Speaker 1 (00:40):
Hi everyone, It is Jazz and this is giving up
the Ghost Podcast. Thank you for coming back. It is
spooky season, ooh spooky, and Halloween is always crazy for
us and a lot of people out there. And yeah,
so sorry about last week. It was short weekedn't get
an episode out, But if things do work out, I'm
going to give you guys a little taster of what
(01:01):
we've been doing for the almost last seven years, and
every day I am going to try and get a
little rewind, if you will, on some spooky stories that
we've collected, just snippet episodes for the next two weeks
leading up to Halloween. Ooh spooky. Thank you for everybody
(01:22):
that's come out and talked to us. We were at
the Fantastical Emporio Market last Sunday. It was great to
meet some of the listeners out there. I'm sorry about
the sound quality. As I explained, I'm a one hand
band and when it comes to editing and stuff, sometimes
the mics don't always agree with audacity. But we are
trying and trying and trying. We make no money at
this so it's just for our amusement as well as
(01:44):
yours hopefully. So yeah, so we did the market, We
did Spirits with Spirit. So today's episode is really really
near and dear to our hearts, lucky enough to have
James and Judy from Haunted six Pints Tractions come out
and share some stories with us. We featured them quite
(02:05):
a bit on the podcast, not that we're favoring one
attraction over another, but their stuff is like good, and
not only is it good, their property is actually haunted.
So they walk the walk and they talk the talk,
if you know what I'm saying. But that shouldn't deter
anybody from not going to their fabulous, amazing attraction because
(02:26):
they work so hard to put these barns together, these
displays together, and they always have like themes and every
year not one, not two, but three themes. So this
year they have Pinky's Bloodbath, they have nevermore, and they
also have oh shit, yeah, brain fart, but they have
three displays on their property. It is such a nice
(02:50):
experience because you know what, like everything's indoors, so, I mean,
the weather's been so crappy lately, trust me, I know
we were at Saint Norbert last night and rain, rain, rain,
So I mean you appreciate being able to enjoy yourself
and get the shit scared out of you and you're dry.
So I mean, definitely, we highly suggest going out to
(03:13):
Six Pines Haunted Attractions from now on till Halloween Night.
So again James and Judy came out, thank you so much.
We truly appreciate it from the bottom of our black
and dead hearts. So that's tonight's interview or today's interview,
and then following up to that we have the ghost stories,
the open mic portion of Spirits with Spirits, so it's
(03:33):
always a good time. And next month, my god, I'm
not a hype person, but truly like we are a
blessed man because Chris Rotowski is coming out on October
twenty ninth to the King's Head Pub Spirits with Spirits
with ourselves giving up the Ghost podcast and our lovely
co hosts, the Winnipeg Paranormal Group. Can't have one without
(03:53):
the other. We were able to go out with the
Winnipeg Paranormal Group last night and we were at the
same No Rbert Education Center also known as the Monastery
and the Ruins, so we were able to do a
little ghost public ghost investigation there with them. That was
pretty cool. I mean I've never been there before. It
(04:14):
gives a vibe, it has a vibe. A lot of
consistent stuff that came out of that. So the nice
thing about their tours is that when they break everybody
into different groups and at the end of the night,
everybody comes together and shares what they've heard, what they experienced,
what they saw, and guess what, everybody always comes back
with the same either name or sounds or yeah, like
(04:35):
it just you know, if you're not a believer, you
got to go on these ghost tours, and you know what,
it would led you closer to that line of bleeding
that is one hundred percent factual. So yeah, so it
was Saint Norbert Monastery. That episode will hopefully come out
by the end of October. I have so much to edit.
It's it's ridiculous, ridiculous. But tonight or today, we are
(04:58):
going to go all all the way to Brandon, Manitoba,
and we are going to be checking out the Daily House,
which is I think comparably to the Dolnovert Museum here
the HUGHA or Hugh John McDonald House in Winnipeg. Brandon
has their Daily House, which is like a museum basically,
it's going to we're going to explore it, We're going
(05:20):
to do the ghost investigation and yeah, so here we
come Brandon, Manitoba.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Ready or not.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
That stuff that we've done, stuff that we're going to
be doing again. October twenty ninth, we have Chris Ertowski
for our Spirits with Spirits, and he's not just all
about the aliens. He also does a lot of stuff
on paranormal as well. So he was originally one of
the founding members of the Winnipeg paranormal groups. So really
really little interesting factoid there. Yeah, so hopefully if things
(05:50):
go well, we'll have a little snippet episodes from now
till Halloween. Might take a little hiatus after that. We'll
see what happens. Because I get kind of burnt out,
but you know, it is what it is. Thank you
so much for all the wonderful feedback. Thank you so
much for coming and seeing us and sharing your stories
when we're at the markets. You know, it means a
lot to us or to me. Hopefully we'll get a
(06:11):
share back on soon. We just want stories like you're
just sharing the ghost love here. Remember we know everything
about nothing and nothing about everything, so can hold that
against us. But love the support, love the ghost stories.
