Speaker 1 (00:06):
At Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome to an episode of

(01:08):
the GSMC Wrestling Laurie Podcast, brought to you but the
GSMC Sports Network. I'm your favorite wrestling fan here, Eric
rodriguets from now on every Monday, so you know, think
of Monday as a you know, Eric's weekly wrestling show.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I will be live only on Monday.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
So make sure you guys, you know, Superman punched that
likely subscribe button to the show, so you guys don't
get you guys, don't miss that notification when you know
one of the greatest wrestling show goes live.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
No, I'm just kidding. No, well, you know it's a
good show. It's a good show. But I'm not all
like braggy about it, you know, not really douchey. But
I'm just kidding. Know, it's not not really anything like that.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I just want to you know, it's a podcast from
a fan for the fans, you know, and yeah, it's
super cool. You guys had a great week weekend. Sorry,
excuse me.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I hope you guys enjoyed the Super Bowl. I did not.
I did not. I gotta be honest. I thought it
was a terrible game. Terrible game.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Terrible halftime show in my opinion, obviously one thy and
ten percent. What happened to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
You know, no one really knows.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Maybe something was sent in a locker room, but they
just seemed absolutely just demoralized.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
It was it was, it was pretty crazy. It was
pretty crazy.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Credit congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts.
Obviously that defensive front man crazy having that much hurries,
you know, six sacks. I think I don't think they
blitzed once.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I could be run. Don't quote me on that.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
And you know his dang honestly, Nick Sirianni pretty good,
pretty good effort.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
On the other side, Andy Reid, you know, there was contemplation.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
On you know, him and Kelsey maybe retiring with the
next couple of years. Obviously, no threep, there is no
history you know that that is being you know, that
was made, which you know I was happy about. I
did not want to see the Chief three pet I
did not after the season that they had you know,
one score games, just being you know, having that edge,
and people were saying about the whole referees and stuff

(03:09):
like that.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I think it's nonsense.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
I think, you know, it comes down to, you know,
one little mistake and the Chiefs absolutely can capitalize. And
that's why it seems like it was such a big
deal once when the referees would throw the flag because immediately,
you know, Kansas City would you know, use it to
their advantage and you know a lot of fans they
need it out it's an excuse.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
And you know, it's pretty good. It was pretty good.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
You know. Obviously during the Super Bowl there was never
really any like hardcore controversial flags.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
The first you know, I think the first two offensive
series by one by Philadelphia, one by Kansas City. There
was like a flag that probably shouldn't have been called,
but no, you know, they went out there, let them play.
And you know, like I said, congratulations to the Eagles.
It's crazy. Well, you know, we're here to talk about wrestling.
It's a wrestling show. Thank you guys so much for
tuning in. It's first segment, we're gonna talk about SmackDown. Obviously,

(04:00):
gonna review SmackDown. Second segment, we're gonna talk about Raw.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Usually I wait.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Till after the podcast to talk about Monday Night Raw.
You know, it was around five o'clock. No, I think
you scratched. I think it was around like five. It
was around like five thirty, and I kind of got
you know, I kind of got a wild hair on
my butt and I was like, you know what I'm
doing research for obviously, you know the other you know,
the segments on the show. And I was like, you know,

(04:25):
let's just watch wrong, let's just do it, you know
what I mean. Like, now that I'm only gonna be
live Monday nights, might as well, do you know, just
cram as much as I possibly can. And you know,
it would be interesting to kind of jump my segments
up to maybe like six or seven.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
But you know, but who knows, you know.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
But you know, overall, it was a great episode of Money,
where we're gonna talk about it after we talk about
some smack Down.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Which was a good episode as well.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
You know, it was a decent episode obviously, you know,
building a momentum, tory elimination chamber and you know, a
SmackDown being three hours. I you know, I like the
fact that they are seeing different talents. Obviously, you guys
found out over the weekend all those stars that were
released by WWE, and you know, it just makes you think,

(05:10):
like you know, who's gonna be next, Who's gonna be next?
But but yeah, it's it was a good episode.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
It was a good episode. Let's go and dive on
into it.

It's already water under the bridge.

It's all gravy, baby, don't even worry about it. Make
sure you guys feel comfortable and make sure you know
this is a this our Wrestling podcast, So don't be
shy to drop your thoughts inside that chat. All right, So,
without further ado, let's talk about some WWE SmackDown. Jay
Usso has been making in a habit as of late
to be the first one to you know, to come on,
whether it's.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Raw or SmackDown. You know, he kicks off the show obviously,
he invites the WWEE champion, Cody Rhodes out to talk about,
you know, maybe this might be maybe I might choose you.
Maybe I might choose you.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
It'd be very it'd be very honorable to have a
main event with you at WrestleMania, obviously, he said.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Or I could be standing next to you as champion.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
And you know, based on what happened on Monday night,
Row tonight, I think he's gonna win the World Sevy
Wait Championship.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
It's kind of been that way.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
I ultimately heard rumors that Gunther was probably going to
drop the belt at WrestleMania, and then I think he's
gonna start, you know, building up some momentum toward his
feud that is uh, you know, supposed.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
To be Goldberg's final matches.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
I think it's supposed to be with uh with Gunther,
so that should be interesting. But I'm gonna miss him.
I'm gona miss gun Thro. I'm gona miss him as
a as a champion. Maybe he finds his way back
into the Intercontinental Championship picture that would ultimately be I
think a great choice, but bron breaker. Right now, he's

(08:23):
represented the title super freaking well, but the World Hevyweight Championship,
you know, being around the way to jay Uso, another
fan favorite.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I love Gunther.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I love his attitude, I love his UH, I love
his raw, and I love his talent.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
I love the way he dominates inside the ring.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
But then at the same time finds, you know, he
kind of creates a lot.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Of damn how do you say it?

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Like, he creates a lot of momentum, and he creates
a lot of spots for his opponents to actually you know, shine,
like a match having a match with Gunthro, whether you
win or lose, you find your way, you know, you
kind of put.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Your name on the map.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
So that's something that I that I'm definitely gonna miss,
you know, from Gunther as the world's heavyweight champion.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
But Jay be so Overrang now so over.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Everybody loves the yeating and you know, it's it's it's crazy.
He opens up every show so far and you know,
that eating thing goes for like ten minutes.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
And then Pat McAfee does it, and Michael Cole tries
to do it and it's funny as hell. But you know,
Jay Usa will ultimately kind of lock down the spot
as you know, as the you know, the main guy
owned Raw which you know, they this This could be good,
This could definitely be interesting, especially with the whole Roman
Reigns thing. He has to Ula Falla. You know, who

(09:41):
is he gonna challenge Cody again? I honestly doubt it.
I honestly, you know, I doubt it a lot. See
him Punk is expecting a favor from Paul Hayman. Maybe
the favor is you know, Jay Usso when he wins,
the first person he's defending his title against is seem Punk.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
You know, family friend kind of thing. Maybe the that's
what's up, you know, maybe that was the you know,
maybe that was the favor.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
But you know, Tomatanga, Jacob Fatu come out, brawl. You know, bam,
it happens. You know, Jacob Fattoo says, my family needs
that title back to kind of it's kind of get
prestige back into it. But you know, they're they ended
up having Attack tam title match. At the end of
the night, Bianca by Lair defeats Piper Niven elimination Chamber qualifier.

