you guys are having an amazing week Hope you guys
(01:33):
are going up and gearing for an amazing, safe, fun
loving weekend. But until now, let's go to talk about
some professional wrestling today in my show. First segment, we
got ww ME SmackDown preview. Next, we're gonna talk about
some some of we're gonna talk about the Rock. The
Rock is coming on Smackdown'm gonna talk about you know,
future storylines, potentially maybe possible rivalries if not he starts
(01:56):
a new one or if he continues to pursue Cody.
Then after that we're we're going to talk about some
NXT great episode of w w E NXC. Then we're
gonna go ahead and move on to some eew dynamite,
and in our fifth and final segment, we have a
new faction appearing on WWE NXT Vengince Day, kind of
looking like in a little reboot of Retribution mixed with
(02:19):
the Shield. So we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna
talk about some storylines, some bookings that that WWE could
possibly avoid to kind of you know, the kind of
divert you know, any kind of you know, disastrous or
anything like that. Uh, you know, you know, because we
want everybody to success, and I think it could work.
I think it can work, but you know, hey, we'll
(02:39):
dive into it, you know, during the fifth segment first
and foremost before we start. Whenever you guys see a
live show on any of the you know, any of
the YouTube networks, any of the shows, just be sure
that we definitely love your guys's input. Definitely want you
guys to feel absolutely comfortable. Do not be shot, drop
your thoughts inside the comment section, drop your thoughts and
(03:00):
the chat, and you know, yeah, do whatever you can
to get noticed on the show. We definitely do appreciate
you guys. You guys are obviously a thousand and ten
percent the live blood of the reason why we do
what we do, all these amazing, passionate, enthusiastic podcasters, the
reason why they, you know, they do the things they
want to do is they want to they want to
make sure that you guys consume all the sports content
(03:20):
that you guys love so damn much. And guess what,
it's absolutely one percent for free. Why not smash that Superman?
Why not so damn it Superman punched I like a
subscribe button. Basically, you have nothing to lose. Why not
you know, hit that, you know, just hit that. Sorry, no,
moving on. Uh, we got SmackDown. W WE SmackDown. Obviously
(03:45):
it's gearing up to be a good one. I'm you know,
super excited to see it. So it's going to dive
on into it. First and foremost. We have a you know,
we're at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans. Joe
Testatory is actually set to return, which is cool. I didn't,
you know, I really honestly didn't mind vig Joseph last week.
I thought, you know, he did a you know, a
remarkable job, you know, kind of making the talent, kind
(04:08):
of making everything that something that Joseph Testatory does really
really well is to make like he makes everybody look
like it's I don't know if this makes sense. He
makes everybody it looks like it's like a main event caliber,
you know, match, and every single match, every single superstar
to him is like a WWE champion. The way he
talks about him, the way he ultimately kind of markets
(04:30):
them when he's like, you know, hyping him up and
stuff like that. So definitely one thousand and percent. I
do love Joe Testatory back on the map. We have
a match tonight. We have Jimmy Uso taking out Drew McIntyre.
You know, Drew McIntyre I believe is going to win
the elimination Chamber. I don't know why I have a
feeling because I feel like, you know, him building up
(04:50):
momentum to take on Cody Rhoads. You know, Cody Roads
obviously the biggest baby face in the world of WWE
right now. You have someone like Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre,
he's he's he's heel ish, but he's not necessarily wrong
about everybody kind of kind of jumping back to Roman
Reigns's side when he came back and he really hasn't.
He really hasn't orchestrated any type of apology to the
(05:13):
way he used to treat his family. There's been like
little you know, there's been little, you know, little scenes
here and there of him, you know, kind of be like, oh,
you know, maybe I was a jerk. Maybe you know
I did, you know, over overstep my boundaries and obviously
treats you guys like crud. But I that's the part
of Drea Mcritarre that I feel like if he Maine
(05:34):
event in WrestleMania, I think it'd be good. It'd be
great for him. You know, he's a main event caliber wrestler.
Will they do it? I heard they've been kind of
having rumors about him, and you know, Damian Priest starting
a stunning a rivalry. I'm not too sure if I'm
all for that, But you know, to be honest, tonight,
I feel like Drew McIntyre is gonna win, build up
someone MAT's up next. We had the Street Profits looking
to build momentum toward their tag teams how to run.
(05:58):
I feel like they need to be champions. I love God,
I love both these guys. Dawkins Ford obviously, I feel
like they are main event caliber tag team wrestlers. Montes
Ford I believe is a future WWE champion without a doubt.
He's amazing inside the ring, he's great on the mic,
and he's just you know, very marketable as a champion.
(06:20):
D'Angelo Dawkins obviously, you know, not leaving him in the
cold because him, you know, him and him and himsel
damn it. He's talented too, very very talented. He has
what it takes to be a champion, single champion. I'm
not too sure like if montes Ford went down with
an injury, obviously, you know, God forbid, would he be
(06:42):
able to kind of stand on his own And you know,
if the if the question was asked like vice versa,
I feel like it would be easier to be like,
oh yeah, montes Ford would be fine. Montes Ford would
be fine, but D'Angelo Dawkins would probably, you know, kind
of falter a little bit, you know, kind of you know,
once when the tag team you know, kind of break apart,
there's always one that thrives. There's always one that kind
(07:05):
of you know, falters down, not too successful, gets bad
bookings because he's a tag team wrestler. You know, look
at what happened with the USO's j USO was immediately
main event Jay Usso, He's a star. Jimmy Usso kind
of not really good. It was like, Okay, what's the
storyline left for Jimmy Usso to to ultimately appear in
week after week after week and w W. You know
(07:28):
that's why once when Jimmy Usso came back from injury,
they felt like, Okay, you know, we're not gonna revamp this.
You know, rivalry between him and his brother, they are
ultimately better together, you know, even if they're not tag
teaming as like a babyface, you know, kind of like
I watch your back, you watch my back. We're brothers
and stuff like that. I feel like it's overall better
(07:49):
than all Let's just make them make him a total, total,
total hue and just have him be a total jerk.
But I'm looking forward to see what the Street Profits
have in store for SmackDown. We're bound to get a
nice little domination Chambers standoff between all the competitors Logan,
Paul Damian, Price, seth Rawlins, Drew McIntyre, JOHNSONA and CM Punk.
All six of these men probably going to be on
(08:10):
raw and SmackDown for the next two weeks. We got
two shows left from Raw and SmackDown, So obviously building
up momentum to see who's going to main event WrestleMania,
because you know, I love myself some Jay Luso, love
Goon thir thusy of ten percent, but they're not really
main well in my opinion, obviously one thousand and ten percent.
I would not believe that that's like a night too
(08:32):
main event kind of caliber match. Watching John Cena potentially
winning his seventeenth World Championship against you know, Cody Roads,
seems like it'd be marketable. Seam Punk taking on Cody
Roads would be awesome. Seth Rawlins and you know, I
honestly I don't think Seth Rowlins is gonna win. I
don't think Logan's gonna win. I don't think Damien Priecee
is gonna win. So that it stuck with, you know,
So then we're kind of left with the three men
(08:52):
on the bottom there, Drew McIntire, Johnsona and cm Punk. I.
You know, like I said, I'm a huge Drew McIntire.
I loved him when he was the WWE champion, how
he carried WWE through an unprecedented time that was COVID
nineteen seeing Punk as well. He would be an amazing
opponent for Cody Rhodes, but you know, the the rival
ruy between him seth Rawlins and the whole Roman Reigns thing,
(09:15):
and you know, Paul hayman O's Punk a favor, you know.
So you know, I feel like at this point you
kind of have to have to make it Drew McIntyre
or John Cena, but you know, it could be anything.
We're gonna get momentum building up toward Elimination Chamber for
the unsanctioned match between sammy' zan and Kevin Oas so
I can't wait for that. We have Shinzka nakamorra La
(09:37):
Night possibly building up for a little rematch for the
ww United States Championship at Elimination Chamber maybe, you know,
or you know, for me, honestly, I would kind of
like to see them Miz into it. You know, I
would love to see the Miz kind of implement his
name within the United States title picture. He hasn't had
a title in quite some time, but when he was
(09:57):
the Intercontinental Champion, it kind of put the kind of
put the title on the map. Ellie and I kind
of did the same thing, but I like the Miss.
