Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tonight, we are discussing Alien Earth season one, episode eight.
The finale titled Ah Real Monsters. I'm gil here with
my friend Tony from Hack the Movies say Hello Hello.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Wait that wasn't the title.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
It was the Real Monsters.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Oh, you gotta be real excited.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
I was just like, wait, did they really take a
reference to ah Real Monster?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
That would have been a slightly more clever title, which
would mean it was at all clever. If anybody has
been following us in the beginning of the season, you
might be wondering where Daniel is. He had to return
to his home planet of Kepler twenty two B. See
if anybody gets that reference. So he's not here tonight.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Ah, poor guy. I hope, I hope. I hope the
text was to his liking in this finale.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
I think if he watches this finale, the text will
probably be his biggest issue with it. So, Okay, it's
been an eight episode journey. We finally got to the end,
and I'm dying to know as much as I was
dying to know.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
After the first episode. What did you think about it? Tonight?
Was it worth a journey?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
I was hoping it would be a little bit more
self contained, just in case they didn't get a second season.
But I liked it and I'm excited to see where
it goes if it continues, I'm pumped. I love that Cliffhanger.
I was like, all right, I need to see this.
I need to see more of this.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
It is funny you say self contained, and I couldn't
help but think when they were like, all our communications
are down, the wires underwater are down, We're completely isolated,
and I'm like, good, so this won't affect the continuity
or anything.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
That's the thing.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Whatever they're doing is destined to fail at some point
because it can't succeed if you're in the same continuity.
But I'm here for the journey. I really want to
see where it goes. This episode got my blood rush,
and I really really enjoyed it. Even if some of
it is kind of ridiculous and stupid, I still enjoyed
(02:06):
the ride.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah, which what you just said has basically been my
review of every episode. But to be honest, I feel
like the kind of ridiculous aspect of the show is
growing and growing, and there's areas where I was giving
benefit of the doubt, like boy Cavalier isn't so dumb.
He's just letting them have total free reign. He must
have some contingency in place anything. I have to be honest.
(02:32):
After Somenight's episode, I was really like, I'm not feeling
it at all. I was like, I have to apologize
to Daniel. I feel like he was right. I DMed
Adam right before we started streaming, and I was like,
I want to formally submit an apology for how hard
I defended this show.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Well, look, you must be so upset and so distracted
by this. Probably maybe that's why you forgot to mention
super chats.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Even though I reminded you before the tree true the.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Review portion, we fumbled the super chat and make almost
every time.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
And I have a checklist, and I literally have a
checklist right here, and every time you say that, I'm like,
I should add that to the checklist.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Say it and I'm just like, oh, he's just going
right into the review part.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Well, you know what they say in space, no one
can hear you scream, but they can hear you superchat. Yes,
and that's not enough. I'm gonna double down on it.
If you want to hear us whisper sweet nothing's in
your ear anything within reason, folks. This is the Internet,
after all. Send in a super chat and we'll say anything.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
If you don't like that I like the show, you
can pay to make me say the show was bad.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
If you wanted to, you can.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I could be like, Gil, I really really like the
action in this, and then you could pay it to
make me go Gil, the action was bad.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I wish it was more gooder you could pay me
to do that.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I did have an idea at one point that it
would be fun to do movie reviews where you write
a review where you liked it and one where you
didn't like it, and it just becomes to choose your
own adventure, because I think most of the time people
just want to hear their own opinions sort of backed up.
So I'm like, you know what, I'll just be honest
with the audience and I'll just give you whatever you want.
I guess that's the opposite of being honest. But if
(04:20):
I reflect back on what why did it lose me?
This episode especially, and I think there were cracks in
the facade last episode two, and actually a couple of
episodes ago. I don't know if you remember, but at
the end, I asked you, Tony, if we were if
we weren't covering this show week two week, would you
still be watching? And then you answered You're like, yeah,
I'd watched, and I was like, yeah, yeah, and I
kind of didn't really give my own answer.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
But going back, if we weren't covering this, you would
have just jumped off board.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
I might have. I might have. Honestly.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
The main issue for me is just what is the
hook that keeps me interested in watching? And right now
there's really no character for me to latch onto that
I'm identifying with where I'm like, here is a carry
on Wendy. I'm hoping for Wendy to succeed and overthrowing
the lab, but there's people in her way. I'm not
(05:12):
really hoping for that, and there's nobody in her way,
so there's no like objective and then obstacles, and there's
no tension that comes from that.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Also, like her like motivations are unclear right now because
she's starting to reject humanity and siding with Zeno morph,
which again I want to see more of.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
I like that, but I.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Do think it came a little late into the show
where she suddenly had that heel turn as it's called
and wrestling. Uh, but I'm enjoying it, so I'm allowing it.
But yeah, I can say it did come a little late.
They should have sprinkled it a little bit early. Maybe
they were trying to I'm more when it comes to Wendy,
I'm more confused about how she got the power to
(05:51):
psychically interact with other machines.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
The alien.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
I'm fine with the alien, fine with she's using sounds
and stuff, but just how she was How's that even
in her making her able to do that? Why is
everyone so confused by it? That part still bothers me.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yeah, and the fact that they witnessed her doing that
several times, But at no point has anyone thought, maybe
we should have some kind of contingency to deal with that. Yeah,
you know, but I guess they don't have any contingencies
to deal with anything at all. So yeah, So to
your point, these Lost Boys have kind of become the
(06:28):
focal point of the show, which is a bold thing
to do because, like you said, their motivations are pretty murky.
We don't really know who's human who to what extent
are they still feeling things that a regular human does,
so it's an interesting and bold choice to do that.
I don't know if they've entirely pulled it off, and
I feel like you don't necessarily need to identify with
(06:49):
a character right away, Like I always think of succession,
where people say that characters are all a holes. You
don't like any of them, but at least they make
them very entertaining.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
They're witty and funny, and then over time.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
You start to peel back the layers and you start
to see you can start to empathize with them more.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
I mean, gil two of my favorite shows is Seinfeld
and Trailer Park Boys, and all the characters are there
are total assholes. Yeah, but it's funny every single le
multiple times.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And that I almost feel like that's the show.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Noah Hally wanted to make more of a satire where, yes,
it's a corporation where everybody's stupid and they've been able
to skate by, but now there's a xenomorph here their
stupidity is finally going to undo them. But I feel
like that only works if it's funny, and sometimes the
show is funny. Remember the defecation by the sheep last
episode that was funny.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Which I can't believe we were wrong and Adam didn't
use that in his thumbnail.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I really thought Adam was going to use that in
his thumb.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
To be fair, I think he would have used it,
But then once we said it, he just couldn't stomach
the idea that you and I were right about something
I wasn't gonna do that. I will say, not to
be totally negative. Stuff you pointed out that you're enjoying,
I'm also enjoying, Like I think the things that keep
me interested in the show are still the curiosity. I
(08:08):
always want to see, what are the aliens going to
do next? What's the I was calling an octopus, Now
I'm calling it the alien. It's kind of like saying
alien or an Australian accent. The alien couldn't wait to
see what he was gonna say once he was in
a person.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
We didn't get to see.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
That, although I did like because throughout the episode they
keep showing the dead guy from the previous episode and
I'm like, yeah, I deal with that, and then at
the end I'm like, ah.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I was like, this is weird that we keep cutting
back to this and I kept expecting I'm like, is
he gonna suddenly just sit up and he's alive again,
and like that makes no sense, But then suddenly it
made so much sense.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
By the end, I was let down.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
We didn't get a rematch, but I'm excited for season two,
a rematch between the alien and the alien.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
I want to see.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah, I don't know that he's if he's gonna do
that rematch, he's not ready yet. I don't think he's
picked the proper vessel yet. Oh, if he's a human
on this planet can go up against the Xenomorph.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
It is not Arthur.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Speaking of Xenomorph, Can I just bet you real quick?
