(00:00):
Oh hello everyone, Happy Monday. And I've been man, I've been sick
for the last week. This wasdisgusting, terrible. I'm still kind of
sick, but I have to dosomething for work. I run out time
for the end of the month. But Gary writes and says, hey,
man, you know we get crankywhen we don't have a podcast. What's
(00:22):
going on? How are you so? Gary? Yes, here I am
and I haven't made a podcast atsome time. Just been dizzy and stuff.
But I should be getting over thissick in another couple of days.
I would hope it. Dude.It was weird. It was like,
so it started on Tuesday. NowWednesday morning, I got out, I'm
(00:47):
like, damn, I going toMiami get this done. I don't really
feel like going to Miami. Sothen the boss calls as a walk on
the door and says, hey,you know we got time on this.
You got other things to do.So yeah, I've got some other things
to do. They're closer. Well, like three hours after that phone call,
I was in bed with one hundredand two point nine fever and it
(01:07):
was just out of control. Andthen every day it was something different on
being sick. So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. You
know, the first day it waswith the shakes, sweating profusely in a
pool of sweating in the bed,and then my skin hurt. Then the
next day my chest started and itfelt like my lungs were frozen. They
still feel like that hurts the cough. And then then the next day my
(01:30):
throat swelled up. I couldn't swallowany they couldn't even swallow my own Spit
had these lumps on the side tomy neck. Then the next day it
went into my eyes and my jaw, my face like it was man,
it was like just crazy. Andthen the next day it was in the
(01:51):
upper part of my head with aserious, serious migraine. And when that
was happening, I would try tosleep all day, and I kept having
weird dreams like that I was talkingto my dad, who's been going for
ten years or more. I wastalking to my dad and showing them,
look, man, this is whatyou could do now. They have stuff
(02:12):
like on a TV you can lookup any episode of Star Trek you want,
and like just talking to it wasso weird. I kept waking up
having these weird dreams. Then thenext day it started after it was from
you know, from my stomach allthe way up to my head and then
it just now it's in my chest. So I went and got some COVID
things last night at Walgrings, threedifferent kinds, just to check. It
(02:35):
was dying to know if this isCOVID. I still to this day have
never gotten COVID and it was notCOVID. So I can only imagine people
I had COVID if it was worsethan that whole shit, that's terrible.
But anyways, so we're making it. I never take off days from work
when I had to. What elseis going on? Well I did,
I did tell you this before.I've been hitting except the last days of
(03:00):
sick in the mobile, I've beenhitting the HF activity net I told you
guys about. It starts on seventeenmeters on eighteen dot one five seven dot
five at one thirty Eastern Standard time, and then it goes you know,
they do check ins and it goesto fifteen meters and twelve meters and ten
meters. Every day that I hitthat net except the last couple of days.
(03:23):
A few days man forty to fiftypeople come back to me on seventeen
meters. You know the people basically, I've said this before. You they
take check ins and then you prettymuch return. They take mobiles and qrps
first, and you basically give yourcall out a couple of times say who
can hear me? You know whereyou're at, and then everybody just jumps
(03:46):
in there and just you know, gives a report back. And I seem
to have a lot of luck onseventeen meters with this antenna in Florida mobile,
this little tar heel HP. Everyday I'm I'm now the Florida resident
mobile here on this net, theresident Florida mobile net on this net.
Excuse me because every day I checkin, I'm in a different city.
(04:08):
I love it. And then fifteenI usually do all right, Then twelve
and ten not so good. Twelveyeah, usually there's usually a few people
on there, and by the timeit gets to ten, not too many.
So that's pretty much where my hf'sbeen lately. Although I got my
go kit altogether go bag, andI think I've crammed about everything I can
(04:30):
think of in this thing to beable to take a backpack. And I'm
gonna make a video on this.In fact, I was gonna do this
on my vacation, but I didn't. Then I got sick. I want
to go out and deploy this indifferent areas. And so you know what
I have, man, I mean, I have Solar, I have battery,
I have laptop, I have myseven and five, I have like
(04:53):
nine different antennas, I have mymy nomad Internet all kinds of stuff.
And now I want to make asecond bag, which I would have with
me and you know, and andhave my little burners in there. I
got little little gas burner, littlethings to make food or heat up food.
(05:15):
And then I got some you know, survival food, and I got
first aid kit, and I gotsome other stuff that I thought would be
pretty cool to have. So withtwo bags, I could pretty much bug
out anywhere and to go along withthat. I have never been this type
of oh oh no, the worldis coming to an end and never being
like that. But maybe it's becauseof what's happening in the world. I'm
(05:38):
intrigued. I'm I'm not excited, but like man, you know, Hamas
or Russia is not walking into VeraLaca states that coming to my house.
But the fact that it could bea hurricane, it could be a war,
it could be an attack on theUS, it could be whatever I
(05:59):
I I always used to be like, oh man, here's another person waiting
for the zombie apocalypse. But no, it's like it's almost like a mission.