I feel like the miss still has a lot left
in the tank and he could definitely be that face
of the United States Championship and make it prestigious like
he did the Intercontinental. Chelsea Green needs an opponent for
(10:17):
her WWE Women's United States Championship. WrestleMania seems a little
bit more ideal. Maybe perhaps Elimination Chambers. She defends it.
I don't think she's going to drop the title into WrestleMania.
I feel like both mid card titles, the Intercontinental and
the United States Championship will be dropped at WrestleMania. Right now.
(10:37):
The women's mid card, you know, has been, you know,
kind of getting a lot of scrutiny. I for one,
you know, it's not like I feel like WWE had
a bad decision implementing more titles to the shows. I
just feel like there's no depth in the storylines. You know,
we got Chelsea Green fighting Meechin over and over and
over and over again, and then you have Lavra Valkyrie.
(11:00):
You know, I love to go to Kai, but I
feel like Ivan and I should have won that number
one Contenders match on Monday Night Raw would have made
for you know, would have built their storyline up. So then,
I mean, I was just talking crap this whole entire time.
She eliminated a libra of val Cauria from the Women's
World Rumble and all that was for nothing, absolutely for nothing,
and you know that kind of sucks. So I feel
(11:22):
like both of these women will drop their titles at
WrestleMania kind of like a fresh start. You know, it's
the you know, the super Bowl, the NFL season after
the super Bowl. It's kind of like a you know,
fresh clean start for WWE. But I want to see
Chelsea Green defend that title at WrestleMania to a worthy opponent. Next,
we have liv Morgan and Ricca Rodriguez are making their
way to SmackDown, obviously to address the Jade Cargo thing.
(11:45):
We have a WWE Tag Team Championship match. Pretty deadly
have earned a shot at Tamasco Champa and Jonner Gargano's
tag team titles last week after defeating them. No, it
wasn't last week. I think it was the week. I
think it was a week before that. Yeah, I think
it was a week before that. And you know, it'd
be interesting to see, you know, them drop the titles,
(12:06):
but I doubt it. I personally think they are building
up to a major major match at WrestleMania between four teams,
maybe even those Garza gets involved MotorCity machine guns and
treat profits pretty deadly, you know, kind of your your undercover,
kind of your ace, not ACE in the whole, because
(12:27):
I feel like at this point that I might be
giving them way too much credit, but you know, they
would create that shocking factor. It'd be a new flavor
of how the WWE tag team titles will be represented
on SmackDown. But you know, at this point, I feel
like all four of these teams would represent the tag
team title division really well. Will the aroop thousand and
ten percent? I would, you know, I know recently, well,
(12:49):
not recently. I think it was about two three months ago,
No wait, I think it was late Yeah, I think
it was like three four months ago where they had
that WWE Tag Team Ladder match where the where the
original bloodline Tamatonga and I think it was Fat Fat
two or Tungaloa was because I know Fat two gave
the title to Tangaloa and then you had that Ladder
(13:09):
match where they retained, I believe, and I want to
see something like that again. You know, have these four
you know, have these five tag teams. You know, let's
go ahead and implement those guards in that. It would
be an amazing star studied tag team battle at WrestleMania.
So you know, don't you know, I feel like that'd
be pretty badass or or you know, which would be
totally off guard and which would never ever ever happen
(13:33):
because there's no six to tag team out there. Well, actually,
you know, maybe there might be, you know, maybe Jacob
Fattuu and Tamatonga. What if what if a thousand percent?
What if you have an elimination chamber match on you know,
in two weeks, a tag team elimination chamber match. That
would be pretty bad ass. I would love to see that.
That would be a main event in itself, But it's
(13:55):
gonna happen. Probably not, because you know, you've got to
protect the superstars having them go through a hilasious elimination
schipper match for no reason, you know, kind of like
a okay why, But you know, an Attitude era fan
such as myself, you can always dream. You can always
dream that would be a pretty badass. You know, six
tag teams going at it. It'd be pretty cool. Alexa Bliss,
(14:16):
obviously last week on SmackDown you saw the White Six,
you know a little bit of a you know, a teaser.
I want to see this happen as soon as possible.
I feel like Alexa Bliss will eventually become the WWE
Women's United States Championship. I thought about maybe her reuniting
with Nikki ash obviously part of the y At six
now going after the women's tag team titles. But you know,
(14:37):
for me, I feel like that would be a little lackluster.
I feel like that would ultimately kind of degrade the
value of Lexa Bliss coming back to the WWE. You
saw when she came out into Word Rumble. It absolutely
popped off in Indianapolis. So I would not want to
put this girl in the Women's World Tag Team division.
Have this score represent the United States Championship, defend it
(14:58):
on a you know, week to week base. Says better
than Chelsea Green. You know, we all knew what we
were gonna get once. When Chelsea Green won that championship,
she was just gonna kind of be a face. She
was going to be like a you know, trash hockey.
She was gonna be in a conceited cocky and she's basically,
you know, she's accomplished and checked all the boxes. So
in my opinion, her United States Championship run was a huge, huge,
(15:19):
wopping success. Now you kind of need to have a
little bit something different here. You know, they might be
kind of building up something to the point where kind
of like a Sean Michaels Diesel kind of thing where
you have Chelsea Green tell Piper Niven the wrong thing
at the wrong time, and then Piper Niven, you know,
she loses, her stuff comes down and the bams. She
wins the WWE Women's United States Championship, which is a possibility,
(15:42):
but Alexa Bliss I feel like, you know, deserves a
shot at the title. Big main event six man tag
team match. We have Damian Priest, Braunstrowman and the WWE
under Speeded Champion Cody Roads taking on the Young Bloodline,
the New Bloodline. You know, I feel like, this is it,
This is the last shot for Solo Sokoa to you know,
(16:03):
remain in power. I feel like he will lose, they
will lose this match. Solo, So will you know, kind
of be kicked out, not kicked out of the Young bloodline,
but he'll be shunned. Jacob Fatoo Tamatuka will not be happy.
They will not fall out, They will not you know,
kind of fall in in terms of their their rankings
inside you know, the bloodline. We have Naomi also taking
(16:26):
our Live Morgan. Naomi believes that Live Morgan is framing
her for the attack, and Jada Cargo Alistair Black might
be on SmackDown. Him and Russif's contract in ae W
has officially ended. They're done. They're free agents. They're ready
to sign basically with whomever, so they could show up
on SmackDown. Where is Randy Orton? Are we going to
have a WrestleMania without Randy organ If Randy Orten is
(16:49):
to have a match at WrestleMania, there has to be something,
you know, probably within the next two weeks, you know,
so we can start, you know, building up momentum toward
a rivalry. But at this point, being honest, I don't
really see anybody would be obviously any body that Randy
Orton steps into the ring with, it would be like
an instant classic. But at this point, I you know know,
(17:09):
you know, Kevin Owens was kind of like my, you
know my, maybe like maybe Sammy's a. At the unsanctioned match,
Kevin Owens wins. Obviously in ring of honor work, Kevin
Stein and El Generico fought in an unsanctioned match on
El Generico, Sammy's Ain got the win, so maybe it's
Kevin's turn. Kevin Owens wins this unsanctioned match completely destroy
Sammy's Ain and then and then Kevin Owens obviously, you know,
(17:32):
high on his horse. The next the following episode of
Monday Night Raw or SmackDown, Randy Orton comes out and
is like, I remember what you did to me. I'm
gonna do the same thing what you did the poor
Sammy's Ain, and maybe we'll get at Kevin Owens versus
Randy Orton during WrestleMania. But overall, might you know I
would doubt Samy's a missing WrestleMania. I would a thousand,
ten percent. I would The Rock the Final Boss announced
(17:54):
Thursday night on social media that he was gonna come
after a certain someone and f them up. I believe
this has a lot to do with the main event,
the six man tag team match. Like I was mentioned before,
Solo Soka for the last time will lose. The Rock
absolutely disgusted by Soloska leading the family into ultimate failure.