Speaker 4 (09:13):
It was actually kind of cool to just see moments
of the Xenomorph just walking around. It's like this weird
thing that we've never really gotten before. I think, like,
what have we ever gotten to just see the alien
just casually walk around for long periods of time.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, I had the exact same thought. It's interesting to
watch it just wandering the forest, kind of sniffing Arthur's body.
It sees a crab. It's just like looking at it,
and I wonder if it looks at it, And He's like,
that looks kind of like I kind of relate to
this thing.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, but I was thinking of like the other man,
Like we see aliens walking around, We see them by
themselves occasionally, but not like just hanging out, either.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Stopping their prey or they're in attack mode.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Yeah yeah, or they're about to attack. Something scary is happening.
I'm thinking maybe Alien Covenant. There was like that white one.
We got to see it like walk around outside for
a bit, but that's it.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
That was kind of cool to see.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Although this size of the aliens bothering me because it
should be like full grown by now, but when it's
a man in the suit, it's the right size. But
the CGI model, for whatever reason, in some shots is
a little tinier than it should be, Like when it
was attacking Boy and all the soldiers. I was actually
(10:28):
going through the trailer to come up with my thumbnail,
and I saw, I like saw the one little clip they.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Had of him jumping off buoying over the soldiers.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
I'm like, why is it like four feet smaller than
it was?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Because there are two xenomorphs, right, There's the little CGI
one and then the bigger.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
It's it's I feel like at this point, like usually
they're full grown within like a day, really, But the
thing is like the suit actor is big, but the
CGI model is just a little too small.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Not by the way, not in every shot. Some shots
it is the right size, but it's a CG model.
Other times it's just a little too tiny. So that
was throwing me off. It gave me a Godzilla ninety
eight vibes.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
If you ever watch god Zilla ninety eight, he's just
changing size throughout the whole movie.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I like the difference in criticism.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I'm like, you know, the character development, there's something to
sink your teeth into the CGI elien.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
It should have been an inch taller.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
It was finding all the other episodes, like the first
two episodes, it seemed like the same thing.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
This one, I'm like, why is it so tiny?
Speaker 3 (11:28):
But just for this moment, well, do we want to
just run through the episode?
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, let's go through it all right.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
So we're doing a little bit of cleanup from last episode.
I stick all the hybrids into a holding cell, which
Adam Warrens is not built to contain hybrids. Really, they
can walk out whenever they want. Yeah, but let's just
put him in there for a little while. Then Wendy
gets the idea. So wait a minute, hold on, this
door is electronic. I can control electronics. The door is
(11:57):
preventing me from leaving control electronics.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Hold on, I'm thinking.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
And then eventually she gets the idea to start hunting
the place because Nibs says we're ghosts.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Nibs who is alive? So she was just stunned in
the last one.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, that's what I kept wanting to say whenever Wendy
and Joe are arguing about this, I want to be like,
she was gonna kill the person he just knocked her out, Yeah,
which I understand she probably wouldn't accept that argument, but
at least make the argument.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It gets me really frustrated with Joe.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Also, I'm glad that they reminded us how young Nibs was,
because I forgot she's like basically, she's like four or five.
And I'm like, oh, that's why she's been acting the
way she is. For some reason, I keep expecting her
to be a team like Wendy was before she went
onder her Like, oh no, she's like a lot younger
than them. I'm like, now I feel bad that I
was making fun of her the whole season.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I feel pretty bad about it.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
What an idiot. She has the mind of a four
year old Tony.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
I forgot because they're only in the first episode, like briefly.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
You don't really get to.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Spend time with them until they switch bodies. But she's
still alive. She's full on murder mode. Wendy is full
on murder mode, like Wendy because she tells him like,
you chose them, and he's just like my friends, He's like,
I think she means humans. I think she's really starting
to just reject her humanity. And for Nibs, that's good
(13:26):
because she's been struggling with the whole time, and she's like,
all right, fuck it, I am just this new thing.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I'm gonna kill all of you.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Yeah, which I kept trying to think back and maybe
it's my fault, but I'm like, what was so bad
that happened to Wendy that like has so turned her
against all humanity? And I guess it's just there is
a reason, right, they killed a child effectively, and maybe
they moved their mind into a robot, but we don't
(13:52):
really know what the procedure was. Maybe they just killed
a kid and essentially duplicated its mind and now this
is a new thing that's been created.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
That's a pretty bad thing to do.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
It's fairly theoretical, though, so I never find myself with
Wendy where I'm like, yeah, kill all the humans.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
I also think there's manipulation from the alien that'd be interesting.
I this alien, like, I know, like it looks like
she's controlling it. I know there's people in mind like
is the alien supposed to be scary? A bunch of
people that just are just shitting on it because it's
Disney and FX and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
They're just like, was it the alien supposed to be scary?
Why do they make the alien? Week?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
I'm like this, like the alien the whole point of
all those movies that you can't control the alien. I'm like,
the alien wouldn't be doing this if it didn't think
it could benefit at some point. So I think was
that she's not like organic. It's like, all right, maybe
I can make it like some kind of trues, but
at some point that alien's gonna take over.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
And that's what I'm excited for.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Wendy's plan just backfires and the aliens like, all right,
we're gonna be got enough eggs now fuck you buy.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yeah, it's interesting because early on it was treated I
mean for about one episode it was mysterious, what is
this thing she keeps hearing? What's this connection she has
with the Xenomorph? And I was waiting for an explanation
for why only Wendy's been able to kind of tap
into that, And I guess we haven't really gotten any
more information on that.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Whatever, the same thing, whatever the reason is for her
communicating with electronics, it has to be the same thing.