It is spooky season, and come on down again. King's
Head Pub October twenty ninth. Anyway, so that is my
ramble for now. Remember also to email us at giving
(06:35):
Up the Ghost Podcast at gmail dot com. I'm trying
to do a little bit more with the YouTube and
the video so and saying that tonight and Brandon, we're
hopefully going to catch some good footage for you and
have that posted and is always remember to live every
day like it is your last, but never give up
the ghost chaut for now, I want.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Sure you want me to start today.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Hello everybody, how's everyone doing tonight? Awesome? Are you ready
to hear some spooky stories? Yeah? You want to get
some stories about six Pines haunted attractions. Of course, who
(07:27):
here has ever been to six pints? A couple of
hands out there, that's awesome, that's right, all right? Well,
I really hope that everybody will go in a ten
six pints after tonight because they're an amazing, amazing family
who runs it and we actually have James and Judy
for tonight.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Hello, Hi, thank you. I'm Jazz with giving Up the
Ghost Podcast, And this is Ashley from the Winnipeg Parinormal Group.
So tonight we have amazing guests for you. We have
James and Judy from six Content Attractions, voted number one
of the haunted attractions in Winnipeg. Correct. Correct, So come
(08:08):
on down, guys, we'll get you seated here and we'll
start getting you telling us some stories of shadow Man
because six.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Pins Haunted Attractions is actually haunted.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
So that's the cool part, right, So you're getting extra
bang for your bucks, I'll say the same time. Sure,
and then you guys got a mic there.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Sure, welcome James and Judy. We love James and Judy.
Can get Can they get around them?
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Applause for James and Judy, everybody, thank you.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Perfect.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
So James and Judy we met about four years ago,
me and my partner's share. We went out, we spent
the evening, we reported stories in their gift shop, and
then we talked to their October children.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
Their October children is who they.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Affectionately call their employees for the month of October, and
they're such great people to work for their October Our children.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Always come back year after year. And I'm talking living,
not dead. So let's clarify that right there.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
So just to give you some background, when we went
to record, everybody.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
That worked there had a story.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
So that was pretty cool of the shadow Man, so
maybe you know with his with hauntings.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
There's history.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
So I'll get the Florida James and Judy and we'll
ask some questions and then we'll have a Q and
a Yeah. So if you want to just start and
just tell us how how you started your theme park,
you're introduced ourselves.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah, okay, we started.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
It's now been twenty seven years and we started off
as a petting zoo. We were the biggest petting zoo
in Manitoba at at a time, and I said to Judy,
let's do something in the fall time. And we actually
thought we were the only people in the world that
we're doing the sort of thing that we worked we
(09:56):
would behold.
Speaker 7 (09:57):
We went to some conventions in.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
The States and it's very big in the States, and
you were actually the one that brought most of the
haunting stuff to Winnipeg.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
You know, there's been the corn.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Mazes and mazes like that, but ours is actually indoors
and undercover and.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
So that's how we started the Halloween part of it.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Well, it's it's It started off.
Speaker 8 (10:25):
Where we were doing a kind of a rotation like
we did with our petting farm we had, and it
was for families during the day. We didn't get into
the nighttime.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
Right off the hawk.
Speaker 8 (10:35):
So one story I remember James played Captain Hook back
then at the treehouse with the and it was daytime
for the kids and the families. So we did have
the Haunted Barn. We've always had the Haunted Barn.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
Chris, No can you hear me?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh, I'll go find Chris. Okay, testing testing.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
I have a very lone for unless I'm yelling at James,
then it's.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I can't hear you.
Speaker 8 (11:08):
So we were doing a rotation where they start off
at one of the one of the outbuildings before on it,
and then the kids were transferred all the way through
and the one year, I think it was in our
second year, it got so busy.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
The one day that.
Speaker 8 (11:22):
James was just at the treehouse, he was going, when
do I get my break? Kind I'm going no, honey,
there's no break. So and then all a lot of
the families were saying, you know, it's so good when
you got going on for the kids here, why don't
you have something for the adults at night?
Speaker 5 (11:37):
And then we kind of thought, you know what, Yeah,
let's transfer this into the night.