(10:24):
I honestly, I thought that was a great and that
was a great match. Bianca she's in. I don't think
Naomi's gonna get in. You know, it would be kind
of a kind of a not trying to be mean
or anything, but kind of, in my opinion, would be
kind of like a waste of a spot.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
But you know, d I Y cut into good promo.
I love the fact that d I Y.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
You know, they're embracing this overall heal attitude. I love
how Johnny Gargano. I like how Johnny Gargano is on
the on the mic. You know, I do Tomaso Champa.
He's a little he's a little edgy. I gotta be honest,
but when Johnny Gargano like kind of handles himself, I
love it. Pretty deadly comes out obviously super pissed off

(11:05):
because d I Y was supposed to like be their friends,
give them a title shot, and they they got the
title shot. They you know, Nick All this came out
and made the match. They pretty deadly defeated the Y,
which they did pretty fast. Actually the match didn't take
too long, you know, pretty deadly. You know, they got
lucky to Moscow champion Johnner Gargano obviously thrown off guard.

(11:27):
Weren't they weren't even in their wrestling gear. But you
know who am I to make excuses for DIY. Next
we have a triple threat qualifier eliminated for the elimination
chimber match. We had Big Jim Usso against Drew mcutyre
La night.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
It was a good match.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
I liked it I overall, you know, I liked how
the match showed that you know that Drew mcutyre, he's big,
he's bad, he's a top heel. But you know, someone
like Jimmy Usso could ultimately hang in the ring with them.
You know, I definitely thought when Jimmy Usso was in
that match, he was gonna he was in a lot,
a lot of good spots.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
He didn't looks slow, he didn't.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Really have any miscues, no botches, no, nothing like that.
Jimmy Usso he understands how the you know, how to
play the game inside the ring, so to speak. Obviously
him and his brother have been you know, dominating the
tag team division for quite some time now. But you know,
Jimmy Usso, I definitely think he's going to get a
shot down the line for the United States Championship, w

(12:22):
WE Championship a whole different story.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Maybe money in the bank winner.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Maybe he would be. He'd be an interesting money to
make winner. I gotta be honest, you know, Oh, is
he gonna cash in on his brother? Is he gonna
cash in on you know, Cody Roads or whoever is
the w W champion, which will probably be Cody Rhodes.
But uh, you know, I definitely like the way that
Jimmy Usso stays relevant with the actions that he that
he kind of has inside the ring. And he's good
on the mic as well, you know, obviously not like

(12:50):
his brother. He's no, he's nowhere going to be near
the yeat Master yeating all over the place. But you know,
he's he he puts on some good matches and he
could definitely, he could definitely hold a title, but sad
to say, I don't think it.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Will ever be a w w E main championship. The L. A.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Knight, still after losing his United States Championship, seems like
he's kind of been floating around the roster. Obviously all
the talent in the world, he has all the talent
in the world.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
But you know, maybe if right now would definitely.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Be time for just like something to switch up, maybe
for him to kind of come off as a you know,
as a cocky.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Arrogant man.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
The L. A. Knight turns heel and then the United
States Championship picture gets a little more interesting, especially if
Jimmy Usso decides to you know, if they decide to
put the bell on Usso. But then now you have
Carmela Hayes on Dreday still biding at the bids the
mizz what's gonna happen when the White Six come to
SmackDown Smackdownd's packed and you know, obviously it's gonna stay

(13:56):
three hours until I think, Triple H said in a
press conference to June July, I believe one of those,
one of those months, So right now would definitely be
the time to kind of throw out as much, you know,
possible storylines a little bit, you.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Know, trial by era.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Let's see how this works out, and see if we
can get some of these superstars that are on the
SmackDown roster, you know, let's.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Get them a job.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
You know, let's get them a job. Obviously hated. I
hate seeing superstars, you know released. I hate, you know,
getting that notification on Instagram or you know whatever wrestling
news source you like, you like to use, but you know,
it just.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Sucks, you know. And I found out Baron Corman was released.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
And even back in the day day, you know, back
in I think it was twenty twenty, during the COVID years,
during the Thunderdome era, you just saw like people just
get released, release AOP released once again. It's crazy. It's
you know, like I said, sad sucks. Indy hartwell, she
was one another one that was pretty damn awesome. Sonya Deville,

(14:55):
I guess is another name that was, you know, part
of the people being released. Electro Lopez, who I was
gonna get a little bit more attention obviously with Lows,
Garza and Santos Escobar probably kind of kind of cementing
his name within that United States Championship or maybe the WWE.
You know, I feel like whenever he fights inside the ring,
Santos is he does pretty good matches. And Cody Roads

(15:18):
is gonna need a new opponent, and you know, right now,
I don't think they're gonna start anything new, especially heading
toward WrestleMania. So definitely the first episode of Monday nightra
in Las Vegas WrestleMania, maybe we you know, we find
who's going to take on Cody Rhoads. Next, so where's
Randy Orton?

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Where the hell have he? Where is he?

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Are?

Speaker 1 (15:39):
We gonna have a WrestleMania with that Randy Orton. That's crazy, crazy,
crazy crazy. Next, we have a Kevin Owens promo obviously
talking about how Sammy Zaine heard his feelings that says
he's gonna pay. Akira Tizawa is defeated by Carmelo Hayes.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
And in a pretty good match. It was a pretty good,
decent match.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Charlotte Flair cut to promo seems super confident, obviously interrupted
by Tiffany Stratton. Tiffany Stratt, she wants to prove herself.
She wants to prove herself. She is the future of
w WE. Charlotte Flair. You know, it was kind of
interesting to kind of see them stand side by side,
and I was like, it's t whimsies.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
But at the same time, it was.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Kind of like, you know, I'm not too sure how
much younger Tiffany Stratton is to Charlotte Flair, but you
could definitely see it.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
The fans could see it, and you know, you love her.
You hater Charlotte Flair, Charlotte Flair, and she's gonna go
in the ring and do Charlotte Flair things.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
You know, she's kind of like a sure thing like
Patriworck Mahomes. It's a you know, the success is undeniable.
It's crazy, it's crazy. She told Tiffany Stratton, how you're
begging me to make you a star at WrestleMania, and
that's true, that's true. At first, I was like, oh, dude,
if Tiffany Stratton gives Charlotte Flair a shot at that title,
she can kiss that baby goodbye. Man. But this could

(16:52):
definitely be a great way to make Tiffany Stratton, you know,
basically this new high end main event. I feel, and
I could be wrong, I feel that's right now, she
doesn't have that.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
I don't think she has it yet. I don't.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Obviously, she's defending her title against Nia Jack's next SmackDown.
If she finds a way to convincingly win there and
she defeats somebody like Charlotte Flair at the at WrestleMania.
You know, people could be sinking a whole different tune.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
About Tiffy time Man.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
But as of right now, like like she comes out,
I'm not sure if she's a heel or babyface or
what the hell she's doing, But I feel like WWE
needs to choose the you know, a path for Tiffany
Stratton right now. So so nothing obviously, you don't mess up,
you know, her title reign or her title run, because
ben that.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Could happened, that could really happen.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Next, you know, Nia Jax comes out, interrupts talking about
the you know, the blonde back and forth nonsense. Then
Alexa Blist comes out to ring clears and we have
a match. We have Alexa Blist defeated Candace. Candice lay
with sister Abigail into the d DT. I thought that
was a pre be bad finishing move. I don't think
we're gonna see the twisted blist anymore, which is kind
of sad because I thought that was moved. That move

(18:05):
was kind of fire. Little Scars of the MotorCity machine
Guns have a promo backstage. The SmackDown Tag Team Division
is heating up absolutely pretty deadly. You got the profits
little scars of most MotorCity machine Guns and uh, you
know d I Y. So you know, if they do
and Tamatonga, you know, Jacob Fattoo, if they decide to

(18:25):
jump into the tag team division, you know, they could
definitely shake it up for the good. So I think
I'm definitely hot on the SmackDown Tag Team Division right now.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
It's pretty cool Cody.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Roads and Jay Uso team up to take on Tomatuga
Jacob Fattoo.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
It was a good match, great match, but then you know,
you had the you had the baby Faces win. It
was kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
But then solo solos Cob returns, you know which I
I like. I like that he I like that they're
not just giving up on him. I feel like from
now on, maybe Solosic you know, they kind of put
him up. I felt like wwe kind of sent him
up to fail. And my reasons why is I thought

(19:06):
he challenged Cody Roads.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Way too early, way too early.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
You know about this whole thing with them, when he
decides to steal the Ulafalla and then he you know,
the moment Roman Raids comes back, he loses, I think ultimately,
although he did, you know, have some good matches with
Roman reigns and during the whole bloodline storyline so far,
and he actually cleanly pinned him on at Bad Blood.

