Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, everyone, Tony from Hack the Movies here today. We're
talking about Jumanji, which is turning thirty and getting another sequel.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Can you small? Is that one right? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I guess I don't. I didn't watch the other ones. Anyway,
it's the original Jumanji. Does it still hold off? Let's
find out today on Hack the Movies. Apes Talk talking
talk talk, talking about tapes. Frank, Hello, Tony, Frank, So
Superman my thing? Oh wait, we're not talking about.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Superman them all right? Did we do them all?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I think we did most of them. We did all
the solo ones. Over there on the floor. Over there
is my big box VHS of the original Supercer prepping.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, we're prepping.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
But yes, Jumanji. I put this on the list because
this was a big movie for us growing up again.
Been saying it all the year. We've been covering a
lot of big nineteen ninety five annivers I didn't realize
like how big of a year that was for like
our generation. Huge, that was huge.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
That was that was I mean to me, the nineties were,
you know, the best time for me.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, but like ninety five specifically for me anyway, It's
like Mortal Kombat, Casper, this movie, Batman Forever, Forever, and
it just keeps going and going until.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I wore this shirt for Batman Forever. Actually bought this
shirt the other day. I saw it. It was it says
July fifteenth on it, which is my son's birthday. Oh,
and I was like, ah, God, I got that's from Hush.
That's a Hush cover. I gotta spend the.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
What's the year saying two thousand three. Yeah, that's from Hush.
That's gym, that's one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, there you go, there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I got excited just it sounds birthday on it, and
I was like, I gotta buy it.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But yes, Jumandi, this is a very, very big one.
This was like post Jurassic Park, so everyone's upping their
special effects.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
This this Jurassic Park was made so that Jumanji could run.
Oh really, that's that's why the.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Actual or.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Jurassic could run. I'm working on a kid. It's been
a long day, but I'm gonna wake up.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
You're out of practice. You're out of practice.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
It's been a while, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
So yeah. This is of course based on the book Jumanji,
written and illustrated by Chris Van.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Allsberg, do you ever read the book? My school had
this book, so we had the book and watched, you know,
in the animated series and everything else with it because
we love this movie, so me and my sister's kids.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
The book is great. I love that guy's like artwork,
Like he's just black and white art. Just looked like
a picture coming to live.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
They even took like exact shots from the book and
put them put them in the movie.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
And of course the book is like loose on story. Really,
it's just two kids find a magic board game. Things
come out of it. They got to finish it before
their parents come home. You obviously got a lot of
legal room to add a bunch of plot lines and stuff.
It was like when they did Where the Wild Things Are.
It's like that book's not very long. You have to
come up with something for the plot.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I didn't watch the movie, but big on the book
as a kid.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
That was all right. That wasn't as good as Stramachi.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Wow, not even the sequels or as good as the original.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
But yeah, I forgot like how good the book is
because the movie uses really big moments from it and
really brings it to life. So yeah, Peter Gruber, famous
producer who produced Batman nineteen eighty nine. He wanted to
produce this, and the writer of the book actually wrote
a screenplay that was mostly abandoned.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, well they sent it to to.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Oh god, oh Robin Williams after this. So after this,
Trimark goes to make it, they'll say said they'll finance it.
Rob Williams turns it down.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
So then the director Joe Johnson, who was an effects
guy who became a director. He ended up directing. The
year before this, he did the live action sequences in
Page Master, which I reviewed last year, and I fumbled
the episode because I forgot to turn Casey's mic on. No,
you missed that whole thing, the whole the whole episode.

(04:05):
I had the mic plugged into the wrong port.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Did you still?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
So me her and prison mic filmed the bonus thing,
and then I went, he's not here anymore. Let me
turn off Mike three, not realizing it was actually Mike two. Yeah,
so her microphone is next to her face in the wall.
It sounds like garbage. Still a fun episode, So you
still you still played it? You still put it out there? Right? Yeah?
Just every time that it was the thirtieth head verse,

(04:30):
and I had like nothing else that I could put.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
No agreed, But then every time that she spoke, it
was just really like farah from the mic. Yeah, you
should have just cut her out all together, so that
even when it came to her talking, it was just
pure silence. Some people would have been like, wow, Tony
really does hate women. What a fucking dick.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Years ago, me and before stream Yard had the local
recording where it could record everyone, you had to record
yourselves individually. Me and her did a commentary track and
I forgot to record my end, so we did it
for Doom and it's I was like, well, mane, if
you want to release a commentary track, that's just you
reacting to me and no one talking.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
That's good. So that was my bed anyway, my MIC's on, right, Yes,
your mic is on.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
We're getting let ye. But yeah. Very famous director. He
would end up directing big movies like Jurassic Park three,
Captain America, the First Avenger, I believe, a bunch of films.
Very competent director. He rewrote the film with Jonathan Hensley
who did Diehard three and I think the first Punisher movie.

(05:37):
Greg Taylor and Jim Strain. They rewrote the film and
gave it back to Robin Williams and he's like, Okay,
now I'm on board. Apparently Joe Johnson was afraid to
work with Robin Williams because he was known for improving.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, and which they still let him do a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
They let him do a little bit, but like, I
get why he would be wearing because he was at
this point this is like Genie and toys and stuff.
He's known for making topical references and it's like, your
character has been stuck in a jungle for twenty seven years.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
You can't be able to do that.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah. So apparently Rob Williams was like super easy to
work and he's like, I will do this. I understand.
He's like, if I could just get a take where
I could just be a little bit more free, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, And so they would do they would do the
one to the script and then.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, which which I that is the few times I've
directed acting.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I like that. Yeah, to have options, I like like, hey.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Let's do it the way it's written. Once we get that,
let's have fun with it and try different ways.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I mean, even as an actor, I try to stick
to the script and you know, and each take try
and do it the same exact way and the same
exact feel. But I love you know when when I'm
giving a little bit of that freedom minutes.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I let you do the uh your mind when you
look at the cocaine and the Christmas short that we.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Did, that fake cocaine, that fake cocaine, Grinch Booby, I
can help you out here. I know this guy your mind.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
I kind of like that when the director has an
actor had that freedom.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh fun, because it's also like if you're hiring me, like,
don't you want a little bit of you know, Frank
zest On on the character, a little bit of what
I'm doing there, you know. So it's although it is.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Weird at the studio was like it has to be
Rob Williams, I'm like.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Well they they I mean I just watched some stuff
that it was like they went after like Tom Hanks
and Arnold Swartzenegger and and all these other.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Would have been good.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
So he was a front runner for it and then
he turned it down. But then it was like all
like any big actor of the time either auditioned or
you know, was offered.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Like we can't get Jim Carrey's doing too many things
because it's nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Actually it was everyone but Jim Carre. He was like
what the fuck? But Arnold Schwartzenegger too. I saw it
was like, I was like, huh.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
That was when he that was that was Twins Junior.
He was definitely dipping into comedy. Yeah, yeah, that would
have I don't think it would have worked, but it
would have made sense why they would want him at
that time for this movie. Yeah, it wouldn't have worked.
I'm gonna stress that. It would have been terrible, but
I get them mentality behind it.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Would I would pay to hit.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
I would definitely watch.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
I mean, technically we got something like it, you know
when when The Rock remade it in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
God, which I still have not seen any of those.
But of course as soon as I put this on
the calendar, like the next day, they're like, Jumanji, what
would it be four coming?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, yeah, I just saw that.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Technically five, but we'll get into that the.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
I mean, it's still technically three because it's not connected
to the originals whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
He there was he there was, wasn't there like a
reference to him? Rob Williams in the first one. I
didn't watch it. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah, it's not going to watch.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Technically, there was another sequel, but I'll talk about that
at the end.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Huh okad Well they were talking about doing another one
with Robin Yeah, and then and then he passed away. Yeah,
so rest in peace, God rest his soul.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
You know, some things don't need sequels. I don't think
Chumanji well.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, it was also hitting that like twenty year mark
where they were like, oh dude, let's hurry up.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
And I do know he read for an audio book
for it, did he? Yeah, in like twenty eleven. I
think he did audio books for he like narrated the
audio books.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Awesome, it was cool.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
The effects were done by Amalgamated Dynamics Studio ADI, who
did a lot of the Alien and Predator movies. They
weren't stan Winston, but they worked for Stan Winston, so
their work is pretty much just as good as stan Winston's.
So they did all the practical effects like the big
plant monster, the lions and everything.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
They created a new program for the lion with the
the way that the hair lies on like an animal
or a body through I forget what the wording is
for that, wait.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
For the practical one or the CGI model. For the
CGI model, that's a different studio, that is ILM who
did Jurassic Park, Star Wars and stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
So they were like, hey, man, I reach you teach No,
but you're right, You're right.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
They were adding because hair was really hard to do
in the early.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Nine That's why all the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were
turned into reptiles with just skin. Because they knew they
knew that dinosaurs actually had firm and feathers and all
that at the time, but they were late. So then
they went and they I'm telling you facts now.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
So then they went to all the local scientists and
they said, hey, can you make sure that it's on
the news tomorrow that hey, it's confirmed dinosaurs don't have
fur feathers, just so that everyone knows you. Next week
the trailer for Jurassic Park came.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Then they also said, hey, can you pretend that velociraptors
that are three feet high and found in Asia also
were six feet tall and found in Utah or Montana.
They said that too. To go back and watch our
Jurassic Park episode. Mean Clayton pointed out all the inconsistency.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I'll have to check it out.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, Montana, they found a velociraptor and it's like there
was something similar here, but it was found after the movie.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Anyway, maybe they saw the future.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Anyway, ILM comes in to do all the CGI stuff
and uh, yeah, fur was something new. Yeah did it
work for some of the animals. We'll get to that point.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I mean it's there's I.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Will say a lot of the effects in this still
look really great. I watched the Latest like HG one.
I mean, you guys are probably seeing the VHS footage
because I have the tape still. Uh, but there are
there's one species of animal in this that you watch
and you go, oh, this is nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Bit dude. It's a product of its time. It's like,
you know, it brings you back to nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
It's like last year we uh we did Island of
Doctor Moreau and that has really cool, practical like makeup effects.
Not a great movie. It's a mess.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
It's a guy baby, right.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, the brando of Alcoolmer. But like it has all
these great makeup effects. And then I guess CGI was
new and at one point one of the monsters CGI and.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
You're like, oh my god, oh look Marlon Brando agreed to.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
This the guy. But yeah, like I said, this was
a big one. I saw this in the theater. Did
you see this in the theaters when it came out?