(18:15):
You know, the bloodline besides Roman Reigns has been you
know a little bit of lackluster. Roman Reigns obviously, you
know Jimmy Usso, Samy's Ain and Jay, you know Tamatunga.
You know, they don't look good. Jacob Fattou, he always
looks impressive, but you know he could be better. Soloico
at at this point in time, he just looks kind
of like a loser. So the Rock's gonna come in.
(18:36):
He's going to maybe potentially, you know, you're going to
see him come out with Solo Socoa, Jacob Fattoo and Tomatunga,
and then they attack Solosko at the end of the night,
and then w W SmackDown might go off the air
with them raising up the ones with potentially the final
boss Jacob Fatuo. Tomatunga would obviously be behind him, and
(19:00):
then this would start their feud with you know, Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns forced to ask for you know, help from
Jimmy Uso. They will be outmanned. Obviously, ja Uso is
growing up, is getting ready for his title bout at
WrestleMania against the World Heavyweight Champion Gunter, So they kind
of have to not rely on j Uso solo. Soakoba
(19:22):
maybe falls back in line potentially, you know, maybe he does,
you know, maybe Roman does forgive him. And I don't know,
but I've seen on social media that you know, against
a Zila fat two, he he you know, he said no,
what did he say? Damn it? But basically he kind
of gave like a little bit of Easter egg. And
(19:43):
then everybody's kind of wondering if he's going to be
on WWE Snackdown, maybe kind of be an enforcer that
the Rock brings in. But it's all up in the air.
You know. Jacob Fattoo and Zila Fattoo, obviously they were
a tag team champions in MLW. It would be amazing
to see them come back on Raw and ultimately it
would make the Bloodline look absolutely unstoppable and make them
(20:03):
look like top tier, main event caliber superstars. You know,
bringing the Rock rigging in Zila. It would be you know,
they would restore the you know, they were to restore
the honor of the bloodline, and they would be absolutely unstoppable.
They would take down Roman reigns. Everybody would just kind
of they would rule SmackDown and Raw obviously, but you
know what that happened, you know who knows. And that's
(20:25):
what we're gonna talk about next. In our second segment,
we have The Rock returning for wrestle Mania Season Possible storylines,
possible you know, breakdowns. Obviously, we're gonna talk about him
Aunt SmackDown tonight. Obviously SmackDown has not aired, or trying
to get this video out as soon as possible, so
you know, grab your favorite snack, grab your favoritehigh school bravage,
and join me here in about twenty five seconds. So hey,
(20:45):
do not go anywhere. I feel like I'm losing everybody
in the wild line.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Please don't give me us sig u sah. I feel
like I'm losing my everybody in the world.
Speaker 1 (21:09):

Speaker 3 (21:14):
I want to be the greatest everybody on the face shit,

every day and I'm in patient, hoping one day I
blow up from the basement, say man, the top is
so faking. I don't even ship that I think is amazing,
waiting for my day when I'm playing.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Sold that should for a thousand faces.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Hey give me that crown, keating my way in to
be put down, hit in your place? All this my sound.
If I want that ship that, I'll get it right now.
I'm losing it. The noose and fits the moosy shit
a stupid myth.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
You choose to live, a choose to deep, you choose
to fight and lose a grip and lose a gift.
All I feel like I'm losing my everybody wilde, please
give me us un.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
I feel like a musing man. Everybody world, Oh right,
I We are back with the GSMC Wrestling Laureate Podcast,
brought to you with the GSMC Sports Network. I'm your

GSMC Sports Network eight pm se Time eleven pm Eastern Time,
(22:20):

professional wrestling. We talk about all the action inside and
outside of the ring, backstage curtain calls, all the rumors,
all the drama. We talk about contract negotiations, consensions, and
new signings among superstars. We talked about promotions from the
gc W two Newtspan Professional Wrestling to WWE to ae
W two Ring of Honor to TNA. We talk about
(22:40):
it all here on this show. And remember to constantly,
you know, check on YouTube for updated videos. I upload
videos during the week. If you go ahead and Superman
punch that like a subscribe button, you will get some
notifications once some new content comes out. One thousand and
ten percent. Appreciate every single you know, every single eye
on this podcast. Appreciate you guys this time your attention.
(23:05):
So I just wonder, you know, let's just want to
see you happy. Just want to see you happy, all right,
without a doubt. Now we're gonna talk about The Rock
possible storylines on SmackDown, and we're you know, he's back.
He's back just in time for WrestleMania season. On Thursday night,
it was announced that The Rock will be making his
return to WWE. Obviously. The CEO of w W E
(23:28):
Triple H Paulovec, posted on social media and I quote
he said, strap in when the final Boss shows up
this time of year, the audience knows absolutely anything is possible.
Everything could change in an instant and that's true. You know,
when The Rock comes back to WWE, things change, things change,
and that's kind of like a right that he has.
(23:50):
He's obviously alumni. I guess you can say, uh, he's
what is the right word for it. Oh God, i'm's
gonna drive me crazy. He's like, he's like a legend.
That's not a legend yet He's like, you know, it's
like his birthright to be there. This was a game
of you know, I can't think of the word right now,
(24:12):
but but the Final Boss took the social media saying,
the Final Boss is coming to handle business, deliver a big,
beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans and and
obviously f up anybody, you know, the Certain Life. I
did not see that swear word right there. I apologize,
But anyways, he's going to try to attack a certain somebody,
(24:33):
you know. I you know, it's it'd be a huge
cop out to be like Cody Road it's Roman Reigns,
no problem. I feel like ww WE needs a little
bit more of a shock factor than that. You know,
The Rock could definitely be the savior of that WrestleMania
needs as of right now. You know the match card,
you know, we have good Through taking on Jus for
(24:54):
the World Heavyweight Championship. That's good, you know, that's like,
that's like a you know, I feel like because they
fought at WWE Saturday Night's main event, I feel like
maybe it's a little bit of like a you know,
B plus a minus kind of thing. We have Charlotte
Flair taking on Tiffany Stratton. I'd love Tiffany Stratton one
thousand and ten percent. I do like Charlotte Flair. I
(25:16):
would rather start Charlotte Arrea. I'm sorry, but at this
point we have you know, that match, and that's for me,
is like a B plus match as well. We're gonna
find out who's taken on Cody Roads in the elimination chamber.
But if The Rock automatically, if The Rock, you know,
decides to challenge Cody Rhoads or something like that, maybe
he tries to insert himself hijack WrestleMania once again. That
(25:39):
would be interesting. That would be damn interesting. But overall,
I feel like The Rock is definitely something that WrestleMania
needs a thousand and ten percent. So let's go to
talk possible storylines here. I definitely think there's a. You
know he gets he could definitely be trying to target
Solo so Cola. Like I mentioned during my SmackDown preview,
I feel like this is the last match that Solo
(25:59):
so whose is Jacob Fattoo. Tamatunga does not want to
fall out under the under the Tribal Chief self proclaimed
tribal chief anymore. Soloska will lose his crew, The Rock
will come out, and I feel like they would. I
feel like they screw them up. They would definitely what
is it? What did the social media f them up?
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Man?
Speaker 1 (26:18):
So you know, I feel like that's a huge storyline
that could work, and you know that would obviously turn
a lot of attention, including the Roman Reigns his head
being like, all right, the Rock is here, not obviously
he's coming after one thing. He's coming after the Ula
Falla and as soon as it gets done with this
family business, I feel like that's maybe the one he
will target Cody Roads. But at this point anything's kind
(26:39):
of up in the air. I feel like we could
possibly see The Rock lead Tamatunga and Jacob Fattoo to
take on Roman Reigns in a six man tag team
match at Wrestlemanio Solo Cicoa was forced to fall out
under Roman reigns beg for his apology, and of course
you have Jimmy Usso on SmackDown not really doing anything,
(26:59):
not really any plans for WrestleMania. So this would be
a huge six man tag team match that would turn
a lot of heads. Obviously, this would be huge for uh,
you know, who's going to be the next tribal chief
or you know, there's been speculations that The Rock is
just basically going to SmackDown tonight to like kind of
kind of represent his superstar status in Hollywood. He this year,
(27:20):
I believe he had a bunch of movies come out
and now he has one where like he's an Italian
mafia boss or something like that, directed by Marty Martin Scorsese.