(19:31):
You know, a lot of people think that Solo Soka,
you know, he doesn't look weak.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I think his character really looks weak right now.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
And you know, him coming out to you know, fight
Cody Rhoads kind of showing and being like, hey, like
I'm not backing down.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
I'm still here.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
I'm still a threat. I'm definitely you know, I'll comfort
your tight, I'll take it. Don't underestimate me.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
So you know, I want to see something better for Solo.
I do.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I definitely would love to see him, But then again,
if I feel if I feel like he goes to.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
You of States Championship. I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
I just feel like that's the emotion and it's it's
and it's WWE's fault because they wanted this whole bloodline
storyline super quick at Survivor Series and they got it
and it was It was a hell of a match.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
It was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
It was nice to see the old the original blood
line get back together. But I don't know, it's just
I feel like right now, for Solo Sokova to be
successful in w WE, he needs to come out looking
stronger than ever. After media, after WrestleMania, you just have
Solo Socoa be this complete and utter bad ass. Every
single time he steps into the ring, he wins in

(20:36):
dominating fashion. You know, I don't want to see him
with like I don't want to see cheap wins anymore.
I want to see Solo Sokoa's character kind of want
to see him look himself in the mirror, and uh,
you know, Tomatonga tungaloa Jakofatu obviously they still back him,
and uh you know, for him, he's like, you know what,
I need to get better. I see failure in the

(20:57):
mirror and I can't have that. I am going to
totally change my whole perception. I'm gonna change my whole
persona and I'm going to you know, just I think
he's gonna start kicking ass, and I feel like he
needs that. I definitely feel like Solosko needs something different
because if you just have him come back, you know,
he taxed Cody Rhoades and then he loses again and

(21:19):
then it's just like you know, wash Rinsom repeat all over.
And I feel like that would be super detrimental to
a you know, to a young talented star that they
you know, they wanted to make solo, you know, him
kind of going after the Ull follow up pretty ballsy,
and I thought that was you know, obviously you get
respect going after things, although sometimes you might not get it.
Sometimes you have to have the cojones just to be

(21:40):
like I'm gonna I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try, all right, God,
So hey, do not go anywhere. We talked about snackdown,
and now we're gonna talk about some w WE Monday.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
And Night Raw.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
We're gonna review the episode and will we come back.
So grab your favorite snack, grab your favorit. High school
beverage and joining hid in about twenty five seconds. So hey,
do not go absolutely anywhere.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
I feel like my mine, everybody in the world die.
Please Lord give me us side a side. I feel
like I'm losing my everybody in the world die. Please

(22:20):
don't give me a shine shine. I want to be
the greatest everybody on the face shit.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I look around. I feel like everybody is the faces.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
I make this every day and I'm in patient helping.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
One day I blow up from the basement, say, man,
the top is so baking.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I don't even ship that I think.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Is amazing waiting for my day when I'm playing sold down?

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Shoulds are a thousand faces?

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Hey, give me that.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Crown keeping my way in to be put down, hitting
your place, all this my town.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
If I want that ship that, I'll get it right now.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
I'm losing it.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
The loose and fits, the moosy shit, the stupid myth.
You choose to live, a choose to deep, You choose
to fight and lose a grip and lose a gift all.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I feel like I'm losing my.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Everybody in the WORLDE please give me us everybody the world.

Yeah, just podcasts all about having fun, all about having fun.
You know, you know, I try not to take things
too seriously, especially when it comes to sports.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
You know, you turn on ESPN or Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Or you know, you get these you know, you get
these hardcore takes on like I don't know, you know,
kind of like the like the Skip Bayliss's getting.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
No, I'm not get into that, not getting into that.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
You know, just want to make sports fun again, you know,
let's let's let's let's take sports back, guys. All right,
so without further ado, let's talk about some Monday Night
raw much like w w E Snackdown started. We saw
jay Uso kickoff Monday Night RA. He was on top
of an electrifying announced table that gave him the power

(25:50):
to just start eating all over the place, all over
the music city, and out of nowhere, out of nowhere,
Gunta comes out of you know, sweeping.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
The legs of main events jay Uso. So he falls
on the table.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
I thought, I thought this was just gonna be a
complete beat down by Gunther obviously that you know, the
he got power bombed a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Gunther was forced to kind of be thrown into the
not thrown, he was.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Kind of pushed back onto the entrance way and then uh,
from there you know, he starts talking crap, starts talking crap,
and everybody knows once when somebody starts talking crap, the
person that, you know was absolutely Dynamo.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Inside the ring, jay Uso grabs.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
The microphone, He's like hey, hey, he's like, he's like
he's struggling to get up.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
I thought I kind of laughed. I was like, oh shit,
like crap, I thought.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
I don't know, I thought it was interesting, you know. I,
like I said, I thought this was gonna be a
nice way for Gunther to kind of seem strong. Seemed
like a complete utter badass inside the ring. You know,
jay Uso is no match for going and uh yeah,
it just wasn't like that. They ended up fighting again.

(27:02):
You know, jay Usso announcing that he is choosing the
world's heavyweight champion go through the face at WrestleMania forty
one Las Vegas. So I thought that was I thought
that was pretty cool. And honestly, I kind of I
think everybody knew that was gonna happen. You know, it
was no you know, no really any surprise. But then
you know, Gunther and uh, you know, so, like I said,
they started battling out again. And then and then bam.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Definitely crazy one thousand and ten percent. But yeah, now
we have a we have the first match at WrestleMania.
It seems like a Night one kind of thing. I
think this is gonna be a Night one, maybe Night two,
I don't know, maybe you know what, Night too. This
seems like a main event for Night too, you know
what I mean. I think it's gonna be pretty bad ass.
Next we have Damage Control. Damage Control uh takes on

(27:48):
Live Morgan and where Cal Rodriguez. Obviously EO Sky and
Ray Ripley sharing some uh sharing some comments in the back.
You know, it was Ray Ripley's fall ultimately that EO
Sky could not qualify for the elimination Chamber match. I
thought the match was pretty good. It was a great
displayed women's tag team. You know, liv Morgan got busted open.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
It was crazy. She got like a gash on. I
think it was the right side. I think it's the
right side. But it was pretty bad ass. It's it's
always cool to see blood.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Obviously, I'm a huge attitude are kind of guy, So
I'm like, yeah, I want to let's just see more
of that.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
But no, you know, obviously she got hit. It was crazy.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
She was it was.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
It was bad.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
It was bad. She you know, she was gushing out blood.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
It was interesting where Kyle Rodriguez super impressive inside the ring,
eos guy to go to Kai coming back from a
from a concussion concussion. I think she came back from
a concussion, kicked ass in the ring.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
It was, it was sick, it was.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
It was a good tag team match. Next we have
an elimination Chamber qualifier. We had Bailey defeat the w
WE Women's inter Continental Champion Library Valkyria and one hell
of a match too. You know it was I think
was it back to back? Was it back to back
women's matches. I'm not too sure if there was. But
if that, if that's the case in WWE, obviously did
it right the women in uh, you know, Raw, SmackDown, NXC,

