Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, everyone, Tony from Hack the Movies here and it's
finally out. Well, it came out a few months ago,
but it's finally out this year, the Toxic Avenger remake. Yes,
now that it's here, did we love it? Let's find
out today on Hack the Movies. Hello Crystal, Hello Tony,

(00:24):
thanks for flying all the way up here to talk
about the Toxic Avenger.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I don't know if you know this, but I have
a trauma diploma.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Do you have a trauma diploma? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, I take it. It's gonna rip if I take
it off the thing, But yes, I have a trauma
diploma from my good friend Lloyd Kaufman. Floyd who was
on this show and we talked about the original Toxic Avengers.
He gave me that big poster.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I mean, I know, he's not as big as Mint
Salad and not as as like you get Joe, Bob Briggs.
You have Jober Moffman, and uh you now have Mike Levey.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Mike Levy. Mint Salad is up there with them. I think,
I think, I think I think you're right. The mount
rushmore of guests that I've had, Mike Levy, Joe Bob Briggs,
Lloyd Coffin mean salad. Yes, I think we need a literal.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Hack the movies Mountain Rushmore, So would please make that?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Oh man, I'm working on a really good guest if
I ever get to Poltergeist Too. I found a I
found a guy who looks exactly like the evil bad
guy in Poltergeist Too. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Wait, do you have to throw Joe Rose up there too?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Is Joe DeRosa good enough? I mean he was in
scream Boat.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Oh okay, So if I got to put Joe DeRosa
on the Mount Rushmore, who do I knock off? Other
than Mint? Of course? Do I not off Lloyd? Do I?
I think you just.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Added an extra one? Does anyone really know how many
faces are all Mount Rushmore?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
You know what? I think that Rushmore needs more faces,
and I'm sure no one will protest that. But we
got to get to Toxic of interesting, the Toxic Avenger.
Of course, we love the original again. Go back and
watch my episode where I talked about my favorite Troma
movies with Lloyd Coufin. I've watched The Toxic Avenger many
many times. I watched it with Lloyd Coffin at a

(02:15):
little It used to be a bar slash video store
in Brooklyn. What was it called videology? I think it
was called I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I wasn't there.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
You never been You never been to Brooklyn. I was
gonna say, we were both to Chrystal. Have you ever
been to a place that we've both been to at
the same time?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Nope, that actually wasn't me.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
I forget what it was going. I think it was
called video videology. I don't remember. My friends of mine
used to work there, but they screened The Toxic Avenger there.
I got to watch it like with Lloyd. That was cool.
So I remember in twenty ten they announced that they
were going to remake The Toxic Avenger. Legendary pictures of
all people who've done many many movies, I think recent

(03:00):
they did The Dunes, you know, and the two thousands
they were doing, like King Kong and the Dark Knight trilogy,
especially the third one. Anyway, they said Arnold Schwarzenegger was
attached to that version of the film, and then I
don't know, it never got that version never got produced.
I don't know. They just said that he was attached TOXI.

(03:24):
I don't know, maybe Crystal I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I just remember his name was to make an educated
guest here.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
I think his name was attached. I think I remember
rumors at the time it was trying to be a
little bit more family friendly, kind of like Toxic Crusaders,
the animated series, which will have a video game at
some point, which I forgot to go to the office
and get a bunch of merged for it. But cod
to your local video game convention and look for the

(03:52):
Retroware booth. They will have demos for the Toxic Crusader game.
Mike doing good, doing great, I'm doing good.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
But they were also there for uh when we went
actually Traumathon at mahone Drive in. Yes, and they were
also playing the game as well. Yeah, brought the game.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yes, Yes, follow Retroare on all their socials to get
updates on the Toxic Crusaders. I plugged the game. I
plugged it.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Please you may get anything. Have you even played the game?

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yes? I did? Okay, cool because I've never played a
demo a year ago. It was fun.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah, but they all have it well, No, I have
quite a few, I know, like just Silberman's like taking
it everywhere and stuff like that. But yeah, it's actually
a lot of fun to play.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, well, uh, heads up if they bring it to
monster Mania this year. Looking at I don't think they
are bringing it, but if they do, I won't be
able to play it because me and Tim forgot to
get tables for monster Mania this year. Literally in the
last episode before this or the last like non live episode.
At the end, we both realized neither of us bought

(04:58):
the table.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Because I'm not I don't live up here anymore, So
you're gonna keep fucking up on not getting.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
MOA usually sends an email to pass vendors reminding them early,
and I just never got the emails for.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Con Jesus Christ, you should have a list of events
you go to every year. You would think you would.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Sorry. I thought it was a smart idea to do
ten thousand driving events, and I lost track of the others.
Do we do?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I have to remind you, like and I'm still confused
by this aspect. This is your job, this is your
only job, Chrystal.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
There's a lot. There's a lot to manage here. I
need an assistant but can't afford one.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
So I've literally told you multiple times.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
I will book them, but I can't afford you, you
can't know and can exactly. God damn it. I got
out of that by giving her a compliment. Anyway, can
we talk about the Toxic Avenger?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Tell me I'm starting pretty okay, Yes, okay.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
So Toxic Avenger. You know it's out. I'm sure people
be playing and if they're at Monster Madia, I won't
see that. But anyway, yeah. So, but for whatever reason,
the Arnold Schwarzenegger version never happened, and then I just
every like year or so you would hear about the
remake happening, and then nothing would happen. Then twenty twenty one,
something finally happened. They got actor, writer director Mac conn Blair.

