(00:00):
Hello everyone, Happy hump Day aWednesday, and today's travels were an absolute
shame. I've been in the trucksince nine o'clock. It's now two oh
three, and I haven't done adamn thing. Turfpike was closed this morning
for some carbqueue which turned into afatality, like seven thirty this morning,
(00:26):
and then well, and then Igot in the rode, I'm like,
well, it's like two and twohours away, two and half hours away,
seven you all right? And Ilooked at the GPS for the maps
thing it has showed a tiny delay. I'm like, all right, I'll
clean up. Well. I gotthere at like ten forty five, and
I was sitting in traffic until abouttwelve thirty one o'clock. The Wayne's are
(00:49):
all shut down still, and becauseI didn't get the last exit opportunity,
I was now stuck between exits milesapart with twenty five thirty the traffic.
And so after waiting and waiting forhours and creeping along, I decided to
jump on the shoulder what everybody elsewas doing. Then we got a bottleneck
(01:11):
there. Then tow trucks were comingstill, and then ended up going through
the grass off the shoulder to getto the exit like everybody else was doing.
But everybody that was a car passedthat exit. They've been sitting there
since seven thirty this morning. Soto get off at Glade's Road and to
(01:32):
go all the way to ninety fivewith twenty miles of traffic trying to do
the same thing, and then goingall the way down ninety five to Miami
and cutting back over to the turnpike, I would have been there, I
would have still not been there yet, and I didn't even get done what
I wanted to get done. Sothat's that's today's adventure in the truck.
But although on that adventure worked alot of HF today seventeen has been really
(01:53):
good. Had some nice, goodconversations on seventeen meters and just pulled over
a little bit ago and record avideo in case you haven't heard or I
haven't said it. Maybe I diddo a podcast. I don't know about
this, but the HF Activity Grouphfqso dot com great group of people,
okay, and what it is isbasically, they start on seventeen meters at
(02:16):
one thirty or it was that fifteenthirty, and they take all the check
ins mobile and QRP priority and basicallyjust get on there a it's kJ four
y Z I. Uh, youknow, who can hear me today?
I'm in the Stuart, Florida andboom, here comes you know, ten
fifteen stations back. They would giveme five nines and five sevens and then
(02:38):
uh, you know, the nextperson calls and they you know, one
guy was mobile and oklahom erst orsomewhere and boom, you know, everybody,
I gave him a five six whatever. So and then they go,
you know, down the list, and then they moved to fifteen meters.
They do the same thing. Thenthey move I think to twelve meters and
then ten meters. They have afew relays around and uh, you know
(03:00):
somebody at different parts of the countrythat could hear at home, and uh,
you know, you get and atthe same time. On hfqso dot
com, there's a website and thewebsite has an interactive chat on there,
so as you're calling, you couldalso see uh you know, people giving
(03:20):
you a single reports on the chatchat with other people, see where you're
at the list and so on.So it's got the frequency listed on there.
HFQSO dot com just proved that ifyou get someone in a read for
a reason to get on the air, like an activity net, there's a
bunch of people that talk to anda lot of times after that some people
that may not travel to the otherbands. Then now you got a bunch
(03:42):
of people sitting there and want totalk. But you know, it's funny
because I was calling CQ at allmorning and on seventeen and made two or
three contacts, nice long contacts. It seems like I had a pipeline to
West Virginia tonight. Two stations there, one up up north of that,
and but you know, you scrollaround and there's there's not a lot of
(04:05):
people there, but they're all onthe HF activity net. So that gives
you an idea, don't be ascope head, call CQ or you know,
be a part of an h HFactivity net and see it. You
know. So what I can tellyou from this net is I have a
pipeline to Oklahoma. There's like threestations out there, and all of them
gave me a five nine. I'mhearing all of them every time. So
(04:30):
I have some good conditions from mymobile to Oklahoma and Missouri, Kansas City
so up that way, you know. But I heard people in New York,
Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Texas, California. That hurt me also,
So that's a cool thing to do. If I haven't brought that up
before or you're new to the podcastHF Activity Net. So yeah, that's
(04:54):
pretty much I got paid today toplay HF radio. Imagine that can't be
that bad. I mean I wouldhave just now been getting there in about
an hour and then it got afew hours work and then get home.
