. One word,
that was it. And then he expanded and he said
Sinners is one of the most original, ambitious, and well
shot movies in recent years. Not only is Michael bj
charming as the Twins, but Joey also mentioned Ryan Coogler's

(12:10):
inclusion of indigenous and Asian cultures and Sinners is something
that was also refreshing. Very quickly, he goes on to say,
this film focus on free will, and it delves deep
into themes of black identity, artistic legacy, and the exploitation
of black culture, using vampires as a metaphor for cultural appropriation.

(12:30):
So when in doubt, I'm just going to ride Joey's
cotails for his eloquent his eloquent analysis. Joey enjoyed it.
I enjoyed it so much, and Brad, I can't wait
for you to check this out. Please let us know
what you thought. If you've seen Sinners, were at gipod nineteen.
If you're watching on YouTube, let us know in the comments.
If you've not seen it, get your ticket, get your

(12:51):
IMAX experience. You are not going to regret it.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Man, I really want to go. Now I'm realizing, Oh,
I don't know, I don't know. I'm going to do it.
So I wanted to bring this up. I've been trying
to frantic with research this because I didn't even think
about it until just now. I wanted to talk about
Drop for a second, because I said I was worried
about Dropping, swallowed by all these other big releases, and
it'situs coming out. So Drop opening weekend had around seven

(13:17):
and a half million dollars domestically, and in total over
three weeks is fifteen point eight domestically, with about I
believe this is according to MSN twenty two million worldwide.
It's probably right now about breaking even. But it is
still doing really well compared to a bunch of other

(13:38):
movies in the genre. So it sounds like it sounds
like the movie's still doing well. It sounds like it
probably did well enough to feel like it's successful or
at the very least not a failure. But the rating
and all of those things the things that you talked
about the last time you gave us GI at the movies,
all steam seemed to hold true. So you can make

(13:58):
it a weekend, you can go watch a couple of
horror movies. I didn't see it on one of the
charts for like just top ten movies over the weekend.
It wasn't even in the top ten on the list
I looked at. But to know that it's a Bluemhouse
production and that it's like a small studio making this
movie and releasing it within eleven million dollar budget plus
plus marketing and all of those other things to get

(14:20):
it probably around thirty million dollars. It looks like it's
made more than that. So as long as it's it's
making money, I guess that's the goal because that means
more movies can continue to be produced and churned out
and sent to movie theaters for our enjoyment, because that's
the part I always worry about, right.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Like totally. And you and I are big believers, and
certainly life be life in especially now the cost of
living just to exist, Yeah, it's not easy. However, you
and I are big believers. When you can going to
the movie theater to support these films to have that experience.
There's nothing like it. Of course, we have as many

(14:57):
apps as ever. So as long as you watch it
however you do, that's its most important. But I know
you and I are big believers in when you can
carve out that time, when you have the money ready
to go to pay for your ticket, especially in Imax, Brad.
For about the first half of this film, I was like, Oh,
the screen's big. People are really here, they're enjoying it.
And then there's a specific moment I won't reveal that

(15:18):
did the yes, yes, okay, yeah, it did the it
did the thing. It did the thing where it expanded, and.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
It's righteous when that happens.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I don't think I'm ever seeing a non Imax movie
again this voice.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
It's when it's when it's filmed, when it's filmed in Imax. Yes,
when it's filmed in Imax, then it's it's a totally
different experience. I was lucky enough to get to see
The Dark Night in that when it was because it
was filmed in Imax. Going there and watching that expand
out for like the big bike chase scene at the end, like,
oh my god.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
I wanted to get up and leap into the screen
like a hologram. W and just put myself in that.
I mean, granted, I'll just give away this. The moment
that happened was when it was the big vampire vampires
versus the cast we're rooting for, and I just thought,
oh wow, this is again. Sinners was not just a
movie for me this past weekend. It really was an

(16:09):
experience and all the hype that you're hearing well well warranted.
I think you're gonna love this film, Brad, And it's
just it was so well done. It's one of those
where you leave the theater and it's required that you
have follow up conversations, analysis questions is one It's one
of those. Sinners is one of them. Once can't recommend

(16:30):
it enough.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Well, I'm already getting an IMAX experience in my neighborhood
with these last trucks. So we're gonna we're gonna move
in to some talk about wrestling, Tyler. I'm ready for it.
Hit me with your WWE question.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Let's do it. By the way, there are post credit
scenes for Sinners, So if oh do go to see it,
don't be a JABRONI don't leave when you think the
movie is over, there's.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
More setting up the center verse.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
No, no, and that's what Okay, we can have a
whole episode on Centers. That's what was so good is
that the most credit means weren't set up to lead
to a Sinners two.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
It was just for the sake of storytelling for this one.
That's the best man. It doesn't always have to lead
to a sequel, Thank.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
You, Michael, Michael B. Jordan more than a hinsome face.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Okay, Brad.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
WWE loaded episode here on GI today. Always talking the
most in progressing of pop culture. We know this, WWE.
You know how we have to start the two most
important words in gimmick infringement. Step ye, Steph. Watch our

(17:35):
NXT women's champ Stephanie Bauer had another incredible week. When
I think she can't top herself, she does it again.
She had her surprise debut match on the main roster.
I know you saw this, battling Eo Sky on Raw
until Roxanne, Perez and Julia interfered. The following night, Vaquerre
successfully defended her championship against Perez on NXT, which I

(17:58):
hope is Rocky and Perez's swan song. I'm not okay
with her losing all the time. I saw it announced earlier.
She's taken on Rhea Ripley on Raw the evening that
this episode here drops. I kind of don't think Rox
is winning that match, but I like Rox and Perez
to be winning something. Okay, but I'll continue Randy orton
r Ko Johnson at the start of the week, and

(18:21):
at its conclusion, the Street Profits tore it up in
CLC and familiar faces returned. Of course, I'm referring to
russef and Alistair Black. However, Brad, I want to ask
about Zelena Vega.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Do you need to her?