(06:23):
I don't know if I pronounced that right to write
and direct a new version of the Toxic Vendor. Again.
That was twenty twenty. They hired him. They shot in
twenty twenty one, and then you didn't hear anything about it.
And then in twenty twenty three it screened some places,
and I think our our fan Lucia Sieff, who's always

(06:44):
on the live wrap ups, he got to see it
in twenty twenty three when it's screened. That's awesome and
apparently it got like really good reactions. I think Joe
Lynch was like really championing for it.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Which is strange. You got great reactions then and then
it comes out Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Well, I think most people seem to really like it.
Do we like it? Keep watching?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I feel like it's I feel like a lot of
people don't like it. I feel like they're at least
what I've seen, and I could have definitely just be
seeing just hate clicking and stuff like that, or people
absolutely loving it. It's either people going in not knowing
toxic adventure at all, not knowing trauma, that are literally

(07:27):
leaving the theater freaked out that should not exist, or
you have hardcore trauma fans that think it's it's it
is very mainstream, I would say more mainstream type it is.
It goes more towards that route, honest.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
It's still it's still it does retain some trauma stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Oh, it's pretty grungy for mainstream, but they do keep
it at a certain level where hardcore trauma fans that
like the grunge and like the shock aspect.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
You don't really get it are not going to definitely
not as offensive as it could be.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
No, but I think it's a really good It's like
a gateway drug for people that like it and also
are now experiencing trouma maybe for the first time, which
I think is awesome.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
So hopefully it introduces people to like the older ones,
and hope any video game does as well.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I never thought I would ever see a trauma film
in a movie theater, and I think a lot of
people never thought. I mean, Trauma wasn't in Blockbuster.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Well maybe one day and I will see a trauma
film in the movie theater. I didn't get to see
this one. I missed it when it was out.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I had so much fun theater.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
It was out for a week.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Yeah, I made sure I went.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, I was busy.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
It was myself. I put this on social media because
I was so sad. It was myself and another person
in the theater. Yeah, and it was a girl. And
South Florida really really, really really really sucks in the
horror community, like it basically doesn't exist. I want to
go see Evil Don the Musical, and there was barely
anyone there. It was a put on by more of
a smaller theory. It wasn't the tour.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
It was the Age remake with like the video screens
and oh it wasn't one.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
It was practical. It was so much.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
They did great.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
The guy that played Ash looked very similar, which I thought.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Was awesome when I saw it last year. They had
like it was mostly like video screens. It was really Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
The one girl was in there and I'm like, yes,
cold films everything, but she just had her hoodie on.
I like walked by the aisle and I want to
be like, a yo, what's up, Like what's good? But
like nothing, she just looked down and then we're leaving.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Congratulations. You know what it's like to be a man
out in the world and trying to talk to a woman.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I'm not an asshole.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
I'm gonna go talk to that girl and their hoodies
just down. You're like, never mind, they're gonna think I'm.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
A why would you go? Yeah, no, no, I see,
I'm just looking for a friend.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
What are you? The cable guy like, you just really
need a friend?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Well, your mug just saying says my best friend is
my dog, and you don't have a dog, which means
you don't have a best friend.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
A dog. A dog lived, ironically, the dog that was
the ironically the dog that led to the purchase of
this mug died last year, so that's really sad.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Well, you still don't have a dog, so you still
don't have the best friend. But yes, if you're in
South Florida and you're like, horror, please.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
I'll give you her dress. I'll give you her address.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I mean, I did become friends with someone that does
popcorn frights. They have a film and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I think they followed me. Actually I could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Anyway, Okay, fine, it's finally out.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's finally out. They weren't going to like distribute it eventually.
Uh Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, who of course did like
the Terrifier films among other things. They were the ones
to get to get it and put it out in theaters.
And then I watched it on Amazon Prime. There we go.
Uh yes, now, I'll be gonna be honest. I wasn't

(10:58):
really looking forward to this one. I just I said,
the trailers didn't really grab me. Elijah Wood looking like
the penguin from Tim Burton was kind of fun, but
it just wasn't grabbed me. I don't like Peter Dinkledge really,
he's annoying. What's that kid's name, Jacob Trembley. He was
the kid from like Room and whatnot, and now he's older.

(11:21):
He after the Predator, the movie where the Predator wants autism.
Not the biggest fan of that kid, because now I'm
just thinking about that weird movie where the Predator wanted
his autism. I can't believe that's the plot of a
Predator movie anyway. So it didn't really None of the
advertisement really grabbed me. And I didn't like the taxamander

(11:41):
the little person.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
It didn't bother me. Yeah, I was like, it wasn't
him that, No, it's a.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Girl Luisa something. Yeah, which I will give. I will
give Peter Dnklage credit. I mean, he has ruined acting
for little people. That's why we now have Hugh Grant
as a ballpa. That's why the Munchkins in Wizard of
Oz are five foot tall. That's why the Dwarfs were
cgi monstrosities and snow white. Thanks Peter. But he did

(12:12):
actually make sure, like on like the Red Carver stuff,
he made sure true credit. He's like, hey, this is
like a joint performance. It's my voice. But she did
all the heavy lifting. That's nice.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
They did great matching, great matching. It was if you
didn't know that, you wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, no, no, I just to go through the movie,
I start to think they are the same person, So
that worked out. I think that also bothered him, like,
I'm just like, I know he's not gonna be in
the suit. Why don't even bother getting So.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
You went in here with actual expectations, not lower expectations. Oh,
I went in there with the lowest of low. I
was like, this movie's gonna fucking suck.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
That's why I wasn't even like in the mood to
rush out and see it. I was gonna save this
for the year end wrap up, but our lovely fans
kept asking me about it.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I'm happy because I wanted to review this, so thank you,
lovely thing.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
You guys win, you win. But uh, let's go through
the film now and let's see. Did I end up
loving it or did I hate it?

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I think is in the in the Middle. I couldn't even.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Say that, like Malcolm, Yes, they're bringing Malcolm in the
Middle back. Yeah, but they got a new guy to
play Dewey because the actor played Dewey isn't an actor
anymore anyway. The movie opens up with Toxi interrupting and
opening montage. I thought that was funny. So it is

(13:32):
kind of breaking the fourth wall and stuff, which Troma
movies kind of do. They like to wink and nod
to the audience. Very Deadpool inspired.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Which you can feel that.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
I mean, honestly, the Troman movies did that first. They
were always breaking the fourth wall and stuff. But I
think the popularity of Deadpool helped this maybe to a
broader audience, like, oh, I've seen the Deadpool movies. This
is kind of like that. So he's talking about his
origin story and how he's going to become a hero.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Which is very it's very very different, very different.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
He's not Melvin. This isn't like the original where Melvin
got bullied by a bunch of people. They put him
in a touto and then he fell into a think
a toxic waste that was driving.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
But I don't history in this one doesn't feel forced.
It's it's cute. It tries to be heartfelt.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
See the original one is very much like an old
Marvel Colm. It which a lot of like you know,
Lloy Coffin, he's like, you know, he's friends with stan Lee.
They don't like the old monster movies like Jack oll
and Hyde and Stead. They liked movies where a guy
turned into a monster but was misunderstood. Yeah, it was
usually like an accident and stuff. This one changes all that.
It's like, I mean, him becoming a toxic avenger as

