Bobby stands between the threshing steed andthe man with the cane, who cannot
fire for fear of hitting Bobby.Meg and Bobby comes. The animal slowly
stops struggling. A look comes intoa but tells Bobby the wild horse will
cost a horse. Still, letme move the bow and freearfoot. Please

rock suddenly releases the giant horse,a colomino, heaves himself quickly to his
feet, and throwing his silvery manein the air, he dashes back into
the box canyon to freedom. Freedom. He is still a prisoner. He
can escape only through the narrow pass. Now Bobby seeks to protect his friend
from Hank, the horse thief.He follows him deeper and deeper into the
canyon, and the bearded man watchingfrom the high ridge shakes his fist,

anger where the kid cowboys saved youthis time, wild horse? But I'll
getch you, Noladay. As Bobbyclambers over the rocks, his eyes intent
on the wild horse, he callsto him body fails to see a new
enemy, a mountain lion. Defenseless, the young cowboy turns to face the
creature set to spring on him froma boulder above. Frozen to the spot,

Bobby knows his thing and realizes he'shelped. He can't run, he
has no weapon of defense, andany second the beast will spring. Then
suddenly comes a thundering of hooves andthe shrill cry of the wild stagions,
And just as the lion springs towardBobby, the iron hooves of the giant
animal crash down when the lion liesstill, You saved my life as well,
