(00:00):
Sounds like a great morning to doa podcast. Happy Tuesday. Currently Satellite
Beach, Florida heading to Wildwood somewhereover by the Villages. If you haven't
heard of that place. Some crazystuff goes on the villages, big place.
Anyway, It's good morning, guys. Happy beginning of September. I
(00:22):
guess I know I made a videosince the beginning of September. But man,
it's spectacular weather outside. I'm startingto enjoy being outside to scott and
nice and nice and blue again. The heat wave is not like it was.
Tempers are cool in the morning. It's great stuff. Some things to
talk about here, And I said, I put out a lot of a
(00:42):
lot of new material the last coupleof days, and we'll talk about well,
let's see what can we talk abouttoday. I made a video and
received from radiotoy a q T forty, which is a ten and eleven meter
It's a ten meter amateur transceiver witha jumper Chaine to make it for eleven
And that's what I did. Okay, And I'm causing a lot of problems
(01:04):
that people just don't understand. Imean, I put a video on TikTok
that got like forty six thousand viewsin a night and some shorts on YouTube.
And maybe maybe I'm not being clear. Maybe people just don't get what
I'm trying to do. So letme explain that. So I've said in
the past that ten meters I wasso right. Now I'm on twenty eight
(01:26):
dot four oh five. I wasn'ton twenty eight four hundred calling CQ till
I was blue in the face forthe last hour from Vero Beach to Satellite
Beach, Okay, and nothing right. And then I got one contact in
Boulder, Colorado and that was quick. But anyways, I scrolled down to
twenty seven dot three eighty five andeleven meters and instantly worked the UK,
(01:49):
Trinidad, and Canada. First tryOkay on CB. Now people are getting
pissed off of the videos I'm saying. They don't understand my I what I'm
trying to do. They think Ithink that twenty seven dot three eighty five
to ten meters. They think thatI'm not a HAM They think that I'm
(02:09):
telling everybody that eleven meters is partof Ham Radio. No, I never
said that. Here's what I'm tryingto say. I'm not I'm not yelling
at you guys, trust me,and this is you guys are who I
mean to for real? Does youguys have for some reason, all you
listeners on the podcast are like lightyears beyond these comments I'm getting on YouTube.
(02:29):
I don't get it TikTok YouTube,Facebook that the comments are just bizarre
of what people think and respond asto what the video is doing. If
you watch the video that got likeforty two thousand and forty seven thousand hits
on TikTok, it clearly shows watchthis, I could go up seven eight
(02:51):
nine hundred kilo hurts up from twentyseven dot three eight five and there's nobody
but you can listen to hundreds ofstations. Just blow that at twenty seven
three at five. If somebody saysI'm an idiot, no moron, that
I don't understand propagation now when youlook at the solar terrestrial data and all
this other stuff. If if Ionly have to tweak my tar heel like
(03:17):
like like my tar heel, ifit's sept for twenty seven, I could
still use it on twenty eight fourhundred, no problem. The SMBR is
like two to one. So Ijust bumped the button boom, it's right
there at one to one, Okay, I don't have to. It's nine
hundred kill hurts away from nine hundredand twenty five killer hurts away, and
and I could work England, Ireland, Scotland, Papua, New Guinea,
(03:40):
New Zealand with with sixty seventy wattsand eleven meters. Yes that's a legal,
of course. But why why can'tI find anybody on ten meters?
Okay? Because people are telling methat ten meters is dead. And the
only reason I'm listening to eleven isbecause it's a whole different band and I'm
(04:03):
using some different antennas and moon Rakersis up. No, watch this.
I'm got to show you something.I'm again, I'm not yelling at you
guys. Watch it's good. Dialright down to twenty eight dot zero seven
four. What happens there? Yep, you guess it. Listen to all
the f TLO there's there are Thereare people that are in front of a
(04:31):
computer, mostly right now on FTeight that are operating on ten meters.
Why are they not going up totwenty eight dot four and calling CQ?
