(00:00):
Hello, everyone, Happy Tuesday.I hope everybody had a great long weekend.
For Labor Day. I had thegrandkids over, you know, and
got some stuff done around the house. Yesterday Labor Day actually helped a friend
of mine most some yards for alittle bit of extra side money, but

(00:21):
he really needed. He got COVIDthe whole last week, so he got
behind. He was so good, doing good and then he fell behind.
So here I was on Labor Dayfor half a day mowing, imagine that.
But I've got a bunch of videosup and played some some portable in
the back. I got my lowersection of the tower reconcreted in so I

(00:42):
added another three hundred and sixty poundsof concrete, which now I am at
about a thousand pounds. If youdidn't see that video. I dug a
six foot hole and put the plate, you know, the bass plate in
the concrete, and that the threelittle you know, legs were sticking up

(01:03):
to accept the first tower section. And then through the bass plate, I
took a six foot three quarter inchthreaded rod and went straight down the original
time in June, right down sixfeet into the concrete. So basically,
and I put a huge nut andwasher on there to bolt to keep you
know, you know what I mean. I'd have to draw it for you.

(01:23):
But basically that rod that holds aboutsix feet, I had about seven
hundred pounds of concrete and I mixedit, putting there by hand. And
then that rod goes through, whichis not a ground rod. Everybody thought
it was a ground rod. It'snot. Then I had the plate.
Then I added another three und sixtypounds. After I bolted the first two
sections of tower on there with thewith the bolts, nuts, lockwashers that

(01:47):
I'd poured in the concrete. Sonow it's sandwiched in there, bolted on.
It ain't going nowhere. I mean, for a thousand pounds of concrete,
if that tower falls over, itcould fall over, and I'll just
cut it off the saws on anddo it again. It needs to be.
I need another one hundred and eightypounds to get it above grade.
And I'm just flat out of buyingconcrete and dumping it into this hole,

(02:09):
flat out of money for that.So I figured it's good enough. Maybe
I'll put some rocks around the topof it, right where the concrete is
and bring it to the grade. And I don't know. I'm gonna paint
the lower section the rate where itcomes out of the concrete with some epoxy
enamel spray really, or I mightpaint it on just to give another barrier
so that doesn't rust right there atthe base of the concrete. But it's

(02:32):
permanent now. It's good about twentyeight days. So that four thousand PSI
strength to here, and then yeah, I could. I gotta get a
gin pole and get the other twoup. I had three sections bolted together.
We were gonna raise it. ThenI was going to climb up put
the fourth section on. That's notgonna happen. That was too heavy,

(02:53):
it was too long. So Idid the two myself. So I got
the rest of the month. Letit cure. Me and my wife and
the greg kids. They put theirhandprints in there. I wrote my call,
signed the concrete. It was fun. So that's that's uh going there.
It's perfectly level at the level. It is not touching the house.
But and I thought, you know, I should bolt it to the house

(03:15):
too now for insurance. I'm notgonna do it for again. A thousand
pounds are concrete in there. It'sonly gonna be forty feet tall. I'm
not gonna have much on the topof it at all, so if it
falls, it won't affect the houseat all. That's that's what I feel.
In fact, if you look atthe video when I got the tower,
I that thing wasn't even concrete atthat person's house. Was there thirty
years They had it bolted to thehouse and they just had the ground rod

(03:38):
or something hammered through the hole inthat plate, sitting on top of a
pad. There was no There wasno concrete or bolts or anything on it.
So I think I'll be pretty okay. Uh, for some reason,
my throat, I don't know whatit is. It's it's kind of a
no, it's not COVID. It'skind of itchy. But anyways, We're
heading to Coral Reef, Miami todaydo some work. And I must admit

(04:03):
real quick, I didn't fall offthe wagon this weekend. I did have
several shots. I went what thirteendays without liquor. It was Labor Day
weekend. I had the grandkids overfor a couple of days. Me and
the wife had some great dinner andit was a beautiful day. The beautiful
weather, the heat has not beenas bad. I had a couple of

(04:24):
shots. I didn't fall off thewagon. I'm going back to not drinking
again, but I wasn't having abeer after dinner at night. So definitely
not drinking all day anymore, andnot getting smashed all weekend. So hey,
forgive me for I have sinned. And you guys are all right though.
I'm sure you're not gonna bash meor whatever. You know, I
worked my ass off enough a coupleof shots, you know, we'll be

(04:46):
all right for me. I thinkso. The videos I've made this week,
as I said, I recycled someof these videos. It made a
new introm the beginning. It justexplained and uploaded the video. Cut out
some stuff from seven years ago whenI upload them that aren't pertinent anymore,
for you know, things I saidin there, not the mode itself or

(05:10):
the video itself, the things Isaid or how I advertised it. Didn't
want it to sound too gaudy anymore, so anyways, re upload it.
So far, I re uploaded theOlivia contesta, hell Shriber and Domino X.
I went on on PSK thirty onethis weekend and did a couple of
contacts there. Then I went toOlivia Contesta. I called CQ to my

(05:31):
computer, was screaming out and you'retelling me to stop, and nobody's there.
What in the hell you go toFTA, They're all there. So
what I did was just for curiosity. You know, on the PSK reporter
dot info site, you can seeon the reverse beacons whatever, it'll pick
up your calling CQ and it'll putit on a map to see where your

(05:54):
signals being heard. Now, alot of my signal on PSK was heard
in the same places as the FTeight. So I switched to fight called
CQ a couple of times, andhalf of these the United States, that
the eastern half of the United States. All those beacons picked me up.