(14:46):
an accident, but like the the events leading up to it.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
But it's very it's different from like definitely, going in,
I didn't know how different it was going to be
from the original, and right off it's totally different.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
I knew enough guy, Like I knew he was gonna
be like a single dad and everything. I'm like, okay,
I didn't know how he was gonna get in the
two two because I noticed he was in it too,
and I'm like that. But I'm like, I don'na have
to watch the movie.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Oh we have to say the very beginning, all of
a sudden, you're seeing you don't see Troumaville, which was
its heart.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
It's Saint Romasville, and if you ever see it, like
the s is kind of scratched off, like it's that
there are there are hidden references and a bunch of
trump I probably missed a lot of them, but I
do think this. First order's name was Melvin Uh. So
we hear reports about a corrupt company b t H

(15:40):
Body Talk Health Beat Body Talk the song from Toxic Avenger,
which I really got to add to my gym mix.
I fucking love the body talk song from the original
Toxic Body Talk body.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
That's gonna be your gym song.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
The sound of your body Talk. I'm body Talk.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
I don't know how I feel.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
That is such a good workout song.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (16:12):
And the class of nukeomb high theme that's the best
trauma theme.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
What's going on that too?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Wow, you have trump playless for your workout. It's like
Rob Zombie but.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I worked out to him a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
You're going Trump, Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
So we hear reports about corruption with the Body Talk
Health company, which is run by Bob Garbinger played by
Kevin Bacon.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I love Bacon.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
So his role in this was actually reminding me of
his role in Super James gunn Super, where he was
like the drug lord in that.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
He's really good at playing fun bad guys.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yes not, and they slash them don't watch them in
that one. So yeah, this company is being exposed for
all the shitty stuff that they're doing.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
What it's a company that gives people drugs to help
heal the stuff that they caused. Yeah, shocker, We've never
heard of that happening in real life. I'm glad this
is fiction. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I'm gonna I know where you're going. I'm gonna ask
you to not bring up Thailand all and all your
conspiracy theories about it. Let's get back to the movie.
Every day she texted me about this tail and all stuff,
and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Christ just found out about that.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Keep it off the channel, please.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
You just found out about that probably yesterday on TikTok
and I was like, what is happening? Try to stay
away from all?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Right?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I live in Florida. Do you know how much I
try to stay away from crazy.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I'm surprised you didn't hear about it more down there anyway. Anyway,
back the movie, but.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
There is a whole thing against Bear. What is it?
There is a huge conspiracy against one of the let's
not let's.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Stuck get into it. It's very controversial.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
But if you listen to time Suck, you know what
I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Anyway, So we see, uh, this whistleblower JJ I think
is her name. She gives information to the journalist guy
about all the uh, all the evidence of what the
company's doing. They put it in. They're like, oh my god,
everything's here. Then some bad guys show up who look
like a crazy rock band. They look like the insane

(18:17):
clown Potsy or something. They show up and I like that.
They do shoot the guy like three times. It takes
them three times for that guy to like just die,
and I did enjoy that. So she's running away. Her
evidence gets smashed, unfortunately, but I love when they knocks
out when they throw them out the window. It's just
an obvious dummy. It's the ground, Like all right, I

(18:39):
miss obvious dummies and big movies. There's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Scene set up for some of the expectations that you're
going into, like you know it's going to be.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
It's funny. It's dark and gritty but.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Humorous, trying to add and you could tell they're adding
cheap into a bigger budget.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah yeah, So yeah, she runs away. We get the
opening credits that paint a picture of what BTh is doing,
and we see a poor bird take a drink out
of the stream. And turn into a new convert. And
then again we get to see the talent of Saint
Romasville that just.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Don't I don't like that.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Peter Dinklice plays Winston, a step dad whose wife died
and now he's stuck with her kid Wade Wade, and
Winston reminds me of Wade Wilson, which is Deadpool's name,
and I'm.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Like, all right, come on, I didn't even put that together.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
But we did. We get an early sign it's going
through the house. We see a picture of when the
wife was at The girlfriend was alive, and they're into
tubes and stuff because she was a performer. And I'm like, okay,
they're working it in. Now we know it exists and
there's a reason for it to come back. Later on
the news, they're talking about the local team, the new

(19:55):
Kem team, and the guy says, new Ken is gonna
ukum like ukem I what like classic Nukem I. Outside
we see an old lady being threatened by a mafioso
guy cat.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Yeah, that was so rude.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Yeah, and it's not like an asshole cat like mine.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
It seemed like a nice cat.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah. Now this if someone came to me, and they're like, Tony,
you better do this or we'll get your cat. I'd
be like, oh no, don't do that.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Do you appreciative that your cat's not in the hospital
right now? My cat's in the hospital right now.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
I almost put my cat and I almost went Hassan
Piker on my cat yesterday. Came in screaming at three
am because her food just wasn't to her liking. I'm like,
I'm like, I'm like, lady, you gotta get out of
the fucker right now. I didn't have Sanpike or the
cat relax.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
She shouldn't be allowed cats. You should be allowed around cats.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
I agree, And Crystal, Crystal, you see like a better
cat owner than me, feel free to take her. Feel
free to take her. I'll sign anything. Her insolence expensive.
And now she has to get arthritis shot, so I
mean cat carrier's still out there. I got her vet you. Oh,
I almost had to cancel my vet appointment yesterday. She
has a new hiding spot that I can't find. You know,

(21:29):
in her old age, her body's breaking down, but the
learned to hide spot part of her brain turned on. Finally,
close to twenty years she finally turned that part of
her brain on. She has a hiding spot that I
cannot find Crystal. I tore the house up looking for her.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Did you find her? Where was she?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
I get on the phone to cancel the fucking appointment.
You get on the phone, I'm like, I'm sorry, I
can't find her. Do you have openings tomorrow? And we're
talking and I look over and I see her come
down the stairs and I'm like, you gotta be kidding,
and I'm like, I just found her. They're like, get
here as soon as you can. I'm like, okay, and
I'm like.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
I love her. I love her.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I called her for an hour, shaking food and everything. Nothing.
I got on the phone to cancel the thing and
then she's like, oh, were you looking for me? And
I'm like, cat, you're on my last nurse. Anyway, it's
your problem now you heard it here, Crystal will be taking.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
I have to pay in sane fucking vet bill right now,
and hopefully he doesn't need surgery, which will be even more.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
He's gonna need a friend, and.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Uh mine already has a friend. I just right now,
I can't afford another cat, because, like Crystal.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Crystal Crystal, she's like sixteen, not gonna be around. I
think how long do they live.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Depends how well you treat them. I mean, I mean
how badly you treat her. I figured she'd say to
that woman, a lie living with you. I'm suppression. Didn't
put herself out of the misery, and like, you don't
even have my best friend's my cat. It's my dogs.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
That's insulting what I've never owned my own dog and
as I've said many times, not supposed to be my
cat anyway. So speaking of cats, the guy threatens the
cat if she doesn't sign over to whatever their mafia
business is. Uh with face. Winston catches the cat, but
then Wade choose them out for not like interfering and

(23:29):
stopping this. I mean, And if I was Winston, I'd
be like, wait, I'm like three foot tall. What did
you think I was going to do that?