(29:04):
it's a it's getting pretty bad ass. It's not that
it wasn't cool or anything like that. I just think
ultimately that sometimes on Raw, I think, especially on Raw,
you know, I think the girls they I think some
of their matches, like women's tag team matches, if Bianca,
bell Aaria and Naomi are inside the ring like usually

(29:24):
they don't last more than like seven or eight minutes.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
So it was kind of cool to see both of
these matches kind of take up a huge chunk of
Monday Night Raw.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
So yeah, kudos to the girls that you know that
kicks ass. That's cool Rox and Perez sitting ringside. Obviously,
she has a qualifier next week against against where Cal Rodriguez.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
It'd be interesting to see if she wins. Maybe she will,
you know.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Because right now you kind of have no one really
overbearingly the odds on favorite to win the match. I
no one really knows who Charlotte Flair is going to
pick quite just yet, but.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Because dang, right now, so you have.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Bianca, Bianca's probably odds on favorite probably so far with
Bianca Live, Alexa Bliss, and now Bailey.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
So does Roxan Perez.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Fit better in that picture than mar Carolardriguez. I, I honestly, man,
that's a that's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
That is a tough one.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
You know, it'd be kind of cool Rox tim Press.
She's you know, super spunky, she's confident. She's a two
time w w E NXC Women's World champion, so you know,
I definitely just think she can hang in there with
the with some of the best of them, but I don't.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Know were coward Riaz. She's she's strong. This is her
type of match right here, this is her type of match.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
You know, be kind of crazy to see her win
the an elimination chamber match and fight Rare Whipley.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
They'd have a.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Huge you know, it would be like a star studded
heavyweight bat on the Women's division main event team wrestle
Mania Nite one. I think that'd be pretty bad as
I think that'd be great, pretty good match. I think
that'd be pretty cool. AJ Stiles hit it, you know,
hit a promo obviously addressing the fans in Nashville, Tennessee,
and he was talking about basically everything we've been thinking

(31:14):
about in terms of AJ Styles. Is he going to retire?
You know, he made his return and he took on
carmel Le Hayes in a match that wasn't at all
like like what we expected. I thought him injured. I
thought it was thought of scripted. I thought it was kfabe,
And you can tell, you know, by just his reaction away.
He was so freaking pissed. AJ Styles knew that it

(31:35):
was you know, it was an injury. And you know,
he's been gone for about I think four months. He's
been about four four months when we thought we were
going to get him back four months ago.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
But you know, he looks good.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
A J.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Stiles.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
He looks good, he looks strong. He's not ready to
hang up the you know, his boots yet. I don't
think the fans want to see him hanging up as well.
Would love to see him participate within this partnership of
NXC and TNA. He goes home to TNA where he
he made the company, you know, big, and I don't
I feel like that'd be super cool, that'd be super badass.
The judgment day, Dominic, Masterira and Carlito obviously come out,

(32:08):
you know, trying to stay relevant within the storylines obviously
where we were talking about in the last segment about
the you know, the the hall of WWE superstars who
recently got who got let go, who got released or
they signed their contracts or you know they got done
with their developmental contract and you know they weren't signed
it brought back, you know, Dominic Mysterio, I feel like

(32:30):
he kind of has a blank check. I don't think
he would really be let go from WWE. As long
as raised there. I feel like, as long as raised there,
Carlito right there on the cusp of probably being let go.
You know JD McDonough before he got injured, one hell
of a superstar. But he's another one that probably you know,
probably what will be and end up getting let go.

(32:53):
But you know, this whole stud you know, they mentioned,
you know, backstage promo, they mentioned that they need a
new a new person in the group, and Finn Baler
was like.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
No, no, no, I don't want to do it. I
think that's stupid.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
You know, if this Judgment Day storyline continues to falter
like it has been week after week after week, you know,
this could be the end for a lot of careers.
And right now Triple H if he wants the Judgment
Day to remain a thing. Obviously, after losing Damian.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Priest and Ray Ripley, you know, the it's kind of
it's kind of been going down, but they're kid there
a possible heavyweight kind of being the being the muscle.
I thought Bronson Reid would have been a good a
good choice to kind of take over Damian Priest's spot,
and Bronson Reid he's young. He's young, and he's definitely

(33:43):
you know, part of the future of w w WEE.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
When he comes back from his I think a broken foot,
broken ankle, he's he's gonna kick ass, and he's it's
just you know, it's gonna be It's gonna be great.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
You know.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
I feel like that would definitely revamp the judgment day
and also be great for Bronson Reid.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
But but then again, maybe you might slow Brownson to
read down. Maybe that might be bad for him.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
You know, next day of a World Tack Team title match,
the war Raiders win via the qualification American made obviously,
like Michael Cole said, just wants to They just want to.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Make a statement. You know, they just want to make
a statement.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
You know, Julius and Brutus, both of them are pretty
freaking impressive. I feel like they kind of, you know,
waited to pull the trigger a little bit too late
on on even Chad. On Chad as well, and then
when the Creeds came from NX, he you know, they
looked so promising and then you know, he probably they

(34:37):
should have probably headlined with Chad Gable like you they
should have immediately like linked up and then they linked up.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Seemed like it was kind of late.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Then then the the Wyatt Six come, you know, they
come in and then w W E they Okay, we
need you know, we need the White six to look dominant.
We need them to you know, kind of make a
statement on raw who were gonna have them fight against? Oh,
we'll do the Creed Brothers, Chad Gable, you know, and
you know as opposed to they should probably be the

(35:07):
ones winning because they are young in the future of WWE,
Like if you look at the Wyatt six, you know,
no offense or anything like that, but you know, Bo Dallas,
you know Eric Rowan, Dexter Loomis, Joe Gacy, he's young enough.
You know, Nicky Ash, Nicky Cross. You know, all of
them are kind of either at the medium of their

(35:28):
career or probably like like they're getting up there. They're
getting up there. So I'm not too sure if you know,
making the decision to have the Wyatt's you know, defeat
American Maid was the right choice. I feel like this
whole storyline with the Wyatts are kind of a kind
of blowing out. They're kind of blowing up right now.
You know, they lost against the final Testament thought that

(35:51):
they were going to continue that war. Guess what, you know,
aop Paul ellery they're gone. Lord knows what's gonna happen
with Scarlett and Carrion Cross.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
But I don't know.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
It was crazy, But like I said, the American made
you know, with the titles, you know, destroy the the
war Raiders. And yeah, next match was a match that
I ultimately kind of thought was going to be you know,
I didn't think it was gonna be that good. The
Ray Mysterio and Logan Paul main event was pretty badass.

(36:22):
It was pretty cool, you know, seeing Punk cutting that
promo with Logan Paul. Logan Paul Man. People hate him,
you know, they won't even let him speak like he
was saying kind of like Punk said, you know, it's
kind of like kind of like what you would call it,
like Dominic Mysterio was out and.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Logan Paul. He has so much talent, so much talent.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
You know, usually when people are on a spot with
Ray Masterio inside the ring, you know, Paul, he made
Mysterio look really really good, and you know, and obviously
you know, ray Masterio is a WWE Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
He's a legend.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
So you know, he made Paul look good as well.
But but that match didn't have to go on as
long as it had to, and honestly did not. Logan Paul,
I felt like he busted his ass inside the ring
put on a great match for both of them. It
was like a sleeper match of the you know, you know,
match of the week kind of thing. You know, I
thought the match was really done, was done really really well.