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I was too young, I was what it was. So
I was four years old most likely did not see
it in the theater, but only one year older than you,
I think, just don't think I did. The first The
first movie I ever saw in a theater was Aladdin?
What yard did Aladdin come out? Was that night?

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I was ninety two?

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Is that ninety two?

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, it's funny. I was the re release we talked about. Actually,
I think I talked about this with ninety two. I
think I talked about this with uh in the mississtal
Fire episode. I think Aladdin is the first movie I
remember seeing. I don't know if it's the first one
I saw in theaters. With the first one I remember
seeing in theaters.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
But so then that was like yeah, so then it
just played in a theater again sometime and.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yeah, maybe they did re release it, so yeah, what
happened whatever?

Speaker 2 (12:39):
It was okay, But we me and my sister used
to watch this movie on repeat. We got so excited
about it. We bought the board game, and you know,
would constantly be playing Inviting friends over Friends probably game. No.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
I was gonna see if I can hunt down the board.
You know.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
The actual board game went up for sale, was like
found and went up for sale in like the twenty
ten sometime. Do you know how much it went for?
How much do you want to take a guess?

Speaker 1 (13:03):
A million?

Speaker 2 (13:04):
A million?

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Wow, like probably three thousand. I really liked this movie
three hundred thousand too.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
How much did it go for?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Sixty three thousand? Really? Yeah? I know I would think
that it would go for a lot more than that.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Wait, maybe there were multiple board games used.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Well yeah, there was most likely multiple board games used.
But still, I mean for one of the original boards
from this movie to go and for someone to buy it,
I mean sixty three grand, I would think, like, yeah,
upboards of like one hundred thousands.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Yeah, it depends on like what was it used? Was
it just the one that they didn't use? I figured
it'd be higher. Yeah, but let's buy it. Go buy
it out.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Look, if it's up for sale, I'm buying.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
I was always curious about the Jumanji board game they
made after the movie.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
How what did they do with the little screen?

Speaker 1 (13:49):
How did that say different things?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
What did Oh you slid the card in? Ah? Right,
you slid the card in and then it like turned
green and you could read it through there, or it
did one of those things. Where did it do one
of those things to where you couldn't see what it
said and then when you slid it in then it
showed up. That might have been it, you know what
I'm saying, Like with the lens that.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I don't know, I never got, I never know anyone
who owned it.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Does that sound dumb? No, that's gotta be it.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I never know anyone who owns trace.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
If you're watching, hurry up google it.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
She messes me today and I responded with I'm waiting
on your brother.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
That's why she didn't call me back. She was like,
those motherfuckers never called me.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
But yeah, let's get into this film. Yes, so it's
eighteen sixty nine. We see two boys sixty nine trying
eighteen sixty nine. We see two boys trying to bury
a box that.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
They're terrified of porn stash.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yes, they're eighteen sixty nine porn stash, just drawings of
women showing ankles.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
We don't want mom to find this, really say, I
don't know where my brain.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
They drew a stick figure with circles for boobs and
they went, oh, this is evil. We got to bury it.
But we can tell that they have knowing what we
know now. It's like they clearly had their own adventure
something and survived, and we're like, we got to get
rid of this thing. But the game is not done.
It constantly has that drum that calls to them.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Do you think that they played with two other people
and the other people died or ah? I think it's.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Horrible possible, just the thought probably, Okay, that's what happened.
That's why their parents, aren't They played with their parents.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Or they turned into monkeys and they were like, fuck,
dude was a monkey now? Man?

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah? I like how the game is just like they're like,
it's coming after me.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
They're like leaving. You can hear that anywhere, and you're like.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Oh, so they're able to bury it. And we see
this little marker like saying where it is, like a
little address marker, and then we cut to nineteen sixty nine.
Uh and we see this kid biking around town Alan
Parish being chased by bullies.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Some whimsical music, yes.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Whimsical music playing the nineties. Everyone was on bikes. It
was very whimsical. There were bullies.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Everywhere in New Hampshire.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
And he rides all the way to his father's factory
to run away from the bullies.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Guy runs a town man, Yeah he does.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
We realized later on that the whole town was built
on this factory, basically.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Really relying on the parishes. Yeah, to not fuck up.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
And his dad is Jonathan Hyde who was in Titanic
and the guy who gets eaten by the snake and
the waterfall in Anaconda. Yes, the ass whole British guy.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah. We are about to get another Anaconda too. Yes. Wow.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
And me and Johannah have been planning a what is
the worst Anaconda episode? We were we were gonna do it.
How many are there? One second, Frank, how many of
how many anacondas you say.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
But they're like directed, Well, here we go.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
We have just Anaconda, Anaconda's Hunt for the Blood Orchid
Anaconda three Offspring starring David Hasselhoff.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Oh fuck the hof.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Anaconda's Trail of Blood starring Crystal Allen and Jonathan Reyes,
Davies and Davies and Lake Placid versus Anaconda and a
Chinese remake from twenty twenty three. So what is that? One, two, three, four, five, six. Now, Frank,
you're probably asking how many lake Placids are they? Well,

(17:45):
there's lake Placid, Lake Placid two, blake Placid three, Lake
Placid four, Lake Placid five, and Lake Placid versus Anakon.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
And they're all connected. Like it's like like is.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
There little pretty much?

Speaker 2 (17:57):
I guess you don't have to connect those right, like,
because like, what's what's really.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
The funny thing is that the crocodile wasn't called lake Placid.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Well, yeah, but they do. They all take place in
Lake Placid.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
That was the other thing in the first Lake Placid
movie they mentioned that it's not actually even called lake Placid.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Really, Yeah, go.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Back and watch her Anaconda and our Lake Placid episode.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Does Does Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube ever show back? No?

Speaker 1 (18:26):
They couldn't even get Betty White to come back for
Lake Placid too. They replaced her with Chlorus Leachman. Anyway,
let's get back to juman.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
She Oh god, is this the alligator that's in the
end of our film Jumanji.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
No, that would be an insult to this alligator.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
In this movie, they were all connected worlds.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
And anyway, so yeah, Jonathan Hyde is the dad. Uh.
He yells at him for being there, and then he
tells him he needs to fight his bullies. He's like, hey,
you gotta stand up for yourself. Stop running away all
the time. Be a man.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Quit being a coward kid. Yeah, fiss up, get punched
in the math couples.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yes, these are important lessons that I will be teaching
in my Manisphere class that I'm starting about how to
be a man. This is less than one stand up
to your bullies.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
You're teaching it. Oh yeah, okay, yeah, sign me up. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
I signed up for Hustler's University and I took some
notes and I have ways to improve it.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
So anyway, you have PhD.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Degree.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
So uh.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
He has a friend there called Carl played by David
Allen Greer, who has an idea for a new shoe
called the sneaker. I guess he was going to invent
sneakers the parishes. I guess that's what they would have been.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Called Parish on the side, right, Yes, so yeah parish
because then like because then like you know, you kind
of butter up your boss a little bit to where
it's like, dude, you definitely want to invest in making these. Plus,
let's contact Wilt to still let him know, you know,
that he should be wearing them.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Yeah, he wants Will Chamberlain to with that. He has
this whole idea to make these basketball sneakers that are
going to like change the world. But yeah he's showing uh,
Alan who leaves on the conveyor belt, I want to
see that multiverse?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah, I just want to say something. This is the
best multiversal movie.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
The Yeah, I have a lot of questions about how
the multiverse works in this. The separate timeline.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
The best one because it's kind of horrifying, even better
than the flash. This was wonderful Somanji flashpoint paradigm.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
So Alan leaves and the sneaker goes in the conveyor
belt and destroys the machine and Carl gets blamed for
it and then fired. That's like that's crazy to men.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Then he got fired like that, like you know, just
because a shoe that he so is he you think
that mister Parrish has pissed because a shoe that had
parish written on the side went.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Through and got rid of and broke the machine.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
I get, did the machine break?

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I used the machine bro Yeah, all right, that's why
I got.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I gotta reay. Yeah. I guess you lose like a
day or two of work with that.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
I just thought that like he heard like something going
through grinding, and then someone stopped the machines. They were like, whoa,
what's going through? Now?

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Broke the machine? So fucked.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
But the factory, we learn is built on top of
where they buried the box. They're adding like an expansion
to the factory. And apparently nine sixty nine, a kid
could just walk onto a construction site, wow, and all
the people working there will just not even paying any time,
like oh yeah, we're on break. Fuck you kid.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
He could be you know, known around town by these
construction workers that he is, you know, a parish, because
I mean, the power.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Get you in the factory, the construction workers gonna be like,
I don't care who your dad is, they're not allowed.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
To be here.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
You'll die.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
This town is built off of the parishes.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
That's why Allan, Yeah, the best interest to keep the
kid alive and not have the construct.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I mean, it was just the beginning stages, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Uh so, Yeah, he walks around, he hears the drums,
he digs the chest out of the wall.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah. Question, yeah they stop that. What are the chances
they stopped that construction right on the edge of where
that chest is behind that wall?

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Pretty good? I guess it's pretty good, right, good enough
that the chest knew that it was in hearing distance
of a kid that would dig it out of the wall.
How sentient is the board game?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
It's alive?

Speaker 1 (22:30):
And what demon made this board game? That's what I
want to know. Demon dude, why did Satan make this
board game that in the Rock sequels?