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Guy, Tony, you left me in the middle of a
street once in Philly and you said defend on my.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Like, just because I respect women and they're independence and
you're a girl boss and you don't need no man.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
You're just rude.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
So you're not independent and not a girl boss, and
you do need a man.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
No, but I would like so from a friend.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Well, unfortunately you didn't have a friend there, you don't
have any. But yeah, this kid's like, why didn't you
help me? Winston, I'm like asking him for help. It
is like asking kid Osborne for help, and they're just
gonna get their asshole. Also, we get a little bit
of a story here where wins Or Wade is a
dancer or a performance something. He doesn't call it dancing.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
It's I don't remember what he called.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
It was like performance construct. He had a weirdness.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
It's something about like with construction or buildings, like it
reminded me of dancing.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
It's dancing.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
He was dancing and.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Winston is trying to be supportive. Wade's not enjoying it.
He just thinks his dad's being an asshole. Well not
his dad.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Yeah, yeah, I don't think he thinks he's being an asshole.
Like he tries really hard. I think he knows he
tries really hard, especially with all the bills on the table.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Yeah, I just I think he just misses his mom
and my mom stuck with the guy who's not really
my dad. So this feels weird. And then Winston is
the janitor at the BTh factory. Apparently he's a very
good one. He goes to the doctor and he has
a case of something. There's always construction when they say
what's specifically wrong with him? This is a very advanced

(25:20):
case of I did like the scenes with the doctor
where the doctor just keeps avoiding the subject and prolonging.
That was pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
I like throughout the movie though, you hear people in
the background very clearly, like background.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Noise or I like that.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Yeah, straight up lines you hear, oh my god, especially
the construction workers talking.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
And yeah, there's a lot of background dialogue, which I love.
Uh So, Yeah, he learns that he has some kind
of we assume cancer. He has a platinum insurance plan,
but unfortunately this treatment is only covered in the gold
insurance plan. But isn't platinum better than gold?

Speaker 2 (26:00):
That shit hurts so hard, and I'm sure it's hard
on a lot.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Of Everyone's related to this. Every everyone's related to how
frustrating the American healthcare system is. That's why when some
some Italian man did what he did last year, no
one really got up at arms about it because they're like,
who did he do it? Too? They're like, oh, we've
had problems with them, like uh oh oh, this movie

(26:25):
addresses all of that, which is that is a fun
way to like work in some modern elements into it
because I know, like the eighties was like about like
environmentalism and stuff, which this movie is still kind of about,
but they're working in like modern issues. And actually this
movie did raise a bunch of money for a charity

(26:45):
for the unpaid medical thing, like it's like paying people
who couldn't pay their bills and stuff.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
So it actually posted it not long but I think
actually a couple of days ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that
was really awesome and beyond and went way above.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
So it's bringing attention to that. It's helping with that guys.
Lloyd so yeah, he uh, he can't afford any of
the treatments for what he has. Kevin Bacon again, Bob Garbinger.
He's the head of the BTCH company. He's losing money.
He's pumping animal blood into himself. Feels like gorilla blood
and stuff.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Which is hilarious because it reminds me of like this guy.
I don't know if you ever, I don't remember his
name off the top of my head. That literally does
blood work every single day. He's trying to be the
age backwards as much as possible. I know he was
like friends with the Kardashians or something.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
I mean it's more than just blood buddy.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
No, but he's doing like everything possible. This guy. It's
crazy the amount of work he's doing. And that just
reminded me of him.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah, just like that, the blood change. We're going to
do so much.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Yeah, I mean, I guess it's better than what is
it they're looking into putting another person's species up.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
You like, Oh, I've heard that for years. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
There's a whole thing with the microbiomes.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Yeah. Yeah, where like your body works over time to
like combat it or something.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
No, what it is is someone has a better kind
of like bacteria in your body, and when it comes out,
you insert it. Obviously, it has to be.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Looked.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
I looked at what was documentary or a video about this.
It was really interesting. But it has to be supervised by,
you know, a medical professional professional. Yeah, because it can
be very dangerous. This one girl actually does it herself
and puts them in capsules. I think it's the nastiest thing.
Ah No, yeah, but it takes the good bacteria of

(28:35):
in someone's body, and you put the good bacteria into
a body that lacks that good bacteria, and it kind
of makes it and tries to. But there's so many
things that can go wrong, so it has.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
To be super woul that have helped his brain.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
His brain, I mean, your gut is the second brain.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
So maybe Bob is losing money. He's tied with the
mob a little bit. He owes money to the mob.
He has the two down. He's the town is kind
of working for him, but he's funded by the mob,
so it's this whole corruption thing. His brother is Fritz
played by Elijah Wood.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
This character.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
He gets showed out for not killing the journalists secretly
enough and letting the other one get away. And also
he uses the band the what were they called the
Killer Nuts, The Killer I think it was the Killer Nuts.
He's the manager of the rock band, but they're also
his henchmen. They play monster rock. He makes it very
very they do like them.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
It's it's not exactly the same villains that are that group.
That's yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
They actually remind me more of the Cretans from Return
to Newcomb High Yeah or no, the Creans from Newcomb High,
but more like the Gleatins from Return to Newcombe High.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I guess just those punk rocks yeah, killer yeah, but
a little bit more juggalo ish.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
I feel like they're more like juggalos. Yeah. He tells him, like,
you know, go hunt down the whistleblower. The school that
Wade goes to hash or no, yeah, wait, the school
that Wade goes to has kids dancing to a very
inappropriate song. Oh I shouldn't be dancing to that. Wade

(30:13):
goes up to dance, walks off stage. Did you have
you ever walked off stage? You ever choked on stage?

