another breaking news edition of good News for Lefties. I'm
Beowelf Rocklin, your host. This is a big one, folks.
Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air less than a
week after ABC and Disney suspended his late night show

following his comments about the death of Charlie Kirk and
Republican attempts to exploit it. The Old Disney Company announced
Monday that, after meaningful discussions with Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmellive will
return to the airwaves Tuesday. Here is the quote from
Disney last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production

on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation
at an emotional moment for our country. It is a
decision we made because we felt some of the comments
were ill timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the
last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations,
we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.

Disney's initial decision to suspend the show came after Trump's
head of the FCC, Brendan Carr, threatened ABC and its
owner Disney over Kimmel's comments. Here's what he said, quote,
this is a very very serious issue right now for Disney.
We can do this the easy way or the hard way. That,

my friends, is a threat. That is gangster language. Over
the last few days, ABC engaged in an open dialogue
with kimme out, leading to the plan to resume the show,
while continuing to reflect on the impact of public discourse
during this emotional moment for the country. As they said
they should be reflecting on is a decision to cave

to an authoritarian dictator, but you managed to turn them around.
On September fifteenth, Kimmel addressed the political atmosphere surrounding Kirk's killing,
criticizing efforts by right wingers to frame the accused shooter
for political advantage. The suspension drew strong support for Kimmel

from many voices across the cultural and political spectrum, including
former President Barack Obama and entertainment figures like David Letterman
and even Ted Cruz. That's right. Even though he didn't
support Kimmel directly, he said that what Brendan Carr said
sounded like gangster language to him, and indeed it was.

This moment is a huge victory for freedom of speech,
the truth, and a blow against the authoritarian Trump regime.
And it's a tribute to everyone who spoke up against
what Disney did, complained, canceled their Disney owned streaming subscriptions,
sold their stock, or called them out in any way,