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Oh? Wow, I am predictable of nothing else. Winning her
first singles championship in the company, she dethroned Chelsea Green
on SmackDown to become the new United States Women's Champion. Now,
while everyone loves Zelena and I'd argue this moment is
long overdue, some fans voice their belief that there's still
more to do with Green as champ. What say you?

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Yeah? Sure? I also feel like, I don't know. This
month for Chelsea Green has seemed pretty terrible. You know,
she was left off Mania. You got a champion that
wasn't at WrestleMania, wasn't wrestling at WrestleMania anyway, and we
come back to Raw after Mania SmackDown after Mania to

(19:20):
lose a championship. Am I mad that it's to Zelena? Now?
It's way overdue for her. She should have had Gold
years ago, Like I don't know how to sell it
more after that Puerto Rico show, Like why'd you wait
so long?

Speaker 2 (19:38):
After that? That was the moment. That's exactly what I
was thinking of. That was the moment.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, so I think they waited way too long. I
wonder if it's if it's gonna set up and maybe
we're gonna get something out of this Alista Black return
where he ends up with Gold immediately too, and maybe
they just have them be an on screen thing since
they're married in real life. And now you have these
two people that are working together and they're you know,

(20:04):
both holding gold. That could be interesting and it would
get it would get to lean out of out of
Latina faction hell, because that's just where she keeps getting.
Like we we we have her in the lw O.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
I'm laughing instead of crying. Yea.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
My introduction to her was managing Latino wrestlers in the
performance center because I hadn't watched in years and suddenly
they're in there with Uh that was well, it wasn't well,
yeah it was Andrade. Yeah, you're right, it was Andreate
and was it Angel Garza. Were they tagging or something
at that time?

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, they were.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
They were doing something together where it was like these
two good looking Latin guys that have the same haircut
and same facial hair being managed by the Latin lady.
And I went, oh, everything's still the same. That was
my first thought was nothing's changed in the WWE. And
then I watched Jeff Hardy drink Seamus's piss, so there's
there is that all of it. That's a I can't

(21:00):
believe that's the real thing. And then I didn't make
that up. So it was a strange time to be allowed.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
That was.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
But I just like, I don't know, you take this
character in this this part of her, and then you
just make it all she is. Never give her a
chance to shine on the top of the top of
the stage when everybody wants her there. Ever, I think
I can't say everybody. I think most fans are like, yes,

(21:29):
more please of her is she the best wrestler on
the roster. Who cares. She's awesome, like she's she's charisma,
we care about her story. She's really fun to watch
in the ring. She seems like a really good person, Like,
you have all the elements there, she's beautiful, you have
all the elements there that make like presentable WWE superstar

(21:53):
person that could absolutely carry the banner. And you went,
not now, we'll do We'll do it later. But later
was like that, it's been five years, four years, Zelena
has been wrestling for a minute for a long time,
for a.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Minute now, So it's it's I'm glad it happened. And
then but then there's the other side of that that
Chelsea coins. Right of Chelsea Green, I suspect, rather than
getting in my feelings because like your everything you said
I co signed in terms of Selena being fantastic, I
suspect that Chelsea's going to get that title back at
some point over this summer, because not only is Chelsea
Green Arguaa be the most entertaining wrestler on the roster

(22:31):
and has been doing great things on SmackDown, but there's
also the secret hervis which pops me every time you
have Viper David, you have Kayleie Ray who are linked
up with her. It's it's so fun and granted, you
don't need the title necessarily to continue that act, but
if Chelsea green Is is the face of greatness in

(22:55):
the United States, it certainly helps when you have that
US champion. I just I think you and I are
agreeing with a lot of the fans who believe there's
so much more work for her to be done as champ.
It just seemed a little bit random that Zelena it
was this particular SmackDown. Maybe just wanted something newsworthy on

(23:15):
the first SmackDown after Mania. I'm so happy she had
that moment. I hope she gets a reign that is
worthy of the work that she's put in for years. Again,
I suspect by the time you and I are talking,
say around summer Slam season, I'm thinking that that Chelsea
gets that tidle back one way or another.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
She did the interview with Van Vliet in the middle
of April, and that's the part that I couldn't remember
I was looking it up. She said that she's like
never envisioned herself as a champion and prefers to be
the underestimated wrestler, the person that's like, oh, she's not
a champion. I don't think she should be a champion.
She likes being the underdog so that she can be
the surprise. So I respect that maybe this has something

(23:59):
to do with it. For all we know, this was
her decision, like, hey, I should drop the belt because
it'll be more fun for my character to always be chasing.
And I think that's often the point. How much do
we want to see in WWE? I should be clear
and in AW it's often a little bit different. But
in WWE, I feel like it's all about the chase.

(24:19):
Because the chases, we get that moment. They dragged the
chase out too long for Cody. In my opinion, I
still think it was the wrong decision, but I think
that the chase makes that reward a little sweeter. I
actually was more relieved and thought it was a sweeter
moment to watch the ussos lose the title to Sammy

(24:41):
and Ko than when Cody won. That's my opinion because
that's just felt more important. Where Sammy getting the Montreal Pop,
even though he lost, that was a better moment than
almost most of them. The thing that made me care
about the Cody thing was the way Smith the Irvin
reacted to it more than Cody winning in and of itself.

(25:05):
But it's about that underdog chasing, and I think that
Chelsea Green having to chase makes us care about her more.
And that's like the classic. That's the whole point, right,
Like the dastardly heel always one upping the baby face,
and we want the little guy to punch the big
guy in the face. We want him to punch him
in the mouth because it'll be really satisfying when that happens.