That's what I'm trying to figure out. It has nothing to do with the
bands. It has nothing to dowith the radio I'm using or the antenna.
There is no FT eight. Wow, that's funny. Yes, cbers
(04:56):
can use and have used and areusing FTA eleven meters Okay, twenty seven
dot six three five and twenty sevendot two sixty seven. I think there's
some FT eight and people are FTeight contacts on eleven meters across the pond
to Europe. Now that doesn't impressme. I'm going to try it and
make a video on it. Butso being that there's no FT eight,
(05:20):
okay, you could scroll down totwenty seven dot three eight five actually,
and I say three eight five it'schannel thirty four to thirty eight. There's
all kinds of people. And asI'm driving right here bluetooth hands free,
I'm going to use my radio andscroll. Okay, I'll show you something.
Well here, y'all. Okay,of course, now, just a
(05:47):
minute ago there was people twenty seventhree seven five three eight five three nine
five okay, so little noah here. But anyways, you get the idea.
If if there's no FTA to exist, people are actually communicating and some
of the conversations are great. Someof them are HAM related, some of
them are talking about new and tensare building and radios that they're using an
(06:11):
icon seventy three hundred there. It'slike HAM conversation on eleven meters. We
won't call it CB anymore because it'snot eleven. It's not CB. When
you're making DX contacts and just talkon a HAM, I call it eleven
meters out. So it comes torant, Okay, I'm not yelling at
you guys. So then somebody elsesays that I'm an idiot. I don't
(06:34):
realize that this radio I made aTikTok on is which I'm gonna talk about
this radio in a minute, iseleven meter radio. It does not do
ten. I clearly showed on therethat you can go from twenty six to
thirty mega hurts on this thing. And I showed, look here's twenty seven
(06:54):
or twenty eight, three eight, five thirty nine three five four hundred.
If nobody there, I dial,I switched the band to D on the
low switch, boom, it cameto life. I'm like, why is
there? We got ten and everybody'scommenting, Oh, you don't understand you
are on ten meters. That's aten meter radio. Won't do Stevie.
No, did you not see memove the jumper to go to eleven meters
(07:16):
and frequency readouts its twenty seven dotthree eighty five. I'm on CB.
They just don't get it. ThenI've been accused of using black magic again.
You know, I'm using forty sixthousand watts and my with my eighty
foot tower with a moonraker. That'swhy everybody can hear. No, it's
not why the radio host forty fivelots and I have it on a shark
(07:38):
amstick on my diesel. I meanvery simple. That QT forty radio has
surpassed my impressibility, if that's aword. The noise reduction on that radio,
holy shit, that's better than anynoise reduction on any radio I've ever
owned. Okay, it's may buyany tone, but radiotity has rebranded it.
(08:03):
So the any tone, it's theAT five five five five and plus
two or Version two or Mark twoand it's chrome and it No, I'm
sorry that. No, that's theother one. I did a video.
I'll talk about that. The QTsixty. This one is any tone that
you can find. It looks justlike oh that's eleven meters. It looks
just like a covert twenty nine chromeface and all that, but it's ten
(08:26):
meters And I guess FCC approved untilyou open it and jumped it like I
did. Now let's not approve anymore, right, But the noise cancelation was
another short YouTube and a TikTok andit wipes out all the solar noise from
my RV. I mean, thesolar charge controller just creates trash all over
(08:48):
HF and no matter what band drawing. And when I flipped got switch,
I could listen to anybody and nothear that noise. And when you're going
down the road, the static's gone. It almost makes it sound like f
and digital, if that makes sense. If you watch the video, you're
like, what is that eleven metersdigital? It really really works well.