Speaker 2 (22:39):
I'm not sure they really should. They should progressively get
darker now later the literal devil made. I mean, it
definitely has has its own mind to where there could be,
you know, a bunch of people around and only one
per one person.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Here's it. It was funny. You think it's random, but
at one point it punishes them like okay, so it
has like a brain anyway.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
It's even like you know, it's controlling the game. A
little bit like you know what what comes out of it?
And when, like, because who says that? You know you
roll a three and this is what.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
You get four and you die for real, just like
the movie Stay Alive that I reviewed with Crystal reasons.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
That's a cool one. Who's in that one? That's what Frank.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Well we watched the unrated directors. Ah, so yeah, inside
the chest is a board game and he's looking at it.
Later on, then he's at home and his parents are
gonna go out for like some meeting or whatever.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yeah, his dad's winning some kind of award or some
some honorary night or something. So it really shows that
the town really looks up like he runs everything.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Man, yep, this is this is it. And I do
like that the dad apologizes a little bit to him.
He's like, all right, well, I'm glad you stood up
for yourself. I didn't realize there were like five kids
because he gets his ass kicked Alan. I do think
the dad was just like, it's probably one kid.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
He's like, oh five, shit, the whole town hates you.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I'm like, oh yeah, he probably should have ran away.
That was He's like, but I'm glad you suck up
for yourself, and just as a gift, I'm putting you
on boarding school.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Hey. You know when I was when I was Alan
Parrish's age and I moved to you know, another another place,
another town. I rode my bike to school the first
day of school, and the whole grade chased me home
on their bikes and tried to kick my ass and
I had to hide in my newfound girlfriend's house. And
everyone was mad that I was, you know, I guess

(24:32):
dating this girl that they all liked for so many years.
And the new kid came in, was that real and
started dating her? And then you know, that day after school,
I hopped on my bike. Don't look at them, look
at me. That day I hopped on my bike after
school and I rode through the whole neighborhood. And then
I got to my girlfriend's house and they I got in,

(24:52):
they locked the door. I run upstairs. The kids that
were chasing me, broke the back window, ran into the
house upstairs. I somehow maneuvered my way and jumped down
the staircase and got out, got to the front yard
where everyone was surrounding me. The kid that was kind
of running the whole thing we kind of had it
out right there. I lost obviously, I'm a lover, not

(25:15):
a fighter. Bit and then and now what is this
twenty some years later? The kid that was running it
all is the only kid that I'm still friends with.
Huh yeah. The rest of them, I mean we became friends.
We were all cool, you know, we were friends for
like ten years. We all fell through whatever, But the
kid that was running it we're still boys. And you

(25:36):
know who you are. I'll clip this, I'll send it
to you if Tony keeps it any precice.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
It was a very real story.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Dude, I swear to God that really was.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
And I'm sure, well, Frank, I have a real story.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Before we were filming, right, I was playing a board
game with this girl that I like whose boyfriend doesn't
like me because my dad is rich. And you'll never
believe it. I had to stop playing to film this
right now. She got sucked into the game, she did,
but a bunch of animals got out. So occasionally throughout

(26:08):
this review, you might see an animal. Oh there's one
right there. Oh, we got an animal in the store.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Did you see that animal? What is that? Is that?

Speaker 1 (26:14):
A rhinoceros?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
By chance, is that what you would call that animal?

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Yes, that we got a rhinoceros in the store, Frank,
because that really happened, much like your story of running away.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
From it really happened.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
I'm sure it did anyway, I was there anyway, He
doesn't want to go to boarding.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Sorry, I swear to God, the whole neighborhood wanted to
kick my ass.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Well, you probably had it coming anyway. Uh debatable.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
We can we can call them all right now, put
them on speaker phone and ask him one by one.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Well, listen, listen. Alan is upset that his dad said
I'm proud of you. Get the fuck out of here.
But the dad's all like, right, but we all have
been to that school. He's like, everyone in this town
hates me because I'm your son. Now you're gonna send
me to a school with a building named after me.
They're all gonna hate me there. And he's just like, ah,
shut up, kid. The kids there probably don't even know
who you are. But they get into a fight, and

(27:05):
the kid's just like, I never want to see you ever.
I don't ever want to talk to you ever again.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Famous last words.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yes, yes, Uh So they leave very angrily and then
a girl comes over. Was it Sarah Sarah, Sarah Whittle,
Sarah Whittle. She comes over and she's like, sorry that
my boyfriend beat you up or whatever, and he's just
like he was ready to run away. Yeah, but he's like, hey,
a girl came over, so I'm getting rid of those plans.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
I love that he packed his U case, was about
to walk out the door. I don't know where to hell,
he was about to go jump on his bike and
just but he's like.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
I need to bring that board game with me with
all the friends. I'm gonna make out in the wild.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
But also like you know, she comes over and then
he's like about to walk out the door, and he
hears the drum and he's like, shit, do you.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Want to play? So yeah, she rolls the dice and
she gets something about bats. I mean, here's some squeaking,
but they don't see anything yet. And then Alan, which
you're right, this game really this game like went way
too hard, way too quick. I mean it's like the

(28:13):
first thing bats that you don't see right away, Okay,
second thing, you're gonna get sucked in the game until
someone rolls a five or an eight. He gets like
sucked into a portal and then the bats chaser out
of the house.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
The game's probably pissed because those kids from the eighteen
hundreds beat it the last time that somebody played it,
so the game was probably like, oh, yeah, now here's
my chance to really get back at the world. Yeah.
And then once Alan got sucked into the game, one
of those bats came with him, and his biggest fears
whole life was bad. And then he trained in the
board for twenty six years and when he came out,

(28:53):
he became batman.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Of course, of course is that it? Oh yeah, but
the bats are cool. They're mostly CGI, but there is
a practical one that clim on her at.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
School, which looked really good. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
So then we flash forward twenty six years. A woman
is looking at the parish house. She wants to show
it to some kids, Judy and Peter. Yeah Judy played
by Kirsten Dunst.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Yes, young Kirsten dunt Yeah, look at her.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Go uh, their parents died recently and I forgot this
watching that, Like Judy does this running gag where she
makes up how they died, and I was wondering, like
what that was about?

Speaker 2 (29:29):
And they never really.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Explained why she's doing that.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
So it was more so just I think, just a
kid's reaction to it. So like she didn't know how
to cope with it, so her reaction is to make
other people feel uncomfortable or kind of make a joke
out of it to kind of make her feel a
little bit better. Because the same thing with Peter. Then
he's not speaking, Yeah that's it.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
That speaks to her, but he doesn't talk to anyone.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Else, So that's his coping mechanism with it. Plus it
adds a little bit of comedy into a morbid part I.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Guess film, Like she's just like they did this, this this,
It's like they car accident, Yeah, what was it?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Shoe they were on they died on like the Sheik
spot or something something like that. It's like what so
the ant right did she take?

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Not take?

Speaker 2 (30:13):
But like did she get granted to parents' money or
did were they all just like a rich family like
her brother was just they grew up in a very
rich family, Like yeah, their parents were rich. And then
it was like it's old money. Do you think it's
old money or do you think that she is? Because
I get this, like I get this vibe from from
the ant that like, it wasn't her money, but now

(30:34):
she's given that money, And now was her brother going
on like kind of a shopping spree instead of like
asking the kids what they want?

Speaker 1 (30:40):
You know what, it's her brother, so he probably left
her in charge. Yeah, so they mean the kids probably
have money that's in an account whatever, but she's probably
in charge of it.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Splurging a little bit.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Do you think she's using this money. I think she
needs to buy that. She is a business owner.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I think she's splurging.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
She is trying to make that into her own business.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
So so yeah, you know, just to thought I could
be wrong.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
It is fun watching these kids movies as adults. Now,
we never had these questions thinking of this. We were like, yeah, okay,
so she is the executor of his to think about that.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
All that's they're in I haven't it. He's wonderful too, Peter.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Later that day, he sees a bat in the attic
one of the bats from earlier freaks.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Out just like Batman Forever.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, one theater over Batman.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, playing at the same exact time. Dude, you could
have walked into this movie at this moment and You're like,
so this is how Bruce becomes and then you're like, wait,
wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
I like that they call the exterminator and they describe
what the bat is. They show them a picture. He's like,
that's an African bat. And then he's just like, they
don't live around here. He's like some girl in the
sixties said she saw that same exact bat. Crazy and
I'm like, you know, think that's a coincidence.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
I wish I wish they made the exterminator Billy, the
kid that beat up. Oh, that would have been funny,
so like he could have been.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
But now I'm thinking about him, like, I guess the
bats didn't really thrive in that new environment if there's
not many of them.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
I mean, the one at least lasted twenty six years
and then but what is that? I mean, could have
had babies and yeah, branched off and then you know.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
That's aren't the best survivors, uh, I mean, if it
hung out, New England isn't a good climate for like
an African bat.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
I don't know what are they what are they eating
grapes or mice or.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Yeah, I don't think there's a lot of stuff for
them to eat up there.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
But I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
I don't know somehow, although I also don't know if
these are magic bats that could just look forever.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, I get yeah, I guess you're right. They could
be magic bats. They're not your usual African bat.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
He the exterminator gets the idea in their head that
a kid died there Alan Parish, and the rumor is
that since he went missing, that the dad killed him
and chopped him up and hit him around the house.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
So now they're dealing with that in their head. They're like,
did someone just get murdered here?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Is that when we're living?

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yeah? Then we see a montage of the house being
decorated by the ant all in one day.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
I mean it starts off with it it's your first
day of school. Then a huge montage of that thing
getting fully furnished. I'm like, bullshape. She could have just
done those two rooms, right, I mean, like and the like,
I can't believe I have to see the principal after
your first day Like that was I thought that was
a week.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Again.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
I didn't think about it as a camping out. I'm like,
it takes me like a week to clean up one room.
She set that up in one day.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Yeah, man, I mean, you know, she could have just
done you know, the two rooms that she did right there.
You know, she was jamming out.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
So I wonder what he did. I guess he just
didn't talk at school and that's why they.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Made or I'm sure she got all smart and got
into a fight. So Judy gets grounded that night, and
then she hears the drums and she talks to Peter,
who does talk, and they hear the drums at night.
The next morning they hear it again, but the ant
doesn't hear it. Yeah, so I guess only kids hear it.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Well it chooses, I guess. Yeah, games a dick.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
So instead of going to school, they decide to play
the game, and the two pieces are already on the board,
so the game is still in motion. Yeah, it's still
in motion because of the other two. They roll a thing,
they get a little fun quote, and they get attacked by.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Mosquitos, scariest mosquitos. Yes, those things.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
We're terrifying, horrible, And then, like an idiot, Peter decides, hey,
when then't I roll the dice?

Speaker 2 (34:29):
But yeah, I mean they got lucky with the you
know that she had a tennis racket right there with
some tennis skills and hit it right out the window
and then the rest of them go chasing after it.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
What so they they just unleashed giant mosquitoes into the world,
and then the dice roll unleashes monkeys in the kitchen
CGI monkeys that did not age well at all. They
looked so bad. I mean they look good for its
for no, they look bad all right for its time

(35:03):
and now and forever. They will always look bad.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
I mean. They also made those monkeys to like, not
look like your regular monkey at the time, you know,
like they wanted to make it look like a little bit.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
I don't think they could make it.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
They tried, yeah, well yeah, but I heard something. They
wanted to make it look like monkeys.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
We can all agree that they don't look as real
as those monkeys that are in the God, get out
of here, monkey. Now, these look like real monkeys. They're
not CGI, get out monkey.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Oh come on wow.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Anyway, the most were monkeys. The monkeys look terrible. They
were not ready for fur. They were not ready for
that much fur. Their faces look creepy, they move weird.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Again, it was they didn't look as good as the line.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
But yeah, I don't know how realistic would have been
to have like twenty real monkeys on set. That probably
would have been a nightmare and dangerous. But uh yeah,
would it looked better?