(37:18):
Uh like Logan Paul didn't look over bearingly stronger than
the stereo, like like he kept him around, like he
definitely kept ring Mysteria around. Probably most of the matches
that I watched Ring Masterio fight, I'm like, oh crap,
here we go, like, you know, it's all gonna end
the same. It's all gonna end the same. That's how
it always ends with Ring masterios matches. Either he you know,
either somebody interferes or he hits the six to one

(37:41):
nine and then uh, you know, then he does the
sense on then uh you know, knees up, then the
roll up or you know, this match didn't have a
cheap ending to it. I thought this match was actually
pretty you know, he thought the match was gonna be done.
You know, at the eight minute mark and then like
and then it just kept going and going and going, and.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
It was cool. Like I said, this match was you know,
definitely a sleeper of the match of the week.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
You know, Logan Paul look's good. He's gonna be one
hell of a WWE superstar. He's already seeming like he's
gonna be a great heel. I would love to see
him just you know, embrace it a.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
Little bit more.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Obviously, I'm I could totally be you know, jumping the
gun on this, but uh, you know, I you know,
I feel like when he gets in the ring and
people start booing him, he doesn't even a chance and
he doesn't even.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Have a chance to speak. It kind of looks like
low key bothers him.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Like I don't know why, maybe only any one who
notices that, But like when he goes out there, I
feel like, Logan Paul's cool, Like you know, he you know,
you like to be liked.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
You know.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Sometimes when he's on the mic, you know, it could
sometimes it could take a little bit for him to
you know, to get going, but overall, he's he's decent
when it comes to cutting cutting promos. I feel like
he's actually pretty good actually, but I don't know why
he seems like it bothers him that the.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Fans treat him like that.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
You know, you know, not a lot of heels get
treated like that usually the universe, the w W universe,
you know, they they you know, they they paid.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Their respects, they let them you know, talk and talk,
and you know, then they have their.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
You know, their reactions and stuff like that. But I
don't know, I feel like Logan Paul is gonna be great.
He's he's gonna be a great WWE superstar, and you know,
winning the elimination Chamber. Probably not, but it would be
interesting to kind of have, you know, because you're gonna
have seam punk seth Rawlins is gonna win. You're gonna
have seampunk seth Rawlins, Drew Mcatire, Johnson and who all

(39:32):
want to kick the living hell out of each other.
And then maybe somebody like Logan Paul couldn't slither in,
slither in and get that win there, and you know,
it would be out of the ordinary main event because
as of right now, we know one main event is
already foretold. Obviously we saw it coming. The Jay Usso
and Gunther but I don't know, maybe this one, you know,

(39:56):
Cody Rhodes, this match is not going to be wrestle
me A Night two worthy of a main event. Maybe
just maybe if you know, seeing punk wins. But people
want to see seampunk fight Seth Rollins, you know, I
I want I would love personally to see seampunk main
event WrestleMania. But the opposite storylines that you could tell

(40:19):
would be absolutely detrimental, be you know, kind of be
kind of lost obviously, Seth Rowlands setting to probably fight
Roman Reigns.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Uh, Drew McIntyre, what's gonna happen with him?

Speaker 3 (40:33):
You know?

Speaker 1 (40:33):
I want to see like those four men just go
and beat the hell out of each other for like
a fatal four way.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
You know, it would be God. I don't know how
Elimination Chaper is gonna end.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
I know that John Cena probably will find his way
into the main event at WrestleMania.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
I like I said before, I just hope it's not
one of those cheap lot you know, those cheap endings.
You know where you know they you know, they both
pin each other and nobody's shoulders were clearly.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
On the floor, So both of them are gonna get
a shot at Cody Roads, and we get a triple
threat match that could definitely you know, that could definitely happen.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I can see that. It'll also be an interesting way
for Cody to lose the title, you know, but I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
It's it's I can't really right now, I can't gauge it.
But you know that's what makes wrestling great, that it
makes it cool, all right, God, So wait, do not
go anywhere. We're gonna talk about the Bella Twins returning
to Wwe can't wait to talk to some Nikki Andbrey Bella.
So grab your favorite snack, grab your favorite ice cold beverage.
You join me here in about twenty five seconds.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
So hey, do not go anywhere.

Every Monday night we got Eric's Monday weekly wrestling show.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
So make sure you guys.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Superman punched that like a subscribe button to the GSMC
Wrestling Laureate Podcast. So yeah, you see more about professional wrestling.
We talk about all the action inside and outside the ring,
backstage curtain calls, rumors, dramas, and you know. We talk
about superstar and active statuses and injury updates, the contract negotiations,
extensions and new signings. We talked about promotions from AEW

(43:15):
towweef and make some major news in the world of
professional wrestling. We talked about it here on this show.
One thousand and ten percent so make sure you guys
smash that Superman punched that like and subscribe buttonto the show.
All right, So without further dude's going to jump onto
our third segment. We got some Bellatwins. We have the
Bellatwins returning to WWE. Obviously, like I said, hit up

(43:39):
that super chess. So you guys feel like you guys
are part of the mix. But you know at WWE
wor Rumble, number thirty always seems to be kind of
like a surprise entrance. We got Nicky Bella coming in
at number thirty. I personally thought it should have been
like Alexa Bliss. I feel like that would have been
more of a pop. But find out later on that

(44:01):
Nicki Bella is. You know, she's taking this seriously, you know.
She addressed the topic on the Nikki and Brie Bella Show.
The podcast she said this on a quote, I couldn't
believe how much my body remembered. You know, so keep
tuning in because you will see another fearless Nikki appearance sooner.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Rather than later.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
She then credited Natalia for helping her train and get
back into the ring. You know, talking about Natalia saying
that you know, she needs to find her in her
like fu and you know, work on regaining her confidence
back inside the ring. And then she teased that Brie
Bella could definitely be coming along, you know, for the
ride as well. She said this in a quote, Hopefully Bri,

(44:42):
you know, bre Mode will be by my side soon.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
So you know, she you know this. These girls are back.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
You know, they're they're they're still they're still young, they
still you know, they still can kick total ass.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
I you know, my wife, she's a huge, huge Bella
Twins fan. She used to watch that, you know, the
Total Bellas.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
I'm not a huge reality TV show kind of guy,
so I don't really you know, dabbling it too much.
But you know, all I know is when these girls
were inside the ring, whether if they're you know, doing
a nice little wrestling cameo.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Obviously, both of them are Hall of Famers.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
They were inducted in the two thousand wait wait wait,
Hall of Fame twenty twenty, twenty twenty. They you know,
they made it to the Hall of Fame. You know
when they were when they arrived on the scene, I
thought they were pretty cool. You know, nobody thought about
this whole Twin switcher room in the middle of the
match kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
You know.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
It was funny, it was cool, you know what I mean,
Like it was a different take on professional wrestling that
you know, two sisters who grew up watching wrestling. You know,
then they hit the you know, I geez, no, they
weren't GCW. I think they were in Florida Championship.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
No.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
I could be wrong. I could be totally wrong. I
gotta fact check that one. But I feel, you know,
whether it it be like the Women's division, the Diva's division.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Obviously, both of them have won the title respectively on
different you know, on different occasions. They also had a
nice little few that was actually pretty you know, pretty
damn entertaining. But if they come back, you know, I
really it has to be tag team. I feel like
although wrestling is way way away safe for now than

(46:23):
they probably was back in the day, and with this
new storyline by you know, with Triple H Paul avec
as opposed to you know, Vince McMahon or anything like that,
you know, I definitely feel like both of these girls
would be absolutely badass as a tag team. Like I
mentioned before, when they were wrestling, they didn't have the
women's Tag Team Championships.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
They didn't have that, and if they did, you would
probably see.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
An eight time maybe even like a ten time women's
World tag team title reins in Nicki and Bribella because
they were that damn good. And you know you did see,
you know, Nicki come back a couple of you know,
a couple of single spots. Obviously you see her right there.
She took on Ronda Rousey for the dub for the