It's almost like a a thing likelike in him radio. You say,
well, you know what could Ihow far could I reach on this
antenna or how what can I actuallydo with this radio on two meters?
You know what's the all my possibilitieswith this portable setup ms GO kit,
(06:24):
well for me developed in the lastsix or eight months into what could I
possibly need and how could I makea self reliant kit with me that I
can deploy any bit of radio communication. Uh, you know, get weather
(06:45):
data off satellites, send emails overr F, uh, you know different
things. He's local VHF VHF HFradio on solar and battery and then you
know what else could I say? It's almost like a a challenge to me.
I don't know why. So ifyou have, you know, somebody
once told me a while ago,you know, you can have all the
(07:06):
radios you want in the world outthere if you ain't got nothing to eat
or drink. They're going to bedead in a couple of days. Well,
so you know, now I'm lookinglike, are there these like micro
sleeping bags that I could fit inmy one pig? What do you call
them? Backpacks? So like thedemand pack things, maybe there's a tiny
sleeping bag. Maybe maybe I'll dothis and you know, go out in
(07:30):
the river, on the on theIndian River, go out in the island
and when it gets cool out andjust take all I need with me,
have someone drop me off on ajets gier boat whatever to come pick me
up twenty four hours and have youknow, cook out there and have food,
sleep, do some radio stuff, make some videos, and then I
would determine, you know, well, hey I need something else, you
(07:51):
know, maybe I need a knife. I don't really want to catch food
and kill it, but I don'twant to figure out how to bring meat
with me either. So I gotsome survival food from four patriots. I
had to get that video done too. It's just been too damn busy.
I mean, this stuff is prettydamn good. And all you got to
do is put it boiling water andboil it and it turns into it's freeze
(08:13):
dried you know, macara and seasor Aztec chili with mango or all kinds
of stuff. So I figured Icould put you know, seven eight bags
in there, and then I wantto try some other survival food things.
So I think I'm gonna get thisvideo done soon because there's a lot of
people overseas that are also starving withthe war or whatever goes on of it,
(08:35):
or even not a war, peoplestart man or people. You know,
you can't just go to the storeagainst something the building has been leveled.
Having something like this is I thinkreally cool. You'd be able to
survive even got little pouches of water, you know, and I got the
solar kettle. I could take thesolar kettle, pour water in there,
boil it in the sun, andthen cool it down, and then use
(08:56):
my life straw to drink out ofthe boiled water, and essentially I have
pretty much, you know, reallyreally clean, tasty water. You can
survive longer without food than you canwithout water. So I don't know,
am I freaking out? I mean, you can email me Hammrady of concepts
at gmail dot comg get. Iguess what I'm asking is if you have
(09:16):
something to tell me, like, instead of me explaining it like this to
somebody, how do I explain whatI'm trying to explain without sounding like I'm
freaking out Because there are people outthere that are freaking out. I mean,
I know a couple people. Dude, they're Florida ceiling with AMMO and
yeah, I have a gun ortwo, but they're Florida ceiling and the
(09:37):
AMMO. They have all this stuffand they're saying one day it's gonna happen.
They're gonna infiltrate the US because youhave to defend his home like a
castle and this that. No,I don't think that's gonna happen. I
just want to be able to say, hey, if the lights shut off
tomorrow and there was you know,an immediate threat of danger somehow some way,
(09:58):
how could I survive or get toa better place or whatever. That's
that's kind of like a challenge forme. It's actually getting exciting. So
that's that's what I've been you know, and I want to show some of
this other stuff on YouTube that I'vebeen collecting and stuff. I mean,
I got little you know, Dynamopowered flashlights, I mean solar powered flashlights
they'll charge in the sun. Imean, you never you know how many
(10:20):
things could I fit in this bag, and how many things would I possibly
need. Now I need to getsome I need to invest in some what
do you call it, some cord, some masters cord or or paracord with
some sort of thing that I couldthrow up into a tree for an antenna.
You have like a little weighted bagsor something I haven't looked at.
I should get one of those. In every case, I need to deploy
(10:41):
an antenna with some trees. Rightnow, all the antennas that I have
in the bag can be deployed eitheron a tree, on a on a
a stake in the ground as avertical, or if there's some sort of
barbecue grill in a park, orany anything that I could take the jaw
out and clamp onto it with thejawmut whether it be one of the trusts,
(11:05):
thin tree branch or something, Ican do that, but I have
no way of getting it up inthe air. Once I get some sort
of you know, cord and thingto throw it up there, that maybe
I could do slopers and dipoles andstuff like that. So that's that's what
I've been pretty much, you know, for a podcast episode right out,
like you know what? That's youknow what I've kind of been working on.
(11:26):
I also just ordered I got tobelieve it or not. I got
three programming art systems, programming cablesand softwares for my radios so that I
come seventy one hundred a half inmy truck that I use every day.