(09:09):
The audio is spectacular, it's it'sloud, it's clear. The clarifier works
unlike what people have said on YouTubewhere they say, oh you can't there's
certain frequencies you can't get wrong. You can get to almost any frequency okay
everything. I mean, that's howclarifier works. You know, you can
(09:30):
set it for five hundred hurts orfive, kill hurts and sweep. You
know, you get the idea.I'm gonna tell you how to use a
radio on here. But so man, some of the comments I mean,
like I'm not a hand radio operatorbecause I'm using twenty seven out three eight
five. I should be ashamed ofmyself, right because again, going back,
(09:52):
I want a tangent now going back, the purpose of me is saying
that I can go to any HFband right now and it's open almost a
man. Yeah, I wouldn't goto eight ye one hundred and sixty meters
right now or forty, but likeI can go to twenty seventeen, fifteen,
twelve, ten. They're all agreat shape. Maybe it's because I'm
in Florida, but I'm only usinga little tar heel HP with one hundred.
(10:15):
I come seventy one hundred and there'sonly thirty four inches of real estate
of antenna in the air. Okay, But I keep getting told that I
don't know what you're using or whyyou could hear stuff I haven't heard of
contact in years. They said, well, that's not my fault, because
you can go anywhere on YouTube andfind someone that makes a video of working
(10:37):
DX. What out. Just typein Ham Radio contacts and look at the
newest video and you'll find someone.But they're telling me you can't. It's
impossible. So that's why I getpissed, because you know, don't poop
on Ham radio because you're having aproblem when maybe it's S nine plus twenty
(11:00):
noise level. Well, that mightbe your neighbor's TV, that might be
your poor antena, that might bethe plasma you got in your living in
a plasma TV. I don't know, but you have a problem, not
Ham radio, Not you guys. You know what I mean. I'm telling
the comments about just some some funnythings that I don't understand where they come
up with this stuff, like, you, idiot, that is a ten
(11:22):
meter radio. You're on ten meters. Stop saying that's eleven no do you
moron? It's twenty seven NOTT threeeight five. That is not ten meters,
which questions my ability on how theygot a Ham license to begin with
if they don't know twenty seven threeat five is not in ten meters,
you know, And then I'm trashbecause I'm recommending somebody to get on eleven
(11:45):
meters. That's where all the BreakittyBreak, Hillbillies reside and there's no place
for them in the world. That'sa pissport statement too. One of the
ones said, because you know radio'sradio, and I got news for you,
I'm going backwards. I mean,I started at CV when I was
ten, got my hand license whenI was twenty, so eighteen something years
(12:07):
ago. And there's people that Icould show to get that radiotity QT forty
or the QT sixty and tell themto get on eleven. What's the next
thing you're gonna do? Wow?What about that whole twenty eight megad's a
twenty nine MEGERD section. I wantto get on there. You know they're
gonna dial up there listen, andthey're gonna want more for a two hundred
(12:28):
dollar radio. They're gonna want more. They're gonna it's gonna push them to
get a hand license. And tobe quite frank with you, most everybody
that I'm listening to you on twentyseven dot three eighty five is having more
intelligent conversation that what I'm hearing onHF lately. On a lot of places,
(12:48):
there's some people that just like ontwenty meters the other day, this
guy was like if he if hedidn't like your signal, he'd throw you
out. Now, I'm not gonnalisten to that kind of audio. The
integrity is not there. I don'tknow what is it out. Let's move
on at Does anybody have a goodHF transfer extra class operators only? Please?
Like? Who the hell does that? In a general portion? Call
(13:09):
for extra only operation? Go tothe extra portion? Boy? What sense
does that make? Is this wherewe're heading? In hand? Radio?