(25:27):
So we always want the underdog chasing. And I think
Chelsea Green is the best person to want to root
for and maybe not the perfect person to have the title.
We could go to aw comparison a good wrestler who
does comedy but isn't necessarily a comedy wrestler like Orange Cassidy.
We've made that comparison before Orange Cassidy. Chasing the titles

(25:48):
was always more fun than Orange Cassidy having the titles
to defend, except it was a little different because his
matches were incredible and he was still the underdog and
all of them. His international reign was awesome, so I
think with Chelsea, if they could have done something more
like that, where she wins by accident or she has

(26:09):
the Sean Michael's victory of the I just passed out
and landed on my back. It just happened to be
on the guy I'm wrestling while they're laying on the mat.
One two, three, they win. I think that could have
been a really fun thing for Chelsea, and I still
think it could be. I think the play at some
point will be Chelsea versus Piper, and that will be
a when Piper turns on Chelsea and she's obviously the

(26:33):
biggest underdog in the world. That will be fun to
fun to watch. So I don't think she was done.
I think there's plenty more to there to do. I
hope this doesn't limit her screen time. I really miss
Samantha Irvin calling these Smitha Irvin calling these things for
Samantha Ricochet excuse me, calling these things makes me happy.

(26:59):
Not that everybody else have been incredible, it's just the
the snarky Chelsea Green call the oh God, it was
just it was pitch perfect for that character because it
made me go like and then maybe love it at
the same time. And I think that's Chelsea Green. It's
like you love to you love to watch her be

(27:19):
ridiculous and annoying, and you can't stand that person. But
because you can't stand that person, you see her and
want to root for it, and you love the person
you can't stand. That is to pull off.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Like no doubt, Yeah I don't.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I don't think you need a title for that.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
And both this is obviously off script, both of their
journeys and their stories. That being Chelsea Green and Selina
Vega just give me hope that certainly in wrestling, And
I would argue, you know, in our chosen professions of
education and and and other areas of life, talent wins

(27:55):
out right, because I'm sure both of these women, Selina
and Chelsea, had moments as people where they thought, man,
should I continue in this wrestling industry. I'm working hard,
opportunities aren't necessarily coming my way as consistently as I
would like. But these are two veterans of the game
who have been doing it and doing it at a

(28:15):
high level for years. And I'm so happy that a
the division exists now. On SmackDown, we have the US
Women's title. On Raw, we have the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
And I'm not saying the rollout or the build for
these two titles has been perfect at all, because I
think you need to have those belts defended at WrestleMania.

(28:35):
If that's your showcase of the year, if you're really
serious about these two divisions, let's got to make the
main show. Take off the Logan Paul match. I know
this is never gonna happen. Take off the Logan Paul match,
and I will go full promo of the week, but
I'm so excited to see them shining because I know
I'm sure it's just documented. Like you said on maybe

(28:58):
a CVV interview or other places, there had to be
moments where they thought, I don't know if this is
going to work out for me, maybe I should do
something else. But they bet on themselves. They grind it,
they doubled down on their craft, and now we're spending
ten minutes of the podcast discussing how brilliant they are
and potential storylines that we could see this summer. And

(29:21):
it's tough, Brad, because the women's division is so loaded,
particularly at that highest tier. E Bianca Ria, now Tiffany,
I would insert Jade at some point, I wonder, and
maybe it doesn't matter to them. Will talents like Zelena
and Chelsea be able to break through and dare I

(29:42):
say maybe challenge for that top title? I'm not as
sure of that. That's why I'm hoping that the company
really invests in these mid car championships, because if you
make the titles important, that's a really good look. I'm
just glad we live in world where finally they're getting
their just do. Selena had a great moment, and like

(30:05):
I said, I predict Chelsea will will hold that championship
once again. As I would say, again, dare I say,
as soon as it's fall.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I feel like in any good hero's journey story, you
got to have that mcguffin, You got to have that
thing that you're they're chasing, right, And that's always the title,
So the story around it's more important. It's it's the
any action movie where they're like, oh no, there's a
bomb or a virus or a threat of some kind,
we have to stop that. We don't actually care about
that thing. We care about the characters and their journey

(30:34):
to get there. That thing is just sort of we're
in on it. We know what's going on, but we're
watching their journey, and I think their journey to those
titles is the most important part. But you still have
to make that title matter. So have you did you
ever see Psycho? For example? Tyler? Do you ever see
that film? The original Psycho?

Speaker 2 (30:54):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Very good moving on, Okay, my question for you, uh, Tyler,
as you as you mentioned, Alistair Black is back, and
not only that, Alistair Black is back with his theme song. Yes,
I was so happy and I'm hoping they put it
back on Apple Music because it was It's such a good,

(31:19):
gorkous song. Oh so good. Uh, Okay, My question for
you is pretty simple. I was thinking about it with Roussev.
You could take Rusev or Alistair Black here. What do
you think the ceiling is for either of these gentlemen.
I'm thinking Alistair Black in particular in WWE. Now that
they're there with Triple H at the Helm.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Wow, you know how much I love both of these guys.
What is their ceiling?

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Oh? Yeah, but it starts with I really love these guys.
I really do. I'm waiting for the butt yeah, because.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
I'm going to try to avoid using the butt word here.
But not Okay, that wasn't a bit. That's just me
fumbling with my words. I what I just said about
the women's division I feel is also applicable to the
men's division Right now. At the top, Cody Who, John Cena,

(32:23):
Randy Ordy, and Cody Rhodes. Roman reigns Seth Rollins, but
I'd even mentioned Seth Rollins is build a good new
faction with Paul Hayman and brom Breaker. That's really cool.
I worry that Russev and Alistair Black are going to
be US and IC contenders and not go beyond that.