Speaker 8 (11:40):
So we've we've seen his switch over the twenty seven
years where it's gone from the daytime where the nighttime
now is the big thing and it's a lot of
fun at night. Not that the daytime wasn't fun with
the families too. We still have something for the kids.
They get to go through with their flashlights. It's kind
of like our lead up to the Haunted House for
the when they get older, because they all want to
(12:00):
come at nighttime and the parents all say to me
at the ticket booth.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Oh, they watch horror movies. They can do it, they
can see it.
Speaker 8 (12:07):
And they come back to me afterwards crying and says,
I'm sorry, I should have listened to you. And so
then I will give them passes to come to our daytime,
which is more suitable for the young kids.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
Because they go through with their flashlights and it's really cool.
Speaker 8 (12:21):
And our flashlight kind of started when our kids were little,
because we're the creepy parents. That was their bedtime story.
We would go through the haunted houses at nighttime with
the flashlight.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
With the kids before they got to go to bed.
So I love that. So that was cool.
Speaker 8 (12:37):
So that's kind of how the flashlight kind of started.
And now our kids are are fully helping us.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Run it and stuff, so it's kind of cool. Yeah. Sorry,
and I said, I wasn't gonna say thing.
Speaker 7 (12:46):
Yeah, it's pretty good for going talking.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
So yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
The But to get back into what we're talking about here,
when we first moved into the house, we were renovating
the whole house, so I hadna we did.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
We left.
Speaker 6 (13:05):
We left the house alone and I had a mobile
home that we lived in because the house was just
a wreck. It was built to nineteen hundreds and it
was it needed a whole region with TLC.
Speaker 7 (13:16):
Yeah, little TLC. So we did TLC for.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Six months and uh we we finally got into it.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
And I phoned my dad one night and I said, man,
does this souse ever have a lot of noises? And
he says, well, what do you mean? I go, wea
creeks and cracks and sometimes it sounds.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
Like people are walking all over the place, and I
know that sounds funny and weird to people. So we
actually just kind of brushed it off. And then one day.
One day, we.
Speaker 7 (13:51):
I was going upstairs to the third floor.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
It's a three story house, and I swear to god,
I woke up and I'll see this little girl at
the top of the stairs, all dressed in white and
a silhouette. And as soon as I saw, I blinked
and she was gone.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
And I thought, well, this is really weird.
Speaker 7 (14:10):
I haven't been drinking, and you know, you know, there's
nothing what's going on here.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
So I kind of laughed about it.
Speaker 6 (14:19):
I told Judy about it, and we had a good
laugh about it. But then we started putting a lot
of things together. We get a lot of footsteps, we
get a lot of footsteps coming down the maid's quarter,
and we've got two sets of stairs.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
We have a maid's quarters, and.
Speaker 6 (14:35):
Then we also have a full, big, big stairs that
go all the way to the third floor, big double stairs,
really fancy stairs and old style. Like I said, the
house is nineteen.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Hundreds farmhouse, farms, old farmhouse.
Speaker 8 (14:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
And we have been in the living room where all
of us are in the living room, and we do have.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Cats and dogs. We're all sitting in the living room
watching TV, and all.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
Sudden you'll hear thumb someone coming downstairs kind of look
at each other, the kids and everybody, and we run
to the stairs and there's nobody's there. And that happens
where now it happens, and we don't even look, We
don't even say anything.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's just something that happens all the time.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
And when people say, like how often I remember when
you guys were you guys.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Will say how often does this happen? You know what
it happens.
Speaker 7 (15:35):
I was sort of taking note on it, and happens
a lot.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
But we're just so used to it. And I think
it's a he. I think it's a guy. That's what
I keep saying, the shadow Man. It's a guy.
Speaker 6 (15:49):
And he's not he's more mischievous than he is like
evil or mad.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Or he's the limited, not at all, not at all.
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
And what about the dogs.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Like what about the keep your animals? How many animals.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
React about theologue that doesn't talk talking?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah, you can take.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
It off to I think they're kind of used to
it too, Like I mean, my little dog Izzie.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Will just all of a sudden start barking out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
This is a new dog we have, This is a
new dog we have.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
Yeah, yeah, or rather, we had three Australian shepherds.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
They finally passed away.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
They were all fifteen sixteen years old. But before we
got the new one, they would just stop and stare
somewhere and it would be kind of freaky when you're
not used to it.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
But then we just got used to it after a.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
While, right, Yeah, But well, how shadow Man kind of
we gave it the name getting into that when we
were working in the Haunted houses because we change everything
every year, so we're in there moving things around, taking
down sets, stabling up walls, taking you know, whatever off
everything all over the place and walking through there and
(17:03):
I would have an experience James and I have experienced,
but we wouldn't say anything. And this went on for
I don't know, a couple of years. It's just something
weird just happened in the barn's dark whatever. And then
it wasn't until your cousin kind of came over and
he was talking about when James did did were you
in the barn? Like there was like a shadow you
could see the shadow that just kind of would just
(17:24):
kind of go by you.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
And that's kind of how we gave it the name
shadow Man. And we just kept it to ourselves. It
wasn't until actually when was you guys were out four years.