And then there was Red One during Christmas, there was
Mowana two, and there was that one when he he
was a boxer. I'm not I don't remember the name
of that movie, but he is all over the place
right now, so you know, just kind of represent you know,
(27:41):
his superstar status in Hollywood is ideal. Also, there's been
a backstage rumor that he's coming to. You know, reports
have emerged that Ava, the general manager of WWV n XT,
you know, The Rock's daughter in real life, what's set
up for something of a something of a push, you know.
Can I see her inside the ring? I think she
(28:01):
I think she could do it. She looked, you know,
she looks like she's she looks strong, you know, kind
of around you, like a RICL. Rodriguez kind of thing. Dominant,
obviously a student of the game. Her dad's The Rock,
so obviously she's been around the road of wrestling her
whole entire life. But right now as general manager on NXC,
she's doing a stand up job. She's doing great. I
would kind of I want to like her, you know,
(28:22):
kind of being ah, my daughter's gonna come Russell and
cook everyone's ass and win every title in WWE. You know,
I like Eva in that authoritatid figure on NXTY even
want to see that go anywhere. And she has her
hands full right now, so I doubt anything's going to
you know, kind of confruition in terms of that. Or
we also have The Rock maybe tonight on SmackDown, maybe
(28:44):
announcing that he'll be an elimination chamber maybe instead of
two guys starting out, we have three that would be
absolutely huge, or maybe he could potentially take out somebody
like Damian Priest. You know, we can beat the holy
hell out of him to the point where Nick all,
this is forced with the hard decision of you know
who am I gonna pick to you know represent you
(29:04):
know who to take Damian Priest's spot inside the elimination chamber.
You know, so then he's gonna have a last triple
threat match, or he's gonna have a Battle Royal, and
then the Rock is gonna win it and wind up
in the elimination chamber. That could definitely happen as well,
and thus you would see the Rock win elimination chamber
having him take on Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania forty one.
(29:27):
Because as of right now, Roman Reigns, Seampunk anset Thralins
are rumored to have a triple threat bout at WrestleMania.
I would love to see that as opposed to a
forced you know, travel combat, Matt. I know, they do
have about eight seven weeks to kind of set this up,
and ww we could do it if they want to
do it. They forced it. They moved up the Solo Socoba,
(29:48):
Roman Reigns feued for the Ulafalla up to of the
premiere and Monday Night Raw on Netflix, so you know,
kind of you know, aggressive booking. You know, they would
both have to be on SmackDown and Raw, though I
feel like they would have to, you know, having them
just appear on one show, I feel like might kind of,
you know, create a little bit of a you know,
kind of a blotchy, a little bit of a you know,
(30:08):
a lackluster storyline. But it could happen. It could happen.
You know, Damian Priest as well. You know, if they
do not go with the angle that you know, maybe
you know, he doesn't beat the hell out of Damian
Priest to take his spot. It's been rumored, like I
said before, Drew McIntyre taking on Damian Priest at WrestleMania
because although everything that happened at the Word Rumble and
the last last Last conspiracy theory, the reason why he's
(30:29):
coming to SmackDown obviously this is kind of up in
the air, but I read it on I think it
was wrestling. I'm not too sure, but you know, he
could be coming to basically come face to face and
confront Triple H. Paul Avec, the CEO of w w EE,
that so far at WrestleMania, the bookings, it's been bad.
Maybe he comes back as the you know, as the
authority Rock, you know, like he did when he you know,
(30:51):
during the Netflix preview premiere on Monday Night Raw, and
he basically did nothing, And I felt like it kind
of ultimately feel like it hurt Wwan. I felt like
it hurt a lot of potential potential storylines that you
could have stemmed from that. If he saw the Rock
takeout Roman Reigns, if he saw him beat the hell
out of Cody Roads like, but instead he was you know,
(31:12):
you were showing chugging beers backstage with Cody Rhoads. He
gave Roman Reigns a hug, presented him with you Lafalla.
You know that in itself could obviously lay down some
you know, potential like Easter eggs and maybe be a
part of a plot or a storyline for that matter.
But you know, maybe some ways down the line, him
in Triple H. Obviously, I would never I don't think
(31:34):
I can see Triple H lace up his boots again,
especially you know, after that scare with his heart and everything,
maybe both, you know, I read that maybe potentially they
could each choose a superstar to represent them, perhaps or
they put a team together to take on each other,
which would be I wouldn't I would think that would
be terrible. But you know, definitely resourcing, definitely researching absolutely
(31:58):
any and all storylines that we can see with the
Rock heading up toward WrestleMania. So you know, make sure
you gots tune into SmackDown tonight. It should be a
good one one thousand and ten percent and the final
Boss will be there to quote unquote f a certain
someone's life up. All right, I so I do not
go anywhere. We're gonna talk about some WWE NXT. So
(32:18):
grab your favorite snack, grab your favoritehigh school beverage. You
join me here in about twenty seconds, So do not
go anywhere.

We are back with the GSMC Wrestling The Laureate Podcast
brought to you to the GSMC Sports Network. I'm your
favorite wrestling fan here, Eric Rodriguez, every Monday through Friday,
uploading content every Monday night. I am live on the
GSMC Sports Network eight pm Sem Time. I love a
pm Eastern Time. We talk about everything under the sun
in terms of professional wrestling. We talk about all the
(33:51):
action in siding, outside the ring, backstage curtain calls, all
the rumors, all the drama. We talk about a contract negotiations,
extensions and news signings a superstars. We talk about promotions
from wrestling well from WWE two, ae W two, the
gc W two, Negman Professional Wrestling. We talk about it
all here on this show. If it makes major news
in the world of w WE, ae W basically anywhere
(34:15):
in the world of professional wrestling, whether it's you know,
start on TNA Ring of Honor. We talk about here
on this show one thousand and ten percent. So make
sure you guys Superman punched that like and subscribe button
to the show. All right, So, without further ado, we
have WWE n x T. So obviously this was a
fallout of all the action that happened Vengines Day, and
(34:35):
it was a good payer view. It wasn't too bad.
Oba Feming comes out the moment he does says that,
you know, they didn't finish the job, obviously, kind of
proclaiming to the people that attacked him, Dion Lennox's crew.
Is it Vengeance Day? Is that the name of the crew?
I feel like that would kind of that be kind
of you know, stupid, but you know what, it could
It could work, I guess. So he came out, you know,
(34:58):
basically telling them to show their face and you didn't
get the job done, so come and finish me off.
Come and finish me off. The w w E NXT
World Heavyweight Champion was caught by Surprise where you finally, finally, finally,
I've been waiting for Moves to cross that line to NXT.
It was kind of cool to see him do. So
the X Division Champion shows up. Obviously, this kind of
(35:20):
bounces back on what you saw on NXT Vegance Day
backstage where you saw Santino Morella and Ava you know, talking,
and you know, I definitely I want this to I
want this to be more of a more of an occurrence.