What do they call it in comic books, technopathy? Now
she has technopathy like Mister Terrific and Superman, but I
don't think they used that word in that movie.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
So she has that.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
And I guess because they're biomechanical, they are like themselves
kind of androids. Maybe they never really dwell into that
too much, I guess, except for Prometheus, where they're like
we made them but whatever, right.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
And then even in one of the comics, I remember.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
They talked about the black goo as if it was
almost like nanoparticles, like some kind of a super AI,
which is which is interesting.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
But the less about black goo the better.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, that surprisingly that didn't come up this episode. I thought,
I'm glad.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I'm glad ruined Romulus for me.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Fuck well, it isn't just the hybrids in prison. It's
also Joe and Marrow, which I thought was a I
was on board for a fun team up because it's
kind of like Joe with the only masculine character in
the show, and just there is a little bit of
fun where Joe tries to stop him from killing someone
and he's like, don't touch me.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
I love that they put his arm in a big
metal thing. I was like, just cut his arm off,
just cut his arm off.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It does seem like these people are very like uh
like the hybrids for example, they are out of control.
They're killing people, and it's like, let's put them all
together in like a big cell. It's like for some
reason they treat everybody with kid gloves, not just the kids,
everybody including Morrow.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Well by like, can we talk about the security force
on this island? Sure, they're the worst. They all have
gun like that's why one thing. I'm like, oh no,
like a bunch of aliens, this would make sense, but
it's just one alien.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
It doesn't blend well with the green environment. You can
see it.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
It's loud, it's making sound and it's just constantly killing them.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
In shooting it Yes, works, shooting it does work.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Yes, it like the Alien Like I know they wanted
to be like the first one and stuffle. It's like, yeah,
those guys didn't have bullets. The guys at Alien three
didn't have But you notice in all the Alien movies
once they have a gun and acid isn't a problem. Uh,
they just go willy nilly with the guns. That's why
you need a bunch of aliens if you have guns.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
And this is the least problematic acid has ever been
because usually when you melt the ground, you flow into
the abyss of space. So here they're on an island,
the acid is really no problem.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
That's why aliens they're just shooting everywhere. Right, The problem
is the acid on them. But like for the ground, the.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Problem is their conservationists, so we can't harm nature. And
if the acid gets on these plants.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Are they using real bullets because they shoot it in
the head and it just bounces off. But these things
aren't that bullet.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
I rewound on that moment twice because I was like,
what just happened? They shot it in the head and
bounced off and then it turned around.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
I don't know if, but we've established that there's like
an electricity thing you could use, and no one's using
it on the pain.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
It also seems like Wendy's instructions to the xenomorphe are
pretty intricate. It's not just go kill people, because when
it finds Dame Sylvia, it kind of.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Like looks at her and like sniffs a little bit.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah, but it's just killing the soldiers automatically unless it's
detecting a threat. So when they have guns, can she
communicate that? Can she say, kill anybody with a gun. Yeah,
that's the last episode it was hide and follow. I
think that's what I said. Now it's hide follow, kill
anybody with a gun, look for boy Cavalier.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
So now she can communicate with it like long range, right,
She's able to give it orders from like the cell.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
It definitely seems like it.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Yeah, yeah, the aliens can do They can communicate psychically
over like distances. But yeah, before it looked like she
had to be like there next to it for it
to hear her, But now she can just do it
remotely almost.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Yeah, And it seems like it would seem like she
wouldn't really have to vocalize, like moving her lips and stuff.
But maybe she's just she's still used to speaking of
the commands.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yeah, I mean the aliens don't either, but they still
go all the time.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Yeah, which I buy.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
If there is a hive mind that connects the xenomorphs
and she's able to tap into networks and they have
some kind of mechanical component to them, Okay, I can
buy that. And it's you know what you were saying
earlier about like a lot of the stuff people are
complaining about, like the xenomorph is supposed to be scary,
Like you've heard my rant about that before. Like it's
just not anymore. We've seen it a billion times.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
There's no what is that thing shrouded in darkness? Like
we know what it is.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Although they made it scary a few times in the show,
especially early on when it was like blending in with things,
there's moments where it is scary, but it's not new,
especially for us.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
So that's why I don't mind seeing it.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
In different environments, even though if it really is goofy
and I think I said the episode the flashback episode,
Oh this is what Alien would look like if it
had a you know, action and guns, and it would
look really stupid. I'm glad it was dark and spooky,
so it actually makes me appreciate the original more.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
But yeah, I mean, come on, this is like the
millionth Alien thing. Let's let's have fun with it. Let's
put it out in a green jungle and see what
it's like exactly.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
That's why I'm like ready for a new angle. And
so Wendy communicating with xenomorphs, controlling them for now, Perhaps
that will flip on her at some point.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
That'd interesting someone someone to watches these movies in the universe.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
No one's really been able to keep a leash on
these things.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yeah, you're watching the season.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Once they get to xenomorph and a cell, you're like,
I'm clad it took care of that.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
It's never gonna escape.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Well, it said Joe and Morrow are to cell together,
and then Wendy starts haunting the facility, so she opens
the door for them. Marrow immediately, I mean, they basically
gave him a gauntlet, so he starts punching the guy
over and over. Joe just barely stops him from killing him,
but Before that, they have a little bit of a
conversation where Marrow is telling Joe how much trouble he's
(21:08):
in now that he has a corporate lung, because he
tells him and a corporation gives you something, you know
what they take and Joe's like everything, everything doesn't even
begin to cover it. And I Marrow has definitely been
my favorite character of the season, and I would have
liked to have seen more of that stuff, Like what
is he sacrificing? Like I always think back to the
(21:28):
one scene where he was really sweaty, and I really
felt that I wanted more Sweatymorrow.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
He definitely sacrificed like time and relationships and whatnot he
had that what was his daughter or his niece or something.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah, I think yeah, I think he said daughter could
be Neare.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, so yeah, I think that's what he's sacrificed. Parts
of his body now sacrifice a lot actually.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
So they get out and Marrow promises he's going to
burn the place to the ground. I do like as
when he was starting to go rogue. I mean this show,
especially early in the season, it was mixing in a
lot of sounds that sounded like they were right off
the Alien soundtrack of the Alien score, this started to
lean back into that again. It had this kind of
(22:11):
like classic sci fi drum, very ominous, which I enjoyed.
I think most of the stuff I enjoyed was definitely
the visual and audio components.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Wait a minute, why didn't the alien just get in
the ocean and swim away.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Well, it's friends with Wendy, right, that's his mom.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I'm saying, I'm just like they could swim.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
We know the alien is the alien trying to escape though.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Yeah, maybe it's just not trying to escape. Maybe there's
something else.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yeah, I mean, I've never watched one of these movies
and billing to the aliens have never been trying to escape.