Speaker 8 (17:32):
Or years ago that we actually just kind of started
talking about it. And it's just been something with our
staff and ourselves and just kind of and I think
probably because of your podcast. Yeah, probably because of your
podcast is how we brought it.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
It's all my whole Yeah. Otherwise he was always our secret.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
So so, like she was saying, my cousin says to me,
this is like second year in we're setting up the
inside of the barn, and we never said nothing to him,
or we never really we don't really talk about it.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
We never really talked about it for years.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
And finally he says to me, he says, do you
have like bats in here?
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Or birds? Like, what are you talking about? He goes
this thing walk past me.
Speaker 6 (18:17):
I thought it was the lights, but it wasn't the lights,
and I just.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Kind of said to it, my boy, I guess he
saw it. He goes saw on, I go, will the
shadow walks around. We didn't call it anything. We just
called it the shadow, and.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
He would he would be he's he moves from the
different parts of the farm, from the house to the barn.
I've got this place called Paratrain and the Clown area,
and I think when you guys were there, he was
really he was really big in the train.
Speaker 7 (18:50):
Yeah, he kept setting off the alarms.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
I have those IMPI red things.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Yeah, the alarms are going off like crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
We'd all be in one area and the alarm would
be going off in another one.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
And yeah, for absolutely no reason.
Speaker 6 (19:01):
Yeah, and that's like he just he moves past it.
Speaker 7 (19:05):
I don't know the shadow moves fast or whatever.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
But there was a horrific thing that happened at the farm.
I don't want to get to it into details about
it because he is a friend of ours still, the
original grandson of the person who made the farm, and
they had an effort.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
You know, I found the details. I found the newspapers.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
I was going to share that one day, not here,
but you know, come up.
Speaker 8 (19:32):
There was an there was an accident. There was an
accident and the neighbors.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
And there was an accident.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (19:42):
Yeah, and we're not sure if the spirit is just
still hanging around. I don't know, but it was it
was almost like a female voice though, right.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
There's something still hanging around. But because there was like.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
There was activity on the outskirts too, right, so activity.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, but I think you know, like if any of
you who who's all seen a ghost?
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Who is anybody seen experienced?
Speaker 6 (20:04):
Right?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Okay, So in saying that, like I mean, when you've
got ghosts and people that die on a property or
in a house, that doesn't necessarily mean they're going to
stay there in a haunt. You've got transient spirits. So
I think personally, whatever they have attached to their property
is attached to the land because it's very old maintain
script land. Yes, yeah, so I think if anything, because
(20:26):
that barn you have was the original house, right, like
I mean that.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
Little little yeah yeah, the stone building goes back to
eighteen eighteen sixty on the taxes for Rossers, so it's
it's old.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
So in my opinion, again just a humble opinion, I
think if anything, if if I may be brazen to safe, it.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Has to do with the land and not with what happened.
That's just mine.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, well think it could it could be.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
It could be.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
They don't they don't talk.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
That's what we say.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
Well they did when you were picking up stuff, Yeah,
we were definitely typed.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
You have stuff.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:00):
Yeah, you said you were picking up the chains are
jingling or something.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yeah, I kept hearing chains like it was. I I
don't know how to explain it, but that's what sounded
like chains kind of banging together or being moved.
Speaker 8 (21:16):
Well, and I well, I know back in the day,
like ours had the old wagon trail that would.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Go through our farm, like all the way.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
To to Stonewall.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
Yeah, okay, before before they head it was a trail,
it was a trail.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:30):
That's where the original trail going to Stonewall goes in
the back of our yard.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
That goes all the way up that way. Yeah, then
went through the farm piece of lund.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
There's lots of history with us.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
And with respects to the Little Girl. Have you seen
the Little Girl lately?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
I've I've only seen it the one time, the one time,
only the one time.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Can you tell the story I should that's horrible. Can
you tell the story about when you have people that
sleep over in that long room.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Of your house? I love the story.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
We used to have, uh people we used to go and,
like I said, to these convention self and stuff. So
we had some of our uh our staff would stay
and and rach children and tie and they would stay over.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
And watch the kids and watch the farm and all
the animals and everything. But they hated staying in the house. Yeah,
they said it just creeped them out. They don't know
what it was, right, but it just creeped them out.