I want this to be more of kind of like
a Ring of Honor ae W Dynamite kind of thing
(35:42):
where you see a lot of people from Ring of
Honor compete on dynamite collision and rampage. That's what I
want to see. I feel like that would be so
amazing for both of these, both of these promotion. This
cross promotional thing is you know, it could be completely
insanely badass. Obviously, I feel like they are kind of
holding back to be like, you know, you've gotta save
(36:03):
some storylines for you know, you can't just all unload
everything on there. You know, that's just me being a
wrestling fan, having that fandom kind of being like, oh,
I just want to see it all real quick, you know,
but yeah, Moose, obviously he says this has to happen,
and then Oba femin says, don't worry, it will. It'd
be so crazy to see the Exhibision champion taking on
(36:24):
the NFC champion. Triple threat match time, we got Jada Parker,
Kamen Petrovitch, and Kailanie Jordan with the help of Ashanti
the Adonis. He saw Carmen Petrovitch pick up the victory
of such a shock. Such a shock. But now we're
gonna ultimately see this whole storyline between Jada Parker and
Kaylanie Jordan kind of coming for riching here, what's the
(36:45):
next roadblock? So maybe they can't fight at roadblock, Maybe
you know, be kind of cool to kind of see
a different version of Kielannie Jordan come alive and you know,
much like you saw Jada Parker take on Lolavice in
that street fight, maybe you see kay Lottie Jordan kind
of you know, well, what was spider what was the
Spider Man three where it was damn it Spider Man three,
(37:09):
the one that told me maguire where you know he
found the the Venom suit and you know it just
changed him, It changed him into somebody that he uh
that he was a little bit ruder he was. It
was kind of cool, you know, so maybe Kylinie Jordan
could kind of be going toward that ultimate storyline and
is w W E stealing plot twist from Spider Man
(37:30):
three who told me McGuire maybe I'm just getting to know,
but uh, I feel like that'd be cool. You know
Kaylinie Jordan, you know, she she becomes a heel. She
does healish things where she cheats to win, you know,
brass knuckles exposed, his turnbuckles, uses the ropes for for leverage,
you know, in a in a submission move where she
won't you know, unleash the lock until the referee absolutely
(37:50):
one thousand and ten percent after the count of five,
has to force her to do. So, all these helish
things that she could possibly do back mouth the fans.
You know, she's not that sweetheart anymore. I would love
to see that, and you know, her taking on Jada
Parker would be pretty tea pretty bad ass. So once
with Karmen Petrovitch picks up the victory, you know, Parker
(38:11):
and Jada and Parker and Jordan, they go off to
the concourse and they fight, and the Fatal Influence come
out to attack the number one contender, Karmen Petrovitch, and
you know, during the whole commercial break there, I thought
it was wild. I thought it was wild. I have
how you're you know, you saw Karmen Petrovitch getting her
ass kicked during a Chick fil A commercial and I
(38:32):
was like, are they gonna let this go on? This
whole entire commercial And once when the commercial was over,
finally somebody comes out to help her out. It was
a couple of commercials later, but somebody did come out.
First you saw the NXC Women's Champion Julia. Then you
saw Stephanie Vecare finally come out and they were still
kind of getting beat down, and then Jordan Grace comes
(38:52):
out ultimately to pay dividends and the show Fatal Influence, Hey,
let's have a six women tag team match in the
main event, and yeah, it was. It was made. We
got Jakar Jackson and Last Legend of Metaphor taking on
Zaria and sol Ruka. This was a good match. You know,
I definitely, definitely definitely do respect Last Legend and Jakar
Jackson in that woman's tag team division. I feel like
(39:15):
they'd be, you know, since they actually they actually are
tag team wrestlers. And I'm not trying to hate on Bianca,
Naomi and Jade, but right now, the tag the women's
division on SmackDown and on Raw, you know, to kind
of help create a little bit of you know, a
little bit of prestige in that woman's mid card title.
You need those three girls. You need those three girls
(39:37):
one ten percent. And now you know, I'm not trying
to downgrade the value of the Women's World Tag Team
Championships because I feel like it is ultimately for tag
team individuals. But you know, Zaria so Ruka also have
cemented their name by defeating the Meta Girls tonight well
on NXT, and it was a good bout. I was
happy it wasn't a smash match. I did not want
(39:59):
that to happened. I felt like that would have overall
devalued Jackson and legend, So I was happy that didn't. Really,
that didn't happen. So we get the Ricky Starks contract signing.
Obviously it's not Ricky Starks anymore. Ricky Saints. I buy it.
It's cool, but when he's on the MIC, I gotta
be honest AEW once again, you know, kind of waste
(40:19):
the young talent. I you know, I went back and
I watched some Ricky Starks highlights on AEW and he
was great. He was great. He definitely could have been
a young rising star, you know, unlocked in the world
of professional wrestling. You know, like I mentioned before, it
kind of reminds me of like a young you know,
the Rock. He has that, you know, he has that
in factor to him. He dresses you know that what
(40:41):
is it during the Attitude or no, was it during
the Attitude where it was like the Rocks seven hundred
dollar shirt or something like that. You know, he kind
of kind of seems like that, and he has a
he's he has a way of creating storylines and plots
just by the way he talks on a microphone cutting promo.
So I definitely like this Ethan Page coming out John Evans.
(41:05):
So we're gonna get a tag team match next week
Wes Lee as well, coming out to confront Saints. It's
gonna take some getting used to. I'm probably gonna call
him Ricky Starks a couple of times. I'm just being
really honest. But it was good. It was cool, it
was awesome. It was definitely what NXT needed. It's something
that Ricky Saints needed and he's gonna do wonders. In NXT,
(41:25):
we had the no Quarter catch, Crew Mile was born
and Tabion Heights call out the TNA World Tag Team titles.
Matt and Jeff Hardy. They're gonna fight next week, so,
you know, the Hardy Boys back in w W A.
I think that's kind of cool. Do I want to
see them on SmackDown a Raw? Not really, But now
we're kind of building up toward like NXT and TNA
(41:47):
constantly having cross promotional matches trying to prove that you know, No,
I don't think they're trying to prove which shows the
better show. So, you know, maybe kind of comparing it
to the early ro versus SmackDown, you know, in the
early two thousands might be a little bit of a
little bit too much of a push because I would
not really want to see you know, teen A Superstars,
(42:08):
you know, top crap on NXC, and I wouldn't want
to see NXC Superstars to trash you know, TNA as
a promotion. I feel like that would be you know,
I don't think that would be a great storyline to
kind of have that, but kind of having it like
the two shows Ron SmackDown where you kind of see,
you know, like where you see Roman Rains come on
Ron SmackDown, you know, to kind of represent the you know,
when he was the undisputed champion. You know, it was great,
(42:30):
it was good, it was perfect. So I want, you know,
definitely want to see more of that. Obviously falling into
that same regime, I guess you can say would be
pretty badass. Sean Spears defeat Stacks obviously kind of knew
that was going to happen. Moose and Lexus King obviously
talking backstage. Alexis King is going to get a shot
(42:51):
at the X Division Championship next week. Andre Chase taking
out Eddie Thorpe. Eddie Thorpe keeps building up momentum Andre Chase,
you know, it looked like a chase you re boot
with those two guys. You know, kind of sucks. I
thought it was terrible. Andre Chase needs a direction to
kind of go into because right now it seems like
he is heading toward a release and it sucks, but
(43:11):
it is what it is. Trick Williams obviously announcing that
he still has a slate. He still has you know
something against Eddie Thorp and their feud is not yet finished.
In the main event, we saw fatal influence to get
dominated by Jordan Grays, Julia and Stephanie Vaquier. Jordan Grays
was able to pick up the wind pinning Jasmine Nicks.
It was it was a good show. It was a
(43:32):
you know, definitely love it one thousand percent. Now we're
gonna start building up momentum toward the NXT roadblock. All right,
so hey, do not go anywhere. We have another recap,
we have another review. We have some more reactions by
your wrestling Lauri. Yet we have aw Dynamite, so grab
your favorite snack rapyr Favdite. Ice colle Beverage joined me
here in about twenty seconds, so hey, do not go anywhere.

Constantly uploading. We'll try to upload as much content as
I possibly can about professional wrestling. So make sure you
(44:56):
guys superman punch that like a subscribe button to the
show to get modifications about more and new content. Obviously,
we talk about all the action inside of the ring,
outside of the ring, backstage curtain calls, all the rumors,
all the drama. We talk about contract negotiations, extensions amongst superstars.