(47:06):
Raw Women's Championship. I think it was at Evolution, and
you know, it was one of those matches where Ronda
Rowsey was just you know, throwing people around and it
was kind of crazy. But you know, if they come
back tag team, they could definitely do it. These girls
could definitely most definitely. You know what, It's weird like
now I feel like I can tell them apart. Before
I was like, no, f anyway, man, there's no freaking

(47:29):
way I can tell these girls apart. But uh, you know,
obviously Brie on the left, Nikki on the right. If
I'm wrong, it hit me up in the chat, be like, Eric,
you're still stupid.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
I'm ex kidding, no, but uh yeah, no, I you
know I want to see them come back in the
women's tag team division. Maybe occasional singles bouts.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
Maybe we can, you know, maybe like if there's a
qualifier for like a tournament or a Queen of the
Ring kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
I would love to see them in singles bouts.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
Nicki more or less is probably likely to come back,
but Brie is a you know, it'd be kind of
a push.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
I know, you know, she kind of gave wrestling up.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
You know, Nicky has always kind of had that bug
of her, you know, coming back and testing the waters
once again.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
But Brie, you know, she's you know, she's not that
being a mom will stop you from being a WWE superstar.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
But you know, her husband's Brian Danielson, you know, recently
retiring from ae W and wrestling as a whole. So
it would be kind of more of a push to
see her kind of lace up her boots once again
get into the Squirts circle. Because, like I said, Nicki
has dabbled in coming back more. I feel like, you know,
she mentioned in that and in that interview, in the

(48:36):
comment on her podcast saying that she can't believe you
know how you know her body had that muscle memory
not doubting Brie whatsoever. But you know, it might be
a little harder for her to kind of come back.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
But it would, you know, it would be kind of cool.
It would definitely be super cool.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
You know.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
When they debuted in November seven, two thousand and eight,
I thought it was a you know, I thought it
was cool. You know, like I said, it was nice
to see kind of that tandem like sisters act and
you know they're they're freaking twins. It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
And they fought the first ever singles match against each
other March uh, March thirty first, two thousand and nine,
Like I said before each our former Divas champions, and
they are sixteen minutes apart, ladies and gentlemen. They were
you know, they're twins, sixteen minutes apart from Scottsdale, Arizona.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
I think they can come back. Women's Tag Team division.
It's heating up.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
You know.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
You know, you had Aislodon.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
We recently released the on Holy Union will be no
More on WWE. You know, right now you have car Jackson,
last legend of the Metaphor girls. You have you know,
you have Damage Patrol Live Morgan, Rakyle, Rodriguez, Bianco Bellaire Jade.
You have I don't know what's gonna happen with PFC.
Now you have who else is in the NX see

(49:57):
thet I'm forgetting somebody. I know there's another women's tag
team on NXC that I can't no, you know what,
maybe I'm not Maybe I'm not tripping. Maybe I was
thinking Corrigid and the Rock Sanpreze, but they kind of
seem like they're you know, they're not really friends anymore.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
So there's a spot.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
There's a spot, you know, and women's tag team in
any tag team, even the men's tag team division, you know,
you don't necessarily have to be the biggest, the baddest,
the strongest, the fastest. You could find a way just
basically based on your.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
Tag team chemistry.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
And obviously the belatwins their sisters. No one has better
chemistry than that, so you know, they could definitely win there.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
You know, they could definitely get some wins.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Having a little have a little uh, you know, had
a little bit of flavor to the women's tag team division.
It'd be pretty cool. I wouldn't be against it. I
feel like it'd be pretty badass, and you know, we
might be seeing them in WWE sooner rather than later, so,
you know, Hall of Famers. I thought they kind of
got inducted super early, but I feel like w w

(51:00):
WE thought that they were done with wrestling. Obviously, Nikki
feels otherwise about that, but yeah, no, it's a it's
crazy and it would be an interesting, you know, nice
little breath of nostalgic, a new you know, the breath
of nostal nostalgia in the Women's World Tag Team division.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
I think that'd be pretty pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (51:19):
All right, guys, Next, we're gonna talk about a historic feud,
re re reignited, reignited. We have Kevin Owens and Samy's
and obviously once when they're in Ring of Honor, Kevin Stein,
n El Journey, Coo, Jerney, Coo Jerminico.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
You know, we're gonna talk about the you know, their feud.
How's it gonna end up at?

Speaker 1 (51:38):
I feel like it's gonna end that wrestle media or
We're gonna get to that when we come back to
grab your favorite snack, grab your favorite ie. Quote Beverete,
you joined me here in about twenty seconds, so hey.

All right, ere, we are back with the GSMC Wrestling
Laureate Podcast, brought to you with the GSMC Sports Network.
I'm your favorite wrestling fan here Eric Rodriguez every Monday
night to talk about the greatest thing in the world,
professional wrestling and all the action inside and outside of
the ring, backstage curtain calls, all the rumors, all the drama.
We talk about superstar and active statuses, injury updates, their

(52:51):
contract negotiations, extensions and new signings. We talk about promotions
like Nutam Professional Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, We talk about everything.
Wae ae w to make some major news in the
world of professional wrestling, we talk about it here on
this show.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
One thousand and ten percent. So make sure you guys.
Superman punched that like a subscribe button to follow the show.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
All right, So we're gonna talk about my fourth segment.
We have Kevin Owens Sammy Zane feud. Historic rivalry has
been reignited. Obviously best friends in real life, you know,
much like you know you talk to you talk to
a lot of professional wrestlers. You know, a lot of
the times, the best storylines, the best matches that you

(53:34):
can do are with the person that you're most closest
with because you know, you're not afraid to kind of
go there. You're not afraid to you know, you trust
each other, you know, and the company is based off
of trust. You know, these guys were you know, tag
team champions together. They've hated each other back and forth,
and now we have this historic rivalry renewed. Two of
Canada's best literally brothers, you know, Kevin, like Owen Hart,

(53:59):
Brett Hart. You know, when they had their feud in
w w F it was great because there they have
great chemistry, their brothers, so you know, it was you know,
pretty bad ass. They won the w w TAX Team
Todles WrestleMania thirty nine back in the Ring of Wander
Kevin Steen and l Jernyureka Generico. I'm gonna say Generico,
that sounds that sounds right, That sounds right. Obviously, Kevin

(54:22):
Owens is super unhappy that Sammy's Ain has decided to
jump back with Roman Reigns with this original blood line,
mostly just for j though, you know, and I know,
like you know, Jay was kind of part of it,
part of the blood line once when you know, once
when they were ultimately abusing Kevin Owens. But you know,

(54:44):
it all started, you know, with with Randy Orton, Randy Orton,
Cody Rhoads, and now with Sammy's Ain. It was only
a matter of time for Sammy, you know, for it
was only a matter of time until he decided to
attack him as well. You know, you recently saw on
w w E SmackDown saying that you know, you deserve everything.
You're a disgusting human being and friend, and like, you know,

(55:09):
Kevin Owens, he has a he has an act for,
you know, for making people seem like they are total
pieces of crap. So you know, he's good in that
kind of aspect. I see these two going at it
WrestleMania forty one. It's gonna be maybe a last man
standing man, I'm just kidding know, maybe an I quit match.
But I definitely think that. You know, both of them

(55:30):
are looking for a fighting spot. They're both looking for
storylines right now. Samy Zay was kind of you know,
has been you know, I think recently he beat durackets Tire.
I think I'm not too sure, you know, finally got
that monkey off his back. He needs a new direction.
He needs a new direction, and so does Kevin Owens
after you know, lose after losing the Cody Roads at