And we said, you know, it is a man, it's
not bad.
Speaker 9 (22:31):
We used to always joke about it to trying to
calm everybody down about and uh, but they would not
go in the one room that has the it doesn't
have a fireplace, but it's got the fireplace.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Shouldn't mean that goes all the way to the top
to the third floor. Oh, in that room they do
not like. Our kids never liked.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
We had it as a playroom, but they never went
playing in there.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
So yeah, there's one room that is kind of a
weird room, right, just but is.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
That the same one where people sleep on the savory
there was that Well that that's that's the kids. Oh yeah,
the kids have all their old like they have stories
that we've never really heard about until they started talking
about the story and everything about every everything that happens
in the house. My daughter swears that someone wakes her
(23:18):
up and and and is right there in front of
her face.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Hm, that's creeky. I've had that happened before.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
Yes, not a pleasant experience.
Speaker 10 (23:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
And and we had some staff that that have been
been with us for a lot of years, and there's
they said there was no way that they they will
want work in the bar to do.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
They just can't.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Catherine comes to my mind right off the hops.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
She was working in the one year and halfway through the.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
Season, she just said, you know what, I.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
I can't do it anymore.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
I can't do it.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
So so one of my gags was I had had
her up chained chained against a fence so it looked
like she was chained, but she wasn't.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
And then she would run out of people and scare them.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
But apparently the shadow Man came right up to her
and she came running and crying out of the barn
and she.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Says, I'm not fucking working there.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
I'm all working there.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Crazy And she went home. Oh yeah, wow, yeah, yeah,
So that didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
But I remember, if I could use the grazing again,
I remember the story that woman had some of the
people to.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Work for you and they sleep in that one room.
They all have the same dream.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
They have the same dream.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Maybe they just hold me up.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
They have a dream where they're falling down the stairs.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
They've all had.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
I don't remember that.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Oh yeah, I'll have to go back to that episode.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
First three people were telling me that they were having
the same dream and they slept in the hunt.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
Okay, so falling down.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
The stairs, but it wasn't there.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Yeah, So, and I always wondered if it was connected
as the little girl that.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
They were seeing. You know, I don't work. We went
so far as when I saw the little girl. We
went we went to the we went to the gravesite.
That's actually there's a grave site that belongs to part
of the property that used to be the Mile by Mile.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
They gave it to the community and that's where they
are buried, the original family.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
So I thought, well, maybe there was a little girl, right,
but there wasn't.
Speaker 8 (25:14):
So, yeah, that that's a mystery to us. We're not
so we have a lot of the different things that happened.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Our son, yes, okay, so that's that just happened this year.
So he's I'll go, Okay, we got to set up this,
this and this and so he's.
Speaker 6 (25:33):
Out there setting up, and then he comes to the house,
he sets up, He comes the house, he sets up,
and then he finally goes.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
You know, I can't do it. I can't do He's
he's very active. He's having with me. I can't believe it,
but I can't. I can't do this. And so I said, okay,
we will. We will go and I'll go with you
and we'll do it.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Can you guys take the mic off and hold it?
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (25:56):
Is it really?
Speaker 3 (25:57):
They just can't hear you in the back.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Just put pull it out there.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
We go, okay, okay, is that there?
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Perfect?
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Awesome, awesome, So I'll do it again.
Speaker 6 (26:10):
My son was he's now twenty two years old, twenty three,
and he was out setting up the barn and we.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Have three different areas that we set up.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
And he's setting up the barn and he's coming in
the house and he's setting up the barn and he's
coming in the house and he finally says.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Dad, I can't do it. I can't.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
He's messing with me all day. And this is we're
talking two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Okay, So I said, okay, go help. Yeah, and just
I just ignore it.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
For just because it's there all the time, right, So
it's really hard to explain to some people that it's
happening and.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
You're just going with it because what else is he
gonna do. He doesn't, you know, a trip you or no, no,
or he doesn't know hits you. He can move things
sometimes sometimes he will move things.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
Like we had a prop that.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
We used to we used to put at the tie
at the top of the ceiling and would hang down
and it was like an arm lake.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
It was an arm anleg actually and both yeah, And
we would come into the barn and it would be
swinging and there's no windows, there's no nothing, there's no birds,
it's all closed off and it's swinging right.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
And then and then you know, you walk around and
you can come back and it's not swinging it and
you're not even touching it.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
And I think too, just because your family has been
there this last thirty years, you know, if anything, it's
going to show yourself to your family and.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Knows you guys, you're there all the time. So as
opposed to like just around person, you're showing up. I
think it thinks it's probably part of your family.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
If anything, that's that's true. And you know, I thought
you guys were coming over and you know, nothing's gonna happen.