You know, I was watching onTV last night and me and my wife
this is gonna be a little bitlonger an episode I was watching. And
you know, I've never been abugout guy. I've never been someone that's
like, oh man, we gottaget ready. But dude, I'm starting
(13:31):
to get that way. My gokids ready, my emergency food kit,
my back, my bags are ready. You know what you got, Kim
John Ung meeting Russia's lad of yourputin Okay to give him arms in exchange
for technology for Russia to teach himhow to make their missile ballistic nuclear missiles
(13:52):
go even further and more accurately. That's the last thing we need. But
listen, man, when all elsefails, radio is there now, and
he could take out radio is Icould fuck the atmosphere up excuse the language,
or I honest phere you know. You know what, But man,
this is actually starting to make meaware that I mean, I got my
emergency rations right, I'm not.I'm not bugging out and turning my room
(14:15):
into a basement. I'm saying,I got four Patriots survival food, I
got the solar kettel, I gotgenerators, emergency power, solar panels,
go lore. I think I likethe ability that I could just go out
somewhere and deploy anywhere in minutes andhave radio communication, even if it's not
going to save my life. Damn, it'll keep me entertained or occupied while
(14:35):
the world just burns to a crest. You know what I mean. It's
it's uh so to tell someone thatthey're stupid or trash or uneducated to get
on because they're on eleven meters.I am trash because I'm telling people to
get on eleven meters. That's whatthey're telling me. I love it.
I love it, you know. But there's when you see those comments,
(15:00):
there's thousands of comments that are agreeingwith me, telling me, dude,
you're right, I could work Ireland, Europe, in Australia all day long
and eleven. But I call SKOantenna, nobody's there. You can get
on FTA all day long and there'speople there because nobody wants to talk.
Ft eight is FTA is great forme to test antennas. I've said it
(15:24):
before. That's why I'm showing theother digital modes. And I've showed a
dozen videos previously and said, tryhell Scheiber, try domino X. Domino
X is designed specifically for static crasheson eighty meters seventy five meters stuff like
that, you know where error correctiondoesn't need to be there, and it'll
cut through an other man's mode, won't. The answer I get is that's
(15:46):
cool, I've never heard of that. I want to try it. Then
following that they come back and saythis sucks. All these modes as showing
me nobody's there. I can't findone contact. I'm trying to make other
people aware that just got their licensethat there's other Ham radio digital modes out,
there's the FTA, and all Iget is comments that are saying I'm
(16:07):
stupid, I'm an idiot. FTAis the only mode that works the best
mode. Everything else won't work. The bands are dead, that's why we
use it. Blah blah blah.I'm tired of hearing that. Really am
well, you know, it's kindof a kick in the nuts. And
I try to get these new youngpeople. Think about the young people.
Think about my grandson. You thinkI want to tell my grandson, Dude,
you gotta get your hand license. But listen, it ain't gonna be
(16:29):
good for the next ten years.Don't worry about just get your hand license,
but you won't make contacts. That'sstupid. I want to show look
mandlet at all this, and mythirteen year old grand kid could tell everybody
that the bands are alive. Hehas no idea other than when I on
the radio, he can hear voicescome down to the speaker hole. Now,
if I asked him Landon, doesthis sound like there's a lot of
people are there? Oh? Yeah, Pat, there's a lot of people.
(16:51):
But you cut these people that haveto post videos with freaking tens of
thousands of dollars of equipment behind themto authenticate their their legitimacy to say,
I'm the answer is me. Thereis no way you could use anything but
ft that that's getting really ridiculous. So that's man, Where did this anger
(17:14):
come from? I don't know,Probably because I'd rather make podcasts because you
guys have more sense listening to thispodcast than anybody on YouTube. Not anybody
all the people that do. Imean, I know there's some US people
listen or watchers here that comment andlisten to my podcast. You know what
I'm talking about. It's not youguys. Just go through and read some
of the comments. They're great, they're funny. I'm leaving them up there.
I don't I don't spell to them. I leave them there. And
(17:37):
they have a purpose to make themselveslook idiotic when they when they use F
words and stuff. You know, and how you know how I'm you know,
I'm no more I'm no more thana tale knows what do this?
What do you say? I knowI'm no more than a tonail clipper when
it comes to education. Okay, well that you're wrong, you know.
(17:57):
But they're mad because I can getthem on any van and talk even eleven
meters. When people said CB isdead, Midland told me they're not making
CB to him or a few yearsago, because nobody uses it. GMRS
is a future. I want tosell this GMRS radio. It sucks.