It's always I'm gonna kill people, drag people to my
queen's nest.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Well, an alien resurrection, they were trying to escape to
make the queen a nasty exactly. Sure, Yeah, but we
know that they can turn into queens.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I would just swim to the nearest main land.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Let's tell you this.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
If it's revealed that there's a second island nearby with
a queen on it, then we can revisit this conversation.
I'll say yeah, right, why didn't he swim away to
the other island. Boy Cavalier visits the kids. Guy's telling
them his story. My father was a drinker.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Yeah, I was ready.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
I'm like, I'm like, I'm just waiting for like the
suddenly like crazy.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Uh, it was interesting. We get some of his backstory.
Dad used to beat him, so he built a synth
when he was six years old. Dad comes home, finds
a synth, since kills his dad, and then as a
boy genius, he wants to run a company, but who's
gonna let a six year old do that? So he
built a front man a synthetic that I guess was
the figurehead. Yes, job was waiting for a little twist
(23:50):
where he's like, I built a synthetic that became my
dad and his.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Name was Kersh Adam.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Oh okay, yeah, yeah, because it's revealed that the one
guy has been a synth though whole time, right Adam. Yeah,
but I thought I think it is implied he made
his dad a synth, right, Yeah, it's just not one
of those too, okay.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah exactly. I was expecting it
to be one of them too, But.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Which is funny because I keep seeing people.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
At least in my comment section, theorize that Kersh was
organic h and I'm like, that didn't make any sense.
But then it's revealed that the other guy was synthetic,
and I'm like, I didn't see that coming.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I just thought he was an asshole, Like, no wonder
he was tolerating so much.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Of that guy's It was funny when Wendy freezes him
and his eyes just keep splitting around the room.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
That was interesting.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Uh yeah, I thought that was interesting. I mean, the
most interesting parts of the show for me are like
the ideas that they raise, and then it's a lot
of times with the execution where it gets less interesting.
Uh yeah, Nibs punches one of the guards to death. Yeah, boy, cavalier.
All the guards on the island are just taken out,
like no problem. But he figured if I just take
(25:03):
one of them with me to a room full of
hybrids that could all squeeze my head like a melon,
no problem, I should be fine.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
One that he was almost about the sacrifice to the alien. Uh.
But also I like that kurse like pointing out it's like, sir,
you're not taking your ADHD medicine. You're irrational, you're impulsive,
but there's like static, so he doesn't get all of it.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Right right, yeah, which it's like, why did you even
need the static? Even if he heard all of that,
as if it would have changed his mind in any way.
Oh yeah, so they killed that guy. Wendy walks out
of the jail and she's like run.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Yeah, and I like this.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
It's like you go here, you get this lady, you
get these guys, you get the soldiers or whatever. And
then she's like, I got someone else, getting boy genial,
so like that's kind of cool. Yeah, Oh, can we
talk about sorry, all non essential personnel. I've been evacuated, guys,
do you know who's essential personnel? Dude who sprays the walls?
(26:06):
We never figured out who that dude is and what
he's doing. Almost every episode has had a guy in
a big hazmat suit just spraying walls.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Well, I have a theory on that, Okay, I think
he couldn't hear that suit is real thick evacuate.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
He's like, why is everybody going?
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I assume there be a thing in but in that
flashes that goes I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
The soldiers don't interrupt him They're like, oh, oh, oh,
it's just the wall spraying guy.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
And they just leave him like I guess he is essential.
They don't tell him to evacuate.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I don't know why you would assume he would have
like a radio in his helmet. That's far too logical
for this facility.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Maybe because the first Alien movie they had radios in
their helmets.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I'm sorry, I'm just expecting them to.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Have Oh that doesn't get invented for another year.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Oh, okay, radio with the helmet.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
This technology the the alien boy Cavalier gets a great
idea to put it in Joe because he says he
wants someone weak, and I was like, take your pick.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Anybody on the side. He's say, where's Arthur. Oh, we
already used him. I forgot.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
I really thought it was going to go into him,
like I was since that whole scene. I'm like, Oh,
it's going into him. It's gonna be a whole thing.
And then it's not.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah, I thought it was going to and I was
looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Was he constantly kicking and punching it.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Why aren't they ever trying to like squish it?
Speaker 3 (27:35):
It runs around a lot. But I for sure, thought Wendy.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
At least once she threw it against the wall from
this measure, she was going to stomp on it.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
She hid it and winded it. I guess it has lungs.
I don't know how this thing works, and like.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Just step on it, step on it.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Stab I mean, as much as I don't want eyeballs
being stabbed, someone else could stab it.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
I wouldn't stab it, but someone needs to stab that thing.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Well, and Wendy wouldn't have killed it because to her,
aliens are all better than people, right.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
At least that's honest.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
But that one tried to eat her brother, but.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Well, now she hates he's one of them.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah, because I don't know this is I don't know
how you interpret the title of the episode, the Real Monsters.
I have kind of a hot take on that.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I think that.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
What they're saying is that maybe people are the monsters
and not the monster the aliens.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
WHOA, that's never been done before except every alien.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Oh yeah, you're right, damn it.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
There's even that line in Aliens where she goes, I
don't know who's worse, Burke, you are those goddamn things.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
You don't see them screwing each other over for a pond.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
You know, I think my first exposure to this idea
of like we're the real monsters, it's burned into my
memory when I was a kid. You might know which
one this is, but I saw a Godzilla movie. I
don't know which one, and it was like the last
I caught the last minute of it on TV, and
it was a guy looking at Godzilla just destruction across
the whole city and he says, you know what, maybe
(29:01):
we're all a little Godzilla, or we all have a
little Godzilla inside us.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
And I remember thinking that is so dumb, Like that
was when I first learned.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
That was when I first learned the concept of like
on the nose and when something is so obvious, why
it doesn't work that well?
Speaker 3 (29:18):
And thirty years later, now it all comes full circle.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Someone is sorry, I don't want to read the poor chat,
but someone is implying that it's Godzilla two thousand, which
I haven't watched in a bit, so you might be right,
I cause I'm trying to think back that could be
pretty much a bunch of Godzilla movies, so it's hard
to like land on the specific one. It's definitely not
the one where the guy staring out the window and
(29:43):
he has a connection with Godzilla.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Godzilla blows him up for no reason. It's definitely not that.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Well, yeah, I think I would have remembered that.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, that one's great because like, oh, he's having a moment.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
He remembers him before he was Gotzilla when he's just
a dinosaur.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
They're gonna have a moment that God's kill the guy.
It's awesome.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
That's what the if the alien walked up to Wendy
and she was like, hello, my son, and.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
He just ripped the head off something that would have
been cool. Well, after Wendy saves Joe, they finally hash
things out. They have a little talk. You shot my friend,
Well she was gonna kill my friend. But she's one
of them. You're one of them, And they had.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
This whole argument and I don't know anything. Where do
you weigh in on this?
Speaker 1 (30:29):
Are xenomorph's better than humans because they're more honest?