This is embarrassing, right, But it was good. It was
a good night.
Speaker 10 (28:09):
It was it was a great night.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
But that's that's what he does.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
And I think that year he was more active in
terror Train.
Speaker 8 (28:16):
And that's what all of the kids are saying too,
that the kids have actually set up a shrine in
terror Train. They have we have his old antlers and
every year, pardon me, the staff that have been there
for years, they bring something and they hang.
Speaker 5 (28:29):
It on to the antlers of the shrine. And that's
just their gift to the shadow Man, that's what.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
And you've just been called that the shadow man. Yeah, yeah,
so they I don't know if that helps him or whatever,
but he seems to be fine with it. I think
he likes the attention with everybody's screaming.
Speaker 7 (28:47):
And yelling going through our place.
Speaker 8 (28:50):
Then remember that one picture that we had taken when
we were doing in the top of Every year, we
change our theme, so that's how we can tell when
people have been out to our farm. If they say,
I really like when you did the assignment more when
you did the I don't know what did we have
in the barn that year where we had the caskets
all up there and we had the kids.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Something zombie, I don't remember what it was, but we had.
Speaker 8 (29:11):
A casket out there and we had all the stuff.
They were taking a picture of it, like photo shoot
right and stuff. And when we go to look at
the picture, like later on when you guys were there,
we noticed we noticed the the orbs that were.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
In the in the photos that were there, so like
rain in the middle of the photo of like off
to the side or off to the right left, if
there's like break with everybody.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
Yeah, we just we just think, like he just has
one in October, so it's not an alimited guy or anything.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
So we just think it.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
So we don't know what this year.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
It seems like he's in.
Speaker 8 (29:41):
The barn, like I said, Lad, But when you guys
were there was terror train. I remember when he was
in the clowns and so he kind of makes his
room around.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yeah, so who we were thinking.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
Maybe it was because we had a lot of antiques.
We do like real crops, so we do a lot
of antiques, and we do a lot of hospital stuff
and like real stuff, and we were thinking maybe he's
attached to something right. So this year we moved everything
around again and now he's back in the barn, so
it's quite possible he's attached.
Speaker 10 (30:13):
To something right.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Yeah, And it's very possible, I mean if he's yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Can you think of anything off the top of your
head that you specifically move from the train.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
To the barn.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
There's so much, I know, there's so much, and that's
a hard question.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
You know, it's changed everything to five nights of Freddy,
so it changed everything around, and then we went to
you know, we're doing Wednesday this year, like never worn stuff.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
So it's totally changed.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
We changed so much and I'm going to start actually
I've been.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Thinking about that.
Speaker 6 (30:43):
Oh we should maybe keep track of because maybe I
could find out what it is right, the same thing
I don't really want to leave there.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Yeah yeah, so maybe just to switch things up a
little later. So what respects to your business? Because it
is a business and you work so hard at what
have you got?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
And I know the answer.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
When do you guys start working from Clober?
Speaker 2 (31:04):
When do you start set up.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
November first?
Speaker 6 (31:11):
Yeah, we started planning right after we start getting ideas
from the staff and everything and what we want to see.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
But usually May June when it starts thawing out, that
we can get into everything and everything to the rebuild.
It's got to be thought out sort of thing. So
we started this year at the end of May. Wow,
and then we take everything apart and we all start
over when we get and for this year.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
What are your games this year?
Speaker 2 (31:36):
We'll see this year.
Speaker 8 (31:38):
Well, five Nights at freddy or we changed into six
Nights at Freddy's was so well received that we decided
to also the bottom of the Barn incorporate that.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
So the bottom of the barn is where a lot
of the is.
Speaker 8 (31:52):
Anybody who watched that or played that game, your kids
probably have that Five Nights at freddy Has anybody seen
that movie or anything anything. Yeah, it's kind of similar
where they take you know, people and they turn them
into ananotronics or you know, So it's kind of that's
what's going on at the bottom of the barn. They're
dealing people and we are a very interactive hunt. So
some people might get left behind, some people might get
(32:14):
put someplace.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
You know.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
There's that kind of fun stuff, right and shit paths,
shit happens and the clowns for that.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
This year what it's called Pinky's blood Bath.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
So it's all things.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Gore if you can imagine.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
So we're gonna we're gonna talk about Peaky here. If
anybody is from the end of Saint James.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
So you used to.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
Speak an ice cream parlor called Pinky's Parlor.