We talk about promotions from WWETAW to Ring of on
(45:18):
our TNA New Gymro Professional Wrestling GCW, Death Life Professional
Wrestling MLW. We make sure we cover all wrestling and
if it makes major news, we're gonna cover. We're gonna
talk about it. We're gonna debate, We're gonna come up
with some awesome fandom conspiracy theories. We're gonna come up
with some cool storylines. Obviously, that's what we do in wrestling.
This wrestling fans right there, Wrestling fans United, right there, Bam.
(45:40):
We should make a YouTube page and Instagram page. We
should start our own wrestling Twitter. I'm just getting know
that'd be pretty interesting, though, I gotta be honest, so,
you know, without further ado and jump on into our
next segment, we got aw Dynamite recap MJF Hangman Adam Page.
This much anticipated rivalry is finally, finally finally happened. You know,
(46:02):
MJF talking about how, you know, Hangman at a Page
cheap shot at him, and that it seems like he's
always the good guy, you know, Hangmad Adam Page. I
can definitely see that, you know, is he turning face? Yes,
I do believe that MJF. Right now, he's the top heel.
Anybody that faces and seems like it's you know, they're
just gonna come out as a baby face right off
(46:23):
the bat. But this feud could definitely help propel ae
W and help it kind of stay balanced up until
you know, because as of right now, and I'm not
trying to crap on ae W, but the main storyline
is what's happening with the Death Writers, you know, with Cope,
switchblay j Why and those are yes, those are the
(46:45):
superstars of ae W, so then they should have the
show ultimately tailored around them. But it's si a part
where you kind of have to have some new kind
of to have a little bit of a new taste.
And you know, if this MJF and a hangnad Adam
Page rivalry is, you know, if it's done really correct,
heading up to aw All in Texas, you know, we
(47:06):
could definitely see after all in maybe a revamped or
rejuvenated aw audience going to more shows, buying them more tickets,
you know, purchasing merchandise, you know, because you know, AEW
seems like you kind of lost its groove a little bit.
You have superstars quitting left and right, leaving left and right,
and that sucks. It sucks because those are great wrestlers,
(47:29):
like you know, Miro Alistair Black, Ricky Starks, back to
seem Punk, Cody Roads, Jade Cargole. There's a you know,
a bunch of talent that AEW. If you would have
pledged your cards right ultimately probably would have kept that.
But you know, I feel like, you know, you have
two of the top faces in ae W. Just I
feel like this needs to happen, This really needs to happen,
(47:52):
This needs to be done super super you know, super
super Well, it was an absolute bombshell of a promo.
I thought it was a you know, pretty awesome like
we are in for one for one fun ride. M
J sorry, excuse me, mjf obviously phenomenal on what he
does a spit in the face of Hangman and we're
making Hangman more of a more of a baby faced
(48:12):
Christopher Daniels comes out, tries to talk some sense, seemingly
talks some sense into Hangman at a page. So, you know,
Christopher Daniels unlocked the baby face of of at a page.
So I'm just kidding. Moving on, so we have the
Patriarchy losing another match against the hook Samova, Joe Kat
Sirii Shabata, the Ops. I'm not too sure how I
(48:35):
feel about that, you know, but they do, you know,
they pull it off pretty freaking well, you know, the Ops.
But the Patriarchy, man, you do see Christian Cage walking
around with that, you know, with that clipboard. Are they
to the point where it's a little un you know,
irrelevant in ae W, I feel like maybe they do.
I feel like they get more attention to Ring of
(48:56):
Honor definitely Collision for sure. But on Dynamite, you know,
something that's the top tiers show, kind of like the
Monday Night Raw of WWE. You know, AW Dynamite on
Wednesday nights has always kind of been in a wrestling
fans like dream, you know, to have wrestling on Wednesday,
because for the longest time it was just Monday Night Raw,
Friday Night SmackDown, nothing really in between. Well obviously you know,
(49:19):
impact and all that, but you know, out of the
top you know, quote unquote the top tier wrestling methods
you know that would do that. The aw has definitely
put wrestling on the map on Wednesdays. So I feel
like AW Dynamite is kind of like their Stars show.
The Patriarchy just continued to lose, lose, lose, lose, lose.
I don't think Christian Cage at this point. I feel
(49:40):
like everything that was prestigious about him is ultimately kind
of demoted. And I'm not trying to be mean. I
do like Christian Cage. I respect him, obviously, he was
amazing in WWE. Wait a minute to aew he had
a pretty good singles run. But you know, at time
is the time is now. The time is now cashing
that contract. You know, I want to see Chris Cage
(50:00):
be thew World Heavyweight Champion going into AW all in.
Maybe by that time you kind of have a you know,
Darby Alley come back, come back and challenge Christian Cage,
because right now you don't have to have the title
on John Moxley to have some attention around the death Riders.
So you know, I I need to you know, with
the title. In the briefcase, it feels like he doesn't
(50:22):
really care that much about it anyways, Well he does
because you know he shed blood, sweat and tears and
all that kind of stuff. You know, he put AW
on the map, So in that case, I you know
he does care about being a champion. But being brutally honest,
you know, you could have a show around John Moxley
where you can have the main event without him holding
(50:42):
the title, but then you don't want to diminish the
AW World Heavyweight Championship. But if you have Christian Cage
somehow randomly win it, obviously at the end of a revolution,
you have you know, Cope and John Moxley beat the
holy hell out of each other and then incomes slithering
in his Christian Cage and then his his former tag
(51:05):
team partner and best friend, Adam Copeland is forced to
watch Christian Cage win the aw Rowling Heavyweight Championship. That
would be kind of cool because the last time he
saw these two compete was that I quit match for
the TVs Championship. No, TNT, sorry TBS. That would have
been weird, but no, it was a you know, I
feel like there needs to be a different direction. You know,
(51:26):
Christian Cage, he's not he doesn't you know, he's not
it anymore. He's not main event caliber status in my
opinion a thousand and ten percent. So I but I
feel like this needs to happen. Powerhouse Hobbs takes down,
you know, Big Bill of the Learning Tree. Definitely love
that Tony Storm comes out and calls out the aw
you know women's division as well. Also, you know, kind
(51:48):
of talking about Mariah May, so you know, having her
be the women's champion. I gotta be honest, I like it.
I feel like it's I do love the way that
Mariah May represented that Championship. But there's something different about
Tony Storm, you know, and I feel like she has
more you know, more PiZZ not pizzazz or something right word, more,
you know, her title runner. Whenever she comes out and
(52:08):
talks on them on the mic, it's kind of like
it's more popping and stuff like that. And right now
she's kind of viewed as a babyface. So now there's
a whole bunch of there's an array of superstars that
will challenge Tony Storm. Hopefully helped this AEW women's division
because they deserve a you know, they deserve some good attention.
Marina Shaffier obviously still beating the hell out of Willow
of Nightingale. I want to see Willow back into you know,
(52:33):
TVs championship caliber match. I would love to see that.
Death Riders obviously still causing havoc doing what they do.
You had a Cope and Switchblade J White once again
try to run them out of town. You know, I
feel like overall Adam Copeland, switchbla A. J. White, they
want to put an end to the Death Riders, and
(52:55):
it's at this point with ae W you know, you
have you know, I feel like storylines kind of Fall
a little bit too easy. Obviously, everything with the whole
the elite thing with Matt Matt, you know, Nicholas and
Matthew Jackson with coasch Chako Kata with Jack Perry who
you know at this point seems irrelevant and Okata only
(53:17):
comes out to defend his Continental championship once in a
while and drops a couple of be bombs on Dynamite
here and there. So you know, something that the death
writers are doing right is they're staying consistent. So that's
definitely something you gotta throw a little bit of, and
you gotta throw some credit there. Momo of Stardom wants
to face Mercedes Monett for her TBS championship at Revolution
(53:39):
at Crypto dot Com Arena. So I'm excited for that. Maybe,
you know, but if I get my taxes in time,
you know, maybe I might go to that show. That
would be pretty bad ass. I live in southern California,
so why not let's just do it. Chris Sattlander takes
on Megan Bain Penelope before it obviously comes out to
you know, help Bane defeat stat Lander. Thunder Rosa comes
(53:59):
out with the and I gotta be honest, She just
looked a little lost out there, didn't really seem like
she had a purpose. You know, she had the chair
and you know, you look at you know, Ford, you
look at Bain, They're not even moved or riveted from
the thought of Thunderosa throwing that steel chair at him.