Speaker 4 (30:35):
I mean, what fucking I mean? Most living organisms can't lie.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
So it reminds me of the Norm MacDonald joke about
Bill Cosby's Like, the worst part is the hypocrisy. The
worst part is the dishonesty, and I'm like, they also
eat people, use them to lay eggs to you if
you were made out of biomatter.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
I love that joke because he was making fun of
Patton Oswald or someone saying that.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Norm goes no, I think the first.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
But I think the worst thing he did was this,
followed by the lying and scheming.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
The scheming, and somewhere down on that list.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
Someone's aid hypocrisy first, Like, Nope, that's not the worst thing.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
I guess they're honest and whatnot. But I mean, she's
eating people, Like why isn't she like and we also
have to liberate ants, just regular ants because they don't lie.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
It's like, okay, whatever, lady, and you fall.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
So you've met two of them. You've met two xenomorphs. Yeah,
and one of them you've been grooming since childhood. You've
been manipulating it to your way of thinking. You really
don't have a big sample.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Se capitated the other one right now.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
You could say she's a dumb kid, and she is. Yeah,
Joe's an adult. I guess he's having a hard time
putting his thoughts together into a coherent sentence. Maybe he's scared,
so you can justify that. So it's like everything on screen,
you could justify it makes sense. But why am I
watching it? I don't really like Wendy at this point.
(32:07):
She doesn't like me, to be fair, she started it
because I'm human.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
I don't like Joe. I just like there's no outcome
I'm hoping for in the scene.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
And my only concern is I think the show might
think it's being thought provoking there where I'm like ours
even know more is better than us, I don't know,
And I'm like the fact that humans are dishonest. It's
not a new thing that you came up with where
I never thought of that before.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
So I think that.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
One scene kind of encapsulates what's bothering me about the show. Okay,
but like the scene before that with the eyeball running
around and stuff, what I'm enjoying and what I'm not Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Uh yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
I mean, I just think inevitably the aliens are just
gonna take over or try to take over, So I'm
just enjoying it, like people just thinking they're in charge.
Boy thought he was in charge now when Doy he
thinks he's in yards and the aliens are just like,
we're gonna overthrow all of you.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
And thinks she's in charge.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
With charge, I.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Will her company will continue to think they're in charge
until they're bought out by Walmart in four hundred years,
according to a deleted scene and Alien resurrection.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Are we calling deleted scenes cannon? Now I have to
go back and reduce We.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Will always consider that canning.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Wendy kills all of Joe's friends finally, or at least
one of them, right, because the plant grabs her, and
then they will only shoot at aliens when there's a
person in the way.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Uh, the plant monster finally did something.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Now that we know what it does.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
It's like, why didn't it attack anyone before? When it
was just sitting in that room. I couldn't really captured it.
Maybe thought there was too many people around, But there's
too many people here.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
I can't give away my trick and people will know
what I do. I squeeze people.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
I was gonna say, I'm like, it could have like
ian everyone in that room. Oh they were all synthetic.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Oh yeah, yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
So I guess the synthetics.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Yeah, and any humans it came into contact with earlier
could have also been earlier in its lifespan. It could
be like the Xenomore where it's got to grow up
a little bit before it starts killing.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Yeah. Mostly it was synthetics around it.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Yeah, that's that's what it is.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Because whatever there's a person nearby, I think the little
tentacle comes out.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
We saw that in the one flashbackup, So that was
the thing. The little tentacle came out of the plant
and like was touching the thing right rab the guy.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
So yeah, now we know it.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
It just it wraps around people and just squeezes them
to death.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Yeah, which was a little like, oh that's it. But
I will say the movement was was cool, like yeah,
kind of think a magic carpet like in the background.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
I like that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Also I assumed that the aliens acid would be done
by now, but they cut back to that dead alien
and the tables tilted and there's this new acid coming
out of it melting and like I think hasn't cooled
off yet.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
It's been like weeks.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
It would be that hot still unless they're keeping it.
I don't know if they raised the temperature so it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
We'll see that that's the fun part of the show.
It's like looking ato.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
All the little like cracks in the alien mythology we've
never explored before. What does it look like just wandering
around the forest. How long does acid pour out of it?
Speaker 2 (35:15):
M hmm.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
I like that they didn't release the flies because those
are the one things that will kill them.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, because they eat metal.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Yeah, they're like, uh, yes, we're the real botsters.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
We're gonna let them all out, except for at those flies.
They'll eat our heads.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Let's leave them in there.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Which is kind of like, uh, war are the World's right?
Wasn't it revealed that the aliens eat data.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Something?
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Kill? Shut the fuck up? Kill. Don't remind me of
that goddamn movie.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
You know.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Now that I've brought that up, it's kind of making
me more positive on this show.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
I didn't realize when I reviewed it that that sat
on the shelf since twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Yeah, the World's movie.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Yeah, And when I was revealed, like, oh, that makes
a lot of But then that means it had so
much time to enhance the effects that they were like
good enough.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Well, yeah, you know what.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
I respect that it's called sunk cost it's like, look,
we spent a bunch of money on this movie, do
we want to throw more money into this?
Speaker 2 (36:14):
That was the thing.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
They could have put all the money into the effects,
but the story in acting still would have been bad.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
So what was even the point exactly?
Speaker 1 (36:20):
And then I could have actually screwed it over because
right now it has a so bad I had to
watch it thing. But if the effects were too good,
it might have ended up in that in the worst place,
which is not bad enough to bother with, definitely not
good enough to watch.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Yeah, is it better or worse than Alien Earth?
Speaker 3 (36:37):
I guess I'll have to watch and find out. Well,
it's a bigger.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
I think I would feel comfortable without having seen more
in the world. I think I'm comfortable planting my flag
there that this show is better than that movie. Well,
Reversal of Fortune. They lock up all the adults. Yes,
Dame Cavalier or Dame so Cavalier, Okay, who it's I
just one more time want to point out that she
(37:07):
doesn't seem to care at all about Arthur.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
I don't know why they were husbands, show.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Him at all, doesn't warn his laws.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
The last thing she heard is I don't know where
he is, but she hasn't once been like any word
on Arthur.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
I think you're right.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
I think they did at that marriage angle in late Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Uh and oh, my favorite part is when Wendy walks
up to boy and she starts tearing him apart, like
you're just an angry you were never a boy. You're
a man and you're angry, and you know. She lays
lays into him and he goes, you're gonna let her
talk to me like that? But I thought he was
gonna be like, you're really gonna let her talk.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
To you like that, like like it was somebody else.
She was talking about.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
What real quick, real quick, though, I'm being attacked right now.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Yeah, get out.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
I got one of the I have a fly in
here too.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
I was a tiny spider, tiny little baby. It came down.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
I noticed a web the other day and I'm like,
where the fuck is this thing? And it turns out
it's a tiny fucking spider that I.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Think I actually just killed.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Oh good job, Wendy would be a pauled at least
that spider was. Honest.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
I'm looking up now, like every day I clear off
a web and a new web shows up, like where
who's doing?