Speaker 2 (36:02):
That would have been a mess.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Yeah. Every time I watched this movie, I'm like, Wow,
it looks great. Then the monkey show up and I'm.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Like, ah, really, huh see, that's when I start to
have a good time.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Well, they roll again, and this time this effect does
look good. They get a fucking lion in the house. Yes,
I think looks awesome.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
That one looked awesome.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
It doesn't look quite as good as the lions in
A Ghost in the Darkness, which I reviewed in August.
Remember the movie with Val Kilmer, Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas.
They're Hiding Lions. It was based on a true story.
You missed this movie. Oh it's good.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
This movie, it's good.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
It's good.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
All right, I'll check it out you real life.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
The lions didn't have a maine in the movie. They
have mains. Wow, but that movie's awesome. This lion looks good.
Doesn't look as good as the lions in that one.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
But this line line did pretty good. I mean it's
it's a little it's practical effects mixed with.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, it's only cgi when it's running, which is good.
But the puppet looked awesome. Was like the cool lying.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
When it first you know, comes out of the darkness, right.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, oh yeah that look that shot is so good.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
This movie is like scary. You're like, oh yeah, dude,
yeah yeah, this.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Movie is like if this is one of those like
fun scary movies for kids, it's.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Like a lot of comedy through it. I mean Robin
Williams said that he didn't show it to his kids
right away because they were too young.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Some of the monsters, like the plant thing is terrifying.
There are some really terrifying things in this. Yeah, that's
why it's fun. Like it's fun for like a five
six year old.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, I mean I try to think back, you know,
did we watch this like right when it came out
or was it a couple of years after that? But like,
I definitely I was super.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I might show the twins this. Then again, they're operating
on a different timeline than most people.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Yeah, how old are they?

Speaker 1 (37:43):
They just turned three? But we've watched all the Jurassic
Parks and you know what.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
You know what they say, They say Jurassic Park walked,
so that Jumanji and so if they watched that, they
can watch this.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
So yeah, the monkeys are running amuck. Uh so they're
just like, okay, line is they locked the lion? Oh no, no,
the lion is chasing them. They roll again and they
get rescued.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Well no, then they Peter rolls and it's a five. Yeah,
they get the lion. They get the line because he
rolled a five, so it's like a double one.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Alan Parrish comes flying through. Yeah, like whoa with.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
The fairy leaves and everything, which is awesome.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah, he had a watch when he was a kid
and he's still wearing that watch. Yeah, comes out like
it's like, you know, he's got little tidbits to it.
I mean I didn't notice anything on the rest of them,
but yeah, you would think that he would have ripped
up close and used him through the years. But yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
But yeah, he's been living there for twenty six years.
He comes out, he chases the lion, locks it in
the one bedroom. But I like that he's scared of them.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I'm I'm just shocked that the amount of deadly things
that we see come out of this board game. Yeah,
and that he lived there and got through it over
twenty six years is like you always want to, you know,
get a peek into that world and see what it's
really like. And then you get the rock Jumanji and
you're like, this isn't that scary?

Speaker 1 (39:09):
This? This is this because they go into it, don't they.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yeah, they go into it. But it's also not like
as dark as the original Jumi, like the vines and
all the other like stuff that comes out.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Like, dude, like this is I saw the trailer for
the first one.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Yeah, so I'll stop bringing it.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
The Redhead's hot, but watch that come.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
On, are we right?

Speaker 1 (39:30):
I can watch her and other things? So yes, uh,
he's back, baby.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
That's why they brought in Arnold Schwarzenegger. Can you imagine, dude,
that this scene would.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Have killed He thanks the kids for releasing them. He
thinks they're his younger brother and sister and he's looking
for his mom and dad.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah. He plays this so well, man, He's perfect for
this role. You know, a lot of drama through it
with those com moments.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
And then yeah, man, and he runs outside and he
bumps into his old friend Carl David Allen Gray are
all growing up.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
They don't make movies like this anymore, Yeah don't.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Yeah, well, I mean they're making Jumanji movies, but they're
not like this.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Wow. Yeah, I mean I was I text you about
it the other last night when I when I was
watching this that it's like you don't get this type
of feeling out of like movies like this anymore where
like everything that's that's like this fantastical and a little
bit of comedy and drama and it just feels like
overacted or like overproduced or just over or it.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Has to be a franchise. It can't just be its own.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yeah, good thing.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
Like if a movie was good, you could give it
a sequel, but back in the day, you'd be like,
that was just a really good movie.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Yeah, all right, let's move on to the next good movie.
Just saying even like just like the comedy and this one,
like like movies like this these days always feel over
the top, yeah, to where this was just like it
felt real. All the actors acted it as if it
was like a real thing and real drama happening.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
I did say. Reviews were mixed with it first came
out because they thought it was favoring special effects. But
I think it blends pretty story and character.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
And was it iber? Roger and Ebert gave it one
Roger and Ebert?

Speaker 1 (41:10):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (41:11):
What was her name? Criscol and Ebert and.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
Then it was Ebert and Roper, but yeah, yeah, well
whichever ones that it was, Uh, they gave it a
one point five. I think, oh, they didn't like it
that much. Well. Barry crutch Nick said it's an exciting,
thrilling adventure the whole family will love, and Jim Fergusson said,

(41:34):
an adventure ride for the entire family, edge of your
seat excitement.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Could you just find like it? Could they have came
to me and said, hey, can you say something nice
and just put on there. Frank Volpey says it's a
wild ride for the family haha. And then people were like, oh, dude,
this guy, Frank Volpey, he must be like, must be
like really big and knows what he's saying.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
He's a literal child. Frank Volpey said, lions scared me.
I peede, Oh it's.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
Not what I said, Tony, I said, kids chase me
just like Allan I can't connect with this film.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Yeah, Carl is a cop and like Alan finally realizes
how long he's been gone. It's starting to click in. Yeah,
but well that's happening. The monkey steal the cops car.
They fire off the shotgun, they blow the roof off
of this car. Gets just total throughout the whole movie.
I forgot about that running gag of the cars just
getting more and more.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
And he when he jumps on the car and he goes,
he goes, what year is it? And then Carl gets dound.
He's like, well it's ninety five.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
I mean he's like no, no, no, no, it right now.
And they try to like lie to Carl. They're like
he's our uncle or something like that. But yeah, he
runs away and he looks at the town which went
to ship Yeah, and there's porn stores everywhere. That store
is still open, the rest are closed. Yeah. He walks by.
It's like XXX sports.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Jesus, I mean the ran in the town, dude without
And he goes to the shoe factory, which is like
it burnt at one point.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
It's a real shit show. And he's like this used
to be the best shoe factory ever. And he finds
an old guy living there.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
Then he thought that it was his dad at first.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Yeah, he was just a homeless guy. And I went, bullshit,
look how big that place is. There'll be fifty homeless
guys in there right now. I mean I looked at
it like, and they wouldn't be like giving exposition. They'd
be screaming and yelling and shooting.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
This is mine. I found it.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Get out. Oh he's like, let me give you some clothes.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
You're like, get the fuck over my math. It's my mat.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
Yeah, this is just the nicest man in the road.
It's like, ah, yes, Alan Parrish disappeared and his father
loved him so much, and he he just was all sad.
And here's my dog that I just love and don't
use for sympathy to get people to tip me.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
And have a nice fire burning. Why don't you come
on in.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
I'll get you a cup of tea. I have a
nice fire in this building that should be condemned. I'm
sure that won't get out of hand. And then here's
some clothes that may or may not have lice.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Okay, So when I watched this thirty years ago, right,
I probably thought like, oh wow, yeah, it's a nice
homeless man that has this shit together and with just
bad got you know, down on his luck, you know,
but now you found this nice place where you can
live at. Watching it now, I'm like, oh, well, maybe
like this guy bought the building for real cheap, or
his dad bought the building for real cheap when it

(44:20):
all went under, and he's just kind of been living
there just now.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
This is movie homeless, Okay, this is like The Lady
and Home Alone two, And I'm like, no, she would
be schizophrenic and shitting herself and trying to stab him.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, I guess. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
I don't know why movies in the eighties and nineties
were trying to tell us that homeless people were friendly.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
Thist a frout Home Alone Pigeon Lady, it is Yeah, wow,
young kids who were watching one shouldn't be watching the show.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Turn it off. Not for kids.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
I say the word a lot two.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
Don't go up to homeless people expecting warmth and comfort
and like life lessons you're gonna get. Yeah, they're pricked
with a needle.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Well no, see, Tony just hates homeless people.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
No, I don't hate them. Been around a lot of it,
have you been to La anytime recently.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I'll tell you where I haven't been lately that you have, Florida. Yeah,
those homeless people are crazy.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Have you been to uh, have you been into the
city recently? Have you been to New York by check?

Speaker 2 (45:22):
Yeah, I'm saying like movie Homeless.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Yeah, Movie Homeless is a lot different. It was what
we were doing Missus Stutfire. It was funny because movie
like Bad Apartment Robi Williams, they constantly talk about how
shitty his apartment is and we were looking at it.
We're like, that would be a million dollar apartment and
I would never be able to afford that. And they're like,
look at this shit show, Like that's the nicest apartment.

(45:47):
It's messy, but it's the nicest apartment of it.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
It's wonderful.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
What are they talk about anyway? So yeah, he finds out.
Oh and then the old guy's real cheeky. He's like,
do you know where my parents are? He's like I
see them every now and then at this address and
it cuts to tombstones and it's like that shot should.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Have been Robin Williams going fuck that homeless.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Yea, what the is that guy's problem? The fuck.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
He goes back and he burns the factory down the
rest of the way. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
So then they all bond over having dead parents. Yeah yeah,
and then uh, there's a car accident and we learned
that the bugs have just been going around poisoning everywhere.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
What are the chances that this car actually happens right
in front of them?

Speaker 1 (46:32):
All the game is constantly giving, putting them in danger
to make sure they keep they haven't played long enough.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
Hey guys remember me?