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I haven't have you. I know you've been really high
on stage, or at least you were very you ate
some very special food that.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
I never cowardly walked off stage. I've bombed on stage.
I failed on stage, don't stand up a couple of times,
didn't go well, but I never I never got up
and choked and walked off.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
No, even when I stood there and suffered, because that's
just your daily life anyway.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Given at karaoke a few months back, where I got
way too drunk and I screwed up the song. I
did end the song early, but I still sang most
of it. A guy booned me right before the song started,
and I was so drunk, and I I got in
my head and I'm like singing most of the song.
And then I just like I coude me. I think

(31:10):
I threatened the guy. Uh And then like before the
song was done, I just I thought it was done.
I gave the thing guys like you still have more
song and I went, oh no, I don't. I'm done.
I'm done. And then I paid my bill and I
walked outside and I saw Lauren coming in and I went, hey, Lauren,
fuck you, bye bye bye bye bane.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Wow. You do know if I can finally hang out
with Lauren and we all go to karaoke one night,
we are both gonna boo the fuck out eat.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Before you get out, I will kill you. So he chokes.
Winston tries to cheer weight up by dancing for him
in A two two.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
It is so fucking cute.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
It doesn't work, though. Uh So he stormed these scenes.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Sorry, I'm not gonna say sorry for INDPT and Holy
Ship Corporates got into my head. Weird, I said those
words out out here, those types of scenes. Do you
think that kind of ruins the feel of trauma because
there are a lot of hearts. I mean, there are
a couple of heartfelt scenes in the original, like you knowship.

(32:16):
Yeah exactly, But do you think these types of scenes
kind of take you out of that trauma? No at
this point.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
At this point, I'm not expecting it to be like trauma.
I'm appreciating the little trauma stup there springplaning, but in
my head, I'm like, I know this is going to
be different, so it doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother me.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
I quite a few yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
But yeah. He tries to help them, and the storms
out of the house. Okay, So then Bob is getting
yelled at by these legitimate businessmen friends hey, the mob
because apparently people too many people called on that his
treatments were actually getting them sick. And then Winston steaks
in as security because they're all wearing masks, but he

(32:58):
also has a toots you on and he's also three
feet talls. Like that's not gonna work. Somehow it works.
He interrupts Bob and he's just like, hey, I really
need help. There's this thing going on, and Bob's like
acting on help. He's like I'm going to help you out.
You want assistant. I forget what her name is, and
we'll just call her the assistant, will help you out.

(33:19):
And then she like locks him out of the plate.
He locks it, he gets locked out, and she leaves him. Yeah,
and then he hears them just making fun of them,
fun of him. Uh, so he's going to take matters
into his own hands. He gets some, he gets a mop,
he dips it in toxic waste, and then like holds
up a bank or the money in or the safe
in the factory. I forget who he was holding up

(33:40):
to get all that money.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
It wasn't it was it was in the It was
the building was the one that he knew. Yeah, because
the guy. Yeah, the guy was like pretty sad and
angry that he was like, why would you do this
to me? Like I thought we were okay.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
So I think it was a safe in the companies.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
It wasn't the company. Because you have the h and
the girl exactly the evidence. Yeah, that was all happening.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
So they bump into each other.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
And the hunchmen are trying to get the girl. Yes,
as this is all happening, Yes.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Her evidence spills onto his money. It burns everything. She's
able to get away. He isn't, and they shoot him
in the face and I like that. Fritz is like,
that's not who we're after. So they tell him to
dispose of him and they throw him in the toxic
waste and then we get we get a trippy scene

(34:31):
of him. I did like this. This did feel sort
of trauma is oh and they played that like classical
music that also played and they were at that dump.
I'm like, all right, I appreciate them doing that. It's fun,
it's whacky. He is now the toxic Avenger. He returns

(34:52):
home and he sees Wade, and Wade knocks him out
the window onto the mafia guy's car. He ends up
ripping the dude's arm off, and blood just sprays it.
Somehow the guy doesn't die.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Yeah. I love because that's the first Eddy type of
violence scene, right.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
And then because you don't. I didn't know where how
they were going to handle all the gore and the blood,
and I wasn't sure if they were going to really
make it like compared to Trauma pges. But soon did
you see that arm rift off and the blat Okay.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
The violence is very fun in this.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yeah, I'm going to keep someone of the vibe.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yeah, but he's also a bulletproof now his blood just
shoots the bullets out. Uh, super strong. He runs away,
wakes up in the woods with a wise homeless man
who has very sage advice for him, and he basically
encourages him to be hero.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
He was a doctor before.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Oh right, right, so.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
He trustes this guy because of says he was a doctor.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
I kind of remind me a little bit of like
almost like a Winkanda, like the junk yard where he fell. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
but you know he's like his he like motivates him.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
They're they're doing mop fighting together, and then we get
like the classic silhouette of the Toxic Avenger in front
of the sunset, only now they're tiny, So he's gonna
be a hero, I guess. Then I was like, Okay,
I was not expecting this, Crystal. I thought the Toxic
Avenger was gonna be the only good guy in this.

(36:31):
But then it cuts to a bunch of brave heroes
holding up a burger joint called Miss Meat. Now they're
upset because it used to be mister Meat, and the
guy's ranting about the feminization of the West, and I'm like,
oh my god, this must be the Toxic Crusaders. Oh well,
it's quite.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Western society, fabled by esplogetic thinking tox.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
He's gonna team up with these heroes, these modern day
hercules is, and they're gonna fight crime together. And I
was all on board. And I didn't think they were
gonna do that uh so early. So I was like, cool,
here we go. The whole team's getting back together.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
You know, you really wonder why women hate you, including
your female cat, like you really wonder why. I'm pretty
sure you hate women.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
And of course the differently abled woman of color is
the one that hates those guys. And I'm just like,
this lady, this lady is why we have boys month.
So imagine my surprise when the Toxic Avenger kills all
of them. What's wrong? I couldn't believe it these modern days.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
You guys don't understand who talks like this off camera
as well.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Just saying if you're making a movie about a superhero,
why would he killed? Why would he killed? The real heroes?
Really subvertic my expectations. I did love they have the
anchorman they're like at miss meet, He's like it used
to be mister meat. I'm like, guys, I'm fighting that
actor to Boys Month. Boys Month was great this year.