(06:15):
And but then I went to thePSK, did the same thing. Then
I was calling CQ on these othermodes. Nobody there. I think a
lot of people said they don't wantto buy Ham Radio Deluxe to try this
out, So I'm going to uploadthe free the last free version. I
think it's five dot two four dotthree six, which was the last free

(06:36):
version of Ham Radio Deluxe before hestarted charging one hundred dollars a year for
it. Now, some people didsay, you know, I just want
to get on these things and trythem. I don't want to have to
spend one hundred dollars a year todo this if there's nobody there, So
I'm gonna upload this to get peopleand contribute and support the developer. If
you end up using this a lotand you're like, wow, this is

(06:56):
cool, then buy it, youknow, or just keep using the free
version. I don't care. Ithink there should be more options for software
for digital modes like this. Forhand radio operations, you can download w
s JTX for free. Why can'tyou download Digital Master for seven eighty for
free? So I'm gonna do somethingabout that. And if I get sued,

(07:18):
I'm not sure. If I can'tget sued because it was it is
out there on the internet. Youcould find a website and download last for
version. I'll just re upload iton mega upload. I don't think that's
committing a crime. I'm not stealingfrom the company because they originally had it
free and the only difference is itdoesn't have all the new stuff in there
for the newer radios. So ifyou have a seven h five you gotta

(07:41):
do a lot of tweaking to getit to recognize as a seventy seven hundred
icon, change addresses and stuff. But there's a lot of features that are
in the new versions that are notin the old one. But all I
really use hand Radio Plucks for isdigital Master. I don't use it for
anything else. I'm not gonna payone hundred dollars a year to use digital
Masters, so I use the freeversion. So keep an eye out for

(08:01):
that. It'll be a video comingup and I'll just announce it. And
if I have to take it down, that's your that's give me your chance
as it's up to download that andget it for frame and you can share
it somewhere else create a virus effectfor free ham Radio Dolus. Other than
that, though, man, theweather is spectacular. You can field fall

(08:24):
coming. It's eighty seven right nowat nine fifty eight last month, or
two months ago at it's eighty sixnow at this time, a couple of
months ago, it was you know, ninety six, ninety eight with a
real fill of one hundred and five. It's pretty dry right now. High
pressure is dominant, pretty dry, blue skies and a nice breeze, so

(08:45):
I love it. That'll get mecloser to doing what I need to do
from my shed my garage and cleanout the garage and then clean out the
shed and then insulate it, turnit into my hamshack. I'll have much
excuse me, I'll how much hourup, I'll have power in there and
all that. So that's not lookingforward to having my little hamshock again.

(09:07):
Other than that, I think that'sall I really had to say on this
Tuesday. Thank you to Ham RadioPrep for a VMI sponsor. They are
amazing. They got there the code. You could use the code at Eric
twenty save twenty percent. But checkout that new HF masterclass. Gotta get
that video done today or tomorrow andcheck that out. A lot of people
are gonna benefit from that, moreHF operators that feel confident making contacts.

(09:31):
And if you use the code ERICtwenty on that course with video interactions and
everything, it'll definitely save twenty percenton there as well. So thank you
guys and talk to you tomorrow.Stay tuned on the videos if you are
a YouTube watcher. Hand Radio conceptsthe latest digital modes that I put up,
and if you want to send anyemails about anything, emails always hand

(09:56):
Radio concepts at gmail dot com.By the way, eleven meters is hot.
This morning, I was just listeningto the guy and they had a
h They had an eleven meter roundtable. I guess they did this every
morning. I was hearing one guyin Peoria, Arizona, and one guy
in Phoenix, and one guy upin I think West Virginia, and one
guy up in Missouri, and theywere all just having around to him.

(10:16):
They talking like hams. And yougo up to twenty eight mega hurts and
there's nothing. So I'm convinced peopleare just not getting on the radio because
you can hear a FT eight ontwenty eight dot one twenty no twenty eight
dots, drow seventy four, twentyeight one, twenties PSK is where I
was this weekend. But hey, nobody's wanting to talk anymore on microphones.

(10:37):
Get kind of sad. Bands areopen propagation. It's spectacular, and we're
gonna sit on FT eight and nowlet's get some other interaction going on HAM
Radio seven three. Everyone