Speaker 1 (38:22):
How long this acid is gonna come out? They're gonna
start You're like fascinated by this spider. You're gonna start
running experiments on it.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
I don't think I can. I just whacked it with
a napkin. I don't even know where.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Anyway, all right, well what do we do now? We're
gonna rule the world?
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Yes, that was like a big heel t and it's
got like the full size alien. I mean maybe it's
a little smaller, bigger than it should be with the
little baby alien, which I thought was cool.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
I don't like that.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
Because we usually skip, like I said before, we kind
of skip over the chest burster to full grown alien
Alien three a little bit.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
We saw a little bit more and then in between stage.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
So this is cool to see like a full alien
which is like this little baby one next to it. Yeah,
and the fact that it was there the whole time
was kind of cool, like the big reveal that it
was just hanging out listening the whole time.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Yeah, I love her throwing all the stuff back in
boy Cavalier's face. He's basically Captain Hook, I think, is
what she's implying.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
I really thought she was gonna say that you're not
Peter Pan. I really thought it was gonna be your
captain hook.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
But it was.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
It wasn't that, because everyone's been saying Morrow's hook.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
But oh yeah, Marrow. So he went to go see
cavalier Cursh cursh.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Oh. Yeah the fight, the cursh Tomorrow fight. That was awesome.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
That was cool. I like that.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
I always like when there's a robot fight and then
just have just like those old noises.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
But I like that his back is broken and later
on he's just like he grabs the rope. He's like,
go tie him up, and then he start tying him up.
He's like what the fuck.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
He plays it so well because he doesn't get mad, right,
He's a synthetic, so it's like, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (40:03):
And then later on they have him propped up on
the wall because he's like, ah no, that fight was solid.
That was a good fight.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, yeah, that was fun.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
I think like Timothy Olafine, I love as an actor,
and I like him in this show. He doesn't actually
have that much to do acting wise, but that's.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
The weird thing that they got like such a big
actor for that role.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
That's what I kind of kept expecting. I mean he
did a lot.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Yeah, I was expecting more acting wise, which I know
makes no sense because he's just a synthetic. But I
figured if you get a big actor like this, like
a good actor, they must have something interesting planned.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
I'm not complaining. He was good, but I think I
expected more.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Yeah, I'm excited to see what they do with him
in the next season. Is it getting a next season?
Do we know? Is there any announcements?
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Say Alien Earth season two?
Speaker 1 (40:55):
There are talks, talks are confirmed, but there's not an
official renewal.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
If they don't, according to.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
AOL dot com, I don't know why. That's the first
place I ended up.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
If they don't, fucking if they don't reno it and
it's finishing a comic book or something, I'm going to
be annoyed.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
And at least they finish it in a comic.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
But I was covering Raised by Wolves a few years ago,
and they stopped that after two seasons on a cliffhanger.
That was the Kepler twenty two B reference earlier, and
it was all this talk of like it's going to
all be wrapped up in a comic. You know, but
now it's been years and it's been radio silence.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Well that's what they did with X Files.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
They did the season ten, season eleven comics and then
they actually brought X Files back that just ignored those comics'.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
Can Well, but now we have a TV show like
what Yeah, no, I said that, but well, I think
we ran through the whole episode. Any of the thoughts
we didn't talk about on the episode, or even just
reflecting back on the season as a whole.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Ah, I liked it.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
I this is like the most I've enjoyed in the
Alien property in Forever, which I've said multiple episodes. I
know it didn't stick the landing for you in the
long run, but for me, I kind of am accepting
all the ridiculousness because it just made me excited about
the franchise again. I'm like, all right, new environments, new
situations for the aliens to get into, new things for
(42:15):
the robots to do. Yeah, it's not just it's not Romulus,
it's not the other prequels which were weird about space
Michael Myers. It was just cool to see the It
was cool to just have the alien there for a
lot of it. It almost felt like a character for
like the first time. It is the only time like
an alien's actually felt like a character. I know an
(42:40):
Alien Versus Predator and Romulus they gave an alien a
scar so you would know it was a specific alien.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
But did any of them feel like characters to you?
Speaker 3 (42:49):
No?
Speaker 2 (42:50):
No, this one does.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
I still don't get why Alien Versus Predator is like, Okay,
he's got a grid.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
On his head.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
I'm like, is he the leader? He doesn't really do anything?
And then rons like that's the one with the cut.
It's like, all right, what's thank you about?
Speaker 1 (43:06):
And I guess with these franchises that have been around
so long and you're trying to find another way in
humanizing or like turning the alien into more of a
character is the way to go, I guess because now
Predator bad Lands is doing the same thing.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yes, yes, Which.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
Do you think when Joe was like, these guys are predators?
Do you think that was like they when they wrote
that line, they knew people were like everyone thinks predators
are going to show up in the finale, let's name
drop a uh nah?
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yeah, Because I.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
Think in an Alien Alien Resurrection they refer to Ripley
as a Predator.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Yeah, and like if you're going to describe as xenomorph
like yeah, easily in the top five words predator there.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Which is funny because as bad as the Predator was,
I did like that moment where they mentioned the name
Predator doesn't actually hunter. Yeah, it's more of like a
game hunter. And they're like, well, we took a poll
in Predator one. Like again early on, that movie's kind
of fun before where it goes to ship.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
Yeah, it's so fun to read about the alternate endings
they had planned for that movie.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Also ridiculous. Oh what are you talking about? The pot
at the end?
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Oh yeah, it's like new It's gonna show up.
Speaker 4 (44:17):
That was always stupid, But now the original ending where
they're on the tank and there's all these hybrid monsters
jumping out like that would have been fun other than.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
It's Predator at night, but he's bigger whatever.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Anyway, Well, I'm in space, but I'm hearing something.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
Oh let me see what I'm hearing. I gotta scroll far.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
We have so many Oh wow, scrolling all right, Red Beta,
thank you for the two dollars.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
They stole the barnacles from Half Life. That's right.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
They were the aliens that would grab you, and it
was so frustrating because suddenly you'd start moving up and
you have this like squishing noise. You'd have to look
up and shoot it four it would suck you up.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
Oh, I think I'm aware of those, but I never
really played those games.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
The last modern game I ever beat all the way
through was Half Life two, and the next one after
that was Donkey Kong Bonanza, nothing in between.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
You just don't play games at all.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
I'll like dip into a game for an hour or two,
and then I inevitably will stop playing, and then I'll
try and come back later and I can't remember what's
going on, and it's just hard to get back into it.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
That's like me.