(38:05):
It was it was It was the first Boys Month
to not flop. It performed as average. It was an
average performing month, not a below average month. We're back boys.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
It's only because you had the manly man Joey C.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
No, he wasn't in Boys Month.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Actually you did it include Joey C.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Bois he was a Boy of the Week. No, Originally
we were gonna do Twist the Metal season two, but
then it was weekly, not all at once, so we
had to do it in September. But he was a
Boy of the Week because we did Boys of the Week.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
I can't believe he didn't put Joey C in Boys Month,
Like that's that doesn't make sense. Why was anyway the
manliest man to be a Boys Month?

Speaker 1 (38:53):
You said manliest man, but you said Joey C. I'm
a little confused. What's what's going on?

Speaker 2 (38:57):
He is the manliest man I've ever seen in my life.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
So anyway, Wow, I help. So for whatever reason, Toxi
kills these innocent people and the town cheers him on.
I don't know why you say the.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Wink in the noad though to about the blind girl,
where you kind of feel like you're okay if you
know this movie that who talks. I mean it felt
off with how much of a stronger role this was,
and you're like, this doesn't seem right.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Because yeah, there's no like love interest in this. But
that was a wink and an odd to the blonde
girl from the other film. And also he just the
tox Avenger is known for walking into a store and
fighting everyone. Yeah, I mean that's how two Star is
a two that starts off in the video store. That's
like my favorite one when they're in the video store
and they're making the store won't carry trauma films or whatever.

(39:47):
I can't remember if that's where there was like a
bunch of bad guys are holding up a store. We're
the Warner brother So this scene reminded me of that. So, yeah,
the town cheers on. He's thrown bt H under the bush.
The one armed guy survives randomly and uh, he identifies

(40:09):
toxy as the culprit. We learned that Toxi can piss acid. Yeah,
he kept peeing onto a chimney and it melts the
chimney and like it was chimney.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
People are pissed at that.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
I'm like, why why were they pissed at that?

Speaker 2 (40:21):
I don't know, because it was pissed. No, well, some
people were actually angry at it.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
So Bob finds out that Winston and Toxi are the
same person. Wasn't that hard to figure out out?

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (40:45):
So they're looking into how the mutation happened, and they
think they can use him for a medical breakthrough because
he's like super strong and resistant to everything. Uh JJ
phills weight on, wade in on what's going on. I
like that. She's like, I need to tell you everything.
And then she's like, I told you everything. Like that's funny.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
They do a lot of those types of jokes.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
I think, yeah, I like those. So she tells this
I really enjoyed. She goes in the whole story about
BTh created a thing to cure her mom, but it
actually gave her cancer and died, and then she goes,
my sister died from a zamboni. She had no self aware.
I like that the sister died was just unrelated. It
was just unfortunate time. And he goes, my mom died

(41:24):
the same way. She goes to Zambone. He's like, no, no, no,
the cancer won.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
That was funny.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
But the killer nuts show up to kidnap Wade. They
managed to get out, but they put a tracker on him,
and Toxy shows up and confesses his sickness to Wade.
He's like, look, I was sick, I was dying, and
he promises that hole not die and then he gets
shot right away in front of him. So he's fighting
some of the monsters. JJ and Wade get away, but

(41:52):
then JJ gets shot and they take Wade. Yeah. I
really like Toxy puppeteering the dead guy. Hey, come here
and tell you good? What do you gotta tell me?
Just come here? Just the guy's like, not not participating
at all.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
That she shows you how much like just idiots they are.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
I enjoyed that. I enjoyed that kind of like wackiness.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Yeah, it was very Everything about this was wacky. There
wasn't a non wacky moment.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Yeah. So he kills a few of them and then
he takes JJ to the homeless guy who isn't a doctor?
Who told you I was a doctor? You did? Oh?
My medical opinion is that she's dead. So he uses
his Toxi blood to save her. And I have a
note here, I swear to God, if she becomes a
lady toxic avenger, I'm gonna punch myself. Thankfully that didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
The mob yourself.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
The mob threatens Bob again, but he's happy because he's
got toxis kids. Now he has some leverage on toxi. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
I also want to know going back to giving the
toxi blood, like it doesn't affect. It just brings her
back to life. I felt like that was an odd thing,
a little bit of it. Yeah, but it literally just
healed her. That was it.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
I think that, Yeah, it depends on the dosage that
you have.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Okay, wait is this and this all is before the concert?

Speaker 1 (43:15):
Yes, is before the concert. So now they're at the
junk yard and they're talking about like she's kind of
giving up. She's like things will never change, like, no,
we could still make a difference. We can change thing.
And then they're at the Saints Roma's.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Festiv's Okay, yeah, s is.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
Faded and the evil is faded, so it looks like
Trauma Fest and I'm like, ah, that's funny, that's funny,
that's trauma thought.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
I do. But I just still hate the Trump But
you do see I will say they do have New
Jersey license plates, but like there's no other he was.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
He was the first super human hero from New Jersey.
How does that make you feel?

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I love it. I love it, every aspect of it.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
Every superheroes from Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Let us have something we don't have much. We had
the New Jersey Devils. We don't have a basketball team.
You don't have a football team. We don't have anything.
But we have Toxy.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think of a
Philadelphia superhero. The Shizam movies made Hizam from Philadelphia, but
that's not in the comics. So that's as close as
we get.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
I guess, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
I don't make Philadelphia superhero.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
I mean there's tons of movies made in Philly or
like that talk about Philly.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
We need, we need a superhero. He's not a superhero,
he's a super A little bit and Rocky for superhero.
We need a superhero from Philadelphia. I know, I know.
Comic book guys eat the Van Skiver. You're a big
you're living Jersey, but I know you're a Phillies fan. Hero. No,
give us some more Philadelphia heroes. If you make comic books,
make a Philadelphia hero. Uh Vino Giswelde need not apply.

(45:00):
You don't need to do it. You wouldn't do it anyway,
and if you did, you'd fumble it and it would
suck and you'll waste three years and a lot of
people's money anyway. So yes, he tells her to like
hold onto hope and they're gonna change things. They're gonna
make a difference. So at the festival, the Killer Nuts
are performing and they hijack their performance and Toxy sings
his own song and then he ends up killing everyone

(45:23):
who like rips the guy's head off. Wait wait, the
one guy kills himself he does park there's a.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Parkour guy, because isn't it in the original there's a
parkour guy.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
I don't know. I'm pretty sure there's a parkour was
a thing in the original. So one of the guys
kills himself while doing parkour. Gonna trim that segment down.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
I don't even just take out the whole questioning apart.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
I don't even know what he falls into he does
a bunch of park corp, falls off stage and then
blows up. I'm like, did I miss something. I gotta
go back and check and see what he fell on.
But yeah, then he like he spears the one guy
and it goes into the girl on election and the
only one that gets away is the chicken mask guy
who ends up having a baby's head.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Didn't she like to throw up when she took that?