(55:51):
Saturday Nights main event, also lost at the Word Rumbo
in that ladder match, and he got beaten the hell
out of it.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
Was crazy. But you know, he needs a new spot
as well.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
And you know, Kevin Owens I right now his contract
with WWE. It ended early twenty twenty five. There has
been a report that there is a handshake agreement, but
just a handshake agreement. You know, Lord only knows sometimes,
you know, most of those things ultimately.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
Like fall through. But you know, it was interesting to
kind of see this rivalry be you know, reunited. You know,
I am a little you know, I'm a little cynic.
I'm a cynical about it.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
You know, I think ultimately, if Kevin Owens decides to
leave w WE, he's worked with three of the guys
he's most closest with, you know, with with Orton Rhodes
and also you know sammy' zain, his best friend, Kevin
Owens leaving WWE, it wouldn't be a huge shocker, you know,

(56:51):
it really honestly wouldn't be a shocker because just the
way he's kind of been handled recently, Like he's been
just like full like you know balls, so the like
just this absolute like mongrel, this absolute like hate machine
who wants to you know, take down all the enemies
of Roman Reigns and you know, be against them, you know,
and you know, why would you want to put a

(57:13):
man like Roman Reigns back into you know, back into power.
But if this is a way for him leaving w WE,
this would probably be the best way to do it.
Like I mentioned before, you work with three of your
best friends. You you know, you put it on matches,
one hell of a match after another. You know you're
gonna get you know, you're gonna get yours, You're gonna

(57:34):
get your contract. He was actually shopping around, you know,
aw actually did make you know, they made a call
to Kevin Owens. They give they gave him an offer,
Uh he gave it to WWE, asking to match.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
It or better, and uh, you know, w W basically
said no.

Speaker 1 (57:51):
So you know, this could definitely one thousand and ten
percent be Kevin Owens leaving the w w E. I personally,
I feel like I.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
I think he'd be great anywhere he winds up.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
And I know that, you know, he said in an
interview that if him and then him and w W
E would all if they ultimately you know, if they
didn't see idye and they you know, they part with
the part ways. He said that he would be absolutely
you know happy the time he had here. You know
every you know, every moment, every relationship he's made.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
And you know, he was in NXT. He was young
when he came to w WE.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
You know now he's kind of getting older more or
less now he seems less and less and less like
a WWE champion. Sucks, and it sucks to say, but
you know, you have Cody Rhoads finishing his story. You
have him not losing anybody the caliber of Kevin Owens. Honestly,

(58:50):
I don't really know anybody who could basically be have
be the right fit to be thrown Cody Roads, unless
it's like the Rock or something like that, and in
that case, that's kind of bowl bs.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
But you know, and then Jay usso he's over with
the fans like super bad right now.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
I don't know how long he's going to hold onto
the championship before he loses it, but it would kind
of make no sense if like he lost it within
the first like three to six months. So you know,
so Kevin Owens would once again wait for almost a
half a year for another title shot, which is awful.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Which is terrible.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
That's a that's a long time, you know, And and
he's not even guaranteed that he's not even guaranteed that
in Ring of Honor if he goes back to Ring
of Honor, if he goes to ae W, I feel
like right away he could definitely jump into the mix
of being like the Ring of Water world champion right
off the bat. Definitely aw World champion.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
I could see it. I could definitely one thousand and
ten percent see it. Kevin Owens.

Speaker 1 (59:51):
He has a lot of friends also on AW as
well that he would probably you know, hey, why not,
I'm gonna work with them until I hang out my boots.
It would definitely be you know, kind of a push.
If Kevin Owens did leave WWE, he's, you know, you're
kind of like on the you know, the face of
the wrestling organization in WWE. You know, but Kevin Owens

(01:00:14):
something that he really hasn't been able to do that
he used to do when he was younger, you know,
that fight Owens fight mentality. I even but this is
my opinion, a thousand and ten percent. I hated how
he's doing. You know, he's he's posting on Instagram, he's
going live and he's just you know, halfway crying, like
you know, like the storyline aspect of it, like because

(01:00:36):
Kevin Owens could do it, so WWE is like, yeah,
that's definitely, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
That's this is what we're gonna do.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
But most of the time I like Kevin Owens, Like
he cuts promos inside the ring and then he invites
people to come out and fight.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
I would love that.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
But if he left AW, I feel like it would
be kind of like a Brad Hart situation, leaving the
WWF and going to WCW.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
How there's already too much talent on there.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
I really honestly don't see how any of his storylines
would truly fit in like maybe he finds a way
to kind of feud with MJF right off the bat.
Maybe he's, uh, maybe he's a hidden armor in you know,
in the Death Riders or something like that. I could
see storylines, but I don't know. I just feel like

(01:01:21):
he's happy with the WWE and w and whenever he
he's in a storyline, much like a credit baron Corbin Too,
you know, it doesn't matter if he comes off as
a you know, as a jerk or you know, you
know you're gonna love to hate him and then you're
gonna you're gonna love to love him. So that's something
that Kevin Owens Definitely if he leaves WWE, I feel
like it would be a huge mistake by ww for

(01:01:42):
not trying to come up with some kind of different
contract obligation or anything like that. But because like I said,
United States Championship, I could definitely see that Intercontinental Championship definitely,
absolutely one thousand and ten percent. But you know, based
on you know, the whole thing with his Universal Championship
run and Goldberg where Goldberg should have lost to him

(01:02:05):
to put to put Owens over, I feel like his
character would kind of be lost a little bit, but.

Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
You know, anything could happen. You know, you could have
a refurbished you know.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
I would never would have thought Jay Ussa would be
this big when he started doing this whole main event
mantra with the whole yeat thing. I didn't think it
was gonna be this big or successful. Look at where
it is now, you know, and it's definitely. No, it's
definitely the future of w w E. And if Kevin
Owens finds his way out of a you know, so
much out of the picture, I feel like he could

(01:02:37):
definitely you know, he has the charisma he has, you know,
he has the wrestler mentality where he'd be like, you
know what, I don't like it, but I'm gonna go
out there and do you know, I'm gonna do what
I'm gonna do best, which is uh, which is fight
fight Owens fighting man. But yeah, I definitely think this
is gonna be a nice WrestleMania forty one match. Like
I said, I can see like a false count anywhere.

(01:02:58):
And when it's all set and done and whatever Kevin
Owens decides to do, stay with w W leave WWE.
He's literally got the work with its closest friends that
like arguably the biggest pay per views the pls, you know,
for a nice little you know, for a nice little departure,
you know what I mean. But you know, I'm excited
to see this match. I think that these two guys

(01:03:18):
could tear the house down. People might think that this
might this is not a way for Sammy's a to
fight Kevin Owens more or less like maybe a way
for Rand Orton kind of come back and you know,
kind of pay revenge to Rand. You're in and uh,
you know, get a little bit of a retribution for
Sammy's ain.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
But it'd be it'd be interesting, all.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Right, guys, So hey, do not go anywhere. Fifth and
final segment. Gonna wrap this up pretty quick here. I
am way over time apologize. We got petsa Alcedo Mido
has been unleashed in w WE. I give a little
bit of hot takes on him when he first started
in WWE, how I ultimately thought his character could be successful.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Turns out it would have been awful. E would have
went down my road.

Speaker 1 (01:04:01):
So yeah, we're gonna talk about the legend demand the
myth Pencil Simi when we come back. So he do
Not go anywhere, And welcome back to the GSMC Wrestling

(01:05:24):
Lori Podcast, brought to you go to GSMC Sports Network.
I'm your favorite wrestling fan here, Eric Rederig is Every
Monday night, we talk about the greatest thing in the world,
professional wrestling on the GSMC Sports Network eight pm, seven Time,
eleven pm Eastern. And yeah, so make sure you guys,
Superman punched that like a subscriber into the show. Without
further ado, we got our fifth and final segment. We're

(01:05:46):
gonna talk about Penta.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
I'll sit all minor unleashed in the WWE. He's been
he's been a star. He's been a star.