(32:48):
What is this My personal ceiling is they should be
up there challenging for the top titles on their respective shows.
Ceiling though, I worry that it's going to be mid
car Maybe you get some tag team action in there somehow,
talent wise, Alistair Black versus Roman, Reigns, Russe versus bron Breaker,

(33:10):
j Uso Who I didn't mention the actual champ forgive
me jay Usso. That would be awesome. But will Russev
actually be the one to defeat jay Usso and become
that champ? I sure hope so. The Redeemer when he
was the redeemer in aw Bright. That was my favorite
character in all the wrestling. We know how great Alistair
Black is. It starts with the music that it translates

(33:32):
into the ring. I just do I see them going
to the top of the division and holding gold. I wouldn't.
I wouldn't bet on it. But again, that could just
meet That could be me just guarding my emotions and
not wanting to get my expectations, you know down, I

(33:55):
think that's what I gotta go with. Man. I for
sure think both guys will hold gold. I just don't
know if it will be at the top of the card.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
You don't think you don't think that Alistair Black will
be like Great Uncle Howdie or the Judgment Night or
we see that. Yes, yeah, there's a lot of there's
a lot of that presentation that's already kind of adjacent.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
And and Alistair black first feud potentially with the Mizz
Russe first feud, otis.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Maybe he already he already kind of redeemed him.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
So it would be a good match.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
The latter, oh yeah, would be like the eventual russev.
Bronson Reid match.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yeah, like that's gonna be awesome. It won't be for men,
the World Heavyweight Championship.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Heavy Yeah, yeah, it'll just be heavyweight hitting each other, and.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Both of these could carry the top rid.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
It'll be an Omaha Steaks meat title. Probably sponsored.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Listen, we don't have many sponsors they have.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Could you a slim gym sponsored segment easily? Maybe it's
a Mountain Dew's Black that would be.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
That would be a very fun.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Prel to fall into some pads or Uncle Howdie to
jump into some phone.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
These would be great matches on the next pl e.
Whether it's backlash or if it's sponson read you know,
this would be much much later. I just I see
that potential in that, But I also felt that way
in AW I fully believe. Listen, you can insert Miro,
not just in the not just in the TNT picture
by the way, my favorite TNT champ ever, you can
insert him for that top prize against the Kenny Omegas

(35:33):
of the world. You can insert then Malachi Black into
that top picture against Hangman and Cody or whomever. I
hope they get those opportunities. I just I'm not as
sure as I want to be on that one.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah, I'm with you. I I don't know where you
put him. I want to see Alistair black against uh.
I think did Alistair do Malachi wrestle cm Punk? I
can't remember if he did or not.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
But the eventual face off of Alistair blow and the
Roads again, Oh yes, yes, that's going to be incredible.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
And maybe and maybe that's a good sub Maybe that's
a good substitute. Maybe you aren't exactly Yeah, if they
have the best feud on their show, maybe I put
as a fan, I put too much stock and people
in need a whole gold. If he's getting time, if
he's getting an amazing storyline and that makes him happy,
who's to say you need to be. There's only one

(36:30):
person can be champ at a time, and right now
that top of the card just has some really heavy
hitternet type. I for sure think Sam Punk is going
to be champed at some point this year. Seth Rollins,
I would assume is going to hold that gold as
this new version of him at some point. There's just
only so much time and only so many, so many
opportunities to hold that top prize. And both of those

(36:52):
guys are also veterans in the industry. Brat they battled.
They bat, well, it's disputed, but they battled injuries and
other you know situations. I think I saw Malachi. It
was quoted that Alistair Black, excuse me, wants to wrestle
ideally for about five to seven more years scenario. He's
I think he's approaching forty, if not already. Russev is

(37:13):
up there as well. I just want to see these
guys get their flowers, if this is in fact, you know,
the last five years or so of each of their careers.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Yeah, I'm more interested to see what happens with what
they do with Russev than Alistair Black. Alistair Black, I
think there's some clear paths that they take, where Rusev
is a little bit murkier because I don't really know
what his character is yet. Is he Rusev? Is he Miro,
which which one of these people? Because he was doing
Miro stuff with Russev's entrance, right, It's not like he's

(37:41):
coming out with the long hair, so right, I'm not
really sure.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
I want them to bring over the Redeemer, just like
they did for Cody, just like they did for Jade,
the exact same presentation. I need more of a redeemer
that story's not done.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
I imagine they will. Alistair Black has he did it
with Malachi. He still has the content packed that character
arc has carried over for years since he got his
eyeball removed by Buddy, Right, correct me if I'm wrong.
At the behest of seth Rawlins, So, I think there's

(38:14):
gonna be an Alistair Black seth Rawlins feud at some point,
and then if he brings somebody along to help fight
bron Breaker, all of that could be super interesting. I'm
here for that baby face Alistair Black. I don't even
know what that looks like right now, because the last
time we saw him, he was the father character and
then he got kicked out. They did all that promo

(38:35):
package work for weeks, had him show up on a
video twice, gone craziness. So I'm excited to see what happens.
I'm more curious to see what happens with Rusev, but
really excited to see what happens both. To your point,
I just want to see him get their flowers, and
I don't want them to get thrown in there as
an afterthought, but I hope they're happy and healthy and

(38:58):
all of those things that are more important than anything else. Now, Tyler,
this is another big week. We were talking about how
we were mystified about how people tune in or show
up to a draft picking of people to go onto
a team, not the sport itself, but the draft for
the sport. And it happened to be in the town

(39:20):
where my parents live, my brother lives, his family lives,
and it's got the team that I love in there
at the Green Bay Packers. So we're gonna play the music.
It's time for what happened here? What happened here? So

(39:49):
I texted you earlier this week, yesterday, two days ago,
eight days ago. I don't know what day it was.
It could have been last year for online know saying
you know a lot of wrestlers were reacting to the draft.
We were directly involved in the draft. That got to
start with Rich Eisen having seth rawlins on his show
reacting to a reaction, and Tyler was the Miz. The