Speaker 4 (45:28):
I think I'm on like three years now playing Horizon
Forbidden West. I just play it like thirty to forty
minutes at a time every few weeks, and I'm like,
ten years from now, I'll finish this game, and then
I play other games completely in between, and then I
circle back to that.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
The other problem is like, as a kid, it was easy.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
Whatever game I had, that was the game I had,
So I'm like, I'm gonna play it until I beat it.
But now as an adult, I can play any game
I want, so I'll start playing one, but then I'm like,
I don't know, but that game looks pretty cool. I
heard that game's good. He heard a silk song is good.
I should go check that out.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Me, I just don't have the goddamn time.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Although alien related, I have been playing Alien Isolation with
the twins. Oh yeah, just the movie DLC. I can't
play that full game again. It's too fucking boring, it's
too long. I know everyone loves Alien Isolation, but I
just I fucking can't.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
That should be a five hour game.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
Yeah, and they pad it to hell with door puzzles
and dumb shit.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
But the two movie DLC missions are a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (46:25):
So I've been playing that with them, and it's been
years since I played it, and I'm really bad, so
they enjoy seeing me get eaten over and over and
over again. But there are moments where they get scared.
Then the alien needs We suggest horror games to me.
I'm gonna finally beat the thing game and then I'm
gonna play that. I wanted to play Silent Hill to remake,
but that's not on.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Next post is coming out like today I will.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Be playing Silent Hill f after the Thing remaster. But anyway,
back to super Chests.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
Curry you pilot, thank you for the nine ninety nine.
We'd love to see another prequel episode where it shows
the catre of the creatures. I remember the trader on
the ship mentioned that people died during the capture of
these parasites.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
That's true. We don't know where these came from.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
I think that might stretch the budget too much. Like
to have it on a contained ship. You can do it.
But if I had a choice between seeing the capture
or seeing the breakout on the ship, I think the
capture would be more interesting to me. It's a breakout
on the ship. I mean, it's kind of like you
said a few times, it sort of was. It was
almost like a remake of the original movie. We kind
of know what that looks.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
Like, but more actiony, gory remake.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
Yeah, this would have been interesting.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
I actually liked the first episode that they skipped over
that part because like, yeah, we know, right.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Maybe as a comic, Yeah, and I would read that comic.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
And it would be Predators.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
They got it from a predatorship, right, We went to
the predator hunting world.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Everybody was there, the engineers were there, the predators were there.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
It ran into Adrian Brody and that other the Israeli girl,
and we were like, hey, where are.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
The alien and oh my god, the resurrected Ellen Ripley,
that's part alien.
Speaker 3 (48:05):
What are you doing here?
Speaker 1 (48:07):
Oh my god? A second super chat? Thank you for
the second nine ninety nine they mentioned the last episode
he's a mold scrubber. Okay, the guy in the hallway
that's wearing the weird suit Sprang, which makes sense. As
the show goes on, the mold on the walls get
worse because most of them are probably dead or left.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
I guess, so there's so much mold.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
I guess I have to learn more about mold to
be honest.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
I guess they are in the jungle and it's all
like in a basement, and I guess that would be moldy.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
You better look around there, Tony. I come over. I
want to see you in one of those suits Sprang.
Speaker 4 (48:41):
I run the d humidifier, but I must have forgot
because now I got spiders, so I gotta run that
thing again. I'll forget to like run that thing for
like a week, and then I'm like a lot of webs.
I'm like, oh god, damn it, I gottaf.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Well, mister Pilot is an expert on mold. Maybe he
can help you out with spiders too.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (49:02):
All right, I lost my place hold on uh.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Red Beta is next.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
Red Beta. Okay, here it's gonna come back.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
All right, Red Beta, thank you for the five See
I like I like a nice round numbers. Then four
ninety nine five dollars. Yes, I could wrap my head
around that. I had hope the eye would plant itself
in the first Zeno corpse don't have eyes.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
They don't have eyes. And also the blood, the acid blood.
Oh no, no, doesn't cool.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
I don't think you can go into the xenomorph because
of the blood and no eyes.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Could it go into a face hugger for the same reason?
Speaker 2 (49:38):
No, no, same reason, now stupid.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
I think, yeah, I think that's why it doesn't like,
that's why it ran away from the alien.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
At one point, it's like, I got nothing.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
I can't beat this thing predator. It could go into
a it could.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
Go into a predator. Wont the eyed predator? That'd be awesome.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Have an alien on alien fight later.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
Oh well, zombies are hey, we do have a zombie,
now we do, well, is it technically a zombie? Well,
I guess yeah, he's dead and he's brought back to life,
so he's a zombie.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
I'll allow it. It's a zombie a zombie.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
The reason I changed the name from octopus, as I
saw an IGN review, was like I came up with
the name octopus, and I was like, this guy's an idiot,
and I was like, wait, that's exactly what I said.
So I was like it didn't sound as cool as
I thought in my head.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
Mister pilot is back.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Whoa did it have a annoying little girl and an
annoying reporter lady?
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Oh? He saw him?
Speaker 1 (50:37):
With the Godzilla movie, then it's one hundred percent Godzilla
two thousand, which was one of the few that came
to us theaters. I only saw the part that I mentioned.
That was my introduction to Godzilla and the reason I
had no interest in Godzilla for about twenty years because
I was like that movie.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Where they're like, maybe there's a little Godzilla in all.
Speaker 4 (50:54):
Of us, I'm gonna type, maybe there's Godzilla in all
of us?
Speaker 3 (50:58):
Oh man? That I was a line I heard over
twenty years ago probably, so it's.
Speaker 4 (51:03):
It's here you who I forgot that there was an
alien here?
Speaker 2 (51:09):
Chipped in scared.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
If you're that jumpy, I don't know if you should
have like sculptures of monsters and aliens around your apartment,
around your house.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
Oh, there's got.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
Aaron the super chat for my channel a member. Thank
you Erin for being a member. Love your stuff, caught
you live happy for all the cool new stuff to come.
You have been a real lifesaver in the last months
for long hours of driving. Oh, thank you very much.
That's that's you know. Back in the day when I
used to have to drive six hours a week, it
(51:45):
was podcasts and YouTube that got me through that.
Speaker 4 (51:49):
Yeah, mine's podcast and audio books usually, and then music
sometimes real quick gil, Yes, God's little two thousand It
was god Hiro Miyazaka. The recklessness of science gave birth
to you, Godzilla.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Why do you appear before us?
Speaker 4 (52:06):
Godzilla continues to trample through Shishinku Yuki It she knows.
I probably smelled that pronounce that wrong, because we humans
gave births of the sponster.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Godzilla is inside all of us.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Okay, that's it.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
That's a little two thousand I am impressed for anybody
in the chat who remembered that good.
Speaker 2 (52:27):
Job all right picture from him saying it us.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much that that was exactly how I
remember it.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
Was.