I didn't really understand that. And you know, I thought
(54:21):
when Thunderosa would come back, you know, to to aew Dynamite,
I really thought it was gonna be more of like
a It's like, oh damn, this girl is back in action.
This girl's going to tear off some faces, win some championships,
and she's going to look absolutely amazing in the process.
Didn't really get that vibe. Didn't really get that vibe.
(54:44):
You know, maybe you know some you know, the storyline
will go on and maybe sometime down the line, maybe
on Collision or Rampage, maybe she might maybe you know,
perception might be different. But I thought that was bad,
that booking, or that you know, that promo was that
the promo was pretty bad. We're probably looking for a
(55:04):
tag team match with her and stat Lander taking off
Ford and Bane at Revolution, but you know, I want
to see thunder Russa back in that title picture. This
obviously did not help whatsoever. Ricochet comes out, you know,
talking about how he wants to be much like Kevin Durant,
and he told the Phoenix Arizona audience that he wanted
to leave. He said, he wants to you know, he
(55:25):
came to aw to win gold. Prince Nanda comes out,
three decades in the business, missing his robe that Ricochet
stole Ricochet. You know, lookshim Den the eye. He's like, yeah,
you can have it. You have to take it from me.
And then obviously Prince Nanna he's like, are you gonna cry?
I thought that was kind of stupid, you know, kind
of like elementary school like status, like you know, roastin
(55:49):
I guess you could say that's what the kids say nowadays, roasting.
You know, we're trying to antagonize him, you know, trying
to create that promo. You know that was it was
it was mid it was mid but uh, there we
go with the with the nowadays kids terms right there.
I'm getting good, guys, I'm getting good. Roderick Strong loses
against Orange Cassidy. It was kind of cool to see
(56:10):
Jim Ross on the call on the main event. Freshly
Squeezed is back in the win. Call him he's back
at night EW, and I can't wait to see him
maybe potentially win another AEW International Championship. That'd be pretty cool,
first time three time winner. I guess I thought, I
think that's what they said, but but yeah, aw Dynamite,
it was, it was, it was okay, it was Okay.
(56:30):
WWE's newest NXT faction comes and we're going to talk
about the future bookings to avoid storylines that might be
able to put over these young superstars. We're gonna talk
about that when we come back. So grab your favorite snack,
grab your favoritehigh school beverage. You joined me here in
about twenty seconds, so hey, do not go anywhere.
Speaker 5 (57:06):
S s.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
Sh, and we are back.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
Excuse me. I knew that cough was coming, so I
was kind of waiting until it stopped or was gonna start.
But of course it starts as soon as I opened
up my big fat mouth. Uh. Thank you for tuning
into the GSMC Wrestling Laureate podcast. We just talked about
some a EW Dynamite NXT review. I gave you guys
my thoughts about the Rocks potential storylines on SmackDown. We
(58:37):
also talked about US we previewed SmackDown in itself, so
make sure you guys check out those videos on YouTube
one thousand and ten percent. So yeah, without further ado,
let's talk about NXC newest faction. On NXC Vengeance Day
after the Oba Femine Retain and the Axiom Phraxium sorry
excuse me, retained, you saw a group of me Ask
(59:00):
Men come out and attack all three superstars. You know,
we've seen a number of faction in w W. You know,
you've seen Degeneration X, Starhart Foundation, the Bloodline, the Shield.
NXC has been teasing this mystery faction for quite some time,
and like I said, on Saturday, they showed up for
Masked Men and you know, obviously trying to cement them
(59:25):
coming to well not coming to but you know, re
establishing their name. They want to challenge for the NXC
World Tag Team Championships, They want to challenge ob Feman.
They want to rule all of NXT. So that storyline
is basically all they have right now. That's basically all
(59:45):
they have right now NXT. You know, they want to
they want to establish you know, something something new, a
little bit of a you know, like an edgier kind
of thing. Obviously, you know, you don't want to wind
up like Retribution, which I feel like they I feel
like they'll avoid it. But you know, last you know,
(01:00:07):
on the last episode of NXT, you know, you kind
of saw it going off air where you saw a
beating broken locker room. You saw Stone tooking out spray
painting on the wall saying nobody is safe. The fore
mask command have been unveiled. We got Cutler, James, Dion Lennox, O,
Cyrus Griffin, and Saquon Sugars. You know, w w E
social media has remained optimistic, but most have compared the
(01:00:28):
group to Nexus Retribution and the Shield. You know, we've
we've seen a bunch of you know twitter at reactions,
you know, people saying, hey, are we honestly really doing
this again? These talents have you know, been barely seen
on w w E NXC television. So why should we care?
Why should we care about these four men who you know,
(01:00:51):
last time we saw Dion Lennox was you know, he
used to tag team with the Shati Diodonnas and then
he was that's uh that you know, smart, cute, insitive guy.
That sensitive friend you know to Karmraende Petrovitch, and now
he's coming into lead a group that's going to quote
unquote kick everyone's ass. It's a little you know, it's
a little it's a little far fetched, a clear sign
(01:01:13):
of NXT trying to build up a new talent in
the men's division. And you can't really hate what they're
trying to do here. You got four young rising stars,
you know, why not try to create something that could
be possibly special, you know, you know, knocking it in
the dirt right off the bat seems a little grim.
I just feel like based on what happened with Retribution,
(01:01:34):
with you know, Nexus and stuff like that, you know,
it doesn't really seem like you know, the Numbers game,
the Numbers game. You know, they you know you've seen
the Bloodline do success with it, but you know it's
it's the Bloodline. You know, You've had Jimmy and j
luson an established tag team. You had you know, Solo Sakova,
you know, young rising star obviously didn't really you know,
(01:01:56):
comeing fruish in that way, and you had Roman Reigns.
These four men they're you know, the rookies trying to
make it up to the top, and you know, you
think about them challenging, know, Bufenming for that NXT championship.
You know, you don't really get that it's given that
there's still a lot of time. You know, I feel
like maybe they'll get a championship match at Roadblock, but
(01:02:18):
having somebody The greatest thing that I love about NXT
is the competition. I love the fact that, you know,
there's a lot of different storylines, there's a lot of
different competition, a lot of different personas, and now you
have these four mass men that just want to come
around and cause Ruckus to absolutely and absolutely anyone. So
I for for me, I you know, I don't I
(01:02:39):
don't really buy it. You know, it's not really a
product that I would really necessarily kind of want to
see these four men in. But like I said, it's
something you know, maybe it got down to them, you know,
their contracts being you know, renegotiated. They're like, all right,
but we need to think about something, you know fast,
We need to see if something picks up off the ground,
and you know, you guys are going to come in
(01:03:00):
basically like a retribution two point zero, which they kind
of have been seen you know, and you know, even
during the even when they came in, you know, it
just didn't really see like, I don't know, you had
the NXC fans chanting, who are you? That was pretty bad.
The women's division obviously outshines the men's. You know, it
looks a little silly and a little bit of dole.
(01:03:22):
And you know, even during the you know, even during
the beat done, he saw one of the guys pulled
their mask up over their face, seeming like they don't
really know what to do or how to you know,
you know, I don't know. For me, I thought that
was it. I saw that too, and I was like, man,
that looks a little silly, looks you know, and we
don't want to see that. Retribution role obviously must off
(01:03:42):
all these group mace, you know. He then moved to
the MXN collection. Slapjack the guy moved to New Jaman
Professional Wrestling. T Bar was Die Jack, Reckoning was me Chin,
Retaliation was Mercedes Martinez, who eventually made it to Ring
of Honor. Retribution. Honest, it just wasn't really a good call,
you know, doing things like this, it's it's just silly,
(01:04:06):
It's just very silly. It's constantly ever since their debut,
they consistently be they be getting negative reactions from critics, fans,
and industry figures. Adam Silverstein of CBS Sports kind of
kind of kind of named it in the nutshell here.