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Thought it was gross. She's like, that's messed up. But
he lets him know that the kid was taken to
chud Haven, which is where Kevin Bacon. Chud Haven's pretty funny.
It's where Kevin Bacon lives, So like, all right, let's
go get our kid back. They drive there, but they
fall into a trap.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
I think at this point, honestly, when he's actually healing her,
I think it's when I started feeling the movies becoming
too long.

Speaker 1 (46:35):
Long It's only like an having forty minutes.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
It started to feel long. It started to feel as
if it was this is for me. When I started
being like, are we almost almost like it just started
feeling a little too stretched out at this point, So
I was like, I was kind of waiting for more.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
I like pacing was I thought I was fine with
the pacing, but they fall into a trap. They're experimenting
on toxi. They're draining his blood and running tests on it.
It's not perfected. But then Bob gets pissed off by
the mob buses, so he just drinks a whole vial
of it and kills all of them, and then it

(47:11):
mutates him into a goat man, which he talked about
being the goat earlier, and he had a goat statue,
so it's funny that he became a literal goat man,
which I just kept thinking of a Saturday Night Live
goat boy. Remember Jim Brewer, he played goat Boy and
Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 2 (47:28):
I don't remember that one.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Oh that's a good one, look, huh, I love Jim Brewer. Yeah,
he's a he was a goat boy. That was a
good one. That was a good one. So, yeah, he
drank it all. He's like turning way too much into
a goat. His assistant drinks a little bit but not enough,
so she's mutating slightly.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
Yeah, but she's also clearly right, isn't she clearly dying faster?

Speaker 1 (47:49):
I think so?

Speaker 2 (47:50):
But yeah, no, no, No, she doesn't die faster.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
No, she's she's just not as strong. Yeah. Yeah, and
he's a little too much, but yeah. She tells him
like the seer him needs to be perfected, and she's
like perfected. She instructs Fritz to kill the kid, and
he has reservations about killing kids.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Why is that? Or no way? It's a brother thing, right, Yeah,
I forgot free family. Yeah so brother, yeah, Bacon, I'm
just gonna ta Kevin Bacon.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
And one of them had a whole speech about how
family is important and everything.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Yeah, and then he realized he has a ship brother
and he's.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
Like nope, yep. So he's having a little change of
heart there.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
Yeah, he does treat him like shit. Yeah, making treats
his brother.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Looks shuh, toxic takes way too long to remember that
he could pee ascid.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
What's your number one thing?

Speaker 1 (48:41):
I was not expecting to see toxic Avenger Dick in this, really.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
I actually expected to see a lot more Dick.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
He's like, I gotta puss on my face pretty good.
So he's peeing all over and then he has to
pee on her and she's like no, but yeah. They
go out and they try to save Wade, but an
explosion happens during the firefight. They rest in peace kid Wade.

(49:09):
This leads to an epic mop versus axe fight between
him and Goat Bob just duke in it out and
then JJ fights the assistant a little bit. It's a
big fight, makes it to some kind of wasteland because
we go from the big mansion to the wasteland. Then
we find out that Wade survived thanks to Fritz. Fritz

(49:31):
showing up last minute to save him, but then like
he's trying secret Yeah, Donald, Yeah, but I like that.
He's about to kill Bob and he's like, Dad, don't
do it. You're a killer. He's like, well, you're not
a killer. He's like well, He's like, oh, but that
was self defense, right, And he's like yeah, Like are
they all self defense? Basically talks adventures just kind of

(49:51):
like dancing around the knam I'm just a killer man.
But yeah. He shoves Bob into the engine of the
car and they turn it on. Shred. That was cool.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
That was a really good kill.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
That was cool. The assistant is still alive. She stabs Toxi.
She slits Fritz's throat, but then Toxy causes a huge explosion,
and he wakes up in the hospital and he learns
that BTh has been exposed the Blind Lady. They mentioned
earlier that there were secret federal agents in town. The

(50:22):
Blind Lady was the secret federal agent. I like that.
As doctor was there the whole time and startled him.
He was like, oh my god. He's like, sorry, I've
been here the whole time. I was just having lunch,
just like, what's wrong. He finds out that his mutation
cured his illness. Yep, so he's gonna like work with
the Feds or something. I don't know what they were
saying there. Oh, and Fritz lived. Fritz lived, And everybody

(50:45):
loves the monster except Lloyd Kaufin. He's the only one
who's not a fan of a monster, which I thought
was cute. I thought that was fun. Boy coffin he
got to be in Superman this year, and he got
to be in Toxic Avengers. You seeing the new Superman yet?

Speaker 2 (51:05):
No?

Speaker 1 (51:07):
HBO, Max Check. I think you'll enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
Do you know? I have to watch so many other things.
You still haven't given me October's list. I don't think
of movies to watch, so I'm almost on the list.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
See, I don't have time to watch other actual movies
that are out unless you put them on the list.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
Do you want to do a commentary for Superman? But
some time you can do it a stream yard? Maybe?
Why would I do it? Frank I already talked about it.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
Well, Frank's a freaking superhero. He knows everything.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
About a Peacemaker is on the list.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
We don't have to watch the haven't watched Peacemaker yet?