Speaker 3 (52:40):
That it for the I believe that's it.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
All we have left are people floating in the void
of space, screaming uselessly, their throats tightening up.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
Well, pressure balloons them.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
This was a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
It was fun.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
I think, like you know, the nice thing is if
I didn't love the show overall, in the end, it
was a mixed bag. And the great thing about a
mixed bag is there is stuff in there you enjoy,
and even the stuff I don't enjoy, well, then I
get to talk to you about it after And what
could be better than that?
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Well, if they do another season two, let's do this again.
But what other what other weekly shows are coming out? God?
Speaker 4 (53:19):
Yeah, let us know what is a weekly show you
would like us to cover?
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (53:25):
Leave it in the comments. You didn't hear about the
Predator show coming out Predator Earth.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
So Ione saying Marvel Zombies is that weekly?
Speaker 3 (53:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (53:34):
No, they're dropping four episodes, and I think it's all
coming out at once, And in I think like four hours.
Speaker 4 (53:40):
Yeah, no, I don't want to do I don't want
to do like binge because I almost said the new
IT show. But that's all at once. Peacemaker's already airing.
We missed the boat on Peacemaker.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Oh yeah, Actually I'm really enjoying Peacemaker. The pacings a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (53:56):
Off, but I'm waiting for it to finish, and I'm
just gonna binge again.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
It is not all at once what I thought.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
I saw a thing that said October twenty.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
At least I'm looking at Wikipedia.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
It's got one episode in October twenty six, and then
it's got three more episodes. I don't know if it's
only four, but it's got release dates for four episodes,
and it looks like it's weekly, but it might just
be those four I don't know, but if you have suggestions,
let us know in the comments.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Oh, Aaron weekly for the first Oh.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
Okay, all right, we might have something here.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Is it only gonna be four episodes? All right?
Speaker 4 (54:38):
Because I did plan I am planning. I was gonna
do like what's the best modern it? Oh okay, so
I was gonna do that with Logan, but I assumed
it was all coming out on the same day.
Speaker 1 (54:48):
But because it's HBOS, I didn't think so, huh, all right,
we can talk.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
I'm doing it.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Actually, Okay, this is a nice leading Okay, I'm going
to be releasing a trailer this Friday to announce the
big secret Halloween project that I've been working on. But
I figured everybody in this stream, they've been so good
joining us on this journey, I thought I could tell them.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
A little bit early, give them the early.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
So my favorite holiday is Halloween, and every year I've
had this burning desire that I want to celebrate it
as hard as I can on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (55:20):
And this year I decided I'm going to do it.
It's time.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
So in the month of October, one Take presents Month
of Terror, thirty one movie reviews, thirty one horror movie reviews,
one a day starting October first, I'm gonna be premiering them,
I think at eight o'clock Eastern, so you can always
join in the chat and hang out with me. It's
gonna be like watching the horror movie together. And these
(55:44):
are going to be a mix of I basically have
three buckets new horror movies, like ones that came out
the last few months. Contemporary last five years, and then
classics stuff from seventies, maybe even the fifties. And these
are dancial reviews. I think the shortest ones, the half
hour long. Longest one is like a little bit over
an hour.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
I love am off Cat Like before the stream being killed,
we're both relating to losing our voices because we've just
been recording. So yeah, you're like, I keep writing a
long reviews.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
Yeah, I keep telling myself like, Okay, this one's gonna
be fifty. How much is there to say about Friday
the thirteenth?
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Apparently a lot?
Speaker 4 (56:27):
And I just want to point out, please, no one
tell Gill's family that he said Halloween is his favorite
holiday and the same month where there's a Jewish high holiday.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
Uh festival technically, so oh that doesn't count.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
That's not true. That's a lot.
Speaker 4 (56:41):
I'm like, I was gonna say, Google says holiday, you asshole,
it's the holiest.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
I met my favorite pagan holidays.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
Okay, what other days are in December? What can I say?
Can I put over chrismin put December holidays?
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Hold on, I've got this is the finale live stream,
and this is what we're doing, is Tony like, what
days are in December?
Speaker 2 (57:07):
Not days, holidays. I'm looking up holidays.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
There's one, there's two. I'll be like, yes days in December.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
This December. Everyone knows.
Speaker 4 (57:19):
My favorite holiday is Bacon Day, which is apparently December thirty.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
I can a chart.
Speaker 4 (57:25):
I don't know if any of those are real, but yes,
I'm excited for those reviews. That's gonna be awesome. And
I just started filming my October stuff. As you probably heard,
I was filming all my September stuff like on the fly.
I'm a little I'm a little ahead on October, so
that's nice. And I guess if any of you are
in the Philadelphia Bucks County area, I'll be in a
(57:48):
Shanity Creek Brewery this weekend to watch the Jason Goes
to Hell documentary with the director, and they're also going
to play the actual movie afterwards.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
So sweet, yeah, be there for that. It's gonna be fine.
Speaker 1 (58:01):
I don't think this is going to be one of
those things where you mention it and then like spontaneously,
I drive over on the weekend, so you don't have
I I'm disappointed.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
But although I haven't booked the table yet, but if
I get a monster Mania table.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
I will let you know, Okay, in that case, I'll
show up. Yeah, then it's worth my while, Yes, all right,
wrap it up there? Anything else, Yep, Nope, that's it
for me. Man, I have any beer reviews. I already
reviewed every variation of Oreo and reesis. Oh, I uh
hold on, I knew there was something. It's not an
(58:34):
alien live stream without us talking about something that goes
in your mouth. What does he have there about? Oh,
it's got to be the Jason Friday the Thirteenth drinks.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
So I already reviewed them because the fan gave Joe
for a movie dumpster a bunch of cans. But I
finally found the Friday the Thirteenth Thriller pack in Hell. Yeah,
finally found it, ampered it out. I'm gonna drink the
Simple Apple is so good man. The rest not so much,
but the Simple App Like me and my brother in
law were like, we just really want to drink.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
That one again.
Speaker 4 (59:10):
Yeah, but I thought it so I could put it
on set and it's like a cool thing.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
All right.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Maybe I'll once I get my final recording done for October,
I'll just pound a whole box. Yeah, a live stream my.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Last, the last one in the entire grocery store. I
caught it out of the corner of my eyes. I
can't find it anywhere I found. I'm like, yes, here
we go.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:33):
I think my girlfriend is quite happy that I'm not
looking for the reces anymore, because every time we're walking around,
like I wasn't paying attention to anything on this, my
eyes are darting around to like every bodego we walked by,
every convenience store. Just order it online. I'm like, it's
not the same. It turns out it was the same.
(59:56):
All right, Thank you everybody. This has been fun. I
will say well you next week, but not on an
alien live stream, but maybe we'll see you next season
or for it or for some other show.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
If you have ideas, let us know in the comments.
Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
You all rule.