Speaker 1 (46:40):
So? Yeah? I like that. They get into the car
and he's just like, don't worry. They can't make it
through the roof, and it starts breaking through the roof.
He's like, can't make it through the window. It starts
breaking through the window. He's like, I'm gonna try to
remember how to drop it.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Does anybody know how to drive? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (46:52):
He's just like, I want back down on the driveway.
Can't be that different.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
That's awesome. Do you think that through the twenty six
years that Board Games kept trying to get Sarah Wiittle
to play.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
It was locked in that room and no other kids
went there.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
But like, how like we just said that maybe like
the mosquitoes like found where they towards where they were
and like had that car crash in front of him,
so it reminded them. Do you think that like that's
maybe also added to her why she's gone so nuts.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
I know we haven't gotten the Yeah, you think bats
were haunting her throughout the year, maybe like she.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
Was being like haunted. And then her therapist kept saying, like,
you're imagining it, Sarah, Yeah, what are you talking about.
There's no bats in your attic.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Keep looking at me.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
They're following. They really fucking wear I believe you, Sarah,
I believe you.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
But when he gets home, he avoids playing the game.
He's like, no, and then he finds a real toilet.
He's like, oh my god, no more bananaly I.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
Mean, imagine twenty six years.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
Hey, look he shaves for the first time, he gives
himself a haircut. He does better than I could have died.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
I've he never he never shaved before in his life. No,
and it's been twenty six years, Like how does he
even like? Like, I feel like if I was in
a jungle for twenty six years and I came and
I just showed up in a in a mansion like that, Yeah,
I wouldn't know left from right. Yeah, but like even
worse than this guy, Like I wouldn't even know how
to use it to it? Do I sit on that?

Speaker 1 (48:16):
I don't know, don't remember how to use the toilet.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
It's just it's Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Peter accuses Allan of being afraid, and we realized this
is Marty McFly chicken a word. If you call Marty
McFly a chicken, ho'le do it? So like you're a
free hee, Like I'm not afraid of anything. But I
like the whole speech. He's like, I've seen things, things
you can't even imagine, things you can't even see. It's

(48:41):
pretty cool what he says.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
He's just so good man, he's so like, he's such
a good straight drama, dramatic act.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
He was really good at bouncing comedy because he was
a stand up first, but he was really good at
bouncing comedy.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
One minute Photos, one hour.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
One hour photo was good. But I don't even like
quite like that. But like other films where he had
play like a serious role. So yeah, uh, they attempt
to play the game, but they realized there's no fourth player. Yeah,
so he's like, oh, we gotta find Sarah. So they
go to Sarah's house which is now Madam Serena's house,

(49:17):
and she's a psychic. Turns out of this Sarah uh
and Alan recognizes her and tells her who he is,
and she faints and then they bring her back to
the house and I like that. She's calling the therapist
and she's like, hey, you know that situation. It turns
out that was real, and I need you to call me.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Twenty six years if you're telling me that you know
it's all in my head, Well, I'm pretty sure it
was in my head. So I think that she became
Like I see that as like, you know, she became
a psychic so that you know, she doesn't have to
leave her house. She probably hasn't left her house in
the last twenty six years or something easy to work
out of her house for. Yeah, but also she was
probably picked on and everyone was like, oh.

Speaker 1 (49:53):
You were says it. She's like everyone thought I was pregnant.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
It's all you're the last one that saw Alan and
all that, so right, So like then she just went
with it and was like.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
She's believing, she's choosing to believe that the dad murdered him.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
Yeah, I like, I can talk to the Dead. It's
just I don't know why would she be a psychic?

Speaker 1 (50:09):
You know?

Speaker 2 (50:09):
So I watched that list and I was like, huh,
that's what she chose to be.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
Also, Bollviye Goldberg was a psychic and ghost in that
movie was popular. Maybe that's why.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
But anyway, huh.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
I like that he tries to convince her to play
the game. And by convincerr I mean tricks her. That
was really mean, where he's like, here, give me the
dice and then he moves it so roll.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
If that if this movie came out today, everyone would
boycott it because yeah, he was like, oh, he's picking
on a woman. What a dick. Rob Williams is a
dick and he hates women. Yes, it was so mean.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
Well, if that came out like two years ago, they
would say that now, they'd be like, we're back, baby, Yeah,
We're back. Woke is dead. I don't know this, but
the sham Well guy is running for office.

Speaker 2 (50:52):
Really sham well guy.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Is running for office and he wants to fight wokeism,
and I'm like, wocus, so cool man.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
I was thinking about running from mayor of Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (51:04):
Would you vote? I don't live in Philadelphia proper. You
don't live in Philadelphia proper. Would you vote if we
both lived in the actual phil Yeah?

Speaker 2 (51:14):
Sure, yeah, all right, cool, look at that.

Speaker 1 (51:17):
I actually make a note to not trust Italians, but
in this case, I'll make an exceense.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Well, there there was plenty of Italian mayors of Philadelphia.
There's that one guy, Frank Rizzo.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Yeah, they had a statue of him.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Is that still? Yeah? I think it's time for another
Italian mayor named Frank. And I think that I would.
I would.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
Can you spell eagles? What can you spell eagles?

Speaker 2 (51:43):
I have bird blindness, so I can't.

Speaker 1 (51:46):
Well, because our current mayor there had trouble last year
spell els. I still have the sister anyway.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
God, you know, if the acting career ever takes off,
I really might run from there.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
You should.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
I just got to have the acting career take off first.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
But you know who is running away? These people from
killer vines plants. Alright, I forgot we were on the Yeah,
the killer vines and plants. And then there's like the
most awesome carnivorous plant ever. It looks like when the
dog thing and the thing has like this weird plant
thing come out of it looks like that. It's like
this flower with tentacles and then for whatever reason, has

(52:24):
like tarantula fur and fangs on top of it. That
thing is horrifying. It almost swallows Peter Uphole.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
I think this is the part that scared me the most.
Is a kid, yeah, like terrified, can shoot the needles
at you? And yeah, can he shoot needle?

Speaker 1 (52:41):
Yeah? Yeah, but they don't shoot untill later on.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
But he mentions it here that that is something I.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Didn't spoil it. You did, I said, you know, and
then you were like, well, that's it. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
It might years ago. I guess my cousin's kid watched
this movie and he's trying to describe a movie he
saw and I wasn't getting any because he was like
four or five.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
I'm like, what the the hell are you talking talking about?

Speaker 1 (53:03):
And he goes and then the plant came and I
tried eat the boy and I went, oh, Jumanji. He's like,
that's the Book's.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
The that's the point that set it off for you
think it was horrifus shit, I know that.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
So yeah, they like, uh, right here.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Grabs the sword too. When he grabs the sword, yeah,
he gets the sword chop it and then he chop
it off and.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
It runs away. Meanwhile, Carl finds his car. It still
works when it's down. God. Alan and Sarah have a
dick measuring contest over who was more alone. I mean,
the answer is clearly Alan, because the only person I
think he interacted with as a character we're going to
meet who wants to kill him.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Yeah, that makes it really confirms that this whole board
game is just based on fear.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
Yeah. And he also choose her out for not rolling
a five or eight in twenty six years.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yeah. Well, I mean, so what what would she have done? Right?
So she would have she would have stayed, or she
went back to the board, right, that's all the bats
were going, right, She goes back to the board, and
then she's the only one playing the game, so now
she just rolls right like nobody else has to play,
and then she.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Has to keep interacting with whatever the game goes at
her until she rolls that.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Now, that would have been a good movie. I want
to see that multiversal movie. I want to see that
one where she just plays. Maybe Alan's parents come home
and then her and the parents play together. Carl knocks
on the door and he's like, hey, saw some bats
fly out. I think Carl gets to play it. Yeah,
do a lot of fun with this one.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
That would be good. So they roll, Alan rolls and
he starts to freak out because he knows what the
riddle says and he knows that the hunter Van Pelt
is coming after him. And much like Peter Pan play.
Have you ever seen a Peter Pan play, there's a
tradition to have the actor playing the dad also play

(54:55):
Captain Hook and much like that, the actor her Hide
and who plays the dad, he is also the hunter
in this yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
I mean also based on fear.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
He's yeah, and it makes sense why even do that
because like in his imagination.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
Like I'm afraid of his dad and so standing up
to his dad and.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
Yeah, you know, so Van Pelt is the hunter who
just really wants to kill him for some reason. We
don't know why. We don't know why. I Like, he's like,
I don't know what his deal is with the idea
of me is offensive to him.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
I mean because the board game, you know, kind of
makes him. You know, it's like, you know, he's programmed
to what his job is is whoever rolls for him
to come out is you know, the job is to
kill that person. But I mean, I guess because he
was sucked into the game. It was him being sucked
into the game. So now the game is like, all right,
well everyone try and kill this guy. Yeah, and now

(55:49):
the game's coming out.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
They're like, what if he died in the game. And
then she rolled a five and eight.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
Just his bones from twenty five years ago.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Some other fighting rolls, and they start to hear everything quake,
and that's when we get a stampede a stamp.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
And this is like, oh my god, oh god, stamp.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
Look at all these animals, door, everything shaking. Okay, that's over. Anyway,
that was that was insane.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (56:29):
This was the shot they used in everything, the rhinos
and everything, just breaking the bookcase and coming through the wall.
It's a big effect, which also was a big part
in the book, the rhinos running through the living room.
It was awesome. The seed is so good of them,

(56:49):
just like just storming out a whole stampede of animals
and then some asshole pelicant comes steals the god damned
yeah steals the freaking board game.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
They actually shot that with They had like a giant
steel rhino that they actually tore down that that bookcase
and then they added on the CGI and then they
also shot it beforehand with Robin coming out. Just it's
very cool setup for ninety five.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Yeah, a lot of it was sixty five million to
make this film, I think, and then it'll and then
in theaters it made two hundred and thirty three million,
and that's before VHS and everything.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
Yeah, HiT's heyday man. Yeah, like huge hit shot. They
didn't make a sequel back in ninety seven.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
Yeah. Well, like I said, there was a secret sequel.
Well okay, what did we'll get there? So yeah, I
like is chasing him he runs out of bullets. Yeah,
but I like that he goes to a gun store
and he gets this crazy because he gives them gold.
I like, he's like, I need this. He's like they
stopped making this eighteen just like, damn, give me at

(57:58):
her weapon. I'll pay for it in gold. I like
his you have these papers here, but we'll just fill
it out and I have it here. God bless America.
He's just walking with cold and we'll just give you
the most awesome sniper rifle ever got.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
Dude. They locked the doors behind him. Yeah, sure, no problem, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
Just illegally giving him the super high power gum with
the silencer.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
And it was ninety five you know, times for different
back then. I like I liked that He's like, you're
not a postal worker.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
Oh yeah, it was just a little bit of dark,
dark comedy with so many postal worker jokes back then.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1 (58:30):
Yeah, I don't think a family film is gonna have
a scene showing how funny it is to get a
gun easily. No, no, So yeah, the board game ends
up in a stream. Alan isn't able to get it.
Peter manages to get it.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Yeah, kicks ass here.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
Yeah, Alan has some respect for him.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
Now, well I think he also like starts to get
a little angry at Peter here. So like you see that,
I mean he even mentions it, but you see that,
like you know, the only way that he knows how
to treat a young man like he once was is
with you know, a little bit of anger. Yeah, you know,
trying to stand up in a tough way.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Type of thing. And and I mean he's had the
man up for twenty six years. Yeah, so now he's
dealing with you like a younger boys is not.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
Man.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
I was like, well, you just get through this, and
it's like, well you had a learning curve, asshole.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Yeah. It's also a little bit of fear of, you know,
having to be nice to a young boy like that,
you know, because his dad was never nice to him.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
Oh so all the young boys he knew when he
was a kid were beating the ship out of him. Well,
so he probably had some resentment.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
Yeah, I know how he feels, you know, because I
had that story was real it I told earlier it's fine, Tony,
don't believe me. It's okay. But yeah, the whole film, dude,
it's about fear and just facing your fears. It was.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
It was definitely the bad in the ends of its Dad.