Speaker 1 (51:43):
Oh well, maybe skip that one. Uh but yeah, we'll
figure it out. We'lligure it out. Oh.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
I knew Lloyd Kaufman actually was invited to I actually heard.
I was listening to a little interview with La Kaufman.
He was actually invited to the Peacemaker premiere in New York,
So I thought that was kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (51:59):
James Gun loves him anyway.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
I love like, I love that. I love that. Can
there be more of a James Gun? Lloyd coughing like.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Riley is very upset with James Gun over Peacemakers sees too, Riley.
James Gun is now on the clip of Versus Radar.
You don't want to be on the clip of Versus Radar.
We'll see what happens. Anyway, everyone has a happy ending,
even the mutant bird just just kidding it lays eggs
and then the homeless guy takes the eggs and eats

(52:27):
them like that's sad. Wade does his dance store in
the credits, and it's more like a Gallagher act, like
he's smashing things.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
At first you're like, oh, this is a dance piece,
and then it just goes into yeah, full gag.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
And then we get a post credit sequence where it's
the assistant Survive, but then it cuts to just Toxy
making grilled cheese, and I think that's like a reference
to making fun of like MCU post credit sequences, but
they've become they the MCU post credit stuff. It makes
fun of themselves that I saw the post it's at

(53:02):
the very Yah, it's at the very end. He just
makes a grilled cheese and eats it with this kid.
I think it's supposed to make fun of like how
you wait for the post credit it's not worth it.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
The Late Lightest Conjuring where I waited the.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
Entire time to see you picture. Yeah that was stupid,
but no, just like was it the first MCU spider
Man with Tom Holland. Remember Captain America came out, it
was a joke about how you waited for nothing, So
I feel like this movie's doing that. I'm like, yeah,
but the thing you're parodying already has made fun of
themselves for that, So that one didn't land for me.
And that is the Toxic Avenger twenty twenty five. Crystal, Yeah,

(53:36):
what did you think? Did you love it? Did you
hate it?

Speaker 2 (53:40):
Neither? I appreciated for what it was. I like the
fact that it hopefully introduced a new audience to trauma.
I honestly prefer the original. I love that grimy, grudgy,
like just that feel of trauma, and it definitely I

(54:00):
think it is the comparing to the original, it's like
the PG version and I don't.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
Which is funny as Dixon, but it's.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Still it's I don't know, it's just it's not trauma.
But it's as far as as much esque. It's definitely
trauma asque. It's as much trauma as it can be
with probably being allowed to be in the movie theaters
and stream the I love practical effects. There was a

(54:35):
lot of CGI. There was a lot of that kind
of Yeah, but I just comparing. I just love that practical,
that dirtier feel.

Speaker 1 (54:45):
But the makeup effect for Toxi was really good.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
It was it was, It was good. I didn't hate it,
I didn't love it, but I would probably watch it again.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
Okay, I think I said it earlier. Its heart's in
the right place. It tries to be like a trauma thing.
It doesn't quite work for me, but it's it's mostly fine.
It's fun. You know what, Crystal, you know what it is. Cristally,
you know what it is. It's fine and fun. Is
fun and fine and fun and fine. No, it's fine

(55:19):
and fun. I'm not gonna watch it again. I'll just
watch the originals again. I appreciate it that it tried
to feel like a trauma film, wasn't just ignoring all
the stuff that makes those movies great. Like it had
the funny quips, it had the over the top goore,
the tongue in cheek, fourth wall breaking. I enjoyed it.
It just didn't hit for me like the actual ones did.

(55:41):
And also, why was it a little person? I really
didn't question that big toxic avenger. Yeah, it should have
been Arnold Schwartzenecker as the Toxic Avenure. They should have
did the original. They should have remade the original with Arnold,
but he's still like a high school mop boy. But
it's modern day Arnold.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
I would love that.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Oh my god, the girl is going to kiss me up.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
I love that idea.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
No, I think it didn't like Ruin anything. It's not
like the worst thing ever. No, it's an enjoyable, fine movie.

Speaker 2 (56:14):
It's just I love though that it wasn't a shot
for shot remake. Was a shot for shot remake. Yeah,
I would probably strongly dislike this movie.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
We get it. You don't like Psycho starring Vince Vaughn,
and we hate that movie so much.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
I don't know if I hate that movie more or
the newest uh Black christ or was.

Speaker 1 (56:35):
It what he said? Yeah, today, the day we're filming this,
I think is the anniversary of the original Black Christmas.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Yeah, okay, I'll go.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
Go back and watch our worst Black Christmas episode.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
I don't know which movie I hate it. Yeah, Psycho
remixer that.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
One, but this one is. It's one of those remix
that is just fine. Yeah, but it's not going to
overtake the original. I just I don't think it's gonna
be rewatchable for me. I did like the teas at
the end for two Toxy to Avenger. They have a
thing they're like Toxic Venturer will return into Toxic to
Avenger like make fun of but they're like if the

(57:10):
box office, like depending on box office hitting a billion
dollars and then it's like Crypto only and has all
these qualifiers for a second one coming out. It's at
the very very end. But yeah, I enjoyed it for
the most part.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
But betweens a new audience. I hope it brings out
a new generation.

Speaker 1 (57:28):
Sure, people who don't know what the Toxic Avenger is.
For example, when me and Lauren went to see weapons,
we walked outside, she sawd the poster. She went, what
the hell is that? And I went, that's the remake
of my good friend Lloy Coffin's movie.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Well, I went back after it was done, and I
actually went back up to the people that worked there,
and I was like, hey, guys, do you.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Know if there's whoa good Oh no, I turn I
turned into the Toxic Avenger. No oh no, oh my god.
I moved my leg and I hit that. Oh my god, Crystal,
this is this is what happens when you make fun

(58:10):
of Crystal. This is how Kid Osborne lives his life.
It's a it's a it's a nightmare. Let me fix this.

Speaker 2 (58:19):
Oh my god, that's.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
How I've never done that before. I just hit the
That is fucking funny, So Toxic Vendram check it out
if you want. You'll probably skip it. I would say,
check out the video game coming out at some point,
the Toxic Crusaders game. That's gonna be a lot of fun.
And uh yeah, like share, subscribe, Crystal? Where can we

(58:43):
find you? What are your socials?

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Crystal Quinn, I will never be good at this ever. Okay, okay,
on Twitter, slash x and Instagram.

Speaker 1 (58:56):
You're not the only one. I yelled at Captain Boom.
He's in an episode we did together.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
I'm like, you're also movie has a thousand things that
she's doing I'm doing. I know, I'll try to survive
in Florida.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
That's why it was even weirder. When I went up
plug your stuff. She went, I don't know, and I'm.

Speaker 2 (59:10):
Like, show she has a freaking actual the show.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
I'm like, plug your stuff. She's like whatever, Oh my god,
did you see her? And Mint took over my birthday stream.

Speaker 2 (59:20):
Yeah, I want to go try and take over, but
you're already done.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
I wasn't done. They were the ones in charge of it.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
I was like ready to go on. I'm like I'm
gonna take over too. And then it was over and
I was.