GMRS is a bunch of snobby peoplethat didn't want to get a Ham radio
(18:17):
license, but they wanted to putan eight thousand dollars repeater up and tell
everybody you can't use it till you'rea member and paying money. Well,
what kind of crap is that, you know? So back to the QT
forty for a minute. I putthat in my desel. It's I'm quite
impressed. And I also got theaid the radio to the QT sixty,
which is the at five five fivefive N. It's got a digital display.
(18:42):
It's rather large radio. It's thesame size as the QT forty as
the Cobra twenty nine LTD Classic, but it's got a nice backlit digital scream
their frequency read out. It too, can go eleven meters. Some say
these both do twelve. I'm notsure. I think they're doing twelve with
a negative offset or something. I'mnot sure, but I call it ten
(19:03):
and eleven and uh Man for twohundred to two hundred and forty nine dollars
from these two radios, they're gettingChina. In fact, any tone who
originally makes this or the company that'sbrained by any tone did a really good
job on these. Some people haveshown that there's they're not two spectrally pure
on certain frequencies. But you knowwhat, I don't care. I don't
(19:26):
care. In fact, it mightbe that one I might be wrong.
It might be that the talk podA thirty six plus that's the one that
people said wasn't spectrally pure. Theother one is the kid Tie forty kid
see sixty that just made videos onare doing quite well in the market.
And uh, you know, tellingsomebody who's new in the hobby to go
(19:48):
get a radio for thirteen hundred dollars, you gotta buy the ft d X
one on one. You gotta buyan Icon seventy three hundred for five thousand.
Then you gotta buy all this.Somebody can get on the air with
two hundred dollars for radio and asixty dollars and ten it will make your
own dipole and be on the aircheaper and experience HF on ten meters and
then you know what, we're alla kid side get on eleven for hell,
(20:11):
you know what the hell? SoI appreciate what they're doing. They
what I'd like to see is aradio like this from these any tone of
other chinas that will do ten andsix. You know, AMFM single side
band, upper side, lower sideon ten and but like it has now,
but then add six meters in there. That would be pretty fun.
(20:34):
You could do one model, takeout eleven and put six so it's ten
and six. Any technician can geton at work worldwide on six meters and
ten meters. That's great. Fora two hundred, two hundred and twenty
five dollars, you can't beat it. That would be a great thing.
I'd love to see them do that. So I also have I'm gonna put
the at five five five five quadfive I recall in this vehicle so that
(20:59):
I could use that. I'm probablynot gonna mod that. I might,
but I got eleven and ten meterson this icon seventy one hundred, so
I might you mod it just because, But you know that way, I
could leave my seventy one hundred onseventeen meters or VHF and have ten or
eleven on that radio. I didn'tknow a radio look in a truck line.
I need a hole in the head. But hell, they sent it
to me. It works good,I might as well use it, and
(21:22):
I gotta figure out where i'd putit. But that leaves me one more
antenna I could put on the fourthdoor. So each door on this quad
cab F one fifty has an antenna. And I got another antenna sent from
doctor Jack, a Compact TENNA.Now he took the famous compact TENA duel
band and made a base station groundplanemount for it. Now here's the thing.
(21:42):
I'm gonna check this out. Thereviews on line are fantastic. People
are saying that this antenna is outperformingtheir six foot diamond or their diamond H
what was X two hundred A andthe V two thousand this little seven and
a half inch antenna would have.I'm playing in an HLA is stomping those
(22:02):
other antennas, and wow, Itaught. I had a nice long conversation
with doctor Jack on the phone. He explained the theory to me, Man,
that guy has got some serious quantumphysics in his head. And this
thing and HOA will solve a lotof problems for repeaters for long distance communications
(22:22):
on VHF and UHF. I wantto check it out because everybody needs a
small compact antenna like the Compact antennafor their HLA. Right, how many
people have struggle with an HLA.This thing is rather small, man.
You can put this thing on arailing on a second floor, or a
balcony, or on a fence postmount or something. It's not that obtrusive.
