Speaker 1 (00:07):
Coming up your weekly roundup of news from around the
haunt industry. Welcome to the show. I'm Philip on the
HN Show. We bring you the haunt news, information, and
education you need to prepare for Halloween. On Tuesdays, we
bring you a roundup of news from haunts worldwide. Read
(00:28):
more about these stories and so much more in our
free weekly newsletter. Subscribe at the link in the show notes,
and as always for the news roundup, I'm passing it
off to Daryl. Hey, Philip here, I'm back because right
after we wrote the newsletter for this week, there was
some very sad and sudden news that came out and
we included it as the main headline for the newsletter.
(00:49):
So I'm just going to read what we wrote in
the newsletter about that and then pass it back off
to Daryl for the rest of the news. The haunt
trash industry mourns the sudden passing of Edward Terrabus, co
founder of the legend Arabis Haunt Attraction in Pontiac, Michigan.
Along with his brother Jim, ed transformed a four story
abandoned building into what became one of the most renowned
haunted attractions in the world. Arabis held the Guinness World
(01:11):
Record for the longest walk through haunted attraction for nearly
a decade and has consistently been ranked and listed as
one of the top thirteen haunted attractions in the world
for over twenty years. The attraction has terrified and delighted
over a million guests during its twenty five year run.
Beyond Arabis, Ed expanded his vision with Arabis Escape, a
multi floor escape room complex, and the recently opened Mythos
(01:33):
Museum of Oddities and Curiosities. He also founded Fearfinder magazine
to promote haunted attractions throughout Southeast Michigan, helping cement the
region as the haunted attraction capital of the world. Ed
was described as bigger than life, an innovator, a showman,
a storyteller, a visionary, an icon, a friend to all,
a loving family man, and a prolific businessman. Those who
(01:55):
knew him remember a life force who lived loud, loved big,
and gares endlessly. A celebration of life will be held Friday,
June thirteenth, twenty twenty five, from two pm to eight
pm at Lynch and Sun's Funeral Home, which is located
at three forty North Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake, Michigan.
A larger celebration is being planned for a later date.
(02:17):
Starting at the beginning of each Haunt season, residents of
Southeast Michigan see the night sky light up with the
spotlights and know that all pass lead to Arabis. This
tradition will continue as Arabis prepares for its twenty sixth season.

highly violent healthscape known as the waste Land, crawling with