Speaker 7 (32:41):
Anybody remember that?
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Anybody any remember.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
That from Winnipeg. Anyways, it's a very old place and
I was a kid. We used to stop off there
before we go out of town and get.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Some ice cream. That's hard, remember it.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
So I kind of made it after that we call
it Peaky's Parlor, and then we turned the blood bath on.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
But my dad had an old he used to deliver.
Speaker 6 (33:05):
Donuts when he was very young, and he has a
nineteen fifty metro van. So I took that and I
make it so people have to go through the metro van,
painted up an ice cream theme on it and stuff
like that, and that's how we kind of started off that.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Everybody knows when you hear that creepy cloud music.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
Coming do yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:27):
So that's that's how it got that. And then we
did this year, which is such a big hit is
that never more? With Wednesday, we actually have a cast
that looks just like Fester.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
When he sent me his resume and his photo, I
running downstairs and I said, could this have dropped in
our lap any better?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
He looks just like I'm Mo Fester, and it's not
like you offended it. He's like, oh great, yeah, no, yeah,
that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
And same with Wednesday.
Speaker 6 (33:56):
One of our actor actresses have been with us for
a while and so we've got her dressed up Wednesday
and actually.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
We're going to be doing a little a little video
of them coming in the yard with the Hurst. Nice
that we just find something.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Yeah, but so yeah, most people say, now I'm not
a new car.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
Our new car is we've got a hearse.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
So now we have the Acta one, we have the
Hurst and we also have so that was my next thing.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
That we should tell everybody about your Acto case they
don't know.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
Oh yeah, I got I've got the only Acta one
in Canada of when I first built it twenty years ago.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Okay, and also made a film about building the car.
Speaker 6 (34:35):
It's just getting actually to the park where they're they're
putting it out. So I've got the ACTA one and.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Also i have the mystery machine that i'm building park
building up.
Speaker 6 (34:49):
So yeah, we got three cars now some female Cruisi
together now yeah, perfect.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
I finally get something to drive. I'm not going to
drive to go a s fuster car.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
No, you're enough, but that takes some skill to park
it where you got it parked? Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Oh yeah, just like this one.
Speaker 4 (35:10):
Yeah, front, this one bag it's just like right in there.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
No, nobody's walking off with it, not at all.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
No, And it's not a challenge to Winnipeg by anything.
Speaker 8 (35:19):
So no, no, No.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
The car is twenty two feet long, so it's a
it's a pretty big car. Yeah, it's made from a
fifty nine Cadillac SMS. There's only eighty of the maid
in the world, so it's one of eighty.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
So it's a really rare piece when it comes to
the auto or a history sort of thing.
Speaker 8 (35:37):
Before we started our Halloween and our farm business, James
used to restore anti cars, so that was his job.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
And he when we looked at buying the farm, he
thought it was great.
Speaker 8 (35:47):
It was a shop he could continue renovating his cars
and building antique cars. And then kind of the whole
thing kind of took over and now he doesn't do
as much. There's no time.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
Yeah, when I retire, I'm gonna rese.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Does anybody have any questions for trick j the Boks'
sis on cursions questions?
Speaker 10 (36:11):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (36:12):
At the frontier, does a shadow man.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Or whatever it did every lot of physical with anybody? No, No, never,
I ever.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
It's I think the most it's ever done was come
like really close to you, like like shadow right in
front of your face sort of thing.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
And that's about it. No one's ever been tripped, no
push or anything like that.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
W That's what That's what we say.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
It's probably like a trickster, right.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
You're that I like a question, this idea is that
to do this?
Speaker 10 (36:44):
Mean in your story?
Speaker 2 (36:45):
She was like, I didn't you do that?
Speaker 8 (36:48):
Right?
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Did you do thetory of sheets?
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Could be?
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Do displate that?
Speaker 6 (36:54):
That was me.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Wanted to Winnipeg and I made it. Making it out
of the nineteen sixty two teams and the four Games
is like a little a little.
Speaker 6 (37:06):
Mini van back in the sixties that looks kind of
like a four ye It's only ten feet long at
leeds fifteen hundred pounds and putting an l at six
point two and then yeah, it's gonna.
Speaker 10 (37:17):
Go like sni.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Thanks.