Speaker 2 (59:45):
That's what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
Here, where's my Fox? Like Crystal?

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Where's Crystal?

Speaker 1 (59:56):
So Carl arrests Allen uh because he finds him on
the side of the road, and I like, as he's
arresting and he pulls his head back and the sniper
like Van Pelt, shoots and he like hits the ground.
You you see Robin be like what was that? He's like, yes,
arrest me because he's afraid they're all gonna get shot.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Please get me in the car.

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
Uh. Peter cheats and I like how he tries to
get around it. She's like, you cheating. He's like, no, no, no,
I dropped the dice so it would be at twelve.
She's like, that's cheating, and the game punishes him. It's
gonna because it says you have to go back, but
further than your thing. So basically he's regressing into a
primate and he's turning into a monkey.

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
So my question with this is if somebody else cheated
because his his little guy that he uses for the
game is a monkey.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Would they have turned into like an elephant.

Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Robin Williams would have Yeah, regressed. Is he the elephant
or the rhino or whatever he was? But yeah, when
he turned into whatever that was.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
Speaking of monkeys, those assholes are back, ohh and they're
stealing stuff from a store and they're watching Wizard of
Oz on screen like that, they're mimicking the flying monkeys
on the teev.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
That's awesome that Wizard of Oz was on the other night.
And my kid doesn't usually like look at the TV.
He's not usually like obsessed with any color comes on,
but that one comes on and he could not take
his eyes off the TV. And usually like my wife's
like no, he's like, don't let him watch TV, which
he's like sixteen months olds, like you know, chat yeah,

(01:01:27):
but so like yeah, no problem. But then like he
was glued. I was like, oh yeah, and then we
watched Wizard of Oz.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Did you are you getting roped into watching Wicket?

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Are you able to avoid that?

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
I like my wife, huh by my wife?

Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
Yeah, why would you see Wicked on your own?

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Like oh oh yeah, total no, Yeah, it's so dumb.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
We're not seeing Wicket too.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Why would It's not like I went and saw a
Wicked on Broadway. I wouldn't have done that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
If he did, it's probably because a chick major guy.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Yeah, dude, my chick sister bro.

Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
She was like, hey, no, not that doesn't work with
was like you could turn down a system.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
No, No, that was like what fifteen years ago we
went to see Wicket on Broadway because my sister was like,
I like because every year during Christmas time we would
go and see it Broadly.

Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
That's where you go, Hey, Trish, let me know how
it was.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I was like ten and my parents were it was
like a family trip, and then I loved it. I
thought I was wonderful. I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
I'm just getting flashbacks to last year when people were like,
you're you seeing Wicked? And I'm like, I'm single, what
would I? And people are like even to see Wicket too?
And I'm like, I'm I'm not in a relationship. Why
would I see Wicked? And they're like, you, I see
Wicket too. I'm like, do you do you see me
living with a girlfriend or something?

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
See, I'm not. I'm not like interested in or excited
for it, Like I really don't think that I can
sit through all that. But I really do want to
see it, just because I want to know how it
compares to the Broadway show.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
When it's done, I'm going to look up Jeff Goldbluem
scene compilation. Why because I just want to see him.

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
You don't like Ariana Grande o Sy what's her name?

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
I couldn't name a single character in the actor in
that movie.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
What's her name? What's her name?

Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Jet? I had no idea. I don't watch these things anyway. Well,
I'm glad you didn't have to see the movies.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
There's a Supergirl movie coming out next year.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
That I will see.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
So so Allen apologizes to Carl for getting him fired
in the car.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Love this scene, staring him like in the ye he's like.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
And then Van Pelt tries to seal the game from
the kids, but then the stampede comes into town. And
this was another one that was used in all the trailers.
H When Peter grabs the game, gets to the car
and like two elephants just trample the car.

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
Big moment.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Moment, see how that kid survived is beyond me yo.
But Fan Pelt succeeds and stealing the game, and he
hopes that it will tract Alan, that Alan will come for.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
The game to get him.

Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
So in the store they try to confront him. They
blind him with the scanner. I thought that was funny.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
That was yeah, because he really reacts to that one,
and you're like, what doing here? You could have you
could have found something else, like something to spray his
eyes with.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
YEA, lasers were like fun Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
I guess they were yeah dangerous back then.

Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
So Alan handcuffs Carl to his car and then throws
away the handcuff key. But then here's on the radio
that there's like a stampede and everything and a guy
with a gun. He's like, oh shit, so now he
has to drive with Carl on his lad.

Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
That's so good. H Where is that all right? Get
a good h I've driven once? What's he say?

Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Boy? And we were talking about Home Alone earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
This is the home alone section of the movie. Yep.
Where they're leading Van Pelt around the grocery or grocery
store like the convenience store. Not confused, just a yeah,
and they set up this stupid thing where it's like
a sled but in front of it it's the weight
set and the oxygen tanks and the helium tanks and kayak. Yeah,

(01:05:17):
he drops the thing into the kayak to shoot him. Like, okay,
we had to have a home alone segment in this.

Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
Yeah, I mean it screams home alone.

Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Yeah. I don't know why we needed a bad guy.
I guess the father thing. Yeah, well, I don't think
we needed a home alone segment.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
But then it also hits paint cans, which you know,
and then fall over everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
Home Alone really really made a mark in the nineties.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
I mean, dude, it was huge, and then they were
like Oh, dude, we have kids with a big guy
after him. Yeah, dude, let's home alone, which you know
how long that would have taken a set up while
this guy is running around the wal Martish.

Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
Well, they were taking turn to distract him. By the way,
I guess if you're curious what the worst Home Alone
movie is, go back and watch my episode. We did
hall six of them.

Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
Six.

Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
That's just like the yeah, let me grab my box.
There was only three three three atrical, three three theatrical,
I sue direct to TV, and the last one was
Disney plus Home Sweet Home Alone.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Oh that was like the newer.

Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Yeah, we're the only actor they could bring back is
the guy who played Buzz. And then three months later
he got arrested for choking his girlfriend. So all the
people to bring back, it's like, we can't get Buzz.
I sure, hope this doesn't look bad. In a couple
of months, I never found out if he was guilty.
I never followed up on that, but that didn't happen anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
Sorry, sorry, Buzz's girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Allegedly choking he watches the show. I don't think the
actor who played Buzz suing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
I don't like to assume you know, because that makes
an ass out of you and me Exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
The ant happens across the stampede at the intersection. I
love the rhino that's like out of breath because he's
been running non stuff. And I love that a monkey
gets at her car and causes her to crash.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Yeah, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Alan tells Peter that he needs to face his problems
like a man. By the way, Peter is a monkey
at this point. He's turning almost full monkey.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Yeah, trying to tell crying to turn back into a man.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
Yeah, And he's like, you got to be a man.
Ball and he's like, I'm sorry. I turned it to
my dad. I'm sorry, yeld, and he goes. He tells
him like, that's not the reason he's crying. It's because
his tail grew and it's hurting. So he like rips
the pants of his tail.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
So is he progressively turning more and more into a
monkey as the movie goes?

Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
So has he held his towel his tail in there
for so long and didn't want to tell the women
about Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
Yeah, okay, yeah, so yeah. When they when they get
back to the house, it's completely transformed. The vines have
taken over. Yeah, and I like Alan, it's just like
feels like home, is it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Yeah, it feels like homestle homecoming. I'm gonna feel comfortable
here to beat this board games in Yes, speaking of vines,
and then he makes a giant hole in the floor
with pink cans hanging from the ceiling. He heats up
the door knobs and then uh what else, what else?
Throws ice on the on the front lawn in case

(01:08:17):
somebody wants to slip, put a brick on the roof.
Got ready to be home alone.

Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
So the vines are also in the town now because
Carl tries to help the ant and finally the police
car dies, the vine comes in and just crushes it
and half actually and pulls it into the boyds. I
thought scene was cool because it was a big, practical vine.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
Yeah. A lot of great shots in this I mean
it's also it's also a bid run time. By this
point of the movie, it's like an hour forty.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Four, one hundred and four minutes. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Yeah, so like by by this point of the movie,
you're kind of like, oh, dude, we're like we're getting there.
We're right here at the climax out and you're like, damn,
we're cruising. That's great.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Uh. Sarah rolls and it causes a monsoon indoors monsoon.
Sh my, oh my god, Oh it's water. Oh go away,
go away rain. Oh god, I'm I'm so good. Wet Frank,

(01:09:24):
Oh god, just shot all over your face this monsoon.
What I like about this is the effect of the
clouds indoors. I thought that was really cool' just like
billowing on the ceiling. I was so cool.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Because they're like, which, this doesn't make any sense, So
he goes, you know, uh, someone says, at least we're
not at least we're indoors, and then it starts to
swirl inside and it starts to rain. Just wanna go
outside instead of trying and climb to the third floor
in a drowning.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
House because that's not as exciting, okay, And that this
way they but if they were, if they.

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
Were outside, would it have started raining outside in the
whole town would have flooded?

Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Maybe?

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Maybe?

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
Yeah, well the town does kind of flood in a second,
but yeah, water comes down, starts flooding, and then they
get attacked by not an alligator, we learn, but a
crocodile crocodile. He explains the difference coming up, but yeah,
we get this awesome gene of fighting. The goddamn crocodile.