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
He's definitely he has come around of being somebody who
is international, loved all around the world of professional wrestling
coming to WWE, and he fits like perfect. He feels
like that's the only way I could ultimately like say,
how he's doing a WWE right now. He's undefeated, you know,
and despite being linked to Ray Phoenix an attack team,

(01:06:15):
you know, he's a solo act in ww And when
after he debuted January thirteenth, that on that first episode
of Money nightra it was magical.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
It was great. You know, his family was in the crowd.

Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Everybody was all rouled up finding that this you know,
this amazing lucid or this badass is coming to WWE.
And you know, you saw it inside the ring immediately.
Just this style, the different style he brings inside the ring.
It's not more or less that WWE style. You know,
it's a little international Luca underground, but then again, it

(01:06:45):
could be independent, it could be literally any style, and
he he makes it look good. Obviously, the man's undefeated,
and I feel like an Intercontinental Championship match in the
future definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
Right but right now, I feel like, you know, bron
Breaker and aj style is you know, kind of a
little hinted, you know, here and there, and he's just
having so much fun. Like look at him, you know,
with George Kittle.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
George Kittle is a is an avid wrestling fan, and
you know, Pentagon looks like he's a fan of his
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
But it just seems like he's having fun into WWE.

Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
It seems like when he's wrestling all these other guys,
the guys definitely love they respect Pentagon, and you know,
oh my god, this moment at the Word Rumble.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Where these were the first two people. It was magical.
It was magical. You know, Pensa Ray, Mystereo.

Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
Absolute badasses in terms of Lucha wrestling, future Hall of famers,
if they're not already in the Hall of Fame or
anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Pencil was in the war Rumble for quite some time.

Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
You know, he eliminated a couple of He had a
couple of good eliminations. He also made a couple of
other wrestlers look good, made them look strong. And that's
something to WWE that I thought, I ultimately thought wasn't
gonna be something that he dabbled into.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
And you know when I mean that.

Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
You know, when he wrestles inside the ring, I was
expecting more of a darker, dominant presence. But no, this
guy like you and he gets attacked. He like, he
sells the moves, he sells the moves, he looks. You know,
he made Chad Gable, well, Chad Gable's already great, but
you know, he made every single person he stepped in
the ring with he made them look great. He made
them look like they are legitimate contenders in the world

(01:08:28):
of professional wrestling. And you know, I definitely you know,
when he came in. I bet you there was something
that was said into contract negotiations and he's like, you
know what, I don't want to just come in here
and just start smashing people. You know, nobody wants to
see squash matches of the wrestling fans, the ww universe
wanted to see how this guy can hang inside the

(01:08:50):
ring with some of the best. That's the reason why
his first match was against Chad Gable. It was kind
of equivalent of how, hey, your first match is going
to be against an Olympic gold medalist, like, you know,
like Kurt Angle. You know, we're gonna see what you do.
We're gonna see what you have to offer inside the
wrestling ring. We don't want to see, you know, three
minutes and five minute matches, this guy. These guys, every
single time they fight with Panza, they put on some

(01:09:12):
great They put on a good show. They tell a story,
They tell a story inside the ring. You know, whether
if it's a you know, a high flying or intricrinte innovative, intricate,
innovative moves that Pansa Asceto Mao is definitely capable of.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
They're doing it right. They're doing it right. And I
was I was I was kind of hot. I gotta
be honest, I was kind of hot on it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
I did not want to see him just falter to
the l WO. I did not want to see that,
you know, for him coming to w w W, which
it had, he hasn't, you know. He's kind of you know,
he's kind of staying clear of that. When he did
get attacked by lud Big Kaiser and and Pete Dunn.
I kind of be honest, I was getting a little
h I was getting a little antie.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
I was getting a little antie, and I was like,
oh great, this is when the l WO comes in
the same pans. I'm just kidding, no, but.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
I definitely thought maybe that was gonna be a spot
happy to find out that, you know, he's still on
his own, still on his own, he's still a solo act.
And when his brother Ray comes in, it's gonna be
so freaking awesome. It's gonna be so sick. It's gonna
be so sick. Pensa, you know, had this to say,
and I quote, I am very comfortable because you know,
he said this in an interview with Shack s h

(01:10:24):
a K Wrestling. He said, I'm very comfortable because pens
on myself in the ring is you know, more aggressive,
more violent, more of a different style around the world.
Because he was asked about, you know, kind of being
a solo act in w w E. You know a
lot of people were expecting like a darker Luchador where
he wasn't gonna say much, or he was going to

(01:10:46):
kind of be like, you know, like his like his
first Sonny, he's he's a mystery. I guess he's never
really been seen like unmasked or something like that, and uh,
you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
I honestly did not expect him to connect with the
WWE universe that that, you know, that quick because every
single time with luchador debuts or wrestlers in a WWE,
you know, someone in creative back in WWE headquarters is like, oh,
let's just have them pile up with the other Latino
wrestlers and they can you know, be like a high
flying group that will get no chances, you know, like

(01:11:19):
it's I did not want to see that for Panza.
Maybe that's the reason subconsciously why I was thinking.

Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
I was like, dude, they better not just let.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
This guy go to the LWO or you know, just
you know, kind of just band o banding together, put
them together, you know what I mean. But no, and
it's been great. It's been great. I feel like it's
a I feel like it's perfect. Definitely, when Ray Phoenix
is going to be available, he will land in WWE.
Penza had this to say, he said, but when my
brother is with me with the tag team, it's different,

(01:11:48):
more dynamic, more special, more high flying. This is a difference,
but I feel comfortable with both. Once when he was
asked about being a singles act, way is he more
you know, is he excited for you know, does he
want to be a tag team?

Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Does he want to stay a singles act? And he's
right now, he's just absolutely open to it.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Definitely, the Lucha Brothers have one tag team championship all
across the globe. You know, Petsa, Definitely, he's a legitimate
international man of mystery. He's definitely reversed the curse gimmick.
You know, people who have the you know, Penta atsetto Mido.

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
You know, I guess.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
The first man who had that name suffered from a
career ending a neck injury, while all the while another
one was fossily accused of murder and others. Others had
Lackluster's career and he's I think that's I think there
was ten. I think I think no, I think he's
number nine. I could be wrong. I could be wrong,

(01:12:43):
but you know, so far he's been he's been kicking ass,
taking names. W W is lucky to have him, us
as wrestling fans are lucky to see him, you know,
just be somewhere where they can ultimately extract all the
talent from you know, from him, see if he could
you know, makes big pls which fard it has every
single match.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
You know what I'm doing sometimes when I'm doing research
and i'm rewatching Money Night Raw, you know, I'll watch
the first couple of seconds of a match, see how
it's going.

Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
I'm like, okay, I'm gonna fast forward it. I do
not fast forward through any Penta matches. I don't I
want to watch it. I feel obligated to watch it.
I don't want to miss a thing. I don't want
to miss it. And you know, and just that effect
that he has on wrestling fans is you know, I
felt hard for Pensa. I'm a huge Pansa fan. Now, well,

(01:13:31):
I've always kind of, you know, obviously dabbling within the
world of wrestling, but he just, oh god, so beautiful,
so perfect him into Wwe can't wait for more Panza,
you know, obviously, you know, the man of mystery of
international mystery success. Hopefully when his brother comes in. Oh,
I can't wait for Ray Phoenix to get there. It's
gonna be great, It's gonna be cool. All right, guys,