Speaker 8 (37:23):
We ended up buying the prop that goes with it
is a zombie crew for the mystery machine, so all
the crew is with them, but they're zombied up, so
that goes in front of the car now for photos
and things.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, Scooby fuck yeaho Scooby looks really
cool at the back.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Like a medium.
Speaker 5 (37:51):
Story, Well, we Ashley can answer that one.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
We did it bring a medium with us, but we
do have mediums on our team that if you want
us to arrange, we can definitely have that come happen
for you.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
We have always talked about doing that. And that's about
as far as it gets, just because our lives. If
you could appreciate us.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
He's so busy with everything.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
That we do that is just kind of just before
you know, the year is gone and here we go again.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
And yeah, but it we should, it really really should.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Yeah let's mark it down for like.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we have to.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
Well, like like Judy is saying, he's in the barn
this year so far, he's really prevalent at the bottom
of the bar at the top of the barn, at
the bottom of the bar, and he does. He goes
from the top to the bottom. Like like last last
year Arker was saying he was in the top of
the mark. They were freaking out a little bit up there,
and yeah.
Speaker 7 (38:53):
Like this year he's in the bottom of it.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
But again, just to clarify it, it's not so scary
that they still have this. Seems to have to come
back every year every year. So I made it's not
that bad, right, Yeah, that's right, that's yeah, yeah there.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
I mean there are some that said they won't work
in the barn, but they work in the other mode houses.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
So yeah, any other questions comments, No.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Okay, perfect, What else did I gonna say?
Speaker 1 (39:24):
So maybe just to explain me and Cher from the podcast,
we got James and Jim in touch with Passion Film
from the Open Parent Our group and we were.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
Actually able to get you guys.
Speaker 11 (39:36):
I think it was like two nights and three nights
before he opened, right, yeah, about years ago, just chatting out,
you know, and and he gave us a tour and
the ladies brought all their tools investigation tools like New
Years and with some of the other.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Oh what else did we get a lot of tools.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
Oh, we had the triple line, which will life that's
my favorite.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
So the nice thing about James and if there's such
awesome people that.
Speaker 12 (40:02):
When we were done for the thing, they're like, you guys,
don't come check with the house and it's just like
you not to live there, but okay, and you guys,
like your lights were flashing and one channel lyric you
didn't notice that because you're so immune to.
Speaker 5 (40:14):
It, I think, right, but I don't even think the point.
Speaker 12 (40:17):
We're like, does that.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Always do that?
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Because it wasn't like loose baalbs, you know, And they're like, oh,
I never noticed it.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
And then and then the coolest part for me, and
I think would also solidified it for my husband, who
was skeptical, you know, type a personality.
Speaker 10 (40:39):
Yes, the best thirty years of life. And with respects
to Ashton Kelly, they used the trip line on that staircase.
Speaker 11 (40:50):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
That's the craziest part.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
They put the trip light where the little girl's been
seen on that one side of the stairs.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
And I think Kelly was at the top, you at
the bottom, and you were asking the questions.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
Yeah, yeah, so I was asking questions and what for
those of you who don't know what the trip line
is is, it's a series of lights. So we were
able to put them down the staircase in between myself
and Kelly, and as we were asking questions, you could
actually see the lights light up one at a time
(41:21):
coming down the staircase.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
So it was really awesome and never got at all.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
They are you can't just hit them.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
I just hit them like you've gotta like basically go
wack them.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Not that you do.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
I'm we gotta make sure your product. Yeah yeah, yeah,
that was something you know, one of us was videoing
and I can't remember about It was just like it
just went off every time.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Ashley would ask a question.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
Yeah, like we were getting responses and stuff.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Yeah, it was an awesome night.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 7 (41:54):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
I know it's been two years, but thank you to
do it again.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
Yea sure for sure.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
Drinks Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
Long do we go here a week twenty two? Any
last questions otherwise we will take a short break and
we encourage you guys. We've got an amazing vendor on
the side here. We've got Filthy Little Things Soap Company,
so come check them out. Of course myself and Jazz
have tables set up as well. Refill your drinks, sign
(42:30):
up for ghost Stories, and don't forget to enter your
name into the ballot for the prizes tonight.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
Yes, and of course, as always said, schedule. Totally appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
Well, this is this is really a first for both
of us, so I do feel a little like.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Can't talk.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
Well, thank you for so much.
Speaker 7 (42:56):
I appreciate it, Thank you much.
Speaker 1 (42:57):
Thanks, and has actually said please help yourself gon do
drobbing that prizes for tonight.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
Definitely put your name in for that.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Yeah,