No, forget it, because youknow what happens. Then now I'm on
the ride the other way and theevening that's and traffic jams happened on the
northbound side. So I just figureit'll screw it. Go to another site.
(05:15):
Maybe these some activities there while I'malready down there and for my month,
please and there you go. Soother than that, I got several
videos in the works, a couplefor my other channel, the Ponderosa The
Ponderosa. If you type of thePonderosa solar panels, you'll probably find it
(05:38):
because it's not a lot of hitson it. It's probably about forty four
thousand, four thousand and seventy subscribers, not a lot, but I want
to show some other things on thatI can do whatever I want that channel,
the Emerald Agassi pasta machine that Igot which is awesome, the Four
Patriots survival food and some other stuff. So I'll be putting them if you
(06:00):
want to check out on that channel. But that's pretty much it. I
was on ten meters earlier today.I had my voice speaking going and put
the SD card in there and hadthat going calling CQ, Collin, CQ,
Colling CQ for about thirty five minutesnobody. So seventeen are doing great
today. I guess it's pretty muchit. It's all I really wanted to
(06:20):
talk about. My Bluetooth is notworking correctly today, so you're probably hear
a lot more background noise and nota lot of audio. But well,
I'm gonna get one of those Plantronicsthings for my pal noise canceling. Maybe
I would make the podcast even betterto listen to. But that's pretty much
it. Oh and someone tells metoday at work on our conference calling the
(06:42):
morning that Mexico released some set ofpublic for public viewing of aliens for that
or a thousand years old. Thatright away. Everybody. He's like,
oh man, you gotta look atthat. Look at this, Look at
the catscans and the X Rays.I'm like, dude, yeah, I
haven't even looked it up yet.I gotta look at the story yet.
(07:03):
But I just feel, you knowagain, aliens do exist. I know
that this place is way too bigin the universe, but I'm not gonna
listen to that. I'm gonna seean alien myself before I believe it,
and when I do, I'm notgonna tell everybody to believe me. It's
from my own thing. You couldtell me there's an alien at landed in
your backyard and ate a ham sandwichwith you. That's cool. I'm not
(07:23):
gonna tell you're wrong. But Ijust don't believe it until I eat the
ham sandwich and cream soda with thatalien. That's just me. But if
you know anything about this, oryou think I should dig into it and
check out a podcast, email meHam Radio Concepts at gmail dot com and
maybe I'll have some Maybe I'll lookat that tonight, do some research,
(07:45):
and then make up podcast tomorrow. On top of that, I oh man,
I just lost my train of thought. It's what I did oh,
I just completed the rest of that. I did the Ham Radio Prep HF
Masterclass, which is from my sponsors. They put that out. They made
(08:07):
a class. You know, youcan use hand Radio Prep to get your
hand license. Any course you buy, use the discount code Eric twenty save
twenty percent. Then they come outwith the HF Masterclass and the Masterclass.
If you get your radio, getyour hand lights, you dry like,
okay, now I don't know whathow to call CQ or how to make
my first contact. Well, HFMasterclass shows this stuff gives you an idea
(08:28):
about basic things you'll need to setup your first HF station and more.
For me, it's very very basic, so I didn't of course weren't anything
from it, but I wanted tocheck it out and see what I'm promoting
from my sponsors. And it's agood course for those who are brand new
into Ham radio. Use the codeEric twenty on that course as well.
You save twenty percent and then youknow they're gonna be adding stuff about other
(08:52):
types of antennas and other types ofpropagation and other things. So it's a
life time pass. You can getthis of course, and you know,
check into it periodically after the courseand they may have other content you never
know. But HF Master Class atHamriya Prep is I think a really good
thing for people that don't know andthat want to get involved and make some
(09:13):
DX or when to call CQ orwhen not to call, when not to
answer a CQ call, or whatdoes it mean when he's calling this?
That's HF Master Class does So thanksto my sponsors for giving all you guys
ham Radio Prep discounts with the codeEric twenty and uh that's pretty much it,
so have a good day and uhseven three