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
Saved their life. That was a real, a real life crocodile,
by the way, So it wasn't c g I oh,
I mean a practical Yeah, it was a practical one,
like a real crocodile. But they the one of the
famous stories that Robin Williams told was that there was
a guy in there making it go up and down,
and he really like went to punch the head of it,
and he ended up like punching the guy in there,

(01:10:53):
and the guy was like, hey, take it easy.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
So yeah, he's fighting them, and like Carl's like I
always wanted to do this. He goes to kick the
door down, and they just get they would have died
the water pressure and how hard the door. That woman
would have been dead. But I like that they're floating
on the doors and then the crocodiles are swimming next
to it. A him and Alan and Sarah almost have

(01:11:19):
a moment. Oh, but it gets just it gets interrupted.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
I mean, dude, like you know this is I mean,
they haven't seen each other for twenty six years. You know,
he's never kissed a girl, never came closer to kissing
a girl. Yeah, and then all of a sudden, this
girl sees her dead ghost young boy that she you know, once.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
Loved, and then she's just like he fought an alligator
from before me.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
If anything, I'd be like, what if I am not
horny right now? I don't blake. I don't want to fuck.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
Yeah, I wouldn't want to do it at this point either.
I'm sorry, there's a lot going on. I just I
don't can't, can't focus on this right now.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
Time for a romantic moment.

Speaker 1 (01:11:59):
It's raining, and that a crocodile almost ate me. We
have to finish this game.

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
God, a vine could come out and shoot me in
the neck at any moment. Now a mosquito can kill me,
so fuck.

Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
He rolls, he rolls, He rolls the dice, And of
course I feel like modern kids don't really have this fear.
But like our generation, the one before, we were all
terrified of quicksand it kept showing up in media. It
doesn't show up anymore, but yeah, quicksand shows up and
he gets sucked into the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
We were always like scared when we would play outside,
like in the woods, that we would run into a
quicksand we never did. But yeah, maybe this is why
this is a good Quicksand scene. It is it.

Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
Is like, this is like it's very c he is
very green screened, but it was cool seeing the floor
like move like lava. So they do another turn to
stop it, and he's stuck in the floor and her
hands are stuck in the floor. So only the kids
are out. So Peter rolls and now they have terrifying
giant spiders, which I have here. Maybe there's a couple

(01:13:01):
shots later on. I'm shocked they aren't cgi. They're all
these little puppets that are like moving. Yeah, and they
also are terrifying. By the way. I love the gag
where he goes there's an axe in the shed outside
and he runs all the way the shed, can't open
the door, and then picks up the axe to break
the door and realizes and he even looks at the

(01:13:23):
camera right barrel. It's just like, oh runs back.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
My favorite part's so funny.

Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
So they're fighting the spiders, they're trying to break them out,
and Judy gets shot in the freaking neck with the
poisoned darts from.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
The Purple I could have sworn when I watched this movie.
I saw one come down from the ceiling and start
making out with her upside down.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
So that was spider Man. Oh you're thinking of a
different movie. A floorboard pops up and a plant comes
out and shoots start.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Oh I thought some kind of web we shot at her,
but no, yeah, yeah, and that's like mess up.

Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
It's like in her neck being like ah yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
I mean even as a kid watching watching her get
shot like that, dude, this is horrifying.

Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
So Peter's fighting out the spiders and I like that.
Sarah has to with the dice in her mouth and
spit them out till I get the game to move,
and this causes an earthquake that splits the house.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
It causes what what comes out?

Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
Earthquake?

Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
No, no, God, we made it terrifying, terrifying.

Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Jesus, I can't believe we're still running with this bit.

Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
I was done it. There's usually a comedy of these.
Now we're up to five.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
I do three times three, so nine we do nine, righte.
So we didn't do spiders.

Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
So the game quake and the game causes the house
to quake and split in half. Alan gets freed and
I like that he's swinging and the lion is now
also free and almost attacks him. That shot is awesome
where he swings up and it comes to claw him.
So yeah, he almost continued by the line van Pelt

(01:15:16):
corners him. Yeah, I mean he tells them to drop
the dice, and he does, but one falls down into
the basement and he keeps moving.

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
And he tells the hunter that he's not gonna run
and he's gonna face him now, and he's tired of
running and he's gonna face all his fears.

Speaker 2 (01:15:33):
That big moment, dude, that big moment of that you've
been building up.

Speaker 5 (01:15:36):
To the whole film, and the fear and standing up
to his dad and not able to face commitment and yep,
not knowing if he's gonna be alone for the rest
of his life and if he's really that afraid or not.

Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
And then the dice roll in the game board. Jumanji says,
you know what, I'll let you win.

Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
That is a good moment where he goes any last
word and he goes, yeah, Now, my question is Van
Pelt is the closest thing to the board game. Why
is he the last thing that gets sucked in? Every
other animal and everything gets sucked into the board game
because he's.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
The strongest fear in the game.

Speaker 1 (01:16:18):
I guess so, and I have it here. Don't act
like I didn't notice that Jurassic Park t rex roar
when the animals burst through the window, because they use
real animal sounds to make the dinosaur around it sounds, yeah,
one of the maybe it's like the elephant or the
rhino whatever breaks through the window. It's like you can
hear the t one of the t rex roars.

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
They didn't add in the Wilhelms scream.

Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
I don't think the Wilhelm scream was in this. But
then suddenly we're back in nineteen sixty nine, and now
we have adults who remember everything. This is like, uh,
this is kind of like Wolverine in Day's future past,
and now he has two different timelines in his brain.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Oh yeah, he's also what they're thirteen now, but in
their brains they're thirty nine.

Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
Yes, they're back in their child bodies. Yes, and they
have to relive puberty and everything all over again. Uh
so that's awkward. So he makes up with his dad,
his Dad comes home because he forgot a speech and
he's like, Dad, I'm sorry, blah blah blah, and they

(01:17:30):
go to throw the game away. And this is gonna
be rough because Alan was trapped for twenty six years.
He doesn't know what happened in that time. Yes, Sarah
can make a killing because what happened though was it
the seventies or eighties there was that gas shortage. She
could stockpile for that, just like Back to the Future
in Biff. Yes, she can bet on different sport games, who.

Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Won the World Series and what.

Speaker 1 (01:17:55):
Yes, she can write Star Wars. She can write Indiana.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Could write the movie Jumanji before it comes out, and
she can write a book called Jumanji. What dude? Uh, yeah,
this is this is all. Uh it's a very crazy
ending because I just figured that maybe yeah, I don't know,
but yeah, it goes back to I don't know what
I thought. But when when uh uh mister Parish comes

(01:18:22):
walking in. Yeah, when he comes back and he's like,
you know, I just want to say I'm sorry or
you know, I forgot my whatever and this and that,
that's when he found out that I'm trying to go
back to.

Speaker 1 (01:18:33):
The original timeline. Oh, that's when he would have came home.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
That's when he would have came home ten minutes later. Yeah,
after you know, he just left the house. And then
Alan's missing and he's gone, and then I was envisioning
in my head what does he do next? Because then
the old because the old man said, like, you know,
he spent all of his money in his life, savings
and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
And no one ever thought the board game was there.
No one ever thought, even like out of curiosity to
roll the dice.

Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
Well, yeah, I guess you're right. Yeah, not even roll
the dice. Maybe the board game shut itself up and
I don't know, wouldn't open because it didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:19:03):
I don't know how sentiment, I don't know how like
able this thing, how this thing is able to move
on its own? Well it can, it gets trapped a lot.
But yeah, but like, but I guess you can only
interact with children I don't see, I don't know, or
adults who played the game as children.

Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
Yeah, or just like whoever it wants to play it.
Maybe maybe like if you're if you're having a fear
in life, and it feeds off your fears, maybe it
feeds off those kids.

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
At the beginning who clearly lived. They didn't face their fear.

Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
They were still terrified, well like terrified, but they were
probably scared the whole time, and then face their fears
where they were like, oh god, like we don't want
ever want to open this ever again. Yeah, but like
maybe it feeds off of fear and miss and mister
Parish doesn't.

Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
It's like it penny Wise the clown make this.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
Oh my god, dude, I mean it does feel like dairy.
It does a little bit feel like the town of Darry.

Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
It's an evil entity that could take different forms. This
is I'm reading the book.

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Right hidden deep within me is as soon as they Yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
I'm reading the book right now. I'm the physical book
that's in this cabinet. I'm listening to an audiobook of
what of It. I never went through the whole book.
I listened periodically to my ex listening to the audiobook,
and I went, well, a lot to talk about penises
in this book. But I'm finally making my way through
the it book and I want to do like a
Big eight episode.

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
God, I got nothing for that one. Are you watching
Welcome to Derek?

Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
No, I wanted to do this book and then watch
the two movies, even that terrible second one, and then
watch the show Scond chapter two.

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
You're saying the newer ones, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I watched.
I rewatched the Tim Carey one recently, wonderful.

Speaker 1 (01:20:46):
Yeah. I had to get time a little closer, a
little closer. Yeah, I mean, but anyway, anyway, it was
back to this.

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
Yeah. Well the TV shows wonderful. I hear it's okay, Yeah,
it's okay.

Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
Do you want HBO Max I've been watching.

Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
I do that when I say something's good.

Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
I love La and The Chair Company, which is fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Two things I haven't been watching. Two things that I
have been watching is Welcome the Dairy, and then that
got me into Stranger Things. I've never seen Stranger Things.
So now I'm on season three, episode seven at the
filming of this. By the time this comes out, hopefully
I'm done.

Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
Before he starts season five. Go back and watch the
episode I did with Adam where we did a trivia
be where we tried to remember anything that happened in
the first four seasons.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
Really remember when they did the anyway anyway, then the
kids acted like kids.

Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Yes, flash forward. Sorry, flashboards, Sarah Allen are adults. Now,
they're married, They're living in the big house. His parents
are alive, and it's the big Christmas party, so this
is a Christmas movie.

Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
Who I forgot to wear my Christmas stuff? I walked
in the day and I was like, son, up a bitch.

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
Come on, I didn't know December I put the Knakatomi
tower up.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
I know, I didn't know when this was coming.

Speaker 1 (01:21:56):
Brenches up there at the Santa Art. Look at that.
Look at that right there. I know Wild Jimmy from Monstermania,
who always makes characters. He made me as a Grimlin
for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
I had so many Christmas shirts that I could have worn,
and you didn't tell me it was a Christmas I
thought it was assumed. I know, I look like an idiot.

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Look don't tell them anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
In this new timeline, Peter and Judy's parents are still alive.
Yeah uh, and they work for Alan for his shoe company.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
He probably like went way, he's high, like they like.
They like overly went out of their ways to find
their parents.