(40:13):
Miz was on an airplane flying to wherever, and apparently
the story is that he was he was bragging about
the Browns getting the best quarterback in the draft because
they have the number one pick, and they have all
these things and We're gonna get the best quarterback. We're
gonna get the best guy. Nobody's gonna have a better
year than us. And then they traded the pick, and

(40:35):
there's just a picture of the miz Mike mizzen and
sitting on a plane like like just dumbfounded, this look
of disappointment on his face, knowing that he just said
all of those things and got loud wrong in public.
And on the flip side of that, you got Seth
freaking Rowlins going to the draft to announce the Bear's pick,

(40:56):
to announce I believe he said the best quarterback in
the division, Caleb Williams, who's undefeated at lambeau Field, which
is a funny sentence, but he is. And then he
did the classic Seth laugh and then announced the pick.
And Seth has been invited to host The Rich Eisen Show,

(41:17):
I believe more than once now and at some point
I can't wait for that to happen. That's gonna be awesome.
I didn't get to see it without looking. I'm positive
Angelo Dawkins had something to say about this draft, almost
positive it. I believe he's a Bengals fan. I'm sure
there are a lot of people that reacted. Now, Tyler,
we know that AW has a vested interest in the

(41:40):
Jacksonville Jaguars, considering the Khan family owns the Jags. Tony
Khn's dad owns the Jags. Tony Khan is the club president.
How do you feel, Tyler, about wrestlers, in particular WWE
wrestlers in this case, being involved in the draft. I
know last year we saw Tony Kahan in a neck

(42:00):
brace for the draft because he uh, that's when the
Bucks turned on him, right, give him the pile driver.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
I can't believe that was a year ago.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
That was a year ago. Already, crazy, How time flys. So,
how do you feel about ww wrestlers being involved in
the draft and which wrestlers any promotion would you like
to see announcing picks?

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (42:22):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
And think about how many belts w w WE has
sold for those NFL teams. I've never seen them actually
in the streets like in real life, and I would
never buy one.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
But yeah, yeah, I would definitely take again, I know
that a.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Listen, listen, Yes, clearly they're being sold and there's just
WWE with the sponsorships and the partnerships and the integration
of the product. It's as hot as it's ever been,
and they're just their tentacles are everywhere. So what do
I make of just a partnership. I think it's fantastic.
I think there's a lot of crossover between football fans

(43:01):
and wrestling fans. And to your point, Brad, the wrestlers
who we've seen, it's not just a bit or for
the character, they just love themselves some football. I knowing
you and our relationship growing over the years, it's my understanding,
particularly in the Midwest, football is huge. It's a really
big deal. So you laid it out seth Rollins, the

(43:22):
mizz Angelo Dawkins and now a w with with the
con family owning the Jags, and then by the way,
trading up to pick Travis Hunter. Yes, Travis Hunter appearance
on Dynamite.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
At some points for sure.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yeah, he would just have to be careful because he's
so athletically gifted. You just I would love to see
him at a Swanton. But also I feel like there's
language in his contract.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Oh, he'll be in the crowd, he'll give to my
belt and he'll hit MGF in the face.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
That's usually the move. The next dailies play show. Yeah,
so which rest the second part of your question? Which
wrestlers would I like to see pop up.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
At some point?

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I would love to see Britt Baker, who had a
birthday this past week. We have not seen Britt Baker
in so long on AMUTV you were speaking earlier. Actually,
this has been a through line of this episode about
you know, these performers who we watch every week and
we invest so much time in. We just want them
to be healthy, to be happy, and a period, there's

(44:20):
nothing else after that. Britt Baker very fascinating time in
her career right now. She shouldn't have a nice birthday.
I love that for I think she turned thirty four,
so big shout out to her. She's the first person
who came to mind because I know how hard she
rides for her Pittsburgh Steelers, So I would I would
love to see her pop up at some point. We
got to see Roman reigns as well, right Bailey? Of course,

(44:45):
Big forty nine Ers fans. I want to say, was
it Jimmy Usso who popped up and read a draft pick?

Speaker 1 (44:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Last week? So Roman, I would love to see Roma
pop up. Definitely, Bailey she goes hard for the Niners. Right.
Other than that, I'm thinking, any is there anyone talk? Yeah,
of course, of course, I'm thinking if there's I don't
know any famous wrestlers who are for the Arizona Cardinals.
It's probably a wise decision. But no New York. Are

(45:13):
there any big Giants or Jets fans. Mike Staff big
Jets fan, But any wrestlers who are Avid, Well.

Speaker 1 (45:19):
I don't know if they're allowed to be fans of
New York. You know, tribalism, somadic.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Those are my pigs. I'm going to go if I
have to answer, brit Baker and Bailey are at the top.
Roman reign seems like a layup because you know, I
have people who don't even watch wrestling in my life
and they want to know what Roman Reigns is up to.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Yeah, I could see, I could see. I actually have
no idea if he's a fan and the ufl stuff,
but the Rock makes sense for like a Miami pick
given a size to the U or if he's if
he's calling the draft pick for a you guy, that
would make sense. Yeah, all all the picks that you said,
I have no issues with any of them, I think

(45:57):
they're all right. I wonder if you are, if you
were a franchise, do you get superstars that played for
your franchise that didn't work out? Do you like, obviously
this isn't gonna happen because you know reasons. But like
if if brock Lesner was invited by the Vikings because
he played for the Vikings for a for a second,