I've never programmed it. I dideverything on the fly. I have a
need now to program some frequencies forwork because I modited it for some commercial
(11:52):
business band stuff, so transmits outof band. I got to program those
in there. And let me tellyou, without that art systems, it's
the pot. I tried it withthe cable with some icon software I downloaded
it just it was not working. And then I got the programming software cable
for the ID fifty two because Ineed to get some some repeaters in there
(12:15):
for my travels because I end uptyping stuff in manually every time I go
out there. And then one formy FT five D. And to talk
about that, that ACFT five Dhas been sitting there. I bought it
now two months ago. I madeone two transmissions on it. It's great
radio. It's just sitting there brandnew in the box. I don't know
why I needed that, but youknow, it didn't cost much and it
(12:39):
was branding in the box. Usedsome things I sold, money money from
things I sold, some points Ihad, whatever I bought that maybe I'll
use that one day for something else, but really haven't done nothing with it.
I figure i'll get it programmed upand if I end up selling it,
I'll at least conclude that with it. So yeah, that's mean,
Hey, I'm alive, I'm here. I know this podcast was probably all
(13:01):
over the place, but just hadto get something out there. And another
video coming out is that nomad Internet. Man, that's I've been playing with.
That's I'm convinced. Man, thatthing is awesome. No matter where
I go, I would have Internet. And I'm saying unless the entire grid
in the world goes down, likeI could go to the river or on
(13:24):
island in the river, or upin Tennessee with the RV and have internet.
I could upload videos and make postswherever I am. And I can
tell you even if I get likeone point three four megabits at the house
or pretty much, you know, almost nothing at the house on Verizon from
some other people that came over.I'll get like sixty five seventy megs with
(13:45):
this thing inside under my desk inthe office. That's crazy. That seaband
is really good stuff. And morepeople are implementing seaband and more networks are
going that way for rural internet. So I got to show that too.
So I got a lot of stuffon the way. It's just not a
lot of time. Now I've screwedbecause you know, four days and three
(14:07):
days I lost for work and Igotta catch all that up this week.
So anyways, that is pretty muchit. I hope everybody else is doing
well. Enjoyed this weather currently seventynine degrees here in Melbourne, Florida.
Oh, I got one more thingin Italy from Italy. Gianni had set
(14:28):
me this year's newest HF. That'sin my bag too, the h we
call it, oh man, Imean a videos before h Hamradio Almanac.
The HF Allmac was a name onthe front forget. So he's got like
eighty pages in there, all color, all laminated, spiral bound uh,
you know, for when you're outin the field and you could look at
(14:50):
identify prefixes and countries you could identify, you know, different regions, and
I mean it's you gotta see thisvideo. I did the video before he
made another version out of the call, you know, ten to fifteen more
pages. He's either got education inthere on some coas, lengths and losses
at different frequencies, some good stuff. He makes these and it goes right
(15:15):
into my bag, and I couldyou know, when I'm out there,
you know, you might hear what'sa pop a Yankee one? Well that
you look it up, see,oh that's South America, or you know,
some weird prefixes that you never heardof more before, you know,
like two echo zero maybe the UKor or somewhere right around there. But
then you got like a Lima Limaseven that I've never heard or whatever that
(15:39):
was there day Lima Lima seven orLima Italy seven. I don't know,
and I had to look it up. I forget where he was. But
cool thing about that, you know, Almanacs got everything in there. And
you may say, well, Icould do all that on my phone.
I'm trying to do this in mybag without saying that I'm gonna have a
(16:00):
I'm including internet, my mobile internetin this bag. But if that goes
down, I could do other stuffon the hand radio. So if you
want to look up stuff like that, it's not gonna work if you don't
have internet, you know. Sothe book is pretty cool, man,
It's got some really good stuff.Piece of a field day or whatever.
I'll say. I'll show you avideo on that too, that's coming.
(16:21):
But everybody, I hope everybody hasa great day. I'm gonna try to
have a great day. My sponsorskind of video coming on them too.
Thank you to hand Radio Prep beinga great sponsor of mine giving you the
code Eric twenty save twenty percent.Man, now's the time to get a
hand license again. Just like wetalked about. I don't know if that's
gonna save your life, but thefact that you can get on a hand
(16:44):
radio and no matter everything else canget shut down and you won't know anything.
But you'd have communication with your familyor friends or strangers for emergency situations
and know how to do that withtimes like what's going on in the other
parts of the world. It's nota bad idea man, hand radio license
could be the best thing. Maybeyou're one of those guys that has you
(17:08):
know, the closets, the falloutbunkers, and I mean I've seen people
they got these five gallon buckets withthis, with these seals inside, or
the bags inside with you know, dehydrated or freeze dride food. They got
years and years worth of food. And you know, emi proof rooms with
(17:29):
foil all the walls and lead blanketsand stuff. But guess what they have
all that stuff they survived. Buthow do you get in touch with the
outside world if that's your forte Anddo you think you have to have that
kind of stuff? Add Ham radioto your arsenal and then you'll be complete.
So there you go. Thanks tohand Rado Prep for being a great
sponsor. Thank you guys for puttingup on me today on this sickly Monday,
(17:52):
but getting to it seventh or everyone, thanks for listening. Love y'all,