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
This new timeline could have been a ripple effect that
would have made those events not happen, but any.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
Well, well, like they connected because it seems like uh,
Robin Williams and them like they they went out out
of their way to find their parents, to bring them
to them, to give them a good, like high paying
job that they couldn't turn down. I'm gonna make you
an offer you can't refuse type shit, And I like.
I like that.

Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
They're like, oh, when do you want to start And
they're like, well, we're thinking about going to the Canadian
and they're like no, They're like, we need you to
start right away and never go there.

Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
Very cool. I love the way that they did that.

Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Yeah, and then it ends, uh with two kids, two
girls walking on a beach with the board game sticking
out of the sand, and I look, I saw the
commercial for the Nu Jumanji's and I don't think they
pick up on this. If I remember right the commercial
I saw the Nu Jumanji. The board game falls into
like an atari or something.

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
Yeah, well, yeah, it's a it's a video game that
that is is what they run off of. Yeah, so
I don't I don't know if this is I don't.
I forget, man, I watched the first one. I think
I watched the whole thing I don't remember what happens
through it, but yes, so I don't know if it's connected. Yeah,
but there's a deleted scene in the in the last
for the Christmas party, the gifts that Alan and Sarah, Yeah,

(01:24:04):
doesn't give gifts when they go to open, it's Jumanji
themed shoes, so they're like sneakers that are like jungle sneakers,
and it says Jumanji across the front of them, which
they should have.

Speaker 1 (01:24:16):
Left it, Yeah, they should have.

Speaker 2 (01:24:18):
And then they all sing a nice song together and
I saw, oh god, I'm gonna selling it in it.
I saw one that what's the movie where he wishes
that he never exists or something and then he never did.

Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
It's a wonderful life.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
It's a wonderful life, yep. And at the end of that,
they sing the same exact songs that they're playing on
the piano here, and that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
Is which is funny because because he's saying the alternate time, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
And he says I I never want to speak to
you ever again to his dad, so it's kind of
mimicking the same thing.

Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
And he does appear remake of it. It's a wonderful remake.

Speaker 2 (01:24:52):
Of it's a wonderful life, which means it's a.

Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
Christmas movie exactly, exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I don't know how I didn't pick that up last night.
I would have worn my Santa outfit. Fuck, I had
a full beard hat. I would have done at all.
And you know what, it was like an Italian theme
to want to.

Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
You know what. You could have said something earlier. I
still have your Buddy the Elf costume upstairs.

Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
Oh damn. And I still have that cocaine in my pocket.

Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
So as we kept saying, this led to multiple sequels.
You're probably thinking of the Jumanji's with the Rock. There
was another movie.

Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:25:28):
The writer of the book in two thousand and two
wrote a book a follow up because the book, the
first book ends with two people finding a game and
it's like a little cliffhanger, and he followed up with
a book called Zathora Okay, which would then be turned
into a movie a couple of years later in two
thousand and five called Zathora by Jon Favreau. I think

(01:25:50):
That's not fair, which is a spiritual success. It doesn't
directly follow the events, but it's the same idea of
a magical game that transports them and.

Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
Thing and that goes to space, right, that.

Speaker 1 (01:26:03):
Space that's more of a sci fi So this one's
like Jungle Venture, that one sci fi in space. But yeah,
so technically a thora is in this universe, so there's
one's a thora, there's gonna be five juman I think
Kristen Stewart is the older sister in it, and I
forget who else is in it. I forget, yeah, but

(01:26:25):
I think John Favreau directs. I remember liking it at
the time.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
This is what studios saw and then they were like, oh, dude,
that guy needs Iron Man.

Speaker 1 (01:26:35):
Yeah, And I wonder if like the writer of the book.
I guess because the movie did so well and he
got like, you know, it's based off his book, and
I think he got a story big for writing the
script even though they didn't use it. So I guess
he was just like, I better write another book and
hopefully they make another movie. Because the turnaround on this
was really quick. It was like, what two thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
And two, yeah, maybe one Hand in Hand.

Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
Yeah yeah, And that would have been the ten year
anniversary for Dumanji. So I guess they because I know, like,
even though it's not really following anything up. It was
used in a lot of the marketing like this is
Draumanji kind of really space. Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (01:27:11):
Don't even know that. I don't even think I watched
that movie at the time. I think it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
I didn't see it in theaters, but I caught him
on cable.

Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
Yeah, it was like just on TV and I was like,
what's this? OK?

Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
Interesting, but yes, that is Dumanji. I still think this
holds up. This is like a perfect family film. It's
got enough scary stuff but not too scary. Uh. Yeah,
It's a fun.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
Good celd time, perfect mixture.

Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
Of besides the monkeys, the effects hold up really really well.

Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Beside the monkeys for you, I like them, leave the
fucking monkeysmic. But yeah, yeah, it's great mix of drama,
great mix of comedy.

Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
Perfect that Robin Williams was the lead and not Tom Hanks.
I think that, you know, uh, he killed it. It
was wonderful, perfect cast. Yeah, I love this movie. I
rewatched this light and I'm sitting there loving every bit
of it. It gives you a little bit of nostalgia
feeling when when you watch it back you're like, oh man, dude, like.

Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
Yep, it was a really really great time.

Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
Yeah, and let's do it again. Huh, let's do it
again next week.

Speaker 1 (01:28:16):
Let's just review it again. Okay, let's just review it again.

Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
All right?

Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
Cool, Frank, Where can we find you? What you got
going on recently?

Speaker 2 (01:28:24):
Tony? You know, I was like, I gotta make a
list of everything that I have going on, because I
know every time that we review something and I get
to this point of the show, I either forget something
and somebody yells at me, or I just yell at
myself because I'm like, boy, did that sound fucking I
have a good amount going on at the moment right now.

(01:28:47):
If you want to watch something fresh and interesting with
a lot to say on YouTube, there's a short film
called Black Phobia. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
Many Musket says it's one of the greatest films he's
ever seen.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Because it is. Thank you many Muskets, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
I want you to listen. Listen. This movie is about
an Italian guy who's afraid of black people. I know
that seems outlandish, but give it a chance. It's very good.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
That's one way to put it. Uh, it's it's got
a lot to say. Uh, it's it's there's a lot
of comedic aspects through it. It's just something you know
that I worked on with a great casting crew and
is out.

Speaker 1 (01:29:23):
It was fun. I liked it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
Uh. And then uh there is next year. Uh, there's
a movie coming out called Neighbors. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
The seth rogame.

Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
Uh. Oh, I'm sorry, neighbor. It's neighbor, Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
I was gonna say you're a Neighbors three.

Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
There's no s on the end of it. It's just neighbor.
Take it easy, Tony, take it easy. Uh. And that
you can see the trailer on YouTube right now if
you type in neighbor Frank Volpi, you put my name
on the end of it and you'll you'll something will
pop up. And then I have a really good short
film that'll be out next year called Philly Pretzels, which

(01:30:04):
is also starring Adam Shapiro from The Bear. Oh. I
played a supporting character in it. I think they're I
think that they're planning on film festivals and stuff like that.
But I'll eventually be out there. Yeah. I got a
lot going on, so, you know, and my own stuff, and.

Speaker 1 (01:30:22):
I'm gonna spoil it, but Frank will be in Clayface
as party attendee number seven.

Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
Stop it don't lie.

Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
You will see stop it don't lie. You'll see him
at a party. You'll see him putting his coat in
a coat room.

Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
And then the no, actually, I got into Clayface and
he goes to turn into another human because because Batman's
coming and he has to look like somebody else real quick.
So then he hurry up and turns around and his
mud goes everywhere, and then it's just me standing there
but the back of your head as no, no, as
as Frank Volpi. And he goes, ah, it's to me,

(01:31:01):
Frank Volpi.

Speaker 1 (01:31:03):
Uh mushiety because because clay Face doesn't know how to
be a town, it's real fucked up.

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Yeah, it's real fucked up ship. And then he spins
again and then he's somebody else, but like you get
that real quick hint. Yeah, great, it's gonna be great.
Oh God, please got help me.

Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
But yes, check all that out.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
And then I go, I gotta say one more. Then
there's a horror movie that I'm in that'll be coming
out sometime next year. It is in post production right now.
We just recently wrapped and it is called Uh. Then
came a Rainbow and it's about two little girls that
are twins. Uh and they go on a murderous rampage.
Uh and uh yeah, it's it's it's a doozy.

Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
I don't want to watch that. That's terrifying.

Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
A lot of a lot of awesome people, a lot
of great uh cast and crew from the actor community, uh,
from the or from the horror of community. A lot
of familiar faces.

Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
So and yeah, check all of that out. Follow Frank
on Twitter at Instagram.

Speaker 2 (01:31:58):
Frank Underscore, Volpi Underscore. I could have just said that
because it's all on there. There's another short film called
Phantom Revolver. I play so many I play a cowboy.
I'm telling you, dude, it's been wat since I've been
on and this is all coming out next year. I
know I have a lot. I got a lot going on,
short films, feature films. Check me out. If you want
to cast me, just call me directly at Tony's phone number.
Tony's number is two one five. I have nine line.

Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
I haven't checked it shit, but yeah, James Gunn, if
you're watching Playface.

Speaker 2 (01:32:27):
Jamie Baby, you don't have to go through Tony. You
can just call me directly, and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:31):

Your friend doesn't really care about your marriage.

First, Hello Tony from Hacking Movies. Here. This is coming
to you from Lauren, my faithful patron to Matthew and Elise.
It is your wedding day, and Lauren has hired me
to give you vice and words of encouragement on this
special day. That's right, he hired me. The guy's been

(01:34:07):
single for like going on four years, has trouble getting
a date. I used to actually have a girlfriend named
Elise and it didn't work out. She spelled her name
with a y, though, so it was completely different. Look,
I think you two are gonna do great. You guys
like horror movies. There's a million horror movies you could

(01:34:28):
spend the rest of your life watching. You'll never get
You'll never get bored of finding new horror movies. And
uh yeah, you too are gonna do good. And I
do have some words here from an expert on love. Okay,
don't worry about it. You guys love each other as
a person, as a human being, as a friend. You know,

(01:34:52):
people don't have to say it, they can feel it.
You can love someone deep inside your heart and there's
nothing wrong with it. If a lot of people loved
each other, the world would be a better place to live.
That's what Johnny from the room said. Yes, Tommy Wisso's

(01:35:13):
the room. He said that to Denny when Denny confessed
that he was in love with Johnny's fiance. Your friend
did a great job picking me for this. I wish
you nothing but the best and many many years a
lifetime actually of happiness. And I hope you really really
enjoy your special day. You're my best friends, and I

(01:35:35):

Go Birds, I love you, Go Go Burns.

Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