(46:19):
was it the breaker play for the Raiders. I can't
remember he played for somebody for uh he was on
the practice squad or or or something. He was there, Yeah,
I just don't remember what team.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
I'll look it up. Continue.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
So, so players like that because there's a lot of uh,
you know, crossover, even mad Cap Moss I believe what
played football. I don't remember if it was D one,
but there's a lot of D one college players out there,
you know, the Bigie and again mad Cap bron Breaker
brock Lesner.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
You're right about mad Cap, he definitely did. Uh, okay,
bron Breaker Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Ravens Ravens, Okay, yes, makes sense. I'm alloted concerned by
the loud bang sound I just heard outside of my window.
Hopefully it was just you know, the just the pavement
exploding in the heat. Yeah, there's a there's a whole
bunch of people. But like Britt, no brainer for the Steelers, Bailey,
no brainer for the Niners. And then it's yeah, what

(47:13):
do you get for green Bay? There's not a lot
of green Bay bread uh w w E talent. But
I could see somebody like again with with caveats, Rick
Flair going to do the Vikings or because he's from Minnesota,
but do you have him do the Panthers instead? Because

(47:34):
because I don't really associate him with Minnesota? Who who
does l A? Do you have l A Night go
do the one of the several current former l A.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
That's hard, that's my favor that's my favorite pick you've
had so far that it.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
Has to be right. But who's l A. Night a
fan of? Because if he's which which LA team? And
are the l A teams l A teams anymore? Do
you get the Chargers? If you're a San Diego person,
I I don't I don't know. Is L. A. Knight
a fan of the Raiders? Is l A. Knight a
fan of the Chargers?

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Is l A.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Knight a fan? Who is he a fan of? Because
is he a Rams fan. There's I don't know where
any of these man La is a mess. California got
messy with the football franchises, real messy and then they
lost the A's like they're real, real messy over there,
and it's it's who are you a fan of if
you're from that area? And is it an area team.

(48:33):
I feel like there's somebody that I'm forgetting that's a
big Seahawks fan and I can't remember who it is
because right now all comes to mind is Mina Chimes
and I haven't seen her in the ring lately. So
I think the crossover is amazing. It's amazing promotional, you know,
content for the franchises. I wonder what the partnership with
the with the WWE and doing the belts if that

(48:56):
includes appearances like when, oh god, I can't, I'm drawing
a blank here. Backstage at dailies for a pay per view,
we had uh, what's his got? Fired? Urban Meyer? There
we go. I was like, I can't think of his name.
It's like I was, I was thinking city something, and
then I realized Urban got it. Uh yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
Charlie Strong popped up as well.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
Yes, Oh my gosh, yeah yeah, yea, well no, it
did not spot.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
The spot was super fun, but the huge.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
Pop for him totally bleeping in the back to somebody
getting hit with the TV like I think Christ Jericho
was Chris Jericho was involved, and I want to say
he was still heal Jericho might have been Babyface Jericho.
Wasn't he fighting MJF. I'm pretty sure that was like
the the labors of of Jericho or whatever.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
It was probably around pod.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
It was just feels like an ago. I wonder if
there's overlap there, But the more the better because, let's
face it, press conferences and the way they interact and
the celebrations in the end zone is all so very
pro wrestling. Anyway, great reminder that everything is pro wrestling. Tyler.
We got to go into the other side of pro wrestling.
It's time to talk aws to hit me with your question.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
Yeah, okay, So ae W master P made John Moxley
say yeah, steeds were planned for a Kevin Knight Ricochet feud, and.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
I have two Riscott Wiels. Yeah you ran you Rana wife.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Quick, you sure did. And I have two new nominations
to add to my favorite wrestlers in the industry. List.
On a recent episode of Gimmick Infringement, I reminded you
and every one of my love for Stephanie Bucker and
Opa Femi of NXT fame my two new nominations to
add Hologram and Queen Ami Nada.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
I knew you were gonna go Queen.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
I love those two yeah so much. I'm glad they
got time. On Collision. Hologram defeated Platinum max Caster Queen
amiad It looks great, but lost to timeless Tony Storm.
Can we get both entitled programs this year? Lease? That's
just a request. That's not my question for you. Yeah,
here is my question. Jamie Hayter defeated Chris Statlander in

(51:08):
the main event of Dynamite, advancing to the finals of
the Owen Cup. She'll face the undefeated Mercedes Manet at
Double or Nothing in the most Magical place on Earth, Glendale, Arizona,
on May fifth this summer. The winner faces Tony's Storm
for the aw Women's World Championship at All in Texas, Brad.

(51:31):
My question is very straightforward. Who's winning that match?

Speaker 1 (51:35):
Jamie Hayter? Wow, I got that.

Speaker 2 (51:39):
Mercedes is her first match?

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Yeah, because she doesn't lose her titles. She just loses
the o N There's no reason now if you're gonna
go full belt collector. Here has Mercedes. She has won
a few clean. Do you think she beats Jamie Hayter clean?
The way that Jamie Hater is presented, I just don't
see that happening. Even though Mercedes, we know what she brings, heal,

(52:06):
Mercedes always has something happen. There's always some kind of interference,
there's always some kind of tomfoolery, not always always, but
more often than not. Or she gets to win and
looks surprised. Jamie Hater's been mowing people down and hitting
people with Hater aids, and I think if Hater beat
stat those were the two biggest competition competitors left for Mercedes.