He said this, and I quote once when Retribution was there,
they kind of seemed like a bunch of pissed off
(01:04:27):
teenagers causing trouble after school and and it is kind
of right, that's kind of exactly the way you saw
these group of guys come in like that, like you know,
I you know, Mustaf Ali, Deon Lennox, you know, guys
that want to be somebody, that want to be you know,
that want to be better then the rest, that want
(01:04:49):
to establish themselves as main eventors, that want to be
they want to make it in wrestling. And you can't
really fault him for that, but so far it's been
put in a huge negative light. For them to kind
of be successful, I feel like they have to avoid,
you know, what Retribution did wrong, you know, constantly, you know,
like like Silverstein said, act like a bunch of teenagers
(01:05:10):
and beat people up after school. And they were very
consistent with their promos and overall, every single time they
fought in the match, they lost, They lost. They weren't
really that great. It was kind of it was, you know,
it was terrible before it. You know it ultimately, you know,
kind of set off and you know, retribution obviously came
in with a lot of them mets them. I kind
(01:05:31):
of did have high hopes about it. You know, I
love Mustafa Ali. You know, these big, bad and you know,
intimidating guys. You know, they want to constantly recreate what
the Shield did with Dean Ambrose, seth Rawlins and Roman Reigns,
but three very special superstars, three very special superstars who
are to this day absolutely heavyweight main event guys. You know,
(01:05:53):
Roman Reigns was the you know, one of the longest
ranging un just beate the Championship Rain seth Rawlins has
done everything under the Son in terms of accomplishments. Dean
Ambrose did, He did some things that WWE mostly established
himself in aw where he's kicking asses. John Moxley, I,
you know, like I said, for these guys, you know,
(01:06:13):
for them to have a purpose in NXT, for them
not constantly checking their phones, receiving text messages or voicemails,
saying that their contracts aren't going to be rdoed saying
that they're going to be released from WWE. So in
that case, I definitely get it. But WWE has to
absolutely one thousand to ten percent they have to be
(01:06:36):
careful with some of the bookings that they're gonna have
with some potential storylines, the picking and the choosing of
opponents that they decide to go after and going after
big fish like Oba Feming the NXC World Heavyweight Champion
going after NXC Tag Team Champions Phraxium. For me, I
feel like that was really a good end. I get
it that it popped out and you know, you know,
(01:06:58):
the moment they attacked the champs, they get immediate attention,
but I don't know, I feel like you kind of
have to ease on into it. You you know, the
promos were you know, them just in you know, you
know it was it was in black. You didn't really
know who it was, so you were kind of like
guessing who could be, who could be? And the moment
I kind of saw Ricky Starks's debut in NXC, I
(01:07:20):
was kind of like, ah, you know what, I kind
of ultimately thought it was going to be, uh, you know,
maybe Ricky Starks coming in with this new badass group
where he you know, where he is the you know,
kind of like the bloodline leader, and you know they
start kicking ass on NXC. I feel like maybe that
storyline could have worked. I definitely a thousand of type percent.
I don't just want to see these guys on NXC.
(01:07:40):
I want to see these guys on TNA. TNA and
NXC really honestly have to work together to make this
group amazing. If that's exactly what they're trying to do.
You know, they have to go after the world the
teenage World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry. I would love to
see because obviously Joe Hendry, big baby face figure in
(01:08:02):
the world of total NonStop action, seeing him, seeing them
come on impact to you know, kind of take down
that champion there, it'd be big. It'd be very very big. Also,
maybe you know they see them size up against the
System taking on a moose. But then again, you don't,
well the moose, well not the moose. The system has
been around for quite some time. You know, they have
(01:08:22):
prestigious and them the prestigious accomplishments and accolades, you know,
for themselves but for this, I feel like for this
faction to be good, you know, you can't rush it.
Can't rush it. Don't put them up against big fish
that they can't fry. Definitely, you know, eased on into it,
(01:08:42):
having them, you know at the end of NXT, right
spray painting on the wall, but no one is safe.
You know, kind of kind of could come on a
little strong there, you know, kind of like a you know,
kind of like a guy trying to hit on a
girl of oar or vice versa, you know, where they
kind of just like come and don't you're so pretty?
I'm just getting just kidding, but just coming out too strong,
(01:09:04):
I guess you can say coming out too strong. They
need to stay consistent. They need to win match after
match after match. If they win by cheating, I'm not
too sure. But something that The Shield did when they
debuted on WWE is that, you know, there was times
where maybe you would get one them one on one,
but they mostly kind of fight as a trio. They'd
be you know, they'd be at three men, you know,
(01:09:24):
get three guys to take us on, and then we'll
take you guys on. And that's how they slowly but
surely kind of became big names in w w E.
Four guys, are you gonna get like four on four
matches from now on on NXT. Doubt that's gonna happen.
You're gonna get the you know, you're gonna get that
classic bloodline, you know, Blueprint. You have the main event guy,
(01:09:47):
you have the leader, the guy who runs it all, obviously,
Deon Lennox. You have two guys in the tag team
you know that are gonna be in the tag team division,
and you're probably gonna get a guy to go after
the NXT North American Championship, you know, after the North
Americ Championship. I feel like that would have been a
better first step, you know, so then you would have
like a four on four kind of thing with the family,
(01:10:07):
the D'Angelo family. We're not four and four, but they'd
have to get another guy, but you know, that would
at least be like a three on three. But going
after like Oba femin who's literally like by himself, you know,
so obviously you're not gonna take the title off him
unless you guys, you know, you know, you guys cheat
to win, which for me, I feel like that would
be that'd be bad because that would you know, kind
(01:10:28):
of destroy the legacy of like fair competition. And you
know by all means, you know, you're a heel faction.
So then who gives an f but to you know,
to win over the w W universe and have them
not chanting who are you? You kind of have to
show that you belong in the ring. You know, you
can't like if there were like known well better known superstars,
(01:10:53):
you know, maybe I'd get it obviously, Like I said,
four young, absolute rising stars in NXC and in the
world of wrestling. But I just don't want this to
be over before it began. And so far, I gotta
be honest, I'm getting a red flags. I've seen red flags.
I'm a green with all the Twitter trolls online, with
the consistent you know, negative battery from the credits, from
(01:11:14):
the fans and from the industry figures. And as of
right now, I agree with what Adam Silverstein said of
CBS Sports. You know, the reason why he wasn't really
he ran a retribution is they did exactly what they
what you know, these four men did on NXT Venginece
Stay two oh. But if I mean to Nathan Frazier
and Axiom, the NXT World Tag Team titles, the title holders,
(01:11:35):
and just a bunch of pissed off teenagers causing trouble
after school man just kidding, no, but it is, I
don't know, and their style addressing you know, you know,
kind of black all black shield retribution, so that you know,
kind of didn't start off. I don't know, for me,
it didn't really hit, hasn't really started on the right foot.
But you know, not trying to knock it just just yet,
(01:11:59):
just yet, not you know, trying to stay openly optimistic
about it. So you know, yeah, that's a you know, hopefully,
you know, I always want to see young talented wrestlers
kind of be you know, kind of be all they
can be in an industry that obviously they dedicated their time, attention,
and their lives to. So you know, obviously I want
to see these four guys make it. I want to
see this work. I want to you know, maybe a
(01:12:21):
month down the line. Maybe I'm eating my own words.
In that case, mark a month from now, the twenty
first of March. If you know, if they're kicking ass
and taking names, I gotta be honest, I will, I will,
you know, I will call out Cutler James. I will
call out Dion lennox O, Cyrus Griffin and Siquond Sugars,
and I would apologize to them individually on this show.
(01:12:43):
