your day. Costco is suing the Trump administration over its tariffs,
arguing that the White House has exceeded its executive authority
in instant tariffs and that it should be entitled to
a refund if the tariffs are found unconstitutional. In a
lawsuit filed to the Court of International Trade, the retail

giant argued the Trump administration had misused the federal law,
the International Emergency Powers Act i EEPA, that it cited
to impose the tariffs. I EEPA grants the president's certain power,
but they may only be exercised to deal with an
unusual and extraordinary threat with respect to a national emergency

that has been declared for the purposes of this Chapter,
and may not be exercised for any other purposes. Costco
said in the lawsuit. Quoting the law, the largest warehouse
club chain in the US also pointed out the law
does not use the word tariff or any term of

over Trump's tariffs, and justices in the conservative majority courts
or appeared skeptical over the White House's arguments that the
IEEPA covers Trump's tariffs, customs, and border protection. The federal
agency that collects tariffs liquidates or finalizes the total amount
of tariffs an importer owes three hundred and fourteen days

after the goods enter the country. Federal courts have warned
that importers may lack legal rights to recover refunds or
tariffs for goods that have been liquidated, even where the
underlying legality of a tariff is later found to be unlawful.
In addition to halting this liquidation, Costco is asking the
Court of International Trade to declare Trump's tariffs illegal, stop

the collection of duties and order a refund for any
of Trump's tariffs that costco paid. Mayor elect Zorhan Mamdani
and Senator Bernie Sanders joined the picket line with striking
Starbucks workers in Park Slope, New York this week. The
workers at unionized stores have been on strike since last

month as they demand a contract that includes better hours
and higher pay. These are not demands of greed, These
are demands for decency. Mom Donnie said, these are workers
who are simply asking to be treated with the respect
they deserve. They're being asked that their labor be repaid
in a manner that allows them to build a dignified life.

Sanders has been a big supporter of Mam Donnie, a
democratic socialist who ran on populist worker friendly policies. Starbucks
Workers United represents more than twelve thousand baristas at over
six hundred locations nationally. Striking Starbucks workers are telling this
company that they are sick and tired of corporate greed
and sick and tired of union busting. Sanders said on

line is happening all over this country. We are living
in an economy where the people on top have never
ever had it so good. So this week Starbucks agreed
to pay around thirty nine million dollars to more than

at registers. It was a move meant to boycott the
home improvement chain in response to immigration and customs enforcements

in the ice scraper boycott, which also involved picketing in