(52:31):
No disrespect to anybody else, but that was it. And
now we're getting Hater versus money in person. Tyler. I'm
so excited about this, just because how long have we
been waiting to see these people live. I'm so pumped
for this. Cannot wait. Don't care who wins, we get

(52:53):
to see them live, doesn't matter to me at all.
Just can't wait to see them live. I'm gonna say
I think it's gonna be Jamie because she has more
to gain, but because mostly because of this, what's Jamie
Hayter's next thing if she loses, because she she just
this is like an opportunity killer. If she loses, we

(53:14):
don't get Jamie Hayter versus Tony Storm. Tony Storm who
beat her for the title. Oh wait no, Soraya beat
her for the title at at Wembley before she got hurt.
We don't get to see Tony Storm versus Jamie Hayter.
That's the match I want to see as much or

(53:35):
more than Mercedes and Tony. I think both those would
be great. But if Jamie Hayter loses, not only does
she lose the owen she lost to the the other
title champions or champion other titles champion, she doesn't get
a world title shot. But so what does Jamie Hayter
do then next? That isn't what she's done all year,

(53:57):
which is just sort of wrestle in the back. She's
not chasing anything anymore. So I want her to always
either have a belt or chase the belt. And they
haven't really talked about wins and losses consistently on this show.
They project them, but nobody seems to care. Otherwise Hologram
would be wrestling John Moxley this week for the title.
It's like twenty six and oh or something.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Now ye.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
Now as of yeah, so he's he's undefeated in aw
and he's not. He's not wrestling for TNT, he's not
wrestling for the Big Belt. He's just there winning constantly,
not being rewarded for it. It's confusing. So I think
I think it's gonna be hater because she has the
most to gain. I can see it going either way.

(54:43):
What's the youth?

Speaker 2 (54:44):
I completely agree with you number one. We are the
winners first and foremost.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
You see my fans gift, I did? I love that? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:51):
I love that once again follow us at GPoT nineteen
firstclusive show updates and fan gifts and much more. I
agree with you completely everything you said right. I wish
I had a spicy of your take as it were.
Mercedes has been super protected from day one a year ago,
and changed since when she debuted. I suspect that this

(55:13):
could be a case where not only are we seeing
these two magnificent wrestlers in person and Glendale, I have
a feeling Athena might pop back up, costs Mercedes the
match and then at all in not only do we
have Jamie Hayter versus Tony Storm rekindling that feud as
you highlighted, but we also get Mercedes versus Athena Part

(55:35):
two for the TBS Championship, and Athena dethrones Mercedes in
her home state of Texas, Athena's home state. That is
so yeah, I completely agree with you. Who needs to
win more? It's by far Jamie Hayter, and I actually
believe she's gonna pull it off. I think it's imperative
that she leaves Glendale with the Owen Cup.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Yeah. I can't wait to see it. So I have
a lot of background without a huge question. You've already
alluded to this question. So we saw a bunch of
incredible wrestling from AW. I feel like they've been on
a hot streak lately putting out consistently good TV shows
or all the feuds perfect no, but the show has
been really entertaining. We also saw Ricky Morton get stuck

(56:19):
with the Bile Driver, which is crazy. In twenty twenty five,
apparently the Undisputed Undisputed era undisputed Kingdom is not called
the Paragon. The Bucks are aligned with the Death Riders,
and still nobody has any idea what the death Riders
are up to. But the EVPs versus Speedball and the
Jet was incredible. One thing. I was happy to see

(56:42):
Roosh back in action. However, ar Fox once again wrestled
and once again lost a wrestling match. So Tyler, when
it comes to top level in ring performers like Arbox,
is TV time more or less important than losses in

(57:04):
ae W? Specifically it has to be aw right.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
I think it is, and unfortunately ar Fox is an
example of this. To your point, can go toe to
toe with with anybody. He's he's stellar, but he doesn't win.
I was gonna say very often, if at all. I
don't know his record off the top of my head,
but yeah, I think TV time is important. And also
I would put that this is a different case scenario,

(57:29):
but similar similar situation the Vanilla Baby Blake Christian. That
dude's been all over our TV screens over the last
month and change and he never wins. He lost the
Swerve on Collision, He's lost to Kenny Omega. He's been
in these showcase matches and is incredible. Is Chris does

(57:49):
that flip through the ropes, that's that dive, But I
should say through the rolls set kind of like bends
time and space and motion and laws. So he's he's awesome,
but similar to ar Fox, he does these cool moves
we applaud. But then that said, there's no sort of
greater story. So I do think TV time is important.
I think there's something to be said for that, based

(58:10):
on interviews and what we hear from lots of talent.
You know, that's often what they ask for is give
me that opportunity, give me that platform on television, and
I will show out and I will become undeniable to
the point where you have to find something for me. Now,
is your said than done? We talked about the issue
in WWE where the roster's just loaded right now and

(58:31):
everybody needs to eat Blake Christian, particularly ar Fox. We
can even add Queen Ami Nada. She's picked up more
wins probably than both of these guys combined on AWTV,
but she hasn't necessarily had a signature's story or a
moment yet. She has that on again, off again potential
mentorship with Serena deeb. But what is that led to, right?

(58:51):
Can you name a memorable Queen Ami Nada moment, no rivalry. Now,
we just love her every time we see it because.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
Naturally sure everything she's done.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
Yeah, so TV time definitely important, definitely keeps them at
the forefront of our mind, so much so that we're
talking about them on our sixty to seventy five minute
podcast every week. But at a certain point, particularly with
Queen a Minada, it's just clearly there has to be
something more in the works. If not, you're really missing

(59:22):
out an opportunity to build a new star who can
do amazing things for your company. TV time very important,
but it's just hard when we find our favorites in
wrestling and then we want more than just TV time
and perpetual losses.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
Yeah, and to your point, I think it's it's you know,
Queen got to fight the champion, so big deal, and
it has been put in really good spots. Loses most
of them, but has been put in good spots. Always
has really I guess snug matches that are incredibly entertaining
to watch. I love how hard she hits. It's so
fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
He's got everything.

Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Oh she's incredible, so yeah, more more of her, please
on my screen all the time. Ar Fox, I seem
to remember him. It's hard to know if he wrestled
and lost to John Moxley. At some point. I think
he did, because all the John Moxley matches kind of
feel exactly the same to me. It's they start, Babyface

(01:00:21):
gets the one up, Moxley rolls outside, does this thing,
shakes his head, goes back inside, does something nefarious, bites
his head, gets a weapon involved death writer whatever it's called, pin,
beats him up, maybe does the elbows to the next.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
Ridiculous by I was gonna see it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
And then says something really vague and a promo for
the formula. Yeah. Ar Fox's record in ae W is
eight and thirty two. His his twenty twenty five singles
record is oh and five. With the oh and two
Trios record twenty twenty four, it was oh to five
and singles twenty twenty three, three and seven in singles,

(01:01:00):
one and one in tag, one in five in trios,
one and oh in multi In twenty two it was
two and four, oh and one, oh and two so
uh again overall singles five twenty one and oh, I
think everybody reacts to r Fox going in there going like, Wow,
he looks really good, this is incredible, and we know

(01:01:21):
he's he's unbelievable as a talent. I just I wonder
if it's when it becomes a foregone conclusion when they
walk into the ring. I don't know if people are
going to be invested when it's like, oh, this is
the guy that loses all the time. He's oh to
ten in two years in singles matches in aw his

(01:01:43):
his ROA record is thirteen and fourteen. How many people
are actually watching ROH that are watching I'm not paying
for it, right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
It's the issue with the Deanna Pirazzo. I understand she's
tearing it up in r WH she's a part of
the tournament there, but she's the doesn't win very often,
hasn't recently on aw TV.

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Leis La Gray you kind of stopp doing the crossover stuff,
like they have to stop because there's no reason to
care about ROH at all.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
Yeah, you're absolutely right, And that's actually why I think
they were wise to have Mark Brisco defeat Ricochet on Dynamite,
because I thought it was a foegone conclusion. Oh, Mark
Brisco's fun to watch once again. We enjoy seeing him,
but he hardly ever wins, especially the big matches these days.
We know he's not winning that. When he pinned Ricochet,
I was shocked. I was like, yeah, we need more

(01:02:34):
of those surprises so that we know record be damned
if I see Mark Brisco or Airfox Queen a Mi Nada.
I don't know. This could be the one that they win,
and maybe that starts something. I thought that was really
good because I just assume Ricochet was going to take
care of it, and when he didn't, I said, you
know what, that's a really smart move. I think that's
going to set up whatever Mark Brisco's next matches. Maybe

(01:02:55):
it's not completely a foregone conclusion that he's eating the
pin me keep me on my toes that I don't.
I don't know for sure with one hundred percent certain
into what's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
I love that. Yeah, I think I go back to
the Cody Rhodes interview. Gosh, when it was it, I
can't remember when it was or where it was, or
when it was about having if we're going to do
picture in picture matches in aw having having the title
change like the pinfall happened during a picture in picture
to make people want to tune into the picture and

(01:03:27):
picture moments and not go to the bathroom to come
back and go, oh, do we miss cause I think
it was Wwe did that recently and it was here's
what you missed during the commercial break, and it was
this absurd move that nobody saw outside of the arena,
or hey, this just happened. They did that last year
with something and I remember it was like, hey, this
just happened. The match was over and it was like

(01:03:49):
a title match. Do you remember this? I can't remember
what match it was, but it was like the match ended.
Maybe it was NXT. It was NXT when they first
did it in Chicago or when they were first on
the road when they went to the CW. They did
like a commercial came back and they cut off the
women's match. Didn't even get to see it was the

(01:04:11):
Julia match ended with a pin did not broadcast. It
did not broadcast or win. I was pissed. Yes, I'm
sure you were.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
You're the biggest Julia fan.

Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
And then I stopped watching NXT. I haven't watched it
since I have not turned it on once. I was incredible,
but I was just like that, I can't. Well now
I can't watch it. It's not even a choice anymore. Now
just now, I just now, I just don't have the
ability to watch it. But I was just like, at
that point, I made a choice. I'm not turning this
on if they're going to cut it off anyway. I
was so angry, Tyler, what do we miss?

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
I have three notes? What did we miss?

Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Number one YouTube YouTube is officially twenty years old, Brad.
I learned that earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Wow, it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
That is remarkable and crazy and I'm still processing that.
How was it only twenty years old? Okay? Secondly, Paige
Beckers is officially a Dallas Winging. I'm really optimistic on
the squad that Dallas is building, page Beckers being a
centerpiece the WNBA, adding another superstar to their roster. I'm

(01:05:14):
really excited for the w It's gonna kick off here
next month in May, and I'm sure we'll be discussing
it on GI and then finally Destin Conrad. The twenty
four year old Kailani Mente from Florida released his debut
studio album to read my thoughts, visit Gimmick Infringement pod
dot com and visit the writing section. Brad, what do

(01:05:36):
we miss?

Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
I have a bunch of notes and most of them
we already hit. Zeena Vega, wins, Alister Black Returns, Who's
have Returns? Queen? I'm an out of versus Tony Storm.
Just that's all I had on there was just that
In general, top Flight and crew are still beefing really
fun matches every time they get in the ring together.
But I just feel like this feud has been eternal
in some way, shape or form. They're either friends or

(01:05:59):
not friends, and it's just them doing like this Cruiserweight
tag team division thing, and I'm kind of tired of it,
Like make the tag division matter again instead of just
having the same groups beeping all the time and it's
never for the title. What's it? And more?

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Leila Gray please?

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Much like okay that part, I'm okay, But Leila Gray
all the time?

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
Yeh, Laila Gray all the time? Please? And again I
know if she's killing geting rwah. So maybe the answer
is bro just get an ROA subscription. But again, money,
money's tight. But similar to what we said about Selenavig
and WWE with Leila Gray. I want to see her
eventually branch off on her own. It'd be given time
to to do some cool things in the rain.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Tyler, when you said when you said YouTube was twenty
years old, I had to look it up because I
remember one of the original videos I watched on YouTube
when I discovered YouTube was the Leroy Jenkins video. If
you know you know, that was two thousand and five.
I want to say Boom Goes the Dynamite and the
Jedi Kid was also around that time. Mind blowing that

(01:07:00):
that was twenty plus years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