(22:47):
Some HLA say if you can't seeit, doesn't bother us. Or
you know, they allow you tohave a TV antenna and that's it,
but no WAM radio antennas. Wedon't want these drug anta thing's good.
Put it right on top of thatTV antenna. No one will even and
know it's there, and you'll haveplenty of action on VHF HF from your
home. Qth. So that isa video coming in the next couple of
(23:07):
days. I want to set itup, try it in different ways,
play with it, see how itworks well. I thank doctor Jack from
Compact Tenna for sending to me thathe's sent me some other stuff in the
past and he's done well with hisantenna's. The proof is into putting on
that. I'll go look at thecomments on that video. They will definitely
tell you you know that my videowas correct. It does work well.
(23:30):
So we're gonna try to base stationversions. Yeah that is this video or
podcasts went twenty three minutes. Youhaven't heard such an enthusiastic twenty three minutes
in your career of listening to mypodcasts. But we're up till an episode
one fifty something. I think Idon't know. You can tell I've had
a McDonald's medium French Vanille. Ihas coffee this morning. And the drinking
(23:53):
thing, for those who ask,I've had a couple of shots here and
there the last days, but nottill after dinner in the evening. The
weekend was fine, you know, but I'm working on it in moderation,
you know. But you could tellthat I had good night's sleep because I'm
not drinking so much. So allin progress. Man. I did like
(24:15):
twelve thirteen days fell off for theholiday weekend. And you know, I
have a beer a couple of yearsat night, maybe a shot or two,
but hey, I'm not drinking tentwelve fifteen shots in an evening or
on a weekend, you know,So hey, I'm doing good. I
figured I'm doing good in moderation.I'll be forty years old on October fourth,
and I my thirties were a blur. So much happened, buying the
(24:36):
house, partying, all the time, this and that. I want forties
to be a whole different experience. So maybe that's my turning point. But
forty maybe that's might clean up andreally get responsible. I am responsible,
but you know, I need tohave a I need to have I'm a
goal type person. I gotta Igotta have a start and a finish,
and that'll be the start. Sohey, I'm doing good. You can
tell my I'm I'm excited. We'reback, got YouTube thing going and making
(25:00):
multiple videos a day, so we'recranking them out. Man, I'm trying.
I want to thank my sponsors.HAMM Radio Prep, Hammerdeal Prep is
you know, by far the easiestway. I've told you this thousands of
times, and guys, thank youfor not bashing me that I put them
in my sponsor you know plug forat the end of my podcast, because
there's somebody out there that hasn't heardof them yet that's just finding the podcast
(25:25):
and this may be your ticket, dude, to get them into ham radio
and to really make a good operator. Ham Radio Prep says, if you
use their courses and I've seen it. I've made videos on it. Pixie
got her Tech General and Extra ina week. We never touched her radio
in her life. Now she's gotan ft excuse me, an ftd X
one oh one and she's an extraand it took her a week with an
(25:47):
app online stuff. Now they gotthe HF Masterclass. I have a code
Eric twenty you could use to savetwenty percent on any course you buy,
including the HF Masterclass, which willteach you a lot about. Hey,
I got my license, now whatWell, here's what is. We're gonna
teach you how to make DX contacts, what bands in the best, when
to do this, how to dothis, the science behind HF. You
(26:11):
can call CQ all day long, but maybe you don't know which bands are
open, what time they all?You know, how they operate. What's
a better radiation for an antenna? You know for short skip versus long distance
communications. HF Masterclass will teach youall that you used to code Eric twenty
save twenty percent. That's a videocoming as well to give you an idea.
Give those people an idea on whatit looks like with the HF Master
(26:33):
Class from Ham Radio Prep. Sothank them for being my sponsors. And
hey, thank you guys for puttingup on me for thirty minutes on this
podcast. You just burned from SatelliteBeach to now we're on five twenty eight
and west toward Orlando. We're aboutseventy miles from Orlando. So yeah,
man, that thirty minutes went fast. Take care of everyone, have a
(26:53):
great day.
